Hey! If your still taking requests, I was wondering if you can do Rayman/Ramon being a father to him and His S/os kids? I can see Rayman being his kids to work, like bring your kid to work day, that would be so cute
Thank you for the request !
I’ve been struggling to get back writing for quite a few days now , had a massive writer’s block phase … I’m really sorry I took so long to get this done ! Hopefully I’ll finish the next request a bit faster ;-;
Anyway , I really enjoyed writing this one : I love the idea of Rayman being a sweetheart to his kids … it brings me joy :,)
Hope it turned out okay !
And again , sorry about the inconvenience ;(
Details : use of gender neutral reader ;
established relationships ;
no warnings needed
Tumblr media
Rayman 🧡
Two words : Best Dad .
Rayman has always had a soft spot for children , so now that he has a family with you , the love of his life , he truly feels like the luckiest man alive .
He knows that he can’t be around all the time , but whenever he’s there he wants to be as present as possible and make everyone smile … that’s probably the most important thing for him .
Rayman is more than happy to bring his children along to work when he is allowed to , and the sheer enthusiasm he has when talking to them and answering their questions is surely something to behold …
< Ohh - what is that , Dad ? >
< That is the television production studio , sweetie : it’s the place from where the things I say get filmed and then put on tv .
It’s one of the most important rooms in this building , and the one where I spend more time into . >
< That’s so cool !!
Can we go in there now Dad ? Can we ? Can we ? Can we ? >
< Hehe , alright , let’s go !
Just be careful and stay close to me , okay ? >
< Okay ! >
Rayman isn’t bothered in the slightest by the fact that his coworkers and staff members could see him and his kids , and if anyone has complaints about it ?
Well , he is ready to have an hours long argument with them if necessary , so most people don’t even try to talk about it … at least not out loud .
When he comes back home , despite how tired he may be , Rayman is pretty much always down to see what his children have been up to while he was away :
they crafted something or made a drawing ? He will see it .
They want to tell him all about something cool that happened today ? He will give them his full attention .
< Dad ! Dad look , it’s you ! We made it together ! >
< Wow - that’s such a good drawing you made there ! I love it ! >
Rayman makes sure to keep every little thing they gift him , and sometimes you can find him sitting somewhere , smiling while staring at something they made …
< Aw , is that a new one Ray ? >
< Mhm …
Y’know y/n , sometimes I look at you and our family and I can’t believe how lucky I am to have all this .
I can’t thank you enough for staying with me … I love you , I love you so much ~ >
< I love you too sweetie … I’m so lucky to have you as well ~ >
Tumblr media
Ramon 🖤
Saying that Ramon will do anything to keep you and your kids safe is an understatement …
He is ready to throw his life away to ensure that , and that often brings him to make many , many dangerous decisions .
< y/n ? Is … is Dad okay … ? >
< Don’t worry hun , he just needs some rest and he’ll feel better soon …
Still Ram , that’s not an excuse for doing stuff like that .
Please , please promise me you’ll never do it again … >
< I … hnn … I’m sorry … I just - I forget myself sometimes …
I’ll try to be more careful , I promise . >
Ramon’s softer side is especially visible when he is spending time with your children , playing with them …
< Aha ! We got you ! >
< Heh , you got me … >
< And now you’re trapped , forever !! >
< Noo - how could I be so easily defeated ?? >
You can’t help but smile whenever you see your partner like that , at this point only ever smiles when you’re all together : it’s the one thing that keeps him sane .
Since he doesn’t want to make your kids worry about how bad things actually are , with Eden constantly on the hunt for him and his beloved family , Ramon most likely confides  to you at night , when his tormented thoughts prevent him from getting some much needed rest …
< y/n … ? >
< Hey love … can’t sleep … ? >
< … yeah …
This is just such a huge mess … I really have no idea how we’re gonna make it through this with those assholes constantly looking for us .
You deserve better … our children deserve better … maybe the both of you should - >
< No . I know what you’re about to say , and I’ll never leave you , no matter what happens .
I know that … things aren’t easy right now , and I honestly have no idea what’s gonna happen next … but I know we’re going to get through this , and we will be happy , all three of us … I promise . >
Your loving words always manage to give Ramon some reassurance , and with a momentary sense of peace he eventually manages to fall asleep in your arms , grateful to have you and your kids by his side .
He will do everything in his power to keep you safe , no matter what it takes .

i wanna see fifty five goldfinch pieces 💔💔
OKAY!! So I have this little series I like to call the great decompartmentalisation of Theo decker... Let me walk you through it. I promise there's art after the massive paragraph of meandering analysis alright
You know how Theo's life is segmented into these distinct episodes? And how he himself is split into multiple different identities, and how much shame and fear there is associated with the idea of those identities mixing? For example: the straight a student living a completely, delusionally idyllic life with his adoring mother and the vanilla teenage troublemaker breaking into people's summer homes with his shady homoerotic bestie. When the two identities come into contact via his suspension, it leads to the most traumatic event in Theo's life, and honestly I suspect that might be the origin of this tendency towards compartmentalisation... I could go through the whole book here but the most prominent examples are Theo panicking at the thought of Mrs Barbour or his therapist finding out about Hobie, his cutting himself off from New York when in Vegas with his other shady homoerotic bestie (the amount of times Vegas is compared to an alien planet...) and his dual post timeskip identifies of charming antiques salesman/fraudulent art stealing junkie. And this often manifests in Theo's reluctance to let people from his different periods interact - see him rushing to stop Boris from talking to Pippa, and him keeping Hobie in the dark about the blackmail, and isn't it kind of weird that the barbours - Theo's soon to be legal family - don't really interact with Hobie and Pippa? Anyway. Basically I thought it would be cool to make a series of little vignettes of theo allowing the people and places and things that represent various versions of Him to interact and thus symbolically healing the disconnected parts of himself... Or something. I have more ideas scribbled down but somehow the only ones I ended up with proper art for is the various holidays (which, holidays are also a weirdly prevalent theme in tgf? Idk whats up with that but it's a good tool for this purpose) so we have:
Christmas Eve at Boris's, featuring Pippa and Hobie - I feel kinda bad for only ever portraying Boris with polish customs but let's be real I'm just using him to show off my own heritage lol. In Poland the main Xmas celebrations happen on Xmas Eve, traditionally with the appearance of the first star in the sky. You eat the mostly inoffensive barszcz as well some truly vile shit, such as mushroom and cabbage dumplings, mushroom and cabbage salad, other items made of mushrooms and cabbage, and finally the most disgusting dish of my life: Jewish style carp. No, it's not quite the same thing as gefiltefish, although that's the Wikipedia page you might use to get to the actual dish. All washed down with compote which I hate. You also break and eat communion wafers while wishing each other stuff, which Pippa is doing with popchyk here hehe
Tumblr media
Christmas breakfast as a little bonus despite it not having much of a tradition - I associate it with lots of hams/cured meats, gherkins and maybe Tatar sauce (yum). Much superior to the Xmas dinner imho. Really I just wanted Theo and Boris to have a moment to themselves haha
Tumblr media
Christmas proper at the barbours, featuring Boris and Tom cable! I could talk about all the tension and who's diffusing it but honestly I think y'all can draw your own conclusions lol. I just think it would be really funny for the infamous dis-engaged couple to each bring their delinquent boytoys and for Boris the drug dealer to actually come out looking superior
Tumblr media
Vegetarian friendly Thanksgiving at Hobie's, as tradition requires! I think he'd love to throw one of his big Thanksgiving parties purely for all of Theo's families to get to know each other... you know, kind of an elaboration on that Thanksgiving illustration I drew a while back! This would be before all the Christmases I think. Boris is winning Mrs Barbour over with his roguish charm lol I think old ladies would like him... Theo in the corner freaking the hell out as per this project's mission statement lmao
Tumblr media
And on a slightly different note I wanted Theo Pippa and Hobie to all visit weltys grave. I'm borrowing slightly from the polish tradition of all saint's day, when you clean, decorate and light candles on the graves of loved ones.

Here I am again with a post about the Hunters of my Hogwarts AU!😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️😍❤️
Sorry I can't post very often but sadly my new job is taking up a lot of my time, I will try to post as soon as I get used to it I promise! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Anyway back to the more interesting stuff!
I thought I'd do a series of drawings on how the Six Hunters met Lady Viperia since I won't be able to do the comics because of my slowness!😩😩😩😩😩
These drawings precisely describe the meeting between Jensen and Lady Viperia.
Jensen before meeting her lived all his life in the Muggle World he never attended Hogwarts school because he didn't have the possibilities but he used his Metamorphimagus abilities to survive in the most dangerous suburbs of his city since his mother had abandoned him as a child, then even in the magical world he began to frequent Notturn Alley getting into debt so much that he even lost his wand remaining completely in misery in the middle of the street.
Viperia met him in an alley of Notturn Alley and offered him to work for her, promising that thanks to her all his wishes would be fulfilled and that she would help him repay his debts. Jensen having nothing left to lose accepted, thus becoming Lady Viperia's bodyguard and her first true devoted servant.
Let me know what you think and I hope you like it! ❤
( Mr. Jensen original character belong to Drama Total Adventura from @oddnationcartoons )

Btw even if I don't check in here as often as I used to, I really do appreciate all of you who stick with this blog anyways c': Especially since I barely post anything 'kinky' myself anymore. So this is mostly just a gaming/media rant and personal blog now oops
In some ways I'm definitely better off than I was a few years ago, but I've also been dealing with a lot of chaos in my life and household and it doesn't look like it's gonna get fixed very soon. Mix of financial, physical health of me and family I've been heavily assisting, house things in desperate need of repair...
On top of that I've been starting to realize I might actually have developed some form of Agoraphobia from all that time I was housebound before... and other stuff, but I think that was probably the main contributor. I'm still looking into it but with how a lot of the other things I've tried to cope haven't helped, meds don't seem to touch it much, and it seems to be getting worse, it's looking more and more likely than I'd like to admit. Which sucks bc it's also going to be hard af to keep up with working to treat it with Exposure or smth if I'm buried in all the above stuff/have limited transport/places to even go. It's really freaking hard when I do rarely go out and the anxiety/illness makes it so much worse. There've been times I've had to give up and go back early after like, an hour bc I was vomiting/crippled with pain/on the verge of fainting... and that's been happening more often. Like 1 in every 3 times, and I may only get out 3 times a month at the worst points.
Idk. I'm trying. I'm keeping up with the bare minimum rn and that's all I can really say lol
Also the only problem that's actually relevant to kink blog: my drive is still at 0 or even the negatives bc I can't get my medication sorted out bc my appointments got pushed back AGAIN ☠️ So yeah. That's why there has been no writing or hc posts and will not probably be for a WHILE. On God, it's about as appealing to me as eating dry cardboard 😔 Trying to write or draw anything fun is like pulling teeth and if I won't enjoy the end result then I'm not gonna bother RIP. When I get that sorted out maybe I can finally touch my poor WIP pile again 😭
Uh yeah so. That's why I've been so absent for like... forever. I do miss checking in here but I also get in my own head sometimes about posting when I'm not 'providing' anything this blog was intended for. Which I realise is dumb bc it's MY blog and if I want to rant about video games only for like a year straight then I'm allowed to. But brains are Fun like that 🥲
For what it's worth I'm not in like, a fullblown mental crisis so please don't worry about that! I'm not in any immediate danger or smth! I do have some other hobbies I've been keeping up with and socialising in other spaces. And I've been reading. So I promise I'm not in a complete isolated depression pit 💛 Life could definitely be better and I def have some rough days, but I have been trying to take some baby steps to either fix things or keep myself sane at least lol
Idk I just felt like I should explain why I've been mostly gone for ages off and on. I do lurk here sometimes to peek at things even if I don't have the energy to show myself. But I do really appreciate anyone who sends asks or comments on my ao3 or just reads my ramblings lol 💛 Even when I can't respond immediately I still treasure the gesture and it makes me happy to see some of the same names around in my notifs/dash c': So thank you~

Hello guys. It's been a while since I made a post like this, but today I wanted to talk about my art. I haven't posted something proper in forever, and to say I haven't spent this entire time at least doodling a thing or two would be a lie, but there's a reason why I haven't been posting much and just keeping my art semi private, or multiple, let me explain (I'll have a TLDR at the end if you don't wanna bother with this, but written awfully):
First, I believe you guys deserve more than some stupid sketches. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy sketching, aesthetic aside, drawing multiple sketches a day is how I pushed myself to experiment new things and just get better overall, plus I draw them fast, so I could pull a bunch of sketches in the time it takes me to color just one, so I could spill one silly idea after the other. I don't know why or exactly when I started to feel like this is just not worth it for you guys, that you deserve more from me than what I put out, that maybe I disappoint you immensely. This isn't even about reach, I don't care about that, this is about me showing something worth to see.
Second, is how I chose to spend my time. Last year was a very busy year for me overall, my job became increasingly demanding at times, lotsa personal issues that stressed me out immensely, which resulted in me using my remaining free time doing other activities, including spending time with people I shouldn't have been so permissive with (except my gang, that's why I made it a New Year's Resolution to annoy you guys more, you know who you are), it became a thing where I was even afraid to say no to them in favor of my art or other me-activities in fear of them taking it the wrong way, which, in a weird way, ended up happening anyway and resulted in long term passive aggressive conflict, and well, all of this negativity and then some, especially combined, made me reluctant to pick my pen up most of the time, which leads me to my next point.
Third, not drawing as often made me lose my momentum considerably. I could draw stuff comfortably without much artblock, if at all, or something I thought looked ugly. It just came out naturally, sometimes without even using references, it was crazy, but I feel I lost that momentum; don't get me wrong, I don't think my art looks worse than before, far from it, I did a comparison a couple of days ago and I noticed that despite all these issues, I have indeed improved a lot, thing is, I still feel it doesn't look good, I can't seem to know where I want to go with it, or what I want it to look like, I have no idea how to describe this feeling of "I hate immensely what I've been doing", maybe I'm beating myself up too hard and this is a result of not sharing anything with you guys, but I want to be comfortable with the characters I always draw before I bring them out again (although for some reason Purah's perfection always makes my doodling easier, she has become my ultimate comfort character it seems, hah).
All that said, I want to change things this time. I'm not sure if I'll post more like I did before, or if I'll post less than I used to, but I want to post things again. Maybe won't start soon, but will definitely do it. I've even been stocking up on traditional materials to pick the pen back up in other ways as well (haven't done this since my college days, so I'm a bit excited), I don't want to make promises I can't keep (you guys know I'm terrible with keeping up with stuff lol), but I will try my hardest to post more finished pictures and less sketches. It might result in me posting less art and/or jokes as before, but we'll see where that leads me. I'm still not sure if I'll continue to keep the sketches to myself or not, but one step at a time, step one is to just stop beating myself up, turns out my negativity knows how to throw hands. If you read ALL to this point, my most sincere thanks, I know it isn't easy to put up with my crap, and if you didn't it's fine, I still love you, in fact, I'll sum it up for you below.
TLDR: I'm a stupid piece of crap that didn't know how to manage my free time which resulted in me developing a very serious case of imposter syndrome and I'm throwing hands back in hopes, no, in expectancy of walking out of it a victor, for my sake, and for you guys as well.
Anyway, thanks for reading, short or long version, and remember, a Purah a day, keeps uh, the heart happy and brain mushy, or something like that.

