Reasons Discord's New Mobile Layout Update is Bad
The reply function is redundant, as most people are used to just holding down and tapping the reply option at the top. If they're going to change it, they shouldn't have gotten rid of the member list for this functionally bad option. It also doesnt line up with any other platform in terms of swipe direction.
The member list is gone from easy viewing
It doesnt auto open your last group chat/DM making multiple simultaneous conversations far more difficult and longer
It's already broken my app once (Locked all channels including other servers' to one channel. I could not access anything except that and my DMs.)
You can not see images that have been pinned in the pins tab.
The search function was fine before. Where did your before, during and after date search go??
All of Discord's individuality is disappearing.
Getting used to a mobile format actually impedes usage of the desktop format and likely discourages people from multiplatforming discord because theyre so used to the "intuitiveness" of the new "tailored for mobile" experience
There is no way to CHANGE IT BACK. This is like Tumblr rolling out Tumblr Live without any Disable button At All.
Why are they marketing midnight mode as Something fucking ENTIRELY new??? It has always been a feature on Android as the AMOLED theme???????
DARK MODE IS NO LONGER LOW CONTRAST AND DISCORD IS DEVOLVING INTO AN ACCESSIBILITY NIGHTMARE
Disable swipe-to-reply by activating full-screen Launchpad in Advanced Settings
Discord’s new layout is apparently permanent. Keep sending feedback and rating it one star on all appstores; if you get redirected to the advice article, double tap gove feedback.
If you, too, dislike the theme, head to settings (you can double tap your account picture) and go to Appearance, scroll to New Layout and Send Feedback.
Overall, what they've done is disorientate every single current user on discord, and you cannot avoid it unless you've not updated to the latest discord because this is not an update. It is a feature that has already been on the latest update and is being slowly rolled out, like Tumblr Polls.
Good Luck, and may we send as much feedback as possible and have them make it optional or at the least, revert it. I've already sent in at least seven complaints to discord, commented on their instagram post about the layout and I'm about one star review it on google play and app store.
This isnt just the appearance and vibes being off like the new (ish) app icon, this is a matter of functionality.

🌟 New
On web, notes navigation has received a refresh, with improved spacing and color highlights that make it easier to know exactly what you’re viewing.
For the first batch of new communities, we were auto-adding new admins into the public Communities Feedback and private Admin Zone communities. Now that the volume of new communities has increased exponentially, we’ve decided to stop auto-adding people to those communities. Instead, soon we hope to make the Communities Feedback community free-to-join, and send admins an invite link to the Admin Zone so they can choose if they want to join. In the meantime, if you have any questions/problems/feedback, please reach out to Support.
🛠 Fixed
When searching within blogs, search results are now correctly ordered from newest to oldest.
When browsing communities, the “New stuff alert” notice now properly reflects the community you’re viewing.
🚧 Ongoing
In the iOS app, we’re aware that the notification bubble no longer appears at bottom of the screen for messages, and we’re working on a fix.
In the Android app, we’re receiving reports that badges purchased with in-app payments are not being received, and we’re working on a fix. Please reach out to Support if this happened to you.
🌱 Upcoming
No upcoming launches to announce today.
Experiencing an issue? Check for Known Issues and file a Support Request if you have something new. We’ll get back to you as soon as we can!
Want to share your feedback about something? Check out our Work in Progress blog and start a discussion with the community.

You can undo Discord's update if you're an Android user.
This is a search on APKMirror for versions of Discord with universal architecture and nodpi (meaning they'll work on any screen size), so they should work on any Android phone. Just download the version you want (I have 126.17 stable, a version from before they changed the font), uninstall your current Discord, and install the apk. I have been led to believe that literally every version of Discord still works, so you could supposedly even go back to before they changed their logo, and it'll work just fine, you just won't be able to use the newer features. Though if you Just want to undo the current update, you probably want 206.16 or 205.15. Since you're installing from apk, it should no longer be connected to the app store you use and shouldn't auto-update, but maybe turn off auto-updates just to be sure.
Also, this doesn't just work for Discord, you can do this with any app, though some of them will demand you update them immediately before you can use them. I couldn't get an older screen dimmer app I liked from the Play store because it was unsupported, so I got it from APKPure instead. It works perfectly.

