Honestly he should have expected it would happen and how it took so long for him to realize, well he couldn’t help but feel like an idiot. Did he is best trying to remember, trying to pinpoint when it happened.
He first thought you were sick from the amount of times you’d run off and thrown up, not to mention how much sweeter you blood was.
Which of course he stopped the moment you told him that you were expecting his child, he didn’t want to harm you or the little one.
Gale had his questions, but of course the man had his questions. He’s been acting like an older brother to you ever since you tugged his ass out of that damn portal.Astarion wished he would just go and fuck off somewhere, but of course not he just had to keep watch over you.
“Blundering oaf.”
“Did you say something Astarion?” You we’re doing your best to rest, you never thought a pregnancy could be this hard, this tedious.
Tensing, Astarion whipped his head around forcing a smile on his face. “I said, You have never been more beautiful to me than when you are heavy with my child.”
It wasn’t lie of course, you were rather radiant in his eyes but it’s not like he was about to admit his distaste in the man right now.
“You’re glowing.”Astarion cooed, stepping close to you as his fingers caressed your cheek.
Giving him a tired smile, you lent into his touch sighing softly. “You’re so sweet to me.”
“Of course I am darling, you mean the world to me….now get some rest. You are sleeping for two now.”
It did not take long for you to fall asleep, the rise and fall of your chest. Kneeling down in front of your sleeping form he gently grasped your hand in his own, his lips brushing the skin. “I think I’ve fallen more in love with you being pregnant.”
Astarion did his best not to flinch at your screams, the blood, your blood hitting his nose made him sick to his stomach, he couldn’t help but blame himself and when he heard another scream tare from your lips as he felt you clutch his hand tightly, a small sob escaped your lips.
“I will not leave your side, I promise.” He pressed a small kiss to the side of your head as he did his best to ignore instructions from the woman telling you too push.
You weren’t quite sure how long you’ve been on labour but it took one last push to hear the tiny cry of your child. Shadowheart smiling at your both as she cleaned off the baby, placing the newborn in your arms as you lent into Astarion’s chest.
Astarion titled his head to the side, he didn’t even that he had tears streaming down his face. His finger reaching out to caress the newborns cheek. She was so small, he already loved her.
“I never thought babies were so…small.” He whispered, his eyes glued to the little bundle in your arms as a small laughed escaped your lips.
Astarion let out a laugh as her tiny little hand wrapped around his finger. “Look at how tiny her hands are!”
Clearing out his throat, Astarion glanced away when he felt your gaze on him. “What?”
“Nothing, I just think it’s cute, you’re going to be such a good father.” You let out a yawn cradling the newborn to your chest, her little hand still grasping Astarion’s finger.
His gaze softened for a moment as he gently took the baby from your arms so you could sleep.
“The word father suddenly has a nice ring to it.”

PEOPLE WATCHING [j. maybank]
Tumblr media
pairing jj maybank x fem!reader
summary jj ignoring one of his friends is strange. and off-putting. so when he does it to you, argument ensues and indifferent confessions toward one another begin to spill.
warnings rafe being an ass, mentions of abuse, semi based on s1 ep5 but also not?? don’t expect anything regarding the obx plot, reader is in a similar situation to sarah and kie’s social standing (kook-turned-pogue) !
wc 3.1k
note this song just SCREAMS jj i couldn’t not write something inspired by it! also this man is so ‘angsty-love-confession-in-the-rain’ coded why didn’t the obx writers take that chance when they had it >:(
Tumblr media
you never thought you would see the day that jj deliberately ignored you. sure, he hated talking about his feelings, and he was too stubborn for his own good, but he had never once gone out of his way to avoid your presence. until now.
“he won’t even look at me,” you hissed at kie, eyes glued to the blond who maneuvered around groups of people, the tray in his hands lacking drinks. he had a smile on his face regardless, making small quips at people as he passed them.
kie huffed, moving her body to block off your view of jj. her lilac dress shimmered in the orange light as she said, “just give him some time. he’ll come around. he always does.”
you chewed on the inside of your cheek, spinning the ring on your index finger as you continued to try and get a clear view of him. “yeah. i guess you’re right.”
the girl in front of you grinned in a way that seemed to say i always am.
still mildly offset about jj’s attitude toward whatever it is that you had done to upset him, you took a step back from kie, situating yourself so you could comfortably watch him once again. as you did, you noticed his back was now to you, topper, kelce, and rafe appearing to slowly herd him toward the building. the trio of men wore smug smiles, and before you knew it jj had lost his tray and swung open one of the glass doors, sprinting in the direction of the restrooms.
your eyebrows knitted together in sudden urgency, hand already swatting at kiara’s bare shoulder. “kie. kie they’re chasing him-”
“who’s- oh. oh,” kie said aridly.
“we have to go,” you told her, already gathering the skirt of your sage-green dress in a hand.
kie grabbed your arm quickly. “and do what? stab them with the back of our heels?”
“if that’s what it takes,” you told her stubbornly, ripping your bicep from her grip. “stay here if you want, i don’t care, but i’m going to go help the best i can.”
you didn’t wait for her response as you started in the direction of the door, gait switching between an uneven combination of a speedwalk and a run. whether or not jj was mad at you, nothing was going to stop you from assisting him in any way possible, especially if he was severely outnumbered. rafe was practically psychotic, his solution to everything was always violence, and topper and kelce only egged him on.
the cool a/c brought goosebumps to your skin, a chill shivering its way down your spine as you swept past people and furniture. fortunately, you spotted the dark-colored bathroom door, the sound of disgruntled male voices seeping through the wood. when you recognized jj’s, you didn’t hesitate to push past the barrier, deciding the consequences could be left for future you to deal with.
middle-age men immediately protested to your appearance, but you ignored them as you hurried in the direction of the overlapped voices, and, sure enough, you found yourself walking into the midst of the kooks jumping jj.
none of the boys noticed your presence, too wrapped up in whatever they were doing to grow aware of their surroundings.
your attention zoned in on your beat-up-looking friend, the sight of kelce retaining him in a jarring choke hold resulting in your sudden outburst of, “what the fuck is going on?”
“oh, look who’s decided to join us,” rafe leered, his grin growing twice as big. jj continued to struggle against kelce’s grasp, saying your name dryly as his eyes jumped from you to the oldest cameron sibling.
“the hell is wrong with all of you?” your glare turned to kelce, his eyes narrowed in vain. “let him go or i swear to god…”
rafe’s face only continued to dwell with enlightenment at your interruption. he stood up straight and took a long stride in your direction, forcing you to spin toward him. he put less than a foot between his body and yours. “or you’ll do what-”
the air stilled as you slapped the man across the cheek, your palm stinging from the impact. even though he towered over your smaller person, you still sneered up at him, gaze narrowed as if he were no more than the scum on the bottom of your shoe. “you’re not the only one in this town who has a powerful father, rafe cameron. yours just happens to have the worst reputation.”
rafe’s fingers ghosted the flushed skin where you had struck him, eyebrows beginning to knit together as his familiar rage started to surface. he barely had time to speak, “you fucking bitch-” before someone cut in.
the flickering lights caught everyone’s regard, and you watched stiffly as kelce instantly released jj and spun on his heels. “gentlemen. ma’am,” a security guard addressed, “is there a problem here?”
jj was quick to jump in, rushing to say, “pardon me, officer, i just…” his blue eyes caught yours, but they jumped back the man in the black tux before you could give him a warning glance. “we just- well, actually, yes, there is an issue. we have a criminal trespass in progress here.”
you knew he was just doing the best he could to get you both out of the situation, yet you didn’t mask your rather disgusted expression as he continued.
“beep! call it in, right?” the blond urged. “blatant disrespect for private property.”
the boys around you nodded, avoiding eye contact with the guard. multiple yeahs circled the room.
“we’re in violation of all kinds of shit, sir,” jj said, barely taking the motion to glance at you over his shoulder. he turned to kelce, plastering on a fake smile. he began to straighten the cyan-colored bow tie. “but these young gentlemen…” his hand was quickly swatted away. “...uh, caught us, sir, and they were about to take us away. which is what you should do; escort us out of here.”
you watched as jj offered up his wrists before looking back at you. his brows jumped to his hairline in a silent plea to just go along with the nonsense spewing out of his mouth. still mildly irritated at him and everything about whatever the fuck is going to happen as a repercussion, you exhaled sharply and took a few steps in his direction, sending a glare in rafe’s direction.
your arm brushed against jj’s as you mimicked his actions. “you caught us, officer.”
the man rolled his eyes, but reached behind you, hands roughly grabbing onto yours and jj’s biceps. “come on.”
but jj seemed to feel that he needed to add to the situation, his adhd never failing to shine in moments like these. he turned to kelce again as rafe moved closer, topper behind him. “fix that tie, son. oh, and you’re lookin’ quite spiffy too. you powerpuff girls have fun, alright?”
just as the guard was about to lead you both through the exit, rafe shouted your name. “you know you’re pretty hot for a ‘pogue!’”
jj spun before you could even react, already storming in the direction of the smirking boy. ‘mister security’ left you standing in the doorway as he trudged over to the beginnings of a fight and ripped your friend from the group. “let’s go,” he snuffed, shoving the blond harshly.
you avoided jj’s aggravated gaze as you locked eyes with rafe, still being pushed by the man. raising a hand, you flipped him off. “suck my dick, cameron.”
“knock it off,” the guard said, his fingers squeezing the flesh of your arm. his warning compelled you to turn away, huffing air through your nose in annoyance.
rafe scoffed a laugh from his spot, highly entertained by the sight before him. “hey, safe travels back to the cut, you two!”
“this shit ain’t over!” jj hollered, earning a harsh shove in the direction of the exit.
as the man directed you and jj out of the building, you made a point to not bother interacting with the boy, ignoring his existence entirely, just as he had done to you previously. talking to him at the moment would only result in yelling at each other, and the idea of that was rather repulsive.
finally pushing past one of the glass doors, you attempted to wrench your arm away. it only ended with the guard’s hands squeezing even tighter. “dude, i can walk by myself- let me go.”
jj tried the same thing as you passed a distressed-looking kiara. “yeah, we have legs. can’t you see that, daryl? and, hey, thanks for the ‘discretion.’ let us just walk out by ourselves, yeah?”
nearly stumbling on stairs because of your heels, you made a noise out of exasperation, eagerly pulling back. “give me- oh my god, just let us go!” as heads started to turn in your direction, you desperately hoped that one of your parents would show up, but as daryl continued to haul you and jj (who continuously made comments to the people he passed) away from everything, you made one last hopeless attempt to get him to let go.
“wait!” you said, this time actually tripping on your heels. faking a stumble, you very nearly successfully fell out of daryl’s grasp. “these shoes are killing my feet. let me at least take them off if you insist on dragging us through the mud.”
he rolled his eyes, but loosened his grip.
bending slightly, you raised your left foot off the ground, undoing the buckle of your heel. as you stepped out of the shoe, you went to do the other, stealing a glimpse at jj. this is too easy.
finally standing on the bare ground, you turned back to daryl, shoving your heels to his chest. “would you mind holding these for me? thanks.” using the best of your strength, you threw him off, jj happily doing the same, and began backing in the opposite direction just as your father appeared from behind mr. carrera. his face went from confusion to anger in the span of less than three seconds, and you knew you’d be in for the biggest lecture of your life when you confronted your parents later. but for now, all you wanted to do was get off the property.
and jj seemed to have a similar idea, as his fingers brushed against your left hand, gesturing with the jut of his chin when you made eye contact with him. “come on.”
unable to help the satisfied smile that pulled at the corners of your mouth, you turned away, quickly following jj into the darkness as kie called after you.
Tumblr media
“okay, i think we’re far enough,” you huffed heavily, slowing to a walk beside jj.
he ran his fingers through his disheveled hair as he nodded. for once he had nothing to say, and it made you stop on the sidewalk.
“so that’s it?” you started, grabbing his elbow and forcing him to look at you. “you’re just going to go back to ignoring me? after everything that just happened back there? at least tell me what i did for you to treat me like this.”
his blue eyes averted your own as he chewed on his busted bottom lip.
“what did i do, jj?” you asked as your arm fell back to your side, annoyance slipping into despair. “just tell me.”
jj looked at you, and even in the strained moonlight could you just now see how badly his upper left cheek was bruising. he was fiddling with the hem of his white button-up shirt as he stood, stubbornly remaining quiet.
sighing, you took a step closer, the pavement cool under your bare feet. he flinched back when you went to raise a hand. you licked your lips. “did…did rafe and the others do this?”
stiffening, jj lifted his chin and looked down at you, his expression morphed into something between disgust and vacancy. “no,” was all he said.
“oh,” you breathed, your body running cold, even in the humid night air. of course. “maybe you should come back home with me. i can-”
“no,” jj repeated more firmly, shaking off your words. “no, i don’t need your pity right now. go back to midsummers. you and kie looked like you were having loads of fun.”
you scoffed in sudden disbelief, realizing what this was about—why he had been ignoring you for nearly a full day. “i’m not- i’m not offering to care for you out of pity,” you told him bitterly. “you’re my friend, jj, and i’ll always try and protect you when i can. i’m sorry that you’re too naive to realize and accept that.”
jj took a step back, his hands balling into fists as he shook his head. “i don’t need your protection. i don’t need your compassion, or whatever the hell you wanna call it,” he spat. “and i don’t need you.”
“you’re just saying that,” you protested quickly, swallowing down the crack in your voice and blinking back the sharp sting of tears.
shaking his head again, jj’s lips pressed into a thin line. “go back to that big, shiny house of yours.” he wasted no time in turning around, his back straight as he walked away, the clarity of his figure growing less and less as he retreated.
unable to process the moment, you ran a hand over your face, forcing yourself to keep your composure and not yell out to him. what the fuck just happened? you thought, panic beginning to set in as jj officially disappeared around the block.
what am i going to do?
Tumblr media
the house was quiet when you entered, and after a quick call for your parents, you realized they were still partying away at the country club. it was somewhat of a relief.
feet sore and dirty, you began to rid yourself of your jewelry, unclasping the chains around your neck and picking off the rings on your fingers. you set them on your nightstand as you shut your bedroom door, immediately falling onto your bed.
lying back to stare at the beige ceiling, you inhaled deeply, running through the events that had taken place. and it had all ended in jj leaving you. for how long, you didn’t know—didn’t even want to think about it. so, with one last sigh, you stood from your mattress, stripped yourself down, and headed toward the bathroom, already thinking up a plan for tomorrow.
Tumblr media
“look, i wasn’t trying to make a scene,” you explained over the phone, shrugging your shoulders even though your parents couldn’t see. “it just…happened, i guess. i’m sorry.” there was a tense pause, filled by the sound of your dad sighing on the other end of the line. “can i please go now? we can talk as soon as i get home later, i swear.”
you heard unintelligible whispers before your mom said, “you cannot keep blowing us off.”
“i know, i know.” you really did not want to have this conversation when you were nearly at jj’s house, the sky murky with dark clouds. “again, i’m sorry, but you know i don’t normally do stuff like this, so can you guys please ease off?”
“fine. only for a few hours. i want you home soon, it’s supposed to storm today. we will talk later.” your dad said roughly, irritation laced in his voice.
shoulders visibly sagging, you couldn’t help but nod in relief. “yes, thank you. love you both.” with that, you impatiently clicked the red button on the screen as jj’s house appeared. pocketing your phone, you spotted the blond in his yard, squatting next to his red dirt bike. and for a split second, you were just happy to see him, the events circling last night forgotten.
you approached quietly, making just enough noise to let him know someone was walking over. as his head turned, your jaw went slack at the fresh bruise blooming along his jawline. you cleared your throat. “hi.”
“hey.” jj returned to his bike.
“i, uh…i came to talk.” thunder rumbled from somewhere above. “about last night. about us.”
the entire way here you rehearsed what you were going to say, switching things out or removing them completely, but now, when he stood and looked over at you with a somewhat pissed-off expression, you found your tongue to be dry and your mind blank.
“what’s there to talk about.” he said it more like a statement and less like a question. “there’s nothing to talk about.”
you licked your lips as droplets started to wet your shoulders and scalp. “we both know that’s not true, jj.”
he wiped his hands on a cloth before tossing it into an open toolbox. shaking his head and sauntering forward, he said again, “there isn’t anything to talk about. you say you care about me, but you don’t. you don’t. do yourself a favor and stop lying to yourself. stop lying to me.”
“no, i do care, okay?” the raindrops began to fall harder, yet the only thing you were worried about was getting your point across. getting jj to understand. “i have cared about you for as long as i have known you. that first night at the chateau with the others…when you finally let me in…i didn’t know then, but i know now—i love you. a lot.”
jj scoffed and shook his head with an incredulous smile, his stare glued to the soaked grass, ignoring the weight of your confession. “you don’t know anything, alright? that night didn’t mean anything to anyone.”
“yes, it did!” you persisted loudly, frustrated with both him and yourself.
“no, it didn’t!” he snapped, reaching forward and grabbing the sides of your shoulders in exasperation. when you flinched at his yelling, a sudden wave of realization washed over him, and he released you with a step back, blinking rapidly against the rain. “nothing happened; nothing is happening.” he sounded more like he was trying to convince himself rather than you. “you’re a kook. and i’m a pogue. we belong on two very different sides of this island.”
“jj,” you said softly. he remained still, hair stuck to the sides of his face as you went to cup it, palms resting against his wet skin. “just give in. for one pathetic second just forget about the social economic standing of everything and give in to me. please.” you weren’t sure whether the wetness on your face was your tears or the rain. “i know you want to, but you aren’t letting yourself. nothing you say or do will push me away. you’re stuck with me, pogue or not.”
his gaze flickered vicariously between your eyes and mouth, internally fighting with his own feelings. but, ultimately, you could see that your words had struck deep enough—that as the chill of cold water drenched your clothes and hair, as his warm fingers wrapped delicately around your wrists, thumbs sliding against your skin, you had won.

