Having S3 Knockout/Starscream thoughts because auuuuu they’re so doomeeeeed.
Like, you’ve got Knockout, who needs his aftercare, (and like, yeah, everyone does, but Knockout is especially dependent on it, plus he’s used to Breakdown who was the aftercare master, and ofc those two facts both amplify eachother), and Starscream, who is almost certainly going to insist on domming because by Primus he is not ready to be vulnerable, and is probably gonna be giving no aftercare after because
A: He’s never really received it himself that often if at all,
B: Receiving it itself requires that level of emotional vulnerability that low key terrifies him,
C: Given that aftercare is generally a foreign concept to him, his preference of what he prefers his doms to do once they’re done is to just leave so he has space to dissociate (why is this man so tragic), he probably on some level figures that’s probably also what Knockout wants him to do, so he thinks he’s doing him a favor,
and D: He probably still needs to go dissociate himself, which he didn’t expect would still happen even though he wasn’t subbing, the deeply traumatized fuck he is.
And given that they’re both catty bitches it’s not like they’re gonna talk about this afterwards and try and work through these problems, Knockout is probably gonna just say “yeah, this was a mistake, let’s not do that again” the next day and internally Starscream will be like oh thank Primus because he was just not ready for all that.
And the thing about them is that under non-toxic circumstances while they’d still probably be friends, they would under most circumstances probably never fuck, because they’re really not sexually compatible. They’re just not eachothers types, they both are mostly into big hunky mechs and the only reason they, being a pair of twinks, fucked is because at that point in time they were eachothers only non-actively-hostile relationships, and they were both desperate for the idealized version of a (for lack of a better term) human connection that they both were deeply craving but not ready to deal with the real, messy, complicated version of.
As decent as the sex itself might have been, the overall experience was deeply unsatisfying for both of them, so in the end this whole situationship gets filed away as an unfulfilling rebound fling, so it's really no wonder that when push came to shove the prospect of aimlessly roaming the galaxy with this guy didn't really appeal to Knockout.
and it's just this deeply tragic situation where while someone (Optimus, it's Optimus) could have "fixed" (read: assisted in the healing process of) Starscream, Knockout was under no obligation to be that person, even if it meant the end of Starscream's story was him getting tossed around by dragons. It's just so unfortunate.
anyways, just so this post isn't a complete downer, I do see a few circumstances where things could have worked out between them, I could see Starscream getting thrown into KO/BD working out well, maybe in some universe where Starscream succeeded in killing Megatron in S1 and ended up leader of the Decepticons with Knockout as his 2IC. Not only because Breakdown is just the absolute sweetest and as stated before, the master of aftercare, but also because Knockout still having his stability in Breakdown and not being high key depressed would probably make him more likely to want to take on a "pet project" in Starscream, so to speak. I also remember a while ago you made a post about a OP/KO/SS (sidenote, its so funny to me how the moment Knockout enters a ship the names just get reduced to letters) fic you wanted to write, I don't think I mentioned it at the time but I absolutely would read that if you made it.
So yeah, Knockout and Starscream aren't inherently doomed, but boy howdy did it turn out that way.
ohhhhhh man, these two are another guilty pleasure of mine, but yes. they are absolutely doomed with the way the narrative played out.
the way you said it pretty much sums it up. these two are searching for something in each other that neither of them will be able to find.
knock out needs someone to take care of him. he needs someone to really love him the way breakdown did. he needs someone who's willing to take care of him and make him feel like he's needed, even if he's not that open about it. it's why ratchet being grateful for him was one of the big tipping points which led him to join the autobots, the way i see it. whether or not he was into ratchet, that's up to you, but either way, he was needed.
and starscream needs to heal. this bot has been through so much, from leaving cybertron to losing his trine, and that's not even getting into all of the bullshit he's had to put up with concerning megatron. he doesn't have the strength to be emotionally vulnerable because he's afraid of the consequences of opening himself up. knock out can be a release for him, a way to just forget everything for a while, to not be himself.
so, these two, being each other's only stable relationship aboard the nemesis, sought what they needed in each other. of course this was never going to end up healthy. if they were just back on cybertron, away from the war, they probably would've been those catty best friends who are practically attached at the hip and love to judge everyone together. but in a sexual relationship? aboard the nemesis? in the middle of a war? this was doomed to fail.
it could work, though. i can see where you're coming from with ko/bd/ss, especially if megatron either stayed gone or straight up died. starscream wouldn't have to put up with megatron's shit anymore, and, since breakdown was still there, knock out and breakdown would be able to have that stability. this might leave knock out with a desire to bring starscream into their relationship, should the three of them be into that.
and i'm glad you brought up ko/op/ss or knockstarop, because it's an underrated idea and probably my ot3! the way i see them, optimus and knock out would probably get together first, but the both of them have expressed interest in starscream, so they invite him into their relationship and now they don't have to pick and choose between each other. more love to go around!
but yeah. as much as i enjoy ko/ss, they were probably never gonna turn out healthy with how canon went.
