this is just a silly little warm up drabble to get me back in to writing but.... modern!anakin as the fun but lowkey deadbeat dad and you, the kids' babysitter after he divorces padme is haunting my brain. this is a little different from my usual writing style so if it's a flop everyone close their eyes ok thanks

warning there's no actual infidelity here but it's a little iffy it's a little close. as per usual minors dni

you know he's not the best dad. really, most of the time he just feels like a kid that never grew up. he's childish, snappy, and if you ask him who leia or luke's teacher is he's got no idea.

but man does he love those kids.

you started off as padme and anakin's babysitter; a bandaid to padme's problems with a marriage that's falling apart. she's exhausted, tired of taking care of two tiny seven year olds that are a little too good at getting into trouble. you'd know, you've seen it yourself so so often.

when anakin comes home, he gets to be the fun parent. always away on business trips or whatever-- and you know he's not cheating, he's too faithful to their marriage to do that-- but it doesn't change the fact that he really isn't doing much around the house.

padme doesn't confide to you often but when she does, over a glass of wine after the kids are tucked in and some thriller from twenty years ago is playing on their flatscreen, she tells you things. about their dead bedroom, created mostly by the fact that she can't stand anakin's touch anymore.

and you sympathize with her, you really do; he needs to do more chores around the house, he needs to stop contradicting padme when she gives a consequence to the kiddos and back her parenting up. he's making her the villain in the kids' eyes, you hear her!

but... you don't fully understand how she's able to keep her hands off of him. if you were in her position, you'd probably feel the same, but you're not and anakin skywalker is really. fucking. hot.

but that's none of your business.

until they've divorced. anakin's moved out but the kids are over there the weeks that he's in town and not on business trips. you come early one day, forgetting that the kids come home later on wednesdays, and anakin's in the garage, slid under his car, fixing something that you don't care about right now.

what you do care about is that he's shirtless, with motor oil streaked across his abs, his skin glinting in the afternoon sun and you want to lick it off of him. you should look away, should feel some type of shame, but you don't.

you only realize that you've been ogling him when he slides out a little more and laughs at your sight glued to his body, putting on a show of gulping down water and letting it fall messily. you can't help it, you watch the beads of water trail down his chest, down to his happy trail, and you have to hold back a whimper because dammit, you want him to bend you over the hood of his car and fuck you.

"d'you wanna come in?" he asks, getting up to turn off his music. some blend of early 2000s rock that fits him a little too well. "kids aren't home," anakin says. you don't have it in you to say no.

you're not sure what exactly started everything, but it doesn't matter when he's got your legs spread, has you leaning on the back of the couch and his face is buried between your legs, sucking on your clit and fucking your hole with his tongue. you can feel his nose drag against your labia, and it feels so good you have to hold back the whimpers and moans with your hand clamped to your mouth.

The sight of yet another empty bottle left a sigh falling from your lips. You looked around the kitchen for a moment, a small pit of annoyance building in your stomach as your eyes landed back on the bottle. 

That was the fifth bottle this week. You stood for a moment thinking, you knew trying to talk to Dean when he was drunk was almost like talking to a brick wall. Even more so if what you wanted to talk to him about was his drinking. Walking towards your room you ran a hand through your hair a breath leaving your lips as you tried to push your annoyance down.

Pushing the door open another sigh left your lips. “Dean?” You shut the door before walking over to where he’d slumped over on the bed. Had the last hunt really been that bad? You were more than aware of your boyfriend's less-than-healthy drinking habits but this seemed worse than normal.

Normally he could at least function enough to get into bed but it looked like he’d passed out the moment he’d sat down. “Dean” You shook his arm again, this time a small groan left his lips as he frowned in his sleep. Shaking your head you leaned down and began untying his laces.

“This isn’t healthy.” You said through gritted teeth and you pulled one boot off. “I’m not your babysitter.” The annoyance you’d previously pushed down seemed to come back in an instant and you paused. 

Looking up from your hands you frowned. You knew what you were getting into when you went on that first date. You’d watched Dean fall further and further down a never-ending black hole for years and part of you believed that you’d be able to help him.

That maybe you could pull him back from the hole. But as time passed part of you began to wonder if maybe you were wrong. Your relationship was far from perfect and you both knew that. 

Pulling off his other boot you placed it beside you before standing and pushing his legs onto the bed. You watched him for a moment before moving to sit on the other side of the bed.

“Sweetheart?” Dean's voice was corse as he squinted up at the ceiling. He rubbed a hand across his head, a dull throbbing beginning to beat against his head. Casting a glance over your shoulder you said nothing before standing and walking over to your dresser. 

Dean groaned quietly moving to sit up. “Sweetheart.” he tried again, a small frown appearing on his lips when you stayed silent. “What's wrong?” He rubbed a hand across his face watching as you turned to face him.

“What's wrong?” You said quietly. “What’s wrong is that you got so drunk that you barely made it into bed!” You crossed your arms sending him a harsh glare as you spoke.

