MY TAKE ON THE CANON PJO/HOO SHIPS:

Percabeth

Okay so, I’ma be real. I was kinda disappointed when they got together. I thought we were gonna have “Not Every Boy/Girl relationship is Romantic” representation. But as I read more of their relationship after that, I learned to love their relationship, because its not ALL romantic. They still have that same close friendship they did before they got together and I love that. Their 5 book build up was absolutely awesome tho tbh. Love a slowburn. They are genuinely cute, silly and fun. They are the old married couple at camp teaching the campers cool stuff together. They really compliment each other. Something so personal and perfect about their relationship is that they are both different kinda of smart. Percy is street smart and Annabeth is academically smart. Also, they are both strategic in their own ways and are strong af. The fact that they are basically each other and healing the other while healing themself is precious to me. They are both insecure and feeling lonely in a demigod world, but they found and completed each other.

Jasper

Yeah, no. Super forced, and not stable. Piper is loving someone who she doesn’t even know, hence her having false memories of him. Jason doesn’t even know her and instantly fell in love. Personally, I’m not a believer in love at first sight. You have to get to know the person to truly love them for all they are. Piper is insecure and a girlboss and this relationship is keeping her alive in HoO, because she is so angry at the world. She’s living off Jason practically and thats not healthy for either of them. Jason is progressively learning about her, but it’s so middle school relationship stuff. Its really shallow love and Piper needs more than that as a child of Aphrodite. Jason needs that too because that’s just how he is but they’re relationship is built of the stress and desperation of war. So yeah. Sorry if this isn’t accurate, I haven’t read HoO in a bit and I’m not good with characters lol.

Frazel

They’re cute tbh. Age gap is a little scary, but I read something proving that they’re closer in age if you look closely. Anyways, I really like these two. They were crushing on each other before war and were really the only ones there for each other before Percy came to save the day for the Fifth Cohort. They literally had a normal crush on each other, like Percabeth but they didn’t do anything super dangerous together that brought them closer I’m guessing. Their quest with Percy brought out parts of Hazel and Frank that they needed to learn about in order to pursue a healthy relationship. They learned of each other’s pasts. On the Argo II, Frank being jealous of Leo is so cute honestly. Hazel comforting him for it too is awesome and its a cool dynamic. They are just a cool, calm, awesome power couple. They are super powerful and it was so cool to see them discover themselves together and loving each other for it. And interracial representation?? Hello?? Awesome rep, I think. Their cultural differences didn’t stop them and that’s so good for them.

Caleo

No. Just, hell no. It’s a relationship sculpted of desperation. Calypso being nice to him all of a sudden on the beach was uncalled for. Enemies to lovers can NEVER be rushed. They were super rushed. Both of them are desperate too. Calypso was desperate to get off her island and Leo was desperate for a partner after seeing everyone else have one. That is not healthy ‼️‼️ Also, Calypso is mean to Leo?!?! Calypso is bossy and kinda sorta rude to him. Like, hello??!? Leo is a little blinded by the desperation of love to realize this. If they really wanna make it work, get couples counseling from Percabeth, they are by far the healthiest couple. Caleo was def something Rick pulled outta his ass.

Solangelo

Solangelo is my biggest ship, I love them, but I do have some opinions fs. First of all, they are beautiful in theory. I love thinking of what they could’ve been. Yeah the canon’s cool, but Rick doesn’t know how to write gay characters. So most their content is different from the straight couple until TSATS. TSATS was much better writing. Rick had helped from a queer author so they acted like any other couple once again. Second, I love their simplicity. Like, they saw each other in war, thought the other was cute and was like “oh what the the heck?” and eventually got together after the war showing it was not desperation but real. Honestly, I think it started out as a crush then some shallow dating, but after being through the Tower of Nero and that whole thing, it started to get more real. In TSATS, we see them get a deeper connection. They’re whole little shallow crush thing is getting deeper and that dynamic is awesome. Also, they complement each other, and they’re dynamics are awesome. But I really love that they teach each other things. Like Will teaching Nico to embrace his light but to not forget his darkness. Nico teaching Will to embrace his darkness but not to forget his light. They are learning to be healthy and how to do this relationship stuff. I could go on forever about them and not be done so I’ll stop here.

