Okays I might be tripping but why Hazel who is described to have skin as dark as roasted coffee be so light in fanart and Josephine who is described to have umber skin (??) be portrait with a way darker skin tone

Like I don't think this is a bad thing (making Jo darker than she is I definitely rock with that) but considering that Jo presents herself more masculine and Hazel more feminine I feel like there is... A certain colorism on the part of the fandom

Like I think Jo's case is just another Viria effect but my point about Hazel still
