not to be an extreme Mike defender (i mean i am-) but i just want to point out that El's whole idea of a romantic relationship comes from tv and we all know how they are portrayed...the moment the guy and the girl confess they're making out and fucking. the amatonormativity in tv is strong, it's also why i had such a hard time coming to terms with me being aroace. when i was younger in my mind relationships=sex/making out because that's what television told me. so El probably thought the same. that now that her and Mike are dating they have to make out all the time. Mike took unhealthy relationships he sees in his life as an example (st*ncy who were kissing all the time) and El took tv romance as an example for their relationship (where there are romantic relationships protrayed as very sexual)
anyways i'm only talking about this because often when people talk about how Mike and El are unhealthy because they only make out all the time they kind of tend to make Mike into some asshole who took advantage of a naive innocent girl who didn't know better and made her think they have to kiss all the time and i just want to point out that they both were just kids and didn't know better and only took things they saw in other relationships as examples. they both are in this situation because of the heteronormativity and amatonormativity in this society so just...maybe let's not make Mike into such a villain...

Call It What You Want To
(soft launching with the bllk boys)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
a / n — i love soft launches and blue lock…so why not combine them?
content — fluff, cutesie stuff, bllk characters x fem! reader, pretty much gn! but i did use ‘she’ so just to be safe, + your faves if you want!!
synopsis — soft launches with the boyfies <3
✿.。. “ nobody’s heard from me for months , ” .。.✿

is NEVER on social media. has accounts of course, but never posts on them. usually the most they do is repost things about soccer on their stories. so when they post these pictures as their first post EVER? it’s inevitable that their fans are going to go insane.
they preferred posting these pictures, neither of your faces showing. you’d both decided to keep your relationship “private but not secret” , if someone were to find out it was you in these photos? so be it. they would never dream of hiding you from the world.
°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・ RIN ITOSHI, barou shouei, sae itoshi, jinpachi ego
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
they don't have many posts, but the ones they do have no less than a million likes each. their fans are adoring, so when they post a new photo, thousands of people get the notification and within seconds the post has 200k likes.
their fans are insane, and that's putting it lightly. they find your account within a minute all by looking at your phone case and finding your account.
the both of you wake up the next morning and find yourselves not only trending on twitter, but also with thousands of edits made of the two of you. AND A SHIP NAME??
so much for a soft launch.

a chronic poster. i mean literal photo dumps GALORE. they had many fans, obviously with them being a famous soccer player, but also because of how 'real' they were. they would constantly post stories in the bathroom and ranting- all that fun stuff.
their fans had no indication that they'd been in a relationship at all. which was strange because due to their openness, their fans began thinking they deserved to know every little thing about them.
they just wanted to keep you their little secret for a little bit, so they posted these very inconspicuous photos and had the internet up in a frenzy.
soccerluver44: WHO IS THIS??
urmomshouse: no way
and thousands of comments just like that flooded their inbox.
this was fun, they thought. maybe for a little while longer they'd keep you their little secret. the thought crossed their mind as they pressed the 'your story' button, posting a photo of them sitting on the sink with your arms wrapped around them.

not a constant poster, but definitely has a social media presence. they mostly post about their upcoming games and where to get tickets and watch. they definitely don't post about their personal life, so when people log on and see a soft launch??
the world goes into a state of shock. the comments are limited, so no one besides people they follow back (most of which who already knew of the relationship) are allowed to comment.
they did this on purpose. they saw no point in having strangers question them when the caption said it all
" spoiling my girl <3 "

took myself to the computer version to do this since there's a photo limit on the mobile version.
hope yall liked it though, i've never done anything like this before!!
likes, comments, and reblogs are appreciated!!

Hi could you write some angst about a deeply insecure reader who hates her appearance and is sort of friends with Elena and everyone(pushed to the side kind of relationship)but when klaus comes around it’s clear that she has a crush but believes he’s out of her league then klaus uses it to his advantage by showing an interest in her for information and helps her with her self worth.klaus then starts to develop feelings for her but then it’s revealed that he was just manipulating her and reader is devastated and utterly humiliated and it sets her back to how she was before him.(sorry if that was a really long explanation,you can decide the ending)thanks I love your writing btw

Real
Growing up in Mystic Falls is a bizarre experience.
There were town events almost every month where you had to dress up and act better than everyone, parents basically had a competition over who had the prettiest daughters or the most handsome sons.
Not my parents.
They didn't think I was good enough to even pretend that I could compete. I was told my worth from a young age and became more aware of it with time. When your own parents don't think you're good enough it's sort of an eye-opener if you will.
It didn't help that everyone in this town seemed to be born into modelling.
Somehow I was lucky enough to wind up 'friends' with people like Elena, Caroline and Bonnie but I knew I didn't belong with them. Somehow they were gorgeous enough to get whatever they wanted.
Sometimes I wondered if everyone else at the age of 17 looked like them and I was behind or if somewhere, I was above average. I doubted it. A lot.
Occasionally I would look at a mirror and think that I wasn't even that bad to look at. There was nothing particularly ugly about me, there just wasn't anything special. I looked plain in a way, bland and forgettable.
I was very forgettable actually. My 'friends' made that abundantly clear throughout the years when they would go out without me or forget to ask if I also wanted something or liked something.
Somehow I was of no value to them. Perhaps I was simply there to amplify their beauty. Like a DUFF. I was definitely the DUFF.
Damon actually told me that I was once, after Tyler had made the joke and Damon asked what it meant. Even though I already knew it to be true, to be told it was much worse.
You could sort of tell everyone else was thinking it, especially when I was stood beside Caroline.
Stefan was the only one who was nice but I wasn't sure if it was out of pity or just because that was who he was. Then again, I'd rather just not know.
So I tried my best to keep in the background, avoid attention and stay out the way.
Even with all the vampire and werewolf drama that took course, I kept myself quiet and to the side. Strangely it was Katherine who was kind to me, whether she had an ulterior motif I'm not so sure anymore but she never hurt me in the time she was there. Neither did Elijah when he came to town, he was polite to everyone but it was obvious that my presence was irrelevant to him.
And then of course, Klaus arrived.
I didn't officially meet him until the senior prank night, he sort of just threw to the side and told me to keep my mouth closed and not to bother running because he'd just kill me. Part of me thought about running anyway so he would just end it but I didn't.
Klaus dragged me by my wrist into his car, told me to keep quiet while he drove Elena to the hospital. For whatever reason he brought me along and left me in the car as he went to drain her of blood for his hybrids. I did as told: sat silently and waited.
He came back out and spoke to Damon for a moment, I saw them glance over in my direction only for Damon to laugh and smirk. I sighed to myself and got out the car. It was clear that Klaus thought I could be a good pawn but was surly mistaken and Damon told him to do whatever he wanted to me. In response I walked home, neither noticed so it was fine.
A week or so later he came back, crashed homecoming or something? I dunno, I wasn't there but I was told about it the next day via a stroppy Caroline.
It was that same day that he came and sat beside me at the grill. I ignored him for the most part, confused by his attempt at what I could only guess was flirting? I wasn't really sure. I think he could tell.
"Not easily impressed are you love?" he questioned as he leant forward, uncomfortably close. I sort of just looked at him, still unsure to what he wanted. A smirk pulled at the end of his lips and his hand lifted, his fingers wrapping around a piece of my hair making frown and pull away abruptly. Without hesitation I stood up and spun on my heel, going to leave. His laugh followed me and a hand grabbed my waits, it was stange.
"Calm down love, It's not like I was going to rip it out, I just wondered what it felt like" he chuckled, pulling my back flush against his front making me tense and squirm.
"It feels like hair" I stated simply "Now get off" I grunted, shoving my elbow into his side to make him let go. I kept walking, keeping my eyes on the ground.
The next time I saw him he apologised for the previous encounter which again, i didn't understand but there was no point in questioning and arguing so I just accepted it and tried to leave but he asked if I'd stay for one drink, he asked so nicely and he smiled. I was stupid enough to think it was genuine and accepted.
Looking back it was pretty obvious that this was a game for him or a trap, whatever you want to label it but in the moment I ignored what was right in my face. Deep down I knew it was all a joke of sorts really.
But no boy, let alone a man had shown me this sort of attention and the soft fluttering it made me feel had me staying for far too long. I listened to his little stories and asked a range of questions as the drinks kept coming. He asked a couple about me but i gave relatively vague answers. There wasn't much I had to give him on me, I wasn't up for a pity party about friends and I didn't really fancy talking about my shitty parents either. I think Klaus picked up on the fact that I didn't really want to talk about me and eventually gave up with it.
It was late when I realised I needed to get home and he offered to take me which I admit made me wary. I didn't want him to kidnap me and think I'd be any good as leverage again, though I guess Damon made that pretty clear already. I decided to just walk home which he eventually accepted and got into his car.
Walking by myself probably wasn't my best option after drinking so much in one go but I made it home with minimal stumbling. My mother shook her head when she saw me and asked what was wrong with me. When she realised I had been drinking her mind jumped to two very different conclusions. The first being that I was being a slut which was ironic as in the past she'd made it clear that no guy would want to sleep with me, and the second being that I had taken pills to kill myself.
Listening to her drastic thinking made me wonder what kind of pills she was on but I didn't question it and waited for my father to come and take her to bed, telling her to just ignore me. Then I proceeded to make my way to the bathroom, getting changed and washing my face before going to my bed.
My phone dinged making me sigh, thinking it was Elena asking me to help her with something dumb and life threatening however much to my surprise it was Klaus. A smile involuntarily spread across my face and we messaged back and forth before he told me to rest.
The following few days he would just check in. Not too much but he also made it clear that he hadn't forgotten me which was all I had ever truly wanted from someone. To be acknowledged at the very least.
Of course I didn't tell the others that he had been talking to me, besides they didn't ask so I didn't see why I should. I guess I just wanted something for myself.
I wasn't completely stupid. I always had the feeling that he was using me, especially towards the start...but he was just so wonderful with his words and his ways.
When he began to make and buy sweet gifts and claim they were tokens of his affection, I couldn't help the blush on my face. When he would find a way to have his skin against mine, or how he would pick up my hand and gently tug my along. Somehow we always seemed to end up somewhere for food, and he would always refuse to let me pay.
Something about him was so enticing, addictive if you will.
He began to make me feel a certain way. He made me warm and happy. His touch was so soft, it made me feel like I was buzzing. i was stupid for thinking he could feel the same way about me.
I had been so scared to admit my feelings.
He had assured me that he would never push me to.
He told me that he liked me, that he didn't want me to be frightened of him or nervous around him. "Not unless it's the sort of nervous that puts butterflies in your stomach sweetheart" he had teased and my cheeks had glowed red.
Over the space of months his presence never lessoned. He always made time to see me, and speak with me. I found myself longing for his voice, his touch.
On days where he was too busy at home, he would urge me to come over. I would spend as long as I possibly could with him, a few times I even stayed over but he had slept on top of the duvet so that I would feel comfortable.
This had gone on for a small while until he actually said the words 'I love you'.
Perhaps I was just so happy to actually hear those words. Maybe I believed them to be true, real. Or I just saw what I wanted to see, heard what I wanted to hear and ignored the rest.
The time I gave myself to him used to make my smile and blush. Now it just makes me feel dirty, humiliated and embarrassed.
Knowing that he could and has had his hands all over my body, his lips and eyes. In the moment I felt like a goddess, probably because that’s what he told me I was. The memory of him inside me haunts me. I had thought it to be such a beautiful experience, romantic and personal.
I wish I could say that I had slept with him only once but as the months went by we would share intimacy often.
I had even told him that I loved him, so many times and I meant it for all of them.
So you should understand why it was so hard to accidentally hear him tell his sister that he had been compelling me for any information on the others.
It had felt as though my heart had stopped when the words hit my ears and tears already made my eyes burn. I heard a weak laugh and turned my head to see Damon, strung up by chains whilst bleeding all over, looking straight back at me.
“Y/n…” I heard Klaus’s voice, his tone one of panic or maybe it was just surprise. He probably didn’t want me to know of his routine. Damon only rolled his eyes and gave me look,
“You didn’t…think it was real, right?” He coughed, a cruel smile on his face.
His words just made me quieter. They made me think. Why did I think it was real?
My eyes slowly lifted to meet Klaus’s. I could see and feel Rebekah looking at me, everyone was silent. Even Damon shut up for a second. I think maybe he was expecting me to say something but I didn’t really have anything to tell him.
As awful as it all made me feel, and even with the amount of emotions swallowing me, I felt more disappointed in myself than I did him.
My right hand went to my left arm, pinching my skin through my jumper in some sort of hope that I’d wake up from some stupid nightmare but it didn’t work.
The first tear fell from my eye and I sniffed to keep the other ones from coming.
Klaus just looked at me, I couldn’t tell what he was thinking, I didn’t want to know either. I could just guess anyway.
So without a word I just turned around and left, walking quickly back out the door before breaking into a sprint in the direction of my house. I could feel the mascara running down my face, ruining the foundation I had only recently started wearing, for Klaus’s benefit.
My hands wiped at the tears as I pushed my from door shut behind me and went upstairs, blocking out the annoyed voices of my parents and locking myself in my room.
It was only once I was in the shower that I was flooded with memories. That I remembered all the things I had done with him. By the time I stepped out of the bathroom my skin was scrubbed raw in an attempt to wash his touch away. Even the slightest touch made me feel as though my body was burning, stinging with pain but I would have rather felt that every day than have to realise Klaus had been using me for over a year now.
I was curled in my bed, hidden under the blankets and surrounded by the dark as I let every comment not matter how small or petty play back through my mind.
I wasn’t even sure who to be upset with. I chose myself.
Klaus must’ve known I was an easy target. Desperate. I wonder how much he’s had me tell him. To be fair I knew more than you’d expect about what was going on. I had gotten good at observing and overhearing so I still knew what was going on, even when spending so much time with Klaus himself.
I also wondered what else he had compelled me to do. I hoped he wouldn’t do anything other than ask questions but I couldn’t help that fear creep inside me. It made me sick to my stomach, and then I wondered if he would just wait to compel me again so that I could continue to be his information feeder.
The idea made my fingers dig into my arm, bruising the skin purple but I wouldn’t stop. I only did so that I could go get some vervain that I kept downstairs in one of the cupboards at the back. I was reaching for the little glass bottle when I heard a door close. I spun around quickly to see Klaus in the doorway of my kitchen. My hand clutched onto the vervain tightly and I noticed his eyes glance at it briefly. His hands went up as if to show no harm but there was no way I would believe that meant a thing.
“Sweetheart- listen to me..” he began and I let out a breathless laugh
“Get out” I whispered making him sigh and frown as though he had the audacity to be upset or annoyed.
“Y/n..”
“No Klaus. I’m fucking serious, get out.” I told him, my eyes watering again. I let out an involuntary whimper when he stepped forward making him stop and stand still.
“I never meant for you to know that” he whispered and I frowned, swiping a tear away.
“Sorry I ruined your plan” I mumble, exhausted.
“No- no I didn’t mean it like that- I meant that-“
“Klaus it’s fine” I murmur, avoiding his eye, “It’s fine, I get it. You needed to know what was happening, you got to be two steps ahead. I’d appreciate if you just found someone else now please”
I could feel his stare on me, it make my skin itch and I just needed him to go. I could feel my hand getting clammy as I held onto the bottle.
“I haven’t compelled you in such a long time” he muttered, as though maybe that made it better. “I used to, but I truly have fallen for you Y/n. I love-“
“Please get out” I cut him off, my spare hand resting on my forehead to cover my eyes.
“I love you”
“No you don’t” I cry, “you wouldn’t do this to someone you love. I know you don’t love me. You never have and you never could. You’re just pretending again so I’ll let you control me, I don’t like it” I whimper, tears streaming again. I could hear him getting closer but I was already against the counter and I couldn’t out run him. There was no point in trying.
“Sweetheart, I’ll never use you again-“ he tried to argue but I couldn’t listen to it.
“I really, really need you to leave. Please Klaus just get out, I can’t stand you” I tell him honestly and for a second as I look up at him, he looks almost sad but I have to assume it’s still apart of his act.
“You- you’re not going to do anything…anything harmful are you? To yourself, I mean.” He asked and I felt a wave of embarrassment wash over me. I should never have told him that I’d had those thoughts or feelings once. I shouldn’t have ever said a word to him.
“No…now go away” I whisper, my hands trembling as I stared at the ground, listening to his footsteps eventually get further away.
I knew there was no way I could sleep, he was probably still outside my house. Waiting.
I wasn’t sure what he was waiting for but I could him there.
I had no idea what I was going to do.

