hi!! It’s been sad seeing u have to deal with so much recently :(( both irl and anons being assholes on here so here are some musings that will hopefully cheer u up!!!
I know u said no pregnancy was gonna happen in the doc BUT when I first got into this doc (binged it in like 1 day btw) I also went thru and looked at almost ALLLL of your extra posts, lore, FQA, etc. And one that stuck with me a lot was explaining what would happen if reader was to accidentally get pregnant and who would retire and I. I have not been able to forget this fic is literally my Roman Empire on my mind literally 24/7 let me tell u
I just feel like there are so many good opportunities for it to be sweet but also angsty as hell. I imagine after some time Price actually becomes rather suited to being a father. He never really thought he had much going for him besides the military but now he has this little bundle who looks up to him for everything and it all just sort of clicked for him. I imagine after some time too, Gaz wants a little one of his own……one from the alpha and one from the beta y’know……now u just have another little carbon copy of Gaz running around
also ofc Simon and Johnny are there to visit at any and all times they can. Holidays, week-long breaks between deployment, etc. the pups love them so much and all their attention is stolen by their two uncles where they’re here. I feel like when they come to visit the pack might sort of be how it used to? They’re definitely still very affectionate like they were in the old days and it’s just easy for everyone to slip into the habit of kissing each other or scenting.
But I feel like after some time, Johnny would definitely yearn to have a similar lifestyle to what price and gaz retired to. He sees you as a family so happy (they get PLENTY of pics and videos too ofc) and he kind of wishes he’d retired and got you to have another little MacTavish himself. He doesn’t regret staying with Simon by any means, but he misses his pack the way it used to be, and he’s getting older, after all. It’s only natural.
AAA I DIDNF MEAN FOR JT TO BE THIS LONG KM SK SORRY BUT I HAD TO FET THIS OUT LFMSOO hope ur feeling better soon!!! Don’t listen to stupid anons >:00 drink water eat food and sleep we love u!!!!! 🫶🫶
— 🌘 !
Aww it's okay anon!!! I love seeing people's thoughts and ideas about my fic!! One of my favorite things, actually. So share away!! I don't mind 💚 I am feeling a bit better. Taking it easy and taking care of myself too. Don't forget to take care of yourself too!!
Price definitely has the most potential for picking up fatherhood easily. He might be the most nervous at first, but he said in the fic he had considered settling down with an omega at one point, so his sudden fatherhood wouldn't be that big of a shock for him. He's definitely the most experienced, perhaps not with actual children, but he can lead a squad of soldiers through what are essentially suicide missions. He can handle a baby.
Gaz definitely is the most excited out of everyone for the baby. Reader definitely has to give him looks sometimes because he's reading the parenting books and looking up which furniture is the best and researching milestones. He's the most prepared out of all of them, or at least as prepared as one can be for a baby. And of course as soon as he sees the baby he's going to want one of his own. That's a given lol.
Johnny is definitely the fun uncle. The pups all love when he comes to visit. Gets them riled up and wears them out so they finally sleep 😂 That's definitely the only reason they don't complain about him getting them too excited. He'd definitely yearn for the quiet life after a while. He'd want to be there and be with his pack. He loves Simon, but he'd get tired after a while. He'd be welcomed back with open arms, just as Simon will when he eventually retires too.

If requests are still open, can I see some headcanons of Pierro, Capitano, Dottore, and Pantalone taking care of a sick s/o? As in, the s/o has a bad cold since they’re not used to the cold weather in Snezhnaya.
♡ 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 ♡
Tumblr media
synopsis: The icy winds and brutal snow of Snezhnaya is a stark contrast to the other nations, which causes you to come down with a nasty cold. But it's not so bad when you have your lovely Harbinger partner to take care of you!
includes: pierro, capitano, dottore, pantalone w/ gn! reader
notes: These kind of requests make my heart go <333. I hate being sick but to be pampered by them... I hope you like these!
Tumblr media
Pierro:
Pierro is the calm, patient, and understanding one. He knows that the icy weather of Snezhnaya takes time to get used to, and will make sure you have as much time as it takes to have a complete recovery. He has lived for a long time and has seen many bouts of illnesses, people who survived and succumbed. But he knows that you’re strong enough to survive and a cold won’t take you out. Out of all the Harbingers, I think he is the busiest, but he would sincerely do his best to make time for you while you’re stricken by this cold. Even though he’s always tired, I believe he’s a gentleman. The kind of man who keeps replacing the wet cloth on your forehead, makes you a delicious hot cup of tea, cooks you nutritious food, and uses ancient remedies long forgotten from Khaenri’ah.
He understands that laying in bed all day is “no fun” (quoted by you) so during times when the cold isn’t so bad, he’d play board games with you. (He likes chess, so I can see him liking other board games too. You introduce him to the more modern ones.) Pierro goes easy on you but it’s still hard to play when your head is a foggy mess. He secretly thinks your thinking face is cute.
You are treated with the utmost respect when he’s not around. Only the best of the best servants serve the First Harbinger, so you are in good hands. If the opposite happens… well, they’re no longer here. Pierro is highly loyal to the Tsaritsa so he hopes you grow to withstand and like the weather.
Capitano:
The one who is trying his best. I don’t know if he’s a human or not, but if he’s some kind of otherworldly monster, he probably hasn’t gotten sick before. (Even if he’s human, I feel like he just doesn’t get sick.) So he is trying his best with your fragile human body which somehow got sick from a little cold. (You have to explain to him that it’s literally sometimes negative degrees in Snezhnaya and normal people can’t take that. Plus your body structure is nowhere like his…) Capitano would force you to stay in bed because logically you need rest. I can see Childe giving him some tips and being thrilled that Capitano is talking to him, even if it’s just for basic advice. (The other soldiers don’t show it but it’s funny to them how the mighty Capitano is so disoriented over his sick lover.)
When the doctor comes in to diagnose and attend to you, they’re kind of scared because Capitano is lurking over the both of you, needing to know if you’re okay. Capitano tries to feed you but the spoon is so tiny he keeps dropping it with his huge hands. He was meant for battle and fighting after all. Awkwardly apologizes for his lack of hospitality. He kind of just sits by your bed, brooding silently for much of the time despite your reassurance that it’s ok. If there’s one thing he’s good at though, it’s keeping you all bundled up and warm on his chest. Who knows how tall this man is so your whole body might even fit on top of him <3. You won’t even need a blanket because his coat is big enough for the both of you.
If it makes you happy, he would take off his helmet and read you tales of chivalry. This is kind of a big step for him because I feel as though he’s the kind of partner who doesn’t speak too much and tends to just stare at you, which doesn’t help you since you can’t even read his expression and is only greeted with the black depths of darkness. He’s not good at this domestic stuff, but apparently, he’s doing a good job because you’re laughing despite your sniffling and headache. (I don’t know why, but I feel like cuddling with his helmet would be cute. I know I’m weird.)
Dottore:
You had grown up in the heat of Sumeru all your life and were accustomed to it until you met Dottore at the Akademiya who later whisked you away to Snezhnaya to continue being his assistant. While you were aware of the snowy climate of the frozen nation, you really didn’t expect it to be absolutely freezing. Your lack of previous exposure to the cold caused you to come down with a nasty cold. Dottore has gotten sick before but has mutated his body so much that he rarely catches anything anymore. But he can understand since he went from Fontaine to Sumeru to Snezhnaya and had to adjust to the weather conditions.
Even when Dottore got sick he just powered through it and stayed awake by downing some pills. Expects you to have the same kind of resilience and continue to assist him with his experiments but quickly realizes that’s not going to happen. He’s never taken care of another person and is half surprised at himself that he’s going to help you but chalks it up to the fact that he needs a reliable person to help him. Honestly, even when you’re sick, Dottore still wants you around him so he probably gets you a pillow or two and a blanket and makes you lay on one of those operating tables. Usually, these tables are used for much more heinous activities but he takes your temperature, pressure, uses a thermometer, etc. (He’s still a doctor after all.)
Dottore is a genius scientist so you’ll stay sick for the shortest amount of time with him as your lover. Will create some concoction of medicine that will have you feeling a lot better in no time. Jokes that he likes you better this way when you’re not talking (he’s lying.) Dottore tends to bark at the other Fatui helpers less when you’re trying to rest. They are grateful but it’s an ominous feeling for Dottore’s lab to be this quiet.
To ensure you don’t pull any stunts like this again Dottore will take precautions about your exposure to Snezhnayan weather. At first, he makes you sit by an open window for a bit and then slowly lets you go outside. He’s happy you’re back but has to admit seeing you so vulnerable is amusing to him.
Pantalone:
He understands the most due to his childhood growing up in poverty. Pantalone probably got sick many times since he didn’t have sufficient clothing or shelter to warm him. He might have seen other orphans die to this as well so he takes your cold very seriously. Of course, the best maids, caretakers, and doctors will be at your beck and call because Pantalone will spare no expense in order to make sure you receive the best and most effective treatment. Someone will always be with you in case your condition takes a turn for the worst. (This is just for a bad cold too. Imagine if it was more extreme.)
Pantalone doesn’t want to get sick himself because he has to attend to his Fatui duties but I think he may have built up some immunity to colds since he got them frequently as a kid. And he would genuinely want to stay with you and care for you since that’s what he would have wanted many years ago. He would temporarily move his desk and paperwork into your shared room to keep watch over you while you slept. When you wake up, he’ll be by your side, ready to feed you some hearty soup, with the maids’ shocked that their lord is taking on the duty himself. Would take care of your hair especially since you’re too tired to do that. He spoils you even more than usual when you’re sick too. Will give you his signature fluffy coat that’s larger than your whole body to cuddle with (he has a dozen more anyway.) If you like stuffed toys, they’ll be stacked up on the gigantic bed for you.
Can’t fall asleep? He’ll indulge you by reading your favorite story, or simply stroking your hair and humming something quietly. (I think he can hum pretty well, that velvety voice can do anything.) Don’t want to take your yucky medicine? Will find some way to break it up into your food or mix it into a drink for your sake. Why do I see him being the kind to tease you by doing helicopter movements with your food?

Transcript:
SYLVIA (as Millie): Okay!  So!  I was wrong and I admit that.  It’s like, cool, we’ve all made mistakes.  I just think now it’s a little easier because we’re not in the middle of the city that her family owns?  And like, I have like access to- You know, a lot of the soldiers here really like me.
KEITH (as Leap): Yeah, and no one really likes Clem.
