Scar Talks.
(This is a prequel to another tumblr fic I wrote. Check it out!)
“…As I was saying, Scar,” Doc chuckled evilly, “we have ways of making you talk.”
“Really?” Scar said incredulously. He pulled on the restraints tying his arm to the chair, “I mean, Doc, I’ve been in a lot of interrogations before. You don’t have the chops.”
Scar glanced across the room, to where Keralis was leaning against a suspiciously-blank wall. Apart from Keralis’ perch, the chamber was empty, and Scar decided to ignore it for now. He had far more pressing concerns, like the awful sartorial choices of his fellow Hermits.
Both of them were wearing matching white suits with black ties and dress shoes, which Scar thought made them look very silly. He’d humor them for awhile (and make fun of them for sure), and then he was making for the door.
Speaking of the door… His wheelchair was still parked beside him. Not that it was much help, because the door was still locked. Great. Well, never hurt to try some honeyed words…
“By the way, this is the most accessible interrogation room I’ve ever been in. No sills, nice flat hallways, big doors. Top three for sure. Thanks for that.” Scar said warmly.
Doc sniffed, doing his best to hide his smile.
“Of course. What do you take me for? Anyway. We’re getting off-topic, Scar. Like I said, we have ways of making you talk. And you’re going to tell us everything you know.”
“I don’t think so. You two don’t have deep enough pockets for that.” Scar chuckled.
“But Sweetface,” Keralis said, batting his eyes, “I need to know! I need to! It’s important!”
“Well, what do you want to know? Maybe we can work something out,” Scar said smoothly, “make all of this unnecessary.”
“Oh, I’ll tell you. You know where Etho keeps his computer, yes? And his keyboard. And his tissue box. I just want to give him better things.” Keralis said, pressing his hands to his chest, “You just have to tell us where he keeps these things. It isn’t that hard.”
Scar shook his head.
“So that’s what you’re after…Well, no can do, Keralis. Etho swore me to secrecy. And is paying me handsomely.”
Keralis shrugged.
“Suit yourself. Doc? Take it away.”
Doc stepped in front of Scar with an evil smile.
“One chance. Tell us where Etho keeps that keyboard, and you can leave.”
Scar smirked.
“This ain’t my first rodeo, Doc. I’m not telling you anything.”
Doc just shrugged, and punched a button on the wall.
Scar spared a glance at Keralis, who was smiling benevolently.
A slimestone flying machine slid up, revealing a well-lit room on the other side of a tinted glass wall. In that room, Iskall and Gem sat on either sides of a table, chatting away with big smiles on their faces.
“That’s your method? Chitchat?” Scar raised an eyebrow, “This is pathetic.”
Doc leaned in, eyes blazing with menace.
“I wouldn’t be so cocky,” he said softly, “this glass is completely soundproof. They can’t hear a word we’re saying in there. But there’s speakers in the walls. You’ll be able to hear everything.”
Scar frowned.
“How’s that going to help?”
Doc grinned, and tapped a button on his wrist.
“Gem? Iskall? Time for you to earn your pay. If you’re both ready…we can begin.”
Both hermits craned their necks up to look at the ceiling. They both shrugged, and then they started to talk.
The speakers kicked on, and-
“No, that’s not right.” Gem said, “See, that Anakin guy was the bounty hunter, right? With the friend who’s dressed as a bear?”
“Oh, yeah, right. My bad. And then the guy in the like, blue and white trashcan, he’s…?” Iskall scratched his head and started to write something on a piece of paper.
Scar’s eyes bugged out.
“Doc. How long are they going to do this?” Scar said, beads of sweat staring to form on his forehead. His smile was gone.
“That’s up to you.” Doc said with a vicious smile.
“-Okay, I think I got this worked out,” Gem said, “so that Obiwobi guy fought off the Death Star with a sword?”
Scar screamed.
“Yeah, now you’re getting it. And then that Luke guy was all, “I am your father!” to, uh, what was her name again?” Iskall scratched his head.
“I think it was Lilo?” Gem said, “Yeah, definitely Lilo.”
Scar threw his head back and screamed.
“I’L TALK! I’LL TALK! MAKE IT STOOOOOOPPPPPP!!!”

pancakes (pt. 7)
Tumblr media
AKA - the story of how the naive australian rookie befriended the gym junkie F1 hospitality worker with the shoe collection - and inadvertently broke the grid's most treasured and unspoken rule: you don't go for y/n.
series masterlist here :)
the pancakes recipe here :)
A/N: here we are! and CHARLES WON MONACO! (also sorry for the lance slander RPM influences me far too much)
Tumblr media
P7 - 2.5L water bottle
"Oh for fuck's sake."
The lyrics rapping over the Metro Boomin beat were cut off as you turned off your engine. You huffed spotting the asshole in green getting out of the Aston Martin in front of you.
Mother fucking Lance Stroll.
Stroll got on your every nerve from the fact that he, as a paid driver, was the epitome of what you hated about F1 and the cash is king nature of the sport. It didn't help your opinion of him that his treatment of the Hospitality workers was very telling of his personality (i.e a spoiled little bitch) - but he also treated the rest of Aston Martin like that.
His engineers he bossed around. His PR team he bossed around. His fucking team principle he bossed around. You had never ever seen a driver be able to literally pick and choose what Media they wanted to do until Lance Stroll. Not even Räikkönen had gotten away with things that way Stroll did.
The worst part of it all, though, was that Lance's attitude of I can do whatever I want meant that he really thought he could get any girl he wanted.
Namely - you.
Your Supra wasn't exactly inconspicuous and Lance had (unfortunately) been in F1 long enough to make the connection that the flash JDM car parked in the lot tended to belong to you. And even though your windows were tinted a few shades darker than legal limit, Lance was getting out of the car right next to you. There was no chance he didn't know that it was you.
If anything, he likely made his driver park next to your Supra on purpose.
"Lord give me strength." You muttered seeing him come up to your window.
But then Lance Stroll had the fucking audacity to tap on your window.
You immediately reached for the handle and opened the door which caused him to stumble for the lack of space as you did so. "Oh, woah! Hey!" The Canadian accent pissed you off for no other reason than it reminded you of Drake. Someone else you fucking despised.
"Don't touch my car." You said, voice flat.
"Oh, er. My bad. Nice looking ride."
"Thanks." You said curtly, internally cringing at how he said 'ride' like that. You went around and grabbed the vast array of things you always hauled with you. Said items for today consisted of your gym bag, your workbag, your lunch bag and your comically large 2.5L water bottle. You always were carrying a lot.
"Need help?"
"No."
"I insist."
"Don't."
"Why you always gotta play hard to get?"
You said nothing, forcefully biting your tongue. You were out of practice with Lance Stroll's shit since Domenicali had finally relented and cut the amount of shifts you would be rostered on Aston Martin. Which had been a shame since the crew were quite nice and you really taking the piss with Nando.
Still, Lance Stroll was insufferable - and you were evidently out of practice dealing with his spoiled delusions. You were just glad his father wasn't around. God help you when it came to the European races.
"I have to get to work." You said and locked your car. There was a call from behind where some Aston Martin people were waiting Lance but he ignored them. Instead, falling into step with you.
"I don't see you around Aston Martin anymore." He said, trying to make conversation.
You kept ignoring him, hoping he'd get the hint. Pulling out your phone, you started to compose a to text to Oscar. He would coming here with Lily and had said something about finally introducing the two of you. Your eyes checked the time at the top of your phone screen. Based on what time it was, Oscar should've been here by now - and could save you from Lance Stroll.
to: piazzas 👼
where the fuck are u ?? lance stroll is trying to talk to me send help
"I don't know." Was all you said, typing away with one hand as the other held a bag, hoodie, bottle and lanyard. You lifted the arm to tap in through the gate and then continued to ignore Lance - who continued to walk beside you and speak.
"That wouldn't be because you're working for McLaren." Lance said. This made you fingers pause as the blatant comment caught you off-guard. You sucked your teeth and took a deep breath. You adjusted your grip on your bags and continued to type another message.
to: piazzas 👼
srsly im gonna fucking rage at this point
"I don't know what you're on about." You said and felt relief seeing the Read time-stamp arrive below your sent message and three dots finally pop up as Oscar typed a response.
Lance made that irritating sound - his laugh. "You know my dad will pay you double what they're paying."