whats the secret of good self butt photography how do i capture there glory and not throw out my back
1) Get something to hold your phone. Dollarama (if you're canadian) has these like $4 goose neck phone clip things that you can clip onto a chair or whatever and are pretty great, but if you can spare a little more money (and you expect to use it enough to justify it) then get a proper tripod (I use a couple 60 inch amazon basics tripods, but it seems like they've gotten more expensive and other brands are probably no worse) and pair it with a screw on phone tripod mount (aliexpress has them for a couple dollars and you can even get rotating ones that'll let you film in portrait mode).
2) Use a free auto clicker app (I'm on android, but I assume ios has them too) to automatically tap the button to take a photo every 4 or 5 seconds. You're gonna end up with a lot of wasted photos where you're just getting into position, but that's fine (just delete em). I wildly prefer this over using a bluetooth remote because it keeps your hands free and something about not needing to choose to snap the photo makes it easier (the time passes faster and you'll end up with more usable pics which is dope even if you just want one good one because the way to take a good pic is to take a lot of bad ones untill you get lucky).
3) Set up a way for you to see what the camera sees. You could plug your phone into a monitor or tv using an hdmi adapter or use a free screen streaming app to watch your phone's screen on a laptop.
4) Use the camera on the back. It's always higher quality. The selfie camera is only for when you don't wanna deal with those first three steps.
5) Natural light is your BFF. Take your pics while the sun is out and your curtains are open.
6) Filter your pics. I use an app called MIX (specifically an old build of it bc they changed some stuff like their payment model for the batch image filtering feature) (which is definitely on both Android and iOS), but I imagine there are a ton of others that do all the same stuff. I loath smoothing for face pics, but it can be alright for butt pics. Noise can further obscure stubble. You're probably gonna wanna raise the temperature and maybe even the tint (people look unwell when their skin is more blue or green than it should be). Lowering the contrast can be nice too. Beyond that it can be fun to just experement and see what looks nice.
That's my process anyways. You do you. I know a lot of hotties are more into the pink blue lighting thing for example (you can get colored bulbs at the dollar store and stick em on a couple cheap thrift shop lamps) and I could especially see that being appealing if you aren't getting much natural light (pls don't just be taking nudes at night under the harsh light of your apartment's one shitty ceiling lamp lol).
Bonus protip: If you are using a lamp or lamps or softboxes and you want extra brightness then you can get E27 lamp bulb splitters online for a couple dollars that'll let you plug multiple bulbs into a single lamp.
Bonus bonus protip: Keep an eye out for selfie sticks with a screw on the base. I use a gimbal extension rod with a 1/4 inch screw paired with a hinge (and had previously been using a selfie stick with a screw on the bottom which was cheaper although it eventually broke) and screw it in between my tripod and my phone clip so that I can get my phone hovering over my bed (without the instability that comes from actually putting your tripod on your bed). It's very optional, but it does rule.

Progress update: stuff
I've been pretty quiet lately because I've been slowly working on an android app of my own outside of work. Still a long way to go before it's finished, but baby steps.
It's an app where you can make custom beading patterns easily with mobile UI in mind. The only other one I've seen on the android store was this really old one with only two stars because they hide 90% of the features behind a paywall while calling it a free app.
While I like using the Beadographer website it has its limits and is designed for computers in mind rather than touch screens. Trying to use it on a phone can be a bit annoying.
Right now I have a basic grid set up for square stitch and loom stitch with the ability to select colors, color/clear beads on tap, add rows/columns, and pan/zoom in using two finger touch. I plan on adding more features including the following:
Drag your finger over several beads to color them at once rather than have to tap them individually.
Templates for several styles including peyote, brick, herringbone, right angle weave, different circular peyote stitches, and others.
Auto save patterns in progress.
Can store multiple patterns.
Create and save custom colors to use between projects.
Tools like undo/redo, rotate the canvas, select and drag, color picker, image import, and mirror.
Export patterns as png files.
Available different kinds of beads (toho, miyuki, etc)
I know this isn't most peoples' cup of tea but I'm really excited to try and complete this, and maybe even get it on the app store :D
My biggest worry is how I'm going to handle the circular peyote patterns since they don't conform to grids as easily as other styles would due to increases. The rest seems easy enough albeit long and tedious to develop and test for everything.