Endangered: Clementine's ending
_____________________
I woke up to tapping on my window which was alarming since my bedroom is on the second floor immediately I turned the lights on and grabed a small hammer I kept under my bed and snuck to the window.
Peaking up I saw Clementine's smiling screen she must have climbed pipes she motioned for me to open the window I dropped the hammer and did so.
"Clem I have a door you seriously don't have to do this"
"Yeah but this is more fun anyway follow me!" With that Clementine began climbing back down with no time to change I climbed out my window and followed her down.
"Please tell me this isn't another sneaky way to get me to do another scavenge in the sewers" Clementine laughed at me after I set my feet onto the cold grass it was pretty much 2 in the morning.
"It's not I promise" Clementine grabbed my hand and started leading me through the town everyone was pretty much inside recharging or keeping inside due to possible rain there were a rare few bots wandering around but they minded their own business.
Soon we got to Clementines greenhouse Clem now going in a speedwalk I quicken my pace before she started dragging me my feet were already numb due to the cold I'll probably get sick and get a lecture from Doc and B-12.
Soon she stopped and pointed at the small garden me and her made the daisys we planted together were blooming along with some of our other flowers.
"They look so pretty" I crouched down to have a better look Clementine did the same.
"I thought so too there wasn't many flowers in the walled city but all these ones are much prettier when I saw that they bloomed I got so excited I wanted you to see too" In the small pond we made near the garden was some of the flowers that fell off the stems and floated around moving over a little I picked up a few that was in the water.
"Aww looks like those didn't make it but there are plenty" Clementine patted my back thinking I was upset but I turned to her and placed the flowers on her scarf and hat she froze for a second but let out a happy noise with a heart on her screen.
She picked up some more flowers from the pond and put them on me we laughed and continued doing so until there wasn't anymore lose flowers in the pond now we just sat next to each other admiring the garden covered in flowers.
"You look really pretty like this" Clementine said turning to me.
"Really? I- thank you I think you look pretty too" blush marks appeared on Clementine's screen so I decided I might try and tease her I don't get to do it often.
"Aww is that a blush I see do you have a crush on me?" I laughed only a little.
"Yes I do"
Huh?
I quickly turned back to face Clementine to see if she was showing any signs of playing a prank but she looked quite serious I know Clem loves pranking a few bots but she draws the line at this kind of stuff.
"You're serious?" I just had to make sure
"Yep you know I don't joke about this sort of stuff" that confirms it I saw digital sweat on Clem she must be waiting for my response fuck!
"I feel the same way" Clem wrapped a arm around me and pulled me closer.
"Thank god I thought you'd never get my hints!" She laughed.
"Hints!? What hints?" This only caused Clementine to laugh more.
"Human, sweetheart, honey, my love we planted roses and daisys you do know what flower language is right?" I shook my head.
"Both mean love I thought you'd at least get the roses!"
Oh.
OH.
"oh my god I'm an idiot" I covered my face in shame Clem only laughed trying to gently move my hands away from my face.
"It was so obvious whyy!!?"
"Human it's alright you got it now c'mon move your hand so I can see that face!" Clementine laughed as we both playfully fought to try to cover/uncover my face Clem obviously letting me have the upper hand.
"Let me see my new partners face!" Clementine playfully yelled as I let her move my hands laughing.
"There! Oh you have a few rose petals on your mouth" they must have fell off the rose that was placed on top my head deciding to catch Clementine off I ate the petals causing her to freak out pinning me to the floor trying to get me to spit it out.
"Clem Clem calm down humans can eat roses they are edible to us" Clementine stopped trying to force me to spit them out.
"Really!? First of all don't eat random stuff without letting me know it's edible for you and second that's so cool! what do they taste like?" Clementine sat up letting me sit back up.
"A little minty it doesn't have much taste though"
"Can you eat daisys?"
From then I started listing off some kinds of flowers that are safe for human consumption she was incredibly disappointed that daffodils are toxic though.
"So you can make teas out of them too?"
"Yep there is even one that makes the tea light blue but if you put some lemon juice in it will turn purple!" Clementine slightly jumped back in surprise.
"No way really!!? What flower?"
"Butterfly pea I think" Clementine quickly stood up and held her fists up in the air.
"Then I'm gonna serch for those flowers plant them and we will drink them!!! Well you'd drink them but you get the idea" I laughed at her.
She then dramatically sat and layed down dragging me with her the greenhouse was see through so we could admire the stars and moon.
"You know what a good idea for a date is?" I turned to Clementine and tilted my head telling her to continue.
"Beating up Blazer" I couldn't help but laugh and lay my head on her chest.
"I remember when I was in my cell I wanted to turn him into a toaster" Clementine started giggling.
"Really!? A toaster out of all things??!"
"Well I doubt I could have turned him into trash can he already was one" now that got Clementine to burst out laughing causing her to hug me as we both laughed.
Suddenly the greenhouse doors slammed open and there standing was Zbaltazer in a blue furry nightgown, orange cat slippers and a annoyed look me and Clem froze staring back at Zbaltazer.
"I get you love birds just got together congratulations but please keep it down! Some of us are meditating here!! And human put some shoes on your gonna get sick" with that he stepped back out and closed the doors.
After that me and Clem waited until we heard Zbaltazer go back inside his house then we started snickering trying to shush each other.
"Did you see his slippers?" Clem said quickly moving her hand over her speaker to cover any sound.
"Yes I want a pair"
"Oh he's right though you'll get sick I should have let you put something warmer on" Clementine sat back up pulling me with her she took off her scarf making the flowers fall and wrapped it around my neck then she picked me up.
"Let me take you home" I can feel my face get hot.
"Thanks if you'd like you can stay over" Clementine only pretended to think about it.
"I don't see why not!" With a smile I wrapped my arms around her neck.
"OH MY G- I CAN STILL HEAR YOU TWO!!!" Clementine jumped at Zbaltazer's voice we both let out a loud scream of surprise and out on instinct she ran with me.
With her speed we made it to my place with her still holding me I knocked on the door after a few tries B-12 opened it.
"Human but I didn't- how did you? You left through the window didn't you?" B-12 asked completely unamused letting me and Clementine in.
"Umm maybe?"
"YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE SHOES!" Clem and I run to my room to escape B-12's wrath.

"Hey amber!
Whats up? Is writing a letter to you cheesy? Well whatever you think, I think its cool so stuff it haha.
Anyway how ya doing babe? Do you feel like you would be up for some homebrewin? I have this neat idea I want to try out but I want your help with it. Sure I can ask the guys but I kinda always liked working on these sorta things with you.
Oh I also recently got a new album that I think you might like! They're a good heavy metal band that should be right up your alley.
And maybe... after you know... we could just hang out in my trailer. If you want that is. I just like having you around is all.
Get back to me soon.
Love Eddie"
Courtesy of @lovesickfox
🔫 STOP THIS IS SO CUTE AND ACCURATE AND I LOVE YOU.... also I'll give my followers the pleasure of seeing how Amber would reply to this under a read more tho >:3c
Hey Eds,
Cheesy? I think it's cute. ♡ You should write to me more often. Plus your handwriting is one of my favorite things.
Aww I'm always doing fine as long as I have yo-... Dustin in my life. Okay jokes aside I'm doing great! A homebrew? Aw Eddie you know I'm always down to see what our imagination can come up with. Just promise you'll leave all the drawing to me, okay? I cannot witness another toddler art piece from you. Okay well maybe you're not THAT bad at drawing but still. Aw are you actually admitting I'm more fun and creative than the other stink nerds in Hellfire? I appreciate the compliment.
A new album?! Why didn't you tell me sooner. Shit I'm running so fast! Actually I got some songs I wanted to show you too. Actually I just made a new mixtape of the songs I wanted to show you... well maybe a few mixtapes. You know how I get with music haha.
After what? Hmm?? Are you flirting with me Munson? You know flattery will get you everywhere. Well... only if it's you. If you were someone else I'd probably sucker punch you in the nose. Regardless of all that I'd love to hang out in that trashy room of yours. I'm teasing it's not THAT bad haha. Spending time with you is always time well spent. Well you'll be seeing me soon and not just in your dreams.
Love, Amber.

