I'm rewatching fma 2003 and they're just?? so young???
Like Ed is insecure about his height and everything but he's also literally 1/3 of the size as everybody cause he's literally 12. And Al love him to death is such a kid. Like yeah, his voice is really young, but also it feels like sometimes he just doesn't get the big picture in a way a lot of the people (adults) do.
Everyone flames on Ed for how immature he acts post Nina and it's like he's and actual baby!! He doesn't drink his milk! He yells at people for seemingly no reason!!

Another Twin Au: D and T: Danyal And Talia
Also, potential Spirit Halloween.
Ra's had two children, Danyal Al Ghul and Talia Al Ghul, the Demon's Daughter and the Demon's Son. Talia might have been firstborn, but she was neglected over her father favoring Danyal.
Danyal was treated better than she was, and while Danyal didn't understand Talia's jealousy, he still tried to help her. Like for instance, Talia had a fight to prove her loyalty to the Al Ghul line and was tasked to fight to the death, Danyal seeing how tired she was from training, he poisoned the fighters, so that his sister could win and survive.
Even when Ra's schemed to transfer his mind into Danyal's body, he was overwhelmed by Danyal's spirit and was not able to do the transfer.
Danyal liked to play tricks on new recruits to the league, and when Bruce was there, he pretended to be his sister. (As Danyal constant exposure to the pits made his eyes green)
Talia was only able to develop a relationship with Bruce outside the compound, but Danyal and Bruce's love story was very brief. ( And maybe Bruce liked Danyal more as he could be bargained to live with Bruce, unlike his sister who was devoted to her father)
Ra's would have liked the detective with either of his children, but it was not to be.
In fact, when Talia was planning on wedding Bruce, Danyal was sent for extra protection and liked the little Robin (Dick) despite being on opposite sides. So, when Talia acquires Bruce's sperm to make Damian, Ra's did a test to see which sibling produced better offspring, and unfortunately, Danyal's won. So, Damian was the son of the Bat and Demon, but of Bruce and Danyal. The thing is that Talia and Danyal are identical twins, just one boy and one girl. So, Talia assumes Damian is hers by default, and when creating Heretic, she uses her DNA.
Danyal was someone more connected with the pits than anyone knew and spent some time with the spiritualists of the league. Danyal was there when Jason was in the league and tried to curb his most violent fits, and sometimes took care of Damien in the league along with Jason.
Now, unfortunately, during Ra's coup, Talia, sick of her brother favoritism, pushes Danyal into the pits where he doesn't resurface.
(A few years in Danny Phantom world is a few days in the DC verse, so Danyal as Danny Fenton speedruns the DP life, becomes phantom, follows cannon lore, except doesn't really stay in Amity Park afterwords, closes the two portals, and goes to find his original dimension, where Damien is about to sacrificed to the pit by Talia, believing she can make more, with the bats present kills him.
More in part 2...

Pedro Scouts Badge Roundup
My boring fact for the Summer Camp Sharing Circle was that I really like drinking water (and I've finally made it over the 10 badge threshold), so I feel like it's a good time to actually post how I've been collecting my @pedroscouts badges, which is on a virtual version of my ever-trusty water bottle!
We're visiting the beach because it was one of my favourite field trips when I would go to camp as a kid. 🌊
Tumblr media
How have I earned my badges? Some of the reasons have a bit of a spoiler to them, so I'm hiding them under a cut (and have noted where the spoiler is so you can look away if desired)!
Current badges: 32
Badge of Highest Merit
😭🥹💕JDF is peeking in on my badge post because he’s very proud he got me this badge! I’m delighted to have earned it doodling him for Cabin 1: The Pedge Patrol!
Character Badges
Dieter - I'm finally caught up on replying to comments on The Gift, so I'm celebrating that by claiming the badge. Not only is it a Dieter fic, but it borrows the lovely world of @schnarfer's Dieter series, If Wishes Came True 🛁
Frankie - Sometimes you gotta explore the origins of a character and @chronically-ghosted's most recent Frankie definitely devastatingly does the trick 👻
Joel - I am obsessed with @janaispunk's ongoing series, safe and sound ✨
Max Phillips - brandyllyn's Frat Lestat series
Jack Daniels - something-tofightfor's On Deck
Din Djarin - djarins-cyare's Never Look Down
Genre & Trope Badges
Fluff & Smut - This badge is dedicated to my reblogs of @burntheedges's Maintenance Request. 🧡
Slow burn - My claim of this badge is for my comments on @secretelephanttattoo's Afterword. 💜
Only one bed - SPOILER ALERT - I was tickled to realise @freelancearsonist's Heart of the Cards meant that I earned this badge without expressly planning to! 💙
Songfic - katareyoudrilling's Javi G + Mahler
Hurt/Comfort - schnarfer's Nicest Things - Almost
Friends to Lovers - luxurychristmaspudding's On Call
Summer Camp Badges
Art is My Passion - art for Al's Go Your Own Way
Rainbow Tie Dye - luxurychristmaspudding's Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl
Zipline - Adira's Eddie the Vampire Fluffbruary Ficlet
Saddle Up - schnarfer's The Cowboy & The Thief
Summer Camp Activities Sharing Circle | Teamwork | Scavenger Hunt + We Go Hard | Survival Kit |
Extras
Asknado! - I still have a few replies to respond back to, but I did successfully ask 10 questions.
FriendSHIP - I sent a bracelet to Cece and received the lovely one adorning my water bottle from @maggiemayhemnj 💚

as the general mahamatra, he has mora to spend, far to much time spend on himself.
will totally let you buy(in reasonable quantities) things that will make you feel better and stuff.
this moslty pertains to clothing, he'll shop with you, giving his insight on which clothing would suit you more.
and if the clothes he picks out make you feel you, it's a win-win for both parties.
will not allow anyone to disrespect you, and after he had a stern "talking too" with the person, they won't be bothering you again.
food and cuddles afterwords to make your feel better.
ᴀʟ ʜᴀɪᴛʜᴀᴍ
He also has way too much money to spend. He usually only gets food, his physics books, and other nerdy books he has.
If you like reading, he will totally buy you your books, somehow always finding some of them before they're even released.
Let's borrow his clothes, if they fit. If not, nothing more than a lil' clothes shopping you can't do.
He would not so accidentally try to get you to buy clothing in his style. He'd be thrilled if you do like his choices but won't fight you when you have your personal preferences.
Since most people in sumeru know you're with al haitham, they won't even try to make any snide remarks. and those who do never make it out the same.
ᴅɪʟᴜᴄ
He's literally the owner of one of the largest winery's ever, so he has so much money
Bro would literally buy you racks of clothing and have them each tailored to you.
If you're uncomfortable with having someone else get your measurements, he'll totally do it for you.
Likes when your clothing has a similar style to his, esspically when it comes to colors. He thinks you look absolutely amazing in red.
No one would try messing with you. They know it won't end well.
xɪᴀᴏ
Unlike the others, my man is broke.
He usually gets his clothing from Verr, who somehow managed to get his measurements.
If you happen to have some money, he wouldn't mind coming out and shopping with you.
He isn't the most fond of crowds or people in general. Your best bet is to go when the market isn't super populated.
They don't even try. People just avoid him and you due to his intimidating vibe.

January to April 2004. Fans of MY ADVENTURES WITH SUPERMAN would likely enjoy this poignant 2004 miniseries by Kurt Busiek and Stuart Immonen, about a young man named Clark Kent in a world very much like ours, where Superman is a familiar — and fictional — pop culture icon. Clark grows up the butt of many jokes, but when he's in high school, he discovers that he really does have powers like Superman's, something that has no precedent in his world outside of comic books.
If this premise sounds familiar, it's because it's a lot like the origin of the Earth-Prime Superboy, before he became a way for Geoff Johns to mock comics fans (and for DC to play out its institutional hostility toward Siegel and Shuster). In the pre-Crisis era, Earth-Prime, one of editor Julius Schwartz's little jokes, was supposed to be our world, where comics artists, writers, and editors transcribed the adventures of the real heroes of the other Earths. In the afterword to the trade paperback compilation of SECRET IDENTITY, Busiek admits that the similarities were wholly intentional, and that while he didn't mention it in his proposal (and DC didn't advertise it as such), this was essentially his extrapolation of that 1985 concept by Elliot S! Maggin, Curt Swan, and Al Williamson.
Tumblr media
After moving to New York City in his '20s, this Clark becomes a reporter — though not for the Daily Planet — and meets a young woman named Lois Chaudhari. To my knowledge, this was the first time a counterpart of Lois Lane was presented as an Asian woman (although of course she's not precisely Lois Lane).
Tumblr media
Throughout most of the story, Clark uses his powers only in secret, but he does make himself a Superman costume. Eventually, he feels compelled to come clean with Lois:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like Busiek's ASTRO CITY, SECRET IDENTITY is a very introspective story, less interested in action (of which there's relatively little) than in emotion and small observations of life with superhuman abilities. If you're expecting bigger dramatic stakes, you may find the series underwhelming — there are no supervillains or alien invasions, just Clark's reflections on his life and family, from childhood to old age — and the fact that the story never reveals why Clark has powers may frustrate. However, its autumnal wistfulness is appealing if you're in the right frame of mind for it. Immonen's art is gorgeous, and I can't think of a better artist for this story, which straddles the line between a real-world environment and the "heroic realism" of the modern superhero genre.
Fourteen years later, Busiek tried to do a similar story with Batman, BATMAN: CREATURE OF THE NIGHT, with John Paul Leon, which doesn't work nearly as well, wallowing in some uncomfortable attitudes about mental illness and an inappropriate though deliberately ambiguous supernatural element. Leon's art is interesting, but the story leaves a sour taste, and it does not succeed (at all) in doing for Batman what SECRET IDENTITY does for Superman, which is disappointing.