I'm at the McLaren motorhome. In a meeting with some PR. Can you come?
You huffed and pocketed your phone. Your shift was at Ferrari today and so there was no logical reason for you to walk into McLaren. Then again, it was early and you were yet to get dressed. It should be okay. People rarely noticed you since you looked like some random trainer with the amount of stuff you always carried.
Except, right now, Lance Stroll was not getting the hint and pissing off. Meaning you couldn't exactly freely walk into McLaren no questions asked.
Especially after that comment about you working for McLaren.
"What do you say?" The annoying idiot stood there, still waiting on you apparently.
"What?" You asked, shifting the items in your hand and pausing in your steps. You were in front of Ferrari right now and considered going in to dump your stuff before sneaking off to McLaren. That would at least get rid of Lance.
"Just say the number. How much. Dad wants you onboard and so do I. And all that legal stuff we can sort out." Lance said with a nonchalant shrug that pissed you off more than it should've. "My trainer isn't really working for me anyway."
You stared at him. Was he being serious right now? Your mouth fell open at the audacity and you glanced at his manager behind him who was looking up at the sky, clearly uncomfortable.
But, of course, unable to say anything.
"Ah, Stroll! Mademoiselle is with us today!" You turned your head to the French accent of your other favourite Team Principle. Fred Vasseur arrived with one half of the Scuderia drivers beside him. Your eyes widened on the sight of Carlos there, sunglasses pushed up in the head of hair that had its own fan-accounts and was the star of many, many Tiktok thirst edits.
Fuck.
Last night, your uncle had thrown you for a loop. Carlos Sainz had somehow infiltrated your uncle's sphere with a video of him refusing to sign a Barcelona jersey. This, your uncle took as a good omen and a worth his approval.
"Approval for what?"
"None of these drivers are worth your time. But this one seems good." Your uncle's voice had sounded through the speaker function of your phone as you balanced a ball on your head. Hearing his voice always had you picking up a football - and Dia had never been in short supply of balls at home.
"Because Carlos didn't sign a Messi jersey?"
"His name is Carlos?" Your uncle asked and you had groaned, expecting him to make some ridiculous comment about the similar names being a good omen or something.
"Yeah. Carlos Sainz."
"Sainz? Hm. Is he's father a rally driver?"
"Yes." You had frowned, not expecting that. How did your uncle know that?
"Ah! I know him. Good family." Your uncle had said. "Why didn't you tell me about him before?"
"What?" You said, still stuck on how your uncle knew the Sainz family. How?"
"I want you to talk to him. Carlos." Your uncle didn't relent. "Go have dinner together. He has a good face."
Your uncle's attempts to get you married to what he deemed was a 'respectable man' and not, in his opinion, 'some limpy Frenchman' (you would often remind him Charles was from Monaco nor was it was like that between you two) or 'some tatted up Australian wanna be Italian' (Daniel barely identified as Italian).
However, all of your uncle Carlo's options had always been footballers which, you and Dia knew, was just a ploy to move you from car circuits to football pitches.
But last night, you found, Carlos Sainz apparently had the Ancelotti tick of approval and he was adamant you and Carlos apparently go out for dinner.
You took your uncle's comments to be why you suddenly found yourself feeling a little awkward seeing the driver in the flesh.
That and the fact that they had led you through a #carlossainzedit deep dive unlike anything before.
You had lost count of how many times you'd heard the "all I see is sainz all I see is carlos sainz" version of the Rihanna lyric.
"Maybe next race you can have her." The Spanish driver - who apparently had your uncle's approval - said. Carlos took a sip from the small coffee cup in hand. He was on his piccolo, you noted.
Carlos came up to you and you felt yourself caught out and taken aback by him openly reaching for the strap of your gym bag and your bottle, prying them for your hands. The surprise had you letting go and once Carlos had a grip on them, he nodded at everyone in green. "See you guys on track." And put a hand on your back to guide you into the home. His clear dismissal towards Lance made you smile and it made your face warm up even more.
Your smile dropped.
What the fuck?
"Um. Thank you." You said, once you were out of earshot.
"He's an idiot." Carlos said, with a tired sigh. This made you laugh.
"You're telling me."
It was then that you realised your laugh was nervous. You cleared your throat. You were going to rip into your uncle. And then yourself for being so stupid. Because this was stupid. You barely ever noticed Carlos. What? You find out he really hates Barcelona and has really, really great hair and suddenly you're tongue-tied around him?
"Ha. Yeah. I get that. And I can hold that." You went to reach for the strap of your bag on his shoulder. Carlos moved away.
"Don't insult me." He said, tsking you with a grin on his face. "Let's go. Fred spoke all morning about your pizzas."
"Yes! I did." Fred said, reappearing with his assistant who was handing him a paper he was half reading as he spoke. "Guenther didn't let me have any last time."
You couldn't but smile, remembering Guenther's loud curses echoing throughout all of Haas when he found you plating some aside for Fred. You gave Fred a salute. "I'll get right to it. Let me just dump my things in the backroom."
"I'll take them there." Carlos said, evidently not relenting. You sighed and let him carry them for you as you both made your way to the backroom.
Unfortunately, this meant walking through the entire motorhome in which case many Ferrari staff did a double take seeing you walk with Carlos. Whilst it wasn't uncommon to see you around, nor for you to have any interactions with drivers - you literally made their food and coffee - but Carlos was holding all your many, many belongings and walking to the small backroom that were reserved for Hospitality.
"Thank you." You said, appreciating the chivalry. What you didn't appreciate, however, was how your body was reacting to Carlos.
You didn't get why you were suddenly so... hyperaware around Carlos. Seeing driver content wasn't something new to you. Why did it affect you like this? Maybe addressing it would just help.
And so your mouth just came out with it.
"My uncle likes you."
"What?"
You quickly elaborated. "He saw a video of you refusing to sign a Barca jersey."
Your uncle had even sent you said video of Carlos, the driver windswept in his Ferrari, driving off when a fan passed him a pen and the jersey. You had to admit he did look good in the video and the way he drove off like that had made your eyebrows shoot up, impressed.
"Your uncle... Don Ancelotti?"
"Yeah." You said with a laugh at the name. The Don. You were proud of your uncle and what he achieved, earning him such a nickname. Dia always said her brother's intimidating Don cigar smoking aura had been passed down to you - and not his own children/your cousins.
You weren't surprised Carlos knew about who your uncle was. It wasn't exactly a secret. And considering the world of Formula 1, that wasn't even the craziest connection for someone working in the Paddock. An Alpine techie was distant cousins with Mbappé, a Haas mechanic was close cousins with LeBron, and Valentino Rossi's babysister's best friend's brother was a PR manager for George Russell.
Also, apparently, you'd heard of a Haas employee who used to babysit Harry Styles or something. You thought the LeBron thing was cooler.
So, no. No one really paid much attention to you and your uncle. The most it had ever come up was the odd few comments of the Paddock's EPL fans coming to you lamenting Carlo Ancelotti moving from Everton to Real Madrid.
"Woah, that's pretty cool." Carlos said, his eyes widening. You knew he was an avid Real Madrid fan since last night's video had let you down something of an internet stalk.
"I definitely need to let my dad know." Carlos said.
"Apparently they know each other?" You asked, hoping he might shed more light on the connection your uncle somehow had to Sainz Sr.
"Do they? He never said." He said and you blew a raspberry. You really were going to give your uncle a piece of your mind. You shook your head and Carlos laughed, saying something that went to deaf ears as he took his sunglasses off his head - causing some strands to fall across his forehead as he was looking down at you.
Fuck.
He used the other hand to run through said black locks.
Double fuck.
The man seriously could've made it as a hair model.
You looked down from his hair to meet his eyes and felt yourself flush even more knowing he'd caught you staring at his hair. You cleared your throat again - when had it gotten so dry? - and spoke. "You um, you could really make bank doing hair endorsements, you know?"
"Bank?" Carlos asked, not picking up the slang.
"Money." You explained the slang and then thought of the Spanish translation. "El dinero."
"Ah, so was it the Don who taught you Spanish?" Carlos asked, lips turning up to grin.
"Nah I don't really speak Spanish." You shook your head and explained. "I just know that word from some from lyrics and stuff."
"Stuff? From living in Los Angeles?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. You blinked, surprised he knew that tidbit about you. "I remember you telling Max about it back in Torro Rosso."
Carlos' observational skills evidently had you in surprise. Let alone that he would remember such a minor fact like this - and about you.
"I, uh. Yeah for a year and a bit. I worked in a garage." You explained, feeling more awkward and, well, something else that you refused to acknowledge as nervousness. You didn't get nervous. You had literally served countless celebrities and prided yourself on not getting starstruck or fucking nervous.
And yet, here was Carlos running a hand through his hair catching you off guard with how hyperaware you were of him.
"Ah." Carlos laughed and you stared at the way a thin gold chain glittered around his wrist. "Well, if you know any sponsors you'd recommend, let me know."
"Oh, yeah. Done." You said, going back to the previous conversation. "But I'm expecting a cut, then." You said, opening up a locker and beginning to stuff the bags into it. "Hoy por ti - "
" - mañana por mi." Carlos finished the phrase, amused. "It's different in Spanish, though, you know?"
"What is?"
"English you say scratch my back or something. In Spanish it's more about generosity. You take care of me so I will take care of you next."
"Oh." You said, taking in the mini Spanish lesson. Admittedly all your Spanish came from working with Tyler in the garage on Fairfax Ave and, of course, song lyrics. There had been a few funny conversations with Fernando - but nothing intimate such as I will take care of you.
You didn't really know what to say next. Your face was already flushed and you'd probably be able to cook something on your cheek from how hot it was.
You were going to kill your uncle.
"Also," Carlos casually continued, unfazed - or not noticing - your lull, "there's going to be a game tomorrow night. I'm not sure if you were planning to watch it."
Thankfully, his words momentarily distracted you from the embarrassment. Real Madrid wasn't playing this weekend. Atletico Madrid was. Maybe it was Carlos being from Madrid or following the Spanish league religiously but, either way, it wasn't a game you had intended to watch.
"Oh, I mean I like Griezmann." You said, referring to the famed Atletico player, "but I don't watch La Liga games unless Real Madrid is playing." Besides, if you showed any interest in any other team, The Don would have your head. Your uncle still didn't know you owned a jersey of another team. Even if it was only for Mo Salah.
"No, the Liverpool game." Carlos corrected. "They're playing Manchester United, are they not?"
This was surprising. There had been no indication in the past of Carlos ever caring about any other team besides Real Madrid - let alone being that interested a whole other league. If you ever were going to talk EPL with a driver, it was probably a passing conversation with Lewis. Maybe George if the Wolves were involved. And that was when the drivers themselves initiated the conversation.
Max, and his love for your team's biggest rival Barcelona, was who you used to talk to about football, who you used to stay up and watch games or play Fifa with.
And since that was no more, you sort of lost any passion for it.
So this was very much news to you.
Carlos Sainz. Talking to you about EPL.
More than that - asking you if you were going to watch an EPL game.
"Uh, yeah maybe." You finally spoke. During your drive to work, you had vaguely thought about changing your schedule so as to be able to watch the game. You had played around with the idea of doing a workout after your shift tomorrow so you could stay up after qualifying and watch the match.
The only issue was that this would you mean you wouldn't be able to work out before the race on Sunday - and you were definitely going to be stressed working a whole weekend at Ferrari.
But if you watched it you could stream it on one of the TVs in the driver's gym - that way Oscar could workout with you also.
Suffice to say, you hadn't yet made up your mind.
"Lando and I were going to watch it. He's a fan of Manchester United." Carlos said, looking at you expectantly. "Don't worry, I won't tell the Don."
It was that look which made your eyes widen slightly, the thought suddenly dawning on you: was Carlos asking to watch the game together?
Something erupted in your stomach.
However, your reflex to any driver interaction had immediately kicked in.
"Oh, nice. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to watch it with the schedule. You guys enjoy, though."
Carlos opened his mouth but thankfully someone, a man dressed in the red uniform, appeared in the doorway calling for Carlos. The interruption was very much welcomed as the driver nodded and was resolved to leave you before your body gave you any more confusing signals.
You took a second, a steading second, before you slammed your locked shut and went out to look for Oscar.
-
“And there’s the young rookie, Oscar Piastri. Looking really good after his amazing win in Jeddah. 9th, outperforming everyone’s expectations!"
“Yes! He’s just arrived with his - is that his trainer?”
“She looks tough enough to be one. Wait is that — “
The commentators immediately realise and change the subject to something else to do with Fernando’s winning streak and Aston Martin’s upgrades. You sigh at the clip that had been playing on the TV in front of you. Zak had informed Oscar who had informed you about the conversations had between all the TPs about, well, you.
It was startling to say the least.
"I'm afraid people are starting to catch on." Oscar's PR Manager said with a stern look as she stared at both you and Oscar. Her name was Sophie and despite her young age putting her in the same ball-park as you and Oscar... it still felt like you both were students in trouble, being told off by your teacher.
Oscar had asked you about a Sophie Wright a few months ago. You briefly knew of the girl from her interning days, following other PR members around the McLaren motorhome over the years. She was a little on the shorter side, the chubbier side and, unfortunately, these two appearance traits meant she was excluded from the other PR girls who definitely already had a group chat going.
However, you also knew this meant she would be good at her job. Sophie could blend in the background quietly, unnoticed and do her job well. You also doubted she would easily jump around for a better opportunity and do Oscar dirty. Then there was the fact that when you served her a skinny latte one time, she made sure to read your name badge and thank you with a genuine smile.
And so you had given Oscar the thumbs up.
Never, in a million years, did you think you would be here though. Getting a debrief from her as Sophie tapped on her iPad. You risked a glance at Oscar who looked indifferent and nonplussed.
"Sorry Soph," he said, "but I'm not exactly aware what this means exactly."
There was some noise at the door and in walked Zak Brown himself. He was still talking to someone outside in the hall and said a 'yep, bye!' and then finally turned to address the room he was halfway in. "Ah, here we are. Just the people I need to see." His eyes fell on you and you shifted uncomfortably in your seat.
"No trouble at all. I know you're friends with Oscar and just wanting to help him out." Zak said, coming to sit down. "Ah, so you've seen the clips." He looked at the TV where Sophie's iPad was still screensharing the clip from yesterday.
Thursday's media days was always the least loved day for everyone - save for the bloodthirsty journalists. Drivers hated all the mundane questions and the paranoia of microphones and cameras everywhere. And you hated media day because it meant extra long barista shifts.
"Yes, Sophie showed me before but I thought Tezza should see it." Oscar explained, using your nickname. Your heart warmed at how considerate that was. You met his eyes and smiled softly at him. Your love for the kid grew daily.
"Good thinking!" Zak said, nodding agreeably to his driver. You fought to keep your face passive as you regarded the McLaren CEO.
Your opinion of Zak Brown was that he got further than he ever dreamt to get from starring on Wheel of Fortune. And whilst you did admire him for not being brought up in the snobbery and pretentiousness of the generational wealth that F1 tends to circulate through... you did note how he sucked up to the those snobs and their pretentious generational wealth.
Namely, how he did anything and everything for to make Lando Norris happy. In your opinion, it was a lil cringe at times.
"Well, the problem is that it's getting harder and harder for me to just make it out to the rest of the Paddock that you and Oscar are just friends spotting one another at the gym." Zak said. "Christian Horner is running rampant, scared you'll turn Oscar into the next Max Verstappen."
You snorted at this. Unfortunately this drew everyone's attention to you and you knew you would need to explain. "Max and Oscar are polar opposites."
Oscar could very easily become a World Champion without you. He was smart, dedicated and very talented. And whilst Max was all those things, he didn't need someone to train him up so much as tame him down after all that Jos did to him. You guys had just as much sessions on anger management as you had sessions on endurance training.
"Either way, it's coming to be viewed as a breach." Zak said. "And if you breach your contract then - "
"I know." You interrupted him. He didn't need to explain that to you.
"There's also the issue that people think you two are dating." Sophie spoke up from the front. She tapped on her iPad a few times and up came up a few screenshots of Twitter threads hypothesising about the two of you. "Your Twitter had a followed increase of 150% since Oscar followed you. Which didn't help."
"And whose fault was that?" You said, looking at Oscar with an unimpressed look. "You're lucky I deleted that shit so quickly."
"Yeah look, my bad. The timing was off." He said, accepting responsibility. You still remember all the notifications of the Twitter shit-storm Oscar set off. You literally had to delete your account because of it.
"Yes, Christian did bring that up." Zak said. "And it's a good thing Oscar's lovely Lauren is here--"
"Lily, sir." Sophie quickly corrected her boss. You wanted to groan. Oscar just looked down to hide his smile. Under the table, you kicked at his legs.
"Lily! Sorry." He gave a sheepish look to Oscar. "Yes, you and Lily this morning was a good idea."
"Unfortunately, Daniel did like a few of these Tweets." Sophie added, bringing up the screenshots of a Tweet about you and Oscar that was liked by none other than @danielricciardo.
You clenched your fist, your nails digging into your palm as you thought of how fucking petty that was. Daniel wasn't a fucking idiot. Aside from the fact that he knew your type - (admittedly, the tall/dark features combination always got you) Oscar was so young.
If anything, you thought of Oscar, genuinely, as a younger brother. As you had Max. Daniel knew that. So he knew exactly what he was doing by liking those kind of fucking Tweets. Tweets you wouldn't put past Red Bull to send out themselves.
Because, if anything, they would be praying it wouldn't be true about you and Oscar. Otherwise Christian Horner wouldn't have any leg to stand on. That was how you got around being connected to Charles, anyway. Family was the exception.
"I know your contract has you tied to only working for Red Bull and Ferrari's drivers but--"
"Red Bull and Charles Leclerc." You corrected in a tight voice, your eyes falling down to the table in front of you. "I was only granted exemption to work with Charles as he was considered family."
This caused him to frown as he pulled out his phone and began typing at it I thought you were allowed to work for Red Bull or Ferrari. No new teams."
"Yeah, no new teams outside of Red Bull and Torro Rosso. Charles was granted exemption from my Red Bull contract because he... he was considered family." You cleared your throat, not able to even look at Oscar. "I was signed for Torro Rosso. Never Ferrari."
"That's not what Toto said at the meeting." Zak said, shaking his head. "He made it seem that you could work for Ferrari." You said nothing. Toto had approached you once or twice but your none answers evidently were enough for him to realise and drop it. You didn't realise he dropped it because he had sought out the fine print.
"Wait so why aren't you Charles' trainer?" Zak asked, looking up from his phone. "He'd be insane to not have you!"
You froze. How were you supposed to answer that? For once, you had hoped the F1 rumour mill had properly run its course and Zak would know better than to ask that obvious question.
"Eh, Leclerc's loss." Oscar interjected with a casual shrug. "Let's be glad we don't need to worry about that."
The hidden meaning behind his smooth words were clear and you felt your love for the boy increase tenfold at his save.
"What - if I may," Sophie started, trying to be sensitive with her wording and her eyes darted between you and Oscar, "what were the grounds for family?"
You took a moment to think of how you might answer. You really didn't want to but if this might help the boy beside you, you would. "Charles -- I, we grew up together? I don't know. Everyone knew."
"You didn't date?" Sophie asked. Your face must've shown something very unpleasant because she was quick to amend. "I'm only saying because the grounds for family are always a grey area."
You pressed your lips together and went back to staring at the table. "There was nothing romantic between Charles and I." You said. The room fell silent for a moment as Zak tapped on his screen a few times and then he spoke up.
"You also trained Daniel. I remember he told me." Zak said and put the phone down and you wanted to roll you eyes. Of course Daniel would say that. "And I don't want to get into all the drama but you were dating him." Zak did have a point.
A key point that you had forgotten.
"I guess so." You began. "It was nothing official in print but yeah, Christian allowed me to work with Daniel since we were... well yeah." You trailed that off, awkwardly. "But yeah, it was fine even though I was contracted to Max under Torro Rosso then Red Bull."
"Hm." Zak said, bringing a hand to his chin as he leaned back, pensive, in his chair. "Well I can see how romantic grounds could be argued." He said it with a laugh, looking between you and Oscar.
You raised an eyebrow at the comment. You honestly weren't sure if this was just Zak Brown being Zak Brown - i.e saying dumb things to suck up since he was out of his element - or if he actually meant that. Either way, it pissed you off.
Because there was no fucking way you'd let that happen to Oscar.
"No it can't. Contracts aside, I'm not forcing someone I think of as my younger brother into a PR relationship with me." You said.
"It could work, though." Sophie said, taking a professional tone as you turned your glare to her. "This is what I was trying to say before. The Twitter comments about you and Oscar are not necessarily negative. If anything you've helped increased Oscar's public image and Red Bull wouldn't able to say anything about you two."
"Yeah, look guys. Tezza's pretty but not my type." Oscar finally chimed in, lighthearted. "Besides, I think we should focus more on the car and that way it's a fair advantage to both me and Lando."
You looked back at him and took a deep breath. He smiled at you, chill as always, and you took another breath. You wanted to give the boy a big hug.
"Look, Zak," you said, looking back at the TP, calming down a little more, "I'm sorry. I'm causing you all this shit."
"You got Oscar into the points." Zak waved off. "Don't worry about it. I just want to find a way that works for everyone." You sucked on your teeth. Whilst it was nice to know that Zak Brown was willing to take risks on you also wanted to know how this conversation would've gone if Oscar hadn't finished 9th in Jeddah last weekend.
Such was the way of F1.
Sophie then tapped on her iPad and the TV showed a picture taken by Ky Millman. It was of Oscar hugging you after the win in Jeddah. Some comments were displayed and you found your lips turning up as you read them. They were, as Sophie said, sort of positive.

