Wow. It’s been 2 years??? I thought I would be done with this comic in 2 months! I don’t know whether to feel worried or accomplished!!

(With months between each update, I understand why it’s been 2 years. I’m a slow writer and artist and well- many things have come up in my life that had to come first, like my sisters wedding! 💞 and college 😅)

You guys are relentless! I’m as impatient as traffic and yet you guys wait for weeks or months at a time for like 4 pages?! You guys don’t even complain!!! My feelings with this comic are actually so complicated. On one hand I hate looking at my older art because GOD IT LOOKS SO OFF I want to stab it, and then on the other hand I am so so proud of myself for even continuing it this far. Ngl the weird route has been one of my favorite parts of this comic. It took me FOREVER to figure out an ending, but damn do I still get chills >:) hehe.

I’m still miffed that I named this project “Deltarune: The Chara Timeline” I could have gone for something so much COOLER. Doesn’t help I use like 7 different titles for it either. We got Deltarune the Chara timeline, Deltarune chara timeline, THE Chara timeline, chara timeline, Ct??? Man,,, I’m crazy. I take after my family so hard. We have 3 names for each of our dogs 💀.

Comic/Animation Tip i have learned. It is VERY GOOD to make the character relatively simple in design. Shape language is also super important, ((but I never really got around to doing that before I was half way through the comic, woops.)) These things can make ur process go by so much faster. This whole comic has been a HUGE learning curve. LIKE OH MY GOD. I had to learn how to draw backgrounds, write dialogue, plan a story, learn how to draw fast and draw noses (which god damn I really still can’t). And I had to learn how the heck to squeeze art into a tiny page and make it not look grainy. It's intense!

Anyways.... this has been such an awesome opportunity! Thanks Toby Fox!

and brainrot. I've been sketching these ideas out for like, a year. And done nothing with them until this point

this is the outfit that I base Sun and Moon's wedding look on because I just think it fits so well. I share this so you guys see the vision and forgive my inexperience with drawing these folds

Also, I went through several variations of what Y/n would wear before settling on this bc nothing that came up when I searched "gender neutral wedding gear" really fit

Wanted a mix between gown and suit and y'know this ended up being more suit but I like it a lot so we're going with that. It also came to me in a vision so that has to say something.

(Ok but I did envision Y/n having a dress similar to this one character's dress in Bad Guys but I couldn't draw it so I scrapped it)

Sae Itoshi The daimyō with wonderful red kimono and golden embroidery visit your family restaurant and wants you to cook for him for the rest of your life, or until he gets tired of you. Sae takes you to his castle and you are so excited to work for such an important daimyō; maybe your family will have a wealthy but modest life from now on. Too bad Sae also wants you as a concubine. He really can't understand your surprise when after giving him his tea he pushed you toward the futon, wasn't his intention clear from the start? Maybe not, the headbutt you just gave him still stings; "arrogant bastard, I'll never fall for you". But is it real? Or you'll fall for that dastardly guy, grown a little too fast, that wants to travel the world, but still has many insecurities?  And will you be just one of his many concubines or something more will develop?

Rin Itoshi: The brother of the daimyō Sae Itoshi. Planning to get his revenge and take his brother's place. Can't suffer you from second one, just one of many concubines of his brother and another loss of time, he's sure of it. Then why he can't get you out of his mind? Why instead of warming his brother's bed you spend so much time with him? Your sweet words warm his body and make his heart beat faster and Rin can’t stand it; he has big plans, and he doesn’t have time for a silly crush. Not even when he notices you talking more with Sae and a green monster has his heart in a vice, dark emotions piling up. Will you be able to end his hatred and conquer Rin’s heart? Or you’ll be just one of his pawns?

Shidou Ryusei: The skilled ninja working under Sae, you meet because instead of using you as a cook the young daimyō found you clever enough to learn medicine and assist his best men in battle. Obviously, Shidou finds you so boring, that’s why he rather tease you endlessly to see your flustered expression while you patch him up.

“Wow you are so elastic Ryusei-sama! I suppose that years of training were really useful!”

“Yeah! That and breaking all my bones since I was a little child”

“W-What!? Are you kidding me, right?”

You are Shidou favorite toy and he can’t really let you go, meanwhile, your growing feelings for him make his teasing work even more! Will you be able to see behind the ever-smiling persona and discover his dark past? Or yours will remain just a playful banter?

Yoichi Isagi: Your childhood friend going down the path of the samurais. He always protected you and promised you he’ll always do. He works hard ‘till he becomes one of the best warriors under his lord Sae Itoshi, the same lord that now wants you all for himself. The last time you saw Yoichi he was just a small kid and now he is a young man, with brave eyes and a proud smile and Yoichi is smitten with you as much as you are with him. Too bad his lord doesn’t have nice intention and Yoichi knows he should be happy for his friend to go with such an honorable man like Sae, but Yoichi really can’t let you go with him, his crush of years ago resurfacing as strong as a waterfall. Will he always protect you from afar, or Yoichi will finally have you all for himself? Michael Kaiser: The eccentric merchant from an unknown land. You never know if he is trying to sell his merch or directly himself to you. You don’t know how his sellings can go that well, when he loses half of his time wooing you, but you have to admit that he must have some talent. Anyway, he talks too much

Michael comes to your family restaurant as much as he can, flirting with you the entire time, always gifting you (and your relatives too! Damn buttlicker) fascinating objects from the various lands he visits. Will you fall for one of his many attempts? And will Michael be able to demonstrate that he is in fact as skilled as a merchant as he is in lovemaking?

Alexis Ness: The right-hand of his boss Michael Kaiser. His cute face attracts a lot of clients, both men and women and you fell for him like many others. Too bad he only has eyes for his boss and he thinks you have too. That’s how your rivalry starts, a rivalry that lives only in Alexis’ brain since you have zero to none interest in Michael. How can he not see that the sweets you made are exactly his favorite ones? Or that your eyes sparkle in that beautiful way only when you look at him? But what’s worse in Alexis’ mind is that he can’t think of his Michael as much as he used to, his mind is always full of ways to defeat you, and finally shout that he won and maybe kiss you, then pulling away the obi that tie your kimono and bed you and oh no; his mind is only filled with you after all. Will Alexis understand that it is not hatred the emotion that is eating him, but love? Or the impending war will destroy any chance you have?

MY FAVORITE TINTIN SIDE CHARACTERS

ARRGRGWHDHEH I'M VERY VERY PROUD OF THIS I'M NGL!!!!!!! I LOVE THE WAY I COLORED THE CHARACTERS, I LOVE THE POSES I DREW THEM IN, I MADE SOME DECENT COMPOSITION IN THIS ONE!!!! HATE THE EDITING I DID I FUCKING SUCK AT EDITING

Anyway, I'm going to ramble about these guys and you can't leave until I'm done ok? Ok.

First of all, MY BOY MY SON MY PERSONAL LITTLE DEMON, ABDULLAH!!!!!!! he is very endearing to me!!! But I really do wish we could've seen more of him!!!! He looks mischievous enough to sneak on adventures along with the marlinspike crew himself for shits and giggles!!!!! HIM AND HIS DAD'S DYNAMIC IN LAND OF BLACK GOLD IS MY FAVORITE IT MAKES ME SO GIDDY AND HAPPY. like no matter how obnoxious and annoying Abdullah's pranks can become, his dad will forever love him unconditionally. MY FAVORITE DYNAMIC. I MISS THEM SO MUCH.

