how they met you headcanons: crispin, basilio (trese)

a/n: no specific ethnicity for the reader, but it is mostly assumed that the reader is of pinoy descent; I hope you all enjoy this, pls don't hesitate to add more! <3

crispin

okay so i imagine that mr. more-serious-than-his-younger-brother crispin has not really grown up to be a hopeless romantic

didn’t date, didn’t think that love is real (“it’s cheesy”/“baduy naman”), so finding his one true love hit him like a ton of bricks

sees you for the first time while working on a case with bossing, you live next to the house of the victims

really found you cute, but he didn’t get the chance to approach you because you had slammed the gates closed in front of him

he sees you again completely by accident during another case, and crispin was so surprised and thankful

he keeps trying to make eye contact with you, while you are trying not to make eye contact with the tall, muscular man who is wearing a dark suit

he finally asks you out, and you at first freak out, somehow convinced that this man is a part of a gang or is some scary rich dude who is the future ceo of his dad’s company or something

to your surprise, he picks you up (still dressed in a suit) but brings you to a small family restaurant--almost a carenderia

it is so amusing to find him so overdressed during the date, but it is a nice dinner and you two have fun talking and getting to know each other

he is so cute when asking if you wanted to hang out again, and when you say yes, he smiles so brightly

you get streetfood the next time you hang out!

at this point, crispin kinda already knows about your life story, but you still dont know his

he seems to be a little closed off about the topic, but you dont push him

crispin is gone from time to time, only texting you sporadically, but you dont question it even though you are curious, because you trust him and you may be just a tiny lil bit infatuated

when he does tell you everything about him, he prefaces it so seriously and grimly that you think he will say he doesn't want to see you anymore

instead, he sullenly tells you about his life, ending with an apology for not telling you sooner

"i was just so scared you would run away"

you tell him that you wont run away and surprise him when you throw your arms around him and kiss him

he is honestly so whipped for you oh my god

if crispin is free, he will always drop you off and pick you up from school/work

he brings you to meet his family, basilio, alexandra, hank

they accept you as part of the family, and you immerse yourself in their library, reading up information about their lives

whenever they finish a case, you would be there, having cooked nice, warm meals for them

crispin would come up behind you and wrap his arms around your waist, resting his chin on your shoulder

he would whisper, "thank you for taking care of us" and presses kisses on your cheek down to your neck

you dont go out with them on a case, even if you want to (you and crispin fight over this, but he simply insists that he cannot lose you or even see you hurt)

he keeps his words of affirmation and affections as private as possible

basilio and hank tease him a lot if he tries to show any affection towards you with them present, and it bothers him at first

but you just laugh it off, ignoring the "uyyy" and other teasing remarks

basilio laughs when he sees his twin relaxing against you on the couch, crispin's head laid on your lap, "who's cheesy now?"

to this, crispin laughs before looking up at you and kissing your hand

he whispers "i love you against your skin"

i would say that compared to basilio and his s/o's relationship, your relationship with crispin is a lot more serious, more mature

kinda have the husband-and-wife vibe even though you aren't married yet (but you both know that this will happen eventually)

crispin knows that you are the one, and is hell bent on keeping you happy and safe

secretly looks up "perfect proposal ideas" when he realizes one night just how much he loves you

always has you in his arms when you're asleep, the sound of your heartbeat, and the feeling of your breath against his skin reminding him just what he is fighting and living for

he is fighting and living for you, and the future you two are going to share

basilio

the younger and more mischievous of the two, it didn't surprise everyone that basilio is the last person to realize his love for you

he met you shortly after being adopted by carlos trese, you were a family friend and possibly another babaylan from another city/province

came to the treses for a visit and was surprised to see new members of the family

you bonded with the twins almost instantaneously, becoming best friends with them

although everyone could see that you were closer to basilio than you were to crispin, mostly because of basilio's more laid back personality

absolutely thick as thieves with him, to a point where crispin would sulk and complain that you were stealing his lil brother from him

you would all play games until you were downright exhausted, from playing house, hide-and-seek, patintero (you try not to play catch with them bc you know they're gonna use their powers anyway) and the sad days were when you had to leave

you once had a tantrum as you clung to basilio, begging him to hide you from your parents so that they wouldn't bring you home

crispin and Alexandra had to pry you away from him, and he didn't talk to them for like 2 days after you left

as you two grew older, the games lessened and you focused more on training and battle strategies

but the closeness never left

you also kinda know that basilio cares for you, and to be honest, you wouldn't say no if he ever asks you out, but he never did and that's ok

outside of his family, you are his best friend and he loves you just as much as he loves his brother and sister

but it was obvious to alexandra and crispin that when you got older, something changed in the way basilio looked at you

he kinda looks at you just a little bit longer than usual, simple touches linger here and there, the slight overprotectiveness, the little acts of love

he brings you food ("we stopped by the carenderia and they had your favorite ulam")

brings you flowers ("where did you find these arabian jasmines/sampaguita?" basilio shrugs, "bought them on the way home." "he plucked them from aling josie's garden," Alexandra tells you as she walks past the two of you)

crispin tries to tell basilio that he should definitely ask you out, because it's so clearly obvious that you both like each other, but basilio tries to deny it

