Ep 10 might be the best beast yeast ep ever baring ep 8, I actually can't decide which is my no 1 as they're both absolutely fantastic. Warning: ep10-11 spoilers, the post got way too long so I'm putting undercut, there's also ship talk which um, yup, abandon hope ye who enter:

About ships:

I'm putting this first to get it out of the way... It's canon, it's actually canon guys no more denying it alright. BxA fans keep on winning as always, some joke about it but I seriously won't be surprised if salt does straight up proposed to wl once it's their turn. Honestly I can't believe how blatant they went with it. The pride month post, the costume, everything about esugar and holly's relationship EVERYTHING. Esugar even called holly "my love" several times, as least in her costume if I remember right.

Wedding confirmed, right on time for June too ty devsis!!

Ok ok I jest, still, ppl would argue it's one-sided therefore non canon but I would argue affections being explicitly confirmed in one party is a pretty big deal in of itself. Holly on her part accepted esugar n even agreed to be her other half, now if only esugar agreed to stop trapping ppl in jars.

That said, I'm really hoping players won't go out of their way to scream "fanservice" at the story, I've seen this happen w smilk's update. It's sad seeing fans dismiss good writing as yaoi or yuri bait when the beasts' wish to keep their ancients close play a big role in their characters. That said I don't want non-shipper to feel forced into liking BxA or even admit they're canon, I just want them to leave shippers alone ok since it's clear BxA didn't come outta nowhere, don't dismiss the writing when it's clear the writers DID puts efforts into it.

No more "b-but it make no sense, they only wanted the souljam!" ok it may apply to mflour but esugar does not give a single fuck, she won't take the souljam at least not by force. We have in-game dialogues of her confirming it, I need people to stop saying they only wanted the souljam since that's not only untrue but is an active simplification of their motivations!

About our beast/ancient duo:

A couple of Hollyberry scenes almost make me cry... It's great, it's amazing, beast-yeast partly serve as a revisit to the ancients' characters so having the story digs into her past was everything I needed. Sad dcacao-goldie didn't get the same treatment, we can only hope they get a revisit one day. Dunno if this is controversial but- while the game now confirmed hollyberry does have a drinking problem. I don't want fans to flanderize n make it holly's only trait, we do know she have a problem but we can assume the severity of it does fluctuates, we've seen several instances of holly's drinking n not all of them are shown in a bad light. Compared to, let's say, her Triumph of Sloth costume which arguably is holly at her worst mental-wise n have her dialogues mention drinking several times. In short, I just hope fans would depict these subjects w the nuances they needed. The same thing apply to pv's eating disorder that's, while the game did hint at, is still unconfirmed n only a headcanon as of now. The fandom have a problem with misinformation+taking theory/headcanon as canon in general tbh.

I really enjoyed the revelation about holly's empty heart, the story did touched on the survival-guilt she got after the dark flour war before n I'm so glad it is brought up again. Holly avoiding love in general does track w her attitude toward royal magarine's flirting n her cake hound decor lol. As explained in her awakened's description she cloaked a shield around herself, so much that she didn't noticed the cracks forming within.

Cookie run mostly focused on platonic relationship but this time we got romantic love playing its role as one of the extra themes within the story. Royal berry+jungleberry cookie are one of the few married/explicitly romantic/not one-sided couples within cookie run lore. To get a bit personal here, I find it way too relatable seeing pavlova (being the cookie ver of eros/cupid/romantic love) constantly telling holly she'll be happy once she accepted love into her heart. And the implication that holly is deliberately ignoring the affections of those around her. It's a revelation I find endlessly interesting. Note, despite her Awakening along w accepting pain as something one have to face in life, her "empty heart" has yet to have a 100% resolution. I kinda like how all of the ancients still have unresolved issues despite their Awakening, cacao not yet reuniting w choco, goldie not yet recovering her kingdom, vani and his 99+ problems... And damn what did holly meant by "I've learned from experience"?? My celibate queen who hurt you?...

Also, the reveal that hollyberry did resented wl make me tweak. Here we though the ancients sans goldie was too forgiving but turned out the truth is far more complicated. Good stuff. (the gang have no idea how insane I am about this one line)

Weirdly enough I'm not as attached to esugar as I am w the other beasts. Before the update she's my 2nd beast based on design alone but after reading the story, um, she might be my 4th writing-wise. It's a matter of personal opinion, her story is still incredibly well-written all things considered. I just don't vibe w her like I do the rest of the beast ig?? (Current ranking for anyone wondering: 1st mflour; 2nd smilk; 3rd spice; 4th esugar; salt is undecided)

I am thriving so, SO hard w this ep. That scene near the end where we can only hear esugar's voice, the godly choir in the bgm n sugarfly screaming her heart out in terror. Peak, so so PEAK. The "don't leave" scene was sooo fire, someone made a dub compilations of it, my favs are the English n Taiwanese dub. Some of the voice actresses were screaming their lines at the end of it, peak. That one sprite of hers might be the most terrifying thing the artists over at devsis put out yet I need moreeee. Hoping smilk's new sprites (and he WILL get new sprites not even a prophecy we all know he's the game's darling by now-) managed to outdo this cause that one motivated sprite of his doesn't do it for me tbh. The one where he broke his own neck is close but still kinda eh. Do note how exhausted esugar look here.

I'm kinda sad holly's "ancients psycho-analyze the beasts" speech isn't much of a speech but a couple of short revelations. Esugar's wish to grant cookiekind's happiness is genuine, confirmed, she deluded herself into believing hardship is a unnecessary thing in life, confirmed. Ok it's esugar's reaction to the whole ordeal that's interesting to me. Esugar just zeroing on the fact holly came back for her- will she actually consider the words holly said or not place ur bet now everyone. Esugar being a denial queen does tracks w her theme of sloth, it's running away from pain both physical n mental. Pretending everything is fine (webtoon reference)

I like how at the end esugar insists on decorating her garden for when holly returns despite the garden being the problem in the first place. She's so distracted by her own delusions that she can't recognize pavlova's misery despite him standing right beside her. Not story-related, but another aspect of sloth is when one stopped caring about anything around them, esugar display this aspect in the bond costume. Once she achieved everything she wanted, neither cookies' happiness nor the garden is of any concern to her, all she cares about is staying beside her beloved other half. Did I mentioned she wanted holly? Cuz she wanted that cookie baddd. But it's not just that, holly is the representation of passion. Is it by keeping passion locked within her garden that esugar proved her ideology is the right one. That the happiness she has nurtured for so long is "correct."

