Can we do that again?
It's Auroras first summer topside and the lake is finally warm enough to swim in it.
Character: Aurora, Swiss, Dewdrop, Aether, Alpha, Omega, Zephyr (Mountain, Phantom, Ifrit, Rain mentioned) Word count: 1218
Tumblr media
It was Aurora's first summer topside, and she was excited, to say the least. The last days had been hot, the sun shining bright, and only a few clouds in the sky. The ghouls and siblings appreciated the old stone walls of the abbey, where barely any heat could penetrate.
Rain and the other water ghouls had been swimming in the lake for weeks already, but Aether and Omega had forbidden the others to do so because the water was still too cold. Swiss thought they worried too much but still listened to them.
“You coming, Rora?” the ghoul asked, and she nodded, grabbing her towel to follow him outside. She was wearing swimming trunks that matched Phantom's. They were black with orange bats printed on them, obviously chosen by the young quint. With that, she wore a simple black top Mist had given her.
When they reached the small beach, she saw the two older quints and Alpha lying in the sun, the fire ghoul obviously more asleep than awake. Dewdrop was standing knee-deep in the water, his tail excitedly tapping the surface, watching Rain floating in the middle of the lake, while Mountain and the others were just swimming around.
Swiss went in and swam over to the others, while Aurora stood next to Dew, a bit unsure now. She knew how to swim but still needed time to adjust to the new situation.
“Do you miss it?” she asked the guitarist suddenly, and Dew turned his head to look at her, a small smile grazing his lips. Aurora had never met him as a water ghoul.
“A bit,” he answered honestly. He had a soft spot for the newest members of the pack, though he wouldn’t admit it. “But I feel better this way. And I don’t need to be a water ghoul to swim, do I?”
She nodded, but Dew saw the hesitation in her eyes and raised an eyebrow.
“You wanna go in together?”
The question was simple, but it was Dewdrop who asked it. He wasn’t the type of ghoul to be all soft and caring on the outside; that was Aether's job. And still, he couldn’t help himself when it came to Aurora. Maybe because she reminded him of himself, he had no idea, to be honest.
“Yeah,” she answered, and Dew nodded, taking a step forward and waiting for her to follow. When he turned his head, he saw Aether's phone pointed at them and shook his head with an eye roll; sappy bastard.
Rora thought the water had a strange sensation. In the pits, the lakes where you could swim had always been warm, but she stopped every few steps now, and it took some time to get used to the temperature, especially at her upper body. But she liked it. And Dewdrop waited with her, not minding the time it took her. He just stood there, his gaze wandering between her and Phantom, who had discovered that he could jump off Mountain's shoulder and seemed to be having the time of his life.
The moment she swam over to the rest, the small fire ghoul swam further out, and everyone knew he was going for Rain.
Swimming was exhausting. That’s what she realized after half an hour. And while the others stayed in, most of them just floating around now, she was also getting cold and decided to get out and dry off. So naturally, she decided to sit down with the retired ghouls, towel wrapped around her shoulders and sandy feet on their blanket. Alpha, who was actually awake now, gave her a threatening stare for that. He was still lying on the ground, front side exposed to the sun, head rested in Omega's lap while watching the others.
Aurora chuckled at the glare, not taking the older ghoul seriously. She had seen Alpha furious and knew he was just joking. The water was still dripping from her hair and legs, the towel already completely damp.
“Ifrit, Zeph,” Omega looked over his shoulder to see the two ghouls coming over to them. They greeted them, and the young multi felt a bit reserved now, even more so when Ifrit handed Zeph his hearing aid and ran off to the water. She hadn’t talked much with the air ghoul yet, and she had high respect for them. That they sat down next to her made her dunk her head a bit lower.
The defensive attitude wasn’t unnoticed, of course, and she found herself face to face with the air ghoul. A smile grazed their lips as they saw the young multi. Swiss had talked much about her the last time they had shown him something, and he had mentioned her uncertainty around people she didn’t know well. So they looked away again but raised their hand. Zephyr loved to play with their element, and they couldn’t hold back the smirk as the sudden wind hit Ifrit in the back, making him fall over.
“Hey!” he protested, turning around, wet hair sticking to his forehead. Next to them, Zeph heard Aurora chuckle, not minding the fire ghoul anymore.
“Do you want me to show you how you can do that?” they asked her then, taking the initiative to get to know her.
Rora looked at the water and then at Zephyr and then at Aether, who nodded at her. So she also nodded.
“Yes.”
