If you are in a state that is/has put forward motions to criminalize abortions after the supreme court ruling, you need to be prepared.
If you have the means, stock up on plan B. Don't get brand name unless you really really want to as generic is significantly cheaper.
Do not just go and buy out your area's local stores of emergency contraceptives.
It is imperative that those are available in emergencies. Instead order them online. Daddy Bezos has options available for purchase, tho as you may have guessed from the way I post on here, I personally believe alternatives would be better.
Nevertheless, here's a link to the cheapest version I could find on Daddy Bezos' shop

Just curious, what's the "pink scare"?
I misspoke; I was referring to the Lavender Scare.
The Lavender Scare was an American political movement that lasted roughly from 1947 to 1956, paralleling the 2nd Red Scare. It was largely helmed by Joe McCarthy and Roy Cohn and was a targeted campaign of political attack against queer people. The reasoning behind it was that gay men and lesbians constituted a threat against national security because their "subversive behavior" (not being straight) meant they somehow had strong connections to communism and, therefore, the USSR.
Tumblr media
The movement resulted the outing and firing of hundreds of queer people from government jobs (ranging from politicians, clerks, military personnel, and contractors working with the government) with the State Department reporting that by 1953, they had fired 425 people under allegations of homosexuality. It also resulted in Dwight D. Eisenhower's Executive Order 10450, which fully barred any "homosexuals" from working any positions in the federal government.
Tumblr media
EO 10450 was partially repealed in 1975 largely in response to young men using claims of homosexuality to dodge the Vietnam draft, and again in 1995 when the Bill Clinton administration instituted the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy for military personnel. It wasn't fully and completely repealed until 1998 with the Bill Clinton passing Executive Order 13087, which prohibited any such discrimination in federal employment and wasn't EXPLICITLY repealed until Barack Obama's Executive Order 13764 wich took effect in 2017.
Tumblr media
The cultural effect was an amplification of pre-existing societal homophobia to violent extremes and the promotion of the idea that queer people are inherently dangerous to "American freedom and democracy". Fun fact, Roy Cohn was actually a gay man who was very openly in sexual and romantic relationships with many men, even during The Lavender Scare, bit considered himself to be different from other gay men, basically because he was a dominant top. He died of AIDS while being part of the federal government's inaction campaign in response to the pandemic.
Tumblr media
If you want to read more about it, the Wikipedia page is a decent place to start.
The point I was making in regards to there being a 2nd Lavender Scare happening right now is in reference to the growing wave of targeted transphobic policies and violence from the political right and the liberal inaction in response to it.
I'd say that this new Lavender Scare started in 2017 with Trump's banning of trans people from entering the military and has continued to the present day when it is rapidly escalating with no end in sight.
Tumblr media
The main characteristics of this new scare, in my opinion are:
A targeting of trans people, gender non-conformity, and drag performance as subversive elements in society that pose a danger to the "traditional family", christian hegemony, and the wellbeing of children.
The platforming of extremist right-wing propaganda from various sources in mainstream media and political discourse, which all spout unified transphobic talking points that inspire discriminatory policies and violence through stochastic terrorism.
Transphobic policies being passed into law at a rapid pace on the state level in multiple states, with little to no federal intervention. (This refers to the US specifically)
Domestic stochastic terrorist attacks on queer spaces that prominently feature and support trans communities and drag performance, which are inspired by transphobic right-wing propaganda.
The boosting of TERF voices who pitch the same transphobic talking points as the right, from a pseudo-leftist perspective that serves as an alternate route of attack in the insemination of violent transphobia into the mainstream. (This is especially prevalent in the UK)
The "groomer" narrative, which links trans people, gender non-conformity, and drag performance to pedophilia in an effort to evoke strong emotional reactions from misinformed people prone to bigotry and reactionary thinking. This tactic can also be seen in action with the Q-Anon conspiracy cult.
Utilizing trans people, gender non-conformity, and drag performance as scapegoats for economic decline, political unrest, and poor quality of life in order to disract from the systems actually responsible for these problems.

I would also like to add that unlike the 1st Lavender Scare, this is not just an American phenomenon but part of a clear and roughly coordinated multinational right-wing movement and is presenting just as prevalently in the UK (albeit in a slightly different form). It is dangerous to leave this reactionary movement unstated and unnamed, lest is become normalized.

ok i didn't really want to do this because i deleted the original posts when it had only 70 notes because i was under the assumption noone would see it but t/xttletale ended up reblogging it anyway and now i have people telling me to kill myself in my inbox so i guess i might as well give details
Tumblr media
honestly did not know she was trans until people accused me of pedojacking her, for some reason it never registered because i guess i only see her blog when her posts pop up on my feed but you know my bad i guess
Tumblr media
2)yes it's true the term "loliporn" never shows up but someone does say "don't say you're pro-kink and nasty gay sex if you're not supportive of ageplay, cnc, or incest shipping" and than she said "yes, and" which like. seems slightly like an endorsement? but i assume that loliporn was just kind of included with the package, because i do have evidence that toonimal would not be against that
3) i never directly called her a pedophile just that it's really fucking bizzare to have that hot take about "wholesome games" when you agreed with a take that said not liking incest porn or ageplay is "anti-kink or whatever
Tumblr media
now did initially censor the names in the post because of reasons i'll explain later but i did realize with no context it looks like both posts were from the same person so i did end up mentioning in the tags that there were two different people before later deleting it all together. but i honestly don't feel THAT bad attributing it to her because she did both reblog the post and than also add on to it, which kind of negates the possibility she didn't fully read the post? still i did censor it again for reasons i'll explain later.
4) i kind of went out of my way to not attribute anything to her. when i talked about her weird stardew valley take i still censored them, because after being told to kill myself for having a lukewarm hot take on sex work last year i usually always censor posts when criticizng/making fun of them. i'm honestly surprised she managed to find it because i deleted it when it only had like 60 notes, and the only reason i found out she found it is because one of her followers sent be an ask telling me to kill myself. and out of curiousity i checked her blog.
Tumblr media
i deleted this post before i post this just so her follower doesn't get harassed or whatever. but you know. not fun.
and 5) while i insist i didn't directly accuse her of being a pedophile i DID in fact accuse the person she was agreeing with of being a pedohpile. cause they are.
Tumblr media
i'm not going to post the entire callout post cause it's honestly really fucking gross but tldr they run a "contact positive paraphilia forum" which is a basicly code for "actually fucking pedophiles" which kind of recontextualizes they entire post right? that's also why i went out of my way to censor txttletale's name and than later specify there were two different people before deleting it. because i assumed she didn't know the person she was agreeing with was an actual pedophile, but accidently agreeing with a pedophile is uh. not good. i think, someone actually informed her that toonimals was a pedophilia and she said this.
Tumblr media
now i'm not saying you have to do a background check on every person you reblog from but if that post talks about "how pro-sex freak people need to be more supportive of people who are into incest" than actually yeah you do sort of have an obligation to make sure they aren't an actual fucking pedophile. the entire basis of that post is "people should stop being mean to actual sex freaks" and you not only reblog it but add onto that yeah that's a fucking issue because 99 percent of time the people who make those posts ARE actual fucking pedophiles, so yeah you probably should be a bit wary. because like.
Tumblr media
this is my issue, i don't think you're a pedophile because you don't think there's anything wrong with fiction/sex acts that depict immoral things, my issue is that that logic is used and agreed upon by actual pedophiles. pedophiles are agreeing with you! that's not great! there's my issue with your logic!