A little note, even though a lot of poc representation in tintin is pretty influenced by the stereotypes of the time, and a bit of orientalism, tintin and the land of black gold is also the first time in my childhood where the words "assalamualaikum" Was muttered in any piece of animated media. It definitely wasn't perfect, but that was important to me as a Muslim child. Maybe that's why Abdullah and his dad hold a special place in my heart!

Next up we've got ARREGEHFHFHHGHJ!!!!!!! CHANG!!!!!!! MY FRIEND FROM SCHOOL WHO HELPED END A CRIME RING IN SHANGHAI!!!!!!! I adore him and his personality so much!!!! HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS AS A KID AND HE STILL IS TODAY WHEN I REWATCH BLUE LOTUS!!!!!!!! The way that the moment he was saved by Tintin in that flood he pledged his undying loyalty to Tintin will never not be sweet to me. HE IS SO TALENTED AND CUNNING, HE SAVED TINTIN FROM CERTAIN DOOM MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE LITTLE TIME THEY'VE SPENT TOGETHER, AND IN TINTIN IN TIBET, TINTIN SAVES HIM ONCE AGAIN (Tintin in tibet is also a very memorable and special episode for me) AND JUST-- ARGEHDBEHF I CAN CONTINUE ON AND ON ABOUT HOW CHANG SHOULDVE BEEN INCLUDED IN MORE ADVENTURES!!!!! actually Tintin has TONS OF CHARACTERS who should have been given more important roles in a lot of different stories!!!! Idk maybe that's just a wish that will never be fulfilled.... Still I can dream!

And last but DEFINITELY not least... THE MILANESE NIGHTINGALE HERSELF, BIANCA CASTAFIORE!!!!!!!!!!!! AGHHDHEHFHJDHV MY GORGEOUS MY BEAUTIFUL MY LOVE MY EVERYTHING I MISS HER SO MUCH

SHE WAS A HIGHLIGHT FOR ME!!!!!! AND SHE IS VERY UNDERRATED!!!! I love seeing how much she treasures her friends, how she's so dramatic about everything, how she has such an unapologetically loud and large presence and personality everywhere she goes, how she is genuinely passionate about her singing and her art, how she clearly knows her worth and won't settle for less from anyone.

Every time she was on screen she always made me feel very happy and warm inside, also I really like her voice!!!!!

AND HER DESIGN!!!!! ARRRGHWHFHH HER DESIGN!!!

I'm ngl, she was the hardest for me to draw. But at the end I'm quite satisfied with the results!!!!

She would be such an amazing friend. SHE'S ALWAYS BRINGING GIFTS AND BEING CONSIDERATE WITH HER FRIENDS, AND SHE WOULD NEVER HIDE JUST HOW MUCH PEOPLE MEAN TO HER

PLEEEEASEEEE CASTAFIORE I MISS YOU SO MUCH GIRLFRIEND COME BACK TO ME-

Anyway, the last picture is how I'd imagine Chang and Castafiore's first meeting would go. She as always, acts as sweet and polite and extra af as she always does, let's Chang know that Tintin's talked a lot about him! And then she would bring out some biscuits and pastries she bought as a gift for everyone, and then she and Chang would sit together while eating, and they get along really well, CHANG HAS A WICKED SENSE OF HUMOR THAT CASTAFIORE CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF, (haddock would be completely dumbfounded with how good at talking to Castafiore Chang is, and how anyone could talk to her for so long) but little did haddock know, in their conversations, Castafiore does a whole lot more listening than speaking, especially when Chang starts to tell his back story, and all the things that have happened to him and Tintin. After Chang ends his story, he looks up at her after a while of being lost in his story, and mascara is dripping down her face silently, her mouth is agape, and for a few moments couldn't say anything.

Suddenly she burst out loud, pulled Chang into a hug, and sobs after listening to the horrors this sweet kid has gone through.

In over a few hours she seems to have grown a strong attachment to this kid, she'll probably send a package filled with gifts a few months later, along with a long letter talking about what she's been up to and her wishes that Chang will succeed with anything he's currently busy with, and that he shall take care of himself well.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed the small character appreciation I was able to share for some obscure/underrated characters! And that they will occupy your mind just for a little while. I love these three so much, tintin shaped me as a person, tintin made my childhood, I hope you have a great day.

Who is your least favorite spider-man writer and artist and your most favorite artist and writer of spider-man?

Picking favorites feels surprisingly tricky, not because I can't but because Buscema edges out Romita on art but Conway edges out DeMatteis on writing (by dint of spending thirty straight years + 20 more off and on kicking my ass and how when he falls on his ass it remains fun for me), and these names next to each other are nothing. This is a stupid combination. Really highlights how superhero comics are made by teams and a single dude cannot guarantee quality if they're not vibing with the rest of the carpool. But if I'm picking a team the seventies beats the nineties, and it's sooo disingenuous to try to narrow down one pair of names when that era was Lee/Romita bleeding into Lee/Conway/Romita into Conway/Romita/Kane, also every few issues Mooney dips in to push the Peter having pretty eyelashes agenda and then leaves. Like some of the best art in this era had Kane doing pencils and Romita inking, and I like their combined style more than Romita penciling his own work if we're talking the period where he was still a full time illustrator, but I midkey dislike Kane's pencils inked by everybody else. I looked up who was illustrating 90's Web with Conway on scripts and it turns out the art I like best is a penciler and inker team and the quality takes a dive whenever either of them takes a month off and leaves the other one in a substitute's hands. You know! Team efforts! Anyway here are some iconic combinations in no order cherry picked to cut out overlap and sneak more people in.

It should have been difficult to outdo the preceding run, but writing that was simultaneously nonsensical and insulting, deflated pacing where each issue achieved about as much as a single newspaper strip, a teeth-first art style where every face sports a pained grimace and the meandering composition always scores a D-, and the finishing touch of colors that I can only describe as Averaging Out to Oatmeal...combined to create some of the worst comics I've ever seen. Spencer and I appreciate so many of the same comics and his understanding of what makes them good is so poor that it's almost like receiving a personalized hate letter.

If you're distant from the recent comics scene it's hard to convey how omnipresent this guy is. He's like the comic sans of artists. After having the way he draws women ripped to shreds by social media over a decade ago, Campbell doubled down and has since then drawn hundreds of pinups of identical women in invisible high heels making the exact same face. Singlehandedly a huge factor in how people visualize MJ becoming "skinny carrot top with a pointy chin and freckles". He's proud of this.

Green Arrow #1 (2023)

I promised to yell my feelings about this issue so here! Are! My feelings!!!

Spoilers beneath the cut, obviously. Also, I won’t be including scans since I want to encourage people to buy this comic. It’s already selling so well that it was expanded from a 6 issue miniseries to 12 issues before the first issue even came out - if sales stay strong, maybe we can get an ongoing!

First off, love Sean Izaakse’s art so so so much, I adore his designs for the characters and the way he makes them move. Roy and Connor’s new looks are a little busy but I forgive him because they have such lustrous hair. (Though I still long for a Connor with a curl pattern.)

Starting with Ollie hitting on Dinah while barely conscious? A+. Also, the bit where he realizes he’s on an island again and is like “HOW DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING TO ME???” made me laugh out loud.

I’m not going to lie, on the first double page spread, I’m...not sure why Doomsday is there? Or whose arm is sticking up out of the rubble? Does anyone know?

Why on earth would Dinah call Connor “Hawke?” That line felt really weird to me. Izaakse has been calling him that on Twitter so idk if they’re trying to rebrand him that way or what. Are they making it his new codename? I guess it’s slightly less dumb than “Drake.”