“Then come.” The air ghoul stood up, their knee cracking, but they held out their hand for her, and she took it, standing up too. After a short consideration, she decided to leave the towel on the blanket and dropped it there before following the older ghoul to the small pier.
“You know how to use the air, right?” they asked, and she nodded again. Aurora had learned some tricks in the pit and also after her summoning, but she knew that Zephyr was one of the mightiest ghouls in the ministry when it came to controlling their element.
“Okay,” they smiled and stood behind her, one arm stretched out in front, and Rora could feel the surrounding air. She felt how Zeph controlled it, bringing it in front of them to steer it in the right direction.
“Now try to take it over,” they told her. “Concentrate on it.”
It was a weird feeling, like there was no air around her, but it pulled at her hand, so it must be there. Zephyr moved to stand beside her.
“Good. Now I’ll count to three, and you’ll push your hand forward and let go of the air,” the air ghoul said then. Of course, they were controlling most of it, but she was a multi, after all, and had never done something like this before. “One… two… three!”
Zeph barely needed to push their hand, but Aurora did it, and the wind hit the water, making surprisingly big waves.
“Did you see that?” Aurora laughed, the pure joy written on her face. Zephyr was exactly how the others told her they would be; maybe even more fun.
“Aeth! Did you see that?” she asked louder, turning around to look at the quint.
“It was really cool, Rora!” he agreed with a smile.
“Can we do that again?”
Zephyr chuckled but nodded." _____________________
it was really much fun to write Rora and i hope you guys like her
@sister-nyx it's definitely not what i planned to write, but i hope you like it nonetheless

Until you find me hiding, silently I wait.
1.3k words of aeon just wanting to help, and dew feeling bad.
cw: aeon’s anxious as always, dew has a nightmare, aeon is referred to as younger and little but he is very much fully grown
part one part two part three part four
under the cut, if you please <3
Aeon shouldn’t have been awake.
He should’ve been asleep hours ago just like everyone else was. He was just as exhausted as they were, so why in Lucifer’s name was he still awake?
A pained whimper and a quick shuffle of sudden movement sounded from across the aisle.
That’s why.
Aeon could feel the Dewdrop’s distress pouring out from the behind the fire ghoul’s privacy curtain, creating a thick fog of darkness that reeked of trauma.
Another sudden shuffle and Aeon had to peak out from behind his curtain, scared Dew was about to fall out of bed.
Aeon glanced around desperately, hoping a ghoul that Dew actually liked would wake up and help him out of his fear. When Aeon didn’t sense a single shift in consciousness from any of the the other ghouls, he swallowed harshly and got out of his bunk, shuffling over to Dew’s.
He slowly pulled Dew’s privacy curtain back, his tail coiling around his ankle when he saw Dewdrop’s eyebrows pinched together, tears leaking from his closed eyes, rolling down his temples and the bridge of his nose. He could see Dew’s eyes rapidly flitting back and fourth behind his eyelids, making Aeon’s stomach twist up with anxiety.
Aeon knew that he shouldn’t do this; that Dew would be so incredibly upset if he found out Aeon was even thinking about helping him out of his terror.
Still, Aeon couldn’t let someone in his pack struggle when he knew exactly how to help.
Aeon took a deep breath and looked down at his hands, smoky purple fog flowing from his fingertips as his quintessence sparked to life in his system.
With another deep breath, Aeon gently touched Dew’s temples, following the path Dew’s mind took to REM sleep.
Suddenly, Aeon’s breath was knocked out of him and an emotional pain like no other shot through his nervous system.
Aeon definitely shouldn’t have done this.
Flashing images of an interaction he and Dew had a few days prior crossed his mind’s eye as he finally arrived at the nightmare Dew was having.
Dew, dream Dew, was yelling at dream Aeon. Really yelling. Aeon couldn’t hear the dream, but he could see the smoke slowly pouring from between Dewdrop’s bared teeth, the tears pouring from his dream self’s lilac eyes.
The fear in those lilac eyes.
It reminded Aeon of an interaction he and Dew had exchanged a few days prior in the green room of a venue. Though, Aeon didn’t remember Dew screaming like he was in the dream. Sure, Dew could get snippy, but he never yelled at Aeon.
Aeon felt Dew’s emotions in his brain in reaction to the dream. Panic, adrenaline, fear, and guilt. The quintessence ghoul had no idea what sort of meaning this dream had, but the way it made Dew feel so awful made him feel awful himself.
Aeon watched as dream Dew continued screaming at his dream self, a frown etched on his face as Dew kept whimpering in his sleep.