"torete ka bro, please just go ahead and tell her how you feel"

and basilio kinda sits on the idea, like literally has an existential crisis trying to figure out if he loves you romantically or just platonically

so he tries to imagine his future

he doesn't think much of it, thinking that this world is going to consume him long before he would have the chance to build a life anyway, but amidst the thought of death, he sees something

just a flash of light and sounds of laughter

it's you, carrying a young girl as you smile at him, standing just in front of the gate

and basilio thinks, that's such a nice vision, coming home to you

whenever he thinks of possibly settling down and having a family, it has always been with you

it has always been with you since you were kids, and now it's still you

so when he tells you he loves you during the most inappropriate time (fighting off aswang kidnappers), you grin at him and yell "I love you too!" back

and he removes his mask for a second before clarifying, "no y/n, I am in love with you!"

you grin at him again before exclaiming, "I know! i loved you since we were like 10"

after the fight, he doesn't hesitate to bring you into his arms and kiss you

you kissed his cheek when you were kissed, absolutely out of curiosity, and you were both like "ewww that's gross" but now it's not

it was perfect, like it was meant to be

unlike crispin and his s/o, you two are pretty chill about your relationship, kinda lowkey with it too

you don't talk about marriage (yet), and ppl who see you just think you two are either together, or just very best friends

you two are comfortable with each other and know each other from the inside out

the times where his cheerful personality changes is when it involves your safety, then he becomes so much like his brother, stoic and almost scary

will not ever compromise your safety over anything

basilio grew up with you, and now he plans to grow old with you

hakuouki kyoto winds and edo blossoms thoughts no one asked for:

(spoilers; in order of play)

full disclosure, it’s been a few months since i played this but i can’t get them off my mind so… :) sorry it’s messy. the first few i just did as the choices led me, but later i planned out who i was going to do in order so i couldn’t just skip all the people i wasn’t looking forward to 😩

heisuke

no okay hear me out i love him but i did NOT want his route first in Kyoto winds initially solely bc of his hair😭 with those bangs!!! no sir!!!

but of course he’s the first route i ended up on and he grew on me immediately

also didn’t realize there were actual routes in Kyoto winds bc all the reviews said it story-heavy, so i thought it was just one big story

very much incorrect

anyway his route is so 😔💔

i cried a Lot because it’s just so sad seeing him go through the fury stuff </3 and he tries to stay happy for chizuru but he’s so clearly in PAIN and ugh

anyway as u can see i got extremely attached and would now protect him with my silly little life (even with the bad bangs💀 plus now i have bad bangs too so we’re twins✨)

sanosuke and nagakura are so fun in this route too!! rlly a good time when they’re around despite how much they clown my boy🧍‍♂️

it’s just an innocent and lovely pairing in which they get to grow with one another

his design in the second game is so cute

and i just LOVED seeing him in all the routes i did after, it was like he was there watching after you 😭

solid 9/10, very glad he was my introduction to the series ^^

saito

alright okay everybody make way, the king has arrived🤲👑

look. i know he’s a little dry BUT. that’s honestly exactly what i was expecting so i wasn’t disappointed

it’s very much a slow burn with you gradually earning his trust and worming your way into his heart

but even from the start he’s just… always there for chizuru. mans shows up for you every route anytime you need him and without reservation

he’s down bad idc idc

he’s also just. genuinely very kind in his own way, which is quiet but there nonetheless

also mega badass

cute how much he loves swords. sad he feels useless with the dawn of a new era of fighting :/

but chizuru helps him through it :)

and his ENDING SCENE where he’s just out in the snow unresponsive because you aren’t calling his first name💀 mf you’re going to die out there pls get inside

also the snowbunny 💔♥️

definitely hurt my feelings in like every route it happened, but was always happy to see him again

(im just randomly remembering bits of story this is so chaotic srry😭)

anyway. i love him

also a solid 8/10

yamazaki

liked how active chizuru is in this route!! the medic angle was refreshing

similar to saito, wasn’t expecting much in terms of romantic gestures, but he surprised me! it was an unexpectedly emotional ride

cute seeing him flustered. also seems down bad in most routes he’s heavily in💀

don’t have much to say about his, but i enjoyed it! it was nice watching his relationship with chizuru develop

he was very sweet. 7/10

i was SO excited for his route

he seemed so nice and sweet

and then he goes and gets a demon hand and is SO MF MEAN

like i get that it’s bc he cares about chizuru and feels like he won’t be able to control himself otherwise but Damn 😭

i did like how unique his route was. you don’t really get his story in any of the others

even so, he remains a lil on my shit list. but he gets a pass ig

was also really excited for his route!! he’s just so considerate in all the other routes towards chizuru and his route was no exception

his scene when chikage comes to steal you and he protects you and checks on you afterward….. one of my fav in the whole game

very grateful for the tiddy window

still loved being around nagakura and heisuke! my boys

the way he f*cks you on the floor on a whim 😭 mans did not hold back

his route was a little uneventful tbh, but that’s mainly because of the role he had to play in the other routes i think

anyway. 7/10

nagakura

nagakura bby where did it go wrong………

i kinda read some stuff about his route going in so i knew people weren’t crazy about it

but i was like “c’mon, it’s nagakura! how bad could it possibly be??”