SYLVIA (as Millie): No one really likes her!  Have you like- we should-
ART (as A.O. Rooke): No one likes her.
KEITH (as Leap): No one likes her.
SYLVIA (as Millie): I was gonna say “have you thought about that,” but Leap, you have thought about that the most.
KEITH (as Leap): Yeah!
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Seven people do like Clementine Kesh.
SYLVIA (as Millie): Can you give me the full list?
KEITH (as Leap): Yeah, can we hear that?
ART (as A.O. Rooke) Seven?
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Seven.
SYLVIA (as Millie): I don’t believe you.
KEITH (as Leap): I- ugh, yeah, sure, what are the seven?
SYLVIA (as Millie): That’s like, three too many.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Sovereign Immunity.
SYLVIA (as Millie): Okay.
ART: Don’t know about that!
AUSTIN (as Figure A): (crosstalk) Gucci Garantine, sort of.
ART (as A.O. Rooke): These both- These are tenuous so far.
KEITH (as Leap): These better be in ascending order.
ART (as A.O. Rooke): Yeah, this better get to more liking.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Thetonious.  Gucci’s bodyguard.
KEITH (as Leap): Okay.
SYLVIA (as Millie): Okay!  Sure!
AUSTIN (as Figure A): They think that Clementine is kind of funny sometimes.
KEITH (as Leap): Okay.
ART (as A.O. Rooke): Kind of funny sometimes is the standard here?
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Comparatively to the people in this room, yes.
ART (as A.O. Rooke): Okaay.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Zo’la, who likes the powerful, innately.
SYLVIA (as Millie): So far- Yeah, and is also being paid by Clem.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): (crosstalk) Alise-
SYLVIA: Oh no, wait, paid by Gucci, my bad.
AUSTIN: Paid by Gucci, yes.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): Alise Breka, who understands that Clementine Kesh has a unique position and perspective on events, and who was, of course, schooled in Kesh matters, in Kesh schools.
KEITH (as Leap): That one’s disappointing.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): The Blossom, who thinks of Clementine Kesh as a protégé.
KEITH (as Leap): What?  Some of these are without- These last two are legitimately surprising!  Okay, keep going.
(SYLVIA laughs)
AUSTIN: This is according to a whole situation that Jack set up months ago and I have to be honest with it.
ART: Isn’t this like- So it’s only one more, right?  Or was that it?  Was that seven?
AUSTIN: I think there may be one more.  Um.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): I do.
(KEITH, SYLVIA, and ART “aww”)
ART (as A.O. Rooke): Why?
SYLVIA (as Millie): Now, notice how her mom wasn’t there.  That’s pretty funny!
KEITH (as Leap): Yeah.
AUSTIN (as Figure A): (crosstalk) Her mother does not like her very much.
ART (as A.O. Rooke): Yeah, that’s fucked.
SYLVIA: (crosstalk) And then they all laugh!
AUSTIN (as Figure A): I will say that I have browsed the annals of history.  I have seen the depths of what humanity can do. Clementine Kesh is a footnote, at best.
KEITH (as Leap): Sick.  Um.  We can take the shoe off that foot, like this week, I bet.
(AUSTIN laughs)
ART (as A.O. Rooke): I don’t think that that’s the… That that’s what that means.
AUSTIN: (crosstalk) Is that what footnote means?
KEITH (as Leap): I think- Well, I think a foot is more powerful with a shoe on.  So you take the shoe off, and then they’re a footnote.
SYLVIA (as Millie): (crosstalk) That is- I- I mean I guess it probably depends on the note, but I don’t know if you wanna-
ART (as A.O. Rooke): (crosstalk) Like a sock-note.
KEITH (as Leap): It really depends on what?
SYLVIA (as Millie): Oh, I was just gonna say, I think it depends on the foot, but we don’t need to get into that while we’re eating lunch.
AUSTIN: I think that is scene.
SYLVIA: Yeah.

Okay- Salem throwing in during the Great War especially with Grimm would belatedly justify that card game from Volume 2 because of how it was over control of Remnant besides as an in show ad. Especially with the whole bit of the Nevermore card.
Salem as supporter of revolutionaries fighting for their freedom... One that fits extremely well. Two it puts additional layers to Cinder approaching the White Fang and also just ... Cinder being taken in.
I also would find such a reveal in show to likely be extremely hilarious as the implications hit the audience and cast.
my god i wrote that entire fucking post without remembering the great war Board Game existed
you’re right though, it would be a sly piece of foreshadowing if that’s the intention, esp bc the nevermore bit is between ruby (playing atlas) and yang (playing mistral) and a dice roll which of their forces it attacks.
in terms of the worldbuilding that game has always kind of interested me for what it says about how grimm are viewed in military contexts by the general public; qrow in WOR suggests that grimm on the battlefield was an automatic ceasefire until they were driven off again, but also that “grimm came in droves” while ozma laid waste to his enemies with the sword. and then there’s this grimm card in a war game where the mechanic is “flip a coin to see whose soldiers get mauled”—implying that opportunistic “let the grimm attack your enemies” tactics are not unheard of.
and… then. there’s arrowfell. the grimm lures the antagonists use were developed by the atlesian military, and… the only practical use case for a device that summons swarms of grimm is to weaponize grimm against human targets, ideally a safe distance away from your own forces. like, they’re grimm bombs. and these were developed post-war! in a time of peace! the great powers during the tense period before the great war must have been thinking about how to point the grimm at their enemies, too.
but unless you’re salem, or have salem on your side, weaponizing the grimm will always be a double-edged sword—as yang says, that’s just a risk you have to be willing to take.
anyway yeah if i’m right, the reveal would be so punchy. and i do for sure think were due for some sort of revelation about the great war—it’s been set up and referenced over and over, and they made a deliberate choice to convey this information through a heavily biased perspective, and the great war ended in vacuo, and everything the narrative is building up to the last stand in vacuo. something about history coming due, and the truth coming out.
it’s also be a neat counterpoint to the Team Oz narrative, which is very black-and-white (mantle and mistral were the bad guys, vale and vacuo were the good guys, don’t ask too many questions about valean expansion into the likeliest origin point for those desperate crazy founders of mantle or vale’s involvement in the complete destruction of its next-door neighbor centuries ago or the part where ozma magic nuked everyone so hard that allies and enemies alike bent the knee.) whereas the truth seems to be more complicated with vale also having imperial ambitions prior to ozma assuming the throne, and then at best prioritizing the status quo.
an interesting possibility that i think about sometimes is that ozma may have been the one to withdraw vale from vacuo; less out of anti-imperialist principle than because the vacuan people were increasingly unhappy with valean rule and he recognized that the only way to avoid a war for independence in the long term would be to give vacuo independence first. and then mistral swooped in like a vulture because ozma neglected to do anything but formally recognize vacuan sovereignty, rather than make reparations and provide support needed to allow vacuo to emerge from centuries of valean occupation as a functional country—the same conflict-avoidant, shortsighted approach on display in his choice to “share the land” with mistrali colonists in eastern vale.

S2 Episode 9 (Metamorphosis) Wait wait wait. I'm watching this episode on April 5th, this is so special (I know this won't be posted till days later but holy crap):
- I like hows there's just a mission that somehow requires the captain, first officer, and head medical officer to be on the same shuttle escorting one person
- I will not blame McCoy for anything (sorry. not sorry actually)
- They always take the Galileo
- Oooh pretty lighting
Tumblr media
- "I'm not imagining you am I?" "We're real enough." Kirk what kind of fucking answer is that?
- "Food to a starving man. All of you." Saying this after he just shook Spock's hand is crazy…
- They’re conferring
youtube
- So the companion wants.. companions?
- SPOCK ITS BEHIND YOU
Tumblr media
- The companion snap crackle popped the shuttle and Spock
- “It attacked you?!” Bones is shocked. “I’m not a scientist or a physicist, Mr Spock.” He says this with a smile and it’s such a moment between them
- This episode is like “if you love me let me go” and it’s such a deep love between them and holy shit
- hey siri what’s a “Judas Goat”?
- THEY FUCKING SHOT HIM
- McCoy watching his boyfriends die and begging the companion to stop
- “It isn’t your fault.” “I’m in command, Bones. It makes it my fault.” “How do you fight a thing like that?” “Maybe you’re a soldier so often that you forget you were also trained to be a diplomat.” Bones advice!
- Okay it just violently goes back to Scotty’s log. YESS UHURA AND SULU CONTENT!
- “It’s a big galaxy, Mr. Scott.” “Aye…”
- McCoy’s just standing there looking pretty next to Spock and Kirk in this episode, isn’t he?
- “The idea of male and female are universal constants, Cochrane.” Bull fucking shit, mate
- “You’re not a pet. You’re not a specimen kept in a cage. You’re a lover.” “I’m a whut!?”
“For all these years, I’ve let something as alien as that crawl around inside me, into my mind, my feelings…” So he wasn’t upset when he thought he was being treated as a caged animal/pet by a male or non gendered entity, but as soon as it’s a woman who’s in love with him... (its fair that he’s freaking out but like…what?)
- The boyfriend’s explaining why this guy should continue to date the cloud of sparkles. McCoy and Spock can agree on smt at least
- “No. I- I don’t want to die. I’ve been good at my job. But… I’ve never been in love. Never. What kind of life is that? Not to be loved. Never to have shown love. And he runs away from love.” This is such a heartbreaking and beautiful scene from the Ambassador
- “Companion, do you love the man?” “I do not understand.” “Is he important to you? More important than anything? Is he… as though he were apart of you?” SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP WHAT IS THIS
- “But you can’t really love him. You haven’t the slightest knowledge of love— the total union of two people. You are the companion, he is the man. You are two different things. You can’t join. You can’t love. You may keep him here forever. But you will always be separate. Apart from him.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Jim just poured his fucking heart out and we know it was about them I’m dying and crying about this
- “What did you hope to gain by that, Jim?” “Try to convince her of the hopelessness of it. Love sometimes expresses itself in sacrifice. I thought maybe if she loved him… She’d let him go.” Oh my the parallels of it. This is about Spock and McCoy. He wants to be with them, but he knows he can’t let them go and so he sacrifices himself for them. Leave me alone in this hole of misery and self deceit.
Tumblr media
- Loneliness, oh god the loneliness. Her eyes show so much in this scene
- I love when bones stands there like a NPC or lego character (oh my god I want a Bones Lego figurine)
Tumblr media
- I’m just going to say it. I think this guy is bisexual. And it’s not just because of the colour of the sky.
