🎀30 Day Glow Up Challenge 🎀 - day one

♡ Mindset : I’ve been reading “The Power Of One More” and honestly it is a life changing book I definitely recommend. The author did a interview with Jay Shetty and he immediately got me I found his book the same day lol. In the first chapter he speaks about how you have to let go of your past identity to get to who you truly want to be no amount of skills you learn and book you read will help if you don’t change your identity. In this 30 day glow up challenge I am working on the things I want to change to get closer to my higher self. I haven’t journaled in a long time and today I picked up my journal and journaled 3 things I’m grateful for. I forgot to say my affirmations sadly<333

♡ Health : I didn’t get to meal prep so I went to key foods and picked up lunch I kept it on track with my meal . Im so dedicated to getting to my best self before summer I want this body to be teaaaa lol. I don’t workout on Mondays and Fridays but I did a HIIT workout at home after work I felt so good after.

♡ Self Care : I applied my morning skin care products, I was so lazyyy to do my nightly skin care but I did it anyway which I’m proud of and I’ve been doing research on hydrafacials I def plan on getting one soon. I’ve also been interested in red light therapy for my skin as well. I’ll update you girliessss<333

♡ Experience : I’ve been working on some of my hobbies and I’ve been growing new friendships I’ve met a lot of really nice girls especially on campus and becoming social was apart of my goals this semester and I’ve been putting myself out there.

Overall today was super good very relaxing and the weather was amazing which added to the mood I posted day one of the challenge but these posts will be weekly instead of daily because of my schedule<3333

pretty self-explenatory and super short headcanons because i felt like writing something about lara ♡ dont take this too seriously, im just doing it for fun

lara really does post once in a blue moon. usually she wouldn’t care about people knowing anything about her private life or the things she does, but sometimes she will post pictures of the places she has seen during her travels. most of her instagram is just places she has been to with maybe one or two special occasions. you are in some of them too! her favourite is the one she took during your travel in france while visiting monet's house

she posted a picture of you in your anniversary. even if realistically its just a photo and a caption, it was kinda important for her. it was you two in fancy outfits in the cinema hall in front of the movie poster. you might or might not have suggested it so you could have matching anniversary posts, but the result is adorable indeed

she doesnt follow many people. mostly news channels, publishing houses, friends and that one band she adores with her whole heart. definitely does repost the band tour dates on her stories even if she herself is too busy to actually go to their concerts, so keep them in mind in case you need to get her a gift.

lara wouldn’t even have a bio if it werent for you, to be honest. you two (just you, really) decided to just write where she is from and what she does for a living. she is a simple girl who doesnt even care about those things that much, but you wanted to do it and she let you.

Hi, I've been wondering for the photography AU what general time period it's set in, what type of camera(s) does Koby use (it looks like a canon to me but seems to make polaroids, at least that's the surface level observation I can make from my extremely limited knowledge on cameras), what type of photography he personally enjoys and the type he usually does for work (if he does it as his profession too). What does Koby aim to capture with his images, the casual mundane life of an average person, an unreal, etheral sight in a place the average person can't go, Luffy's luffiness, etc? Also what's the general budget Koby has towards camera equipment (doesn't need to be that exact, just a general "he's broke" or "He spends all his money on lenses" would suffice)? My questions are kinda vague here because I'm going to research more about photography later. - koby uses sony cameras primarily but yes he does have a few canons (nikon confuses him)

- he has a seperate polaroid camera!!! he usually prints digitally from sd though

- for type of photography, he started with a passion for ocean and landscape photography, mostly beaches and any scene with water in focus. he also has an interest in portraiture but his love for portraiture only comes to play when he meets luffy. cheese cheese cheeeesyyyy because luffy smiles and hes IMMEDIATELY enamoured. anyway, he starts to study and practice portraiture in depth because of the pretty boy he met in maths class and eventually works up the courage to ask him to model for him. they get super close and eventually start dating; luffy likes how dedicated koby is to his work and how cute he is when he blushes.