>About the supporting cast

Pavlova cookie may ended up being my favorite beast follower, ough, but nutmeg tiger... I can't choose... "Sidekick who's done w their boss' shit" is one of my fav archetype. I'm so glad we got pavlova for that, he's what I expected black sapphire to be tbh. Maybe it's cuz he hits my niche but pavlova's story throughout the ep have been one of the most intensive character development we've got for the beast follower trope. I seriously hope we see more of him, his potential are a-plenty, being the only follower so far who's unhappy w his current disposition. (Current ranking: 1st pavlova/nutmeg I can't decide ok; 2nd the deceitlings; 3rd sugarfly; 4th cloud haetae)

We might see more of sugarfly tho, seeing as she'll be returning to the faerie's kingdom. That scene of her breaking off the sugar coating was beautiful, I like how the game presented it. It's not boom she's able to insta fly again, her wings are permanently messed up after not being in use for so long. There's true beauty in that. Both sugarfly and pavlova ended up going through a transformation in the end. To talk about them though, s*garlova eh? Fitting the update of passion gave us 2 peak af ships, but I only like s*galova as one-sided haha... Let's be real here pavlova treated sugarfly pretty bad😭 He spends all of their interactions pilling his work onto her then/and insulting her for being compliant. It's projections n him secretly being mad she's trapped like him, but feelings are not actions, did he ever do or say anything nice directly to her? Idk. Lil guy just have this love/hate envy/admiration mess of emotions toward sugarfly while my girl be out there living her best life. Again, so much potential here, once they met again they'll be at the opposite side of war. What will their interaction be like?

One of the biggest problems cookie run faced is their large cast. With "large" being an understatement... Most of the time the characters aren't utilized well/ ended up being under-used or misused. Ep 5-6 is the best of the best in term of utilizing characters for reasons I'll elaborate on another day. I'm impressed with how the writers managed to juggles so many characters this time around. Rasberry, wild berry etc etc all got their moments. N the illusion at the end left quite an impact despite holly's loved ones appearing for one dialogue box at most. All in all, I'm quite satisfied with how ep 10 turned out despite tiger lily being the only side cookie that got properly explored imo. My only nitpick is I wish the game presented clearer reasons as to *why* the hollyberians wanted to return to the kingdom. Blueberry wanted to leave cuz the place is gross I think? Funniest thing ever.

Just for fun: cookie run have a thing for yearner x wanderer dynamics. One will just be out there living their life while the other yearns for them, one tend to have some kind of emotional constipation toward the other, they are hinted to may or may not reunite once again. From the top of my head- lord oyster -> black/white pearl (low-tier since one of them is DEAD), pv -> lily, the blue one-> pv, can apply to all BxA ships tbh, sea fairy -> moonlight cookie (the yearning r heavily implied to be mutual in this case), cotton -> sherbet (the yearnings r also heavily mutual, not as much as seam*on tho), now we got pavlova -> sugarfly (New!)

I wish they didn't put him in the title screen though consider he's only in the ep for a single scene, there's some debates on how much smilk's advice played a part in esugar's downfall, but eh. Anyways, IN STORY BEAST INTERACTION IN STORY BEAST INTERACTION AAAA. This lil scene gave us so much tidbits into esugar/smilk's relationship I love it! Esugar appeared very cautious around smilk, yet she never denied her fellow beast the berries. Smilk once again is scheming sth as smilk do. I won't lie I did miss this casually cackling clown. The passive-aggressiveness, smilk giving advice leaving us to wonder if it's sincere or not. Back when the beasts got revealed fans locked in(tm) n shadow-sugar got the most fanart ship or otherwise. It's still unbelievable to me they're the first beasts duo to get an actual direct interaction in-story. I wonder if it's sth that's added in due to the fandom or sth that the writers already planned n the fans r just that in-tuned. I'm willing to bet the former seeing as the sh*dowsugar fans r not, mm, happy w their canon dynamic. Again the amount of "yuri bait"/"they ruined esugar's character" discourse gave me a headache (I have to emphasize some, only SOME shippers do, all the sane sh*dowsugar fans I wish u a very good day). Gang we all know the beasts mostly don't like each other just by their battle dialogue by now. Everyone, ship what u want, I'm just praying we won't have anymore blowups when it turned out... Idk spice doesn't care for smilk or sth along those lines.

Side note: smilk/lady azure casually brought up killing cookies for fun in that scene, I got told some fans r actually shocked about that?? I'm sorry but did we read the same story😭 that mf killed off a named character in the INTRO of beast-yeast. Attempted to murder cookies, some included KIDS, several times. Scratch that it's not even an attempt, smilk *did* pushed the gingergang off the spire just for giggles bro. Ik the fandom woobified the clown but for some to collectively forget his crime(s) is, wow- even when lady azure is just standing there the writers have to drive home the amount of crimes this mf has committed, every new smilk appearance is a new crime added to the list it's so funny asdfghj

I used the jp voice-over for this update, funfact esugar straight up called him "gross" in the dub. Talking about it though, I'm insane absolutely insaneee about the way the jp voice actress managed to replicate Toriumi-san's speech pattern, even his iconic "KHEHEHE" laugh. Her voice was so amazingly, wonderfully deep n villainous it feel like my beloved Beatrice is back by my side again.

-Not ep 10 related but I'm seriously insane about the costume, not only is it yuriful but it's the closest we'll ever get to a "beasts win" AU, one let down is we have no intel on the other beasts since the focus is on these two. The story said holly have no foes to protect the garden from so I'm guessing they left the garden alone or is somehow incapacitated. Some of holly's dialogues are so sad, n looking back it's disturbing how many times she mentioned berry juice, also, "her voice… is my paradise" "my heart feels at peace around… her…" bro, bro? Brooo aa aaah hold me bro ough...