favorite thing about them: i love how he’s such a level-headed guy like 99% of the time but he got into a verbal argument with black pete in e2. like he was right, but the """mature""" thing in that situation isn’t bickering so loudly you get trapped by the indigenous residents of the island you’re stuck on. the fact that the show doesn’t make him “be the bigger person” 24/7 honestly makes his maturity and emotional intelligence that much stronger because like, yknow what? fuck being the bigger person sometimes. he deserves to bitch at this annoying tryhard who wont stop lying about working for blackbeard.

number two: olu and frenchie bc they worked together SO well to pull off their scam and i want to see them just hanging out. it kinda feels like olu has more common sense whereas frenchie has more life experience and i think the two of them together can get up to some CRAZY shit but also they'd be able to do those casual activities together that olu and stede would not be able to agree on. frenchie should play songs and olu should sing to them and also i am picturing olu helping frenchie get over his fear of cats and my heart is so full of love rn

6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?

Features-wise... Isis has beautiful, thick, dark hair and Kaiba loves to run his hands through it or play with her hair. Kaiba has the kind of upper body strength that makes it easy for him to grab her around the waist and waltz her cleanly and completely over a gutter puddle, which she doesn’t want to admit is very swoony, but it is.

Personality-wise: they are both SO stubborn but both willing to have their minds changed, given the right argument - she openly admits when something (he) has changed her mind, while he’s more quiet about changes in his thinking, and expresses changes in his thinking more through action than anything else, but regardless, being both so stubborn and yet thoughtful people, I think they’d really like this about each other. They have faith that they can have constructive conversations with each other and not just bash their heads together!! 

Isis ofc loves most that Kaiba is determined to control his own future and hold on to his agency, and I like to think Kaiba loves her intellect more than anything else - someone who, at least when it comes to social sciences and philosophy and whatnot, can go toe-to-toe with him when it’s at 3 AM on the roof and you’re talking about your place in the universe. Like Isis has probably also read Nietzsche, and she has OPINIONS. It’s completely impossible to go to an art museum with them, they go off the rails bickering about meaning in modern art and having a great time LOL

And of course they have the same extreme devotion to family but both of them know that has driven them to dark places - not necessarily healthy places - this devotion to family isn’t a virtue so much as a double-edged sword... so they respect it in each other but are also very careful to keep an eye on each other when it comes to perceived failures.

7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?

for me trustshipping is always post-canon and they’re in their early or mid-twenties, or whatever seems most fun for two lonely young adults trying to understand themselves and what they want for themselves and what they want from the world, etc. so keeping in mind that both of them are older and kaiba especially has left some of his sturm and drang behind...

[insert generic plot here about isis coming to domino for some museum exhibit-related reason and they run into each other at some party or museum gala, you know the drill, etc. or they run into each other in berlin outside the neues museum or something idk]

i always like to think kaiba falls for her first, because he’s more emotional and volatile than her, and once he realizes that the feeling he has for her is a crush/love, he’s a little annoying about it. He definitely tries to get her attention, but also tries to play it off like he DOESN’T want her attention, he does have a crush on her but he DOESN’T, actually, THANK YOU, and only somewhat succeeds on all of these counts. like he wants to send flowers to her office, but that’s too obvious and unsubtle, so he casts about and instead sends tickets to the domino botanical gardens, which puts the ball in HER court because she can invite him in return, if she likes, or she can invite a friend, if she prefers, she can do whatever she wants with the fucking tickets he does NOT care it’s just a MEANINGLESS GESTURE, and she’s like “oh lovely, thank you. alas i’m busy on saturday” and gives both of the tickets to rishid. kaiba wants to die inside. 