You rolled your eyes at the last comment. Maybe it was a good thing you were off Twitter and had barely used Instagram in how long.
"It'll be hard to argue to make up that Oscar is family since you haven't known him as long as you did with Charles," Sophie spoke up, bringing your attention back to her, "but we can maybe try to build it up from a PR point a view."
"That Oscar and I are family and not dating?" You asked. Sophie nodded. You looked at Oscar, wanting his confirmation.
"Yeah, sure thing Vin Diesel." He laughed.
"Hey, hey. Fuck you." The grin on your face was contagious and he broke out laughing also. You liked this new idea and turned back to look at Sophie a lot more positively. You were glad McLaren gave Oscar the girl.
"Okay, so what do we do to show the world I've adopted Oscar?" You asked.
"I think you'll find my dad's already half adopted you." Oscar corrected. "He wants to see your Supra."
"That's perfect!" Sophie said, excited. "Maybe Oscar can post a story of the interaction sometime this weekend? Make sure Lily is there. Maybe you can play the tired third wheel of them!" Sophie looked at you as ranted off her ideas. You nodded, feeling tired of it all already.
Whilst it was nice to know there was a plan in place to help you and Oscar continue to work together, you didn't like the way Sophie said for you 'play' a role. The one, sole consolation you had going for you these past few years was the lack of needing to play any PR role. Hearing Sophie speak was giving you flashbacks to times long gone.
"Happy with that gang?" Zak said, placing his palms on the table. "We'll work on building the PR and hopefully that will get Red Bull off our back as we also improve the car!" He stood up and left, not joining Sophie and Oscar as they said goodbye to the boss.
"Wait does this mean I need to actually start using Instagram?" You asked.
"Yes." Sophie said. Then she looked up from her iPad. "Don't you? You were tagged in it?"
"Like, I have an account but I stopped using it. I'm pretty sure I deleted the app." You said, pulling out your phone to see that yes, there was no pink app downloaded. You pressed the download button, knowing what was in store for you.
"Download it. You're already at 1.2k followers." She said, bringing up your profile on the TV screen.
"The fuck? I had like two or three hundred last time I checked."
"Yes and then you started training the F2 winner who follower you after the most controversial Formula 1 Tweet that ever was Tweeted." Sophie said, eyeing Oscar with a raised eyebrow.
"I already said sorry about that."
"Do you know how stressful you made my first day?" Sophie asked, humour on her face. "Nothing like jumping in the deep end."
The app had downloaded and you logged on to be met with a plethora of notifications that suddenly had you overwhelmed. As such, you immediately went out of the app and put your phone in your pocket. You would deal with that all later.
"I'm not using Twitter again." You said, thinking back to the Tweets Daniel had liked. "Fuck that."
"Yes, only uses Tumblr or Reddit over here." Oscar said, pointing to you.
"Tumblr?" Sophie looked at you, surprised.
"Yeah? What of it?" You asked, defensive.
"Nothing. Just surprised. I would ask to follow you but Tumblr is the safe haven of anonymity. I get it." She nodded. "Alright, perfect. I'll draft up a PR plan. In the mean time, do you mind if I review your profile and send you some tips?"
"By all means." You said, half wishing you could give her control of it like Oscar and be done with it. You just wanted to be able to work with Oscar without causing him any trouble and not having to worry about this PR bullshit.
"Perfect!" She said, beaming.
Your phone buzzed. It was a text reminder about you needing to go back to check on some dough you'd prepared. Back at Ferrari. You sighed and stood up.
"Alright, sounds good. I gotta get back to work. Take your supplements and electrolytes. The green one." The last bit was aimed at Oscar as you met his eyes and then turned to leave the room and walk, head down, out of the McLaren motorhome.
You took a deep breath as soon as you made it into the open air. With how things were going, it was likely that you would be having another gym session today. You arrived at Ferrari and saw the back of Carlos' head. You felt yourself gulp and turned to hide behind the coffee machine. Maybe you would watch Liverpool play.
The mention of your connection to soccer was also pointed out in the room you had just rushed out of. Sophie made a small sound and rounded on Oscar, shoving something in his face.
"Did you know that half of Real Madrid are following her? Jude Bellingham just commented on the post!"
She stared at Oscar, hoping he might provide an answer. The young driver just shrugged. "She did say something about her uncle coaching a team." Sophie stared at him, incredulous. "How was I to know? I don't watch soccer."

Another Chance to Live Part 3 (Ana Maria Crnogorčević x Reader)
Summary: Both Ana and you spend some time at your national camps. It helps you to finally realize a few things.
Part 1, Part 2
Tumblr media
A/N: At this point I think I'm just committing to aim for an upload every Sunday. Maybe I'll manage to update sooner at some point, but usually I end up being way too busy during the week. And in case anyone is wondering, there will be three more parts after this.
I was really excited for this part, so I hope you guys will be to. And thank you to anyone who has shared their thoughts about this story, it always make my day. :)
Also, Ana at the Champions league final just broke my heart all over again!
The next morning you woke up to an empty bed, and while you missed Ana’s presence next to you, you were also glad for the moment of reflection it allowed you. Last night had blurred the lines between the Swiss woman and you, a prospect that seemed much scarier in the bright light of day.
Maybe it also felt more daunting at the moment because you were nervous about going to camp. Conditions had improved somewhat for the Spanish national team, but it still wasn’t a happy place to be. It was still an ongoing back and forth, constant fighting for every small thing to hopefully one day get to the point you all wanted to be.
So you didn’t feel prepared for a complex and emotional conversation with Ana right now. You just wanted a peaceful morning with your best friend, eating a nice breakfast, enjoying each other’s company, sharing one last hug before going to your respective national teams. After last night though, you weren’t sure if that was in the cards for you today.
Once you gathered enough courage to leave your bedroom, you were greeted by the smell of coffee and pancakes, your absolute favorite breakfast food. So at least the tasty breakfast part of your wish was being fulfilled.
Ana smiled at you gently and wished you a good morning when she saw you. You echoed her statement, readily excepting the cup of coffee she handed you. It made you happy how comfortable she felt in your apartment, almost as if she was your girlfriend making breakfast for you.
She wasn’t though! She was your amazing friend making breakfast for you, and that was nice too.
“Are you ready for national camp?” The Swiss woman asked while she plated the last of the pancakes and moved to sit at the table.
You took a sip of coffee to avoid having to answer straight away. This was a loaded question, with the potential of leading to a variety of difficult topics you didn’t have the strength to acknowledge right now.
“It’ll be nice to see everyone again,” you offered vaguely.
The blonde nodded in agreement.
“Yeah, that’s one of the best parts of national camp. I’m very excited to see Lia again.”
Ana’s eyes were shining with happiness and you could tell how much she was looking forward to seeing her Swiss friend again. It made you irrationally jealous. You had no right to feel like this, Ana was allowed to have other friends, and of course she should be happy to see them.
“Who are you most looking forward to seeing?” Ana carried on, thankfully completely oblivious to the jealousy burning inside of you.
Her question left you in a bit of a dilemma. There were some players you were always especially excited to see, but most of them were friends of Ana as well and you didn’t want to risk her telling them. Not when you were pretty sure that they would never give you as the answer to such a question.
“All of them really.”
It was more of a non-answer really, but you felt like the time you could take for answering such a simple question had ran out and it was the safest option you could think of.
“I know that they’re all excited to see you too,” the Swiss woman assured you.
You hummed in fake agreement, quickly changing the subject to Ana’s travel itinerary. It was nice of her to lie on your behalf; the blonde had probably caught on that the question had me you flustered. She was empathetic like that. Still, you didn’t want to linger longer than necessary on this.
Sadly, the morning passed way too quickly for your liking and all too soon it was time to say goodbye to Ana for now. You felt like crying, which was ridiculous, it wasn’t even two weeks before you saw her again.
The two of you hugged goodbye and you were relieved that the Swiss woman allowed the hug to last for a while, seemingly also in no hurry to walk away. However, when you finally let go of each other, it was still too soon for you.
Ana smiled at you with gentle eyes and a slightly melancholy smile. Apparently you weren’t doing a good job at hiding your unhappiness if it was so obvious to her.
“I’ll see you soon, yeah?” The Swiss woman said. “Call me or text me whenever!”
Ana waited for you to nod, then she turned around, waving as she walked away. You had to take some deep breaths to stop yourself from bursting into tears right there in your doorway. However, you didn’t have time for a crying session right now; you had to get a move on to get to the airport on time.
You were ready in the nick of time, finishing a final check when you heard a knock on the door. It was Misa who had offered to pick you up so you could drive to the airport together.
“Ready?” The goalkeeper asked after greeting you, but one look at your face made her change her course of questioning. “Why the long face?”
You shrugged your shoulders. You really didn’t want to get into that right now.
“Well you better put on a poker face before the others see you, or Jenni will tease you to no end about your crush on Ana,” Misa advised.
“What? I don’t have a crush on Ana!” You shot back. „She’s my friend.“
Misa smirked. „Yeah sure, whatever you want to believe.”
“It’s the truth though!”
Your teammate raised her hands in surrender. “Okay, okay.”
You could tell that Misa didn’t believe you at all. But you didn’t feel like arguing any more, you most likely wouldn’t convince her either way. How could you when every reasoning you could possibly give her was a lie?
Heeding Misa’s advice you made sure to erase all sadness from your face before meeting up with the rest of your national teammates. Still, it only took a few minutes after the initial greetings were over for Jenni to approach you with a sly smile on her face. You had never wished for the ground to swallow you as much as you did in that moment.
The older woman threw an arm around you, pulling you close.
“So what’s going on with you and Anamari?” She whispered into your ear. However, she did so loudly enough for everyone in your vicinity to overhear and suddenly all of the attention zoomed in on you.
You freed yourself from Jenni’s holds, crossing your arms and challenging the black haired woman with a hard gaze.
“Nothing! We’re just good friends. Can we move on now?“
“Aw look at you being all firm. Does Ana like that?” Jenni teased.
You flushed bright red, very uncomfortable with this conversation.
“Leave her alone, Jenni!” Alexia commanded and you flashed her a thankful smile.
Jenni rolled her eyes, muttering something about how everyone always ruined her fun, but thankfully she listened to her ex-girlfriend. Though, you weren’t naïve enough to assume this wouldn’t come up again during camp.
It wasn’t until much later, when you were laying in your bed that you wondered how Jenni even knew about Ana and you. Not that there was anything going on, nothing mutual at least. But still, it seemed unlikely that she had come to that conclusion by herself all the way over there in Mexico.
Had Misa or Lola, who had both picked up on your crush a while ago, even though you had never confirmed their suspicions, talked to her about it? Or did she hear it from Ana herself? That would mean that the Swiss woman either had feelings for you as well or that she had realized you were in love with her at some point.
That second option made your anxiety spike through the roof. How embarrassing if Ana really knew! You desperately wanted to go and ask Jenni about her sources right this moment, but in the end you weren’t ready to endure the subsequent teasing.
Therefore you were forced to mull it over silently, trying to find some small scrap of evidence for any of the possible scenarios. It was a fruitless endeavor with the only result that you couldn’t fall asleep until the early hours of the morning.
---
All in all the time at national camp was pleasant enough. You enjoyed being around all of your teammates, even if you had to put up with more teasing about Ana, mostly from Jenni. It wasn’t too bad though and you got better and better at just ignoring her comments.
You also took great care to suppress the goofy smile that always threatened to bubble up when you got a text from Ana. So you were doing your part to minimize the teasing you had to endure.
But then on the night before your last game the Swiss woman called you for the first time since you had parted ways, and it was at the most inconvenient time. You were hanging out with Jenni and most of the Barcelona girls when your phone started buzzing.
Your heart did a somersault when you noticed who was calling. You had wanted to call her every day, every hour really, but had refrained from doing so because you didn’t want to bother Ana. But now she was calling you!
Unfortunately Jenni was sitting right next to you, instantly seeing Ana’s name flashing on your phone. You could practically feel the glee radiating from her. However, you didn’t pay her any attention, too busy getting up and leaving the room while answering the phone. This wasn’t a conversation you wanted to have with an audience.
“Hi Ana,” you said almost at the doorway.
What you heard on the other side of the phone made you foolishly stop in your tracks. The Swiss woman was sobbing into the line and you wished with everything in you that you could crawl through the line to comfort your friend properly.
“What’s going on? Are you okay?” You asked; panic seeping into your tone.
You only realized your mistake when you heard gasps behind you and turned around. And sure enough you were met by concerned faces all around. You waved them off, not really certain what you were trying to communicate with that gesture.
To avoid any more unwanted eavesdropping, you quickly left the room, just barely hearing Irene calling after you to come tell them what was going on once you finished your call. You nodded even though you had already closed the door behind you, so there was no way they could see it.
You kept talking to Ana while rushing to the privacy of your room, telling her that everything was going to be okay, that you were here, that she should try and take some deep breaths, that you would be on the phone with her as long as she needed. You weren’t sure if the blonde even processed a word of what you were saying, but at least this way you were doing something.
You were already seated on your bed for quite a while, repeating the same things over and over again, when Ana’s sobs finally died down.
“Sorry,” was the first thing the Swiss woman said. You desperately wanted to shoot that stupid word to the moon.
“No, no, you have nothing to apologize for! I’m happy you called me. I wish I was near you, so I could give you a hug or something. Do you want me to call Lia and tell her to come give you a hug? I mean I don’t have her number, but I could probably go and ask Mario.”
On the other side of the phone Ana chuckled softly, a noise that sounded heavenly after listening to her miserable crying for so long.
“Thats sweet, but I don’t want Lia just yet. I’ll go see her afterwards, but right now I just want to talk with you a little longer if that’s okay.”
“Of course! That’s more than okay,” you quickly reassured Ana.
Did it mean something that she preferred talking with you over talking with Lia? The Arsenal player was one of her oldest and best friends, so surely Ana should prefer her comfort, unless…No, you couldn’t go there! Especially not right now, when you should be focusing on making the blonde feel better.
“Do you want to talk about it?” You inquired gently.
There was a small pause, but then the words started tumbling from Ana’s mouth.
“Being here is just so frustrating! Ever since I dared to question some of Inka’s decision during the World Cup, respectfully and with sound reasons might I add, she acts as if everything I do is a direct attack on her. Today I brought Rio some water and for some reason Inka took that as me saying she’s overworking us and doesn’t care about our health? I feel like I can’t do anything without offending her.”
“And let’s be honest I don’t really care about hurting her feelings or whatever, she’s a big girl, but then she told me today she won’t play me tomorrow because I’ve been too disrespectful. And I haven’t even done anything! How insecure does a person have to be to act like this? I just wish we could get rid of her already!”
Ana’s voice was getting louder and louder, but suddenly she went all quiet again as if that last thing was too scary to utter it too loudly.
“I’m so scared at this point that I won’t get to play at the home Euros. And that’s my biggest dream. She can’t take that away from me.”
A fresh wave of tears began leaking from the Swiss woman’s eyes, but this time she was crying silently. The only giveaways were some sniffles and the sudden quietness.
You had been listening quietly while Ana spoke, going through your own emotional roller coaster. Knowing that the blonde was in so much turmoil, hearing it from a distance, was cracking your heart one word at a time, one tear at a time.
But you were also furious and if you would have been anywhere near that horrible coach you would have punched her right in the face. Not that violence was the answer, although maybe it was when someone was making Ana feel this miserable.
Then again Inka didn’t deserve any of your time or energy; both were much better spent by focusing on your friend.
“I’m sorry things are so bad right now and I wish there was more I could do, but I’m always here if you need to rant or talk and I can’t wait to see you again and be a real shoulder to cry on. I’ll give you the biggest hug the moment I see you,” you promised.
Ana let out a watery chuckle. “I can’t wait for that. I’m debating if I should just leave tonight,” she admitted.
“I get that, but don’t do that, it’ll only give Inka more ammunition. Try holding out a little longer, I have no doubt that her days are numbered and soon enough you guys will be rid of her. She’s ruining your national team and with such a big home tournament coming up, that’s the last thing your federation will want. And let’s be honest, you have to play at the Euros, you’re one of the biggest names Switzerland has, so it’ll be stupid to leave you out.”
Suddenly you were glad that you had spent a lot of time informing yourself about the Swiss national team, which of course included all of its recent problems. You had rationalized it to yourself by claiming you did so out of professional interest, but really you had wanted to know as much about Ana as you could. And now it was definitely paying off.
“Yeah, I guess you’re right and really it’s nothing compared to what you guys went through. I shouldn’t even be complaining-,” Ana apologized frantically.
“Don’t,” you stopped her, “Don’t do that. There’s no point in comparing bad situations and putting them in any sort of hierarchy. Things suck even if something might be objectively worse and it’s okay to feel bad about it. And it’s always okay for you to tell me about things that are bothering you.”
There was a short moment of silence and of course you instantly played back your words, trying to figure out what you could have done wrong. You probably had been coming on too strong, you should add that you always wanted to know what was going on with all of your friends in order to support them.
In fact, you were already opening your mouth to say exactly that, when Ana broke the silence, “Thank you so much. I’m so grateful to have you in my life. Really.”
Naturally, you noticed that the Swiss woman didn’t clarify that she was happy you were her friend and of course it stoked some foolish hope inside of you. Lately you had been trying to decide what was better, having false hope or having no hope. You hadn’t come to a conclusion yet, so you stayed in this weird state of in between, going from absolute hopelessness to overwhelming hopefulness.
After this you didn’t talk too much longer, Ana wanted to go and fill in Lia. This time you only felt a tiny hint of jealousy at the other Swiss woman, mostly you were relieved that someone close to Ana was going to give her a hug. Even if it would have been much better if it could have been you.
There was a knock on your door about ten minutes after you had hung up. You knew instantly who it was. The only surprise was that it had taken Jenni this long to come and find you. Preparing yourself for more teasing you opened the door.
However, you weren’t met by the usual grinning Jenni with mischief shimmering in her eyes, but by a serious woman wearing a concerned expression.
She waltzed right into your room once she noticed that you were off the phone, sitting down on your bed.
“Is Anamari okay?”
You tilted your head from one side to the other. „She isn’t great, but I think talking about it helped. She went to go be with Lia now.”
Jenni nodded. “That’s good. What was it about then?”
„Issues with the national team. I don’t really know how much I can say. Ana didn’t tell me not to talk about it, but I still don’t want to betray her confidence,” you declared.
Luckily Jenni accepted this easily. “You’re a good friend, chica. But are you sure you’re really just a friend?”
You sighed; of course the black haired woman had to bring this up again. Although, maybe this was your chance to get some more information about Jenni’s knowledge of Ana’s potential feelings.
“Do you know something? I mean did Ana tell you something?” You asked instead of answering the older woman’s questions, cringing at how obvious your eagerness was.
A small smirk crept back onto Jenni’s face. “Oh, no chica, just like you can’t tell me what Ana and you talked about, I can’t talk about what Ana and I spoke about.”
You rolled your eyes, but didn’t really see much of an option to argue her point. It was fair enough, it was just also very frustrating.
Instead of continuing to tease you, Jenni’s expression quickly sobered when you stayed silent. “Look it shouldn’t matter what I possible know or don’t know about Ana’s feelings. You own feelings aren’t dependent on what she feels.“
This was shockingly wise from someone who often acted like a teenage boy. Then again it shouldn’t really be surprising to you because you were pretty familiar with this much more mature and serious side of Jenni that only her friends and family got to see.
And obviously she was right. Your feelings were there whether or not Ana returned them. However, you would never deliberately reveal them to anyone until you where 1000% sure that the Swiss woman also felt something more than friendship for you.
Jenni let you stew in silence for a while, but when it became clear that you wouldn’t say anything else, she got up with a sigh. She knew there was no point in trying any longer tonight; you needed time to figure things out by yourself.
“Call me when you decide you’re ready to face your feelings out in the open,” she instructed, pressing a kiss to the top of your head before leaving you alone with your thoughts.
---
A couple days later it was time to go back home and you were eager to do so. Still, you took the time to say a proper goodbye to everyone, especially Jenni. It would be a while before you saw her again. And even though she often annoyed you, you also appreciated her friendship.
“Remember what I said, yeah?” She reminded you once you parted ways.
You nodded, convinced that it would never come to this. You couldn’t see a future where you would open up about your feelings any time soon.
Back in Madrid you were faced with the awkwardness of having to tell Misa that you weren’t driving home with her. The moment you had figured out that Ana would arrive after you, you had decided to wait at the airport for her.
Of course you didn’t say as much to the goalkeeper, but she put two and two together easily.
“I won’t tease you right now because you’ve endured enough of that these last ten days, but girl open your eyes!” Misa exclaimed, then she gave you a hug and disappeared.
Why did no one realize that you weren’t oblivious to your own feelings? You were well aware of them, the problem were Ana’s feelings or the lack thereof.
The time waiting wasn’t spend very productive. You were too anxious to potentially miss Ana, so you just sat around staring at the sliding doors she should exit from long before there was any chance of her actually coming out.
When you read on the arrival board that her plane had landed, you suddenly worried that the Swiss woman might find this weird. You had thought it was a nice gesture and it allowed you to give the promised hug at the earliest moment possible, but it might come across as too much.
You had almost talked yourself into enough insecurity that you were going to leave, when you spotted Ana. A huge smile spread on your face and before you even fully registered that it was actually her, your mouth was already moving.
“Ana!“ You shouted.
The Swiss woman looked around, confusion clearly written on her face. However when she was you, the confusion morphed into pure joy. She rushed over to you, tackling you into a hug. It felt so nice, completely right somehow, to have the blonde in your arms again.
„What are you doing here?”  Ana asked, making no move to break the hug. And you sure as hell weren’t going to do so anytime soon.
“I wanted to give you the hug I owed you as soon as possible,” you explained, glad that Ana couldn’t see the blush on your face.
The Swiss woman tightened her hold on you.
“I’m so glad you did.”
At some point you did have to let go of each other, but before you could fully break apart, the Swiss woman caught your hand, intertwining your fingers. She looked at you searchingly; keen to make sure you were okay with this. There was little you had been more okay with in your life.
“Do you want to come over?” Ana asked hopefully when you got into her car.
“I’d love to,” you responded. “And before I assume incorrectly again, do you prefer to talk about the national camp situation or would you rather just hang out as a distraction?”
Ana smiled at this; she really appreciated your question. At least for the night she actually wanted to think about other things than the national camp, and she told you as much. Therefore the two of you spent a relaxing evening together, ordering food, watching some TV, before going to bed relatively early.
Throughout the entire evening you carefully watched Ana for any hints she might have feelings for you too. And there were some signs, the way she looked at you, how she laughed at your jokes, the way she initiated physical contact whenever possible.
If you would be watching this as a neutral spectator there would be little doubt in your mind, that all of these were subtle clues hinting at a crush. But because it concerned you, you couldn’t be so sure.
And the most confusing thing was the matter of why the Swiss woman wouldn’t just tell you if she had feelings for you. You had been so obvious that everyone else had caught on, so if the feelings were mutual surely Ana would have told you by now?
The next morning when it was time to say goodbye, you once again felt sad. Which was even more ridiculous this time around because you would see each other again the next day.
When you got back to your apartment, you picked up the phone and called Jenni before you could second guess yourself. If you began thinking about it, you would lose your ability to act.
“You were right, I like her,” you stated without even saying hello.
On the other side of the line you could hear a happy squeal, “Finally! You will be so cute together, I can already see myself getting sick when we’re all going to hang out. Maybe you could take a trip over here during winter break.”
It was reassuring that Jenni seemed so sure that this would work out between you and Ana, but you couldn’t get your own hopes up like this.
“Slow down, Jenni. Just because I like her doesn’t mean we will end up in a relationship. I’m still not sure about Ana’s feelings.“
„Oh my god, I’ve never met anyone as oblivious as you! I know for a fact that Ana has been hinting at it for ages, but now that you’ve come clean I can confirm that she also has feelings for you.”
Your heart was soaring at these words. Did they mean what you thought they meant?
“Wait, are you saying Ana told you she liked me too?” You double-checked.
Jenni chuckled. “Yeah, let me spell it out for you; my dear friend Ana Maria Crnogorčević has told me, Jennifer Hermoso Fuentes, that she likes you.”
At this point even you found it hard to hang on to any lingering doubt, but still you managed to do so because there was one last thing bothering you.
“Then why didn’t you tell me before?”
“Because Anamari asked me not to. She wasn’t totally sure if you really had feelings for her too or if you were just confused, so she didn’t want you to be influenced by her feelings. And even though I told her that was stupidest thing I’ve ever heard and that she should just let me tell you because you never believe anything until you get hit by a blinking neon sign, ultimately it wasn’t my decision.”
You couldn’t even be mad at Jenni’s comment about you needing things to be completely obvious; it was definitely true. But you also thought that no one could fault you for having a hard time believing that someone as wonderful as Ana wanted to be with someone as mundane as you.
“But I was so obvious,” you brought up one thing you couldn’t fully understand yet. How had there been any doubt in Ana’s mind?
“Chica, you kept saying things like you love her as a friend or you’re always happy to be there for your friends. Of course she had some doubts,” Jenni pointed out.
“But…But I only said that because I was so obvious otherwise and I didn’t want her to suspect anything,” you defended yourself, realizing how that sounded while you were still speaking. Suddenly it made a lot more sense why Ana hadn’t revealed her feelings to you before.
“Okay, okay, I heard it, don’t say anything, Jenni,” you quickly added, before the older woman could tease you about it.
Then something dawned on you. “Oh god, how do I ask her out though?”
Jenni snorted. “Just ask her on a date. It’s not that hard, you know she’ll say yes now. Just don’t over think it, even if that’s hard for you.”
You nodded, already over thinking it. Should you call Ana now? Should you ask her when you saw each other tomorrow? Should you text her in case she had somehow changed her mind since she last spoke to Jenni?
“I can hear you over thinking it all the way over here in Mexico!” Jenni scolded you. “Just do it. I’d love to hold your hand through it, but it’s the middle of the night here, so I need my beauty sleep. Not that I really need it, I’m pretty enough as it is, but still.”
A pang of guilt hit you. You hadn’t thought about the time difference at all.
“I’m so sorry, I woke you up, Jenni,” you apologized.
“Don’t be, this was a good reason to be woken up for. Go get your girl now,” Jenni instructed.
Despite this you apologized once again and thanked the black haired woman profusely, foolishly saying that you owed her one. Going by Jenni’s reaction you would come to regret this at some point, but that was for future you to worry about
Right now you had other things to worry about, like how to ask Ana out. Even if you had gotten confirmation that the Swiss woman liked you too, it still felt like this had to be perfect, otherwise she might suddenly have a change of heart.