everyone but her pt.3
a/n: dont mind me, just posting at work. EDIT: previously titled about time
Word Count: 3.0k Warnings: mention of past injury, hints of past abuse, swearing Pairing: Wednesday Addams x Reader (Masterlist)
Tumblr media
There was still an ache in your shoulder when you sat down in your phytotoxicology class. It was decently scabbed (which was beyond itchy) but the actual joint was sore. You had hoped it would ease up a bit over the weekend, but to no avail. Hopefully no one had really noticed your stiff movements. But hey, at least you were left handed.
“You look miserable,” Wednesday said as she sat to your left.
“Shut up, Addams,” you mumbled.
Enid sat behind the two of you, her eyes glued to where your hands were resting on the desk. If you just moved your hand a few inches to the left. And if you could talk just a little louder so she could hear, that would be great. She needed to know what you two were talking about. If it wasn’t about a date then she was going to scream. She just wanted you both to get over yourselves.
Class went on as usual; Enid was forced to bear witness to you doodling in Wednesday’s notebook, completely interrupting her notes. In turn, Wednesday would add rather… violent attachments to your initial drawing, and the cycle would continue. She couldn’t see your face, but your shoulders would shake with silent laughter every few doodles. You were both so close.
“Miss Y/N?”
Your head snapped up, turning toward the front where Miss Thornhill was standing with an expectant look.
“Adonis vernalis,” you said proudly without hesitation.
“Not even close,” Miss Thornhill said with a smile while everyone failed to stiffle their giggles. “See me after class.”
“Aw man,” you mumbled as you slumped back into your seat. All that pep in your step had been washed away.
Quite frankly, Enid thought it was hilarious.
She rushed to catch up with Wednesday as you stayed behind to talk to Miss Thornhill. For such a small person, Wednesday could move really fast. It was starting to become an issue because Enid was not dressed for jogging across campus. God, why couldn’t she just slow down?
“It seems it’s impossible to get away from you,” Wednesday said when Enid finally caught up; she slowed her pace anyway.
“Did you-”
“-No, and I’m not going to,” Wednesday interrupted.
“You don’t even know what I was going to say,” Enid pouted.
“You were going to ask if I have asked Y/N on a date, and the answer is no.”
“Then I give up,” Enid said as she threw her hands into the air. “You two are far too stubborn. Enjoy the friendzone.”
She stalked off, trying not to smile to herself when she noticed Wednesday had stopped walking. With any luck, her plan would work splendidly and you would both be together before Parent’s Weekend in a month. It may have taken her a little longer than planned to come up with such a genius idea, but it was going to be worth it.
—---
It was truly a beautiful day to be outside. Overcast skies, a cool breeze, potential for rain. Not the best day to fly, but a wonderful time to walk around. Maybe you could stop by the lake, tease the monsters below the surface. At least you would if you weren’t stuck in the greenhouse.
Miss Thornhill was truly, and you meant this with the utmost respect, a bitch. So maybe you didn’t pay attention in class, and maybe you got a bunch of questions wrong. But that’s what she got for calling on you in class. Had you raised your hand? Had you given any indication whatsoever that you knew the answer? No. So really, this was on her.
And now you were stuck in the stupid greenhouse having to jot down sketches of each plant, their scientific name, and what symptoms they cause if ingested or inhaled. You had only finished maybe a third of the greenhouse and it was already midafternoon. You were never going to be done with this stupid detention.
You didn’t even like plants.
“You look miserable.”
“There’s more than one way to greet a person, you know,” you said without turning around.
Wednesday slid into your peripheral like a wisp of smoke; she always moved smoothly even though she appeared so rigid. Her coat hung off her small frame, and the snood Enid had made her only accentuated that by swallowing what little of her remained. She was reminiscent of the little kids at the park in winter; their parents had bundled them up in the warmest clothing they could find in the house.
“Just let me finish my detention, Addams,” you mumbled as you jotted down another sketch. It wasn’t half bad, actually.
For better or worse, Wednesday stayed silent as you moved around the greenhouse, assigned sketchbook in hand. There was no doubt you were getting 90% of the names wrong, and you were just writing “it’s bad :(“ under the list of symptoms at this point, but you didn’t care. This kind of detention was stupid. Besides, it was a Saturday; you should’ve been out getting coffee or harrassing everyone at Pilgrim World, not sitting in a humid greenhouse practicing your art skills. But no, now you were stuck here and- oh that plant is pretty.
“Don’t touch it,” Wednesday said rather quickly as you reached out to touch the flower.
“Why not?” You asked in indignation, finally turning around to see her. Oh, she’s cute.
“It’s a foxglove,” she answered.
“Wednesday,” you sighed, “if I knew what that meant, I wouldn’t be in here on a Saturday afternoon.”
“It’s toxic to birds.” She rolled her eyes at your incompetence.
“Oh, well thank- wait.” You narrowed your eyes at her and the smallest movement at the corner of her mouth. “I’m not a bird and you know it.”
“You can never be too sure,” she said without hesitation.
“Oh, you’re a prick,” you huffed out. You had to turn back to look at the plants again so she wouldn’t see your poor attempts at not laughing. “Why are you even here?”
“I brought you this.”
She brought me something? You thought. Well know she was just getting desperate if she was going to be bringing you things. You set your sketchpad down on the table, in front of the foxglove that Wednesday claimed to be toxic to birds. What had she brought you-
“-What is that?” You asked once your eyes landed on the small bag in her hands.
“Birdseed,” she said. “It’s a bribe.”
“That better not be for me or I will get offended,” you said, switching your weight to your other foot and crossing your arms over your chest.
“You’re going birdwatching with me.” She rolled her eyes but held the bag out further for you to take from her.
“Are you asking me out on a date?” You asked.
Wednesday Addams did not blush, that was a well known fact. Not a drop of colour would be found on her cheeks, ever. But that didn’t mean she was emotionless; you could tell when the stretch of skin over her cheeks and nose turned a little darker. It was the closest to an uncontrollable show of emotion as she was ever going to get.
And you were absolutely living for it.
“Are you coming or not?” Wednesday asked, completely ignoring your question for clarification.
You wanted her to admit it was a date. Wanted her to swallow her pride and say the word “date” because it’s just what you needed. There was no way in hell you were going to ask first, not when she had always been so clear about her thoughts on what a waste of time relationships were. “Look at my parents,” she had said one night, “limited because they can’t go anywhere alone.”
But you needed her to call it a date. Your hopes were embarrassingly high and you just needed her to say that four letter word. It could only be once and you would be happy. If she called it a date once and then never again until the day you died, you would be content. Just say the word, you thought to yourself as she finally turned her head back around to face you.
“Fine,” Wednesday sighed, “I’ll go on my own.” She turned around and started walking away.
“Wait!” You called after her. She stopped, but didn’t turn around.
You looked around frantically for the rest of your things. What if Miss Thornhill showed up and realised you were gone? And worse yet, what if she realised you sucked at detention? She was going to tell Principle Weems and then you would get another scolding. But pass up on a date with the Wednesday Addams?
Shit.
“You’re a bad influence, Wednesday Addams,” you huffed once you finally caught up to her and you both started walking out of the greenhouse.
You missed the small smile on her face.
—---
For all intents and purposes, Wednesday did not like you. If anyone dared to ask, you were nothing more than a thorn in her side, and not in a good way. No, you weren’t as energetic and colourful as Enid, but you still smiled too much. You cracked too many jokes and made yourself too accomadating. Any normal person would have been embarrassed.
No, Wednesday Addams did not like you.
She did not like the way you had talked the whole way to your preferred spot in the forest. “It’s a bit late for birdwatching,” you had said on the walk over, “but it’s overcast, so it might be fine.” She did not like the way you actually took your harness off and ruffled your feathers. Or the way they puffed up a little, “because it’s cold,” you explained with a shrug and a blush on your neck. Then there was the way you were sat still as a statue, birdseed scattered around, just waiting for some birds to stop by.
No, she didn’t like you.
There were absolutely no feelings in her void of a soul when a bird finally did appear, standing directly in front of your outstretched hand. The gentle smile on your face was completely moronic. You would make an excellent side character in her book; the same character that would get herself killed off in the first chapter. Wednesday could see it now; you would be too focused at the park and would get yourself put on a hit list simply because you were an easy target.
She wouldn’t be caught dead watching your feathers ruffle when more birds appeared, flocking around you. Or listening intently to what you were saying to them, holding full conversations as they hopped around and picked at the birdseed you continuously scattered. No, she would not join you on the ground, she was just fine sitting with her back to the tree. And no she didn’t want to feed the birds, this is an outing for you, she’s just the chaperone.
Her cold, black heart did not stutter when the light caught your skin just right and illuminated the nearly-healed scrapes and bruises from your incident last week. Wednesday had always loved the colours of a bruise. The angry red reminiscent of a wound, or the healing yellow-green that was nearly the same as the colour of a waterlogged corpse. Although they didn’t look quite as stunning on you. For one odd reason or another, seeing the bruises and cuts on your skin, or the apparent stiffness of your joints brought no joy to her.
There is no way in heaven or hell that she would admit she watched you the way her father watched her mother. Watching your every move, from the rise and fall of your chest to the twitch in each individual feather. The way the veins on your forearms stood out when you lifted a bird up or the eyelash that now resided on your cheek that she so desperately wished to wipe off for you. Or that your small, airy little laugh made her feel like an arrow had impaled her heart and mind and soul, painfully tethering her to the tree she was leaning against.
No, she was not her father.
And no, she did not like you.
—---
You looked like a little kid sitting in the chair on the other side of Larissa’s desk. With a bowed head and hands folded tightly in your lap, you reminded her of the young children in normal schools who got sent to the principle’s office for something they hadn’t done. Except you very well had done what you were accused of; maybe that was why you looked so guilty.
“Miss Thornhill told me you’ve been struggling in class,” Larissa started off. “You’re struggling to focus.”
“I’m just not any good at it,” you said with a shrug. You still weren’t looking up.
“She also told me you had been given detention last Saturday,” she continued; you sunk further into the chair. “And you were nowhere to be found when she went to check on you.”
“Wow, that’s wild,” you said with a huff. “She probably needs to check that her perscriptions are up to date,” you said, tapping your finger to the corner of your eye, “might need a better one.”
“Did you skip your detention?” Larissa asked, far softer than she would be with any other student.
“I didn’t “skip” detention,” you started. “I was there until around 3, I think that was punishment enough.”
“What came along that was more important than your detention?” Larissa continued to pry.
“A date,” you said so quietly that she almost couldn’t hear you.
“A date? With whom?” She asked with a small smile and in the gentlest voice she could offer you.
To most, it would be an inappropriate question. No one wanted their principle to know all the juicy details of their personal lives. But Larissa knew you both had a… slightly different relationship. She knew you struggled, you had been a student at Nevermore for nearly eight years; she knew what damage your personal life had inflicted upon you. For eight years she had been able to provide some sort of comfort, a surrogate parent of sorts, and she was doing her best to give you that space to be a normal teenager with a normal parent.
You had talked with her about these things before, it wasn’t like she was implying something out of nowhere. Larissa had been your shoulder to cry on through all of your family woes, your frustrations, your first heartbreak. It shouldn’t have been such a surprise for her to ask, even though you had initially been sent to see her because you had evaded your justly-deserved detention.
But instead of your usual excitement, Larissa noticed a glaze cover your eyes and your arms wrap tightly around yourself. She had seen you like this multiple times; you still refused to see a therapist about it. And as much as she wanted to go to you and comfort you, previous experience had told her you needed to feel it all before coming back to the present.
“Y/N?” She asked quietly, leaning over her desk to get closer to you without invading your space.
You blinked once, slowly, a single tear falling onto your quivering bottom lip. Your tongue darted out to lick your lip before your eyes opened. The haze took its time in fading from your usually sparkly eyes, but you looked up at Larissa as it diminished. One shuddering breath in, a shaky breath out, and your body fell into a relaxed state once again.
“Wednesday Addams,” you choked out around the sobs that you were shoving back down your throat. Your eyes flickered away from her at the admission.
“What did you both go do?” Larissa asked with a smile that you definitely saw this time.
There was a hesitancy on your face; your lips were parted slightly as if you were about to speak, and your eyes shone brightly, but the slight tilt of your head gave you away. You weren’t one to outwardly share your emotions, but your body langauge always gave you away. It brought a joy to Larissa that she had never understood was possible before you had come around.
“Well, she bought some birdseed-,” you started, immediately going off about the entire date.
Larissa leaned forward, completely enthralled with your tale. The way your hands gestured this way and that, the movements eloquent in their own right. Pianist’s fingers, she recalled. The inflection in your voice a mirror of your younger self, back when you had less worries. You’re excited, she thought with a soft sigh. You haven’t been excited in years.
“-and then Miss Thornhill saw me and sent me straight here,” you finished with a huff, clearly out of breath.
“Will you go on another one?” Larissa asked after you had caught your breath slightly.
“Well, I think it’s my turn to ask next,” you shrugged; there was a sparkle in your eye. “So yes.”
“Then you’d better go prepare.” Larissa sat back in her chair and crossed her legs. “She set the bar pretty high, don’t you think?”
“Might find an autopsy she can watch,” you mused aloud as you pushed yourself off the chair. The stiffness of your injury had yet to ease, Larissa noticed as you essentially limped over to the doorway.
“Oh, Y/N,” she called out once you were halfway out the door.
“Yes ma’am?” You asked, leaning back into the office.
“You can make up your failed detention on Saturday,” she said with a smile that only got bigger as you groaned.
“This place is a fucking prison,” you grumbled as you walked away. Larissa sat back in her chair and looked over toward the fireplace. Maybe, she thought, Addams won’t be so bad afterall.

time stood still for what felt like hours, he couldn’t feel his limbs, his legs didn’t move, his mind full of racing thoughts but none making any sense, too jumbled together to be able to complete a single line of action, his eyes burnt and blinking away he noticed it was due the tears. aaron’t didn’t bother to clean them.
not like this. not right now.
the blurriness begins to fade as the sirens became louder, aaron tries to run as his legs obey him once more, but he’s stopped by derek’s arms, holding him back at full force and yelling his name. the yelling seems far away even though it’s in front of him.
“morgan! let me go, let me go!” he tries to give his most stern look, his throat is dry and voice cracks out as he tries to be heard over the commotion, spencer and emily bring helping arms, stopping him from trying. “does she have a pulse? why aren’t they taking her already?”
all he can see is red, from the ambulances, from the sirens, from the blood splattered in the white blouse you chose to wear to work that day. the blue badge hanging on your pocket proudly where red touched: blood and bloodline, rossi.
“where’s dave?” realization dawns on him, he couldn’t get to you because it wasn’t good, and your father was nowhere to be found. “where’s ros–did anyone call david?” it’s all happening fast, in seconds, minutes, but he still isn’t able to let your last name slip out of his tongue, hurting as he thought so.
you’re finally placed on a gurney and he feels a tiny bit of hope, ready to fight the arms of his colleagues, his family, to run to you.
his knees fail him before he could, a dark tarp being pulled over you, your arm slipping from the gurney, lifeless.
not like this. not again.
derek tries to stop him from falling to the pavement, but the weight of his body giving up is too much. aaron ends up sitting on the sidewalk, unable to speak, unable to listen to any comfort anyone tried to bring him. he’s cursed. he’s sure of it now.
if there was a god, he wasn’t merciful, he was bloodthirsty, and he had a vendetta against aaron. he’s cursed, he knows it.
“i didn’t tell her–i thought i had time–i didn’t tell her…” he’s a mumbling barely understandable mess and after that it all mixes up together, all sounds, all images turning into one big blur that turned into the sight of your body being carried away.
next thing he knows he’s at the hospital even though he’s not allowed to recognize your body, he’s not family, even though he had just a week before started to look for engagement rings, he’s not family yet. he didn’t buy one, he didn’t propose.
he can’t sign any papers regarding your death off because he took too long to ask you to go to a courthouse with him, get married, sign papers proving you were part of him as much as he was a part of you instead. all aaron could do was sit down on the first chair he could find, eyes glued to his own hands, sweaty, white from his mental state but clean; not bloody like yours when it dropped from the gurney.
he doesn’t know how much time passes, jj sits by his side, offers him water, coffee, tells him they’ve called home to tell jessica to keep jack for a few more hours.
home. the word alone makes his skin crawl but he doesn’t have enough time to devolve into it, the shuffling of dave’s quick steps snapping him out of it quickly enough for him to watch the older’s hand closed into a fist, the punch to his jaw was the obvious next step but he didn’t move, accepting it gratefully as it was his fault.
it’s the first time he sees david cry and he’s expecting yelling, but he feels arms around him instead.
they cry together. your father tells him he’s sorry for his first reaction, but he knows that’s gonna go deep into aaron’s unconscious for a long time.
it wasn’t his fault, everyone around him kept telling him that and the rational part of his brain did too, but he couldn’t let go of how you were alone because of him. because of how he reacted when you suggested moving in together, getting a bigger place with a backyard for jack.
aaron told you it was too soon, that jack had enough change in his life, that you needed to take things slow. he told you no because he was afraid, terrified of ruining things that were already too good to be true.
you weren’t happy with his response, you went back to your apartment. you were alone.
it was an accident, you stepped on the road too soon, the truck never saw you coming, there was a series of hits after that, several injured, only you fatal. he couldn’t blame anyone, so he blamed himself. it wouldn’t happen if you were with him.
the funeral tears him apart, jack didn’t cry when his mom died, not at first, he didn’t understand, but now he was old enough to understand a funeral meant he would never see you again, so he sobbed embraced by joy, she had tears herself streaming down her eyes from losing her half sister. just a reminder of another person aaron failed.
your father gives a speech about how he wished he had more time, how glad he was about the time he had and tries to lift up the mood by saying that at least he wouldn’t have to look for a murderer, you hated his books about it after all.
no one was sure if aaron would speak, knowing that doing that once was enough for a lifetime, but he needed to, he needed to say it out loud, even if you couldn’t hear it.
“i was always terrified i was going to bite more than i could chew with her–” he smiles to himself, memories of you flooding his mind, “she was a force of nature, and i loved her, i did. i love her still. and i never told her that, she was so patient with me and i never told her how much i love her because i was scared.” he had so much more to say, but he knew he would break down if another word left his lips, so he just stepped aside, taking jack in his arms to comfort and be comforted by his little boy.
he couldn’t sleep that night, or the ones that followed, thinking about how if he told you before how much he loved you, even if you knew without it, if he looked for rings earlier, if he bought one, proposed, if he just got over his fear of losing people and kissed you when you suggested moving in with him… you wouldn’t have slipped through his fingers like that.
aaron is cursed, he knows that.

would you ever write about ymsl harry & y/n finding out they’re having a girl ? i can imagine harry is wishing for a girl the whole time 🥺
omg yes I decided awhile ago I wanted them to have a girl (and I kinda revealed it in the newborn blurb) butttt here u go :))

talk to me
. . .
"You're making me dizzy."
Harry resists the urge to roll his eyes at Y/N's annoyingly cavalier demeanor. He knows they're here every few weeks, but she's gotten surprisingly calm at spreading her legs under a scratchy paper gown as her doctor pokes and prods at her uterus and growing tummy. Today, however, is different, and Harry refuses to pretend like it's not a big deal — today, they can find out the sex of their baby.
"Sorry," he mutters, pausing his pacing to shuffle over to the table she's sprawled across. She still maintains the whole "no-standing-down-there" rule, which he's happy to respect. "Just nervous."
"I know you are, but there's nothing to be nervous about. It's either a boy or a girl. Really, it's all bullshit anyway, they may decide differently once they're here—"
"I know that," Harry says with a huff. Typically, the roles between them are very much reversed — she's constantly irritated with his chatty nature, but he's learned that he gets rather... irked when she acts so flippant about certain things, especially pertaining to their child. He tries not to let it get to him, knowing that they essentially have opposite personalities and communication styles, but it's a bit tougher when he's swimming chest-high in anxiety.
Thankfully, a knock at the door puts a fast stop to their back-and-forth; the entrance of Dr. Ruth serving as a much-needed distraction.
"Hi, you two!" she greets happily as she takes a seat on the small swivel chair, "Are we ready to find out the sex today?"
"Yes!" Harry replies all-too quickly, making Y/N snicker from the table. He issues a glare her way and it only makes her laugh harder.
"Harry's a little... anxious about it."
Dr. Ruth hums as she prepares Y/N for her sonogram, "That's a very normal way to feel. Tons of parents to-be come in here feeling nervous about finding out. Don't worry, Harry."
He nods, leaning his elbow at the top of the table Y/N's laying on. "And what about if someone's not nervous? Is that normal?"
"Harry," Y/N chides with squinted eyes, "Shut up about it already."
He's grateful that Dr. Ruth is used to their bickering and ignores them. Once she turns the light off so they can see the screen better, the room goes silent — their incessant need to banter is instantly forgotten, three pairs of eyes glued to the sonogram as Dr. Ruth moves the wand around Y/N's lower stomach.
"Alright guys," she murmurs, glancing over to see two eager, expectant faces, "You're having a girl."
An explosion of fireworks sets off in Harry's stomach. He never admitted it to Y/N, but he was hoping for a girl — he'd love and cherish any gender, but there was something about being a dad to a little girl that just got him.
A toothy grin is painted over his face as Dr. Ruth continues to prattle on about the baby's growth. All he catches is that she's looking healthy and everything's great, which is a win in any case. It's only when she turns the lights back on and exits the room to give them privacy that he glances at Y/N, who has tears streaming down her cheeks.
"What's wrong?" he asks, confused. "Were you... were you hoping for a boy?"
Quickly, she shakes her head, raising her hand to haphazardly wipe the tears away.
"N-no. I wasn't... I was fine with anything... but we're having a girl. Harry, we're gonna have a little baby girl."
He realizes then that they're happy tears — something he doesn't think he's ever seen from her before — and he smiles with a nod, gently smoothing her hair back.
"Yeah, we are," he murmurs softly, "Are you happy?"
She nods, "Yes. Yeah. I feel like it's... right, y'know? I don't really buy into fate or any of that shit but something about this... I don't know, it seems good."
"It is good," he agrees, "She'll be the sweetest little angel."
Y/N laughs softly as Harry helps her up. He hands her her leggings and underwear and she makes quick work to pull them up her legs.
"Well, actually, if she's anything like her mumma, she'll be tough and won't put up with anyone's shit. Especially mine."
She rolls her eyes and issues a light smack to his chest, making him laugh.
"Your shit isn't too awful to put up with, by the way," she mumbles as she grabs the scrunchie from her wrist, forming a ponytail with her hair, "We're getting dim sum for lunch now, right?"
He nods. They're quiet as they leave the doctor's office, ever a maze of hallways and elevators, and head down to the parking lot where Harry's parked in one of the expecting parents only spots.
When he glances over at Y/N, who has her hand over her growing bump as always, he resists the urge to tell her that he was only nervous because he wanted her to be happy.
He's so happy they're happy.