aita for telling on a classmate??
(tw for homophobia and antisemitism)
🪻
(emoji so i can recognise it)
this is like really long, im sorry, i tend to ramble.
also my native language isnt english so i translated a few words i didnt really know with google translate which may be unreliable (talking specifically abt supervising teacher here, but i explained what it means just in case)
also i use all pronouns, listed my gender here as 'idk', so putting this here to clear it up
ok so this might sound really dumb but listen, in my (15idk) class there is this one guy, lets call him wit (15m) and ever since we started high school he's been really troublesome for other people. for further context hes very strongly catholic and frequently talks about his political opinions.
many students of our scholl agree that this would not be much of a problem if he kept at least some respect for others while doing it. wit is infamous in our school for making extremely homophobic and antisemetic comments, ranging from usage of derogatory language and insulting a guy in our class because he's partially ethnically jewish, to stating that homosexuality and transgenderism is mental illness, to saying gays should get shot, making up crazy statistics about pedophilia in the lgbtq+ community and taking a photo of himself doing the nazi salute while holding the flag of the third reich (we live in a country very heavily affected by the holocaust to this day. jesus christ dude). (note that our school has a quite large number of queer people so making these comments in such a public space is already a bit iffy imo.) he also states his opinions as fact, and when somebody tries to debate him on these things (he claims he's up for it) he keeps interrupting them, and in some cases calls them an idiot.
wit actually was in another class before, he switched to ours because his classmates and supervising teacher (translation might be wrong, went off google translate - i mean the teacher held responsible for what the kids in their class do) couldn't stand him (there are rumors that he tried to sue her actually?). our supervising teacher (29m) is well aware of this.
today, he was grading us on our behavior (idk if american schools do this?? it has to end up on our report cards at the end of the year here, we're graded once per semester) and the topic of wit's behavior came up. the day before this, he had gotten into an argument with this one girl, let's call her gabby (15f), because she had 'taken his seat' in our physics class (we don't have assigned seats, and the teacher invited a few kids from another class to write some missed assignments, so there were more students than chairs). wit started off calm, when gabby told him she was there first, he got mad and started shouting at her, and when she didn't want to give up her seat for him (she was calm about this!), he started to attempt to physically get her off the seat by pulling or pushing her off. as far as i know, three people in our class recorded this exchange.
wit got graded 5/6 for his behavior (very good) after our teacher vowed to lower it because of the amount of complaints he was getting about his behavior. this was before our teacher found out about yesterday's situation. today we had two classes with him and he was going to dedicate both to talking about our behavior grades, so we told him about how wit acted yesterday. our teacher was reasonably a little pissed at wit for getting physical, as well as shouting at a classmate. wit tried to defens himself saying he was calmly telling 'this unruly, undeserving of such respect girl' to piss off, but as i said, several people in our class had video evidence of what he did.
the conversation quickly shifted from just the fight in physics to wit's respect for others (or, more appropriately, the lackthereof). this is when his rampant homophobia was brought up. several people in our class voiced their concerns about how most of us feel really uncomfortable when this dude's out there wishing death on all queers. our teacher was really mad at him for continuing making his homophobia this public when he was already repeatedly told that he makes people uncomfortable with it. we also brought up him calling people who dare not have the same beliefs as him idiots and left-wingers (as an?? insult??).
wit's behavior grade was changed to 4/6 (good)
after class, our class president (15f) and i went up to our teacher to show him screenshots of wit being transphobic, not to humiliate him further, but to provide proof of the claims about him still openly hating the lgbtq.
wit seemed to notice this because a few hours after school he texted me to talk about this situation. it started with him being frustrated about getting a 4, then saying he believes he should get at LEAST a 5 (note: he cited 'i respect others' as a reason, lol) and then it very quickly spiraled into him shit-talking gabby and our class president (he called gabby 'wild' and our prez toxic). i told him that he should be happy hes only being graded based on two months (our teacher said he's only taking the time wit was in our class into account, imo this isnt fair at all but ok), when his behavior was somehow better here than previously and that the girls deserved their grades (gabby got a 5, prez got a 6, both are very helpful and in my experience very kind people) and that the reason his grade was lowered was because of the lack of respect for others he was demonstrating right in that moment. he then said i was fake and called me a kabel (polish slang for snitch basically)
i talked to my parents about today, and they said wit is a bad person, but is in the right in my conversation with him. i disagree tbh but im also not entirely convinced im right either because i might have taken it a bit far, but idk, aita??
also im so so so sorry this ended up being ao long, i didn't realize how chaotic this story is until i wrote it all down lol
What are these acronyms?