Today had been sad and gloomy, the rain pouring relentlessly as the clouds had been crying since noon.
He tried to make his entrance small, creeping in like a nimble thief in the night. Slowly, he removed his sodden shoes and coat, hanging them up to dry. His umbrella he placed on the ground, even more slowly. See, it was an old one, and tended to spring up and about with sudden movement.
He stepped inside the kitchen now. There was food on the table, just as always. He uncovered the plastic wrapping and placed it in the oven, not even bothering to check what was for dinner. Hunger was gnawing at him and he would eat a human hand if you let him.
"Hello," a voice cut through.
"Oh," he turned, startled. "I'm sorry. Did I wake you?"
"I was up anyway," you replied. Your business clothes clung to you like the remnants of a very weary day. You must have returned late as well. "Let me help, Nanami."
He didn't say anything, simply stepping aside to let you tend to his plate and yours. He had assumed he'd have the whole meal for himself, a strange notion given the portion size. But given that he hadn't eaten all day, he didn't question the rationality at first. Now, it made sense — you hadn't eaten either.
He started setting up the glasses, placing two for wine and two for water, movements mechanical and jittery.
"Here," you said, appearing before him with a corkscrew in hand, as if conjured by some quiet magic.
Your hands looked tired. Lagging. Your eyes bleary. An impulse stirred within him, as though a needle had pricked at his heart, he felt the urge to swipe his hands over your eyes, to wipe away the weariness. But he withheld.
"Thank you," he murmured, taking the corkscrew and setting to work on the bottle.
Your gaze lingered for a mere second on his hands, watching the way they flexed with the way he handled the bottle. Precise. Gentle.
"How was work?" you asked, turning to the oven.
He wonders if you actually cared about what he said. “Horrible,” he answered.
"Oh," you replied. Neutral. "Okay." Neutral again. It drove him a bit insane every time. But he was a calm man.
"And your work?" he asked.
"Oh, quite lovely," you replied, a soft, dove-like smile gracing your lips. It was a smile that brought a sting of sadness to his heart, for he knew you would not elaborate. Not for him.
"That's nice," he said, his voice hollow. He poured the wine into the glasses, filling yours to three-quarters and his to a scant half.
And then the two of you sat, on opposite ends of your teak dinner table. Eating and swallowing in silence. The clanking of the forks being the only music that filled the room. He thought about getting up to play set the record, playing some of those old jazz tunes you were quite fond of. But the record was likely dusty. It was much too much work.
So he remained seated, the silence between you so vast and impenetrable, it made you conscious about how loud you were chewing your food.
"Well," you returned from the bathroom. now clad in delicate sleep shorts and a camisole, applying your usual moisturizer to your elbows. "The water's cold," you commented.
"Yeah," he responded, glancing up from his spot on the bed. "Sorry, I prefer it cold so I didn't notice. I think it's the rain."
You chuckled, a sound that seemed almost out of place. "I know you prefer it cold, Nanami. We've been married for practically a millennium, for God's sake."
An exaggeration, of course. It had been six years. You did this a lot.
He offered a faint smile in response, the corners of his mouth barely lifting. "Right," he said.
He felt the bed dip slightly under your weight as you sat. "Will you get my back?" You asked, holding out the moisturiser as you turned to present your back.
He took it, as his hands lifted your camisole, all the way up. He poured some of the white lotion onto his hand as his eyes flickered up, only momentarily, to see your reflection in the mirror. The front half of your top had risen as well, cinching up your breasts.
His eyes trained back to your back, and he began to rub the cream in. Up and down. And up and down. And up and down. When he was finished, he smoothed down your top. He rubbed his hands over your shoulders, giving a gentle squeeze to let you know he was finished.
And then the two of you slept, side by side, waiting for sleep to come find you in the dark. And just then, he doesn't know how or why this happened so don't ask him. All he knew was that somewhere in those first twenty minutes, he had gotten up, his hands reaching for the night lamp to turn it on, leaving you sat up, surprised.
"What is it?" You had asked.
"We should go on a trip," he proposed, calmly.
"A trip," you squinted, your eyes adjusting to the sudden assault of light.
"Yes, we could go to Okinawa," he suggested.
You paused for a moment. "It's storming these days. The weather will be horrible."
"You pick," he said. "Wherever you want to go. We can go."
And then, you thought about it. For a few seconds, he was almost afraid you'd call him a foolish old man and fall back onto your pillow. But instead, you smiled—an earnest smile, outside of your usual politeness. And he felt his heart beating fresh blood.
"Okay, old man," you said. "I'll think of a place."
He smiled.