-Alongside happiness n love there's also the theme of parenthood, that scene when tiger lily calms her crying dad by giving him berries.. Can make a grown man cry tbh. We were so close to a family reunion, what a fool I am, for thinking the game might finally resolve a plot thread. Truly we're all fools, gotta wait 5+ more years for it.

-Rip "silent salt is elder faerie" theory it was fun while it lasted (or did it...?) So much details in one image. I'll take whatever ef official art I can get. Interestingly enough ef represented the moon here while the guest resemble the sun w their golden halo. Ef have vines n foliage which is wl's motif not his, the foliage here doesn't resemble the silver tree's branches either. Hm... While the guest have three claw marks ripping them apart. Must this be silent salt? The majority of the fandom agreed so. I'm curious what everyone else's theory is.

Sometimes I get a little sad about the fact that I, a gay person, have been loving and supporting bts with Jimin and Jungkook as my biases for almost 7 years and never felt comfortable enough to show love for them as anything more than a friend duo. I’ve even been a quite vocal shipping-anti, don’t agree with the way shippers often behave, certainly don’t agree with companies gay4pay’ing while openly lgbtq artists are discriminated against and harassed. Not to mention having your sexuality and relationships speculated on can be incredibly traumatic. None of it sat right with me, no matter how normalized it is.

But with time I’ve come to realize the lines are blurry sometimes. Jikook is one of those times. For example now seeing that gcf post, Jungkook editing with those lyrics when jimin is on screen, the Tokyo one too with the Troye Sivan song, I am once again conflicted. What if all I’ve been doing for all these years is miss the opportunity to support real representation, to validate queer idols? What if they wanted to be seen? I’ve been actively dismissing so much about them just to be respectful, but what if the more respectful thing would have been to embrace them? I know I would have felt incredibly frustrated if people kept brushing aside all my efforts to show love for my partner and this part of my identity. So which one is worse? I honestly don’t know anymore and that’s why I just stay quiet on them altogether.

I don’t think you’re wrong for intentionally avoiding putting a label on whatever Jikook might have, because the truth is, they’ve never explicitly told us what they are to each other. As a shipper who spends time on social media discussing Jikook and the nature of their relationship extensively, I am fully aware that I’m being invasive. This feels invasive because, while I believe they might have a need to be seen for who they truly are, I don’t think they’re actively trying to reveal that to the world…at least not yet.

I have a great deal of respect for those who choose to honor their privacy by not digging too deeply into their personal lives. Some of us are far too curious, and while we may feel a strong need to openly support what we believe they are, that doesn’t necessarily justify how much we probe.

It’s also important to remember that at the end of the day, everything we discuss is speculation. None of us know for a fact what Jimin and Jungkook truly are to each other. I wouldn’t fault anyone for their perspective, no matter what they choose to do. I don’t mind people who are anti-shipping because they see it as invasive….it is invasive, after all. My issue is with those who use anti-shipping as a cover to invalidate or disrespect Jikook’s bond. Likewise, I can’t stand those whose homophobia blinds them to the simple truth that love is love, even between bandmates who have lived together for years.

It’s perfectly okay to respect their privacy by not delving too deeply into analyzing their lives while still supporting them in a healthy, respectful way for whatever they are.

I also don’t think Jimin and Jungkook would only appreciate support for the idea of them as lovers. I believe they would be happy knowing people support their bond…whether it’s romantic, platonic, or brotherly. As long as you actively support and acknowledge the love they have for each other(which they constantly show us) regardless of its nature, you really can’t go wrong.

Hey, I know you’re a big defender of The Owl House and I'm assuming its canon ships, including Lumity, but I just never really connected with the pairing. It felt rushed—like the writers focused more on making them a cute couple than fully developing their dynamic. Amity’s redemption didn’t feel earned, and her relationship with Luz lacked meaningful conflict, which made it feel less organic.

On top of that, I feel like Amity's entire character arc starts revolving around Luz too much once they get together. Before their relationship, Amity had compelling struggles—her toxic family, her inner conflict about breaking away from the elite social hierarchy—but once she and Luz become a couple, all of that takes a backseat. She doesn't get much development outside of her romantic role, and her personal growth starts feeling less like her own journey and more like something that happens because of Luz.

I wish Amity had been given more space to grow independently rather than having so much of her character tied to their relationship. (I actually made a post about this, but I’m more interested in hearing your thoughts since we seem to have very different views on the show.)

I know you probably see it differently though, so I’m curious—what makes Lumity work so well for you? What do you think about the way the show handled their relationship? Also, do you prefer any other ships in The Owl House besides Lumity? I'm curious if there are any other pairings you think were better developed or more compelling. I personally prefer Willuz and Lunter over Lumity.

I'm not the biggest shipper as stated in all other ship based asks but I also recognise I the other points and the way their relationship is in the story

1. I and a lot of people actually quite enjoy the 'rushedness' (I don't have a better word for it, but I wish I did)because it's nice to see a relationship have more screen time than the pining stage. It's set up in most shows for romantic relationships to be an endgame where they focus on pining towards a relationship for seasons and seasons before they get together near the finale and I like how the owl house subverted that and cut to the chase (At least because I understand relationships themselves more than atrraction).

2. really think her redemption was earned as it was so self reflection driven, especially in lost in language where she chooses to reflect on her own patterns of behaviour completely of her own volition, she's less actively mean but still is enabling the bad behaviour of others showing she still has a way to go. I like how when she messes up, she chooses to undo her bad actions, in covention the everlasting oath and admit her fault, albeit in an indirect kinda harsh way and in understanding willow where she fixes willow's mindscape before choosing to address what she'd been avoiding, explain her actions while taking them on as her responseability and the weak thing to do and then how willow still hasn't completely forgiven as a friend her but accepts amity's choices as a start and then she from then on stops allowing her old friends to be mean to her either as well as herself. (Sorry for spending so long on one small statement)

3. I don't understand the lack of conflict points itself because lumity had quite a bit of conflict, from amity realising Luz's meeting with her mother didn't go well and that luz was keeping secrets before deciding to respect her privacy and confront her about it and the whole of reaching out. So, for this point, I just don't understand.

