A/N: Thank you so much for your kind words, my lovely ! Your kind words have touched my heart, and I hope your creative endeavours flourish <3
Man owns a pair of handcuffs and KNOWS how to use them.
Let’s work on the assumption that he kidnapped you.
Perhaps you were already partially romantically involved but your family would never let you marry someone like König, so he stages a robbery and takes you as part of the ransom.
One he has no intention of accepting any payment for because he’s never letting you go.
König’s monstrous proportions make it easy for him to physically overpower aggressors – other bandits, outlaws, authority figures.
However, he does pose something of a hazard to himself because there’s (much) more of him to hit.
Luckily, he’s straight out of a situation the minute it gets sticky – as if he just disappears into thin air.
Just one of the reasons why he’s called the Phantom Outlaw.
Not to be confused with Ghost, who is also an outlaw but never leaves a trace (or a witness), making his reputation far more ghoulish than König’s.
Though, König does excel in the fear factor, his sheer size and notoriety – his trenchcoat and mask the very visage of Death – forcing everyone who sees him to relinquish their goods in exchange for their lives.
Speaking of, König’s ability to swing thousands in cash makes for a happy home life, given how he spends much of his fortune on you.
Clothes, jewels, literature, instruments, automobiles: you name it, you’ve got at least a treasure trove of each.
Even if you try to resist these gifts, König refuses to let up.
“Can’t have my precious little Engel going without, can I ?”
So, in return, you typically handle all the chores, though König insists you don’t have to.
“It’s not like we can hire a maid to do it for us, can we ?” you tell him. “Especially not when there’s a handsome bounty on that even more handsome head of yours.”
Said bounty is what makes it difficult for the two of you to stay in one place for too long.
And whenever you move, you always try to make the house a safe space for König.
Blankets in his favourite chair, his favourite meal on the table for him whenever you know he’s going to have a rough day, a bit of fun before bed, etc.
You can tell whenever he feels really comfortable, because he takes up three quarters of the bed, just sprawled out like a rapidly growing infection.
And you always fit neatly against his side. Or on his chest.
König calls you his “Little bunny” (or “Bun-Bun”) because of how small you look when you’re nuzzled into his chest.
He never takes you, or anything you do, for granted.
You don’t know this (so keep this a secret between you and I) but König watches you when you sleep. More than you’d think.
Truth be told, the outlaw life terrifies him.
Sure, he has the swagger and the notoriety to make off with thousands in gold, jewels, and lavish material items, but, really, his greatest, most prized treasure is you.
There is only one of you. You cannot be bought, or replicated, or found in the wild like an ore of purest diamond.
Simply put, König’s success is entirely down to the fact that he can’t be caught lacking.
If he ever was to, he knows he’d lose you. Whether you’re taken by a stray bullet in a shoot-out or your town’s rangers come to tear you from his cold, lifeless grip, König takes every precaution to circumvent these tragedies by remaining the fastest hand in the west. And the most ruthless.
Even for an outlaw, his kill count is exceedingly high.
And it’s no coincidence that the numbers began to climb after he met you. Fell in love with you.
People who he’s seen giving you lecherous stares, or those he can sense have poor intentions, he’s taken them out the back and absolved the world of their presence.
And, at the end of every excursion, every execution, every haul, the weight of the world falls from König’s shoulders as he comes back to you.
He takes his mask down around you, hangs his hat upon the coat rack. You’re the only person who he shows his face to.
But, whenever you can tell a fragment of the day resides pinned in his mind, shrapnel of his self-inflicted lifestyle, you make sure to service him before bed.
How he likes to be serviced can change on a day-to-day basis. He’s not fussy.
The only thing that changes is whether he wants to be handled by you or if he wants to slam you into the pillows.
Possessive sex <333.
“Tell me you love me,” he rasps into your ear, pinning you to the mattress with his body, making escape an impossibility to you. “Tell me I’m the only one that will ever have you like this,”
As stated previously; he has a pair of handcuffs and knows how to use them.
Or, if they’re too far out of reach and he needs you bound now, he’ll use rope. Or even just his hands.
Eye contact. The whole time.
It’s as if a different person inhabits him when he gets like this; something dark and jagged, no mere demon, possesses his form. And, by extension, yours.
König’s not stopping until you’re full, he’s empty, and he’s confident you’re not leaving the house for the next few days.
But, when König is feeling fragile, he lets you take the lead.
Just lies back while you’re on top of him, calling him your “Good boy”, “my Prince”, “my protector,” – anything that reaffirms that he holds a great deal of importance in your life.
More often than not, he ends up with tears in his eyes.
Nobody has ever been so gentle and loving towards him as you have. And coupled with how you’re taking him slowly, taking the time to make sure you’re hitting all bases and he’s thoroughly loved, sends him over the edge.
Kiss his tears away and his soul leaves his body.
It’s times like these that, more than anything, König wants a simple life. A paroxysmal desire to lead an ordinary existence where the two of you can live together happily, without the threat of being chased out of town every few months.
And, maybe, one day, even have a family together.
Until then, König will continue to dream, to give you a lifestyle of sapphires and gold and every delicacy the human mind can conjure.
And whenever he looks at you before he leaves, he sees his good luck charm, the light at the end of his tunnel. And, most importantly, the embodiment of love itself.
Reblog for more content like this! It helps creators like myself tremendously and it is greatly appreciated :-)

Bruce sets up an elaborate mindfuck for Tim's birthday in an attempt to make Tim less trusting of even allies, giving him a mental breakdown. Bruce claims this will make Tim a better vigilante.
Tim, upon figuring it out, throws his Robin uniform literally in Bruce's face, cussing him out (like, actually censored swears, which Tim usually doesn't use), and quits. He talks with Steph about how messed up it was, and she empathizes out of her own messed up experiences with Bruce.
An unclear but short time later, probably a few days, Tim un-quits and states to Bruce that he doesn't expect an apology (not because it's unnecessary, but because he knows Bruce).
~
Stephanie returns from presumed death, finds Bruce, and accepts his orders to not reveal herself to everyone else & to take extreme actions to, once again in Bruce's estimate, make Tim a better vigilante.
This includes running around town in her original costume so Tim thinks his dead friend has a copycat, hiring people to attack him, working with a bomber, and even after knocking all that off, not sharing pertinent information about it with Tim, resulting in Tim being caught in an explosion.
Tim yells at Stephanie and says "Don't let me catch you wearing [the Spoiler] costume ever again." When she tracks him down a little later, he refuses to speak with her.
An unclear amount of time later, probably a few months, Tim is willing to work with Stephanie to stop a supervillain plot.
~
Some fans treat Tim's word-choice in the confrontation with Steph as him trying to control her. As him thinking he's got the authority to decide who can and cannot operate as a vigilante, at least in Gotham.
But. Like. One, aside from this one conversation, he takes no actions to stop her. He doesn't steal her gear (like Bruce sometimes steals people's uniform), he doesn't go and tell other people to stop working with her, he doesn't even go snitch to her mom.
Tim just. Tells the friend who got him very badly hurt while mindfucking him that he doesn't want to see her in the field again.
Two, it's a pretty dang similar response to when Bruce mindfucked him in the first example. Tim is the one who insists Batman needs a Robin. And here he is depriving Batman of Robin.
Yet if I tried to claim "Tim quitting Robin is his attempt to control Batman, is Tim acting like he has authority to stop Bruce from being a vigilante" you'd laugh in my face. Because that is a huge leap to make, with convoluted logic, and isn't supported by the rest of the text.
Bruce & Stephanie both screw Tim up really badly.
He confronts them and says he's breaking ties.
Then after a little distance, he goes right back to working with them.
And some people think this is...controlling? Don't get me wrong, Tim has some controlling tendencies, they all do, but it's usually teaming up with Alfred to stop Bruce patrolling while injured, and lying his ass off to everyone so he can do what he wants.
This? Is not that.

Tall Tales - Alyssa Naeher/Reader
part one | part two
prompt: part two to Our Own Litle Book Club where Alyssa helps open up a book store.
warnings: none.
words: 1562
i hope you guys like this cause i'm hoping to get back into writing and maybe even setting a schedule for it to help keep me on track since i'm working two jobs and can get pretty busy these days cause i've really missed writing.
Tumblr media
Y/N POV
“So, I have a surprise.”
Alyssa furrowed her brow as I pushed the box across the table toward her. I kept a close eye on her reaction as she opened the box.
Alyssa blinked once. Then twice. And then a third time before she reached into the box.
“Are you asking me to move in?”
I chuckled a little as Alyssa held the key up in between us.
“Not yet,” I shook my head. “I bought the place next door with the money I made from my book. Which reminds me, I really do need to do something for Rose the next time she’s in town since she recommended it to all of your teammates and on her Instagram.”
“Why did you buy the place next door?”
I looked down at the table as I fiddled with the mug that had my latte in it. I had wanted Alyssa’s opinion, but she had been so busy preparing for the World Cup and the last thing I wanted was for her to feel like she had to help me with it.
“I want to open a bookstore. Is it a bad idea?”
Alyssa stayed quiet as she put the key back into the box that was sitting on the table. We had only been together for a couple of months, but her opinion on this meant a lot to me. I held my breath until Alyssa reached across the table to grab ahold of my hand.
“I think it’s a great idea. Do you have a name for it?”
“That’s a work in progress,” I said as I grinned at her. “I was hoping that you’d help me with that. And maybe help me fix it up? I’m not in a rush and Arthur said he’d keep me on the schedule until 11 so that I could work on it in the afternoon until it’s ready to open and then we’ll come up with a plan for my schedule here too.”
“How much work needs to be done?”
“I could show you around when you finish that coffee.”
Alyssa shook her head as she turned back to her coffee that was only half gone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grinned as I stepped back once we had moved the bookshelf into place. Alyssa wiped the sweat off her brow as she joined my side.
“Now we just have to put the books on the shelves.” Alyssa let out a small groan as I waved her off. “I can do it tomorrow with the others.”
“You sure you want the others to put the books up with you?”
I rolled my eyes at that before I tossed the water bottle over to her. Alyssa had met most of the people I had hired but she had insisted that the two of us do the work ourselves to make it our little project.
“You have practice tomorrow and I have the day off from the coffee shop. Besides, it would help if the others know where everything is at so that they can help people find what they’re looking for when we open next week,” I said. I had been training everyone who was hired how to use our system, but it had been easy since a couple of the people coming to work at the bookstore also work at the coffee shop with me. “Besides, you have your national team camp to worry about.”
“I can always tell them that I have personal stuff going on. I want to be here for opening day.”
“Alyssa, you know you can’t do that,” I swatted at her shoulder. We had arguments over the topic that past few days now that I had set the date for my grand opening, and it happened to be while Alyssa was going to be at camp. She’d ultimately be in town as their national team camp was taking place in Chicago, but Alyssa was worried that she wouldn’t be able to stop by for opening day. “I won’t let you put your own career on hold because of me.”
“I want to.”
“And I don’t want you to. What if they refuse to call you up later because you took time away from the team?”
“Let me worry about that.”
“Absolutely not, Alyssa. I’m your partner, it’s part of my job to worry about you. I could never forgive myself if they refused to call you up because you took time for me.”
“So, you can support me as my partner, but I’m not allowed to support you.”
I sighed as I pinched the bridge of my nose. Alyssa didn’t even have a schedule for her camp days yet so there wasn’t any telling if she would have to miss opening day or not.
