So I got a fairly steep ShanGo shipping bill and had no idea which of my outstanding orders it'd contain...and the answer is...most of them. Including one so old I'd forgotten about it. 🤣 I think the only things NOT here are 2ha Vol. 4 and Global Examination Vol. 2.
Includes:
My wife's anniversary present (not pictured, for obvious reasons)
TGCF coaster and Xie Lian (who is enormous??)
Tumblr media
Very very naked Yanshen (I didn't pay for their clothes 🤣). I ordered these well over a year ago, I'd almost forgotten! (Lookit Shen Qiao's beautiful eyes 😭)
Tumblr media
TGCF manhua vol. 3
Tumblr media
Legend of Exorcism manhua vol. 1 (it came with SO MUCH STUFF?!?! man I hope they release Dinghai Fusheng Records in print too...)
Tumblr media
Copper Coins manhua vol. 1, which I haven't read the manhua or the book of yet, but I find manhua much easier to read at my current skill level so I'm gonna give it a go...
Tumblr media
...aaaaand lastly, my thank you gifts for leaving feedback on my previous orders.
Tumblr media
I'm not positive who is on the right (Chu Wanning, Shen Qiao, and Shen Qingqiu seem most likely? I'm inclined toward Shen Qiao) but I love the adorable Yanshen pin, and I'm completely obsessed with the Fei Du and Luo Wenzhou.
Anyway, all in all a really wonderful ShanGo haul, this is WAY more than I was expecting. My wife brought the box in and I was like...oh. it's enormous. 🤣
Thank you @shandian-go !!

Since you didn't pick a fic, I'll just do all my multichapter fics
Penumbra: Happier - Marshmello ft. Bastille
Citrus and Lavender: YORUWA HONOKA (Night is Faint) - English Cover by Aruvn
Bell the Cat: Broken Crown - Mumford and Sons
Kaleidoscope: Everything Goes On - Porter Robinson
9. Do you write every day? If you wrote today, share a sentence of what you’ve written!
Vesperia hummed as she leaned on the table. "If you're looking to recruit someone, I'm sure there's a whole line of people who'd be honored to aid the one and only Ladybug." Ladybug rolled her eyes. "I don't need someone who's just looking for an easy glory mission.  I need someone who knows what Akumas are like." She paused as she focused again on the ugly knot in the wooden table. It's presence remained an ever changing blight on the otherwise surface. "I need someone who isn't afraid." "Well," Vesperia huffed a short laugh, "Chat Blanc definitely isn't afraid. For a man who's facing execution, he doesn't seem to feel much of anything."

New portrait, same old halls - Chapter 2, Cassandra
“Percival - Percy and Vex have extended an invitation,” she said, “to a woman with ties to the Briarwoods. She was made a sacrifice to their cruelty, and your parents intend to honor her as due. There will be a dinner, tomorrow, in her name.”
It took a great breath of air for her to not lose her nerve, to exhale the explanation without snagging on the lump in her throat: “She - the woman is no threat. However, Delilah still might be. It is unlikely, but - not a risk your father will take. None of you - none of the children - are to attend, under any circumstances.”
“Oh.” Vesper understood.
Her armor whined as she asked, “Do you know who it might be?”
“Yes,” said Cass, softly. “We’ve met.”
--
Revisiting her trauma has never been Cass' strong suit either - but she's a bit better at it than her brother. A bit.
Cassandra, as a rule, adored her gaggle of nieces and nephews.

Little Gwendolyn had Whitestone wrapped around her finger, and Cass was no exception. She tried, well and truly, to be firm with the girl when it mattered. When it didn’t, well - Percy could forgive her for a few extra sweets before bed. (She was sure to retrieve any of her brother’s more ornery trinkets Gwennie made off with, though.)

The first time little Vax’ildan had noticed her going without a hairpiece, he made her one himself. Since then, it was always his work adoring her crown. They both knew his Druidcraft flowers were not long for the world - but while they were, Cass wore them chin high. And if they ditched his tutors to marvel at a litter of kittens in the hayloft, Vex did not need to know.