3. While I do think we should've gotten more of amity with other people, they also got together just before season 2b, where they'd try to develop lots of characters per episode, so they probably wanted to do them at the same time. That being said, there was definitely still time they could've developed amity on her other arcs, which would've been more of a good thing.

I don't really ship any non-cannon ships, I'm not a big shipper, and I like friendship.

cyberlife putting magnets in connors feet is canon to me now. i left the fandom some time ago, now im back, so i can enjoy all the fanworks that came out while my brainrot was dormant. but im so shocked at how widespread the notion that hankcon is problematic now is. it was the main ship a couple of years ago? and now the main tag is flooded with negativity. and idk if my claims hold any water, but i feel like the dynamics that were quite commonly used for hank x connor now are used for reed900? when did this fandom decide that two characters which 1) appear rarely and only to be an asshole and 2) doesn't even have any lines are a better ship than those two bastards who are literally insane about each other? (none of their interactions are normal, but its so in character for both of them, i love it) anyway, i hope you didnt have to experience any of said negativity and are doing well, cause i loved your fanfics <3

Welcome back to the fandom! Sometimes I wish I had been here from the very beginning, because even when I showed up in 2020 it was like this. I remember wandering into the ship tag, naive and desperate for conktent, and finding nothing but “hankcon shippers are perverts” and literal comparisons between a thirty year old man and a six year old boy 🥲 I pretty much avoided tumblr entirely because of it and stayed exclusively on twitter the first couple years! (RIP.) I feel like tumblr has actually gotten better since then? That said, in the four years I’ve been here I’ve somehow managed to avoid any direct hate, probably partially through luck and partially because I’m not afraid to use the block button. It’s never personal, it’s just that I am here for one thing and one thing only and that is old man yaoi. I would also advise staying off of ig and tiktok for fandom content because good god, people are MEAN over there.

As for reed900, the ship doesn’t really do much for me personally, but one thing that I really love about it is that it’s basically fanfiction of fanfiction. Like, fans basically created that ship and even their characters out of next to nothing, and made something so compelling that it’s now the fandom’s most popular ship on ao3! That is so cool! As someone who doesn’t care about the DBH canon like, at all, and is way more into the fans’ creations and creativity, I have a deep appreciation for reed900 shippers even if I don’t subscribe to their newsletter. 

I do agree that it’s very similar to the hankcon dynamic, which, who can blame them? It’s a great dynamic. And I don’t begrudge anyone for not wanting to ship Hank and Connor. But when it comes to people who ship reed900 but actively hate hankcon, those who call hankcon disgusting and cry about having to see it while never seeming to take any actual steps to avoid it? I dunno, I smell ageism in their hearts, and to them I say—old people are hot, and it’s not our fault if you have bad taste in men 😌

sun/eclipse - 10/10 - there is soooo much flexibility with this ship istg. probably why i always come back to it lol. it can be toxic, abusive, fluffy, enemies to lovers, fix-it, etc. *slaps suneclipse* you can fit so many dynamics in this bad boy

sun/solar - 10/10 - its on equal footing with sun/eclipse especially bc its the first ship i had in this fandom (tho i was very shy </3) cuz its just. ITS SO GOOD! its wonderful hurt/comfort and helping each other heal from the past they had with different versions of the other while also acknowledging that they arent the same and thats what makes them Better

Horikoshi failing to tie up that one last loose end for Uraraka’s character arc (not closing off her feelings) is the problem.

Again, I ship IzuOcha. Still do, because I’m stubborn. Would I have liked for them to end up together, even if it was only a somewhat blatant implication that could be handwaved? Obviously. But you know what? Maybe I would be upset if the story went out of its way to explicitly de-confirm any chance of Midoriya and Uraraka being a romantic pairing, but I’d at least respect it and understand it a lot more if the story let Midoriya and Uraraka actually talk about this, or at the very least SHOWED US them talking about this. I’d understand if Uraraka completed her character arc by having a heart to heart with Midoriya and telling him that her feelings have changed, her priorities have changed, and Midoriya understands and they remain good friends. Let’s be real, romance isn’t Horikoshi’s strong suit, despite his many attempts to leave romantic implications throughout the series. I’d completely understand if he just had Midoriya and Uraraka talk and they didn’t end up together, because at least then it still provides both of their characters with closure.

But no, that’s too simple. Let’s just “leave it up to interpretation,” because it clearly wasn’t that important, right?

Well, as many people on the internet have already brought up, if it wasn’t so important, why did you spend so much time putting emphasis on it? Why did you have Uraraka, up until the FINAL WAR, have her crush on Midoriya be a crucial part of her character (it wasn’t her only character trait, mind you, but it was still important)? Why did the penultimate chapter have the class come to comfort Uraraka and tell her that they can talk to her… and then come the next chapter, Uraraka apparently hasn’t done anything regarding her supposed crush on Midoriya? For literal YEARS!?

…see, this isn’t even a shipping problem anymore. This is a character problem.

Horikoshi, for whatever reason, chose not to include a romance for the main character and his supposed love interest. And again, that’s fine, not every story needs to be a romance. Two problems with it here though (well, one problem and an observation):

1) Choosing to not at least address the romantic subplot with a “I think we’re better off as friends” encounter, thus actually concluding the subplot and providing a sense of closure, not only leaves the result feeling underwhelming and frustrating, but also actively damages Uraraka’s character arc. We can have her address the problem that caused people like Toga to exist, but heaven forbid she talks about romance with Midoriya.

2) Despite his supposed aversion to romance, Horikoshi still went out of his way to give Gentle and La Brava wedding rings… he’s willing to establish a side romantic pairing without bringing too much attention to it, but he can’t be bothered to do something similar for the arguable MAIN pairing? It’s the “Togata has special clothes so he doesn’t end up buck naked, but Hagakure’s still gotta go commando” debacle again…

I’ma go ahead and wrap this up ‘cause I don’t wanna keep y’all much longer, but like… being optimistic, this ending was… functional. I’ve got my problems with it, obviously, I don’t think it was BAD bad… but it certainly wasn’t good. It works. Barely. And it’s ‘cause of stuff like this.