Apparently the actor who plays Eddie was posting antisemitic stuff (comparing the US mask mandates to Nazi Germany). He never apologized I think. I was wondering if you had any thoughts on that. I’m mad that an actor I like has such awful views on these things but i’m separating him from Eddie in my mind so he doesn’t ruin that
Hi Nonnie! As the Holocaust is a very serious subject, I’m putting my reply under a cut.
Let me start by pointing out that yes, it is VERY problematic to compare the Holocaust to... basically any other event in human history. At most you can compare it to other cases of genocide in order to better understand the different reasons why the Holocaust is considered by the overwhelming majority of reputable historians to be the most extreme genocide ever committed (and please make this comparison for that purpose and ONLY that purpose, not to minimize or dismiss ANY case of genocide. The only reason why we make this comparison is in order to learn from it, so we can PREVENT the repetition of the elements that made the Holocaust so extreme).
The problem is that when people have debates that they wanna make sure they win, basically by shutting down any room for argument, they compare something or label something / someone as the worst thing that these people can think of. If that’s racism, then these people will shout that the thing / person is racist, if it’s pedophilia then that would be the accusation (and this relates to fandom history, there used to be groups of “concerned parents” - and I’m sure some of those people were NOT parents - trying to have gay fan fic removed using pedophilia allegations), and in a lot of political debates, it strikes people like the worst thing that they can compare stuff to is the Nazis / Holocaust.
Which means that there is an ALARMINGLY growing number of things that are way too often compared to the Holocaust. And now I’ll try to explain why this is such an issue.
So imagine an alien arriving on Earth and coming across people discussing this unknown human word, “murder.” Unless the people are very specific about the details (which people don’t tend to be when discussing something as terrible as a murder), the alien is likely to get the impression that murder is a thing that is Very Bad, but not exactly what makes it so bad. As this alien continues to explore the planet, let’s say they come across an incident of theft. They know theft is Very Bad, but because they have no real understanding of whether it’s As Bad as murder, yet they know they wanna raise the alarm on this Very Bad thing they saw happening, they will try to get people riled up by telling them a “murder” has taken place. Notice, this isn’t even a case where the alien has bad intentions! And yet, what does this cause? It makes the theft seem much worse than it actually is, because people think that it’s murder. So when the thief is caught? They might be punished as severely as a murderer would be, not as a thief would. At the same time, it means that fellow aliens who might be there, and learning from their friend’s experience, who don’t have a proper idea of “murder” either, will believe it’s As Bad as theft.
Okay, weird metaphor, but I hope it works, because the point is most people ARE a bit like aliens when it comes to the Holocaust (or the subject of genocide in general). Most of us don’t spend our lives studying the extreme nature of what the Nazis and their collaborators did. We generally get that millions of people were murdered, that it was Very Bad, but we don’t FULLY understand all the ways in which the Holocaust was this abominable. And I say this as a tour guide at a Holocaust museum. I have seen with my own eyes the reactions of people who thought they understood the Holocaust and came to realize it was so much worse than their notion of it as I talked to them about the processes, the different stages of the Holocaust, and the details.
Now, when someone compares incorrectly to the Holocaust they do two things. They make the other thing, the one they’re comparing to the Holocaust, seem worse than it is, basically they get a theft to be treated as if it were murder. That’s why so many are willing to make these unworthy comparisons to the Holocaust, because they want THAT effect. At the same time, there are many people who are simply ignorant, like the alien in our metaphor. They don’t properly comprehend the Holocaust, they have no other point of proper comparison, so they use that one, believing they’re making a worthy comparison and not understanding in what ways it isn’t. And then there are the fellow aliens, the people exposed to this discourse, who don’t fully understand the nature of the Holocaust either, but when they hear such comparisons, their understanding of it is actually being actively harmed, because they start to understand “murder” a little closer to theft. Even if they reject the idea that it is exactly like theft, the issue is that we tend to understand differences between abstract notions in relative terms, so even if we get that there is a big gap between “murder” and “theft,” the very fact that we discuss these notions together makes our perception of the gap shrink a little, as the very fact we’re discussing them together forces us to bring them into the same frame, partly closing the distance between them. In other words, it causes a MINIMIZATION of the Holocaust. Which is something we refer as one of the ways the Holocaust can be distorted. And this is the part that, if done intentionally, is antisemitic.
The comparison in the post that Ryan saw and shared is a horrible one, with real and awful consequences. Posts like that NEED to be discouraged, without reservation! From anyone!
That said, I can’t tell you for sure that what he did was intentional. Sadly, making this comparisons is incredibly common, and has been repeated by countless people (including ignorant Jews), some of it done with malicious intent, some out of ignorance. So there is no possibility to look at a post like that and right away know if it was intended to distort the Holocaust and harm Jews. In fact, Holocaust comparisons are not the only form of antisemitic content that is not perceived as such, and therefore you’re very likely to see it being spread by people who don’t necessarily mean any harm to Jews. I can tell you Oliver has shared such a post as well on one of his social media accounts, too. I can tell you I’ve stopped looking at celebs’ social media in general, because I was far too often unpleasantly surprised. In other words, I haven’t looked at anything posted by others in the 911 cast, but I suspect I’d find content harmful to Jews there as well. This is just as true for other celebs, outside the 911 fandom as well. Your fave, in at least one fandom, has probably posted antisemitic content, maybe without even realizing that this is what they were sharing. In the 911 fandom too, I can’t tell you how many posts like that I’ve come across. People who are not necessarily antisemitic, but they don’t understand the content they come across, so they reblog without full comprehension posts that are harmful to Jews.
I think this is a failure of our education systems across the globe. So my issue is not with Ryan or Oliver, who IDEK if they fully understand the harm of their posts. My issue is on a much higher level. We can and absolutely should point it out whenever we come across antisemitic content! We should not, however, automatically assume antisemitic intent. And I wanna hope that if we do that, if we give people the benefit of the doubt, they might be more open to hearing us out, being educated and changing their ways. IDK if anyone has approached Ryan and had such a conversation with him. I know at the time, I was in a bad place personally and did not have the resources to even attempt that. I hope someone, at some point, did explain it to him, and I’m very grateful that we haven’t seen anything like it from him since. But if you ask me what needs to be done, it has to be something so much bigger, on a societal level.
Have a good day, Nonnie! As always, here’s my ask tag.