OCKiss 2025 Day 3: Icky
OCs: Dez Chalbis, a blue humanoid android, and Anni Chalbis, his builder
Setting: Pajiir, specifically the house where Dez, Anni, and Julian live
Words: 669
Content warnings: none
Notes: Dez's face looks like a mix between the default Mii faces, minus eyebrows and mouth when he's not talking.
As Anni patted the blanket in around Dez’s contours, she realized this was just like tucking in Bran when they were kids, except Bran would chat with her the whole time. Dez was dead straight and dead silent, his only movement the auto-blinking of the stylized round eyes on his display. She should be used to it by now—he’d been activated for two weeks and she was lucky to get two sentences out of him in one day—but she still wished he’d say something. So far the only way he’d commented on bedtime was just to tell her that she should tuck him in more, which seemed to mean there wasn’t enough oomph in her current tucking techniques. Tonight she tried to tuck him in extra tight while he laid there like a log, not suggesting anything and definitely not helping.
When the blanket was as wrangled as she could get it, she straightened up and tried to think what could be more tucked in. With Bran, she’d sometimes given him a kiss before she left the room. That seemed worth a try. She pulled her locs over to one shoulder so they’d stay out of her way, then bent down and kissed the smooth glass of Dez’s face.
Nothing about him reacted. Honestly, she wasn’t sure what she’d expected.
“Goodnight,” she said down to him.
“Goodnight,” he answered, even his voice neutral.
She sighed internally and let herself out of his room, turning off the light on the way.
***
In the dark, Dez wrestled a hand out from under the blanket. It was a shame to undo Anni’s good tucking in but he needed to know what was on his face. Though the sensors in his screen couldn’t feel it, the sensory mycelium of his fingertips could tell that Anni had left a small patch of wet saliva on his cheek. Ew. He wiped it off with his hand, then unfolded a corner of the bedsheet to scrub his face to make sure he really truly got it off. The concept of being kissed seemed nice, because that was also what people did when they did tucking-in in the movies, but there had to be a better way to do it.
***
The next night Dez kept one of his arms folded up with his hand on the pillow even as she leaned in to tuck him in.
“Do you want your hand under the blanket?” she asked.
He shook his head against the pillow. All right, then. She tucked him in with only one arm stick-straight against his side, then moved to kiss him on the cheek again.
He held up his untucked hand to stop her. Had he already decided it was embarrassing to get a good night kiss?
Before she could say anything, he tapped his fingertips against the front of his wig. “Here.”
“Here…?” she asked.
“Kiss me here.”
So he had liked it?? She didn’t quite keep the surprise off her face as she leaned down to kiss him on his synthetic hair. Probably it wasn’t any dirtier than his face, though she couldn’t remember the last time she’d washed it before she gave it to him. They might have to have a talk about that tomorrow. For now, his face was still as impassive as ever, only his big eyes and his contour nose, but she felt like there was some emotion in there now that she’d been able to do something the way he liked it.
“Goodnight,” she said down to him.
“Goodnight,” he said with zero inflection.
She went to the door.
“Anni?”
She looked back, trying not to seem too eager. “Yeah?”
“Can you tuck me in again so my arm is in there?”
Of course that was all he wanted to say. On the bright side, though, that was a lot of words he’d just said out loud to her. With half a smile, she went to make sure he was properly tucked in again.

You know, I’m not one of the people who feels like “important things have to be done on the big computer,” I’d actually be fine doing a lot of stuff on my phone if it worked better. The problem is just that a lot of mobile websites are terrible, and straight up don’t offer all the functionality that the desktop version does. Usually they try to get you use their app, which I’m not going to do for every website, but I will for some. Then the biggest problem I run into for apps of important things like banks, is that they have an annoying tendency to forget where you were when you switch to another app.
If I’m on a computer, the bank will auto log me out after 10-15 min, but at least I can switch between browser tabs or minimize my browser to check something on my excel sheet without the website deciding I must be done. I realized the stress of trying to do something important on my phone is not inherent to the small screen of the phone, it’s the way the operating system just doesn’t seem to understand that I may switch to another app to check something and don’t want to lose my progress on the first one. Is this an iOS issue, or do android banking apps also act this way? Maybe I should go back to just the terrible mobile versions of the websites, but I still get the sense they “forget” what I’m doing within a couple minutes more than the big computer websites do.
