Don’t mind me busting out a grill and cooking some hot dogs with my crush (he’s very into hot dogs) while I advocate for ConPiku. Bonfire’s in the corner and as any good old American I endorse the irresponsible use of lighter fluid at a bonfire (we hosed the grass around the firepit down so have fun)

Pieck and Connie in OWL are a very special pairing and I like to think that Connie sees a bit of Sasha in Pieck. They’re both very carefree and funny people, where Pieck is funny and smart, and Connie is funny and dumb. I think in an actual romantic relationship it wouldn’t really last super long because Pieck does need someone who can intellectually stimulate her and Connie is much more “look at the surface level of what’s going on, and go from there,” and is maybe a bit too trusting, but I think for a short time, they’d have a ton of fun and even if they did break up, I think they’d still have the emotional maturity to stay friends (because Connie is BY FAR the most emotionally mature of the scouts). I do think their respective abilities to get the big picture mesh well and I also feel like there would be a mutual respect that they’re both incredibly loyal and committed, sometimes even to a fault.

From a purely platonic standpoint, they would ABSOLUTELY do some major prank wars and target Jean and Reiner especially, and I do think in the 2 years they were in Péllon (OWL’s version of Paris) with the other ambassadors before finally going to the island, Connie and Pieck wreaked havoc on everybody. They’re a crack ship AND a brotp for me.

Connie is the type of prankster that would pour shampoo on Reiner’s head while he was showering so he just gets confused as to why his shampoo is just NOT washing out.

Pieck is the type of prankster who would anonymously Halloweenie Armin and Annie’s house just to watch them be slightly inconvenienced by having to clean it all up

Connie and Pieck would be a couple of MENACES if they were together in a room for too long. This is what they would do to Jean’s apartment at a party.

Also ty ty ty SO much for the OWL love 🥰 writing Pieck and fleshing out her character has been really fun and a bit cathartic for myself. I also have a tendency to put my dad on a pedestal (he does a lot of good things for me without question) and feel as though I have to make some sort of mark as a way to show gratitude. It’s a lot of pressure that’s self-imposed, and it’s part of why I find Pieck to be so fascinating. Not only does she want to make a difference in the world for Eldians and prove their usefulness (as well as her own), but she signed her own life away to help her father. It’s a combination of selflessness and extreme selfishness that I like to explore for her sake and my own. Did she have hidden motives behind signing up as well? Or was it entirely altruism that pushed her to do it?

It makes me wonder if there was ever a point where Pieck’s father was apprehensive over her joining the warrior program, especially since he seems to be the only parent of any of the warriors that has a healthy and loving relationship with his child. Even if he has significant issues with his health (his illness is never specified but I generally headcanon a type of early-stage cancer), he seems like he loves Pieck enough to want her to live a full life, and I think that would be an interesting contrast considering that all of the other warrior parents that are more fleshed out end up forcing or manipulating their children into becoming warriors. It makes me wonder if they had a blowout fight when she was given the cart? Or is he gentle enough with her that he just accepted it and did his best to support her while swallowing his own feelings? I love characters that are left vague like this because there’s so many questions you can ask about their motives and their desires, and so many answers you can come up with.

As far as myself, I’m dealing with a lot regarding finances and work and it’s really dragging me down tbh. It’s very difficult to find consistent work in the film industry still and I’m so passionate about it that I have a hard time dealing with the hot and cold nature of it. It’s definitely tough out here trying to focus on the positives when my government is led by such corrupt and incompetent people. I’m trying my best though and that’s honestly all we can do at the end of the day.

I guess I can say I like him talk. He sounds like such a sleazy son of a bitch, but it never breaches sounding slimey or unlikable. And I think that's on purpose, for his part. I can listen to him dig himself a bigger grave for hours.