#i talk like they were ever established in canon lmao#idc i play with them like barbies#fuck man i need to write that knockstarop fic#someone's gotta pioneer this trio#might as well be me#transformers#starscream#knock out#optimus prime#breakdown#transformers prime#tfp starscream#tfp optimus prime#tfp knockout#tfp breakdown#kobd#ko/ss#ko/op/ss#knockstarop#maccadam#answering things

Here’s an email I wrote feel free to use it:
Hello,
As a long time fan of Interview with the vampire and a lover of your tv adaption, I am emailing today to enquire why Assad Zaman has been excluded from your advertisement. Armand was a crucial character in season 2 and will go onto be a crucial character in seasons to come.
Assad has not been in much promotional material for the show which I think is a large oversight. He is a major character but you have neglected him in any promo material.
Would appreciate an explanation why he has been excluded.
Thank you for your time,
Regards
Thank you! I would also suggest making it clear that being racist will result in financial consequences because ultimately that's what matters to them (losing viewers and customers)
For example, I added "This is concerning to me because I am a subscriber of AMC+ and a collector of several AMC shows on BD, but I feel that I cannot continue to support AMC if it continues this exclusionary treatment of its cast as it reflects poorly on AMC's values as a company."
This is fucking true by the way, I bought s1 and s2 but the way they're going rn I'm not buying s3 and I canceled my amc+ already and I'm not renewing.
Fuck around and find out AMC!

I know I've made some posts touching on my thoughts about the Cons post S1, but I wanted to make one with my in depth thoughts.
Now the writing has obviously taken a nose dive, but the Cons being Cons thing isn't part of that. The Cons have always been self serving so their behavior isn't OOC as most people think. I will say that Starscream taking being called worse than Megatron as a compliment does seem odd compared to how upfront he was about how Megs treatment affected him. Doesn't change the fact that people who were abused can be abusers, too.
A major theme of the show is judging a person by their actions, not who they are. The Cons in S1 are perfectly willing to play nice as long as it suits them.
Examples: -Swindle fooling Mo and Thrash -Breakdown straight up asking Bee if he could shoot GHOST agents in Security Protocols. Then there's the fact BD got pissy with Bee about being locked up. There's also his response to Twitch after she asked the Cons for help. -Shockwave getting straight to business to get back at Croft despite the fact he earlier referred to the Terrans as abominations.
I know the biggest sticking point for a lot of people is Starscream. The same Starscream that has a reputation in universe for being a bastard even in S1. Yeah, he had a moment with Hashtag and helped her, but him helping wasn't out of the goodness of his own spark, at least not completely. He flat out states that he knows he'd be screwed if the Dweller wasn't dealt with. Let's not forget that a huge reason he even bothered helping in the S1 finale is because he'd get a chance to beat the crap out of Megatron. Do you honestly think he'd be as motivated to help if that wasn't a factor? The Cons may not have been fully aware of what exactly Mandroid was planning, but they knew they were going up against GHOST, possibly the Autobots and Megatron who are all on the majority of the Cons shitlists.
Why do so many people think the Cons helping in the S1 finale firmly places them on the side of good? The phrase, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." 100% applies here. It's no different than Mandroid teaming up with GHOST or Cons to achieve his goals. The Cons actions weren't altruistic. There was something in it for them so of course they'd bail once the dust settled. Would it have been nice to see that play out? Absolutely.

[The future of this blog]:
stranger things: I have mixed feelings about reviewing it given what certain staff has said and done. I oscilate between wanting to review the final season or wanting to boycott it (especially as someone who has been part of the BDS movement for 1/2 her life). But, on one hand, It's not the fault of the underpaid (and talented) writers and staff who don't have these views. And I do believe some of the writing staff may have good intentions and want to give us a positive and powerful message to the audience about healing from childhood tr*uma. However, other members of the writing staff may just want to go down the stereotypical and popular-easy route. We'll just have to wait and see what happens in the last season. If I hear the ending isn't simply another re-hashing of prior seasons and it's more like s1-2 (without the cliches of s3-4). I'd be more inclined to review it *cough* and watching it elsewhere. Once I was logged back on to tumblr: I did have a whole draft saved about my politics since I was a kid and why I still feel so strongly about such conflicts, today . But, I shouldn't make the topic about me- and I'm not sure anyone wants to hear my life story XD. So, the big point (to my followers) is regardless of whether I chose to watch it or boycot it-
I'm not deleting the old ST content: so do what you want with it (like, reblog, add details to reblogs I didn't notice). Have fun :D !
