As you may have heard, horrible wildfires devastated Maui this week. The historic town of Lahaina was leveled. They have confirmed 36 people dead, but expect that number to rise dramatically. People have lost their homes, businesses, jobs, pets.

Another quick scam spotting guide

How to tell if the blog that sent you an ask to share a pinned pet post is a scam:

Turn on timestamps and check the date of the pinned post. Usually it is a few hours old though may also be a week old or more depending on when you looked at it.

Scroll the posts of the account. If there is only a few here and there, the account shared them minutes apart to look more legitimate and didn’t think anyone would look further than that. If the reblog date is older then the source post, the account backdated the reblog.

Move your mouse over the PayPal address and look at the thru-link. Does the country of origin match the location of the vet itself? If it doesn’t, somethings amiss. On mobile, press and hold down on the link to see the thru-link.

Search the username or PayPal name in tumblr search. This should bring up any alerts posted for the account. If none are found, it’s likely a new account that hasn’t been documented yet and doesn’t mean it’s legitimate.

If still unsure, publicly answer the ask (don’t answer it privately) and request the sender to take a picture of the pet with a paper that has the blogs name on it. Alternatively, ask them why the PayPal origin doesn’t match the vet location. If the blog blocks you instead of answering, then congrats! It was a scam.

Hi. After extensively reading the document I am throughly disgusted and disappointed. The behavior found in it and the way the mod decided to handle it in an immature and frankly disrespectful way is unacceptable. I saw them as someone who was a positive light and now I am confused on whether to delete their asks or not.

As someone who was groomed, these accusations and the evidence presented are not taken lightly. The amount of minors who have been damaged due to an adult’s inability to control their mental state and seek legitimate help is staggering and I hate that it has happened once again. No matter how dark things get, how awful your brain is, you DO NOT under ANY circumstance get to treat minors that way. And if they came to you first asking for inappropriate content then as an adult YOU SAY N O. Clear and simple. The fact you had the chance to better yourself even after hurting someone, and you blew it makes me furious.

I will reblog the PSA onto both blogs and delete any interactions I have had with them. Moving forward please remember this blog and others I own are PG-13 and only adults with adult characters will be allowed to ship with mine, if at all. Thank you for reading.

I have heard some nasty things only by second hand, I've not delved too far into the drama nor do I care to, but I just needed to pop in and be sure to tell all of you lovelies you're perfectly valid for exploring all aspects of your muses, including their sexuality. The lovely thing about Tumblr is now not only is there a blacklist feature, you can now be sure to mark any spicy times writing as 18+, offering a double layer of the option to opt out if someone is sex repulsed.

Sex repulsion, however, is never justification for callouts and harassment of those who partake. Filter, unfollow, block, and maybe have some introspection on why you allow your sex repulsion to turn into sex negativity and purity policing. Much of the sex negativity in society stems from very alt-right, heteronormative conservatism. Maybe check that at the door, rather than drag such harmful mentalities into a predominantly queer space.

Let's also remember that choosing to write a character as an adult is not "aging up for smut". All canon characters were at one point in time a child whether or not it is covered in canon material, and adult muses interacting will never be something other than just that- adults interacting with each other. To imply there is a malevolent reason for choosing a different point in that muse's timeline to write within is silly.

To anyone affected by negativity from this, remember no one who knows better cares if you write smut, and if there are those within your circle that do, please do right by yourself and remove them from your space with a block. You should not be stressing over pleasing one or two sex negative people on your dash. Go forth and write all the spicy times, lovelies, and be sure to indulge in some self care while you're at it!

I have literally no idea when I’ll be on my own RP blogs, life’s been an amazing rollercoaster of events the past couple years (if anyone wants an actual update on that uh.. let me know??? a lot’s changed for me since I was active on here) — but regardless, I’m finally gonna try to get back to being active on this page. obviously I do all the content I do out of love for these characters and love for writing, but also... if I was writing only for myself, I wouldn’t share it on a blog like this, and I wouldn’t even open requests.

I write for myself because I love what I do here, but I also very much write for you guys! seeing people reblog my content and talk about what they liked about it makes me so happy, and when I know that people are out there enjoying it so much they want to share it, that gives me big serotonin and makes me want to write even more.

