hi fellow shawol! i hope you're doing well!

one of my biggest pet peeve of being a young shawol has to be the amount of times i was assumed to be a newbie to shinee. like if i would have £1 every time someone asked me if i was a taemint, i should be a millionaire by now. then when i tell them that i'm a shawol of 14 years and a blinger, everyone looks at me funny. they say because of my age, i cannot be a shawol for that long and they would say that i'm too young to be a blinger.

by the way if you didn't know, i'm 14 years old. i will be turning 15 in february 4th. i'm a winter baby like onew and minho! my brother has also been a shawol for 14 years, but he's 18 now. we both got into it by our big cousin iza who was 15 at the time. she's 29 now and she acts like a teenager whenever the topic of shinee comes up. she's really fun to talk to at times and can be a big party animal. her twerking to lucifer is still living in my head rent free after all these years. why? i really don't know.

i'm sorry if me talking a lot is annoying, but i just wanna make someone day or even make friends... i hope you have a nice rest of the week though! take care of yourself and i hope you don't lose your shawol heart. i might get off them soon, but i just love seeing passionate people talking about their interests or hobbies that they had been doing for many years.

your big cousin is the same age as me, and i got my nephew, who's nearly 23 now, into shinee when he was about 7? years old. how influential me & your cousin are huh 😙

man that’s the hardest thing about being a blinger in 2022. some people are ot5 whilst others are ot4. until this day, i’ll always be calling jjong my husband exactly how i used to when i was 4/5 years old. whenever i look at him, i’m reminded on the day i fell for him for the first time — it feels like i’ve met him at a coffee shop. nah this guy gives me the “i’m gonna go to starbucks because white teenage girls are doing it so why can’t i” vibe and buys a latte since he cannot stand the taste of coffee and WHAT DO YOU KNOW i’m doing the exactly the same as him and now we’re acting like giggly kids who has done something naughty and knows we’re going to get in trouble. our punishment? falling in love.

after years of being together, our marriage, me giving birth to baby taemin and getting old together at the beach in hawaii, the time must come to say goodbye at the beach, but the memories will always stay with us. although it has been (exactly) 9 years, to my little mind, it felt like forever since he came into my life and honestly i wouldn’t trade it for anything. i’m just happy that i got to be in the same era as him. if i didn’t, i might of well say that i wish i never met him at the coffee shop. it was magical when we met, and i’d say it’s better than reliving the moment he passed. and to that, he’s still alive in my heart, my husband.

hiya Krystal, how's it going? I just saw your post about gatekeeping baby shawols and I wanted to ask what's going on? I haven't really been up to date with the fandom shenanigans since like 2014... t.t

i mean the shinee fandom has been kind of....all over the place post dec. 18 for obvious reasons. but mainly, babywols tend to be (NOT ALL, but quite a large amount of them) dismissive of jonghyun, blingers, and "hagwols" (aka ancient shawols). they're dismissive of our grief and how we cope and try to police us and say "holding shinee back" by trying to keep the memory of jjong alive??? or not letting shinee "move on" by bringing him up???? and there's just this weird new influx of shinee fans who romanticize his depression and also make that like the primary thing that they know about him. jonghyun was NOT his depression. there's so much to love about him and i hate when it gets erased. they're also the ones more likely to put trigger warnings on his name??? like he's some taboo word???? it's so offensive and infuriating. babywols have just made the fandom so unwelcoming for us older shawols and blingers especially. when i see babywols say things like "learing about jonghyun feels like a waste of time" or a that his memory is a "burden" to the group i just...yeah i get extremely upset. so...i want to gatekeep shinee and would like to drive away said babywols :)

new blinger anon here!! i just discovered a drama ost by jjong, thinking wow that sure sounds like my best friend... and that indeed is my best friend!! :))))) ahh his voice is so charming, isnt it. like jjong's is one of the handsomest voice i've ever heard, if it makes sense?? like a lot of singer's voice are beautiful but jjong's voiceis both beautifl and handsome!! also have you read that onew interview where the interviewer is saying that his voice is orange? it was baffling to me because onew's is soft baby blue to me,like morning sky! i got curious, what do you think shinee member's voice colors are?i think jjong's is the reddish-orange, kibum is neon green, minho is earth tones and sometimes dusty pink! and taemin is white. taemin's is one of the whitest voice i have ever heard tbh, maybe beacuse jjong, onew , and kibum all taught him how to sing? (you know. RGB -> white). anyway tell me what you think and sorry for rambling!

(oh and the thank you is for loving jonghyun long enough for me to get to know him! i believe people live as long as love is poured for them, and when i think of the way you guys love him, i'm happy, i'm not sad anymore ^^)

and yes, i totally get you when you say he has a handsome voice! he really does. it makes sense.

as for shinee's voice colours hm.

just off the top of my head, jinki's is like an olive green. key, something bright. neon, like you said, but i can't picture a particular colour. jonghyun's, peachy. taemin, yes white, same, that's a perfect way to describe it. minho, a midnight blue almost purple.

ahhhhh yes, i love f(x). they are my girls whomst i adore and i've even seen them live twice. shinee love them too. f(x)'s biggest fans and supporters tbh.

some of my absolute fave songs by them are: airplane, love, mr. boogie, dracula, sweet witches, rude love, ice cream, red light, lollipop (ft. shinee) & shadow.

also, all their title tracks are good.

but there are tons more that i really like too. honestly you can't go wrong with their discography imo. super experimental and fun!

hi, I don’t think your post was offensive or anything. I think you explained your emotions well tbh. I think most shawols deeply grieve jonghyun because many of us do have love for all five members very strongly. I don’t know any solo stans. But as a blinger I do think the grief is a little different. like of course I love all the members but as my bias for years I always looked for jonghyun on stage, or picked out his voice in a song, first. I can’t speak for everyone but I think most people sometimes center their bias a little. That experience is different for me with shinee now. I mean I’m still having so much fun this comeback and I seeing the other members so happy and kill it on stage! but it’s little things like that, that affect me differently being jonghyun biased. I miss him in many ways but also I miss having him as my bias. does that make sense?

Well I’m glad if I could convey my emotions well, I really try. 

First of all, thank you for sharing this. I was not Jonghyun-biased at first, but it did change in 2013. So for me, he has that importance as what you are describing. Like his music and artistry is my favorite out there equal to my other favorite singer. 

But I totally get what you mean. We all pay extra attention to our bias/biases for sure. Like you said, looking out for them, loving their parts in songs more, etc. Nothing wrong with that at all, it’s normal of course. Just want to make clear that I didn’t mean people shouldn’t have biases, I think I didn’t express that well and that would be hypocritical of me when I’m Onjjong*** biased. 

I totally get what you mean, it does make sense completely. Of course, if he was your ult that sense of grief or emptiness is heightened. Of course.