Also, I love the flashback panel of Roy and Connor with their arms around each other, but I am very tired of this thing DC has been doing lately where we see the aftermath of big moments and not the big moment itself. I suppose I shouldn’t complain considering that they nailed the most important reunion in this issue, but I really would have liked to see Connor’s reunions with Roy and Dinah, especially considering that Emiko and Dinah both had basically zero reaction to learning that Roy wasn’t dead. (And in that vein, I’d like to see an actual conversation with Ollie about Connor being ace and not just a flashback panel that’s like “I told my dad, and he was great about it! This will only be addressed annually in Pride issues from now on!” Bonus points for Ollie being very supportive but not 100% getting it and getting a chance to learn.)

JASON SAID THE VAN HAD FINGERPRINTS THAT MATCHED. ROY’S LEAD CAME FROM JASON. Jason and Roy are another set of characters where we were robbed of a good, satisfyingly emotional reunion, but in the single solitary panel we were given of the two of them together, Jason did say he would find Lian, AND HE KEPT HIS PROMISE. Can we please stop discoursing about whether or not he is a good friend to Roy now?

Ollie says that Roy is the greatest marksman in the world and my heart grew three sizes. The last time this came up was 2006ish and it was contested, with the heavy implication that Roy would soon surpass Ollie. I guess he finally made it! I’M SO PROUD. (Although... Shado is the greatest marksperson in the world. I choose to believe that Ollie is using a gendered term deliberately, especially considering what he says to the Manhunter at the end of the issue. Anyway lololol get fucked Merlyn, enjoy being #4.)

“I may have taught Roy and Connor” what did you teach Connor, Ollie? Stop lying.

The flashback panel of Ollie and Dinah fighting back to back is! So! Good! Very Doc Shaner, which is always a compliment.

WHEN I TELL YOU I SCREAMED WHEN LIAN APPEARED

The first time I read this I wasn’t sure if they knew it was Lian, because obviously she’s a lot older than they would have expected. Rereading the panel where the family reacts hits different when you know: the dumbstruck look on Roy’s face! Dinah’s comforting hand on his shoulder! Connor saying “Good form” because he is a PROUD UNCLE! And his little smile on the next page as he wrangles the guy she shot HE THINKS SHE IS SO COOL.

I truly feared that they were going to let her go so Roy’s line, “You threw your first ninja star when you were two years old,” stopped my heart. And then Roy’s speech, besides being heartbreaking, is full of so many great details. I love that he has a sweet tooth and Lian doesn’t. I love the panel of them watching Point Break. I love that they remembered his missing arm in the flashback panel of him mourning Lian.

And on that note, the line “I don’t care how you’re here”...sometimes I get frustrated by DC’s refusal to try to logic their mangled continuity back together  because it feels lazy to me, but here I think it was handled really elegantly. Lian was five and dead and now she’s not; Roy was missing an arm and then he wasn’t and then he was dead and now he’s not. They don’t know why, they’ve accepted that their lives are weird, and they’ve moved on. What’s important to me is that this comic sets out very clearly what is canon and what the characters remember experiencing (short answer: everything, because Roy clearly remembers both pre-Flashpoint and the New 52), because that tells me how to understand their relationships and their choices. I don’t care how they got here either, I just want to know what they’ve lived through.

God, the way he just goes to his knees and gives her all the space in the world. Trusting that she will make the decision that’s right for her, even if it’s one that hurts him. Offering his love on her terms. It’s so perfectly Roy and exactly what Lian needs in that moment.

AND THEN THEY HUG AND I SOBBED FOR TEN MINUTES. Lol @ Izaakse signing this page like “Yeah. You’re welcome.”

AND THEN A FAMILY GROUP HUG. I appreciate the acknowledgement that Lian and Cheshire interacted in Catwoman, because I was so frustrated that nothing came of that.

“They’ll never let our family be together.” This is such a smart move! If you only have 6 (now 12!) issues to bring back Ollie AND Lian AND Connor AND Mia AND (I hope) bring Cissie into the fold for the first time, giving all of the various deaths/disappearances/continuity hiccups one unified source is a great way to fit them all into one story.

And then: DYSTOPIAN OLLIE!!! Dystopian Ollie is always a good move! Dystopian Ollie wants you to use gender neutral threats! Dystopian Ollie has a chainsaw arrow! I love Dystopian Ollie.

Spontaneous thoughts I have on Jay's opinion with laughter. No serious spoilers are in this post!

Well, number one, he's an entertainer at heart. (If being a game show host in season 4 is anything to go by.) He loves pulling people along for the ride! Laugh for a while, have a distraction, because it's important to smile every now and then.

That being said, Jay does a lot of laughing himself. He's been told his laugh is sporadic, constantly changing, and utterly infectious. Knowing this, he uses his own mirth to open the opportunity for others to laugh along too. It's a love language in a way, even if he acts like a clown. He doesn't mind putting himself in embarrassing situations if it'll cheer someone up!

And number two, he loves cheering people up. It's so satisfying to see someone hold in their laughter and, finally, let it EXPLODE out! He swears he can see the tension roll off them, getting rid of some of the edge.

He loves nothing more than listening to people's happiness, seeing their smiles. He's cataloged everyone's laugh in his head. Kai has a hearty gut laugh that forces out air, Zane's has a constant low chuckle sound to it, Cole doesn't do it nearly enough but he's hiding this loud cackle, Lloyd's has changed over the years but it's always been giggly, he swears that Nya has hiccups, and so on.

Jay gets in very giggly and affectionate moods. Naturally, he's a little shit too. Combine these two together and you get a tickle monster gremlin on the loose. Sometimes it's obvious, and sometimes it's not. If all else fails then he will resort to devious methods.

He's not sorry at all for whatever, quote on quote, "damage" he causes when in this moods. He's stumbled on Kai being grumpy after losing too many times at a videogame and immediately turned that frown upside-down. Zane's not doing anything but reading, but Jay is still going to torment him by sneaking up behind him and skittering his neck before ducking away, making sure Zane goes back to reading... and then tickling him again!! Cole's trying to do push ups? No! Now Jay's sitting on his back and tickling him before he can do the next push up! Lloyd won't stop fussing and can't get out of an anxious loop, but Jay's got just the remedy for that. Introducing, The Tickle Monster! While Nya... something more along the lines of poking her when she tries to reach for a screwdriver.

Jay's proud to say he's lightening the hollow look in their eyes, easing the burdening even just for a few minutes. He'd do it all over again, whatever it takes to see them happy.

To his surprise, the team feels the same way about him. Which, uh, no guys! He went to clown college, he's got this handled. He doesn't have any problems laughing anyways... it's not like he needs it... right?

WRONG! (And the team want revenge for all his antics too, so win-win.)

Jay's been a complainer, always has been, it adds to his humor. However, it's hard to tell what he's truly feeling. He says what he feels sarcastically or uses jokes to divert attention, and anyone can try to use context clues to piece together the truth, but he doesn't say much about it in an honest manner. He says it like everyone should brush it off, it's not a concern, there are more important things at stake. He tries to smile to prove them wrong, no matter how exhausted he is. He'll be the butt-end of a joke one more time.

Not one more time after that and the team has had enough.

Jay needs a pick-me-up, everyone needs to get silly in some way. Zane turns on his funny switch and gets ready to blast meme songs, it's game-time. Cole will dance, even if he dropped out of performing arts school, and show all the stupid moves and purposefully trip up just to see a smile. Kai goes for dramatics, the classics, bumping into things and gasping with mock-offense and poorly done impersonations. Lloyd knows how to pull a good harmless prank too, which he knows Jay can always respect. Nya whips out some priceless facial expressions, all the silly faces a parent would use on a crying baby.

