I find it fascinating how I can learn so much about myself and yet know so little. For the longest time being swayed to believe I was merely the product of my parents and their problems, to later discover I had my own problems, and then to subsequently realize that I am the problem. The age old adage of I am my own worst enemy and critic, and no matter where you run, you just end up running into yourself. I've spent my lifetime thus far as a doormat because other people and their happiness came first, I wanted others to like me, love me, and I was willing to go to any lengths in order for that to happen, yet it only ended up separating me from finding my own happiness, how I could find my own ways to make me happy. Well, now here I am on another side of my story where I have the opportunity and knowledge to begin making myself a better and brighter person, only to find setbacks in feeling guilty and shame for disregarding others' needs. I wasn't raised with confidence or self-esteem, I was given a voice and told to keep it quiet. How odd that I have found one yet continue to remain hushed and gentle, only for my emotions to bubble over and explode into screaming and rage when I can't keep them down or hide them any longer. The strangest part is... I'm so sad. I'm so sad over the death of a former sense of self, that reassuring feeling that that person got me to where I am today and survived through all of it, the torture coming from both outside and in. It's disheartening knowing I'm this completely whole ass new person who's walking around and interacting like some adult infant because this life on the other side is now so brand new, as I waddle around and try to taste and sense and feel things in such a brand new way. And I can feel that old part of me looking through in some spiritual looking glass afraid for when I stumble, and fearfully saying no no no- don't do that, you'll hurt yourself! No no no- you can't do that, it's not for you! I have to show that part of myself the love it deserves, but I also have to be strong for the person I've become today, but I keep on fucking everything up. I know that's fine, and I know that's normal, but why does it feel so bad? Maybe it feels bad because I haven't quite figured out yet that making other people happy does make me happy, but I have to do it in my own way that benefits the new me, the new baby adult version of me. I'm ranting and rambling at this point, the best part being I feel I can do this here because it's shouting into the void. Still, maybe just maybe some one can relate, if they can decipher my wingding words. All in all, I've suffered too much to continue suffering by my own hand, and there are people in this world that I love so much that I'd be willing to do anything for them and want to do just that- which means if I have that love for them, then within is the capacity to love myself so much that I'd be willing to do anything for me.

listen. i know it's not 2014 anymore and i know it's just a throwaway line and that the russo brothers didnt intend for marvel action blockbuster captain america the winter soldier to become the tragic gay love story that never was but man. having steve say "it's kind of hard to find someone with shared life experience" in a conversation about romantic relationships right before the bucky reveal is so cruel. it's not just about steve and bucky obviously having the shared experience of being "out of time," it's the fact that they've both been stripped of their humanity in opposite directions. steve is a legend, he is an american hero and a national icon before he is a human being the same way that bucky is a weapon and a killing machine before he is a human being. steve knows that anyone who falls in love with him in the 21st century fell in love with captain america first, and that's just not him. but then the one person who knew him first and knew him best and loved him (not captain america, that little guy from brooklyn) so much he died for it is alive, impossibly. and it's a miracle because he's back and it's horrific because he's back under the worst possible circumstances. but to steve, the winter soldier is worth tearing the world apart for because he's always been bucky first. they find each other and suddenly they're human again. and maybe, despite it all, being "out of time" becomes a blessing, because in this century they'd finally be allowed to love each other the way they've always wanted to. like real people do.
like. no. the captain america trilogy isn't about two queer men traumatized and alienated by war and modern life rediscovering and reclaiming their humanity through their love for each other. but. i mean. it couldve been

paramount and spyglass are trying so hard right now to save face because jenna ortega rightfully left the scream franchise after they fired melissa for supprting palestine. nobody is dumb enough to believe the excuse that it’s a scheduling conflict hours after rumors she was trying to get out of her contract cause she was pissed. i’m very thankful that jenna is risking her career and using her position to do the right thing. she’s been outspoken about palestine for years now. i hope this begins a trend of zionist losing money for their support and complacency with an active genocide

Several weeks ago one of my coworkers called me over into her cubicle and gave me a very unexpected gift. Her mother passed away recently, and she'd been packing stuff up at her condo to give to relatives and sell, so the home could be sold. The mother was an avid knitter and crocheter, and when my coworker came upon her stash of equipment, she told me, she "immediately thought of me as someone who might get some use out of it."
So, I have inherited a varied collection of knitting needles and crochet hooks, cable needles, sewing needles, and, best of all, now-out-of-print pattern books, mostly for blankets, because that was what this lady loved to make most. Plus, I also have a bunch of gauge swatches she made, pinned to little bits of card covered in perfect schoolteacher handwriting setting out the patterns they were made to test.
And also...
My coworker brought another bag, full of yarn and...knitted blanket squares.
Her mother's last started project, before she got too sick to continue.
And she asked if there was anything I could do with it.
It turned out, there are twelve completed squares, and I quickly located the pattern book they are from amid those given to me. It's a book of 60 patterns, meant to be put together however the maker wishes into blankets of 20 squares. I figured out which of the numbered patterns were already made, and selected eight more that I thought might go well with them.
So now!
I am working on completing!
My coworker's mother's last knitting project!
And I really am feeling very good about doing it.

part 2 of Zoro in WCI
01 02 03 04 05 06
I tried to write something to sum up my thoughts on this, but then it got longer and longer and tbh I'm itching to write a fic set in this AU djjdkf I think I could develop on their inner feelings more than in the comic form
Before posting the first part I didn't realize people had such strong opinions on how this would play out lmaooo
imo, of course Zoro wants to fight Sanji, not with actual intent to harm (they threaten each other on the daily, come on), but because that's how they are together, how they communicate. He respects Luffy's decisions and their goal here, which is to learn what's really going on with Sanji, but he's gonna be pissy about it all he wants. They both have so many intense and conflicted feelings about this and neither has any idea how to resolve them. So they fight.
ofc yall are free to headcanon this interaction any other way you want <333