This might be a bit of a broad question, but what do you think makes a piece a media Timeless?
Is the sum of its parts or do you think its something in particular
So this is a subject that is both really simple and the answer sounds obvious but also is one of those things that can get lost in being pedantic. Worse yet, I feel like you might be asking this with the mindset of how most people talk about timeless works in that they're also commonly considered classics.
These two are not synonymous. The sum of somethings parts usually being greater than the whole while every individual piece is great is what commonly makes something a classic. Spiderverse, the first one and potentially the whole trilogy if it sticks its landing, will be considered classics because those movies are great in each part but combined together they're absolutely incredible.
This also makes what is a classic or not up for debate. If you don't like Shakespeare, you won't consider Romeo and Juliet a classic. You'll see it as over dramatic pedophilia potentially. (Not my opinion but I've seen more than one person like to do the modern 'criticism' angle towards Romeo and Juliet because of the ages of the two leads, not taking into account that that was probably pretty common back then.)
They're timeless however because of one thing: Audience resonance. Or, in other words, themes, and commonly how universal they are. This makes them much less up for debate.
After all, there are fantasy works that are timeless. That shouldn't be possible, right? I mean, they're set in medieval times for many works so the technology, social structure and even priorities of those characters shouldn't function for a modern society, right? Or hell, for something less bluntly absurd, just look at It's a Wonderful Life. The main character in that movie runs a successful business, has a wife and two kids and a full group of friends and allies and he's considered as just doing alright. To a modern millennial, that is an INSANE amount of wealth and could make the main character much less likable.
But to most, he truly is the good every man. Not just in that he does good things but in the doubting. In the jealousy. Mr. Bailey is by no means a perfect soul, but his soul does indeed shine bright. It's so easy to compare ourselves to others though. To always think we're not doing enough or not see the good we're putting into the world. The idea that all we make is mistakes and even if we're not literally worth more dead, we would do less harm if we were dead.
To any empathetic soul, this makes It's a Wonderful Life easily a timeless movie. It doesn't matter if what George Bailey faces is different from our modern context, what matters is that he is going through life, just like we all are.
This is actually something that a lot of bigots close a blind eye to. "How am I supposed to relate to this if the character is gay/black/a jew, trans, etc.? I'm not any of those things so it must be impossible for me to connect to this work!" They believe that racial background is everything. That you must have lived those experiences in order to connect with them.
We are all human though. No amount of time will ever change that what beats in our very beings is the same. How that manifests in personality, skin, gender, religion, etc. like that doesn't matter. We all face fear, anxiety, anger, joy, passion, etc. A common laborer with no ambitions can still connect to a mad scientist on the screen because the same feeling that scientist feels when he screams "IT'S ALIVE!" is the same joy of success and passion that that office worker gets when he puts down the last piece of a ten thousand piece jigsaw puzzle.
And while I say whether something is or isn't timeless isn't really up for debate, what is is whether it connects to you. I have two relatives who don't like It's a Wonderful Life. They are some of the most financially motivated and petty people I know, at least that are close to me. And neither are my brother shockingly enough, who loves the movie too.
I won't say that just because I try to have a universal outlook on things that I could connect to a story that is strictly that of an African American. I didn't have to live through the prejudice many of them face because of the color of my own skin. I can try my best to empathize though. That when they tell their stories and let their anger and frustration be known, I can try to connect with those emotions so I can better attempt to see the world through their eyes, if even briefly.
This is much of why while I write a lot of sapphic fiction, I root a lot of those elements in emotions like love, anxiety, fear, shame, etc. because I understand those emotions. I lack the specifics to make it resonate 100% with a sapphic reader, which is why I do recommend people check out proper sapphic writers if that's what they're wanting most of my works, but I can try to make it emotionally honest enough that they can see some part of themselves in the work.
Honestly, to me, what makes a work timeless actually makes anything that's emotionally earnest, and at least a 6 or7/10, hard NOT to be timeless. It also makes it damn near impossible for a work to have NO ONE who considers it timeless.
It just needs to be able to resonate and if you're worth anything as a writer, that resonance should simply be a part of your process. After all, your work should at least resonate with one person: You. Because if you don't enjoy it, why are you writing it?

What first got you into writing? How did you develop your style? And have you got any tips for other budding writers out there? Also who are your favourite authors and poets?
this got LONG but i'm going to tell myself you were ASKING FOR THAT and take a breath a;ldfkjwo;dfjsf
i can't remember if my inuyasha self-insert fic days predated my gaiaonline roleplaying days, but it was one of the two! definitely entirely a form of escape from a very painful and lonely life, but i think it was actually several years after i started definitionally Writing™ before i got into it, you know? i don't remember what kickstarted it, but somewhere along the way, i realized that i could really do whatever i wanted to, and i discovered figurative language and non-linear storytelling really went hogwild on some super niche death note fics ;alkfjwd and from there i started writing prose-poetry and really just. splashing around in there. i've been a musician my whole life, and it was like i'd realized that i could put music into the written word, like i wrote entirely for the way things tripped off my internal ear—like this one line from a poem i wrote when i was 14 still sticks with me, Leaves stain, leaves stains (rough obviously, but it was my first foray into writing about visual imagery that stuck in my sad little head)
my style started as its own nascent messy little thing, and like. man, people on here don't talk about Lolita because. you know. it's literally the apotheosis of the stuff that gets people wound-up in fandom spaces? literally a novel about SA and pedophilia and grooming—but the thing is, there's a reason it's considered a central part of the western literary canon, and that book revolutionized me as a writer. nabokov's entire thing really is just. ear-worms as text, like i cannot even express how often i still think "I am just winking happy thoughts into a little tiddle cup", or how many times i'll echolalia my way through this one line from the intro bit of the book: "Lo-Le-Ta: The tip of the tongue taking a trip of three steps down the palate to tap, at three, on the teeth." take or leave the content of the book, nabokov does it like none other—or he did until ocean vuong published On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous, which is just. idk if you haven't read it, please please please, do yourself a favor and make space for it. it's the most effecting book i've ever read, as well as the most gorgeous and the most lovingly, grievingly composed.
You once told me that the human eye is god's loneliest creation. How so much of the world passes through the pupil and still it holds nothing. The eye, alone in its socket, doesn't even know there's another one, just like it, an inch away, just as hugry, as empty. Opening the front door to the first snowfall of my life, you whispered, "Look."
if i can ever write a single sentence that pins the wide universe and the complex sorrow and joy of the human experience in place the way ocean vuong does, i will die happy. honestly.
favorite authors/poets is in vein with that last bit, but the short list anyway:
ocean vuong, esp On Earth We're Briefly Gorgeous (novel) and Time is a Mother (poetry)
maggie stiefvater, specifically The Raven Cycle—i could (and have) gone on for hours about the way she puts her readers into a tactile, vivid world, and her singular skill for spinning characters so contradictory and multifaceted that, to my mind, they're whole entire people, instead of the archetypes or loving stereotypes of most other fiction
richard siken, for Crush, which. i mean, i'm a gay man obsessed with words, this one really goes without saying lmao, if you read nothing else from it, read Snow and Dirty Rain. it is my gospel and my lifeblood, i have it memorized and still i reread it every week.
katherine addison taught me so much about storytelling, unreliable narrators, and the complexities of healing/trauma recovery while contending with rigid society (tragically pertinent to our present lives)—her Chronicles of Osreth (comprised of The Goblin Emperor, Witness for the Dead and The Grief of Stones)
maggie nelson, both for Bluets and The Argonauts
becky chambers—Psalm for the Wild-Built altered me as a person, it is gorgeous and soaring and humble and such a necessary book
donna tartt, obviously
anne carson, also obviously
freya marske—will read anything she ever writes, her language is lush, her worldbuilding is unique and spectacular, and her smut is HOT
alexandra rowland, for the same reasons as freya marske, but also their characters are so stunningly sympathetic, as well as really loving examples of neurodivergence in fiction (evemer hoşkadem, my deeply autistic beloved)
robin hobb really writes a toxic, complicated relationship saga like none other, i am stunningly enraged by Realm of the Edlerlings and also am physically incapable of not thinking about it constantly
and then there's the authors who taught me about magic: Garth Nix (The Old Kingdom Series), Holly Black (Modern Faerie Tales), Tamora Pierce (Protector of the Small), and Francesca Lia Block (Weetzie Bat)
writer tips!!!!!! this is hokey, but honestly my main advice is READ and also HAVE FUN. storytelling is the oldest human act, and language is the show where everything's made-up and the points don't matter. language is a sandbox, and it's there for you to literally just fuck around in. it can be whatever you want—it can be your raison d'être as a writer, but also it can be incidental. it can be a means to an end, economical, and some of the best stories are taken with that approach. but also you can paint with language, if you want to. you can compose music with it. you can do whatever suits your fancy.
my second tip is WORD COUNT DOESN'T MATTER. stop counting. stop stop stop holding yourself to the weird, quantity-obsessed writer culture. 2,000 words a day? nobody has time for that except full-time writers or those really rare writers who blink and 5k words fall onto the page. personally, if i'm sitting down to write and i'm really determined to actually get something onto the page, whether or not it's necessarily good, i'll force out 200 words. 200! i can't remember where i got this tip, but the point of that number is that 200 words is attainable even on the most blocked day, and by the time you hit your 200th word, you're gonna be in the middle of a sentence or a thought that you'll have to finish, and you end up with 300. or you hit 200 and you've broken through the fog and warmed up to it, and you leave with 700 or 1,500 (or a couple wild times for me, 5k).
my third tip: if you're a writer, EVERYTHING IS WRITING. this goes for art, music, literally any creative pursuit. walking out your door in the morning is writing, because you're learning things about the world, you're processing stimuli, your wheels are never not spinning. every video game you play, every show you watch, every fic you read is inherently a generative act, because that story is entering your store of knowledge to be processed and synthesized and lend you inspiration for the kinds of stories you want to tell, or the characters you want to make, or even the kinds of things you want to avoid as a creator. i can't tell you how much i've learned from games (Outer Wilds, i'm lookin at you!!) or tv (Station Eleven....) or music (Joanna Newsom really should be on my list of authors) or fanfiction (if you're a goblin emperor beastie and you haven't read celebros's Blackbird series, RUN, don't walk. i learned literally everything about creating character conflict within a framework of love that really motivates characters to work at it and not just get angry and walk away, and i remain uhhHHH fuckin Gobsmacked and reeling that she wants to write with ME a;lkdjfalw;dfs also literally one of my most formative collaborative and creative experiences came from reading kingdom hearts fanfiction in 2010, so) so!!!! just live your life!!! think about what makes you tick, what makes stories tick, think about the stars or birds or the history of glassblowing, whatever lights you up, and that energy will find its way into the things you make.
oh and also NEVER FEEL BAD FOR TAKING BREAKS. and i don't mean a 5-minute break, or a few days. i mean weeks. i mean months or years or what-have-you. sometimes it's just not there, and that's not a failing. your creations aren't content, they're little critters you make with love, and you can't love a thing you're banging your head against day and night. take breaks. allow yourself ebbs and flows in your creativity. everything hibernates, and i promise it'll wake up again and it'll be better than you left it.
end point: i Love You, and if you're writing or hoping to write or planning to write, i love your writing, too, nascent or tangible.