And it's a bonding activity for the team too, to see a side of each other they don't get to see very often. It's refreshing. (They realize too how Jay has placed this role on himself, and how they do expect that of him as well. All the more reason to get silly for a change!)

You know what? It works too! Jay smiles, albeit not wide enough for the silliness to stop. He watches Kai deliberately open a clearly pranked can, curtesy of Lloyd, and shrieks when fake snakes fly into his face. Cole walks in moments later to voice his "concern" for the noise, and Zane walks in at the same time and SLAM! They bump right into each other and go tumbling to the floor, but not without Zane wobbling around with cartoon slip effects before face-planting into the floor. One after another, Lloyd pops out of his hiding place giggling at the expense of his team. But he doesn't see Nya sneakily approaching from behind, Lloyd wipes a tear in time for Nya, comically timing, to shove a snake puppet in his face with a loud HISSSSSS. Lloyd practically see's the First Spinjitzu Master and collapses to the ground with a scream, landing on top of Kai in the process. Nya stands there, quiet, before looking at Jay with a stupid smug smirk, waving a jazz hand and her snake accomplice on the other.

"Tada." She says simply.

Jay was already in tears by the time Zane fell, and he's joined everyone on the floor without being pranked or anything. He's not just laughing, he's howling and pounding the ground with his fist. He's kicking his legs and screaming, hugging his arms to his stomach and he laughs and laughs. He tries to say something, anything, but all his efforts trail off as wheezes.

It's music to everyone's ears. Far too long has Jay been quiet with his half-smiles and small chuckles. Seeing Jay try to grasp his laughter and fail all over again was worth all the effort they planned. He was happy again.

There you are, is what their fond expressions say, we missed you.

Even if it's an embarrassing period of time, Jay didn't stop laughing all throughout the day. At dinner, he snorted into his food and had a coughing fit. He still didn't stop laughing after that either. Sensei Wu, ever so oblivious to his students, didn't understand why but knew it was good to see Jay laughing again.

But sometimes, even those jokes may not work. Of course, Jay can be stubborn at times. Thinking what good reason does he have to laugh right now? He's annoying, everyone doesn't hesitate to say it, and that joke is hitting too close to home.

So when that doesn't work, they too result to devious methods. Jay was never immune to his own attacks either.

Kai practically tackles him in training, starting a tickle fight just because one curl on Jay's head was too curly. Cole can pick him up effortlessly and noogie his head and tickle anywhere else while he's at it, nothing Jay can do about it except giggle and kick his legs. Zane pretends he is none of the wiser when giving Jay a massage, he's too tense near his lower back... if his hands wander to his sides then they must be worked on, stay still Jay! Nya's being distracting as Jay struggles to work on repairs. They're a week ahead of schedule Jay, relax for a change. If he doesn't put down that damn wrench then Nya is going to poke under his arm again. Lloyd's pranks consist of feathers, lots and lots of feathers, and hey! If you can't beat them, join them! What else are feathers good for besides fluttering them up and down Jay's neck and ears?

Jay's never quite laughed so much in his life, he thinks, which is an accomplishment. He's immensely grateful his team is willing to pull him from dark places, that they care enough to do so. Even when all is said and done, they pull him close and wrap him up in affectionate words too.

Yeah, Jay loves laughter.

His team loves Jay's laughter too.

But the best part is when they laugh together. That may truly be Jay's favorite part.

Okuyasu Nijimura: pure bisexual

Yea he’s bi. Gay for Josuke but bi still. He will za hando and za finger probably anyone. The one and only true bisexual.

Koichi, Kira and Yukako: extremely straight

Like have you seen their vibes they’re straight as hell. As for Kira I raise: he literally simps for the Mona Lisa and collects female hands don’t tell me there’s repressed homosexuality here my man is so unhinged if he was gay he would make himself a realistic dildo collection by collecting mumified penises. Kira is STRAIGHT.

Kishibe Rohan: aromantic pansexual

Rohan fucks SEVERELY. At least in theory because we know he got no game  he’s 10000% a virgin. Like. Every gender gets our man going in bed but he’s got 0 action bcs have you seen him he might be extremely hot but he’s so damn awkward. His vibes are all over the place. He would probably eat one of your toenails for “art and accuracy”. Hence no one wants to get within a 20-foot radius of Rohan Kishibe. I’d let him hit tho. Then he’ll finally know what sex is like.

Aromantic. Got no time for all that “romance” bs. Literally cringes watching romcoms and seeing couples in the street. People may think it’s because he’s jaleous (no game, remember?) but really he’s just grossed out.

Giorno Giovana: aro-ace king

Our King is declared ARO/ACE. Giorno knows what sex is but doesn’t fuck. He got more important things to deal with, like idk running the fucking italian mafia. His one true love is justice and equality makes him hard. He’s too pure for all of you wretched souls out there. He’d be happy to bromance you though.

Bruno Bucciarati: bi

My sweet prince is also cursed with bisexuality but contrary to other bis such as Polnareff he FUCKS. His tongue game is too insane for him to get no bitches I’m sorry (when did this become a “who has game” tierlist-). Anyways yes Certified Freak Bruno likes everyone his heart and legs are open for all. I don’t feel like he would have a preference for a particular gender but feel free to argue with me in the comments. I wish I had more to write about my blorbo but. Well. No thoughts head empty rn.

Leone Abbacchio: omni

Our man is a proud omnisexual/omniromantic! Plus the flag fits his aesthetic very well so slay king for having the sexuality that goes with your vibe. Honestly yes this label fits. He’s omni. He’s too dead inside to care about gender but keeps it in the back of his mind. 

Married to Bruno (canon doesn’t exist sorry) and will def gossip about other ppl with his husband.

Guido Mista: female-leaning bisexual

Tbh Mista doesn’t seem to be the type of person to bother with labels. He just fucks. So here have bisexuality. He would be more into women because of his tendency to bromance every male he encouters but he wouldn’t pass up the opportunity to explore the matters of the flesh with other guys. Slay.

Panacotta Fugo: aro-ace

Our favourite calm and collected guyTM is certified aroace! I have absolutely NO DOUBTS. HE IS AROACE. (sex-repulsed also bcs well trauma and he also legit thinks it’s a disgusting waste of time). May he and Giogio create the perfect aroace mafioso team. Cleanse Italy from all of the wretched and perverted souls like Diavolo and Bucciarati children, gooo.

Narancia Ghirga: polyamorous

I have murdered my brain and soul trying to find a queer orientation for our soft bean Narancia and tbh only polyamorous seems to fit. He want to share the love yk. About his gender preferences? I gave up. I simply cannot concieve Narancia being in a relationship/having sex. No. Too young. Too pure. What do you mean he’s 17 hence older than Fugo/Giorno as well as only two years younger than me? Nope. He’s 12. I don’t give a shit. I will not think about Narancia’s private business ever. He’s just poly take it or leave it.

Diavolo/Doppio: pan

Male Thot Enemy of the State Diavolo and Unhinged Pure Bean Doppio are both PAN! Difference being Diavolo fucks while Doppio gets fucked. Diavolo my blorbo is kind of Dio-like in his attraction. Because he’s a hot dilf he always gets what he wants. Doppio would be more reserved tbh.