You lay in bed, staring up at the ceiling with a void expression on your face. Part of you still hadn’t come to terms with what you were told yesterday. I mean, how the hell had you been gone for five years? All you did was blink. And Natasha, she….she couldn’t be gone. She just couldn’t be. You had been right next to her. And Nat, she's the god damned Black Widow, she can’t just die. That's…that's impossible. Or, it should be. But here you are now, without her by your side. All because a stupid stone needed a sacrifice, and of course Clint couldn’t beat her in a fight. How ironic, you think. This is the only time you've ever wished for her to lose a fight. But of course, it's the most important one she's won.
“Y/n?” Clint's voice calls out, cutting through your thoughts, but you don’t spare him a glance, you can’t. “Look, I know you're angry with me, and believe me, I’m angry too, but dinner is ready and you need to eat. You haven't had a proper meal, and Nat wouldn’t want that.”
“Well, Nats not here, is she?”
His face twists in agony, not that you see it though, your eyes are still glued to the ceiling, “No, she isn’t. But that doesn’t mean you can just give up”
“Why not? She was my world, Clint. My whole damn world, and now she's not here and I’m just expected to carry on?” you angrily ask as tears once again cloud your vision
“I know she was, and of course you're allowed to grieve and process all that we- that you lost. But, you can’t just sit here and rot away, not when she always wanted so much for you. And not when Yelena is out there somewhere desperately trying to get in touch with a sister who will never respond. She needs closure.”
“And I don’t?!” you shout, finally looking at him, “You think knowing what she died for, knowing I missed out on five years with her, and knowing that I’ll never be able to see her face again, hear her laugh, be the cause of her smile, or get to fucking say goodbye and I love her gives me closure?!”
   “I’m sorry”
“No, you don’t get to be sorry, Clint! You don’t get to, because she deemed you important enough to die for, and your fucking family is all here, waiting for you at home! Mines gone! At the bottom of some damned magical cliff in space!” you shout, gaining the attention of some of the other heroes
“Y/n” Sam says, brushing past Clint in your doorway to offer you support
“He doesn’t get to be sorry, Sam! He's here, and she's not!”
“I know sweetheart, I know” he soothes, grabbing ahold of your shoulders
“He won’t even go home to the family he so desperately wanted back! Instead he just mopes around here feeling guilty while he continuously talks to me and tries to give me care that I don't want or need!”
Deep down, you knew it was unfair to be saying these things about Clint, and to him. After all, he had lost Nat too and had even had to witness it. And he was only trying to care for you because he knew how much you mattered to his best friend and that she would want you looked out for. But right now, you can't think that rationally. Because all you see when you look at him, is her. They were a matching set, so when you see him alone, all you feel is anger at the unfairness of it all. Which unfortunately, has you lashing out at the already guilt ridden archer
“Y/n, he's just trying to do what he can” Sam interjects, trying to calm your misplaced rage, but Clint lifts his hands up
“It’s fine Sam. She has every right to be angry, and she's right. I should go home. She doesn’t need me as a constant reminder looming over her.” the defeated man admits before sulking off to his room, likely to begin packing
You stand there a moment next to Sam, letting him rub your shoulder to offer what little comfort he can. He doesn’t say anything, partially because what could he possibly say that could take this pain from you, and partially because he knows that you regret how you just treated Clint
“She admired you, you know” you say, breaking the silence
  “Who? Me?”
You can’t help but smile at his state of surprise, “Yes, you. Right from the start you showed your bravery and you were always her ally. Even during the accords when everyone didn’t see eye to eye, everyone was still her family”
“She was mine too. I regret not telling her how much I looked up to her, not just Steve.”
“She knew” you admit, smiling at him sadly, “She never felt deserving of it, but she knew”
Before the two of you can reminisce any further, there's a knock on your doorframe, and the super soldiers body comes into view “Hey guys”
“Hey Bucky” you reply, giving him a halfhearted smile. The poor guy looks almost as bad off as you
“Steves just about ready to leave if you guys want to, you know, say goodbye”
You both nod and your stomach tightens in knots. How unfair that you were given a chance to say goodbye to a teammate but not the woman you loved. Fate really was cruel. Before you knew it, you were out at the time travel pad with Bruce, Steve, Sam and Bucky. Bruce gives you a look of sorrow, and you hate it. You hate that he knows exactly how you're feeling because at one point he cared about her too even if she didn’t return the feelings
“You know, I tried” he says, “When I had the gauntlet, the stones, I really tried to bring her back”
You nod in appreciation as your eyes fill with tears, and you try your best to blink them away, not wanting to once again break down in front of them. Eventually after some rather short but sweet words between Steve Bucky and Sam, he picks up the briefcase with the stones and heads for the pad. Bruce gives him specific instructions for returning them as Steve gets in the center of the pad next to Mojlnir and activates his quantum suit.
“How long is this gonna take?” Sam asks, glancing over to Bruce
“For him, as long as he needs. For us, five seconds” The machine powers up, the hammer, “Ready Cap? Okay, we’ll meet you back here, alright?”
   “You bet”
“Three….Two…One” he counts down and the four of you watch Steve disappear into the past, “Returning in, five…four…three…two…one”
Nothing happens and Bruce frantically checks over the equipment. You nervously shift on your feet as Sam looks over at the scientist, “Where is he?”
Bruce can only shake his head, “I don’t know. He should be here”
   “Well get him back!”
   “I’m trying!”
“Get him the hell back!” Sam shouts even louder this time, losing what little calm he had
“Hey, I said I’m trying!” he replies, pressing a few buttons
But as they argue, Bucky notices an old man on a bench nearby, and in his heart of hearts, he knows it's Steve, “Hey Sam!”
Both men walk in that direction, leaving both you and the big green guy alone at the pad. You think you realize what's happening, and you're about to tell Bruce not to bother with the machine, that there's no one to bring back, when suddenly it proves you wrong by humming to life
Someone appears in the middle of it then, and they stumble forward. You can tell by the size of the figure that it's definitely not Steve, which you knew, but the helmet of the quantum suit stops you from being able to tell who it actually is. Whoever it is then reaches up to take off the helmet, and when long red tresses fall out, you can practically feel your heart stop. The woman looks up then, to see where she was, and is met with your distraught tear stained face. A face she's longed to see, hold and kiss for five years now.
“Y/n?” she asks, barley above a whisper as her own tears fall down her cheeks
   Your bottom lip trembles, “Natty?”
“Oh, moya lyubov'(my love)” she exclaims, rushing over to envelope you in her arms. You don't even care that they’re almost crushing you, “I missed you so much. I never thought I’d see you again”
You sob against her, clutching onto her suit with all your strength, “You never thought you’d see me?! Tasha, I never thought I’d see you! I came back after what only felt like five seconds and the whole world was different and you…you were gone”
   “I’m sorry, I just couldn’t let Clint-  ”
“Why? God, Nat, I don’t want the man dead either, but if there was ever a time for you to be selfish, that would have been it!” you exclaim, slightly frustrated with her, “I mean did you even think of me? Of Yelena? What we’d do without you? How your absence would kill us?”
“Of course I did detka(baby), but someone had to go”
You sigh, “And why must that someone always be you? Why can’t you see that you are just as important as anyone else, that you matter to someone too?”
   “I just….the things I've done…”
“Don’t matter anymore, Natasha! You wiped your ledger clean years ago, either in the Battle of New York or the Battle of Sokovia. You have nothing to atone for, and your family needs you, I need you. So please, I am begging you, never ever do something like that again.” you plead, cupping her face, “Because, while I’m sure five years without me was terrible, I can’t do forever without you. I can’t. Please don’t ask me to”
She surges forward, unable to stop herself from kissing the lips she's longed for, for so long. You happily indulge her in this, kissing back with a ferocity that conveyed all your emotions, from love to anger and sorrow. Eventually she pulls away from your lips, but keeps you close
“You're right, I could stand to be a bit more selfish at times. I’m sorry I put you through that, Y/n. It won’t happen again, I promise. And I'm here now, ok? I’m right here”
You nod, and hug her again, silently thanking all the gods in existence that somehow, someway, the woman you loved had been able to find her way back to you.

I NEED A FIC WHERE READER GETS HURT DURING RHEAS MATCH AT RINGSIDE AND DOM GETS ALL PROTECTIVE AND STUFF
care for me.
dominik mysterio x fem! reader
summary: getting injured was the worst thing that could’ve possibly happened to you at this stage in your career. dealing with the injury alone was impossible, you needed to let someone care for you. he was that someone.
A/N: this oness longgg😭😭 I got carried away guys I’m sorry😔 and I also kinda don’t like this but yea, I changed it a bit so I’m sorry if it’s not what you were looking for😔😔.
Tumblr media
you were about to preform your finisher, a corkscrew senton from off the top rope. you had practiced it countless times and knew that you could pull it off, but it was still nerve-wracking every time. as you looked around at the crowd, the cheers and chants grew louder and more intense, urging you on. you could feel their energy coursing through you, giving you the strength and courage to take the leap.
as asuka rose to her feet, so did you. spotting a gap, you launched into a flip. but as you were about to collide with asuka, she sidestepped. you feet hit the ground with a jolt, a sharp cry escaping you as pain spiked through your right leg.
you crumpled to the floor, gripping your leg tightly, tears streaming down from the intense pain. the referee rushed over, bombarding you with a flurry of questions.
"are you okay?" overwhelmed, you could only respond with your actions, nodding before your voice could catch up. "can you continue the match?" once more, you managed to nod in, despite knowing you should've told him to end the match and acknowledged the pain, you stayed silent.
the referee stepped away, and asuka approached you, yanking you up by your hair hair before shoving you down. you winced, your hand instinctively reaching for your leg. she then snatched your leg away from you and delivered a kick that had you crying in pain.
she kicked your leg again, before locking it into a single leg boston crab. the pain was unbearable, and you found yourself tapping out frantically, your screams echoing in the air.
tears streamed down your face as you pleaded for her to stop. the referee quickly intervened, in an attempt to get her to cease the hold.
"get her off! get her off!" you pleaded with the referee, screaming for him to help you. finally, he managed to separate her from you, but the damage had already been done.
as asuka dancing around to her music, you gripped your hurt leg, tears streaming down. the ref assisted you to sit up, bombarding you with questions that your mind just couldn’t comprehend.
overwhelmed by the pain in your leg, the cheers, and the barrage of questions from the referees, “I can’t move it!” you cried out in frustration, “I can’t move it!!”
"listen," the ref urged, your sobs hushing as you looked at him. "we gotta take you to the medics."
"get dominik, please," you pleaded, your tears subsiding as you covered your face.
"I understand, but we need to get you medical attention first." the referee said, then another ref arrived, both assisting you to your feet.
they supported you out of the ring and onto the floor, your right leg lifted to avoid touching the ground. the audience applauded as you slowly but surely headed backstage.
when you guys reached the medical, the carefully set on the exam table, a wince escaping you as you shifted for comfort. “someone please get dom.” you told them as more tears escaped your eyes.
———
dom was backstage, eyes glued to your match. you were putting up a good fight. he watched as you climbed the ropes, hitting your chest, before doing the shoulder shimmy with your tongue out, paying homage to the late great eddie guerrero.
a soft chuckle escaped him, totally amused. he watched you launch off the ropes, fully expecting to land the move and put asuka away.
as soon as he saw her dodge and your legs buckle beneath you, crashing to the mat, he sensed something was wrong.
he straightened up, hand going to cover his mouth, worry washing over him as the cameras zoomed in on you, clutching your leg.
the camera caught the tears that were streaming down your face while the ref bombarded you with questions. dom glanced at damian beside him, both of them etched with worry.
turning back to the match, dom’s heart was racing.
dom saw the agony in your expression, but you gave a nod, and the ref backed off – he knew you were stubborn and were gonna be set on finishing the match. "what are you doing, amor," he muttered under his breath, cracking his knuckles nervously.
he felt totally powerless watching the attack . asuka approached, yanked you by the hair, and slammed you down.
watching her go after your injured leg, dom felt the anger boiling up inside. she was being ruthless on purpose.
he knew the industry – it's all about the win at the end of the day. but there's also an unspoken rule about keeping it safe enough so no one gets seriously hurt in the ring.
dom’s face twisted in a wince as he saw her strike your leg once more, locking in a single leg boston crab. your cries of pain pierced the air while you tapped out desperately.
the bell rung signaling the match's end, but asuka wouldn't release you. dom could hear your pleas on the TV, begging her to stop. his anger surged as the ref had to pry asuka away from you.
she showed no concern, just preoccupied with her win. dom watched, tense, as the refs swarmed to your side.
“what the fuck was that?" he muttered, taking a deep breath to mask his anger.
damian gave his shoulder a reassuring pat, "go check on her, I'll fill in the others." with a nod, dominkk acknowledged as damian left.
he glanced at the screen, shutting his eyes briefly at the sound of your distress. risinv swiftly, he left the screen behind, urgency driving him as he hurried to find you.
———
In the medical room, joseph, the medic was trying to talk to you, "we need to start checking out your leg to see what's wrong."
you shook your head, tears streaming down. "no, I'm waiting for dominik."
"but—“
"where the hell is he?" you snapped, the words coming out sharper than intended, pain and frustration getting the better of you.
"where is she—?" he stopped mid-sentence as he spotted you and stepped inside. "what happened? are you alright?" dom asked, just having come into the room. he moved closer, gently cradling your face and planting a kiss on your forehead.
feeling his presence, you eased up. "finally."
even with the comfort of his presence, you couldn't help but start to fall apart. he wrapped you up carefully in a soft hug, mindful not to cause you any more pain.
tears streamed down as you clung to him. "It's fucking hurts, dom. It hurts really bad," you wept, squeezing your eyes shut, the agony in your leg overwhelming.
his expression shifted to deep worry at your sobs. gently, he eased back, cradling your face in his hands, coaxing you to meet his gaze. "hey, look at me, please, look at me."
opening your eyes, you met his gaze, a frown etched on your face from the pain. you wished you could just vanish into thin air. your crying softened as you looked at him.
tears welled up again, the timing couldn't be worse—you were at the height of your career, and an injury was the last thing you needed. you attempted to steady yourself, but the mix of pain and stress was starting to wear on you.
he was worried for you, and felt how broken you felt. he felt powerless and wanted to do more to ease your pain. he spoke reassuringly, “you’re going to make it through this, just hold on. I'm right here with you, and everything's going to be alright." you nodded, brushing away your tears.
yet, new tears found their way down your cheeks.
joseph spoke up, addressing dom, "she refused any examination until you got here." Instead of scolding you, dom simply took your hand in his, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
you squeezed back, feeling utterly shattered inside—this injury was a nightmare come to life.
with that, joseph set to work, conducting the necessary tests on your leg. it wasn’t long before he returned with the results. you glanced up at him, your eyes pleading for him to tell you good news, as anxiety knotted your insides.
he gave you a sympathetic look, bracing to deliver the difficult truth. "I'll be honest with you, y/n. and there’s just no easy way to put this, but It's a torn ACL and meniscus."
you bit your lip, holding back the tears. the room was silent until he spoke again. "you probably know a bit about this injury," you nodded. he took a seat on the bed across from you.
"given the severity of your injury, it won't heal by itself. surgery is necessary. It's less common to have a meniscus tear alongside an ACL tear."
"post-surgery, you'll need plenty of rest. then we'll have you gradually start rehab to build strength and mobility in your leg."
you held onto dom’s hand tightly. "how long am I gonna be out?" you murmured.
"you might be out for 6-9 months, maybe a year in the worst-case scenario. It all hinges on how well rehab goes and your recovery process. we've got to be thorough to ensure your leg is back to its best."
a feeling of disappointment hit you. "a year?" you said softly, barely above a whisper.
"It's not a guarantee you’ll be out that long," he reassured, and you nodded faintly. "but we have to be realistic—it's a pretty long recovery," he continued.
you nodded again, masking your emotions. "I'm going to review the other tests we did on your leg. I'll talk to your doctors and we can go over your next steps when I return," joseph said, then left, leaving you and dom in a quiet bubble. the two of you just sat there, enveloped in the stillness.
dom could tell you were reeling from the news, respecting your space and thoughts. he quietly held your hand, providing a comfort while you processed everything.
he couldn't do much, but his support was clear. he believed in you, confident that you'd get through this.
meeting your gaze, dom spoke up his voice steady. "you’ve been through a lot, y/n/n, and you have always made it through. this is just another hurdle. you’ll get past this one too. everything’s going to be okay."
at his reassuring words, the dam burst, and tears cascaded down your cheeks, your hand muffling the sobs.
dom wrapped you in another tight embrace, tenderly wiping your tears and cradling you as you wept. he stroked your back, trying to ease your pain with his comforting touch.
"shhhhh baby, it's gonna be okay. you're gonna be okay." dom whispered, his voice soothing.
"It's just... this has been my dream since I was a kid," you managed to say between shaky breaths, struggling to steady your voice. "I’m at this huge part of my career, a part where-" your words were swallowed by sobs.
your tears began to subside, replaced by soft sniffles. "I'm at this point in my career, where I’m the top—" you paused as tears continued to fall, and you let out a sigh, gazing upwards. "I'm at the top, everything's going great, and now I have this injury and-."
"hey," dom interjected gently, halting your rush of words. he wasn't trying to downplay your feelings, but he wanted to make sure you understood this wasn't the end. his hands cradled your face, guiding your gaze to meet his with kindness.
“I know, I know. but this isn't the end. the last thing I want is for you to believe that all your hard work and dedication is going to waste." you sighed looking up, you knew he was right. but it just felt so hard to come to term with it at this moment.
———
a few weeks later
resting in the hospital bed with nurses bustling around, prepping for surgery, you glanced at dominik, a wave of nerves hitting you. yet you felt a little more secure knowing you had the best surgeons on your service.
dominik leaned in close, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze, whispering just for you, "you'll be okay. they'll take care of you, mi vida."
his gentle voice enveloped you in a blanket of security. "I know, I'm just a bit nervous," you replied with a faint smile.
he kept his hold on your hand, his thumb gently caressing the back of it. "you shouldn't be," he murmured, "there’s no reason to be nervous, I’m gonna be right here until you get out and your parents are on the way, everything will be okay."
the nurses signaled it was time for surgery, he stepped back, leaving a soft kiss on your forehead, leaving you with the lingering sense of his comforting warmth.
"I'll be right here," he whispered, giving your hand another squeeze, "te amo."
"I love you too," you responded, feeling his kiss on your forehead followed by a tender kiss on your lips. the nurses began to wheel you away to the operating room, where the stark brightness of the hospital lights was the last thing you saw.
———
your eyes gradually open, the glaring lights making you squint. glancing around, you spot dominik beside you, his thumb soothingly stroking your hand.
gazing at your leg, you notice the brace snugly fitted and bandages beneath it. the beep of monitors fills the air, and a chill from the hospital room wraps around you.
"hey," dominik's voice is a gentle whisper, "how are you feeling?" his hand gives yours a reassuring squeeze. "don't worry, mi vida, everything went well."
"hey," your voice comes out a bit rough, but you manage a soft smile in response.
"are you okay?" he murmurs, concern flickering across his face as he hears the rasp in your voice. he glances at the monitors, checking they're all reading normal, then turns back to you. "are you thirsty?" he asks gently, his eyes filled with care.
you nodded, he grabbed a big jug of water from your bedside table. he grabs the straw, holding it up to your mouth and helping you take a sip of water. you realize how thirsty you were, you drank quickly taking a few sips to quench your thirst.
“better?” he asked, putting the jug down you were done drinking water, you nodded.
suddenly, your gaze moves to the chairs in the room, you see your parents you smile. "mom, dad," you greet them with a gentle yet happy tone. they approach, your dad planting a soft kiss on your forehead while your mom takes your hand in hers.
dominik watches closely as you interact with your parents, he watches them both interact with you with such affection, he can see your face light up when you see them.
he observes the tender scene for a moment, then turns to you with a small, smile. "how are you feeling honey?" your mom asked.
catching her question, you respond, "I'm okay, just a bit sore," your voice scratchy from not talking.
"I’m going to go tell the doctors you woke up." dominik announces before he leans in, whispering, "back in a sec," and plants a gentle kiss on your cheek before exiting the room.
a smile lingers on your face as you turn to your parents. noticing their exchange of smiles, you ask, "what?" with a hint of curiosity.
your mom gently sweeps your hair aside. "he hasn't left your side since you got back from surgery," she shares.
"how long was I asleep?" you asked curiously.
after a brief pause, she calculates, "the surgery took roughly 2 and a half hours, and you've been resting for about three hours since. so, around five hours, more or less."
Surprised, you say, "he didn't get up once? not even for food or like to use the bathroom?"
with an amused look, your mom replies, "nope, he refused to leave your side, I tried to tell him to go take a break but he wouldn't leave. he insisted on staying."
as you reflect on it, butterflies flutter in your stomach. It's reassuring to know he stayed by your side, just as he promised.
you briefly close your eyes, "you tired?" she asked, you nod, allowing your parents to have their own conversation, a mix of worry and relief for your well-being.
a few minutes pass, before the door swings open, and dominik enters to the room. you stir awake at the sound of the door opening and closing.
he greets you with a warm smile, gently caressing your hand and planting sweet kisses on your forehead.
you smile back, and right on cue, dr. smith enters the room. your parents step aside, allowing the doctor to check the monitor next to you, ensuring that everything is running smoothly and your vitals are stable.
dominik stepped back to give the doctors space to examine you.
after the doctor finished up examining you, the looked at you, "your surgery was successful, and we've reconstructed your ACL and meniscus." you glance at your leg propped up on a hospital pillow and nod. "we’ll keep you here for a night or two to monitor your healing progress before deciding on the next steps."
"okay," you said a polite smile on your face as the doctor excused himself and left the room.
your parents embraced you warmly, your dad planting a gentle kiss on your forehead, before they headed out to the cafeteria. you mom told dom to call them if there was any problem or if you needed them.
dominik watches your family leave the room, leaving it completely quiet and still inside, he turns to you, “you alright, amor?” he whispers.
your eyelids were heavy as you murmured, "yeah, I'm good."
a gentle smile crossed dominik's face, noticing how tired you were. he tenderly swept a stray hair from your forehead. "want to get some more sleep?" he asked quietly.
with your eyes closed, you replied, "no, I just need to rest my eyes for a little while."
understanding, dom reached for his phone to update rhea and the rest of the judgment day, letting them know you were awake and all was well.
"rhea and everyone was pretty worried—" dom’s words trailed off as he glanced back to find you already dozing off, gentle snores escaping you.
he gave a tender smile and then did what he knew would be best for you right then. He took the blanket from the foot of your bed, draped it over you, and after positioning a chair near your bedside, he sat down to stay close.
———
as your blinked your eyes open, the room glowed with the soft light of early morning. near your bed, dominik was eating.
"good morning," you said, a sleepy smile on your face as you rubbed the sleep from your eyes.
dominik caught your voice, glancing your way, before flashing a smile. "morning, baby," he greeted, leaning in to plant a kiss on your forehead. the subtle, soothing scent of his cologne filled the air, calming you down.
"you grabbed some food?" you asked, your stomach rumbling a bit.
"no, rhea and damian dropped it off. they were going to stay till you woke up, but had to catch a flight to the next show," he explained, and you nodded, totally getting it. he motioned to his meal that looked like it came from the dunkin' donuts nearby. "they got something for you too," he said, sliding over with your food in hand.
"they also got your favorite coffee," he mentioned, pulling up a chair. “do you wanna eat now or later?”
"definitely now," you replied, your hunger making itself known loud and clear.
dominik gave a nod and set the food on the hospital bed tray before you. "everything feeling okay? any pain?" he asked gently, his eyes following you as you started to eat.
you shook your head, mouth full of food, swallowing it before you spoke, "just sore, so it's a bit uncomfortable."
he smiled, seeing how eagerly you were eating. "looks like you're enjoying breakfast.”
"mhmm, it's really good," you managed to say between bites.
"don’t worry when we get out of here, I’ll take you to get dunkin again." he chuckled, amused by your enthusiastic eating.
"please do," you agreed, slowing down a bit. you set the sandwich down, still chewing, as you looked at him.
"you’re the cutest when you eat, you know that?" he murmured with a soft smile, then took a bite of his own sandwich.
you gave a playful eye roll in response. "how's that even cute?" you chuckled, questioning the logic.
"I can't explain it," he chuckled, "you just remind me of a baby dinosaur." he laughed, taking a sip of his coffee.
you burst out laughing. he beams at you. "you don't think so?" he teased, and you just smiled, taking another bite.
you caught him looking your way again before he gently asked, "everything taste okay?"
"yeah, it's perfect, thanks.”
"good," he smiled, then took another bite of his food. “I can’t wait till we get you home,” he said, eyes flicking up to you as he continued eating.
you finished off your sandwich, murmuring, "me too." after wiping your hands, you reached out for his.
he set his sandwich aside and took your hand, fingers intertwining. the warmth from his hand infused into yours.
a small smile played on his lips as he looked at you, "thank you," you said to him.
he glanced at your interlocked hands, noting the size difference with a smile. "of course," he responded gently, appreciating the closeness.
he brought your hand up placing a gentle kiss on it, before giving it a reassuring squeeze, “no seriously, for everything.”
he was silent for a bit. "you don't need to thank me for being there and caring about you." his grip on your hand tightened gently. "I wouldn't want it any other way."
looking at you, his eyes brimmed with fondness. "te amo," he said gently, content to remain just like that for eternity.
"I love you too," you replied with a playful pause, "If you really love me, you'll let me have a sip of your coffee."
he chuckled quietly, "i guess." he said sarcastically after taking a quick sip, you hit his arm lightly as he lifted the cup to your lips for you to drink. It was pleasantly warm and delicious.
"thanks, babe."
with a grin, he replied, "anytime, amor,"