Wolfe was a child after her own heart, if poise came to him more naturally than she. With him, Cass shared the very best courtly insults, the way to wield a rapier in close quarters, the in-between places even monsters could not find. He, in turn, shared his dreams of a massive wolf looming over the Raven Queen’s shrine. They stood guard for him, together, some nights when the boy could not sleep.

The only one of the brood she was not close to was Leona - head in her books or ducked where it should not be, hunting down secrets with a curious eye. Guidance and safety both were treated as yokes keeping her from discovery. The little lioness would enjoy the Cobalt Soul, thought  Cass - once she was of age and temperament for the work, and if it caught her fancy.

It was with Vesper she had the best relationship, without a doubt. As heir to her seat in the Chamber, Vesper studied under Cassandra when not devoting her time to honing her skills as Erathis’ holy paladin. She was a bold young woman: quick-witted, silver-tongued, eager to find common ground. They spared often, debated daily, and Cass was thrilled to find Vesper matching her blows more and more.

Vesper was usually her favorite.

Usually.

scene from "pretenders"
since you insist @courageisneverforgotten ;) (no but honestly i was hoping someone would be curious, so i could share a piece of what i wrote today!)
-----
EXT. OUTSIDE THE BUS/VAN – LATE EVENING
EMBER and CASSIAN are sitting together (or lying on the ground) in silent companionship, both lost in their own thoughts and staring straight forward. CASSIAN stirs, and turns to EMBER with a question.
Cassian: Do you love your dad?
Ember: You want an honest answer?
[Cassian waits in silence, knowing she’ll give an answer. She sighs, conceding.]
Ember: I wish I could say yes. I’d like to say yes, but I don’t. I’ve asked myself this question before, and the only answer I can ever give myself is no.
Cassian: Is it like… there’s something holding you back? From loving him?
Ember: Oh. there’s always something holding me back. All these excuses, or at least they feel like excuses. See – it’s different with him. Like, I know I love my mom. We fight all the time, but we make up, and we forgive, and we hug each other. I wouldn’t put so much effort into resolving our conflicts if I didn’t love her. That’s how I know: we’re willing to deal with the shit as well as the good things. But with my dad… it’s like we’ve been in this one ongoing fight since— I don’t know, since he left us, or maybe this is how it’s been for most of my childhood. But we don’t— I don’t even have the dignity to admit that I’m still fighting. Maybe he doesn’t feel that way. But I do. For me, we’re still in the thick of it. This isn't a resolution, it’s a truce. Or it’s all a lie, another old lie we tell ourselves.
Cassian: So… why do you keep trying, then?
Ember: Because, I want to love him. Sometimes. Or at least because I feel like I should try to. I wish I could. [She throws up her hands in frustration] By all accounts, I should love my father! It’s— I feel guilty if I don’t. I used to love him, anyway. Now it’s all gone to pieces.
Cassian: And you kept seeing him all this time, even though you didn’t want to?
Ember: Well, child support sucks, so I had to for a couple years. But then after I turned eighteen and I didn't have to see him once a week anymore, I realized I didn’t want to stop. I kept hoping that maybe, if instead, I was going to be seeing him because I chose to, things could be different. Better. Real.
Cassian: And were they?
Ember: No. I don’t know. Maybe a little. Anyway, not enough to make any real difference.
[They sit companionably in silence for a moment.]
Ember: I think about this a lot. Like, what if he died?
Cassian: Who, your dad?
Ember: Yeah. Like, what if, just all of a sudden, he was gone. Would I even miss him? How would I even feel about that?
Cassian: And?
Ember: All I know is… I’d feel guilty, and then I’d feel relieved, and then I’d feel guilty about feeling relieved. I’d regret stuff, sure… but it’s not all my fault, is it? If he really wanted to have a good relationship with me, he’d have done more to fix it. Right? So— so maybe, maybe when I feel guilty for not loving him, it is all my fault and I have no excuse, but maybe he doesn't know how to love me. What am I even supposed to do about that? Maybe that’s why it’s so hard to feel anything towards him.