Ok... Let's go over this point by point.
Almost Racist over a local food: All I did was post about thinking Balut was repulsive. I didn't even know where it was from, I just learned about it and thought my disgust was post worthy. I do not know how that constitutes almost racism.
Calling Rookie the "E-Slur": I had literally no idea that Eskimo was a slur to anybody. I thought they were just a group of people that used to live in Alaska, you know, a really cold place. I thought it fit, and was completely oblivious to the apparent status of the word.
Pedophilia: I don't know how people who've been 16 for 9 days can be pedophiles. But, you know what? Maybe, enlightening me by talking to me instead of sniping at me in a discord you know I'm not in and screenshots you know I can't see would help, you fucking coward. And before anyone says anything, all I did was talk about not liking Rookie. Rookie here is directly slandering me. There is a difference.
Refer to point 2.
Ableism and Classism, and saying Rookie isn't human: I have no recollection of this, sadly, so I cannot say anything. From the rest of this, however, I struggle to approach it in good faith.
Wanting to kidnap Angel: Yes, I have an obsessive streak, and fantasize about kidnapping my girlfriend. I am a Jason Dean kinnie for a reason, heh. But, I know these things are wrong, and would never actually do it. Plus, if you actually talked to Angel, you would know that not only do they not mind, they sometimes enjoy indulging in the idea of me being hyper possessive and controlling. So, yeah.
Openly talked about wanting to get SA'd: Yes. I get off on the idea of being raped and tagged it appropriately so people who I know followed me and would be triggered didn't see it. I'm sorry for having a fetish/kink that you don't like. I can't control it, so painting me as a bad person for it seems a bit unethical, but oh well.
Jokes that my gay friends made me homophobic: I remember joking about my gay friends making me gay, not that. But, you know what, to be fair, let's say I did both. Guess what? They were jokes. If they really offended you that badly, that's your problem, not mine.
Is Transphobic: I will admit, I am uneducated on transgender people, gender dysmorphia, and the likes. I probably said some ignorant shit. But I don't hate trans people, far from it. It's how they want to live their lives, it has no effect on me or basically anybody around them, so, it's fine by me. Am I problematic with many opinions I have simply not shared on here? Probably. Do I hate an entire group of people for wanting to do something to their own body and identifying their way? No.
Misgendering Rookie: I probably have. If you ever corrected me and told me what I should say instead, that be nice. Don't ever remember that happening, though.
Said I want Rookie dead: No, I posted a meme. A "blocking them isn't enough I want them dead" meme. I am a hyperbolic and emotional person who makes hyperbolic and emotional jokes and statements. Deal with it, or don't and leave me alone. Don't try and paint me as a monster for it.
I took away all Rookies friends: ...What the fuck are you talking about?
And finally... @shadestar413. Now I understand why you are only answering in private. You're trying to keep the peace between two of your friends who are arguing. I understand that, and am sorry I caused this to happen. I just hope this helps you realize which side to be on.
And with that done...
Fuck you Rookie. Sophia, would you help me spread this around to help people realize the truth? This request goes out to other people who see and are willing to help, too.

i'm so sorry you went through all of that i cant even imagine how traumatic this must be. i really hope that those 'nymphette' girls will finally realise how much harm they do by romanticising lolita, a story about abuse and pedophilia. i saw an underage girl complaining that she gets creepy old men in her imbox which is terrible obviously but her blog was full of sugar daddy posts, photos and gifs from lolita and that really weird soft porn of women dressed like kids and wearing pigtails if you know what i'm talking about, it's very repulsive. the older 'coquette nymphette' women are literally grooming girls to find those things desirable and romantic and its so gross. and obviously pedophiles are the most disgusting and terrible type people and i actually think that they deserve the death penalty but maybe don't post things that explicitly cather to them. our entire culture is based around pedophilic beauty standards, hence the shaving debate from earlier, it's so scary
again, i'm so sorry you went through all of that and even if it sounds like a cliche, you're so strong for recovering and continuing to live your life the girls and the gays love you <3
thank u babe ur so sweet <3 and yes ur so right its sick and sad. glamourising and romanticising that shit for young teenage girls to be seduced by is so sick bc it makes predatory men flock to them and puts them in a very uncomfortable position. the young girls think they will get a dreamy sophisticated young jeremy irons writing poems about them but as we adults know, thats not the case at all and thats just not reality, very very far from it. if these girls learned what these men are like in reality outside of their teenage fantasy they would get grossed out and creeped out immidiately and not want to seek it out. it fucks with a teenage girls brain to be fetishised purely bc of her age/being a teen like her self image will be very bad and she will put all her worth as a woman into her youth and it will cause her so much self esteem issues and anxiety. at least teens nowadays seem to be a bit more aware about this type of thing then our generation was and i see alot of them taking a stance against it and discourage it which im very happy about. say what u will about todays teenagers but they are very much more aware of predatory behavior now and are not as scared to speak up when they notice it which is so amazing and gives me hope