silk sheets
ryomen sukuna x gn!reader
in which you end up back at a good friend’s place and realize that you need him just as much as he needs you
warning: mentions of alcohol/drinking, one mention of sleeping beauty but as a joke, sukuna may be slightly ooc, a tad suggestive
a/n: forgive the bad writing i’m thinking thoughts
dedicated to @seeingivy bc ronnie is the best writer ever <3
Tumblr media
you weren’t quite sure how you got here tonight.
instead of waking up to your normal chaotically organized nightstand, you’re met with an immaculate one with an artfully placed alarm clock instead.
you turn slightly, aware of the way that the silk sheets brush your legs as you sit upward. your head throbs for a moment as you try to recollect where you were.
one moment you were dancing the night away at this hot spot club yuuji swore was fun. you drank to your hearts content and danced til the music was injected into your veins. those vivid lights, those flashing colors — they were all a part of you.
the next moment you’re here, lying alone in a bed of rouge colored silk sheets, wondering who would’ve led you here on a night like this.
“ah, sleeping beauty’s awakened.” you hear from the doorway.
sukuna’s smile is beautiful even in the darkness.
it was almost like a beacon of sorts, the way he lit up the room as soon as he stepped in. you feel the shift in the atmosphere — as if he’s suddenly introduced some variable that the very air wasn’t able to comprehend.
you couldn’t comprehend him either. while he and your best friend shared their pink hair in common, that was the end of the similarities. you’d spent too much time with sukuna not to acknowledge his appeal.
if yuuji was the blinding light, sukuna was the soothing dark.
“sukuna,” was all you said, averting your eyes from the doorway. “nice to see you”
he chuckled lowly, walking in slow steps to where you sat on the edge of what was undoubtedly his bed. he kneeled to the floor, eyes level with your own.
“where’s this shyness coming from?” he asked, tilting your head towards him. “you weren’t so shy earlier tonight.”
you felt your face flush, though you could quite recall what led you to this position. “what did i do?”
“don’t remember?” he laughed softly. “you were all over me.” he leaned closer to you, his breaths fanning across your face. “you said you were in love with me.”
“what? i would never!” you argued, suddenly all too aware of how close he was. you tried to move, but his bare arms caged you to your seat.
“why not?” he asked, “is it so horrible to want me?”
“ you must’ve drank tonight.” you murmur. “you’re tipsy.”
he sighs, before gently looping an arm around your waist and maneuvering you to his bed. he hovered patiently on top of you before pressing his forehead against yours.
“you’re insufferable,” he breathes into your neck. “do you know how long i’ve been thinking about you?”
your face is on fire now as you grip the sheets in the hopes of grounding yourself.
sukuna and you were friends. hell—you were on your way to best friends. he understood your complexities in the way that nobody else could. if he wasn’t this attractive, you would’ve already dubbed him one of your closest.
but everything about sukuna made that impossible. from his devilish grin to his muscled physique to the way he had an underlying softness to him, sukuna was the amalgamation of everything you’d ever wanted in a man.
no wonder everyone fell in love with him.
you swore you weren’t one of them, and yet, here you were.
“we’re friends,” you gulped, meeting his eyes. “let’s not ruin it because of some….crush.”
he sighed again, meeting your eyes with an intensity you’d never seen from him. “nothing about this is a crush. i’ve dreamt and dreamt of the day that i’d have you beneath me like this, wondering if there was ever a chance you felt the same.”
you were breathless. pinned under his gaze, there was nothing you could say.
“and you,” he whispered, placing a chaste kiss on your neck. “continue to tease me.”
“what?” you practically shake. “i don’t tease.”
sukuna nibbles your neck ever so slightly, and every argument you’ve ever had flows out the window.
“everytime you look at me there’s some sort of admiration there. every time we’ve gotten takeout, you’re always first to make sure we’ve got everything to make it comfortable for a movie.”
he pulls away for a moment to look at you, really look at you, and you’re a puddle beneath him.
“i do love you.” you finally admit, beaming up at him. “i love you more than anyone sukuna.”
he hasn’t seen anyone more perfect than you.
he pulls you into his embrace, and you’re filled with the overwhelming feeling of being loved.
“tomorrow,” he mumbles into your neck, “give me permission to kiss you breathless.”

*JWCT SPOILERS* very messy first thoughts
OH BOY here we go
-ben and darius's dynamic was epic. the hug. the roadtrip scenes. "is your friend okay?" "no 😊". ben getting darius out of his isolation cabin and darius grounding him in ep2. the parallels with s3ep7. "you kiss your mother with that mouth?" i'm gonna be thinking about that scene for days. their ship is still a swim to me but please they better keep whatever the fuck they have going on in s2 because it's fucking wonderful
-i love that they took the chance to give more light to duos we didn't see much in jwcc. teamups we didn't often see like ben and sammy, THE B-DUO, and darius and sammy got very special moments here
-the amount of pictures/videos from the six years in between??? the brooklynn flashbacks??? we were so well fed
-BRAND!!!!!! i got so happy when i heard him the first episode, he's clearly been checking on his brother and i'm glad he's ok
-bowman family FEAST. brand and darius talking over the phone. the pictures on the cabin. kenji saying he calls mrs. bowman once a week and all the nice things he said about her. the whole mess between kenji and darius. "we're brothers, right?" i died dead. i love this family your honor
-sammy. she's got so much going on and we desperately need to talk about it. i'm so worried about her, she's desperately trying to avoid confronting what happened with brooklynn, with yaz and her own trauma, and then they casually dropped on us that her family isn't speaking to her and never elaborated on that?? sammy, who's love and care for her family was her biggest motivation in jwcc?? i need to know what happened because it must've been big
-mateo!! i liked him a lot, he definitely doesn't want to get into any of this mess but still dabbles around a bit to help the kids, which i respect. also i hope we get to meet his daughter hiraya, she sounds really cool
-MS MICROBANGS (or the handler, or whatever name we're calling her). what is her deal. who is she working for. she's so uncanny, literally almost robotic i need to know more about her
-brookenji over i cheered. don't take this personally i've never been a fan of this ship and a part of me knew they weren't going to last long
-the animation increased in quality so much. the scene after ben, yaz and sammy get out of the sinking van is so well done it's so pretty to look at. and the t-rex with the explosion behind her? it reminds me so much of toro in the tunnels in s1ep8, and i haven't tested this out but i feel like if you put them one next to the other the improvement would be so noticeable.
-also related to the point above: that thing when a character's eyes start filling up with tears but they don't cry just yet? 10/10. chef's fucking kiss
-sure jwct has the same tv-y7 rating as jwcc, but from minute 1 it's obvious it's not the same audience they're talking to. it's not a big change in tone, like for example adventure time/distant lands/fionna and cake, but it's there, you can tell they know it's not little kids watching anymore
-BUMPY IS HAVING A BABY BUMPY IS A MOM NOW they had me shit scared for her and then they pulled a freaking egg my heart was literally pounding. anyways i hope they get both bumpy and the egg somewhere safe and that they name the new anky "speckles" (i've gotten so attached to that name in the last 24 hours it's insane)
-YASAMMY THE QUEENS THAT YOU ARE. their relationship was stellar this season, i was scared when i saw that they were apart but their issues felt organic to their relationship and i just love how they were written in the show, they are still so in love with each other and i can't wait to see where they go next season. they're everything to me
-yeah they were apart for half the season but. benji crumbs. the egg cradle scene. kenji helping ben after he got hit with the stun gun. basically all they did was act like they knew each other but idc. we are so back.
-the brooklynn reveal was... meh?? it could've been more rewarding if they waited until s2 to reveal she's still alive, but at least i hope they take their time before reuniting her with the rest of the camp fam. also i can't believe ppl even guessed what arm she was going to lose y'all have prophetic powers or smth
-bringing daniel back to kill him the same episode was an insane move btw. i would've normally complained but it's all worth it for causing the panic attack scene in ep7. kenji's reaction felt so genuine, i'm forever in awe at how well this show writes grief and trauma
-i'm so conflicted about darius's confession. i like dinostar, but i feel like it wasn't needed for darius to be in love with brooklynn to explain the voicemails and the way he was dealing with her death. she was one of his closest friends, his grief made sense even with them being platonic. on the other hand, i love how he admitted it to kenji and the fact they didn't turn it into a huge fight between them; also, "i didn't know i could even feel that way" aroace/acespec darius truthers never lose
-maybe it's just that i need to rewatch, but i'm lost as to where they're going next season?? i know they're getting on a boat but where does that go?? what are they trying to do?? there's so much happening my head is spinning
-ben... he kind of felt like the comic relief for most of the show, the first episodes showed him as being really paranoid again and struggling with being alone, but halfway through the season they just sort of forgot about it?? idk something was off
-bring back kenji's old latin spanish va idk who this guy is but that is not kenji i can't do this. i'll survive the loss of ryan potter but i won't survive this
anyways yeah i think those are most of my uncooked thoughts, overall i really liked the season, i can't believe we got to see the kids again this is still so unreal to me