😐

there’s just like zero character development and very little romance

and bc of that it feels like there’s nothing learned at all in terms of an overarching theme

the difficulties he faces are either ignored or solved almost immediately with zero opportunity for reflection

the little sister relationship with chizuru is cute and funny for like the first three hours and then im like OKAY CAN WE PLEASE GET ON WITH IT

idk makes me sad bc his route could have been so good >:( i love him in everyone else’s route but his own

sigh. 4/10

sanan

was really not looking forward to his route tbh but it wasn’t half bad

it was nice getting a view of everything from the other side of things after him being a villain in the story for so long up to this point in my playthrough

was still kind of off-putting for most of his route though

which i think is intentional

but instead of making me more interested in sanan’s story, i was like can i please go back to heisuke 😭😭💔 he’s like right there with you for parts of it c’mon

anyway you do get some good insight into him and why he turns out the way he does, his tragic fear of uselessness and all

on the whole didn’t hate it but wasn’t in love with it either

i am so sorry i feel like the last few have been so negative but this one just was not for me

i didn’t like him the first time he came around in saito’s route for me, didn’t like him in his own route💀

i think he’s just supposed to be like this dashing, morally-grey rogue but i was just like 😐 yes yes guns and trading and the rise of western technology, now are you going to pull me into a pyramid scheme or something?🤨

just. not a fan of his opportunistic nature and general disregard for others

souma

FINALLY back to the good stuff

i really loved souma’s route for so many reasons

first his relationship with chizuru as a subordinate is so cute and the way he protects her is just . sweet. naïve, but sweet

but god DAMN did this route destroy me

probably the saddest one out of all of them

this was also the first route i really saw what was happening to okita…. or like one of the first times it really hit me ☹️

you watch everyone die. like. EVERYONE

for several characters, this was my first time seeing them actually die or hearing about it officially i think, and it was just so much

it’s extremely heavy and hard to watch sometimes seeing how much souma is suffering because of it

like when he messed up and told okita to punch him and okita hardly left a mark? then souma is sent reeling?

yeah. i was weeping

and hijikata……. also absolutely wrecked me

the pressure put on souma just grows and grows and all chizuru can do is watch and try to support him, which is heartbreaking

the romance was obviously kind of stilted in some parts because of the heavy subject material, which is expected and appropriate, i think

in my mind, the lack of romance and emphasis on just being by his side really cemented the bond between the two of them so i think it served it’s purpose

my only actual complaint about his route was the ending? the whole tongue biting thing… just felt really anticlimactic and i was like? that’s all it took to get chikage to finally go tf away?

but in a way i think it’s kind of emblematic of the story itself

souma’s story isn’t some great romantic saga for the ages

it’s a story of pain and grief, in which the ending isn’t something grand and picturesque

rather, a woman patiently awaiting the return of her lover from the other side of these terrible tragedies

anyway. not to get too deep, i just really liked his route

9/10 :)

okita

his route probably stuck with me the most, tbh

i put off doing it for so long out of fear i wouldn’t like him lol

because from everyone else’s routes, i saw glimpses of him, but it was never enough to pin him down

so when i finally got to his route and saw his story firsthand, i was kind of blown away by how much i liked him

a big part of it comes from uncovering his past, which was devastating because, as cute as he was in childhood, i couldn’t forget what would soon happen to kondou

seeing that relationship play out finally was also pretty eye-opening in my understanding of him in other routes

and suddenly okita’s childishness and spitfire temperament began to come together for me

because in a way, okita is still just a kid

he was forced to fend for himself from so young and clung on desperately to the one adult willing to give him the time of day

and he told himself that as long as he had kondou, everything would be okay. as long as he could prove his worth to a man he respected as a father, it was okay to be alive

so when his usefulness was slowly stripped away, it became more than a fight for his life against an illness. it became a fight for his right to be alive in the first place

it explains his extreme denial and anger at facing the truth of his illness, because to him, if he was truly sick, he was as good as dead

i think some of that was alleviated at becoming a fury, if only slightly. but being confronted with kondou’s death took any semblance of normalcy away entirely

now not only was he useless, the man he devoted his life to was gone. in a way, he was right back where he started all those years ago before he met kondou

and it’s this very vulnerability that accelerates the attachment he feels to chizuru significantly

and basically overnight the entire dynamic switches

and he clings to the one thing he has left: chizuru

which isn’t to cheapen his love for her; in my mind, it just explains why all of a sudden everything felt different, why he was suddenly willing to pull her close and bare his heart

regardless of the reason why, i found his childishness is very endearing given his usually sharp tongue, even with his pouting and reluctant acceptance at being cared for in any capacity

could not BELIEVE this mf still had tuberculosis after becoming a fury. 😭 i was like okay surely the regenerative powers of the potion can fix that. but evidently not :(

and when he lets you dry his hair….:: yeah

also in love with the way that he just like Shows up in some routes out of nowhere to save the day. like hell yes 👏

always enjoyed the scene when you’re on rounds in the city and run off and he has to come after you

well. idk if enjoyed is the word bc he was like hacking up a lung and whatnot. but his concern was genuine, which i appreciated

his ending was also very sweet. it’s so nice getting to see him happy. he deserves good things, damnit

anywayyyy there is much more i could say but overall, 9/10

chikage

alright was also kinda dreading this mf, but ended up decently enjoying the route

main takeaway was that i want a route for shiranui 😭

but really didn’t mind chikage in the end

his willingness to accompany chizuru and arrange things on her behalf in the latter part of the story was really nice to see

also his eventual respect for her own agency and her choices

not sure if it was this route or the previous, but i had somehow ENTIRELY MISSED the route where your twin brother and fake dad kidnap you up to now

don’t know how i didn’t see that even once until so late in the game, and it’s such a big part of the story??? anyway

the ending on his was melancholy, but fitting

overall not bad and even kinda romantic sometimes, 7/10

hijikata

i wanted to go for this man IMMEDIATELY but i made myself wait because i KNEW if i did I would lose motivation to play all the routes

so i saved him for very last

it’s like a reward 😀 (90 hours later)

