man I really wish they’d put more effort into the originality of alhaitham’s kit and not dedicated a whole ass idle to shipper bait, but he’s looking t0 (for the non-genshiners that’s just like. the top tier of damage) and I’m so happy about that. I haven’t really connected with a dps character despite being a dps lover so I have had to build supports as dps units for over a year. (I started playing the game for thoma. he was my first main. I played him as a dps. if you know how crazy I am you know how crazy I am.)

we’re still early in beta so while I doubt they’ll really. fix the lack of originality in a lot of his kit I do think his fucked up cons have a good chance to be fixed when they realize they are just. not good. as far as I can tell they’re a hot contradictory mess. and his weapon might get buffed too bc it’s a marginal increase in stats over other weapons, though it IS already very good.

apparently beta testers are complaining about being disappointed with him so. hoping that translates to some good changes. I want my t0 dps without sacrificing the character we got to know during the archon quest to unoriginal copypaste kits and fuckin. character assassination by ship pandering. sick and tired of the genshin fandom just putting two guys they think are hot/ two women they think are hot next to each other just for fetishization when either nothing in canon even slightly hints at them KNOWING each other or they explicitly straight up hate each other/make each other’s lives worse.

I just look at how much love they’ve put into other characters like wanderer and go Man Where Is That Energy Now. they had BETTER at least go into the blatant deshret connections alhaitham has in his story quest. but I’m expecting that to just be ship bait too considering how much a certain character seems to show up.

The coffee addict never sleeps perpetually tired Tim Drake thing is a widely accepted headcanon however that was elementary school tim but after he stayed up for a week straight subsisting entirely on coffee to decipher the bat weekly patrol schedule and how it aligns with rogue attacks/Arkham breakouts, he crashed then when he woke up it was fucking wednesday so he missed his chance to commemorate his discovery with pictures of Robin and he decided that shit would never happen again and made himself an ‘efficient’ sleep schedule so he could run around doing fuck shit, add to his robin shrine, and stay on honor roll bc he was even more pissed to see the gotham gazette had pictures of Robin with an on site interview credited to Vicki Vale (listen bowl cut tim had a one sided beef with vicki vale that included tim judging who gets better pics of the bats but she isn’t even aware that she’s competing with a whole ass child 😭 he’s sitting at the table with a mug of orange juice and looks at the newspaper snorts and goes ‘fucking amateur I could do better’)

Yj has just accepted that sometimes they will find tim in an air vent, on the roof, in one of their closets, or something just fucking knocked out then an alarm will go off and he’ll just get up like nothing happened but for the first couple of months they were probably concerned bc ‘I’ve never seen you sleep?? wtf are you on man’ and Tim’s confused bc ‘I slept next to you this morning wdym??’ and that’s how yj discovers tim sleeps with his eyes open

But one of the worst things about Tim’s ‘time efficient sleep schedule’ nonsense is that it fucking works he’s one of the most well rested and coherent bats even after back to back Arkham breakouts however the absolute worst thing about his sleep schedule is the likelihood of going into the cave and seeing tim staring in a daze but wide eyed yet somehow never blinking at the batcomputer with 57 tabs open on top of being unresponsive and thinking he has a fucking concussion or he’s been replaced but he’s just doing case work while muttering nonsense in his fucking sleep for some reason

Sometimes I want something that’s really basic and it’s soooo fucking frustrating when I can’t find it

Like the current type of story I wanna read all the variations of is: woman in danger because of a mystery person but she’s not backing down from trying to find this fucker and make them regret targeting her and the love interest is a guy who seems to hate her (and maybe comes across as he might be the mystery person, maybe not)

but he’s actually fiercely protective and the reason he’s so angry is because he’s furious that someone would target her and he wants her to stand back and let him handle it cause he can’t stand the idea of something bad happening to her and she’s like “I hear ya, but no, I’m seeing this through” and then she does (but he still gets a great scene of confronting this mystery person in some way)

and there’s at least one scene minimum where he has her pressed up against a wall, coming across as really dangerous but not to her, because he’s not threatening her, he’s begging her to let him handle it and vowing darkly to make sure this mystery person never messes with her life again and she’s like “shit am I into this??”

Like I feel like what I’m asking for is the equivalent of white bread okay. so where the fuck is it. it should be everywhere.