“Look, the team is coming for the soft launch. It was supposed to be a surprise in case you’re going to be busy on opening day,” I explained. I had reached out to Becky to help me set up the surprise. “You guys will be the first customers that we have. I wanted to make sure that you could still be a part of the opening, but I won’t let you put your own life on hold for me. And we’ll have the first book club meeting when you get done with camp. Okay?”
Alyssa stayed silent as she nodded her head. I was a little upset that I had to ruin the surprise, but if it helped to quell Alyssa’s nerves about possibly missing the opening day then I guess it wasn’t too bad to ruin the surprise.
“We’ll be the first customers?”
“Pinky promise.”
I held my pinky up so she could lock her own around mine. After all, pinky promises were the most important promises ever.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I grinned as I rocked on my hills as the girls made their way toward me. I wrapped Alyssa up in a hug when she got close enough. We had been on the phone just this morning, but nothing compared to being able to see her in person.
“You ready to see how it turned out?” I softly asked her.
“You know I am.”
I pulled away from her before turning to unlock the door. I waited for the girls to pile into the store before I turned on the lights. Most of the girls gasped or squealed when they could finally see how the store turned out. I didn’t mind as they started to go about the store.
I did step up next to Alyssa though as I grabbed ahold of her hand. My eyes were drawn to the display that she was looking at. There were quite a few displays about the store. We had mystery book dates scattered throughout the store, along with a banned book display and even one for our employee favorites.
“In the beginning,” Alyssa read out loud. She looked down at me. “Are those the books we’ve recommended to each other?”
“I couldn’t have opened this place without you. I wanted to do something a little extra special for the two of us,” I admitted. I had even gone as far as to make sure that all the books were in order of how we had each recommended them to each other as just another way to tell our own story. “Do you like it?”
“I love it.”
“Good, because you guys are also working opening day as well.”
“Wait, what?”
“Yeah, you guys are going to come and work opening day. More press for the store and you get to come to opening day.”
Alyssa grinned before she pulled me closer to give me a kiss. I couldn’t help but melt in her arms. I was getting to live my own little story and I wouldn’t change it for the world.
“Hey, (Y/N)!” Sonny called out, causing Alyssa and I to pull away from each other. Neither of us being comfortable with showing too much PDA around Alyssa’s teammates. “How did you get ‘Tall Tales’ for the name?”
“You don’t have to tell her,” Alyssa said to me, but I was already shaking my head at her.
“Alyssa loves telling me all of the national team tales you guys get up to and she’s tall, so it kind of just worked out perfectly.”
“I knew you loved all the shenanigans that we get up to, Uncle!”
Alyssa groaned at that.
“Is ‘shenanigans’ your word of the day, Sonnett?” Alyssa asked. I immediately brought my hand up to cover my mouth to keep the laughter from spilling out. “I’m so proud of you for being able to use such a big word in a sentence.”
“Don’t be mean,” I said as I pushed Alyssa away from me.
“Let’s be realistic,” Alyssa said. She caught sight of the book in Sonny’s hands. “Are you sure you should let her read your book? She might have trouble with some of the words and subtext and all the hidden meanings in it.”
“Hey!”
“It’s okay, Sonny. You can ask me all the questions about it,” I said to the blonde defender before turning to Alyssa. “And you are getting no more kisses until you can be nice to Sonny.”
Alyssa groaned at that as I moved closer to Sonny to talk to her about some of the themes that she would find in my book.

you are the best thing that's ever been mine
for the @steddieholidaydrabbles warm up round 1 (prompt: high school or college AU) rated: T wc: 638 cw: n/a tags: established relationship, angst with a happy ending
--------------------------------------------------------------
Being with Eddie had been easy. Two years at college, pretty much sharing a dorm unofficially, studying together whenever they weren't working their shitty jobs, annoying Eddie's roommate Gareth constantly.
But when graduation came, and real life set in, they realized quickly that what they thought was hard was nothing.
They had a small apartment on the outskirts of town, rundown and barely worthy of the rent they had to pay, but it was theirs.
Steve managed to find a job at an elementary school as a guidance counselor right after graduation, but Eddie struggled for a while. It didn't seem like anyone was hiring for a music teacher, and he started to wonder if he'd made a mistake in his degree.
He thought he'd taken a safer route than just going into the music industry, or trying to, but clearly he'd been wrong.
"Baby, we're fine. I make enough to cover what we need, we just have to be on a tight budget," Steve told him after Eddie had explained how useless he felt not contributing to their bills yet.
They were lying on the couch, Eddie tense under Steve.
"But you shouldn't have to, Steve. I'm basically the same as the spider we refuse to kill in the shower," Eddie groaned.
"No you're not. You're trying to find a job and you're going to," Steve insisted.
"And if I don't?" Eddie said, pushing Steve off of him so he could stand up and pace. "If I end up searching for a job for months or years, how long until you get sick of having to support us both? How long until you kick me out because I can't give you what you want? We can't ever have a family on just your income in this shitty apartment."
"Eds, you won't be unemployed forever. We've got time."
But Eddie didn't want to listen.
He walked over to their window that opened onto a fire escape and climbed through it.
Steve saw that it was raining, but knew Eddie wasn't going to come inside until he was ready.
If Eddie had to be in the rain, then Steve was going to be with him.
Steve joined him a moment later, cringing slightly at the cold rain instantly soaking his clothes.
"You remember our senior year, when I was convinced I'd have to drop out because my social work for students professor hated me? I cried every night for three weeks about his class and his attitude. I was awful. But you listened to it all, held me through it all, helped me study for tests and prepare for my final presentation. You remember what you told me the day of the final?" Steve asked, keeping some distance between them while he spoke.
Eddie shook his head.
"You said that one hard class wasn't going to keep me from being what students need. You told me that I was going to be fine because I already cared about kids I don't even know yet, and anyone who couldn't see that was an idiot. And you told me you loved me for the first time."
Eddie looked over at him, brows furrowed, hair dripping wet from the rain.
"You loved me through a tough schedule, and being broke, and complaining about someone who ultimately didn't matter. You loved me when I was an asshole to you and everyone, you loved me when it was hard. Now it's my turn, okay? Let me love you through it all."
Eddie didn't answer for a moment, but then he leaned in and kissed Steve's forehead gently.
"I never thought I'd have someone who loved me like this. You're the best part of my life, you know that?"
"And you're mine," Steve replied, kissing him on the lips as the rain continued to fall.

Hey everyone, I hate to disappoint but I just wanted to share that there’s no way that the Halloween event can happen anymore this year.
My manager at my job initially promised me that I would be able to have a set schedule where I could have 4 days off a week so I could properly devote time to getting my writing done. Unfortunately, two people quit and my schedule for the next few weeks just came out and now I’m being forced to help cover their shifts until they hire new people (which will probably take a while since my job has a terrible reputation in town). Although I would have probably been able to find a way to make the event still happen given how excited I was about it, I’m still in the process of doing four relatively large story commissions so there’s no way that I can juggle both those and the Halloween event. Something had to give and obviously the event had to go as the commissions take priority.
To provide some context and be a bit vulnerable, things in my personal life have been a bit rough and hectic the past month or two, so I’m hoping things can eventually settle down soon enough. As previously mentioned my job is being a nuisance, but there’s other stuff going on like money issues on top of being in the process of getting a new doctor because my current one was refusing to take any of my concerns seriously. Beyond just him downplaying my anxiety and depression diagnoses when it comes to providing me effective medication, he also refused to try and help with the debilitating migraines I suffer through practically every other day.
Just to add a cherry on top of the shitty month that this has been, I just recently discovered that queuing on Tumblr has finally failed me. The story that was meant to come out this month never got posted and the concept of having to go through re-formatting everything and getting photos again was just too much of a depressing nuisance for me to deal with. Hell, I've been in such a stink recently that I didn't even do a celebration to celebrate the fact that my account had passed 4,000 followers! I guess doing it nearly three hundred followers later is a bit too late, but I suppose it's never too late to celebrate. I seriously appreciate all of the support I've received regardless of it was a like, a reblog, a follow, or a subscription to my Patreon. All of it means a lot to me... genuinely.
I suppose I just wanted to say that things feel a bit grim for me currently, but I remain hopeful that good days shall eventually come (especially since Halloween is my favorite time of year). To put a more positive spin on the increased hours at work, at least it means that I'll hopefully fix my money issues. Plus, I finally have a meeting with a new doctor this Thursday so I'm hoping I can get some results and find someone who actually cares and wants to help me.
In closing, I sincerely wanted to apologize again in case I disappointed anyone by canceling the Halloween event. Hopefully I can make it up to y’all though by releasing two stories here for October that I really enjoyed writing.
On top of that, I’m thinking I may give the concept of releasing long stories for purchase via Ko-Fi / itch.io a shot by having a trial run with a nearly 10k word Halloween-ish story involving misguided spells, twinkification, and age progression / weight gain between two best friends.
Thanks for reading, I appreciate all of your support and hopefully your understanding during this extremely trying time. 💙

William Jason "Jay" - Christian Cage
Summary: Adam Copeland & Christian Cage are just two everyday cops, back in their hometown of Orangeville. They share everything in their lives, and that includes one police station secretary.
Tumblr media
ADAM COPELAND'S POV:
I saw Jay leaning against the door frame of our break room. He was drinking his medium double double from Timmies, refusing to drink the black sludge that they call coffee, here at the Police station.
I clasped my hand on his shoulder, letting him know I was there. "Mornin' Adam." Sip of coffee.
"Morning Jay. What you lookin' at on this fine morning?"
"Her." He raised his coffee cup in the direction of the front desk.
"Mmmm, I see they finally hired Maggie's replacement."
"Yeah, and have you seen her?" Jay turned to look at me. I shook my head no.
"Well, why don't you go and introduce yourself." Jay said, as he was smirking at me. With one raised eyebrow, I walked down the hall towards her desk.
"Excuse me, Miss." I said as I rounded the table and stood in front of her. She looked up at me, and fuck me, she is gorgeous.
"Yes, Officer?"
"Well, I heard that we finally replaced the secretary, and I always like to know who I am working with. My name is Adam, and yours?"
She told me her name.
Tumblr media
"Nice to meet you, sweetheart. I will be seeing you around." I walked down the hall, the same way I came, to Jay still standing there with a massive smirk on his face, sipping his coffee.
"Now you see why I am staring. I am not the only one, by the way." I noticed that. Every single straight male in the vicinity had their eyes on her.
"Knowing a woman like that, she probably has someone waiting at home." I said to him as we started walking, ready to get our day started protecting the streets of Orangeville.
"I did some snooping, and she is single. Her previous boyfriend cheated on her with her best friend, so she decided to move here from Grand Valley."
"A small town where everyone seems to know everyone. Makes sense to move away. Everyone would know that she was cheated on." I still couldn't wrap my head around the fact that some idiot would cheat on her.
"So I invited her out to Thistle & Rose with us after work. You know, trying to be good co-workers with the new hire, and all." Jay said as he walked to his patrol car.
"And?"
"She said that would be more than happy to join us." Jay said as he opened the drivers side door but placed his hands on top of the car.
"I'll be there with bells on." I told him, already looking forward to tonight.
She was already waiting for us, looking nervous. Oh, poor thing, She had no reason to be nervous.
"Officer's." She said once we got close enough.
"Now, sweetheart, please call me Adam."
"And me, Jay." She seemed to relax somewhat. We placed our drink and food orders, and the night began. The two of us getting to know her, and vice-versa.
"So you are telling me that you have never once got in trouble with the law out in Grand Valley? There isn't much to do out there, and some teens just break the law for fun." I said as I sipped my drink.