- “As long as you grow old together.” You know who grows old together…. I’m fucking going I’m going off. Spock, McCoy, and Kirk grow old together (is what I’m getting at)
What.. what happened to me. This episode.. bye…
(Edit: I know canonically they’re not dating but I like to take all the evidence I can to support it. So if some of this stuff is a bit nonsensical… I’m sleep deprived as shit and it’s finals)

Hello! How would the Mercs be with an S/O who has chronic health conditions (totally not because I’m self indulgent with a connective tissue disorder)
💕TF2 Mercs With An S/O With Chronic Health Conditions💕
Includes: all
Note: I referenced arthritis a lot for this and general connective tissue disorders. If anything is wrong, please correct me and I'll correct this!
🛠Engineer- You KNOW this man would be the most understanding. Not that it’s the same, but his hand was amputated, and even though he may have a hand now, he didn’t for a while! So he gets it. He isn’t overbearing, but he is attentive with how you are feeling. He’s willing to help out with anything, and although he knows you can handle yourself, that doesn’t stop him from going to Medic on the days you seem particuarly hurt or fatigued. He does his research and tries to see if any of the tips on there work. Most of them are emotionally based-don’t be overbearing, see what you can do, but he keeps up on the more physical ones too. Which means he likes to go for walks! Being from the country, he used to go on walks all the time. Nowadays he doesn’t have much time, but he tries to be there for you.
🔥Pyro- “Aww he doesn’t get it so you go in the blanket pi-” NO! NO!! Just explain it, man. And if you don’t want to explain it, or if he’s embarrassed to ask, he’ll ask someone else. Pyro will get it, he’s not dull. Of course he doesn’t know most medical terms, he’s been hanging out with the same 8 people for the majority of his life, and the doctor there isn’t even licensed. At first he does think you are dying. But luckily that is cleared up before he sees you again. He can be a little overbearing at times, but he understands when you need your space. He just hates to see you hurt, and being uncared for with his own health problems (burn victim, i headcanon) has left him with the innate desire to make sure you always know your problems matter.
⚾Scout-Scout is a goober and I’m not going to lie to you, he hears “connective tissue disorder” and thinks your bones are going to disconnect. Like, your arms are just going to be socks of butter. Eventually he is corrected, but it never leaves his head. Lucky for you, this boy is incredibly active, so there is never a dull moment. Sometimes he gets a little too caught up and you kinda gotta be like
“Hey remember when I had chronic health conditions”
And he’s like, “yeah :3”
“Well they’re chronic-ing”
He is asking Medic, Engineer, Heavy, EVERYTHING. Anyone he thinks might know a thing or two is being asked questions. You might think you want to be asked, but he has so many. He listens to you the most though, since it is you he’s trying to learn about. Um..he knows what arthritus is! He..has heard of it.
🦅Soldier-Does Soldier know what any of those words mean? Kind of! Disorder? I’m trying to give you deez orders! Har har harharharhar. Anyway. He is perplexed. On one hand, you seem up for training and you do quite well! Sometimes. Sometimes you spend time with Medic, sometimes you watch. Sometimes he wouldn’t notice you’re gone until a little ways in. He is in the ZONE of training. Eventually he’d ask a little something like, “WHY DIDN’T I SEE YOU ON THE FIELD TODAY MAGGOT?”
And you’d say something like, “Just feelin’ a little stiff today,”, “Flarin up today”
So convince him not to crack you over his knee to get you feeling limber.
Eventually he’d understand that you have your off days and leave you be. But as soon as he’s done going bananas, he’s checking on you.
🗡Spy-He’s probably one of the most normal. He knows what’s up, he’s met people and had to act like said people, you know, spy things. He’d check on you to make sure you’re okay, staying active. He’d probably ask a little too much about your well being and to be honest, might keep a little booklet of sorts. Not that it helps a whole lot. In no way are you left out of anything, and he’s making sure of it. If you’re feeling particularly bad, you can hang out in his smoking room and get lung cancer as well. Sometimes he doesn’t smoke. His little treat
💉Medic- He is an unlicensed doctor damn you! He’s all up in those bones. He’d definitely want to take those joints and bones apart like a kid ripping apart a barbie. He loves you! Maybe he’d give you some painkillers or anesthesia. You are experimented and poked at a lot because finally, finally he can feel like a real doctor and deal with medical issues that aren’t bullets and death. He takes care of you when you need it, but it’s hard to tell if it’s because it’s fun to him or because he is genuinely worried. He gives you a lot of credit.
💣Demoman-Alcohol is nature’s painkillers! He would be offering that up to you like no tomorrow, but it is because he cares. On a more sober note, he actually does have relatives with arthritis. I headcanon his mother to have arthritis, if alive. I don’t remember who the dead parent mercs are. So yeah, he gets it. He’s helping you with any chores you said you had to do,  a habit of his regardless of how your tissue connectivity is doing.
🦘Sniper-Sniper is..yeah. Well he has your best interest in mind. Even though he knows what’s up, he’s not sure how to deal with it. He’ll probably have you drink some weird mix of gasoline, peyote, and rain water and tell you “it’ll work ya right up mate”. Don’t drink it. You having aches and pains almost constantly means he’s probably gonna have a shooting buddy. You’re his partner, yall are gonna be around each other anyways. It’s a little hard to get used to the days where you are around. Despite being a skilled sniper, the smallest noise makes him jump. It’s in his blood.
🐻Heavy-The most normal. Health issues? Okay. Want a sandwich or something? His love language is act of service. So if you’re feeling bad, sick, emotionally bad, aches, pains, or otherwise shabby, he’ll give you cut up fruit. Oh yeah. Watch this guy rip an apple in half! He can do more than that, but you know. He’ll ask if you’re okay and make sure you’re not strained, but for the most part everything is normal.

Oh no help i’m thinkin about Bruce’s unique relationship with Dick, and I’m givin myself emotions over it
Like all of Bruce’s kids have unique traumas, right? Cass was raised a child soldier by an uncaring father, Jason was an abandoned street kid in the heart of Gotham, Tim was ignored and neglected even before his parents died.
But Dick had a happy healthy family cut short by unexpected tragedy right in front of him. Exactly like Bruce. That was the whole reason he was the first kid Bruce brought home. Batman had seen kids in bad situations before but Dick was the first kid in an almost identical situation to Bruce himself as a child. He thought “I know firsthand exactly what this kid needs and what he absolutely does not need.” Every other ward Bruce has taken in he’s been equipped for by his past experience with Dick, and by knowledge gained from his work as both Batman and philanthropist Bruce Wayne. But Dick is personal. In some ways Dick being okay is a means for Bruce to be okay.
Hence the reason why Bruce and Dick tend to have the most and worst fights. Like yeah Jason is the family rebel but his bone to pick is more with Batman than Bruce, and boiled down is pretty simple: he died on Batman’s watch and he’s pissed about it. Bruce knows this and honestly agrees hence Red Hood doesn’t get the broken bones and prison treatment.
But Dick? Dick is the one who fights with Bruce and Bruce fights back. Because nothing freaks out a parent more than seeing all the ways their kid is primed to make the same mistakes as them, the things that kid learned because their parent went “well they’re just like me, so I’ll raise them like I was” and realizing the downsides to that until it’s too late. But those kinds of insecurities are often subconscious even in people who aren’t as emotionally stunted about their own traumas as Bruce Wayne so instead it’s like every so often out of nowhere Bruce will pick Dick up and try to huck him as far away as possible and of fucking course that confuses and pisses Dick off. And Dick, who was not raised with Batman hero worship, who knew the man under the cowl before the myth and the legend, who was raised equally by both, and is a goddamned adult man, has absolutely no qualms going “Oh absolutely the FUCK not” and either stomping back to get in his father’s face or stomping off to the west coast, depending.
And with Dick having the same deep fear about Not Turning Out Like Batman as all of the kids, even if Bruce says “I just panic sometimes because you’re so much like me, and I don’t want you to make the same mistakes I did” chances are Dick won’t realize the me his dad is talking about is in fact Bruce Wayne, the always witty and fun social butterfly, with the reputation of being a wild child, who never settles down with any of the million people he flirts with, who buries all his pain behind a much more human mask.
And Bruce has to wonder, how much if it is nature and how much is because one fateful day Batman saw a child and thought “he’s exactly like me?”

RUBS HAND OVER MY FACE i’m going a little. insane. about Strider Rex, honestly. The irony (?) of him looking no more than 30 when he’s 84 or something compared to canon Rex where he looks like he’s 56 when he’s actually 28. I just. MAN.
Okay, but AU of Rex living longer than normal clones, than normal humans, that the only moment he actually looks like an old man is when he’s 160? 180? Very old, kriffing ancient, or so he’s been told by everyone else.
Something, something the Kaminoans fucked up a whole batch of clones that the moment they hit puberty (9-10 years human years, 18-ish in clone years), they stay super young for decades. DECADES. Reverse engineering but make it sloth pace.
Nala Se, the absolute worst living being to exist, tries to terminate them, but then, that would mean wasting a whole batch of clones and making it look suspicious in all ends because even if she did make up excuses and lies (the clones could probably have failing organs, or thinning blood, or anything that would compromise selling their ‘usefulness’) it’ll just make her look bad. Oh, this batch is sullied? You overlooked a mistake when there are fifty clones in a batch? You could’ve just checked one of them properly? You caused Kamino millions of credits? No, no, they will be a reminder of your negligence, Nala Se, and I will see it that their uses are fulfilled like the rest of them.
So she just makes sure these clones are all put through the hell-like training exercises anyone in their short life would go through that the casualty reports are off the fucking roof. Only 30% of that batch survived, and the rest of the clones come up with all kinds of stories about how that’s the batch that’s cursed, see, because for some fuckdamn reason they’re always getting the short end of the stick. Absolutely no leeway for that batch. They’re stiff like boulders if you ever try talking to them. ‘Think they fried their brains every time the Long Necks decided to make them go through the torture machine.
In the end, 10 graduated out of 50, and they become the best fucking soldiers everyone would ask for. They’re all still painfully human, and when Rex hears that Keeli used his life to fight with his Jedi, he has to sit down.
They keep in touch, and sometimes, a brother who isn’t theirs, who’s not from their little group of survivors, would deliver dreadful news. One by one, they’re dwindling down until their stories are almost legends amongst the Shinies, the other batches who are there to see them fall, and it’s years into the war that Rex could count what was left of them on one hand.