Midoriya and Uraraka didn’t need to end up together, truly. All Horikoshi had to do was put the smallest amount of effort and give us something of substance, something with closure. Instead, we got what we got.

I get that he was exhausted and wanted the manga to be over… but that excuse only holds up for so long.

oofda Severance went from what's gotta be the best episode in the series-- visually, emotionally, character drive, general plot development, etc.-- to probably the weakest. Dgmw, I absolutely adore Patricia Arquette's performance as this sad off-putting woman and was eager for a Cobel check-in, but back-to-back bottleneck episodes leading up the finale was a TERRIBLE pacing choice, just completely missing the mark in a season that has already been plagued with pacing issues-- I'm lookin' at you, beloved by many but meh to me bc I have never been a melly shipper & thought it was a frustrating cut-away from the previous episode's dramatic final moment, Woe's Hollow-- & did not really provide much new information/plot momentum to make up for it-- yeah yeah Cobel lifelong Kier cultist, child labor & mommy issues, groomed & exploited scientific prowess, Lumon ruining anachronistic ether-huffing towns economically & spiritually; didn't really dig deeper or meaningfully build on anything we already know of in a away that needed to be a full break-away episode for, imo. Coulda & shoulda been the b-plot to a Milchick's continued spirit breaking/background to Ms. Huang (which would have very much thematically tied together to each!) -focused episode. And considering how short the episode is compared to the rest, I kind of suspect it might have began production that way but it was changed for some reason further along, but that's purely vibes based speculation.

These pacing issues paired with the knowledge that there are only nine episodes a season in this silly era of television, I am increasingly nervous about the finale, particularly considering ms dipshit mama bear super sibling withOUT a background in neuroscience who thinks she knows better than the scientist who was already digging around inside his noggin Devon followed through and reached Cobel 🤦‍♂️ like, clearly there are cracks in Cobel's Kier worship/Lumon militancy-- I think she has an ego that 1) cannot forgive how tossed away she was, especially with the newest detail of her being the overlooked inventor of the severance technology, & 2) despite the indoctrination, she has enough self-preservation to bridge the cognitive dissonance that rationalizes Lumon's abuses now that it's HER that might get locked away in the mind wipe torture basement-- but you're watching a different show in a different universe if you think we've gotten any evidence to strongly indicate that she is actually trustworthy. As the inventor of the chip she could be the perfect person to help Mark with the final reintegration steps... or, as I suspect will be more along the lines of what will happen, she could activate any of the other "modes" that have so far been only eluded to/cause further brain damage/betray mark & ragbhari to leverage herself into a better position with lumon/whatever will benefit her in her quest for... well, besides survival & credit for her invention, I really can't say for sure what her motivations currently are, but legitimate compassion & concern for Mark/the innies certainly are not among them.

Idk, just overall I think this season has put its hands in too many plot pies, especially now that the other outies have been given more character development time, a choice I've liked overall but that has not been 😏 integrated 😏 well with the rest of the story, largely because (forgive my repeating myself) of the pacing/9 episode limit-- we've gotten the central Mark reintegration plot, then we have melly romance b-plot, dylan emotional affair with his own wife c-plot, outie irv + his relationship to the testing floor & whatever the fuck is going on with burt/his husband d & e-plot, milchick being racially micro-aggressed f-plot, ms huang & the spectre of child labor g-plot, nasty lady helena eagan & her sinister side swept blunt bang h-plot, whatever cobel's deal is i-plot, the general overarching What Evil Mysterious Schemes is Lumon Up To j to whatever plot, and finally, the most pressing plot point to me that has been frustratingly shelved until episode 7, What's Happening to Gemma plot. I don't expect nor want wrapped packages with bows, but satisfying narratives involve give and take, and I simply don't have much confidence in the real estate provided by the 49 remaining minutes of the season that we'll get much of anywhere (except mad over what bad things are likely about to happen to Gemma, that is one thing I have begrudging confidence in 😔)

Right?? I don’t get it fr. Shipping Light with Misa specifically is like.. LMFAO I CANTTTT he literally hates her so much but it isn’t even that he hates her, he actively avoids all sorts of intimacy with her and when he Does do something, he only does so to continue using her as a pawn. I mean, the only reason he even kept her alive was bc he didn’t have a choice in the first place bc of Rem. And like, his avoidance and internal rejection of her and other women isn’t even a “Kira” thing, bc he still did so when he was memoryless and we also know he avoided dating girls pre death note/Kira persona bc he said he was “waiting until college” etc. So there’s a clear canonical pattern of Light avoiding romantic relationships with women. Which on its own would be like ok whatever, but at the same time there is a clear pattern of an active interest in male characters even when they are equal to the female characters such as Takada vs Mikami. There’s also the fact he shows no discomfort whenever L touches him specifically during Yotsuba arc, and also the fact that in the manga he asked one of his friends to send him a holiday card to which his friend replied “I only send them to girls” which is essentially stating this is a romantic gesture and Light did just ask for it.

I mean, I could go on and on but there is quite a lot of gay coding going on in the manga and then of course in the anime and subsequent DN adaptations (minus the Netflix movie that we shall pretend doesn’t exist)

I don’t rlly get the hatred toward Lawlight tbh? It’s pretty weird, because their relationship is like… 90% of the appeal of Death Note imo. But to each their own I suppose. Personally, I just think there is a lot of canonical justification and intentional gay coding/subtext to warrant it.

If Ohba didn’t want us to ship lawlight then perhaps they shouldn’t have written them to be some sort of fucked up soulmate pair who complete each other and perhaps they shouldn’t have make jokes hinting at L and Light having a homosexual undertone to their relationship and PERHAPS they shouldn’t have had an entire story arc where L literally handcuffs himself to Light for 100 days straight and where they share an UNMONITORED room…. And yeah I know about the kataang stuff. It’s weird for me too. See Lawlight is my OTP hands down. Kataang is a strong second contender. I love both pairings about the same but in very different ways. It’s funny because they’re very drastically different pairings of course, but that also is the stories themselves and the narratives.