One of the really amusing things about college is that if you pay attention you sometimes can discern some of your professor's favorite pet concepts.
For instance, in my Topology course this semester, the Zariski topology has come up at least once in every single homework set so far, and in multiple lectures.
And okay, that's not that weird. The Zariski topology is a really important object in a LOT of fields, especially algebraic geometry. And discussing it at length is a really pedagogically sound move because the Zariski topology is a good example of a topology with a very well motivated structure (the closed sets are the algebraic sets!) that still very naturally gives rise to a lot of strange features, like the way all open sets in the standard topology are Zariski-dense. It was quite effective at startling me out of the complacency of unconsciously basing my intuition of how topologies behave entirely on the standard topology on the reals. So my professor bringing up Zariski so often doesn't necessarily mean he has any special affection for it.
except...
My professor writes many of the homework problems himself. Not all of them - the less interesting ones he lifts from the textbook- but some. Well, every single Zariski topology question I've encountered so far is an original from this guy. I know because the all the questions he writes personally have paragraphs of commentary contextualizing why he thinks the problem is interesting and where the ideas in the problem are going later in the course. And well- let's just say the asides on the Zariski topology have been copious indeed
AND THEN there's the way he talks about the Zariski topology in class! It's with this blend of enthusiasm and fascination only comparable to the way I've seen tumblrites talk about their blorbos. Like hey! Come behold this sgrungy little guy! Isn't he fucked up? Isn't he marvelous? And I look and I can only conclude YEAH that is indeed a spectacular specimen, he's so strange, I want to put him in a terrarium and study him (and then I get to! In my homeworks!)
Anyways. It makes me really happy picking up on how excited my professor is to share this topology with us. I'm kind of baffled that people assume math is a boring field full of boring people when there exist folks like my professor who get this passionate about a topology!

This is my first time being in a fandom so I don't really know - do you think people writing YR fanfiction will die down quickly after the end of the show? I am already super sad about the show ending but no more new fanfiction about these two might be even worse 🙃
Do you maybe have experience from other fandoms? 🧡
Hey anon! To you, as well, apologies for the late reply, especially since this question is clearly important to you - and no doubt to many others.
Now, should I have attempted to write a heartfelt answer on how the YR fandom will indeed probably slowly fade away but that's okay because the important thing is the joy it gave you while it lasted? Yes, yes I should have.
Did I spend half an hour making a graph in Excel instead? ... also yes.
look I may be a failed scientist but I'm still a scientist and you came to my inbox so...
Behold! My beautiful and not-at-all questionable graph of the number of YR posted per month since the release of S1.
Tumblr media
Now, first the good news: as you can see, the general trend of fic goes UP! ;) I think it's been clear that S2 has drawn in lots of new fans, and that reflects in the number of fics - not only are there more writers, but more readers = more interaction = more motivation for writers.
Now, what does this tell us about fic numbers after S3?
... absolutely nothing. No, seriously, it is impossible to extrapolate any of this into the future :D. I mean, it is likely the peak will be even higher for the S3 release, and it's safe to say that then it will go down. But how fast, or how low, is hard to tell...
Now, I can see how this may make you sad. And I would like to offer two counterpoints.
ONE It's not done yet. This may seem obvious but- the time to be sad is not here yet. Suppose the sun shines today, and the forecast predicts rain for tomorrow. What are you going to do? Go out and enjoy every ray of sun while you can? Or spend the day inside, sad because you won't be able to go out tomorrow? Look - don't get me wrong, I don't wanna dismiss your feelings. It's just- we'll have time to be sad about it later, you know? Right now fandom is active: great fic is being published, thought provoking discussions are being had, ... . Let's enjoy that!
TWO Whether fandom lives or dies after the show, is partly up to you. I mean it! A fandom lives by grace of its active members. So write fic. Prompt other authors if you can't (and even if you can!). Organize events, challenges, polls, ... There are so many things you can do to keep the fandom going, but it's going to require time and effort. And no, success is not guaranteed. But it's worth it.
Lastly though, as you say yourself: this is your first fandom. A first fandom is always a little special, but after a first... comes a second. Always. It may seem hard to believe, and it may not even be something you necessarily want, but very often, that's how it goes. Fandoms come and go - and that's fine. It sucks too, of course, sometimes. But it's fine. It has to be, because the alternative is for nothing to ever change, and that would suck even harder. So enjoy this wonderful fandom we have, gush about it all with your mutuals, and trust that a new blorbo will find you ;).