A thought — Ballister and Ambrosius’s relationship probably wasn’t public in the movie until the end. They probably weren’t secretive about it, given how Todd (someone neither of them like or would confide in) was clearly antagonistic to Ambrosius after Ballister’s jailbreak, but even then that just might be because their connection was well known — they liked each other more than any of the knights liked them, most being neutral overall to Ambrosius and outright bullies to Ballister. No one in the public seems to know about them
Media perception is a reoccurring factor in the movie, with the opening scene giving exposition in the form of a news cast. During it, Ballister is shown to be controversial, with a there being a few comments questioning the Queen’s choices related to him. Ambrosius is also brought up as someone everyone’s looking forward to seeing officially knighted, with no one questioning his relationship with Ballister or even bringing it up
While everyone is fearing and hating Ballister after the Queen dies, Ambrosius is still popular among the masses — people stop him in the streets to get his autograph. Nimona, who admittedly probably didn’t do much digging into Ballister beyond the initial news reports on the Queen’s deaths, seemed surprised that Ballister and Ambrosius had a connection. She even had an “ohhhhhh” moment after picking up on their vibe the first time they saw each other post-arm chop (and yeah she initially calls Ambrosius Ballister’s nemesis, but she clearly clocks that something romantic was going on given the “arm chopping is not a love language!” comment). She also asks if he wants to die in a (literal) closet, which like. Y’all.
Before the Queen’s death, all their PDA is in private (on the catwalk) or subtly around other knights (helping each other put on their armor with lots of heart eyes and lingering hands). Otherwise, their interactions are those of Two People Who Are Close but aren’t necessarily explicitly romantic (Ambrosius wanting to throw hands on Ballister’s behalf, teasing each other, Ambrosius cheering with the crowd). Granted, there wasn’t a lot of screen time for them to just be happy before Everything Went Wrong.
We can’t really judge whether they were private from their interactions after the Queen’s death, since most are focused on a “so this traumatic thing happened and I don’t know where we stands right now” vibe or have them just fighting. The three times Ambrosius says he loves Ballister, one was just the two of them on the catwalk, one was in a mental rant and not actually out loud, and one was while they were trying to hide their identities. Ballister continues to defend Ambrosius, saying he’d believe them if they could just talk and that the arm thing is just “complicated,” “part of their training, up until Ambrosius outright tries to arrest them (which might as well be a breakup without saying “we’re breaking up”).
In the comic, the Director says she knew about their relationship and that she disapproved. Given how much she manipulates things, it wouldn’t surprise me if she knew in the movie, and encouraged them to downplay things at least — “you should keep your private lives private so you don’t taint your public images/yes we support you, obviously, but you’re here to protect the people, not show off to them/you don’t want to overshadow things with more controversy, wait a few years until after you’re knighted/what if this is just a phase, it would be a mess to clean up if you go public now/people will talk if they hear Gloreth’s only current descendant, a promising young man, is being courted by someone they aren’t certain about who comes from nothing and can’t pass your genes on/you have each other, shouldn’t that be enough?/etc.”
We don’t see them be in a relationship publicly until after the wall — the symbol of fear of the unknown, systematic abuse and oppression, refusal to learn and grow, and let’s be real homophobia/transphobia — comes down and the Director — the one going to murderous extremes out of fear of change — is dead
I dunno. This movie is a large celebration of being queer, but it’s also about how queer people are demonized by society to the point of everyone suffering. Ambrosius is the model minority everyone loves but no one knows because all eyes are on him; Ballister is both tokenized and targeted from the moment the public meets him, having to prove himself over and over until the public unquestionably turns on him entirely; and Nimona is called a monster for just being herself. All three already had to hide who they really were. I’m not 100% sure if Ballister and Ambrosius were out or not about being together, but it’s not a stretch to see, and it fits in with the themes/arcs of this movie

nanami is a punctual man. he absolutely hates working overtime and wants to go home as soon as he can. nonetheless, he can make an exception for you.
on the days you need help finishing a long report or exercising an annoying curse, he doesn't mind his clock beeping, signaling work hours are done. he's willing to spend as many minutes as you need there so he can walk you back home.
it's cute how he always asks to stop by a specific bakery and buys the same type of bread everyday. when asked why he loves it so much, he simply shrugs and says 'it's always fresh and soft.' after making you taste it once, he always insists on buying one for you too if you like it. having something you both like makes him happy, allowing you to see the rare smile of him.
when he does smile, you know it's real. he shows great interest in every word that leaves your mouth and replies or shows approval in your sentences. he loves seeing you happy, having someone that you agree with makes you smile from ear to ear. he just wishes he could plant a soft kiss on your grinning mouth.
you're both aware that this, whatever's going on between the two of you is way beyond friendship but neither of you decide to comment on it or give it a name. this is comfortable as it is and you're scared of the danger a certified relationship would bring. he can't risk losing you, especially not because of him. he swore to protect you from any harm the second he first saw you, your delicate body. he knows you're powerful enough to protect yourself but in his eyes you're a little dainty fairy, something so fragile he could hurt you with a single touch.
that's why he's always so careful with you. he doesn't let anyone look at you the wrong way, let alone touch you. it was the reason he started walking you home, you live on his way so it's a win-win for him. he's afraid admitting his feelings will ruin what's between you two, so he simply goes on with his life, knowing you'd push him away unless you wanted him close to you too.
the day you can no longer stand satoru's teasing, you finally go up to him and tell him how you feel. he chuckles after seeing how scared you look to tell him, not even making eye contact as you speak. the ground or your shoes look really interesting. he lifts his hand slowly and holds your chin, trying to see if he's making you uncomfortable. when you show no sign of distress, he lifts your head up and gazes into your eyes.
the loving smile on his face soon matches your blushing cheeks and when he leans down to peck your lips he can feel how hot your face is burning, excited and nervous because of him. you still don't talk about naming it, as it kind of always had a name in your heads all along. you don't announce anything verbally but the no longer so secret looks stealed during meetings or lunch and the hugs shared, the hand-holdings seen by your coworkers tells them everything they need to know and gives them a reason to ask you about when you're having your double date with them.

wanna be yours - clarisse la rue x fem! child of athena oc
A/N: this is a rush draft. i’m tired. just take it as it is. i mentally can’t fix it right now because i need sleep. also, this might be multiple parts but idk yet. okay goodnight!
warnings: implied mention of sex, kissing, fighting, teasing, uh i can’t think of anything else, but lmk if i missed any please!!
_______
It was a mutual understanding between you and Clarisse, one that neither of you spoke about. Why should anything be said when you both were tangled up in hot kisses, hands roaming throughout each other’s bodies like lost explorers whenever you saw each other. There was hardly any room for talking in your guys’ heated exchanges, and even if there was room for talking, neither of you knew how to bring it up.
However, you figured maybe something should be said sooner than later. Clarisse was starting to become more frequent with her midnight visits to your cabin, more jealous whenever someone flirted with you, more riskier in public.
In fact, just a few days ago, one of her half-siblings almost caught you two making out in her bed in broad daylight. You took it seriously, honoring the understanding you two had, whereas Clarisse muttered careless statements about being caught as she kissed your lips again.
You figured there was something there now. You had always sensed it between the stolen glances, the slight finger touches when Clarisse walked past you, the way your body simply melted into hers. The unspoken attraction was there. Maybe it was real. You could only hope it was.
A part of you started to hate running and sneaking around just to keep this “relationship” - your secret affair - a secret. But, you would tell yourself otherwise, because you never knew what was truly going on inside that beautiful head of hers.
———
Capture the flag was one of those games that you couldn’t stand to miss out on. The intensity, the atmosphere, the energy between all players. You loved the game, especially since it involved strategizing.
You lay low among the tall grass of the forest, eyes scanning your surroundings, ears listening for any sounds, the grip on your dagger was tight. Your breathing was steady, almost quiet, because you were afraid that someone could hear it.
A twig branch snaps. You bring your dagger closer to your chest, waiting to attack whoever was incoming. Your breath hitches once you noticed the red plumes emerge from behind the trees.
Stay low, be ready, attack when they’re near. That’s how you rolled.
Once they were close enough, you lunged first, making sure to tackle your opponent to the ground. However, it’s a battle of brute strength. Your opponent was resistant, determined to not lose this sort of wrestling match going on between you two.
As you’re both rolling back and forth on the ground, you feel your opponent grab your dagger and toss it somewhere out of your reach. They shift their body weight so that they’re on top of you on the ground, grabbing your wrists and pinning them above your head. You squirm, trying to slip out of their grip, but it’s tight and firm on you.
“You know, for a child of Athena, I was expecting a bit more of a challenge,” a husky yet familiar voice said. You could recognize that egoistic tone anywhere.
Clarisse removes her helmet, still keeping one hand on your wrists, her curls perfectly intact as if you guys didn’t just spend almost five minutes wrestling each other. She looked down and a sly smug came across her face once she realized you were the one beneath her.
“Well, hello, angel,” Clarisse says, bringing her face closer to yours. “Been avoiding me much? Haven’t seen you in this position in a while.”
You scoff. “As if I have ever been beneath you.”
“You were last week Saturday,” the Ares girl reminds you. You bite your lip, knowing it’s the truth.
An evil look is in her eyes as she guides them down your body. You feel her gaze on you, admiring you in this position. Her face mere inches away from yours once she made eye contact with you again. Clarisse’s free hand has moved to your waist, causing you to gasp slightly at the touch.
Every part in your body began to crave her, craving her lips on yours, craving her hands on your body, craving her. Your body is practically screaming for her. You could tell she felt it too. The glint in her eyes was all too familiar to you.
As Clairsse’s face slowly leans into yours, the grip on your hands begin to loosen, allowing you to slip out from under them. She’s nervous, it seems, as she hesitantly licked her lips. You wrap your arms around her neck, pulling her closer, her lips lightly grazing yours-
Your brain stops you from kissing her. In fact, it reminds you that you still have a game to win - and as much as you want to kiss the Ares girl, winning came first. Surely, she’d understand that.
You use your weight against hers, pushing her off of you and slamming her onto the ground with you now on top. The look on Clarisse’s face showed surprise before it turned into frustration.
Clarisse got teased badly by you. But, you teased yourself as well.
After grabbing two blue bands from your pocket, you tied one around each of her wrists, now implying that she was a prisoner of your team.
“Got you, La Rue,” you cheekily say, hovering your lips over hers once again.
———
Clarisse was pissed at you, maybe a bit beyond that.
The entire time at dinner, all she could do was glare at you. One of your half-siblings noticed and stated that if looks could kill, you would’ve been dead the moment you walked into the mess hall. You shook it off, pretending that the Ares girl was just mad that she was taken prisoner for the first time ever, but you knew it wasn’t entirely that.
A part of you felt guilty. Actually, no, you as a whole felt guilty for playing Clarisse like that earlier. As much as you loved your win later on, you also wanted Clarisse in that moment. If you were able to have both, you would’ve.
Later on that night, you waited outside the Ares cabin, making sure to stay hidden in case Chiron was doing rounds tonight. You sat for what seemed like forever until Clarisse finally came out.
You wasted no time. You grabbed her hand and pulled her to the side, instantly pressing a quick kiss on her lips which caught her off guard.
Clarisse’s eyes were wide in shock, trying to comprehend what just happened.
“I’m sorry, Clarisse,” you apologized, a hint of nervousness in your tone as you weren’t sure how she was going to react. “I-I shouldn’t have done that to you. It was rude, and I want you to know that… I really wanted to kiss you too, but then I reminded myself that we were in the game and I didn’t want to lose. So, I made that stupid decision, and I’m so sorry-“
Clarisse smashed her lips onto yours, causing you to stumble a little bit.
“You think too much. No wonder you’re Athena’s daughter,” she mumbled between your lips before pulling you back in.
It was like a million fireworks being set off at once. That burning feeling of desire in both of your chests was now gone. Clarisse’s hands made her way down to your waist and she held you firmly, as if she never wanted to let you go. You felt your body melt into her touch, wrapping your arms around her neck to pull you closer, even though the space between you two was already minimal enough.
You pulled apart from each other, both out of breath. Clarisse looks at you and smiles before pulling you into a warm embrace.
Despite her rough, aggressive, almost murderous side to her, Clarisse was sweet, gentle, and actually super affectionate.
This side of her was only reserved for you, and you quite liked it that way.
“Tease me like that ever again, and I’ll make sure you taste my blade,” Clarisse mutters into your ear before placing a kiss on your cheek.
“Put a single scratch and I’ll make sure that you’ll never get to see me again,” you whisper in a serious tone. “I mean it, Clarisse.”
Clarisse nods her head. You find it cute that she almost always agrees to everything you say, as if she’s a puppy.
The sound of Chiron’s hooves could be heard just around the corner. As much as you two wish you could have this moment together for just a little longer, dish and stall duty didn’t sound pleasant to either of you.
Clarisse pulls you in for another quick kiss, both on your lips and your hand. “I’ll see you tomorrow, angel.”

Hugh Jackman wolverine so that = him being tall as hell.

⋆𐙚₊˚⊹♡
To you. The idea of love at first sight was stupid, it wasn’t real and neither was soulmates. who would want to be bound with someone for their life—there was very few who you believed were soulmates and that was mainly jean and scott, they’d practically been inseparable
you could say it’s jealousy, and it’s not because you’re in love with one of them but rather because you wanted what they had. no matter what they were always mature about their relationship and always talked to each other; you had met logan after he was brought from the crash his personality was brash and off putting but his love for rogue is what made you want to get to know him more, it made your heart feel fuzzy..but in the best way possible
love at first sight was something you didn’t believe in but watching logan fight and risk his life to save this little girl he had just met turned something in you
and suddenly you believed in the thought of love and first sight moreover you believed in soulmates, he had slowly taken over your mind. he took over your daily life, it was embarrassing. you had never been this bad with anyone you had talked to
the sound of your heart beating roughly against your ribcage; the sight of him made your heart go a little insane. the small conversations you had, the littlest touches those were the ones that lingered those were the ones that stuck with you. you hated him you hated how he made you feel like you were going to explode like you wanted to scream into a pillow at night. you were in desperate need of advice, you had stormed yourself right to the lab.
“jean!!” your voice had boomed throughout the lab, jean had been in your mind lately she just hadn’t expected you to catch onto those feelings so quick. you were pretty stubborn, “when did you realize you were in love with scott..?” the loud call of her name to the normal tone yet desperate question made her have some whiplash
“when? i couldn’t tell you that” jean thought back to her first time meeting scott and their bond they had. “if this is about you and logan—”
yours brows furrowed “had you been reading my mind.” “[name] even without reading your mind your stares at him were enough to tell me everything”
jeans heels clicked against the floor as she put her hand on your shoulder, “i can’t tell you when or how i found out i liked scott but when you know you know” her eyes were soft. the question you had been trying to look for so long was right in front of you. you had always known you knew.
the minute you saw logan hold rogue so dear to him sacrificing his healing abilities so she would be able to stay alive was when you knew. “oh my god.”
But to logan, that was so much harder and took so much longer to simply admit he had fallen for you, he was 200 years old he was too old for you.
logan also had a gruff to him he always held people at a distance, he didn’t want to hold someone too close. he didn’t want to lose another person who he sought was important to him so he held you from a distance, it didn’t take much for you to work your way into his life
the xmen had treated him much like an outcast maybe much to his fault for being such a prick. you never let that get to you, a ray of sunshine that was just too nice—you actually cared about rogue, you wanted to help him you wanted to save rogue. maybe that’s when he started to grow somewhat fond of you
that was up to question he never took that as the sign, he’d saw you as a friend from that someone who was just nice to everyone. rogue had grown so fond of you she had always mentioned you in their conversations, it warmed his heart. to see rogue go from someone who held herself at a distance to being so comfortable in her own way especially with the help of you
logan had a smile on his face, one that could be missed. he had started to think about you a lot, your smell filled his nose. it was almost comfortable in such a way it’s as if your presence was able to comfort him, he knew you were there he knew you were safe; he’d catch himself staring at you more, lingering his touches a little more, he had this urge to hold you near him
“the way you look at [name] it’s different logan” rogue came from behind giving him quiet a scare, “jesus kid..” he grumbled. he couldn’t even notice that rogue was behind him at all,
rogue let out a small laugh putting her hand on his shoulder “you’re so in love with her, it’s sickening” she teased. logan refused to admit to no such thing “am not, you’re thinking nonsense kid”
“refusing to admit anything classic logan. when you have your ‘when you know you know’ moment do thank me”
his brow furrowed, a gruff smile as rogue had been right “don’t you have a class to be heading too?”
rogue rolled her eyes leaving him alone to head to class. logan had felt like his mind was going to explode, he needed a drink although it was school hours he opted for a dr pepper. “logan..!” your voice cause his head to turn behind in a rapid speed. “shit you scared me” he didn’t know why he lied he was just too excited to see you
a laugh escaped your lips, “did ya need something bub?” he put the dr pepper up to his lips sipping the carbonated beverage—“oh no no, i was just coming this way and i saw you” the damn smile you always wore, he could feel his shoulders relax his whole body relax
your scent filling up the room, honey, vanilla, and the smell of coffee you had always had with you. it was a comforting smell; the sun beamed through the windows casting this angelic look onto you, you were some kind of angel that saw the good in him and never judged him too harshly. his heart felt like it was beating harshly against his chest, he didn’t know how long he had been staring at you but it felt like hours. you were just so beautiful, it was a beauty in all his 200 years of living that was different
“logan” you waved your hand in front of his face, he seemed zoned out, “you still there..?” your face wore with concern. he laughed “yeah i’m still here bub”
“i was going to make some cookies since the kids really seemed to like them..” he watched your movement, the way you spoke so highly of the kids the way you held yourself to a standard never faulting to that. it made him feel weak, if he had been completely honest he hadn’t been listening to a single thing you said. he was just in a different world
a different world admiring you, he wore a small smile “so this is what she meant by when you know you know..”