(and, sometimes, it’s maybe a little discouraging to write something that I am proud of, and it gets posted, and it gets a ton of likes... but no reblogs or comments or anything like that. you know what I mean? I love that you guys give my stuff likes as well, of course!! but sometimes when I see things like “50 likes, 0 reblogs”, it takes a little bit of the wind out of my sails, as I’m sure anyone else who creates content can understand)

obviously this is not mandatory or anything and I don’t want to force anyone to do anything... but I do want you guys to know how appreciated it makes me feel when you reblog my things and ramble about your favorite parts or things like that.

it’s a win-win; it makes me happy, and it makes me want to write more, which results in more content to make you guys happy!

A simple guide to pet scam blogs

Why hello there! I am Jess/Key, and I am a local scam buster. You’ve likely seen me via asks that I’ve sent informing people of scam posts. Unfortunately, there are still users out there who are falling for these scams. So now over here, I’m making a list of a quick way to find out if the blog sending you an ask is a scam account! I do what I do for free, but a coffee is always appreciated! Please turn on timestamps for this guide to work as intended. You can check out @kyra45 for more detailed posts then this.

tl;dr: Week old blog sending you an ask to share their pet post is likely a scam account. Some real blogs do exist but scams ruin them. It’s not to say all people doing this are scammers, but please take caution.

How old is the blogs pinned post? If the pinned post is about a week old, treat it with some suspicion. Scam blogs tend to last a while but the date should give it away that something is off. Generally speaking, the post is not that old and the notes will say they were asked to share it.

How many posts does the blog have? If the blog has only a few posts here and there, add that as suspicious behavior. Are the posts reblogged within minutes of the other? Usually their trending posts and don’t have any tag added on. This is a sign that the blog just found random posts to share to look legitimate and is not the sign it’s someone true.

Did they follow you? Just because the blog followed you, it doesn’t mean their true. Scam blogs do this to look more real and gain trust quickly. They don’t care about your problems and rely on your trust to spread their scam post. They may also follow your mutuals to look legitimate. This is just a trick and no, your mutual is not their friend they just lie. No one knows them as a friend. If they did, they’d tell them to stop.

If you search their address and account name, does anything show up? Generally speaking, scam accounts will send so many asks they’ll get called out pretty quickly. Consider this when you get an ask from one. A quick search should bring up any info your looking for.

Reverse image search is not always reliable! For the most part, content posted by scam accounts is coming from Facebook. This means without an account there, you won’t find their pictures. The post may also be from a private Facebook group, increasing the difficulty of locating a source. Be aware someone sharing the post may also make the image show up tricking you into thinking the asker is the owner. This is not legitimate proof that the scam isn’t a scam. Please do not use this as proof that the scam asker is the owner.

Use your own knowledge. If your still unsure about what a scam blog is, feel free to search around for info of these scams. There are already so many posts out there that you should find what you need pretty fast! In a sense, you can decide whether or not to trust someone whose telling you the blog is a scam.

PSA to those interested in DPxDC Crossover Content

Reminder that, as per the Danny Phantom x DC discord stated rules, the official tag that the crossover fandom operates under is DPxDC with NO spaces. This is because Tumblr filters do a bad job when it comes to spaces and often get confused.

If you wish to participate in the dpxdc fandom, please tag all your content accordingly, and DPxDC server mods have advised people to avoid using the DC tag and the Danny Phantom tag. This is because the dpxdc fandom entirely overpowers the danny phantom fandom in sheer numbers alone, and it is in fact so big with so much lore that it's really a separate entity from both DP and DC. And tagging properly reduces unwanted flooding to the separate fandoms.

And as mentioned previously, there is a huge DPxDC discord server you can join if you're interested. I truly wish I did not need to continue addressing this, but I am an 18+ blog. I produce memes that touch on dark and spicy topics. I do notice when minors are engaging with my content and following me, despite the 18+ warning on every post and every page. These minors are immediately blocked. I do not go back through my block list, you are simply losing the ability to follow in future when you’re old enough.

This is not behavior that is going to get you very far in the roleplaying community even as you become a legal adult. Ignoring posted boundaries and acting as though someone’s rules don’t apply to you will result in less people writing with you. They do not appreciate it- especially when your blog has a long list of rules and DNI. Hypocrisy is a turn off, lovelies. Read bios and rules before following someone always.