Least favorite thing about them:

I say all that shit up top to ALSO say that it is also his weakness. He routinely screws himself or others over (looks at PaTD), and I won't lie, he sometimes hit a spore spot. Buuuuut I hate that I still can't hate him, despite all of that.

brOTP:

Cheated and Oppy: the gambler and dealer. While I don't see Cheated as a gambler, I certainly see them fucking with each other for fun. Cheated cursing him out like "Goddamit Oppy!" And he be like "I didn't do anything~" and sometimes he be wrong!

Contra and Oppy: (Connie used she/her) chaos together. Connie fucking around his manipulation game seems like fun. Oppy wondering what her deal is and her deal is to fuck around and find out. Very whimsy but also really threatening, under the right context. And Connie still loves him!~♡

I can still see it working, even with Canon. Stubborn is strong, and blunt, a perfect bodyguard. And Oppy lowkey likes that reliable stability so he keeps to his good side. But stubborn isn't a meat sack, he has feelings and smarts, so Oppy can't go too far with his bullshit before stubborn tells him to quit it. Stubborn keeps him in line and I love that for them. And maybe when oppy doesn't need to convince him to make him stay, he can lower his walls...

nOTP:

I am...not as attached to Witchtunist as I am Thorntunist. Don't get me wrong, I will accept them as opposites and parallels for one another. But as a romantic couple like I do the other 2 ships...? Yeah no. I am burnt out on 2 clearly awful people getting together. Toxic people are not obligated to stay together if they just enabled each other.

(With that being said, I am all for these 2 working their shit out and reconciling but thats, again, Poppy territory)

Unpopular opinion- I don't think I'm deep enough into the fandom to really know if this is unpopular or not, and also this is technically just another headcanon, but I like to think that all the people trying to kill Cipher and calling him a demon didn't actually bother him that much? It was less of "Oh everyone wants me dead" that got to him and more "oh everyone is looking at me to save them, this wasn't supposed to happen."

I also don't like shannon— she's cunty and all that, but I haven't managed to connect with her character outside of sometimes saying "yeah, slay, shes on her brat summer". I hope her character development brings her somewhere where I can connect, but so far I couldn't care less about her (and the incest subplot with boone made me like her much less, I also dislike boone for it... I just think that not being blood related doesn't excuse anything. a family is not always determined by blood.)

First headcanon that pops into my head: As I said, one of my biggest headcanons is that they were together in the past. And that they had a VERY nasty break up. When they used to date, everything was awesome but then Sangwoo went to SNU, and Gi-hun didn't wait for him and got married, Sangwoo got bitter towards him and buried his feelings during all those years. Then when he saw Gi-hun again in the games, he felt anger and resentment towards him but he acted as if he didn't care (he was just pretending, Sangwoo cares a lot but he pretends), that resentment pushed him to want revenge and not warn Gi-hun in game 2, even if that would mean Gi-hun would be killed, he wanted to convince himself that he had no feelings for Gi-hun and that he wouldn't care if he dies or not, but after he did that he regretted it so much that he realised he still has feelings for Gi-hun, but it was too late and there was no way to stop the game. So he left Gi-hun's survival to chance, which he hated and was so angry at himself for it, he had some serious emotional pain when the game was ongoing, then Gi-hun survived and he felt so relieved, he was still mad and resentful but he realised he still has feelings for him despite everything. And we know the rest, just Sangwoo struggling about not being over his first love. If Gi-hun hadn't survived Sangwoo would have never forgiven himself and would have unalived himself, we know Sangwoo is suic*dal.

One way in which I relate to this character: Okay time to get serious here, I relate to him getting embarrassed and uncomfortable whenever Gi-hun bragged about Sangwoo's accomplishments and being considered the genius of his neighbourhood because I've been there too, whenever people brag about me I get so uncomfortable because when people know that you went to an elite college or they consider you smart, they place very high and unrealistic expectations on you and you have to live with those expectations on your shoulders, which is a huge weight and you somehow are forced to live up to the expectations of others. Perhaps that's why he invested in futures and stocks, because he wanted to live up to the very high expectations people placed on him. It is really very uncomfortable when other people brag about your accomplishments, if you have been in that situation in the past you may understand how uncomfortable it is. Your close ones feeling proud is pretty much appreciated but other people don't need to know, precisely because of the high expectations they will inevitable place on you. For Sangwoo it's better to lay low, also because he's an introvert (extreme introverts will understand this). This gets even worse in Asian societies. As a person of Asian descent myself, let me tell you the pressure is hard!! the expectations are hard, you are expected to succeed so your parents can brag about you and if you don't, they see you as a failure, so in a way I can understand Sangwoo, that's why he ended up there in the games, he didn't want to disappoint anyone.

