Guys I think it's time to admit it. Shauna's a villain.

Genuinely I think so much of the fandom discourse could be helped by admitting this. You can find villains hot, you can find villains scary, villains can piss you off, but I haven't seen anyone arguing that she's not a bad person. She's a bully, she's manipulative, she's selfish, she hates everyone but herself, she's miserable to be around, she traded in her tragically fridged wife for a bootlicking henchman. All of these are BEAUTIFUL villain qualities.

i don't talk a lot about jackie but idk i do read her as sapphic in the show, maybe even somewhere on the ace spectrum but still leaning sapphic.

and one reading i rarely see wrt the way she comes in hot with natalie and slut-shames her and pursues travis is that i think jackie is jealous of nat. like, i think jackie is specifically jealous of nat for the way nat *does* feel something toward men and jackie doesn't.

now don't get me wrong, i also hc nat as bi, but i think she's genuinely into men when she's with them & from the way the yellowjackets address it, nat appears to have had more sexual experience than most girls on the team. clearly the yjs know about it and are talking about it.

and idk there's something to the way that jackie, a virgin by choice (i mean she had every opportunity), is keeping tabs on not just nat's sex life but also shauna's. like i just get this picture that jackie can't quite understand what's going on with her, why she doesn't get excited about jeff, and she sees someone like nat getting into travis, and she's just kind of pissed bc why is it so much less complicated for other people? (the scene where nat and mari are looking at travis & jackie is squinting like she *does not* get it really demonstrates this dynamic, i think.)

and then that's probably what makes it hurt so much when shauna reveals she's pregnant too bc now it's clear that shauna *likes* guys; i mean it seems this way to jackie. shauna has willingly overcome this hurdle that jackie seems so put off by. she does not want to have sex with a man. but the fact of shauna leaving her behind pushing jackie to pursue travis, to just get this over with? like, that girl was gay and she didn't know it and she didn't have the words to explain it. she died without coming to a full realization that she wasn't broken for wanting something else.