Surprise husbands + "How are you real?" ; requested by @vehan-tikkun-olam-and-stuff!
They may not have planned to get married, or even wanted it all too much at the beginning, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t going to treat each other right. It was rough going, with both of them coming out of relationships and having secret identities, but time had softened the hurt feelings and allowed them to actually get to know each other.
And Danny, Duke has discovered, is a really good husband.
Neither of them ever saw themselves as married at 20, but sometimes life throws horrible curses at you and the embodiment of balance and life and death swoops in to save your life. Via marriage.
His life is weird, okay? Duke has made his peace with it.
The thing is, if they had met naturally and started off as friends, Duke could see himself falling for Danny and asking him to marry him in a far off future. Instead, they’re doing everything backwards: married, then going on dates to know each other, and finally feeling close enough to be friends.
It helps that Danny does his best to communicate and that helps Duke find the words he needs as well.
He’s sweet, too, so kind and doting and affectionate. Like a really lovable cat, honestly. Duke’s never been cuddled so much in his life and he’s loving every minute of it.
He… might be falling in love with his husband. What a revelation.
“Duke?”
He blinks, looking up from his half-empty plate, pulled out of his thoughts suddenly. Tim and Dick stare at him, concerned, and he realizes he’s missed the entire conversation because he was so preoccupied thinking about Danny. In his defense, it was their one year anniversary the night before and Danny had kissed him for the first time after a date night spent playing video games and talking shit about their respective rogues.
Tim snaps a finger in front of his face, and Duke startles. He got distracted by his Danny Thoughts again.
“Yeah, what’s up?”
“You okay? You’ve been out of it all day,” Dick says, clearly concerned.
“Oh, uh, yeah, it’s all good. Just… adjusting.”
“To what? Did something happen?”
Duke shrugs, scooping up another forkful of pasta to shove in his mouth. “Yeah, I… this is going to sound kind of stupid, but I think I’m in love with my husband.”
Tim, taking an ill-timed drink, chokes and spits out his Zesti. Dick springs back, trying to get out of the spray zone but doesn’t move far, shocked still by Duke’s words.
“Oh, yeah,” Duke realizes, “I didn’t tell you guys, did I?”
“You’re married?!” Tim shrieks as Dick clutches at his chest, eyes wide.
“You didn’t tell me?” Dick asks, offended.
“Seriously? That’s what you focus on?”
Duke smiles as they begin to bicker. They do it constantly, but this time it’s halfhearted, as if they’re just going through the motions of something familiar to distract themselves from the bomb he’s dropped on them.
In all fairness, Duke did forget that he didn’t tell them that he’s married to Danny. He’s also only mentioned Danny once or twice and heavily implied that Danny was just a classmate at GCU. And then forgot that he didn’t tell them, assuming that they’d figure it out eventually being Batman trained detectives, after all.
Well.
Oops.
Clearly that is not the case. Duke hurries to finish his pasta before Tim and Dick finish their joint freak out and get their senses back together enough to interrogate him. He can’t escape it, but he refuses to have this discussion with an empty stomach.
He just barely manages to scrape the last mouthful off the plate when his fork is being yanked out of his hands. Tim and Dick close in on him, standing to either side of him, trapping him in place, and look at him with knife-sharp smiles.
Here we go, Duke thinks tiredly, and resigns himself to clearing up this misunderstanding.
Somehow, he manages to explain the situation (I got cursed, he saved my life, we ended up married because magic is bullshit, he treats me so well) and Tim and Dick both agree to not hunt down Danny to show him the wrath of older brothers on one condition: Danny has to join them for a family dinner.
“Don’t worry, we’ll catch everyone up on your… situation,” Dick says, pulling on his jacket to head out. Tim is already on his phone, no doubt telling someone already.
“Great,” Duke says, unenthused. “You’ll also be answering all the questions because I’m not in the mood. So if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to figure out a day that works for all of us, and then I’m going to kick my husband’s ass in Mario Cart.”
He walks out the door, grinning as he hears them scramble after him, then twists the ring on his finger (not a wedding ring, but a magic portal making gift) and steps into the portal. It closes quietly behind him, leaving him in Danny’s lair, a comfortable, spacious house with high ceilings and little bits of his personality scattered about. There are soft rugs with geometric patterns on them, star maps on the wall, stained glass windows that throw colors across the floor, and a giant couch and pillow pit in the living room.
Danny’s asleep in it, curled up and looking completely at peace. Duke toes off his shoes and carefully makes his way over, footsteps silent so he doesn’t wake him up, all plans of Mario Cart fading away instantly.
Danny doesn’t get much sleep, with the stress of school and an internship and ghost fights to worry about. It’s why his lair is so quiet and comfortable; it’s what he needs, and he doesn’t let anyone else in without invitation, rare as it is.
Duke is allowed to waltz right in thanks to the ring Danny gave him. It never stops making him feel overwhelmed by how much trust Danny puts in him to allow him unlimited access to what is his only true sanctuary, letting his lair be a place of safety and respite for Duke as well.
He crawls into the pillow pit, There’s no way to do this without waking Danny up since he can’t fly, so he isn’t surprised to see Danny blink his eyes open, still looking soft and content. He smiles when he sees Duke, reaching a hand out to him that Duke gladly takes, bringing it up to his mouth to kiss his palm.
Sitting up, Danny tilts his head up in a silent request. Duke happily obliges, still reeling over the fact that he’s allowed to do this! He can kiss his husband whenever he wants!
Yeah, he’s going to be riding that high for a while.
“Hey,” Danny murmurs, sleepy and quietly pleased to see him.
“Hi honey,” Duke returns fondly, “Have a nice nap?”
Danny nods, leaning into Duke and closing his eyes again. “Mhm. How long are you staying? I wanna cuddle.”
“I got nothing going on today. I’m all yours, baby.”
“C’mon,” Danny tries to tug him down. Duke goes slowly, covering Danny’s body with his own, but holds himself with one hand before he blankets his husband completely.
“Wait. There’s something we need to talk about.”
Immediately, the sleepy haze is fading from Danny’s eyes, leaving him alert. “What’s up? Is something wrong?”
“Not really? You know how we agreed to keep our marriage a secret until we weren’t in danger anymore and all those cultists and sorcerers were taken care of?”
“...Yes?”
“Well.” Duke sucks in a breath and offers a bashful smile. “Guess who forgot to tell people we were married after that whole mess was dealt with?”
The nervousness clears from Danny’s gaze as he stares up at Duke with incredulous amusement. “No. No way.”
“Yeah. Kinda dropped a bomb on them and they started freaking out over me being married. Anyways, they want you to come to dinner?”
“When?”
Duke leans back, sitting on his heels. “Let me check.” He pulls out his phone and sends a quick text to the group chat asking for a day they could have a family meal to meet his husband.
His phone is bombarded with texts and calls immediately until Barbara, bless her entire soul, forcibly mutes all of them and puts in a poll with a few dates, setting the poll to close in 24 hours.
“Okay, well, they’re deciding now, but probably soon.”
Danny nods. “Alright. I know these aren’t normal circumstances at all, but I’m so excited to meet the Bats.”
“You do not mean that after hearing all my stories about them.”
“No, I do!” Danny laughs, surging up to wrap his arms around Duke and pull him back down to lay among the giant pillows with him. “They sound nice!”
“The Bats sound nice?!” Duke repeats in horror. “Did you hit your head?”
“They do sound nice! You talk about them so fondly, and yeah they have problems and are dysfunctional, but they’re heroes. Of course they have problems. Even with all their baggage, they’re kind. And you clearly love them, so I do too.”
It’s hard to resist the urge to hug Danny tight enough to make him squeak while peppering his face with kisses, so Duke doesn’t. He just goes and does it, because he’s allowed to shower his husband (!) with affection (!!!) as much as he pleases.
“How are you real?” he says against the corner of Danny’s lips. “How are you so perfect! To me specifically! Honey, if we weren’t already married, I’d be going down on one knee right now.”
“I mean, you still can. We never got a proper wedding either. Think if we offer them a chance to help plan our wedding, they’ll forgive us for secretly being married for so long?”
“Oh, absolutely,” Duke says. He’s already giddy, just imagining what their wedding will look like, what song they’ll play for their first dance, where they’ll have the ceremony… He should create a Pinterest account to start putting ideas together.
Later, though. He wants to woo Danny properly and take him on so many dates.
Dates which include dinner with the Waynes and Wayne-adjacents, apparently.
“You sure you’re okay with meeting them over dinner?” he asks, just to be sure. He knows how intense they can be, even when pretending to be normal civilians. It took him years to get used to them, himself, and he doesn’t want to push Danny into doing something he’s not ready to do.
Danny cups Duke’s face in his hands and gives him a quick, reassuring kiss. “I’m sure. If nothing else, it’ll be fun to see how long it takes for them to realize I’m not fully human.”
“I really am glad it’s you.”
“Yeah, me too. I’d choose you all over again if given the choice.”
“Took the words right out of my mouth,” Duke laughs, wrapping an arm around Danny’s waist.
“Can we nap now? Now that you’re here and holding me, it’s taking everything I’ve got to stay awake.”
“Yeah, we can nap now.” Duke settles into the pillows, Danny cradled in his arms and closes his eyes to bask in the quiet easiness of it all.
He really couldn’t ask for a better husband, unexpected as he was. The others will see that too, once they meet him. It’s impossible to not love Danny once you meet him; Duke knows this all too well.
He loves his husband.
And his husband loves him back.
Duke is fully prepared to keep making that choice for the rest of his life.

Tumblr media
The room feels suffocatingly small as you and Minho stand on opposite sides, the silence between you filled with the echoes of your harsh words. It’s another night where his self-doubt and anxiety have spiraled into a fight that neither of you can control.
“Why do you always have to push me away?” you shout, frustration boiling over. “Why can’t you see that I’m here because I love you?!”
Minho’s eyes are wild with emotion, his voice trembling as he retorts, “You don’t get it! You never will! I’m nothing but a burden to you.”
“Stop saying that!” you scream, tears streaming down your face. “You’re not a burden. You’re everything to me, but you keep trying to convince me otherwise.”
He turns away, his shoulders shaking. “Maybe you should listen to me for once. Maybe you’d be better off without me.”
The words hit you like a punch to the gut, and you struggle to breathe. “Do you really want me to leave? Is that what you want?”
He slams his fist into the wall, leaving a dent. “No! But I can’t stand the thought of you wasting your time on someone like me.”
You step closer, your voice softer now but no less intense. “Minho, look at me. Please.”
He reluctantly turns, his eyes red-rimmed and filled with despair. “Why can’t you see it? I’m broken. I’m scared all the time that you’ll see what a mess I am and leave.”
You reach out, your hand trembling, and cup his face. “I’m not going anywhere. I love you, even when you’re a mess. Especially when you’re a mess.”
He pulls away, his voice breaking. “But why? Why would you stay? Everyone else left when they saw the real me.”
Your heart breaks at his words, the raw pain in his voice cutting deep. “Because I’m not them. I’m not going to leave you just because things get tough. I want to be here for you, Minho. I want to help you.”
He laughs bitterly, wiping at his tears with the back of his hand. “You can’t fix me. No one can.”
“I’m not trying to fix you,” you whisper, stepping closer again. “I just want to love you. Is that so hard to accept?”
He looks at you, his expression a mixture of anger and sorrow. “Yes, it is. Because I don’t feel worthy of your love.”
You take a deep breath, trying to steady your voice. “But you are. You’re worth everything to me.”
He collapses onto the bed, burying his face in his hands. “I wish I could believe that.”
You sit beside him, placing a hand on his back. “We can work through this together. We can find a way.”
He looks up at you, his eyes filled with hopelessness. “What if we can’t? What if I drag you down with me?”
“Then we’ll figure it out,” you say firmly. “But I’m not giving up on you, Minho. Not now, not ever.”
- - -
One night, you find him sitting on the balcony, staring out into the darkness. You join him, the cool night air doing little to soothe the tension between you.
“What are you thinking about?” you ask softly.
He doesn’t look at you, his voice barely above a whisper. “How easy it would be for you to leave.”
You feel a pang of hurt but try to keep your voice calm. “I’m not going anywhere. I’ve told you that.”
He finally turns to you, his eyes filled with unshed tears. “But what if one day you wake up and realize I’m not worth it? That all this pain and struggle isn’t worth it?”
You take his hand, squeezing it tightly. “Minho, I won’t lie to you. It’s hard sometimes. But I love you, and that makes it worth it. We’ll get through this.”
He shakes his head, pulling his hand away. “I don’t deserve you.”
“You do,” you insist, your voice breaking. “You deserve to be loved and cared for. You deserve happiness.”
He stands up abruptly, pacing back and forth. “No, I don’t. I’m a mess. I’m scared all the time. I push you away because I can’t stand the thought of you realizing I’m not worth it and leaving.”
You stand up too, blocking his path. “Minho, stop. Just stop. You’re not alone in this. I’m here, and I want to be here. Please, let me help you.”
He looks at you, his eyes filled with anguish. “How? How can you help me when I can’t even help myself?”
“We can get through this together,” you say desperately. “We can find help, talk to someone. We can do whatever it takes, but you have to let me in.”
He collapses back onto the chair, his head in his hands. “I’m so scared,” he whispers.
You kneel beside him, wrapping your arms around him. “I know. But you don’t have to be scared alone. I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”
It won’t be easy, but with love and patience, you know you can help Minho heal. And maybe, just maybe, one day he’ll believe that he’s worth it too.