now that I'm home, a brief summary of the new (historical) fantasy books I AM interested in. there are still nonfiction (essays, social commentary, biology) that are on my list but THIS is more my jam. putting this under a readmore but 1. if you've read any of these I'd love to hear your (non-spoilery!) opinion of them, and 2. if you have any recs based on this list, feel free to reply or send me an ask!
The Water Outlaws by S.L. Huang: if this book is bad I'm going to cry. it looks like it could be everything I've ever wanted. I love when lesbians are anti-authoritarian and I love wuxia settings. the rebel love interest has tattoos 😍
The Witch's Heart by Genevieve Gornichec: I haven't actually read much norse mythology-inspired stuff except that pjo spinoff that wasn't very good (and one set in 9th century greenland that was HORRIBLE) but this was suggested a few times and I think it looks very promising! it's always neat to see older women as protags and she's bisexual and maybe polyam as well, which I've only ever seen in baru cormorant and the broken earth iirc
The Forever Sea by Joshua Phillip Johnson: this doesn't look GREAT but I looovvee environmental fantasy so I'll give it a shot
The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo: this one looks WILD
The Keeper of Night by Kylie Lee Baker: this one seems a little more YA than the others but the concept is pretty original so I'm curious to see what they do with it
Fireheart Tiger by Aliette de Bodard: the description made me cringe a bit but the idea is pretty cool and it seems like YA but it's marked at adult?
The Order of the Pure Moon Reflected in Water by Zen Cho: another wuxia-inspired book!!! please be good PLEASE be fucking good 😭
Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse: this one is sparing in the description but I have a sense it'll be VERY intense
The Emperor and the Endless Palace by Justinian Huang: I may struggle to keep focused on this one but I thought I'd check it out bc in theory it's interesting
The Black Tides of Heaven by Neon Yang: I didn't really understand the summary but it's hopefully good? I'l always check out a wuxia and I like a sibling dynamic
Deep as the Sky, Red as the Sea by Rita Chang-Eppig: PIRATES, BABY!!!!
The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, Katherine Tiernan O'Connor (Translator), Ellendea Proffer (Annotations/Afterword), Diana Lewis Burgin (Translator), Hans Fronius (Illustrator): *points* like from tumblr...in all seriousness I HAVE heard some really interesting things about this book and the relationship so I'm glad to add it to my list
The Winged Histories by Sofia Samatar: the first book of this series sounds really boring ngl but this one oohh 👀
Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia: I heard high praise for this one so while it doesn't specifically appeal to me, I'll give it a shot
Sistersong by Lucy Holland: I like a sibling story!
Silver in the Wood by Emily Tesh: this one could touch me tenderly I feel. I like when love interests are nice. whenever I see those setups that are like 'oh he's got an OBNOXIOUS and HOT partner' I'm like well this projection isn't working for me bc I'd leave then. I don't want to be annoyed by someone I'm supposed to like. I am aware this is a big setup for CR arc of mdzs but the annoying guy is my actual younger brother and my dear dear friend wwx so he can do whatever he wants. and also lwj really does have a stick up his ass and wwx is acting significantly more normally all things considered. anyway. this gay tree man may touch my heart
books that are ALREADY on my list/I have read excerpts from already
The Mask of Mirrors by M.A. Carrick: this one is pretty YA but I enjoy the writing and the setting, and the plot is exciting. I look forward to reading more
The Watchmaker of Filigree Street by Natasha Pulley: I think my mutual suggested this to me and I tried reading it but I found it really hard to read but I am going to try it again because it sounds so intruiging!
The Adventures of Amina al-Sirafi by Shannon Chakraborty: I'm on the fence bc while I liked the city of brass, I thought this one was a bit weaker so idk if I'll keep reading. I like the concept tho
The Buried Giant by Kazuo Ishiguro: this one's strange and mysterious and I love the almost primordial atmosphere of england 1000 years ago...the ancient and massive landmarks around the elderly characters as they go about their relatively small lives. kind of frightening, kind of magical
These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong: I haven't read any of this and it DOES look pretty YA but the setting sounds fun so why not

★ MILKY WAY. ━━ (000) ASK THEM ANYTHING part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
💌 ZERO SAYS. wow it’s over! it feels bittersweet and emotional! i can’t believe it to be honest, it doesn’t feel real yet but i am very grateful for everything and also for the questions! i deleted the asks bcs i’ll answer it here but i got nearly teary eyed reading trough them again! i wanna be sappy and continue talking but ill keep it to myself for now because i think i should say everything in the afterword <3 i love you and i hope you’ll enjoy the last (special) chapter of mw! you can find part 1 here
Tumblr media
❪ # i ❫ : What inspired your solo "Milky Way"? ━━ to yn
from @meginthebuilding27
YN : i was watching a drama when i wrote the music but the lyrics wouldn’t come to me, that was until i started writing with hwa, san and mingi, afterwards it was easy and i just wrote how they made me feel
❪ # ii ❫ : Did you ever think about the fact that she would find your fan accounts / So my question is would you all have ever told Yn about your fan accounts if sera never put two and two together? ━━ to psh, csn & smg
from @meginthebuilding27 & anon
SEONGHWA : I feel ashamed saying this but I don’t think I expected our relationship to ever progress to the point where telling her could be considered a possibility to be honest
SAN : I considered telling her when she found out about my crush but then I just couldn’t
MINGI : No it never even crossed my mind
❪ # iii ❫ : What did you feel when you finally released your first single? And how do you expect it to be perceived as from fans, what feelings should we get? ━━ to yn
from @jaehunnyy
YN : It was insane, I released it as a distraction for myself but instead it made me miss them more. As for the fans, it was a lot better perceived than I expected but I think everyone should make up their own meaning about it, it’s more fun that way. (However I wrote it with the intention of capturing the feeling of falling in love)
❪ # iv ❫ : What team are you guys on? Team Hwa, San, or Mingi? If possible please justify your answers ? ━━ to ateez (except psh, cs & smg)
from @seonghwaddict
HONGJOONG : Team Hwa! I hate to pick favorites but I was going to try to set Seonghwa up with Yn before I knew that she was his idol just because I think they would fit together like puzzle pieces
YUNHO : Team Mingi! Because he’d commit a war crime if I would say anything else
YEOSANG : Team Yuna! I like chaos and she can do so much better than these losers
WOOYOUNG : Team San! I trust Yn with san, San can’t be handled by just anyone you know, it takes a special kind of person
JONGHO : Team leave-Jongho-out-of-this.
❪ # v ❫ : I just wanna know their love languages! ━━ to yn, psh, csn & smg
from @tocupid
YN : I think my love language is words of affirmation! I like them all!
SEONGHWA : Definitely quality time, I think the ultimate type of love is the type where you can just be around your person doing whatever comfortably
SAN : Physical Touch!
MINGI : Korean!- Oh that type of language… hmm maybe gift giving, I’d love to spoil her
❪ # vi ❫ : What qualities of Yn made Seonghwa, San, and Mingi fall in love? (You don't have to go into major detail but I want to know about this from your perspective as the author) ━━ to psh, csn & smg (but answered by zero)
from @alixnsuperstxr
FOR SEONGHWA : I think Yns kindness and caring side made Seonghwa go from being a fan to being in love with Yn, the way she treats the people around her makes him want to take care of her in return. He tried really hard to separate the Yn he got to know as an idol and the Yn he got to know as a friend but he found that they were identical which made him want her even more
FOR SAN : For San it was Yns passion and love, this one is quite straightforward! San adored Yn the moment he saw her but what pushed him over the edge and made him fall in love was that she has so much love for everyone around her and craft
MINGI : Yns sense of identity and vulnerability, Mingi would always worry about the hate Yn received and get worked up about it (he still kinda does) but after seeing how she handles everything he was so impressed, the administration turned into love. She allows herself to feel hurt without changing herself because of what others think and he thinks she’s the coolest for it
❪ # vii ❫ : I know that in the group chat, each member has a different endgame and an idea of who Yn should pick, but why is that?? What makes them think they are suitable for Yn?? ━━ to ksg, fts, psj & syn
from @alixnsuperstxr
SEULGI : I chose Seonghwa because I know him the best out of the three, I’m not saying the others are not great but he’s just so sweet, I trust him to take care of my little sister well
FATOU : To be honest at first I chose Mingi just because he’s hot but then I noticed that she never has not a smile on her face when talking about him, which is sickeningly adorable
SWAN : *sigh* I’m guessing I can’t choose Park Taegyu huh? Just kidding! I choose whoever makes the Yn happiest
YUNA : Obviously I’m team YNNA first and foremost but I like how open san is about his feelings, something about him makes me think that Yn would always be his top priority
❪ # viii ❫ : How long has Sera had feelings for Yn?? ━━ to srw
from @alixnsuperstxr
SERA : I guess it started a while before I left, I’m not sure but I remember that it was very intense feeling that I haven’t felt since then
❪ # ix ❫ : if you could go back in time do you think you would change your mind about leaving (during trainee years)? If no, you would still leave, would you keep contact with yn this time? ━━ to srw
from @kodzumo
SERA : There is no point in crying over spilled milk but I do think the idol career was never meant for me, so yes I would leave but I’d keep contact with Yn and love her without being a coward… maybe in our next lives
❪ # x ❫ : What were you guy’s favorite songs off ‘Le Astre’? ━━ to psh, csn & smg
from @ kodzumo
SEONGHWA : I love the intro Body Language but I don’t think that counts so I choose Blue Flame
SAN : Loveade, no question!
MINGI : Other than the title track, I’d choose Deep!
❪ # xi ❫ : Has Lee Hyori answered any of your mail yet? ━━ to jwy
from @ kodzumo
WOOYOUNG : Sadly, no. However I’m now friends with Yn and Seulgi and Seulgi knows Boa who probably knows Lee Hyori so I’m staying hopeful!
seulgi’s note : Am I planning to give Wooyoung Boa’s number-?! Why in the world does he need her number?
❪ # xii ❫ : How is it seeing how far Yn has grown as a person from when you guys were younger? ━━ to khj
from @ kodzumo
HONGJOONG : It makes me super proud of her, I didn’t know she’d become an idol but I always knew she’d do great things- Don’t tell her I said that though
❪ # xiii ❫ : When are you free for a date (I’m literally spiderman pls)? ━━ to jyh
from @ kodzumo
YUNHO : I’m can plan something every day other than Monday’s, Thursday’s and Friday’s (because I work on those days), I love you so much Spiderman!
❪ # xiv ❫ : Have you shown yn your star wars lego collection yet (i also collect them hehe)? ━━ to psh
from @ kodzumo
SEONGHWA : We should be friends then! But I told her about it and she thought it was very cool, hopefully the next time I can show her them
❪ # xv ❫ : Not a question but I love you guys <3 ━━ to kys & cjh
from @ kodzumo
YEOSANG : You love m-me?
JONGHO : …Okay
author’s note : despite their answers both participants are blushing profusely
❪ # xvi ❫ : Also not a question but you guys are so cool I love you guys so much as well ━━ to star
from @ kodzumo
STAR : Thank you so much! We love you too of course!
yuna’s note : You love us more than them right??
swan’s note : Please feel free to ignore Yuna’s note
❪ # xvii ❫ : I just wanted to tell you how proud I am of you and I hope you have the best day, mwah <3 ━━ to yn
from @ kodzumo
seulgi’s note : Yn is currently crying about how much she appreciates this message but I’m here to say that she is having a great day and she’s proud of you too
fatou’s note : She’s going on a date soon!
❪ # xviii ❫ : Now that we know that sera likes Yn, how do you feel? Also how does it feel to be part of this whole thing where MinSanHwa like Yn, Yn liked you, you like sera, and sera likes Yn????? ━━ to ptg
from anon
TAEGYU : Sera likes Yn? Her liking someone other than me hurts less than I expected… to be honest I kinda started to lose feelings after Sera started getting distant around the time Yn confessed. Anyway I’m not surprised she likes Yn, after all my dongsaeng is great! And the whole Yns crushes situation stressed me out a little, so the only thing I really have to say is that I’m glad it worked out but I wish that Yn and me were both less oblivious haha! I also don’t think they like me very much
❪ # xix ❫ : Did you guys have any hope that Yn was going to forgive you the moment your accounts were revealed to her? ━━ to psh, csn & smg
from @ jaehunnyy
SEONGHWA : I didn’t think about hoping in the slightest, when she said that she needed time I thought it was just a nice way of saying “I don’t want to see ever again’
SAN : I definitely hoped that she did, because she’s a really sweet person and I couldn’t imagine that she wouldn’t but I didn’t think she’d ever consider a relationship like this again
MINGI : I don’t know if I would be able to forgive me but I always wanted keep hope so I was torn the entire time
❪ # xx ❫ : When did you guys know that Yn was the one for you? ━━ to psh, csn & smg
from @ jaehunnyy
SEONGHWA : I started feeling something when she was so genuine to everyone in one of our first conversations (ch 013)
SAN : Oh my god it was when I met her in real life for the first time, I think I liked her before but this was different! (ch 025)
MINGI : I’m not sure, at first I just liked spending time with her and talking to her but then all of a sudden I couldn’t imagine a world without her anymore (ch ???)