y’all….. i just. he’s so FINE like COME ON

idk maybe my daddy issues are just actin up but the immediate attachment i felt to this man lasted the entire mf game

the RASPINESS IN HIS VOICE⁉️

not to be h-word on the timeline but god damn

AND IM JUST GONNA SAY

IN THE FLASHBACKS AT THE OLD DOJO????? WHEN HE WAS YOUNGER????????? yeah

i don’t even wanna KNOW how fine he was in his early 20s 😭🤚(how old is he in game again?? idk)

it felt so dirty going with chikage bc i felt like i was betraying hijikata😭

but being able to be his lil page was so fun

like you could tell he was just trying to make you feel useful so you didn’t feel bad (though he’d never admit it)

and i think that is very sweet

the fear of disappointing him was real 💀 (come to think of it it was def my daddy issues acting up💀💀)

lowkey like how mean he is sometimes😳 so long as chizuru isn’t on the receiving end

always got SO jealous when he was flirting with kimigiku in the hotel or whatever

like YES you’re both beautiful YES you’re perfect for each other, stop rubbing it in

love how every argument with him starts with him super mad at first and then in the next sentence justifying whatever you did or didn’t do

like “You mean to tell me you ran into a fight without a weapon?! What the hell were you thinking?!……. Well, I guess you couldn’t help it. There are only so many weapons to go around, after all.” (an exaggeration, but im too tired to find real examples rn)

like he’s just so soft on chizuru and some of the boys, especially ones from the original dojo

it was so hard seeing all the pain he had to endure as the leader of everyone. and he just takes it and moves forward :(

with this situation especially, being on the losing side and constantly at a disadvantage, abandoned by supposed allies

having played through so much of the game, i feel like i was fr mad when shit like that happened to the shinsengumi😭 like you mean to say our backup retreated AGAIN?? the cowards!!!

very strong leader and pretty badass ngl

his ending….

many tears were shed

i just really liked his route

romance was pretty eh given how emotionally constipated this mf is, but there were still some really good moments

story was great, development between the two was nice to see. and when he insisted he go alone to the final battle but chizuru shows up at the last minute and everyone was saying how sad he was…… yeah:/

anyway, i think for the amount of story that had be told, the writers did a great job

on the whole i just really enjoyed playing this game, and i can’t wait until i get the urge to replay my favorite routes so i can experience it all over again :)

you haven’t cut your hair since you entered middle school ‘til your last year in high school.

and you started dating bokuto on your second year.

bokuto already loves your long hair, he loves to touch your soft hair and loves the smell of it too.

but when he saw you enter the gym with a short hair

the big baby was shock.

it’s just like yesterday when he saw you with long hair but now your long hair gone short.

the whole team too are shock when they saw you with short hair.

bokuto is excited and happy to see you with your new look.

he was about to walk towards you but his teammates went to you first.

“y/n, you cut your hair...”

“short hair looks good on you”

“I never thought you will cut your hair that short”

the boys complimented your short hair when they saw you.

“well, I did this impulsively yesterday sooo... yeah”

you said as you reach for your shoulder length hair

also you and kuroo are actually schoolmates during your high school days

you know him because he play volleyball but for him, he didn’t know you until the two of you became classmate in college.

anw, the two of started dating in college because the two of you are blockmates.

you’re now in the last year of college and you know shit became so stressful

out of stress, you decided to cut your hair short

even though you know kuroo loves your long hair, you still did because you’re an impulsive girl

so, the day after you cut your short, you’re in the living room of your apartment with your laptop, finishing some of your requirements

then kuroo entered your apartment and called your name, to know if you’re in there.

“y/n, are you there??”

“I’m at the living room, baby”

kuroo went straight to the living room and he suddenly let out a loud gasp when he saw your hair.

dude was really shocked while you, you looked confuse because you literally forgot that just cut your hair short.

Kita will actually like notice it immediately.

though he will not show that much of reaction to you.

but when his other teammates notice he it and showers you compliment about your new look.

boy, this dude will lowkey warns his members because he is actually jealous that you’re getting a lot of attention.

you kept hair long since your middle school but one time, in your 3rd year high school, you thought of cutting your hair which you actually did.

so when you go to the school with your short hair, everyone was shocked, like your classmate.

your classmate told you that you look great with your short hair, something like that.

during your lunch time, when Kita first saw your hair, he immediately pointed it out.

“you cut your hair short”

“yes, I did”

you answered, waiting for your boyfriend to say something more. highkey waiting for him to compliment you

“you look great”

“uh- thanks”

‘is that it? is that all he gonna say to you?! I just look great? not beautiful?’

It had sounded like a plea falling from Techno’s chapped lips, blood caked under his nails as he sat in front of Tommy on a tree stump, slowly itching at his wrists.

When Wilbur Soot was born, he came out crying, as most babies do. Covered in vernix and blood, he weighed just barely above the seven-pound mark, gasping out sharp cries that only a parent could truly stand, or worse—love. Though he was the second baby born into the family that day, he was fussed over far more than he would ever be again.

Technoblade, on the other hand, had barely made a sound when he came out, a trail of blood smeared across his forehead, almost as if it was meant to be there. He made small noises that were more akin to confused mumbles, weakly grasping at his father’s hair when he was eventually passed on for the second child to be welcomed into the world.

Only when both boys were held in their father’s grasp did Wilbur quiet down, his soft head leaning into his father’s beard as he stared wide eyed at the boy across from him. Though they looked similar enough, Technoblade’s nose was squished further back into his face, appearing almost snout-like to Philza. Of course Wilbur noted this, wiggling until their father somehow managed to get them pressed right up against each other with minimal damage done. Though Techno never stopped squinting like an annoyed old man at Wilbur, he allowed the other to press a fist against his nose, his eyebrows unfurrowing just the slightest bit at the touch.

