APH South Italy/Romano Headcanons 🇮🇹

He wears a lot of jewelry, but it's classy never flashy. Several rings, one of which is engraved with an 'A' for Antonio. Usually wearing at least a solid gold chain and a crucifix.

He's very Catholic, in a uniquely Italian way (iykyk i cannot elaborate)

He smokes like a chimney, high quality cigars and cheap cigarettes. If you ask him to put it out he will blow it right at you. This is on top of heavy cologne (Versace Eros) so you can smell him from a mile away.

Certified Short King™, maybe around 5'7? I can see him with almost any sort of physique, that being said I don't think he's a twink, he at least has some wiry strength. He's lean but solidly built, maybe even has some pudge esp as he ages?

He's very warm toned. His skin is a light olive, not pale yet not quite bronze. He tans well but isn't tan all year round. Honestly he probably uses tanning beds during winter lmao

He's got a fair amount of body hair and often leaves his shirts unbuttoned to display this, intentionally or not. He's a sharp dresser when out in public, but at home he sits around in sweat stained tanks and boxers.

He loves his red wine, and apertifs. Grappa or Sambuca for something a stronger. Doesn't mind the taste of hard liquor at all. Definitely holds his alcohol better than his brother or Antonio.

Loves sailing and yachting, leisure sports. Has a bit of a gambling habit. Not to a destructive point, just in good fun.

When he's in a good mood he hums to himself and you might even catch him singing if he thinks he's alone.

Dances to Dean Martin in the kitchen with Antonio. He actually likes cooking together. Normally he'd be the type of person to hate others in his space while doing something, but Toni is an equally talented chef so he allows it.

Makes a big pot of sauce and polpette on Sundays. Italians will know. Eats wayyyy too much meat than is healthy. You can pry his salumi out of his cold dead hands.

He's sensitive and not always rational - the type to make mountains out of molehills and deflect real issues with humour. Explosive temper. Born to argue. Quick to throw insults (and hands). Just as quick to forgive and forget. If he holds a grudge you really fucked up.

If he likes you, he'll tease you and call you names. If he doesn't, he won't bother to talk to you much. He likes to fuck with people to an extent but has little patience for unnecessary conversation.

He can be extremely condescending; and to Tonio exclusively, extremely sweet. He's a smooth talker and romantic when he feels like it, laying on the pet names and sweet nothings, especially when he wants something in return.

He's honest and loyal, but generally a very private person. It's difficult to earn his trust and get on his good side but once you have it you're one of the lucky few. He's hospitable and generous and often does that for show. Loves to give meaningful and lavish gifts. If he cares about someone not only will they be spoiled in a material sense, but he'll do favors for them to make their life easier.

(note: this might be controversial re; accuracy but i don't actually have beef with his canon human name. 'lovino isn't a real name' well yes and no. it's not common or representative. but there's so much variety in italian naming that it certainly could be a first name. according to forebears there are 259 ppl named lovino on record but only 9 are in italy lol. or u could just call him ~romano~ which is a more popular human first name. i kinda like lovino, its unique.)

Character sheets take longer than I thought (I'm drawing on my phone without a stylus help me)

I am absolutely TERRIBLE at drawing guys body types so I had to stare at reference photos for like ever and I chose discus athletes as my frame of reference. It's better than my usual work but still not perfect so I'm glad I don't have to do scar/tattoo maps for all of the characters.

very common headcanon I know but I imagine all the the Ro'meaves are tall with Garroth being around 6"7-6"8. HOWEVER he and his brothers inherited their height from Zianna not Garte. With Zianna being around 7ft and Garte being around 5"11 (Which is still tall but like he's the shortest so he WOULD make everyone sit for family portraits)

I'm getting rid of the cross on Garroth's design and replacing it with a star symbol, maybe something to symbolize Irene's power or something. The "gem" in the center is actually dyed quartz as it's customary for head guard to place a false gem of glass or a cheap gemstone to mimic the look of the Jury of Nine. Guards are gifted slightly higher quality stone or hunks of metal if they are on the waitlist for the Jury as well.

I know we make fun of the fact he never changed his name but there was a period in where like 20 percent of the English population was named Mary so he can keep his name unlike Aph.

I'm basing O'khasis on specifically on places like Wales, Ireland, England and France so maybe expect some later design elements from there.

His cape is "faerie silk", which is one of the few exports from the Yggdrasill forest region and is known for its durability. It's one of the few items Zoey always keeps in stock because after the incident with Zenix, Garroth incorporated it into Phoenix Drop's guard uniform.