"Never. I didn't get the point of defacing someone's property or stealing. So I got a job, did the teen programs. Even before I moved here, I would volunteer to chaperone the high school dances."
"Well, aren't you just a sweet thing." Jay said, him never once taking his eyes off of her.
All of a sudden, they were shouting last call, and we had to pay up.
She insisted on paying for us, but Jay shook his head no. "Now what type of gentleman would I be if I had you pay, huh? I asked you to join us tonight. It is on me."
"But Jay,"
"No use arguing with the man. He is as hard-headed as they come." I told her, knowing how my best friend is.
The three of us walked to our vehicles outside, well enough to drive. We didn't have that much to drink.
"Since you are new in town, here are our numbers." I handed her a piece of paper. "If you need anything, do not hesitate to call or text us. Doesn't matter the hour. Emergency or not. You know our work schedules, we will be there, no matter the time."
"Really? Thank you, Adam. Thank you, Jay, for everything." She said as she took the paper from my hand and placed it in her pocket.
"Now drive safe dear." Jay said, as we watched her get in her car, then drive off.
"I know that look. What are you thinking of?" He said to me.
"She isn't just going to text us out of the blue for no reason. I think we have to push this along."
"Benny and Kyle?" Jay already knew the answer, but was just making sure.
"Of course. They owe us for not bringing them into the station when we caught them stealing that car."
"The judge did say one more offence, and they would be going to Central East Correctional Centre. I mean, we are just doing right by these guys. I like the way you think, Adam."
During my next shift, I found Benny and Kyle near their usual hangout spot.
"So you want us to make sure her place is secure, huh? No intruders can get in."
"Exactly, Benny. Just want to make sure her place is up to my standards."
"Yeah, and what is in it for us?" I narrowed my eyes at Kyle and took four steps until I had him against a wall. I lifted him up by his shirt. I could see the fear in his eyes.
"Keeping you two out of Central East. Unless you two would like to go there?" Kyle shook his head no, frantically.
"Sorry, no, no. Thank you, Officer Copeland. We are more than willing to help welcome a fine woman to our community." I let go of Kyle and dropped to the ground. Poor little guy.
"Good, I am glad to hear."
It is around 1:30 in the morning when I got the frantic call from her. Jay was at my place, just shooting the shit.
"Hello, sweetheart."
"Adam, there is someone trying to break in." I could hear her whispered voice quivering. "Stay hidden, Jay, and I will be there soon."
"Please hurry." I hung up the phone.
"At least those two idiots waited for us to be off to try and break in." I said to Jay as we left my home. Jay lives next door. So we are always at each others place.
"Well, Officer Reso, time to go and help a damsel in distress."
"I wonder how she will repay us for helping her Officer Copeland." Jay snickerd as he got in my truck.
"I got a few ways." An image flashed in my mind of her taking my cock down her throat, and fucking her face until I cum, making her swallow everything I had to give her.
"I bet."
I drove off towards her place.
Jay texted her to let her know we were there, as I banged on her front door. "Orangeville Police Department." I called out.
I could hear the sound of a couple locked being unlocked, and she flung open the door, looking scared. She wrapped her arms around me, muttering thank you over and over again.
She then did the same to Jay, but all I could focus on was what she was wearing. Just a sports bra and the smallest shorts I have ever seen on someone. I cleared my throat.
"Just sit on the couch. Jay and I will have a look around." She sat on the couch and didn't move until Jay and I were done our "investigation."
"Looks like they are long gone. I did find a window lock broken in the kitchen, but that can be replaced. Doesn't look like they got in." Jay said as he sat down next to her while I took a seat in the chair.
"I will replace the lock in the morning." Jay said to her. We could tell she was still scared.
"I'll get some cameras and place them outside." I told her.
"Thank you both so much. I don't know how to repay you."
"No need for that sweetheart. We are friends."
"Well, thank you anyways, Jay." She kissed his cheek. I leaned over and pointed to my cheek as well, clearing my throat.
"And thank you, Adam." She said before kissing my cheek.
In the upcoming weeks, "random" things kept happening to her. Three out of four tires were slashed on her car. She had someone follow her home. When we asked her for a description of the stalker, she described Benny to a tee.
"No worries, sweetheart, we will find whoever this is." I said to her as I placed the cup of water on my kitchen table. I took my usual spot, sipping my drink.
"Are you sure, Adam?"
"We believe it is the same person who is doing all of this. Don't worry about it. During our shift tonight, we will bring them in for questioning." Jay said.
"Thank you for everything." She said once more. Her body instantly relaxed.
Her and Jay left. Her to head home, and Jay to get ready for our shift tonight. I still had time to kill, so I opened my laptop and opened her security system I set up.
I pulled up my favourite video from a couple of weeks ago. She went on a date, which made me red with jealousy, but we hadn't seen him since then.
I fast forwarded to my favourite part.
The two of them in her living room, her bouncing in his lap, her arms wrapped around his neck, his lips mouthing at her chest.
I wrapped my hand around my cock, jerking it at just the right pace. My focus was on her face as she came. Her mouth fell open as she moaned. The guy pulled her off of him, and she reached down between their two bodies and jerked him off quickly.
He came all over her hand and stomach.
When she finished jerking him off, she licked her clean, making me groan. I came not long after, just like I have done every single time I watch the video.
Jay also has a copy of this as well. I couldn't keep it to myself.
Benny and Kyle did their jobs wonderfully. I told them to stop, as we know have her right where we want her.
We have her trust. She will come to us for anything. We now spend our days off with her, at one of our places.
But tonight, during our shift, I was stunned to see her in the holding cell. "My, my, my, this is a suprise sweetheart." I said as I watched her stand from the bench.
"Adam, this isn't my fault."
"Well, then whose it?" I texted Jay to come to the holding cells.
"I was out with friends when a group of girls got into an argument with Jenny. Then Jenny slapped her, and a full-on brawl broke out. I tried to stop it, but Livingston didn't listen."
That is when Jay walked in. "Come on now, love. Let's get you home." He opened the cell, and I stood to the side to let her out.
We stopped by her place in the morning, and she didn't want to open the door for us. "Come on, now love, no need to be embarrassed. We got it swept under the rug."
The door opened just a crack. "Really, Jay?"
"Would we lie to you?" I asked her. A smile broke out on her lips, and she opened her door to let us in.
"How can I ever repay you?" She asked. Jay and I looked at one another and then back at her.
Jay cupped her face in his hand and stared deep into her eyes. "We have an idea, love, only if you consent."
Her eyes got really wide, and she bit her lip before answering.
"Yes." Her answer came out in one breath. That was all Jay needed to smash his lips against hers. The two of them moaning.

CHRISTIAN CAGE'S POV
I pulled back, needing to breathe, and she turned her head to kiss Adam. Their kiss was intense, but I was feeling left out.
I stood behind her and moved her hair from her neck and started to nip and kiss her neck as the two of them kiss.
"Maybe we should take this somewhere comfortable." I said.
"How about the bedroom?" She asked as she pulled her lips from Adam, who started to kiss down her neck towards her chest.
I needed this recorded. I want to look back on this night for years to come. "I think the living room will do just fine for what we want to do with you."
At that moment, Adam lifted her up by her ass, making her squeal as she gripped his shoulders. I followed behind the two of them, as he dropped her on her couch.
"Take off your clothes for us, baby." I said, palming myself through my uniform pants. Adam and I groaned as she took off her shirt, and she didn't have a bra on underneath. She took off her undies and shorts as well, while Adam and I stayed dressed.
I was about to undress, but she grabbed my hand.
"Keep the uniform on, please."
"Like a man in uniform?" I chuckled but dropped my hand. "Only you two."
I undid my pants and pulled down my pants and boxers just enough to have my cock, hit my stomach.
I watched her eyes get wide as she looked between Adam and I, licking her lips.
"I knew you both would be big." She said as she gripped our cocks in each of her hands. Jerking them up and down. Adam flung his head back, but I kept my eyes on her.
"Love," I went to say something, which I completely forgot when her lips wrapped around the head of my cock. My head fell forward against my chest, groaning.
"Take a bit more love." I said. I placed my hand on the back of her head, urging her to take more.
"How's her mouth, Jay?" She was still jerking his cock. "Fuck. Amazing Adam. Why don't you show him how great you are, baby?"
I left the warmth of her mouth and watched as she took Adam in her mouth.
I put my hand on the back of her head, urging her to take him fully in her mouth, which she did. "Oh fuck me. I want to paint her throat with my cum."
"I don't think she would mind that, would you love?" She winked up at him, grabbed Adam's hands and placed them on her head.
"Gonna fuck your throat." His hips moved back and forth as he held her head in place. Her hand that was jerking my cock let go of my cock, and I gripped my cock in my hand, watching as Adam fucked her face.
"Shit!" Was all he said before he stilled, his eyes fluttering, and I could hear her swallowing.
Adam pulled his cock out of her mouth, making her cough. She had cum on her chest and on the corners of her mouth.
I pushed her back against the cushions of the couch, as she was still trying to catch her breath.
I got on my knees, spreading her legs, I pulled her towards me. "Eyes on me, love." Was all I said as I started to eat her out. Her loud whine was like music to my ears.
I groaned at the taste of her. I could spend the rest of my life between her thighs, making her cum on my tongue over and over again.
I started to rub her clit with my thumb, making her arch her back off the couch. I inserted two fingers, making her cry out, and close her eyes. I started to finger her, quickly. She tried to close her legs, but I held them open.
"He said eyes on him, sweetheart." Adam said to her. She forced her eyes open and looked down at me. He got in behind her and gripped her legs to keep them open.
"Come on, sweetheart, let go. There's no need to hold it in. We are going to make you feel good all day long." Adam said as he gropped her chest.
Her hands found the back of my head as she ground her pussy against my face, making my fingers go deeper inside her pussy.
She screamed out my name, as my already soaked chin got even more wet as she came. "How she taste Jay?"
I pulled my lips away, and pulled my fingers from her pussy, and held them up in front of me. "Have a taste." I moved my fingers closer to his face, her gaze on my hand the whole time.
Her breath hitched slightly as she watched Adam wrap his lips around my fingers, moaning at the taste of her juices. Once my hand was cleaned, he dropped my fingers from her mouth.
"No wonder you didn't want to stop. She tastes good. Why don't you show her how good she tastes."
I smashed my lips against hers once more, letting her taste herself.
"You ever have two guys at once, baby?" Adam asked her. She pulled her lips away from me and told us no.
"You will today."
The last few hours, Adam and I have been fucking her in different positions, making her cum all over cocks, mouths and fingers.
From us taking turns fucking her over the couch, to her riding each of us on the couch, just like she did to that guy weeks ago.
Right now she is on her knees, with my cock down her throat, as Adam is fucking her from behind. Earlier, I found her toys and pulled out the biggest dildo I could find, and grabbed her lube.
"Gotta get you ready for us, baby. Just relax and let Adam put this in your ass." I said to her as I lubed up the dildo and handed it to Adam.
I held her in my arms as he got past the tight ring of her ass and pushed the dildo all the way in, making her body shudder.
"I think it is time, Jay." Adam groaned as he fell against her back, his hips snapping against her ass.
"You ready to take both of us at once, baby?"
"Mmmhmm." Came her reply, with my cock still on her mouth.
Adam pulled out her over-sensitive pussy, making the two of them groan. He pulled the dildo out of her ass, tossing it to the side.
"What hole do you want?" I asked Adam, already knowing his answer.