Arranged Masterlist

The sudden rush of wind blew the bottom of my dress but I paid no mind to it, the cold breeze having no effect on my already frozen stature. My broken eyes were glued to the large hole in the ground where a two person casket had just been lowered, now filling up with dirt. The men on both sides of me stood with their arms crossed at their hips, not bothering to utter a word. Even if the funeral had ended some time ago, they knew that it wasn’t the time to leave.
Bucky spared no expense, giving my parents the best funeral they could ever imagine. All of their friends and family came out, some shocked that I had gotten married, especially since it wasn’t known that I was even dating anyone. A quick lie of ‘we kept it quiet for so long, that's why’ seemed to suffice.
I don’t know how I would have made it without Bucky by my side. He was there for me this past week more than I could have ever thanked him for. He put the majority of his meetings on hold so he could be with me, giving me whatever I needed.
The night I received the news was the first night Bucky and I shared a bed. I was broken and Bucky was afraid to leave me so he stayed with me that night, holding me in his arms until I fell asleep. The next night I found myself crawling into his bed when the nightmares began, thinking of how my parents died, and Bucky quickly wrapped me up into his embrace.
That was the last night we slept separate, opting to fully move into Bucky’s room.
It had been a week with zero updates from the detectives. There was no fingerprints, DNA, or any sort of evidence left behind.
“Whoever this person was, they knew what they were doing.” Detective Roth’s words kept replaying in my head.
Up until now, I had been upset and broken about losing my parents, especially after the last conversation I had with them. But now I was pissed, angry, and ready to figure out things on my own. I thought about asking Bucky, him having connections that I would need, but I didn’t want him knowing what I was up to. If he did, he would force me to stop.
“Doll?”
I hummed, still not able to form words, but kept my eyes glued to the ground below. Bucky sighed and linked out fingers together, the vibranium of his wedding band pressed into my skin. He decided to wear it on his right hand, mentioning something about having enough vibranium on his left. Bucky made that joke a few days ago, in hopes of it cheering me up.
It didn't.
“Y/N,” he pressed again. “They’re done.”
I blinked, shifting back to reality, and looked up towards Bucky. He’s had the same look plastered over his face the last week; sorrow. I told him countless times to stop giving me that look, I didn’t need him to feel sorry for me anymore.
Which is exactly what I told him now.
“Stop giving me that look, Bucky. I’ve been getting it all day and I’m so fucking tired of seeing it,” I sighed.
Bucky nodded then wrapped an arm around me to pull me into his chest. “Sorry. Let’s get you back home then.”
With my own arms wrapped around Bucky’s back, I looked over towards the other man that stood next to me all day.
“Are you coming back with us, Steve?”
The blonde shook his head. “I’ve got some errands to run but I’ll be there tomorrow.”
Besides Bucky, Steve had been there in my mourning and grief stricken state, a shoulder to cry on when Bucky had to step out for some kind of business.
“I’m guessing it's back to business,” I looked up towards Bucky.
He answered my question with a soft kiss to my lips. “I’m sorry, doll.”
I shrugged, letting him know I didn’t mind. Only because I had been planning on running a couple errands myself and the only way I would be able to do that was if both Bucky and Steve were preoccupied.
Tumblr media
Soft snores sounded behind me as I traced the gold bands of Bucky’s vibranium arm while he slept. His bare chest pressed against my back worked like a personal heater, warming me the second we laid down together. Our feet were intertwined together at the end of the bed, and I knew when he began to twitch that I would be safe to sneak away.
Steve and him had been busy all day in the office with meetings working like a revolving door. I didn’t see who was coming or going because I had been in bed all day. Bucky thought I needed more alone time to mourn but I was doing the opposite.
I spent the majority of the day on my laptop and phone trying to chase down any leads I could in my parents murder; where they spent their last moments before coming home and who saw them that night.
It was all dead ends until I remembered someone who could help me in getting the answers I wanted. As much as I didn’t want to or the fact that Bucky told me to stay away, I needed his help. He had connections in law enforcement that I didn't.
It was almost midnight and he said that he would text me soon with an address of someone that remembers seeing my parents an hour before the murder.
Turning over in Bucky’s embrace, I watched him for a moment. His eyes moving underneath its lids, snores coming from his parted lips, and his messy hair falling into his face. Under the moonlight breaking in from the window, he looked so peaceful and divine.
I brushed the hair out of his face and laid a soft kiss on his cheek, the growing beard scratching my lips. His grip tightened while he buried his face deeper into my neck, leaving his own kiss. Guilt filled me knowing that I had gone against his word and was lying to him but I knew that this was what I had to do.
My phone buzzed on the table behind me and I did my best to reach for it in hopes of not waking Bucky.
21412 Longview Lane. 30 minutes-J.W.
“Who is it?” Bucky grumbled into the back of my neck.
Shit.
“Just another friend of my parents sending their condolences,” I lied while snuggling closer towards him.
“At midnight?” His half lidded eyes looked at the clock.
I smiled at his sleepy voice and nodded. “Late bird I guess.”
Bucky hummed before rolling towards the other side of the bed and when his back was turned, I placed a few kisses down his spine.
“I can’t sleep so I’m going to go downstairs and make some tea.”
With his grumble of words as a response, I knew this was the only chance I would get to sneak away for a bit.
Tumblr media
I rubbed the red mark on my wrist with a grimace towards the guard who opened the metal door in front of me, a loud buzzer sounding throughout the building. As I walked through the long hallway, I tried to mentally prepare myself for the fight that was about to ensue the second we got into the car.
What I had just gone through the last two hours paled in comparison to the man that was waiting in the lobby. I wished they would have called anyone else but since he was my husband, they had to call Bucky.
My tired glance landed on Bucky who was leaning against the front desk, an angry scowl on his face. The cop next to him handed him all of my personal belongings and he took them without saying a word.
“Hi,” I muttered once I was in front of him.
Bucky kept his hardened face before linking our hands together and somewhat nicely dragged me to the car. The twenty-minute drive home was complete silence, the only thing that could be heard in the small confinement was Bucky’s heavy breathing. He had been gripping the steering wheel so tight that his flesh knuckles had gone white.
The car eased up the drive and once he was parked in front of the house, I made a quick dash inside, hoping to avoid whatever conversation that was about to ensue.
“Arrested, Y/N? Are you fucking serious?!” Bucky’s voice boomed as he slammed the front door shut.
The sudden raise in his voice caused me to jump slightly and I turned on the staircase where I had only made it to the third step.
“It was stupid. The cop only arrested me because I'm married to you. He wanted to make a point by arresting New Yorks most feared mob boss' wife,” I shrugged.
Bucky pinched his eyes in annoyance. “What the hell were you doing trespassing on someone's property across town in the middle of the  night? Do you know how dangerous that was, especially because Steve or I weren’t with you.”
“I wasn’t alone,” I defend.
HIs shoulders went rigid. “John Walker? Really? Have you lost your fucking mind?”
I sliced him in half with my gaze. “I know what I’m doing, Bucky.”
“Did you forget what I told you about Walker?” He asked.
“I didn’t have a choice, Bucky. He’s the only one that can help me!” My voice was now raised, anger mixed with annoyance.
His brow raised in confusion. “With what? Breaking into someone's house?”
I hesitated, unsure if I should tell him the truth. He could see the way I resisted and I’m sure he could hear my heart hammered hard against my chest. Sweat began to form in my palms so I wiped them on my pants before taking a deep breath.
“I’ve, uh, been looking into my parents murder,'' I stuttered.
Bucky’s eyes softened. “Why, doll?”
“Because no one has had any answers! It’s been over a week and nothing!” I snapped. “If the cops won’t do anything then I will!”
“And you go to Walker for help?”
The hurt in Bucky’s voice didn’t go undetected and my heart dropped, realizing that maybe I should have gone to him in the first place; could have avoided an arrest charge.
“The John that I know is different from the one you do, Bucky. There was a point in my life where he would have done anything for me,” I defended my choice.
“You knew him, Y/N. He’s not the same anymore,” Bucky responded with a flat tone.
“How do you know?” I curled a brow. “Oh that’s right, you won’t tell me because it’s on the list of ‘secrets to keep from Y/N.”
I turned on my heels, ready to end this conversation, but Bucky followed close behind as I made my way to our room.
“You need to end this whole pretend cop nonsense.” Bucky said while shedding himself of his leather jacket, tossing it onto the couch in our room.
I chuckled dryly. “Haven’t you learned that you can’t tell me what to do?”
Bucky stepped in front of me as I tried to slip away from him into the bathroom.
“This is serious shit, doll. You can end up hurt or worse.”
I raised a finger to him. “I won’t stop until my parents' murders are either caught or dead. If I get hurt in the process, who cares.”
Bucky’s face fell. “Don’t say that.”
I shrugged. “You mean to tell me that you would be hurt if something happened to me? Bucky, this marriage was built on an arrangement between you and my parents. They’re dead so you can consider yourself off the hook.”
“Y/N,” Bucky’s voice cracked.
I ran a hand through my hair. “Look, I'm exhausted and just want to go to sleep. We’ll figure everything out tomorrow morning.”
I didn’t bother giving him time to respond as I slipped into the bathroom and locked the door behind me.

summary: it's been months since you broke up, but today out of all days, your ex ellie calls you and leaves a message, asking you to come and you do come over for... closure of course.
"Shit..." Ellie groans low, her body leaned against the door frame. You can't help but notice her well defined arm and shoulder muscles, but you need to focus, this is not what you're here for.
"You called me?" You try to sound calm, collected even, but your eyes won't stop wandering. Just once you tell yourself, the other is too drunk to notice anyway.
Her green eyes and her cold gaze, you miss how her eyes softened when she laid them upon you. You miss the way it felt when she kissed you ever so slowly, knowing that it made you crazy and leaving you ache for more. For god's sake, how were you going to focus on talking to her when she has a black tank top on? You're head is starting to spin, you're still standing in front of Ellie's open door.
"Let's sit down..." You suggest, while Ellie hasn't said a single word this entire time since you arrived. The light is dimmed, liquor standing on her low table, her bed unmade.
Still, you missed Ellie's scent. She still uses that body lotion you bought her because you convinced her it would do her tattoos good.
Sweet orange and cedar wood.
After nostalgia, realisation always hits the hardest. You sit down on her bed, Ellie sits down beside you, her body sinking heavy.
Legs spread far apart, her forearms rest on top of her lap. Ellie hasn't dared to glance at you once this whole time, and 15 minutes have passed already in complete silence. She then sighs and throws her head back with her eyes, barely open, glued to the ceiling.
"Fuck this, I thought maybe callin' you up would fix things right now," she says, words slurred, but the way she expresses herself is long engraved within yourself. You look to the left, there where she sits. Inhaling sharply, you observe Ellie fiddling with her hands. This is bad.
"Ellie, I had things to take care of," the words leave your lips with a bitter taste. You just couldn't tell Ellie that she was not capable of dealing, no, not even listening to your problems and you tried so often.
"What things?" she asks, still not looking at you.
"I have a lot on my mind, I don't think..." You stop yourself. Ellie is long gone, she won't be able to comprehend this, you will just waste your energy.
It took Ellie a few seconds, but suddenly her body shifts towards you. Her eyes look for yours as they fill with something you can't recognise yet.
"No, not this again," she says under her breath. You're confused and Ellie picks it up, you didn't expect her to be this attentive.
"Things are so different now, you should see me now, you just stopped talking to me," she says, her voice full of fury and hurt.
"Fuck, you didn't even give me a chance," she mutters. A sudden wave of guilt overcame you and your narrative of what happened between the two of you starts to waver. But before you could even start questioning what you believed this whole time, you feel Ellie's presence distancing. In surprise, you look up, your eyes following her closely. You watch her approach the kitchen counter, her back facing you. She towers over the kitchen sink, her arms slightly angled. You can hear her take deep breaths as she turns around, you're no longer facing her back.
Now it's you and her, a few meters apart, face to face. Ellie is leaned back against the sink while her arms are crossed.
You've never seen her eyes this cold, this hurt before. She tilts her head slightly, observing you, her eyes scanning you up and down.
"Listen," Ellie says.
You look up, obviously shaken and when did Ellie sober up? Too many questions, too many thoughts, you're overwhelmed by this whole situation.
"Only once in this whole fucking relationship you decided to open up, okay?" Her eyes are shut closely, she seems to be in pain. And yes, she is in fact, in a lot of pain. Ellie's head started to ache a few hours ago, she didn't have any medicine left so she decided to go to sleep but couldn't after all. And to top it off, Ellie started thinking of you, what else was she supposed to do? Not drunk call her ex?
"And when you did, we both were fucking high," she continues, her voice still dangerously low. You can't move, you feel like you've been chained to the bed you are sitting on. That's when you realise, maybe, but just maybe she is right. But you don't want to believe that you're in the wrong, you hate admitting that you're wrong and unreasonable.
"Shit, and I even asked you if you left because of that night..." her words start to waver. This is when you decide that you're no longer an inanimate object, but in fact a living person. You stand up and walk up towards Ellie. Not close, but probably too close for exes. You've been silent this whole time because, and god you hate to admit this, Ellie was right. The only time you did open up was when the two of you were high and she said things you totally did not want to hear. And so you decided to tell your friends, never the whole story though and they all told you that you deserve better, you should leave.
"Don't look at me like this," Ellie says while looking down at you. You're so close to her, you can smell the alcohol mixed with her scent. The way she talks makes you weak but again, this is not the time to feel this way.
"I don't even know why I came," You finally say, barely audible.
"Because you missed me," Ellie responds, her eyes finally softening, in a way they would only for you.
"I hate you, don't do this to me, please," You say as tears fill your eyes. Why were you so impressionable? But you were so sure you're friends were right, Ellie can't handle you. Your thoughts halt for a moment as you feel Ellie's hand palms cup your face, her thumbs resting on your cheeks. You make eye contact, her eyes carefully watching you.
"How often do I need to tell you that I am there for you, I am here, never going anywhere," she whispers. When did the distance close between the two of you? You can feel her chest against yours, while the dimmed light barely illuminates Ellie's face or yours.
"You have to stop looking at me with those eyes," You say, desperately trying to stand your ground. Ellie tilts her head, you can feel her breath on your neck.
"What eyes, love?" Ellie responds, her hands gliding over the sides of your body all the way down to your waist, keeping her hands there. Her hands hold you firmly, pulling you closer by your waist.
You know you should leave now, but your body just won't move, and your heart yearns to stay.
"Don't call me love," Is all you can think of, your hands on top of hers, trying to get her away from your body.
"Give me one more chance, let me prove myself, please." Ellie says, her hands tight on your waist and her voice in a low whisper. If the sexual tension wasn't so high you'd probably say no you tell yourself, your relationship won't be much more than mindless sex so it's okay, you won't get too attached.
"Sure, prove yourself then," You say half heartedly. Ellie places her hand on your lower back, the other makes its way back up to your face, cupping it again.
"I'm serious about you, just so you know," She whispers, not knowing that she just crashed your plans of never getting attached again. You look up to her, completely helpless, you will fall, and that very hard.
But the way you look at Ellie makes her melt, makes her want to protect you from this cruel world, she still couldn't understand how she let you go.
"Come here," Ellie says, you just nod in response while blinking back your tears. God, this will be hard. She puts her hand on the back of your head and lays you gently on her chest. You look to the side, out of the window, hoping that Ellie won't notice you crying. Ellie plants a kiss on your head while mumbling something along the lines 'we will be fine' into your hair.
a/n: this was inspired by 'things change' bryson tiller, took like three lines out of the song hahaha. stay tuned or smth edit: i did some proof reading also does anyone know that tiktok where ellie says 'what eyes dina?' damn i folded

a/n: thought about splitting this one up into multiple parts, but no, you're just getting one big fic. yet again, just a daydream I had that I scribbled down, just vibes, nothing fancy. also the tiny apartment she lives in, that's just where I lived a year ago. like a ghost in the attic (also also also, I almost exclusively worked on this in the middle of the night, so if it’s not up to par with the rest of my works, I do sincerely apologise)
update: i will not write a part 2 for this story so please stop asking me! you are giving me a stomach ache
summary: “Alright, so even though I’m not, why is it that it would be such a bad thing if I theoretically had a thing for him?”
warnings: Sirius Black x reader, modern!au, college!au, starving artist!reader, posh boy Sirius, very light enemies to lovers energy, probably extremely inaccurate country club, reader works at the country club, playing 20 questions, kissing, sexual comments and references but no actual smut in this one, alcohol consumption, a little bit of light B & E as a cute date, small tolkien reference, open ending (kinda)