I keep running into problems with ages because Diaries is just inconsistent like that but I THINK 24 is a good enough age??? I'd explain but that's a whole ass post about the Ro'Meaves that isn't set in stone until I figure out how evil I'm making Zane and reworking how the lord system works.

His armor was originally way too fancy for Phoenix drop but I imagine that it fell into disrepair after the lord dies. Aphelia and Laurance get his armor fixed up for him for his birthday one year before everything goes downhill.

The scar on his face is because Zenix swung a giant-ass blade at his face and I refuse to believe he walked away from that fight unharmed physically

I know it's hard to see BUT HE HAS STUBBLE. He always attempts to grow a full beard but after like 2 weeks it gets too itchy and he just goes back to the stubble.

And I get they can have their reasoning. For example, because of a lack of food resources. Or something along those lines.

But regardless of that, if you just look at it in theory. Making the more serious and smart counterpart of a character just musculair without much fat while making the comedic relief counterpart of said character the fat one. Feels odd to me, even if not intended.

If falls into what we often see in movies and shows; the fat characters being comedic relief and stupid, and not taken seriously.

They can have their reasoning, it's fine. I am just stating my point of view on it.

ironically, mcd garroth does have more fat compared to his mys counterpart (or at the very least he doesn't have visible dehydration abs). we only ever get to see mcd garroth shirtless in the beach side stores, and at the time there were only two body types: extraordinarily low contrast yet defined abs and a more shaded version of levin's lil baby tummy.

extraordinarily low contrast yet defined abs (aka the squipples fit) was the default for most of the male characters (i think. i had to turn the contrast all the way up so i could actually see those delectably meaty squipples). dante, brendan, zane, brian, and the o'khasis guards all featured the squipple build.

however, both of aph's main guards were given the levin build. i always assumed it was a musclechub moment since they are...like....guards.

ITS TIME ITS TIME

my unhinged laurance zvahl headcanons 🫠

- Laurance has a BUNCH of ear piercings. Candenza made him swear not to get any facial piercings, and she's one of the only people he listens to. He did get a belly button piercing to spite her tho :)

- He has a lot of nervous ticks. He used to play with his hair when it was long, but when Cadenza cut it, he started cracking his knuckles and picking at his nailbeds. When Aphmau notices him doing this, she lets him play with her hair.

- GARRANCEMAU. POLYCULE. It was kind of unspoken for a while, and then Garroth got left behind in the Irene Dimension. So, Laurance and Aph got really close. However, nothing was official so she got with Aaron. Laurance and Garroth only ever realized after he had died. Garroth understood, he knew that the polycule wasn't too serious. However, Laurance on the other hand, didn't understand that. Plus, he was dealing with the calling and whatnot. There was a rift in the relationship for a while after that.

- All of the kids in the village love Laurance. I mean, we know he was one of Malachai's biggest role models, and Laur had also grown attached to him. But, he also kinda becomes Naoki (Nekoette but less problematic) and Dmitri's babysitter. He's always been good with kids, but MY IRENE he cannot handle Naoki. Leona also likes to hang around him, as well.

- Laurance used to have a fascination with fire when he was little. (i mean the man has adhd and u know how we r with fire.) He would stare at it for hours. It was the only thing that really calmed his brain. But now, he can't stand it. He can stay near a fire for warmth of course, but he's never the one to start or feed it. He can't look at it anymore. Too many memories. The fire is literally a part of him now. His new body was forged from it. There's no need to stare into the flames. He just has to look in the mirror.

- He's still blind, somewhat. His eyesight wasn't miraculously healed. He has to wash his face in the fountain of Lady Irene every so often, or his vision will completely blur. Even then, there's still spots that never go away, mostly on the outer field of his vision. He has reading glasses, as well.

- He's very physically affectionate. He plays with Aphmau's hair. He grazes over Garroth's hands constantly, running his thumb on all the marks in his palm or his scarred knuckles. When he was younger, he would always find something to fiddle with on Cadenza's clothes.

- He would model for Cadenza a lot. Before becoming a Shadow Knight, he was very comfortable in his body and his masculinity, so playing dress up was honestly very fun.