Many pansexuals out there and these two are going on the team. Melone in a unhinged way specifically. Risotto wouln’t necessarly label himself, he’d probably be down for everything. 6. Work I’m most proud of (and why): 

So I have two fics I want to shout out for this. First is Do You Think The Tides Know, which is a super personal concept to me and one I’ve been wanting to explore for a while. It’s unlike anything I’ve ever written before, and I’m not sure if I’ve ever read anything quite like it -- where from the beginning it’s clear that the main character won’t get the guy, where the endgame pairing doesn’t involve our POV character, where no matter what we’re rooting for we know it involves heartbreak. It’s complicated and it’s messy and it’s imperfect and it’s painful and I think that’s important, you know? That’s real. That’s life. And that’s okay. 

I’m also really proud of my Reverse Bang fic, they say looks can kill (and i might try), which just posted this week. I’ve always been intimidated by worldbuilding, but the art and prompt from @haztobegood were just... so vivid and interesting and exciting, and I could feel the world begging to be explored. I was initially afraid I wouldn’t be able to do it justice and realize the ideas the way I wanted, but I’m so glad I did it anyways. I don’t think I did a perfect job, there are still gaps that I’m aware of as the person who created them, but I also think that overall I did a damn good job! Go me!  

7. Work I’m least proud of (and why): 

I’m also going to mention two here. First is my Emelan fic for Troped: Chapters -- I had some fun with the concepts but I just wasn’t feeling the romance that was the center of the prompts, and I wasn’t sure how to make everything play out effectively. Second is my Camp Half-Blood AU for Astrofest -- I had a much bigger, grander, more complex idea mapped out based on all the different positive and negative meanings of the card, but I just bit off more than I could chew in terms of time and energy, so the fic I wrote instead was a much simpler spur-of-the-moment idea. It’s a fine story, I don’t dislike it, but it wasn’t what I’d wanted to write initially. Still, I’m glad it nudged me to start exploring that ‘verse -- I wrote a PJO fic a month or two later and I’d like to write more! I might also revisit the more complex idea someday, I still think that it would be a super cool story! 

8. Share or describe a favorite review you received: 

I received a ton of wonderful comments and tags, but I think some of my favourites were the appreciation for the check ins and conversations around kink in fics like it's always me that ends up getting wet. We love boundaries and consent!!! Having that level of trust with your partner is what most interests me about kink, so it felt really validating and rewarding to see that reflected and appreciated. 

9. A time when writing was really, really hard: 

Looking at my writing tracker, I only wrote like... 800 words in March, so I guess numerically you could say that was hard, since I didn’t do it. 

In the other direction, in August and September I published TEN fics (totaling about 46k words), so that was. a lot of writing. why did I do this. I’m so proud but also kind of concerned. 

10. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you:

Is it too unspecific to say “all of the smut”? Like wow, usually I don’t really write smut, but this year I was apparently VERY INSPIRED. And I kept writing such huge word counts in one go, wow. 

11. A favorite excerpt of your writing:

Oh man, it’s always hard to pick just one piece (especially without it getting ridiculously long), but let’s go with this snippet from Do You Think The Tides Know, as Zayn says goodbye to Louis at the end of the summer:

Zayn pulls Louis into a tight hug, trying to memorize the feeling of his body, the sound of his heartbeat, the smell of his hair.

“Don’t be a stranger, yeah?” he says, trying to keep the catch in his throat from showing in his voice. “I know we don’t usually talk that much outside the summer, but… you have my number, if you ever, like, have questions or just… if you ever need anything. Call me.”

Louis chuckles. “I know,” he says. “You’ve always got my back. Thanks, man. You’re a great friend.”

Zayn squeezes his eyes shut for a moment, then forces them back open. “Good,” he says, stepping back. “And… good luck.”

A bright smile dawns across Louis’ face. Zayn wishes it was for him, wishes he could make Louis look like that. But failing that, he hopes that the person who does make Louis smile like that – he hopes he never stops.

12. How did you grow as a writer this year:

This is kind of unspecific, but I think just... being more willing to try things that are unfamiliar and step outside of my usual comfort zone. That willingness feels like growth, and doing that creates growth. 

13. How do you hope to grow next year:

Part of me wants to say writing self-motivated fics, stories I tell just because I want to and without outside boxes I have to fit into or people holding me accountable. But maybe the real growth would be acknowledging that those outside influences and motivations are valid, and if they work for me, that’s not such a bad thing. 

14. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc): 

gotta be @alwaysxlarrie. I can always count on lauren to hype me up or help me brainstorm or get my creative gears turning or tell me if a sentence or moodboard looks weird or celebrate my accomplishments. and I love returning the favor! mutual brain furbies for life -- you the best! 

15. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: 

The “weird holiday traditions” in The Streetlights Are All Saying Your Name are both real traditions that my family had when I was growing up

I work in a pet store, and so for All Ewe Need Is Lamb, I used information and products and even photos from my work 

As I mentioned before, Do You Think The Tides Know is based on a really personal experience -- it’s not like 100% true to life, but the idea of dating someone while in love with someone else, and knowing that the relationship had an end date, but celebrating the happiness and fun and learning in the meantime -- that was real to me, and super meaningful. So grateful for everyone else who has connected to the fic as well!

And this is kind of the inverse and a slightly more spicy one, so look away if you don’t want to know, but. Writing for the @1dwatersportsficfest ultimately led to me telling my fiancée that I was into that. So. I guess that’s my writing showing up in my real life!

16. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers: 

If you’re afraid of doing something because it feels out of your comfort zone or what you’re used to doing -- that’s where the growth is. Find people who encourage you to do it anyways, who make you feel excited to go there, who celebrate your achievements. It’s so much less scary with friends, and you’ll probably surprise yourself with how much you’re capable of.  

17. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year: 

With the publication of my fic for the 1D Reverse Bang this week, I am officially finished all my current projects! Which isn’t to say I don’t have forgotten half-finished projects, but I don’t have anything I’m actively working on at the moment. It’s exciting and terrifying at the same time. What will I daydream about on the bus now???

I’m feeling called back to my Soft Established Relationship Vax’ilmore Fluff Series, so might write a couple of those next (then again, I said I’d do that last year, and that lasted about 8 days so. we’ll see). I’m also eyeing up some of the fests for this coming year (I need external motivation, it’s a problem) and @1dtourdeficfest @faithinthefutureficfest @1dastroficfest are all on my list of contenders.

THE HISTORY OF CASSIAN

you may sit there and ask, "dyllan, how DID you come up with a perfect and flawless design like cassian's?"

well dear viewer... today you shall learn!!

so he actually has two kinda origins, one much more like the cass we know today, so on with it!!

we start out with the origin of cassian as a name in the beautiful land of skyrim

he was my self insert i made that i didn't end really being happy with and kinda left behind BUT i did reuse his name for our cassian of today so he's important to mention!!

fun fact!! cassian comes from the fact that it sound like the word caspian, as as my name is dyllan, meaning son of the sea, i thought it'd be fun to kinda name my s/i after a sea

fun fact 2!! i did write a couple cassian/cicero fics that are still up on my blog, if you search back enough you'll find em hehe

now we more so move on to the proto design and personality in cookie run ovenbreak!!

this was my first self insert for the game, named vanilla cream cookie, he was a patisserie, but as you can see from the pose and design on the right, his design was way to similar to herb cookie in my eyes (i did use him as a drawing ref) so i ended up changing his deisng fairly quickly, i only have 3 artworks of him in this stage

fun fact 3!! the image on the left could very well be considered like the ancient ancestor of modern cassian since that was the first image i drew of vanilla cream!!