"Pussy. I know how much you want to fuck her ass. I will next time."
"Next time?" Came her hoarse voice.
"Yeah, baby. This isn't a one-time thing." I said as I placed my cock at the entrance to her ass. Adam got in front of her, lifting her slightly to have her sit on his cock once more. I pushed her into his chest as I sunk into her ass.
"Fuck, she is so tight. It is like her ass is trying to strangle my cock." I finally bottomed out, my hips flushed against her ass.
We let her get used to us both being inside of her. She was gripping Adam's uniform shirt that was open, "Move, please." Was all she needed to say.
I pulled back slowly and gently thrust back in. I kept an eye on her, making sure she wasn't in discomfort.
My pace increased, as did Adam's, until she was screaming into his chest. Her screams were ones of pleasure, which started to get quiet.
"Knew you would do so well, baby. You were made to take us." Adam groaned as he fucked up into her.
"You belong to us, don't you love? No one else can fuck you." I moaned.
"Yours. Only yours." She muttered.
A few minutes later, Adam stilled and groaned, filling her pussy with his cum, which triggered her orgasm. Her body tightened, including her pussy and ass.
I moaned out her name as my thrusts became sloppy. My eyes seemed to cross as I came in her ass, collapsing on her back, kissing between her shoulder blades.
The only sounds in the room were us trying to catch our breaths. I pulled out of her ass, looking down to watch my cum leak out of her ass.
I pulled her off of Adam, and he must of seen his cum leak from her pussy.
"I will go draw you a bath." I said, walking down the hall to get the bath ready.
I came back, and Adam lifted her her limp body to place her in the tube as I leaned against the doorframe.
"Stay. Order some food. Do your laundry. I have made a mess all over your uniforms." Adam and I chuckled at that, as she isn't wrong. She squirted all over my pants and when she showed us our combined jizz in her mouth, some dribbled onto Adam's pants and shirts.
"Sounds good. I'll order pizza and Chinese." I said, already pulled out my phone to order. Adam went to our trucks and grabbed our duffle bags for our spare clothes.
We changed and started laundry. Food came just as she got out of the bath.

Day 13 - Prompt: Beauty @pandalilymicrofics
February Daily Series - 788 words
<<<Previous Part OR Start Here
Pandora wasn’t particularly interested in rejoining the group, but she reluctantly followed Lily back through the festival crowd. She also hadn’t realised how far she’d walked away from the food trucks. In her frustrated state, she’d power-walked to the opposite end of the path to where it forked. It wouldn’t have taken her long to get lost in this maze.
“How long will you be in town?” Lily asked.
“Just a few days. I needed to escape my family for a bit.”
“I can relate. You mentioned a brother, right?”
Pandora nodded, then grinned. “Evan. He was pretty annoyed with me for leaving him at home. I can’t say that I feel that bad about it though.”
“Are you close?” Lily slowed her pace as they worked their way past a group of giggling children. They were watching a dramatic retelling of a fairy tale that Pandora didn’t recognise.
“Yes, but mostly because Evan refuses to leave me be.”
Lily laughed and shook her head. “That sounds about right. I have a sister, but she’s exhausting to be around.”
“Older or younger?”
“Older. Her name is Petunia.”
Pandora arched an eyebrow. “Do your parents have a thing for flowers?”
“Mm-hmm, my mum is a florist. She has a shop in town,” Lily said, waving dismissively. “What about you? Sirius mentioned that Regulus lives in London, so is that where you’re from too?”
“Yes. Reg and I live together, actually. We share a flat near Leicester Garden.”
Lily stopped mid-stride and grabbed Pandora’s arm. “Leicester sounds familiar. Oh! Is that the one with a William Shakespeare statue?”
“That’s the one! I dragged Regulus to the Christmas Market in the square before we left. It’s beautiful,” Pandora said, thrilled that Lily was as charmed by the place as she was. “We share with our friend Dorcas from uni.”
“I’m going to move to London someday.”
Pandora’s heart pounded in her chest as she listened to Lily explain her grand plan to save up for a flat and hire on with a florist or garden until she could find work in her field. A sound plan, except her dream job was a little niche for London. There wasn’t a great need for horticulturists in the city.
“I know it’s a long-shot, but I figured that if I could hire on somewhere plant-adjacent, that would be a start. Don’t you think?” Lily said.
“It could work.”
Pandora didn’t want to dash her hopes, especially if it meant that there was a chance for this to go somewhere a little further than this holiday. She hadn’t really expected more from it than a bit of fun, but now that she’d met Lily, that changed. If Lily moved to London, they could date properly.
“Remus thinks I’m ridiculous for wanting to live in London, but I think it’s exciting.”
“Have you ever been?”
Lily linked her fingers together and nodded. “Once when I was younger. I loved the energy of SoHo.”
Pandora was on the cusp of an idea when Regulus burst through the crowd and rushed to her side. He glanced between them, then cleared his throat.
“James said there’s a party at the end. Are you staying?”
“Yes, are you?”
Regulus nodded as a slow grin slid over his face. “James wants to dance. Who am I to deny him a good time?”
“James dances?” Lily asked. “Why didn’t he join in at the club?”
James appeared behind Regulus and hugged him from behind. “Because Regulus won’t dance with me. He doesn’t want everyone staring at him. I tried to tell him that they wouldn’t be, but he doesn’t believe me.”
“If Sirius is dancing? You don’t have to worry about anything. That man is mesmerising to watch and even better to dance with,” Lily said, shimmying her shoulders.
Pandora lost track of the conversation for a moment while she admired the woman in front of her. Lily’s little shimmy was adorable, but the bouncing afterwards…merde.
“You’re drooling, Panda,” Regulus whispered.
She wiped at her chin, then glared at him. “I was not.”
“Well, you were definitely staring.”
“How can I not? Look at her! I’m only human, Reg.”
James chuckled as he rested his chin on Regulus’s head. “You’re both terrible at whispering. I think she heard you.”
Pandora looked up to find Lily’s cheeks flushed a lovely shade of pink. A mortified laugh bubbled in her chest, but came out in an awkward giggle. Regulus lost it, shaking with silent laughter as he hid his face in his hands.
That was it. It was all over. Once Regulus started laughing, Pandora couldn’t fight it anymore. Soon, they were all lost to the absurdity of the moment and cackled like hyenas.

Moving update
I'm grateful to the folks checking in on me and @crowtoed and thought I'd drop a quick update.
We're almost done putting all non-essentials in storage. The many bins are an investment in case we have to do this again. (I have already started researching shipping containers for an overseas move.) I'm going to buy storage unit insurance this week because I have more valuables stowed away than standard homeowners will cover.
My storage unit is almost the same size as the moving truck, which makes it easy to guage if I have to purge/store anything that won't fit. I'm going to hire the biggest trailer from upack.com when it's time to leave. The prices are amazing - less than $4k to move to Connecticut.
The Florida realtor (a condo expert) is viewing my place tomorrow, and with her advice, we'll start on final repairs/refreshes (this place is 23 years old, about when things like windows and tile get rather iffy). My mother graciously gifted me money to cover the majority of the fixes. This move would be a lot harder without her help.
Mom is also letting us stay short-term in her MiL suite a few towns over, so we can sell my condo asap. That means we don't have to worry about timing the purchase of the new house with closing on the old. Plus, I should have a few paychecks rent-free I can sock away / apply towards mutual aid.
We're hoping the condo sells by June or so. Once that happens, I'll use some of the funds towards old debt to nudge my credit rating ever closer to 800 (it's 778 rn, a multi-year project as I used to be in the 400s). Most of the rest of the money will be earmarked for a generous down payment on the new home.
We're still looking in Connecticut and have a realtor there as well. If it's possible, we can afford to fly up a few times to check out houses. The realtor told us our budget for what we want (1500sq ft or larger) is totally doable. The housing market there is weirdly reasonable.
Work is incredibly kind and has said if I need more than 2 weeks to move, I can take whatever time I need. I am fully remote now and blessed to be part of such a progressive company.
We still have some household and personal things to sell, but it's more out of "I no longer like/need this" than an urgent need for money. But thank you to everyone who has offered cash. It means so much to us to have such a strong safety net. If this happened even 5 years ago, we'd have been up shit creek.
Once we close on the new house, we'll drive up asap to move in. This is when we'll know our route and we'll connect with folks along it who have offered to be pitstops for us and the cats. The moving truck will meet us there in 5-7 business days after we leave Orlando.
My HRT Rx also got renewed for 6 months, and with my current stash + a little rationing, I shouldn't have any interruption with my shots, even if pharmacies start refusing me come July.
We're hoping to be all settled in the new home come October, but are dependant on the housing market. But we're stacking as many chips in our favor as we can.
Again, thank you, thank you to everyone who has reached out. I'll update again when something major changes.

The Stardew Valley Disaster
They create their characters as usual, with Cloud hosting the server, Angeal, Sephiroth and Genesis requiring the help of Zack to enter.
How did they got the game in the first time? Zack humbly asked Kunsel to find out their emails and hack them in order to create accounts for each, of which Kunsel was responsible for creating.
Even though Zack begged Kunsel to play, he refused, saying he had played enough for the year (aka 400+ hours of SDV)
G: How the hell did you even made those accounts for us?
Z: Secret Santa.
S: You're not smart enough to figure it out on your own. Kunsel or Reno?
Z: Secret S— UH, RUDE?!
A: Rude knows how to hack?
Z: NO! I'm calling Sephiroth rude!
S: No you.
C: Alright server's done, you guys can come in.
After long thirty minutes of AGS making their characters, they went to the loading screen. Since they each had their laptops on the conference room, they could just go local.
Cloud chose Meadowlands, meaning they each started with 15 Hay pieces instead of Parsnip.
And, after Cloud telling them to skip the cutscene, the chaos begun.
Spring, Day #1
The Firsts are shown the Coop and the two chicks, Chip and Dale.
Angeal immediately fall in love with the game.
S: Can we eat them?
A: *slaps the nape of S's neck*
S: OW WHAT GIVES?!
A: Touch them and you're dead meat.
Sephiroth did not ever touched the chicks again or got close to the coop.
Zack teaches Angeal to set the Hay, simple enough.
Genesis got out to explore the sightings, commenting on whoever he sees.
G: Why is there a hobo here? Is that his tent?
C: Oh, must be Linus, he—
G: Can I toss rocks at him and make him leave?
C: ... This is not Animal Crossing, sir.
G: But I don't want a hobo in my village.
C: Too bad, suck it up.
G: Are you forgetting who you're talking to, Cadet?
Z: Uh... Guys?
A: Genesis don't be an asshole at the first person you meet.
G: Ugh. "A stranger? Hello. Don't mind me. I just live out here alone." Hobo.
C: Talk to him one more time.
G: "... Have you come to ridicule me? I'm just minding my own business."
C: And what're you doing?
G: Ridiculing him and I'd do it again.
Zack punches him and starts calling him names, Angeal took him out, scolded the living hell out of him and Genesis has a black eye. It's still 7am in game.
Zack then went to Pelican Town and greeted everyone excitedly and gave a Wild Horseradish.
Z: I'M SO SORRY FOR MY STUPID DUMBASS FRIEND, LINUS!
G: THE FUCK DID YOU JUST CALL ME?!
C: SHUT IT THE TWO OF YOU OR I'M TURNING THE SERVER OFF!
They did shut it.
Angeal went on to clean the farm complaining on the poor maintenance of the place and how lazy their (in game) grandfather is, he then passed out of exhaustion and Cloud calmly explained the mechanics.