- Laurance always has to do something with his hands, so he takes up a lot of different crafts. Tying knots, woodcarving (thank you @xerith-42 for that one lmao), making jewelry. (In my hc my OC taught him how to make jewelry, but we don't have to get into that now haha)

- Laurance has Brazilian heritage, and even though he was an orphan, there's a large Brazilian population in Meteli and he was raised around the culture. Hayden kept Laurance very informed on his roots, and in turn Cadenza got to experience all of this as well. (I wanna go into this further at some point but I want to do the proper research first.)

- Since SKs don't need as much sleep, most nights Laurance just wanders Phoenix Drop. That's why he's usually the first to know when something's wrong.

- Before Laurance became an official guard, he was sort of a... vigilante. Bringing justice in the dead of night type beat. When he was younger, in his early teens, there was a high crime rate in Meteli. So, if Laurance saw someone stealing, or trying to break in somewhere, he'd tie them up and leave them outside the guard station for the authorities to deal with them.

a couple notes:

The markings all over her body are now scars. Scarification was something the Divine Warriors did to themselves for a couple reasons. The first was to show their true commitment. The second is that these scars are not just scars, but also runes. They help conduct their magicks and make them more powerful. But seeing as the warriors have been gone for 900 plus years, no one actually knows what these scars are or what they’re from. Except maybe Zoey…

Her gloves are just regular leather gloves dyed black embroidered with flowers. They were a gift from Garroth when noticed how hard she was working around the village. Because she was doing this without being asked and it was tearing up her hands, he got her gloves as a thanks. He payed extra to have them embroidered because he figured Aph would like that type of thing… She did..

I mean, I DO think too many characters have blue eyes. Between Dante, Laurance, Garroth, Katelyn, Zane - thats already the majority of the friend group.

I dont mind the blue hair/blue eyes combo, but Dante AND katelyn having it is a bit much 🤷‍♂️ AND they couldve kept Laurances original colour pallet :( I totally get changing the design bc of the skins, but in MYS theres no lore reason for Laur having blue eyes so at least they shouldve been green right??? Im also devastated hes not ginger but alas <\3

I think overtime the girls in the show have less variety, particularly in the hair. No different lengths or anything. I mean, just take Cadenza! She has longass hair in s1 but it eventually gets cut the same length as Kate, KC and Aph. The girl with THE most variety in character design - and probably one of the best designs imo - is Kim, and i literally couldnt tell you a single one of her character traits other than 'possessed'. Her highlights are different and I like her colour pallet.

The guys all look... kinda similar too. But they did well differing them in little ways, like hair partings and such. I do want Laurance's long hair back tho. Jess dont be a coward give us ling hair ginger laurance

I think its very funny that Laurance has ABSOLUTELY NO fashion sense, but i would like clothes to be more consistent! I like Dante's outfit with the button up/button up/shirt combo, even if it was ridiculous it felt in character - although its a shame that after Aarmau was made canon no other character could wear purple or red, because dante looked good in red!! I love Garroth's hawaiian shirt getup and they should bring that vibe back for him for sure.

this isnt so much an issue with character designs because. minecraft. but there arent many different body types. Like, I think Aphmau and Zane are fat, and then Travis has broad shoulders (according to 1 line of dialogue in s1, and hes still buff). and everyone else is just somewhere on the sims4 slider of skinny and strong.

All in all im torn abt Luci because I think its cute for her to be the odd one out (as i said in my If-I-Was-Tasked-With-Rewriting-Mystreet post), but thats clearly not the intention and you kinda forget shes a witch at all. Which would be cool if it was brought up? idk. Her black dress + bow was her best outfit i think. The red eyes and the bright ginger hair is a lot on the eyes and the black is a good combo for that.

TBH, the only Aph outfit I liked was the one from Season 3, but her current skin (non-mystreet) is actually very cute. I like it a lot

People have said this a lot, but one BIG issue i have with the mys designs is the colour pallets. Im a big fan of shows where one character is heavily associated with one colour, and though this doesnt HAVE to be the case for Mystreet, Id like then to be consistent. Kate's colour has always been blue, Travis' colour has always been green, Aph/Aaron Purple/red, Kc pink, zane black/grey, and Garroth is usually blue. but Dante, Laurance, Lucinda, Melissa, etc have had some super inconsistent ones.

One character design that I like across the series is actually KC. Once they know how to pair the pinks and black/white well, they do pretty well with it! Its just a lot of pink and easy to get wrong. but they do well

Travis' also isnt that bad, the outfit of his i really remember was fhe green hoodie and black trousers which felt correct.

To go back to the eye colours, Its fun to see Jess' thought process bc like. almost ALL of her love interests have blue eyes except aaron? idk. food for thought.