May I have one for "just wait for me here." "It's not like I can go anywhere." please.
Sesshoumaru arched a brow, staring across the sunlit glade towards a peculiar sight. His brother’s miko was acting strangely. She stood, clutching her bow tight- knuckles turning pale from the force of her grip. She tentatively used one end to feel around the grass, before prodding the ground with her shoe and inching forward.
Although they shared the same clearing, Kagome didn’t look up, nor acknowledge his presence.
Sesshoumaru gave in to curiosity, not particularly concerned about an enemy but too intrigued to ignore this display. She jerked when his boot crunched on a twig.
“Stay back!” Kagome snarled, voice shaking as she whipped her bow up defensively.
Sesshoumaru bit back a chuckle. What good would a mere bow do as a weapon without arrows? His humour soon abated however, staring into her murky blue eyes that gazed just over his shoulder.
Ah, I understand.
“W-who’s there?” she stammered, fear clouding her scent.
Inuyasha and her friends were clearly absent, always so foolish. They’d left a blinded miko vulnerable and alone?
Sesshoumaru gave the quivering woman a once over, noticing a few scrapes over her bare knees. Cut rope looped around her freed wrists. That strange white and green clothing she always wore was marred with dirt, torn in various places. She’d likely been kidnapped and escaped her captor on her own. Mildly impressive.
Still, she was nothing to do with him. Sesshoumaru turned on one heel.
“S-sesshoumaru?” Kagome called out tentatively. The words became firmer, more confident. “Sesshoumaru...wait. Please.”
The Daiyoukai paused, looking at her sightless blue eyes. “How is it that you knew who I was?”
She released a short, hard breath, clearly relieved to be speaking with someone. “I’m getting better at sensing stuff, I guess.”
“Hn,” he frowned, “and your eyes?”
Kagome touched her cheek, curling in on herself a little, “a demon blew a powder into my face and it blinded me. He kidnapped me...but I managed to get away. I just hope its temporary, ya know?” she gave a nervous giggle, despair threatening to take her under. Sesshoumaru hummed, attention drawing away to the forest surrounding them. He knew these woods well, and there was nothing around for miles. No villages nor clans. Just wild flatlands that eventually led to the mountains. She’d certainly ran a long way.
“I know we’re not friends- or even allies,” Kagome mumbled. “You’ve got no reason to help me-”
“That is correct,” he silkily agreed.
Her pretty features tightened with barely concealed frustration, amusing him. “But I’d owe you, hugely, if you just drop me off where Inuyasha can find me. I promise I’d return the favour- tenfold!”
Sesshoumaru chuckled, rather liking his position in this situation, studying his immaculate nailbeds in an unnecessary show of disinterest. “There is nothing a human could give to me that would be worth my time- nor do I need a favour.”
Blowing out a frustrated hiss of air through her teeth, Kagome stepped forward, gazing in his general direction. “So you’re going to just leave me here?”
“As previously established, miko,” he purred in a low tone. “We are not friends nor allies. Are we lovers?” he teased.
She instantly turned red, barking; “in your dreams!”
“Well then, if we are not friends, allies nor lovers, I have no need to heed your cries above those of the ants I crush beneath my feet when I walk,” Sesshoumaru turned away again, heading in the opposite direction.
“Wait!”
The desperate crunch of feet thundering through tall grass reached his ears, though the demon lord kept pace. Something knocked into his side- and Kagome stumbled, before latching tight onto mokomoko, wrapping her arms around his furs and hugging them to her chest.
Golden eyes widened at her audacity, pressing a palm against her forehead, trying to extract her from his person. “Off.”
“No way!” she twisted and tried to bite at his hand, narrowing sightless eyes. “Don’t be so heartless. At the very least, leave me at the nearest village- jerk!”
“You are doing a poor job of endearing yourself to me, wench,” Sesshoumaru lifted his hand, resting sharp claws against her damp forehead, slick with sweat. He prodded warningly. “Release this one.”
Kagome shuddered but refused to let go. “I-if I do, I’m as good as dead anyway,” she murmured, tightening her grip. “Please.”
Sesshoumaru flirted with the idea of releasing acid from his nails and reducing the nuisance into a pile of melted flesh and bone. However, even while blind- those blue eyes managed to fill him with a strange sense of intrigue. If this woman died, he ludicrously felt that the fates would turn their wrath upon him, not that he heeded the threat of any higher powers. She was so unusual in appearance, word and deed he could not help but think her a special existence, but even were she ordinary, Sesshoumaru felt his world would become less amusing without her presence in it. Encounters with Inuyasha would prove somewhat blander.
Sneering, his claws lowered. Continuing to walk with no acknowledgement of her trailing form hurrying after him, Sesshoumaru allowed her to hang onto mokomoko like it were a lifeline.
----
Kagome focused on keeping her footing, stumbling after the silent Daiyoukai. His furs pillowed her cheek, comfortable and silky. From what she could tell they’d left the wilder grass behind, her muddy loafers crunching on twigs and dry earth.
They didn’t talk often and she didn’t give voice to her exhaustion, closing her eyes after a while since it did little good to keep them open, her world endlessly black.
She tried not to fall prey to the dark feelings of dread and worry threatening to claim her, lingering on the outskirts of her tired mind. She’d come too far to give up now.
Kagome bumped into something solid and stopped. “What is it?” she mumbled.
“I am going to rest for the night.”
“Oh…”
His voice sounded a little light, which meant he found something entertaining. “I take it you are going to cling to me throughout?”
“Y-yeah, can’t have you running off on me.”
“Hn, if that is the case, measures will need to be taken.”
Kagome wasn’t sure she liked the sound of that. Nonetheless, she faithfully followed when he walked on, having little choice in the matter.
Warm, stuffy vapour began caressing her skin, rendering it slightly damp, her hair curling from the humidity. It began closing in around her like a shroud, the air thinning a little. Lapping water reached her keen hearing.
“Hot springs?”
“Indeed.”
Mild alarm raced through her bloodstream. Kagome squeaked- feeling herself being lifted up, a single hand grabbing her by the scruff and yanking so hard mokomoko was successfully pried from her grip, sending her flying through the air. Kagome cried out when water rushed up to meet her, warm and lulling, closing over her head. She quickly found her footing on the bottom of the pool and pushed up, sputtering as she broke the surface.
“You jerk! What the hell?!”
Sesshoumaru answered with a lofty chuckle. “You cannot expect to sleep near me while wearing such dirty clothes.”
“Throwing me into a hot spring isn’t the answer though!” she growled, splashing the water in his general direction, though she had no idea if it made contact or not.
“Hm? Would you have preferred being stripped bare to shudder against me all night long?” he suggested offhandedly.
“Of course not,” Kagome gritted out.
“Then I suggest you start bathing yourself, miko.”
Hesitating, Kagome wrestled with herself. The sound of his boots stepping over rocks and drawing further away loosened her tongue.
"J-just don't abandon me here, okay?"
He halted. "And what will you do if I decline to listen?"
"I'll haunt your ass once I'm dead."
"Hn."
He continued on, his answer not exactly assuaging Kagome's fears. With little else to do but tentatively trust him, she stripped out of her uniform and bathed as best she could. Without the use of soap or a sponge and being unable to see the dirt being washed away, it would likely be an unsuccessful bath. She tried her best to make herself 'clean', scrubbing at her uniform for good measure.
The silence was heavy, only broken by the sound of gently lapping water. She had no idea what time it was. How far away Inuyasha and her friends were. Kagome shivered, hugging her arms to her chest. She began to feel paranoid, suspecting the slightest sound. Dark youkai reached out, brushing her senses.
Kagome exhaled in relief, hanging onto Sesshoumaru’s aura.
“Step out of the water.”
She stiffened at the abrupt sound of his commanding voice. “And let you see me naked? No thank you.”
“There is no point in assuring you that I will not- since you cannot see if I am being truthful. I can merely promise that my curiosity about the human form will never be acted upon.”
Kagome flushed red. So he could look He just disliked humans too much to ever be ‘interested.’
She reluctantly supposed she had little choice in the matter. Standing, Kagome waded through the hot waters towards his voice, reaching out to feel for the side in order to climb out- only for her hand to be ensnared, captured by lithe fingers.
Kagome’s hazy eyes widened, climbing out with the aid of his grip, quickly covering herself with both arms as soon as she were able. “M-my clothes are wet…”
Something wrapped around her body, and she recognised the material to be a short towel. Quickly drying herself, Kagome paused when new, silky material nudged against her cheek. “Dress in this once you are done,” Sesshoumaru’s low voice rumbled.
Since she could sense his strong, dark presence linger close, she wondered if he were watching out for enemies or just plain watching her. Kagome fumbled with the silks, feeling around for the collar. Sesshoumaru’s rumbling chuckle made goosebumps race over her bare skin. She nearly bit out a comment- feeling hot breath fan over her forehead. His single arm nudged at hers, guiding her hand through a sleeve, before holding the parting open, allowing her to slip it on. Kagome blushed wildly, groping for the obi and hurriedly tying it at her waist.
A cool hand stilled hers once she was done, cutting into the rough rope still bound around her freed wrists. Kagome murmured her thanks.
“Where did you get the yukata?” she mumbled.
Mokomoko bumped her chest and Kagome held onto it reflexively as Sesshoumaru strolled away, the furs guiding her forwards. “I have many bases littered around the countryside, should I need to make use of them for trysts or shelter.”
“T-trysts?” she squeaked. “Is this clothing from...?”
“Do not worry, foolish one. That is an unused article of clothing. I keep them in case my lovers are in need of a spare change of clothes. I have been known to be...impatient.”
She arched a brow and used her free hand to measure the length of her sleeves, touching the seams. “This is a man’s yukata.”
“What of it?”
Kagome clicked. “Oh, nothing. I just didn’t know you were interested in guys.”
Sesshoumaru gave a tired, long-suffering sigh while wafting steam pulled away from their bodies, leaving them exposed to the cool air while they walked through what Kagome assumed to be a sparse forest. “Provided an individual captures my interest, gender has no bearing on who I share a bed with. It is inconsequential to me, unlike humans with your...limited choices.”
“Hey! Humans can swing both ways too. A-and look who’s talking! You’re getting all high and mighty about gender but species and blood purity matter a great deal to you. Sounds limiting to me.”
He became silent for a moment, which made Kagome feel slightly victorious. “Admittedly I have never lain with a human before,” he pretended to sound considering. “Are you volunteering yourself, miko?”
“As if,” she snorted, cheeks burning red. “You’ve tried to kill Inuyasha,” she quickly supplied as a valid excuse.
“Hn,” he gave an entertained noise, “so if we were not enemies, you would accept?”
Her mouth grew dry, feeling like she’d held her face over a flickering fire. “You’re way too arrogant to be my type.”
The sound of his quiet chuckle changed as they seemed to step into an enclosed space. Kagome reached out and touched a rocky surface, dragging her palm over it. The remnants of a demonic barrier littered the area. She suddenly stopped, yanking mokomoko and forcing Sesshoumaru to stop with her. “Have you just taken me into one of your trysting spots?"
“Where else are we to rest?”
“Not here!” she burst.
“You complain often, miko. I will leave you to the hungry animals outside if need be," he sneered. "Do not worry. This place has not seen use in a long time and is clean, I assure you,” his tone lulled into a patronising one.
Kagome held her tongue, uncomfortably settling down onto a silky bed of furs when he guided her over to it. She felt extremely weird. Staying in a place where Sesshoumaru had once had sex wasn’t exactly how she’d envisioned her Thursday going.
Something smooth and pronged was placed into her hand- and she gentled a little, quietly thanking him. Beginning to brush her wet hair, Kagome carded her fingers through the strands, making a soft noise of enjoyment.
All the while, she felt the keen sensation of being watched. Arranging herself into a more comfortable position on the bed, she sighed, gazing in his general direction. “I might be blind right now but I can feel your eyes on me. What’s up?”
“Up?”
“I mean- is something bothering you?”
“No,” he sounded briefly considering. “Rather...this one noticed your ears.”
“Hm? The fact that they’re round compared to yours?”
His thumb and forefinger closed around the sterling silver stud pierced through her earlobe. Kagome stiffened, soon relaxing. “Oh, my earrings? They’re not a big deal.”
“They are different from what I have seen before,” he stroked the shell of her ear consideringly, making her shiver. "I wish to test something.”
Since the demon lord had been magnanimous enough to offer shelter, provide new clothing and allow her to tag along with him, Kagome decided to indulge his curiosity. She sensed him move and root through something nearby, a box, she assumed.
I wish I could look around, her lips pursed, exceptionally interested in what one of his hideaways looked like.
“Remove the earrings.”
Nodding, Kagome fiddled with them, taking them out and rubbing her ears slightly. Removing them always felt weird. An inquisitive claw brushed her ear, and Kagome swallowed, holding still with mild confusion as Sesshoumaru donned her with new earrings. When he pulled away, Kagome brushed her fingers over them, finding some sort of stone dangling from her ears. They were cool to the touch and weren’t too heavy, a nice weight.
“What kind of stone are they?”
“Never you mind,” he rumbled, something tickling her brow. She wondered if it were his bangs sliding forward. Soft breath fanned over her nose before it pulled away. “Merely wear those for the duration of your stay. They suit you.”
Kagome tilted her head slightly, “well...okay? They’re not a keepsake from an old flame, are they?”
“No. Those are mine.”
She hummed, touching them again. “You can keep my earrings if you like. They can be my way of saying thanks. They kinda look like diamonds so maybe they’re to your expensive tastes.”
Even though they’re fakes.
Sesshoumaru made a rumbling noise that she assumed was positive, and wondered if they had been his true aim all along. She figured that would be all for the night- before feeling a touch against her hair. Kagome paused, fighting an exasperated smile. Who knew Sesshoumaru could be kind of… cute?
"Anything else?"
"Hn, your hair would suit this kanzashi. Hold still."
Kagome got the feeling their dress-up session was going to take a while.
---
When she awoke, the permanent darkness made it difficult to know exactly what time it was. Only the birds chirping in the trees outside let her know dawn had broken. The heat at her back that had warmed her throughout the night was gone. Kagome sat up, touching her bed hair and refusing to examine what the warmth had belonged to.
"Sesshoumaru?" she rasped.
She heard him shift and stand within the cave, "I sense something nearby. Wait for me here."
"It's not like I can go anywhere," she quipped, smiling slightly.
He made a noise of acknowledgement, walking away. His footsteps became softer until they disappeared completely. Kagome felt unnerved by it.
She reached out with her aura, but this time there was no assurance from his dark youki. Kagome steadied her breathing, trying not to freak out.
Strangely, the darkness was giving way to something. Murky shapes. Browns, whites and buttery yellows. Kagome’s heart burst with gladness.
“Holy shit,” she breathed. “It wasn’t permanent...thank God.”
She could see! Well, kind of. Colours were back though, and shapes were sure to follow.
A commotion was happening outside though. Distant cries could be heard, along with familiar shouting. Kagome stumbled to her feet, following the light source out into the open despite the lack of solid objects yet.
Inuyasha’s loud voice broadcasted his location, making him easy to find- a bold red blur to Kagome’s eyes. Other colours were nearby, purples, blacks, pinks, yellows, oranges and greens.
“Guys!” she breathed.
The murky shapes turned, sharpening slightly into hazy focus. She registered Inuyasha’s horrified features. “K-Kagome...what the hell?”
She blinked and frowned, wondering what his problem was. The Hanyou rounded on a white shape that had sprinkles of red mixed in. “Hey, bastard! Why the fuck is Kagome dressed up like that? W-why does she reek of you!”
Looking down towards a nearby puddle, Kagome crouched and squinted, curious about what Inuyasha was babbling about. Her face came into focus, and her lips parted in surprise.
It wasn’t just one kanzashi, a few were nestled into her fall of curling wild hair. They glittered in the morning light. Some made of ivory, the others were black and adorned with gems. The blue of her eyes linked beautifully with the sapphires hanging from her ears. Everything paired well with the yukata he’d given her, which was white with illustrated ocean waves and smoky clouds patterning its hem and sleeves.
After enduring kidnapping- stumbling about blind for many hours, falling into ditches and streams and not knowing if she would live or die- Kagome couldn’t help but appreciate being swathed in finery. It made it feel a bit...pampered. Happy.
“Kagome, are you alright?”
She raised her head to find Sango and the others drawing closer, Inuyasha was still engaged with a verbal sparring match with Sesshoumaru that would likely head south soon.
“I’m fine,” she murmured, Shippo’s cute face appeared near hers, clear as day.
“We were worried!” he exclaimed. “We couldn’t find you anywhere after Inuyasha caught up with that demon goat and killed him.”
Nice to know my kidnapper is dead, she thought dryly, murmuring an assurance to Shippo but soon standing. She hurried closer to Inuyasha just as he took out Tetsusaiga.
“Hey- stop,” she called firmly, grasping his trailing sleeve. “That’s enough. Sesshoumaru took care of me last night, that’s all.”
“Took care of you?” Inuyasha paled, ears pinning back.
Kagome turned red. “W-what? What’s weird about that? Nothing happened!”
“Then why are you dressed like- like...that!”
Sesshoumaru gave a velvety chuckle from where he stood further away, tilting his chin up and curling his lips with an air of disdain. “I amused myself with your miko, Inuyasha, that is all,” he sneered. “She struggled so sweetly beneath me when I forced the clothes on her.”
“Bastard!” Inuyasha snarled, confused when Kagome stepped in between them. She glared first at the Hanyou, “Quit it- both of you! You’re acting like children!”
Turning her dimmed sights on Sesshoumaru, she struggled to see him clearly since he stood further away. “I don’t know what you seek to gain from lying but...thank you for all that you’ve done up till now,” she murmured. “My offer still stands if you need a favour.”
Inuyasha blustered behind her, shouting up a storm. Kagome muttered a ‘Sit’ to get him to quiet, straining to hear Sesshoumaru’s reply.
To her surprise, with Inuyasha briefly incapacitated, Sesshoumaru drew closer. The sweep of his brows, regal nose and cupid’s bow of his lips caught her dazed attention- her breath halting. Familiar diamond style studded earrings adorned his ears.
“These will do nicely as payment, miko,” he rumbled.
Kagome blinked and slowly smiled, sharing a quiet moment with him. “I-I suppose you’ll want these back,” she murmured, closing her hands around the sapphires on her ears.
“I have plenty more.”
“Right, of course you do,” she giggled, hearing Inuyasha squeak out a ‘did you just giggle at Sesshoumaru?!’ from his crater.
“Hn, as I said, they suit you,” Sesshoumaru turned. “And miko?”
“Yes?”
He began walking away, but she could hear the smile in his voice without seeing his expression. “You have captured my interest.”
Kagome’s eyes widened, heart bursting into overdrive. Her stomach fluttered with butterflies, and she felt a mix of confusion and anticipation.
Ditto, she thought with a faint smile.