-SORDY got carried away with the sappy lovey stuff. koby sells his landscape/wildlife photography at local stores as a side hustle thing haha. but he doesnt really do it professionally, he much prefers to keep it as a hobby / simple income.

- koby aims to capture the beauty of colour! he loves vibrancy when shooting with a softbox or some other source of light he will usually use something to change the hue rather than plain old bw on a simple white bg

- following on he HATES shooting black and white photos unless theyre negatives because idk i think he would think it looks cool. what a guy

- with luffy photography he just likes catching luffys smile or just luffy in general; whipped dud!!! he thinks he is gorgeous

- ahahhhh budget budgettt. lenses are fucking EXPENSIVE!!! he uses a 50mm that helmeppo got him for his birthday one year (rich kid stuff. he knew koby likes photography and searched Best Lense For People Pictures and bought the first one he saw) the 50 is canon as consequence so koby uses canon for loofy pics. he has an 18-55mm he uses as well.

- he is broke yes. koby does have a minimum wage weekend job to pay for living expenses but all in all that boys pockets are empty. luffy is the breadwinner (miss rabbit with the one zillion jobs) he works about 4 different jobs and is happy to pay for anything koby wants despite kobys adamant NOs. like i said he gets helmeppo to pay for a bunch of stuff and helmeppo pays on his dads card LOL.

- koby does travel! mainly by train or boat, not often does he go to an entirely different country but he has previously a few times. when he does go abroad he takes luffy with him!!!! (he looks pretty in the snow. he likes taking pictures of him in snow)

A/N: Heyy !! im so glad to see such a wonderful response to my previous post I very much enjoyed reading the comments lol. Anyways here is a fluffy fic that is based around the reader making Dottore a scarf, I have more characters in a similar scenario as this in the works so I'll try to post those soon !! I hope you enjoy the fic :))

Being brought to Snezhnaya you had to get used to the cold , one of the ways you did this was developing a new hobby. You had taken the time to learn how to knit although painstaking and your fingers were slightly sore after practising you had managed to learn the ins and outs of the basics. Your first practice project was a scarf of your own , however after you had finished your scarf you eagerly began a new project: a scarf for your lover. It did get pretty cold in his lab , and whenever he went to his business meetings he would always come back and complain about the Snezhnayan climate. So you decided to maybe solve this problem of his. 

You had set out and procured some of the softest yarn you could get your hands on for his scarf , you weren't about to knit him an itchy scarf no-siree. As you sit down on the shared bed you set out your materials , as you start your project you hum to yourself enjoying how calming this new hobby was. The yarn was snuggly wrapped around your fingers as you maneuvered the yarn around the needles slowly but surely making steady progress , you couldn't help but feel excited to see how your lover would react to such a gift. 

After a few weeks of dedicating yourself to this project you were finally done! Although you did have a few close calls of Dottore almost catching you and your top secret project. Luckily you have been able to hide it just in time whilst keeping Dottore’s suspicion low. How exactly you managed to do this successfully is beyond you , but you knew better than to question it. Back to the present as soon as you had finished you did a quick overview of the scarf looking at every stitch checking and making sure it was absolutely perfect he deserved nothing less. After you were sure that everything was up to standard you cleared up your materials hurriedly and took the scarf holding it close to your chest as you rushed out of your bedroom and walked down the many halls that lead to your lover's lab. The closer and closer you etched closer towards his workplace you could feel an involuntary soft smile make its way onto your face. You couldn't contain your excitement as your paces fastened with every step you took , almost bursting from anticipation of his reaction. Alongside the smile on your face you could feel your heart begin to skip a beat , my goodness you were certainly very in love with this man.