Every time dream Aeon flinched, another whimper would leave Dew, the Dew Aeon was able to touch. He watched how dream Dew waved his arms around, his hand coming too close to dream Aeon, making him flinch and cower away from the seething fire ghoul.
It was when, in the dream, Dew swiped at the little quint with his claws that Aeon knew he had to get the borderline hysterical ghoul out of the dream he was stuck in.
“Dew,” Aeon whispered urgently as he gently pulled his consciousness out of Dew’s. “Dew, wake up…” Aeon poked at his shoulder, tears of his own welling in his eyes as he watch Dew begin scratching at himself. Aeon was quick to pull Dew’s claws away from himself, only to gasp in pain when Dew clutched onto him instead, jolting awake.
Aeon held his breath, his lilac eyes meeting Dew’s flaming ones. He watched the fight or flight induced anger in his eyes melt into recognition and then shame. Aeon swallowed harshly, trying not to let his hands shake as much as they were in Dew’s piercing hold.
“Aeon..” Dew whispered after a moment. Another harsh swallow came from the little quint before he nodded, taking in a shaky breath as his stomach churned with anxiety.
“Are you okay?”
Dew’s eyes widened slightly at Aeon’s words, though he didn’t exactly know why he was surprised. Aeon had always tried to gain Dew’s attention and acceptance. Whether it was Aaron hovering close to Dew after he was summoned, or doing small tasks for the fire ghoul that would make his life easier after Dew made it clear he wanted nothing to do with Aeon.
“No.”
Aeon’s stomach twisted up into a ball and gave plenty of room for his heart to drop all the way to hell when he heard Dew’s response. His mind immediately began racing, trying to piece together questions that wouldn’t annoy Dew, but would let the older ghoul know that he was there to help.
He just wanted Dew to be okay. He didn’t have to like him, he didn’t even have to tolerate him. Aeon just wanted Dew to be okay.
“I’m sorry.”
Aeon’s mind went silent. He stared at Dew, shell shocked.
The younger ghoul fumbled for words, but Dew just shook his head, looking down at Aeon’s hand before slowly taking it in his own, brushing his thumb over Aeon’s knuckles as tears began to slip from his eyes again.
“Don’t say anything, please. Just.. I’m sorry, okay?” Dew spoke, his voice breaking as he tried to hold back his tears. Aeon would’ve walked away, he was so used to Dew snapping at him every time he was around while the fire ghoul was being the slightest bit vulnerable, but Dew wasn’t letting his hand go.
Aeon just stood there, listening to Dew’s request and not saying anything. He looked down at his feet, letting Dew continue to hold his hand and brush his thumb over his knuckles.
“Swiss sleeps like a rock if you want to go be with him… What you saw was a lot..” Dew muttered, catching Aeon off guard yet again. Dew knew that he used his quintessence to see his dream?
After a few moments of tense silence, Aeon shook his head and began slowly climbing into Dew’s bunk. Dewdrop tensed and backed up into the wall of the bus, making Aeon freeze and wait for any kind of sign that Dew wanted Aeon to leave.
When Dew didn’t give one, Aeon slowly continued into the bunk. Dew remained tense as Aeon settled next to him, the younger ghoul resting his head on Dew’s shoulder.
Dew’s mind was full of replaying memories of the many nightmares he had experienced, ones much like the one Aeon had just pulled him out of. It was jarring to Dew that Aeon was doing this. The fire ghoul was convinced that Aeon was terrified of him. How was this even possible.
Though, when Aeon relaxed and closed his eyes, Dew realized that the little quint wasn’t as scared of Dew as he thought. Sure, he was maybe a bit nervous, but never scared.
“I’m not who you want me to be, I know..” Aeon whispered, the words he wanted to say next getting stuck in his throat.
Please stop pushing me away.
Dew sat in the silence Aeon left when he didn’t finish his thought, knowing that it would be a while before Aeon finished that sentence out loud.
Dew didn’t respond to Aeon’s spoken words. He didn’t know how to.
Instead, he slowly wrapped his arms around the slightly taller ghoul, sighing softly as Aeon tucked his head under Dew’s chin.
Dew closed his eyes, draping his tail over Aeon’s waist and twining it with some of Aeon’s own tail, as well.
“Goodnight, bug.”
“Goodnight, Dew.”

Rain and Dewdrop Ghouls // Language of Flowers
The meanings of the flowers used in this are listed on their individual Prequelle and Impera flower portraits! Rain Impera / Rain Prequelle / Dewdrop Impera / Dewdrop Prequelle
It's been a while since I got the old beige background out and drew some flowers! I want to draw some different things for a while so I'm having a break from the flowers, but I'll return to the flowers for Phantom and Aurora at some point so I can complete the Impera set!