Move-In Day
Cove Holden x Reader
In which Cove Holden helps you move into your brand new dorm, and wishes you farewell before your freshman year.
Takes place after Step 3.
*
Like it or not, your life has always revolved around one Cove Holden. One bright-eyed, silky-haired, infuriatingly endearing Cove Holden. It’s always been him, in everything you’ve done, forever a spectator and participant in one. You have never known a time without him: your classmate, neighbor, best friend and boyfriend-extraordinaire.
Even now, as you edge into adulthood, Cove Holden is all you know: seated beside you with one hand on the wheel, wavy hair tucked behind his ears, his eyes longingly on yours. He catches your gaze, and offers you a smile, full of sincerity as always.
The journey upstate had been a long time coming; a goal, ever-present, but inching along so slowly that you’d opted merely to brush it off. But as the summer of your senior year came to a close, your move-in day had sprung up on you like an unpleasant (albeit somewhat enthralling) surprise.
Cove, forever a gentleman, had insisted on driving you all the way. You’d argued against him, only to be shut down–and quite firmly at that. “If you’re going to be moving so far away,” he’d told you one night, “then the least I can do is go and see you off.” He was a much better driver than you anyway, you’d reasoned with yourself, and it’d be nice to have another pair of hands to unpack. The idea of flying alone didn’t quite appeal to you either, so, after hardly a moment’s hesitation, you’d agreed to let him tag along.
College, all the way up north–you can hardly believe you’d come so far. You’d dreamt of this for years, spent months drafting application essays and crafting resumes. Years of preparation and research, though, hadn't seemed to brace you for the anxiety to come.
Even now, sitting in the car with Cove, hands intertwined, the idea feels more like a dream than your living, breathing reality. But the car trudges along, movements never once faltering for your thoughts.
You’d be on your own soon–a stray left for dead. You’d be nowhere near Sunset Bird anymore.
Lost in thought, it takes you more than a moment to grow cognizant of your surroundings. The scenery has shifted, the sky around you having faded to a pale purple hue. The change in atmosphere is instant. High-rise buildings litter the skyline; the shopping districts, no longer limited to a single street, bustle with activity.
It feels, beyond anything else, unfamiliar.
Isolating.
Realistically, you are far from alone. Derek, having gotten his scholarship, lives right down the hall. Your parents and sister are always a call away, and your friends have never failed to remind you of their presence. And Cove, despite being far from technologically adept, is still a better texter than most–and a relatively consistent one at that.
These thoughts, at least, are reassuring.
But the fear remains–and all you can do is try and work alongside it.
You turn to Cove. The window has been rolled down; you feel the cool evening breeze against your skin, fresh and foreign all at once. His hands are running mindlessly through his hair, detangling the inevitable wind-induced knots. Your eyes flit down to his fingers drumming against the steering wheel, then lower down to his scar, the pale white mark running gently down his forearm.
Sitting there, so unaware of himself, sunset illuminating soft features–Cove is beautiful, in every possible way.
You smile, content.
*
The hours pass, and before you know it, you find yourself on campus for the first time.
You tap the keycard to your door, and it opens with a soft click. The two of you are met with the sight of the dorm, the yellow-tinted wood somehow even less impressive than the photos you’d seen online. Barren walls, popcorn ceilings, worn-down linoleum from decades past. Sparsely decorated as it may be, the room puts you at ease.
You let Cove move past you to enter. “What a joy.” You scoff at the drawl in his voice. “Where’d you say your roommate’s from?” he asks, his shoulders nudging the door wider. His set of boxes is significantly larger than yours, and he looks smaller than ever with the stack cradled against his chest.
“Florida,” you answer, following his footsteps.
“Oh.” He sets the cardboard down on the ground, the impact resounding with a solid thump. “I hope they won’t mind the mess we’re about to make.”
That draws a laugh out of you; you think back to all the times you’ve stepped into his room, only to find it a complete bird’s nest. “They’re not moving in until tomorrow.” Another thump resounds as you drop your own load. “We have time to clean. But don’t mess things up too bad, please. I’d like a good first impression.”
“No promises.”
You roll your eyes, and, cracking open the first box, begin the arduous process of unpacking.
*
“Well,” Cove says finally, brushing dust away from his hands. “I think that was the last of your stuff.”
Setting the last of your books in place, you take a moment to revel in your surroundings. Despite his messy tendencies, Cove had done a pretty good job–with your assistance, of course. All your clothes had been folded neatly up in the closet, and your posters were hung all over the walls, like a delicate reminder of home. On the desk sat two small photo frames; one with you and your family, and one with you and Cove.
“I guess so, huh,” you mutter.
There’s a weight in the air around you, and you bow your head.
There’d been too much to discuss. Hell, even now the topic was one you wanted nothing more than to avoid. The ‘what-ifs’ had littered your mind for months now, hanging over you like a constant reminder. And though Cove had tried his best to dispel them, they’d inevitably come back–and with a vengeance. You didn’t know what the future held, nor did you know whether the two of you would last. Uncertainty riddled your mind: what if he grew bored? What if the two of you lost interest? What if, after all your time together, the physical distance became too much?
His hand comes to rest on your shoulder. The gesture is light, gentle–a welcome pressure.
The tension dissipates.
You sigh, lifting your chin up to meet his gaze. There’s a softness in his eyes you’ve come to recognize as sadness. And there’s a warmth behind your own that threatens to grow hot, to liquify and pool before you. You choke back the urge to cry, stifling yourself by clearing your throat. “You’ll text me, won’t you?”
He chuckles softly at that, thumb stroking circles into your skin. “Of course. I’ll call you so often you’ll grow sick of me.”
“I’m counting on it, Cove.”
You give him one last hug, inhaling his scent and pressing your cheek to his chest. He smells like Sunset Bird, a mixture of the ocean and the beach and all the pleasantries that come along with it. His pulse, slow and steady, beats in your ear.
Devoting the moment to memory, you angle your head to plant a peck on his cheek. “Thanks for helping me move in.”
He grins at you. “Of course.” The expression sparks something strange in you, something equal parts melancholy and equal parts pride. You so badly want him to stay–you want to reach out, pull him down into the bed and sit right atop him so he might never escape your grasp.
“I love you,” you whisper, part-plea and part-farewell; you see the pain in Cove’s eyes. “Don’t get into too much trouble while I’m gone, alright?”
He lets out a breathy laugh and, shaking his head, shoots you a smile. "I love you too."
You smile, and breathe him in just once more. Then, with one last teary kiss, you let go, and wish him a safe journey home.
You’re on your own now–
But you know he’s with you, always.
*
A/N: Another self-indulgent piece as always, because I've fallen in love with one Cove Holden. My freshman year of college starts soon, and I guess my worries culminated in this piece. Thanks for reading, though–I hope this was alright! Any reblogs or likes are appreciated!!

You carried the large box to the lunch table and set it there, in the middle of your friend group. Jean eyed it curiously.
“What’s that?”
“Care package from my mom.” You replied, using the pair of scissors you kept in your school bag to cut open the packing tape. “She said there’s stuff for the rest of you in here too. Probably candy or something.”
“That’s nice of her.” Scott smiled, watching as you opened the cardboard box.
“Ah, yep.” You reached into the bag and pulled out several packages of Genovian chocolates. “Here you go, guys.” You told them.
Kurt’s eyes narrowed at the bags, his tail hovering behind him curiously. He recognized that packaging. “These…I know these chocolates. Does your mother live in Genovia?”
“Oh, uh, yeah. I’m from there, actually.”
Peter thought for a second, already munching on chocolate. “Wait, I thought you were American.”
“Nope.” You laughed, reaching further into the box and pulling out a handful of little Genovian flags she’d sent. “Ah, right. Independence day is coming up.”
“Where even is Genovia anyway?” Warren asked, admiring the little flag once you handed it to him.
“It’s a tiny little country between France and Italy.” You explained. “It’s really beautiful there, though.”
“It’s the most beautiful place I’ve ever been.” Kurt reminisced, sighing fondly.
“When did you visit?” You asked him.
“Several years ago.” He said. “The circus had a few shows there when I was young. The people were so kind, and the coast sparkled like diamonds.”
“You were with the Munich circus, right?” You asked him, trying to remember. He nodded proudly, a smile settling onto his face. “I was at one of your shows! I knew you looked familiar! Oh my god…” You laughed and shook your head. “I should have put those pieces together sooner.”
“You were there?”
“Yeah! My mom took me for my birthday.” You smiled, remembering the show fondly.
And Kurt knew then the information that you were withholding from the rest of the group. His eyes widened slightly and he studied your features. He remembered you. He remembered that day and he remembered the feeling of his heart hammering when after the show, the Queen of Genovia herself introduced him to her daughter, who was about his age. She’d taken her there because it was the princess’ birthday. Though your meeting was brief, he’d remembered it all this time, thinking of it every once in a while…the time he’d met a princess.
You didn’t look all that different now than you had then. Why you hadn’t told the rest of your friend group, he wasn’t sure, but he would keep the secret for you. Of course he would. He smiled softly, admiring you with his new revelation in mind. Even before he’d figured it out, you’d already been a princess to him anyway.
Peter studied the look on Kurt’s face and squinted. Something was going on. Something was going on and he would get to the bottom of it…
***
Over the weekend, your friend group had decided to go to the mall, but before you left, Kurt knocked on the door to your room.
“It’s open, come on in.” You told him.
He pushed open the door and stepped into the room timidly. You were at your desk, reading what appeared to be a letter written on a piece of paper.
“What’s up?” You asked, not looking up from the letter when you asked it.
“You’re coming to the mall, right?”
“Yeah, what time is it?” You glanced down at your watch. “Oh shit. Sorry I’m late.” You chuckled, folding the note and tucking it into your dress drawer. “My mom wrote me a letter with her package.” You explained.
“How nice!” Kurt smiled and you couldn’t stop your heart from fluttering at the way it lit up his face. “Do you write each other letters back and forth?”
“When I have time to, yeah.” You nodded, shoving your hands into your pockets. “Well, shall we?”
Kurt nodded and offered you his arm. You took it and in a poof of smoke, suddenly, you were standing in the living room, where the others were all standing.
Peter had a weird look on his face and you weren’t sure why, but you knew he was up to no good. He always seemed to be…
The squad piled into the car, as usual, and arrived at the mall in under thirty minutes. Jubilee picked the tunes, which was always a good choice, so the ride there was pleasant and relatively uneventful.
You all walked inside and started the routine of shopping around in all of your usual stores. The prom was coming up, so you all spent some time in the dress place on the upper level of the store.
“What color dress do you think you’re going to get, (Y/N)?”
“Mmm, I’m not sure.” You thought for a moment. “Maybe something pink. Or…blue?”
“I think blue would look great on you.” Jubilee grinned, flipping through the rack of blue dresses.
“I agree.” Jean smiled, her eyes flicking over towards Kurt, who was on the other side of the store with the boys.
“Hey now.” You warned, your cheeks warming at the thought. “What did I say about reading my mind?”
“I didn’t need to read your mind. You’re more obvious than you think you are.” She chuckled.
“What she said,” Ororo agreed, causing your cheeks to flush even hotter. “Why don’t we ask the boys which one you should wear?”
“That’s a great idea.” Jubilee agreed, despite your shaking head. “Hey boys!”
“Yes? What’s going on?” Kurt bamfed over beside you, looking at Jubilee curiously.
“Which dress should (Y/N) wear to prom?” Ororo held up one pink dress and one blue dress.
“The blue one.” Scott said knowingly, crossing his arms and smirking. Okay. So he and Jean had talked, then. “Definitely the blue one.”
“I agree.” Warren nodded.
“What do you think, Kurt?” Scott nudged the teleporter.
“I think you’d look beautiful in anything. But I do like the blue one. It brings out your eyes.”
“T-thanks.” You blushed, giggling. None of you committed to dresses, so after looking around for a while the squad decided to hit the food court while looking over movie times.
“So…” Peter looked up at you and cleared his throat, drawing the attention of the rest of the group. “When were you planning to spill the beans…your highness?”
You swore your blood ran cold. You looked up at him, your heart racing in your chest and the color drained from your face. “Excuse you?”
“You heard me.” Peter raised an eyebrow, leaning back in his chair confidently. “When were you going to tell the rest of us your little royal secret?”
You froze, staring at him for a long time. “Maximoff,” you said through gritted teeth, your eyes glowing faintly. “Choose your next few words very carefully.”
“Oh I have. (Y/N)’s the princess of Genovia.”
“Pfft. As if.” Scott scoffed, chuckling, but he stopped when he looked at the look on your face. “Oh shit, is he serious?”
“Who the fuck told you?!” You asked him, your voice raising the teeniest bit. “The only people who know are Professor Xavier and Dr. McCoy, so which one do I have to kill when we get home?”
“Neither. I snooped in Xavier’s office. Found your file.” Peter shrugged. “And of course, that begs the question: Why didn’t you tell us?”
“Listen…” You exhaled a long breath, looking to each of your friends faces for a moment before fixing your eyes on the table. “When people know, they treat me differently. I don’t think they mean to, but they do and it sucks. I like having friends and I love hanging out with you guys and I didn’t want to ruin that because of something as stupid as status.”
“You’ve got us.” Jean promised. “We’re not going anywhere. This doesn’t change anything. And…I already kind of knew. Not that you think about it often, but every once in a while…”
“I figured that might happen, yeah.” You chuckled. “Thanks for keeping it on the DL.”
“Of course.” She nodded.
“I knew too…” Kurt confessed, looking you in the eye.
You crinkled your eyebrows and then nodded, understanding. Of course he knew. You two had met before, after the show. You’d asked your mother if you could meet some of the performers, and she’d pulled some strings to make it happen. You distinctly remembered meeting Kurt. You remembered his smile and his adorable pointy ears.
“That’s right.” You smiled. “We met.”
“We did.” He agreed, nodding, a smile tugging at his lips and a faintly purple color creeping across his cheeks. “Although, I’ll admit, I didn’t realize it was you until…very recently. We aren’t kids anymore.”
“We sure aren’t.” You agreed, a chuckle escaping your lips.
And it was fine after that. It was normal. Much more normal than you’d expected it to be. Another week came and went. You finished your letter to your mom, Queen Clarisse, and when its response came back in the mail, you found it accompanied by a small picture she had saved all these years. As soon as you looked at it, a smile on your face, you knew you had to show Kurt.
So, you ran out to the courtyard, where you knew he was, and found him reading under the shade of a large tree in the front yard.
“Kurt!”
“What’s up?”
“My mom sent a few copies of this photo. Do you want one?” You asked, sitting next to him in the grass and handing him the photo. He looked it over, holding it very carefully in a large, three-fingered hand.
“This is us, ja?”
“Mmhmm.” You hummed, nodding. “A very long time ago.”
“We were so young…” He murmured, admiring the smile on his face as well as yours. He remembered you’d been nervous to meet him and at first, he thought it was because of the way he looked, but quickly learned it was because you’d been enamored by his performance. Absolutely blown away. You’d been so kind to him then, just as you were so kind to him now.
“We really were.”
“Do you mind if I keep this?”
“It’s all yours.” You told him. “So, what’cha reading?”
“Beauty and the Beast.” He told you. Ever since remembering that one of his best friends was a princess, he’d been on a bit of a fairytale kick.
“Mmm, that’s a good one.” You smiled and tilted your head, your eyes sparkling. “Read to me?”
“Of course.” He laid back against the tree again, holding the book open with his tail.
You got closer to him, wrapping an arm around his waist and resting your head against his lean chest. His arm wrapped around you and tugged you closer, and without even thinking about it twice, he pressed a soft kiss to your hairline before starting to read again.
Kurt decided then that there was no place in the world he’d rather be than under his favorite tree, a princess resting contently against his chest.