honestly a relief to hear that you didnt know about it! the petty infighting is exhausting and feels so universal when youve been in spaces where it is the way of things. and yeah you nailed it with the supposition that trans men have it easier bc we arent always actively demonized the way trans women are in the current transphobic zeitgeist... for some reason people have flatly accepted the narrative "terfs want to Save females from transition" as if forced detransition and medical neglect and sexual violence (among other violences) to Fix us into being breeding stock is something to be happy and humble and quiet about. and further as if trans men *arent* ever demonized as predators seducing away young women -- we get called lost lesbians and butches, but the butches and lesbians of yesteryear were also predators seducing girls away from proper womanhood. and thats not even getting into baeddelist horseshit. its all so maddening.
This is something me and my mom talk about sometimes.
My step-mom fell down the alt-right pipeline, so she's constantly spewing some garbage about how transgenders are a threat to children, even going so far as to lightly suggest I was a pedophile when I came out to her. But my mom acknowledged a trend in that regard.
Gay men were seen as pedophiles in the last moral panic. Trans women will be seen as pedophiles in this moral panic, until it ends. I think it's fair to call this the misandristic side of homophobia. We are perceived as queer men, so we are persecuted in a way that applies to queer men: accusations of pedophilia. So, it's interesting to me to see how it works on the misogynistic side of homophobia.
Also, I find it really funny that lesbians, and now trans men, are accused of seducing girls away from their "proper" lives, because in my mind the only way that would work is if the lesbians and trans men have better fucking lifestyles. You can't exactly seduce someone without being tempting, can you? Don't point that out to a TERF though, because if you do they'll internalize it and god only knows what would come from that...
Anyway, yeah, fuck all of this. If trans men are so dangerous(?) to trans women then I'll just wait to get bit in the ass by one, which presently hasn't happened.
At the very least, it seems way more useful to direct our attention towards the actual threat to our existence posed by transphobic legislators instead of to random trans people who are threatened by the same things as us but might also be a threat somehow in some shaky way that doesn't make any fucking sense.

I think an awful lot of anti-abortion types do not in fact believe abortion is murder. (Some do, and that sucks for them. I’m completely serious about this btw, if you believed that whatever number of abortions are performed in whatever amount of time are actually child murders and most people just go about their life like no big, you’d go bugfuck insane over it too.) Rather, they pull out the idea of child murder as a rhetorical tool, because once “ok but is it murder or not?” is on the table, then talking about generational poverty and individual rights and the way becoming a mother fucks up a women’s lifetime earnings and so on, just seems petty and irrelevant in comparison. If they had to argue it on “but premarital sex is bad” grounds they’d get trounced; when they argue it on “murder” grounds they can stop open minded liberals from just tearing them to pieces. Because who wants to be insensitive about murder?
It’s the same thing with equating sex ed with grooming. As far as I can tell the people who come up with this nonsense don’t actually believe it (doesn’t mean other people don’t though, if nobody believed it it wouldn’t work.) But, when you’ve got accusations of pedophilia out there, some people are going to stop in confusion rather than rushing in to argue. It’s like getting sand thrown in your face.
(Same thing with associating gay people and pedophilia, same thing with the old school blood libel against Jewish people…you make an accusation that’s sufficiently heinous and even if it’s pulled out of thin air you can still get a lot of people to instantly stop thinking and only feel for a bit.)
Oh, I forgot to argue for why I think the “abortion is murder” argument is largely made up rather than a genuine belief. Logically, if life begins at conception and abortion is child murder, then it would follow that 1. miscarriage would also be child death, and should be treated like it (which does not happen, it is not typical for pregnant people who lose a baby to miscarriage early in the pregnancy to get the same level of sympathy and condolences as someone who’s had an actual already-born infant die (even when the pregnancy is wanted) although yes, it is treated as sad and unfortunate, and yes, when things go wrong in the worst possibly way late in the pregnancy that’s much more likely to be treated like losing a child, it’s almost like the beginning and end of a pregnancy aren’t the same thing) and 2. IVF would also be child murder, because IVF works by trying to fertilize more eggs than you actually need, and typically extra fertilized embryos that don’t get implanted just get thrown out. This is normal, and generally speaking anti-abortion types find some way to wiggle out of it being literally the same thing by “life begins at conception” standards. Because they’re in favor of IVF and against abortion — for reasons that are not in fact about child murder.
(That’s also why the #1 most reliable way to reduce abortions, promoting birth control and making it easily available, is almost always opposed by anti abortion people. Because it’s not about preventing child murder, that’s just a rhetorical tool.) (they also tend to be against the other reliable way to reduce abortions: the main reason people have abortions is they can’t afford a child, and part of that is about how solid government support is.)
Again, not saying that everyone who is against abortion is that way, but I think the most powerful ones are. The ones who are framing the debate.
One of the things that happens with framing the debate this way, is that even arguing against the anti-abortion “it’s murder” position undermines a pro-abortion position. Because you’re busy arguing with this ludicrous, asinine premise rather than talking about what’s really going on, which is that the rich and powerful and very very white — and very, very heartless — find it beneficial to them to have more babies around that need homes, and more wealth inequality, and more gender inequality, and more ways for those in power to exert control over those with less power.
On multiple levels. If you’re a boss and your employees can’t afford to lose their job because their kids will go hungry, that’s good for you. If you have a mistress who can only get an abortion if you arrange it for her, that’s also good for you. If you have a daughter who can’t have sex with someone you don’t like without risking ruining her life, you see where I’m going with this? And if you happen not to be able to have your own kids, and you’re a selfish asswipe who doesn’t care about anyone else’s wellbeing, it is in your interest to have a wide pool of of healthy infants (preferably with your skin color, usually) to adopt from. No matter what happens to the less healthy or a little too old or otherwise not easily adoptable ones. Just like if you’re an employer who doesn’t give a shit about anyone, you want a lot of prospective employees to choose from and you want them to not have too many options of their own, and if that means there’s a lot of unemployment and poverty-related suffering who cares, you got yours.
And if you want to cover up that that’s what you want? Make the other side out to be monsters.