Mushy May Day 6 & 7 - You're Blushing & Gift Giving (Aether/Dew)
Did a little bit of prompt combining and swapping this time around! Thank you again @forlorn-crows for organizing this. Normally writing challenges are really hard for me, but I'm having SO much fun with this one. And thank you @ghuleh-recs for the adorable dividers!
Day 6 & 7 - You're Blushing & Gift giving, Aether/Dew, no warnings, 1426 words
PS - See the end of the work for notes/photos of what Aether and Dew got for each other!
Tumblr media
It’s their summoning day - eight whole years since the day Aether and Dew were summoned together straight from the Pit to serve the ministry. As with all summoning days, the pack throws a huge party, inviting all the ghouls and siblings in the abbey to celebrate. Papa even makes an appearance to toast his two longest-serving band ghouls.
It’s a huge party, full of food lovingly prepared by Mountain and tasty cocktails served up by Sunny and Aurora. Swiss has appointed himself DJ for the night, knowing just what to play to keep everyone in the mood to party. There’s even a cake, and later, the pack goes around the room one by one, each giving Aether and Dew a thoughtful little gift.
Finally, the night grows late and the celebrations begin to wind down, and Aether and Dew excuse themselves after exchanging a final round of bear hugs and big, wet kisses (Phantom is definitely not drunk, thank you) with the other members of the pack before heading back to their shared room.
They always wait to exchange their gifts for each other in private, a tradition they started just one year after their joint summoning. The same year they promised themselves to each other as mates.
As soon as their door is closed, however, Dew’s mood shifts. He seems anxious, eyes immediately darting over to the brown paper gift bag he’d set on the nightstand with Aether’s name written carefully across the tag.
“Can you go first?” Dew asks, uncharacteristically reserved.
Aether smiles, unsure as to why the normally confident little fire ghoul might be so nervous, and passes his gift over. It’s wrapped simply in white paper with a red bow on top and the tag says “Dew,” with a little heart drawn next to it. Dew takes it and carefully tears into one of the corners of the paper with a claw.
“You didn’t!” Dew exclaims, immediately recognizing the mystery object. He rips through the rest of the wrapping with abandon and pulls out a hefty box set of DVDs in smart, red packaging.
“I did!” Aether beams, proud of himself and delighting in the way Dew is already ripping off the cellophane and flipping through the sizable book of disks with a massive grin on his pretty face. “Couldn’t have us running out of movies to watch on kung-fu night, now could we?”
“Yes!! You’re the best, Aeth!” Dew exclaims with delight, throwing his arms around the quintessence ghoul and showering his face in kisses. “Gotta pace ourselves this time though. We watched them all way too fast last time.” He looks back at Aether with wide, expectant eyes.
Aether nods in agreement and presses a kiss to Dew’s forehead. Happy that his nerves seemed to have calmed for the time being and ecstatic that Dew loves his gift so much.
Dew flips through the disks for another few moments, rattling off all the titles he’s most excited to see. Finally, he sets his gift down and reaches for the bag he has waiting on the nightstand.
“Ok, my turn,” he says, and all but shoves the gift straight into Aether’s chest.
Aether takes the bag and contemplates the little ghoul for a moment.
“You’re blushing,” he informs him, matter-of-factly.
Dew’s head whips up.
“Um, I am definitely not blushing,” he answers with an indignant little pout.
“No, no. You are definitely blushing,” Aether assures him. “Should I be worried about what’s in this thing?” he teases, holding the bag up next to his ear and shaking it gently.
“Oh my god just open it already before I change my mind and throw it out the damn window,” Dew barks, blushing harder.
Aether leans over to kiss the other ghoul on the lips apologetically before turning his attention back to the gift bag in his lap. He carefully takes out the tissue paper and reaches in, pulling out what looks to be a large, leather-bound book.
Dew holds his breath.
Aether sets the gift wrap aside to inspect the book, turning it over in his hands. It’s heavy, hand-bound in a supple black leather with a beautifully embossed crescent moon in the center of the cover. Below the moon are two alchemical symbols, also embossed, one for fire and one for quintessence, and around the edges and corners is an elaborate, twisting geometric design. Aether turns the book over in his hands. Along the spine are four brass rivets and in the center, a beautiful piece of brass antique hardware with scalloped edges and a natural patina.