Warning: Mention of Breasts
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Woodsboro had quite the big population. Not as large as Los Angeles or Santa Monica of course, but enough not to feel completely out of place or knowing you would be one of the few—like how it would be most of the times in towns and Villages.
And yet, besides knowing you're not the only Trans-Person in Woodsboro, you do feel out of place—like a fish on land.
Maybe it was because throughout your school years and the slow progress of transition, you hadn't anyone to talk about it—to relate with someone who was like you and perhaps that was the reason why you felt like this, as if you didn't belong here or anywhere.
Though yet again, when you're with Billy and Stu—your boyfriends—you felt just right in where you are—because neither Billy or Stu, they knew about you being Trans since the beginning of your relationship, treat you any differently and saw you as what you truly are. A man.
It were moments like these, which proved your inner nagging thoughts into a silence, that you belonged here—be it Woodsboro or any other place you decided to live—and that you're not alone. Moments like these, which made you fall in love with your two mans over again.
It had been some stressful weeks for you, exams and part-time Job piling up onto your nerves—straining them to an snapping point—and when a wave of dysphoria had rolled over you—taunting your mind and self-confidence, which you build up slowly but steady over the years—to feel comfortable—your high strung nerves had snapped in half and you cried, more ugly sobbing it was, for two days.
You had stayed home the whole week—had forced yourself to go to school last week already, till it became unbearable much to even consider leaving your bed at all, without feeling so disoriented.
When Billy and Stu didn't saw you in school, they grew a bit worried about you—especially when you ignored their calls—having a good hunch of why you stayed at home—and once they've asked your older siblings and they confirmed their suspicions, Billy and Stu decided to visit you and do a sleepover.
~~~
Sitting in the middle of your bed, in nothing clad but boxers, you let Billy take off your binder—he's careful not touch whats beneath it—although you being on transition, the much needed operation to remove your breasts would only become real, when you had saved up enough money for it—and once the soft material was off from your skin, you wanted to curl into yourself and hide away.
The feeling of your breast—these ugly breasts, those lumps of flesh—which are now hanging freely on your chest, racked a shudder through your body—visible flinching away from Billy's hands and crossing your arms over your breasts—wanting to hide them, to make them disappear once more.
Billy pry'ed your arms from your chest, pulling one of Stu's shirts—which in terms of size—even though Stu's more lanky limps than bulky wide, he still wears shirts in size of XL or XXL—looks so massive on you, that it looks like as if you're swallowed whole in the material—over you.
You sighed out in relief, closing your eyes, when your breast were now covered—feeling more secure and comfortable again.
Stu, after setting up the dvd-player for tonight's movie marathon—which, despite being summer, consisted of the whole Halloween Chronicles and other Horror and Slasher movies—had crawled onto the bed as well—engulfing you in his long lanky but strong arms and covers your face with little smooches of butterflies kisses.
»You looks so sexy in my shirt, [Name], I could eat you up right away« Stu grinned, licking over his lips—thought about to lock you into a tongue battling french-kiss, but with your current mood it wouldn't be such a good idea to do so, didn't want to make you uncomfortable and cry—when you're already feeling so in the down—so instead Stu decides to give you a big final kiss on the cheek.
»Horrorfilms again?« you asked, cuddling more into Stu's side, when he had pulled you down to the mattress.
You had nothing against Horrorfilms, just to watch them 24/7 a week and throughout the year, could be a bit—a tiny bit—tedious to do so for your eyes and mind.
»What can I say, they are the best to watch. Aren't they? But don't worry, pretty boy, we will watch your favourite movies too.«
Billy calling you „pretty boy“ makes your heart soar—brought a small smile onto your lips—because that's what you are; a boy.
»Yeah, I am a pretty boy.« you repeated, voice still in a hushed whisper, but with confidence in it.
Billy placed the bags of chips around you all, getting into bed himself—pressing the button of the remote to start the first movie—and laying down next to you, draping an arm around your shoulders.
»Don't be a such a hogger, Stuie. I want a share of our darling boy too.«
»You're more a hogger than I am!« Stu furrowed his eyebrows slightly, pouting childish at Billy.
»Such a lie. You definitely hog him more.«
»Boys, I'm in the middle and you both get a fair share. So now, no more fighting and let's watch these movies now.« you said, patting each of their legs—knowing well that once a discussion between your boyfriends would break out, it could last the whole night and probably would go into the nasty side of insults.
Although you had a shitty week and still feeling in the dumpster—as if you didn't belong anywhere anymore at all—having Billy and Stu next to you, their arms around you, felt like the safest place on earth.
Tumblr media
THE WIND BLOWS AGAIN, and your body shivers a bit from the cold. You wrap his jacket tighter around you, trying to stay warm as you look up to the stars in the night sky. Heeseung is still standing next to you, but he doesn’t say anything, he just watches you silently.
“Oh look shooting star..!” You said as you looked up to the sky, a shooting star streak across the night sky, leaving a trail of glimmering light behind it.
“You know what they say, right?” Heeseung speaks, sounding slightly amused. “If you make a wish, then your wish will come true.”  You giggle softly, and reply, "Yeah, I know that." You say, you are feeling happy now, as you see another shooting star in the sky. You feel like making a wish but you are not sure if it will come true, but you still make a wish in your heart.
What  did she wish..? I mean.. maybe something touching if you know, we’ll reveal it later on.
Heeseung hears the gossip too and his face looks annoyed. "You should just ignore them. They're just jealous, that's why they're talking about you." He says, he is trying to sound like he cares about you, but you don't believe it, though his tone is a bit cold. He then starts to walk away. "I'll be back." He quickly tells you, before walking away, as the gossiping people watch his every move.
You stay in the garden, feeling a bit lonely. But after seeing another shooting star, you make a new wish, one that is probably impossible to come true. As you look at the stars, you hear a soft voice, it's one of the gossiping ladies. She says,
"Do they even love each other?"
She laughs and whispers to her other friend, but you hear it clearly. It hurts, but you don't let it bother you.
"I heard their relationship isn't even real, they're only married because their parents arranged it." You hear a man in the gossiping group say.
"I heard their relationship is just for show, they don't even love each other." A woman chimes in.
"I know for sure their relationship is fake. I mean, I don't see any love between them." Another man chimes in.
"I thought it was weird when I first saw them together. I don't feel any connection between them. I mean, look at them. Neither of them look too happy with each other."
You continue to listen to their gossip. The more you listen, the more heartbroken you feel. You look up at the sky again, and see that another shooting star has passed, you still make another wish, hoping it will come true. You feel a small tear forming in your eyes, you don't want to cry, so you just blink and quickly wipe it away. But another tear rolls down as you hear another person gossip. They say,
"I wonder how long they can keep their fake marriage?"
"I wonder if they can fake their love till death do them part."
They all continue to laugh at the thought, continuing to gossip about you and Heeseung's relationship. The more you listen, the more heartbroken and upset you feel. You feel a lump forming in your throat, you want to just walk away, but you are frozen in your spot, listening to their gossip while holding back tears.
Tumblr media
THEY GO ON AND ON,  gossiping about you and Heeseung, like you're a piece of trash.
"I bet their marriage won't last five months even."
"They won't make it more than a year, I believe they'll divorce even before that."
"Yeah, I agree with you. I bet their marriage will only last two months. They don't have a love connection, nor do they have chemistry, so how can their relationship last long?"
You go back inside the hall and find your seat. But this time, Heeseung is talking to some other women. You can't help but feel a pang of jealousy as you see him talking and laughing with them, but you try to ignore it. All the gossiping you've heard has made you upset, and you can do nothing but feel helpless, as you just stare at Heeseung talking and laughing with other women.
You think about what the gossipers said, "Their marriage will only last a few more months.. no.. I bet we'll break up sooner than that.. our relationship isn't even real.. our marriage is based on a fake love.. our marriage is just a lie." You look down, feeling more upset and heartbroken. You can't help but feel like crying, but you hold it in, until finally a tear rolls down as you look at Heeseung again. A tear rolls down your cheek, but you quickly wipe it away before Heeseung could see it.
You keep on thinking about how Heeseung doesn't love you, and that your relationship is based on lies. The more you think about it, the more you feel hurt, and you find yourself slowly breaking down inside. Your heart feels heavy, and you feel like you're about to cry, but you hold it in, knowing that you can't let yourself cry here, with all these rich people watching you.
You stand up, and walk out of the hall, without any word to Heeseung. You quickly send him a message that you're going home early, and you immediately order a taxi. As you wait for the taxi, you think about the gossip you heard, like "Their marriage will only last a few more months", and "Their relationship isn't even fake". Your heart feels like it's breaking, and it makes you feel sad, more tears trickle down your cheeks, and you wipe them away quickly. You get into the taxi, and you're on your way home. You can't help but feel sad as you think about what the gossip said about you and Heeseung's relationship. You keep replaying the gossip in your head, and it just makes you feel worse. The tears keep coming, but you keep wiping them away quickly.
You finally arrive home, and you quickly enter inside. You rush up to your room, and sit down on the bed, crying softly to yourself. Your heart feels heavy from all the gossip you heard, you know your relationship with Heeseung is fake, but you can't help but feel depressed and alone. You're in the room crying by yourself, no one cares about you, no one is there to comfort you, you are completely alone. You change out of your dress, and throw on a nightgown. You feel so lonely, so you sit on your bed, and silently cry to yourself. You can't stop thinking about the fact that your marriage is fake, and that your relationship with Heeseung is just an act. All of these thoughts make you feel like your heart is breaking, and you just cry and cry. You feel so alone, and so helpless. It's like you can't escape all these feelings.. As you keep crying, you suddenly hear a knock at your door. You quickly wipe away your tears, and try to compose yourself, but it's too late.
Tumblr media
TEARS STILL COVER YOUR FACE, and it's obvious that you've been crying. You slowly walk to the door and open it, to find Heeseung standing there, looking at you with a blank expression on his face.
“Hi..?” You greeted him, your voice was slightly cracked from crying.
Heeseung stares at you for a moment, before speaking.
"You're crying?" He asks, sounding a bit surprised as he looks at you, with the obvious tear tracks on your cheeks.
“Ehm.. yea i watched a drama before..” lies.
He nods, and seems to buy your excuse, but he knows that you're lying. But he says nothing, and just stares at you for another moment, before speaking.
"You left the party without even telling me? You know it's not just about you, but our company's image too, right?" He reprimands you, sounding angry at you. He is more concerned about his reputation, than about you being upset. This upsets you more.
“I-.. okay sorry..” You apologized as you looked down.
Heeseung continues to lecture you,
"You can't just leave like that, it looks weird... You should always tell me before you leave..." He says, but he continues to sound angry, disregarding your tears.
"Don't you understand that my company's image is on the line too?" He asks, sounding a bit irritated as he stares at you. Heeseung sighs, and crosses his arms.
"I know this marriage is only for business purposes, but you can't act like that. Don't you care about my reputation?" He asks, sounding more annoyed.
"Our marriage isn't even real, and I don't feel a connection with you, but I at least care about my reputation. I don't want to look bad because of you." He says, sounding irritated. You nodded in reply, he looked at you for a moment, before he sighs again.
"Don't do that again. You know how this marriage is fake, but it's more about our company's image.." He reminds you, his tone still sounding annoyed.
"Don't do something like that ever again. You should remember that this marriage is just for a business deal, and we don't love each other." He then turns and walks away, shutting the door of your bedroom, leaving you alone and heartbroken once again.
we fell apart when the sky was orange (and now every sunset reminds me of you) // beomgyu
Tumblr media
Two long years after he broke your heart, Choi Beomgyu remains your first and only love. Unfortunately he’s now also your colleague, and you’re not sure if you ever really got over him.
at a glance: gender neutral reader, exes to lovers, office au, angst, fluff, ft. enhypen’s heeseung, itzy’s ryujin, and p1harmony’s keeho
words: 6.5k
warnings: swearing
notes: happy valentine's day!! i'm like an hour late but shh hope u enjoy <3
——————————
Your one-and-a-half year long relationship with Choi Beomgyu, the first serious relationship either of you had ever had, ended abruptly during a lovely evening in the East Coast Gardens. You’d gone there together with some of your friends for a picnic and to watch the sunset, celebrating finishing your second year of university.
At some point, you and Beomgyu left the rest of the group to take a walk along the beach. The sky was tinted that showstopping blend of pink and orange only seen at dawn and dusk, and he was holding your hand.
“We have to break up,” he blurted out, letting go.
When you two walked together, it was typical for neither of you to speak for long stretches of time. You weren’t exactly sure what you expected him to break the silence with, but it surely wasn’t that.
“What?”
“We have to break up,” he repeated, barely even looking you in the eye. His voice was flat, but his jaw was so tight he was slurring all of his words. “It’s, uh, it’s been real.”
The glow of the sunset, as breathtaking as it was, faded into the background for you. “It’s been real?” you echoed in disbelief, your mind still lagging ten paces behind your mouth. “Gyu, you can’t be serious. What happened?”
He took a step back from you. “Nothing happened. We just aren’t right for each other.”
“But- but we’re in love,” you protested, hating how childish you sounded. Maybe you were. Maybe it was your juvenile foolishness that had convinced you he meant it when he said ‘I love you too’, as if the ‘too’ tacked on at the end wasn’t a clear enough sign he just said it to agree with you.
You couldn’t remember what happened after that — what he’d said in response, if anything, whether you’d stormed off first or if he’d left you there in the sand, if you had cried. All you remembered was the heartwrenching drive home, shoved in the backseat next to a friend you’d long since lost touch with, periodically tipping your head back so your tears wouldn’t spill over.
——————————
Two years later, everything worked out in the end. You’d like to think so, at least, because you and your best friend Ryujin had just graduated from university at the top of your cohort. With your grades, you both easily secured jobs at the biggest accounting firm in the country as recruits in their prestigious Graduate Talent Programme. It was your first day on the job, and you were about to meet the other GTs.
“No way,” Ryujin muttered.
“What?” you asked, but as the question was leaving your mouth you saw what she was pointing at. Or, more accurately, who.
Beomgyu saw you at almost the exact same moment you did. He locked eyes with you too quickly for you to have pretended not to see him, so you stood rooted in place as he made his way over to you. The expression on his face was unreadable.
“Hey, Y/N,” he greeted. You couldn’t recall the last time you heard your name come out of his mouth. Even though the office was stuffed with people more important than you two, people you should’ve been introducing yourself to, you saw and heard and felt no one but him.
“Hi, Beomgyu,” you returned, his name heavy on your tongue.
He rocked back on the heels of his black dress shoes — so opposite to the sneakers he used to wear everyday back when you dated, the white ones you had given him for his birthday four years ago and he refused to replace despite them just about falling apart — and put his hands in his pockets.
“Fancy seeing you here,” he said. You sensed a degree of wariness creeping into his tone now. He looked exactly the same, barring his slightly shorter hair with his icy grey highlights taken out.
“Yeah, what are the odds?” you asked, making casual conversation as if you couldn’t hear that same wariness in your own words.
He wore a crisp white button down, starched impeccably into perfect plains that wrapped around his broad torso, a thin black tie, and black slacks. He’d clearly gotten better at tying ties. You remembered struggling through the How to Tie a Windsor Knot WikiHow article with him before one of his job interviews, both of you flailing around helplessly for nearly an hour before you succeeded.
He nodded to someone standing behind you, prompting you to turn around. “Nice you’ve got Ryujin with you. Heeseung got in too, if you remember him.”
You did. When you and Beomgyu were still together he often told you about Heeseung, an old friend from high school he gamed with online. You wondered what he had told Heeseung about your breakup.
Thankfully, someone else called for everyone’s attention right then, and you booked it to the other corner of the room.
“Good morning everyone! I’d like to introduce our brand new GTP recruits. GTs, if you would please come to the front.”
You and the four other GTs awkwardly shuffled forward, and you ended up standing right beside Beomgyu. The universe hated you; that was the only explanation. Ryujin was too busy stifling her laughter to feel sorry for you.
“Joining our auditing team are Shin Ryujin, Lee Heeseung, and Yoon Keeho. Joining our advisory team are Y/N and Choi Beomgyu. Please give them all a warm welcome!”
The rest of the office clapped politely while your world crumbled around you (fine, you were being hyperbolic). Of all the people on the planet you could’ve been paired with, it just had to be him.
He still smelt the same, wearing the same cologne he’d worn when you were together. The same cologne which clung to your bedsheets for weeks after you broke up.
You closed your eyes for a split second, looking down so no one would notice, and took a deep breath. Then, you raised your head again, turned to Beomgyu, and held out your hand.
“I look forward to working with you,” you said with a polite smile.
He raised an eyebrow but shook your hand anyway.
——————————
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your new team lead whisked you and Beomgyu around from office to office, throwing more information at you than any normal person would be able to process, giving you no room to breathe — let alone talk to the man who’d broken your heart two years ago and was apparently not over you, either.
Clearly, not talking to him didn’t mean you weren’t thinking about him.
Perhaps he was thinking about you too, because you’d catch him watching you out of the corner of your eye when he thought you were distracted. But your interactions with each other were limited to curt, perfunctory statements and uncomfortable glances.
After clock-off, your new colleague Keeho suggested all the GTs go out for drinks. He claimed it was so you’d get to know each other better, but it was clear he just wanted drama. You were at the bar ordering another mocktail when Beomgyu pulled out the barstool next to yours.
“Make that two, please,” he told the bartender, sitting down. Neither of you said a word. You snuck a glance at him to find him already looking at you, so you turned away and stared straight ahead.
Were you over him?
Truthfully, you weren’t sure. You couldn’t tell the difference between being hung up on an ex and grieving someone who’d been such a pivotal part of your life. Maybe it was the whole ‘you never really get over your first love’ thing other people talked about.
He cleared his throat. “Hey.”
You winced, bracing yourself for awkwardness. “Hey.”
“So, uh, you look-” he hesitated, cutting himself off, “How’ve you been?”
“Good… good. You?” You were starting to regret ordering a non-alcoholic drink, because he was just as pretty as you remembered and it was doing your head in.
Ryujin always said you needed to date again, that you’d never move on unless you put yourself back out there. To your credit, you did try. But you ran all your attempts at dating into the ground with all the same flaws of yours that had ended things between you and Beomgyu two years ago.
“Good…” He paused again, and then straightened his back and put his hands on the bar counter, open and declarative. “Can we not do this? Can we just start over?” he asked.
“Start over?” you echoed.
“What happened between us happened so long ago. We don’t need to dredge all that back up again,” he said.
The bartender returned with your identical drinks and, before you could say anything, Beomgyu handed over his credit card. He waved away your surprised gratitude, raised his glass, and held the other one out to you.
Maybe to another person, someone who knew him less well than you did, he’d seem cool and confident. But you could see a tentativeness in his eyes, a slight shake that told you he was worried you wouldn’t respond well, that you wouldn’t take the olive branch in his hand.
You let out a small laugh, the group chat revelation from this morning still rattling about in your head, and tapped the rim of your glass against his.
“Sure, Gyu. Let’s start over.”
——————————
You and Ryujin spent the entire night and most of the next morning’s commute to the office debating what ‘start over’ meant. She thought it meant going back to the courtship stage (whatever that was), and you thought it meant erasing yours and Beomgyu’s history entirely and beginning anew. As strangers.
“But he isn’t over you!” she protested, drawing ire from the elderly couple sitting in front of you on the train.
“That doesn’t mean anything,” you mumbled. “Nothing’s going to happen between us. We literally didn’t say a word to each other yesterday at work.”
Ryujin shook her head. “You’re wrong. There’s something there. I don’t know what, but there’s something.”
Nearly a whole week passed before you began to admit she was right, when even you could no longer bury your head in the sand and pretend you didn’t see it. You kept telling yourself you were content with carrying on your ostrich roleplay for as long as humanly possible, but it was starting to grate on you.
Every year, the GTP recruits were expected to put together a proposal paper and presentation on what they felt the company could improve. The deadline was in two months — how were any of you supposed to be familiar enough with the company by then to make policy recommendations?
“Our team lead keeps saying the company needs ‘fresh eyes’,” Keeho said during your first meeting for the project a week later, already careening off topic. “She stares right into my soul whenever she says ‘fresh eyes’. It’s fucking creepy.”