Dare ga Yuusha wo Koroshita ka 1
Tumblr media
Author: Daken
Illustrator: toi8
Label: Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko
Release Date: 29 September 2023
My Score: 4/5
Premise: In a world under attack by the Demon Lord, the brave hero and his friends went to battle. They succeeded in ending the reign of the Demon Lord and brought peace to the land, but the hero did not return from the battle. His party members claim that he was killed by a stray demon on the way home, but is that really the truth?
Review: Based on the title and premise, I thought this was going to be a murder mystery, but it's really not. It's more of a character study of the hero character with a little bit of mystery sprinkled in. The story is initially told through interviews with the hero's party members as they reflect on their relationship with the hero Ales. In between these interviews are narrative chapters briefly recounting Ales' meetings with each of these party members. As more of the mystery is revealed, the story has more narrative chapters set in the present day.
I thought this was a really solid stand alone volume. The mystery was interesting and it had really good pacing. Like with a lot of stories initially published as web novels, the chapters are short, but unlike with a lot of these stories, the short chapters didn't interrupt the pacing. Each chapter felt like it was telling a complete part of the story, and none of the chapters cut off in the middle of a scene. I really appreciated this as it made the pacing flow well and made it easier to read. The characters were pretty good too and were explored well, particularly the titular hero. While it wasn't the murder mystery I expected it to be coming into it, it was a satisfying story that I'd easily be able to recommend to fantasy readers who like a bit of mystery and introspection in their narratives. I'd also recommend this to people who are starting to learn Japanese. There's not a whole lot of action scenes and complicated terminology, and it is on the short side of things.
Side note - the author mentions in the afterword that they was in their forties when he started writing web novels, which I just thought was interesting.