“This isn’t healthy Dean!” 

He watched you for a moment before looking down at his hands. You knew his hangover was most likely kicking in but even through that haze he still managed to look slightly remorseful. 

You were both quiet for a moment before you walked over to his side of the bed. Dean gently grasped your arm before pulling you down into his chest. He ran a hand through your hair before pressing a kiss to your head.

“M’sorry.” He mumbled into your hair. “You always say that.” You said quietly. You felt his grip tighten slightly before he let out a sigh. “I mean it okay.” He loosened his grip enough for you to sit up. His hand cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing small circles. “I promise.” He smiled.

Before you could respond he leaned down pressing his lips against yours silencing the words on your tongue.

You knew his promise would only last a few days. You’d had the conversation countless times and it always ended the same. He promised you he’d get help or stop only for the cycle to begin again a few weeks later.

A small sigh left your lips as he rested his forehead against yours. 

You knew the healthy option would be to leave. Maybe leaving would give him the kick he needed to fully get help but you could never bring yourself to do it.

He was like a drug you couldn’t stop no matter how many times you tried. You loved Dean, you really did and you wanted to help him. Hell, a few months ago you’d been optimistic that you could but part of you wondered now if that was just an optimistic dream.

an- idk this is an idea i had for awhile

warnings- injury, blood, abandonment issues

anakin had been busy the past few days. senate hearings, missions, jedi meetings. you felt he had no time for you. you forced yourself to be big and to ignore the part of you that wanted so badly to regress, and for the most part, you were doing a good job. anakin had no reason to believe that your emotions were boiling under the surface and it was only a matter of time before they spilled over.

today would be that day.

truthfully, you woke up feeling better than you had the past few days. the morning started off quite fine. anakin had, of course, already left for the day, and you were all alone in the house. you walked to the kitchen and found a note on the fridge.

“off to a few meetings. love you so much, be good. see you tonight.”

and that was it. tonight? he’d never left you alone this long before! you immediately began to freak out and cried, your little heart breaking. you didn’t even know how to contact obi-wan and ask him to come watch you. you were truly all alone.

you sat on the floor, still crying. you didn’t even have anyone to call! had he really left you all alone? the note didn’t say anything about a babysitter! but of course, why would he? he thought you were big.

a part of you was angry and upset. you’d never gone this long without regressing; was he really that blind? was he so caught up in his work, he’d forgotten about taking care of you? which, in and of itself, was a promise he made that he swore he’d never break? you felt truly by yourself with no one, he didn’t even leave the droids here. you wailed and began hitting your head against the cabinet door underneath the sink. you banged it a few good times, something you did when you were very upset. you usually never actually hit yourself, though, as anakin was usually there to thwart any attempts to harm yourself. you began to feel lightheaded and brought your hand up to touch where you hit, feeling the warm blood seep out. you cried even harder; now you were injured with no one to help you. is this how anakin would find you? alone on the floor bled out in the kitchen? you were having a full fledged panic attack now, and felt physically sick. you tried to get up, but your feet stumbled underneath you and you fell back down, smacking your head against the floor in a different spot. you wailed even harder, there’s no way this was actually happening to you. this had to be some awful nightmare.

you didn’t even register the light knocking at your door, but the person on the other side was quick to hear your cries. using the spare key anakin had given her, she unlocked both locks quickly and rushed in. she caught a glimpse of you, bleeding from your head and on the floor, crying. she was astonished, and very, very angry at anakin for leaving you unattended for this long. he should’ve called her sooner.

“what’s happened?!” you recognized padme’s voice. you couldn’t do anything but wail and hold your arms out, wanting a hug. but you didn’t want to ruin her very pretty dress. you lowered your arms and cried harder, padme rushing to you and giving you a hug regardless. “little one, what’s happened? please tell me.”

“f-f-fell.” you choked out, blood dripping down your forehead now.

“you’re bleeding in two spots! you fell twice?” she asked, shocked.

“h-hi-hit m-myself.” you confessed, utterly embarrassed. padme would have none of it.

“you poor thing.” she said. helping you up and to the bathroom, she had you sit on the toilet and began wetting a large towel and holding it to the two spots from which you were bleeding. “we’ll have a talk about this later, young lady. but you absolutely cannot hurt yourself.” she spoke softly but sternly. “you need a medical droid.” she uttered to herself, looking around. “where’s r2? 3po?”

“gone.” you sniffled.

“what?! what do you mean, ‘gone’?” she asked. you cried more.

“daddy took them.” you said, crying more as she wiped your tears. “i by myself.” you muttered out, still crying.