“It is creepy,” Heeseung agreed, twirling his pen between his fingers.
“Do we all have our notes ready?” Ryujin asked, wrangling the meeting back on track.
Beomgyu helpfully gathered up each of your notes and passed the stack over to you. You were friendly now after that night at the bar, but there was so much tension between you two that even your team lead pointed it out.
“You’re in charge of this, right?” Beomgyu asked. You had volunteered to do the boring work of collating all of your ideas and suggestions into a draft skeleton outline for the proposal paper.
“I’ll help you,” Keeho offered, smiling at you from across the table. “I’m happy to do the auditing parts.”
Beomgyu folded his arms and leant back in his chair. “They can manage.”
You had to stop going giddy every time you saw him in a shirt and tie.
“Actually, help would be useful,” you said to Keeho, ignoring Beomgyu not because you were annoyed, but because you didn’t know what to make of his interjection. Unbeknownst to you, Beomgyu scowled.
——————————
You and Keeho had arranged to work on the report after lunch that day. Beomgyu wasn’t keeping tabs on you or anything, he just made sure to remind you that you had a 3pm advisory meeting with him the same afternoon. Yes, that was the only reason he cared about what you did with your time.
And the only reason he was hovering around by Keeho’s office cubicle was to make sure you weren’t late for the meeting. Not because you were there. Not because you were with Keeho. Not because you and Keeho kept laughing and playfully pushing each other. What could possibly be that funny, anyway?
“Can I help you?” Keeho asked Beomgyu, finally noticing his presence.
Beomgyu ignored him and looked straight at you, tapping his watch. “Let’s go. It’s 2.50.”
“Ah, already?” you mumbled, mostly to yourself, gathering your things up from Keeho’s desk. “Sorry, Keeho. I’ll finish it tonight.”
Keeho smirked as his gaze shifted from you to Beomgyu and then back to you, before he let out a quiet laugh. “Don’t worry about it; I’ll take it from here.”
“Thanks, you’re a lifesaver!” You scrambled to your feet to follow Beomgyu to the lift lobby.
The meeting room was just three floors above you, and as soon as Beomgyu led you into the lifts he braced for you to ask him why he was in such a rush. It only took a minute to get there. But you didn’t; maybe you would have a couple of years ago.
——————————
Beomgyu waited until you and him were alone in the office — an hour or so after the end of the work day — when he just couldn’t take it anymore.
“There’s so much weird sexual tension between you and Keeho,” he said, trying and failing to sound casual. To both his amazement and relief, you didn’t seem to notice.
Your lips twitched, like you were about to reveal something but quickly decided against it. Beomgyu remembered when he was able to read you like an open book, but those days were now long gone and he couldn’t tell what you were thinking anymore.
“He’s hot. And tall. And he seems nice,” Beomgyu continued, unsure what he was trying to accomplish.
“I don’t really date anymore,” you blurted out, seeming to regret saying that almost immediately.
“Why not?”
You shrugged, now regaining your composure. “I… I don’t think I’d be a good partner. For anyone.”
It was Beomgyu’s turn to falter. He watched you carefully as the realisation started to sink in. The walls of the now quiet office felt like they were closing in on him. You’d blamed yourself for the breakup. He’d made you think you were too broken for love.
“Oh, god, did I do that to you?” he asked, so quiet it was nearly a whisper.
“…It was a long time ago,” you replied after what seemed like forever, a non-answer if ever there was one, glancing up from the desk and flashing him a tight-lipped smile. It didn’t even get anywhere near your eyes. “We don’t have to get into it. I’m sorry I brought it up. Like you said, we should just start over.”
He swallowed his pride and shook his head firmly. “No, I was wrong. We should talk about it. I don’t want to leave things unsaid.”
The version of him that had broken up with you would never have said that. That version of him refused to even admit when he had a headache. That version of him dumped you because he couldn’t handle you ‘always needing to talk about feelings.’ It was hard for him to stomach that fact, even all these years later.
“I don’t know- I had so many issues and I expected you to be my answer to all of them. I just figured that if even a guy like you couldn’t stand me, I was beyond redemption,” you shrugged.
Once, during a particularly hectic exam season back in university, you had completely shut yourself off from him, all your friends, even Ryujin. You didn’t talk to anyone for a week. You didn’t leave your room. You didn’t answer any of his texts or calls. He knew your parents were fighting and your rent had gone up past what you could afford and you were struggling to pass your classes. There was nothing more he wanted than to drive over to your place and hold you, to tell you everything was going to be fine, but you refused to let him.
“Do you still think that?” he asked, his throat feeling exceptionally tight.
“Maybe. I’m not sure,” you admitted.
Even back then he knew why you refused, although he wasn’t ready to admit it at the time. Whenever you did try to open up to him he would shut down, so eventually you stopped trying.
Your phone alarm went off before he could think of a response, a generic default ringtone. It used to be a recording of him quacking like a duck, because for some reason you found that hilarious and he liked doing it to cheer you up.
“I should go. My train’s coming,” you told him.
He blinked, blindsided. “Oh- okay.”
You packed your bag and stood up, walking to the lift lobby and pressing the button. Then, in a fraction of a second, you dropped the facade.
“Don’t take what I said too seriously, Gyu,” you assured him. “I’m alright now. I’m in a good place.”
He stared at your eyes, trying to decipher them, but you seemed to be telling the truth. After a second or two, he pulled his shoulders back and nodded. There was still a weight on his chest.
“I’m glad to hear it,” he smiled.
The lift doors behind you opened, and you smiled back. The weight lifted.
“See you tomorrow, Gyu.”
The GTs were meeting before the work day officially started to discuss the progress you and Keeho had made yesterday. You and Ryujin got on the train an hour earlier than usual.
“Are you gonna say yes?” she asked, after you told her Keeho had asked you out on a date yesterday. She had a slice of buttered toast in her mouth in flagrant disregard of the ‘no eating’ sign right behind her.
“I don’t know,” you groaned, dragging out your last word like a whiny child. You only acted like this in front of Ryujin. “I should, right? He’s nice.”
“I don’t think you should date people on the basis of niceness. I think you should date them based on whether you actually like them,” she said, never being one to sugarcoat the truth for you, before her eyes widened in realisation. “Don’t tell me it’s because of Beomgyu.”
“It’s not,” you said, and she gave you a knowing look. “Well, it’s not not. What if I’m broken?”
Your conversation with Beomgyu hadn’t left your head since yesterday. You were still bewildered that he’d insisted on talking to you about your breakup; it was so unlike him. Or at least the version of him you remembered.
“I don’t understand how you can take him breaking up with you the way he did as an indictment on you and not him,” Ryujin said. “He always acted like you were some big emotional burden when most of the time you were just a bit sad and needed a hug. And he couldn’t even handle that.”
——————————
Beomgyu, Heeseung, and Keeho were all already in the meeting room when you and Ryujin showed up, even though you were five minutes early yourselves.
“Keeho brought doughnuts,” Heeseung announced instead of saying ‘good morning’, pointing to the box on the table. Ryujin grinned and skipped over to the box to grab one.
“Y/N, do you want Oreo or cinnamon?” Keeho asked, checking to see which flavours were left.
Beomgyu looked up from his phone and said nonchalantly, “Y/N doesn’t like eating in the morning.” The statement was addressed to Keeho, but he looked right at you as he said it.
You stared back at him. He remembered, but of course he did, because you used to watch him eat breakfast while only nursing a giant thermos of coffee every morning. He always nagged you about not skipping ‘the most important meal of the day’, and you always insisted that that was a myth. (For the record, you were right.)
“Uh- yeah. I’m good, thanks,” you stammered after far too long a pause.
Keeho cocked an eyebrow, looking between you and Beomgyu like he had yesterday with a slight smile on his face, before taking the last cinnamon doughnut for himself.
Five minutes before nine, you wrapped up your meeting. Beomgyu and Keeho offered to stay and reset the meeting room while the rest of you hurried to your desks, until you realised you’d left your phone behind and circled back to get it. Right as you reached for the door handle, you heard something that made you freeze.
“Y/N told me you asked them out.” Beomgyu’s voice was barely muffled by the closed door.
Peeking through the tiny window of the door, you saw Keeho shrug. “I did. But I’m not holding my breath.”
“Why? They think you’re hot,” Beomgyu said.
You were so going to kill him. That little-
Keeho laughed and shook his head. “Nah, I’m doomed by the narrative.”
“What the hell is that supposed to mean?” Beomgyu asked. That was the man you recognised, defensive and immediately assuming intent to offend. You heard them walking towards the door and scrambled to hide behind the wall around the corner, holding your breath.
“Relax, man,” Keeho chuckled, opening the door. The two men walked right past you, not noticing you. “I’m just saying you should go for it.”
Beomgyu frowned. “What?”
“Yeah. No regrets, right?”
Beomgyu was acting differently with you now. He was smiling more, joking around more. You were trying not to think about it too much — you didn’t know what it meant, and, more worryingly, you didn’t know what you wanted it to mean.
You two stayed late one Friday night to work on a presentation deck, being the only people left in the office by 8pm. You ordered kimbap and fried chicken and ate dinner together at his cubicle, balancing paper plates on your knees while he typed and you peered over his shoulder.
“This feels familiar,” Beomgyu mused, turning around to look at you. You must’ve looked like a deer in the headlights to him, because you instantly forgot whatever you were about to say when he smiled at you.
In university you had spent many a night in his apartment sitting beside him at his desk, watching him game with Heeseung (whom you only knew at that point as a disembodied voice that lived in Beomgyu’s headset). You were usually snacking on something and you’d feed him whatever it was while he was playing.
“So, did you say yes to Keeho?” Beomgyu asked, sounding flippant, but you could tell he’d been waiting for the right time to ask you that for a while.
“No, he- that’s weird,” you frowned, after you pushed the ground floor button and it failed to light up. Then, the entire lift rattled. “That’s weirder.”
He reached over your shoulder to push the button again, his hair brushing against the back of your neck. Once more, it didn’t light up. But you were worrying about other things, namely how broad his button up made his shoulders look and how good he smelt.
“Answer my question,” he pressed, all while repeatedly poking the button like an impatient toddler.
You would’ve laughed, if not for how close he was standing to you making it impossible for you to think straight. “We decided against it- are we actually stuck in here?”
It was silent for a few seconds as you looked at each other, confused. And then he began to panic.
“No, we can’t be,” he insisted, jabbing his finger at the lift button over and over so hard you thought he’d break his knuckle. His eyes were wide and his breathing was shallow and fast.
“Gyu-”
He cut you off with a loud wail and slapped his hands onto his head, throwing his back against the wall behind him and sliding down it dramatically. You bit back a laugh, the feeling of his body right by yours a second ago now a distant memory.
“We’re trapped! We’re gonna die!” he shrieked, his voice amplified by the tightness of the space you were in. The lift rattled once more.
You stifled a laugh. “Dude, chill.”
It had been nearly four years since your first date, but you still remembered it vividly. He’d brought you to a night carnival, and one of the first attractions on the itinerary was the haunted house. He confessed to you months after you started dating that it was all part of his grand plan to make you fall in love with him: that you would get scared and cling onto his bicep and he’d heroically protect you.
The actual experience went like this. You and him made it about a fifth of the way through the haunted house — with you taking the lead and him screaming bloody murder the entire time — before he tapped out and you turned back. Upon shamefully emerging from the haunted house’s entrance like a couple of quitter chickens, he sank to the floor with his head in his hands, exactly as he was right now. Of course now he was in a button up, tie, slacks, and dress shoes rather than a university sweatshirt and jeans, but the pose was nearly identical.
“I’m too young to die! But I’m too old to get on the news for dying young!” he babbled. Maybe he was delirious from the stress of the job. Ignoring the meltdown unfolding by your feet, you dialled the emergency number above the lift door and gave the man on the other end of the line your lift’s reference number.
“The maintenance guy will be here in a few minutes,” you relayed, hanging up the phone.
He took his head out of his hands and stopped screaming. “Oh. I might have overreacted.”
You laughed, joining him on the floor on the opposite side of the lift. “You think?”
It was silent for a while, save for a few odd creaks from the lift here and there. He had his legs stretched out in front of him and they looked about a billion miles long. You couldn’t really look at him too much without your heart feeling weird.
“Hey,” he started, kicking your shoe to get your attention. “What happened with Keeho?”
He was still on that.
“Nothing. We decided it wasn’t a good idea,” you answered, pausing for a moment to mull over whether you should admit to the conversation you had eavesdropped on last week. You choose to keep your mouth shut.
Beomgyu stayed silent for so long that you got over your refusal to make eye contact and looked up to see if something was wrong. He was frowning. The lift was so small and quiet you swore you could hear your own heartbeat echoing off the walls.
“It wasn’t your fault, you know? Us. How we ended,” he said, chewing nervously on his bottom lip. “I was always shutting you down when you needed to be comforted. I even said you had too many issues.”
You winced at his last sentence, words that still stung nearly three years after he’d first uttered them to you. He must have seen it on your face, because he closed his eyes and looked away.
“Maybe we both met the right person at the wrong time,” you offered, trailing off as he silently got up from his spot opposite you and sat down next to you instead. If he moved even a millimetre closer, his shoulder would’ve touched yours. You held your breath and turned to him, your face so close to his that you could count his eyelashes.
“Yeah, maybe.” He held your gaze, unwavering.
The lift rattled even louder this time, but although you jumped he didn’t even flinch. Instead, his eyes drifted down to your lips. You used to rest your head on his shoulder when you two sat next to each other like this, whether it was on his sofa or at a restaurant. It was your ‘thing’.
He leaned in, and you found yourself drawn towards him. There was something magnetic about him that seemed to pull you forward, a compulsion of sorts. He used to taste like the pomegranate lip balm you kept in your pocket that he constantly nicked because he was too lazy to buy his own. You wondered if he’d bought one for himself after you split up. His nose brushed against yours and your eyes fluttered shut.
BANG!
You jumped apart, exchanging alarmed glances at the deafening metallic clang of the lift door.
“Maintenance! You guys okay in there?”
Beomgyu recovered from the shock before you did and sputtered out an, “All good!” But he was looking only at you. Beside him you were frozen, certain you could still feel the warmth of his breath on your face.
“Stand back from the doors!” the maintenance man continued.
You scrambled to your feet first, straightening your jacket and grabbing your bag. Your face felt like it was on fire. After (in your estimation) about a billion hours, the lift doors finally parted to reveal a beaming maintenance man.
“Thank you so much, sir. Have a good night,” you rushed out, mumbling a goodbye to Beomgyu without turning to look at him. He didn’t get a chance to return the pleasantry before you were gone.
——————————
Neither of you spoke of the lift incident after that night. You acted like nothing had ever happened, and Beomgyu seemed more than happy to go along with your charade.
Your team lead had invited you both to tag along to a meeting with another company’s headquarters; neither of you had any direct involvement in the project, but he’d asked you to prepare a short presentation on your suggestions for the project anyway. It would be a good experience for you, hence why you agreed to it, but now you were starting to question your judgement.
“Are you nervous?” Beomgyu asked you under his breath as you walked down the corridor side by side to the conference room.
“Is it obvious?” you asked. Your thumb drive loaded with presentation slides was burning a hole in your pocket. Your palms were sweating, but you didn’t want to say that out loud. He’d just start rapping Eminem’s Lose Yourself at you and ruin your focus.
Truth be told, you didn’t really know why he was here — he wasn’t giving a presentation and had nothing to do with the project.
“It’s obvious to me,” he answered.
If you read into that even a little, you inferred he meant that he knew you better than other people did, that he saw more of you than they did. If you read into your own relief when he told you this morning he was coming for the meeting, you inferred having him with you made you feel more secure.
You needed to stop reading into things.
But how could you, when he checked where the air conditioning vents in the meeting room were the second he walked in so he could get you both seats far away from them, knowing you got cold easily? And how could you, when he swapped your chair with his own on instinct to give you the one without any broken wheels?
After the meeting ended, you took the train back home with him. It was a two hour ride.
“You did great,” he praised, leading the way to an empty train carriage. As he walked, he slipped his fingers under his navy blue tie, loosening the knot and popping open the top button of his shirt. You tried not to stare.
“Thanks.” You sat down in the window seat, and he took the one beside you. His shoulder touched yours. Were train seats always this narrow?
There was a part of you that wished Ryujin were here to knock some sense into you and/or crush your delusions before they became too well fleshed out, but she was starting to warm to Beomgyu more and more these days. She was even encouraging you to talk to him. Ryujin? Encouraging you to talk to Beomgyu? Maybe you’d fallen into the matrix.
——————————
“I’m on my way home. How was work?”
You hadn’t dreamt about Beomgyu in a long time, but your dreamscape’s recreation of his voice still remained accurate. Warm and melodic, with a smooth lilt that made anything he said sound poetic.
“It was alright. Are you with Y/N?”
Heeseung’s voice. Hm. Dreaming about Heeseung was weird, but not entirely out of the question. You’d gotten to know him pretty well-
“Shh, man. They’re sleeping right beside me.”
At that, you finally woke up. Your head was resting on Beomgyu’s shoulder instead of the window pane, somehow having found its way to him while you were asleep. Perhaps he’d shifted you there himself, like he used to do whenever you dozed off on the wall of yours and his favourite study booth in the back of the university library.
He didn’t notice you were awake. You kept your eyes shut and remained perfectly still.
“Have you guys talked?” Heeseung asked on the other end of the phone.
“No. What am I supposed to say? Sorry I almost kissed you, I think I’m still in love with you?” Beomgyu said quietly.
“Yeah. Literally.”
“I can’t do that, man.”
“Why not? The universe gave you a second chance. No regrets, right?”
Beomgyu was silent for a few seconds.
“Yeah, I’ll see you at home.”
He hung up without giving Heeseung a chance to reply, and you felt him shifting around as he slipped his phone into his pocket.
Still. Not that he fell in love with you again, but that he never stopped. He was still in love with you.
His hair brushed the side of your face when he turned to you and called your name softly.
“Y/N, wake up.”
You’d never been a particularly good actor, but you pretended to wake up as best as you could and hoped he didn’t see through you.
“Look,” he said quietly, even though there was no one else around, pointing out the window.
The sun was just beginning to set, glowing a brilliant warm orange and glazing the clouds around it in red and yellow. Pink streaks spanned across the sky and through the window into the train carriage.
“It’s beautiful,” you whispered.
When you turned back around, Beomgyu was watching you instead of the sunset. He looked away immediately, clearing his throat and shifting around in his seat. You wondered if he was thinking of the same thing you were.
“Sorry I woke you. I didn’t want you to miss the sunset,” he mumbled. His hands sat folded awkwardly in his lap like he didn’t know what to do with them.
Still. Still?
You could count on one hand the number of times in your life you’d been well and truly speechless; this was one of them.
He seemed to mistake your silence for something else — you didn’t know what — because he turned away and dropped his gaze apologetically.
“Hey, about the other day,” he said, trailing off, “I’m sorry I made things weird.”
You weren’t going to lose him again. You’d had enough heartbreak.
“You didn’t,” you rushed out, placing your hand over his. The movement was sudden and uncoordinated, an impulsive lunge forward rather than a measured and gentle reach. “I wish I hadn’t run away like that.”
Beomgyu’s eyes were wide, his lips parted slightly in shock. You didn’t know if your words or your actions had caused that.
“Really?” His voice was all breath and no depth.
The melting light of the sunset behind you poured into the train carriage through the window, lying across his face in ribbons of gold that made his skin glow. The hue was almost indescribable, the type of colour only found during sunsets, and the colour you associated only with Choi Beomgyu.
His fingers curled up to lace themselves with yours, and you felt a coldness on your skin that gave you a jolt. It was a ring. Plain, thin, silver.
You bought him matching rings for your six month anniversary, thick patterned silver ones with intricate carvings and twisted rope trimmings. They were cheap costume jewellery — you lost your job around then and that was all you could afford — and they stained your fingers green after a few days.
You gave up and wore your ring on a chain around your neck instead, but he wore his on his index finger every day, all the way to the end. You used to call him 1% Shrek.
He squeezed your hand.
Now or never.
“I don’t want to… I don’t think I can pretend I’m not in love with you anymore,” you admitted, your heart battering against your rib cage like it was trying to burst out of your chest.
Beomgyu’s grip on your hand tightened. “Me neither,” he whispered.
You looked at him, at the softness in his brown eyes and the gentle slope of his nose. He had made all the first moves in the past. He asked you out on the first date, he initiated your first kiss, he introduced you to his friends and family first. You were done with waiting for him to lead the way.
“Can I kiss you?” you asked.
All his nerves appeared to melt away. He grinned cockily, the exact same grin he donned right before he was about to do something annoying.
“Kissing on public transport is so passé,” he said with a dramatic sigh, even though you were the only people on the train. “We aren’t horny students anymore, we’re grown adults with serious jobs-”
