she also is constantly jumpscaring you on tsurumi island/ghost island bc while the ghosts are gone, the creepy atmosphere isn't, and it makes her all the more terrifying as The Raiden Shogun comes walking out of the fog into the cave you've hidden in, stuff of ur nightmares for weeks as u just bird box style try to be silent and stealth around the island to get to an abandoned boat,

literally her scary ass purple sword glowing silhouette wandering around in the fog as you paddle away 💀

getting to thunder bird island and Yae Miko is literally both running/teleporting as quickly as she can to you, as you jump from floating rock to floating rock to escape her, god its so unnerving to watch someone so lazy running after you

U literally get to the clockwork tower, foggy, ominous, uninhabited except for treasure-seekers occasionally, its perfect

until Neuvillette himself just strolls in abt 3 nights of u making camp there

u nearly shit urself as he just fake-knocked on a wall, meanwhile ur like hanging from the ceiling (four limbs out suspending you type of fictional shit)

luckily, mostly bc u were trying to wait him out (which wasn't possible ur limbs hurt so bad) he was, finally, the first person around u long enough to be genuinely kind and patient and answer questions

(Neuvillette acc couldn't figure out where u were at first, and was very confused how u got ur voice to boom around this chamber of the tower, after a minute of talking u trusted him enough to tell him to look up lol)

just in time too, he was able to hide u from the archons a little longer bc u were nervous

I was scrolling thru some of ur older beanstalked stuff and I think the whole concept of Vine!Jack is hella cool. Could u maybe recap the lore on him? 👉🏾👈🏾

Vine is basically just Jack but from an alternate universe where he didn't take as well to the news he was Bookmarked. He is basically the villain AU version of Jack. I call him Vine because it is a mouthful always saying "Evil Jack" and he has so much to him he also serves as his own character from time to time.

Some deep creation lore is that Vine kind of comes from the concept of the original fairy tale of Jack and the Beanstalk where the OG Jack can be viewed as a good guy or a bad guy. The Jack we have in Beanstalked follows the good guy approach since when I first read the tale as a kid, I always saw the original Jack as a protagonist. However, there's a lot of morally grey ground in that fable so many can easily view the fairy tale character as an antagonist and more of a trickster instead of a "good boy".

Deeper lore under cut

For the in canon lore of this AU, Vine is what happens when Jack is so fed up and angry with suddenly being forced into becoming Bookmarked that he just swallows the beans instead of planting them. This leads to the magic inside of them reacting with his body which nearly kills him. Thankfully, or unfortunately, Nevermore discovers Jack on his last legs and decides to help him under the condition he works for her. She gives him a real good sell on writing his own story and not abiding by the rules of some ancient omnipotent book.

Jack agrees and he is saved, resulting in him gaining vine abilities and even the power to grow beanstalks at will raging from small to massive. His eyes also shift to being his Slayer mode green by default.

With Nevermore acting in sorts as his fairy godmother instead of Oriana, the one we have in canon, Jack is a lot less of the oblivious goof we are used to and is more sly and up to a fight for the fun of it. He is willing to help others but for a price-whether it be gold, goods, or favors.

In this AU-Jack is one of the most dangerous members of Nevermore's little henchmen group because he is very tricky and his ability for controlling vines and giant beanstalks means he can literally change the battle field however he sees fit. He isn't completely heartless though as he still has some of the farm boy we know and love in him. Those he are closes to are the only ones who see his green eyes shift back to gold.

In this AU, his relationship with Nana is full of tension as he is a flirt towards her. She ain't with him being a smart ass but she does feel an allure to him when he is being genuine. She's about the only one who sees his softer golden eyed side the most.

You spawn on a road with sidewalks that have candles, you have a lantern in your inventory.

As you walk you will occasionally see an exit sign.

Halfway, pillars stretch up from the ground, most are normal but some are shaped like hands that reach to the sky. On top of the hands are weird figures with glowing green eyes and horns that look like something from the flaming horns series?

At the end of the road is the default Happy Home, though with minor modifications. An exit sign is right at the stairs and pointing at the door. Tube tvs are inside the home, a giant one at the middle against the wall with two stacks of tvs in the corners. The left side has one tv off, while the others are full of red static. They don't do anything when interacted with.

Note: This sorta resembles the thumbnail for scythe's teaser.

They also look like the TVs in broker's secret room (i reached the image limit so cant show ough)

Outside to the left and on top of the house are the same weird green eyed figures.

2. DIALOGUE

There are many figures running around saying various phrases,

phrases that ive seen:

Though, some of these figures are saying things from medkit ally dialogue.

3. THE OVERSEER NEXTBOT OR SOMETHING IDK

You are chased by an overseer eye, it can't be stopped permanently. Though, it can be halted by positioning yourself in the right area, however, it has good pathing and can jump extremely high, so you can't hide from it.

Getting caught by it results in an image showing up on the screen, this rewards you a badge the first time you see it.

Random note: the eye is weirdly clean? im not sure if its medkit's eye or not since I remember soda saying that subspace just threw the eye away,, (not sure if this is still canon)

After this you get kicked from the game with the message "You must kill him to become him."

The interesting thing is that this is the description of the overseer eye cosmetic.

This probably means something like "you must kill overseer to become him" or something but what does that mean who is killing overseer huh what

Another interesting thing is the jumpscare noise, it is a jumpscare noise used in old games.

The interesting part is what it is, the noise is actually the sound of the subspace tripmine slowed down, whether this was just coincidence or because of the subspace thing is unknown, it might even be both?

EXTRA . CHURCH OF THE TRUE EYE INFO

Not really related to the tower but just what we know about the cult

A religious group within lost temple, not everybody from lost temple is a member of it.

It is mentioned in Medkit's phone dialogue.

Every member of the cult is missing an eye.

Soda has mentioned that the reason why Sword's eye isn't missing is because he wasn't born in lost temple.

CORRECTION: Sword was born in lost temple, but wasn't raised in it. The point still stands that this is the reason why he hasn't lost an eye.

Based on dialogue between medkit and banhammer, it has been around for a while now. (THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME)

It is unknown what the goals or structure of the cult are currently.

They have a uniform, Medkit, Scythe, and Broker share the motif of outfits of mostly teal.

Scythe calls Vine Staff "blessed" in her dialogue with her, this is related to the cult somehow since in the same conversation Vine says "No! You and your creepy family can buzz off!"

^ According to broker, her curse is rare but she isn't the first one to have it.

They call themselves a family, and call Overseer their Father.

Overseer info:

There is barely any, but this is what we know.

They are referred to as a leader, it is unknown whether they are the faction leader or just the cult leader.

Scythe refers to him as a deity, whether they truly are one, manipulated the cult into believing they are, or the cult simply calls him a deity is unknown.

An alternative is that she isn't talking about overseer here at all, though if that is so we don't know if she's talking about a sfoth deity or a different one. ← if it is a sfoth deity, it is most likely to be darkheart or venomshank (or maybe even ghostwalker? idk)