isis accepts her own feelings with much more grace than he does - she has a moment of panic where she’s like ‘oh no i did NOT plan on adding romantic entanglements to my life!!’ but gets over the shock of her own feelings by falling back on the delight of understanding that she can’t always see or control the future, and sometimes what comes to her unplanned is more exciting and fulfilling and interesting than what she DID plan. no matter what, she does her best to keep it serious and keep it cool and behaves with somewhat more dignity than him, and honestly might be more straightforward with him about her feelings and what she wants and what she’s worried about.

i also imagine they’re so stiff and awkward around each other for a while. their interactions in canon go so deep without any hesitation - like he howls his life philosophy at her across the dueling field, and on the island she’s like “so... i was planning on killing myself...” it’s SO fraught and emotional that i think it takes them a while to loosen up and learn how to not unpack their deepest and most philosophical feelings over the salad course. they’re that classic introvert meme of “i hate making small talk at parties, tell me your dreams and deepest fears” but relationships do need some fluff and they’re not super great at that.

God the idea of EITHER of them being this kind of chaotic cracks me up, because they're so attached to their dignity and their self-perception as Serious People who are Never Goofy (including the goofiness of raunchy talk). The easy answer is Kaiba, because he’s way more chaotic than her, and Isis has never said a bad word in her life (Malik says them all). but the fun answer is this:

Kaiba gets a text message from Isis during a board meeting, she’s tired of Malik teasing her for taking herself too seriously and never cutting loose, and she wants to try doing ridiculous things for a change. he’s like, “LOL? cute. what kind of ridiculous things?” and then she sends him the most explicit text he’s ever read in his life and he has to excuse himself from the board meeting to lock himself in his office and have a coughing fit. god help them both

adore you music video theory (sent in by anon)

This was sent in by someone and I really love the in depth analysis given. Not to mention it’s a very nice read as well. Personally when I first watched the adore you music video I took it as Eroda being LA and Harry being new to the scene with his new found fame and what not. I have a couple of other theories but I don’t want to talk about my opinion here because you really did a solid job, Anon. And thank you for sharing this with me!

So, I've been watching the adore you lately, and especially the extended version, because I love the way it feels like a movie and the story seems like it's got hidden attributes that I hadn't been able to fully understand. 

Well, I've seen some Adore You theories about the book 'Louis the Fish' and the similarities between the book and Harry's video, but those theories made me think of some other things that would make perfect sense if it were a video based off of his relationship with L. I would have made this an ask if it wasn't so dang long, so I figured I'd submit a post to see what other's thoughts are on it.

First up, we have the island of Eroda (I find it funny that Eroda is just 'adore' spelled backwards but I digress), which I think we could compare to the fame industry or music industry? Because all of the people on Eroda are so unique and stylish and quirky, yet for some reason they're not happy. 

Then Harry is born (the peculiar little boy who is inexplicably different) into Eroda, which I think could symbolize him being initiated into the world of fame and the spotlight and yet still be 'different' and not quite understanding why he wasn't like everyone else (that difference could be many things, and could possibly relate to him not being 'masculine enough' or 'straight enough' for the industry and the womanizer image he was supposed to portray, among other things, just a thought). 

So Harry, the peculiar boy, goes through life feeling different and alone and he gets depressed enough to fill his pockets with rocks to try and drown himself (which breaks my heart), but instead finds this lonely little fish that also sticks out in the world.

He feels like he needs to take care of this fish, and ends up taking him home and feeling a connection with him, which could symbolize Louis coming into his life, and him finally feeling seen, feeling like he has a connection with Louis, like he finally isn't alone.

Harry takes care of the fish as it keeps growing bigger and bigger, outgrowing every container he puts it in, and I wonder if that's a symbol of his relationship with Louis, where it kept growing bigger and bigger until it couldn't be contained easily anymore, and it was getting impossible to keep under wraps. The larry rumors kept growing and growing until they couldn't 'fit' into a box and hidden away. 

Then we see him and the fish passing the fisherman whacking the heads off of other fish, and Harry's fish starts freaking out in terror that it will happen to him as well. I kind of wonder if that's symbolizing Louis seeing what happened to other artists that came out as gay, or bi, or any other non-hetero label, and the consequences they might've gotten for it. And seeing negative reactions from either their own management or other people's situations, he might've been hesitant enough to decide he wasn't willing to come out, at least not now.