Chaotic Neutral GF X Over Boss Colter (PART 2)
(As requested! Sorry I took so long on this I have two jobs atm and I’m working on moving out rn! :D)
Mirelurk hunting + deathclaw taming, that was a normal ‘Friday’ night for the two of you…it’s been many fridays and still no deathclaw pup named fartsalot though, but Colter knows it will happen at some point!
You two made a hobby out of counting caps and going out and finding caps around town, it’s often a game of who will bring home the most, you were almost certain gage was putting more caps further off the centre of town to get you both out of his hair but hey it was his loss and your gain and you did infact always win
You would draw pictures of him while he sat around and smoked or injected some jet and he hung them proudly up in your place no matter how deranged they looked
You made him a necklace with an old piece of thin rope and a Nuka bottle cap, you engraved “give ‘em hell” onto the back, it was one of your first questionable qifts among many that you ended up giving him, he never takes it off and wears it as a badge of honour
He promises one day you guys will tie the knot but…you weren’t really one for such things, you two are basically together for life anyway so what was the point of doing something when it would stay the way it was anyway, and you liked the current arrangment
Colter was a doer, you were an observer so if things needed to be doing, you knew about em…but it wasn’t often you’d say anything about it, if it wasn’t bothering you, you couldn’t care less
One time for a few weeks you started going around pantsing the other raiders around Nuka World, this of course got back to Colter “hey control them please?” …”nahhh” was always the answer
You got bored of it eventually though so…
You guys tend to bicker a lot but never actually fully fledged argue …Often… but when you do the entire encampment hears and you’re put on patrol instead of your usual “do whatever you want lil mole rat”
Yeah the other raiders point out his favouritism and it sucks but you really couldn’t give a damn
You often ran away…like ALOT most times though Colter wasn’t TOO concerned because he knew you could handle yourself, you just like blowing off steam, you always come back up to your room with a big smile and usually a giant mirelurk claw or robot scrap or…one that time assless chaps
He also hangs your drawings of other raiders outside their group place or around Nuka World somewhere where he knows they’d see it
If a Raider goes rogue he uses your drawing of them (from memory btw) as their wanted poster and usually he allows you to take them to their group leader once they’re found which is always fun for you
You know Nuka world inside and out, all the secrets and such, Colter however rarely even left the gates so he has no idea what you’re talking about half the time and just assumes you’d taken a hit of jet or some psycho or what not, and you like to keep him guessing so you just chose not to confirm or deny
You like hanging around with the pack the most, Colter isn’t the jealous type…(a lie he tells himself and you) but he isn’t too keen on Mason at all, especially considering the Packs animalistic natures and beliefs but you loved the chaos and the fact they made it seem…normal
You two one time thought(well you thought and convinced Colter it would bring in more caps) to offer a entertainment venue, singing, dancing…That kind of stuff, but it kind of ended as soon as a group of raiders preformed “pistol packing mama” and a gun fired and shot straight through one of Nishas men…It was pure havoc after that so safe to say it was a one night show
Colter likes to get drunk and sing all those cheesy love songs to you, you hate it, so badly infact that sometimes you take the lift down and pray he falls down and damages his vocal cords
Lazy nights in consisted of Nuka cola and whiskey, using the intercom to make fun of Nisha, Mags and others…mostly gage, and keeping the rest of Nuka town awake while you two play loud music and dance
You knew people were talking shit about Colter, though you had no idea about the entire plan or what was going on there but gage had been acting shady, you assumed it was because the past few weeks colter refused to talk to ANYONE outside of you or Gage so you mostly let it go
You kissed Colter, a gross sloppy kiss a purposeful grace before he got suited up for the fight on a newcomer, while you watched you never thought they’d make it this far so you were excited to see colter take them down “give ‘em hell!” He smiles widely at you and nods “Ha! Of course” he exits the backstage area and into the arena, you take a seat front row, already hollering for him, you see his opponent emerge from the other side, a strange gun in their hand…it looked familiar it looked like…hm you turn your head to gage, sweat pooled on his forehead, his eyes set dead on the rink you watch the battle, this was bad…
You jump up steadily, banging on the glass, something was wrong
You bang as hard as possible, the other raiders just watching you pathetically try to get Colters attention he was being hit harder and harder everytime, getting electrocuted by his own suit
You bang and scream, for once you felt completely…weak, helpless and that pissed you off more than anything
You just watch, sliding down the blockage slowly, you were angry at first yes you stomp over to gage “let me fight them!” He shakes his head “you know the rules, Colter made them, so you should respect them” you scoff loudly, grabbing Gage by the collar shaking him slightly “you fucked faced mother fucker-“ before you could start laying into him you hear a whimpering you snap your head towards Colter and slam open the doors, running towards him, you place yourself onto your knees and rest your hands on his chest he places a weak hand onto you “so much for going out in style” he coughs out, blood piling from the sides of his mouth “you’re gonna keep living anyway but, do it in style, no regrets my little mole rat” he gasps between his words, life slipping from him you nod slowly, he was right. He knew you better than you knew yourself you would keep living, so you may as well do it the way you always wanted, without him or not
you loved colter but gage was right being a raider, death was always at the door and here at Nuka Town as the overboss he played with fire Everyday by your side and you loved every second, and you will continue to do so everyday until you’re eaten by a death law or blown up by a Fatman that was being used by a behemoth, and you would accept this new over boss, hell…maybe there was more out there than just Nuka Town
You yanked off Colters Nuka cap necklace and retie it around your own neck, standing up from his now lifeless frame your eyes narrow you will always keep him close, you will avenge him the only way you know how…by givin em hell wherever you went, maybe you will start with some deathclaw taming for now and see where it takes you
(YIKES sorry it was short and sorry for the angst…Probably NOT what you exactly where hoping for but 😭 I was planning on releasing that last part as a draft sequel to the first one anyway so I figured why not!)

Were We Ever Happy?
Part 11 : Little Ears
Tumblr media
Yuna went to her Auntie Miki’s room as her mommy told her. She went in and saw her Auntie in front of her computer.
“Auntie Miki is doing school,” she thought and plopped herself on the bed.
Miki was startled by the presence of her niece and went on mute, turned off her camera to check on her, “Why are you here? Auntie is doing school stuff.”
“Eomma told me to go here.”
“Okay. Why?”
“Grown-up talk with the Ahjussi from Eomma’s work.”
“Okay. But Auntie is gonna be busy for 30 more minutes. You will have to stay here and be quiet. Here, watch your cartoons on my iPad.”
Miki thought it was just one of her cousin’s co-workers or probably one of the people working for her as they would often come to give her some paperwork to sign.
“You’ll be a good little girl for Auntie, arasseo?”
“Mhmmm,” Yuna replied without looking away from the iPad.
Soon enough, she got bored and a little bit upset that she was sent away. She wanted to watch her show on the big TV. She wondered whether her Eomma and the Ahjussi is done so she quietly sneaked out of the bedroom without Miki noticing.
Once she got out, she peeped at the corner of the wall and heard the ahjussi’s loud voice saying, “So we have a child and you did not tell me?!”
Are they practicing lines?
She thought her mother might be reviewing scripts as she often do that when they were still in Japan.
“If they’re only practicing scripts, why do I have to stay in Auntie’s room?” She thought but she went back to Miki’s room anyway because she doesn’t want to be scolded by her mother.
After an hour, Miki finally turned off her computer and stretched her back. She got off her seat and saw her niece on the floor, drawing on a piece of paper she must have found somewhere in the room.
She sat down beside Yuna and stretched her arms, “Auntie is finally done. What are you drawing?”
Yuna was silent and seemed to be contemplating something and Miki rubbed the back of her niece gently, “Hey, are you upset?”
Yuna sat up and turned to her Auntie to ask a question, “Auntie, do you know my Appa?”
She was caught off guard by the kid’s question and asked, “Why do you ask?”
“I heard Eomma practice some lines with the ahjussi,” she answered.
“Okay, and what was it about?
She furrowed her little brows, trying to remember what she heard. When she recalled what the Ahjussi said, in her deepest voice she tried to imitate him, “So we had a child and you did not tell me?”
Miki tilted her head in confusion and found it odd.
There must be a reason her cousin sent Yuna to her room. But she can’t act suspicious in front of her niece so she feigned innocence and told her niece that it’s a question that only her Eomma can answer.
Yuna accepted what she said, to her relief. That girl could pick up things easily for she is smart and mature for her age.
She stood up and picked up her niece from the floor, “Boy you’re getting bigger each day. I might not be able to carry you in my arms soon!”
Yuna giggled and wrapped her arms around her Auntie’s neck.
“Let’s go see what your Eomma is up to.”
When she was set on the floor, she went to the kitchen and saw her Eomma cooking.
“Eomma?” She called her mom, “The ahjussi is gone?”
Y/N was too lost in her thoughts that she did not even hear her daughter or even noticed that she was standing beside her.
“Eomma, open your ears Eomma,” Yuna tugged the hem of her shirt, “You said to open ears when somebody is talking.”
"Oh so sorry honey," Y/N said and smiled apologetically, "Eomma a is too focused on cooking," she explained, "What were you saying, honey?"
"The ahjussi go home?" Yuna asked.
"Yes," she forced a smile, "He went home already. Why are you pouting?"
Yuna crossed her little arms and stomped her foot in a cute, angry way, "Eomma promised to call me after grown-up talk."
She smiled at her adorable daughter, "Eomma's sorry. Will a desert make you feel better?"
Yuna's face lit up and beamed while nodding her head excitedly.
"Arasseo. Now, go watch TV. Let Eomma finish her coking."
Yuna scurried excitedly to the living room.
Miki stayed in the kitchen with her and she leaned on the counter sideways, facing Y/N.
"Unnie, Yuna ked me if I know who her father is," she said.
Y/N turned her head sharply to her cousin, "What?!"
"She asked if I know her 'Appa'. I told her it's something that only you can answer. So she might ask you about him," Miki explained.
Y/N sighed. She knew this day would come eventually, but it doesn't mean she's prepared to deal with it. Either way, it's bound to happen so she'll have to find a way to deal with it.
"Arasseo."
"Bad meeting? Yuna said that 'The Ajhussi from Eomma's Work' came here," Miki asked cluelessly.
"Yes," Y/N said in a tired tone, "Min Yoongi is the ahjussi from work Yuna is referring to."
"What?!" Miki exclaimed, "Why didn't you tell me? Is that why -- Oh my god."
"What?" Y/N asked and turned off the stove as she's done cooking, wiped her hands, and placed the ladle on the sink, "Oh my god why?"
"Unnie. I was in my class when Miki went to my room. I was too focused on my class and I gave her my iPad to keep her busy. Then, when my class ended, she was on the floor, drawing. Then that was when she asked about her father... and told me that she heard Yoongi say 'We have a daughter and you didn't tell me?' but she thought you were reviewing or practicing lines from a script," She continued, "Unnie, Mianhe. I should have known. I didn't --"
"Miki, it's okay. It's not your fault," Y/N understood that and reassured her cousin that she was not angry or upset, "Really, it was my fault. I panicked and did not tell you. I was so shocked that it took me a while to really register that Min Yoongi was on her doorstep. I sent her to your room without thinking about anything. Thank you for telling me."
They started setting the table for dinner.
After they were finished, Miki was very worried about her cousin.
"So what are you going to do now?" She asked.
"Honestly, I am just glad that I was able to survive that talk. I just wanted to crawl somewhere and cry, hoping it would all go away. But now, I don't know. I should probably explain things to Yuna. All that matters to me is her safety. I know the trend. We've dealt with a lot of problematic fans and individuals who are trying to sabotage an idol's career. They would go to the extent of invading their private lives. Some even harassed the family, relatives, or even friends. I don't want that to happen to my Yuna. I want her to have a normal childhood, the closest to normal as much as possible."
"I know. I understand and I don't want that to happen either," Miki agreed.
"Once they find out that BTS SUGA has a child, it'll be all over the news. It may become a scandal because we were not married and South Korea is somewhat a traditional country. Idols have to set good examples that is why they have so much pressure on their backs. BTS worked so hard to be where they are at right now and I don't want them to lose that. Plus, I am worried that this would also affect you."
"Don't worry Unnie. I'm here. I will support you and whatever decision you make. But remember who Yuna's grandfather is. He would never let anything happen to us or BTS. He considers them as his children, too," Miki said to comfort her worried cousin.
"You're right. I think I'll have to call Uncle first and see how he would deal with it. Yuna also needs her father," She said.
"One step at a time, Unnie," Miki said, "So that you won't be overwhelmed. And maybe, you need him, too. You are the mother of his child. I am certain that he still has feelings for you."
"I'm not sure about that. To be honest, I don't know if I am ready to trust him with my heart again."
"Unnie, you had a major success in Japan. A sealed career in Seoul. You gave birth and raised Yuna properly. You spearheaded HYBE. You can do this," Miki cheered.
"Thank you. I guess I needed the pep talk," She smiled, "I know that if there's a chance for us to become a family, I might do it. For Yuna."
"Awww don't cry, Unnie. I might cry too."
Y/N chuckled and dried her eyes with her sleeve. "Arasse. Let's eat. I'll get the tiny lady."
Later that night
"Are you done washing up and brushing your teeth?"
"Yes, Eomma."
"Are you in your pajamas now?"
"Yes Eomma," Yuna answered as she was going under her blanket.
"Okay good," Y/N smiled and sat on her daughter's bed to tuck her in.
"Eomma, is the ahjussi my appa?"
That was sudden, but she was not shocked that she figured it out. Yuna is an intelligent kid. She is mature for her age and she is a fast learner. She is multi-lingual, creative, musically intelligent, and curious about things. She's not mad that she overheard their conversation. She probably just checked if they were done talking and did not really mean to disobey her.
"Why do you think he is your appa?"
The little girl gave her a guilty look. Like a puppy that was caught doing something wrong. She wiggled her tiny lips and spoke in a tiny voice as she sank deeper in her sheets, "Because Eomma sent me away to Auntie Miki's room then I sneaked to see if grown-up talk is done, then I heard the Ahjussi say 'We have a daughter and you did not tell me.'"
Right. That conversation.
"That's okay sweetie. You don't need to be scared. Eomma is not mad," she said in a soothing voice then continued, "Well... See... Umm... Eomma had to make a big and very hard choice," she started to explain and Yuna listened carefully, "Remember those pictures and videos? Or the people with cameras who were chasing famous people?"
Yuna nodded.
"Those people are scary. Some of them have very bad intentions. They chase the famous people and their families and friends."
Yuna asked, "What do they do?"
"They take pictures and videos secretly. Sometimes they will make fake news and they will invade privacy."
"Pivacy?" Yuna repeated.
"Pri-va-cy," Y/N corrected, "It is like when you want to go potty and you don't want Eomma and Auntie Miki to see you."
"You gonna see my peepees!" She exclaimed, "So the scary people want to take pictures of famous people when they go potty?" Yuna asked innocently.
Y/N chuckled, "Well, sometimes, yes. They want to go to your territory and invade it. They follow famous people everywhere. Some would even try to kiss or hug or even hurt these famous people so that they can be remembered or noticed. They would go to their house and take pictures of them or just watch them. It is creepy and scary."
"Is appa famous?"
"Yes, honey," She answered, "Your appa is very, very, VERY famous here in Korea and the world."
"Does he hate me?" She asked sadly.
"No honey. No, he doesn't hate you," she reassured her daughter, "No. Appa loves you as much as Eomma does. Appa and I had a very big fight before I found out that you were inside my tummy. It was Eomma's fault that your appa did not know about you. I was afraid that the scary people with cameras would find out about you. I wanted to keep you safe. I'm sorry honey."
Yuna nodded. She seems to understand the situation. Thank heavens for their combined genes. She felt a pinch in her heart. The fear of being rejected, unwanted and unloved. That's what her daughter had been feeling and she doesn't want that. She wanted her daughter to be loved, cared and protected.
"Don't worry honey. Everything is going to be okay. Eomma will talk to your Poppy-pop and he will find a way to make this work. Your appa loves you so much that's why he came here. He wanted to be a part of your life."
That somehow made Yuna happy. She finally smiled and closed her eyes to sleep. Y/N kissed her temple and closed the lights. She exited and started to get ready for bed.
Before she hit the sack, she called her uncle to explain what happened. And of course, her uncle planned and reassured her that it was going to be okay.
"I wanted him in her life," she said.
"I know."
"What am I gonna do? I don't want the media to know. I wanted to make this work, but I am worried for her safety."
"Don't worry about the media. I'll take care of it. You will have to move into the same building as the BTS dorm so that you can have the needed privacy. It's also ideal for Yuna because she'll be able to see her father anytime she wanted. She can also play with Namjoon's twins as they also reside there.
"Aras-- Namjoon has twins?! Since when?!"
"See. I told you not to worry about it."
"And the media never found out about it?"
"The fans have speculations here and there. You just have to be cautious."
"That is great. Sometimes I forget who you are."
Her uncle chuckled and assured her that it was all going to be alright.
She decided that they'll be preparing the unit for them to move in. They had scheduled to have the rooms painted according to their liking and had their furniture moved there. They are going to lease her unit for added income.
They packed their things in boxes and she delivered the news to Miki and Yuna, who was very excited to know that she'll see more of her father.