A: But that makes no sense, if I'm already a farmer, why would I pass out because of some trees?!
Z: They fell on your head. *Giggle*
A: WHAT?! THAT'S A THING IN THIS GAME?!
C: No! It's not, and we were not farmers prior to that, we worked in an office.
A: Since when— WHY WOULD HE LEAVE A FARM IN SOMEONE INEXPERIENCED?!
C: Why would people hire an inexperienced idiot for a high ranking job?
A:
S: He has a point.
G: Can't deny that.
Z: It's like the vice president.
S: Spoiled kid getting his way before throwing a tantrum.
C: It's not really our case in the game, though, but anyway...
Angeal asked Sephiroth to finish his job since he still had a full energy bar and so he went. He passed out of exhaustion.
Then Genesis went to the beach and met Elliot.
G: Oh! He's elegant! "Ah, the new farmer we've all been expecting... and whose arrival has sparked many a conversation! I'm Elliott... I live in the little cabin by the beach. It's a pleasure to meet you."
C: He's one of the six bachelors.
S: What's a bachelor?
Z: Means you can romance them!
G: WHAT?!
A: There's relationships in this game?
G: AND SEX?!
C: Yes and NO!
Z: But with mods—
C: WE ARE NOT USING MODS!
G: "I can't seem to find the inspiration to begin writing my novel...” HE'S A WRITER??
Z: UGH! GET OFF YOUR FUCKING DUNGEON YOU EMO! I WANNA BEFRIEND YOU GODDAMNIT—
Genesis goes back home once it darkens and Cloud instructs him to sell whatever he found.
Zack goes back and puts what he found.
Cloud does the same.
In the end, there were a few forage items from Genesis. Spring Onions from Cloud. Trash from Zack.
To be continued...

Note
tell me about the “why an i writing this. what is up.” one please!!!!
omg you’re joking. YAYYYY sorry I haven’t really talked to anyone about this ASUSUAGSGAGAH.
Afternote: this post is much longer than I intended it to be. Be prepared.
Anyway. So it’s going about George Warleggan and Dwight Enys from Poldark 2015 because I think they’re incredibly interesting. Not even romantically I just think their dynamic is WILDDDD!!!
I don’t think you’ve watched Poldark so I’m going to give you a rundown of the two characters involved: Basically George is this rich guy who has an incredible grudge and hatred towards the main character of the show, Ross. For good reason too like I don’t even blame him. But Ross is Dwight’s best friend. So right off the bat that’s enough.
But it gets worse because Dwight is a doctor. One might even say the best doctor in town because he is the best doctor in town. But George refuses to ever hire him out of principle. But ohhhhhh it gets WORSE!!!
The doctors that George DOES hire are terrible and don’t prescribe good medicine they just want money… so when George’s wife gets sick and dies because she overdoses in order to give birth early (because her previous child with George was born early so she wants to make it look normal for her) (but oh her previous child with him was not his child… it was Ross’s child and George knows it…), it sends George into a spiral… he hallucinates that she is there with him still, and he talks to her and he’s fallen into a major depression. George’s uncle hires a bad doctor to get rid of George’s mental illness and the doctor basically just goes “LEECHES ICE BATHS PAIN MEDICAL MALPRACTICE” and this further worsens George’s depression, to the point that when he is left alone on night, he sneaks out of the house to go see Ross’s house bc he sees Ross as what he should be. The jealousy goes WILD with this one. But he sees Ross’s house all lit up, and he has people over, and he’s doing well, and it’s really hard for George to take. So he turns away from the house.
But Dwight is one of the guys at Ross’s house. He sees George in his nightgown, no shoes, walking slowly towards a cliff. And Dwight books it. He catches George just as he’s about to throw himself off the edge. GIF for reference.
Tumblr media
No because what the fuck. Dwight has zero obligation to help him. In fact, he doesn’t even like George. But my god does he care about the wellbeing of everyone around him. Doesn’t even matter who. (dwight enys i love you forever btwww)
He takes George home, sees the situation, and basically takes George’s case as his own and fires the other doctor on George’s behalf. God they’re so fucked up about each other. George denies he needs help ever, and all Dwight wants to do is help. Anyway. Even throughout the whole series these two are wild because Dwight pulls through on so so many occasions. He sees how much George looks up to Ross. Oh I don’t even know what to say anymore.
But the fic im going to write is going to be like Ohhh Noooo George’s daughter is sick… who will he call to help… oh no… god forbid they begin to form a friendship… I’m SOOO excited to write it like I LOVEEEEEEE layered relationships in media. Sigh. The Ross roadblock in their relationship is FHFHFHRHEJAKSKALA. I can’t believe I’m writing this because Nobody cares about them but I will write it for me <3

Sketchbook Week Day 4 - Dreaming of Bumping Into You (Chapter 1)
Summary: When Johanna is woken up in the middle of the night by a strange phone call, she knows she has to ask Kaisa what is happening. She just doesn’t know which is more concerning; whether it’s the words being said or the way her best friend sounds while she’s delivering them
Notes: Written for @sketchbookweek Day 4 - Secrets
Cw: mentions of drug/alcohol use. Nobody actually uses either, they’re just fucking stupid
Listen, with the amount of songs I make sketchbook edits to in my head, I have no idea why I decided to write fanfic inspired by Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High, but when the inspiration strikes you can’t argue with it yk
Read it on ao3
“Arch sorceress Pilqvist is a disloyal, unreasonable woman. It is beyond me how she has reached such a high standing inside our order when her skull is so thick I hardly think hurling a crystal ball at it would even hurt!”
Kaisa took a deep breath. The very woman who was being slandered right in front of her had taught her that filling your lungs with air was the best thing you could do when you wanted to lash out. Not that it made the anger go away, not at all. But at least it made it so one couldn't get any impulsive words out, at least not until after one big exhale. After which you could always inhale again and stop yourself from getting cursed, punched, fired, or in her current case, probably all at once.
“Tell me again how you think insulting my mentor is going to make me help you, Ingrid.”
Her voice had been calm. Slow. The appropriate tone for a library, which, even though her boss seemed to have forgotten, they were inside at the moment. Yet the witch immediately looked angry, the red that had been steadily rising on her neck reaching her sharp cheekbones.
“You must!” She shot, glaring at how Kaisa kept her demeanour purposefully disinterested, eyelids heavy and shoulders slumped over the library cart she was walking around with for reshelving purposes. Ingrid didn’t quite like how the librarian made her follow around while she did her duty either, but that was their bad for only hiring one person for that entire building. “Matilda is the only witch who ever managed to create a spell like that with so little side effects. With the amount of trolls walking around town these days, we need it more than ever! Witchkind’s safety is at stake!”
The librarian rolled her eyes, though she didn’t think the other witch saw it. Recent… changes brought to the town by Frida and her friends had made it increasingly easy to tell apart the bigoted ones amongst them all. No matter how little interest trolls seemed to have on witchcraft and its practitioners, there were still some witches who insisted that just because their magics didn’t mix, that they shouldn’t coexist.
Which was just as bullshit as it sounded.
The Committee had called upon Tildy one day, and she’d even showed up much to everyone’s surprise. They’d explained their worries, which meant that five minutes in it wasn’t a meeting anymore, but a sass session for the older woman to make them realise how stupid they sounded. They didn’t, of course, which only meant Tildy refused to give them her prized protection spell and they didn’t give up on their quest to secure it. Leaving Kaisa in her current position.
“It’s her spell.” Kaisa said as she parked her cart between two shelves and began looking for the correct place for an eighteenth century poetry book. Her opinions on the matter were exactly like her former master’s, of course. She hadn’t witnessed Hilda show off her shifting powers like a party trick when she dined at her house just to turn around and say that trolls were dangerous. But if Tildy hadn’t come through to them, great at turning people to her side as she was, then Kaisa wasn’t going to be the one to make them see the other side of things. Besides, she was tired. The last thing she wanted was to begin a moral argument in the final leg of her already tiring work day.
There was also the issue that she didn’t actually know that spell, but hey, she didn’t need to admit that to the people that employed her, did she?
“I’m not going to spill it if she didn’t want you to have it. I’m sorry, but you’ll have to look somewhere else.” She finished, not sorry in the least but trying to keep some semblance of politeness.
Ingrid twisted her lips like she’d tasted something sour. The truth, probably. Or her own stupidity. She ran a hand through her short blonde hair to make it fall back into place.
“Hm. Lineage secret, is it?”
Nah. It was a protection spell. Tildy would probably give it to anyone who asked her nicely, if they didn’t want it for idiotic and prejudiced reasons. She’d likely made Kaisa learn it at some point, but gods knew she’d long since forgotten it.
“Yes.” She lied. “Of the utmost secrecy.”
Ingrid hummed again, and Kaisa thought she got a chill in her spine when she did so. It got draughty in the library during that time of the day, she supposed. “I see.” She said in a whisper. “I suppose I’ll just have to find it… someplace else.”
The other woman walked away, all of Kaisa’s discomfort disappearing alongside her. She breathed a sigh of relief at no longer having Ingrid’s analysing stare locked on her face like it had been for the entire conversation, finally free to listen to her songs as she worked.
For some reason, though, she still felt eyes on her all the while until she finished for the day. No matter how many times she looked behind herself, she still saw nothing, so she figured it must be the lingering unease at having been so close to one of the Committee’s most unpleasant witches (she and her sister were almost tied in Kaisa’s listing, but Abigail still took the crown for that whole Void business). Kaisa let the music blast through her headphones, getting lost in it as an antidote for those moments of stress and whispering along to the lyrics.
”The mirror’s image tells me it’s home time…”
…......
A couple years before, when Hilda (whose name she did not know at the time, of course, but a blue haired girl is hard to miss even at such a large library) began showing up to ask for books and advice, so did her mother. It took them an embarrassingly long time to realise that Kaisa was the librarian who Hilda always talked about and that Johanna was the mother the girl mentioned when they were together, but once they did, it took the two women no time to bond over their fondness for the girl and her group of friends, over their routines, their tastes and struggles. After Johanna had made her promise to never again give her daughter any dangerous magical devices, that was.
They had become, at the very least, friends. And Kaisa thought that with no small amount of weight to that statement, because she really couldn’t remember the last time she’d been so sure she could call someone that. But there was a line, you see. Most friendships didn’t have that line, that boundary just within eyesight that they were sure that once it was crossed, it would no longer be a platonic friendship but a romance. Most friendships didn’t have it, because when friends trusted that that’s what they were, and that was how they would be free to express the extent of their love to its fullest, then all you can see, all around you, is that friendship, as far as you can reach.
Not them, though. Both of them were very aware of that border, well aware that their love for one another was extremely capable of taking another shape, one that would actually let them breathe freely and satiate the longing inside them.
There was a line. They were aware of the line. And they kept tip-toeing on it and jumping back each time. Scared of what would happen if they crossed it. Scared of what the other would think.
Personally, Kaisa would love to rip the blasted line out of the ground and use it as something more interesting. An aisle for one of them to walk towards the other on, for example. She’d had quite enough of catching herself sighing yearningly at the window on sunny days and squealing when her phone pinged with a message from her. And that was to say nothing of the embarrassing (-ly frequent) daydreams. She felt she’d had quite enough of pining being a woman almost in her thirties.
The thing was, taking the first step wasn’t something Kaisa was willing to do. Not right now, at least. Johanna might only be a couple of years older than her, but she felt like the woman was aeons ahead of her. She was mature and well resolved, independent and capable of taking care of herself, her daughter, and however many magical creatures there currently were in her house. How could Kaisa, in all sincerity, offer herself up for a woman like that in her current state, knowing she’d end up as nothing more than another source of trouble for her?