A Synthesized History: An Amateur Comparison of the Perspectives between the "Patriot's," the "People's," & The "True" History of the United States - Part 19
Full Essay Guide link: XX
The American Empire in the 21st Century
(Patriot - Chapter 22 & Conclusion | People - Chapter 25 & Afterword | True - Chapter 36-37 & Epilogue)
In 1776 a group of select colonial individuals wished to separate themselves from their mother country, England, and forge a new nation with their land. They believed their cause to be just and righteous. The country born of that rebellion became one of the most powerful nations to ever exist. Two-hundred and twenty four years after their declaration of independence from England, the United States welcomed the turning of a new millennium-- the promise of a bright and yet unimagined future.
The 2000 election was between republican George W. Bush and democrat Al Gore. Bush was the governor of Texas, and the son of past president George H. W. Bush. Al Gore served as vice president under Bill Clinton. The race was extremely close, with the ultimate decision coming down to the state of Florida. The night of the election, it seemed Gore was winning Florida, but by morning the voting count had fallen in Bush's favor. The result was contested, triggering recounts but the process dragged. Back-and-forth decisions between the Florida Supreme Court and the federal Supreme Court only added to the confusion, but the count was ultimately cut by the federal court. Bush was declared the 43rd president of the United States.
George W. Bush ran on a platform of "compassionate conservatism," criticizing the "nation-building" missions of past administrations and claiming he was not interested in the U.S. military being a type of world policeman. Most of Bush's planned policies, however, were largely more of the same policies of his republican predecessors-- opposition to environmental regulations and tax cuts to the wealthy. Bush, did, however propose the radical notion of privatizing Social Security, which had been federally run since its conception in the mid-1930's.
Another policy of Bush's, the No Child Left Behind Act, was passed early in his administration. While the laws in this act garnered much criticism, its intent might be argued as "compassionate." These laws expanded the federal government's role in education, requiring public schools to issue standardized tests to students. These tests would also collect demographic data such as race and special education status. This demographic data would then be analyzed to highlight struggling populations. Schools with low scoring students were expected to improve or otherwise face potential punishment such as staff changes or even closure. The focus of the bill was intended to improve the educational standing of disadvantaged children, but the schools most punished for failing to meet improvement standards were in low-income areas that needed more support, not less.
Whatever other policies may have shaped Bush's presidential term were not seen, as a massive terrorist attack took the nation by storm. On September 11th, 2001, four planes were hijacked by al-Qaeda associated Islamic radicals who intended to crash the planes into politically symbolic American locations. One plane crashed into the Pentagon, two crashed into the twin World Trade Center towers, and another crashed into a field after the citizens on the plane forcibly retook control. General speculation on the 4th plane's target suggests it was likely intended to crash somewhere in Washington D.C., the nation's capital.
In the heart of New York City, many assumed the initial plane crash into WTC 1 mush have been some terrible accident. The crash into WTC 2 quickly dispelled this hopeful notion. The president was in Florida at the time of the crash, reading to school children when he was informed of the attacks. Decades of unchecked foreign intervention finally led a to a consequence the country could not ignore. People were angry, though. The average American citizen had bills to pay, children to raise, and a job to go to-- the terrible reality of the U.S.'s intervention in other countries was so often a small blip in the average American's life that this attack did not register as some kind of "natural consequence." Instead, the average citizen felt fear and anger at the deaths of many of their own countrymen. The nation was in an emotional uproar; people felt scared, angry, and unsafe. In such a state, many backed the president and their country without question. It was time for another war. It was time for a national vengeance.
The FBI and CIA quickly determined al-Qaeda involvement in the attack. A "war on terrorism" was declared, and Congress granted the president nearly unconditional wartime powers. The Executive branch was no longer restricted by even the paltry limitations set during Vietnam. Bush then established the Department of Homeland Security, which would be responsible for domestic public security and to facilitate relevant information across all the United States' intelligence agencies.
The 9/11 attacks changed both domestic and foreign policies. On the domestic level, the USA Patriot Act was passed. The Patriot Act granted the Department of Justice the power to detain non-citizens due to suspicion with no formal charges. It also expanded domestic surveillance for law enforcement purposes, with emails and phone calls being potentially monitored at any given moment. The Patriot Act also expanded what constituted a "terrorism" crime and increased the penalties for those crimes. The fallout from this upsurge of patriotism coupled with unchecked government and police power was that Muslim and Arab Americans were subject to terrible hate crimes and unjustified treatment by representatives of the law. Bush cautioned the public not to treat Arab Americans with hostility, but this plea broke down on state and local levels.
On the foreign level, Bush made his position clear. He declared that no distinction would be made between terrorists and the countries that harbored them. In the War on Terror, the mission was to kill Bin Laden and destroy al-Qaeda. Bombing campaigns in Afghanistan (Bin Laden's calculated position) started roughly 2.5 weeks after the terrorist attacks. Troops were also put on the ground in northern Afghanistan. The Taliban, which was the ruling regime of Afghanistan and an assumed safe haven for al-Qaeda, was significantly weakened by the U.S. bombardment. Bin Laden fled to Pakistan, but terror cells continued to persist. By pursuing al-Qaeda with their full military might, an unintentional consequence was that the relatively small militant group was thrust onto the world stage, where it would have no shortage of sympathetic individuals looking to either join or aid the fight in some way.
Eventually the U.S. also began combat with the forces in Iraq, fearing that Saddam Hussein may have weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) that could be given to al-Qaeda. key politicians such as vice president, Dick Cheney, historically showed interest in invading Iraq even before the terrorist attack, however. No WMDs were ever found, but the U.S. still crushed the Iraqi army, captured Hussein, and prepared him for trial. Hussein would be convicted of crimes against humanity in an Iraqi court and executed on December 30th, 2006. Bush set in motion and finished a fight his father once started.
Some critics stepped forward and opposed the U.S. foreign policy at this time, including some families of victims in the 9/11 attack. Critics pointed out that the 9/11 attacks were planned and carried out as a direct response to U.S. foreign policy, and that if the country truly wanted to tackle the problem, a dramatic shift in the way the United States interacted with the world would have to occur. The patriotic fervor and call for blood made criticism difficult, however. Even when civilian casualties were reported and shown, the media spin was that it was all an act of retribution. Political commentary made from both republicans and democrats called for absolute destruction. Articles and think-pieces were written and published, promoting the advantages and practical considerations of controlled brutality as a measured response. For every Arab parent holding their dead kid or for every Arab kid wandering around with no living parents to raise them, it was a lesson in humility-- in what happens when you tread on the ground of a military giant. Humanity was stripped away in favor of a feverish blood lust. If any citizen still possessed the audacity to publicly question the wartime fever, there was a very real chance of questioning at the hands of the FBI.
The United States attempted stable control of the Iraq region through a new government system. This new government body was formally founded on June 28th, 2003. Despite American backing, the new Iraqi government struggled to provide security or regional unity. Just like in Vietnam, the United States was trying to bring its brand of order into a region it didn't fully understand. The dominant regional culture focused on virtues such as honor, family, and shame, which were all tied to the area's religiosity. Three major ethnic groups dominated the Iraqi demographics: Arabs, Kurds, and Turkmen. It would likely be difficult for any government installed by a foreign power to establish a lasting shared cultural unity.
Multiple other variables also contributed to the instability of the U.S. installed Iraqi government. For one, there was animosity present in some militant groups because the U.S. barred former Iraqi military personnel from joining the new Iraqi Defense Force. Some of these disgruntled ex-military became new guerilla fighters, further destabilizing the peace. Secondly, community leaders often had ties to al-Qaeda or other militant parties. Thirdly, raiding and looting of U.S. military supplies often ended up in the hands of the country's militant extremists. Lastly, suicide bombers frequently gave their lives (along with the lives of innocent civilians) for their causes. The suicide bombings demonstrated that these radicals were willing to give their lives for their cause. With such devoted followers, it was difficult to establish a lasting government strong enough to respond and prevent it.
Bush won a 2nd term as president in the 2004 election, but the optics of the war were beginning to change. Some voters felt it was dragging on too long. The true humanitarian value of the U.S. "liberation" of Iraq was also questioned when photos from the Abu Ghraib prison leaked to CBS News. The photos depicted U.S. officers and intelligence agents engaging in torture of several political prisoners, forcing the men to engage in demeaning/humiliating acts while in subhuman conditions. The photos sparked outrage, with many international agents condemning the United States. The Bush administration denied these acts as being indicative of national policy, instead claiming it to be an isolated incident. In response, 17 military staff members were removed, 7 individuals were charged with dereliction of duty, 2 individuals were sent to prison, and the commanding brigadier general of the facility was demoted to a colonel. The photo leaks discredited Bush as world leader, but it was not the last difficulty his administration faced.
A Category 5 hurricane (hurricane Katrina) made landfall on the U.S. coastline via the Gulf of Mexico, and battered the southern coast of the state of Louisiana. New Orleans, a major cultural center of the state, suffered horrendously. The city's below sea-level elevation meant when the flood waters hit, the city filled up like a bowl. Much of the city's population did not evacuate, likely not imagining the destruction the hurricane would bring. The massive storm was responsible for $186 billion dollars of structural damage, over 1300 lost lives, and many more trapped in the city.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) was woefully unprepared for the scope of the New Orleans emergency. Over 700,000 people needed to be relocated. Bush and his administration responded in paltry ways but laid most of the responsibility on FEMA, which either lacked the capacity or leadership needed to effectively deliver humanitarian aid. Eventually the chief of Homeland Security, Michael Chertoff, would take control of operations. It would take over a year before the city was functional enough to host any major events or cultural tourism again.
The last few years of Bush's presidency were marked with financial crises, some of which were rooted in the start of his presidency. In the immediate aftermath of 9/11, the economy received a sort of "freeze" due to the national shock. Airline companies suffered because many in the country were afraid to fly. A new national mood settled in, that made it difficult for Americans to want to freely spend their money. The initial shock did subside, but with the country once again at war, federal spending ramped up.
The housing market crashed in 2007, with many in debt they simply could not afford. This debt hole cascaded into a flood of big investors like J. P. Morgan Chase, Wells Fargo, AIG, Bank of America, and others teetering on bankruptcy. Bush and Congress intervened, passing the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP), which dumped over $700 billion into the banking sector. The general understanding was that massive investors such as Chase and Wells Fargo were so large that the stability of the entire economy rested on the wealth of these private companies being stable. In order to prevent economic collapse, the federal government stepped in to save these companies, rather than let the "free market" kill them off for their failure to functionally operate.
The initial economic shock, the housing crisis, the corporate bailouts, and Bush's free war spending all contributed to an economic crash in 2008-2009, often called "The Great Recession." Despite a presidency that oversaw the generation of over 6 million new jobs, Bush's general economic decisions left the country in a worse state than it had been in a long time. It's easy to understand why, after such a demoralizing period, that when presidential candidate Barack Obama ran on a platform of "hope and change" that many flocked to vote for him.
Obama had a relatively limited political career, but his charisma and his platform made him easy to like. He was also younger than many of the president-elects had been at their start in office, which meant many felt he was more "in touch" with the modern culture. As proof of this, Barack Obama easily navigated the "new" era of internet social platforms such as Facebook, Youtube, and a rapidly growing new platform: Twitter. When Obama was inaugurated, he became the first black American president. Some of his followers saw this as a sign of hope in itself-- a symbol of a "post-racial" America.
Obama ran into office with a platform of "hope" and "change" but many of his decisions were moderate or standard for democrat presidents. It's possible to blame lack of radical change under Obama's administration to the obstinate stubbornness of Republican House and Senate politicians, but Obama's policies were generally weak compared to the more radical social changes of past presidents such as FDR. When trying to "right" the economy from the recession period, his administration approved of more standard corporate bailouts. Stimulus packages passed through congress but the added economic benefits were usually modest at best.
Obama attempted to "doctor" the American image overseas by going on a tour of conciliatory speeches. After the 2000's were dominated by the expansion of U.S. power internationally, Obama's administration attempted to "tackle" with history. For these speeches, Obama was rewarded with a Nobel Peace Prize. Many detractors felt these speeches were not enough, however. To truly heal the image of the United States away from an imperialist tour de force, the U.S. needed to commit itself to more than symbolic gestures. Republicans, meanwhile, criticized the president for his "apology tours," stating that it made the U.S. appear weak on the international stage.
Despite Obama's supposed "apologetics," however, his administration continued to manage Bush's war. In fact, more drone strikes (bombings carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles) were used in the first year of Obama's presidency than compared to Bush's total eight. This variable could be misconstrued easily due to drones being a relatively new technology during this era, but the point remains that Obama's administration continued potentially undue warfare in a region that had been battered for nearly a decade by hostilities.
On May 2nd, 2011, one of the original primary objectives of the Iraq hostilities had been achieved: the death of Osama Bin Laden. A highly trained group of military personnel, Navy Seal Team Six, tracked and executed the wanted war criminal. Later that same year, troops were completely withdrawn from Iraq (a process that started in 2007). Despite years of attempted stability, the U.S. was unable to create a strong government force. It was comparable to Vietnam, though the patriotic backlash resulting from the 9/11 attacks had allowed the foreign war to avoid much of the same criticisms. Without the continued support, the region grew unstable once again and new powers rose, such as the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
One of Obama's biggest changes while in office was the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Multiple times in the past, liberal leaning leaders pushed for a better national healthcare program. Many other 1st world countries had socialized medical care systems that allowed for citizens to be taken care of without incurring significant debt, which was a major problem for American citizens. Due to both the House and Senate being Republican majorities, however, any version of a democrat healthcare bill was going to face difficulty. To Republicans, national healthcare meant greater federal control of an enterprise that they believed should remain squarely in the private sector. The significant con of being a private sector enterprise, however, is that a profit driven motive is necessary to remain open. Profit and health were not a good combination, as it allowed pharmaceutical companies and hospitals to gain off the survival necessities of people. Ultimately, the version of the ACA that passed Congress was not nearly as radical as its opponents had accused of it being. Firstly, the ACA kept the employer-based insurance system (healthcare being directly tied to employment), which was fairly unique to the United States. Second, truly progressive aspects of the bill, such as the "public option" of buying insurance from the government and public funding for birth control and abortions, were eliminated from the final version.
Due to the Republican flip of the House and Senate in 2010, Obama's second term was difficult. In order to effectively do anything, Obama issued executive orders, which did not need congressional approval. With a limp executive office and a hostile Congress, the second term dragged while American people continued to grow frustrated with the government's inability to effectively lead the country.
School shootings similar to Columbine entered the national news cycle as a repetitive occurrence. Big school shootings like the Sandy Hook massacre reignited debates on gun control, with many opposed to government intervention on weapons ownership and others arguing that something needed to be done about dying American children. "Thoughts and prayers" became a satirical rallying cry for protestors angry with the government's lack of intervention, parodying the sentiments offered in response to the shootings by pro-gun politicians.
On a cultural level, race relation tensions sparked under Obama's presidency. Rather than become a symbol of the supposed "post-racial" America, cultural dividing lines seemed to only strengthen. With "smart phones" becoming common technology, the average American had complete internet access in their pocket. This access meant that anyone with a camera on their phone was mere seconds away from being able to upload their lived-in experiences to a wider audience. Videos of black Americans being subject to police brutality or even outright executions led to waves of protests and anger, and new political rallying groups such as Black Lives Matter (BLM). Many who identified with BLM thought Obama was too centrist on social positions such as race equity. In response to this growing movement, an opposed political position began to rally together, calling themselves the "Alt-right." The alt-right was named so as it was an "alternative" fringe of right wing individuals outside the scope of polite government republicanism. Alt-right individuals often espoused extremely traditional cultural and moral values, which aligned with white supremacy. While some in the alt-right movement denied any racist intent to their world view, others in the movement embraced the label of "racist" in a subversive attempt at rejecting the growing cultural movements that echoed those of the progressive 1960's.
Despite having pulled all the troops from Iraq by 2011, within a few short years soldiers were back on the ground in the middle east. A string of protests (The "Arab Spring") began across the middle east and north Africa, with groups opposing the militant and authoritarian regimes present. Most protests were met with violent resistance, though some held out. The movement began in Egypt and Tunisia, where it then spread to Arab countries. This massive uprising of people threatened the national interests of the United States, who then inserted themselves to help "stabilize" certain areas. American intervention included suppression of a civil war in Syria and the support of rebels in Libya. The United States, allied with England and France, began to a bombing campaign over Libya and removed the brutal dictator, Muammar Gadhafi. The Libyan rebels won, but the U.S. seemed to have no post-intervention plan and the country was left in the hands of warring fiefdoms.
The espionage on American citizens that was established under Bush continued under Obama's administration. A massive information leak on the country's espionage practices was published online via Wikileaks, a non-profit organization dedicated to publishing leaked documents. Edward Snowden was credited for the leak and fled the country. The documents revealed just how extensive and intrusive the U.S. surveillance program was. Citizens were outraged at this breach of privacy, but the federal government was hardly phased. When pressed for comment, some politicians stated that Wikileaks and organizations like it were a "threat to national security." In response to whistleblowers like Snowden, Obama prosecuted them using the presidential power granted by the antiquated WWI-era Espionage Act.
One debatable positive of Obama's foreign dealings was the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The United States, France, England, Russia, China, and Iran forged a deal to freeze Iran's nuclear program in favor of reducing international sanctions on Iran. Iran's compliance was questionable, though. Despite the agreement, the United States would end up withdrawing from the arrangement in 2018, under the leadership of the next president.
When Obama's second term was up, the country was undergoing a transformative cultural shift. Movements promoting critical race theory, LGBTQ+/queer acceptance, and 4th wave feminism dominated cultural relevancy. Fringe progressive movements that had been growing in the background since the 80's exploded into the mainstream, catapulted by the growing cultural divide and hostility between traditional right-wing conservatives and left-wing progressives. Complicating this dynamic between "left" and "right" further, many found themselves either pro- or anti-establishment. Despite the radically different values on either side of the American political spectrum, often the biggest difference in opinion was the "correct" utility of the government system.
Pro-establishment liberals sometimes espoused that the system was "broken" and that legislation would help restore checks-and-balances. Anti-establishment leftists believed the system was working as intended, and that the political system needed to be completely altered or destroyed. Pro-establishment conservatives typically believed that traditional moral principles made America great and that the government should reflect and enforce those values. Anti-establishment rightists believed the current government was not an effective system of order to maintain a functioning society and that these new progressive movements were proof of that.
The 2016 election was between Hillary Clinton, an experienced career politician and wife of past president Bill Clinton, and Donald J. Trump, a businessman billionaire with no political office experience. Hillary Clinton was the "obvious" choice according to media responses, with Trump receiving unprecedented negative coverage. The more negative the coverage, however, the more Trump's fans seemed to love him. For anti-establishment rightists who were disillusioned with the political system, the negative coverage proved to them that the "system" did not want Trump and only made their loyalty stronger.
The cultural division between left, right, pro-establishment, and anti-establishment camps began to make divisions between wealthy elites and the common folk as well. Despite decades of political experience, many saw the Clinton family as powerful elites who exploited the people for their gain and would continue to do so. They were viewed as corrupt, gaining their fortunes and power from career political manipulation. Despite Trump being a billionaire, his absolute rejection and ridicule at the hands of news media is precisely why so many disillusioned conservatives flocked to him. His brash personality and tendency to be blunt also held appeal for many. Clinton herself described Trump's followers as "racist, sexist, homophobic deplorables." When this news broke out, many embraced the label "deplorable" ironically, more determined than ever to shock the system and vote for Trump.
When it came to the election, Clinton won the popular vote but because of the electoral system (which gave all electoral votes in a state to the winning candidate in that state), Trump won the presidency and became the 45th president of the United States of America. Once again, an electoral victory went against the popular count. The fact that this happened so soon after the last (in 2000), when this had only ever happened twice between 1776-1999, highlighted the frightening and ever-widening gap in cultural values and beliefs between two distinct visions of America.
The election results caused a massive upset for many. Democrats began chasing phantoms to explain away the result, settling on stories of Russian collusion with the intent to disrupt and affect the American presidency. Robert Mueller, former head of the FBI, was selected to investigate but little to no hard evidence established the supposed collusion. Many wealthy liberals who opposed Trump stood by the collusion story, but for many average leftists and democrat voters, the collusion debacle was a waste of time that ignored what they viewed as a very real and threatening administration, which needed to be reigned in by the legislative Congress.
Under Trump's administration, the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was renegotiated to give the United States better favor. Tariffs were imposed on China and European trading powers, to bolster the American trading position. He also expanded American oil interests by opening up the Arctic and more off-shore regions for drilling. The coal industry was de-regulated as well. Trump also approved the continued construction of the stalled Keystone pipeline project, which had been protested by environmentalists and Native American activist groups who feared the damage to environmental and ecological areas should the pipeline fail (massive oil spills in the 2000's and 2010's made this a fairly warranted fear). Despite the environmental and humanitarian fears of these decisions, profits swelled, the stock market rose, and manufacturing jobs increased. With Trump filling the Supreme Court with his conservative appointees as seats opened, he continued the conservative renaissance of the 1980's in full force.
In foreign policy, Trump made strides to establish open relations with North Korea while encouraging the dismantling of their nuclear program. Kim Jong-Un reciprocated and discussions between the world leaders were ongoing. Headway with North Korea was an accomplishment no president before had managed. Trump was also combative with friendly nations, however.
When campaigning, Trump focused on illegal immigration as a major issue. Most past presidents had been "anti-illegal immigration" to some capacity, but few made it a major point of their campaign. Trump disproportionately highlighted crimes done by immigrants who had not crossed the borders through official channels. His immigration policies were largely centered on the neighboring country of Mexico. Trump proposed a wall to close the borders and insisted that Mexico would pay for the wall that he wanted built. This brash and blunt strategy of demand made him a difficult world leader to reason with when negotiating with American allies.
--
This summary of history has reached the point where the knowledge contained in the books guiding it have ended. That does not mean the story is over, however.
We continue to live in this story as it unfolds.
After Trump's term ended in 2020, Joe Biden (Obama's vice president) was elected to the office of president. Under Biden's administration, the nation tackled multiple significant issues such as:
Continued poor treatment of immigrants at the border
A few decades of unchecked federal student loan debt that preyed on young adults entering colleges who had little understanding of the full scope of what they were agreeing to
how best to navigate potentially necessary restrictions and aid the country when strained by a pandemic resulting from the spread of a virus colloquially known as "Covid-19"
United States culpability in Allied nations' war crimes, as U.S. funds backed Israel's continued bombing, killing, and aggressive boxing in of Palestinians
It is now July 24, 2024.
It is once again an election year in the United States of America. It is once again an election year for the most powerful country on the planet.
On July 13th, 2024, an assassination was attempted on Donald Trump by a young adult Republican with no clear motivation identified as of this writing. The event riled Republican voters and lit a flame under Trump's supporters. Like Reagan before him, the failed attempt to take Trump's life only made him more beloved in the eyes of the general public.
Democratic backers began to call for Biden to step down and let a younger person run in the election. While there was talk of this before, the failed Trump assassination boosted these voices. Despite strong assertions he would not step down, Biden ultimately decided to withdraw from the race and endorse his vice president, Kamala Harris. Harris served as an attorney general and then a senator for the state of California. With the new democrat nomination, democrat voices returned strongly to the national stage, once again optimistic at the chance to win the presidency.
Whichever version of history takes hold in these next few months will steer the course of social, political, economic, and cultural developments in the United States for the next four years.
This is the United States of America.
This is Jefferson's Empire of Liberty.
As the people who are on this planet now, we have a responsibility to be educated and to use that education to best navigate the world in a better direction-- to navigate our countries in better directions.
We are characters in this story, and we have not yet finished our roles.
This story is not over. History is happening every day.
"It's the most powerful idea in the history of the world-- that idea is that we hold these truths to be self-evident: we're all created equal, endowed by our creator with certain inalienable rights-- life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We've never fully lived up to it… to this sacred idea, but we've never walked away from it either. And I do not believe the American people will walk away from it now." -- Joseph "Joe" Robinette Biden, 46th president of the United States of America, addressing the nation on his decision to step down from the 2024 election