“oh, i’ll have a word with him. the audacity, by the Gods. he’ll never hear the end of this from me, i swear.” she muttered to herself, bustling around to get first aid supplies. she handed you another towel, as the current one was soaked now. “hold this to your head.” she positioned both of your hands so you held both spots. “i’m going to find a phone, call for medical assistance. then i’m calling anakin. yell for me if you need me or feel faint, i will be right back, okay?” she confirmed with you. all you could do was nod as you still were crying and found it hard to speak. she left momentarily and you heard her faintly in the living room. you sat there, wondering how you let it get this bad, then remembered. in all your fuss about being big and trying to be good and focusing on not being little, you’d forgotten your daily meds. you began to cry again, feeling utterly disappointed in yourself. you thought you’d been doing so good, only to find out you’d failed in the most basic self care. you hated yourself a little at this moment. padme soon returned with the phone, checking on your injuries. she sighed with relief, noticing the blood slowing. she dialed on the phone again, already having called a doctor to the residence, now it was as time for anakin to face her wrath.

“you’ve got some nerve!” she spoke before anakin could even get a word out. on the other end, obi wan was snickering, thinking this was some joke. “and tell obi wan to shut up, this isn’t a joke, she’s seriously hurt! i had to call a doctor! how could you leave her alone for this long before calling me?!”

“what happened?!” you heard your daddy on the other end. he sounded angry and you slinked back into your seat on the toilet. padme rubbed your shoulder soothingly.

“what happened? you failed!” she responded. you began to wince at the argument unfolding. padme noticed this and tried to ring it in. “how could you leave her alone for this long before calling me?” she repeated.

“how did she hurt herself?” daddy asked, worry evident in his voice. padme sighed.

“she was so scared you left this morning that she began to hit her head on- on- something. then she tried to get up and call for help, but she lost blood already, so she fell from being dizzy! that’s what happened, anakin.” she explained, still very upset with him. there was silence on the other end for a few moments. “hello?!” she asked.

“please let me speak to her.” he begged. padme sighed and looked at you, you nodding. she handed you the phone and she took over holding the towel to your cuts until the doctor arrived.

“daddy?” you sniffled.

“babygirl, what happened?” he asked. he was caught so off guard by this, but padme was right. he failed. he should’ve seen this coming.

“been so long since-since…” you trailed off, beginning to cry again, the sobs wracking your body.

“okay, okay.” daddy reassured you. “i’ll finish this meeting and come home immediately, i’ll find someone to fill in for me for everything else. you are the only thing that matters now.” he told you. “i love you so much.” he said. you tried to say it back.

“i love-“ you began to hyperventilate. “i l-love you, too.” you sobbed, the adrenaline wearing off and the pain setting in. you hated feeling this helpless. padme held your head against her abdomen and gave you a hug, rubbing your back. she let the towel fall as the doctor would be here soon and the blood had stopped flowing. you hiccuped and she took the phone and kissed your forehead.

“baby?” anakin asked, worried.

“it’s me.” padme said. “don’t worry, i’ll take care of her. but you need to come home soon.” she said, still angry but trying to remain calm.

“i am. i’ll be home as soon as i can.” anakin said, tears welling in his own eyes. he hardly ever cried but every time he did, it was for you. always.

“good.” was all she said before hanging up, hearing a knock at the door. she rushed over, letting the doctor in and explaining what happened. you were fixed up quickly and the two of them made sure to watch you take your morning dose of medicine. the doctor suggested you be watched closely for the next week or so to be sure no more behaviors like this made an appearance. padme thanked the man and walked him to the door, sighing when she opened the door to reveal anakin.

“is she alright?” anakin asked. padme sighed; shrugging, she pointed to the doctor, who repeated what he’d told her. anakin sighed, realizing you haven’t been on your meds. “it’s my fault, i’m her caretaker, i should’ve noticed.”

“if you’re really her caretaker, then, yes you should have,” the doctor stated simply, pulling out his card. “please do call if she shows any more symptoms.” he said and took his leave, waving goodbye. padme glared at anakin before turning on her heel to go check on you again.

“hi, honey. daddy is here.” she said, walking into your room where you now sat on the floor. you looked up, sniffling, and saw your daddy. you held your arms up and he picked you up swiftly, holding you in his arms.

“babygirl, daddy missed you so much,” daddy said to you, kissing your forehead gently. “i’m so sorry, babygirl.” he told you, tears in his eyes. you looked at him sadly.

“i’m sorry, too.”

“you have nothing to be sorry for. i’m the one who messed up, and i take full responsibility for it.” he said. you sniffled again, feeling more tears pool. “let’s put you down for a nap, babygirl. daddy will be here when you wake up, i promise you.” he told you, setting you down on your bed and pulling the comforter over you. you snuggled in and clutched your bear, looking at your daddy.

“daddy?”

“yes, babygirl?”

“i’m sorry for not taking my medicine.” you cried.

“don’t be sorry, babygirl. daddy will handle that from now on. you don’t worry about a thing, just be my little girl for awhile. okay, baby?” he asked you, gently kissing your forehead again. you nodded, wiping the tears.

“i love you, daddy.”

“i love you, too, baby. so much.”