No. Kaisa was willing to wait. She rather thought Johanna was too, judging by how that line kept being played with. They’d get to crossing it, well and properly. But first, she wanted to get a little closer to being the person she thought Johanna deserved. A little braver. A little more put together. A little less worried about what people who didn’t give a single damn about her well being thought of her. And she was making progress, she really was. But until then, that uneasy friendship would be more than enough. She’d take it and be grateful it was even being offered, making sure to show her appreciation for Johanna’s presence in her life every single day.
Which was why when the woman showed up at the library that morning, wringing her hands together in anxiety and with a frown between her eyebrows, Kaisa immediately dropped what she’d been doing to go talk to her.
“Hey, Anna, good morning.” She greeted in a soft tone of voice, making her startle slightly upon noticing Kaisa’s presence. The librarian had approached her from behind, but even so she thought the behaviour was slightly off. She was never this jumpy, was she? “Everything alright?”
There were a couple of moments when Kaisa genuinely wondered if she was talking to the wrong person. Maybe there was some bizarrely accurate Johanna lookalike in town now and she just hadn’t been aware. The point was, a full twenty seconds must have passed in which Johanna said and did nothing other than stare at Kaisa with that same frown she’d walked in with.
“Johanna?”
“Yes, I’m fine.” She answered at last, but her voice didn’t sound at all certain. “I’m… it’s alright. Thank you for asking. But what about you?”
Kaisa quirked an eyebrow. As soon as Johanna had been broken out of her unexpected stupor, she’d begun leading them to the library’s break room, where the workers could go should they need some water, coffee, or just to sit down and not to interact with people for a bit. So essentially Kaisa’s personal personal winding down and chugging coffee corner. They’d been there many times before, chatting until after the library’s closing hours about anything at all. However, when Kaisa was about to sit down on one of the ancient armchairs, she turned back to see that Johanna was still standing by the doorway, looking at her feet and shifting her weight between them.
“Is it okay if we stay out here?”
Her lifted eyebrow melted into a frown as Kaisa walked out of the break room again.
“Well, sure we can, but what’s going on?”
“Nothing.” Johanna said, too quickly. “We’re okay, I promise. I just popped by to ask you if you were fine.”
Kaisa’s heart did a flip inside her chest. Which was very uncomfortable, considering a structure tied to so many vases wasn’t supposed to be moving around much at all. The words sounded reassuring, but they hit her as anything but. When she saw Johanna walk in like that, she’d assumed something had happened and that she could help, even if only by listening to her. Now the thought at the forefront of her mind was that she’d messed up somehow. Because she hadn’t even considered that they might not be fine, but now she sure as hell was doing it.
“What, me? Sure I am.” She closed the break room door behind herself, figuring that if the idea of going in there made Johanna uncomfortable she should eliminate the possibility altogether. “I mean, I am normal. I woke up at the normal time and came to my normal job that I do every day. Little pissed that I just had to ask a group of teenagers to be quiet, but that’s it. I’m not sure I understand your question.”
Johanna still wouldn’t look at her, which was off putting. Kaisa was the one who liked to look away when they talked, only because it made it easier for her to concentrate on the conversation, but she could always feel Johanna’s eyes on her. This time, Kaisa actively tried to catch her gaze, wondering if looking at her eyes would give her any explanations to the way she was acting, but without success.
The woman cleared her throat. “It’s just… last night, when you called me. You sounded a little… out of it. And I wanted to check that you were fine and safe.”
Kaisa blinked. Stared at her. Continued staring at her until Johanna finally looked at her face and saw her own confusion reflected back. She looked a little embarrassed, a light pink colour painting her cheeks and the bridge of her nose.
“I didn’t call you.”
“What?”
“Johanna, I didn’t call you. As far as I’m concerned, the last time we talked was when we went to the bake shop two days ago. When was this call?”
Now, the librarian wasn’t trying to gaslight her. She didn’t think Johanna was crazy, much less a liar. But neither was Kaisa an amnesiac, so she’d probably remember calling the woman she was head over heels for; there had to be a logical explanation for this.
“Roughly at three in the morning, I think.” Johanna answered, looking uncertain in the face of Kaisa’s conviction even though she sounded actually sure of the time she was informing. Kaisa snorted.
“Well, I have no idea who that was, but I can assure you you’re not looking at them.”
“But it was your voice.”
“Anna, I go to sleep at nine thirty and wake up at six. I do that religiously, because otherwise I become a massive bitch come morning.”
“Well-” Johanna looked like she was getting uncomfortable in a different way now, being put in the spot like that. Kaisa softened. She’d assumed that assuring her that she wasn’t responsible for whatever that was would make the situation easier on her. But come think of it, being phoned by a stranger that could pass as one of your closest friends couldn’t be too soothing either. “I thought you might not remember because, well, you sounded-”
Kaisa nodded for her to go on once she looked insecure about whether she should finish that sentence. Johanna did so with a whisper.
“Affected?”
Johanna looked at her expectantly, making Kaisa feel bad that she could offer her nothing other than even more confusion. She’d need to make herself more clear if she wanted anything out of the witch.
“Sorry, affected by…?”
“Well-” Johanna rubbed her neck, looking around them, and the ceiling, down again. Everywhere but at Kaisa. “I don’t know. Alcohol. Drugs. Something like that. Not that I’m judging!” She put her hands in front of herself immediately, and if she took the chance to really take in Kaisa’s face she’d see how that possibility was even weirder to her than it was to Johanna. “But I was just worried about how you might be. So. Yeah.”
Kaisa wanted to be helpful. She really did. But Johanna had just asked someone whose ideas of reckless behaviour ranged from waking up the dead to skipping dinner to eat jorts, and nowhere in that spectrum was partying hard and using any sort of substance. It was hard to even take her worry over her seriously, which was a shame, since under any other circumstances Kaisa would have been over the moon with such a treatment.
“Johanna. Look at me.” She did. “Under what circumstances can you imagine me getting high at three a.m.?”
It was her right arm instead of her neck that she rubbed in anxiety this time. “Well, none, but-”
They stared at each other, Johanna with an anxious look and Kaisa with a compassionate one. Eventually, she sighed.
“You’re right. It must have been a dream.” Her shoulders slumped. “Oh, gosh, this is so embarrassing. I’m sorry, Kaisa.”
Her friend laughed, glad that apparently there wasn’t even a problem to be solved. Maybe now they could have their coffee and some regular chatting.
“Don’t stress about it. I should be flattered you’re dreaming about me.”
Kaisa walked back into the break room, heading straight to the coffee machine to brew a new batch. In doing so, she failed to notice how Johanna still lingered by the doorframe, watching her for any signs of untruthfulness or discomfort.
Through gritted teeth, the woman whispered to her own ears only. “You have no idea…”
…......
Kaisa got deja vu often. She supposed it was a mix of her brain loving to make associations and the fact that all witches had some future telling abilities, even if hers were quite weak, so she supposed there were some things in her life that she had seen before, even if at the back of her mind, a simple suggestion made by that more magical part of her consciousness.
That particular image, however, she was very sure she had seen before, and when, and where. It had been at that same place, at the same time, the very day before.
This morning, however, when Johanna spotted her, she clutched her purse strap closer to herself, making Kaisa halt her approach. She only ever did that when she was scared.
Was she scared of… Kaisa?
The thought hit her like a knife between her shoulder blades, but she still put on a smile for her. She didn’t get any closer, though. It was best to let Johanna approach her.
She didn’t. She stood there, two metres away like she was talking to a stranger. The knife twisted inside her.
“It happened again.” She said, sounding surer than she had the day before. “I was awake. I checked. Nothing happened when I pinched myself and my fingers and clocks looked normal. I wrote a note saying it was real and it was still there when I woke up this morning.”
Kaisa sighed. “Anna, I don’t know what to tell you. I didn’t call you. I certainly didn’t get drunk, or high. It must have been a prank of some sort.”
Johanna’s mouth twisted, like she was trying to bite something back. “Yes. It must have been.”
The witch dared to take a step forward; only one, though, because Johanna immediately tensed. Someone else might not have noticed it, but Kaisa couldn’t not.
“Are you… angry at me, Anna?”
Her voice was harsher than Kaisa had ever heard it before when she answered. “No. Why would I be angry at you for something you didn’t do?”
“I have no idea, but you sure as hell sound like it right now.”
“Why do you look tired?” Johanna snapped, shoulders squared back though the displeasure at acting like that was written clearly on her face. Kaisa gaped.
“Because I am borderline anaemic and wake up every day at six, maybe? You can’t really be mad at me right now, Anna. I know it must be weird to be prank called in the middle of the night and everything, not to mention whatever the hell they’re telling you to get you this worked up, but I didn’t do anything!”
Her stare grew harder, those brown eyes suddenly reminding her solid mountains, peaks so high one couldn’t ever hope to reach. But then moisture began to gather at the corners, and Johanna looked down quickly. Just not quickly enough for Kaisa to not have seen it.
“You never do, do you?” She whispered and walked quickly out of the library, leaving a befuddled librarian behind herself.
…......
One of the things Johanna missed the most about living out in the wilderness was the quiet. Since they’d moved to Trolberg, she’d hardly ever managed to have a single night’s sleep that was as peaceful as when the only sounds that could be heard during the night were of the owls and cicadas, the forest’s own little lullaby for its only two human inhabitants to hear. It wasn’t like Trolberg was some big metropolis where they were subjected to the noise of traffic jams and drunken yelling in the early hours of the morning, of course. But it wasn’t the same. There was always an odd motorcycle, or the footsteps of their upstairs neighbour, the sound of a television when someone in their building turned to it after having trouble sleeping.
And, for the past two nights, there had been the blasted ringing of their landline.
The first time, she’d found it beyond weird. Nobody ever called them at that time of the day (well, night). But the phone would have kept ringing had she not picked up, and she didn’t want it to disturb Hilda. So Johanna had dragged herself out of bed, mumbling and rubbing at her eyes, and walked to the kitchen to simply tell whoever was at the other side of the line that they had the wrong number and hang up.
It didn’t go like that, however. Because as soon as her ear was on the speaker, a voice she knew slurred her name.
“Kaisa?!” She’d whispered with urgency, figuring from the time of the call and from her clearly subdued voice that something was wrong. “What’s the matter?”
She hadn’t answered for a couple of seconds, but Johanna knew she was still there. She could hear her breathing.
“I’m in love with you.” Kaisa sighed eventually, in a dreamy voice. “That’s the matter.”
Since the whole point of picking that call at all was not waking Hilda up, Johanna had to make a lot of effort to be silent when she choked on air at that statement. Her face heated up immediately and she gripped the phone’s handle, looking around herself to make sure there was no one near and listening. As if that would help. If either Tontu or Alfur really wanted to listen in, there would really be nothing she’d be able to do about it.
That was not how she’d imagined this conversation going.
“What?” She whispered into the microphone. “Kaisa, that’s lovely-” She mentally slapped herself. What kind of reaction to ‘I’m in love with you’ was that? Kaisa deserved better. But then, Johanna had also thought she deserved at least a face to face confession, though she should probably consider herself lucky to be getting one at all. “- but why are you telling me this right now?”