“All right, listen up folks,” bellowed the short snappy figure of your boss, “it’s gonna get a lot busier starting today since a lot of the member's kids are coming home on break from boarding school and university and whatnot, so that means not only will there be more people to keep happy but also a lot of stressed-out parents who await the luxury that they are paying for. I expect you all to be on you’re A-game, is that clear?”
“Yes, Mr Barrett,” echoed throughout the room like a choir.
“Good. Now get back to work everyone!”
Just as the herd started to thin, Mr Barrett waved you over before you had a chance to slip out, “Y/l/n!”
Watching your work friends duck out before he could call upon them as well, you gave in to the newly formed reflex and said, “yes sir?”
Not lifting his eyes as you stepped closer, he kept them glued to the clipboard in his hand and ordered, “go restock all the bars.”
“Um, why? Didn’t Tim just do it last Monday?”
“He did,” Mr Barrett finally glance up at you and explained sternly, clearly already being over this conversation, “and now I’m telling you to go do it again. Look, these folks' kids are coming home. So, trust me when I tell you that it needs to be fully stocked.”
“Alright,” you exhaled and scurried out at the irked wave of his hand.
You hadn’t been working here at the Millington club for that long, but even when you consider the fact that you had to mosey up to a bunch of insufferable rich folk, the paycheck was still a lot better than any other place you’d ever worked at, consequently making it tolerable.
Now balancing a heavy cardboard box jam-packed with various clanking liquor bottles, you made your way through the glamorous halls of the club, first making your way down towards the east side lounge. Glancing down at the clinking flasks, you couldn’t even begin to calculate how many months of rent you would have to give for even just one of these lavish drinks.
As you entered the posh sitting room and made your way over towards the bar, a collection of rowdy voices caught your ear.
“No way, I don’t believe it.”
“No, I’m telling you, mate,” you sat the box down on the marble countertop and glanced over to spot the young raven-haired man answering his friends, “it’s true, right there in the library.”
“What genre was it in?” one of the two young men asked. They were all three spread out on a few small queen Anne couches, clustered in the corner, as if they owned the whole establishment, “biography? That corner’s pretty private…”
“Um, I was a little too preoccupied to notice,” the cocky boy scoffed, “you know, with my head being all the way under her skirt and all.”
Kicking his feet up onto the mahogany coffee table in the middle, the bespeckled one in the group chuckled, “only you mister I lost my virginity in a threesome could just casually have that happen to him on a Tuesday afternoon.”
“Who was it with anyway?” the other one asked.
Furrowing his brows, the man in the centre of the story genuinely didn’t seem to remember, “I think her name was Emma? Something like that.”
“Didn't your mother tell you it’s creepy to stare?” you flinched at the sudden and sneaky arrival of your co-worker’s familiar voice, uttering directly into your ear.
“Jesus fuck, Lucy! Don’t scare a girl like that! I could have dropped one of these,” you held up the expensive bottles in hand, then swiftly went back to putting them away.
“Please don’t tell me you have a thing for him,” she ignored your annoyance, crossing her arms.
“What?” was she referring to the brash handsome man you couldn’t rip your eyes away from just a second ago? “No! I don’t even know who he is.”
“Wait, you don’t know who that is?
“No.”
“Seriously?”
“Nope.”
“That’s Sirius Black,” she told you as if the name alone was common knowledge, but then continued as the lightbulb over your head clearly didn’t turn on, “Orion Black’s oldest son?” still nothing, she tried one last time, “as in the Black automobile company? That super old posh one?”
“…the one that the royal family drives around in?”
“Ding, ding, ding!” she threw up her arms and continued to look at you as if you were an idiot.
“Alright, so even though I’m not, why is it that it would be such a bad thing if I theoretically had a thing for him?”
“Because that man right there, gorgeous as he might be, is the biggest playboy on the planet. He doesn’t even know what the definition of a relationship is, let alone love. Y/n, I know you. You, my wonderful friend, is a relationship type of girl, not a casual sleep-around like it’s nothing type of girl. So, trust me when I say, don’t go there.”
“I wasn’t gonna!” you said defensively as she finally turned around and left you to your work.
Bending down to open up a small cabinet, you kneeled on the polished hardwood floor and scurried to finish your work of restocking the bar.
“Hey love,” you heard after only a minute had passed. Glancing up, you saw the very same man you had been so fixated upon earlier, casually leaning his forearm against the counter. He looked like he could have just stepped out of a ralph lauren ad with how impeccable his clothes were.
Shooting up, nearly bumping your head on the way, you felt your heartbeat pick up as his dark eyes bored into you, “hi! Can I help you with anything?”
“Me and my mates over there were just about to go do something a little more fun than what this snooze fest has to offer,” he gesticulated, then added rather smoothly, “you look like you could use some fun, you should join us.”
“Sir, I can’t just leave,” you cocked your head, “I’m in the middle of my shift.”
“So, when do you get off?” he asked, but then as you simply averted your gaze, scrambling for a polite way to untangle yourself from this mess, he pushed, “oh, come on, I know you want to.”
Keeping your eyes low, you shook your head, “I’m not really supposed to socialise with members.”
“Ah,” he leaned in a little closer, lowering himself to your eye level, “you’re a real good girl, aren’t you?”
Eyes growing wide at his suggestive word choice, you blushed, “e-excuse me, sir?”
“I noticed the way you were looking at me,” his studying gaze didn’t waver for a second.
“Oh, that wasn’t-“
“Don’t worry, I won’t tell if you won’t.” He then leaned in even closer, “hey,” nearly whispering into your ear and effectively sending shivers down your spine, “if it fits your schedule better, we could just go into the billiard room right now…”
“Why would we-“
“My friends can stand by the door if you’re nervous,” he interrupted once more, reaching up to push a lock of your hair behind your ear, “no one will bother us, promise.”
Completely stunned by his bold proposal, it took you a few seconds to decline, “sir. I-… I’m gonna go back to work now…” then slowly picked up the now empty cardboard box and exited the room, leaving Sirius alone to pick up the pieces.
Tumblr media
“She’s new… I want her.”
That was all Sirius had uttered to his friends before making his way over to hit on the new girl, occupied restocking the bar.
Now standing there, alone and blinking hard, not understanding why his usual charm hadn’t worked on you, he heard his friends come up behind him.
“How did it go? You meeting her in the bathroom or what?”
“She turned me down…” he was still frozen, staring out the door you’d disappeared through, with a stunned smile on his lips and a determent glint in his eyes. His words didn’t sound unhappy, simply surprised and even a little amused.
“That’s nice, good for your health to be turned down by a pretty face such as hers. Also means you are in fact human after all,” Remus pulled out his box of cigarettes and swiftly tugged one into the corner of his lips to lite it, “so, that’s nice to know…” noticing the look in Sirius’s eye, “come on,” he wrapped an arm around his neck, “we’ll just go out tonight. Get you nice and pussy drunk. That’ll make you forget her in no time, promise.”
Tumblr media
“Funny seeing you here,” you didn’t even bother to look up as the slightly familiar voice found your ears.
“Yeah,” you kept your eyes on the list in your hand just a little longer, “it’s almost like I work here or something.”
Finally glancing up, you met the intoxicatingly dark eyes of none other than Sirius Black, “you’re funny…”
“So,” you started moving along, not letting his bugging hold you back from executing your work, “is there anything I can do for you, sir?”
His long legs made it a piece of cake for him to follow along with you, “go out with me.”
Stopping your stride, you sighed, “Mr Black-”
“Please, call me Sirius,” he interrupted you with all the charm in the world.
“Mr Black, excuse me for being blunt but when will you get the hint?”
Tumblr media
“Y/n, hey!”
This dude really doesn’t quit.
“You know my name now,” you couldn’t stop your eyes from rolling even if you wanted to.
“Yeah, well I asked around a bit about you. That was just one of the many tantalising facts I learned about you,” he winked, and you tried your best to ignore the butterflies that cheap trick had successfully sent fluttering throughout your stomach.
Moving to leave the room, he swiftly blocked the door, making you see nothing but his annoying smirk, “seriously dude, what will it take for you to just leave me alone?”
“Go out with me,” he shrugged lightly and crossed his arms.
“No.”
“Why not?”
Feeling like you might explode if he didn’t get out of the way, you exclaimed, “because I’m not I’m not gonna sleep with you!” your eyes grew a bit wider at the proclamation you’d let slip out.
“Oh really?” he simply smiled, clearly just taking it as another challenge.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you hoped that the conversation would get less uncomfortable if you couldn’t see his jaw-dropping visage anymore, “yeah, I’ve heard what people say about you.”
Completely loving it, he clearly took that as a good thing, “really?”
“Yeah, well it’s like a fucking ghost story around here, so I didn’t have much of a choice. You’re just that kind of guy and that’s fine! But you just need to know, all that charm, it won’t work on me, so you might as well just turn around now. I am not just gonna be another notch in your belt, another hot new little thing for you to pass the time with, okay?”
Eyes still shut, you thought for a second he had left with how long he took to answer you, “okay, fine.”
“Fine?” you finally blinked your eyes open.
“Fine,” he smiled, “I won’t sleep with you.”
“Great!” you threw up your arms and moved to exit the room, though he stepped in front of you again, leaning down to be at your height.
“I mean, it’s probably gonna be really hard for you to resist after the date I’ve got planned out, but sure, if you don’t want to.”
Gnawing the corner of your bottom lip for but a moment, you gave out, “if I say yes to go on a date with you, one date, will you leave me alone?”
Face only inches from your own, his smile grew wider as he agreed, “deal.”
Tumblr media
“Mr Black! Welcome back, sir,” not only the security guard but also an older gentleman in a crisp suit had greeted you both at the entrance of the unusually vacated museum, “enjoy your evening.”
“Thank you, Henderson,” Sirius politely shook his hand before planting it on the small of your back, guiding you further inside.
Glaring up at him as if he was an alien, he finally questioned your gaze, “what?”
“What are we doing in here?” you spoke in a near whisper, “the museum closed like 2 hours ago.”
“Yeah, well,” he shrugged, climbing the big stone steps that lead up towards the first exhibit, “my family’s a big donator to this place, so I just pulled a few strings.”
Fighting the urge to roll your eyes, you simply followed him into the first breathtaking room and breathed out, “okay…”
Even if the company was somewhat challenging, you couldn’t deny how the beauty hung up all around you made the evening at least tolerable. Your little art heart was too weak not to swoon at the sight of all the impressionistic pieces that were on display in this season's unique exhibit. Iconic pieces you could have only dreamed about studying this close.
After a surprisingly long while where Sirius miraculously shut up and simply let you roam and relish in the paintings, you took a deep breath and decided to actually make the smallest of efforts to test if your companion did in fact have any more depth than a teaspoon.
“So,” you started as he settled in beside you, his dark eyes washing over the landscape in front of you, “you’re home from uni for a bit?”
“Yep,” he buried his hands in the pockets of his black trousers, “oxford.”
You felt so strong for not just bolting in the opposite direction. “You’re an oxford man?” you scoffed, “should have figured…”
“Like my father was and his father before him,” he added rather coldly, sounding like this was a rehearsed reply that pained him to recite.
“What do you study?”
“Business,” he kept his answer short.
“Oh yeah?” you glanced over, trying to break through and see if his outsides matched his insides, “is it fun?”
Brows furrowing, he turned to meet your gaze, “what does that have to do with it?”
“You don’t enjoy your major?”
“It’s just,” he inhaled deeply, uncomfortably trying to end this specific chat, “school, you know?”
“No, I actually don’t,” you informed him, slowly moving towards the next painting.
“No?” he followed.
“I don’t go to school,” you informed.
“You don’t?”
“No.”
“Oh, okay…” he averted his gaze, but still felt the need to explain his confusion, “I knew you liked art, so I just kinda assumed that you went to school for that or something…”
“Why bother paying a ridiculous amount of money in order to learn about something that I’m already really good at? No one is gonna deny me the right to create art just because I don’t have some fancy degree in it. If it’s a masterpiece, then it’s a masterpiece.”
“Yeah, I guess so…” you could tell how foreign your words were to him, “so that’s what you do for a living? You paint?”
“It doesn’t pay the bills, but that’s not really the point now is it?” you reflected with a small smile, “just because it’s what I do doesn’t mean I earn a large profit from it, if any at all.”
For a moment, he just went quiet, staring at the many paintings with a slightly glossed-over look in his eyes. You were trying to catch his glances, read what it was that was going on inside that head of his, but your timid attempt at finding a new topic to blossom suddenly became the most effortless task in the world the second that he casually rolled his sleeves all the way up to his elbows.
“Wait, you have tattoos?” tumbled out of you as soon as you spotted the ink.
“Yeah,” he gave a small shrug.
“How did I not know that?” you asked, sounding genuinely interested.
“Guess my pretty face was just a bit too distracting for you to notice,” he winked, regaining a bit of his usual confidence, “do you have any?”
“Yeah, a few. Though they’re just some stick-and-poke ones one of my friends gave me.”
“Aw, my first tattoo was a stick-and-poke one! I was 15 and it was at boarding school in the bathroom,” he remembered fondly.
“Oh yeah? Your parents must have loved that,” you chuckled.
“Oh, they don’t know.”
“Seriously?”
“Yeah, well, clothing can hide a lot and they only really see me a handful of days out of the year anyways, so… what they don’t know won’t hurt them.”
Maybe he wasn’t so terrible after all… After finding a sliver of common ground, the rest of the conversation just flowed after that, making the remainder of the evening not just tolerable, but even enjoyable.
Nearing the end of the tour, you felt his shoulder lightly bump yours, “you like it?” ripping you out of the trance the art piece in front of you had induced.
“I mean, it’s a Monet,” you gestured towards it, finding his question a bit silly, “I think it’s physically impossible not to like it.”
“Darling, I wasn’t talking about the painting,” he clarified, smiling warmly down at you.
“Oh,” you looked up at him and couldn’t help but be blatantly honest, even if it meant that you had been wrong, “yeah, I guess it wasn’t half bad…” then cast your vision back on the painted pond and added as casually as you could muster, “but we are so not doing anything like this next time.”
“Next time?”
“I swear to god,” you sighed, shutting your eyes, “if you don’t shut up in less than two seconds, I won’t hesitate to change my mind. You were just starting to grow on me.”
“Yes, ma’am, wouldn’t dream of it, I’m just standing here, looking at the art,” you heard him smile and peeped your eyes open to find him boldly still staring at you.
Tumblr media
“You sure we’re allowed to be up here?” Sirius asked, following you up the last bit of the clinking metal staircase in the seemingly abandoned factory you’d without context dragged him into.
“Oh, don’t tell me that you're scared,” you playfully glanced over your shoulder at him, “doesn’t your daddy’s lawyer always bail you out of all the shady fun you and your friends get into?”
“Who exactly do you think we are?” he scoffed lightly, though didn’t deny your claim.
“So, you’ve never committed a petty crime before? A party animal like you?”
“I have never done anything wrong in my entire life,” he shot back sarcastically.
“Right you haven’t,” you chuckled, trying without success to bust open the rusty door, putting all your weight into it, “give me a hand, would you?” you requested breathlessly, his frame quickly following your command, stepping right up beside you, readying his shoulder and waiting for your go, “okay, one, two, three!” you both gave it a big shove, making it fly open and reveal not only the factory’s small, flat rooftop but also the most breathtaking view of the city’s skyline and the rabidly disappearing sun.
Seemingly not impressed by the dingy surroundings, Sirius grumbled, “now do I get to know what we are doing tonight?”
“No sense of adventure…” you sighed teasingly, “I’m not telling you, you’ll have to find out yourself,” you sauntered over towards the small ledge by the section of the roof that sunk down a bit and had a bunch of vents and things. Taking a seat, you gestured to the cold concrete beside you and said, “now, sit.”
“You want me to sit?” he eyed the dirty surface mistrustingly.
“Yeah,” you smiled, patting the spot with your fingers, “come on, you can sit on my jacket if you’re such a wuss.”
“Oh my god, fine, I’ll sit down,” he moved towards you, “just keep your jacket. Don’t want you to freeze to death.”
“You don’t? That’s reassuring to know,” you jested as he carefully took a seat beside you, dangling his long legs over the edge.
“So… this is your big plan?” he asked, completely unimpressed, “sit on a filthy rooftop together?”
“Don’t mock when you don’t even know what it is yet,” you raised a defensive hand and then proposed confidently, “now, ask me a question.”
Furrowing his dark brows, he bit his lip in order not to stifle a laugh, “a question?”
“Yeah, you’ve got 20, so use them wisely,” you explained the childish game.
“Oh my god…” he groaned as he caught on, although still played along, “okay, is it a thing?”
“Yes.”
His pristine hair blew in the wind as his eyes scanned the city below for clues, “is it big?”
“No.”
“Am I physically close to it?”
“Yes.”
“Can I see it?”
“No.”
“Okay, so it’s small and close by, but I can’t see it…” he recited underneath his breath, “is it, fuck, I don’t know,” he grumbled, both completely over the game yet also way too invested to just quit immediately, “your phone in your pocket?”
“Good one, but no!”
“Fuck, I don’t know! Am I even close?”
“You are closer than you might think.”
“Can I just get a little bit more of a hint?” he pouted in your direction.
“Fine, it is within a meter of you.”
Head whipping around confused, “um, that’s literally just you. Is it you? Are you really calling yourself a thing right now?”
“No!” you snapped, slightly offended that he’d even think that, “just use your imagination for fuck sake. Don’t they teach you that at boarding school and fancy universities?”
Letting out a long exhale, he just kinda zones out a moment, genially scrambling for the answer and scanning every visible inch of you. “…I truly don’t know,” he then squinted his eyes at you, “was this some sort of test? Did I fail it?”
“No, calm down,” you pulled your backpack around to the front, ripping the biggest compartment open and fishing out a bottle of bargain beer for the both of you, “here,” you handed him one.
“What is this, a price for losing?”
“No, that was the thing,” you placed the corner of the bottle’s cap up against the hard edge below you and gave it a swift tap, effectively popping it off and sending a lava flow of bubbles soaring down the dark glass and soaking your hand.
“This was it?” he hesitated, but eventually mimicked your manoeuvre to open the lacklustre beverage.
“Yep,” making the last letter pop as you raised the bottle up towards your lips.
“You’re terrible at twenty questions,” he chuckled, taking a small sip.
“You’re the one who couldn’t figure the answer out!”
“Yeah, because there was no way I was ever going to be able to figure that out! You can’t just be like Bilbo and ask for a person to guess what’s in your pocket, it has to be something the other person would be able to figure out.”
“That’s never how I played it, but if you wanna go again, play by your rules, then go right ahead, I’ll guess this time.”
After the last of the beers, you’d brought with you were a thing of the past, after several rounds of that child-like play had flown by, the harsh chime of his phone interrupted your guessing of what you were pretty sure was the small spire visible in the horizon before you.
Like a reflex, he fished it out of his pocket, and you watched as the soft smile quietly vanished from his features as if it had never been there to begin with, snuffed out and forgotten like last season’s fashion. It hadn’t been the first time you’d witnessed his phone be a mood killer, it happened at least once whenever he had been in your presence.
“What is it?” you asked, tossing the game to the side to make room for the growing concern you simply couldn’t ignore any longer.
“It’s nothing,” you watched his face twitch slightly as he read the message that plainly bothered him. Taking a deep breath, he tugged it away in his jacket and circled back to the quickly forgotten game, “you, um, still have 4 more questions till you run out-”
“Sirius,” you cut him off, determined to figure out what was troubling him, “who was that?” not giving you an answer, he simply averted his gaze. “I’m not gonna tell anyone, if that’s what you’re worried about. Who do you think I know that I could spill all of your deep dark secrets to? My neighbour Mary who’s about 90? Oh yeah, she would have a field day, if she actually remembers to put her hearing aid in,” you joked, in an effort to get him to relax and open up, “come on, you can tell me.”
After a good long moment of him thoroughly biting his inner cheek, he finally spoke, “it was my dad. He wanted to remind me that I’m supposed to start sitting in on meetings beginning by tomorrow. Start doing my part for the family business and finally grow up. He wants me to follow in his footsteps. And I know that it must sound fascinating, running a huge company like that, but it truly isn’t. It’s just a bunch of long boring meetings with boring money-hungry people talking about boring numbers. It has absolutely nothing to do with the cars themself.”
“And that’s not what you want?” you asked softly.
“That’s not the point,” he uttered, sounding downright exhausted.
“Isn’t it? Do you want to follow in his footsteps?”
Staring out into nothing, he slowly let the truth slip out past his lips, “no...” the tiny word instantly hitting him like a truck, “fuck. I’ve never actually said that out loud before… I don’t wanna do that… I don’t know what it is that I want to do, but I sure as hell know it isn’t that. I don’t wanna become another soulless businessman like my father.”
“Can I ask you something?” you asked him gently.
“Sure.”
“Why are you still studying business if you know that’s not what you wanna do?”
Exhaling heavily, “because I think what scares me even more than this future they’ve got all mapped out for me is the unknown. I don’t know what will happen if I hop off the train, but at least I know what it looks like inside and I know where it’s headed.”
Without giving it a second thought, you reached out and took his hand in yours.
“You’ll get off. Might not be today, but someday you will.”
A soft smile spread across his lips as the stressful thoughts slowly melted away with the aid of your touch and he turned his attention back to the date. “I gotta admit, this wasn’t at all what I expected.”
“What did you think? That I was gonna take you to dinner at a michelin restaurant? Some day you will learn that money can’t buy you everything. I mean, just look at that view,” you nodded towards the blushing skies above, the sun now nearly disappeared down behind the many roofs of the city.
“Yeah,” he breathed, not taking his eyes off of you for a second, “it’s beautiful.”
Not soon thereafter, when the dark night started to bloom and the date was due to end, you took him up on his adorably chivalrous offer and let him walk you back home. However, when you reached the outside of your building, he wasn’t the only one anymore that wasn’t ready to part ways yet. When you fumbled with the keys and he eagerly asked, “could I maybe walk you all the way in to your front door?” all you did was nod, because right now in this very moment, just one more minute of his charm was all you desired.
“Just what floor did you say you lived on?” he puffed from behind you once you’d reached the third floor of the old apartment building.
“I didn’t,” if you’d told him that you lived on the fifth floor, right underneath the roof in a tiny shoebox of an apartment, he properly wouldn’t have dared to climb the steep stairs with you. “And just because you're walking me to my door doesn’t mean you get to come inside, okay?”
“Got it.”
Even though he looked to be in phenomenal shape, you still noticed his attempt to hide how much of a tole this trek really was for him.
Once you finally reached the small dark door to your home, out of sight and out of mind down a narrow hallway, creaking it open, his eyes widened at the sight of your tiny apartment, “oh my god, that’s your apartment?” he didn’t even have to poke his head inside to be able to view every single millimetre, seeing as the whole flat in its entirety was probably the size of his bathroom.
“That’s my apartment,” you confirmed, not finding the size as jarring as he did.
“Is it even legal to live up here? Aren’t these attic rooms for storage or something?”
“They used to be, but now I promise it's totally above board.”
After letting out a small chuckle, he then took one last long look at you standing in the doorway, smiling warmly down at you, “I had a lot of fun tonight.”
“Yeah, me too,” you smiled, and when he then turned to take his leave, you stopped him, “hey Sirius?” still close, he turned around, “can I-, could I maybe-…”
Taking a step closer to you, he stared down at you and uttered, “what?”
“…can I kiss you?”
Not hesitating for even a second, probably just in case you would change your mind, Sirius bent down and boldly kissed you. The feel of his soft lips pressed against yours and his tongue confidently asking for entrance surprisingly didn’t increase your nerves, it minimised them. It felt oddly comfortable. Like you’d already done it a thousand times before.
“Goodnight,” he breathed out, lingering just a little longer.
“Night.”
Tumblr media
The persistent knocks at your door finally came to a screeching halt as you swung it open and revealed the unexpected figure of Sirius.
“I need to talk to you,” he insisted, sounding out of breath, probably having sprinted up the stairs.
Furrowing your brows at the less-than-warm greeting, you asked, “Sirius? What are you doing here? It’s 11 o'clock at night,” pushing past you, the small stumble he took as he crossed over the threshold didn’t manage to escape your perception, “hey, what’s going on?”
“Everything’s going on!” he bellowed, making you quickly close the door behind him and cross your fingers that the walls in your building weren’t as thin as you feared if he was going to continue at this dramatic volume.
Whirling around to plant his unfocused eyes on you, you saw right through him and asked, “are you seriously drunk right now?”
Fully ignoring your question, he sank down onto your small couch and spoke wearily, staring out into your dimly lit home, “you messed everything up.”
“Excuse me,” you crossed your arms and closed your light robe a bit more to cover your less then modest pyjamas up, on the verge of just ripping the door open again so that you could kick him out, “I haven't done anything-”
“You messed up everything!” his unsteady eyes finally met your glare, “everything was just fine before I met you, there was a plan, a good plan,” he gesticulated with his right hand, “I didn’t see any problem with the plan till you had to show up and turn it all upside down,” you felt your heart start to sink as his intoxicated words impacted, “you ruined it all. You ruined me. For the first time in my life, the world is a truly terrifying place. It’s never been that way till you showed up,” you noticed his clenched jaw begin to quiver, “you are like a bright light, showing me just how dark my life actually is. I didn't ask for that perspective! I was perfectly fine just wandering around in the dark!”
“Sirius,” you reeled back, completely stunned by the tornado that had just interrupted your evening routine, “what are you-”
“You scare the shit out of me, Y/n,” he exclaimed, cutting your question off before it could fully form, “no girl has ever done that, except for you. Fuck, I love you! That terrifies me!” he sank down even further, nearly laying down at this point, overwhelmed by the storm brewing between his ears, “but what scares me even more is the thought of losing you.”
Completely stunned, you found your body slowly dropping down upon the mattress of your bed, sitting there at a complete loss for words, flabbergasted as you watched his low groans and curses gradually fade away until you picked up on how his breaths had slowed, and his lids had grown heavy, exhaustion snuffing him out like a flame.
Tumblr media
Curled up on the windowsill, backlit by the morning sun, you raised your eyes from the sketchbook balanced on your bent knees, to reference the dark-haired man still passed out on your tiny couch.
Even after you’d not so silently riffled through your pantry this morning, checking to see if you had any resemblance of a hangover cure hidden away in there, he still slept like a baby, through all the crinkly bags and accidentally dropped containers.
Though now, as you weren’t really making any noise at all, simply emanating the silent scratching of your pen against paper, you saw him stir, inhaling sharply as he awoke.
“Morning sleepy head,” you tried to be mindful of your volume, the light wince your tone evoked from him clearly affirmed your suspicion of the horrible state the night before had put him in.
Craning his neck to look at you, he sat up, squinting in confusion as the bright morning light washed over him, “Y/n, what, um,” his voice sounded like it had been through a meatgrinder, “what am I doing here?”
“You don’t remember?” you sat the sketchbook down beside you but kept your seat in the window, merely shifted a bit.
“I-… Did something happen?” his palm lifted up to shield his mouth in worry, “did we-”
“Oh my god, no,” you got what he was hinting at and quickly cut in to correct him before your cheeks had a chance to turn an even brighter shade of red, “you showed up here last night, completely wasted.”
“Oh…”
“Yelled at me for a little bit and then you kinda just passed out.”
“Fuck…” he sighed, jaw clenching from guilt, “Y/n, I’m really sorry.”
“Yeah, you should be,” you crossed your arms tightly across your chest, “what even happened last night? Were you just at some club and randomly decided to come and shout at me a bit?”
“I wasn’t out,” he shook his head, still not meeting your eye, “I was at this stupid party with my family, some fundraiser I think, and became maybe a bit too pissed and got into an argument with my dad,” taking a deep breath in, he spoke, “I told him that I’m dropping out of school and that I don’t want to take over the company.”
“Oh…” it nearly came out as a whisper.
Taking shelter behind his hands, he lightly ran them down his face, “I’m really sorry,” he said earnestly, “I shouldn’t have bombarded you like that. I don’t remember what I said, but you don’t deserve any of it.”
Every word he had uttered the night before still played on a loop inside your mind, “…none of it?”
“No,” he finally met your gaze, “not one.”
Your churning stomach tried to prevent the words from flowing out, but your now fully bloomed feelings eventually prevailed as you found yourself asking him softly, “not even the part where you told me you love me?”