I had a sudden urge. Without further ado, behold - my fav babies, my cunning, flirty, beloved blorbos.
And one of few things which are still keeping me in SW fandom by this point. Not gonna lie, Disney era of this franchise is not to my liking, so yeah, I am kinda starving for content.
In any case, Grievous and Bane will always give me serotonin, for they’ve gifted my OC so many good adventures in my own fictional world. Perhaps one day I’ll come back to a fandom and greet all of them in a warm embrace.
Also, yes, these blorbos are besties 🤝. It’s a long story, haha. A headcanon by this point really.
P.S. I know these are not perfect pics but they are literary 5 minutes sketches done with a pen only. And the last time I drew these silly geese was like two years ago, give me a break XD

(tumblr compression my beloathed)
behold the rainworld blorbo but AGAIN
whispering reeds and their special little child, the groundskeeper (aka dirtcat)
i dont have a story super set in stone yet but basically. she was built by a very famous engineer named Shifting Winds, Distant Memories as their magnum opus; their final iterator project and greatest creation. Reeds is built within a great valley that is home to a vast agricultural powerhouse, the groundwater under the mountains used both to power her and water the crops. They were built with scientific advancement in mind, equipped with a great greenhouse for studying specimens and a robust laboratory for genetic tinkering. part of their purpose was to engineer new and better crops, animals, and pest repellents to feed a growing population.
The basic beats of her story is that Memories followed a philosophy that the People were a great plague upon nature and that before they may leave this realm, they must atone and fix the sins inflicted upon the natural world; pollution, genetic modification, habitat loss, all of that. as talk of ascension grew louder they turned to drastic measures to get their argument heard, which culminated in an act that killed many people and destroyed a very sacred building in Reed's city. For their crimes, Memories was forcibly dunked into the void and became an echo.
this sent Reeds into a spiraling depression, as since she was raised by Memories, she also follows their philosophy. she grew more and more distant and withdrawn from her people, nearly abandoning the great problem in pursuit of a new goal.
after the People ascended, she dropped the great problem altogether, solely focused on a singular goal; instead of leaving this world via ascension, reeds wants to return to the earth; to reunite with the soil from where the materials that constructed her came. they refuse to leave the world behind without trying everything she can to preserve its natural beauty, so she collects specimens in her greenhouse zoo and has been trying to reverse-engineer the modifications out of them. its a futile task, but it keeps her busy.
her can is overgrown with flora. the heavy rains and the already lush valley have generated a thick rainforest of out-of-control farm crops, weeds, and fungi to smother the valley. the mud is slowly being eroded away by the rain; its only a matter of time until her can collapses into the flooded valley below. her campaign would involve her precious child, the groundskeeper, to go on a journey to send a sos broadcast; an ultimately futile effort to stay alive.