Kataang is about the most wholesome ship you could ship meanwhile Lawlight is inherently fucked up butttttttttt Death Note itself is a fairly mature story dealing with inherently fucked up subject matter and characters so there’s rlly no avoiding that.

I don’t rlly care what someone thinks of my ship preferences, the only thing that annoys me is antis who misrepresent canon like with Kataang or antis with Lawlight who basically say we’re bad ppl for shipping it. Like as if Lawlight isn’t a huge ship in anime/manga lol. Truly one of the forefathers of toxic yaoi 🤣

As for who I ship Zuko with: I do ship Maiko though I’ll say I’m not hugely invested in the pairing. I don’t have much to say on it other than I enjoy their scenes in the show and I think they are a nice couple. I don’t care for Zuko and Sokka, I think it’s kind of in that same category as zvtara and I don’t care for that ship at all.

I actually ship Zuko with Aang lol. Like Zuko and Aang when they’re older, I can get behind zukaang 100% in part because they are like that kindred spirit thing similar to lawlight to me. I really enjoy that aspect of their relationship and I again think canonically, zukaang would be plausible if it weren’t for maiko and kataang.

About the "nice to me" romance trope ask. That trope is like the bare bones, bottom of the barrel kind of stuff. "They treated me with basic human kindness" is not the epitome of romance. Its where things are supposed to start. The ground floor where all the other interactions and tropey moments kick off from. But if that's all the relationship has, that's not a very good or even compelling relationship. "They were nice to me." Your grandma's nice to you. The clerk you see every other day at the convenience store where you get your coffee is nice to you.

An end game, this is the one for me, my love, romance needs more than the sole trait of "they were nice."

Yeah, I totally agree with you. The worst part would be, definitely, that the whole "you are my hero" has never even be a romantic trope for BNHA -and for Izuku in particular, thats probably the least thing in his mind when talking about heroes-. I want to clarify something many had mixed up when that dropped back then: bkdks saw it as a romantic line for them bc it was a way to convey respect and closeness while being two male characters in a shonen manga. This was expected bc that would be okay and allowed for them in this context, and would represent how far they have gone from their middle school days -to be each other's heroes-; just like the hero duo isnt romantic on its own, it was more about ppl wanting to see their closeness while interpreting it as romantic and using it for fan fiction and fandom activities.

Many of the other shippers reacted smug, calling bkdks hypocrites for thinking now that it was used for her that it was not romantic anymore, but here's the thing: they dont need a hero-romantic coded thing bc they are a straight ship. They can and usually have to be explicit in some way, and considering their theme about questioning what heroes are and who saves other heroes, this loses all the possible romantic interpretations. Just like bkdk would be denied of romantic subtext -bc it wasn't expected to be romantic in canon, but a bond both could share that could serve as a ship moment-, for the hero nerd deku to consider you his hero doesnt seem to come from a romantic love he has for her, as he also calls All Might his hero -and she does have some parallels with him both visually and in some themes- and he already denied those feelings as that type of love.

This becomes even weaker when its revealed in 431 how they dont really talk to each other anymore, and their last nice moment together was in high school, as it show us how this wasn't meant to be interpreted as his romantic confession -he just noticed 8 years later he wants to talk to her more, if he was aware of any love I think he would have acted differently years ago-.

Idk, its just like they are constantly trying to avoid to confirm this ship while also having to make them have scenes together -for 429 ppl were so sure they were going to confess and ochako was hurt bc she didn't confess to him, and turns out she was crying for Himiko and feeling like she is not a hero. Nobody ends up confessing feelings. For 430 ppl claimed they were having a date in the snow bc of a small panel, and that her little collar thing was his mask, turns out 431 tell us they dont talk to each other and want to reconnect after years, that they lost their closeness and now feel awkward about each other, even insecure. For the cliff scene so many said he was going to confess his love, turns out they talk about Himiko and Shigaraki, without paying attention to their relationship. Hell, ppl thought she was going to come down from the helicopter and save deku in the final chapter of the war, making a reference to the fall scene Horikoshi draw picturing in mind what he would do "if he ever decided to develop them" (and he didnt lol I wonder why). Over and over again, we get 0 confirmation about it and no effort to make Ochako confess to him, so it becomes frustrating if we are supposed to keep waiting until they decide to canonize it.

But the bar is in hell, so if they added stuff about them going for a first date now nobody would be surprised -but to think the most romantic thing of it all is not even the official content, but the fanart one assistant/ex assistant made which includes ghost Himiko also holding Ochako's hand, Katsuki being all annoyed/jealous? about them, and Shouto with his noodles is really weird-.

Now that I think about it, its actually really, really sad, to think they became canon with an extra chapter after finishing the series which show us them not being close anymore. They arent comfortable with each other like they used to, and this isnt my own interpretation, is all over the text: Ochako not being able to talk to him in the first place (she isnt thinking about confessing anything, just talk to him about the dreams she had and wanting to talk more now that they see each other more often), Izuku being unsure about her wanting to reconnect, them being all shy about the sudden closeness... Sure shippers can see it as cute and I wont take that from them, but its true they are awkward now. They just... arent close anymore, and thats a suspicious decision for a team which supposedly wants to make them canon with 431. At first glance sure, it can pass as such, but knowing who these characters are, their history, etc... Yeah, talking from now on can be a romantic indirect confession, with shoujo bubbles and a clear focus on what he wants, but we are talking about oblivious Deku who doesnt notice indirectness as romantic, rather than big clear gestures. Yeah, the girl yearning for the guy and waiting for him to do the first move is a classic, but this is Ochako, who everyone agreed on "had" to be the one to confess -she wasn't looking for that with him, but to discuss the dreams and to talk more; it felt more like her feeling disappointed they haven't tried to talk more when they basically work together-.

I like my reading of 431 as an awkward depiction of adults reconnecting friendship after years of no talking, but I agree it was made to look romantic, rather than being actually romantic. Its a weird choice, but makes more sense to me than to think this is a canonization and a relationship the team and author wanted to develop in a romantic way.

I shouldn't get annoyed by it but I can't help but get annoyed by the obvious favoritsm going on in the Submas fandom...

I dunno its frustrating to see a pair of twins constantly being put up like that and pit against each other when their true strength is in them being close and together....