Aether flips the book’s cover open. There he finds beautifully hand-marbled paper with a bright purple scalloped pattern. There’s a hand-stamped bookplate affixed to the inner cover too, a black and white image of a crescent moon surrounded by a sky of stars, reading ex libris in Latin across the top. On the bottom someone has written “A+D” with a calligraphy pen. And finally, hanging inside and bound into the spine is a thin, black leather bookmark with a tiny brass star charm matching the look of the hardware on the spine.
It’s absolutely beautiful and like nothing Aether has ever seen before. But despite the antique look of the book, it smells brand new.
“Dew, did you make this?” Aether looks up at the fire ghoul in awe, mouth agape as he realizes.
Dew’s still blushing, and he reaches to rub the back of his neck awkwardly.
“Yeah… Mountain helped me with it. Showed me how to emboss the leather and bind all the pages together and everything.” He looks up at Aether. “I messed up a bunch though, so it’s not perfect or anything,” he explains, still rubbing the back of his neck. “I wanted to make a more elaborate bookplate too, but I ran out of time because I kept fucking up the paper marbling…” he trails off.
“There’s uh.. There’s more too.” He starts again. “If you open it.”
Aether carefully opens the book again, this time to the first proper page, where he’s greeted by a collage of photos, little pieces of paper, and other flat objects, lovingly and meticulously affixed to the pages. The first photo is of Aether and Dew, way back on their very first day in the band together. The very first day they met. They stand side by side, not close enough to touch, silver masks pulled over their faces and obscuring their expressions. Dew stands rigid straight with his chest puffed out and his bass strapped across his front. Aether looms tall next to him, shiny new black Fantomen guitar in his hands.
Aether flips through the book and sees their entire history laid out in front of him. Photos of Dew slouched over, fast asleep in his seat on the tour bus. Aether caught with a mouth full of ramen noodles at a restaurant in Tokyo. There are more than just photos too. A pair of their first guitar picks, lovingly used and placed beside each other. A pressed flower, the first flower Aether playfully passed over to Dew after catching it from an audience member. There are little scraps of paper torn from hotel room notepads with silly drawings on them. Pamphlets from tourist traps that Dew insisted they stop at while on the road. A menu from their favorite taco spot in Mexico City. Pages and pages of photos and objects full of cherished memories.
An archive of them.
Aether can’t find the words, so Dew breaks the silence. “I only filled it halfway… since I figured we’ve got so much more to add in the future.”
Aether makes a choked sound, and Dew looks up at him for the first time since he opened the gift.
“You’re crying.” Dew informs him, a smug little grin creeping across his face.
Aether sniffles. “No I am not…”
“Ok, fine. Maybe I am a little bit,” he immediately concedes, wiping away the tears that start to stream down his cheeks.
Aether sets his precious gift down on the bed and pulls Dew in for a hug, wraps his arms tight around the little ghoul and presses kisses and happy tears into the top of his head.
“Thank you, Dew,” he says after a while of holding his favorite ghoul in the world tight in his arms. “I love it so much, I don’t even know what to say.”
Dew reaches up and pulls Aether down for a kiss. He doesn’t even know why he was nervous at all in the first place.
Dew's gift. What I based Aether's book on, what the marbled paper looks like, and examples of what a bookplate looks like!

Into the Eyes of Fire
for the one and only, my love, @miasmaghoul. happiest of (early) birthdays to you!!
Relationship(s): Ifrit/Dew
Rating: E (and N for NASTY)
Tags: blowjobs, classic feminization, degradation, rimming, nasty fucking, overstim, and a little piss. iffie is a big bad ghoul and dew is so so into it.
Words: 5691
Summary: The look in question happened only a few hours ago: the pair of them gallivanting around the stage, charging at each other like wild bulls during the bridge of Year Zero. Until Ifrit rose up on his toes, hovering only a few inches above Dew as he leaned in for a mock kiss. He may as well have been two feet taller with the way his rich brown eyes bore straight into Dew's, getting closer and closer until the water ghoul was forced to pull away.
It was no more than a few seconds. But the shared look between the two of them was more than enough to convey Dew's desperate thoughts.
Ifrit had regarded him with a calculating stare as keycards were handed out for the evening, grasping Dew by the arm and pulling him flush to his side as they made the short trek up to the room—separating from him only long enough to shove their bags in the bathroom and hook the latch over the door.
Now Dew whimpers, barely loud enough to be considered a sound. His head thumps against the wall, hips canting into Ifrit’s.
The fire ghoul chuffs, nails tracing patterns into the exposed skin around the hemline of Dew’s shirt, goosebumps rising in their wake. “Gonna make you cry; that’s what you want, isn’t it, baby?”