I'm kidding but also I'm not. Like with my Arthur appearance HCs, I see him as a mix of the idealist's (one of my faves), Kanbe, Meli, and also Sendittothemoon- shapely in body, angular in face and boy what a charmer.

Strong jaw. Wavy, chin length hair (I'm of the old fashioned blond but I also enjoy him a dirty blond/ light brown). Dark blue eyes and fine, high arched eyebrows. Prominent nose with a bump on the bridge. Killer cheekbones and perfect teeth and a brilliant smile. He looks as though he's stepped out of a modelling agency or an ad campaign, literally the idealised face of the ages. He knows how to dress himself perfectly to his body shape and the current fashion trends too which completes his look.

Very French.

But, I also think that unlike Arthur, who is somewhat average looking in the face overall, depending on the era, but who seems more handsome the more you look at him, I think that Francis is somehow too perfect. His flaws are more obvious, when they're picked out at such, and if each part of his face is looked at on his own there's kind of an uncanny valley effect. Like pieces of something perfect cobbled together to make something else.

I think that anyone beautiful, if stared at for long enough, becomes ugly and warped, and I think that Francis is so stereotypically beautiful that this is easy to do with him- stare at him for too long and watch him come undone under your scrutiny.

I love the idea of his body being curvy, with wider hips and thicker thighs. I think it’s ask-aph-fruk and sendittothemoon who pull of this body type my favourite way

My secret Santa gift for @aph-america I hope you like it! The prompt I chose was sci-fi au and I wanted to practice doing a different way of writing a fic so this is what I came up with.

These are the notes that I, senior biological researcher, Alfred F. Jones have taken of the newly discovered intelligent alien life forms known as ‘rocerits’. Contact between our species was made about seven months ago when our vessel The Nebula responded to a distress call from a free floating botany ship. In a one-in-a-billion moment, a meteorite had shot through their fuel storage leaving them stranded until we came to help.

Seeing this new biological discovery, my superior Dr.Kirkland and I went about documenting the many physical discrepancies between our species and theirs. Noted major differences were their enormous height (avg. 7’ 7” ft/ 231 cm), large weight (avg. 324 lbs/ 147 kg), lightly pink colored skin, and the strange way their language, for the most part, matched up in tones with the human language Russian.

The purpose of this paper is for supplemental information and further details on their basic biological functions can be found through Dr.Kirkland’s reports. In just the first few months of meeting, Vanya adjusted to the Earth language Russian and fascinatingly, learned quite a bit of English to be able to carry on the conversations necessary for our research. This is what I’ve recorded from the last couple months of our interactions.

Cooler Body Temperature

From the jump, rocerits do not consume food like the way humans do but instead work like plants by using large bodies of heat/light to convert to energy. Because of this, their bodies are much cooler than ours in order to withstand the heat for longer periods of time and interestingly, it seems that they are highly attracted to the warmth generated by other biological beings, such as humans.

A tip for those sharing a room with a rocerit: if sleeping in separate beds, keep the room warm (72°F/ 22°C minimum) and use a personal fan for yourself. If you’re sharing the same bed, keep the temperature however you want but be prepared to be cuddled by an enormous cool body.

Scenting Glands

Rocerits express intimacy first through scenting their partner with pheromones secreted from glands located around their neck and shoulders. Hugs are seen as a more intimate act between each other and in Vanya’s case, he was a big cuddler. Due to a past incident Vanya did not want disclosed to this paper, there was scaring around his neck that affected his ability to scent others. However, to my surprise, it still had such an intense effect on even humans that I practically couldn't even keep my hands off him.

A tip for a quick solution to a horny rocerit: litter their neck and shoulders with hickeys/bite marks to bring them to a fast climax.

Intercourse

With a lack of a digestive system, rocerits do not have a need for a colon or anus. However, reproduction still requires a male and female individual. Female rocerits, like female humans, have a vulva, and males have a penis while their testicles remain inside their cooled bodies. In a fascinating discovery, similar to how all human sexes retain their nipples, rocerit biology also has all sexes retain an orifice between their legs that works in a similar function to a vagina with the exception that males of the species are unable to carry children. With Vanya’s help, I’ve also learned how, evolutionarily, their hole is able to clench down tight onto their partner to ensure that pregnancy happens.

A tip for those in the penetrative position with a rocerit: be absolutely prepared to be connected to your partner for a while as their orgasms last longer than humans.