 Once you were outside his lab , just by the doors you stood there. A wave of anxiousness came over you, the hand that was lifted to knock on his lab doors hesitated suspended in the air , waiting for any indication of action to be taken. With this sudden rush of anxiety , unwanted thoughts begin to swarm your mind ‘what if he's super busy with work? What if I'm going to disturb him and mess everything up? What if he doesn't even like the scarf?.’ All these thoughts were redundant yet you still couldn't help but let them consume you. Your hand lowered itself as it now dangled next to you almost limp as your previous enthusiasm began to slowly drain away. How could you feel so helpless it's just a scarf and it's making you feel like this ? It was simply ridiculous. Before you had the chance to turn back and attempt to gift him this scarf at another time the doors to his lab begin to open as you can hear the familiar voice of your lover leak into the hall , as well as the blinding lights from within spilling into the hall and illuminating your face. Your breathing hitches as you begin to panic , almost instinctively you hide the scarf that was held to your chest behind you back. 

What you didn't see coming was that Dottore was so preoccupied with his thoughts and assumed that no one would be standing right Infront of his lab doors he almost bumps into. He let out a slight exclamation of surprise when he realised that it was his beloved who was standing outside his lab ‘Oh? My dear, what brings you to my lab? Were you looking for me , is there something bothering you my love? Hm~?’ Although his eyes were covered by his mask , by the way he held you and the tone of voice he was using you could just tell that his eyes were giving you the softest look he was able to give. Just imaging that made your cheeks heat up. You manage to give him a response ‘ nothing is wrong my love i - …. I just came to visit you is all , I was feeling awfully lonely without you’ Although there was some truth behind what you had just told him, Dottore found it obvious that you were trying to conceal something. His hands which were currently holding your arms that were leading towards your back , he slithered his hands down to your waist as he leaned closer. With this sudden action you could feel your body grow warm as you felt quite flustered, you hadn't expected him to be so touchy straight off the bat. You were right to be suspicious of his actions as you could feel Dottore's hands find your own which were gripping onto the scarf that you had made for him. Without a second to spare the scarf is gently taken out of your grasp as he pulls away from you to be able to examine what he had just taken from you. He pushes the lab door open wider to let more light through to be able to fully observe the item , you glance inside the lab to see some of his clones working , they manage to catch you and you send them a small smile and the clone enthusiastically responds by blowing a kiss in your direction . You couldn't help but chuckle at this to yourself. 

However you are brought back to the situation at hand when you hear Dottore clear his throat in a quite obvious manner in order to gain your attention again. He rubs the scarf in between his fingers feeling the softness of the yarn ‘So … who is this garment for ?’ you let out a nervous laugh , before you answer his question ‘well- it's for you , I've been learning how to knit and since you always say that it's too cold I thought that I would make a scarf for you to use’. After you had said this Dottore's suave demeanour completely vanished. He brought his hand up to his mask as he lifted it up  to be able to make direct eye contact with you. His beautiful crimson eyes , surrounded by scar tissue, were watering ‘my love…’ was all he could breathe out before bringing you into an almost bone crushing hug. He whispered into your ear ‘ My dear I will cherish this scarf for as long as my body continues to live , I shall wear it to show of your exquisite craftsmanship’ As soon as he had finished praising you , he began to leave an abundance of kisses all over your face , gentle yet firm kisses all grateful to have a partner who has taken the time to gift him something. It had always been him spending hours in his labs working for others creating things for them and now the tables had turned , he was now on the receiving end for once. He was overjoyed that it was you as well , his first gift ever was given to him by his beloved. 

However only one dilemma now prevailed , the clones were bound to get jealous and come and find you to ask for you to make them scarves too , and of course you obliged , soon enough you had made countless scarves but you didn't mind it was worth seeing their cute reactions each time , why were you so worried in the first place?