FeralObi anon here. How do you come up with these so fast?? Are you an infinite number of ideas and worlds in human-shaped form? I love both of those ideas. The first one kills me tho, Obi gets his first kind touch in years from lil Anakin. Also you can have lil Anakin coming home one day with a skulking, snarling nonverbal murder puppy and saying brightly, "He followed me home, can I keep him?" Schmi thinks this is definitely worse than the time he brought a krayt dragon home.
ah! hello! yes this is the first idea of a feral obi-wan who meets anakin when he's still on tatooine. i will also still do the second idea because like. i liked them equally as much rip me
but i told myself these were going to both be very short snippets and instead this one is uh 2k so i'll post the second one tomorrow instead of tonight!
(ficlet where obi-wan is captured by pirates/unspecified forces at a young age and then tortured for a decade before he escapes to tatooine when anakin is like 6. obi-wan, after a decade of torture is....not alright in this fic though he's only here at the end) (2k)
Shmi had known that when she sent her little Anakin away to follow after the stern-faced, warm-eyed Jedi Master, that this would not be the last time she ever saw her boy. She couldn’t explain how she knew, just as she had not been able to explain how she became pregnant, but she knew beyond a doubt that one day, she would see her little boy back in her arms.
She just hadn’t known it would be so soon.
“He died, Master Jinn died,” Anakin mumbles into the front of her dress, unwilling to move his head far back enough from her hug that he could talk clearly. “On Naboo. And the stupid Jedi council refused to train me even after I was so amazing in the air. Mom, I destroyed a blockade! Entirely! And they wouldn’t--they didn’t--” his little face scrunches up and then he’s bawling into his hands.
A slave, a born slave, knows intrinsically the injustice of the galaxy. It is not often they know hope.
“Oh my boy,” she whispers, smoothing a hand over the top of his head. She has questions. She has so many questions about everything he’s just said and what those strangers have put her son through, but the most important thing is a question she cannot wait until he has cried himself out to ask. “Is your chip gone, Ani? Did they remove your transmitter?”
Because she had sent him away from her so that he could be free. And that had been her own twisted version of hope, that her son could know a life she never would again. If the Jedi masters had proven to be just like every other master in the world, she would find herself sobbing into her own hands.
“Yeah,” Anakin sniffles and wipes at his ruddy cheeks, pulling back a few steps. “They removed it and everything. And--”
He pauses and drops his satchel to the ground in front of her. “They gave me credits. To buy you. For my trouble.”
He spits out the last three words like they’re the most disgusting thing in the entire world. As if Shmi’s freedom isn’t laying at their feet, mere centimeters away.
“Republic credits are no good here,” she hears herself say faintly.
“Padme, the handmaiden you met, she talked to the queen about me I guess,” Anakin mumbles, kicking his feet. “And when the queen learned that the Jedi didn’t want me even after all that, Padme says the queen says I’ll always have a place on Naboo. Me and my family. And then she took the Jedi credits and gave me these instead. It should be enough, Mom.”
Shmi sits down on the floor. With shaking hands, she opens the bag and looks inside. Yes. Yes.
There’s more than enough.
There’s enough to buy her freedom and take her boy away from Mos Espa. There’s enough to take her boy away from Tatooine completely.
“I…” she says. “Ani, I…”
“Padme said she’d send a ship for us,” Ani reports as if their lives are not changing right in front of their eyes. “In two days ‘cause I told her it might take a little bit of time to get Ben to come with us. But we can’t leave without him.”
This is said fiercely and with his arms crossed tightly over his little chest.
Shmi stares at him.
“I’ve already left him once!” Anakin says, stomping his foot. “But that was okay, because I knew you would bring him food and water and stuff. But if we’re both gone, no one’s going to be there for him.”
Shmi bites at her lip. There’s a lot of things happening very quickly right now, and she doesn’t know how to process half of them.
Her son has come back, after only being gone for a week and a half.
He has apparently either endeared himself so much to the queen of Naboo that she was willing to give him the money necessary to buy his mother from slavery and also promise him sanctuary on her planet. He says he’s done this by single-handedly ending a blockade, which is something she just cannot even think about right now.
He has told this queen--queen--that he will gladly live on Naboo with his family. Yes. Alright.
His family seems to include his imaginary friend, Ben.
Anakin has been talking about Ben for years now, ever since he was six and a half years old and sent by Watto to retrieve any scraps he could from what looked to be a crashed pod in the Wastelands. She’d let him ramble on about the ghost of a friend, because she’d known it to be something all children go through and experience. She hadn’t thought Anakin a lonely child, not with the friends he made in Mos Espa, but she’d always known that Anakin had a wandering spirit, ill-suited for Tatooine. If he liked to imagine an older man from a strange world hiding in the caves of the Wastes, then she wasn’t going to say anything.
“You have been leaving him food, haven’t you, Mom?” Anakin asks, almost accusatory. “I told him to expect you and everything.”
No. Shmi has not been traveling to the edge of the Wastelands every day during her precious few hours of free time in order to leave food to be picked apart by womp rats and desert critters and not her boy’s imaginary friend.
“Ani,” she says cautiously, quietly, “we cannot...we won’t be able to bring Ben with us when we go.”
Anakin, predictably, does not react well. “Why not!” he yells, backing away from her even further and looking as if she is the enemy. “Padme’s fine with it!”
“Aren’t you a little old for imaginary friends?” Shmi asks desperately, feeling cold suddenly even though the heat of the mid-morning sun has not abated at all.
If anything, her son looks more offended. “He’s not imaginary! Saying...saying that he’s not coming with us...is...is a bunch of poodoo!”
“Anakin!” Shmi gasps.
“Come on,” her boy says forcefully, grabbing at her hand and tugging her towards the door. She gets on her feet reluctantly and has half a mind to pull back just because he needs to learn that this sort of behavior is not okay, war hero or not. “We’re going to buy you from Watto. And then we’re going to go visit Ben!”
---
Buying her freedom takes less time than Shmi Skywalker ever thought it would. It feels distant as well, as if it’s happening to someone else.
It doesn’t help that her Ani is impatient and surly by turn, spilling the coin out onto Watto’s counter and barely waiting for him to finish counting it before he’s looking at the price of renting a four-person speeder parked outside.
“You won’t survive out there on your own,” Watto sneers, even as he’s passing her the kill-switch of her own slave chip. “Days. It’ll be days until the Hutts find out there’s a newly freed slave with no connections out there in the open. Ripe for the pickin’.”
Watto doesn’t have to tell her any of this. She knows. Gods, does she know.
But Anakin seems so sure about possessing the favor of the Queen of Naboo, or at least her handmaiden, which might be close enough to the same thing. She thanks Watto--she thanks him and then doesn’t even know why--and meets Anakin outside.
He’s bouncing around the speeder, little hands clutching his satchel to his chest. “Good!” he says when he sees her, hopping onto the machine and putting the parcel between his feet. “I got Ben something called a fig on Naboo, but I don’t know how long it’ll take for it to go bad. Apparently they’re sweet.”
Shmi goes along with it. Shmi doesn’t know why she goes along with it, but she does. She can see this is important to her boy, and though she’d rather spend the afternoon and early evening saying goodbye to her friends, she will allow Ani to say goodbye to his imaginary friend. Maybe she’ll even talk to it. “Hi, hello, I’m so glad you’ve enjoyed the imaginary blue milk and delicacies I’ve left out for you this past week and half. Oh no, it was no bother. My son insisted.”
The ride is quick--Anakin has always been a driver to push the limits of any engine he comes across--and before she knows it, he’s dismounting on a piece of desert and rock that look exactly the same as the last four pieces of rocky terrain they’ve past.
“Ben!” Ani calls, satchel clutched firmly in his hands as he makes his way deeper into the crevices of the landscape. “Ben, it’s Ani! I’m really sorry that I left! Ben? Ben! I’m back now! Ani’s back!”
It’s actually...quite pathetic, to watch her boy speak so pleadingly to the cold stone faces of the rocks around them, but if this is what he needs to do to say goodbye to his life on Tatooine, Shmi won’t say a word.
“Ben--” Anakin draws in a breath to call again, but then there’s movement out of the corner of Shmi’s eyes, and something jumps from the rock down to land on her boy.
She screams and darts forward, but the thing on top of her son snarls at her in guttural warning.
“No, Ben,” Ani coos, stroking at the face that yes, is human, now that it’s not in unnaturally fast motion. “That’s my mom, Ben.”
Ben--Ben??--growls anyway, pinning the boy--her boy--beneath him with his legs and arms.
“She’s fine,” Ani murmurs gently, one hand reaching up to stoke over the beginnings of a beard on Obi-Wan’s face “Oh Ben, I’m sorry.”
The man on top of Shmi’s child finally looks away from her and at her boy, which is both better and worse.
“Ani,” Ben drawls out, as if the word--or perhaps forming the word--hurts him.
Anakin is happy. Shmi can tell he’s happy without even being able to see much of him. It’s like the very air vibrates with his joy. “Yes!” her son says. “Ani. Ben.” He taps the man’s chest. “Ben. Ani.”
The man buries his head into Anakin’s hair, hands rubbing up and down his sides and his arms and his face.
Shmi needs to say something, wants to say something about this strange man touching boy like he owns him, but the memory of his growl and the flash of his golden eyes stops her from stepping forward.
“Anakin, get away from him,” she hisses instead of stepping forward and tearing the stranger off of her son. She has the distinct feeling Anakin wouldn’t let Ben go anywhere, not with the way his little hands are holding so tight to the man’s shoulders. The man’s shoulders that are covered with one of her old tunics that Anakin had told her became unsalvageable after its last wash.
“No,” Anakin says, tightening his hold on his...friend. “He says you didn’t give him food the entire time I was gone! He’s hungry.”
Shmi thinks there’s a very good possibility that this Ben is going to eat her, but she knows not to say anything of the sort. Not when it’s two against one.
“He hasn’t said anything!” She cries instead.
Anakin huffs at this and pats at the feral’s head. “Maybe not to you, but he talks to me.”
Shmi stares at him and wonders if there’s something she’s supposed to be doing or saying here. The man won’t allow her to tear him off her child, she knows that automatically. But she can’t--she doesn’t know--
“Anakin,” she tries, desperately.
But Anakin doesn’t even look at her, too busy petting over the man, who has at least allowed him to sit up. “Hey, I’m sorry, I thought she would,” he tells him in an undertone. “I really thought she would, but I’m back now. I’m not going anywhere without you again--”
He extends his hand and Ben presses his cheek against it with enough force that it pushes him back slightly.
“You’re coming to Naboo with us, Ben,” Anakin promises, clutching at the ends of the man’s long hair. “Or I’m not going at all.”
To Shmi, it sounds like a threat.
The way her son’s eyes flash an unfamiliar golden color makes her feel cold as a Tatooine night. She shivers, but no one notices.