Analyzing ST certainly helped me improve in terms of media literacy (and it'll be beneficial for the future content I make). So even if it sometimes got messy here, I do appreciate all the positives the ST blog and followers brought to me.The kind words meant a lot. For those who want to unfollow me for my political beliefs , that's totally fine. That's your prerogative. For those who want to unfollow cause again ST was pretty much my whole blog: again I TOTALLY understand and I wish you the best :). I'm not going to judge, take away, or guilt anyone, for their choice of media they like. Enjoy it (I truly mean that).
For those who continue to follow my blog . I appreciate you SO MUCH! I've been gone from this blog for such a long time cause of school (and I appreciate those who stayed and were excited to see me again). The positive words meant a lot over the years. Everyone have a lovely day. Take care of yourselves.
Sincerely, Kay

do you know what Brian’s star sign is? lol
hello anon, now we are fucking talking, finally my favourite topic of discussion is here 😈
even though we don't have brian's exact date of birth (because qaf timeline is a big fucking mess 🤡🤡), we still know some facts: brian only has a bd in s1 and it happens just before justin's prom. google tells me that typically usa proms happen in like may/june (tho it's so obvious they filmed the episode in march) BUT we also have a pride episode in the beginning of s2, thus making it impossible to be june. by my estimation brian's bd should be late april/early may and so i think he should be a taurus ♉️ (april 20 – may 20). imo it make sense bc taurus are (again googled some of it) loyal, reliable, patient, hardworking, practical, materialistic individuals, they appreciate comfort and stability, they like having a routine and their home is their safe space, but they are also quite stubborn and possessive, guarded emotionally and have a thing for sensual pleasure. in romantic relationships they show love through actions more than words, need physical closeness from a partner and hate drama. i feel like this describes brian perfectly but also makes sense timelinewise inside the show (can't say this about some other characters as they all somehow ended up being pisces or aries or had more than two birthdays on different dates 🤡🤡🤡)
I think some other signs may suit brian but again I tried to connect it to the show but I'm here to listen to people's opinions on this topic

For what it's worth, I consider myself a mostly casual RO (and rebelcaptain) enjoyer and S2 was very disappointing even to me. I understand why this wasn't the case for more devoted fans, obviously, but I'll admit I was okay with some 'controversial' choices made in S1 as long as they served the themes and characters in the long run. But this season didn't really deliver imo, especially for Cassian, and while I didn't come in with a strong attachment to him like many of you, he really got done dirty...especially for the guy whose name is on the sign, you know. I liked that the show didn't require a lot of SW knowledge to appreciate, but I also would've never checked it out if it hadn't been advertised as a RO prequel. You'd think respect for a story and its elements would be a major requirement if you're boasting about transitioning seamlessly into it. I'm really sorry you all got let down this bad and that people are brushing it off. It happened to other stuff I'm less casual about, so...I get it.
Hi anon, thank you friend! Yeah, this is something that happens in lots of franchises and media, it's happened so many times with SW lol. Like Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors being the original Cassian and Jyn/Kanan and Hera. Like Legends in general.
I think part of why this is has hit me harder than I expected is twofold:
1. I genuinely believed that the show was going to honor Rogue One and at least try not to contradict some very important parts of Cassian's character arc in the film, which it did.
2. Rogue One came out when I was in a very different place in my life. I was slowly getting out of a very dark depression that I had been in since late 2010. I was connecting with people for the first time in years at a retail job that brutalized my body, and then one of those people was someone who I sort of caught feelings for and they fell for another friend of mine and got married. It was shitty, it was painful and frankly I didn't always know how to deal with people. But also, at the same time Donald Trump had just won the election, my relationship with my parents was about as bad as it had ever been, and literally on my way to the film I totaled my first car.
I didn't go into Rogue One with expectations that I would fall for these characters, it was just another SW movie that I was excited for. And it legitimately broke my heart but also gave me such hope for a brighter future.
One of the things I love the most about the film is that it is about healing, finding your people and not being alone in the darkness. And in the years since, I have done a LOT of work on myself, found my people, found work that I love and have grown to understand the world in a much sharper way than I did back then. I'm not as angry as I used to be, and I am not as lonely.