It makes me loose my interest because its the big names doing the favoritsm and it feels like everyone is following their lead.

I'm usually someone who doesn't complain much about things going on in fandom (I thankfully managed to avoid the gross stuff so far, thanks to the block button where everything that makes me uncomfortable or doesn't spark interest gets the boot.) But I feel the more I stay silent the more upset I get.

It's not only the favoritsm that annoys me but also the deconstruction of the character. Its basically just a skinsuit for someone's OC and that ticks me off so much.

It ticks me off when media does it with established characters and it ticks me off when some alphabet freaks do it in my fandom.

The japanese fandom is such a breath of fresh air. They do diverge a lot too but it doesn't feel like OC material... and at the core the twins are still themselves.

Honestly this is also a reason I don't mind shippers. I don't like the ship in of itself but I do appreciate that they're still themselves for the most part. Just with some kinks and fetishes shoved in. (some more alright then others... a lot of them are... ewwwwww)

But yeah I hope it's okay to vent out a little here. I'm not someone actively in the fandom more a silent fan from the sidelines but it just bothers me how the fandom devolved over time into that hive of scum and villany it is now.

I'm not sure if I understand 100% what you are saying, but it might be because I don't know who the popular artists are anymore. Seems like most of them have lost interest and are being replaced by new people with recent fixations. Even looking at the tags with another account that everybody hasn't blocked, I'm still not seeing the same people I saw when PLA was at the height of popularity.

Even the Volo tag is lagging. Masters just did an event with him in it, and the tags didn't even blow up. I didn't see any of that clique of people who badmouthed me on Discord over what I said about trans people. This is why Japanese artists are the best. They haven't slowed down on content. I'm still seeing regular art of almost everything I'm into.

Maybe you're talking about fans who post one and not the other? In some context that works -such as PLA fans where Ingo is there with no Emmet- but a lot of fans also treat Emmet as a self-insert. I see that a lot....like he's austistic LIKE ME and I want to make him this stand-up guy. Am I the only one who has ever written fan fics where Emmet beats Volo at something and is a total douche about it? -Like he does end-zone dances and is all like IN YOUR FACE!! (.....because in the very first games, he'd taunt you if you lost against him). People take them both too seriously sometimes.

At least I can tone out all that other stuff and still find the sweet angst with the Japanese artists.

Side note: I hear ya about deconstructing a character and making it about the alphabet sexual nonsense. Someone did that recently on a Geten RP blog on Twitter. They were all like, "This Geten is asexual agender aromantic, has sharp teeth, eats human flesh and raw meat.."

1.) Hey everyone, my name is Klemmie! I am nonbinary & my pronouns are they/them or she/her, I prefer they/them though! I am of age at 29 years old and have been RPing since about 2010, over a whole decade! Due to my age there might be NSFW on this blog at times but it will always be under a read more and tagged. On this subject, most muses are of age or have a verse where they are, please be aware of this and all main verse ages for my muses are on their bios on the character page.

2.) I am working a job which I usually only have a couple days off in the week and most evenings free. However activity and replies may be slow or low due to the nature of this being a multi-muse blog and my energy levels on any day. I will do my best to pop in at least once or twice a week with the intentions of queuing up any replies that I owe and once in a blue moon do I reply quickly and without queuing. But just to make everyone aware that this is how this blog operates!

3.) I am good with a mix of jumping into things without a plot; such as memes, open starters, random things are good. But sometimes I prefer plotting, even if only a little bit, especially when it comes to a pre-established relationship that isn’t the canon between two characters; this includes children of muses. I am okay with writing with said muses but I would like to have a bit of plotting to this as my version of the muse or muses as parents in question is not the one canon to yours as such, I need to make sure I know whats going on or all your gonna get from my muse is either ’ I have no kids ’ or i dont believe you, so i tend to avoid that if no prior communication has happened before hand! I do also like screaming about plots that both parties might want to do and discuss between us to work out a possible thread idea?

4.) This blog is multi-fandom, verse and ship. Meaning all threads even if tagged as in the same verse for a muse are their own story and thread between our muses, this includes for relationships, unless its a story that has been discussed and plotted between all involved.

We are also Crossover-friendly here! I love mashing up fandoms and seeing what happens!

5.) As stated in my first ruling, NSFW themes and topics may be present, if I feel that the topic, even if it’s gore and not sexual nsfw, is too heavy or unsafe to just have out on display I will always put it under a read more and tagged the triggers like; tw;__

6.) Continuing with the point above, I will not tolerate certain things like underage sexual content or abuse or any nsfw content with minors - this goes for muns & muses and hanging, if you are ever unsure of anything please ask me. 9.) I’m more into story driven threads, ones that develop my muses and yours hopefully, ones that develop a chemistry and relationship between them. These are the kinds of threads I prefer.

11.) For shipping I am a shipper of chemistry, I am here for the development. But if you feel like our muses are beginning to develop something, please message me and we can talk. When sending in an ask, please specify a muse, one thing on my anxiety is when I get an ask without some specifying, sometimes I will throw someone randomly if I can but if not I get anxious about it, so unless you state one or that its for any muse I will not answer it, unless I know you & muse or muses well enough to know who it’s from or I have come and asked you to clear up who it was for.

14.) OOC =/= IC. I will not tone down my muses for anyone, but I don’t agree with their morals and choices all the time. OOC is not the same as IC.

15.) I have a habit of forgetting to reply to threads, if it’s been more than a week since I have replied, give me a poke. I may have forgotten or lost muse, this doesn’t mean we can start more threads and get back to it.

What made you ship it? upon his introduction, makoto flashes his whole naked dick balls and ass to yuma while stepping out of the hot tub and then asks to be friends. i feel like it was just a given at that point (jkjk the actual reason is like... all of chapter 5 basically, especially its finale)

What are your favorite things about the ship? honestly it's the dichotomy. it's just how similar and simultaneously different they are. it's the fact that both of them know each other more than anyone else, and it leads to some very good interactions in fanon

Is there an unpopular opinion you have on the ship? uhhh hm. within the shippers? no. there's some "who tops" disagreement that i dont care about because i like them either way. but for the fandom as a whole i cannot stand the sibling headcanon if im being honest. it's like okay but i tend to stray away from art/fic depicting them as siblings because it's not my cup of tea. unless it's a meme or joke. blowjob brothers my beloved.