Greek Gods + Goddesses
These are just all my thoughts on their appearances, so take it with a grain of salt, and don't take them too seriously. It's not a powerpoint, ik, but forgive me. I'M LAZY.
ZEUS
The Douchebag Supreme has grey hair and a beard, and over all looks good. Dare I say handsome. He can change to look older or younger, but the crows feet at the edges of his eyes never really go away.
Has an air about him that either makes you really like him or really hate him. You'll never see him skip leg or arm day. His bolt takes a lot to throw (more than he'd admit) so his arm/shoulder/back game is too good for someone with such a bad personality.
POSEIDON
Its easy to nail him as a surfer dude, and no one is more tempted to follow than trend than I am, but I'm not. He's actually more of a trawler fisherman. Real burly bulk.
Messy hair, full beard, tanned skin. Probably has a few scars but not as many as Ares. Wears woolen cloths a lot and looks like a grandpa way too often. His hands a really rough from all the stuff he handles with no gloves and the saltwater getting into callouses.
HERA
I had to look at pictures because unlike everyone else, nothing was coming to mind for what she looks like. But yeah I like this long dark hair portrayed in some pictures. More curled than straight though.
Has the kind of face that can go from looking really kind and soft and motherly - the ideal wife - to looking like she'll ask for your head on a platter when she opens her mouth next. A completely sudden switch between the two and she does it flawlessly. Snaps to her, take that Zeus.
APRODITE
Everyone agrees she is gorgeous, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I am a firm believer in the shapeshifter Aphrodite theory, so what she looks like doesn't matter so much.
Because everyone's view on what is beautiful, or who is the prettiest vary from person to person, her looks come across different for each person, including herself. She doesn't mind so much now as she may have previously.
HEPHESTUS
Poor guy was thrown away by his mother because he was ugly. Ik he's a god but that effects people badly, so he probably doesn't maintain a certain type of appearance. His hair is long, not messy, and he's got a full beard that he would never get rid of because of his disfigured face.
He's got the biggest body of all the gods. Built up a lot of muscle with a healthy layer of fat all over. Like the kind of person you could happily nap on, but who could also crush your head in one hand.
ARES
(Yoiking this one from Rick Riordan) He's got a very scarred face. They're all over his body, God of War and all that, but he still has a handsomeness to him. Not saying all his scars are pretty - there's one across his cheek that's particularly gnarly - but he wears them with pride, so it works.
Very bulky in how his body is built, and honestly he probably walks in a way that makes him even more intimidatingly. Very board shoulders, smaller waist but not snatched. Thighs and biceps are LARGE.
HADES
Just because he's the of of the underworld, I'm going to say his skin is almost transparent in some lighting, you can see his skeleton. I know he's not the god of death, but souls enter in his realm and idk but I feel like he'd kinds fit into that. And I think it looks cool.
Very tall and thin. Dark hair. Looks more starved and wet and paretic than all the blorbos from your shows put together. His eyes are dark but like his skin they seem to fade in and out of existence.
HERMES
He's hard for me to pinpoint a look for. The god of travelers and thieves, a messenger. One thing I can say is that he's small. Not tiny, and by human standards ig he's pretty average. Most likely to pass by you on the street and you not even notice or look at him twice.
Can get into small spaces (flexible), and has the endurance to walk or run whenever he wants (I thinking good leg power). Also most likely to have no collarbones and be blond. idk why.
APOLLO
Gets so much sun time, so his hair is majorly sun-bleached like sailors who spend too much time on deck out at sea, but his skin is dark and full of melanin. He's the one I can see being portrayed as only ever being black - the others are definitely chameleons, but Apollo is definingly a black guy in my books.
Immaculate skincare routine. He thinks it is anyway, even though it could definitely be worse (better? Let's say more complex). Either way, flawless skin. Rocks the moles he has though.
ARTEMIS
I knew she and Apollo are twins, but he's the sun and she's the moon. So her hair is super dark, and her skin is so pale. The only sunlight she sees (unless she's on Mt Olympus) is what's reflected off the moon. Starved Victorian Child kind of pale. Being tanned is a lifestyle and it's not one she lives.
Very small in body-type. I'm thinking almost child-like, but not quite. As if she never grew out of her teen years into maturity. Eternal youth and maidenhood and all that. Her power in in her arms, drawing back on a bow takes practice and time and damn her arms are good for it. Flawless draw.