From that day on, Philza was the father of two twin boys—a loud boy who cried easily, but always calmed down for his older brother, and a rather monotone one, who’s face seemed to be permanently stuck in a scowl, unless said face was being smushed around by the younger. And things worked like that for a while. Not forever, but...a while.

Philza taught Wilbur to braid on a hot Monday afternoon.

It had been a rough day for the boy, though Phil hadn’t a clue why. Maybe he had just woken up on the wrong side of the bed? Or maybe he hadn’t slept enough between bedtime and the time Tommy had started crying again, the youngest boy’s crib being right beside his head and all. Though it might’ve seemed cruel from an outsider’s perspective, Wilbur had been the one to ask for it. Something about Tommy being his little brother and how he needed to teach the boy the ways of the world in the same way Techno had taught him—because apparently that was all Techno’s doing now, not Phil’s.

Regardless, Wilbur had been a bit too snippy for Phil’s liking that day, complaining about every little thing they did until finally, the day was over.

Well, as over as it could be with Techno leaving mid foam sword fight, an annoyed shout of ‘I quit!’ leaving his mouth before he snatched up Tommy’s carrier and brought him inside for god knows what reason.

It had only been around four P.M. by that time—too early for dinner, yet too late for Phil to really demand the boy stay outside and continue to entertain himself with a brother who was clearly not entertained himself.

Details aside, Phil isn’t really sure how they got to braiding. He just knows at some point they did and by the end of their outside time, just before the clock struck six, Wilbur had made two thick, messy braids in his hair. They stuck out awkwardly, looking all too similar to Pippi Longstocking’s iconic hairdo for his comfort, but he’d be damned if he took out the braids his son had so happily rushed inside to show his older brother before demanding to do his hair as well. After all, Wilbur didn’t have long enough hair for braids, but Technoblade sure as hell did. It was only at his shoulder blades back then, brunette curls wrapping around his narrow shoulders and thin arms like thick vines.

Wilbur had always enjoyed brushing it out with his fingers and putting cute, handmade clips or flowers in it at random, decorating the waves for his brother who was more than happy to let the boy do as he pleased. Though he would never admit it, Technoblade liked how it felt when Will played with his hair. He was always careful not to tug too hard, prioritizing the comfort of his other half more than the beauty of his work, as he so often referred to it.

So when Will had presented him with the mess that was his first two braids, he wasn’t hesitant at all to let the boy practice on him. Instead, he walked to the couch with a small smile, removing his glasses gently and getting comfortable before his brother plopped down into the space behind him. Long legs draped over long legs with no warning, thighs pressed together as if they were meant to be like that all along—and they might as well have been, for how often they did this.

Phil had watched them from the doorway in content silence, Tommy sitting behind him in a wooden high chair looking bored, but not making a fuss for once. And as he left that doorway to begin dinner, he listened to their muffled conversation and soft bursts of laughter with a small smile on his lips, for he knew things wouldn’t always be this way. They would have to grow up eventually, and when they did, things would change. Phil could only hope it was for the better.

When Tommy turns nine, Wilbur teaches him to braid under circumstances not too different from the ones he had learned under himself.

Philza and Technoblade had been...busy as of late. In the house for three days, out for a week, in for a week, out for three more, over and over and over again. Wilbur had become more like a father to Tommy in recent months than he should’ve been, his fourteenth birthday fast approaching as their father took Techno out for yet another job, one that Wilbur couldn’t come on because he was too fucking weak to do anything Techno could do, too fucking stupid to learn all the techniques Techno did, lacking all the strength and agility his older sibling possessed, like the useless prick he was-

Right. This is about Tommy.

When Tommy was nine, his hair rested gently against his collarbones in the exact same cut and color as their father wore. If Wilbur was a lesser man, he would’ve hated the kid for it, but it wasn’t his fault that he couldn’t see what a selfish git their father truly was yet. All he knew was that their dad was busy a lot and that, for some reason, Techno needed to go with him. Apparently, that was enough for him to keep holding onto the idea that one day, the man would stay longer and maybe, just maybe, show him some of the same care that his older brother did.

If Wilbur was a better man, he would tell Tommy the truth. He would tell him all about the way Philza had called him useless in a fight, forcing him to instead stay home and care for a child while still being one himself. He would mention how Philza had given him no instructions on how to care for a developing child, how he left out key details to parenting on his own as a goddamn thirteen-year-old, yet remembered to tell him things would be better this way because god forbid he does his fucking job as a father for anyone but Technoblade—

Who he missed. He missed Technoblade, his other half, so fucking bad it hurt sometimes—so bad it left him gasping for breath at two A.M., his head pounding in tandem with his uneven heartbeat, lungs burning as his snot and tears soaked into his brother’s cold, cold sheets. And it made him feel fucking pathetic because the truth of the matter was that...Techno had left him behind too. Still, he couldn’t bring himself to hate the older boy, no matter how hard he tried. Couldn’t hate Philza either, if he were to be honest with himself, but it was a lot easier to pretend he did when his father was the one putting them all in this position to begin with.

So, Tommy was nine when he learned how to braid.

Phil had promised him and Techno would be back Tuesday morning.

It was Wednesday afternoon.

Tommy didn’t fucking understand, and as frustrating as it was that the prick decided to take it out on Wilbur, he couldn’t blame him. Who else was he supposed to take this shit out on? Certainly not the man who had yet to return.