ahh my lovely pride and joy, cream horn cookie!!

the image on the far left was the first kinda sketch i made of him, instead of basing him off just vanilla cream in general i made him after my fav dessert type pastry, cream horns!!

he had a sleepy tired and sheep motif, i'm still so proud of how i made the shape of the cream horn into like an actual horn, fitting in with his sheep look as well!!

you can really see how his hair kinda evolved into cass's emo hair!!!

ahh... here's where i got into obey me!!

this was the first design idea i had for an mc/self insert, so this was where i stole the name from myself to make a new character with!! i have a few drawing of him one with beel, but i just didn't vibe with his design all that well and his bangs and overall hairstyle gave me trouble

now here's some early cassian design!! this was when i forgo-ed the pink hair and green eyes and basically just made a human cream horn cookie since i love his design so much

actually while searching for pictures i completely forgot i had cass's ahoge as a heart shape for a while!!

the pic on the right was after the golden newt syrup incident lol

and that leads us to cassian of the modern day!! he's finally smiling which is so funny, does this represent my mental health getting better and becoming more confident?? mayhaps in some way, but i'm really happy with him as a design, character, etc

Though at first surprised by @thebananwithaplan ‘s instinctual reaction, Pico did seem to get it, with a chuckle and a reassuring nod following the banana’s sheepish apology. He couldn’t help but be glad that he wasn’t on whichever game show the guy hosted, because god only knew the amount of censoring or sudden commercial breaks they’d have to do with how often a curse slipped without care. “ Yeah, it’s cool, man. It’s disorientin’ though, all th’ new faces. Been seein’ Nene n’ Darnell around more lately, that’s dope. ”

Had the growth taken some getting used to? Of course it had, people weren’t drawing the flash portal’s “mascots” with a mouse in shitty drawing programs from sketchy websites anymore, and they certainly weren’t animating them in Flash anymore. Not as commonly, anyways. Today is the age of flashy tablets, and entirely bypassing the ‘just getting started’ age of scribbled hands and circle tool heads. Pico couldn’t complain though, just meant content of him and his fellow icons at a higher quality.

“ Course I got good on th’ mic, B! I’m more than my guns these days, ya know? Everybody’s been gettin’ into th’ music game lately, s’ pretty wild. ” He’d always had an interest, really. He’d even wanted to be a DJ when he was younger, either that or something with computers. Now he’s neither, but that wasn’t important right now.

Honestly, it's for the best. Sorry, Pico, but he really can't afford to lose the SMART Technologies sponsorship. DB promises there's still ways you could win prizes without having to set foot in the studio, though!

. "Really? That's nice! At least you still have some friends that got developed with you along the way. I didn't even really had a 'universe' to be in, so to speak. Like, there were other fellow dancing fruits in similar gifs, but none who I'd call an actual friend. Not even mutuals. We just... co-existed, I guess...."

It truly were different times. The Dancing Banana couldn't even talk, let alone have much of a thought in the world outside of dancing; the most 'communication' he could do then was all through his body language, whether it was by his signature dances or by waving his pompoms around. (Depended whether he was in his pixelated or animated 2d glory) of course. Maybe sometimes also holding up signs that had questionable phrases on them.

The upgrade of these art and animation programs sure helped with his update to his current design. But good lord were many 3D attempts steering too close to uncanny valley - it's only the Shovel Team that finally got his look close to that of a likable funny toon character.

A character that still had some questionable morals lingering close to 'dangerous' territory by others to the point of having 'WANTED' posters, that also had a school theme involved in their lives at one point, and who has gained a greater taste and talent for music. Sounds familiar?

Pokemon Scarlet Playthrough part 13: Clive reveals his true identity (who could have guessed), classes and hanging with teachers, Penny stole that money (called it) [Starfall Street Complete]

So I walk up to the school and I see "Clive" at the gate. Clavell finally admits that it was him who was Clive all along. What a real shocker, who could have guessed. Then he tries to claim to be the Big Boss as well, which he obviously is not and battles me.

To be honest I didn't expect to battle him, so that caught me off guard. He has a full team and they are level 60. Looks like I'm on level again! I still win of course, but he did knock out one of my Pokemon due to a miscalculation on my part.

Me who sees Abomasnow, ah yes, grass is weak to flying, and ice is weak to fighting, therefore it's a great idea to send out my Flamigo. I completely forgot to account for flying being weak to ice. *Embarrassed laughter*

Well Clavell admits that he isn't the Big Boss (duh) but he's now convinced I can handle a fight with Penny. He bows to me, and I'm like wow, gotta make him proud now.

I will say that I thought the entrance was a weird place to have a battle, what with all the people in the area and all. Guess it's against the rules to do that because Tyme showed up and yelled at Clavell. Saying his excuses stink like "a Skuntank's behind" I love it when people use metaphor's with Pokemon. Just some good worldbuilding.

So yeah I really like Clavell character, he's a delight. And to think I thought he's be a bad guy after watching the trailers. He's just a goofy old man.

I'm going to do the rest of the classes next, interact with teachers, and then I'm going to the schoolyard to fight Penny. But that's tomorrow, I'm going to bed.

Art 6: Hassel talks about Marks and Ribbons. Apparently I can get the Best Friends Ribbon at Cascarrafa, I think that was where the water gym was. Checking the map... yes! It's the water gym city.

Art Final: I got medium candies this time, nice!

Battle Studies 6: Learning about link battles, not much to say.

Battle Studies final: Easy but I lost a point for choosing "auto fights" instead of "auto battles" a very arbitrary difference.

Biology 6: Jacq talks about Pokemon forms. He brings up that Phone Rotoms are special and can't possess other technology, this fuels my headcannon about Rotoms and how these Rotom are specifically breed for this purpose. He got cut off by the bell when trying to talk about regional forms, seems like something a bit too important to cut off if you ask me.

Biology final: Easy. Anyway I like the questions Jacq puts on the ends of his tests, I don't know why the Clavell is against them. It's not like I haven't seen that sort of thing irl. Like as long as it doesn't affect the grades and it's an optional question, and also not inappropriate to ask, it should be fine.

Home Ec 6: He talks about customization pretty much, including Rotom Phones. It's fun that he himself doesn't know where to get phone cases so a student says where to get them. I really liked his speech at the end, it was very sweet.

Home Ec Final: Easy. Sort of off topic, but on topic, I like to imagine Saguaro having a Patrick Warburton like voice.

Languages 6: One last lesson in listening to Pikachu I must be honest in that I found guessing it's emotion based off its sounds very difficult. I may have sound on but that doesn't mean I pay attention to what cries happen when, besides I don't even have my own Pikachu to learn its cries from. Well I do have one but I don't use it.

Languages Final: Well I got one of the Pikachu cries wrong for the same reason I listed above. Also I think it's weird that one his question's is just asking what his name is, like what kind of test question is that?!

Math 6: Tyme explains STAB moves. Its very basic, idk why she didn't explain that early. I mean I already know it but if you asked me STAB should come before moves that increase stats in battle.

Math final: I had to redo the test because I don't remember how much certain things multiply.

History 6: So Tera Orbs have something to do with Area Zero. So Tera Pokemon were first discovered in Area Zero, but why is it now a common occurrence outside of Area Zero? Apparently only just 10 years ago (that's not long at all!), Sada figured out the Tera thing and she made Tera Orbs. But this still doesn't explain the Tera Pokemon in the wild outside Area Zero. Also Clavell was on her team, I suppose that's how they know each other?