you as the WolfBoyGuy and me as someone who has just recently seen the puppy light, do you have any tips or what you'd consider Required Reading to get a good grip on writing wolf boys? moreso karu than garu just because i personally have a hard time writing dudes with as much bluster and "doesn't tend to default to conventionally agreed on niceties". i have (admittedly mild) torments I'd like to put him through >_>
Anon is asking me about blorbo... I have been training for this for so long... behold now the ramblings of a man possessed by two wolves. I'll talk a bit about how I approach writing Karu and then include some curated recs.
It took me some time to really get going on wolfboy fics; I also found it challenging to handle Karu's characterization. Two big reasons why:
Tsunderes are just difficult to do if you're grounded in realism. It's a very 'anime' archetype and people don't behave quite like that. This makes it harder to naturally reach for reasonable/appropriate responses when putting the character in situations. The big want/think/say/do splits can also complicate straightforward scenarios (e.g. the character wants something and does what he needs to do in order to get it. This path is often closed to the tsundere).
The game gives little insight into Karu's inner world. NU: Carnival is very dialogue-heavy in its narrative. When we do get introspection, it's often Eiden-focused. This means we basically never get to see the thought process that leads Karu to act this way or that, except in the rare instances in which he talks to himself (like in some H scenes when he goes "ugh it feels so good but-").
The style that I ended up developing for my angry wolf boy writings follows these principles:
Keep him silly. This is because I fundamentally see Karu as a comical character. Yeah, his personality can be traced back to traumas and there's a lot of interesting stuff to explore in that regard, but I am not personally interested in that tbh. The reason I love him is the wacky nonsense and ridiculous behavior that we see in the game. It was at first sight for me. I didn't need depth and I still don't XD Any advice and references I provide are skewed by that. I have a preference for almost never taking him seriously.
Mind his 'narrativization' tendencies. Karu is comically very enamored by the idea/narrative that he's a mighty warrior with many great skills who will conquer humanity and who should be respected and served. On some level, he knows this isn't entirely true, so he will sometimes (try to) avoid situations that would bring attention to his shortcomings. But most often he's trying to prove himself and get others to share his narrative. When something or someone reinforces the narrative, he gets proud, pleased or happy-flustered. When something or someone goes against the narrative, he gets annoyed and angry-flustered. He is very good at ignoring reality, however. Even though he'll seemingly take exception to every little slight, he moves on very quickly and pretends nothing happened. And though he's stubborn, he's also willing to surrender, cut his losses and 'try another day' when he's foiled.
Mix his narrativization with the narration a lot. This kind of free indirect discourse is just my style in general, but with Karu I find myself using it more intensely, to such an extent that the narration can get quite dialogue-like in how it expresses his thoughts. When I want to portray a 'tsundere stumble' moment, I sometimes make the narration interrupt itself as Karu consciously aborts a line of thinking that would lead him to unacceptable conclusions.
Let him just be rude for no reason and with little consequence. Karu's default way of addressing and dealing with people (other than Kuya) is rudeness. At best, he attempts some form of condescension in which the reason he's doing something 'nice' is because you're so weak and he's so awesome or whatever. Most characters seem to simply not mind his behavior and, again, it's usually played for laughs anyway.
Bibliography of Karu Studies
Keep in mind that many Karu fics are kuyaru, and Karu in kuyaru is quite different from the core of the character, since he's uniquely eager to please Kuya. Still, even kuyarus can have some nice insight.
who let the dogs out has a lot of juicy Karu inner conflict, and it even explores the ways in which such hangups make him outwardly grumpier. Due to kuyaru, it ultimately leads him to a place of submission, but his initial thoughts are very in-character.
Baser Instincts is a kuyaru in which Kuya gets to see the pups in a new light, because they help him in a difficult situation. It's another great source of inspiration for Karu struggling to express his feelings.
Bow Down! explores how he might react to Eiden letting him top, in a very true-to-character way.
Lonely at the Top is Karu/Dante, which means you get to see Karu at his prickliest and most insufferable, and how that can be managed.
A Matter of Pride is a good example of the 'concessions' dynamic that can be done in Eiden/Karu.
Goshujin-Ai is an older Karu/Yakumo and a good example of Karu feeling comfortable and doing the 'attempts at condescension' thing I mentioned before.
Slave number one, rub my chest again is me speculating on what it might look like for Karu to ask Eiden to do things to him and try to control sex.
Warden slander wolf Commander is probably a good example of the 'fine I give up but I'll get you next time' potential of Karu, as well as the kind of bleed-heavy narration I talked about.
Master, do you have another wolf besides me?! delves into Karu's potential for jealousy as a way of expressing affection. It's pretty canon-compliant because most of it is adapted from NEON Carnival.
There are many other fics in the Karufic Archive, but I think the ones above are among the best for the purposes of thinking about the writing.
Please feel free to talk to me non-anonymously if you ever want to discuss wolf boy content! As you can see I am cursed with thoughts and need places to put them. I'm also always very happy to do anything that I can to shepherd and sponsor GaruKaru content; if you go ahead with your impulse to write about them (please do) and want a beta reader, don't hesitate to ask~