Wilbur had started the braid as a way to distract him. It was simple, really—tell him you know something he doesn’t and that he won’t get to know if he doesn’t sit the fuck down and listen.

When he had started tugging the boy’s hair back from his face, his immediate reaction was to jerk away, swatting at the hands that hovered over his shoulders. This only happened once or twice more before he let it happen naturally, his posture stiff as Wilbur ran his fingers through the boy’s hair with practiced ease.

Though it may not have seemed like it, Tommy was significantly more averse to touch than Techno had ever been. The only reason Techno even seemed averse to it was because of his hesitance to initiate, something he and Wilbur had discussed in depth. Rejection was one of the few fears Technoblade truly had and Wilbur held that fact close to his heart, ready to die with it if need be. Tommy, on the other hand? He was very particular about where and when and why someone was touching him, and it had taken Wilbur a long time to get used to that fact. But, he wasn’t about to make his little brother uncomfortable just so he could be happy and, eventually, he learned the ins and outs of how to touch TommyInnit without causing issue.

Pulling a few of the shorter strands towards the front of Tommy’s face loose, Will separated the blonde’s hair into three sections. They were rather small, what with how thin and short his hair was, it just barely being long enough to even have a proper braid in it, but Wilbur knew he could make it work.

“Now, Toms, you gotta listen to me here, because I can’t show you this bit, yeah? Phil and Tech aren’t here, and my hair is too short, so you’ll just have to feel it out for now, but...this is how you braid hair-” Wilbur had said in a soft voice, brushing the pad of his thumb over the boys neck slowly to ease the tension out of his shoulders. The effect was immediate, the boy slouching forward as if he had just noticed he was holding himself so sternly. Smiling softly, Wilbur instructed him on how to weave the strands together, answering questions and pulling lightly at Tommy’s hair so he could feel exactly where everything went. After he was done, Tommy had reached back to feel the bumps in his hair, all his earlier anger seemingly gone as he gave a small smile. And then he tried it himself.

Of course he got a bit of help at first, Wilbur’s larger hands guiding his own with gentle corrections, but after that Tommy worked on it alone, his older brother watching in silence from a patch of grass beside the porch step.

That night, Tommy and Wilbur slept in Techno’s bed, a soft, blue blanket wrapped tightly around them. And if another body woke them up at some point that night, shoving its way into the mess of limbs, their chest pressed right up against the youngest boy’s back, then that was only for them to know.

At eleven years old, Tommy takes a pair of scissors to his hair. With flushed cheeks and salty lips, his hands shaking and his eyes foggy, he cuts, cuts, cuts, until he can no longer braid his hair—until he can no longer look like fucking Phil.

Even though Wilbur had once said he hated Tommy’s long hair—hated how similar he and their dad looked—he felt like crying as he ran his fingers through the uneven strands. He didn’t tell his brother this though, instead grabbing his face and planting a wet kiss on his freckled forehead. In a fierce whisper, Wilbur had said, “I’m so fucking proud of you, Tommy. So fucking proud.”

Tommy never forgets the way he felt that day. He doesn’t forget Wilbur’s words either.

When Wilbur loses his last life, Technoblade tells Tommy to braid his hair.

It wasn’t a question either, but a demand forced out between gritted teeth, his face red, his nose stuffy and his lashes wet with unshed tears. Still, his words were clear as day.

“Braid my fucking hair, Theseus. Braid it.”

It had sounded like a plea falling from Techno’s chapped lips, blood caked under his nails as he sat in front of Tommy on a tree stump, slowly itching at his wrists.

“Wilbur told me to stop you if you ever started doing that-”

“Wilbur isn’t fucking here. Just...braid, Toms. Braid.”

Tommy sniffled, but did as he was told.

Maybe it was because he was too tired to argue with the only person he even had left. Maybe it was because he could tell Technoblade was mad at their father for the first time in his life, and he knew how bad his first time had felt. Or, maybe, it was just because he knew Techno fucking cared. Nobody else seemed to, but he knew Techno did and...that was enough for him.

As long as someone else cared—as long as it was fucking Technoblade—that was enough for him.

Just as Tommy had finished the braid, curling his finger around the light pink tail that tied the whole thing off, Techno yanked it forward. Before he could even register that the hair had left his hand, the older boy had taken an axe to the top of it, letting the rest of his hair fall around his face in uneven curls. Though it was a good ten minutes of work wasted, Tommy couldn’t say a damn thing as he watched Techno pocket the braid, muttering a thank you and heading in the direction of Wilbur’s unofficial grave.

In that moment, he felt relief for the first time in a long while.

Louis continued. “His nose probably hasn’t picked it up, and you’re lucky Liam’s also a beta, but it took me a minute to confirm it. Your scent is gettin’ so…” He seemed to struggle to find a word. He didn’t finish the sentence, but the emotion in his voice made Harry’s tummy churn.

Or, Harry is a touch starved omega trying to get through it on his own. Louis happens to be the only alpha around to realize it and offers to help.

OK ok ok ok ok okokokokokokok I’m so fucking glad you asked because I’ve been wanting an excuse to talk about my boys for AGES now. Here and here a post I did a little while ago about how the boys came into custody with Yoshi, but I’m gonna talk about when they’re older and teens since that’s fun! Pictures of them as teens, for context, are here and here.

So they’re technically all half brothers, except for Raph and Mikey cause I wanted that relationship for them.