“I can’t tell you this.” Kaisa continued, which Johanna hardly thought could be considered an answer to her question. Her voice was distant, the cadence unlike it had been in any of the times they’d been together previously. Still, Johanna knew it to be her voice. She’d recognize it anywhere. “I can’t tell you that I want you close at all times. I can’t tell you that you’re the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. I can’t even tell you I want to know everything about you. Because I’m not… not ready. You deserve someone better than me, and I’m not ready.”
Her tone wasn’t emotional. For all that she was saying, she didn’t sound like she was making a confession, but like she was listing facts. Johanna was sure her face must be completely red at that point, her heart picking up a speed she wasn’t entirely sure was healthy. She still had just enough reason to be able to tell that none of that sounded normal.
“Kaisa, love, tell me what’s going on.” She urged. They’d hung out not a full 48 hours before. Kaisa had been acting normally around her and showing no signs of wanting to confess an avalanche of deeply buried feelings. Something had to have happened.
“I know it’s selfish of me, but I want to be with you anyway.” Another string of words that sounded like they barely had any thought given to them as they were pushed out of Kaisa’s mouth. It wasn’t an answer. The witch had probably not even heard her. “I want to wake up with you and cook with you and come home to you at the end of the day-”
Oh, gods.
“I want to be someone you can call yours-”
Kaisa was high, wasn’t she?
“Kaisa, where are you?” Johanna attempted once more, even though the confessions didn’t stop coming from the other end of the line. “Do you need to be picked up? Are you safe? Are you home?”
Nothing. Well, not nothing. A lot, really, but only a lot of sappy feelings that had nothing to do with Kaisa’s current state at all.
It must have gone on for half an hour. Johanna didn’t know how to make her stop, and figured that at least she knew Kaisa was fine as long as she was speaking to her on her phone. There was of course also the fact that she’d waited for so long to hear those things that she was too selfish to hang up now, even if these were far from the circumstances she would have preferred. After she’d seemed to run out of things to say, Kaisa asked in just as distant of a voice.
“What do you think?”
Johanna took a deep breath. She’d sat down on the floor at some point, the landline’s cable extended to allow her to do so.
“I think you need to rest, my dear.” She uttered softly, still worried. “We can talk about it when you’re better.”
The line went silent. Kaisa had hung up.
Johanna still sat there, cradling the phone’s handle and looking straight ahead with an unfocused case for a few more minutes. She had no idea how to process what had just happened. Kaisa had just said everything Johanna could have asked for in her most self centred fantasies, and more. But she didn’t feel ecstatic like she should. She felt hollow. Because of the context, she felt foolish, even. That night, she’d gone to bed and her only thought had been ‘what now?’
But then she’d showed up at the library, and Kaisa had acted exactly as she would have any other day. Like nothing had happened. Like she hadn’t gotten high as a kite and declared her undying love in the dead of night. And she’d been so sure of it too, without any signs of any unusual activities the night before, even. Johanna had let herself be convinced it was only a dream. That would have made sense, right? Only in dreams did people’s crushes confess to them like they were writing a love letter. In Johanna’s case, only in dreams did people confess to her at all. She should have known better.
Except it had happened again the night after that. Johanna had made sure to check everything that could give away that she was dreaming, but everything around her looked perfectly… real. Except for Kaisa. Her voice drifting from the phone, saying how much she craved to have her near, couldn’t possibly belong to reality. And yet, it did.
Not that any of it had helped matters when she’d come to talk to Kaisa about it. Depending on what substance she’d been on, it would have made sense for her to forget what had happened. That wasn’t the issue here; had it all been handled differently, Johanna should have been happy to wait for as long as the witch needed for her to actually admit her feelings. But all she’d been met with was vehement denial. Maybe she was ashamed, but going so far as to imply that Johanna was wrong, or lying? Implying that it could be a random prankster had her at the end of her rope. As if Johanna could ever mistake Kaisa’s voice for anyone else’s. At that point it was as entangled in her mind as the sounds of the forest or of her pencil on sheets of paper.
All of that only allowed her to arrive at one conclusion. That it was deliberate.
For the third night straight, Johanna forced her legs to take her to the kitchen. Her head hurt; it had been difficult to fall asleep again after the calls, leaving her exhausted physically as well as emotionally. She hoped it would be something different this time. That maybe Kaisa had come to her senses and would admit that she was drunk, or high, or just plain sorry.
She hoped for anything other than what she got.
“I’ve fallen for you harder than I thought I could. I didn’t know I could like someone this much.”
Johanna groaned. Groaned. Because somehow her biggest dream had turned into a nightmare in the matter of three days. Was loving her such an embarrassing thing that it could only be mentioned in the dead of night? No, that wouldn’t make sense. Kaisa would at least act coy if that was the case, give her the slightest indication that she did mean what she’d said or that she even remembered what she’d said. For her to sound like that, to say all that, and to vehemently deny it only left Johanna with one conclusion.
For two nights, she’d withstood that. It had to be some sort of joke, and a cruel one at that. To force her to hear everything she wanted, only to see that it changed nothing come daylight. It was torture. And it was clever. Clever because it hit exactly where it hurt, because it would drive Johanna insane while leaving Kaisa safe in her bubble of plausible deniability. All that was left to assume was that Kaisa had actually found out that Johanna had feelings for her and was using it to make fun of her. Maybe she wouldn’t do it when she had full control of herself, but apparently whatever she was using to make her sound like that made the allure of the prank too sweet for her. And then, come morning, she must remember it and deny ever using anything at all, either because she knew what she was capable of under the influence or because she was well aware of the game she was playing and wanted to continue at it.
It was a joke, and Johanna was at the butt of it. She had to remind herself of this. Because otherwise, she’d never have been able to finally, on that third night, hang up on Kaisa while she uttered the most lovely words Johanna had ever heard.
…......
Everything had changed since the last time they’d talked. Johanna didn’t invite her out anymore. She didn’t stop by the library to see her ‘just because’. She didn’t go anywhere Kaisa frequented at all, at least not while she was there. She didn’t even answer her texts or pick up her phone. And the worst part was, Kaisa didn’t even know what she’d done. She knew she needn’t worry for the other woman, since the trio was at the library often and that gave Kaisa a chance to ask Hilda about her mother. Given that the girl had taken to glaring at her before saying Johanna was fine, thank you very much, she was left to believe she must have screwed up somehow, even if she couldn’t figure it out.
She’d resisted all of two weeks under these circumstances before she’d caved. Her mind screamed at her that she was being stupid all the while her feet were taking her to the apartment complex where she’d spent so many enjoyable evenings drinking tea and giggling over nothing, but she ignored it. Johanna should be the one to reach out to her and tell her what she’d done to deserve being ghosted like that, should look at her in the eyes and tell her how Kaisa could be better for her. But she hadn’t done so, and Kaisa couldn’t take it anymore. She wanted her best friend. And if that meant swallowing her fear and her pride, well. She’d been the one to screw up in the first place, hadn’t she?
Probably.
At least she’d resisted the urge to buy flowers before heading there. The art of toeing the blasted line lied at the mixed messages peppered in every gesture that could be interpreted as romantic, and she rather didn’t think there’d be anything mixed or up to interpretation about giving another woman a bouquet of white roses.
Kaisa knocked on her door, knowing that the woman must be home since it was still early enough for her to have interrupted her self-imposed work hours. She’d managed to sneak away from the library earlier than usual precisely for that reason, even if Johanna didn’t go out much either way. Her voice came from the other side, a soft ‘coming!’ muffled by the wall between them. When the door was opened. Johanna was wearing a carefully crafted serene expression. Which melted away immediately at the sight of Kaisa.
To the witch’s absolute horror, Johanna stepped away from her.
“Oh.” She breathed, her voice guarded. “It’s you.”
What the hell is that supposed to mean?, she wanted to scream. Instead, she frowned and nodded. “Yes. Hi, Anna.”
“What do you want?” Johanna snapped, crossing her arms. She didn’t sound or look pissed, though, only sad and even scared as she looked at Kaisa’s feet rather than her face. And tired. Very tired.
So was Kaisa, if she was honest. She hadn’t woken up feeling truly rested in weeks.
“Well-” Kaisa struggled for something to say. Johanna had always been the more well spoken between the two of them. She’d truly thought that she’d arrive here and only have to listen to her explain what was going on. Having to actually voice anything hadn’t been part of her plan. “Isn’t it obvious?”
The woman’s face snapped to her at that, anger in her eyes. Kaisa had never seen her like this. But then, she supposed, she’d never hurt the woman before either.
“If you’re going to tell me the same thing as the last times, just give up.” She stated, making sure her shoulders were set back, voice a lot less unwavering than she would have liked. “I’m not going to let you treat me like this.”
Kaisa gaped at her. “Wait.” She lifted a hand, suddenly feeling anger rise up in her own chest. “This is still about the prank calls you’ve been getting?”
No matter how strongly Kaisa felt she was the one who should be offended here, Johanna’s furrowed brows and pursed lips told her very clearly how affronted she was that Kaisa would have the gall to react the way she did.
“Stop it. I won’t hear you out if you’re only going to lie either. You should be going.”
“Yes, I really should, shouldn’t I?” Kaisa snapped, surprising both of them with the fire in her voice. She truly wasn’t able to help it in the face of Johanna’s coldness. For her friend - and calling her that now felt like a mockery to what they had - to toss her away like that without even hearing her out, she could only have been looking for a reason to fight with her. Just waiting for an excuse to get rid of the witch. Well, Kaisa wasn’t about to get in her way.
She turned her back to her and walked back the way she came with all the certainty she didn’t feel, letting the hurt drive her away. She’d thought Johanna was the better one between the two of them. She thought that she’d at least have been given a reason, an explanation, or a proper conversation instead of just being accused over nothing for the woman to justify throwing their friendship away to herself. Didn’t matter, though. Not anymore.
The sound of her shoes on the building’s staircase was loud as she stomped away. Loud enough to drown out the sound of Johanna’s sniffles.
…......
The phone rang, like it always did, at three in the morning. The headache that had been her companion for many days now screamed at the sound. Johanna was already awake, of course. Her body had developed some sort of pavlovian response and she now always woke up exactly at 2:55 a.m., anxious about her daughter being startled out of her slumber by the ringing.
She got up from the couch wearily, and picked it up. After a couple of seconds of looking at it, she actually brought it to her ears. After the third time, she’d taken to leaving it on the counter for about half an hour, before placing it back onto the hook. It wasn’t like Kaisa was ever interested in what she had to say, anyway, so it didn’t really matter, and Johanna was afraid she’d ring again if she just hung up on her. But she’d actually showed up that afternoon. Hadn’t acknowledged what she’d been doing, sure, hadn’t apologised or offered a semblance of an explanation. She’d even yelled at her, considering the standard low volume that her voice usually had. But maybe that meant she was willing to rethink, willing to maybe take a step back and undo this mess. Maybe she’d come to her senses at last, maybe she’d stopped using whatever had been making her act like that.
With foolish hope, Johanna dared to listen to her voice one last time.
“Hi, Johanna.” Said the dreamy, far away voice. So not sober, then. “I love you. Every time you smile at me I feel like I’m flying-”
She wanted to scream. Nothing had changed. Nothing would change. And Johanna was exhausted, from this dance, from this heartbreak, from not knowing when was the last time she had slept peacefully without being woken up by this blatant and cruel ridicule.
She listened. Johanna actually was pathetic enough to listen to twenty more minutes of Kaisa saying exactly how she felt every time they were together, because she wasn’t sure she’d ever hear that voice again. And when she could finally bring herself to, she put the phone handle on the kitchen counter, and opened one of the kitchen drawers.