Explain how you have all the correct opinions on Leander.
Like?????
How do you do this shit?? How do these thoughts enter your mind????
It's like, I would have never thought of this, but it is indisputably correct, perfect fit for him, EVERY TIME
Have a wrong opinion about him. Plz. I'm losing my mind.
I have no idea what is plausible anymore i am so lost in the obsession sauce that comes out of sticking into a blender everyone else's theories + symbolism/lit research + projecting myself + defensive pessimism by assuming the absolute worst of the LIs so I can't get too devastated by whatever canon actually happens.
One day im like "hes just some guy pathetic and does stupid evil shit for good" and one day im like "actually hes kind of completely fucked up he doesnt really care in the way lowtown might think he does. He cares in his own weird savior hero narcissistic way" and one day im like "i have no fucking clue who he's supposed to be at all."
Im glad u think my mad ravings have some sort of merit to them 💀 I dont necessarily expect them to be canon (ofc except the opinions i GOT from the majority of fandom pretty much agreeing on) (and i got most of my opinions from other ppl, not my pea brain 💀).
Tell u what i definitely got uquiz guesses wrong bc the very first time I thought he was Judas by Lady Gaga (monke sees two faced and immediately associates Leander, completely forgoring there is a literal angel wearing a whole mortal skin as a mask and "masquerades as a doctor") and for the longest time I thought he was some sort of spicy food (poison moment) and my dumb ass completely forgor Ais is the epitome of psychological horror with an eldritch being living in his head when i just associated Leander's manipulation with psychological horror.
BTW a lot of the times I go to what might be extremes with characterizing what makes Leander evil but it's just a result of trying not to go insane waiting for 2yrs and tossing the blorbo around. I promise u everybody if how i talk about leander might seem like a "yeah hes fucked up but not for those reasons" moment, ure probably right and i never claim to be correct on anythign. Just trying to toss up as many "what ifs" for fun to brave the winter 😭 U can just ignore my weirdass opinions in these cases (or just ignore any of my opinions like literally it doesnt matter lol)
Sorry if this was a more serious answer than u were expecting bc sometimes i get kinda worried that ppl might feel like im trying to claim to be the Beholder of True Leander with all my weird wiki screenshots and essays and torrent of leanderposting when I'm just some gal fucking around 😭 Nobody has to take any of my theories/opinions seriously im just some rando i promise

for the tag game, howl au? i’m getting howl’s moving castle vibes but even if it’s not that it still sounds cool
bursts through the wall did someone say howl au?
the howl's moving castle au is something i've been noodling on since. probably a little bit after run boy run? so i'd say maybe 2020. i didn't really have any creative outlets in secondary school and college so i'd just be watching movies and shows and going 'hm what if blorbo was there' and behold... howl au
the plot is very similar to the movie; davey is a working class kid trying to make money for his family as the pressures of war close in. manhattan is gathering as many wizards as they can to enlist and any who refuse are charged with treason, the most notable being jack, 'the ranger of the wastes' (i had to find a way to work the cowboy thing in there somewhere) who fled the refuge academy moments before he was expected to enlist and has been being hunted by pulitzer (and supposedly wreaking havoc across manhattan) ever since. like book!sophie, davey is a powerful speaker, though he's always resigned himself to simply being his family's caretaker and ensuring his sibling's success, so he's never noticed this about himself; but magic is a science based in symbols and patterns, and davey has a gift for that - so when he meets the ranger purely by chance, it puts a target on his back for the magical entities that are hunting jack down. he's found by another wizard, 'the dealer' (race) who curses him to be unable to speak. so davey seeks out the ranger to break his curse.
i don't have much of a plot outline beyond that - i don't want to follow the movie beat for beat and i really do love the war imagery in newsies and the idea of words being one of the key things that ended that war, so i want to focus more on that. but in terms of characters, i have race as the witch of the wastes (he's not exactly a jilted ex-lover but he IS still intent on hunting jack down and taking his heart), spot as calcifer, crutchie as markl (though he's more like michael from the book) and katherine as,,, kind of madame suliman? she's a powerful wizard in pulitzer's service, but she's not as antagonistic as suliman.
and a snippet for you:
“There you are, Davey,” says a voice smooth as spiced wine, “so sorry I’m late, I’ve been looking for you everywhere.”
[...]
“Who… Are you?” The little boy asks. His eyes have the same impossible wideness to them as Les, the curiosity that’s only found in children – an eagerness to see as much of the world as possible, even if you can’t yet understand it. David smiles, pressing his hand to the glass of the mirror.
“My name’s Davey.” He says, and as he says it, he knows it’s true. Something spreads within him, a warmth that loosens his muscles and straightens his spine, something that makes him stand tall and unafraid. And he knows now that he is not David Jacobs anymore.
“My name’s Francis.”
[...]
“Jack!” Davey screams over the roar of tearing paper. “Spot!”
The two turn in his direction, Jack’s eyes wide as he cradles his heart in his hands.
“Davey?” His mouth shapes the word, but it’s drowned out by the cracks of falling brick.
“I know how to help you now!” Davey cries as the world is ripped from under him, rivers of watercolour streaming into an inky black abyss. Jack sprints as Davey’s torn away, the hills billowing beneath his feet like loose canvas. He’s yelling something, one arm outstretched, bleeding streaks of paint flying from the torn earth to his glowing fingers-
“Find me in the future!”