Raph is the oldest, at 16. Donnie and Leo are the same age, though they aren't twins, at 15. Mikey is 13. I wanted to make Mikey a little younger than the rest of them because he’s baby

Raph and Mikey are half Ghanaian, Donnie is half Italian, and Leo is half Cuban.

Yoshi still works as movie/action star Lou Jitsu, and it was Yoshi’s wish to keep his boys out of the spotlight as much as possible, so they could keep normal lives. So as far as all their schoolmates and teachers know, the Hamoto’s dad just runs a dojo on Prospect Avenue. Which is partially true, actually, and the boy’s current living place is above said dojo)

Mikey likes to express himself in the way he looks, so he’s always dying his hair and wearing bright and colorful clothing and jewelry. His favorite thing to wear is Raph’s giant sweaters, which he steals on a daily basis because he knows he can get away with it. Raph only complains about it half the time.

When Yoshi finally agreed to let Mikey get his ears pierced at age 10, Mikey was excited but secretly terrified to do it. Leo knew Mikey wanted to do it, but understood that it was scary to do it alone, so he volunteered to get his ears pierced too, using the excuse that it could be ‘their’ brother thing they did. Mikey was of course, ecstatic, and Leo didn’t mind the weird looks the other 12-year-old boys gave him on his little league team. Cause Mikey’s been parading the biggest smile on his face for the past week now, and if he’d known that it would've made the kid that happy, Leo would have gotten matching earrings years ago. (Now Leo goes with Mikey every time he gets his ears pierced. It’s sort of a fun bonding thing they get to do, and both of them enjoy the one-on-one time they get with each other.)

Even though Donnie is only a sophomore, he’s also taking concurrent classes at the local college that’s only a few blocks down the street, and even though he loves learning and is a literal little evil genius, he also hates the American education system, and actually got quite a bit of bad grades growing up before he had to teach himself how to perform and present his work the way the school could grade him properly on.

The only reason he doesn’t skip a grade or two, which he easily could if he took the aptitude tests some of his teachers try to get him to take every year, is because he doesn’t want to be separated from Leo.

Donnie has 4 sets of glasses at home because he’s constantly breaking them. Either from failed experiments or from getting into fights with schoolyard bullies and kids from his robotics class. (He and Raph both definitely have temper issues, and while Raph works really hard to keep his in check with breathing and physical exercise, Donnie just fully gives in to his, like a short live wire)

All the boys know a good amount of martial arts from Yoshi, though they’re never allowed to use it outside the dojo unless it’s specifically called for, (like a mugging or as self-defense) and are never allowed to use their weapons without Yoshi present. (though, Yoshi goes away a lot to California to shoot his movies, so the boys are left home alone a lot. And when dad’s away, the boys will play. Raph is pretty good about making sure the weapons never leave their home or dojo, but sometimes Leo and Mikey will try to knock down soda cans in the kitchen with throwing stars, and as long as nothing gets broken or too damaged in the process, Raph thinks it's fine)

Leo is extremely sporty, and while all the boys have their own hobbies they like to do (Mikey with his art and theatre classes, Donnie with his robotics and science olympiad teams, and Raph with his boxing club) it’s Leo who shines in the sports clubs. His favorites are Baseball and Basketball. He used to do soccer with Mikey when they were little, but he didn’t like the contact of it so much, and there was really no point to continue playing it after Mikey quit. (Leo is fast and scrappy when he wants to be, but he respects himself and his body was too much to try and play a contact sport like football. Plus, all the guys on the high school teams are jerks anyway, so Leo doesn’t even bother with them.)

Raph has always been a big and strong guy, even when he was a kid, he was always bigger and broader than most of the kids his age, and this trend didn’t stop in middle or high school. He got recruited to be in wrestling and football a LOT, but he has a bad knee due to a car accident when he was young (also the reason behind all the scars on his body) and can’t put too much pressure on it for too long without wrecking it. So he takes up boxing, which he absolutely loves. It’s a good way for him to keep his energy up and get a good workout in without hurting his knee, and it also helps him keep his anger in check. Whenever anything stressful or anxiety-inducing comes around, a few rounds with the training dummies and punching bags in the dojo do well to clear his mind and work out some of those microaggressions.

The boys don’t have a whole lot of actual friends. Sure they have friends in their classes or clubs, but none of them they would consider a best friend, quite like they would consider April a best friend. She’s special. She’s the only one who gets all the perks.

They met April on a playground, like, 5 years ago, when some kids were making fun of Leo’s vitiligo, and she essentially swooped in and defended him and scarred the bullies off. Boom. Instant best friend forever. She’s also the only one that knows that Yoshi is actually Lou Jitsu. (she learned by accident, but she swore to eternal secrecy, so it’s cool)

Leo is allergic to shellfish. (Don’t know why this needed to be stated but it did)

Mikey’s the only one who has ever been suspended from school. (It was just a three-day suspension but still)

Donnie has a bad back from leaning over his computer and desk so much while working, that sometimes he has to wear a back brace and just lie flat on the ground for a few hours to stretch it out (Sometimes he just forgoes these steps and just continues to wok through the pain. Leo and Mikey have to physically threaten to get Raph to sit on him for him to actually try and take care of himself)

Mikey has a scar on his upper back from the same car accident when Raph and he were young. It doesn’t hurt and he forgets it’s there most of the time.