Thing that gives me second hand embarrassment about this character: He not admitting his gayness and feelings about Gi-hun is very cringy.

Okay, well, let me translate some information about Butterfly from original post since so many people asked for her. Sorry for being too long in silence, as you see, I'm alive, haha.

Butterfly has an... autophobia (fear of loneliness)? But in much light form. This does not prevent her from living, but it manifests itself in her behavior. You know that her parents are not a couple, just like friends, brotp, whatever you like, so we can say Butter is a kind of fusion.

She’s very kind and cheerful person, she also likes to joke (Epic instilled her a sense of humor) and does this really good unlike Starcross (aww, sorry, baby, I told them the truth). Butterfly always tries to show her parents that she’s alive and she wants their attention. Maybe even obsessive behavior… but no one minds! So yes, she doesn’t live with Epic nor Color, she has separate house in abandoned void. Thanks to creators, Butterfly doesn’t need to eat, she entertains herself with anime that Epic recommends to her, and also she likes to play with puzzles!

Well, when Epic knew he has a daughter, he was confused at first, but he admitted it and now tries to educate Butter. Color thinks this is annoying and Epic tells her an absurdity (in real, he just hangs out with her, but we know Epic is actually smart). Color is more serious, he was skeptical when she was born, but the most parents’ duty he takes over on himself, so they discuss more about important things while walking somewhere in a quiet place.

Don’t think they don’t love her, they just, um, busy enough to be together every time. Butterfly appeared in wrong “couple’’ in wrong time, but both of them try make her happy.

But she is a good example of 'misguided not evil' (see Viren for evil), her hatred isn't blind. Her opinion changes easily and quickly if the evidence proves her wrong, she doesn't try to ignore it nor does she try to defend herself or any actions she took while under the wrong impression.

She still makes mistakes, she lets her sense of humor make an insensitive ass out of herself from time to time. But she recognizes her mistakes, works to correct them, and tries not to repeat them.

general opinions: Where do I begin? Gus is perfect (end of essay 😂). I will admit he wasn't my favorite character from the show until about last October, after TTT aired, but he definitely is now. He's just so damn cool. Like, you have this 12/13 year old hanging out with people 1-3 years older than him and he not only holds his own but he's the coolest fucking 13 year old I've ever seen. He's so so smart and powerful, he's mature, and he is way way more than just the comic relief or whatever stale takes I've seen about Gus online. There's nothing wrong with being funny, and there's nothing wrong with using humor to cope with trauma. He's still a young kid going through puberty, and being stuck in the human realm (when it's been his dream to see the human realm) hits him the hardest out of everyone. But people take that scene and really infantilize him over it. He's a single child with a single dad, which makes him a lot like Luz in a way (and I bet they have some shared traumas they can absolutely bond over with losing a parent), but just because he's dependent on his dad and missing him does not make him a small, weak child. He's a kid, yeah, but he's a damn tough kid, and if you're sad, you can bet your ass he will be the first one to try and make you smile. If WAD doesn't have a gus-centric focus y'all will see me on the news! also only Gus would be able to train matty let's be real here LMAO but I love Gus so much and I think he's very relatable to us former-gifted kids, who always felt pressure to surpass everyone's expectations of our skills in school. He has an incredible support system in place with Willow and Hunter, I love their dynamic so much, he really deserves friends like them and Matt!! Because, while yes I do ship Gus with Matt, I hc that they build up such a strong and solid friendship first, which is how any great relationship should be :) Anyways yeah, Augustus Porter is awesome <3

favorite thing about them: The way he speaks!! The way he's clearly very smart and speaks with purpose while also being very ominous and offputting.. and also his english VA is just fantastic. It's what made me interested in him in the first place when i started playing the game

least favorite thing about them: 100% definitely the thing with his sister. End of trial 3 reveal. No question.