History Final: Easy, but I am paying very close attention in this class, so no wonder it was easy. Unlike other tests where I usually already had the knowledge being asked about.

Oh and now I've passed everything I also get some large candies, cool!

Now it's time to talk to the teachers again!...But first I decided to use my additional candies to evolve some Pokemon for the Pokedex. I then tried a bit of grinding to level up a few more. I only bring this up because I found another shiny, and I actually caught it this time! So now I have a shiny Capsakid.

I also used a Thunderstone to evolve the free flying Pikachu. I bring this up because I'm happy I was was allowed to evolve it, I like Raichu more than Pikachu and I'm sick of all the special Pikachu that can't be evolved.

Talking to Raifort now! She conforms that the four Pokemon of ruin are real, which was quite clear as a player. She says she found it in a newspaper "of all places" newspapers are a great way to find info like that when researching. So the stakes, as I correctly figured out, are what is sealing the Pokemon. There are eight stakes for each in the areas "surrounding the shrine" not sure how true that is, I swear I've found yellow stakes all over the place.

Raifort has marked the spots where the shrines are on my map, I already found two on my own but I guess this can tell me where the other two are. It's too bad Raifort can't go adventuring with me, but I will say that could work as a potential fanfic, freeing the Pokemon from the shrines with your history teacher.

So I knew about the Groundblight Shrine and the Grasswither Shrine. But not the Icerend Shrine or the Firescourge Shrine. I wonder if I free the shrine Pokemon if I get more story with Raifort. I'm really eager to see what's hiding in those shrines. One thought that came to mind is that maybe instead of all those Yellow stakes maybe they were green and yellow but just a similar color? Would explain how I found so many yellow.

Talking to Hassel again. He tells off someone in his family for trying to drags him away from what he's passionate about. Also he implies that she may have been lying about his father's health to get him to come back to the family. Anyway he gave me 50 Dragon Tera shards! So if I wanted to I could change the Tera of one of my Pokemon to dragon if I wish. I wonder what rewards I get for getting to the end of the storyline with other teachers.

Considering Raifort still has the "!" but nothing happens when I talk to her I think that means that I indeed need to figure out what lies behind the gates to complete her storyline.

So Salvatore is keeping the Pawmi, just as I figured would happen. He's seems to have a preference towards electric Pokemon what with having a Pikachu and also a Raichu pin. Now he also has a Pawmi. Anyway I suppose the Pawmi might not be deaf or mute, per say, but more like selectively mute, like Red. He gave me a Galarian Meowth, a pretty cool prize, ngl.

Talking to Miriam now. She passed her exam! Good for her. She also gave me 10 Max Revives, nothing too exciting, but I'll take it.

Talking to Saguaro now. Apprently the sweet condiment he wanted is the sweet herba mystica. He asks me to share some if I ever found any. Considering the fact that you can only get the herba mystica in area zero I guess that means I need to wait a bit more I can finish his story line.

Talking to Dendra now. She's taking a break from sandwich making. But her goal is to payback Miriam. Oh yeah, I'm 100% to ship them lol. She gave me a bunch of protein.

I meant to talk to Tyme who was in the courtyard next but even though it was starting to look bright out it started the continuation of the Starfall story anyway. So yeah I guess I'm going to do that now.

So where to begin... of course I was right that Penny was both Cass and the Big Boss. She finally revealed herself and wanted to fight me as the Big Boss of Team Star. I wasn't sure what she would have been given her iconic Eevee backpack my best guess was that her team would be all Eeveelutions. Looks like I was correct! The fight went pretty easy.

But I must say! Penny's theme is an absolute banger! I gotta listen to it some more some time it is so good!

Clavall reveals his true identity to Penny and she is actually surprised. Penny are you face blind or something? It was obvious who Clive was. And he asked the question that I've been asking for a long time. Why Operation Starfall? If you're the Big Boss why didn't you just tell them to diband?

Well as it turned out she did tell them to stop, all the way back after the incident. They just choose not to listen to her and are surprised when she didn't show up again. So she thought if she told them now to stop, they would continue to not listen because technically she's not allowed to order them. Fair enough.

The incident in question. From the sounds of it they rolled up in their wild outfits and giant cars and basically threatened their bullies. The bullies were scared and told everybody about how scary Team Star was and dropped out of school to avoid them. So everyone thinks that Team Star is up to no good, hence the rumors.

The moment the Penny meet her Team Star friends face to face was really sweet. Really liked that bit where they all said Hasta la Vistar. I wonder who in the group came up with that catchphrase.

I'm glad those Team Star bases will go to good use. And that the Team Star raids will probably be seen as a fun challenge for trainers to take on. Hope they'll still hand out a commemorative badge to those who win, that'll be cool.

And my theory that Penny stole that money was correct! There was already that mention of hackers stealing LP from league servers, and what with Penny being a hacker and all... So yeah Penny is a thief! Be gay do crimes?

I haven't gotten Penny on the Team yet nor have a gotten a "Starfall Street Complete" message. So I'm guessing something else needs to happen? Not sure what though. But I am going to finally talk to Tyme again.

Now talking to Tyme. Ok so her stalker situation is now dealt with. A girl who's a fan of Tyme's time as a gym leader. Tyme said her sister now runs the gym. I thought the similarities between Tyme and Ryme were just a coincidence... but maybe not. She also gave me a bunch of Tera Rock shards.

So I went outside and there was Penny! So that was how the story continued. She now owes me one, she says, and this will be cashed in later to break into Area Zero.

I don't think I said this earlier but I figured Penny would be hired for cyber security by the League. Don't like someone hacking you? Try hiring them to stop others from hacking you. So it seems that that is indeed what happened.

Also apparently the six of them came up with the Team Star catchphrase together.

Anyway that'll be all for this post, next post I'm going to take on the Pokemon League. I'm going to see if I can find those two other gates now that I know where they should be. Hasta la vistar!

More on Hollow Knight

Hiii!!! So I’m here to talk about my playthrough again hehehe.

And speaking of nails, I’ve upgraded my to the coiled nail and I’ve gotten another pale ore from the grubfather. Other Pale ores lay beyond nosk and the colosseum of fools, and I still have to try the second trial of those. But btw i’ve beat the first one on my first try and i’m so proud of myself!!! I don’t consider myself to be a great gamer (i have fun nonetheless), so making it through that was a boost hehe. I am also writing this posts just after defeating the collector just on my second try and obtaining the marks for the remaining grubs which, guess what, were only 3!!! I got 2 already since they were in places I’ve already been in, but the last one is somewhere in the queens gardens, which I haven’t finished exploring yet. I also bought all the maps (see bellow for a sleeping Corny behind lovely Iselda), opened all the stag stations and went to the stag nest. And look at my vessels!!! I’m gaming, guys! I am close to collecting 400 essence, I’ve gotten the first three flames for my grimmchild, and I defeated the Brooding Mawlek (which I expected money for, but well, nothing is perfect) as well as the Pale Luker.

