Here are the steps for creating this painting:

Steps 1-2: Sketching and Coloring 😊🎨

Start by drawing simple lines to outline the sky, horizon, and tree, ensuring the basic shapes are correct. Then, boldly apply foundational colors to the sky and ground with pastels. At this stage, don't worry too much about the boundaries; the goal is to lay down a solid base of colors.

Steps 3-4: Detailing and Finalizing 🖌️✨

On top of the foundational colors, begin to add detailed textures and nuances, using shades to bring out light and depth. Take extra care at this stage to ensure smooth transitions between colors. Finally, refine the shapes of the tree and the details of the sky, adjusting the contrast and brightness to enhance the overall harmony and visual impact of the painting.

the presence of the exoparia doesnt actually change much for the way we reconstruct most dinosaur groups, however, it changes some minor things for two of the most well known dinosaur groups that should be taken into account:

WE DON’T GATEKEEP WEAVING TECHNIQUES IN THIS HOUSEHOLD!

So to start this is double cloth (meaning I have two different warps, they’re threaded on 4 frames and each slot in the reed has two strings, one from each warp)

Step one: lift up the entirety of one warp (for me, pedals 2 and 4), then select the design with a pickup stick/sword/the fiber only thingy

Step 2: Go to your OTHER warp (1 and 3 for me) with the stick still in and do a back and forth of plain weave, take the stick out to beat

Step 3: Pick up the background with the stick (aka anything you didn’t pick up before, 1 and 3 for me)

Step four: Plain weave with the other warp AND a different weft (2 and 4 for me) take out the stick and beat

Step 5: Repeat! You can do this with any pixel designs, provided you have enough warp strings to have 2 per square

Fair warning, be EXTREMELY careful with your selvages (edges of the warp), they pull in the sides a lot more than regular plain weave. Happy weaving!

Sketchy little study I did today in less than 10 minutes, id thought I'd share for those looking for deer anatomy tips

Note which joints align with one another and that deer have more joints than dogs or cats. Their hocks are MUCH higher too!

Please note art is subjective however and I am not the law. If you prefer drawing your deer legs different please do it and have fun 🫶🏽

hi!!! I have literally no idea if you do tutorials or advice, but I was wondering what your process for rendering skin is?? you have such a lovely and realistic (but unique) way of coloring skin :)

I’m not very good at explaining my process so I hope this makes sense :)

For skin I start by picking a base colour (a mid-tone) then I can add darker and lighter shading depending on where my light source is.

I work in patches of colour (I hate blending haha) following the shape of the face/body part. I picture each part like a 3d object.

I adjust brightness and saturation as I go and add complimentary colours where I think the skins undertones would be (this part is just trial and error there’s no real skill to it it’s purely what I think looks nice)

This is just how I do it and I’m sure there’s artists who can explain colour theory and lighting for skin a lot better :) but I hope this helps! <3

Quick little bonus tip if you wanna experiment with my style! When handling the transition from pixel to vector art, it helps immensely if you line up the vector shading and lines with the edges of pixels! This can help prevent that dreaded "mixel" look many tend to avoid in traditional pixel art.