@bcdwclves asked: ❝  no.  give me a reason why i should do as you say.  ❞ he says, voice soft and gentle against the side of her neck, biting into the flesh softly with care, but enough for his beloved charlie to feel his fangs prodding her skin until just the softest bead of blood rolls from the little mark. "tell me, and you'll get what you want," says the stag king, smile gentle even as his hand curls around her cock, gently gliding his hand down it as his thumb slowly rolls over the peeled skin of her cockhead, feeling warm pre-cum leak. Her head had tilted back, moaning lowly at the feeling of his fangs at her neck as her hips jerked slightly at his touch upon her cock. Normally it would stay hidden, no one getting to look at it but Al got to. Her handsome and brutal husband was the only one who got to touch her cock like this. To see it. The blonde let out a shuttering breath before her eyes slid open slightly, revealing red eyes as her horns were protruding out of her head, "Because it'll be fun. You know how much more fun it is when I get my way. Come on, love, don't you wanna taste me? Surely you missed eating me~"
Charlie didn't engage sexual activities with others, unless they really striked her fancy. Her always go to and could never deny was her husband. The Overlord. (5 questions in one go because why the hell not 🌞)
5 is a quality number! (aesthetically my favourite, in fact)
[Referencing this post]
2. talk about a notable time a narrative or character has looked you dead in the eyes and said “fuck your plan, here’s what we’re actually doing.”
Oh heck, the Curse in ch77/78 of AfM.
"Oh no no no no," it said to my chapter outline, "how easily you do forget, the degree to which actions have consequences."
13. talk about a writing experience that has pleasantly surprised you.
I'm not quite sure what to make of this one. Is it 'experience' as in a part of writing in general, or the experience of working on a particular piece?
I suppose... in general something that has pleasantly surprised me is how visibly one hones one's craft, within the space of just a few years, when you've got a reason to really, passionately focus on a single thing. I'd been writing long-form for a really long time prior to AfM, so I was no slacker stylistically. But really finding the actual core of my existence in conveying a particular story for that length of time, it did so much to improve me as a writer, because it felt like I was making the effort for the story, not just for myself.
17. what is your favourite line you’ve ever written?
I'm sorry, I just don't have this sort of brain! XD If you could narrow it down to 'What's the most impactful/cringe-inducing/intimate/tear-jerking/ominous etc etc line you remember writing', I could probably dig up something! But right now, I don't think I have that sort of relationship with my words. ^^;;
65. what is your favourite title for a fic you’ve written?
*goes to browse my ao3 works*
Cos you know, I actually really enjoy titling things, it adds an extra layer of creativity, and sometimes -- I hope -- conveys bonus meaning to the content. As such, I put a lot of thematic thought into my titles and there's none I'm seeing that I'm particularly unhappy with. Apart from -- irony of ironies -- AfM itself! Because it was kind of a placeholder title for something that got to be so much more (like I wrote about in the afterword). Within AfM tho, the chapter titles are some of my favourites ever... so maybe I'll choose one of those to answer this!
...There's something really satisfying about the set of:
70. Out of Mind
71. Out of Sight
because it plays with a few things, most obviously the inversion of "out of sight, out of mind", where not seeing something is suggested to be a calming thing, whereas here, it very much is not.
70 being Lilith's POV, she is very much in her own mind (Mary being the one who is literally out of hers), but in the state of anxious frenzy that we colloquially call being 'out of one's mind'. And then, 71 as Mary's POV, she is the 'thing' that is quickly out of sight, despite being present the whole time, from the reader's perspective. I very much enjoy paired chapters like this, where you relive events from the flipped perspective that adds insight to what you read before, and 77/78 have the same feeling, in many ways.
Anyway, once 71's is no longer 'out of sight', 70's need no longer be 'out of mind'. And I enjoy that a lot.
78. how do you choose where to end a chapter?
Generally I have a clear place I’m working towards, and because I imagine scenes in a very theatrical way, it’s the point where the lights would go down on a stage, for the players to change location et al. Which is why my work is characterised by quite theatrically pronounced final lines of scenes and chapters. People have often said “Your last lines!!” etc and it’s very much me hitting that note of “and... Scene!” where there’s a micro sense of satisfaction that always leaves the audience impatient for the lights or curtain to come up again. The curtain being the chapter end, naturally, I try to always make those stronger, but scenes too -- if there’s more than one, unlike earlier AfM chapters -- need to have some sense of satisfaction, whether it be a necessity of forward motion, or a girding of the loins, or just some reward for having gone through whatever they the reader just did.
All that to say, sometimes I won’t get to the point intended, because my mind will suddenly give me the lights lowering, when a line is hit, and I realise that the scene has to end early because the necessary narrative or emotional beat has just been hit. Pushing for the previously intended end would feel forced, at least to me. And probably less impactful.
Well that was delightfully self-indulgent! Thank you, and-- *holds up empty porridge bowl for more validation of my prowess*

