Anyway, it's funny that Lestat possessed him both times: one (where Sam clearly was able to control him) where he was totally down to the idea of f*cking Dale and in the other where he cant stand the idea of Louis f*cking Dale (Lestat you fake poly. A cheater is what you are) I didn't believed 100% in the Lestat possession allegations until i watch this 🤯

first, i just think they're neat <3 and they love each other very much

But even beyond that, I think their relationship is a form of exploration for them both. Red Son doesnt get out much, but when he has a reason to, then he tends to enjoy it. Porty gives Red every chance to dress up and go have fun outside of expectations of his parents and everyone else around him.

Porty is aware of his existance as a clone, but he's also an expression of MK's desire to do nothing but party and goof off with friends. The more Porty appears, the more stable and secure he becomes in himself.

Porty and Red didn't quite get along well at first, but when Red realizes that Porty doesnt have the same expectaions the MK does for him, then when he's dragged out to party, he lets himself have fun. Porty becomes someone Red can relax and have fun around. They spend a lot time together in party-like environments which also leads to them seeing incredibly vulnerable sides of each other; Red's insecurites about not living up to everyone's expecations as well as the thoughts and feelings he holds for MK, and in turn, Porty as well; Porty speaks about how he's aware he's a clone, but even MK thinks of them as seperate enough that he's left alone to live his own life as long as it helps MK keep his own mind off wanting to let go of his responsibilites and just let loose.

With Porty's influence, Red explores more of the desires he'd ignored for most of his life. Including gender, appearance, and even sex. Porty and MK's memories are seperate until Porty is dispelled, but MK is fine letting Porty exist, so Red has time to collect himself to eventually talk to MK directly about his feelings.

Mixtape aren't always the healthiest relationship, but they do genuinley care for each other. They definately improve over time and MK is aware that Porty and Red spend a lot of time together, though he doesn't pry. Porty also wants to help Red talk to MK, but he's also willing to indulge in many forms of procrastination. Genuinley, though, after a while, I don't know if I imagine them having a romantic relationship (that being formed between MK and Red later on), but they're very close. Friends with benefits, but more like Queer Platontic Partners with benfits, if that makes sense? Really close friends with benefits? Labels are hard ;-;

After this I like to think Porty gets Red to lay down and talk about his frustrations. Maybe even brushing through his hair. If Red is feeling good enough, Porty will dress him up and they'll go to a club, but if not, they just stay in Red's room and put on a show or a game depending on energy levels.

Also semi-related queer headcanons I have for these guys:

Red Son: - Demi-romantic, Pansexual, Genderqueer - Despite all the time he and Porty spend together, the only person he ever feels romantic connection with is MK. And that's only after years of being around him and MK's unconditional, unstoppable force that is his love for the people in his life - Red doesn't think of gender often. And definately not when it comes to people he wants to be close with. MK appeals to him because of his actions as someone who will protect his family at all cost. Porty appeals to him because he listens and indulges Red, but doesn't set any suffocating expectations. - Gender is not something Red Son likes to use to define himself. He doesn't really are what labels are applies to him, but he'd rather not be referred to as trans, because he doesn't feel disconnected from his gender. He prefers Genderqueer, but he wouldn't complain about Cis, Genderfluid, or Agender as labels.

Porty: - Aromantic, Homosexual - It's partially due to being a clone, he doesn't want to necessarily get romantically involved with anyone. I also headcanon MK as being on the Aro spectrum, so its not something Porty thinks about as odd. When he and Red talk about boundaries, it's a mutual agreement that while they can kiss and have sex, romantic intention is not and will never be there. - His sexual orientation also comes from MK. Its something he doesn't question, nor does Red Son's genderqueer identity make him question.

TLDR: Mixtape is a way for both Red and Porty to explore their own identites with each other. It's not always a healthy dynamic, but over time they get better about it. Even outside partying, they come to feel comfortable around each other due to Porty's lack of expectations for Red Son and Red's willingness to indulge and listen to Porty (and seeing him as a person, even if he's unable to be compeltely seperated from MK). Even after Mixtape gets really close, Porty encourages Red Son and MK to properly talk, so Spicynoodles is the distant goal.
