jisung sets down your refilled bottle of ice and water, ever the doting boyfriend, and sees the annoyed way you're staring at your screen (the pout, the furrowed brow, the general look in your eyes...). "you need a break."

you don't look up at him, just pawing toward the bottle. he pushes it into your hand, and you pop open the cap. "i can't. i just took a break--"

"then you just need a thirty second break." jisung doesn't close your laptop, but he pushes it a little forward. "honey. look at me."

you can grant him thirty seconds. your gaze finally flits up to meet his own. before you can take a sip of your water, he takes your face in his hands, smiling brightly. he always does this, you think: he has his off days, sure, but the moment you need a little sunshine... there he is.

"breathe for me, okay?" he says. and when you go to inhale deeply, he does it with you, over-acting and goofy as can be. your exhale ends up sputter-y as you crack up, and jisung just smiles harder. "there you are." he ducks down to give you a soft kiss against the lips, reluctantly pulling away after a few seconds. "you've got this. i love you."

your nose crinkles a little when you smile this time, and you press a kiss against his knuckles before he goes to leave you to your work. he always seems to know what you need most. "i love you, too."