The Batboys Growing Up as Yandere’s Part 5: Damian Wayne
Tumblr media
This is a yandere story; it mentions elements of obsession, possessiveness, death, murder, and kidnapping. If any of this is triggering for you, I understand, and you don’t have to read it.
As always, feedback is welcomed.
Tim had moved out by the time Bruce found out about Damian; in fact, Tim had left as soon as his girlfriend returned his affections.
When Damian Wayne was still Damian Al Ghul, he’d always been told that caring too much for anyone was a weakness, that it would get him killed. So, he couldn’t understand why his father, the great Batman held on so tightly to his wife. Damian doubted that the woman whom he refused to call a Wayne, because that right should have been reserved for his mother, could even defend herself properly. Damian would have killed her in the early days if he thought he could have gotten away with it.
Though Mrs. Wayne’s patience and constant care slowly wore down his walls, and then he started to envy his father. Yet at the same time, Damian didn’t think he deserved someone; he was a demon who’d killed people. Yet, at the same time, he craved love, Damian yearned for soft touches and sweet smiles.
It was the summer before his freshman year of high school when he’d made a dumb mistake, one his mother would have killed him for, and when the villain he’d been fighting used it to their advantage, he’d barely managed to get away with his life.
It had surprised you to find Robin bleeding out on your fire escape. Against your better judgment, you took him inside and tended to his wounds as best you could, glad your mother was rarely home since her and your stepfather’s messy divorce, you think after six of them she’d learn to cope better.
Damian woke several hours later to find an angel leaning over him; for half a second, he wondered if he’d died. Damian corrected himself; if he died, he certainly wasn’t going to meet an angel. Also, he probably wouldn’t feel like he’d just been given the beating of a lifetime.
“Oh, thank god your alive,” you spoke, relief flooding your voice. You’d done your best to stop the bleeding, but a lot of his wounds looked like they needed stitches, something you weren’t capable of.
Once Damian came to as much as his blood loss would let him, he felt his face, relieved to find his angel had left the mask in place. Robin didn’t speak much until Batman arrived, but then as he was carried out by his father, you could have sworn you heard, “Thank you,” fall faintly from the boy’s lips.
You didn’t know it, but you’d come to regret the night you’d saved a Robin from certain death.
It wasn’t a month later your mother came into your bedroom, demanding to know why you had a letter from Gotham Academy. “So, help me, you better not have applied I told you we can’t afford this and don’t you dare bring up scholarships, those don’t cover uniforms or books.” She’d spent the better part of an hour yelling, not letting you get a word in edgewise, so you couldn’t tell her that you hadn’t applied. Finally, she thrust the envelope onto your dresser and left.
You knew it was probably a scam, but you opened the envelope anyway, only to find a letter about being awarded a full Martha Wayne Foundation scholarship, it supposedly covered every expense necessary to attend. You decided that you’d look up the school’s number and call them in the morning. At worst, you’d end up embarrassed, but if this letter was real, you might have a shot at a future.
It had taken more strength then Damian thought he possessed, to keep him from killing your mother, as he watched the live feed from the security camera he’d installed in your bedroom. Damian had only put them in there because he wanted to keep you safe, but sometimes he couldn’t help himself; he wanted to see how his beloved was doing.
He’d been happy to see you on the first day of school. Actually, he’d gotten to see you before class even started. Your bike tires being several years older than you, had finally given out, and of course, it had started raining of all things.
You’d been cautious when the town car came to a stop beside you, even more so when you saw the back window rolled down to reveal Damian Wayne, but the boy had somehow managed to get you into the car with him. While he’d been rough around the edges, Damian had managed to come off as sweet and charming. It hadn’t been hard something about your presence soothed him, made it easy to let out emotions he usually kept bottled up.
He’d spent the day by your side, and for the first time in a long time, Damian felt at peace; in his eyes, you truly were an angel sent down to save his soul. Damian was convinced that meeting you was fate, that some higher being was giving him a chance, someone to love and that maybe if he did it right and kept you safe, it might make up for his sins.
You were sixteen when Damian had finally asked you out, you’d been happy, how could you not be, your crush liked you back, You’d gushed on the phone to your friends for hours afterword, they were dumbfounded that you hadn’t realized how in love with you the boy was, “He calls you Beloved for peat’s sake, of course, he’s in love with you.”
To you, this was a new relationship, but to Damian, it had been formalizing what he already knew to be true. You were his, and that class ring on your finger would prove it until a wedding ring could take its place.
That time would come on your graduation day when Damian had just finished his valedictorian speech when he knelt in front of you and pulled out a small black box. You knew what was in it before he’d even had a chance to open it and reveal his family’s heirloom engagement ring. Mrs. Wayne must have given it to him.
You’d cried happy tears as he put the ring on your finger, once that was done Damian leaned in to kiss you while ignoring the clicking of cameras. Despite what many think, Damian loved PDA because it let the entire world know whose protection you were under. You wanted the wedding to wait until after college, much to Damian’s dismay, but he’d begrudgingly accepted your choice. Though to Damian’s satisfaction, the wedding came a lot sooner than you’d planned.
You’d been attending Gotham university for a few months now and had been loving it, that is until you spent longer then you’d planned in the library. You knew Damian would want you to call him so he could come and get you, but you knew he was on patrol, and while you didn’t like the idea of walking in Gotham after dark, you’d walked home at night before and never had an issue.
Tonight though, a mugger had pulled you into a dark alley and pointed a gun at your face demanding all your valuables. You’d relented giving the man everything you had on you, but you’d forgotten to give him your ring. You loved the ring, and it was a Wayne family heirloom, but you knew it wasn’t worth your life, so when the man slapped you and demanded you give it up. You instantly started working the ring off your finger.
Just as you’d slipped it from your hand, Robin showed up and started whaling on the guy. You’d never seen Damian so vicious before, but he’d refrained from killing the man in your presence, not wanting you to see death. An angel should never have to see such darkness, no that was reserved for a demon like him, so Damian slipped a tracker on the unconscious man and took you to the manor. Once he’d managed to calm you down enough to sleep, he’d go back out and finish the job.
Damian had used the incident to convince you to marry him sooner, playing up how short life could be and asking you what the point in waiting was. The next day the two of you applied for a marriage license, and during New Jersey’s mandatory three-day waiting period Alfred and the other Wayne wives planned and organized the whole wedding. It was a small and intimate affair, but lovely none the less, everything had been perfect.
Until the next day, that is, when you woke up and found yourself in a locked room, you definitely hadn’t gone to sleep in. Damian was also noticeably absent. Your heart was in your throat, had you been kidnaped, if so how did they get into Wayne manor and why didn’t Damian wake up, your husband was a light sleeper.
There was no way anyone could have taken you without waking him up even if, by some improbability, you hadn’t woken up yourself. You’d never felt so relieved as you did when Damian walked through the door breakfast tray in his hands. Maybe this was some sort of staycation to make up for not being able to go on a honeymoon.
“Dami, why is the door locked?” You asked anyways, not expecting the answer that you were going to get.
“To make sure you can’t leave the safety of this room beloved,” He said, and your blood froze because Damian’s tone made it sound as if he believed it was completely normal to lock his wife in a room. You tried to explain to him how messed up that was, but he ignored your arguments. Your husband wasn’t the man you thought he was.
You weren’t dumb enough to think you could take Damian in a fight, so you waited until he left for patrol to start looking for an exit. All that got you was a bruised shoulder because, apparently, the window was freaking bulletproof glass.
You’d decided that tactic was useless because all it got you was Damian fussing over you, and right now, the last thing you wanted was your kidnaper anywhere near you. So, you stopped eating and made it clear to him that you weren’t going to unless he let you go. Part of you still loved him, so it broke your heart to see such a proud man beg, but no matter how much he cried and pleaded, you held firm.
You kept it up for about a week before you woke up tied to the bed, Damian making it clear that if you weren’t going to eat willingly, he’d force-feed you, after all, he’d vowed to keep you safe, even if it was from yourself.

Native Tongue and the Power of Language
Tumblr media
I recently read the book Native Tongue by Suzette Haden Elgin and found that its themes strongly resonate with what is currently going on in gender debates. Most notably, the book deals with the power of language to shape our perceptions and reality. The past few years have seen a push towards more gender-neutral language, to the point of completely changing or stripping some words of all meaning. These issues can be examined in light of Elgin’s message on the power of language, which serves as both a warning and a beacon of hope.
Native Tongue, published in 1984, is set in a highly patriarchal society 200 years from now. All progress made by women in the twentieth century has been lost, and men hold absolute power. The Earth’s economy in the twenty-second century relies on trade with various interstellar nations, and linguists are needed to learn alien languages in order to conduct trade negotiations. The novel principally focuses on Nazareth Chornyak Adiness, a linguist born to one of the 13 Linguist Lines. In the Lines, women are bred until they become barren, at which point they are sent to the Barren House for the rest of their lives. This is where the women are secretly developing their own language, Láadan, to express their own reality and regain their autonomy.
Elgin, having received a PhD in linguistics, subscribed to the controversial linguistic theory known as the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis. In its “weak” form (which is more accepted than the “strong” form), it says that our language constrains and structures our perception of reality. In other words, people who speak different languages see the world in different ways. Moreover, the way we perceive the world depends on the word choice as well as the metaphors encoded in the language. These ideas have also been brought up by feminist thinkers outside of linguistics, such as Hélène Cixous and Luce Irigaray, who examined how language reinforces gender relations and stereotypes. In The Laugh of the Medusa, Cixous writes: “It is by writing, from and toward women, and by taking up the challenge of speech which has been governed by the phallus, that women will confirm women in a place other than that which is reserved in and by the symbolic, that is, in a place other than silence” (881). Thus, Elgin’s position that changing language can change society complements feminist writings of the time.
The book’s fictional woman’s language, Láadan, is the result of the belief that language can change reality. The creation of Láadan is primarily based on Encodings, which are “the making of a name for a chunk of the world that so far as we know has never been chosen for naming before in any human language, and that has not just suddenly been made or found or dumped upon your culture. We mean naming a chunk that has been around a long time but has never before impressed anyone as sufficiently important to deserve its own name” (Elgin 22). The appendix of the book gives some examples of words in Láadan. One of these is “doóledosh”, which means “pain or loss which comes as a relief by virtue of ending the anticipation of its coming” (332). In this way, Láadan can express the true perception of women by redefining what is significant or not.
There is a shift in perception happening today, as gender activists push for more gender neutral and inclusive language. However, this comes at the cost of denying biological reality and erasing women as a class. The most glaring example is probably the trend of replacing “woman” with “uterus-bearer”, “ovary-haver”, “menstruator”, etc. This reduces women to their body parts and is quite telling of the misogynist viewpoint these terms stem from. Indeed, since language acts as a lens through which we see the world, this change reflects the view that women are only good as child-bearers and sex partners. Moreover, the spread of this kind of language also perpetuates this ideology under the guise of “inclusive language”. As Láadan was created to show, the lack of female-centered language helps support the patriarchy.
However, Native Tongue also provides hope for the efficacy of woman-centered language. Elgin believed language could shape reality and showed it in her book. After the women of the Barren House decide to start using Láadan and teaching it to the girls, the men note: “Women, they tell me, do not nag anymore. Do not whine. Do not complain. Do not demand things. Do not make idiot objections to everything a man proposes. Do not argue. Do not get sick […] No more headaches, no more monthlies, no more hysterics… or if there are still such things, at least they are never mentioned” (303). The Linguist men, unsettled by this new dynamic, decide to make all of their women live in a separate residence, thereby inadvertently giving the women something they want. This shows how the new language altered relations between Linguist men and women and as a result brought a change to their lives. The change need not be so drastic, however, as simply using a language that expresses their views and values makes the women more cheerful and cooperative when dealing with the men. They finally have the freedom that only a language of their own can provide.
Elgin’s book is more relevant than ever at a time where feminists are fighting against the erasure of female-specific terms. The power of language is that it can oppress, like reinforcing gender stereotypes, but also liberate, as Láadan does for the Linguist women. The latter provides hope in the current battle against female erasure. We need language and writing by women, for women. As language is turned against us, so can we use it to fight back and create our own, more just, reality.
 Notes:
· This essay is partly inspired by the afterword to the 2019 edition (Encoding a Woman’s Language by Susan M. Squier and Julie Vedder).
· The Sapir-Whorf hypothesis has been largely abandoned in favor of biolinguistics, the linguistic school that holds that the principles underpinning the structure of language are biologically preset in the human mind and hence genetically inherited,  pioneered by Noam Chomsky. Since Elgin wrote Native Tongue in light of the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis, this essay does not question the validity of the theory.
· For more about Láadan: https://laadanlanguage.wordpress.com/
· Native Tongue has many more themes to explore, such as the balance of power between the sexes, which I chose not to go into. I highly recommend this book, and I will definitely be reading the other two books in the trilogy.