Since the season 2 finale, the canyon went above and beyond to show their whole asses to the world with some of the most vile takes i've seen from a fanbase who loves to talk about love, acceptance and good representation, but clearly cannot walk that talk. Sigh. And all of this for a -victim/main/Jesus, the Virgin Mary and the holy spirit combined really- character that only existed in fanon. I was livid most of the times after the finale, but recently my fury has turned to finding what they say and do to be absolutely hilarious. I just can't take any of them seriously, the level of delusion is something to behold, and i won't let them twist anything else for me in this show. So, might as well make fun of what they say and take that power away from them. I won't go out of my way to look for it but if i find one in the wild, fuck it, let's have a laugh, what unhinged take have you cooked for me today? It sucks that they fucked with so many people's enjoyment of the show, but i'm crossing my fingers we'll have peace now that their blorbo is eating the flower by its roots.

And thus, it comes to a close...
A bit late indeed, but I still wanted to take a moment to express my most sincere thanks for all of your incredibly stuff posted and generosity to this event!!!!
Thank you thank you THANK YOU EVERYONE for participating ik this fun little week... Every Single Day was so cherished and adored!!!!! Your artworks and creativity were and still ARE all so so so SO delightful!!! And it was a genuine honor to witness the passion and talent all you guys brought to every entry for Heimes Week. The effort so many of you put into your pieces was evident!!!!! YOU ARE ALL SUCH A TALENTED BUNCH I ADORE U GUYS!!!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 🥺🥺🥺😭😭😭💕💕💕💕💕
All the art and comics were so awesome, I still keep going back and looking at them over and over!!! and it was truly inspiring to see how each and every one of you brought something different to the table. Not to mention the sheer amount of time and energy you all put into each piece was evident and leaves me in AWE, like again some of you were whipping out whole COMICS. Each work of art was so so visibly a labor of love. All yall's talent and dedication shone through in every single piece, and I am still so awestruck by the passion and heart that you guys brought to your work.
Hermes x Heimdall was the pairing that first roped me back into posting in God of War fandom after so many years. The idea of throwing them together goofily bc of their similarities in a way that was both unexpected and captivating inspired me to start creating and sharing GoW art again after a long, long hiatus. The more I delved into this pairing and explored the concept as a whole, the more I found myself drawn back into the fandom.
What brings me the most joy, however, is seeing how much others have been inspired by this pairing as well!!!!! Seeing people genuinely enjoy and appreciate the creativity and effort that goes into creating works centered around Heimes has been so incredibly rewarding. It warms my heart to see how much passion and love people have for GoW and the creative works they produce as a result
God of War as a franchise and a fandom has always held a special place in my heart, and being able to contribute to it again in my own small way, now ours together, has been a true pleasure. Knowing that these kinds of posts have brought happiness and inspiration to others is the greatest reward of all 🥺🥺🥺🥺💕
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart and from all of us vibing with these two blorbos- for being a part of Heimes Week. Your contributions were truly a sight to behold, and it was an absolute privilege to witness your talents day by day!!!! Your super cool art has ABSOLUTELY left a lasting positive impact on all who attended, and I genuinley do look forward to seeing what whimsical creations u all will bring to the world in the future... Keep on creating, and know that you have my deepest praise and admiration.
HERE'S TO NEXT YEAR...