“There’s a juice box sticking out of your bag,” you pointed out, suppressing a laugh.
He moved towards you, his free hand coming up to rest on your cheek. Like your muscles had held onto the memory of his touch all these years, you leant into the familiar warmth of his palm.
“You make a compelling argument,” he muttered, before bringing his lips to yours.
Peppermint. He used peppermint lip balm now.
When was the last time you’d kissed? You couldn’t remember. But you remembered how it felt — the way his lips slotted perfectly between yours, his curve of his hand on your face, the angle of his shoulder exactly where you always held onto him.
When you separated, he pressed a final quick kiss to the corner of your mouth. That was his trademark; he never kissed you without doing that.
“I can’t believe you came back to me,” he said. The diffuse amber of the sunset glazed over his face, making his eyes sparkle. Something about the way he looked at you slowed your heart rate, made you feel sedated.
You ran your thumb over the ring on his index finger, now warmed from the heat of your locked hands.
“Always.”
Not Gone For Long | Quinn Hughes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary: you broke up with Quinn two weeks ago, but what happens when you two run into each other at a bar?
request: yes/no
warnings: none.
word count: 1.63K
authors note: I have had this idea in my head for literal hours icl but since I came up with it I’ve been dying to get it written. This is also my first attempt at writing an imagine for an NHL player, so I hope you like it!
Tumblr media
Never go to bed angry with each other.
That was the first rule that you and Quinn made when you got together and neither one ever believed that if it was broken it would soon bring the end of the relationship, but it did.
The two of you had spent two months fighting before you finally mustered up the courage to pull the plug on the relationship when he was on a two week road trip with the team.
And with that three years of a relationship were sent down the drain.
You never thought that leaving him would be easy. You knew that it would be tough on your heart as he was everywhere you looked, on billboards, the TVs at bars, even on the insides of your eyelids when you attempted to sleep.
Your best friends were your total support system during the last two months as they made sure that you never had more than a few seconds to think about the boy that you loved obviously not counting your time in your bedroom because that’s where he seemed to attack your mind.
The apartment you once dreamed of before Quinn was now the place you called home. It was a one bed place but it was all you needed as you settled back into the mundane life.
Unbeknownst to you Quinn had been a total wreck from the moment he walked back into the apartment to see it in a shell of its former self. If it wasn’t for his teammates he would have knocked on every door in Vancouver until he found you, but when the boys reminded him that you had left when he was gone for a reason it made him want to stay home instead.
Quinn wanted to be mad at you for leaving in the way that you did yet the only thing that replayed through his mind was how the last thing he said to you was “see you soon,” no kiss, not even a hug, he just walked out of the apartment. Leaving you by yourself for the next two weeks.
The moment Ellen learnt about the break up she went was on the next flight over on a mission to comfort her son. That night he cried so hard that his lungs ached and his throat burned.
It didn’t help that the Canucks had been through another subpar season, but his upset state wasn’t helping that as he hadn’t scored since you left. Sometimes he wondered if you still watched his games, each time that he’d skate onto the ice he’d search for your face in the crowd and each time he was left empty handed.
Somehow despite all this, your relationship didn’t actually end on bad terms, you two still loved each other and had truly learnt that absence really does make the heart grow fonder.
The fight that broke the camels back though now felt minuscule, if he didn’t want to come with you on your business trip to Paris you didn’t really care. You’d settle for those two weeks without him rather than the last two months, every day of the week.
Now it was present day and your friends managed to convince you to join them on a night out. It was going to be your first as a single woman. You had even managed to get a smile onto your face, not a fake forced smile but instead a real one.
Yet it felt like a balloon full of water burst above your head as you saw him.
Quinn had been dragged to the same bar by his teammates as they celebrated the fact that the season was over.
Your friend saw that you tensed up and as she followed your line of sight she was quick to apologise “we can go somewhere else if you would like?” She proposed not wanting you to have a bad night.
But as there were five of you in the group this was a moment you didn’t want to be selfish in “this bar is big enough for the two of us.” Your voice was soft as you shook your head not letting your eyes leave the boy as you stared more so in shock.
He looked like he had lost weight, hadn’t shaved so his facial hair was now growing out of control, the curls that you loved but he hated were now proudly sat on his head.
Quinn wished that he had seen his hairdresser though the second he saw you. He actually heard your best friends laugh first, it was funny how the sound irritated him.
When he thought he was dreaming or that his sleep deprived mind was playing tricks on him, he spun his head around locking eyes with you.
His cold beer glass masked the sweatiness of his hands as he chugged the last of the bland liquid before he got up “anyone else need a refill?” He watched as you walked off heading in the direction of the bar.
It was the perfect time to talk to you, yes he knew that it was selfish but part of him just hoped that you were as caught up by the breakup as he was.
So he made his way over to the bar, making sure to avoid the drunken men that walked into his path as he was desperate to never lose sight of your little green dress that he loved so much on you.
You thought he never noticed that when the told you he liked that dress on your first date you went out and bought it in seven other colours. But he did, Quinn noticed everything yet that original dress still remained his favourite.
The familiar sound of your acrylics tapping on the table sent shivers down his spine “hey,” his voice came out like a croak causing your eyes to go wide.
You stared at him through the corner of your eye knowing that if you faced him, it would have been over for you “hi.”
If you two hadn’t broken up his fingers would have been on your jaw forcing you to look at him “can you look at me?” He asked feeling the tears begin to well at his eyes “please?” The beg was enough to make your hearty break all over again.
You looked at him not caring that you makeup was now very much ruined as tears ran down your cheeks “I’m sorry,” you blurted out not knowing what else to say.
But it was also true, you did feel sorry about breaking up with him. You wished that you’d handled things better. Yes this was the best way to protect your heart but besides for that it was the worst possible option for every other thing.
Just like old times Quinn didn’t hesitate to comfort the girl as he wrapped his arms around her pulling her into a hug “I know,” he placed a kiss on your head ignoring how your tears were soaking his shirt.
The coldness of those tears hit him like a dose of reality, you left because the relationship had grown cold.
This was the first time he had hugged you since January, it was now April.
He never meant to stop putting in effort but one day it sort of started and he didn’t know how to stop it. And he was so stressed about hockey that he let the fights you two had fall into the back of his mind.
Whilst he had spent the last two months thinking you were the bad guy, he realised that it had been his fault all along.
That was almost the problem with the whole thing, you each blamed yourselves for putting the knife into the relationship.
Quinn swore that he had been doing it over time and you were just the one to give it the final push.
You finally got your breathing under control causing you to look up at him as your chin rested against the his chest “why are you here?” You asked not trying to be rude but you swore that if you were in his shoes even you wouldn’t want anything to do with yourself.
He let out a soft laugh as he dragged his thumb against your cheek “missed you,” he confessed as he watch the pad of his finger clean in the smudge of your mascara.
Hearing that he must have also had a rough time made you feel sick to your stomach “thought you would have hated me.” You mumbled still thinking that this was all a dream.
Quinn would have been lying if he said that your words didn’t break his heart “could never hate you.” He softly smiled trying to tell you that he meant every word.
As much as he enjoyed being with his friends he wanted to leave “come with me?” He asked holding his hand out for you to grab.
The way his hand interlocked with yours told you that this wasn’t a dream “we should talk somewhere a bit more private.” As much as you wanted to say that you could go back to his apartment and be fine, you knew that things needed to change.
And if they didn’t then you would be having to move on forever.
The stars shone down on Vancouver as you two snuck out of the bar, despite the fact that both friends groups watched the interaction neither decided to stop it.
Sitting in his car that parked at a lookout spot looking over the city as you two ate food from your favourite takeaway restaurant you learnt one thing:
You weren’t letting him go as easy as you did this time.
Oscar the Matchmaker: Chapter Five
Oscar Jack Piastri x Reader x Max Verstappen
Summary: a deep dive into the readers background and a reappearance of a pair she never wanted to see again
Warnings: toxic relationships, mentions of past abuse, reference to SH, mentions and allusions to r*pe and SA, drugging, toxic media
Notes: it's long.... really really long 🫠
Masterlist
Tumblr media
She didn’t hide her past relationship experiences. Partly because she couldn't.
Her and Oscar had been friends for years before they started dating. He'd been with her through many breakups. Most of them messy. Some of them even made him question humanity.
Her first relationship wasn't bad. A small one in high school with a guy. They found that they just weren't made for each other, and that was okay. It ended mutually.
Then, there was some experimentation. A few parties ended in interesting ways.
Then, her first series relationship. This was where she was in love, dated, and then fell in love again. She'd spent nights crying on her floor over it and long ass calls with Oscar, who had no clue what she was on about.
Then she tried to explain. Drunk one night and her brain attempting to throw her in the deep to drown her in dark thoughts. She'd come out to him and it was the first time she truly said it out loud to anyone.
Turns out her partner at the time was listening in and left her because of it. Many filthy words leaving his mouth that had her spiraling for weeks.
So she stopped dating all together. She put all her effort into racing. Her friendship with Oscar was also blooming. They had a way of understanding each other that nobody understood.
She explored having multiple partners. None of it ended well. Mostly couples just looking for a good time. It hurt. She wanted something real, and when they said it was, she was gullible enough to believe them.
In Formula 3, she met a couple. Not on purpose, she'd just been around town, and they started a conversation. One thing led to another, and she ended up being in a trio with them.
She spent a year with them. She thought it was a good year. She wanted so badly for it to be good. But Oscar saw right through what was happening.
They lived together, and she traveled. They lied and manipulated. They used and abused. She felt stuck. But she didn't feel like she could tell anyone to help her out of the situation.
She had to keep up appearances. She couldn't let anyone in. The fear of what it would do to her career at the age of eighteen weighed heavy on her. She was barely an adult!
She struggled that year. Everyone saw it.
Thankfully, her racing was improving. She wasn't winning as much as Oscar, but she was keeping up with him. They got to move up at the same time. The Redbull junior ranks wanted to move her up as soon as possible because of her potential.
Formula 2 was intense. Her partners were basking in the fact she couldn't will herself to leave.
Why did love hurt so much?
Her and Oscar were in her hotel room the night after a race in the early season. The fact that anyone would take advantage of her kindness made him angry. The fact that she'd been used for sex tipped him over the edge.
Then he saw the bruises littering her skin. The thin red lines that she'd definitely given herself. And he lost it.
He was her guardian angel. Helped her cut contact with them.
He'd helped her go get her things. It was the first time she'd even let him into the flat.
Red flag one: her room was separate. Their room was definitely big enough for all three of them, but it's like there was no trace of her.
Red flag two: it's like she only existed as a reprieve to them. There was hardly a trace on her anywhere. There were no pictures of all three of them. Her shoes and coats weren't even in the closet by the door.
She moved in with him after that. Then she just never left.
Neither of them were sure of when it happened. The growing feelings for each other were not going away. So they did something about it.
She was absolutely terrified to lose him. He was all she had in terms of stability. Her family didn't agree with her choices, and even though she stayed in contact, they didn't particularly try to be involved.
They'd taken it so slow. He was so gentle with her. She was the kind soul who wasn't afraid to defend him with her life. He was absolutely smitten.
Still is.
She looks at her two lovers in the press conference with her. Grateful that they are here because she tends to get certain questions that make her eyes roll.
Max loves to answer them for her. Oscar lobes to be sarcastic with them. Either way, it worked out, and she always ended up with a smile on her face.
The three walk through the paddock together. To everyone else, they were just close friends, and Max saw potential in them - or something like that.
Charles and Lando found out the hard way what was going on. Christian is supportive and is always making sure you guys have a safe space if neccecary. Logan has known the female and Aussie for long enough to know that something was going on and figured out out when he saw the three leave together late one night. Yuki was just outright oblivious, and she is grateful for that.
She didn't like people knowing. She'd been called things she never wanted to hear again. She'd had friends leave because of it. She'd lost family over her incessant need to have sex with more than one person. It made her feel gross, and She'd determined the best thing to do was not tell anyone.
Unfortunately, this weekend, she would get outed to the world.
~
Smiles are on the menu today. She couldn't be happier despite the fact her car is ridicoulusly difficult and arguably the slowest on the grid. Her three points are really nothing to scoff at when you take into account that fact.
They are in Silverstone. One of Oscar’s home races and he has new upgrades on his car. Why wouldn’t she be happy about that?
They agreed to meet between practices. The rendezvous being Max’s driver room. Mostly because Christian knew already which made Redbull the best option.
Whilst they were walking, she spots a couple familiar faces in the crowd. Her heart jumps to her throat and her body freezes with a feeling she can’t describe.
They catch her gaze and it’s like her her entire world falls apart. Her breath is heavy as they walk towards her.
Oscar follows her gaze to hopefully see what she’s seeing. He does. The couple walking towards them incredibly familiar.
She can’t register the two attempting to guid her away. Ducking behind corners and opting for the McLaren garage instead since it’s closer. Oscar successfully gets them inside undetected.
His hands are cupping her cheeks. The distant stare not helping his concern.
Max looks between them hurriedly. “What’s going on? I’m worried and I don’t understand why-“
“Her exes are here.”
~
Max wasn’t sure if this technically could be deemed a safety issue, but he doesn’t care. He sneaks his way through to the Redbull garage and locates Christian. The only person he knows who could help them out.
“Christian! Do you have a second to talk privately?”
He spins around on his heels to face Max. “Sure. Everything okay?” They start off in the direction of his office.
“We have an issues.”
“And by we you mean three, right?” They enter the space and Christian closes the door behind them and takes his seat at the desk.
He nods to confirm. “Her exes are here.”
“Your going to have to explain to me why that’s an issue. I don’t doubt there is one, but I can’t help if I don’t understand.” Christian had always been good at helping him understand exactly what he means.
“They abused her in ways that I can’t describe.” Max grimaces at the words. She’d told him the story. She’d struggled to breathe as she did so.
Christian leans forward over the desk. His gaze turned up to Max who decided not to sit. “I can’t make any promises, but I’ll see what I can do.”
“Thank you.” Max’s voices is threaded with appreciation.
~
There was still no word from Christian when practice two starts. Max and Oscar had made sure she was safe before leaving her at her garage. It was terrifying being alone knowing that they are around.
She was under the assumption she’d never have to see them again. They didn’t follow racing vigorously and they lived in separate places. she probably let herself get to comfortable in that thought.
Practice two was harder but she managed to get some good laps in. She’s much less excited about getting out of her car. Leaving the car means talking to people and that was something she didn’t feel like doing at the moment.
she coax’s herself out of the car and slips into her driver room to catch a breather. Her phone buzzes in her pocket and she prays that it’s one or both of her lovers.
It’s not. Instead all of her phone is lighting up with messages from the PR team. Her mind goes blank reading the messages over and over again.
“We need to have an emergency meeting.”
~
She tried to listen, but everything was underwater. Franz and the PR team are seated around the table looking at the posts. Then looking at her. Then back at the screen.
Her exes had not so subtly posted pictures very clearly showing that the three of them were together at some point. The captions making bold allegations against her and what she supposedly did to them.
She knows the team can see she’s trying her best. Her performance coach came to sit with her when she saw the young drivers puffy red eyes.
She didn’t want anyone to know and now it’s out for the whole world to see.
Her manager goes over things with her before the separate for the evening. She’s not to say anything about it because technically speaking it’s not their business. She can choose not to answer.
Explaining to her team her story also wasn’t fun, but they needed to know. It did ease the pain when they all believed her.
She has yet to text either of her partners. They’d probably heard about it already.
She just slips back into her room in the motorhome and pretends things are okay for the moment.
~
Oscar didn’t know what to expect when Lando came into his room without even bothering to knock. At least he has clothes on this time.
“Mate! Have you heard from Y/N?” Lando scrolls through something on his phone. Despite his lack boundaries at times, the Brit is a good friend and is fiercely protective of the three of them.
“No? Is she okay?” Oscar can clearly see the anxiety in his body language. It’s concerning after the encounter earlier today.
“You may want to find her. I was on Twitter earlier, and these pictures with her exes, I’m assuming, keep popping up. They’re saying some nasty things about her. Like she used them or something.”
Oscar snatches Lando’s phone out of his hand. The pictures are awful to look at. She looked trashed. He remembered that night all to well. It was after this he’d helped her get out.
She’d been refusing them. Trying to keep them at a distance so she could eventually just leave. They weren’t getting what they wanted so they’d spiked her drink. She called him at around four in the morning, her voice broken and confused.
He’d gone to get her. It took everything in him not go inside and confront the two who did it. Then he spent the entire night cleaning her up. She was bruise and bleeding and shaking in fear over the fact she didn’t know what happened.
Now those pictures of her that she probably has no recollection of them taking are on the internet for everyone to see. Even more was that she’s being out to be the villain.
“I’ve only ever see you angry one time, but you have that look in your eye that makes you look like your plotting a murder.”
~
Max had a smooth FP2 and is now having a friendly conversation with GP. His race engineer confirming a few things and talking about some upcoming vacation plans.
Max smiles when he sees Christian approach the two. The other, however, looks solemn. “Max, have you looked at your phone recently?”
“No, why?”
“And you’ve seen no social media?”
“I don’t really like being on it, so also no. What’s going on?” Max is a bit frustrated now that his team principal isn’t telling him something.
“I’ll explain on the way there. We’re going to the AlphaTauri garage.”
Christian tugs Max along, and the Dutch sends the engineer an apologetic smile before walking next to Christian. “Please give me some context. I have no idea what’s happening.”
"Someone leaked photos of y/n. They aren't good, and they are saying she's the aggressor."
Did Max ever think he would be suppressing a litteral growl? No. But he is. The urge to hit something is becoming incredibly difficult to suppress.
The questions enter his brain at a pace he can't keep up with. Why would they do that? Is Oscar with her? Is she going to be okay?
The walk there is a blur. His mind to be occupied to register it until they get in the conference room. He assumes Christian told him what was going to happen on the way, but he was listening.
He feels slightly better when he spots the bright papaya color of Oscar, Zak, Mark, and someone who he assumes is Oscar's PR manager.
Max's PR manager is also at the table along with y/n's team. Though, the girl herself is missing. "Where is she?"
"Her trainer is trying to coax her out of her room." Comes the familiar voice of Franz Tost. He's a stern man. He has to be when he's dealing with rookies and drivers in their early careers all the time. Yet he can see the concern on his face.
Then Max makes eye contact with Oscar. Neither of them say anything, but it's obvious they are both frustrated. "And I'm assuming now that everyone in this room knows?"
All of them stare at him with confusion. Except for Oscar, who is mentally face palming at his partners current obliviousness. "No, only Christian does. I was here as emotional support as were you." Pipes the Aussie. Max groans in defeat.
Everyone looks between them expectantly. So Max looks at Christian, who nods his head, then at Oscar, who also nods.
"The three of us are dating."
To say there were a few shocked faces is an understatment.
~
She doesn't move when her pysio opens the door. She doesn't move when she hears Oscar and Max. She doesn't move when they sit next to her, and the door closes behind, leaving the three on their own.
"I know you don't want to right now, but there are people who want to help make this better waiting for us in the conference room." Max is straightforward and yet gentle at the same time. His hand on her knee is a reminder that she's not yet a ghost.
Still, she doesn't move. "Max may have outed us to the people in there." Oscar chuckles and attempts to lighten the mood. She smiles just a tad when Max grains and mumbles something under his breath.
"Were they upset?" She questions. Voice small and cracked from her previous crying.
"Nope. Not at all." Max kisses her head and Oscar gets up off the floor.