Wilco? Gone too soon. Howzer? Rex lost him somewhere in the beginning of the Empire’s reign. There’s no way of knowing whether or not he’s still alive, but seeing that reports say he was MIA, Rex can take it as a good sign. Last he heard, Howzer’s on his way to be executed on Ryloth before he escaped. Rex hopes he’ll get to see him again.
It’s 15 years after the Empire becomes a stick in everyone else’s asses that Rex accepted he’d be one of the Fucking Weird Ones left. While Wolffe and Gregor look well into middle age, Rex looks like he hasn’t aged a year in his life. He looks twenty-two, is actually twenty-eight, but he feels like he’s the one who’s fifty-six.
“Damn,” one of the snack-sized Rebels —a kid, kriff, and the one with colourful Mando armour isn’t any better too— breathes out. The kid’s eyes whipped between Rex and Wolffe, to Gregor, before going back to Rex. “It’s like your their son or something.”
Wolffe and Gregor fucking howls with laughter while Rex chucks a balled up paper at their way. He threatens them with clanker oil in their drinks, before he says to the kid, “I’m older than both of them.”
“Doesn’t look like it,” Sabine drawls, blaster flipping between her fingers and the Jedi, the one who’s staring at Rex as if he sprouted another head, looks away with resentment in the tightness of his jaw. “You look kinda, I dunno, near my age.”
That sets off both Wolffe and Gregor again, holding onto each other as they laugh and chortle and are bent to their knees that Rex really wants to kick their asses.
“You’re—“ Wolffe manages before he clears his throat, ignoring Rex’s glower. “You’re, what, seventeen?”
“Yeah.”
Gregor snorts, chokes, before he’s hiding his face into Wolffe’s shoulder as the other man nods sagely. “Yeah, you’re not far off.”
Rex has done everything he could in making sure this Rebellion stands, going in and out of Seelos every other month or so to trudge through fire blasters, proton torpedoes, Stormtrooper wayward shots, and to brave through dry planets, drenched planets, sweat-sticking humid ones, and this is the thanks he gets. All because he looks a little younger than he should be.
Rex jabs a finger at Wolffe’s way. “Eat shit.”
“Is that the way to talk to your father, Rex?” Gregor tsks, shaking his head. “Shame on you.”
Rex aims the same finger at him, too. “Screw you. In fact, eat shit.”
So, Rex ages slower than them all, and he gets to see them die. It sucks ass, it sucks ass real bad, because he’s losing everyone he knows, everyone he loves, because he has longevity in his fucking genes while his brothers die too fucking fast. Cursed, they’re all so very cursed, and he hates it, he hates it so much.
He’s watching all of them get old, get sick, get buried or cremated. He watches them fade, and even when they’re all rickety in their joints, Rex has only three white hairs in his entire life.
“You’re still very handsome,” Ahsoka hums, patting one veiny hand on his cheek. The wrinkles at the corner of her eyes are too deep, her eyes as wise, wiser even, than the last time he thought he lost her and found her again, but the smile she gives him is just the same as the ones from all those years ago. “And very young. And yet, you decide to sit with this old lady when you could’ve gotten yourself some adventure.”
She’s pushing ninety years old, and she doesn’t really need a cane unless she’s climbing up hills —which she shouldn’t have to, like ‘Soka, please— standing tall in her library, going through old Jedi archives that have been founded again, along with the ones Luke managed to salvage from the fire he created during his midlife crisis.
Rex tries not to think how he’s gone, too, Leia along with him.
“I think I prefer going through dusty books with you than going any more adventures,” he jokes softly, trapping her hand against his chest with his own, and again, he pushes away the thought at how incredibly thin she feels underneath his touch. “I need a break, after going through all of that three times.”
“If that’s what you want,” She gives him another pat on his cheek with her free hand before she walks away from him, already hauling a couple of old looking books with her. “All I’m saying is how this will get boring very fast, you know.”
“I can do boring,” he tells her, following her to the back room, where she’d preserve the old texts into new books by writing them down, doing it the old fashion way, looking at the smudge or burnt off pieces through a microscope. “I need boring, actually. It’d be good for me.”
“I’m sure,” She’s already opening the books, one hand reaching for her writing apparatus, already absorbed into the text. “Think Kix’s gonna come over soon?”
Another brother trapped by time, found in ice and in guilt and in shame. The first time he saw Rex, Kix hadn’t believed him when he said it had been fifty years since the end of the Clone Wars. He was disoriented, freezing, and when Rex explained how much time had passed, recognition kicked in, and Kix remembered Rex’s condition, saw how different his Captain was compared than last time.
Not much, Kix had said, when he calmed down, eyes heavy. But it’s there, in your face.
Now, after two decades have passed since they found him, Kix looks almost as old as Ahsoka is.
And Rex remains excruciatingly ageless.
“He will,” Rex doesn’t want to think of how soon he’s losing his friends, how he’ll lose them too, like he did with the others. He can’t bring himself to go through that now, now when Ahsoka’s here, wanting the best for him, but letting him get what he wants. “He heard about the cake. He can’t resist it to keep away.”
“He does love his fruitcake,” she mutters, distracted, one weathered finger tracing the lines.
Rex is already helping her with the other book, rewriting what he can read, keeping his gnawing emotions in the cages of his chest as he thinks, not for the first, that it’s better if he lives longer than they all did. He gets to be there for them until the end, he’ll be there to see them off, and that gives him some form of ease.
They don’t have to be alone. Rex is there, and he’ll be there until it’s his time to go.

What would be the South Park characters Overwatch main:
Let’s start with team 1 (the main 4 +Butters):
Tank: Cartman obviously.
He’s that annoying RoadHog 1 trick but after Hog got reworked he became an annoying Doomfist 1 trick. Don’t ask him to switch even if he’s being hard countered. He won’t. Constantly complains about heals. If they win he says “gg ez tank diff” even when he’s done the worst in the lobby but if they lose he will say “support diff/no heals”. Every time he falls off the map Kyle types “?” In chat.
DPS 1: Kenny.
Kenny plays JunkRat mainly. He’s the type of JunkRat to go into the whole enemy team alone just to die but still gets like a 2k with his dead body mines. The suicidal JunkRat play. Will go out of his way to find the Mercy with his Tire even if it kills him. Will also circle around a Mei in ice block with his tire to kill her despite him also playing Mei too sometimes. Definitely made at least one of those TikTok’s of JunkRat using his sit down emote in front of the spawn doors on top of one of his traps. Spams the ‘ahhh it’s snowing’ voice line 24/7.
DPS 2: Stan
Stan is that hitscan player you despise. The type you sit there and think, if you didn’t play hitscan you would be terrible, spoiler he wouldn’t be terrible. His most comfortable character though is Soldier 76. Hella basic but he enjoys it. He actually used to be a Genji main though but he got tired of constantly being solo gravd when he was nano blading. Kind of expected Wendy to be his pocket Mercy (she did not). Will 100% flirt with a Mercy to get a pocket in the spawn room and taxi them back from spawn.
Support 1: Butters
Everyone expected him to be a Mercy 1 trick. They were wrong. When he plays Mercy he’s the stereotypical heal bot sugar plum fairy Mercy. Butters is actually a Brigitte main. He can play other supports if needed but he isn’t very good at them. He only wears the Goat Brig skin. Will throw the game just to show everyone the Katt Brig emote. Will also refuse to kill Wrecking Ball players.
Support 2: Kyle
Absolutely feral when playing Ana. The type of Ana that would sleep an invis Sombra because his ‘Sombra senses’ were tingling. If you’re playing tank against his Ana you might as well just leave the game or you’ll be constantly slept or antid. He might have thrown a bit of a fit when Kiriko was introduced. Now he just sleeps any Kiriko’s and nano’s a teammate to solo ult her for him. Will nano a Mercy. He can play any support though and as much as he loves to play Ana his highest win percentage is on Mercy. He’s Stan’s egirl pocket Mercy, he hates it (he’s lying).
Team 2 (Craig’s gang):
Tank: Clyde
D.Va 1 trick (he thinks she’s hot). Will spam ‘is this easy mode~’ after every kill. Gets salty when he gets D.Va diffed or if the enemy D.Va gets play of the Game. Owns every D.Va skin, emote, victory pose and highlight intros.
DPS 1: Craig
Hanzo main but is a menace when playing Torbjörn or Symmetra. Will chase after you with Torbs hammer. Will also put a Sym tp at the edge of the map to make his teammates fall off. His true strength though, Bastion. Yup he’s on of those players. He will kind of just play whatever character people find the most annoying at the time.
DPS 2: Jimmy
Plays only female characters. His personal favourite is Tracer though. He also loves playing Widowmaker but he’s terrible at her. Bro can’t land a single shot. Will definitely play Pharah into double hitscan and wonder why he’s dying so much.
Support 1: Tolkien
Loves playing characters like Baptise and Ana, just supports that can pump out a lot of heals but still defend themselves if needed. Throws the best timed Immortality Fields so much it makes people want to cry. Tolkien is the type of support player that would always make sure his fellow support player is okay. Like jump off the map to help a Mercy get back up type of guy.
Support 2: Tweek
Most people are shocked when Tweek says he’s a support main, they’re even more shocked when he tells them he’s a Zenyatta/Lucio main. Tweek also enjoys playing Mercy every now and then. Battle Mercy is in his blood. Will scream when he gets nanoed no matter who he’s playing. When he’s pissed off at Craig he will play Mercy and t-bag Craig’s dead soul and refuse to Rez him. Tweek is the most petty support main. You spam ‘I need healing’ too much and he will refuse to heal you for the rest of the game, competitive or not.
Let me know if you guys wanna hear who I think everybody would main in other games I play ^^

I've had this sitting in my drafts for a few days and just forgot to post it. Anyway! Thoughts on "Entombed" (sorry, this got long):
1. There's an ancient mechanical creature hidden under a mountain on an uncharted world activated by a mysterious crystal and implied to have razed its entire planet. Why? How does this technology work? Is the mechanical creature alive or sentient in some way? What is it about the crystal that activates the creature? Is this just technology, or is it force weirdness, or both? Why did somebody (potentially the Zeffo) build a planet destroying giraffe of terror? Why was it in the mountain? Did someone hide it there? Did the engineer who designed it base its appearance off of a real animal? Did it hide itself? I have questions.
2. I had to watch this one twice to decide what I thought. I enjoyed it the first time, but I was so thrown by how completely different it was than what I was expecting that I had to give it another shot. Second time around? I loved it. Sometimes Star Wars is profound and serious. Sometimes it's silly Indiana Jones shenanigans in space, and I love it for that.