The last thing Leo Valdez expected was to see Y/n L/n in bunker nine.
Crouched beside a large metal frame, her oil stained hands made rapid movements as the machine shuddered and emitted a grey fog across the bunker. Although Leo guessed the contraption was about to combust, he couldn’t help but fix his gaze on the girl in front of him.
it had been almost a year since he had seen her last, her previously long, dyed hair was now tied back out of her face, the dye settled at the ends of her hair like dripping paint. Her natural black hair created the perfect silhouette for her face, emphasising her sea-green eyes and her ethereal seeming features. She seemed tired, but happier, as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.
“Y/n?” Leo stammered. “When did you get here?”
The girl looked up and smiled a cheeky grin back in response, before giving the machine one final thump with a mallet before it spurred to life, clanking and clunking, gradually clearing the grey smog from the room.
She stood up, wiping her slender hands on what appeared to be a pair of school trousers. It seemed as if she had just left school, which was impossible. Her school was miles and miles away, surely she wouldve had time to change. Besides, School finished up almost a month ago in America.
Before Leo could decide whether an “I missed you so so much ” or a “Why didn’t you tell me you were coming back early??” was a better thing to say, he was engulfed in her arms, her familiar ocean and oil smell frying his brain for a split second.
“Man, I’ve missed you, Leo. Sorry for rooting around in your bunker without asking you, I thought you’d already be in here and then I got a bit distracted I guess”
She explained how she arrived early after some empousai attacked her boarding school in Birmingham, causing the year to finish early. As for why she was in her uniform still, Apollo still owed her a favour from when he was turned mortal, so she asked him to bring her to camp half blood.
As they left bunker nine and headed to dinner hand in hand, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a thick square wrapped gift.
“didnt think I forgot your birthday, did you?” As she handed him the present he looked at her sceptically. “Did you for real get me a book for my birthday? I mean damn, I love you and all, but a book? seriously?”
Regardless, he carefully unwrapped the vibrant paper around the gift, revealing a red leather book with the title bearing “Esperanza Valdez”. Speechless, Leo shot you a careful glance before opening the book. Inside was a handwritten note.
“Cariño, you told me once that you would do anything to have a picture of your mother, beside the newspaper clippings from that night. You told me it was pointless though, because it was impossible. That your family would never even talk to you again, let alone give you anything of your mother. You have given me what I thought was impossible. Love, acceptance. A place to go. I think it’s time for me to return the favour. Mi vida, mi alma, mi sol. Te amare por siempre. Feliz cumpleaños, mi amor.” ^
Leo flicked through the pages in disbelief. The inside of the book was filled with scrapbooked pictures of his mother in her youth, all the way to pictures of her mother holding him with his grandparents, his mother playing legos with him, his mother and him going about their life, content. Before the accident. When he got to the last page he couldn’t hold it in anymore. He collapsed into her arms, sobbing a mixture of grief and gratitude, all while she stroked his hair and waited for him to calm down.
When he had done so, she asked if he wanted her to read him the final page, a crinkled handwritten note carefully glued into the final page
“Necesito ir a comprar algunas cosas a las tiendas, hijo. Si te despiertas antes de que regrese, no tengas miedo. Volveré tan pronto como pueda. llamar a nuestro vecino si algo sucede. ¡Te amo! -Mami”. ^^
It was heartbreaking how something so mundane can cause such Greif - A note from Leo’s mom for his child self not to worry as she went shopping in the early morning. Leo had never had anything like it, a note written by his mother, her *handwriting*, it felt so surreal. He remembered reading the note as a child, waiting patiently by the door for his mothers return. But now there was no door to wait by, no mother to walk through it. He looked up at y/n with tear filled eyes.
“How did you even get these? I know Aunt Rosa didn’t give them to you, no way.”
And so she explained how she sought out Clios, the Greek patron of history, and did many complicated and time consuming, and some straight up ridiculous quests in exchange for old photos of his mother. The handwritten note had been a “tip” for doing such a good job on the quests.
Leo was completely shocked. How - *why* would someone do all this for *him*? He thought to himself how he didn’t deserve such a wonderful partner such as y/n, such a kind and thoughtful human was surely wasting their time being with *him*.
Despite his thoughts & tears, the two of them made it to dinner, where Leo showed piper and Jason the pictures of his mom and him. It was too personal, too raw to share with anyone else yet. And after Leo’s 20th “thank you so so much I love you the most anyone has ever loved ever” they finally blew out the candles on the cake, and when anybody asked, Leo was sure to tell them that it was the best birthday he ever had.
a/n : I can never nicely finish up a one shot can I. Reader is implied daughter of Poseidon. Anyways, translation for the Spanish :
^ “my life, my soul, my sun. I love you forever. Happy birthday my love”
^^ “I need to go buy some things at the shops, son. If you wake up before I come back, don't be afraid. I'll be back as soon as I can. call our neighbor if something happens. I love you! - Mami”
Sorry if my Spanish is bad bro I suck at sm and won’t lie I used a lot of google translate for the second piece. Okay hope you enjoyed 🫶 happy birthday Leo

Hey han, i have an urgent request if you don’t mind. May I request mikey, Shinichiro, and Mitsuya with a ballerina girlfriend who is struggling with anorexia? As a dancer myself not only am I constantly comparing myself to the other girls in my class but I’ve been told by my dance teacher on a couple of occasions that I needed to lose weight, despite already being underweight. I’ve been in ballet since I was very little, but my ED only started when I hit my early teens and had just kept with me :( and sometimes it gets hard to keep dancing because I feel so dizzy and exhausted, but I still love dancing and refuse to quit
Mikey, Shinichiro, and Mitsuya (Separate) with Anorexic Ballerina Girlfriend
PLEASE DON'T READ IF MENTIONS OF EATING DISORDERS WILL DO YOU MORE HARM THAN GOOD. PLEASE
Pairings: Manjiro x Fem!Reader, Shinichiro x Fem!Reader, Mitsuya x Fem!Reader
Warnings: mentions of anorexia, starving yourself, being thin, food, people saying you need to be thinner, poor health
Genre: Comfort
Post-Type: Headcanons
Word Count: 1.5k
Summary: In which they find out about your eating disorder and comfort you about it
[A/N: Hello <3 I never mind an urgent request. But can I just say, I really admire your resilience to want to continue dancing despite what you're going through. That's amazing. Hopefully these headcanons are comforting for you and perhaps give you some options to use moving forward! ily, you're beautiful <3]
Tumblr media
Mikey:
Tumblr media
Just wanna start off by saying this man is obsessed with you; k thanks for coming for my ted talk–i needed to get that off my chest
He’s always noticed you’ve been pretty thin, but he’d brush it off as you just having a faster metabolism or just naturally being a little thin–after all it doesn’t matter to him whether you were thin or chubby, he’d love you regardless
However, little sirens do go off in his head as you continue to get thinner and thinner over time
What alarms him even more are the bruises that appear on your skin
He’s on full fight mode, thinking someone is hurting you behind his back and he’s ready to use full violence on someone
But eventually he notices how you avoid food whenever you’re with him and he offers you something, you try to naturally shrug it off, claiming you’re not hungry…but what were the chances you were never hungry when you were with him?
He just very blatantly asks you about it; Mikey has no filter, as soon as something comes to his head, he’s going to verbally express it
As a commander of Toman, he’s very good at picking up on lies as well, so please be honest, it’s not like he’d judge you for it anyway
Mikey is so supportive of you being a ballerina, he’d never be caught watching ballet recitals before meeting you, but now he’d never miss one of your shows, showing up front and center to support you (perhaps a little too loudly)
Anyway, when he finds out that you’ve been starving yourself because of comments from your dance instructor that you need to lose weight, along with knowing you’ve been comparing yourself to your fellow dance mates, he’s fuming
Dark impulses who? They’re definitely popping out here
Mikey’s hands are rated E for everyone, and that includes your dance instructor, so hold him back because he’d really be in that class making an example of her o,o
One you manage to calm him down enough, he’d bring you into his arms
“I don’t see why you’d compare yourself to those other dancers. Whenever I watch your recitals, my eyes are always glued to you and only you. You’re captivating on the stage, Y/N. Those other girls can’t even begin to compare to you, because they’re not you. And as for that instructor of yours, I don’t get this obsession they have with being thin. You’re already thin enough, and she dares to say you need to get even thinner? Is she trying to kill you? Ignore her and keep doing what you’re doing. There is no weight limit to being a ballerina. They come in all shapes and sizes and they’re all just as talented. Expect for you, you’re my favorite ballerina”
Just Mikey going on and on about how perfect you are
Knowing that you were struggling and putting your life and health at risk just to dance felt outrageous to him
He knows how much you love to dance, but if you continue to get thinner, he feels he’d have no choice but to pull you away from it until you have a healthy relationship with food again and can mentally feel confident in yourself to the point where other’s words won’t allow you to harm yourself again
He’s just worried and wants the best for you
Losing you and seeing you struggling like this destroys him, and he wants to see to the people who made you like this, suffer
Shinichiro:
Tumblr media
You opened up to this cutie towards the beginning of your relationship about your eating disorder, so he already knew about it and was already doing his best to help you through it
Being a ballerina, Shin was your biggest fan
He’d bring the whole gang over to see your recital and the other people in the crowd are just frighteningly glancing in their direction lol, but shin made sure to tell everyone to behave as to not put you in a bad situation, potentially getting you kicked out
Though one day he came to see you practice in class and he overheard your instructor telling you, you needed to lose more weight to look the part of a ballerina, and he steps in immediately
“Exactly who needs to lose weight here? Y/N is a phenomenal ballerina just the way she is. She looks graceful and elegant on stage. Outshining any other ballerina in this room” he fumes, not meaning to throw the other girls down, they were all great as well, but his main focus was on building you up now since he knows how detrimental her words could be for you and your eating disorder
“I’d suggest you watch your words carefully. I won’t warn you again”
Let’s just say your instructor never mentioned your weight again
Of course he wouldn’t actually do anything to harm your teacher, but words were pretty powerful as well and he was glad they proved effective
“Now, I don’t want to see you looking down on yourself. I know you have a bad relationship with food. I don’t expect your habits to change overnight, but I’m not letting you leave for practice until you’ve at least had some fruit and toast or something. You won’t be able to practice properly, or go without fainting without nutrient in your body”
He doesn’t care if he sounds like a mother nagging at her daughter, he wants the best for you and he knows you won’t give up dancing, he’d never ask that of you anyway, so he’d do his best to make sure you were at least well enough to make it through practice
He brings you a light soup or salad for lunch, anything that would get any kind of food in your system
Step by step he’d help you through it, ready to defend you again if anyone has any unnecessary comments to make
Spends all his time throwing compliments at you, you’re his one and only pretty girl after all
Mitsuya:
Tumblr media
Mitsuya was always your safe place, so you never held back when it came to opening up to him about your deepest secrets and darkest thoughts
You had just been speaking about your class, and you found yourself comparing yourself to the other girls in your class, being more negative towards yourself, while praising your fellow ballerina’s and Mitsuya has no choice but to stop you in your tracks
“Woah woah woah, darling. The other girls in your ballet class are all talented, like you say, but so are you. Why does it sound like you’re disregarding your own beautiful qualities?” He’s sad to hear you talk badly about yourself. How could you not see how wonderful you were in his eyes?
“I can see how much you love ballet by the way you perform. You put your everything into it and it shows. You’re beautiful, always the most beautiful woman in the room. I wouldn't be shocked if everyone in the room couldn’t take their eyes off of you, so why can’t you see that as well?”
He was right. Of course he was right. You were used to feeling bad about yourself, mostly from the comments others made about your body. On the scale you were already underweight, yet it still wasn’t enough for your instructor
So much pressure was always placed on you to be the perfect ballerina, even if it meant starving yourself
Mitsuya also knew about your eating disorder, it was one of the few things you never told him, but it was obvious enough for him to find out on his own eventually
He never told you he knew though, he wanted you to tell you himself, he didn't want to scare you off or make you feel like he was trying to take control of your life for you
So he’s shocked when you finally mention it to him, feeling exhausted of hearing the same words from your teacher and guilty from keeping it from him, you tell him everything
Mitsuya is adamant that you find a new ballet class; surely not all dance instructors were obsessed with the weight of their students to the point that they can’t see what a disservice they’re doing to their health
How can a woman make it through a physically draining dance practice with zero nutrients in her body to keep her energized?
That’s his solution–find a new class
Scared to start new somewhere else? You’ll always make new friends, but wouldn’t it be better to do it in a safe, comforting environment with a teacher who actually cares for the healthy and well being of her students?
He’ll even help you research other ballet classes if you decide to take his advice
As for your anorexia, he’d also help you with that
Whether you’d like to seek professional help, so you can talk it out with a counselor as well or not, is up to you
He’s not here to force you to do anything, but he does gently encourage you to eat little portions of something light everyday
Little by little until you can recover your relationship with food again without feeling like you’ll blow up

Chapter 4 (TEASER)
…you have more pieces of me than the desert has sand
and i have less pieces of you than i can hold in my hand…
warnings: SMUT (18+)
authors note: we’ll slowly get into the drama and angst and unresolved traumas but i just wanted to give these two a few last moments of physical intimacy
(also listen to this while reading, I promise it’s good and it’s important for the storyline)

Noah’s POV
“My therapist will hear about this” was not really the first thing I expected to see when I grabbed my phone and opened X, this morning, but here we were. I looked over to the naked body sleeping next to me and felt my stomach twist a little. I wanted to throw up. Something I haven’t felt in a while. Not when it came to women and relationships whatsoever. I knew what I did was wrong and stupid. I knew I could’ve just gone home to think it through but there was something about her. Something I couldn’t figure out yet. And it kept me coming back time and time again. I’ve spoken to my therapist about her a few times but never really gotten that deep into the whole subject. It seems like she will have to hear about this after all, cause I was lost.
I looked at her again and traced my finger through her hair. She shifted a little in her sleep. “Beautiful. Fucking beautiful.” I thought. The sheet wasn’t covering much of her body and my eyes peered over the arch in her back. Her left foot was curled next to mine and her skin was exuding so much warmth. The outline of her breast and the way her arm was curled up under the pillow made my dick twitch and I felt the need to touch her.
“No.” was my immediate thought. Not after last night. Not after what I did. So I decided to do the best thing I could come up with, the most rational thing any man in my position would do. I got up and started looking for my clothes. Yes, I was going to leave before she wakes up. Was that an even bigger dick move? Yes. Was I gonna regret this later? Probably not. Cause I was already regretting it.
“Mmh… No..Noahh..”
My head snapped back so fast I felt my neck crack and was almost certain that I wasn’t going to be able to look straight for a few minutes. She looked like she was still sleeping. I went over to her side to take a double look. The sheet was barely covering anything but her ankles at this point and her naked body was fully exposed to me. And god, was it a sight to see.
“Noah…”
Yes, that’s me. I’m here. And I look fucking stupid with my hard on, my bare ass and my socks in my hands. Her body shifted a little and I realized that she was taking in her sleep. I thought I’d give anything to be in her head right now, in this very moment.
“Y..yes, plea… please, No.. NOAH.”
My eyes were glued to her face and her own snapped open after that last scream. If I’ve never felt like a creep before, now was my time to shine.
“What the…” she was more shocked then me, for sure.
“That was a nice dream you were having, I reckon.”
I smiled at her, sitting down on her side of the bed. I saw the red creep up her cheeks and she covered herself swiftly with the sheet, still trying to wake up from whatever she was dreaming about.
“It’s nothing I haven’t seen already, babe. Plus I was enjoying the view. And the acoustics with it.”
I could feel the heat radiating from her and I knew I had to stop, but she was so cute when she was embarrassed.
“I, uhm.. I don’t know..”
“I mean, I take it as a compliment. I’m sleeping right next to you and you’re dreaming about me.”
“Don’t. Stop.”
“Well, it was more of a “yes, please, Noahh”, but “don’t stop” works just fine as well, I guess.” I shrugged and smirked at her.
Her hand flew so fast and the next thing I felt was a slap across my naked chest.
“Shut up. What are you doing up?”
Yeah, go explain now, dumbass. “Oh, nothing, just sneaking out, you know. Something every single respectable man, out there, would do.” I didn’t know what to say, so I just stared at her.
“Noah? Earth to Noah?!”
“Yeah, sorry. I was just about to go retrieve our clothes from.. all over the house, I guess. If your roommate hasn’t already found them.”
“Oh… yeah. You’re right. Fuck. Well, won’t be the first time.” she shrugged and let the sheet fall off her shoulders
I knew I wasn’t in a position to even try and touch her. I felt guilty in my core and all I wanted to do was apologize, but I never knew how. All I knew was running. I always ran when things got too serious, too deep, too complicated. I guess what they say about living in a burning house and thinking everything is on fire all the time, is really true after all.
I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice her body moving close to mine and jumped when her lips touched my left cheek and traced a wet line to my ear.
“Maybe we don’t have to get our clothes just yet.”
Fuck. Her breath was hot against my neck and all the hairs on my body stood on ends. It was almost pathetic how much my body responded to her every touch. I really was weak for her and she didn’t even know it. Not fully. Not really. She probably didn’t believe me either. I was always manipulating every situation after all.
“Y/N, I’ve to go. I have a meeting with the management in 2 hours.”
Not entirely true. It was in 4 hours. I had plenty of time to give her a couple of orgasms and get a coffee on the way home, but I didn’t want to exploit the situation.
“Mmh..no. Stay. A quickie. You’re halfway there anyway.”
She was looking down at my junk. And she was right. I didn’t need much. I had everything I wanted in front of me. Naked. And fucking divine.
“I know we didn’t talk things through. I know what’s going through your mind. Stop overthinking it. Stop overthinking us. It’s always a dead end. And I don’t wanna talk about it for now. I just want you. I want to feel you inside again.”
Her fingers traced mine and she started dragging my fingers up her thigh. She was warm and smooth and soft. So soft. She was putty in my hands. She was mine. I didn’t need to power play things. She gave in. Always. No one could take her from me. And she didn’t even need to tell me. I knew the power I held over her. She was water. And she was flowing through every single part of my being.
“Feel what you do to me.” she placed my hand right at the center “And feel it again.” and then guided one of my fingers between her folds “And again.” then added a second one “And then feel it again until you can’t feel it anymore.”
No, she wasn’t water in my hands. I was water. And she was the moon. And I shifted according her plan and energy. I moved at her speed. I was under her control and spell. She had me, not the other way around. I was hers entirely. And so I gave her what she wanted. I buried my fingers so deep inside of her, I felt her whole badly shake under my weight.
The world could wait.
“Lay down and spread your legs for me.”