"Originally, the plan was that the two of us would make statements since we're 'close,' but now they reckon we should just come out to the world."
"Wouldn't that make things worse?"
"Not if we show everyone how happy you make us and how you wouldn't hurt a fly."
She takes a deep breath in and let's the boys help her up.
~
It was a terribly long meeting, and they are all exhausted.
The good outcome was that they would have the full support of their teams, and everything would come out on Monday.
The bad part is that she still has to get through this weekend. It's terrifying to think about.
They coached her through every possible question she might get asked. Again, terrifying. She didn't want the world to know nothing about this, and here she is, trying to memorize answers about what happened in a vague sense.
They slept in Max's room. The fear of leaving the conference room was so bad that Christian and her trainer actually made sure everything was clear before they left. The way up to the hotel room wasn't any better.
The two males had tried to get her to sleep, but her brain refused. Her thoughts on overdrive all night and into the early hours of the morning.
She didn't go anywhere without her headphones in the next day. The fans had lost their minds. People were calling for her to be replaced.
Her team made sure they kept people away from her. Some were becoming more aggressive, and it was unerving walking around.
The Redbull team had done its best to keep her and Max in close proximity to each other. While McLaren couldn't do that, Oscar was aloud to step away if needed.
Qualifying went about as well as it normally did for her. But she was still happy with her lovers. Oscar managed to qualify third, and Max is on pole next to one of his closest friends.
She got ushered off to get her interviews out of the way early. The hope being she wouldn’t have to deal with to many questions about the photos because of her less then ideal qualifying.
Her PR manager spent more time pulling her away from the invasive reporters then she spent answering questions. All she wanted wanted was to disappear by the end of it.
Thankfully they gave her time to breath before the debrief. They didn’t ask to much of her there either.
Yuki caught up with her afterward. They talked, but she wasn't engaged. She felt guilty because she knew he was trying to distract her while she waited to go back to the safety of the hotel.
Obviously, he knows now. There was no way of not telling him. He is spared all the details, but he is also supportive and is trying to be a good friend. Something she is grateful for while navigating this weekend.
~
Finally, it’s race day. The feeling of almost being done with the weekend makes her ecstatic to get in the car.
The booing from the crowd is downright unbearable. It’s once again the reason she has headphones in. Max and Oscar had been struggling with not intervening all weekend. The only thing stopping them being their plans come Monday.
Another race with an unsatisfying result. And to top it all of the media is asking her if it’s karma. Usually her PR manager is level headed, but now she looks like she’s ready to give her own statement.
Max had won and Oscar is fourth. She wants nothing more then to celebrate the fact the Aussie among them finally has a good car. But she can’t seem to pull her head out of the water. She’s drowning and she knows it.
She ends up catching a ride with Yuki back to their hotel. The hote that she was staying on regardless because max has the same one. It was convenient for the most part.
she does not go to his room however. She goes straight to hers and collapses onto the bed. Untouched and clean since she hadn’t touched it til now.
As much as she tries to stop them, the feeling of inadequacy and guilt creep around her skin. The idea that her two lovers would have an easier time without her finds the front of her brain. It’s suffocating.
Maybe this is all karma or something similar. Maybe she’s finally getting what she deserves.
Her phone buzzes in her pocket. She doesn’t take it out.
Then a knock at the door. Then another. And another.
Enough for her to get up and open it. Her mind assuming that it’s the boys looking for her.
She tries to put a smile on her face as she swings it open. Only for her exes to be standing on the otherside
~
Osacar looks at Max worriedly when the third call goes to voicemail. She’d sent them a text hours ago when she left the track. the two of them had been held up with post team celebrations and discussions.
Now they stand in Max’s hotel room that is noticeably lacking said female. They’d checked everywhere. Even in inconvenient places like cupboards and drawers.
“Do you think she’s in a different room?” Shouts Max from a different room.
“Like mine or hers?” He clarifies.
“We’ll think about what Yuki said.” Oscar thinks back to when they’d caught the shorter driver before they were taken to the media pen. He’d mentioned that his teammate felt she was upset when Oscar had an amazing race. He’d not thought about it much then. He’d had a feeling it would be hard and he was fine with it. But now-
“She’s isolating because of the guilt.”
It was one of her worst habits. When she feels guilty, she’ll shut them out and isolate herself even if she’s done nothing wrong. The anxiety throwing her into dark places that frankly scare the two males.
The first place they check is her room since it’s in the same building. A mere three floors below them.
They decided the stairs will be faster then waiting for the lift. Oscar almost trips down the steps which would make it faster, but it would also hurt. He blames the nerves for making it harder to control his body.
When him and Max are in front of her door, Max takes out the extra key card that he has. After Lando stole his room key, they made sure to get extras for each other. Something he's so glad they decided to so this weekend.
Max takes the lead this time around, putting himself between Oscar and the door then gently pushing it open. It opens with a small creak and the first thing Oscar notices is the sound of running water accompanied by an unfamiliar female voice.
The Aussie pleads with whatever higher power will hear him that it’s not her exes. Whispered begs fall from his lips as Max continues forward.
Clothes on the floor. Furniture knocked over. The bed sheets a mess.
Oscar is grateful that her room is smaller then Max’s. Everything is more compact and visible once you get past the entry.
Max looks around a bit and the Australian can hear his breathing pick up. Then he strides over to a corner in the room that Oscar couldn’t see due to Max being in the way.
What he sees after he moves breaks him. He wants to scream in anger. Let every person in the vicinity know just how fucked up this world is.
Her body lay curled in the corner, unconscious and naked. Bruises have started forming around her neck and thighs.
It takes Max mere seconds to be down at her side. Yet Oscsr can't seem to move his body. The overwhelming anger clouding his mind makes it hard for him to decided.
Max has her in his arms, assessing the damage done. Supposedly, whoever did this is in the shower.
"She needs a hospital." Oscar snaps out of his trance. Max is trying to tell him what's wrong with her, but he can't get his mind to focus. "I think I have an idea, but you have to trust me."
Oscar shakily nods his head to show he's listening. "What's the plan?"
~
Max looks at the girl him and Oscar wrapped so gently in a blanket. Lando looks at her and the bathroom door. "Why haven't you knocked their teeth out yet."
"Legal reasons, which is why you're waiting here with Oscar for the authorities. You're to keep them here while I get her to the hospital."
Oscar looks distantly at the girl, and Max can see the pain in his face. He'd been through this once with her already. The Australian wants to see them put away so badly.
Max had originally offered himself to stay with and wait. He knows the connection between the two in this is something he doesn't fully understand. But Oscar needs the closure more then him. He needs to see this through and he made that very clear to Max.
He places a kiss on Oscar's head before leaving. "Let me know when things are tied up, okay?" He hums, but Max can still see him staring. The familiar look of white knuckles gripping so hard at nothing.
With that, Max leaves the space and makes it to his car through back entrances. The staff understands completely and helps his get through the doors.
He made a point to warn them about the authorities arriving sometime soon. Though he's not sure when.
He also thanks himself for sprinting back up to his room to grab her clothes. Well- not her clothes. Max and Oscar's clothes because she likes them better. At this point, he just wants to make her as comfortable as possible, so he can't be bothered to care. Their clothes look cute on her anyway.
He sets her in the passenger seat and speeds off to the nearest hospital. It takes a few minutes to get there. The night traffic of the weekend still steadily makes its way through.
Finally, he pulls into the emergency entrance and runs her into the waiting room where hopefully somone can help.
Something inside him snaps, however, when he's being forced away from her. The nurses are trying to speak with him, but he can't hear what their saying as he watches them take her away.
Eventually, he's calmed himself down enough to answer their questions. Specifically the ones about her safety and if he knows her. The most awkward was explaining their occupation. Until someone recognized him, and then all hell broke loose, and they had to take him somewhere private.
The wait was terrible. He had to call Christian to help him get through it. The older man told him he'd get things sorted with her team and then come to meet him.
He almost fell out of his chair when Oscar's contact lit up his screen.
"Oscar! Everything okay? Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. Lando and I are getting ready to head to the hospital."
Max sighs with relief, but he can't help to notice the slight edge in his voice. "Did something happen?"
"Max... he said she deserved it. They both mocked her for leaving them. I couldn't take it anymore, so I hit him." The crack in Oscar's voice made the Dutch wince. "Lando pulled me off, and the authorities grabbed him before we could continue fighting."
"It's alright now, Jack. I know that angry feeling. But you can rest now knowing that they aren't going to be around ever again."
Max can hear the little sniffles and Lando's voice in the background telling them it's time to go.
"I love you, schat."
"I love you too, Maxy."
~
Her head hurts. Her body hurts. Her eyes hurt.
The steady beeping of machines and alcohol smell is doing nothing to help. Where is she?
She cracks her eyes open just a tad. Only to be met with white walls and the soft yellow of dim lights.
She mover her head around gently. An attempt at getting her surroundings.
Hospital. She's definitely in a hospital.
Oh god.
The memories from earlier play in her mind. They way they'd said they just wanted to talk. She was stupid to believe yet not strong enough to slam the door on their faces.
They did talk at first. Kind, like how they treated her before. Like when she thought she loved them. Maybe she did at one point, and that's how they got her.
She was dumb enough to leave her water glass in front of them. Idiotic enough to turn her back for a moment.
They spiked her drink with something, and it was all over from there. It felt and looked like they were trying to stage something.
She fought so hard. They just had the advantage. Like they've aways had. Two against one who's drugged is never a fair fight.
The beeping from the machine gets faster, and she finds herself entirely too hot and nauseous to continue lying down.
She shoots upwards, startling someone from outside the door. Her voice is hoarse as she screams for a bucket or something to which she ends up spilling her guts into. Their timing was impeccable.
"Are- are Max and Oscar here?" She asks a nurse when things calm down. The nurse says something, but the girl only registers the soft 'yes' that comes out of the nurses mouth.
The tears of relief pool in her eyes when she sees them. The two are quick to her side. She can see them trying to be strong for her. But she can see the tear tracks on both and Oscar's wrapped knuckles.
The nurses leave them alone for the time being. None of them broke the silence that lay between. Not that she could say anything if she wanted. The sobs were making it difficult to speak.
"They went away. They can't hurt you anymore." It's Oscar first.
She looks at him with something mimicking confusion. "I don't understand." She switchs her gaze between them.
Max intertwines her hand with his while Oscar sits on the edge of the bed. "We found you." Explains the Dutch. They were still there and so we called the authorities. We shouldn't ever see them again."
The weight that's been sitting on her chest for almost two years is lifted. She can breathe again. The deep wounds are certainly far from healed, but just knowing that they won't be coming close to her again brings a sense of justice.
~
Apparently, she'd been heavily drugged and was on the verge of death for a couple of minutes. It's given her a new perspective that she should live life less afraid then she has been.
Who cares if people see her as a slut? Who are the to judge!
Her hospital is currently home to Lando, Oscar, and Max. The three are preparing to send out the post that they'd originally planned as something else.
But with everything that's happened, a leaked video of Oscar's fight and someone tweeting that they saw Max at the hospital, plans had to change.
They all posted the same photo of the three of them on her bed. It's a cute picture even though she looks halfway to dead. Lando claims she shouldn't say anything because he's a great photographer.
It was terrifying, to say the least. The entirety of Redbull put out a statement last night. Nothing in depth about what happened, just what people are bound to find out given time.
Lando took their phones so they can't look at anything people are saying. Completely unplugged until they are forced to go back to racing.
She looked at the boys who were smiling because she was simply awake. Something she's not sure she could've seen herself doing a couple of years ago. And even if she's going to have to work on moving forward, at least she knows that she has two boys who aren't leaving her side.
Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Chapter 4
Chapter 5 - ‘You’re Mine’
When you woke up the next morning you saw the white bedding crumpled around you. You definitely were not at home. Remembering exactly where you were, exactly whose king sized bed you were in, his deep rich scent encasing you. The warm sheet slid over your body, a reminder that you were also completely naked. The realizations about your circumstances came one by one. The morning light flooded into the room illuminating clearly very well moisturized skin a top of yours. You identified the heavy weight crushing your waist to be his arm. You stared down at it, scared to even breathe in case it would awake him. You squeezed your eyes tight with nervousness, then opened them as wide as you could fixating onto the hotel wall. You mouthed silently ‘what the fuck!.’
What world were you living in that you were walking up in Trent Alexander Arnold’s hotel room, naked in his bed nonetheless. You could hear him breathe a little behind you as you focused more on his presence. You continued staring at his strong arm draped over you, his warm tanned skin looked so soft and rich, a white gold Van Clef Alhambra bracelet dangled off his wrist. He actually might be perfect and you felt a little sick at his flawlessness.
You shut your eyes again thinking of ways how to not be awkward about this, how to say goodbye. This was about to be a very bizarre walk of shame because a part of you wasn’t shameful at all but proud of what you’d accomplished. In a way you wanted to shower him with thank yous for the most amazing night but the real feelings you had rapidly developed for him terrified you. You tried to take a slow breath in without moving too much, still afraid of waking him. Despite your best efforts, Trent groaned a little. His dangling hand came down on your stomach gripping and pulling your body flush back against his.
You were made very aware again you were naked, feeling his body behind yours. You were trying to ignore the feeling of his semi and his tight grip by just staring straight ahead when you felt a lazy, hard, wet kiss on the back of your neck.
Goosebumps arose all over you, squeezing your eyes shut once more. ‘Fuck’ you mouthed panicking. You felt him shuffle a little more and pull you somehow even closer. He hummed while placing another sleepy kiss on the back of your neck.
‘Morning baby” Trent grumbled out in an incredibly, unintentionally, sexy morning voice. His eyes still closed, he wrapped himself around your warm body kissing all over your back now. This wasn’t fair. You didn’t even want to look at him, you couldn’t. His eyes would tear your heart to shreds. You knew you’d feel like a fool for letting yourself get emotionally invested in more than sex with him. He was a famous international footballer, he had no ties and you were finding yourself completely roped down for him.
Another, slightly more crazed, part of you had envisioned a relationship. A delusion you had dreamt of. Waking up in his arms, going to his games, sharing a life together, falling in love with him…‘oh god’ you thought. You cannot even believe overnight you became the type of girl who was falling in love with a one night stand and dreaming of playing house. Your fantasy came to a crashing halt when you heard his voice again.
“C’mere” he sleepily said, pulling at you some more. You almost didn’t respond paralyzed in fear but you just managed to shake your head ‘no.’
“Baby” he whispered into the shell of your ear.
“No” you hummed quietly. Trent’s eyes opening at the rejection. What the fuck? He actually was a little taken aback. He was so good to you yesterday. He thought this was perfect and you were acting like you didn’t want to be waking up there.
“No?” He questioned hoping you’d give him a reason. With slightly deluded confidence that no one could ever say no to him he kissed you again this time more intently on your neck.
“T…I can’t” you sheepishly said, hiding from him still.
“Can’t what?” He asked, not understanding… he waited for your response trying to be patient but he was feeling childish, tired, and not happy with this so he spoke again before you.
“C’mere please. I want to cuddle with you.” His lips now moving completely against your skin. You knew you wouldn’t win this fight so you caved turning to him deciding you would just relish in the last moments under his touch. You placed your forehead on his arm in an effort to still avoid his eyes.
“Seriously C’mere...” Trent started to laugh knowing he had you. He pulled your thigh over top of him almost entirely so you were now laying on top of him. Pretending to not like your new position you held your cheek to his chest. He placed a kiss to your head. “Why you being like this, huh?” He said now nuzzling into you.
“Baby” you sighed at how irresistibly and impossibly cute he was.
“Fuck me? Sure. But you’re drawing the line at cuddles?” Trent laughed at his own statement. “ Y/N, I told you last night I like you.. a lot. You’re all mine, beautiful.” He cooed but still in a very serious tone.
You reluctantly picked your head up off his chest. You looked into his big eyes. He looked so sleepy, so endearing, so beautiful, it actually made you frown a little. This really wasn’t fair.
“You’re going to hurt me..” you apprehensively said your eyes full of sadness. Trent’s full cheeks hallowed a little, his brow furrowed.
“Why would I do that?” He innocently asked.
“Trent…” you paused trying to get him to clue into how this whole thing was ending the second you left the hotel. “Honestly…” you thought a little about what you were going to say but said fuck it at this point, “You’re right.” Trent’s face changed trying to figure out what you were on about. “I am completely yours. It’s bad, I’m not sure what the hell your deal is, if you do this to every girl, but… me? I can’t handle emotions like this and then just move on with life. I’m becoming grossly obsessed with you and it’s embarrassing and I’ve never been so submissive to a guy before. It's been a few hours of knowing you! It’s not fair that you just get to go home after this.” You continued to rant. A smile crept across Trent’s face and if it wasn’t so pretty it would’ve annoyed you.
“Come back home with me then.” He suggested like he was asking if you wanted to go get a coffee.
“This! This is what I’m talking about, stop doing this to me.” Your voice raised a little but it trailed off into laughter at how insane this was.
“What you laughing for? I’m so serious. Please.” Trent was genuinely now begging. “I don’t want to be without you, unequivocally mine now. Not having it any other way. Yeah? What do you think?” He nodded his head a little trying to convince you.
“You’re insane. I can’t go with you.” You laughed. “Plus on a more realistic side you won’t even be there…you have preseason in yet another country.”
“See now we’re getting somewhere..” Trent said smug you had begun to even think about logistics.
“No.. no.” You denied him. The irony of this entire ridiculous conversation was that you two were wrapped up cuddling, neither of you wanting to move. You were so happy laying on his chest, his hand stroking your bare back. You thought maybe you were just entertaining the stupid idea at first to lay together longer, hear his voice a little more but you suddenly felt like maybe he was convincing you.
“Alright, alright. I’ll level with you a little. You stay with me the next few days here. Spend time with me. Let me show you how great I am.” He was serious but started to joke at the end of his sentence.
“You’re actually out of your mind. This is the stupidest idea…” you spoke before he cut you off.
“Don’t deprive me of waking up to you everyday… even if you’ll try to ignore me, I still want it.” He held you tighter to his chest, kissing your head again.
“Stop! This is the stupidest idea but …” you huffed and sighed pathetically at what you were about to say. “for some reason I’m in.” You smiled goofily, placing your chin onto his chest by tilting your head. Trent stared at you mystified at first he had got his way but quickly his face fell to a shit-eating grin.
“Some reason…Huh?” He questioned you teasingly. You just hummed back.
“That reason is me. You like me as much as I like you baby, come on just give in to this.” Trent cooed at you pushing his lips towards yours. You felt all your walls come crumbling down. You relaxed into his body some more in contentment.
“T…” you sighed. His hands all over your body in the most caring way.
“You’re all mine baby” he whispered into your head.
“Do you always get what you want?” You pretended to be annoyed.
“Mmmhmm” Trent hummed with an equally goofy smile. You knew this was absolutely delusional but at least he was with you in the delusion. The sound of the hotel door unlocking and opening pulled you both out of fool’s paradise.
“It’s literally past noon, Trent. Get the fuck up.” You recognized his brother's voice echoing through the room.
“I’m so hungry, please!” His friend slumped, eyes closed onto a chair in the room. You smiled shyly, hiding your face into Trent’s chest as he pulled the comforter over your bare back.
“Sorry, you okay?” Trent whispered to you. You nodded. Pulling the comforter completely over your head. Trent laughed at you, placing his arms atop the comforter. The boys who had entered turned to look at him essentially giggling at nothing in the other room.
“Good mornnninggg Y/N” Marcel said slyly acknowledging your poor attempt at hiding. “But bro.. it’s also past noon and you need to get the fuck up” he said changing his tone now talking to Trent.
“Alright, okay. I’m getting up.” Trent shifted his back to lean up against the headboard still keeping you pressed to him. You kissed his naked chest. “I’ve just gotta shower first,” he continued.
“Y/N sticking around?” Tyler asked Trent blatantly in front of you. Your face was so tight to Trent’s skin you couldn’t see the face he gave in response to the question confirming you were in fact staying.
The boys left you two back in bed with another serious warning to get up. You giggled a little at what Trent and you were deciding to do and how crazy the boys were going to think you were once they found out.