3. I'll talk about the whole "filler" discussion lower down, but one of the throughlines that's been carried through to this episode from the very beginning of the season is the idea of these characters exploring life outside Kamino, the army, and even the "hunker down and survive" mode they were all in last season, along with the choices they are or could be making as individuals regarding what kind of lives they want to live. Echo, for example, wants to go back to being a soldier, but this time in a fight against the empire; Crosshair is still choosing to be a soldier (for now), and he's miserable about it but having to live with the choice he made to stay; Tech's gotten to explore a bit of what he wants and likes through the riot racing episode but, more than that, he's being presented with the idea that the galaxy is broader and deeper than he considered and that he maybe has more to offer it than just what he was designed to offer; Wrecker...honestly needs an episode where he's in focus because he seems to be the most content of any of them and I'm not sure what Wrecker wants, besides being with the people he loves; and then this week was Omega's (and sort of but not quite) Hunter's turn. I'm an adult, so I tend to focus on the adult characters, but Omega's such a good character and it's great that she's also getting a chance to explore what kind of person she wants to be. This is the second episode we've seen that really focuses on her being a bit of an adrenaline junky with an interest in treasure hunting. And given what Romar said to her about how happiness is worth all the treasure in the galaxy, that's probably going to be a theme for her this season, and I'm curious to see where it goes.
4. Theres. An inexplicable megazord. Just. Out there. On a dead planet.
5.  Hunter's...Hunter's not okay. And not even in just a "tired dad" sense, I mean that Hunter's probably been crying under his helmet since "Aftermath" and that he's getting to the point where he can't hide how bone-tired and sad he actually is. It's almost shocking going back and watching the first half of season one and comparing Hunter there to how he's been in his season so far, because he was so much more open back then. He was exploring options, asking questions, trying to find a new life for all of them, and came across as pretty confident in his decisions, but after the one-two-three punch of encountering Crosshair on Bracca, getting shot by Cad Bane, and losing Omega? The man shuts down. And he only shut down more after what happened with Crosshair on Kamino. I actually suspect that Hunter agrees more with Echo about what they should be doing than he lets on, even taking his opinion that Omega shouldn't be forced into become a soldier the way they were into account. He's not happy about what they're doing, he doesn't like going on dangerous missions for someone else, and he really only got involved with Cid because they were broke and desperate and because she kind of blackmailed them into doing it, but he keeps digging his heels in and refusing to move. It seems like he feels like he's a failure as a leader, a brother, and maybe even as a father, because he hasn't really been proactively leading the group since episode nine of last season. He isn't really making decisions about what they should or shouldn't do--he's mostly letting other people decide on their missions and then letting them guilt, blackmail, or push him into it because he's so scared of making a decision that get's another one of them hurt or results in them losing another person the way they lost Crosshair (or worse) that he's mentally and emotionally paralyzed AND emotionally isolating himself from everyone else. And that paralysis is starting--more than starting--to cause friction on the team, and I'm curious to see how that's going to affect the story moving forward.
6. Seriously, someone get this beautiful bandana man some therapy.
7. Likewise, the vibe between Echo and Hunter this episode was interesting. As much as they're (at least outwardly) disagreeing on what their next steps should be, there doesn't seem to be any animosity between them, at least not yet.  All those silently exchanged glances? They disagree, but they trust each other, and I kind of think they both think that they other one is going to come around to their point of view. Eventually.
8. Omega is me if someone sets me loose on a scavanger hunt.
9. They gave me the space archaeology (kind of) and I am VIBRATING
10. I WISH archaeology was this fun. I spent an entire season walking surveys up in Wyoming, and did I ever come across a map to an ancient mecha-beast? No. No I did not. (I kid, real life archaeology is very fun and I have absolutely cried about lithic debitage and fingerprints on potsherds because someone it means someone lived and breathed and died and that stuff might seem boring but it's evidence of a human life and that's beautiful.)
11. Phee! All hail our pirate queen!
12. Phee is fun and her fashion sense is impeccable. And she has a sword. She's got a vibro-cutlass. Or something like unto a sword. But in space. And regardless of how anyone interprets them, I really liked the scenes with her and Tech at the beginning (characters being a bit snarky towards each other? I'm going to have fun), and Omega imprinting on her like a little baby duck was adorable. It's similar to the vibe Ezra had with Hondo, but where Ezra was a bit of a little shit (and I mean that affectionately) with a tendency to give Hondo chances he knew Hondo didn't deserve because he thought Hondo was a fun dude to have around (and maybe because he saw in Hondo a lot of the kind of person he would have turned into if the ghost crew hadn't picked him up and given him a chance), Omega's just all starry eyes with Phee. Is Phee trustworthy? Probably not. Is she fun for now? Oh yeah.
13. It would be hilarious if Phee turned out to be a former jedi who worked in the archives but left the order well before the war or order 66 because she wanted to go treasure hunting. This is the crackiest of crack theories and I do not expect it to happen. But it would be funny.
14. I loved how into the treasure hunt Tech started to get. Asking questions? About the puzzles? Doing his own investigation on the age of the site? Yes.
15. "I suspect that this is not, in fact, a treasure vault," as the aforementioned inexplicable megazord shambles to life once again proving that Tech, with his deadpan one-liners, is the funniest damn character on this show.
16. Not much Echo this episode, which was a little disappointing, but I liked what little we got. Hopefully there's more in the next one!
17. There's a MAP to an TECHNOLOGICAL MONSTER that PREDATES THE REPUBLIC just OUT in SPACE and I am HERE FOR IT.
18. I didn't think it was possible to make something that vaguely resembles an ankylosaur look scary. I've been corrected. I'm glad Wrecker was able to throw the ankylosaur from hell out the window. (But also I feel a little sorry for it).
19. Mel??? Running from the death ray??? And not making it??? Corbett and Rau I AM IN YOUR WALLS WHAT THE HELL??? But no, actually, that was a pretty good way to up tension without taking out one of the regular characters.
20. So...I'm not saying that spite is low-key a good motivator, but spite might low-key be a good motivator. I'll just leave it at that.
21. No one calls the clone characters by their names. I didn't think this was anything at first, but the more of this season I see, the more I think it definitely is. No one who isn't a clone addresses a clone by their name. And it's not just the villianous or morally ambiguous non-clone characters, no one does it. Not Phee, who has a couple different nicknames for everyone in the batch (including Tech, even though she asked what his name was), not Cid, not Rampart, not even Romar, and Romar was definitely a good guy. The only exception was the announcer and the crowd using Tech's name in "Faster," because that's the name he gave when he signed up (and there's a pretty good chance no one suspected he was a clone) and even then the announcer had to comment on how weird it was and questioned whether or not that was even a name. It's an interesting trend and is probably playing into the idea of how clones were viewed by most of the galaxy during the war--basically as non-people--but I also want to see where it goes before I come down on any hard conclusions. Apart from the overall trend, I do think that every character we're meeting is doing it for a different reason. Rampart pointedly calls clones by their CT numbers as a sign of disrespect. They are not people to him and he doesn't care if they know that. Cid? I think it's so she doesn't get attached. She doesn't want to like them too much. It might be the same for Phee, buuuuuut I'm not sure. And then with Romar...I kind of wonder if he kept calling Tech "Ace" partly because he didn't realize that Tech's name was Tech. Same with the announcer in "Faster" scratching his head over "Tech" being a name. Romar could have thought that "Tech" was a codename or a squad designation, because...I mean...clone names are unusual. Even within the galaxy far far away with the exceedingly silly names, clone names are often etymologically weird. And every person in the batch is named after their job. It'd be like going to the store and finding out that the person loading the shelves is just named "Stocker." And--hey, sad thought about clones--I kind of wonder if most people in the galaxy just assumed that clones didn't have names. After all, they're manufactured people, people who didn't--from what people could tell from the outside--have families. Who would name them? is probably what a lot of people who didn't know the clones would ask. The only people who called the clones by their names were the jedi and other clones; now the jedi are gone and most of the clones aren't in a position to even use their own names right now.
22. I just made myself sad about clones.
23. I LOVED the look of...well, of everything in this episode. It honestly felt like half the purpose of this one was to allow the art and effects teams to flex and flex they did.
24. This whole episode is like if someone decided that Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Castle in the Sky, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Godzilla: King of Monsters were the same movie, and I appreciate that energy.
25. I love that the batch's reaction at the end was basically just, "Well. That just happened." I need Crosshair to come back so they can tell him this story. Them just saying, "While you were off with the Empire we were awakening the ancient horrors," and him jokingly threatening to leave again because there's no way he's believing that this happened.
26. What is the kingdom of Elweys? I need it. I need to know. (For real, though, I'm actually glad that none of the crazy ancient technology stuff in this episode was explained. It gives the GFFA a bit of temporal depth that it doesn't always have and I'm here for it.)
27. Regarding the filler discussion: Not every story has to be serialized. It's okay for some shows to just be a series of putting characters in different combinations and scenarios and seeing what they do. In fact, that used to be the norm. For decades. That was how television worked. It's only in the last decade or so that serialized television has become more of a regular thing.
Furthermore, there's a spectrum of ways to serialize something. On one end of that spectrum you have your eight-hour movies--things like Kenobi and Moon Knight, where pretty much every episode begins where the previous episode ended, and where no episode is complete without the overall structure of the entire show. On the other end of that spectrum you have your tentpole episode shows--think something like the first season of the Ducktales reboot--where you can mostly watch the episodes in any order you want because most of the episodes are the characters getting into various shenanigans while most of the plot is reserved for big event episodes, usually mid-season or season finales. And then elsewhere on that spectrum you'll have shows that are written a little more like a novel. Every single episode or chapter will have its own story, its own miniature inciting incident, rising action, climax, falling action, and its own mix of plot, character development, and worldbuilding (sometimes focusing a little more on one than the others), but the successive episodes or chapters build up to an overarching story and overall structure, and it can be hard to see how or what that overarching story is until you get to the end of the whole story. That's what The Bad Batch is. It's that kind of serialized story.
And--just a last thought--if we're going to say that an episode is filler and doesn't contribute to the plot, we've got to one, consider that maybe story is more than plot, and two, ask ourselves what the "plot" actually is. Anyway, this is just me being a little bit salty, but the unending "filler" discourse whenever The Bad Batch isn't Crosshair's Agony Half-Hour got old last season, and this will probably be the last thing I say about it. (Also, this is just me and my two cents, so take it with a grain of salt).