newsflash: people reblog objectively correct posts without knowing the CROSS SITE DISCOURSE of OP all the time. she didn’t fucking know who op was until people told her (which you can do if you care, instead of calling someone a pedo supporter behind her back). she has been vocal about not supporting rape or pedophilia, and yet your dumbass posts are talking about her linking ‘’’loliporn’’’ to being queer for literally no reason aside from one reblog that lacked context. everyone has blind spots, yet for this single one of hers, one that she has clarified her stance on over and over, you say all this about her supporting whatever sex crime feels easiest to accuse her of! the least you can do is apologize
even if she didn't reblog from an actual pedophile i still would made fun of her for agreeing with a post that said "you're a fake queer if you don't support incest fantasies" cause even if that's not morally abhorrent that's a still a fucking stupid thing to say. i never even straight up called her a pedophile i said she "thought loliporn was queer expression" which was just a roundabout way of saying "she reblogged and added on to a post that said "don't say your pro kink if you don't support ageplay, , or incest fantasies" but apparently there's a such a wild difference between "loliporn" and "age play and incest fantasies" that she views the former as such a wild condemnation but the latter is perfectly harmless and not even worth caring about.
like again even if the original post she reblogged wasn't written by an actual pedophile i would of still made fun of her (while keeping censoring her name which i did but that didn't seem to work i guess) for it because it's a bad fucking post. i made fun of it actually way before i even saw her stupid stardew valley post. i made a post talking about how it's perfectly fine to have standards between "weird kinks that are perfectly fine that you should probably ignore" and "weird kinks that are actually potentially harmful" because i think not having any standards with "people's fantasies" as if they inherently exist in a vacuum in really dumb! and bad!
but i think i do need to stress that i did not know she was a trans woman when i made my post, and in fact i have made similar posts about people who were cis women or cis men or trans men or non binary, people of all genders and sexualities, that had bad opinions on incest kink. there was this pretty popular cis gay bara artist who drew alot of incest porn and porn of underaged male characters (but "aged up") and it honestly made me uncomfortable but i kind of bit my tongue because they were popular and i didn't want to rock the boat, and than later they got called for having a sideblog where they drew actually straight up toddler porn and than i didn't feel so bad about being suspicious.
so bascially i do not think she's a pedophile, i never thought she was a pedophile, i made a post vagueing her for having a bizzare take on a video game while thinking that "loliporn" was something worth defending because she reblogged and agreed with a post saying "don't say you love kinks and sex freaks if you aren't supportive of actual sex freaks who enjoy ageplay, and incest shipping" and i assumed loliporn was included in that, because why wouldn't it be, it's "fictional age play" if she doesn't think loliporn is good that's great but weird with her reblogging and agreeing with said post, but basically no i don't think she's a pedophile. i think she just has a really bad opinions. if she thinks actual pedophilia is bad that's wonderful great, noble peace prize, but if she still think "incest and ageplay fantasies" are "above criticism" because some queer people have them. uh no i disagree, i don't think she's a "bad person" for having them but uh. not that's really dumb

(part of my last ask)
Have you ever had people with sexualitys that are rarely heard or spoken about? Like abrosexual? ( my sexuality c: )
And have y'all had to deal with people that have unvalid sexualitys, or made up ones? If you know what I mean-
[I will answer that second part because it's a bit heavy to do in character, at least to me. I would say that they have dealt with that kind of stuff. If it's something that kids and young teens are doing and saying they are, then the animatronics let them be most of the time, though they will try to educate them on possible homophobia or transphobia that could come with the "made up" labels.
As for the invalid ones (which I can only think of Pedophilia and Bestiality, but I'm sure there are others) then yes. That is unfortunately something that has occurred since the Pizzaplex is very popular and attracts all kinds of people. Most of the time the people are asked to leave if there are no actual legalities that could get the arrested, but when there is any kind of proof to what they "identify" as, then the police are called.
I personally don't know how to handle a situation that would involve those kinds of thins. The only situations I can THINK of that would have those people SHOW their "sexualities" are ones where thorough investigations and legal actions are required and I don't want to get into that kind of topic or ideas because they can be very heavy and triggering for some people. So that's all I have to say about that second half of your ask.]
Freddy: We try our best to keep up with all the different labels and micro identities that pop up, but it is hard to always be on top of things. If we find a new identity that we don't know about, we just ask and try to support that person! Just because someone identifies as a demigirl, abrosexual, aegosexual, or any other mirco identity, doesn't mean they are invalid! Some people just prefer to have a very defined version of themself, while others are more open to more general labels!
______________
Chica: Yup! Absolutely! We've had plenty of people come up and talk to us about their micro identities, or their neopronouns, and you can see it in their face that they feel very anxious, but when we say they are valid and okay, their faces light up!
Roxy: I don't really understand HALF of the stuff I've been told, but hey! It's not my place to say how people should feel. If someone feels empowered by their label, then let them have it!
______________
Monty: I've heard tons of random stuff people come up to me with! It's totally awesome! This one teen came up to me and told me about libragenders and all kinds of stuff! Like libramasculine, librafeminine, and lirbafluid! It was really super cool!
I told DJ about it and he liked libramasculine so much and felt it fit that he started using it! See, you don't get to see cool shit like that, helping people figure out who they are, by being a bigot! Sure, I sometimes word things the wrong way, and have had people take my words with bad faith, but like, I never diss someone for thinking or feeling line one thing over the other! It's cool seeing people talk about themselves with pride!
______________
DJMM: I don't get a lot of people come up to me and tell me their identities. There have been a few, but it was more for a song request. Where someone wanted a genderqueer song and I had no idea what that was at first, so they explained it to me and I did my best to search my library for one that would fit.
I honestly wish more people would tell me about their identities! I had to find mine out through Monty after he was talking about some of the identities that kids were telling him.
______________
Sun: Not really! Most of the kids in the Daycare don't even know what gay or lesbian is! Or even things about transgender or nonbinary people! It's honestly really sad what some of them don't know, or what they repeat from their parents....
Moon: "Sometimes a teen will come in to pick up a sibling and they have a pride button on that we never seen. We usually ask politely what it means and they go on a whole spiel about their identity and whatnot. It's really nice to see, especially if the kid is happy to be heard by someone else, even if that someone is just a robot."