Writing environment!!! Honestly it’s just my room in bed 🧍‍♀️ I tend to dedicate one weekend day to get through as MUCH as I can of a fic (I will literally barely move I won’t let myself fall asleep and I hardly eat) and then the rest I finish in little tidbits throughout the week when I have some free time. When I wrote VOYIS I’m pretty sure I spent like 15 hours straight just TYPING 🏃‍♀️ BUT some fics take me a little bit longer especially if I don’t like the direction they’re going. I jot down a few small ideas in my notes app and the rest is purely stream of consciousness so pretty much every fic I’ve written has just been on a whim, with a few ideas from the original request. I wish I could be of more help LOLLL but somehow I’m just like in a trance when I write and I can get through a 20k fic in a day if I REALLY push myself. I’ve always kinda been that way with any hobby I picked up though and obviously everyone has their own timing & pacing !!! 🫶🫶🫶🫶 I love u feel free to ask anything about me and tell me about yourself too I love learning abt my anons OKAY. OKAY HERE WE GO!

First off, I use procreate, and, surprisingly, NO custom brushes!! Almost all of them are default and you can find just by browsing around. And also, some of the tips are only on procreate, really sorry!! But i bet there are a lot of Ibis, CSP, Ect. equivalents!

BEFORE ART AND.. UHHH STUFF YOURE DOING IN THE BACKGROUND??

Almost ALWAYS when drawing, i have something happening/playing in the background like music, a show/movie that ive watched like a million times (Steven Universe), or maybe even an art stream (jakei my beloved /hj) Honestly anything in the background is nice!

More on that, if you like music, i totally suggest finding mood based playlists that is based on what youre drawing. So if youre drawing just cute fluff then put on something that reflects that!! Does it have any actual effect on the art itself? Probably not!! I just like it a lot LMFAO. You can even find tons of character related playlists on spotify you can listen to!

Also suggest having maybe a small art station somewhere! I personally have a small art area that i set up LITERALLY 2 DAYS AGO and i LOVE IT. Anywhere really works, it can literally be your bed!! I just really like the idea of somewhere dedicated to my hobbies, im a nerd :D

ALSO MAKE SURE TO STAY HYDRATED

I also suggest, especially if you tend to draw for long periods of time, to do hand stretches and stuff. (Above my desk i have a stretching guide thingy by @tizzymcwizzy that i suggest doing before during and after longer sessions)

SKETCHING AND FIRST PART OF THE PROCESS!!

First off, one thing that has always been a huge help has been keeping a sketchbook always to jot down ideas, especially in school when we’re not allowed on any personal electronics. I barely use it now that its summer, but it always has been a huge help keeping one with me almost everywhere i go! Plus, its always a lot of “woah eww” when looking back at old art, its kinda like a little archive!!

BUT THATS NOT WHAT YOURE HERE FOR PROBABLY

The big things youre thinking about when sketching down your ideas is NOT making it perfect. The sketch 99% of the time will look absolutely terrible and thats okay, and honestly preferred! Most of the time nobody will even see it, so dont worry about trying to make it look polished. Youre just trying to put the idea on the canvas, thats all youre focused on! Try to stay loose and simple!

BACKGROUND (sometimes)

Fun fact: I usually go from sketch to background to lineart!

I do this for 2 main reasons: firstly, because doing the background can help establish the mood, and also mainly to help pick the colors later on! Although, a lot of the time i dont even do this lol, only for drawing where theres actually a background (im a fraud)

Also, for backgrounds, especially for things like landscapes, you want to try to work with big shapes to refined details, never just tiny sections at a time!

Cry. Cry until theres no tomorrow and hope that you make something worthy of looking at /j

OKAY ACTUALLY, HERES WHAT I TEND TO KEEP IN MIND:

Keep most lines in one big stroke, not many tiny ones

On digital, erasing is super easy, feel feee to over shoot your lines and erase back over

For things with more emphasis, make bolder lines, for example, the eyes or hands

If the lineart just isnt working out, feel free to literally just refine the sketch until it looks like lineart (I DO THIS A LOT)

Cry

Thats all I’ve figured out, lineart is still a mystery to me..