Georgenotfound- cooking stream
wc- 1920
~ George woke me up this morning at around 9am which is unusual for him he is never up at this time let alone waking me up for anything other than for me to join his stream. I knew exactly why he was waking me up as well because today he is doing a cooking stream and he wanted my help.
We had already rented an airbnb so that people couldn't work out where we lived and now today we had to get ingredients and move his set up over to the airbnb for the stream. I told George to decide what he wanted to make and I would look up recipes and make a list of ingredients because I just knew that he would do something wrong and the stream would turn out awful, I also had a backup plan that I haven't told George about just incase things go south.
I was still recovering from my sleeping state when the warm covers were ripped off my body and I was pulled forcefully from the comfortable mattress underneath me by my own boyfriend. What a traitor. He dragged me somewhere else in the house I wasn't quite sure where because my eyes were still adjusting to being open and needing to be used but I soon worked out we were in the kitchen and George was getting breakfast for the both of us.
"You know you could have just asked me to get up instead of dragging me out of bed" I said
"I know but thats no fun and plus I never get to wake you up so I thought I'd have fun with it" he replied
Classic George. Any chance he gets he will try and annoy me or make fun of me for some reason but I love me him so I deal with it. He got two bowls from the cupboard and poured cereal into them as well as some milk and giving me one of the bowls without a spoon but I moved past that after all it was early morning and George doesn't function at that time.
I went into the cutlery draw and got two spoons for us because George had yet to realise he was going to have to eat his cereal with his hands. I found him sat at the table that we have looking around clearly wondering where he had put the spoon he was sure he had grabbed.
I decided to play a little bit of a prank on him by putting his spoon somewhere random in the room and sat down with mine to make him even more concerned. He looked at me and the look on his face was priceless he was so bamboozled about what he'd done.
"Are you alright?" I asked
"No I can't remember where I put my spoon" he said
"Wow you really aren't a morning person are you" I said
He looked at me as I got up and walked over to where I put the spoon and grabbed it giving it to him.
"Did I seriously put it over there?" He asked
"No you never even got them out the draw so I'll let you decided if thats better or worse" I said
We ate breakfast together before George went to shower and I got dressed for the day because I showered last night. George had told me that he got outfits for us for the actual stream so I didn't bother getting dressed up in any way I just put on some leggings and one of George's hoodies that I took from his wardrobe. Sometimes he gets annoyed at me when I steal his favourite hoodies but this one is one of his many versions of his merch so he won't be too annoyed at me.
George came out the shower as I was doing my makeup and he grabbed his grey merch hoodie that he wears all the time so we would be matching today. He didn't seem to notice at first but as soon as he was ready he came over to sit with me as I finished off my makeup like he often does and that was when he properly looked at me.
"Did you steal my hoodie?" He asked
"Yes I did what are you going to do about it?" I said
"Nothing because you look cute in it" he said
I smiled at him and he took my hand to take me out the door to go to the shops and get everything that he needed for his stream. George never let go of my hand the whole car ride and the whole time at the shops, he can be very affectionate when he wants to be like some days he won't want to let go of me and other days he will be so consumed with work that we barely talk. Today's stream is going to be difficult if he's this attached to me but we'll work it out.
While getting all of the things we needed someone came up to George while I was further up the isle getting the right spices. George can get kind of awkward around fans in real life but then he gets even more nervous when he's with me even though the fans know he just finds it weird for people to see us out together.
I left him to talk to the fan and just looked at the wall of various spices that really meant nothing to me but I didn't want George to feel too awkward. That was until I looked over and he had a look of desperation so I walked over to him and he put his arm around my waist, he squeezed me slightly for reassurance. He used me as an excuse to stop the conversation he was having and the fan left us alone.
He told me all about the interaction and said it was super awkward because they didn't really know who he was just recognised him and was asking all sorts of personal questions he wasn't comfortable answering.
After leaving the shop we went home to get most of George's set up before heading to the air bnb to set everything up ready for later. George went into the house while I sat in the car mainly because he said he didn't need my help.
We spent a good few hours setting everything up and starting testing streams to see if everything was working and if camera angles were good. Once it was all ready George went to get the outfits he had brought for us, he handed me mine and I went to put it on. He had got me a proper chef top with buttons and everything and some black leggings to wear with it as well as a chef hat of course.
George started his stream without me so that I could watch it just incase something had broken in the time between when we finished setting it up and now. When I decided that everything was working fine I went into the kitchen to go and join him and get this thing started.
"Chat we also have a special guest this stream" he said
I walked into the view of the camera and the chat started spamming my name and this ship name they have given me and George which kind of doesn't work but they like it so we go with it.
"Hey chat" I said
We got on with cooking and George grabbed what we needed and started preparing things as I read the instructions to him. He did keep getting distracted by various different things and people that were calling him but we managed to do most of it in the end.
First we made mozzarella sticks which was pretty easy and then we moved onto cooking a steak and making chips which wasn't as easy. I offered to cook the steak because I didn't trust George but he wouldn't let me incase I hurt myself which I thought was funny because if anyone was going to get hurt it was him.
Anyway the both of us survived that and frying the mozzarella sticks which was more dangerous and then we got made fun of by Sapnap, dream, bbh and Quackity for calling crepes pancakes even though they are pancakes. (I will not be taking criticism on this) they kept insisting that what we were making wasn't pancakes but we held strong with our argument and won in the end with the help of the British viewers in chat.
When everything was made and we had tried it all we just kind of stood about talking to dream who was the only one left in the call. By now George couldn't bare to be away from me any longer so he put his arm around me and pulled me into his chest, he was not about to let go anytime soon so I gave in and put my head into his chest settling in.
Dream got George to follow his instructions he gave him which involved taking off his hat and headphones then he told him to mess up his hair, as soon as he said this I knew what he was doing and I appreciated it. George always styles his hair when he gets up but I love it when its messy although he never leaves it like that.
George messed up his hair and then went to the sink to get it wet and then messed it up more, he looked so good like that I almost got scared that his stream would see me blushing over just how hot he looked.
"What? I've never seen your hair like that" dream said
"I mean I like your messy hair" I said
"Wait you like it?" George asked
"Yeah of course I do" I said
"Well I guess I'm doing my hair like this from now on" he said
I smiled ruffling up his hair more to make it look exactly how I like it which his chat also appreciated, they were loving this just as much as I was. George ended his stream after like 4 hours making it just past 11pm. We packed up all of George's set up and cleaned the place before starting the drive back home.
By the time we got boys back home I was super tired but I had promised George that I would help him take all of his stuff back inside and set it back up which was going to take a while and I was not looking forward to it.
It took us two hours to set everything back up, I thought I was tired before but now I was exhausted I could barely move I just wanted to be in bed asleep. I tried to get up from my position on the floor but my legs were too weak so George had to pick me up and carry me to our bedroom where he put me down on the bed and chucked a hoodie at my face for me to wear. I got into the covers and pulled them up to just under my chin getting comfy as George got in too placing his arm over me and hugging me from behind which is how we normally sleep. My eyes gradually got heavier as George whispered things into my ear until I couldn't keep them open anymore and sleep took over.

Finally another oneshot, after forever and a day. I’m weak for soulmate AUs. I think most of you know that already.
SO WHY NOT ANOTHER?! WOO!
This one is based on a prompt given to me a hella long time ago, idk who sent it to me. Tell me who you are so I can credit you! I wrote down the prompt for me to remember, it’s something like; “You can write letters to your soulmate, and they travel through time either to a moment your soulmate needs the letter most or to a random point in time to them.”
—*—*—*—*—*
Dear Myself.
I’m doing this for school. We have to write letters to our future self. I am nine years old right now, the year is 2009. I hope you found a cool job! I don’t know what to do yet. I like drawing though! Science is icky, so I hope you’re not a scientist. But if you are, and if it makes us happy, then I guess it’s okay. Be the best scientist you can! If you are all moved out, did you ever get a pet hamster? Hamsters are so cute!
Oh, but most important. Yesterday, I was bullied by my Arch Enemy. You know who. Yeah. Anyway, she said some mean things and it just reminded me that sometimes life hurts, and people can hurt you real bad. But life is still pretty. A family of robins made a nest on my terrace outside my room, and I saw them after I was done crying. They are so cute, and made me happy again. So, always look for your family of robins to keep you happy, I guess. Life isn’t bad, even if some things and people are. I hope you remember that. Keep believing in yourself, and in others!
Marinette Dupain-Cheng (from the past).
Do not open this letter before 2020! Pretty please!
Shaking hands held the letter. It was written two years ago, but he only could have gotten it now. It just appeared on his desk out of nowhere. At first, he thought it was some sick joke. He had just moved to Gotham again, and none of his—
None of them knew he was back. But he recognized this handwriting. He had gotten exactly one letter from them before, written by an older version of this woman and received by him when he was ten. Not long after being taken in by Bruce Wayne. The letter back then had been short, precise. Comforting.
Hello there.
I am writing this in the year 2018. You see, I found out quite a while ago that my soulmate bond is unique. It sends letters to you that I write, from all across time. I can get your letters, too, so don’t hesitate to write to me if you need to vent. My letters might not always reach you in time to feel like a normal response, but I’ll keep writing if you do. I know your life isn’t easy, if the letters I’ve already gotten mean anything. But keep fighting. I know what it’s like to be the underdog. But I’m rooting for you.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, New Adult.
Jason’s hands crumpled the two pieces of paper in them, the older of the two already close to crumbling away. They had buried him with it, resurrected him with it. It had seen hell and back just like him, but he still kept it. Even with blurring ink and ripped edges and blood stains. The writing and names matched, even if his newer letter was written in the clumsy scrawl of a child. The nuances in the handwriting were still the same.
She would still be writing to him. This new letter he got was clearly the first, before she knew about her soulmate or how her letters would disappear after she wrote them just like his did. But 2009? It just sank into him, that she was younger than he was. By seven years.
But her words still kept him afloat better than any lecture from that asshole Bruce.
He couldn’t see her yet. Not any time soon, really. He was already eighteen, dead and resurrected, and she was barely eleven. He could wait.
She didn’t need somebody as screwed and dark as him right now, anyway. A murderer, a budding crime boss. If she needed someone killed for her, or someone to save her, he’d be there. Otherwise?
Jason took out the receipt from his last visit to a gas station for cigarettes, grabbed a sharpie from his desk, and began to write.
Yo, Mari.
I’m writing this in 2011. I got your first letter. Thanks. It reminded me of some good times. I’m sorry I didn’t write anything for five years. Stuff happened. I won’t write often. Not until I’m in a better place. But if you need it, you can vent to me too. Also, don’t look at the back of this receipt. This was the only paper I could find.
Jason T., Your Soulmate.
—*—*—*—*—*
Marinette, nine years old, stared down at the receipt that had taken the place of her letter to herself. She recognized that it was written in English, but she couldn’t read it yet. But that was okay, her Papan and Maman could read English!
She ran down, holding it in her hands tightly. She didn’t want the mystery letter to disappear! She handed it to her parents, who were in the middle of making croissants and stared at her for a moment. And then they broke into a flurry of movement.
“Why do you have a receipt for cigarettes, Marinette?!” Sabine yelled, confused more than angry. How would her daughter get a receipt written in English? And after giving her parents a confused head tilt, Marinette explained.
“It just appeared, like, poof!” She moved her hands to illustrate her point. “I was writing my letter to my future self for school, which is gone now oh no! Mlle. is going to be so mad!”
“Mari, focus,” Tom prodded gently, laying a hand on her shoulder. “You were writing your letter, and then what?”
Marinette took a deep breath. “Well, I finished it and put it in a little envelope. But as soon as I put it down and was all done, it shimmered red and faded away! This showed up in the same place my letter had been, like they were traded!”
Tom and Sabine shared a glance, and her mom held out her hand. “Can I read it, Marinette? I promise I won’t take it away. Your father and I just want to see what it says. We’ll read it to you.”
Marinette nodded eagerly, and after making sure their dough was put away the family of bakers moved to their living room and the little girl sat on her father’s lap as her mother held the note for them to see and read it aloud.
The parents shared another glance.
“Wow!” Marinette exclaimed happily, bouncing in place. “He sounds so cool! He is my soulmate? Really? I wonder what he looks like!” Her eyes took on a dreamy quality as she began to daydream. “I bet he’s super handsome! And nice and strong and—“
“Mari,” Tom said gently, tugging one pigtail playfully to get his daughter’s attention. She turned her large blue eyes to him, rapt with attentiveness. “I know this is exciting, but you know that not all soulmates are romantic, right?”
Marinette instantly calmed down, eyebrows pinching together. “But— but Nino said that soulmates are people you will marry in the future. Your perfect person. Like you and Maman,” she argued, incredibly confused. Her Maman chuckled, handing Marinette her receipt-letter back.
“Yes, but sometimes a person doesn’t need romance the most. Sometimes, what a person needs most is a friend or another family member. So sometimes, a soulmate is a big sister or brother instead, or another Maman or Papan. And we think that your soulmate might be the big brother kind,” she explained patiently. Marinette’s confusion instantly changed to excitement again, eyes sparkling with starry amazement.
“Really? How can you tell?”
“Well,” Tom took over, tapping the receipt with one finger. This receipt is from America. Over there, you have to be eighteen to buy cigarettes. Which means that, two years from now, your soulmate is already eighteen.”
“Or he better be, anyway,” Sabine growled, eyes narrowed dangerously.
“But even if he isn’t,” Tom nervously glanced over at his wife and back to his daughter. “The way he writes is too grown up for someone close to your age. He is probably several years older than you—“
“At least seven, if he knows what’s good for him,” Sabine interrupted again. Tom just chuckled and shook his head.
“But still. Are you okay with him not being a romantic soulmate, Nettie?”
Marinette jumped off of her dad’s lap, hugging her note to her chest with one of the biggest smiles either of her parents had ever seen on her face.
“Are you kidding? I’ve always wanted a big brother! I bet he’s so cool, and rides a motorcycle and beats up bad guys! And when we meet, we’ll go out for ice cream and he’ll ruffle my hair, and let me ride on his shoulders, and it’ll be so awesome!”
Sabine finally lost her threatening aura, laughing along with her daughter. “Well, I don’t know about the whole beating up bad guys thing. But it sounds like he might need some cheering up, so you should write him letters pretty often. You never know when he might need one the most.”
Marinette nodded seriously, eyes shining with determination now. “That’s right! I have to be the best soulmate-sister ever! I’ll start writing him another letter right now!” She instantly turned to run back up to her room, but her dad’s voice followed her:
“Marinette! You haven’t eaten dinner yet!”
—*—*—*—*—*
The next day, Jason came back to his base to see another letter. It was on special scrapbook paper, a pretty white with a heart-and-stars border. He found himself snorting despite himself, shaking his head and picking up the girly letter.
Hello, Jason!
I just got your letter! It’s still 2009, and my parents were worried about the cigarats. I wanted to learn English first, but Maman and Papan reminded me that you have to be able to read French if you were able to read my past letters (I wonder what I wrote you! My future self must be real smart). Maman says you better be 18, or else she’ll kick your butt. She didn’t say that exactly, but I could tell.
Jason snickered at that. She must have a pretty fun family.
Maman and Papan also said that you’re probably a Big Brother soulmate. That’s super cool! I’ve always wanted an older brother, but it’s just me. I get lonely sometimes. And Maman thinks I have a big imagination, so help me prove her wrong! I bet her that you’re suuuuuuper cool, and have a motorcycle and beat up criminals! She doesn’t think my soulmate would be a hero, but I think you are. I don’t even know you yet, but I just feel it. And even if you don’t beat up bad guys, that’s fine. You’ll still protect me like a big brother should, right? And we’ll go and eat ice cream and talk about the stuff we like when we finally meet. And I’ll protect you too. I know little sisters aren’t supposed to, but I will totally protect you anyway. If you’re sad, I’ll make you macaroons and read you a bedtime story. That always makes me happy.
Please write back soon!
Marinette Dupain-Cheng (from the past still!)
Jason couldn’t help it, and maybe the Lazarus magic had a bit of sway on him still, but he laughed raucously. A deep, belly-shaking bellow. His soulmate sure was a character! And scarily intuitive. How did she guess such accurate things about him? It was hilarious.
But he wouldn’t write back today. Not yet. He held no illusions; he wasn’t brother material. Not now, and probably not for a while if ever. Which reminded him, he had a replacement to kill.
—*—*—*—*—*
The Replacement lived, but at least Batman had gotten the message. Meanwhile, letters from Little Mari, as he had started calling her in his head, had started piling up. He read every single one, but didn’t respond to any. It was all the usual stuff. Talking about her day, asking stuff about him, spouting advice that seemed way too insightful for a nine-year-old.
He kept every single one. Soon, 2009 letters turned into 2010 letters. She switched from writing almost every day to once a week.
By then, Jason had reconciled with Bruce for the most part. After a few attempts on his life, but that wasn’t important. It was then, as he sat down in the living room watching Tim, Dick, Bruce, and the newest hellion Damian, all talking with and teasing one another that he finally got the urge to write again. So he asked for paper, and Alfred brought him a notepad and a plain ballpoint pen. And, for the first time in over a year, he started writing.
Dick and Bruce noticed first, stopping their banter to stare. Dick smiled softly, his shoulders relaxing as he let himself slump over the sofa’s arm a bit. Tim furrowed his eyebrows, and Damian frowned.
“What are you doing, Todd?” The young hellion asked, but Jason barely heard him.
“Nonya business, squirt,” he replied absently. Bruce chuckled fondly, beckoning to his two youngest sons. They both came a bit closer, and Bruce smiled at them conspiratorially. He leaned forward and whispered:
“Jason’s soulbond allows any letters that he writes to travel through time to his Bonded, and vice versa. Back before… everything, he used to write a letter to her almost every day.”
“It’s really sweet. We lined up the dates, and we think that she’s around your age Damian,” Dick added in equally softly. “Probably a familial bond. It’s good that he’s writing to her again.”
—*—*—*—*—*
Marinette was twelve the next time she got a letter from Jason. But, unlike the last one, this one came from the past. And it was written in French.
Hi, Marinette!
I guess I’m your soulmate. I got your letter from 2018. It’s 2005 when I’m writing this. I’m twelve years old right now, but that shouldn’t matter. It was a little surprising when I got a letter written in French out of nowhere! Luckily, I speak a lot of languages. I love learning languages, and reading is probably my favorite thing to do. Don’t tell anyone though! I have my bad-boy image to keep up. I think our soulbond is really cool actually, and maybe we can teach each other stuff if we do this right. I know the whole time-traveling-letters thing makes it hard to reply to each other like normal. From now on, I’ll write you these letters in English and translate them in French on the back. That way, you can read it whenever you want and also learn English if you don’t already know it when you get this letter.
Oh, and I think I’m older than you? In real time, I mean. If you’re a “new adult” in 2018, then you’re probably a few years younger than me. I was born in 1993. You can do the math, since I don’t know when you were born. Anyway! I’ll keep writing you as often as I can and hope that you get these letters when you need them most.
Jason T., Excited Tween.
Marinette laughed, running down to show her mom. She was only writing Jason once a month now, but in the midst of this first letter she had received in three years, her determination was relit. It was just the letters being dumb when they flew through time! No way he was done writing to her. Right?
“Maman! Maman, he really was eighteen when he wrote that first letter! You don’t have to kill him!”
—*—*—*—*—*
Marinette stared at the pile of letters on her desk, sighing. She ran a hand through her hair. She hadn’t been able to bring herself to read them yet, but she knew they were each dated from 2005. Apparently they had both decided to write daily when they had first discovered their Bond.
“Marinette,” the familiar voice of Tikki spoke you, the little Kwami floating over to land on her holder’s shoulder. “You should read them. Your bond wouldn’t give you letters you don’t need.”
Marinette took a deep breath, rubbing her already sore and red eyes. “I know. But what if—“
Tikki grabbed the letter at the bottom of the pile, flying over and handing it to the pigtailed girl. She smiled gently. “Read it. No what-ifs. Just read for now, Marinette.”
The newest Ladybug sighed, but acquiesced. She sat down at her desk, and began to read. Only two months as Ladybug, and already the pressure was becoming too much.
Two hours later, she had caught up and her mood was considerably better. Jason’s life was definitely no cake walk, but his humor bled through the more concerning details and helped bring light to Marinette’s day. Slowly, one by one, she folded the letters and put them in her special locked box inside her “diary”. She tried to keep a real diary once, but quickly stopped when she realized that even “dear diary” counted as a letter and sent itself to Jason.
She pulled out one of her special pieces of stationary paper and her favorite pink gel pen. For a while she stared at the paper, out of practice after a few months of not writing to him, but eventually she was able to begin again.
Hey Jason.
It’s 2013. I’m 13. I’m pretty sure you got the point by now, it’s not hard to figure out what year I was born. I haven’t responded to any of your letters in a while, but I guess that doesn’t matter. It’s not like I know if you’re gonna get this right away anyway.
So. Uh. Things have changed. I’m only thirteen, but I feel so old you know? On the bright side, your letters really did help me learn English. I mean, you probably guessed that since I’m writing this whole thing in English.
I guess I should explain. A little. A lot has happened. I suddenly have so many responsibilities, and it’s really hard to keep up with it all. So much has changed in just a few months, I feel like I’m going crazy. I’m keeping secrets from Maman and Papan now, which hurts the most. I can’t tell them, I can’t even tell you, but I’m not used to this. I don’t like lying. I don’t even know why any of this happened in the first place, I want answers and I’m getting radio silence. It sucks. But your letters from 2005 really helped, so thanks. I just got them this past year, which is really weird because I remember that our letters time travel and I feel crazy again. But this is real. Our Bond is real, and maybe writing you will help me remember that. Help me focus a bit.
Anyway, that’s all I can think of right now. I’ll try to write you again sometime this week if I have time. We’ll see.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng, Unsure Teenager.