I loved S1 even if I was aggravated with some of the character retcons because it was WELL DONE. I personally do not think s2 will age very well, but it is what it is.
But the past year and a half has been so fucking painful, and then before that covid and everything else, and I just feel tired. I thought about not watching the season at all because of BDS but I've been finding ~other~ means allegedly. I probably just should have not but I love Cassian, he means so much to me, and I couldn't not watch.
It hurts to see something that has helped me heal so much be misunderstood in such a profound way.
Tbh I am probably done with Star Wars beyond this. But I will always love Rogue One, what I understand it to be, and the Rebelcaptain fandom will always be here.

what are some of your favorite nonfiction podcasts?
the big one I recommend is just king things - two marxist academics go through the books of Stephen King in publication order. extremely funny and insightful podcast, very accessible (like this is not a theory podcast or anything, it’s very laid back and casual), and I really appreciate their approach to literary criticism.
game studies study buddies is by the same hosts as just king things but this is a theory podcast. Each episode they go over and discuss a book from the field of game studies (ie the academic study of games). I very much recommend you listen to this if you want to like passively absorb critical/leftist theory. The hosts are academics, one of which teaches about games regularly as a professor, so it kind of feels like someone is teaching you about a text. I find it fairly accessible, I learn a lot about games, and as I said they very frequently structure their discussions with left wing theory. I find them very insightful!
blowback is very good, it’s about the imperial history of the United States. a history/journalist type podcast. this can get extremely heavy and difficult to listen to given the subject matter so I would not binge this (I usually listen to it when I’m doing a physical activity) but it’s a really good source of historical information and has helped me develop my political understanding of modern western imperial history. each season covers a different event: S1 is the invasion of Iraq, S2 is the Cuban Revolution, S3 is the Korean War, S4 is the invasion of Afghanistan
ALAB (all lawyers are bad) is good with some caveats. It’s a podcast by a bunch of lawyers who spend a lot of time on twitter discussing how horrible lawyers are, usually either focusing on specific high-profile lawyers (Kavanaugh, Dershowitz), specific american legal regimes (anti-BDS legislation, sanction law, etc), or specific trends in the legal system that causes structural problems (eg lifetime judgeship appointments with no mandatory retirement age). They also sometimes do random funny lawsuits or cover legal responses to events like Jan 6th. A mixed bag in terms of focus but mostly it’s hating on American law and the legal system. This is a critical recommendation because it’s a bunch of lawyers dudes riffing and some of their analysis can be stupid/bad, they say stupid shit that comes off as “anti identity politics” at times, etc. I’m pulling from memory because it’s been a while since I listened to them so I’m sorry if this is overly vague/general. The best way to describe it is chapo-adjacent if that means anything to you lol
and finally the podcast knowledge fight. this is a podcast dedicated to covering and debunking Alex Jones. in all honesty I don’t find this podcast super valuable in terms of analysis, like they are only really focused on debunking the claims Jones makes and explaining why they’re factually wrong. Which like that’s a good thing to do, I’m not saying its bad, but I don’t really need to be convinced Jones is lying about everything lol so I don’t personally find it super useful/insightful. If you have to interact with Alex Jones fans regularly (like family members) then maybe that will be more valuable for you! Totally depends. however the reason I bring them up is because I DO recommend the series of episodes they have titled formulaic objections - in this series they go through all the deposition material from the sandy hook lawsuit against Alex Jones (the one that cost him a billion dollars in damages and court sanctions lol). They play clips of the depositions throughout these episodes, which are so fucking insane to listen to. Like listening to a bunch of employees of an insane fringe right wing media organisation being questioned by lawyers for hours on end is so entertaining lmao. This lawsuit is about the sandy hook school shooting so a warning about the subject matter, it can get dark at times, but on the whole it’s extremely fucking funny to listen to. And the hosts provide a lot of context for what’s going on in the lawsuit, talk about it, and also they debunk the shit Jones lies about in court that you may not know about, so I find that part of it really good.