BASIC COLORING!! (Yayy coloring the best part)

First what i do when putting down basic colors is just try to figure out what would be the best general colors, sometimes you can use those little dots on character sheets and use that to figure out what colors would look best together

Youre not going for perfect and youre just jotting down the colors, keep it messy n stuff, no refined details allowed!

After you finish putting down the colors, your new bestfriend in procreate (idk about other equivalents) is the curves, color balance, and hue saturation and brightness function (found in the second dot on the top row). These let you adjust the colors very easily!! I love them a lot!!!

BASIC SHADING

(Sometimes)

Now, a lot of the time i use the basic Multiply layer method, where i just use a dark purple and set the layer to multiply, but recently ive been doing it a BIITTT differently

Basically, take the base color from the previous step and increase the saturation, and decrease brightness, like this:

And then, lower the opacity of the brush down to MAYYYBEEE 5%, take that new color that you have, and take the… hue?? Maybe?? Like, blue green purple ect, but keep saturation and brightness mostly the same. Then, layer layer layer with those different colors, or dont! Use funky colors and shading in places where they shouldnt be, make it crazy!! Dont let it make sense!! There are no set rules for this part AT ALL!! Youre just having fun now! >:)

I totally suggest looking at @yo-honne s art for coloring inspiration. I base mine off theirs A LOT.

TEXTURING N STUFF!

Pro tip for this: spiderverse.

OKAY BUT ACTUALLY the spiderverse movies style is INCREDIBLE, i highly suggest just staring at it and taking mental notes on practically everything

For texturing, i tend to go kinda crazy. I like to use the grid and decimals brushes for shading and lighting respectively on procreate

For this part, you can use mostly random colors, and there are literally no rules!! Youre SUPPOSED to make it look crazy!! No rules man! Put it in random places and HAVE FUN! Go fast and try not to think much about what youre doing!! Dont use the right colors EVER!

FINAL DETAILS AND TOUCHUPS

At this part, you marry procreate.

Overlay layers are your best friend, experiment with them A LOT because that REALLY help making your art pop! Especially with overlay gradients

On procreate, theres a thing called chromatic aberration, that can make colors look blurred and glitchy, use that with errored characters! Or dont!

Use halftones feature!!! It really help!! If you wanna do lighting, you can use an airbrush brush and then use the halftones feature, or just use the decimals brush!!

For lighting try to use layers like screen or add! Or dont, make it random colors for lighting! Go and have fun!

On a new layer, set it to something like vivid light, hard light, ect. And use very vibrant colors to go over lines and areas you feel need more emphasis in the artwork!! Especially if, like in this one, the characters colors are so dark you can barely see the lines

Mess with random brushes in your app and use those to your advantage!

Work fast and try not to stress! Take breaks and take care of yourself!

FINAL NOTES

I can not stress enough, EXPERIMENT!! Try to put random elements of art and stepping out of your comfort zone as much as you can! Have fun and go random! (I think thats my new catchphrase)

Reference things if you want to try something new. For a while i thought references really only meant for weird poses, but it can be for anything!! For this one, i literally looked up spider punk spiderverse and used that as reference, and for the background (before i put filters on) i referenced samdoesarts!

If you feel like messing with colors, make the background something random and try to make the character look… well with the background?? Kinda hard to explain lolol

This is a general guide for my art, and i hardly ever even follow it myself. I fluctuate with my art a ton, taking outisde influences to put into the art and never staying with the same thing every time. My art process is wild and random and very much confusing even to me, and i like it that way!

This whole thing ive developed mostly on my own, and by taking tons of inspiration from other art i found appealing! So some of it might literally be wrong!! SORRYY

I noticed the age you wrote down and I hope you stayed away from all the mature stuff that I write. 📏🧐

1-answer: Believe it or not TWC was my first experience with IF and while I was reading it, all I could think was how bad I wanted to do something similar, like writing a story that people could interact with and make choices. So I joined the forum, learned choicescript, and started working on my very first game The Burning Sun.