As soon as Jason finished his letter, pretending he couldn’t feel Bruce, Dick, Tim, and Damian all spying on him from their own spots around the living room, the papers he wrote on shimmered red and vanished. In their place, a piece of tea-colored scrapbook paper with a decorative robin-and-egg border (he would never know how she could be so obliviously on point with the designs she chose), popped into existence. He blinked, snatching it up and looking it over. His eyes widened.
“It’s only from next year,” he said aloud, for the benefit of the nosy assholes sharing the room with him. “That’s the closest any of our letters have been to one another,” and then Jason’s eyes promptly went serious as she actually read what the paper said.
“Jay?” Dick asked after the man had been silent too long. Jason grunted, his eyes briefly shimmering green before he shook it away. He took a few deep breaths, and finally responded by standing up and handing the paper over to them.
“Something happens next year that fucks with her. All of the letters I’ve gotten from her, besides that first one back when I was still Robin, were from before this. 2009 to 2010. I even got a few from last year, not that long ago. She’s always upbeat and happy and never said anything about any concerning things besides some schoolyard bullying. This isn’t at all like her. The tone is off.”
“Well, it’s not like you’ve actually met her yet Jason,” Tim tried to console him, rereading the paper to make sure he didn’t miss anything. “This could be something mundane. A new school, or an issue with friends or something.”
Jason grit his teeth. “It isn’t. I don’t know how I know, but my gut is telling me it’s more than that. B, I want us to keep an eye on Paris. Something big happens next year, I know it.”
Bruce sighed, rubbing his forehead. “Funnily enough, I agree with you. Alfred, can you get up a monitoring system? we’ll keep it automatic until next year actually hits, and then I want someone personally checking up on Paris news at least once a month. Just in case.”

It was a year into HawkMoth. Marinette hadn’t written a single letter to Jason, but she kept getting the ones he wrote in 2005. When those ran out, she only had two from 2006 before they suddenly leapt to 2012. She guessed that that was because of the five year gap he had mentioned in his first letter, the infamous cigarette receipt.
She sat in her chair, reading the only two 2012 letters so far, the second of which had conveniently landed on her desk that morning. The first had arrived months ago, but she gave it a reread anyway.
yo, Mari.
I’m sorry I haven't written anything else after that horrible receipt, I was getting my life sorted out. things are better now. I have three annoying brothers, by the way. I told you about Dick, I think, in my early letters. Now I have two younger brothers too, Tim and Damian. Damian is a little shit, but oddly enough I think you’d like him. Oh yeah, I’m writing this in 2012 by the way. And yes, this small notepad paper was all I had. Don’t judge me. I guess I’ll answer some questions, to make up for my lack of letters lately. More up to date than what I told you back when I was a naive little kid anyway.
Yes, I have a motorcycle. It is my baby, and I have no idea how nine-year-old you was able to guess stuff about me so accurately. I am most definitely a bad boy, and I have five different leather jackets that I love to death. I’m trying to quit smoking. It’s bad for your lungs kid, don’t follow my example there. Also, I am so fucking proud of your taste in music. I know I had no sway in it, but the fact that Jagged Stone is your favorite musician instills so much older brother pride in me you don’t even know. My dad (You remember how I said I’m adopted, right? yeah that asshole. Don’t tell him I actually love him, but he’s still an asshole), he grew up with Jagged actually. He still refers to him as Jared, it’s surreal. I will definitely let you ride on my shoulders, even if you’re an adult when we meet. I give no shits. And ice cream is mandatory. Officially. I’m making it mandatory right now.
I hope you’re doing okay when this gets to you, Mari. And keep designing, the sketches you sent me were awesome! That’s some real talent. Don’t let it go to waste if it’s something you love.
Alright, the Doofuses are still staring at me so I better go before one of them snoops and sees the sappy stuff I wrote about them. You are sworn to secrecy about it too, Cupcake. No blabbing.
Jason Todd, Finally Kinda Okay.
Marinette chuckled at that, then put it aside to read the new one from that morning. It was shorter.
Marinette!
I just read your letter from 2013, holy shit let this reach you not long after that. You remember that 2012 letter where I was sappy about my family and shit? I hope you got that one first or else this is gonna be confusing. Anyway, this was written that same day. Are You Okay? If shit gets too bad, for whatever reason, you can always contact me. I know this damn letter thing won’t let me give you a specific way to contact me, not for lack of trying damn it, but I’ll say this: Bruce Wayne isn’t hard to get a hold of. Find a way to contact him if you need my help, and I will be close behind. He knows how to contact me. No matter what, Cupcake. I don’t care if you think you’re being stupid or dramatic or whatever lies run through your head. Contact him if you need it, and I will come to help you. I promise. Being thirteen sucks, trust me I know, so let me help you.
Jason Todd, Worried As Hell.
Marinette huffed, shaking her head. She wanted to take him up on that offer, but she couldn’t. She had just met the Guardian not too long ago, and he had made it clear that she couldn’t tell anybody about being Ladybug. Not even Jason. She needed to deal with this alone.
Scenes of bloated bodies filled her mind, all the people who had died just the previous day because of Siren. She had had to swim through so many corpses. So many dead, of all ages.
She rushed out onto her balcony, taking in deep breaths of fresh air and letting the sun’s rays warm her up and slowly bring her out of the haze of burning memory. She was fourteen already. She could handle this. Her childhood had died the moment she had been given the Earrings, ripped away from her too early. Her old self had died. Now she was Ladybug, she was Marinette Dupain-Cheng and she was responsible for the fate of even more than just Paris. She couldn’t let herself fall. Not now, not ever.
The loud roaring of a motorcycle made her jump, and she ran to her railing just in time to see a gorgeous black and red bike come to a tire-screeching halt on the street right under her. The biker, she could tell he was large and covered head to toe in corded muscle even from her spot high above his head, slowly took off his helmet. Black hair with stark white bangs came into view, and startlingly deep blue eyes met hers. Marinette’s breath hitched; it was him. She could tell, his mere eye contact made her feel safe and warm and like… like home had found her. He gave her a roguish grin.
“Come on, Cupcake! I believe I promised you a shoulder ride and ice cream. And you gotta keep me from beating a certain old man into a bloody pulp!”
He knew. Marinette smiled widely, a laugh tearing itself from her throat. Hysteric, overjoyed, free. He knew, and it was okay. She didn’t even have to tell him. She took a few steps back, and then vaulted straight over her railing.
“Catch!”
Jason threw his helmet to the side, running forward just in time for her to land safely in his arms. He glared down at her, but his eyes held no heat. “That was incredibly reckless. I shouldn't be proud, but I am. Don’t do that ever again.”
Marinette giggled. “No promises.”
Jason set her down, picking up his helmet before opening the storage on his bike and tossing her a smaller, pink one. “Sorry it took so long. I wanted to come last year, as soon as I figured out what had made you send that concerning letter, but I was told that I would be an instant Akuma. But after what happened yesterday…” Jason shook his head solemnly. “I knew you’d need a break. Come on, Gotham actually has some amazing ice cream.”
“How are we gonna get to Gotham right away? how did you..?”
Marinette paused, Jason keeping his motorcycle’s storage open just long enough for her to see his Red Hood helmet.
“We got portals for that,” he responded nonchalantly, nobody was nearby to overhear anyway. Marinette looked up when he closed the storage compartment, putting her helmet on.
“Well. Then I’m glad you actually took my rant on the Gotham vigilantes to heart and used my designs, because your old mask was disgustingly ugly.”
Jason rolled his eyes, and waited until she was behind him on the bike before revving it and replying;
“Trust me, I know your feelings on it. Demon Spawn and Replacement teamed up to steal that letter and made copies. Now one is pinned to the fridge and I spent another several hours cleaning up the ones they posted over every inch of my apartment walls.”
“... I approve.”