“If you actually want me to stay, I do have to go back to my place to get some things.” You looked up at Trent.
“Yeah, course. I’ll take you.” He assured you before his phone rang. You gave him a sweet look telling him to answer so he did.
“Hey mum…” he spoke. You almost audibly gasped digging your face into his skin mortified but it only amplified your embarrassment feeling him naked beneath you. You could slightly make out his mum’s words on the other end of the call, ‘everyone behaving?’ “Yeah, yeah.” Trent yawned still on the phone. “Miss you too.” He stayed completely cool the whole time rubbing his thumb over your spine low on your back. “Love you” he said finishing his conversation, hanging up.
“Sorry baby” he cooed. “If I didn’t answer… out of the country with my brothers.. she’d get nervous. It’s not all the time I swear.” He kind of jumped around in his sentence.
“If you didn’t answer a call from your mum I think I’d be worried… probably would’ve preferred to be clothed rather than on top of you for it but I like that you talk to her.” You were candid. He just laughed a little before his phone began buzzing with another call again. You smiled nodding for him to answer but this time you heard an unexpected iPhone noise.
“Yo bro” Trent greeted, his arm lifting off you placing the hand holding his phone to rest atop your head. It was in that moment you were aware that this was a facetime.
What was going on that your morning alone with Trent was being laced with interactions with so many people in his life… you would’ve felt really happy with him feeling so comfortable with you but again… you were naked in bed with him as these exchanges happened so instead you felt self conscious.
“Yoo, you still in the US?” A voice asked from the phone sounding familiar but you couldn’t place it.
“Yeah, yeah man” Trent confirmed
“Marc sent me an interesting snap last night…” the boy dragged his words out.
“Of…” Trent didn’t look shy but he sounded apprehensive.
“You bro…got yourself an American ting?” The two boys laughed. Talking openly about you like you weren't right there, your head acting as a stand for Trent’s phone.
“Nah, honestly she’s well fit, like beyond sexy.” Trent spoke in a casual way. “I’ll send you her instagram, mate.” You bit a spot on Trent’s skin lightly before kissing over it reminding him of your presence.
“Ow!” Trent pretended it hurt, complaining quietly with a stupid smile on his face. The boy on the phone tried to grab his attention back wanting to hear more. The conversation between them continued on for longer than you thought it would. When he finally hung up again he pulled you up for a kiss, the comforter falling almost completely uncovering you.
“So” you spoke before kissing into his lips a little more before pulling away again “So” kissing him once more “popular, baby” then falling into a deeper kiss. He didn’t really acknowledge the comment, just focusing on your lips.
“Going to tell me who you were talking to about me?” You asked.
“Only Jude, baby. You know your ‘brum boy’” Trent revealed poking fun at the ‘Brum Boy or Scouser’ song discourse yesterday.
“Gotcha” you pretended you didn’t care but internally you were a little too giddy at the image or those two faces sharing one screen but it quickly subsided at the thought of your instagram being inspected by the pair.
“Didn’t know you had my Instagram ya know?” You cheekily poked at Trent
“Baby… I had to know a little something. I wasn’t going to go into last night totally blind.” He tried to defend himself
“So.. is it okay? What’d you think? You’re sending it to Jude?” You asked a myriad of questions honestly.
“You’re beautiful in person, in photos, in blurry videos posted by your friends, baby you are… you are perfect.” Trent babbling a little lost in your features. You placed a soft kiss on his plump lips and then started kissing him with more passion. Things quickly unfolding. You slid your hand down his abs and around semi hard cock. Trent moaned a little at your touch and the sound had your mouth watering.
“Do you still need more of me?” You said smugly now, raising your hips to hover over his pulsing cock lined perfectly above your entrance. You soon felt Trent’s hand on your back, pushing you down.
“Need all of you” Trent mumbled just loud enough for you to hear. You lost any control you had when he was fully inside. The force and pace of his thrusts increased and so did the volume of both your moans. You sat back to ride him. His hands sliding up your stomach to grab onto your nipples. The pleasure was almost too much as he helped you move on top of him. In a swift motion he flipped you over to be on top of you.
“You’re such a good girl, so fucking wet for me.” He said, dragging his cock slowly out of you and watching himself push all the way back in. You looked so full, Trent couldn’t help but imagine how full you would look with his cum dripping out of you. He didn’t get a chance to truly appreciate it last night and he was determined to fuck you full of his cum. His hand pushed your thighs further down so he could reach deeper when his thrusts became a little sloppier.
“Fuck, oh my god…" you cried out, the climax building up inside of you almost unbearable before you both reached your highs embarrassingly quickly. You couldn’t help the juices dripping down your legs as he fucked his load into you. He plunged his cock in and out a few more times, his cum leaking out of your pussy as he dragged himself out slowly.
“Fuck, baby. You’re fucking perfect, your pussy’s so perfect for me, made for my cock.” Trent spoke between heaving breaths.
“Mmhmm T.” You could barely get any words out completely spent.
“Baby, can I take a picture? Just f’me. Please.” He begged.
“Hmm?” You questioned of what.
“Look so good with my cum dripping out of you.” He said dragging his fingers back through your folds. You giggled a little. If you were going to let anyone take such an intimate photo of you, you were okay with it being Trent.
“Yeah, go on. Can take a picture of what’s yours.” You said leaning back into the pillow arching your back, sucking your stomach in, opening your legs further ever so slightly. He grabbed his phone getting unbelievably close to your core. The smile on his face was adorable, he was completely infatuated. After he got what he wanted he held his phone above you and you squirmed trying to hide but you were completely on display.
“Just f’me baby” he said tilting your face to him then pinning your one arm down to prevent you from trying to cover your body or face. You didn’t really have any option but you were flattered he wanted a picture.
“Such a good girl, so beautiful,” he said, finally letting you close your legs a little and laying completely on top of you.
“Ugh … you’re so …heavy, oh my god!” You jokingly yelled between contrived breaths being crushed by Trent.
“I am not at all… that’s so mean. I work out… like a lot. I thought you said I looked..” he was ranting trying to defend his weight.
“T, I’m joking you're perfect” you gave him a kiss. “You’re beautiful,” you gave him another kiss “your body is very, very, very sexy” and another kiss “but also your entire weight on me right this second is heavy” you finished laughing.
“Wow, I see how it is” Trent said, rolling on his side pulling you back into his body. His hand running up and down your arm.
“I think you’re ‘leng,’ T, relax” you tried to reduce his fake annoyance by making fun of a word he and his friends had been tossing around last night.
“I actually am, thank you.” He quipped back “You using ‘leng’ now? Define it for me then… go on.” He pushed
“You’re exhausting baby” you said ignoring him before pressing another kiss to his lips.
“So you want me to go with you to grab a bag from your place for the week?” Trent wasn’t going to let you forget what you had agreed to but you hadn’t you were actually really excited now.
“Erm, if you want… if you do come, you’re waiting downstairs for me though.” You told him sternly. It was sweet he was offering and you wouldn’t mind his company but you were still trying to protect yourself. If this all were to go horribly, horribly wrong you were not letting yourself have any memories of this man in your home. You wouldn’t be able to bear remembering that this actually happened.
“Is it because I am too leng?” He asked with a big smile making fun of you.
“Yes, yes, it’s exactly that.” You laughed a little, pressing a kiss into his temple.
“Alright, let’s get your stuff so you can see more of how great I am and I can book your flight to Liverpool'' you groaned at his light hearted arrogance.
You both finally got dressed and opted to walk to your apartment from his hotel, hand in hand, the summer sun beating on you. Every block you walked you felt yourself become more and more enraptured in him. Trent spoke to you like he was no one but every so often a head would turn and stare a second too long, a kid across the street would take a photo, the attention made you a little apprehensive. You pulled your hand from his nonchalantly, hopefully sparing him a Daily Mail headline about a ‘holiday fling.’
“Where you going?” He said to you, grabbing at your hand again. Lacing his fingers through yours pulling the back of it up to his lips before placing a kiss.
“Just didn’t know if you’d want something to be documented… or like I don’t know assumptions made.. “ you sort of stuttered beating around the bush.
“Baby…I’m telling you now, if I did not want to hold someone’s hand in public...” he paused, pulling your hand back to his lips for another kiss. “I definitely wouldn’t”
“Yeah?” You asked shyly.
“I promise you, beautiful. Plus, you’re not a bad looking girl to be photographed with, wouldn’t exactly hurt my image.” He mused
“Your image!… Oh my god, You’re the absolute most!” You feigned annoyance.
“Nah, but it’s just you and me. Okay? Not really concerned about anyone else.” He continued.
“Trent…” you questioned his sincerity.
“Baby, I told you. You’re mine so I’m going to do what I want with you, I’m going to hold your hand. Okay by you?” He said finally arriving at your building.
“Yeah, whatever you want I guess” You hummed, happy with his possessiveness.
“I want to be with you. I don’t want to involve anyone else. I just want to keep you to myself.”
“So you're hiding me?” You questioned now thinking a little too much about your situation; his reality and how you fit.
“Nah, no. Would maybe use the word protecting if anything. It’s just a shitty thing once people know too much. Promise. People can know I’m wrapped up but anything outside of that… details… doesn’t involve them.” He tried to explain.
“Wrapped up?” You asked.
“I think so, I don’t really know how else to say it” he said, no longer making eye contact with you. Trent definitely had you wrapped up. You were completely wrapped around his finger. He could’ve told you he was using you for sex or he wanted to get married tonight either way you would have agreed.
“Afternoon Ms. Y/N” your doorman spoke as you walked through your lobby.
“Hi yeah, you okay?” You returned, your doorman giving you a quizzical look as Trent continued to hold onto your hand. You picked up his hand with yours to show the doorman. You knew him well enough to know he recognized Trent, you two often discussing football.
“My friend, Trent.” You said
“Nice to meet you sir. Take care of her. If you need anything let me know per usual.” He said courteously looking from Trent to you.
“He knows you wellll. Bring a lot of lads through here?” Trent poked.
“Literally. Never” you quipped walking to the lift. “But he also knows I have a crush on you because we talked about our favorite footballers once and he put two and two together so this will be embarrassing when you ghost me” You continued..
“Aww I’m your favorite player babyyyy.” He patronized you teasingly. “But back up a minute... you think I’m crazy? You're nuts! Just let me like you, I’m not ghosting you!” He said taking a step into the lift after you.
“No, no, no. You’re staying here.” You said pointing to a lounge across from you. “Get out.” Pushing him lightly, physically out of the lift, giggling a little.
“Thought you were kidding but fine…Maybe I’ll go to talk to your doorman about your favorite player, learn a little something” Trent joked.
“Not funny. Stay here.” You said sternly as the door started to close. “I’m serious, T!” You cried out before it shut entirely.
Thank you for continuing reading! I hope you enjoyed it. Please let me know what you think or if you have any thoughts/ questions! 🤍
This Must Be The Place: Chapter 9 - Say goodnight
Biker!Bucky x Femme Reader
Back at your beloved late grandmother's home to pack up her house, you have a run-in with the town's biker gang 'The Howling Commandos' and find yourself entangled with the metal armed President.
Series Masterlist
Warnings: Some smut…insecurities in reader
I’m back! I’ve been a bit caught up with work and parenting so things have been a little crazy. Hoping I should have more time coming up to dedicate to this! Apologies in advance…this is a little smut/fluff to warm us up before we get into the angst next chapter (I’m sorry) As always, your reblogs and comments mean the world – it’s lovely to see people engaging with his story!
Tumblr media
You slugged him hard on the shoulder, something you seemed to be doing a lot lately.
“Really? That’s all you have to say?” you scolded, still slightly breathless.
Annoyed, you tensed up and began pushing against his chest to prise yourself off him. You saw the slight look of fear on his face as he wrapped his arms around you in what was essentially a bear hug – keeping himself inside of you.
“Hey, whoa! It was a joke. I’m sorry…I guess that was all kinda intense and I didn’t really know what to say,” he admitted, looking a little sheepish. “I meant to lighten the mood, not piss you off, believe it or not. That’s the last thing I want, okay?”
You softened a little as he kissed you again. It was true, despite his charm he was often clumsy with his words and misread the room. He didn’t seem to do it on purpose…so you let it go. This time, anyway.
“Alright…fine,” you relented as your muscles relaxed again. “But you don’t always have to…fill the silence, y’know? Sometimes…you can just be”.
He nodded. “I know, I’m trying,” he said gently as he moved a strand of hair from your face. “But look…that was…amazing. Just…wow”.
He laughed and you laughed too. “Wow is much better,” you giggled. “I can work with wow…”
*
The two of you continued to ‘wow’ one another over the upcoming weeks. Your place. His place. Once or twice in the back office at the bar (dangerously close to being caught when Peter knocked that second time…and Bucky angrily told him he was too busy doing the books when actually you were on your knees in front of him…)
His touch was addictive. You didn’t think you’d ever get enough. Even little things like him subtly brushing a finger over your lower back as he passed, or leaning over and pressing himself into you as he went to grab a drink from the bar, seemed to get you going. He knew exactly what he was doing too, shooting you a little wink or smirk each time. He liked to keep you on edge.
Neither of you had raised if you were going to go ‘public’ with your little arrangement. You didn’t want to bring it up, not wanting to appear needy or to want a ‘what are we?’ type conversation. You did tell Wanda and Vis, there were your only real friends here outside of the MC and you didn’t like the idea of lying to them about how you were spending your evenings. They had been surprised, and Wanda had warned you to be careful – she told you Bucky’s reputation was based on two things – whatever sketchy shit he had going on behind the front of his businesses, and the copious amounts of women he landed. Neither of which was a shock to you, but you were grateful for her cautioning.
If you were honest, the secret nature of your relationship with Bucky was welcomed by you. Part of you felt a little self-conscious – like the MC would all think ‘oh, there goes another one…’ or view you differently because of it. Another silly girl getting entangled with Bucky…What else is new? Keeping things quiet meant you wouldn’t embarrass yourself when it unavoidably started to go wrong…
Plus, you didn’t really want to have to deal with any other women who had him on their radar, particularly Amber…
…Who wasn’t really around as much. Her friends still came by the bar, and she did too sometimes. But less and less so. Bucky hadn’t mentioned her, you weren’t sure if he had spoken to her or if she’d just moved on elsewhere. You didn’t think he would’ve brought you up with her, but maybe she sensed he was either pulling away or spending time with another girl.
You’d hoped she had just met a nice guy and had moved on from the MC…but there was a moment one evening where you were pouring a beer at the bar and Bucky had leaned over under the guise of picking up a box at your feet, only to whisper something salacious in your ear as he passed. You’d giggled and grinned, elbowing him away playfully, and as you looked back up you had locked eyes with Amber from across the room. You’d given her a small smile, but she just stared right back. You felt oddly under fire, as if caught out, despite the fact anyone watching the same interaction most likely wouldn’t have batted an eyelid. It was as if Amber was in tune with Bucky in a way the others weren’t, especially when a rival was concerned, and she saw through your bullshit immediately.
You’d barely seen her since that night, but maybe that was for the best. You weren’t interested in beefing with another woman over a man, especially not that woman. And that man…
Aside from Amber, the only other person you wondered who might not be fooled was Steve. He and Bucky were best friends, after all. More like brothers, as Bucky had explained to you. They had grown up together. Steve had been with Bucky through it all, been dutifully by his side when he recovered from losing his arm, ran the MC with him and stuck with him no matter what.
Even if Bucky hadn’t told Steve about you, he seemed to be more aware than some of the others. His stoic silence often was down to him surveying the scene, taking everything in. A mouse couldn’t fart in the bar without Steve knowing about it. He was the eyes and ears of the MC. He had never said anything directly to you, but there had been a few looks he gave you and Bucky that seemed pointed. His sky blue eyes said much more than he did. But maybe you were just projecting…
Thankfully, everyone else was as oblivious as you needed them to be.
Once, as you sat with a few club members to wind down after closing, Bucky had brazenly dragged his hand over your bare thigh under the table. It had been a warm and stuffy night, so you’d done your shift in a pair of denim shorts and a t-shirt. You’d discreetly raised an eyebrow at him, which quickly evolved into an expression of controlled panic as he trailed his finger across your skin before casually unzipping your fly and making his way in, moving past your underwear. You’d bitten your lip to stay quiet as he found your clit and began working you over, all the while chatting away to Bruce like nothing was happening. You tried to bat him away, but he kept coming back, and you soon caught on that people would notice if you tried any harder and made a scene as a result. You quickly understood he was counting on using your embarrassment to silence you.
And, well, damn him - it did feel good…
He didn’t look over at you once as he continued, but his fingers didn’t let up as you began to feel the familiar heat build within. You hated to admit to yourself how much it excited you. You knew how wet you were, how close you were. He knew it too, based on how he began to adjust his pace and pressure. Your entire body tensed as you realised to your horror, that in spite your discomfort, your body was about to betray you and give you a very public orgasm. As the feeling bloomed and the heat swelled, you took a large sip of your water and glanced downwards in an attempt to cover up any potential facial expressions that might give you away. You choked on the mouthful, spitting a little out down your chin as your climax hit, your shoulders shuddering.
“You okay?” Sam asked from across the table as he looked at you with concern.
You nodded bashfully, “Uh, yeah, sorry,” you croaked – still dazed and a little out of it, “Choked on my water”.
“You gotta go easy, doll,” Bucky chimed in smugly as he withdrew his hand and subtly zipped up your shorts.
You glared at him with an expressionless face, but your eyes told him all he needed to know as he defiantly smirked back at you. He then retained eye contact as he appeared to ‘absent-mindedly’ suck on the tip of his finger and pretended to listen to Nat’s conversation with Sam. You managed to suppress a squeak as you felt the warmth rush to your cheeks.
Later, to pay him back for his little stunt, you angrily rode him back at his place and edged him until he was a whiny mess begging for release. Which you gladly gave him (eventually). Then you were even. It wasn’t often you took charge with him, but you knew he enjoyed it when you did. Just as much as he enjoyed when you were the babbling wreck.
That seemed to be a large part of your dynamic, always trying to one-up each other and ‘win’. It was thrilling, exciting. It probably wasn’t healthy…but you didn’t care. This wasn’t serious anyway. It was just fun. Someone to spend the time with in-between sorting through Granny’s boxes and painting her walls. Someone to make you laugh and give you orgasms and kill time with at your bar job. Someone whose initial rule that you didn’t sleepover had lapsed when you both passed out after a particularly vigorous session. Someone whose arms you awoke in the following morning, who didn’t rag on you for sleeping over but instead kissed your crown and didn’t speak. Someone who laid with you and held you so tenderly that it silenced you, famously a smart mouth, you, too. Someone who you began to sleep with most nights, even when you weren’t working. Whose absence you felt when he wasn’t there, someone who you realised you slept better with alongside. Dreamless, deep sleep that actually felt restorative and restful and allowed you to wake feeling refreshed and ready for the day. Someone who in the early light of day would smile sleepily at you and kiss you, morning breath be damned, and pull you into him like you hadn’t just been sleeping in his arms for all those hours before.
Someone not serious.
Another time, late one night, he took you out on his bike. The feeling of the wind in your hair, the exhilaration of the speed, the warmth of his leather as you wrapped your arms around his waist…it helped you to understand why Bucky loved all of this so much. There was something very freeing about rocketing down the roads at top speeds, not shrouded in a box as you were in a car, just out in the air – free and uninhibited.
He drove you both to a hillside on the edge of town where you could see everything below. You’d sat on the grassy verge together and silently watched the lights of the buildings beneath you, thinking about all those people in their homes…going about their lives. Were they happy? Is this what they imagined their life would be?
Is this how you’d imagined yours?
Maybe.
He moved his hand over your own and kept it there, not speaking. You didn’t really need to speak when it came to Bucky. You did talk, sometimes late into the night – about your past, your passions, your disappointments and fears. He was easy to talk to, he didn’t always say the right thing but he listened intently. He remembered details and brought them up later. Being with him was just…easy. In silence or in noise.
You both sat there, hand in hand, time lost as you watched the lights below and the stars above. One by one the houses would go dark, the residents retiring to their beds as their home slept along with them. Unknowingly watched over by the two of you as you continued your silent observation. You could see Granny’s home in the distance, the porch lights on for your ease when you got home later. You wondered if Granny had ever been up here, if she’d seen her home the way you saw it now.
Bucky turned to you and smiled, leaning in and kissing you softly. Taking his time as his nose brushed against yours and the strands of his hair slipped out from behind his ears. If you’d dropped dead at that second, you knew you would be at peace.
Your stomach curled as you realised what this all meant. The inevitable fact you’d been hiding from yourself for some time.
You were in love with Bucky Barnes.