2-answer: No I never wrote any non-interactive stories. Interactive fiction is my first experience with writing for the public. From what I've learned about the publishing industry, non-interactive fiction authors can have a hard time finding publishers, and I don't think I could suffer through that process, it seems intimidating.

3-answer: No I never wrote any non-interactive stories. And I don't think I could write a story where I can't give the readers the option to make their own choices. Interactive Fiction ruined it for me. 😅

4-answer: The same as you, I would say, around 14, 15. But those are stories that stayed in my diaries or notebook and were never shared with anyone else. So Interactive Fiction is my first go at making my stories public, and let me tell you I have so many of them. I hope I'll end up writing them all one day and share them.

5-answer: All the time, why do you think I have so many side stories or other projects. As a writer, you are bound to have writer's block. The thing is when it happens, just don't let it stop you and just find a way to relax, give yourself a break, and do something else that you love doing. I wish I could follow my own advice, but... when I get Writer's block, my brain just defaults to write another story. I had writer's block writing the Midnight Saga, so I went on to write Insert Rich Family because it was a story that was more light-hearted and fun. I had writer's block writing Lemons, so I went on to write The Wedding because I wanted my brain to focus on something else. And the cycle continues.

6-answer: I don't. I'm a very disorganized writer, but... I recently applied to be a writer for Heart of Choice and they asked me for a full outline of a game that I pitched them. BOI did I struggle, because when I write my stories I have no idea what chapter 2 or 3 will look like, I just sit down and write and go with the flow. Having had to make a complete outline for the full game without even knowing what it would look like was tough, but... by the end of it, I loved and enjoyed the process and I think I will apply it in my writing from now on. I think having that bit of organization will help in the long run, especially when I have writer's block.

7-answer: No... I just sit down in my kitchen and write. I have a very active brain, so I'm always thinking and always trying to get stuff done. That's why I can do like 3 months' worth of Patreon content, then take a long break because after such high, I crash, then I get high for writing again, then I crash, lol. ll that to say, it's good to take breaks when you get overwhelmed.

8-answer: It's hard to give you a great answer for this because it will depend on what you like and what you're ready to tackle. I will say that writing IF can be challenging, so if you want to start with IF, start small. Try to code a small story, with just one or two NPCs or ROs beside the MC. See how you manage the branching and the development. Don't start big because coding different branches for different interactions can spiral out. I can't really say much about the non-IF part, but I think all IF stories start as non-IF. They only become IF when you start adding choices and branches. 💕

9-answer: I've been fortunate to stay out of some drama here on Tumblr, although my first one did cause me to get blacklisted and blocked from some authors and IF recs. OG readers will know what I'm talking about, and no I don't want to dig out that drama.

I'm grateful for the followers that I have and for every reblog, like, comment, and recommendation. I feel like I'm slowly getting some recognition and that is why I can spot new readers based on their asks. Some people might think I'm new, but no. I've been here a while, just took me some time to make it to your FYP. So how do I handle overbearing or overwhelming comments or asks? If it's something that I feel uncomfortable answering, I just block and delete it. If not, I answer it the best I can because sometimes people may be asking a genuine question, but in writing it, it might come off as rude. So, it's really a case-by-case judgment.

10-answer: Yes, I'm an adult, a millennial. 😭 so old. I went to college in my home country, Haiti, and my degree is in business administration. Nothing to do with writing. My current job which I will lose soon is in Human resources, so writing is just a hobby. But I would love to be able to do this full-time.

Ok jewelry time!

I said this in the tags of my first nashi post, but she likes jewelry. anything gold and shiny that catches her eye.

