I just can't be on this site anymore. The shameless pro-terrorism and blatant antisemitism are sickening, and no amount of tag blocking shields us from seeing it. Watching fellow left-of-center folks promoting hate and supporting regimes that literally treat women as objects has left me beyond disillusioned. This site was my solace initially and is now just exacerbating my anxiety and depression.

I never thought I'd live to see the day where Jews experience significantly more antisemitism from the left (of which I was always a part - until now) than the right. Sending love to all the other Jews out there who are being threatened and attacked by the same liberals whose other causes we always wholeheartedly supported. No matter how much twisted hatred is spewed in your direction, you're loved by the people who matter and are never truly alone.

I'm not deactivating in case anyone who shares my passion for old movies ever comes across this blog. Sending love to the handful of truly wonderful human beings I crossed paths with here!

Did you know that Israel has offered a two-state solution five times since 1948?

Did you know that several of these offers actually provided for the Trans-Jordanian refugees (they are not Palestinians) to have the majority of land in Israel?

This was done to promote peace and to quell the evil hatred osf Jews promoted by the Muslim ideology.

So that's what happened last night. (The thread continues, but this seemed like the most salient point.)

Am I surprised by this? No. There's no careful storytelling in TW. And those diverse experiences are just bad stereotypes. The fact that no one saw a possible issue with this storyline is just indicative of the lack of care put into the whole show.

Now, I will be fair and say that SPN had it's own share of problematic episodes. It's what can happen when there's not a lot of diversity in the writer's room, and for as much as TW claims to be diverse, they really aren't, especially behind the scenes.

They got lucky that hardly anyone saw the episode (including the New York market), because if they did, they'd be rightfully roasted.

It has come to my attention that some people have been accusing Sarah J. Maas of being a ‘Zionist’ without proof.

Now, from my time lurking on Jewish Tumblr, I have learned that the word ‘Zionist’, to Jewish people at least, has many definitions. Only ONE of which is the typical one used by us goyim. A.k.a. that of thinking it’s ok for Israel to bully the Palestinians.  And undoubtedly, that typical definition is what those accusing her of being a ‘Zionist’ likely mean. The thing is, there is NOTHING on her accounts that would support this idea even VAGUELY. Her Instagram is mostly promotional materials for her books with slice of life pictures tossed in. What little political stuff there is either anti-Trump/pro-Biden stuff, or sometimes a charity thing. NOT A DAMN THING RELATED TO ISRAEL.  Her Tumblr is a mix of promotional materials and shared fan content. There’s also a Facebook page with exactly ONE POST that is again more promotional stuff. And her personal website is, again, promotional stuff.  NOT A DAMN THING ON ISRAEL. So, where the flying fuck do you get off accusing someone who’s said nothing about Israel on her socials of being anti-Palestinian rights? Some more cynical people on Jewish Tumblr would probably say, ‘because she happens to be Jewish’.  And if that is indeed the case, and it’s not a VAST misunderstanding... Well then you can FUCK RIGHT OFF.  There are many things you could say about Sarah J. Maas. That she has problematic tropes in her writing, yes. That the so-called ‘feminism’ in her books is not only nonexistent, but that said books are also regressive as hell. Likely unintentionally, but still pretty regressive.  You can even call her books bad and nothing but trashy smut. But until she SAYS something about Israel, you had best steer clear of accusing her of being anti-Palestine.  Because frankly, that is just straight-up antisemitic slander. And frankly, the plight of the Palestinian people, while a dire one, is NOT an excuse for you to hide your own disgusting beliefs behind. And it is SHAMEFUL that you would use pro-Palestinian activism for such an end.  Shameful and deceitful and disgusting beyond belief.  The SJM critical/anti SJM community is NOT a place for spreading bigoted beliefs. Just a little bit deeply fucking chilling to me that Donald Trump and Ron DeSantis, the two most preeminent Republican candidates going into 2024 will be running against Jews and disabled people respectively.

I’ve been to protests and demonstrations, and never been more welcomed or felt so safe. Palestinians have hugged me, have shared food with me. Leftists have constantly held space to listen and to learn, to make room for changes and growth.

But you know what I have experienced? Jewish Zionists screaming at me, calling me shameful, Jewish Zionists on the internet debating the legitimacy of my Jewishness. I was going to get rid of this blog after getting nonstop antisemitic and hate messages due to my stance on the Israel-Hamas war. But I've rethought it, especially after seeing everything that has occurred, and I refuse to let anyone push me off of a site I enjoy. Especially people full of such hatred who are propping up terrorists, manipulating the narrative of October 7th to try to paint Hamas as heroes and freedom fighters while wishing death on Israel, America, and all Jews everywhere.

I'd love to see some of these people try to survive under Hamas' regime. You tell us then how they're "heroes".