28. Jumping off of that, this kind of episode does make me suspect that we are getting at least a third season, because it feels like the writers are taking their time taking us we're they're going. I am more than okay with this.
29. DID I MENTION THE INEXPLICABLE MEGAZORD???

Sam and Dean never really had a home. They had places that somewhat felt like home, in their own way (none more so than the impala), but never really a definitive home. Bobby’s house, the Bunker, a few abandoned cabins they got from Bobby and John; all were special but none were completely home.
The Walker Ranch had somehow made its way onto that list of places that were special, despite their rocky start with it. Maybe it was because their family lived there. Either way, whenever they didn’t have a case, Sam and Dean would sometimes find themselves heading to the ranch instead of the bunker. “Just to check in,” Dean would say as he steered them toward Austin. “It’s been a while since we saw everyone,” Sam would agree. Neither of them would admit that it felt more like home than almost anywhere else (never more than the impala).
And neither of them would admit that one of the things that made it feel like home was Abeleine “Call me Abby” Walker.
—---
Sickness was part of living on the road. They didn’t always land in the most hygienic of places and their diet left a lot to be desired, so their immune systems didn’t have the best support. It definitely didn’t help that they regularly went into damp and wooded areas or that they had to deal with random elements of nature like rain and pollen. But they still had work to do, whether they had the sniffles or not, so they just soldiered onward until one of them couldn’t get out of bed. It wasn’t the healthiest way of doing things but that wasn’t exactly high on their priorities list.
Unfortunately, that sometimes led to them being laid up for a couple weeks because they pushed themselves too hard. And living in close quarters meant they both got hit at around the same time. The only thing worse than a sick Winchester was two sick Winchesters.
Which is why, when Sam woke up and felt feverish and Dean was sneezing up a storm, they both started packing up to go to the bunker. They could handle themselves in isolation for a while.
They should’ve known better.
“Sam, are you okay?” Abby asked over breakfast. “You look a little warm….”
Sam smiled and tried to play it off. “Well, it is summer. We’re Kansas boys; not really made for the Texas heat….”
She didn’t look like she believed him but she let it drop. Until Dean started sneezing. “Let me guess, allergies?” she asked, one brow raised.
Dean smiled and shrugged. “You know how it is.”
“Sure.”
“Abby, they’re grown men,” Bonham said as he started clearing away the leftover dishes. “If they say they're fine, I’m sure they are.”
“Says the man who hid his cancer diagnosis behind pain pills for a year,” Abby muttered.
Without warning, she had the back of her hand on Sam’s forehead. “As I thought; you have a fever.” She did the same to Dean before he could react. “You too, but not as high….” She sighed. “Back to bed; both of you.”
“Abby, we were-”
“Just about to go home, I know. But not like that. You’re sick. That means resting, not driving for hours on end and crashing in a motel room that’ll probably make you sicker. Bed. Now.”
“But-”
“Boy, do not argue with me. Bed. Now.”
Sam and Dean looked to Bonham for help, who just shook his head. “You should know better than to argue with her by now.”
Unfortunately, they did. So, under Abby’s watchful eyes, they found themselves back in their room in the bunkhouse.
“What kind of medicine do you usually use for fevers? What about congestion? Any preference for snacks or drinks? I always have something on hand but I want you to be comfortable,” she said while she got them settled in (and boy was it a trip for two grown men to be tucked in).
“Nothin’ fancy for meds,” Dean said. “Just whatever we can get over the counter. And water is fine.”
“Seriously, Abby, you don’t need to do all this,” Sam said, coughing a little. “We can take care of ourselves.”
“I’m sure you can; just not under my roof. Now, I’ll bring some tylenol, water, and crackers to get started. If you can keep that down, we’ll upgrade you to soup, okay?” She left the room before either of them could respond.
“She’s something, isn’t she?” Dean muttered, closing his eyes.
“Sure is,” Sam agreed.
Neither of them said what that “something” was, but they both knew it was true.
—--------
Maybe it was their old age or maybe they were just sicker than they thought, but the Winchester brothers couldn’t help but think that maybe Abby was right in keeping them at the ranch while they were sick. By day 2, Dean could barely get out of bed and Sam had a sick bucket ready to go by his bed. Abby had offered to call a doctor for them but they were still a little too stubborn for that. It would all pass in a week, surely.
In the meantime, Abby mother-henned over them with a seemingly endless supply of water, Gatorade, tissues, and light snacks. She also brought a TV into their room and let Dean have control of the remote.
“You know, you’re supposed to be relaxing,” she commented when she saw he had it on the Horror Movie Network.
Dean groaned. “Come on, it’s an All Saint’s Day marathon! That’s the most relaxing thing in the world.”
“Maybe for you,” Sam muttered, half leaning off the bed and over his sick bucket.
Abby chuckled. “Maybe you can change it over to something soft like Scooby Doo after lunch.” She replenished the tissues next to Dean’s bed and kissed his forehead. “Hmm, still running a fever. I’ll bring you something for that.”
She moved over to Sam’s bed before Dean had a chance to comment on the kiss.
“Do you want something for the nausea, dear?” Abby said, inspecting his sick bucket. “You’ve hardly kept anything down.”
Sam nodded mutely, letting her rearrange him on the bed.
“Alright. I’ll bring it to you with some bread and we’ll see how you keep that down.” She kissed his forehead. “Hmm, fever went down. Maybe all that vomit is getting this out of your system. Just hang tight, dear.” She changed out the bag in his bucket before leaving the room.
When Dean looked over at Sam, his brother had a soft look on his face that Dean couldn’t quite place. He imagined he had the same look on his face.
—---
In the end, it took just under two weeks for whatever this was to pass through the Winchester brothers. Abby tried to convince them to stay longer but they didn’t want to impose any more than they already had. And Sam had already found them a case in Topeka. “Those vamps won’t decapitate themselves.”
“Well, keep me updated,” Abby said. “You know I worry about you two. Oh, and take some leftovers. I know you don’t eat enough.”
They knew better than to argue.

Propaganda for the Batfamily
"Constantly fighting, and trying to kill each other. Also are fighting the mentally I’ll at 2 in the morning while wearing glorified tights and bat ears"
"*gestures vaguely at every batfam story ever* No but like they’ve got so many issues idk where to start. Jason’s death and all the shit he started post resurrection? Damian straight up trying to kill Tim for while back in the day? Bruce’s questionable and inconsistently written parenting skills? Also they’re all vigilantes which in Gotham means they definitely have issues"
"Thomas and Martha Wayne got murdered and it's all been downhill from there"
"Bruce dresses up as a bat to fight crime and Alfred, failing to stop him, adopts a "well if you're going to do it then at least do it where I can see that you'll be safe" attitude and helps from behind the scenes. Bruce in turn adopts a child called Dick. And then a child called Jason. And then a Cass and a Tim and a Duke. It doesn't really work out with a Steph but she's family anyway. Damian doesn't need adopting because he's Bruce's bio kid that he didn't know existed for ten years. And all of the children are SO determined to fight crime that the combined forces of Bruce and Alfred aren't enough to stop them, and one by one they all become vigilantes (Bruce also adopting Alfred's attitude from before). Most of them die at least once. None of them are good at coping OR communicating OR feelings OR being a member of a functioning family but by god if they aren't trying to help. Sometimes the world, sometimes each other. They usually fare better with the former. Bruce and Dick yell at each other about everything under the sun that parents and eldest children yell at each other about. Jason is angry at Bruce because the Joker is still alive after he killed Jason. Bruce is angry at Jason for killing people. Cass is away from home a lot. Tim takes even worse care of himself than the others (on page). Duke is... actually doing pretty okay if not counting the fact that his parents got jokerised and his new family is This. Damian struggles with not killing people and a rampant animal adoption addiction. They all struggle with abandonment issues. The rest of them struggle for screentime. It's like that one vine with the girl who goes "please god, let me have just one good day" and god answers "oh my god you again? give it a rest buddy" where the family (both as a collective and as individuals) is the girl and DC Comics is god."
1 all of them have tried to kill each other at least once
2 bruce wayne is a kind of shitty dad
3 everyone but bruce and alfred were child soldiers (ish)
4 dick grayson has beefed with multiple 12 year olds after he had already grown up and moved out
5 cannot overemphasize the murders and bodily harm
6 one time bruce got lost in the timestream (comics) and everyone but tim thought he was dead and tim was like “hes alive” and everyone kinda bullied the shit out of him for it
7 one time jason got murdered by a guy and then several years later dick put him in prison down the hall from the guy
8 one time bruce beat the everloving shit out of jason for shooting a guy with a blank
9 another time bruce refused to tell jason about who killed his dad despite knowing full well
10 bruce is the main reason jason died at age 15 in the first place
11 the amount of beatings dick grayson took throughout the 50s and 60s is frankly absurd
12 in the injustice universe damian got dick killed and then bruce screamed at damian for “killing his son” despite damian also being his son. then damian joined the league of super fascists against his dad (who beat him up a lot) and then his dad put him in prison
13 bruces uncle isnt in the batfamily but after bruces traumatic orphaning his uncle did more traumatic stuff to him
"Several attempted murders, several arrests of each other, general disdain and massive fights, love that is destructive to all parties, and an inability to communicate"
"they're a family full of extremely traumatized child soldiers whose primary coping mechanism is vigilante justice. many of them have tried to kill each other multiple times. some of them have died & come back wrong. they try their best and they do care about each other but they also get into big blowout fights a lot. they all came from some form of traumatized background before being taken in. the oldest sibling (Dick) had to be a father to the youngest sibling (Damian) for a not insignificant period of time when the dad (Bruce) disappeared; this was immediately after Damian (Bruce's only biological child) had started living with them after being raised in an assassin cult by his mother for the first like decade of his life. Jason died, came back wrong, was groomed by assassins, became a drug lord, & tried to kill multiple members of his family."
"i don't think i can summarise the 80 years of familial dysfunction. my best is just. Batman is the best parental figure some of these kids have ever had. Batman."
"Take your pick of issues. Dead parents, absent parents, abusive parents, addict parents, distant parents, assassin parents. How many people are in the family? Who knows? Everyone deals with personal issues by dressing up and fighting crime in the most depressing city possible. Bruce may or may not have adopted all the kids/plays favorites."