Would love to know your interpretations of Pickles 🐙 😊
Thank you ;-;
1) Uncommon headcanon about them I am deeply attached to.
I honestly think he would want kids or at the most a family of his own. Even though he did cut contact with his family for 15 years, when they did come back to his life, he didn’t kick them out again even if he could be justified in getting a restraining order against them or something. I feel like he did have them around afterwords because he genuinely wanted a family, and him being raised in a place where family meant everything, it was just a pipe dream to him :’) He has his found family and I can see him adopting/taking in at least 1-2 kids so he’ll be very happy with a family that genuinely loves him!
2) Widely-held headcanon about them that I reject.
I feel like this is an outdated headcanon that was one more popular but Pickles is not a fuckin submissive af person. Like I think Chickles was ruined for a lot of people because daddy dom aggressive Charles and then submissive uwu Pickles-yeaah no please no
3) What were they like as a kid? What was their early life like?
Oh man, I think it’s gotta be a sad childhood-
If we take into Pickles being trans, he’s had a tough childhood already. He probably didn’t even know what transgender was until his teen years so before then, he’d grow up believing something is wrong with him, that he’s a freak, etc. He’d be a rebellious kid though, trying to cut his hair frequently with gardening sheers or something and use Seth’s old (and sometimes new) clothes as his own. He’d bind with bandages, go on buses to another town where he’d buy beer and be known as a man to those who pass by him because they don’t know his secret and just wants to be happy :(
His family life in his early years was probably not great. I honestly believe Pickles was the result of an affair because I feel like it’s those things where everyone and even Calvert knows what happened but they still keep him because they gotta keep up that picture perfect family. So he’s just existing in a family that doesn’t want him and may even directly blame him for ruining their family dynamic. He grew up with almost no attention from his family, Seth pulling on his hair and being a lil’ shit, and it was miserable until he got into drinking and it kinda helped a little. Drinking was his only saving grace in that household.
 4) Symbols/motifs that I associate with them–colors, animals, zodiac signs, mythic themes, imagery, objects, etc.
Red, orange-the color of flames for him as I headcanon him as a sort of fire god-definitely octopus for animals!! He’s also an aries because i’m one and honestly he’s relatable with that- your headcanon post about godklok though? Honestly the best one and I feel like your hc on Pickles’ god status and powers i very much agree with!!
5) Other characters or types of people I have in mind when I draw and/or write them.
Devin Townsend of course! :D
But also I like to base him off the celebrities my professors told positive stories about. Whether it’s Weird Al being an absolute sweetheart to my professor when he did an interview on him in the college radio to one of my professors going out drinking with some members of a still ongoing 70s band on weekends. It’s those kinda chill celebrities and I like to base him off of those :D
6) What I project onto them when I draw and/or write them.
Fucking Pickles making me question my gender more than I already have
But in all seriousness, the growing up in a household with a different mindset than you, having to hide a lot of things from family, addiction, all the negative things I think is what i do to project onto him but I kinda don’t like to paint him as an asshole, just someone who grew up in the wrong household and developed bad habits he’ll never heal from.
7) A surprising hobby, interest, or phobia they have.
I think he does like baking but i also think he could get into pottery or claymaking, i feel like he’s someone who likes to have his hands occupied!
I feel like tokophobia is a thing for him even if it’s minor and won’t happen to him ever/well past the point of it ever happening. But still, he was AFAB and probably grew up with the whole ‘wait till you find a nice husband have kids :)’ and it’s basically just that one fear meme
Also think he’s afraid of blood & guts, just because he’s seen it doesn’t mean he runs out to throw up or has nightmares about it-

sorry if this is bad, it was kinda just me exploring a different way of writing and how Anne deals with her trauma around the beginning of May. So it will talk about her beheading in passing and there is a minor panic attack.
30th of April
“This quarrel with Norris, and the gossip it caused, may have been the reason for an argument between the King and Queen on Sunday 30th April, recorded by Alexander Ales and written as an account for Elizabeth I, Anne and Henry’s daughter, in September 1559:-”
“Never shall I forget the sorrow which I felt when I saw the most serene queen, your most religious mother, carrying you, still a baby, in her arms and entreating the most serene king your father, in Greenwich Palace, from the open window of which he was looking into the courtyard, when she brought you to him. I did not perfectly understand what had been going on, but the faces and gestures of the speakers plainly showed that the king was angry, although he could conceal his anger wonderfully well. Yet from the protracted conference of the council (for whom the crowd was waiting until it was quite dark, expecting that they would return to London), it was most obvious to everyone that some deep and difficult question was being discussed.”
The queens knew may 19th would be a bad day for Anne but they didn’t expect her to pull away from everyone so early. They had all been at an interview (that seems to be how all these stories start) and it was seemingly going very well, the historian was kind and genuinely cared about hearing the queens’ stories. He also was very aware of the date and before they began pulled Anne aside and told her she didn’t need to answer anything that she didn’t want to, he also asked what topics she would like to avoid. So, all in all, it was a pretty successful interview.
The feeling of dread Anne had begun to feel that morning was forgotten by the time she had retired to her room that evening. Everyone seemed to be in good spirits as the second queen fell asleep with a smile on her face.
1st of May
“Henry VIII and his second wife, Queen Anne Boleyn, attended the joust just as they had in previous years, but this one ended with the king abandoning his queen unexpectedly. If Anne hadn’t figured out that something was going on before this point, she surely must have been suspicious at the king’s sudden departure.
We know that court musician Mark Smeaton had been arrested the previous day and that within 24 hours he’d confessed to sleeping with the queen. However, Anne was in the dark. Bad things were happening around her, but she did not know what was going on.”
Anne had to drag herself out of bed that morning. The usually energetic girl shuffled quietly to the kitchen where all the other queens were already seated.
“Morning love,” Catherine smiled at the younger queen as Jane turned to make Anne a cup of coffee, a rare allowance for Anne that early in the morning. “Sleep well?”
Anne looked at Catherine for a moment, blinked a few times then shrugged, “Oui, mais ça n’en a pas envie.” Catherine laughed for a moment before turning to Cathy,
“Do you mind translating love?” Cathy nodded giggling a little at how out of it her girlfriend was, “She said yes, but she doesn’t feel like it.”
The first queen nodded and smiled sympathetically at Anne. Soon all six women had settled down at the table. Kit was talking about something, using dramatic hand gestures for emphasis as Anna laughed at the girl quietly. Anne tried to listen to her cousin but her mind was fuzzy, she was so so tired. Maybe if she just closed her eyes for a minute-
“ANNIE! No sleeping at breakfast!”
Anne looked up blearily at her cousin, gave her a smirk, and dropped her head back onto her arms, folded on the table. The rest of the day went on in a similar fashion and the daze Anne seemed to be in never lifted.
2nd of May
“In “Las nuevas de Ynglaterra de la presion de la Manceba del Rey”, recorded in Letters and Paper on the 2nd May, it reports Rochford’s arrest as being to do with him covering up his sister’s crimes and being an accessory, rather than being one of her lovers:-
“The Emperor has letters from England of 2 May, stating that the mistress of the king of England, who is called queen, had been put in the Tower for adultery with an organist of her chamber, and the King’s most private “sommelier de corps.” Her brother is imprisoned for not giving information of her crime. It is said that, even if it had not been discovered, the King had determined to leave her, as he had been informed that she had consummated a marriage with the earl of Nortemberlano (Northumberland) nine years ago.”
This leaves us wondering whether George Boleyn was arrested first and then the charge of incest made up later, a shocking and horrific allegation which would turn everyone against him and his sister.”
The show that night went well, it was one of those nights where everyone got really into it, including the audience; and for what it was worth, Anne was in a good mood. The second queen joked around with the others, although she stuck close to Maggie’s side the two seemed to be in better form.
The queens and ladies in waiting were all well aware of the date and were frankly quite shocked at how well Anne and Maggie had been handling everything, considering the mess the year before had been. When the group of 10 Tudor women got home that night the adrenaline from the show left them all awake. After some friendly banter back and forth it was decided they would watch Moana.
It was about halfway through the movie when Maggie and Anne began talking amongst themselves, “à quoi sert le crabe ? Je suis désolé de ne pas l’avoir, il se sent un peu plus”. (what's the point of the crab? I'm sorry I just don't get it, he feels a little bit extra)
“Je suis désolé a fait Anne 'Kitty est triste alors j’ai besoin de lui obtenir un chat' Boleyn juste tout un film supplémentaire ?” (I'm sorry did Anne 'Kitty is sad so I need to get her a cat' Boleyn just all a movie extra?) Cathy looked up and laughed at Anne, “Vous n’avez pas de place pour parler, mon amour” (you have no room to talk, my love)
The three girls laughed before turning their attention back to the movie. As Anne got ready for bed she smiled, it had been a good day.
4th of May
“Sir William Kingston, the Constable of the Tower of London, was ordered to make regular reports to Cromwell regarding Anne Boleyn’s imprisonment in the Tower. Obviously, Anne could say things that her enemies could use against her and for that reason her ladies in the Tower were appointed by Cromwell and were also ordered not to speak to Anne unless Lady Kingston was present to remember or record what was said.”
For the next few days Anne seemed to be glued to either Maggie or Cathy, it wasn’t surprising for anyone really so they all went on as normal. It was around this time that Anne and Cathy began going on walks more. No one asked about the change as it wasn't hurting anyone, but it was the first sign of the storm that was brewing.
The show that day had gone well and they had rehearsals for some events afterwords. The girls were all goofing around on the stage while the directors took a few notes,
“See here’s the thing there is no way to know that we all see colours the same!”
“Anne, I thought we had a no talking nonsense at rehearsal rule,” Aragon looked over at the girl and sighed, “stop mumbling to yourself.”
Anne just stuck her tongue out and leaned back onto Cathy who was braiding the girl’s wild hair. She looked up at her girlfriend, smiled, and gave her a quick kiss. The rest of the day carried on in a similar fashion, although Anne couldn’t ignore the heavy feeling in her stomach.
15th of May
“On the 15th May 1536, Queen Anne Boleyn was tried in the King’s Hall in the Tower of London. The trial was to be a huge public spectacle, attracting, according to Chapuys, around 2,000 spectators, so Sir William Kingston had arranged for a “great scaffold” (platform) to be erected in the middle of the hall, benches and seats arranged for the lords, and benches along the walls of the hall. Alison Weir writes of how a special throne for the Lord High Steward, the Duke of Norfolk, was placed on the dais at the end of the hall, underneath the canopy of estate which bore the royal arms – the Duke of Norfolk was to represent the King and would have to put aside the fact that Anne and George were his niece and nephew.”
Five out of the six ex-wives of Henry VIII were awoken by a shrill scream from the loft bedroom. A conversation wasn’t necessary to make the decision that Jane and Catherine wouldn’t be any help, try as they might to help Anne. Kit and Cathy went up the stairs while Anna went to help the other two girls make tea for everyone (“no Cathy you do ‘t get coffee until breakfast and that’s final.”)
When the girls got into the room Anne was thankfully awake, and she wasn’t scratching at her neck. Instead, she was just sat staring at the wall opposite her bed. “He was innocent you know” Cathy frowned as she sat beside her girlfriend, not really knowing what she meant. “Can I touch you, Annie?” Anne nodded before continuing her thought as she curled into Cathy’s side and Kit played with her hair.
“Why’d Henry feel the need to go after George?” Kit sighed, she wasn’t annoyed at her cousin, she just didn’t have an answer for her. Cathy looked at the youngest queen for a second before turning her focus back onto her girlfriend, “No one knows Annie, but it wasn’t your fault.” Anne shook her head and sat up straight, pulling her knees up to her chest. Anna returned at this point, handing everyone a cup of tea before sitting down to join the conversation.
“I know I don’t deserve forgiveness, but I like the idea that some people think I might” It was Anna who spoke this time, after a few moments of stunned silence. “How do you KNOW you don’t deserve forgiveness? What did you do wrong?” Anne just looked at her, part of her agreeing with Anna but the ‘what ifs’ were loud and overbearing.
After a few moments of silence, it was obvious that Anna wanted an answer, “Nothing.” It was meek and not very convincing but it was a start, and that’s all anyone could ask.