The scissors were exactly where she always left them. They were only ever used to open up food packages, but that didn’t matter. They managed to cut the landline’s cable just fine.
…......
It had been a long time coming. Truly, what had led her to believe a woman as lovely as Johanna would want to give her the time of the day? Maybe she’d enjoyed it for a couple of months. She might have only been doing it to be charitable, making an awkward loner like Kaisa feel like she had someone to rely on. But it hadn’t lasted, because how could it? Kaisa was who she was, and nobody could stand her for long. Eventually, people realised they couldn’t change her. They realised she was too annoying, too boring, too offputting to stand. And if Johanna had chosen that way to break them off, did she really have the right to be angry? She’d probably been giving her signs she didn’t want Kaisa nearby for ages, but Kaisa never took a hint, did she?
It made sense, now. Johanna didn’t blush when Kaisa complimented her because she liked it. It was because she made her uncomfortable. Her eyes didn’t widen when Kaisa asked her out because she was pleased. She’d merely been caught without an excuse to refuse. She didn’t tease Kaisa about her quirks because she found them charming. They were either attempts at getting her to change her habits or straight up jabs, hidden behind sweet words and a honeyed voice.
There was no line. There had never been a line. Kaisa was just delusional and pushing for something she’d never have. Kaisa was unlovable. She knew she was unlovable, and had accepted that a long time ago. It was her own fault for letting gentle touches and soft spoken affirmations convince her otherwise, her own fault for being so utterly incapable of making alright decisions, her own fault for only ever having bad ideas.
Gods, she was drained.

The blonde trio after the Quirk War
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So I did a continuation of the my previous Villain Aoyama AU art lmao. Ig it’s not rly an AU canonically?? (Though idk how the manga has been handling my boi since I dropped it after his reveal oop) anywayyssssss…..these babies now have to live with new identities and frequently change jobs every year in order to keep a low profile.
Monoma works as a Cab/Taxi driver and street food chef(think like hole in the wall restaurant?/place with frequent customers but within the backstreets of cities) Toga is a Sales Clerk💀(don’t ask how she even managed to get the job, the hiring manager was probably too scared by her aura to refuse her) AND Tutor(don’t ask how she landed that either since she never got to finish high school to begin with) and Aoyama works as a Bartender in a HOST CLUB(Kurogiri helped him land the job and taught him some cool stuff from his experience of working their dingy bar they used to live in with the LOV[which has since been disbanded after the quirk war].
Btw I added the “Kumo/Kuro” bc Shirakumo and Kurogiri get it? Idrk why I decided to add him in last minute but I thought it’d be funny if he pretended/acted to be their dad when they escape during their trial and onto living in the streets (for the sake of being brief: which ends in them faking their own deaths. I thought to make an art of the events leading up to this but who knows how long that will take me or when I’ll get to it🗿it is also pretty gruesome with the way I imagined it for my AU so I’m not sure if many people would even be up for seeing that oop)
They have to frequently dye their hair since they can easily be recognized by just their blonde hair and facial features, which is also why Monoma and Toga wear color contacts. Aoyama doesn’t need them since he wore different colored contacts when he became a student at UA, so there’s no need for them since everyone remembered him to have the color contact eyes instead of his natural green eyes.
They all will work multiple part time jobs to keep up with their rent and budget etc. However there are times where they will all quit to just take time to themselves. They all live together in the same apartment. Everyone also thinks they are dead, so there’s no need for them to really hide, but they’re too traumatized by heroes and their peers(hero students) to not stay in the hidden parts of towns and cities and lowkey jobs. There’s more to that on the “trial” I imagined for them (I dropped the manga some time ago but I heard that my baby Aoyama may POSSIBLY get actual time in prison for his affiliation and that was the forefront of the idea I came up with that they would all go through a trial process as they are still just children)
ALSO, in my AU Aoyama ends up with Dark shadow at some point (don’t question it I’m still trying to figure out how to fit it in so it makes sense👩🏽‍🦯, but they sort of form a bond and Dark Shadow develops depression after his “death”. He does go back to Tokoyami at some point after Aoyama realizes that Toko must be in ruins not having his best bud anymore and ‘gives’ him back?
I also mentioned that this is AFTER the “quirk war” I’m not sure if they actually use that title but from what I remember they distinctly called it that when I last read the manga. I could be wrong though.
One last thing, idk how the whole Oboro thing would work out, since he can use his quirk on command in this(hence the lack of purple mist) but technically he IS dead canonically….LIKE FRFR. Bro ain’t coming back and his body was just harvested and being used, but ignore that for this……he was just in a deep slumber and awoke after breaking out of the high security quirk prison he was in and decided to take care of the three because he would’ve wanted someone to do the same for him when he was younger and “died”.😫🖤
I know I write a lot so I highly doubt anyone read all of this😅but it’s so hard to JUST post my art and NOT WRITE ANYTHING since they all spawn from these ideas I get and I NEED to provide the context lmao Σ('◉⌓◉’)otherwise I feel wack that no one will ever know what I was aiming for lol🥲

Kakashi Hatake (Naruto) Propaganda
He joined the lower ranks of the Ninja-Military at like five and then Dudes Father killed himself, he does not have a mother, when he was like six because he was bullied to death by the entire village for refusing to heed a rule that would have made him sacrifice a teammate of his.
After that he lived alone in the house where his Father killed himself and got like an obsession with not breaking the rules and they just let the kid keep running around in the Ninja-Military and a teammate of his "killed" right after he went "maybe sacrificing people for missions isn't good" pushing him out of the way of a bunch of rocks and then he got his dead teammates Red Ninja Eye transplated into his skull.
His other teammate killed herself by impaling herself in his hand in order to protect the village because she had a creature implanted into her that was supposed to come out and destroy everything, kinda like a living bomb.
I think this all happened before he was approximately thirteen.
And you know, there's only one more thing you can do now, as his teacher who's the highest governmental authority in the village and also dies by the way decided. Put him into the super secret (everyone knows about them) assassin murder furry corps. Where he spent like a decade before being spontaniously kicked out to go from professional government Killer to Teacher of possibly the most fucked group of children known to men, two third of which are tied to people from his past.
He's like twenty-seven and just another Orphan in Orphan Town. There is no one in your way, custody is ripe for the taking.
I'll be honest, I haven't seen Naruto, but I do know a good part of the Lore through other means. The guy reminds me of a rescue dog.
Qiqi (genshin impact) Propaganda
My girl tragically died trapped in a cave due to a demon battle, dying with sad thoughts so sad it gave her a Cryo vision. The Adepti felt bad so they revived her, but she came back as a murderous zombie so they had to seal her in amber for a long time. When she finally came out, she was peaceful but has a terrible memory and must follow commands now. In order to break her out of a command that makes her “stuck”, she has to be hugged and told that she’s loved… and when her main guardian tries it, it doesn’t work. And poor Qiqi has become the poster girl of “losing the 50/50” within the fandom, there’s even a whole lamenting song about “I pulled a Qiqi”. Well maybe I *want* a C6 Qiqi and am frustrated I keep pulling Keqing and Tighnari!
Venus (solarballs) Propaganda
Cute lil grumpy planet that has a gruff voice n hates being called by his namez meaning!!
Bernadetta von Varley (Fire Emblem) Propaganda
My Beautiful Bernie Bear! She needs to be swaddled in the comfiest blankets and gifted all the stuffed animals and insectivorous plants in the world. Her dad was super abusive beating her friends and tying her to chairs and her mom hired someone to kidnap her to send her to the officers academy. There she’s basically a child soldier but at least she’s away from her parents and gets a real found family.
She has so much anxiety and is constantly paranoid of everything so she spends most of the game locked in her room. She only comes out on specific occasions and in the one route where she feels comfortable.
She’s often the first person I talk to each in game month and she’s such a joy. She’s so creative and kind and ah! I want to adopt her so bad!
Also one of the ways people use her in game is to keep her at as low health as possible and that’s so mean and I need to protect her.

Am I The Asshole For Refusing To Die?  (AITA D&D Edition)
First some Background.  When I(25f) was 12 years old, a gang of monster hunters broke into my dad’s lair and killed him.  My mom and I escaped through one of the secret passages he’d built into the lair, while my dad was busy roasting the monster hunters with his lightning breath (dad was a 2000+ year old Bronze dragon).  After my dad was killed, my mom and I ended up settling in a small town with an active smuggler community.  Mom ended up as the top lieutenant to the head of the largest smuggling operation in the city, and I was one of their best forgers, so it was a pretty sweet set up.  Not as nice as living in a dragons lair, but still, we were doing pretty well.  I even got a nice Tiefling girlfriend.
About 8 years after my dad died, I was out for the night with my girl, and this guy, call him Smugface (fake name) killed my mom, her boss, and all the boss’s lieutenants.  I found out about it the next morning when I found one of Smugface’s goons dumping my mom’s body in the trash outside her boss’s headquarters.  I killed the good and took his gun, then loaded up my mom’s body in a stolen wagon, and buried her next to my dad in his lair.  Then I went back to town, swearing vengeance on Smugface for killing my mom.
The whole experience messed me up.  I broke up with my girlfriend because I thought maybe Smugface hired her to lure me out of position so it would be easier to kill my mom and her boss, and since Smugface took over the smuggling ring, I was out of work, and had to take jobs smuggling stuff across the desert instead of on ships.
Since then, I’ve built up a good reputation as one of the best couriers on the sand sea, but I can’t go more than about four months or so without Smugface sending someone to kill me, which is annoying.  But every time I send a piece of one of his goons back to him to let him know I’ve killed his latest assassin, he acts like I’m the one in the wrong.  I’m like, ‘Hello, they were trying to kill me.  What am I supposed to do, just stand there and not kill them first?’
Seriously, I just sent back the fifteenth assassin’s ears about 6 months, and word on the street at the time was that Smugface upped the price on my head by another hundred gold pieces.  I don’t think I’ve done anything wrong.  Dad always told me that if anyone tries to kill you, you kill them first.  I’m just trying to follow dad’s advice, but after the fifteenth time Smugface has thrown a fit, I’m starting to wonder, Am I the Asshole for non dying?
Edit:  I know I said he usually sends a new assassin once every four months, but the city state we live in got caught in the middle of a civil war, and that’s been taking up most of Smugface’s time, while I’m trying to destroy the death cult that engineered the coup that started the civil war in the first place.
Edit Number 2:  For those who are asking, no, it turns out my girlfriend wasn’t working for him.  I found out recently that Smugface was trying to kill me that night.  Turns out the head of the monster hunter gang was actually one of the leaders of a cult worshiping a death god (same one that started the civil war at home), and they wanted me dead because killing me with break a magic spell that was cast a thousand years ago to imprison their death god.  The GF and I got back together.  We ever have our own flying ship now.  My GF is the captain of the ship, and my other friend and I are leading a coalition of 7 armies to kill the death god.
Edit Number 3:  Guys, the bit about leading an army wasn’t me bragging or anything.  It’s the shittiest job you can imagine.  Long hours, high stress, people trying to kill my all the time (that part isn’t *too* different).  I’m a fucking mailman.  I have no idea what I’m doing, but everyone looks at me like I’m some kind of champion out of the sagas, off to save the world.  I tried to explain that I won the last battle by sitting on the general of the opposing army, but everyone thinks that’s impressive somehow just because I turned into a dragon first.  I’m like, “Hello, my dad was a dragon, how is this not normal?”, but everyone still looks at me like I’m some sort of hero, when all I want to do is crawl in a nice, damp seaside cave and nap for a couple of centuries.