You felt bad for Kiara, knowing you probably hadn’t been the most pleasant company for the past few days.
Usually when the two of you had sleepovers it was all night gossip and games and sneaking out, but you weren’t up for any of that. Best you could offer was laying in her bed with her and watching videos on her laptop with some minor conversation.
You didn’t really have the capacity to think about anything else but your royal screw up with JJ.
She tried to get you to talk about what happened, but how could you? It didn’t take a genius to figure that something went down, but you’d rather have her think it was just an argument.
You still couldn’t believe what you’d done. You kissed JJ. You actually kissed him.
At the time it was you wanted, but then you let doubt get the best of you.
And now JJ probably hated you. Ironic how he thought it would be the other way around.
It wasn’t like you wanted to hurt him, but you had a hard time grappling with the very confusing feelings you now held for him.
It all started with that first kiss. You never would’ve known what you were missing if he hadn’t gone and done that.
“I love you, but it’s a perfectly good Saturday night and I am not spending it in my bedroom,” Kiara complained, forcing you out of your own head.
She pulled the fluffy blanket you had claimed as yours off of your body.
“What? Hey!”
You didn’t even remember her getting out of the bed. The two of you had practically been rotting beneath the covers all day.
“Up!” she demanded. You looked up and found the stubborn face of your friend looking back. “Come on.”
“Ugh, fine.” You forced yourself to sit up, swinging your legs over the edge of your bed. Kiara stood with her arms crossed while you frowned up at her. “Happy?”
“I’d be happier if you told me what happened with JJ that was bad enough to make you act like this,” she countered, raising her brows expectantly.
“I told you it was just a disagreement.”
“And I told you not to lie to me.”
You averted your gaze from hers. It wasn’t like you wanted to be dishonest with her, but it was better than the truth.
“You said you don’t wanna spend the night in your room,” you said, rising to your feet. “So… what do you want to do? You get to pick.”
“There’s a party tonight at the Boneyard,” Kiara declared. Evidently she’d already had a plan prepared. “And we’re going.”
Getting dressed with Kie actually helped to uplift your mood. You were both determined to pick out nice outfits for the other, and thankfully you’d left enough clothes at her house to have options.
You ended up in a cute crop top and some jean shorts. Dressing in the summer was always easy.
“Pope just texted me and said he, JJ, and John B are all going,” Kiara informed, reading off her phone as you made your way to her jeep. “You good with that?”
You wanted to see JJ. Even if he was pissed at you, you still missed him. You wanted a chance to talk to him, to explain what happened and admit a few things you had yet to fully accept.
“Yeah,” you replied, climbing into the passenger side. “Good with me.”
You and Kiara arrived with a wave of newcomers spilling onto the beach. The party was really getting started now.
Wandering around the beach, you kept an eye out for JJ. The sound of his voice traveling, blonde hair—something. Him being out of your sight was something of a new occurrence. After about ten minutes of trailing behind Kie as she talked to people and got a drink, you began to doubt he was even coming.
He was definitely avoiding you, and you decided you weren’t very much in a party mood after that.
You were about to ask Kie to leave until a familiar face approached.
“Long time no see,” John B teased, a smile on his face at the sight of you and Kie. “I missed you guys.”
Kie put a hand on her hip. “And here I thought you went to the dark side.”
She was referring to his boss—Kiara didn’t talk about it much, but you knew she wasn’t a fan of Ward Cameron’s daughter, Sarah. John B working for the family wasn’t her favorite thing.
“Very funny,” John B dismissed sarcastically. Thankfully Kie didn’t seem to mean it as much as she had in the beginning. John B fixed his gaze on you, and he took on a more thoughtful expression. “You got a second?”
You glanced to Kie, and she gave you a nod to say it was fine to leave her alone. You offered John B a smile. This conversation was coming too, it was just a matter of when.
“Yeah, sure.”
John B tried to find somewhere less crowded, but that wasn’t really an option unless you wanted to totally ditch and go into the woodsy area of the beach, but that seemed inconvenient. You ended up sitting next to one another on a big tree trunk that had fallen horizontally. People were milling around, but they were more distracted by the keg a few yards away. No one would be paying attention to either of you, much less eavesdropping.
“So, what’s up?” you asked when you sat down.
“We haven’t really had a chance to talk since a few nights ago,” John B started, a shyness to him that you usually didn’t hear directed at you.
You watched as he ran his hands over his knees, searching for what to add.
“I wasn’t avoiding you or anything,” you told him, trying to ease his nerves. “I’ve just been busy with Kie.”
“I know, I didn’t think you were.” John B gave you a small smile before he continued. “I don’t know how to say it right but I’m gonna try anyway,” he decided, meeting your eyes. “Your friendship means a lot to me… and so does JJ’s. And as big of a crush as I have on you, I don’t wanna risk losing either of you over it.”
“That’s mature of you,” you said, trying to not react at the mention of JJ.
“Recently I’ve been forced to think about what’s important to me, y’know?”
At the vague reference to his father, you tried to not retreat into your own mind about all the “what-if’s” in life. With everything going on you hadn’t thought about your mom’s situation in a while. In a strange way it was somewhat a relief, but you’d prefer to not have anything going wrong the way it had been.
“I think it’s for the best,” you agreed, honestly more relieved than you imagined yourself feeling. “You’re a great guy, and any girl would be lucky to have you.”
John B chuckled at the flattery before saying, “You just make sure to tell her that, alright?”
It was your turn to laugh at his teasing tone.
“You got it.” You meant what you said about him. “I’m glad we talked.” You found yourself in a better mood than you had been all day.
“We should find Kie before she thinks we’re getting into trouble,” John B commented. “And, for the record, I am too. Happy we talked.”
You gave him a smile at that. “She’ll survive,” you replied to the former statement, but looked out in front of you nonetheless, trying to spot the other girl.
You caught a glimpse of blonde hair instead.
JJ.
It was definitely him. You’d recognize him anywhere from his walk to his clothes, and you just had a feeling in your gut. It was him, but he disappeared into the crowd as soon as you saw him.
Your heart skipped in your chest. You got to your feet, everything else forgotten in that brief moment.
“You good?” John B questioned, clearly sensing your urgency.
You turned and plastered on a smile.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” you lied. “We can split up and look for Kie—divide and conquer and all that.”
“It shouldn’t be too hard… okay, then,” John B trailed off, half chuckling behind you as you took off in the direction you swore JJ went.
If it wasn’t him, you must’ve been delusional.
Your heart continued to race as you found JJ at a keg, filling up a cup. So it had been him. Nice to know you weren’t losing your mind with longing that you imagined it. You never quite pictured this for yourself when it came to JJ, but as badly as you wanted to run to him, your feet were heavy.
Now or never, right?
You managed to walk up to him before he could lift the cup to his lips (and before you could freeze back in place) and he spotted you. You couldn’t quite place the look on his face, but it was more hurt than angry.
He stayed in place when you stopped across from him, but the way he glanced away from you told you that you had to talk fast.
“I’m glad you’re here, I’ve been looking for you.”
JJ scoffed, shaking his head, drink forgotten.
“You must have me mixed up with John B,” he mocked. “Although good job, ‘cause you found him.”
“We were just talking,” you defended.
“Right, sure.”
“I’m serious, okay?” you implored while he gulped down his drink. “We’re just friends.”
“Well, good for you.” JJ dropped his cup to the ground as he began to walk away, not even giving you a chance to answer his question that followed. “Is that all?”
You watched him for a second, a frown working its way onto your lips. You saw his shoulders slouch as he stuffed his hands in his pockets.
You snapped into action and followed after him.
“No, it’s not,” you rushed out, trying to fall in line with his steps through the sand but remaining a few behind him. Finally, you reached out and grabbed his arm when you realized he wasn’t going to stop. “Can you just hear me out?”
JJ turned, looking at your hand on his arm before meeting your eyes. You missed that shade of blue. You let out a sigh when your pleading worked. You saw it on his face before he said anything.
“Fine,” he agreed, keeping his guard up. “Talk.”
You glanced around, noticing the people in the surrounding area. You swallowed.
“Can we go somewhere alone?” you asked, knowing you couldn’t say everything you wanted to with all these ears nearby.
JJ led the way into the woodsy area of the beach. Calling it the woods wasn’t really fitting because it wasn’t thick like a forest. It was clusters of palm trees and shrubbery that lined where the beach met dirt, with grass sticking out of the sand. But none of that really mattered, what was important was that it was away from all your peers crowding the shore. It took a minute of walking until you felt like you could talk freely, the only sense of the party nearby being the music faintly filling the air.
JJ stopped and you did too, standing across from him. It felt like there was so much distance between the two of you, even if it was really only a yard or two. You never realized how rarely he left your close proximity until now.
You weren’t sure where to start, so you just… started speaking and prayed the words would come.
“I don’t know what you think you saw, but John B and I really were talking about being just friends. He said my friendship—and yours—mattered too much to mess up, and I don’t even see him like that. I promise, JJ.”
JJ stayed quiet for a moment, but he looked like he believed you.
“Okay,” he said, eyes low as he nodded. “Cool.”
Irritation crept in quickly. “You can give me more than one word answers, you know. I’m trying to be serious with you.”
His eyes flicked up at the sass in your tone.
“What do you want me to say? Thank you for not dating him?” he snarked. “Because thank you, I really do appreciate it, y’know?” His voice was raising and you understood why he’d been so careful with his answers before. “You can’t be with me but hey, at least you won’t be with him!”
You clicked your tongue at his words. You really wanted to have a genuine conversation with him but JJ didn’t seem too keen on that.
“I forgot, you can’t take anything seriously,” you muttered out of annoyance, but he heard you loud and clear.
“Right, yeah, everything is a joke to me. Like when you kissed me the other night—that was so funny,” he shot back, taking a step closer. “What’s also funny is I came here ready to pour my fucking heart out like an idiot to you, and you’re already over it all.”
“What makes you think I’m over any of it?” you accused, throwing his tone right back at him. “You can’t just assume shit and then act like it’s the truth! I haven’t been able to get you out of my head, if it makes you feel any better. But hey—probably not! Because apparently you don’t believe anything I say now, even though I’m telling you that there’s nothing going on with John B and there won’t be! I kissed you, not him, remember?”
You saw JJ’s throat bob as he swallowed, and it made you realize that you had moved forward to close the gap.
“Yeah, I remember,” he finally said, voice much lower than before. “I also remember you changing your mind.”
“I didn’t change my mind,” you confessed, hugging yourself. Now was your chance to try and put words to everything. You had JJ’s attention and even if he looked like he was going to storm off any second, you knew he wouldn’t. You took a breath. “When you kissed me I—I had no idea what to do or think. I didn’t know you felt that way about me and it kinda… I don’t know. But then I couldn’t stop thinking about it and it made me realize that everything we are to each other has never been what it was supposed to be. I didn’t know how to accept that, I guess, and so I did push you away, and I’m sorry. But then at the movie when it was just us I let myself slip up for a minute and I know I hurt you, and I’m sorry for that too.” You took a shaky breath. “And now here we are and I don’t really know where to go from here—I know that’s not fair but I’ve never felt like this before and I don’t know what to do.”
JJ’s eyes had stayed on your face through the entire admission, even when you couldn’t meet his gaze. When you finished, you swallowed back tears. You couldn’t quite read the look on his face. You weren’t sure what he was going to say, or what you wanted him to say.
“If I kiss you again are you going to push me away?” he finally asked, a sense of desperation in his voice.
Words almost failed you, but you managed to get out a small, “No.”
That was all it took, and then JJ’s lips were crashing against yours.
Your head spun as you kissed back, not denying yourself what you knew you wanted. Ever since the first kiss, you’d wanted more. You could admit that now.
Your hands fisted in the fabric of JJ’s shirt and pulled him impossibly close. He fell into you eagerly, hands gripping your waist.
His kiss was feverish, hungry to taste you after being denied for so long. You tried not to let your mind drift and instead focused on the now. Everything else could wait, but right now you and JJ had the world to yourselves.
That thought really won when your fingers drifted to the hem of his shirt.
“Is this okay?” you asked softly.
If the heat between the two of you wasn’t so intense, you might’ve laughed at the look on JJ’s face. You might as well have told him he won a million dollars.
“Yeah,” he rushed out. A smile tugged at the corner of his lip. “Definitely okay.”
With that he leaned back in, lips on yours once more. You let him control the kiss while you focused on removing his shirt. As you pulled it from his body, JJ had to part again. In that instant, you admired him in a way you hadn’t before. Heat rushed through you as he returned to devouring your lips.
JJ’s hands wandered to your shirt, and with a hum against his lips and a nod, you let him pull it from you. Once he started, he couldn’t stop. Neither could you.
In a mess of hands and fabric, you ended up on the ground, naked in JJ’s lap, his knees digging into the sand as he stared up at you. Your body was a temple and he was here to worship.
Curious hands ran across your exposed form and ocean eyes drank you in. You’d never seen such a look of awe on JJ’s face before and you were thrilled by the idea.
“You’re perfect, you know that?” he said, sounding about a second away from losing it. “I mean it.”
Your heart fluttered. Words failed you. You managed a light nod, which caused a smile to spread across his face.
“I love that you think that,” you managed, taking a deep breath. You found his smile, his eyes, his hands on your body—all of it felt right. “I love you, JJ.”
A look crossed JJ’s face. You’d never seen it before. It was more than awe, it was more than disbelief. Adoration. He adored you.
“I love you too,” he said. He didn’t know whether to laugh or cry with relief. “You—you’re everything to me.” He swallowed. “I never thought I’d get to say that.”
“You can,” you said, voice softer than you’d planned. You lifted your hips. “As much as you want…”
One of JJ’s hands held your hips tight while the other lined himself up. Hungry eyes couldn’t decide between watching your face or watching where your bodies were about to meet as you lowered yourself down into his lap.
The head of his cock pushed through your entrance, drawing a small gasp from you and a groan from JJ. Impatience almost won, but you had to move yourself slowly to be able to take him. Finally, your ass met his thighs and you dropped your head to his shoulder. Your breaths were shaky as you adjusted to the stretch of him fully inside you.
JJ’s hard cock twitched, his hands grabbing at your waist, your hips, your thighs—anything he could get his hands on to try and hold on and pull you close. You wrapped your arms around his neck to hold yourself in place. You took a moment to adjust, but the moment you did, you let him know.
“You can move,” you said softly into his ear.
You felt JJ’s entire body shiver at your words. You nearly smirked. His fingers pressed into your skin and he tried to control himself.
“You have no idea how long I’ve wanted you to want me,” JJ said, a thickness to his voice that you found incredibly hot.
You leaned back to meet his lustful gaze. You couldn’t resist teasing him given your position.
“I have a feeling I do.”
You raised yourself up a little and dropped back down, drawing a desperate sound from the blonde as you taunted him.
His tongue ran across his bottom lip, it was damn near mesmerizing. You ran out of time to look because his lips were surging toward yours, but you weren’t complaining.
JJ chuckled at the gasp you let out against his mouth when he forced you onto your back. You welcomed his weight on top of you, your hands running down his muscular chest, taking in every inch of skin you somehow resisted the urge to touch—truly touch—before.
He drew back his hips, leaving only the head inside, then slammed back forward. A moan escaped your lips, and that only spurred JJ on. He repeated the movements again and again. Slow at first, really letting you feel the drag of his thick cock inside of you. The pleasure was so agonizing, but you let him get his fill of teasing you back.
Sooner than later did his desire get the best of him, and you weren’t complaining when JJ picked up the pace. Your hands found his back, nails digging in just enough to make him stifle a moan. His lips found your neck, pressing open mouthed kisses to your damp skin. You felt his teeth begin to press in more than once, but he resisted the urge to leave behind evidence.
A curious hand wandered up to JJ’s hair, your finger carding through the soft locks. At a sharp thrust, you gripped, and his hips stuttered.
JJ’s hips snapped repeatedly against yours, flooding your entire being with a pleasure you’d never experienced before. The feel of his cock moving inside of you stirred a need inside of you that you didn’t even know you had.
You were meant for each other, it was clear to you now.
JJ kept thrusting his hips, his lips returning back to yours, devouring you in a hungry kiss. He swallowed down your moans, never letting his lips part from yours for longer than a second as his hips curved into yours.
You were being pushed towards your edge fast. It was as if JJ already knew your body.
“I’m close,” you managed between kisses.
JJ groaned out something you didn’t understand, but you knew he heard you. A skilled hand snaked its way between your bodies to find your clit. Your thighs clenched around his waist as a gasp leapt from you.
Your whole body felt overheated, like you’d melt from the inside out. JJ’s cock moving inside of you paired with the weight of his body on top of yours and the needy way his lips sought after yours between breathless sounds worked together to draw you closer and closer to release. All of your senses were flooded by him and you wouldn’t have had it any other way.
JJ wasn’t any better off than you, you could tell with the way his hips slammed into yours and his ragged breathing that he was close.
“JJ…” you moaned out his name as the knot in your belly finally snapped. “Fuck!” you cursed in a whimper as your body tightened around him, not wanting to let him go as you rode out your orgasm.
His lips parted from yours so he could watch your face. Your eyes squeezed shut and your jaw dropped as you shook. You could feel his eyes never leaving your expression even as you were blinded to it.
Thrusts became rougher, more desperate as he chased his edge. The sound of skin against skin synced up with your heart pounding in your own ears. JJ was saying something but you couldn’t hear. Your nails dug into his back as he finally shoved his hips against yours and let go.
A shiver of pleasure ran down your spine as warmth flooded your insides. You held onto him tight as he jerked inside you, giving you everything he had.
You opened your eyes and the sight of pure ecstasy on his face made your body quiver. A moan tore from deep in his throat as he reacted. You licked your lips before pulling him down into a kiss. It was sloppy and tired and the best kiss you’d ever had.
After a long moment, JJ forced himself to part from you. He smiled to himself as he made some joke about not wanting to smother you, but you wouldn’t have minded. He grinned even wider when you said that.
In the aftermath, you forgot where you were. As you sat up, evidence of what had just transpired dripping between your thighs, you looked to JJ. Beside you he mirrored your position, sitting up, facing you. He looked just as wrecked as you were sure you looked, but it was beautiful.
All you could do was smile. So this is what being in love with JJ felt like. You could get used to it.

It was the first real day out on the lake for the summer with all the boys and a few of the girlfriends including y/n. The sun was high and so was the energy so much so that she had forgotten to re-apply sunscreen leaving her as red as a tomato after her post-lake shower.
Getting sunburnt was never really a problem for her because of her skin type her mother was Caucasian and her father was Micronesian so she was fairly tan most of the year and would turn 3 shades darker in the summer; so sunscreen was never her main priority when having fun on the boat even though she would usually tell her boyfriend to re-apply every chance she got. Today it had just slipped her mind.
And she was left to deal with the consequences looking in the mirror and frowning at what she saw; making quick work to get the aloe vera and applying head to toe or at least what she could reach.
“ LUKE” she yelled out to her boyfriend sitting on the bed “Can you help me real quick?” Luke walked in and before he could agree “What the fuck baby that is bad.” he said looking at her back “I know I need help” she wines “Can you put some of this on my back please” handing him the bottle of aloe.
“This is why you need to put on sunscreen my love this is going to take like a week to heal,” he said in a voice of pity and y/n just frowned at him in the mirror. After thoroughly applying letting it dry and then applying it again.
“There is no way I am going to be able to wear a bra” she said as she pulled a shirt over her head trying to be as careful as possible. “ maybe it's not so bad you got burnt after all,” Luke said with a smirk causing y/n to hit him with her towel “ that is not nice Luke,” she said with a pout “I'm sorry baby I was joking,” he said pulling her to his chest “ we need to get some food in you and some water you will feel better then hmm?” she shook her head yes but didn't pull away just yet.
Down in the kitchen, Luke started preparing a plate for her full of the chicken Jack had just grilled on the new grill he got for his birthday now that he had learned how to cook and all the other sides. Before setting it down in front of y/n “thank you lukey you are very sweet” Leaning up for a kiss he gladly reciprocated “You are very welcome baby”
It wasn't until the next morning that the whole no-bra thing started messing with his head. Y/n was feeling much better and was in the bathroom brushing her teeth when Luke walked in greeting her with a lopsided smile “Good morning baby” “Good morning handsome” she said before rinsing her mouth.
Luke was about to grab his toothbrush before something In the mirror caught his attention; his girlfriend's perfect boobs staring right at him as she started her skincare. Good God that was a direction he thought before continuing his morning routine.
Not even 30 minutes later did it happen again this time in the middle of the conversation he was having with her about breakfast “Lu are you listening” she asked “I-um yeah I'm listening” That was a lie.
And again about an hour later when they had made their way out to the hammock they sat in every day at least once. When she had laid down on his chest and he could feel her boob press to his chest in a way they couldn't when she had a bra on; causing a groan to slip out of his throat.
“Sorry Lu I didn't mean to hurt you” y/n said trying to sit up but before she could Luke pulled her down to where she was “It's not that it's these,” he said slipping a hand up into her shirt, and giving her a hard squeeze “ oh” she moans slightly “ my boobs are the problem?” “ they might be if we don't do something about it right now,” he said voice low even though they were the only ones outside “Well we aren't doing anything about it out here that is for sure.”
And I will leave the rest for y'all to imagine <3