Another bi women used lesbianism to shock her parents instead of actually considering what she was attracted to :) and is now going on to suck and fuck and breed with men :)) and now a whole bunch of homophobes plus other lesbians will see this and their doubt about lesbianism will grow deeper :))) larping like a tra because you think lesbianism is a fucking haircut and then pulling right out of it with no apology, go fuck yourself homophobe
As I stated before in the other hate I got, the fact you sent this as an anon proves you are a pathetic coward who needs tons of therapy and help to actually be a functioning human.
Another bi women used lesbianism to shock her parents instead of actually considering what she was attracted to :)
You know when I told my mother I thought I was gay she made it about herself told me she knew i was a lesbian since I was a preteen cause of how I fangirled over Demi Lovato and Taylor Swift. Then admitted to outing me to my father, which explains why he would randomly call me a pervert and a pedophile because to him homosexuality equals pedophilia. Like actually from the time I was 20 to the time I was 23 I literally had no attraction to the male sex at all. Like it was most definitely a trauma response, but like I was a lesbian for like 3 ish years until I did that shroom trip and realized I was in love with a good friend of mine, who happens to be a male. Also fun fact my parents still think I am a lesbian because I haven't talked to them in a few years now sooo.
and is now going on to suck and fuck and breed with men :))
For how much anti-porn radfems say they are this screams like you are a regular porn watcher and adopted the extremely violent language in this media, and use it for people who you do not like. This statement also reduces me to a sex object, which again is antithetical to radical feminism.
and now a whole bunch of homophobes plus other lesbians will see this and their doubt about lesbianism will grow deeper :)))
How does me figuring out my sexuality and gender identity, harm others? You do realize I was in a high control environment until I was about 20 ish and then didn't have really any freedom until I came up to nyc earlier this year right? Like everyone is in the process of growing and finding oneself whether they want to believe it or not. The fact that hate has overcrowded your heart like this, makes me feel sorry for you. The fact you look at the world like this, screams you need some serious help and I hope to God you find it.
larping like a tra because you think lesbianism is a fucking haircut and then pulling right out of it with no apology
how am I like a TRA? Yeah I did have some sex dysphoria was a preteen, teenager and a little bit up til my early 20s, but most of it I worked through on shrooms so, I am just a gender conforming cisgendered bisexual woman. Nothing wrong with that!! Where tf did I say lesbian is a look? I said me being gnc was a cope, I didn't specify why. Which that stems from the fact my parents wanted a son, not a daughter and they bullied me and were rude and cruel to me over my sex, and I thought if I acted more masculine they would love me more. Well that backfired. Pulling out without an apology? what the fuck are you talking about bro?? how is my personal growth have anything to do with others??? Like I wanted to post a cute life update and you people just come for my throat; which proves why I am not the biggest fan of radfems anymore. Most of y'all are hateful bigots with complexes that obscure you from being kind or understanding. Which if you want women's liberation you need to be kind and understanding, which you are neither and I hope to god you find some goddamn peace cause you fucking need it.
go fuck yourself homophobe
How am I homophobic? Like anon you don't know me at all, like now to toot my own horn but there are some bloggers who orbit the same circles as us who know me irl and they will disagree with this statement a lot sooo lol

What bothers me most about religion is how some people put over everything. Like, someone is highly religious and kicks their own child out because they’re gay or transgender. Because what the Bible says is more important to them than their own child. That’s what I don’t like.
what's most annoying about that is that there is nothing in the bible that talks about being gay as a sin. the bible has been tranlated so much that the original meaning behind 'man shall not sleep with another man' (or whatever it exactly says) is that it was actually talking about pedophilia and was 'man shall not sleep with child/children'. but that only became about being gay in like the 1940s bc of a revisionist committee. you take any bible before then and they have child molesters as the sinners, not gays.
ppl love to cherry pick what they want from the bible to fit their own narrative. the bible also says don't mix fabrics and don't eat shellfish, but no one cares about those passages. just the ones where they get to be hateful. even tho that's not what god is about at all, if you actually gave a shit to read the fucking text you apparently love so dearly.
well that got a bit agressive towards the end, but you get my point lol (and obviously none of that was directed at you, anon)
also… idc what your religion says. i don't follow it and you can't force me to abide by it just to make you comfortable. if your god gives a shit about what i do, a nonbeliever, he can come down here himself and tell me so. he don't gotta use you to do it. i thought he was all mighty and powerful?? what is he, afraid of me? lmaooo

My problems with clear card
never really see anyone talk about how bad clear card actually is so here i am. everything i say about Kaito, Akiho, and syaosaku is not meant to be an attack on people who like them but instead criticism on how clamp has written all of them.
all right this is going to be long so buckle up (very big spoiler warning for all of Cardcaptor Sakura and Clear Card)
Problem 1: Clear Card's story
The story seems to be all over the place, like Clamp couldn't decide what they wanted to go with. it may seem simple at first but there's: Stuff with Nadeshiko and Lillie, Kaito and Akiho's weird magic group, Sakura getting new cards, Syaoran taking the old cards, Touya getting new powers, Yukito's magic contract, and the fact that most of it gets introduced and then dropped without getting explained.
Problem 2: The Kaito and Akiho problem
Kaito and Akiho get focused on so much that it seems like they don't even want it to be Sakura's show anymore. Everyone LOVESSSSS Akiho but, she never really does anything does she? she's only really nice and yet Clamp wants you to love her, and it works, she embodies the fakeness Clear Card has with its characters (we'll talk about that more in a bit.) and Kaito is just Yukito if he was a villain (and cishet) who Clamp wants you to like, and they try to make him baby girl so hard that they forgot that he's an asshole to Sakura the whole time.
Problem 3: The Syaosaku problem
Don't get me wrong, I love syaosaku but its gotten to the point that Sakura and Syaoran don't get to be their own characters. Sakura (despite being the main character) gets screwed over on about the same level as Cardcaptors and Syaoran doesn't even get to be mean or do anything that isn't going "i love Sakura!!!".
Problem 4: The fake niceness
outwardly mean characters like Syaoran and Nakuru are now forced to be nice to everyone, Like Nakuru for example now, can't mock Yukito or start any sort of conflict. (even though it was a main part of her character.)
Problem 5: The lack of gay rep
This is one of my biggest problems. CCS and Clamp as a whole has always been known for having great LGBTQ+ rep and yet, Clear Card has nothing. the other day i counted every gay thing in Clear Card i could find, you want to guess the number i got? 5. and two of them were pushing it. Its clear that Clamp doesn't care anymore (or they just dont care enough to show it). As a gay man, CCS's gay rep means a lot to me, so to see it so shamelessly removed like were on the same level as the pedophilia and incest hurts. This is the only time ive ever seen anyone talk about it (please read it!!!)
Problem 6: Clamp's hatred of Touya and Yukito
even thought they've been in CCS since the start they barely get to do anything anymore or even show up. yes i know that im biased but its clear that they don't want to let them do stuff, when they get something to do Clamp gets rid of it and never talks about it again. It probably doesn't help that they showed up so much in the sakura card arc.
alright that's the end of this. I'll reblog this with more stuff if i think of any other problems i had. thanks for reading my bad little rant