"Bruce is addicted to adopting kids. Bruce. quit putting children into crime fighting. One of them died like how did you not learn. Dick (the first robin) is a huge ass to the next one that comes along (this is the one that died like. Super graphically and horrifically) because Bruce basically fires him as his son and Dick leaves. The one that died rose from the grave, was kidnapped/manipulated for years and has supernatural anger issues (but rightfully should be angry) tries to kill brother Tim who became robin after him for replacing him. He becomes a drug lord and starts cutting off heads. Uses guns for the bit specifically (really funny) (bruce has trauma with guns from dead parents). Bruce mean to Tim when he first comes, then finds out oh shit I have a bio kid raised by assassins that really thinks he’s epic and tries to kill Tim a bunch. It’s practically tradition for his brothers to try and kill him. I love Damian but damn babe. That’s a lot king. He also genetically got the addiction to adopting but for pets. He’s pulling up with cows and shit and keeping them. Cass is perfect and we love her. Duke has a really funny relationship with Jason, and also does some out of pocket shit in the comics (by that i mean like. Dangerous/crazy stuff but in a good way) Alfred is perpetually exhausted with them, mostly bruce. Bruce is emotionally constipated so bad, like crazy bad. This man cannot communicate and is a bad dad a lot bc of it. But he’s really trying and loves them."

Mal for the character ask game perhaps??
Of course!
One aspect I love about them: I love Mal’s loyalty. It’s a little sad but this man has been a servant to others his whole life- to Alina, to the first army, to Ravka. This man made the very blatant choice to sacrifice himself for the world and I do believe he’d make that choice again and again. He thinks through a filter of what he can give others and that makes me just want to hide him from the world.
One aspect I wish more people understood about them: Okay on the flip side of that, this man has his own agency!!! Despite sharing the same upbringing as Alina, and living her to bits, he has his own thoughts and opinions. He is not a saint, not a Grisha, not a king, but he is a soldier. A soldier’s point of view of war I think is both needed and valuable and people need to stop acting like being “normal” makes him irrelevant and in the way.
One headcanon I have about them: My headcanon is that Mal comes up with stupid nicknames for everyone in his life. It starts out insulting, (he never lives down calling an all powerful saint “shadow man”) but eventually turns endearing. He refuses to give Nikolai a nickname just to wind him up, and Nikolai has been going on stealth missions to try and gain a nickname in a totally natural and accidental way ever since. Everyone sometimes forgets that Mal is the best tracker in Ravka and can literally feel you coming you dumbass. (The nickname dumbass sticks from then on.)
One character I love seeing them interact with: Okay unexpected answer even for me, but I really loved getting to see him interact with Baghra. I think unconsciously Mal has been missing some kind of cosmic purpose his entire life. Destiny just kind of follows him around like a shadow, and he doesn’t even understand what it means. Baghra meets him and reads him instantly. Perhaps this is because they’re related, or because of her age, but there’s something so absolutely bone chiling but right and surreal about their conversations.
One character I wish they would interact with more: Okay I don’t know if this even counts but, I sort of wish he and Matthias had gotten to meet and be friends. They both have lived such strict and militaristic upbringings and yet risked it all and threw away everything they knew in order to follow their hearts. I just think they might’ve pulled some interesting insight from each other!
One headcanon I have about them and another character: In my head Mal and Alina and a bunch of their kids spends lots of late nights outside during the heat of the summer. One night everyone bursts into laughter after a bug lands on Mal’s face and strangely starts to glow. The kids run around screaming trying to catch a firefly for themselves. Alina manages to catch one in between two palms, and for a second light bleeds through little gaps in between her fingertips. Mal just kind of sits back and smiles because Alina has always been so blindingly bright, and he’s happy to know there are still moments where she simply glows.

Okay, I originally started making this over 2 weeks ago, but I got sidetracked and never finished it, but I went back yesterday to draw more of it
Basically I just wanted to draw Dark Choco and his past relationships with other characters
First off I drew him with Caramel Arrow Cookie, with him mentoring her in how to use a bow. I’ve kind of already covered how I see their relationship in an older artwork, but basically I see them having a pseudo older brother/younger sister relationship, while Dark Choco also acted as sort of a mentor to her
Next we have Dark Choco and Royal Berry, whom I also see them having a sibling sort of relationship (basically Dark Choco went out and just collected siblings like Pokémon, intentionally or not). While Dark Choco is older, here they’re both at least teenagers, Royal Berry’s just short. Initially they met simply because their parents were friends (I imagine Hollyberry and Dark Cacao probably kept the most in touch out of the Ancients post-Dark Flour War, but that’s just going off what I can gather so far), with Royal Berry befriending the shy Dark Choco Cookie, and later on they remained close friends, despite Royal Berry not being very enthusiastic about fighting or going on dangerous adventures (though that didn’t stop Dark Choco from occasionally roping him into shenanigans). Dark Choco just liked his friend, and he also provided a different perspective, considering everyone he knows in the Dark Cacao Kingdom is a warrior just like him. Dark Choco also acted as a bit of a wingman for Royal Berry when it came to Jungleberry, a young knight in the Hollyberry Kingdom, helping hype Royal Berry up and give him the confidence to ask her out, to which she agreed. Unfortunately Dark Choco just stopped coming over, after an incident in the Dark Cacao Kingdom that Royal Berry never got the details of as his mother never really told him, so he’s not sure what happened to his old friend. As for Dark Choco he wonders how Royal Berry is doing now (he’s unaware that he and Jungleberry got married and they had kids, he was only there for the first and maybe second date)
Then last night I drew Dark Choco and Second Watcher, which I finished earlier today. For the sake of simplicity I’m gonna call Second Watcher here Toffee Cookie, though I’m not sure if that’s my final name for him? (Also side note I just learned today that toffee is essentially caramel (well not really but it’s similar). For some reason I always thought it tasted more like coffee or honey, and thus a flavor I didn’t like. But I do like caramel, so I might actually try it sometime)
So initially I didn’t think much of Second Watcher, other than the fact that I’ve seen his name pop up quite a bit on here, which was a bit odd for a minor NPC. But upon looking again at that loading screen with Dark Cacao Cookie and a freshly baked Dark Choco Cookie, I noticed that the random Cookie holding Dark Choco Cookie was first off a man given the stubble, but also looked uncannily similar to Second Watcher Cookie, to the point where they might be the same person, and the Wiki at least seems to think so too (I’m aware the Wiki isn’t official or anything, but it is an interesting thing to point out). And that intrigued me, because he doesn’t look like a soldier or anything, he looks more like a nursemaid. Now how on earth did he go from a nursemaid to the second in command of the Watchers, the guard of the kingdom? There’s clearly a story there, so I came up with one of my own
So Toffee Cookie here was initially indeed a nursemaid for the prince (which good for him for breaking gender roles), and was basically his primary caretaker in stead of Dark Cacao Cookie (I don’t think Dark Cacao was a neglectful or absent father, it’s just that he’s a king with important duties and he can’t spend all his time looking after his son, and in seeming lack of another parent, he needs someone else to take care of Dark Choco). Dark Choco Cookie saw Toffee Cookie as sort of a secondary parental figure, sort of like Lancer and Rouxls Kaard from Deltarune? Only Toffee sees Dark Choco like a son as well, even if he knows he isn’t
Anyways, so one particular night, when Dark Cacao Cookie was absent from the Citadel as he was dealing with matters in distant reaches of the kingdom, there was an assassination attempt on the prince. They created a ruckus with the Wall, causing the guards to focus their attention on whatever was attacking them outside, diverting and distracting them so that they could get to their target. Toffee Cookie went to Dark Choco’s room to make sure he was unharmed or he wasn’t scared by all this (keep in mind Dark Choco’s not very old here, he’s like 4-5 in Cookie terms), only to find assassins trying to attack him. Thankfully, Toffee had combat training, as is required of any Dark Cacaoian, and on instinct he pulled out a concealed dagger and attacked the assassin closest to Dark Choco, picking him up and fleeing the room. The assassins eventually cornered them and so Toffee stood his ground and fended off their attackers with his dagger until help might arrive. This is how Toffee Cookie lost his eye, as is evident in the picture. Eventually the soldiers realized the deception and after taking care of the threat to their Wall, went on a desperate search to find the prince, hoping they weren’t too late. They eventually found Toffee Cookie, stained with his own jam and the jam of the assassins, surrounded by dead or unconscious assassins, fighting off the ones still remaining. They were able to get rid of the final assassins, and the attack was finally over. They found the prince unscathed, though clearly terrified from everything, and he was clinging on to Toffee Cookie for dear life, refusing to leave his side, even after Toffee Cookie collapsed from exhaustion and his wounds, staying by his side as the healers worked on him and into the next morning. Dark Cacao quickly came back after hearing of the incident and was relieved to find his son unharmed. Toffee Cookie was praised for his tenacity and even offered a spot on the Watchers, but he declined due to his current loyalty being to the safety of the prince, even if he wanted to join them. This made Dark Choco determined to work twice as hard at his training, so that he’d be able to take care of himself and Toffee Cookie would be able to join the Watchers like he wanted, and some years later, when Dark Choco was older, Toffee Cookie joined the Watchers, and eventually became Second Watcher Cookie. Not sure if he was originally First Watcher but stepped down when Caramel Arrow Cookie got promoted or if he only got as far as Second Watcher
Also side note I like the idea of Second Watcher being Caramel Arrow’s father, whether biological or not, so there’s more fuel for Dark Choco and Caramel Arrow being siblings
Originally I was gonna draw the two after the incident, with Dark Choco promising to train even harder so that Toffee can join the Watchers, but that would have required dialogue, and also I wanted to draw this scene more
There were gonna be more, but I either don’t remember who they were gonna be with, or it just didn’t fit with the stuff I was drawing, mainly relationships from post Strawberry Jam Sword
For example, I was gonna draw him meeting Purple Yam Cookie during that tournament, only for me to stumble across my old post talking about Dark Choco’s connection to both Milk Cookie and Purple Yam Cookie, and I realized that based on what Purple Yam Cookie says (the fact that “the Dark Choco Cookie he met didn’t know how to smile”, despite the fact that Young Prince Dark Choco Cookie’s sprites almost all show him smiling, other than anger or defeat/exhaustion sprites, implying that he used to smile a lot, and that he “didn’t wear flimsy clean armor”, despite us knowing Dark Choco wore that armor even during his attack on Dark Cacao Cookie), Purple Yam Cookie must have only met Dark Choco Cookie after the Strawberry Jam Sword.