Sparks and Shadows
Summary: Eris is surprised when Azriel comes looking for him at the Forest House (one-shot).
Note: Thank you to @ninthcircleofprythian @cauldronblssd and @teddyhoneybear for just being really nice :) Thank you to everyone who reads <3
“Don’t move.”
Eris listened to the command, but he knew it would take very little effort to simply set the Night Court’s best spy alight. Half a thought, and Azriel, along with his strange shadows, would be nothing but ash.
Their centuries-long dance of sorts, and Azriel would be acting as the lead tonight, Eris thought.
The torches in the room flared in warning as Eris leaned into Azriel’s touch in a silent challenge, one that the shadowsinger seemed prepared to accept.
Azriel kept a gloved hand tightly against Eris’s mouth, pressed the sharp point of truth-teller between his shoulder blades. Eris felt as the edge cut through his thin white shirt, he had been ready for bed, had not been dressed for such a guest.
Lips just touching the arch of Eris’s ear, Azriel murmured, “I’m going to move my hand.” Eris felt as truth-teller cut his skin, as the smallest drop of blood made a trailing path down his back. Azriel continued, “I don't want to hear a sound.”
Eris rolled his eyes, even though he knew the other male was unable to see the gesture. He grunted in response, and the hand fell from his mouth, instead wrapping around his throat.
Eris wondered if Azriel was doing that just to irritate him, as a reminder of the last time the other male had found himself in the Forest House, when their positions had been… switched.
Eris arched his neck, lifted a brow. “To what do I owe this visit?”
Azriel’s hand tightened uncomfortably around the Autumn heir’s neck. “I thought I told you to keep quiet.”
“That’s no fun,” Eris’s voice was strained, his breaths smaller. The fireplace on the room’s other side dimmed in response. Eris did not truly believe Azriel had come to kill him, he had had plenty of chances over the years and had never taken any of the countless opportunities to do so.
Azriel’s tone suggested he was serious, perhaps even desperate, unbelievably easy to read. “Nod if you know anything about the human queens.”
Eris tilted his chin, and Azriel said nothing for a long moment before loosening his hold.
“Then you’re still of use to me,” Azriel spat, shoving Eris away and stepping back to put some distance between them, truth-teller now in its sheath. “Tell me what you know,” he ordered, hazel eyes dark.
Eris rubbed at the sore skin of his neck and shrugged, looking at Azriel over his shoulder, lips tilted up in a mocking smile. “Why would I do such a thing?” He walked towards his dresser, grabbing an already opened bottle of cognac and filling the glass he had left there.
“Don’t play games, Rhysand is asking.” Eris scowled as he remembered the Night Court’s promise to support his bid for the throne. He offered the glass to Azriel who simply scrunched his nose in distaste.
“Be specific about the things you want, shadowsinger, I won’t be revealing all my secrets.” In a swift motion, Eris drank all the contents in the glass, setting it aside and relishing in the way it burned.
Some of the liquid had dripped down the corner of his mouth, and Eris flicked his tongue out slowly, letting it linger. Azriel tracked the movement with his eyes, wings flaring almost involuntarily. Eris had to fight to hold back a grin.
Azriel’s hands clenched into fists at his side,“I’ve heard whispers that your father has allied with a few of the queens.”
Eris watched as some of Azriel’s shadows danced around him, he leaned against his dresser, strong arms holding his weight and long legs stretched out, comfortable. “You’ve heard correctly.”
“Why?” Azriel asked through his teeth, clearly annoyed. The blue siphons he had in his leathers brightened for a moment.
Eris hummed elegantly in response, tracing the carved wood of his dresser with a finger. “When I find out, I’ll tell you.” Beron told him very few of his plans, especially as of late, but Eris always learned of what was happening within his own court.
Azriel took a few large steps towards him, wings wide to make himself seem larger. Eris looked up at him, but made sure his chin was tilted arrogantly, enough so to get on the other male’s nerves.
“Don’t lie, Eris.” His words were accusatory, perhaps even a bit disapproving.
Eris merely scoffed, “Don’t tell me what to do, shadowsinger.” Even though he had been telling the truth, Eris rather enjoyed being contrary.
Azriel sighed, ran a hand through his hair. “Meet with Rhysand and Feyre the next time you find yourself in the Hewn City.” Shadows began to whirl around him, his feet completely enveloped in inky darkness.
“Going so soon?” Eris drawled, toying with the laces of his shirt. “No kiss goodbye this time?” Eris was mocking, he had spent enough time around males like Azriel, too wrapped up in their own thoughts, confused about what they wanted.
Eris had been surprised the last time Azriel had come to his chambers, had kissed him after questioning him about the High Lord’s plans. Eris had been even more surprised at how easily he had been able to get the other male into his bed, at the desperate sounds that had fallen from the shadowsinger’s lips as he had let Eris do as he pleased.
All of the control had been in Eris’s hands, just as he enjoyed it.
Azriel seemed to have other plans this time, giving Eris no warning as he grabbed Eris by the back of his head, roughly pulling him so that their lips could meet.
Frantic, desperate, Eris gasped in disbelief and Azriel took the opportunity to lick at the seam of his lips, to stroke at his tongue with his own. The back of Eris’s thighs pressed into the dresser behind him, his arm came up to wrap around Azriel’s neck, fingers carding through the dark locks of his hair. When Eris pulled at the short strands, Azriel moaned against his mouth in approval.
Azriel’s wings came up around them, cutting them off from the rest of the world as their kiss deepened.
Eris felt as the shadowsinger’s hand tugged at his shirt, grabbed at the fabric clumsily. Pulling Azriel’s bottom lip between his teeth, Eris bit hard enough that he felt the skin split, tasted copper on his tongue.
Azriel flinched back, almost as though he had remembered where he was and who was with him. Wings snapping back quickly, he took a few quick steps away from the heir of the Autumn Court. He brought a hand up to wipe at the trickle of blood that dripped down his chin, raising his brows in shock.
Eris grinned as he watched Azriel, his voice thick with desire as he spoke. “We can continue this another night,” he said, waving a hand lazily. “I didn’t put on my silk sleeping clothes for you.” Azriel blushed, the tips of his rounded ears turning a dark shade of scarlet, but Eris continued. “I’ve promised my time to another, and I don’t know how she feels about sharing.”
Azriel simply cleared his throat, nodding in response. Eris found his embarrassment endearing. Amber eyes tracked the shadowsinger as he took a few more steps back.
“Good night, Azriel,” Eris added embers falling from the tips of his fingers as he waved a hand. In truth, he had not been expecting the Night Court spy to respond, he hardly ever did, letting shadows completely envelop him before he winnowed away.
As Azriel left the Forest House again without a word, Eris scowled at the disappointment that bloomed in his chest.

Seeing Your Dragon Form: Vice's+Ruggie and Floyd
Trey
Trey was a lot more chill about this than you were expecting him to be.
He agreed to come with you with no problem, and when you came out of the mist and he saw you, he looked like this was all normal.
He quickly approached you and stretched his arms towards you. You brought yourself closer to the ground to make it easier for him to reach your head.
Gently, Trey pet your head. Running his hands across you snout and up to your horns.
He always made sure to keep eye contact with you if you were looking at him. Your e/c eyes and his golden colored eyes locked together.
He constantly made small talk with you, asking simple yes or no questions or simply telling you about something random.
Unbeknownst to you, on the inside, Trey was freaking out!
You reminded him a puppy! (Quite a deal larger than an actual puppy, but his view is still valid.)
He's used to keeping some form of a rational, adult face all the time. You, Riddle and Chenya are really the only ones who have seen the childish side that he has.
Because of this, he didn't want to just full on fawn and freak out on you. He also didn't want to risk overwhelming you.
He opted to waiting for you to be human again, where you could speak, to ask any questions he had.
Later that day, when you had turned back into your fae form, he asked. Surprisingly, he had a lot of questions.
"I'm proud of you, Y/N. I'll let you do what you want for right now, but when we get back to the dorm, prepare for questions, alright?"
Ruggie
He was very skeptical when you asked if he wanted to see your dragon form.
He immediately thought that you wanted something out of this (like to eat him).
With plenty of skepticism, he followed you out to your spot in the woods and waited patiently for you to come out of the mist.
Seeing you had him stunned for a solid 2 minutes.
Now, you and Ruggie have been friends for a long time now, and he knows that it's you, but he had a rough childhood.
You were about 4x his size, serrated claws, razor sharp teeth and covered in spikes. Everything about you screamed DANGEROUS.
It was like staring down everything that he taught himself to stay away from.
Then you did something he wasn't expecting.
You sat quietly and gently tilted your head to the side. Your e/c eyes gazed into his with a look he feels is familiar to him.
Then he remembered. Once, when one of his younger brothers had gotten into a fight, he came home looking roughed up and dangerous. But the moment Ruggie came to patch him up and they met eyes, his brother gave him a look that extremely contrasted that roughed up state he was in. His brother was soft and on the verge of crying.
Looking at you, it was the same thing. Ruggie got the same feeling he did back then. You looked scary and dangerous, but he knew that you were still the same softy that he sees everyday.
Finally, he got over his initial feelings and strutted towards you. He ended up right under your head, forcing you to look down at a weird angle to see him. You adjusted yourself and brought your head to his level.
Just as Ruggie had done with his brother, he patted you on the head. It instilled a feeling of contentment in you and your eyes slowly fluttered shut. Soon, a gently hum ran through your throat and hit Ruggie with the vibrations since he was still patting you.
"Wow, that worked a lot better than I thought it would. Y'know, all this nice treatment from me will cost ya, Y/N~"
Jade
You had his curiosity extremely peaked.
He must admit, upon meeting you and learning you were a fae, he thought about what you may look like as a dragon whenever he was with you.
He never said anything, out of courtesy and politeness. But now that you were offering him the chance, he took it with no hesitation and never held his tongue about anything.
You had asked him during on of the very few times Floyd wasn't with him, meaning at was just you two. (You still can't tell if that made things better or worse)
Jade was unaffected by the mist, and the extra amount of cold you radiated.
The first thing he did? Go to your tail. Him being an eel, he has one himself. For some reason, he wanted to find out how different yours was from his. He's never been able to get good looks at the tails of the beastmen at school, so you were his best example.
He poked and prodded at the spike that ran down it. Not that you minded, there was no feeling there and if they were to break, they'd grow back quickly. There was only feeling in your spikes when in fae form.
Soon, he had gathered all the information he needed for the time being. He then sat by your snout, which had been on the ground as you had laid down.
He held a pleasant conversation with you. You couldn't respond, but he didn't care. He spoke of things that really didn't need you input but still kept you entertained, which was his goal.
At times, he unconsciously start petting and stroking you. Running a hand across your hand(?) and claw, soft head pats, gentle rubs behind your ears, things like that. You decided to take a nap due the peaceful sounds of the woods and Jade's calming voice.
"You never cease to stretch my thoughts of you. When I think I have you figured out, you surprise me." He can only hope you can't hear him right now.
Floyd
Unlike with the others, it wasn't you who suggested him seeing your dragon form, it was Floyd.
He had been insistently pestering you about it for weeks now. Both Azul and Jade have tried to get him off your back but he just pops back up and asks again.
Eventually, you gave in.
Upon the disappearance of the mist, he was already on top of you.
Without notice, he poked at your sides, claws and wings. You barely even had enough time to figure out what he was doing before he moved on to investigate somewhere else. He stayed away from your tail though.
You even allowed him to climb onto your back for a while. He didn't stay long though, he found the scales to be too uncomfortable to stay there much longer.
Eventually, he opted to spend some time near your head, so he could spend the rest of the time with you.
For a while, he was surprisingly chill with you, but then mood swings decided to pay a visit.
He got frustrated that you couldn't talk back, or more so at the fact he couldn't understand you. He just really wanted to know what you were saying to him.
You thought of just not saying anything to not further escalate things, but then realized he be even more upset if he felt you were ignoring him.
You've been friends with Floyd for a long time now, and you've gotten pretty good at handling his mood swings. The moment you felt he was getting too frustrated, you took action.
You brought your tail towards him and pushed him over. He fixed himself and caught sight of your face. You may be a dragon right now, but he could tell that you were smiling at him and laughing in your head. He saw what game you were trying to play easily.
You two playfully wrestled with each other for a long time. He would climb around and you'd gently knock him over. Things like that.
"Umitsubame-kun! I knew it be a good idea to do this. We could've been having this much fun sooner if you had just listened to me when I first asked~"
Jamil
Jamil was a lot calmer than his Scarabian counterpart.
He will admit though, he's been curious about what you may look like. Just like Kalim, he doesn't have much experience with dragons, real or fake.
The mist was freezing to him, though, considering where he grew up, that's no surprise.
He didn't quite know how to respond.
You looked awesome! But he didn't know what to do from there. You two just kinda stared at each other for a while, neither moving.
Then you took the lead.
You walked up to him (it only took you like three steps) and raised your hand(?) into the air.
He flinched, thinking you were gonna crush him, but then froze when he felt himself rise into the air.
When he opened his eyes he saw that you had picked him up and held him in your palm.
Luckily he's spent enough time on the flying carpet to not be afraid of heights.
You brought him close to your snout and in a moment of no better ideas, he gently placed a hand on the tip of your nose.
Your scales were freezing cold, and while he expected the air you exhaled to be warm, it was just as cold as your scales, if not colder.
Now he was a lot more comfortable with the situation, meaning he started doing more.
He asked questions, then realized that you couldn't speak. He then decided to change his method and asked yes or no questions. They started as one about your dragon form, then the conversation drifted off into other subjects. School. Food. Dorm life. Other students at school.
He asked if changing forms was tiring to you, in which you gave him a side ways nod. 'Sorta' is what you were telling him.
"How about when we're done here, we go back to Scarabia and I'll make you something to eat and get your energy back up? Take is as a 'thank you' for this experience."
Rook
Actually, this isn't his first time seeing your dragon form.
Since the first day he saw you, you've captured his attention, and triggered his hunting habits.
One day when you were taking a break from NRC life, you snuck away and spent some time as a dragon. Unbeknownst to you, he had been watching you the whole time.
But then you actually asked him if he wanted to see. He told you 'yes' with a strange and knowing excitement.
He was on top of you even before the mist cleared since his sight was enough for him.
This is the first time he's been this close to a creature so much bigger than him.
Throughout the entire experience he was showering you in compliment after compliment. Words of encouragement filled with passion, charisma and said quite fervently.
You wholeheartedly believed that even if he wanted to, Rook would not have been able to take his hands off you. His hands touched where ever they could, your spikes, wings, horns, snout, claws, tail, you name it.
You understood though. You've always known how curious Rook is. How, while it seemed strange and creepy to others, his habits and mannerisms never really bothered you.
Out of no where, he confessed to following you all that time ago.
He could see as emotions flicked across your draconic face for a few seconds. Confusion. Realization. Upset. Thoughtfulness. Then it stilled into one. Amusement.
Your chest rose and fell fast. You were laughing. Rook couldn't help but laugh himself, lowkey glad you weren't upset with him.
"Oh dear Dragon de Glace, your beauty is truly magnifique! I hope you and I will continue to have many moments like these in the future!"
Lilia
He happily took you on you offer.
He's known the Draconia family for years, so you having a dragon form is nothing new to him. Heck, he was there the first time Malleus used his.
Out of everyone, who saw you as intimidating or astounding, he saw you as cute.
Lilia will admit with no remorse, he has a soft spot for dragons. With his experience in helping to raise Malleus, he can't help it.
When you opened your eyes after transforming, you were met with Lilia's large, red, slit-pupil eyes in you face, upside down.
He flipped out and rested his arms in your snout, using them to support his chin.
He then struck up a conversation. He could understand every word you said to him. (Learned with Malleus.)
It was an extremely lovely conversation. But, you did get embarrassed when he would speak to you as if you were a child.
You'll have to excuse him. It's an old and sometimes an unconscious habit he picked up due to Malleus and mostly Silver.
For some reason, he really likes booping your nose. Mid conversation he'll just boop you for no apparent reason. He then proceeds to giggle to himself at your reactions.
Eventually, you got a bit tired. Your body relaxed while listening to Lilia and your eyes fluttered close.
Seeing that you had drifted off to sleep, Lilia got closer and gently moved your head into his lap. It was ridiculous with how much bigger your head was compared to him, but cute non the less.
He gently stoked your snout, making sure you stayed asleep. As you snored away, he remembered when he would do this with Malleus and even Silver when they were babies. It made him smile, a smile you unfortunately couldn't see.
"Just stay asleep Little One. I'll be here when you wake up, and we can continue to have some fun."