How I Met Your Father. 5 [Appleradio, Radioapple]
A03 link
“What do you mean go to the hotel?” Lucifer had asked as those words were truly incomprehensible, washing up the dishes and then passing it over to Alastor to dry them up.
“Our daughter is losing her mind” said Alastor, choosing his words. “I think it would be good for her to see that you support her project.”
“But I thought I was doing that already? I gave her Keekee and all the money she could want to use on it.”
Alastor barely resisted the urge to roll his eyes.
“If that was all she wouldn't have asked me to convince you to come pay a proper visit.” He didn't mention why Charlie wanted the visit in the first place. They could all talk about that bridge when they came to it. Going to a technically new place on his humanoid form was already a big stressor to on top of that mention anything about addressing Heaven directly. “She wants to see you there. As yourself, so she can show you around. Isn't that the most normal thing for a child to want?”
“I don't know… ”
Alastor finished drying up the plate on his hand and put it aside on the rack, going up to place his hands over Lucifer's shoulders. He massaged them a little until he could finally sense the devil releasing the tension that coming out had brought.
“It will be fine, love. You already saw the hotel once, there is nothing scary about it. Just think of how happy it could make her. We both will be right there with you.”
Lucifer sighed deeply, closing his eyes.
“Charlie won't want to present her father on another form, does she?”
“No, darling.”
“I could be a cute panda. Everyone loves pandas.”
Alastor didn't even dignify that with a response. Lucifer rubbed his eyes and turned around, supporting his weight against the sink. His eyes were fixated on the bowtie of Alastor and started playing with it, as if to fix it.
“Dear.”
Lucifer groaned, letting his head fell back.
“I know, I know. I… I need some time to prepare myself first" he let out a long, sustained sigh. "I will be there. Can you give me an hour?"
"An hour? Are you sure, darling?"
Alastor wasn't expecting such a short timeframe. Lucifer heard the surprise in his voice and shrugged.
"Yeah. If I postpone it any longer then it will only be harder later and I don't want to keep Charlie waiting forever" Lucifer hugged himself, his shoulder slouched. "Can you go and tell Charlie that? I will be there."
"I can go with you if you wish" offered, brushing his fingers against the red cheek.
"No, I… I don't want to stay glued at your side the entire time. Not if it's in front of her new friends."
"I will kill them if they say a word" promised without hesitation. He was not going to let his husband be mocked in front of him. That was his privilege, no one else. "They are going to know what is to be turn inside out if they disrespect me or my family."
Lucifer gave out a small laugh, looking up.
"Don't kill the friends of our daughter" asked, turning his head to kiss the palm of Alastor and then nuzzled it. "I will be fine. You are right. I already sorta know the place. I should know already that nothing is going to happen."
Alastor didn't know if he was going to keep thinking the same when Charlie talked to him about what she really wanted. But between a anxious daughter that was losing sleep over impending doom and an also anxious husband who struggled with going out home, he really didn't had many options.
"I will be there with you if you need me" Alastor kissed his forehead and then hummed satisfied when Lucifer pulled him down to connect their lips. "You will be fine" said as they shared the same breath, the smell of Lucifer's recent dessert still sweet.
Lucifer nodded, bringing him closer by the hip as he kissed him again. Alastor knew where this was going and if he gave his husband the chance, they were just going to procrastinate all over the kitchen. Normally he wouldn't mind at all, but Charlie needed the update. It had been years since he ever saw her so stressed out.
"We will wait for you, love" said, giving one quick kiss before he called onto his shadows to take him out Lucifer's embrace.
Lucifer stayed with his arms stretched out, hugging nothing, and grunted.
"Fine. But now I need a cold shower."
"That is the spirit, darling! I will go tell our daughter the news!"
Alastor gave him a last wink before he teleported away from the man, ignoring the pout on his husband. He would live and if everything turned out alright, Alastor would compensate him later anyway.
When he came back to the hotel and told Charlie about their new visitor, the princess of hell positively squealed.
"Really?! You convinced him to contact Heaven, dad?!"
"I convinced him to come here and talk to you directly" pointed out Alastor. "After that, I will leave things to you, dear. That is what being a manager entails. Don't worry, I am sure you will do a wonderful job."
Charlie blinked, taken aback, but just as quickly her enthusiasm returned.
"Yes, you are right! I can do this. Alright, everyone!" called to the sinners on the livingroom, applauding to get their attention. "My other dad is coming to pay a visit and we have to present this place in the best way that we can! Let's make him feel welcome so he will hear my case!"
The enthusiasm of the other sinners was not exactly matched, but they still moved anyway. Niffty did her best to clean up the area jumping from place to place with her supplies. Sir Pentious went to prepare some snacks, while Angel and Husk, per Charie's suggestion, went to make some banners to hang. Alastor likewise prepared some of the favorite tunes of Lucifer on their rockola, hoping that would help him to keep relaxed.
When everything was set up and done, the doorbell rang and Charlie went to open the door. Lucifer reacted just as he always did whenever he haven't seen Charlie since the day before, like it had been ages since the last time they were together, crushing her on a bear hug that left Charlie breathless. Vaggie received the same treatment as well.
"It's so nice to see your hotel for the very first time, sweetie!" said Lucifer particularly loud. "Yep, this totally… unique style of decoration is something I never seen before in my entire life! So new for me!"
God damn it, Lucifer.
Alastor didn't know what else was he expecting. He squeezed his brow between his fingers, wondering how the father of lies could be so bad at them, before noticing that Lucifer had stopped right in front of him, reclining on his staff.
"Oh, and who is this cutie right here?" asked his husband with a cheeky grin.
Alastor barely contained his laughter. What an idiot.
"I am nothing but the hotelier of this magnificent establishment, your Majesty. At your service" Two could play that game.
"Hotelier, huh? Do you offer room service?" Lucifer's eyebrows went up and down.
"That is not part of my job description, no."
Lucifer's smile only grew more. Alastor couldn't say that he didn't like it when he got that mischiveious look on his face, like seeing a trace of the devil that he truly was.
"How about you pay me a visit when your shift is over? I can make it worth your time."
Alastor now chuckled openly, regarding the man with a half lid look.
"Your Majesty, that is so highly inappropriate. I am on work hours here."
"Oh, that is okay, babe. My daughter is the owner of this place, I can get away with everything" Lucifer winked an eye and Alastor had to look away because this whole stupid thing was working on him.
"Papa!" Charlie wasn't as happy, looking equal parts frustrated and flustered. "Stop flirting with dad" added in a whisper that everyone could still hear.
Lucifer giggled to himself. Alastor took a step forward and let his hand rest on the back of Lucifer's neck, casually brushing his thumb against the skin. He could percieve some tension there, but only some and he hoped that was a good sign. Just in case he squeezed a bit the skin there to let Lucifer know he counted with his support.
"I am sorry, sweetie, I couldn't resist" said the king, putting an arm around Alastor's waist. It had been a while since they had an opportunity to act this way in public so he could understand that much. He also liked to reclaim his husband in front of others, make them know this man was already taken. "You prepared all of this for me? Aww, sweetie…" said just as one of the banner fell into the floor, taking a couple of balloons with it, "you shouldn't have bothered."
"Everyone did actually!" Charlie grabbed the arm of her father, separating her parents as Alastor chuckled, following behind. "We were all so excited to receive you today. These are our current residents, Sir Pentious and Angel Dust. They did some incredible work since being here! They are totally on the way to redemption!"
Sir Pentious gave a reverence, victorian man that he was, as Angel Dust offered up his hand for a shake. Followed up by the sound of her tiny steps, Niffty came running to stay in front of Lucifer.
"Oooh, you are just as pretty as Alastor said!" commented with a giggle, rubbing her own face. The eye of Alastor twitched when Lucifer looked over at him. Once. He had said that once. "I bet you can be very scary when you want to! Does Alastor like to be forced too? He won't tell me."
"Uh…"
"Okay, so that was Niffty, our maid!" Charlie dragged Lucifer away.
Nifty was about to chase him to demand her answer when Alastor grabbed her by the back of her dress.
"Niffty, dear, what did we say about badgering my husband? Only I get to badger him."
Niffty looked at him with the deceitful innocence of pure morbid curiosity.
"Do you like him when he is scary?"
Yes, but that wasn't the point, the time, the place or the person he would say that to. In other circumstances he found the unhinged character of the tiny woman rather amusing, when he wasn't the target of it.
"Dear, I think I saw a bunch of bugs on the corner that need to be taught a lesson. You think you can handle that? I think I heard them say that they were feeling rather good for their future move here."
"Oh, are they happy?" Niffty took some scissor from behind her back, her attention succesfully redirected. "I bet I can fix that! I will cut their legs one by one."
"I bet you can, dear. Off you go" Alastor let her on the floor again as she ran off, chasing her target. Ah, he could never stay mad at her for long when she was so cute filled with murderous intention. Like a ravenous bunny.
Lucifer now was shaking the hand of Husk.
"Yeah, of course I remember you. You were the best babysitter for Charlie we ever had. She actually got to sleep early with you!"
The fact that their options were between Husk and a bunch of personified sins who didn’t have the first idea of how to take care of a child was not mentioned.
"She was a good kid, it wasn't difficult" Husk avoided looking at the king as he scratched his neck. He clearly wasn't used to compliments. "Good to see you again, sir."
"Who is sir? Come on, we have known each other for years. You can call me by my name. I gotta say, didn't know you were working here too" pointed out throw gritted teeth, looking back to Alastor.
"It just never came out" said, shrugging, and truly didn't. "But isn't it lovely? Charlie gets to be surrounded by even more people looking out for her."
For a moment both Husk and Lucifer shared the same arched eyebrow.
"Right" Lucifer smiled to Husk. "So, how it has been?"
Husk made some vague gesture in the air, as if he didn't have enough time to tell all of his grievances, and then deflated.
"It could have been worse" admitted finally and Angel Dust laughed.
"We love you too, Husky!"
"Nobody was talking to you, Angel."
Lucifer laughed, patting the cat's arm.
"I see you are still the grumpy man I knew. And…" said, grabbing his by the shoulder to separate them a bit from Charlie, "how has my little girl being doing her work here? Be honest with me, come on."
"I mean" Husk looked over at Alastor, who did nothing but smile wider at him, and that was enough to make him swallow a bit harder. "She… is really trying. Everyone is trying here, sir. Lucifer. That is honestly the best I could ever tell you. Angel and Pentious, they both have been doing better since coming here, I think" he said that, avoiding looking at the two residents.
Lucifer tilted his head to a side.
"Are you in it for the redemption too, Husk?"
"Me? No, no, your Majesty, that is not my thing. But I still got eyes so, you know. Just making an observation."
"Thanks for the input, Husker! Deeply appreciated!" interrupted Alastor, taking the shoulders of Lucifer to separate him from Husk, whose only response was to roll his eyes. It wasn't the first time something like that happened. "My darling, I think we are owed a tour through this magnificent and well decorated hotel of our daughter. Isn't that right, my little fawn?"
Lucifer didn't miss the emphasis on the first "my" and he contained a chuckled through biting his lips. A slight blush on his face gave Alastor the immediate impulse to bite his cheek. But that would have to be for later.
"Yes, of course" Charlie nodded, dedicating a smile to Husk as if to thank him for his words. "Come with me, papa."
Lucifer took the arm that his daughter was offering, smiling up to her as she exposed everything that she had been doing with the place. Alastor gave a final smirk to Husk, who turned to keep drinking from his bottle, before teleporting through his shadow to follow his family.
Charlie talked about all the activities they had done and the progress of the residents. Alastor mostly tuned out because none of that was news to him, keeping his attention mostly on Lucifer. He seemed to be doing fine for now, fidgeting with his hand at the side that Charlie wasn't touching by pulling the fabric of his pocket. Alastor step up to place his hand again at the back of his neck and he was happy to see that made him relax a bit more.
They were walking around the third floor, showing off the second biggest room of the hotel, when Alastor heard Husk calling him. Mimzy was downstair looking for him.
"Who?" asked Lucifer.
"An old lady friend, darling. We actually met in life before coming here" Alastor rubbed his back. "I will leave you in the capable hands of our little fawn for now." He didn’t bothered counting Vaggie. She didn’t counted.
"Does she know?" asked Lucifer as Alastor was about to turn away.
"Nope, she is the worst gossip I know! Literally incapable of keeping a secret to save her life, ha ha! But such a fun company otherwise. So if you go downstair, we literally just met today, my love" added, taking a kiss with him before they had to be strangers. "Charlie, your beautiful antlers have nothing to do with my own. You were just blessed with them by chance."
"Alright, dad" Charlie was thankfully used to this escenario, so include another person around with to pretend being unrelated wasn't a big ask for her.
"That is my girl!" Alastor closed the door, walking next to Husk. After a while on them being on silence, he grinned wider. "Is there anything in your mind, dear friend?"
"I think we should just kick her out."
"Oh? Do you?"
Husk tensed up for a moment. He was walking on thin ice and he knew it.
"You know her pattern. She only appears when she needs something out of you and it's never just a small favor with her."
"Well, then that it's only all the more fortunate that it's me that we are talking about" Alastor searched his glove on his pocket and put it on. "Don't worry, I know to handle it."
Husk frowned, letting a moment of silence pass by before he spoke again.
"I don't understand why it has to be a secret. If anyone tries any shit then you can just have Lucifer kicking their…" he didn't finish the phrase when Alastor's smiling face was on his front, neck brocken to look down to him. The presence of the green magic put the hairs on his arms straight, as if the static was forcing them up.
"You seem to have a serious misunderstanding of how things work around here, old pal" The smile of Alastor looked like a knife ready to stab. "You aren't here to question me on how I decide to protect my family. You are here to keep your mouth shut and serve drinks for the hotel of my daughter, for as long she needs you to. Anything else is pushing it already. Are we clear?"
Husk knew the answer already. Of course he knew.
"Like water."
"Wonderful" Alastor came back to his casual disposition like nothing happened. "Then let us not keep a lady waiting any longer!”
On the lobby, Mimzy had already served herself a drink at the bar and was in the middle of drinking it up when she saw the familiar shadow of Alastor forming from the ground.
“Alastor! You tall handsome rascal! Where have you been hiding? Come here!” The woman squeezed him and Alastor did just the same. “When was the last time you showed your face around the club? I keep passing by and everyone is too modern, they don't know the classic moves like you and me.”
“Oh, I have been a little busy with my new job” commented as Mimzy sat at one of the stools.“Going to sleep early doesn't mesh well with the night club life, unfortunately.”
Mimzy snorted at the start of a laugh and then stopped when she saw that Alastor was not about to join her.
“Wait, seriously? You taking this hotel thing for real? I thought everyone was joking when I heard the rumors that now you were wasting your days on this dump from the Morningstar kid. What was her name anyway, Chrisly? Carla? Something with C.”
Alastor's eyes squinted at that, but otherwise kept his posture just the same.
“Charlie” said, making a slight gesture for Husk to serve him a small shot of his favorite drink. He could take his alcohol well enough and he felt he needed a little cushion against his own instincts to defend his daughter. When he had the first zip, he could relax again. “Now you see, the rumors were true. This is my new home.”
“And what are you actually doing here? Cleaning up toilets and singing songs about friendship and hope?” Mimzy put her finger close to her mouth, pretending to vomit.
“That among other things.”
Mimzy smirked with the side of her mouth, like waiting for the punchline of a joke that never came. When Alastor didn't elaborate, she huffed.
“Fine, don't tell a girl what you have been plotting in that deer head of yours.”
“Plotting? Me? Couldn't it be that I have seen the light and want to make a change for the better? So little faith you have in your old pal Alastor? I could be redeemed too, you know.”
They looked at each other for a second before Alastor chuckled and Mimzy exploded in laughter. Now that was the kind of joke she was expecting.
“Oh, thank goodness!” Mimzy sighed, cleaning up a tear from her eye. “For a second there I thought I didn't know you.”
“I am the same as always, my dear” Alastor rubbed his thumb against the ring under his glove. “It's not so bad here. I got my own radio tower to do my broadcast and unless there is an emergency, I can spend my time however I like.”
“Hope whatever is that you are looking for is worth it” Mimzy finished up her drink and served herself another, just after Husk put the bottle in front of her. “Oh! Speaking of enjoying your time, what happened with that handsome blue demon you went to the club that time? Are you still seeing each other? If not, do you know if he is available?”
Alastor did not look, but he knew that Angel and Pentious were observing with their mouth open. They knew best than to ask questions right there and then at least. Husk made a gesture for the two of them come closer and whisper into their ears, probably to explain that was merely one of the forms that Lucifer adopted during their dates. That way, even if someone knew about the face of the king he couldn’t be recognized. As long he wasn’t presenting as himself, not just in animal form, it was easier then to handle the outside world. Lucifer had a bunch of forms for their outings together, even changing genders if he felt like it.
Alastor liked all of them, but he had to admit was one of his favorites was the blue one. If only because Lucifer had made up a whole backstory about being a dealer on the black market and to go along with it, he became a cocky and arrogant demon that still regarded him with the manners of a gentleman. It was the closest one to Lucifer’s true personality when he felt fully confident on his environment. On their last date to the casino, Lucifer had danced with him until Alastor had to be the one to ask a break, for the first time ever, and then they stayed on their booth to talk the rest of the night, kissing and laughing. It had been wonderful.
“Mmm” said Mimzy, observing him with a kind of attention that made Alastor realize he must had revealed something on his face, unintentionally so.”I will take that as a yes to my first question then.”
Alastor cleared his throat.
“Yes, well, he is a fine company. Nothing too serious.”
“Does that mean I can get his number or…”
“No.”
Mizmy shrugged.
“Suit yourself. But you know, between him and that chick I saw you with another time” Also Lucifer, becoming a happy go lucky succubus. That one attracted a lot of attention from other men. He didn’t like that, but enjoyed that Lucifer giggled a lot and at all times at least some part of him was looking to be in contact with Alastor as part of his role “you have become quite the casanova. I literally never would have guessed with how you were before.”
If only she knew.
“Hey, not to interrupt, folks, but I couldn't help to listen and I have to ask” Angel pointed at Alastor, looking at Mimzy. “You said this guy went to a club? For dancing?”
Alastor frowned, debating himself between being offended or confused by the question.
“Oh, yeah, for sure! Even when we were upstairs, Alastor could go like no other on the dance floor after taking enough shot to throw an elephant. He was the only guy who could keep up with me. You wouldn't know it because he likes to be a big meanie, but he is a total sweetheart when he wants to be.”
“Is that so?” Angel grinned, looking first at Alastor and then at the rockola playing some soft music. “You know, we have that thing over there that nobody is taking advantage of and so much space. If Smiley here has such a reputation, it would be kind of a waste to not put it to good use.”
Alastor saw the way that one of the lower arms of Angel was taking out his phone, ready to record, and he had to internally laugh. Even if he could record anything, all he would get was someone who actually knew what to do with their feet. Unlike whatever unsightly nonsense young people were doing in the clubs someone like Angel would frequent.
“Oh! I haven't seen one of those in ages!” Mimzy jumped out of her seat to go see it, taken aback when she read the titles. “What the hell is up with all this corny selection?”
Alastor was about to recommend a piece when a sudden portal opened up in the center of the lobby and a distressed Lucifer came, with Charlie and Vaggie going behind. It took every part of Alastor's will to not immediately go to them.
“Papa, please, listen!” was begging Charlie.
“No, no, no, definitely no, absolutely no” Lucifer shook his head, grabbing his hat like some kind of shield as his breathing became quicker. “I can do a lot of things for you, but that is a step too far!”
“It's just one meeting, dad, that is all I need! Please!”
Lucifer looked pained as he gave a quick glance to Vaggie, who looked away, before coming back to his daughter.
“Duckling, I love you, but you don't know what heaven is like…”
An explosion cut out the rest of Lucifer's word. The entire building shook, debris falling everywhere. On top of them the chain holding the biggest chandelier gave up. Lucifer reacted faster that any of them could replicate, grabbing Charlie to take her out of the way and pulling out his wings to form a shield around of the two. Everyone was looking at the entrance, where some guys were calling out for Mimzy, but Alastor only had eyes to see the back of Lucifer as he was hiperventaling inside of his shield.
"What the fuck did you do!?" Husk was reclaiming out of Mimzy.
Mimzy explained something about owning money or killing someone. Alastor could not care less. Lucifer had been doing so well the entire time. He had been flirting, walking, talking perfectly fine until then. They had ruined it all. They had almost gotten his daughter hurt.
"Papa, it's okay, just breath, it's okay" he could hear the voice of Charlie, trying to calm down Lucifer. "I am fine, you see? Nothing happened, papa, please listen…"
They had to die, decided as he went outside to meet them on his full demonic form. And it wasn't going to be a quick death either, he would make sure of that.
At the start of the carnage, the others came out to see out of curiosity. By the end, Angel had vomited on the side, Pentious had to turn away to avoid passing out and Husk had to cover Niffty's eyes so she wouldn't get any inspiration for the future.
"Oh, well" said Mimzy when he was finally done, returning to his normal form, walking over some intestines. "You… really needed to release some steam, didn't you? You went all out there."
Alastor did not respond. He spit someone's bone to the side, a tiny one from a hand.
"Uhm, thank you for saving me, Alastor. I knew I could count with you. You are always the best."
"Don't come back."
Mimzy froze.
"Come again?"
Alastor sighed, grabbing his cane with a strong grip before he turned around. He didn't mind all the spot of demon blood that was spilled all over his suit. He was usually more careful with his food, but there was always that one exception.
"I said, please, don't come back" said, regaining his composure with each word. It wasn't the fault of Mimzy. She just did what she always did and he allowed it to happen. That was his mistake. "I usually don't mind these kind of situation you get yourself involved with. But right now things are different. I can't risk something like this happening again, not here."
Not with his family there.
"Are… are you serious? Come on, Al, don't tell me that you care about that redemption thing after all."
"That has nothing to do" Alastor started walking his way back to the entrance, calling on his shadows to clean up what he had left. "If you ever do decide to change, which we both know is unlikely, then you are welcome to come in. Until then, I am afraid I can't do this anymore."
Mimzy reacted cussing him out, exactly as he expected from her, but she would be fine, as long she got herself out of trouble for a while. Their friendship could withstand this. Once he made sure that she was gone, he came inside to find that Lucifer had opened up his wings, just enough for him to see him hugging onto Charlie. He seemed to have calmed down a bit, but the look on his eyes when he saw him was enough to make the rest of the way to join their hug.
"Dad… is that blood?"
"Yes, dear" Alastor kissed the top of her head.
"You stink, babe" pointed out Lucifer with a weak laughter.
Alastor would not have the others watching this. He hugged the two of them as close as he could and let them all be consumed by his power. When the dakrness receeded they were back on his own room, where he knew Lucifer already felt safe in. They remained on that exact position a while longer, until Lucifer finally broke the silence.
"Babe, you really stink. What did you even do?"
"Took care of some cockroaches" Despite everything, Alastor had a proud smirk while saying that. "I don't think I am having dinner today."
"Gross, dad" Charlie chuckled. She took out a hankerchief from her suit to try to at least clean some of Alastor's face, but quickly gave up when the whole fabric was stained. "Everything is good now?"
Alastor nodded, keeping an arm around Lucifer's shoulder. Bad smell or not, his husband still leaned into him as he retracted his wings until they finally dissapeared.
"I left the shadows cleaning up outside. I will have everything repaired in a few hours."
"No rush, dad" Charlie sighed, looking down at the hankerchief on her hands before hesitantly looking at Lucifer. "So… still a no?"
Lucifer looked up to the ceiling, as if giving up, and closed his eyes.
"Okay. But with one condition" said when he finally opened them up again.
Charlie perked up.
"Anything, papa."
"Take Vaggie with you."
Charlie blinked, clearly surprised.
"I… sure, I was planning to do that if I could."
Lucifer tilted his head to the side.
"Do you think Vaggie will be okay with that?" asked gently.
"Why wouldn't…? "Charlie frowned for a second, confused by the question, until finally the light reached her eyes and she let out a small oh of understanding. "You know about her."
Lucifer nodded.
"It's like a smell. Angels and fallen ones have it different. I was wondering if you knew."
"Yes, I kinda saw it happen. When she fell" Charlie sighed, hugged the middle of Lucifer and the man responded in kind, petting her hair. "It was awful, dad. She was sparring some kid from the cannibal town. They ripped her wings out and took her eye because she showed mercy."
Lucifer kissed her head. Alastor took one of her hands and squeezed it once.
"That is the kind of place heaven is, sweetheart. Are you sure you still want to go?"
Charlie lifted her head, her eyes sad but just as determined as they were before.
"I have to try, dad. What other alternative there is? Letting all sinners get killed? Sinners like dad or uncle Husk?"
"Nothing is going to happen to me, little fawn" said Alastor, but Charlie shook her head.
"Even so, I can't stand this anymore" said, looking up to Lucifer. An accusatory glance passed through her eyes, the question of why he let any of this happen in the first place, battling with her own feelings towards the kings himself. Finally the second competitor won and she sighed. It didn't mattered how the exterminations happened now, it mattered to deal with them now. "I know it's a long shot, but I can do it."
"Very well" Lucifer looked so extremely tired. Alastor nuzzled the side of his head. "Take Vaggie, keep close to her. And please text me as soon you get back."
"Thank you" Charlie lifted out to hug the man from the neck. Alastor saw her lip trembling a second before her eyes were overflowing. "I am so sorry that heaven sucks so fucking much, papa."
Not surprising for Alastor at all, Lucifer started crying freely too. Even when Charlie was a baby this too also happened. It was a thing.
"And I am sorry you have to see it how much it sucks, duckling. I love you so much!"
"I love you too, papa!"
As father and daughter embraced each other, Alastor took that as his cue for finally go to take a shower. When he came back, dressed on his casual clothing, Lucifer had enchanted away all the stains he had left from he and Charlie, the two of them laying on his bed. He had kinda expecting Charlie to already be on her way out, but didn't mind the extra company as climbed on the bed too next to them.
"How are you doing, love?" asked Alastor, brushing away some blonde strangs of Lucifer that were over his forehead.
"Better now" Lucifer sighed, his head searching for more contact. He nuzzled the top of Charlie's head. "Please, come back safe."
"I will" Charlie gave both of them a kiss on the cheek as she rised up. "Thanks for trusting me. I will make you both proud."
"You always do" said Alastor, watching her go to the door.
She dedicated them one last smile, wishing them goodnight before she was gone. Alastor let himself fall to the bed again, looking over Lucifer, who seemed just about ready to give out.
"Darling, you need to get changed" pointed out. When his fallen angel looked just beat, he sighed and went over to undress him himself. "Seriously, what are you, a child?"
"You knew that is what she wanted to ask when you told me to come here" said Lucifer, still doing nothing to avoid or help Alastor's tentacles to take out his booths and then his coat.
"Would you have come if I told you?" The question came accompanied by Alastor unbottoning his stripped vest with his own fingers.
"Not in an hour" admitted Lucifer first and then sighed. "I don't know. Maybe."
"I needed a yes, not a maybe, darling. You will not make me feel bad for trying to look out for our daughter" Alastor turned Lucifer around to take out his vest, sending it through his shadows to a chair, folded and ready for tomorrow. When he turned him around again on the bed, Lucifer's face was blushing and looking kinda pouty. "If you ever want to contribute, anytime."
"You look kinda hot like this."
"Like what?" Alastor was sincerely confused by the comment. He wasn't doing anything especial.
"Caring" Lucifer finally moved his arms, first stretching them and then lifting them up to hold Alastor's face on his hands, his thumbs gently brushing against his cheekbones. "Protective. Possesive. You were really hot in general today" He smiled, turning his head. "That is the kind of face I wanted to see."
"I am not making any face" Alastor wondered how much was actually showing when Lucifer giggled, bringing him down to kiss him.