Edit: So I’ve been told that Purple Yam actually probably met Dark Choco before the Strawberry Jam Sword, for the reasons listed here (I’m trying to link it), so what I say here might be moot. Ah well, I still didn’t draw more than an unfinished sketch
But anyways yeah I ended up cropping the canvas short because I couldn’t think of any more and I just wanted to finish this piece
Writing this I think some other ones I was going to draw were Jungleberry (mutual respect as fighters) and his first encounter with Milk, but oh well
Anyways, hope you enjoy!

J2 Gold Panel Phoenixcon 2022
When they get on stage, Jensen shows the Soldier Boy Starbucks reusable cup that he had been gifted by a fan, which is pretty cool. Jared says that when he woke up it took him a second to remember where he was, and Jensen says the same thing happened to him because his hotel room had blackout curtains but the place he's staying at in Albuquerque doesn't so at like 7am it's sunlight to the face. He comments he doesn't know why he hasn't duck-taped a blanket up then he realizes that's something he actually can do and says he's gonna do that.
Jared apologizes for having missed Vancon, says he was so bumed he couldn't attend due to covid. Jokes he should stop licking parking meters, to which Jensen quips back "or licking people's faces" that that's a new photo op they're gonna offer where Jared licks your face but you might get covid because he's a walking petri dish. In the last month, Jared has gotten strep, covid for the third time, and his kids had the flu last week so he's had all the antibiotics in the last 30 days. Jared, I love you but I would hose you down with Lysol.
Jared makes the comment that Jensen hasn't had this problem because he's been in NM but that it's been like 80 degrees in Austin for the last 6 months which is weird because it has the implication that Jensen hasn't been to Austin in the past 6 months which is not true. We know for a fact that he has been, there are even pictures from an event he attended there recently so maybe he meant that because he's been mostly in NM that he hasn't had to deal with the Texas heat as much.
Anyways moving on to the questions, the first is actually a choice between getting a question or being told a joke. Jared says both.
The question is, on the spn podcast thing, everybody raves about how over 15yrs they never saw the boys use sides. What is their technique for remembering all of their lines, and is it getting harder now that they’re older? Jared says that last one 100%.
Jensen is a little confused because he says they used sides all the time. Not while filming but when they went to block, which is when they show up on set and work out the movement and props and such, they certainly had sides in their hand. When they show back up to film they’re probably sideless because by then they’ve had time to run the scene both in blocking and probably a couple of times in hair and makeup and if it's a wordy scene they’ll go to each other's trailers and run the scene a few times, then they’ll show up on set and be off book by then. I wanna make the note that I am wording their process with each other in the present tense because Jensen says it in the present tense 🥺
Jared says that on Walker, currently, he doesn’t know any of them as well as he's gotten to know Jensen personally and professionally - could have sworn your "wife" was on that show but okay ☕ - so he kinda bobs and weaves to them but the way he learns his dialogue is he reads it over and over again, he reads the script a dozen plus times so he kinda has an idea of what's going on and then going through it in the morning time and time again. You kind of get an idea of the day and the first scene is two pages so you focus on that, and the next is a page and a half so you focus on that, he says that sometimes at the end of the day he'll remember a sentence from what was shot first.
They would run lines a lot but they would also sometimes trade lines, they would read the scene, feel something wasn’t working, and trade lines so Jared would read Dean's lines and Jensen would read Sam's, and if they felt it worked better they would call Bob Singer to approve the change.
Jensen says Jared reads it a lot but he does it differently, he has an association technique he uses where he associates the words or the dialogue with where he is in the scene, the movement, what’s happening so it doesn't ever lock in if he’s asked to recite the words prior to blocking the scene he will go blank but as soon as he can marry it to something within the scene he knows it, and he says he’s been very fortunate to have writers and showrunners that have allowed him to massage the dialogue and put it into his own words. A lot of what we hear is not verbatim on the script, he makes it his own, and he's been given the freedom and the encouragement to do that which he thinks that's been a very nice relationship he's been fortunate enough to have so far in his career. That he's waiting for the time that he's working on a comedy or something and they're like "you said can't and it's can not". Jared says that's what it was like on Gilmore Girls.
Then the fan tells their joke: You know how they call relations with three people a threesome and with two people a twosome? And now you know why everybody calls you a handsome. That's pretty good! 😆 And it also opens the door, and gives Jared the perfect excuse to spend the rest of the panel calling Jensen handsome every chance he gets. x
Case in point, the next fan starts by saying that they're all there melting and fawning over them and Jared goes "he (Jensen) is handsome!" 💕
Who is an artist they've either already met or would like to meet that they would fawn and fanboy over?
Jared says for him more often than not it’s more musicians because he has worked with a lot of actors and actresses that he really admires. Like he met Eddie Vedder and embarrassed himself (to which Jensen nods his head and says 'yes, he did'), says he doesn’t watch tv a lot but he listens to music all the time so the relationship some fans have with them where they put on the show as background noise and re-watch it over and over again so it sort of becomes the soundtrack of your life, he has that with music. So probably musicians, if he met Dave Grohl he'd probably freak out, or Thom Yorke.
Jensen agrees with Jared, he tries to think of who he would go and watch and be in awe of and that makes him think of when he last did that and that was when he saw Robert Plant play. That everybody was jamming out but he was just staring up at him in awe, that he probably saw him and was like "weirdo" to which Jared goes "but handsome!"
Jensen also comments that Jared Leto is grossly pretty in real life, that he's 50 but looks like he's 22. 22? 22???? You need glasses, my boy. Jard mentions Margot Robbie, they met her years ago at the Scream awards before she was super well known and she's flawless. Jensen said he was at an event maybe 5yrs ago and brushed shoulders with Cindy Crawford and internally he was like "stop staring! stop staring! stop staring!" but in reality, he was looking at her wide-eyed. Jared says she was probably like "hey, that's weird. but handsome" In the span of one question Jared has called Jensen handsome 3 times. x
When they're dealing with a lot of emotion in their life, and they know they have to do something creatively, what do they do to decompress afterward? Jared says sometimes it’s more difficult than others. That after their series finale, the scene in the barn, that took a while; he considers himself a workaholic and you detox from them usually there's two weeks at the end of every season where he still doesn't feel like himself. During the pandemic he had a work detox, they got home to Austin and he'd wake up looking for his scripts and then realize he doesn't have any work there so he'd be looking for what to do, it takes time- he doesn't really have an answer to the question he just accepts that it takes time. Same with dealing with mental health, he once again reiterates that he doesn't like using the word struggle when it comes to talking about mental health because if he calls it a struggle then he feels like he's struggling, but he tries to go for a walk or a jog on a regular basis, kinda spend some alone time out on the road or something, or spends time with his dogs. Just accept that it takes time.
Jensen says he doesn’t know if he has a bag of tricks or certain tools that he would offer up, he thinks everything and every situation is different so if you have a certain situation you have to listen to yourself and try to figure out what it’s gonna take. A year and a half ago when he was doing The Boys, he was working a lot, long hours, in quarantine, stuck in an apartment that wasn't his home for weeks and months and he got home late one night and cranked Tool as loud as he could at like 4am and that's how he handled that particular situation he hasn't used that method since but he thinks each situation is different you just have to be aware of yourself and know what's gonna get you through it. Take a look at Jared's expressions as Jensen tells this story because he looks at Jensen with so much emotion and almost like he himself is remembering that night, I have the feeling that blasting loud music isn't the only thing Jensen did that night to cope I think he also made a late-night phone call to his husband. x
Jensen says that the interesting thing about acting is that whenever they yell action everything else in the world goes away. It’s weird, and for that minute to three minutes in which that scene is happening he's not thinking about anything other than what he's doing in that moment and that's a wild thing to have because it can immediately silence everything which is also beautiful.
To lift spirits a little bit the fan asks a second question: what is one of their happiest memories to pull from for a positive scene? Jared says holding his firstborn son, becoming a dad. He also goes back to the previous question real quick to add the advice to remind yourself that no feeling is final wether that's your high highs or your low lows, no feeling is final.
Jensen says he doesn’t know, that he’s a pretty happy guy in general. It’s the more emotional, intense, or somber scenes or situations that take more out of him. Bringing light, and happy, and humor is something that comes easy, he has a pretty optimistic outlook on things. Jared says that's true. And that when Jensen does get down he just sees himself and goes "what can I complain about?" Your husband is hot, we know baby we know. x
The next fan doesn't really have a question she just wanted to know if she could show everyone her tattoo.  x
And the one following doesn't have a question either she just wanted to pass on a message from her friend who could not attend the con to Jared letting him know she loves him and that she sleeps with a moose-stuffed animal every night. To which Jared replies that so does he...and so does Jen. Now y'all can interpret it however you want but to me, this is a clear case of him saying Jen but meaning it with a J, not a G, especially cause he slightly turns his body towards Jensen when he says it, so I'm typing it with a J. But, again, y'all interpret how you want. x
What is the latest happy thing that their family has done for them? Jared says before they got on stage he was face timing G and she was like 'shh' and pulled out her phone to where they have like a nest cam app cause I...guess they have a camera in O's room.....on the one hand, I get it even though they don't like to admit it we know these people have help and hire babysitters all the time so yeah load up on camera's but on the other hand, I don't like camera's in bedrooms they are not a good idea. But I'm getting off track that's neither here nor there, Jared says he guesses O has been on a little bit of a tear lately as a 5yr old who thinks she's 35 (you guess? what do you mean you guess? you don't know?) and when G holds up her phone so he can see O is in her room all grumpy, talking to herself. But she's usually very snuggly and gentle, and she's always going "i love you daddy, you're my favorite daddy". I had to listen to this part like 5 times because I know he means that he's her favorite parent/person but the way he said it makes it sound like he means he's her favorite dad so my brain did a whole record scratch. Anyways, he also mentions playing sports with Tom, and doing Legos with Shep that when they go to the teacher meetings all the teachers talk about how all the kids are individuals and he takes that as a compliment cause when they're home they know they're being supported to be themselves. So his answer is spending time with his kids.
Jensen says Arrow has really taken to a little electric piano they have, and he doesn't play piano but he knows twinkle twinkle little star so he showed her how to play and she learned it in a snap. And on Halloween D send him a video that Arrow wanted him to see, she changed the melody of twinkle twinkle little star to make it haunting. He plays a little bit of it and it's actually pretty good. Jared should teach her some piano and then in the future, if it's something she's interested in, get her a professional piano teacher. x
The last question, is again not really a question, the fan is from Brazil and he asked his friends what they would like to ask the boys and 90% of the questions were: would you marry me? 😂