Chapter 3.
Days had past since she saw him last. The bastard he took it upon himself to take what was hers. She despised him. She was losing her mind in that room with four stone walls and the tiniest window to see the ocean waiting for her. At night when the moon was high she could hear her sisters calling to her; crying out for her. Every night she cried out for them. Her heart pulling in anguish with each day that past where she didn’t feel the water on her skin to roam the vast sea and discover things that humans left behind. She was becoming depressed. Her eyes sunken in from her sleepless nights. Her skin pale almost green she hadn’t eaten since she had been there refusing to nourish herself. He was not going to enjoy his hostage if she had anything to say about it.
Lydia had come back each day to deliver her meals and to make her presentable for the day only dressing her in light weight dresses and brushing her hair just to tame it slightly but still let it run thick along her back. She smiled knowing that Aemond had what he called a gift in store for her. Lydia had discussed it with her master for quite sometime after letting him know how horrible she was doing stuck in that room. So he figured he should let her get some fresh air. With the moon high and shining against the calmed sea Aemond came into her chambers wearing a loose poet blouse that opened slightly at his chest. She looked terrible and he would be lying if he said the sight he saw didn’t pull at his heart strings, but his obsession with her clouded his judgement. She heard the clicking of his boots hitting the hardwood floors and she flinched wondering what he had in store for her. Lydia had tried to manage her hair and make look somewhat presentable but she could not hide the clear depression that settled into the poor girls bones. He sighed thinking of what to say, “Lydia let me know of the state you were in and after all her convincing I thought it would be nice to take a walk on the beach for a little while.” Hearing the words beach…a walk…she perked up knowing her sisters were always waiting for her maybe this could be her chance…she calmed down and decided to play her part. She put on an adoring smile and spoke gently. “I would like that very much..”, it hadn’t been long but it didn’t take her long to fully understand their language after only a few days. He smiled at how that seemed to cheer her spirits but he knew that would be short lived as he began to pull the shackles from behind his back. He could see the light that just appeared in her eyes quickly fade away and the smile she wore did as well. “oh…” was all she said. “I know it seems barbaric, but I cannot have you trying to leave me…now can I my sweet little siren?” He reached out for her his rough hand claiming her cheek and she flinched away feeling its warmth. She wanted to hiss and claim one of those fingers. She could imagine his blood curdling screams…but she understood this would not help her. She simply held her hand out for him and he took no time tether himself to her.
After leaving her chambers they traveled down to the shore she could smell the sea and the smell of salt in the air. She felt at peace only to be pulled from when he yanked at the chain that bounded her to him. She felt the cool sand between her toes and though she was happy to even be this close her heart still yearned to return home. Aemond stood in silence enamored by her beauty and the way she looked as she stood in silence taking in the scenery. “breathtaking…” he whispered to himself, but he was broken from his trance as the sound of siren singing in the distance caught his attention. He looked to her and saw the look of longing in her eyes…her foot subconsciously took a step forward and he braced himself. Tears welling in her eyes as she called back out to them. The beckoned her and cried out for her in sadness and she looked back at him her eyes blown wide in desperation. She let out a mind curdling screech and pulled away from him with all her might and though she was weak she was stronger than he anticipated. “NO!!!” He screamed out to her pulling back, but she continued forward dragging him with her. “If you won’t let me go I will take you with me…” she grunted lowly as her sisters frenzied within the water waiting for her to come back and waiting to kill the man who took her away from them. Aemond called for help which alerted a few of his men nearby and she was on a mere inch away she began to run pulling the chain to drag him with her frantically looking around to see them closing in. She fell to her knees once she was surrounded and sobbed. “I just want to be free….” Were her last words before she felt a sharp pain in her head and everything went black.
When she came to she saw Aemond hovering over her with a look of distain in his eyes. “I will admit I underestimated you…that won’t happen again I assure you…how could you want to leave me after that special night we shared…I know you feel it too…I saw it in your eyes…I saw it…” she hissed at him and screamed in frustration. “Special? You mean the night you took me without my consent or the night you took me from the sea….both were not special…you are a mad man. I want to go home can’t you see this is killing me…I will die in here…please.” She sat up and reached for him, her eyes pleading for freedom…and he couldn’t help but feel she was right but this obsession with her would not let him do it. “I can’t…you belong with me…” He had that look in his eyes again and he stepped toward her his hands finding her thighs and she scrambled away trying to make herself smaller into the bed and he took a hold of her ankles pulling her to the edge of the bed. “You are mine…I will have you..I will break you….you will not escape me…I will make you love me…want me…” he held himself in between her legs and and whispered within her ear biting at the flesh of her neck. “You will love every inch of me…you will know where home is it is not out there it is here with me.” He quickly unbuckled his breeches letting them pull at his ankles. He grabbed her throat and rubbed his cock between her damp folds groaning at the warmth of her cunt. He sighed in relief as he entered her core burying himself into her and she inhaled sharply. She stretched around him so beautifully and once he gained his composure he began to pump into her his face still buried into neck. “Mine…all mine…I will break you…break you..” he whispered over and over like a prayer as he held her legs to her chest. She was fighting the pleasure…fighting with the feeling of coming undone for him. Fighting against how good his cock hit every part of her insides just right. “no…please…” he groaned her pleading only arousing him more. “Even in distress you sound so beautiful…sing for me..my darling siren…” she held onto him moans escaping her, her body betraying her. Her back arched and before she could thinks she cumming her body shook in the aftermath of her orgasm and he wasn’t too far behind. He picked up the pace and with one harsh thrust he pressed the head of his cock against her cervix and filled her with his seed. He kissed her lips and for a second she forgot her hatred for him and kissed him in return. He laid with her for a while until she finally pulled away and became distant again. He sighed and stood up getting dressed. Leaving her he looked back wondering if it was worth it…she would still be miserable even if she learned to love him would he still be able to make himself believe she was happy here…he shook the thoughts away and left to do more research on her kind…determined to find away.

pete fighting uhh pinning him down. and uhh. pussy. yeah. so like. Sorry i went on a rant i’ve been stuck on this specific thought for days and i thought i’d save it to submit it. :-)
to start off, pete’s a good fight, honestly. he’s physically strong and relatively little - so he can move pretty quick and hit pretty hard. so its pretty hard to get him down onto the ground, but not too bad. it’s some deserted parking lot, the van blocks the streetlamp from really lighting us up. so i get him on his back. he’s probably dressed in something skimpy, because he’s a whore, and his hair is probably all messed up. he hasn’t had the chance to fuck with it in a few days, so its curled up at the edges from sweat. he’s grimy. sweaty. probably smells terrible. but he kinda looks pretty like this - sort of grouted at the seams. he’s very pretty, actually. his lips don’t get any less plush just because his teeth are bared (nice teeth too, by the way).
also, he’s got a collar on. because he’s a whore? i mean obviously. it’s simple black leather, a single strap around his throat with a couple studs. he’s been wearing it all day and nobody has even questioned it. so, he’s pinned down. arms under his waist just enough to restrain him, with my knee on his stomach, the other up by his hip. he’s squished in half, his thigh got caught between my legs and is now resting sort of over my hip. i’ve got a hand on his chest to keep him down, the other grabs at his collar before i can think of anything smarter to do. if he wasn’t more aware of his loss, he’d probably have tried to bite at me.
the part of this i’ve really been stuck on all day is telling him something like “down, boy” or “heel” or “don’t bite, hound” or really anything that would remind him he’s a puppy to me. (have you seen the guy? have you heard him talk? he’s a doggy!) and watching how he would sort of melt under it. relax back into the concrete just enough to tell me he’s given up. (usually, people would simply dismount (?) him at this point. but i unfortunately need to fuck him so bad that my head hurts when i think about his pussy so. here we are.) since he’s scrunched in half, his belt is pretty easy to undo, and there’s really no reason to be gentle about it - so i think i’d get his jeans up to about midway on his thigh (i would have to take my knee off his tummy but that isn’t really a problem because he’s not gonna fight back.)
he’s a fucking loser. not only because he’s a nerdy sorta freak, but because he lost the fight and he’s being undressed on perhaps the dirtiest concrete in all of the midwest, several hours after dark. non-losers would be at a party, or maybe asleep. (so, basically, he’s fucking embarrassed. a little guilty. kinda like the face doggies give you when they know they shouldn’t have done something, and they just did it in front of you.)
pete’s teary, flushed, and doing his very best to avoid the embarrassment of eye contact right now. because his pants just came off, and the shitty boxers he’s wearing are absolutely soaked through because his dumb ass can’t even get called a bitch without needing to jerk off after. (he nearly came in his pants the second he was on the ground. it’s loser behavior.)
i’d probably be actively making fun of him for it, too. like “jesus christ, dude, one punch and you’re wet through your panties?” or maybe tugging the collar and making a joke about how he must be in heat. follow it up with quite literally any sentence containing the word breed and he’s out of his mind.
i need to shove his boxers up and spread his cunt open. brush his t-dick as gently as i can just to watch him squirm. start off with one finger, dragging it in and out at a pace that would definitely make him whine. (or, try to get up so he can take over - only to be shoved back down by a hand on his throat.) (i want to feel his insides. he’s gotta be super worked up, so no matter how you’re touching him, he’d be twitching.) while he’s probably yipping up a storm (because he’s a puppy! yip yip woof!) i’d take the opportunity to get a second finger in and start on a moderate pace. two fingers, not even going that fast, and he’s losing his fucking mind. uselessly babbling and trying to shove his hips down onto my hand.
absolutely nothing going through his head, i’m sure. if anything, probably some word-soup that ends up only consisting of “puppy, please, cum” or something of that nature. not a single sentence or complex thought. i wanna watch him cum his dumb puppy brains out. barely able to move but thrashing around anyway. i’d get a hand on his collar and pinch it just a little tighter when i feel his cunt start to seize up. (i think he’d start silently, or maybe just with a mumble (something like “fuck, i’m cumming, m’ gonna cum.” again. no complex thought in that thing!) and then devolve into whining as loud as humanly possible. borderline barking. cause. yeah. you get the gist. woof.) i wanna watch him shaking and trying to compose himself after - eyeliner running down his face, red cheeks, bloody lip from our fight.
i feel like this is already too long so i’ll leave rhis one here and maybe come back later to put another incredibly long psot int he askbox. You know what it’ll be. i’ll be fucking that band guy that barks
-⚙️ gear anon :-)

A New Beginning
Author's Note: Welcome to season one of Nightbringer. Normally I take breaks in between season rewrites, but not this time. Inspiration is causing me to go full steam ahead.
MC
Everything hits me all at once. The various sounds, smells, and sights in this part of the Devildom are so intense that I nearly collapse onto the ground. I try closing my eyes in order to calm myself down, but to no avail; in fact, doing so only makes it more difficult for me to concentrate on any one thing. It's overwhelming, and I feel like crying and screaming for it to stop.
Thankfully, before I succumb to my emotions, everything suddenly grows quiet and dull. Solomon must have cast a spell to help me focus.
"I'm still unsure about this," he tells me softly. "Are you sure you're going to be okay?"
"I'll be fine," I answer. "I just have to get used to it, that's all. Plus, it's not like these guys are going to listen to some random human off the street. You at least were alive during this time and, more importantly, had the pact with Barbatos. Meanwhile, I wasn't even a thought."
"I understand, MC, but considering what you just went through with the boogeyman, I'm surprised you even considered taking on this form."
"Not all demons are monsters." I briefly pause. "Speaking of which, how do I look?" I slowly turn in a circle so that Solomon can take in all of my appearance.
"Rather convincing," he responds. "The horns and tail are a nice touch, although the eyes are a little disconcerting."
"I'm meant to look like a sheep."
"Why did you choose that animal, anyway?"
"Thought it suited me, considering I've been called one multiple times before."
"Fair enough. Have you thought of a name?" I nod my head.
"Zephyr." Solomon looks me up and down.
"I like it. The name suits you." He steps closer to me and grabs my hand.
"I take it you're ready, then?"
"As ready as I'll ever be." I clear my throat, recalling the words Satan once said to me.
"I am Zephyr. I pledge myself to you, Solomon, that we may be bound by an unbreakable pact. This I swear to you on both my name as well as the very blood that runs through my veins.” Once the mark appears on Solomon's skin, he warns me to not abuse the power I now hold over him.
"Of course," I reply. "Just as long as you don't do it to me."
"I wouldn't dare." The corner of his mouth curves upward.
"Solomon, I'm being serious."
"I am, too. I know you'd kick my ass if I went against my word."
"And that amuses you?" Solomon playfully shrugs, and I sigh, knowing that I'm not going to get a direct answer out of him.
Our current plan of attack is as follows: the two of us are going to settle down in an old cabin that Solomon spent some time in as a young cabin. Then, we'll hit the streets of the downtown area to get supplies and information. After all, we can't exactly just storm into the Demon King's castle and demand to speak to Diavolo or see any of the brothers. We don't have that kind of authority here.
Perhaps if we're lucky we'll bump into someone we recognize, and they might be able to help us, but I'm not counting on it. Besides, even if we did, it's not like we can talk to them like we're best friends. In their eyes, they've never seen us before. Well, not me, anyway. Solomon knew a couple of people here in this time period, but the chances of us running into them are slim.
Hopefully this doesn't prove to be overly difficult.

psycho type of question to ask i'm sorry but do you know if anyone knows what kind of cologne james wears? i don't know why anyone would know this actually except if he made some brief mention of it in an interview somewhere along the way... okay i'm changing my question to something better: what do you imagine each of james' characters might smell like? :)
Omg no ur not crazy I think about the same things… Ok so I did a deep dive into everything I could find and there’s not MUCH info—Hisham Tawfiq said they’re not allowed to wear colognes and perfumes on the TBL set so he didn’t know about James and Karina Arroyave (actress who played Mierce) said the same thing, if he wore anything it was never noticeable to her
BUT according to my sources (a few fan forums and twitter lol) multiple people who’ve met him said he smells like Irish Spring soap 🥹😮‍💨 I’d imagine for a long time he smelled like cigarettes too but as far as I know it’s been about six years since he quit, unless he picked it up again
EACH of his characters oh man we’d be here all day… yk @robertcaliforniagf and I were just talking about this Willow made a list!!! I think it’s very accurate a lot of cigar smells and masculine woody warm notes… Also the internet rocks and I found this website that identifies colognes and other scents in movies—Max in White Palace uses Polo by Ralph Lauren and Graham in slv shaves with Barbasol… a very light classic creamy barbershop smell yeah I can picture that for him