(I know part of the problem is also that I’m trying to find that plot in fics, and there’s not as many f/m pairings that I like, and a lot that I like I would actually prefer it if it were switched with the guy being in danger and the woman being like “please let me take care of this, let me take care of you” but sometimes I really just want the basic version please)

I’ve never said that and neither did the post I assume led you to send this ask. What I don’t support is students using a foreign conflict with an extremely complex history that they have no connection to as an excuse to cosplay as revolutionaries and attack vulnerable minorities on their own campuses.

I support the cause of Palestinian liberation. I also support the general existence of the state of Israel and a peaceful two-state solution to conflict in the region, recognizing that we don’t live in a fantasy world and a country that has existed for 70+ years cannot simply cease to exist. I do not support violence perpetrated by Hamas or by the Israeli government. I support protests that are based in genuine advocacy and not antisemitism. All of these things are positions that can coexist.

I also used to be a college student. And I was a college student at a school where there was a Students for Justice in Palestine organization with a sizable student membership. And do you want to know the things that organization did on my campus?

They promoted antisemitic speakers, including those who engaged in Holocaust Denial. A main student leader in the org regularly engaged in Holocaust Denial. They “protested” the very existence of Jewish student organizations and events that those organizations put on despite there being zero connection to Israel. When Jewish students made complaints about antisemitism, they were accused of being racist. This list is just a handful of the awful antisemitic behavior that I observed during that period.

Tldr; in my experience, student activism on very liberal college campuses about I/P has very little to do with I/P or the actual cause of Palestinian liberation, and a lot to do with students finding a socially acceptable excuse to be wildly antisemitic while pretending that they’re not. And you’re going to have a really hard time convincing me that the current wave of protests, including the ones at Columbia referenced by that post, during which “protesters” have told Jewish students things like “go back to Europe” and have called on Hamas to murder Jewish students, are anything different.

why doesn’t thistle/sissel realize that Falin is not (entirely) the red dragon? like it’s entirely ridiculous to assume that she’s the dragon just in a new form. i get that she has the dragon flesh and soul so he’s not entirely wrong, and her coming when he called for the dragon would imply that she is in fact the one he was calling but.

Ok. He calls the dragon because he’s looking at its corpse. Dude that thing is dead it got killed. Why would there be a dragon corpse if the dragon just changed forms?

Also, he himself says the form must be inconvenient, which is why he turns Falin into a chimera. Why the fuck would the dragon randomly decide to change into a new form that’s inconvenient for them?

And like even if he can’t understand all that, can’t he see that he’s hurting her? And like if the dragon already had this order to find Delgal, why would being reminded of it send it crouched down like in pain clutching her head breathing heavily like bro isn’t that at least a little weird for your dragon to behave that way?

And then I guess he doesn’t pay any attention to the party cause they’re just disruptive to him but doesn’t he see that they’re clearly trying to help the person he thinks is just his dragon, calling her by someone’s name and everything?

I guess the party can’t really explain the situation cause they don’t know what’s going on and Falin can’t explain because she is Bearing The Curse but. Ok I’ve seen evidence that Falin and Thistle interact past that first scene. Why doesn’t she try to explain then? Ok I haven’t read it all so maybe she does and this is kind of a dumb rant anyway because my questions probably have answers in the story. But like. From what a friend who has read the manga has said to me, it seems like Falin doesn’t really try to explain and I don’t know why not? Maybe she like physically can’t because in the panels I saw (out of context) there seem to be some communication issues and so maybe Falin just can’t freely talk to Thistle cause of the curse

But ALSO in that same part Falin heals Thistle’s wound and wouldn’t he be like…huh I didn’t know the dragon could do that…why does the dragon know magic now?

And it’s just like. Whyyyyyy don’t they just talk to each other I know it’s cause like they wouldn’t think to do that and also “cause then we wouldn’t have a plot” but it’s so frustrating

And again. Thistle’s reasoning is fucking stupid. You think the dragon for some reason randomly decided to change form. To something that is inconvenient for his work. Left his old form behind as a corpse. And now acts way different and has new skills like magic. And none of that is strange enough to prompt some questions or reevaluation??? Just a “huh that’s weird” every now and then????