What would have made you like it? to avoid just saying "slamming yuma in there" i'd probably have to say... them having more canon interactions? of the NDA, they have the least amount of interactions with each other. so it's just kinda... i have nothing to go off of for them. it's cute in theory, but i have the most fun when im playing around with canon for my ships and such, which just means that having less canon to work with doesn't get me invested enough. having too much canon (or canon that annoys me) does the same, tho, which is why idc about kokowendy 😭 it's a hard balance to strike.

Despite not shipping it, do you have anything positive to say about it? i love both fubuki and vivia a lot, and i think the ship is really cute! aesthetically they really work, and i can see fubuki being the sunshine to vivia's moonlight. good taste 👍

Hello! And welcome to my lil RP blog! I have recently found myself with a muse for Regretevator and interest in the lore. Of course, this naturally means looking for people to RP with! So I feel it is only natural to give yall a bit of info both about myself and the muse.

I am still new to Regretevator as a series, so it is possible I may not be the best with all the info and lore.

I LOVE to talk headcanons and discuss RP plots. Part of the fun in RP is actually brainstorming!

I am a massive fan of angst and/or fluff in a RP, and I am very prone to traumatizing my OCs for the plot™.

I have anxiety and autism. I can typically redirect my overthinking towards thoughts about the game, OCs or lore stuff. However, this is not always the case, and as a result I may not always be able to handle whatever fears are bothering me in that moment.

My interests outside of Regretevator are art, music, cool rocks, Super Mario Bros, and Touhou.

Species: He's a metal person. Idk what to call them.

Occupation: Blacksmith/miner.

Height: 8 feet, 5 inches[2.6 meters, roughly]

Personality

Gavin is a fairly stoic person to those who first meet him. He doesn't outwardly express emotion in the ways people typically expect, as his facial expression and tone of voice do not change. Gavin is not even necessarily aware that he has emotions. If he does have any feelings that he cannot brush off or avoid acknowledging, he will likely bury himself in his work to avoid them.

He is also obsessed with the idea of productivity and efficiency. He wants to be as efficient as humanly possible with his work. This attitude also applies to his interactions, resulting in a fairly blunt manner of speaking. His bluntness is not an attempt to be rude, he simply views it as the most efficient manner of getting a message across. He will also not attempt to be actively unkind towards somebody, as he considers it to be a waste of everyone's time, including his own. However, if he notices something is wrong, he is the first to attempt to communicate it to you. [E.G. "Your stand is covered in rust. This may inhibit its mobility and the ease of insertion or removal. I offer rust-removal services at my forge if you wish to resolve this." Or "Your tools do not appear to be in optimal condition. I am eager to restore them to their original condition, if permitted."] He generally considers helping people to sort of "automatically" be productive, and thus works towards that goal whenever he can.

As a result of these two traits, he rarely socializes with people outside of work purposes. He near-exclusively communicates with people specifically for discussing commissions or making a sale.

Backstory

Gavin comes from a long line of metallic people who were also blacksmiths. Everyone in his family also refused to acknowledge their feelings, falsely believing their species to just not experience emotion. As a result, Gavin picked up on this, too.

Even in death, these people do not have funerals that we may typically expect. Rather, they believe in not letting anything go to waste, including the remains of the deceased. As a result, deceased loved ones are often melted down and smelted into something new(this can be smelting them into tools or smelting them into a new member of the species). This is considered to be a form of "rebirth" essentially, so they may still benefit their families and peers, even if they aren't around anymore.

It is unknown how Gavin specifically ended up on the Regretevator. However, it wouldn't be long before he found an empty floor to take residence in[likely one of the scrapped floors], eventually transforming it into his own foundry.

Now, he makes money by creating weapons, tools, cooking equipment, pretty much anything that he feels can assist people with their time on the elevator or in their personal lives.

Little fun facts

The working hours for Gavin's forge are between 8AM and 8PM from Monday to Saturday.

On Sundays, the forge is closed and he goes to gather materials from the mine floors(or collect scraps of broken elevators from the elevator shaft)

Gavin dislikes flood levels, as they cause his body to rust if he spends too much time in the water.

Surface level rust is harmless to Gavin, and often takes on a form that resembles body hair. However, if that rust starts to penetrate any deeper, it can affect his mobility or make him feel sick.

He "shaves" with an angle grinder.

He is fairly strong, partially because of the amount of activity his work requires, and partially because he is made of pure steel.

Since his body conducts heat, he often works metals with his bare hands. This leaves a side effect of his hands literally being glowing red-hot afterwards. He must quench them in liquid if he needs to make physical contact with something that could be burned by these temperatures.

Despite his name, Gavin enjoys metals in general, not just steel. However, his favorite is bismuth.

He also has respect for woodworking, "An axe without a wood is left with no handle, therefore it cannot be swung with significant force. An axe without metal is just a stick with no cutting edge, and cannot efficiently fell a tree."

Gavin finds concrete to be inefficient. He thinks it's brittle and you need large quantities of it to accomplish anything. You should have just smelted the stones or used them as an abrasive to sand down metal or wood.

Gavin doesn't know much about self-defense, however, it is not advised to punch him.

He bathes in molten rock[good way to kill germs]

Gavin does know how to braid! He typically does it when producing wires or steel cables(his hair is a steel cable btw). However, he can do it with hair too.

Where are his parents? Smelted into the tools he uses in his forge(the anvil, his pickaxe for gathering material, etc). So they are technically still helping him.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST: the Mod of this blog ships Gavin and Mannequin_Mark[let this man be happy please /silly]. A joke name for this ship is Galvanized Square Steel x Eco Friendly Wood Veneer. Their relationship isn't the healthiest at first due to their own problems affecting stuff, but they do work things out and eventually become fully healthy.

He is a man with dark Grey, metallic skin and brown eyes. He wears a soot-stained, brown apron, shorts(unseen under apron), and steel-toed boots.