hello! i hope you are well ☺️
after this chapter i am genuinely so confused as to why the undertaker (who i presume revived doll as a bd since he was present when sebastian killed her) would allow her to attempt revenge on ociel and the servants. doesn’t he not want any more phantomhives lost? even if no harm could ever reach ociel because of sebastian, doll does still pose somewhat of a threat to him as he is only human and she is this enhanced creature with potential abilities to harm him. also why is doll referring to the servants as ‘phantomhives’, i mean sure they work for the master of house phantomhive, but they aren’t; why is she calling them that when her master who is rciel (i think) is also a phantomhive? last but not least, who do you think will leave victorious, doll and the maids or finny and the kids.
thanks in advance for your reply and have a wonderful day😊
Conflict of interests
Undertaker does a lot of things that seem to go against his own interests. He's been figuratively shooting himself in the foot. I guess it's because if he told our earl what he really wanted to do, ultimately, then our earl would not agree. Instead, Undertaker has decided to try to force our earl into a situation where he's more willing to accept his terms, whenever he eventually gets around to stating them; that would be whenever our earl is most vulnerable. That would definitely hold true, if, say... Undertaker wants to transplant our earl's soul into real Ciel's body, as some last ditch effort to "save" them both. Our earl (or Sebastian) would likely only agree to that if our earl's body were severely damaged in a fight or something. Until the contract is fulfilled, Sebastian can't let him die.
I can envision scenarios in which our earl is injured to the point that the only way to keep his soul from departing would be to place it into another vessel. Sebastian previously offered to place him entirely, soul and body, within himself to keep him safe, but our earl declined. That would be separate from devouring him, but if his body is too injured to survive, then putting him inside Sebastian might be the same as devouring him. Can't do that until the contract is up. Undertaker would step in saying something like "What to do? What to do?! Oh, I have an idea! Hihi!" Removing our earl's soul and placing it into real Ciel's body could break the contract, because real Ciel doesn't have a contract seal. This became an issue in s1, when the contract temporarily breaks because Ash/Angela cuts off Sebastian's left arm, which has the contract seal on that hand. That's how Claude steals his soul before Sebastian can devour it. Undertaker is a tricky fellow, and I'm sure he's looking at every opportunity he can find, even if it risks lives he wants to protect.
Doll sees anyone associated with our earl as a "Phantomhive", which is seriously ironic, because she's working for a Phantomhive and Undertaker, who wishes to not lose Phantomhives. If Polaris was once a Phantomhive butler, as I theorize, then he's another. Tanaka would count, too, regardless of which brother he serves. Doll herself is a "Phantomhive", in the same way that Finny and Snake are.
In a recent post, I said that I hope Snake and Finny point out to her that she's working for her enemy's twin, the real Ciel Phantomhive. I don't know whether she's actually met him. Would she mistake him for the younger twin who had her and her family killed? Or does she have some sort of doublethink going on, where she refuses to accept the obvious; it's all just a feud within the same family. She's being duped and used by the Phantomhives, either way.
I do expect Finny and most of the kids to survive, but there might be some casualties on Finny's side. We could lose some kids, besides the candidates that have already "fledged", because that's how dark the series has become. Snake could lose a snake. Even Snake could end up dying, but I sure hope not. We have to remember that Yana-san has no qualms with killing off a beloved character that's been in the story for many years. I can't even promise that Finny makes it out; I just think he probably will. Mother3 theory says Finny should survive, but 🤷🏻♀️.

ohhh what fics are you reading? I've been in a dry spell I need some recs
If you're after the ones i mentioned in an earlier post i warn you they're all star wars. The ones that all updated today are:
hold onto me as we go by @sauntering-down for Jedi Fallen Order
A sequel to another wonderful fic, It's got everything I like in terms of sickfic and whump without losing characterization. Also features the best droid since BD-1.
Definitely recommend their other works in the fallen order archives!
Relics by @pennflinn for Jedi Fallen Order
ITS A HEIST FIC!! Also some cool utilization of the Force and psychometry so far! I haven't finished the most recent chapter yet and I'm so pumped to read it.
Again, definitely going to recommend checking out her work if you like fallen order.
Doomsday by CourtesyTrefflin for The Bad Batch
A what-if fic with Hunter's chip activating instead of Crosshair's. It goes through s1 with some obvious changes.
Other than that I'm going through the FFXV and Linked Universe ao3 archives and reading some old faves. (on that note I'll plug @breakfastteatime's work in both the FFXV and Jedi Fallen Order archives)
And I can't resist a lil plug of my own, you can find my ao3 here!
*edit* Since you're here and a captive audience, i'm also going to add my personal favourite fic of all time:
Fate & The High King's Falcon by Baylor for The Lord of The Rings
This fic is old. Like it was old when i first discovered it on ffnet (published in 2003). however, i love it to pieces and include it in my yearly lotr reread. it captures the feel of the books so well. It focuses on Pippin's recovery after the Battle of the Black Gate, and the slow reunion of the fellowship.