Starting off, I don't ship Graylu or Grayza (Nalu and Jerza ftw!) but I believe Gray had crush on both Lucy and Erza once. Gemini revealed in Oracion Seis arc that Lucy is Gray's type. And if we try to find similarities in Erza and Lucy, there are quite a few :

Both are level-headed and mature while also being absolute dorks at times. Of course, they're the prettiest too. They both have what it takes to keep the team in check, they're passionate about their friends and lastly, they both respect the boundaries of their respective lovers(Natsu and Jellal) despite both having been shown to have clear crush them. They are willing to wait for the right time.

That's Gray's type. Lucy and Erza are everything Juvia isn't nor can she ever be. She isn't Gray's type at all. She has been forced upon him. She doesn't have many friends, she doesn't respect personal boundaries, she is over possessive to the extent of attacking and wishing bad for others, she's even jealous of Wendy, a kid who happens to be like Gray's younger sibling, Frosch, an exceed even. Which is utterly disgusting. That's not the woman Gray wanted but unfortunately got. Would bring rain upon an entire town because of her own emotions.

I actually really love how you ship differently than me, (I mean not really, since I ship Nalu and Jerza as well, just in how you don't ship Gralu) but that you're able to look at the manga/anime objectively! That's seriously a skill so many fans don't have.

You're not being delusional like some Pro gr///vians are when they try to claim juvia and Natsu are best friends, or that Gray and Lucy act like siblings so shipping them would be inc*st. (Seeing 2 characters as a BROTP is totally fine, but what's not fine is claiming that shipping them would be inc*st. And yet, some Pros claim it to make Gralu shippers look bad.)

Anyway, the thing you're looking at objectively here is that Gray seems to canonically have had a crush on both Lucy and Erza, and I agree, despite also not shipping Grayza! Gray thought both were strong and beautiful. It shows us hints at a crush on Erza in that one episode where Gray thought she looked beautiful while she was sleeping, and maybe the flashback one where Gray kinda blushed as kids when Erza idr cried or something. And then yeah, you mention it right, Gemini showed how highly Gray views Lucy and how she's the "whole package". And then throughout the show, Gray shows how hot he finds Lucy, and blushes several times, like the time he was looking for her in her house, or in the Tower of Heaven, or in the Key of the Starry Heaven arc where he imagined her in an outfit made of paper etc. Anyway, those were just some supporting examples of what you were saying.

I totally agree with you about the similarities Erza and Lucy share! Oh wow, every point is just so perfect. They're both smart, hard-working, lively and fun, they're strong, and they're loving. And you're darn right that they're the prettiest of them all! I especially love how you bring attention to how they are both willing to wait for the right time for their respective partners! That's such a good point: they put their love interest above their own desires.

And yeah, that's the exact opposite of what juvia is. she puts what she wants first, disregarding anyone it hurts, namely most of all Gray, the fricking object of her affection. That goes against all the morals the whole story of Fairy Tail tries to extol onto its watchers and readers, where you should be giving it all for your friends, that you'll put them first. But Mashima decided to completely dump that moral when it comes to juvia and make selfish, jealous, delusional, obsessive romantic "love" a virtue.

I agree, there is no reason juvia exists. she shouldn't in the first place. she doesn't make Gray's life better (she's literally ruining him), she doesn't make Fairy Tail a better place (she antagonizes all the women, even literal children and creatures of other species like you mention, Anon), and she certainly doesn't make her own life better through being a horrible person and manipulating and forcing an unwilling man to be her lover (not that I care that she's ruining her own life, it just goes to show that she's helping no one out).
