Top 10 of 2023:

2023 was the inaugural year of Big Day Boston, which took place in early May. Big Day Boston is a birding competition across downtown Boston.

We took a team all around the city and racked up 26 bird species (though the winners got 35). The whole event was an amazing display of the diversity of animals that can live in the most unlikely places and a very fond memory for us.

This house sparrow was photographed in the Granary Burial Ground (a burial site dating back to 1660) and the juxtaposition of life, death, history (both natural and human), habitats, and mutual curiosity made it an impactful moment. We hope to be back for Big Day 2024!

So I got my I Am The Cure print created by @jekyll-doodles some time ago, but I could NOT find a nice frame for it anywhere in town, so I had to sit back and wait for one I ordered to arrive. Then I got long COVID (still recovering), and I finally got up the energy to do this print justice. I sadly don't have much medical-themed paraphenalia, but I had a couple skulls (crow and beaver), a shed rattle snake skin in a jar (collected her locally), and some dried roses! I wish I had like, a rosary or something to drape over the frame, but I'm a pagan heathen lol

I legit love this print so much and can hardly wait to get it up on my wall!! Or maybe I'll leave it where it is, I have no idea lol

EDIT: Sorry about the distracting reflections int he glass, I couldn't find a decent angle to get them to go away without laying the frame down. Maybe I should have taken the glass out for the photo QwQ

Top 10 of 2023:

As we walked off the plane on Baltra Island in the Galapagos and we were greeted by this land iguana, less than 10 feet from the jetway gnoshing on some local succulents. It was an amazing encounter that really set the tone for the trip. Thankfully, the other passengers were okay with us taking up some of the path to break out the gear and the iguana was equally accommodating!