Remember how I had 15 charms more to collect on the last post? Now there’s only 5 to go! I’m trying to remember which ones I’ve gotten, and I recall Sharp Shadow, Heavy Blow, Quick Slash, obviously de Grimmchild and de Nailmaster as I mentioned, probably Shape of Unn was after the post as well... and the Spore Shroom thingy... oh, and Joni’s Blessing! She seems so nice. A nice little spirit.  I know I’m missing the one found in the hive, but I was having a hard time there lol. Not so much bc of the boss itself, but everytime I died and had to go back I could feel my hair going grey. And, to be fair, there’s not that many screens between the bench and the boss, but the enemies there... I just find them to be a pain, really. And like, I take them out carefully and with a lot of patience (which is not rare from me), but the amount of time this took me made it easy for me to grow tired and deciding to try later.  Anyways. I also got the charm with the little hatchlings. THEY’RE MINIME’S!!!!!!! They’re so cuuute (see bellow) 🥺🥺🥺. So cute. They have little wings, like little fairies. Great game. Also, if you’re wondering why I have so much geo in the screenshot, well... I have been getting the unbreakable charms from Divine [tears] [sweat] [blood]. Only the greedy one is left but I am not giving it to her until I get the money lmao.  Tbh, I don’t remember what’s the other charm that I got in this past few weeks rn. But well, it’s not that important I just wanted to name them lmao. Also i got scammed by the bank women but I already got to juggle hair around hehehe that was fun. I still haven’t woken up the other two dreamers left (Teacher, Watcher), despite the fact that I’ve been around and there’s only one boss fight between me and each of them. I just haven’t been feeling bosses that much lately, I’ve been moreso exploring and fiding things. Though Idk how much more is there left to find without a boss blocking me but oh well, that’s life, isnt it.  So, I think that’s it for now? I hope you’re all doing great! Sooo once again recently I have been browsing various queer-centric merchandise on etsy and the like, and (as always) been disappointed at the quantity/quality of aspec-focused stuff. Which also ties in to an overall (IMO) egregious lack of aspec... memey stuff?? and general place in, like, actual community everyday conversation, outside of painfully repetitive and boring identity glossaries.

And. It's difficult. It really feels so difficult, sometimes. To talk about being aspec without

a) being sex-negative in really gross, harmful ways (that just as often harm other aspecs btw)

b) being like... super self-deprecating in a way that I feel also harms aspecs and reinforces the idea of us as losers and failures in a kind of 'are they laughing at us or with us' kind of way.

One way is to lean into the silly quirky 'food is better than sex' kind of thing, and also puns. The puns I like but a really shitty and awful part of myself deep down sometimes finds the food stuff actually kind of. cringey...? Which is stupid and I hate it but once again I feel myself being made fun of by allos and also it's just. kind of shallow and a one-note joke that has been overdone at this point (due to lack of other options) for me personally

The other big way I've seen is to lean into the whole confident rejection schtick. Big 'Nope' word art and the like. And that's fine but it often feels a bit too... misanthropic? for me. I like people!!!!! Or it's very female-focused and feeds too much into that whole ideals of 'women who let men touch them are Tainted' and/or 'women deserve better than men' which I. hate.

so I've been wondering a lot if what I'm wanting - memey/funny aspec-focused stuff that actually feels authentic and at least some tiny amount of original - is even possible?

So far my ideas are. a) make it casual/nonclinical by going so fucking dorky that it wraps around in the other direction. like idk a shirt that says 'Asexuality: the lack of sexual attraction to people of all genders. Hope that helps guys!!! Subscribe for more cool asexuality facts :)' I think if I saw that shirt I'd slightly suspect I was being made fun of but would vibe so hard I'd still like it unironically lmfao

Softening the rejection stuff also could be fun. Like 'I love every person in the world!! (as a friend <3)' or something. more eloquent lol

And just, in general non-sequiturs. It bugs me so inordinately when I see those kinds of posts or whatever that are like 'I'm tired, I'm gay, and I don't pay taxes' (theoretical example) and like, you could just as well have put 'ace' or 'aro' in there!!!!!! But nobody ever things to do that with us :( as always my plan is to make really cool things but only for ace and aro so we can get to be the ones with things for once hahaha but unfortunately I do not know how to make cool things. Anyway the whole idea here is to write things that make people on reddit go 'uhh, why did you feel the need to mention that you don't date, here...?'

And to cap this off I guess I should affirm that yeah, the self-deprecatory stuff CAN be done well... with a very very VERY precise hand. By which I mean that I was permanently psychologically online-ified by ace discourse and have the sensitivity of an earthquake detector to non-obvious slights against aspecs' importance or worth as human beings. But self-deprecating humour is just kind of our generation's style, so. There's some level of 'yeah I like anime and don't date B)' that is JUST the right balance of 'this is not at all what society says you should be proud of' and 'but fuck it society sucks lmfao I love freaks'.

IN CONCLUSION more aspecs should have my exact same sense of humour but actually good at art. or writing text posts. Or literally anything other than complaining on unpopular tumblrs. no actually we need them too so I can follow you and feel faintly not alone occasionally when our opinions happen to line up. Your honour I rest my case.

Long time no ramble, huh

I'm back by unpopular demand and with exactly zero brainpower

And hell, if anyone would have told me how much petty shit you have to do when creating a card game I probably don't try to do that for class

Okay, that's a lie, I absolutely would have

But still

My entire weekend is going to be an unbalanced and insane amounts of sprite making (for my partner's game), card art creation for my own game, art for an unrelated class and studying like crazy for the tests next week

It doesn't sound that bad until you realize I have, only for myself, over sixty images to create

Realistically, not doing all of them this weekend

But you can bet your ass I will try anyway, while trying to understand the difference between different operating system generations, AI search tech and other stuff like that

I'm creating my own hell, as usual

And most likely for nothing, as the unrelated project is to be submitted to teachers who don't seem to grasp the concept of a manual

Or coding for that matter

But that aside, it's actually the chillest semester I've had so far

Lots of projects, few tests, only one 8am class

I know hell is coming but I'm enjoying the peace while it lasts

In other news, I've upgraded into a DM. So far I've had two players:

My partner, chronic minmaxer, troll of the century, theater kid of gay proportions, smartest and dumbest player at the exact same second, with a knack for evil characters and one shotting bosses

And a dude who we don't even know the actual name of (a friend of a dormmate that never showed up so we legit just don't even know the guy at all) who knows the recipe for explosives by heart and tried to calculate the ph level of magic acid and wrote himself out of the roleplay part of the adventure entirely. Also is never free so no session for a while now

It's been an experience, in ways I wouldn't have expected

In both a "please stop sniffing dust" way and in a way of learning to be more social on my end, even if sometimes that has to include sentences as "no, you can't have a carpet bomb as a lvl2 character" or "if you throw a decapitated head at a [insert non-violent type npc here], they won't wanna talk to you"

I love the chaos

I've also had some other stuff creep up on me that reset some progress I made in my behaviors and just becoming less depressed, but I managed to overcome it with the help of my partner. At least mostly. But hey, could be worse. Could have entirely destroyed myself. That would have sucked

I have a lot of things I wanna do and for all of that I need myself so, can't afford to lose me

For example, the goddamn card game that is hell incarnate

It's the unholy abomination child of yugioh with inscription, getting fucked sideways by slay the spire

I'm both excited to actually make it and hate everything about it

I have way too many shit going on as usual and I'm 100% sure not a single other soul will care but

It's a game I wanna make so I'll make it, even if for myself (for class, I am making a demo version cause there's no way in hell I make the whole thing in 4-5 weeks)

Only issue is that writing had to be sidelined again

But oh well

Passing my classes is a bit more important

And when I write, I can actually say I'm proud of what I'm doing

I am happy with my work on all fronts

Which is new and weird but also just

It's so freaking great

I can fuckin smile when I make my silly lil stories or cards or whatever

Life's good y'all

It really gets good

And I'm so damn happy it does

It's so fun

It's exciting

It's awesome

Yeah that's it