They technically have two places they stay at. When their dad is in town and home from a movie shoot, they live in a penthouse suite in Batter Park City. They all have their own rooms there. But when their dad is away, they choose to live in the apartment above the Lou Jitsu Dojo that’s closer to their school and clubs, in Brooklyn. (That apartment is smaller, but the boys like the comfort it brings and prefer that one. Mikey and Leo share one room, while Raph and Donnie share the other)

When their father is away, they have a nanny that lives right next door, who’ve they affectionately call Piebald, due to her ginger hair and her giant koi fish tank set up in her living room. (Piebald had been their nanny ever since the boys were little kids, and she’s practically like a big sister to them)

Hello loves! ~~Here I am, once again, not finishing one of the other drafts that I have and making a different post~~ (meant to be sung with the make it shine tune) Pretending like you didn’t just read that, I am here to recommend some bamf/spy AU fics because currently, that’s my vibe LOL. No this will NOT have mafia (even tho they are bamf’s) because this is supposed to be spy/secret agent orientated :))))))) (I say this, but if they overlap, they overlap.)

Because of the nature of this list, many of these fics will prolly be a little/lot graphic with their depictions of violence so beware and be warned! I won’t put individual warnings cause like I said these are all a bit graphic in their own ways. That being said, let’s get down to business (cause Mulan IS a bamf) ;)

just a boy undercover (and a boy with the getaway) by volchitsae (M) 14.1k /SakuAtsu/ twin fight rendition number idk but it’s good so whatever LOL. Is it really a SakuAtsu fic without one mention of a major twin fight? (probably yes but in this case no LOL) This one was SO good and I love how annoying Sakusa is >>>> for Atsumu. Also the acceptance at the end ajfakdlf HEART WARMED.

Anyway, this is SPICY so avoid if you don’t like smut heheh. I absolutely love when they use fighting as foreplay like adflkhf yes PUNCH HIS FACE (does that make me violent? probably LOL).

In knives and bullets by badreputation (M) 8.3k /SunaOsa/ UGH this one. Suna and Osamu’s relationship is *chef’s kiss*. And like I love how it isn’t too rushed and they took their time (also angry Suna is HOT). Like the tension at the house during the thing and then the PROPOSAL (LIKE YES). I always find myself coming back to this fic cause I just really love it <3

training by Sebastians_senpai (M) 3.2k /IwaOi/ again the smut.... ANyway, this one is some bamf Oikawa and head-made-of-steel Iwa LOL. Also some avengers talk makes it’s way up (and need I say, Iwa probably did look hot af when he did that), and him constantly hitting the other guy (cause spoilers hehe) made me laugh (ie. targeting LOL).

glass stained black by unrequitedangst (E) 31k /SunaOsa/ OKAY I said nO mAfIa Au’s well.... Technically it’s a SPY mafia AU so teehee. Also another repost cause why not LOL (but altered cause my writing is atrocious). The character development of Osamu is really legit and despite being mafia, it’s not that heavy or angst of a fic (but you should still definitely read tags and warnings first). ✧ picked up on this parenting thing p fast, also does a lot of research so he’s ready to face any situation

✧ teaches his kids how to behave n respect others

✧ also makes sure they know not to talk to strangers and teaches them some self defense

✧ be warned these kids are packing a surprise can of whOOP ASS,, dont fuck w them,, plus u wouldnt want buff daddee iwa on ur tail

✧ honestly his kids would be ANGELS ,,, n thats cuz he treats them all so w e l l

✧ mans is ATTENTIVE. he asks his kids about their days, their interests, and encourages discussion about their fEELINGS 🥺

✧ stared at his child like ???nani when you both changed their first diaper

✧ also had plenty of staring contests with his babies ,,, called it bonding

✧ was curious and tasted baby food once,,, immediately regretted it

✧ once put a volleyball next to his child, who attempted to bite it, and took it as a sign that they liked it

✧ after sum time n practice, his mind becomes split between “how to volleyball” and “how to dad”

✧ catch him in the kitchen wearing an apron and whipping up his kids’ favorite smiley face pancakes 😤😤

✧ has an amazing ability to get his kids to stop crying, does really simple things like give them their favorite toy or place a gentle hand on their hand or attend to their needs (mans can tell if they want food or needa poop) and they calm down immediately

✧ carried them on his shoulders once and now they never stop asking him for shoulder rides (not that he minds anyway)

✧ if theres two kids he can probs carry one on each shoulder cuz cmon ,,, have u seen this man

✧ always goes to every performance/game/event his child takes part in

✧ but is overall super supportive of anything else his child pursues and doesn’t push anything onto them, would rather let them choose what they want to do

✧ knew parenting was stressful esp with bABieS but was like eh it cant be that bad right

✧ calls up osamu a lot to ask him how to make food ,, then simps whenever his twin brother comes over and the kids are in love with this man and his cooking (”dad why cant you make stuff as yummy as this”)

✧ plays with them a lot! whether it’s sports, just dance, animal crossing, or UNO, yOU NAME IT WE PLAY IT

✧ also has no mercy when playing competitive video or board games,, has made them cry more than once LOL

✧ so sometimes he toned it down n let them win,, until his kids actually got better and DEMOLISH him every time

✧ is cool with his kids cursing, just as long as they don’t do it in front of their teachers LMAO

✧ plays innocent when he gets a call from school saying his kid was using ‘inappropriate language’ and is like “whaaat? my child? im not even sure where they learned that, maybe check if the other kids in class are saying those things, too--”

✧ reminisces how much nicer his kids were to him when they were younger and all the time they spent together,,, bc now that they reached their tEeNS they want alone time

✧ also very supportive of whatever his kids want to pursue and dedicates time to help them in whatever ways he can (whether that be to help them practice, make sure he can provide transportation, get them supplies, etc)