Whatever It Takes (CH-2)
Dear Damian, Normally I would write a letter in Arabic, but I thought since you're gonna live here, you might as well get used to the language. I know this was abrupt to you. But this is the first opening me and Mother could get. Sorry, Mother and I could get. English grammar rules are so wonky.
Both Bruce and Damian let out a soft laugh.
Anyway, back to the point. I know what you're gonna say. You're gonna say, “You did the same thing I'm doing right now. I can handle it.” And I'm not denying that, Damian. Just that you shouldn't have to do this. Shouldn't have to fight. You shouldn't have to kill. You shouldn't have to always watch behind your back. It's not right. And just the fact that it happened to me does not make it right for you. Here at Father’s you'll be able to learn new things. Enjoy life. Make friends. Meet your other siblings and our Father.
Please give them a chance. You don't know if you like something if you never try it. Stay safe. And be happy. Don't think this is goodbye, I will come visit. Mother and I love you. With all we have.
Your sister And the bane of your existence, Mariam.
Thankfully, Damien was too tired after the day's proceedings and went down for sleep without much fuss. After making sure he was comfortable in the guest bedroom, Bruce went back down to the Cave where the DNA showed 92% completed. Seeing him, Tim, Dick and Alfred came and gathered around.
“Well, Master Bruce?”
“He is sleeping for now. The kid had a dagger, but I left it with him because he looked too–”
“Vulnerable.” Tim said.
“Yeah, that.” Bruce said, giving them a tired smile. “I was thinkin–”
The batcomputer chimed. As all of them whipped around they saw displayed on the screen in bold letters. Almost mocking them-
Test #27
Subject: Damian Al-Ghul Wayne
Biological matches: Bruce Thomas Wayne (Parental) Talia Al-Ghul (Parental) Ra’s Al-Ghul (Grand Parental) Test subject #28 (Complete Fraternal)
“Well damn” Dick said. “I suppose it was to be expected, honestly.”
Bruce sighed as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “I suppose it is pointless to open up the second test result.”
“Better safe than sorry.” Tim said, clacking on the keyboard. “Here we go.” with his words, the screen changed.
Test #28
Subject: Mariam
Biological matches: Bruce Thomas Wayne (Parental) Talia Al-Ghul (Parental) Ra’s Al-Ghul (Grand Parental) Damian Al-Ghul Wayne (Complete Fraternal)
“I didn't enter her complete name because she never really said it out loud, but do you want me to, like, input it in as Al-Ghul Wayne?” Tim asked, spinning around on the batchair.
“Yeah.” Bruce said. Turning to Alfred, he continued, “What do I do, Alfred?”
“Though it may take some time, Master Bruce, I believe a solution will present itself. Worrying about when will only cause additional stress. I suggest you focus on Master Damian. You do have a lot of years to make up for.”
“I don't even know how old the kid is!” Bruce groaned. “I’ll turn In for the night. I'll deal with this tomorrow morning.”
“Excellent idea, Master Bruce. After all, a good rest makes our minds work better. Don't they Master Tim?”
“Wha-What?” Tim asked, his eyes still glued to the screen pulling up Talia's file.
“Come on, Tim.” Dick said. He was slowly putting all the bat computer screens on Sleep Mode. “You already know all that there is to know about her.”
“Yeah, yeah. I'm looking through Justice League files, you know, in case someone updated something.”
“Come on, Tim.” Bruce said, making use of his ‘dad voice’ as put by Dick. “The files will still all be here in the morning. It's time you got some rest.”
“Yeah, yeah. Just a minute.” Tim said, his eyes scanning the screen.
“Nope.” Dick said as he picked him up. “Going to burrito wrap you in a blanket so you can't sneak into the Cave.”
“Nooooooo” Tim said dramatically as Dick put him over his shoulder and walked off.
Bruce waited until their steps receded before again turning to Alfred. “Do you think I'm ready for this?”
“Master Bruce, In quite a lot of cases, you have not been ready for something yet. You took it on beautifully. Some mistakes did happen, but, your imperfection is a part of you. I believe you'll know what to do with Damian and how to do it. You both are more similar than you think.”

Chapter 6: Blood
You look at Killer. “I… I told him I was from there from the start.” You clarify, and you can see some of their eyes widen. “I was,” you stop, licking your lips and swallowing heavily before continuing, eyes glued to the table. “Running away, and ended up in here.”
There’s a heavy silence that follows.
The weight of it drags out long enough you manage to pull your eyes up from the table and look around. Some of the people looked a little pale, and the three vampires were looking between one another before coming to some sort of unspoken agreement.
“He’ll be back before dawn.” Heat says finally. “He’d have to be.”
“He won’t ash, but he wouldn’t risk it anyway.” Killer agrees.
“We have to pack the house.” Wire says finally, and the others nod.
“We just got back!” Dive whines as Quincy is already pulling her out of the chair.
“Come on, it’s a lot of work, and we won’t have much time.” She explains as Dive lets her self be dragged away.
You look around in confusion as most of them leave the table, a few pausing only long enough to finish what little was left of their meals before they left the room. The sudden rush of action had your brain spinning in place, and eventually the only person still in the room with you was the one vampire with a mask, Killer.
It appeared to be made of metal, a series of holes bore into it, and alternating stripes of white and blue smeared across the front, looking almost like face paint and less like metal. He was seated at the table almost formally compared to earlier, and while he wasn’t facing you directly, you were certain his eyes were on you.
Still. Quiet. He seemed to be giving you time to speak first.
“What’s happening?” You question finally, the din of everyone else’s actions had gone from cacophonous to far away enough that it was almost hard to hear them.
“After nearly a century of living here, we’re moving.” He answers evenly, almost kindly.
“Is it… my fault?”
“No, not in a sense that you are to blame.” There’s a pause, a soft breath of air almost like a sigh that slips from behind the mask. “Our being here was always temporary, you may be the catalyst, but the change was always going to happen.”
“I… still feel like I should apologize.” You admit. “Is there anything I can do to help?”
His head tilts for a moment before he shakes it. “Not in the sense of packing things up and loading the Punk, but… you can do something.” He admits, getting up and prompting you to do the same. “Wait for him on the porch.”
“The -!” You stop, stepping back and away from Killer. “Not outside, I can’t go outside. If I… If I go outside they’re going to see me, and he made me promise. I stay inside, with, with no lights and I don’t even go near the windows, and…” You trail off a little, looking around a fully illuminated manor with all manner of people running here and there.
“You’ll be safe out there.” He assures you, continuing toward the front doors again with you following behind him. “I wouldn’t let you sit out there otherwise.”
You nod. “Okay then.”
Killer opens the front door for you, and you step out onto the porch. The door’s just pulled most of the way, but he doesn’t latch it. You can hear the sounds of everyone doing whatever they’re doing inside the manor, but it’s muted.
It’s a little cool outside, but not uncomfortably so. The clothes Kid had been providing you with were warm enough, and comfortable on top of it. Not as tailored to fit as your clothes back at the facility, but you hadn’t expected to ever wear anything like that again when you decided to run away.
Dusting off a small patch of space on the front steps, you sat down, near enough to the railing to lean, and almost hide against it. Despite Killer’s assurances you didn’t want to be too exposed. The moon was no longer full, a week away from the night you’d run away it was lower in the sky and was barely half-full tonight.
Enough light to see by, without being so bright that it felt like it was a shining beacon in the dark. The muted silvery light didn’t reflect off your clothes like before either, another benefit to the clothes you’d been provided. They weren’t bleach white layers of lace, and while the colors were soft, they didn’t reflect the light of the moon nearly so effectively as your usual clothes.
The last week had been unusual, but not bad. Maybe it was because you’d never really had a chance to interact with someone on such an honest level, but you could feel worry tighten your chest. Everyone seemed so sure that he’d be okay, whatever it was he’d gone off to do, and you tried to have faith in that. They’d known him for years, centuries, even, and you’d only had a week.
A shift in the air sends a thrill down your spine, and you look up from your wandering thoughts to see Eustass Kid standing in the pathway leading to the porch. His eyes shivered gold in the moonlight, but you barely noticed due to all the blood.
He was nearly drenched in it. It pooled around his feet, and dripped off his fingers, staining the stones beneath his feet. His breathing was heavy enough you could just barely hear it on the wind, harsh and full of gravel. You’re on your feet before you even realize it, hand reaching out.
“Are you hurt-?” The question passes your lips in full, but Kid’s cold tone still seems to cut you off.
“What are you doing outside?”
“Killer said,” you start and then stop, managing to look him in the eye despite everything else. “I was worried.”
“… About?” The cold tone is sharp, like ice against your throat.
“You, I-!” You gasp as Kid goes from being several feet away to right behind you. You can still see one of the drops of blood traveling to the stones even as the rush of air ruffles your clothes. You could swear you felt him reach for you, but there’s no hand print on you, just a strange sensation that pokes at you.
“I don’t need your worry.” He growls, a deep animalistic sound rumbling in his chest. The tone, his stance, his movements, everything seems to be meant to push. To shove.
The disconnect between the two sensations is frustrating.
“You… You don’t get to decide what I worry about!” You shout, turning around to face him. The iron stench of blood is making your stomach turn, but there’s been too much emotional whiplash for you tonight, and you didn’t care. “I - I’m free! I get to decide what - and who -!” You jab your finger into his arm, smearing a line through the blood as he pulls his arm back a second too late. “I worry about!”
You flick your hand without thinking, splattering the thick blood onto the ground, eyes still fixed on him. It would be almost hilarious, if not for the amount of blood and gore clinging to his coat and body. It was far too much to be just his, but there was no way to tell if he was hurt as well. At least not like this.
After the initial shock wears off his expression darkens and he looms over you, taking a step forward as you stumble back a step. There’s a challenge in his movements, and even the moon shies away, hiding behind a shift of clouds.
“One week enough for you to think you shouldn’t fear me, little gift?” He questions, eyes nearly piercing you to the ground.
“No, I, I mean, I’ve not been ah-afraid,” you nearly mumble the response, taking another unsteady step back.
“You’ve been plenty afraid.” He corrects. “You were afraid I’d turn you over to the marines,” he steps closer again and you try to keep your feet in place. “You were afraid when I pinned you to the bed and threatened to take you right,” step. “Then,” step. “And there.”
You stumble back a few steps, managing to at least return the fierce eyes looking back at you. It was hard to see anything else. With the moon tucked safely behind the clouds, not even the silver rim of light could illuminate anything else. He was practically a beast of shadow before you, eyes demanding you cow to him as was natural.
“The actions,” you say, licking your lips and continuing. “I was afraid of the actions, not of you.”
“And now?” He prompts.
“It… feels like you don’t want me to touch you.” You answer carefully. “As though,” you swallow thickly, reaching out to him slowly. “You think I shouldn’t.”
Kid sucks in a breath when your fingers get close to his chest. You pause, the two of you standing there motionless for a moment. You don’t withdraw your hand, but the sense that he doesn’t want you to touch him is so powerful you don’t want to upset him by closing the distance.
“Are you hurt?” The words are barely a question. You’re sure you know the answer even before its left his lips.
“No.” His voice is almost soft, but there’s something just under the surface. You don’t think it’s anger, because you don’t think Kid has any problem releasing his anger.
“What did you-.” You stop, shaking your head. You didn’t need to ask. When he got angry, how he got angry, what the others had said when they arrived. You were naive, sure, but you weren’t ignorant. You knew where the blood came from.
“Why?” You question finally, grabbing his coat. The soft material gave easily under your grip, cold, thick blood running between your fingers. The coat was saturated, but you didn’t let go, didn’t recoil.
“For reasons long dead.” He answers simply.
“Then why now?” You nearly demand, tugging the coat and sending splatters of blood to the stones. The idea that some of it, if not all of it, could belong to the other honeysuckles wrapped tight around your heart. You might not have meant to befriend anyone, but you hadn’t meant them harm.
“What did they do - What did I do!?” You demand, tears in your eyes.
“What’s it matter?” He asks, voice cold and harsh. “You said so yourself, they were already in their own coffin.”
“I WAS!” You nearly bellow, beating on his chest. “That’s what it was to me! Not them!” Blood splattered down your arms, and onto your face. It was cold and heavy and the only thing that lightened it were the tears that cut down your cheeks.
“You - you asshole! Bastard!” You cry beating your fists against him until your hands ache. The ache dulls and then stings and you’re sure you’ve split the ridges of your palms against his stone-hard body. But you didn’t know how else to release the feelings that were swirling around inside of you. If you’d just stayed quiet, if you’d just stayed put, if you’d just heeded his words.
That he didn’t need to drink, and then you wouldn’t have told him.
He wouldn’t have gone.
They-.
Big hands grab your wrists, holding you still suddenly. You looked up in surprise to see him looking down at you. There was something in his expression that nearly cut you in half, and you sobbed in understanding.
“You asshole,” you nearly croak the word, stepping forward and setting your forehead against his stomach. He flinches, but he doesn’t release your wrists and doesn’t move away from you. “Don’t do that.”
“Do what?” He asks, curiosity at the edges of an otherwise flat voice.
“Don’t let me think you did something you didn’t do!” You cry, kicking him in the shins hard enough you hurt your foot.
“Stop that!” He barks, moving his leg back so you can’t kick him again. “Stop hurting yourself!”
“You didn’t kill them!” You yell angrily.
“Wanting it to be true doesn’t mean it is!” Kid snaps back.
“You didn’t!”
“How would you know!?”
“I know!” You assert.
“Vampires are monsters! I could-!”
“You aren’t!” You interrupt, glaring at him. He glares back for a second before sighing, letting go of your wrists and taking a step back. He looks away, and you can’t sort out the emotion on his face, though there’s a sense of anger simmering beneath the surface.
“They are dead.” He says after a long silence.
You nod. “Yeah,” you say the word softly, trying your best not to cry. “But you didn’t kill them.”
“They only did what they did because of me.” He insists, and you can’t stop the pained, clipped laugh that escapes you.
“You were only there because of me.” You mimic his tone and he flinches, your point made.
There’s another long silence between you, stretching out enough that the sounds of the activity within the manor get his attention. He looks toward the manor, listening intently for a while. You can’t make out much of anything other than thumps and muffled voices, but you’re sure he can hear things much more clearly.
“If it’s not my fault,” you say hesitantly. “Then it’s not your fault.”
Kid clicks his tongue in frustration.
“You and your people are leaving this place.” You say, looking back to the manor. “I doubt you left the facility standing.”
He grunts, but doesn’t say anything else.
“Chances are… no one knows what I am anymore.” You admit. “Or that I even exist.”
“… Could go where ever ya’ want.” He offers, and it almost seems hesitant.
You laugh, but this time it’s a lot lighter than it was earlier. Kid tilts his head and you shake your head.
“Hardly.” You say, still chuckling at the thought. “One scraped knee and everyone would know what I was. Plus… I don’t know anything.” You look yourself over, fully realizing just how much blood you managed to get on yourself. “Everything we learned was propaganda. Half-truths and full lies.”
You look up at Kid to see him with half a grin on his face looking down at you. Something about him and his expression makes your heart race and you look away before finishing your thought.
“I… wouldn’t last a day on my own.” You admit sheepishly.
“Five, at least.” Kid scoffs and you laugh.
“What’s…” You pause, clearing your throat and pressing your lips together. Kid puts a hand on his hip and shifts his weight, quiet, but expectant. “What’s it take to become a… er… a thrall?”
“A thrall?” He questions, voice heavy on the first word as a bloody finger draws a line up the middle of your throat, tilting your head up to meet his gaze. “Or my thrall?”
“Yuh-yours.” You manage to mumble the word. If not for his finger under your chin you’re certain you’d simply crumple to the ground.
Kid grins, cocky and sure, before lifting you up easily and cradling you against him. One of your bloody hands was on his shoulder, the other on his chest, as you steadied yourself against the sudden new perspective.
“You ain’t gotta sign your soul over, or anything like that.” He assures you, walking into the manor. Everyone who sees you stops for just a second to bow to Kid before returning to their work. He doesn’t seem to even notice, and you don’t get the sense that they’re doing it because they have to.
Heat and Wire don’t do or  say anything, just watching you go by with neutral expressions. If there was any knowledge tucked in their faces, you had no way of understanding it.
“We’ll be packed and ready soon,” Killer says as Kid ascends the stairs. “Day break’s in an hour and change, partner, don’t lose track of time.”
Kid waves his free hand. “Yeah, yeah.”
You look from Killer to Kid. “Why would we lose track of time?”
He shifts you enough that your chest is pressed into his shoulder, the side of his face against yours. You can feel the warmth of his breath against your neck as his lips brush against your ear.
“You wanted to know how to become my thrall, right?” He hums, voice dropping lower as his next words press heavy into your skin.
“Naive.”
“Little.”
“Mouse.”