A wide array of demolition experts were required, engineers were varied, and many.
"Fire in the hole!" was shouted by one crew.
"Timber!" exclaimed another.
"Head-ache!" was heard throughout the area.

"Fore!" was the last thing that was said at the event. Later, at the wake, Saint Barbara was seen hoisted from a passing helicopter, clutching a staff.

Kenny Wayne Sheppard was featured again in an encore performance interview discussion about a Jimmy Hendrix guitar riff, was first presented by Premier Guitar (PG) during the same time that Twitter was still a Beta Twitter, in around 2008 or so. The interview is presented as new, fresh, while in reality, it’s old, stale.

Shepherd: He has a Hellcat. a Virgin White Hellcat. A car that can do wheelies by factory design and intent, comes with a Pit-Crew Tool Box filled with tools and spare suspension & steering parts, and, some additional Pizza Cutter front racing wheels for the track, all for just a little more than 100K. Remote ignition, standard.
Those chairs there: Play the turn around Kenny talks about. He is talking about how a guitar riff talks. A talking guitar riff is noted by Kenny, literally, and figuratively noted. The talking guitar riff is one that was made famous by a black man, who played a right handed guitar, upside down, and backwards, left handed, with strings reversed. I am feeling that Kenny wants to play the turnaround on the Twelve Barr Blues.
Very subtle message there from Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
Those two guilded chairs, in the garage, where the White Virgi Hellcat is at, are what you need to turn around. Just one of them. Arrange the two chairs such that the Arm Rests are touching, a Arrrrmmm rest handshake there. From above, Bird's Eyes Maple view, the two chairs form a letter S when arranged correctly.
(Saturn & Jupiter will be one degree apart in the knight sky.)
The S is a Grommet female terror soldier. She has a gauge piercing between her vaginal and anal cavity. (garage ideas here) The pierced gauge is usually plugged with a inserted grommet, for feminine highgene, while it is removed, or, a specially customized Grommet is inserted there depending on the kind of attack plan the Grommet terror soldier is to carry out.
Kenny says: "Turn the Grommets around", or, “Make Grommets”, or some other message about Grommet Soldiers, and PG drives the message. See John Bohlinger.
What does it mean?
Idunno.
I do know that the news about Saturn & Jupiter appearance in the knight sky with just one degree of space between is the "taint" in the sky.
737 MAX Airplane Grommets all over the place, thousands of them, releasing gas. That is what the Grommet is for. The inserted Grommet that also has a donut hole within, serves as a place where the nitrous gas release tube of the rectally holstered nitrous tank, "crosses" over from one cavity to the other. The human female Grommet soldier sounds like a frog when the apparatus is used outdoors. Many Grommets hiding in a wooded area, sound like many frogs. In a city environment, many Grommet soldiers all in a line at an event near a flood drain in a curb, also sound like many frogs. The frog sounds that are produced. are searched for by people who are nearby, they hear the frogs, and want to see the frogs. There are no frogs though, there are Grommet terror soldiers. There are swordsmen hiding in the darkness where the Frog Grommets are playing their tune.
The story about the two planets is a way to say to "heat the frying pan by one degree". Frog in a Frying Pan terror attack is done, Kenny called it, news media made it happen.
It could be a much bigger event than a Grommet in the woods making frog sounds while releasing gas to lure  victims into a creek area in the night to search for frogs. It could be a Boeing Bouncing Bullfrog of 737 MAX overhead attack to assist many ground soldier swordsmen. Bouncers at The Club while Rikky Riccardo is playing Babaloo. "Lucy... Grommet Math, one more time:
The Grommet’s are sometimes called “YoSoY”, with that arrangement of capital Y, S and lower case o.
Yo = Frontwards; Forward
S = The Grommet itself, a plug installed in the Septum that exists between the vagina and anal cavity of the female, nitrous gas armed, Grommet terror soldier.
oY = Backwards, Yo.
The plug is removed sometimes, is modified to produce desired sound effects, and other effects that are beyond what I know, and is useful for releasing a very subliminal and primal odor, one that is not supposed to be there, but is there, when the Grommet attack happens. That right there causes a lot of problems for marked men at the attack area. The odor of the female is there, so is the nitrous gas, mixed with Medazolam.
Modern warfare is advanced with old proven means, with the addition of modern technology.
Not all of the Grommet soldiers are gauged that way by choice. Many are kidnapped US Citizen victims who’s parents were killed, then were trained as disposable terror soldier captive slaves. There are many kidnapped child terror soldiers taken from the schools. The schools taken over, serve as terror training centers. Children receive a specialized education at the schools, and the schools are protected by the terror army. They don’t look like terror training centers, they look like public schools, and are maintained the same as public schools have always been maintained, with some modifications that could be found if only there were some people willing to watch the baby.
YoSoY is the Grommet soldier in written form, or graphic form adaptations, such as the two guilded chairs in Kenny Wayne Shepherd’s Hellcat Virgin White Garage where those chairs make the S septum when the VooDoo Chile voice is spoken the way the Shepherd says to say it. “Slight Return“.
The video was presented originally more than ten years ago when Oregon was slaughtered, people all killed and replaced with Canadian terror army soldiers, thus, the Slight Return of the VooDoo Chile is important for repeat of the same attack that already worked successfully in Oregon, is commanded to commence again, to take over other regions.
Where? Everywhere, that’s where.
When? now and ongoing for fifty years, this is the final blow, the Boeing Bounce at the Club. French North American Republic Territory comes next, replaces the geographic region that is currently occupied by Canada, USA, and Mexico. A new nation. It’s a Communist Kingdom. Mitt Romney is scheduled as first King, Justin Trudeau as first Prime Minister. That leadership arrangement may have changed, maybe not.
The Romney/Trudeau arrangement is not difficult to see that Romney is to be presented as a Front Man for the show, a magician, has a lot of hokus pokus up his Mormon sleeve, and can summon a lot of “Dark Side” Mormons to do whatever needs doing in the “New Salem” FNART Capital, wherever it may be. While Trudeau is the Queen‘s Pet, the real power, has the teeth of HMS Trudeau behind him. The French part is a nod to Quebec.

There is a lot to look at today on the Twitter news feed of terror commands. Do your own research to find connecting stories about overhead ideas. There, you may find clues that could be used to stop a massive attack with poison gasses delivered from the sky, sea, and ground. Gas that precedes and assists sword wielding terror army soldiers who are well equipped with tools and vehicles that are designed for road building, but are used as weapons, detour, delay and distraction, and housecleaning afterwords, associated with the aerial attack from above.
I just included a small glimpse of the terror comm, there is much to look at today, and a lot of that is distraction, cover and confusion service provided by newsmedia to slow efforts to stop the attack of Corona Virus/COVID.

Use a lighter, burn candles. The gas they bring is flammable. Light them up and watch as they burst into bits, and launch into orbit like a rocket.

Bonus (see additional comments below in the comments area) 6:58 pm:
Donald Trump and other Verified Accounts have been referring to “Tense” conditions about some different things presented on Twitter, this is only one clue about the Ford Bronco for 2021 of many that are available to find if you look for them. It’s a big deal. The Bronco serves many uses, but the most important one is that it’s a reincarnation of a Land Rover Range Rover w/three factory roofs in 1990 or so. See the Bronco as a Crowning Achievement for terror soldiers from Canada, lead by SAG and Britain. See it as the horse on which a Royal Canadian Mounted Police is perched, in command at US State Police Offices throughout USA. That will get you started.

Additional 12-5-2020: 11:59 am:
These young people are super talented.
This tune was posted to YouTube on Thursday 12-3-2020. Close your eyes, and give a listen.
youtube
Music industry producers use these kinds of talented people to advance a message. They have no choices but to go with the flow.
Right now in 2020, we are, and have been experiencing a black hole where the good music used to be, these guys fill the void, the producers know it.
They have been inserted into the terror time-line. These guys are used as some kind of small place holder to say messages about the advance progression towards the aerial Boeing gas attack we are about to receive. They, along with the insertion of Greta Thunberg, are like the minute markers on a clock.
minutes.
Thunberg fits in with a pirate motif. She showed up in USA, by boat, unchecked, from Europe, at a time when Guatemala Caravan people were being tossed into captivity at containment centers, separated children from parents, families broken apart, help captive, while Greta Thunberg waltzed right in during the same set, at the same show, at the same concert, at the same venue... USA.
So, the bus came by sea. The victims were taken on land, far away from where the sea bus landed on shore.
Greta Van Fleet has been around a little longer than the Thunberg Sea Bus, as far as I can tell, but maybe not. I remember Greta Thunberg from the Beta Twitter in 2008, but I don’t recall knowing of this other Greta, Van Fleet, until around 2013 or so.
I am bringing this into this entry because of the timeline, and the Amazon Prime 100,000 Renault Delivery vans that are deployed now, doing nitrous gas refill work for mobile terror soldiers on attack on location, globally.
There is a Trinity Rule that I can see developing in the reveal, and that Grata Van Fleet tune has an eerie sort of Apocalypse now kind of Jim Morison sort of The Doors vibe happening in it... I can almost smell the napalm in the morning after hearing “The Age of Machine” today.
I like the song, the band members are talented, they are young, and are being used to send the message of the Producers.
The Trinity Rules I am seeing develop are in that there are two Greta’s, each one has it’s own thing going on that is of interest, there is another Greta out there somewhere that will show up to satisfy the Trinity terror rules. It will a Ghost Ship though. So, you take two Greta’s, one came by sea, one is on stage singing songs with interesting titles, there is a traffic song they do, and some others, interesting videography from Greta Van Fleet, and Greta Thunberg is also an interesting videography, is also “On Stage”, just a different stage, an abstract one.
The idea about the Fleet in the name, combined with that catamaran, and that the band plays a song called the Safari Song, and other small connecting dots, suggests that the connection to the Trinity for the Ghost Ship to come soon, is contained in a “Fleet”. A Fleet of Boeing Grounded 737 MAX. That is worthy of inclusion here with the Ford Bronco for 2021, in a round-a-bout, mysterious way.
I am still trying to reach US and Global security people with this part of the entry from yesterday. The timing I have in seeing what I saw to write about is matching the advance of the terror comm in explainable ways... I need help, I need more brain power to unravel all of the small parts of the terror puzzle that GCHQ built with help from SAG Writers Guild.
Please help.
I like this song too, I think that place in the video is called “Vasquez Rocks”, along the 15 Freeway between San Bernardine, and Victorville, where a very long train is almost always on the tracks on the opposite side of the 15 there.
When the Curtain Falls ~Greta Van Fleet
What kind of curtain do you suppose could happen?
“Cocktails... cocktails...”