I like to think she gets it from natsu's dragon instincts to hoard shiny stuff but we simply cannot deny that lucy is a child of the rich and (probably) lovveeessss jewelry especially high quality jewelry (me too girl)

natsu gets her little trinkets and size changing weapons that she can wear/make into jewelry when he takes long jobs

Lilly mentions in an ep that size changing weapons are hard to come by, but since they are very handy, i think they would become more popular by the time nashi hits double digits

she's made a hobby of it and stores all the stuff he gifts her that she's not currently using in a jewelry box he gave her when she was ten

the rest of her jewelry is either in storage (other less sentimental jewelry boxes) or stuff she literally never takes off / is just on her desk for easy access

She rotates most of her daily stuff every month or so to match the season but has a few staples (mainly her facial jewelry)

Most of her jewelry is gifts when the rest of the guild catches on that she likes it

it becomes her signature gift to receive from people

Odessa did her pircings - with supervision of course (this is a lie they very much did it with a safety pin in the guildhall bathroom while both sets of parents were on jobs)

Laxus caught them doing this but said nothing because he thought their parents' reaction would be funny

He watched her grow up just like the rest of lucys sprints, so him firting with her would be super weird

might be a little ooc since he seems to flirt with everyone once they are over the age of 16 but im retconing that for all of the children of his friends for obvious reasons

he flirts with almost anyone else he finds tho - still very much a ladies man

After a long debate with herself and Natsu, they decided leo would be the best fit because leo is closer to nashi than the rest of the spirits are.

even if it means nerfing lucy a bit

she's one of the most powerful celestial wizards ever at this point, so she needs it fr (you have 10 gold keys girl, its time to share with the class).

Nashi has 7ish silver keys

Horologium, Polaris, Nikora, and the rest would be OCs mainly because i think making them would be fun

She has a tan and maroon striped Nikora that she calls Jupiter since one of his red stripes gets thick at one point on his side

Jupiter was her first key and was a gift from her parents for her 10th birthday

when she was 12, she gave him a little blue scarf so he could match her, and he's worn it ever since

i used to always give up on anything i started. i quit art for almost two years even though i had dedicated so much of my life to it in school. didnt draw for the simple purpose of drawing for myself in over four.

with writing, it almost felt like i had an excuse. i was never interested in english class. i didnt take any writing classes outside of what was required in school. so if i wrote something and it was bad, well i just didnt have experience.

but thats the thing. i could tell myself all of that- and for what? i dont feel any better about myself for it. ive read countless fics that deserve to be published in an actual book. words that have so much meaning to me i think about them on a day-to-day basis. these people have an unfathomable level of talent, and yet here they are, posting their work for free. and i get to read it. isn't that incredible?

so it's alright if i can't do that. no writer can ever make something they're 100% happy with. sometimes you get a good idea, and then you throw it all away because you're frustrated. that's okay. pick it up and try again, view it from a different angle. give it another shot because you never know how your words will reach someone else.

and the cool thing about hobbies? you never stop improving. you might hit a rut, start to think you've gotten worse all of sudden, but that's just your expectations for yourself getting higher. it's good to lower them sometimes. tell yourself- hey this doesn't need to be perfect. i'm not super happy with it, but you know what im happy with? the fact that i could even do it in the first place.

I do have a bunch of very happy things going on in my life right now, which I can share: I'm five sessions away from being finished all of my active cancer treatment, and I came out of it just as relatively and ridiculously unharmed as my deities assured me that I would. I'm getting my first haircut in seven months on Saturday morning, because my hair is growing back lusher and lovelier than it was before chemotherapy. I have a huge, fancy, sugar shack-style brunch scheduled with a group of friends on Sunday morning, where I can debut my new 'do. And I have three movie dates, and a date at a comedy club, with my primary partner, all scheduled within the next week, and all of which I'm super looking forward to!

Shelbie is an artist! and a history bluff. she’s an exceptional painter and studies the history of Splatsville’s cultural heritage and mass migration. a natural scholar, she volunteers as a tour guide for various museums around Splatsville to share her love of history to everyone…!!! her research and dedication actually landed her own section in the National history museum…. she definitely didn’t have a breakdown hearing this news…….