Honestly it could symbolize both of them feeling that way about coming out, but since Louis seems far less open or out there than Harry, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Louis more than Harry. 

Once the fish breaks out of the glass (interesting that it's glass, makes me think glass closet possibly? just a thought), it lands on the ground and it's too heavy and too big now for Harry to pick up by himself and he struggles with it. Then we see all these islanders rush in to help him carry the fish, and it almost makes me think of Harry and Louis' friends possibly helping them come to terms with their relationship and how to deal with being 'different' in the industry. 

I also kind of wonder if maybe the people coming to help could relate to the Larries or the fans that have been supportive of H&L all this time and have been there through all the drama but support them no matter what they choose to be. 

Whoever it is, the people help Harry get the fish to the edge of the river, where I think we see the symbolization that 'Larry' had gotten too big to keep hiding and therefore had to be let go (i.e., sending the fish back to the water and letting it go).

And/or, that Louis wasn't ready to come out and Harry needed to let him go until he was ready for that, portrayed by him sending the fish into the water, where it was free to keep growing and being whatever it wanted to be.

I think the water could possibly symbolize the music industry, because first the fish goes into the water alone, which could symbolize Louis going into the music industry solo, without Harry.

And then we see Harry go sailing into the waters as well, using his pain and frustration (the scream bottled in a jar) as fuel to make his ship sail, which could honestly be a representation of him using his painful experiences or the struggles he went through throughout his life and his relationship with Louis to fuel his music career and help it set sail, putting that pain to good use through songwriting, shows, etc. 

I don't quite know if it symbolizes that H and L are both still in their separate parts of the industry, since the fish stayed in the water and Harry in the boat, or if they'll come back together at some point? I remember Harry doing Adore You live once and saying that 'the fish was traveling right now' or something along those lines, so maybe it's pointing to them not being free to be open and together right now, but maybe someday.

I know this is a long-ass post and maybe I'm just reaching for clouds, but I was watching the video and it's like things just started lining up in my head, so I figured I'd share. I'd LOVE to hear thoughts about it, whether anyone thinks it might be true or has their own thoughts on the video. Thanks for reading this far! I’m indecisive, so disclaimer lol. But I wanted to be self-indulgent for a moment and share my very favorite albums of 2020. In a year where I felt both alone and lonely, music was massively important to me. I tried to limit this to my top ten but I’m too indecisive and a lot of amazing music came out this year so there’s eighteen albums lol. Why not. So yeah, enjoy or ignore, I just had the urge to do this. (This isn’t in order except BE, D-2, Maria, and Map of the Soul: 7 are all definitely in the top five.)

↬ BE — BTS

I mean come on. This was the pandemic album we all needed and I will forever be grateful for this masterpiece. I think this is an album that will grow with me and will kind of act as a companion throughout my life. The musicality, the lyrics, the variety, all of it, it’s just perfection. It feels like a friend who gives you comfort but also makes you confront your emotions, and that was everything I needed this year. I will forever be obsessed with this one. BE is my friend. 

↬ D-2 — Agust D

⟶ Top Tracks: People, Moonlight, Daechwita, What do you think?, Dear my friend

Agust D came back and he fucking owned it. The amount of pure talent and passion in this mixtape is un-fucking-real. Yoongi is just unbelievably talented and this album perfectly displays that. Plus, these songs have been my ride or die since May, like, there isn’t a week that goes by that I don’t listen to this album in full at least once. Just incredible. 

↬ María — Hwasa

⟶ Top Tracks: LMM, Maria, Intro: Nobody Else, WHY, I’m bad too

This album is so connected to my fucking soul. I swear, Ahn Hyejin and I’s emotions are so similar and the way we process them is soooo similar, this album just honestly means the world to me. Plus, it’s amazing. Every song is a masterpiece. Obsessed. Much like D-2, I listen to this album at least once a week. And the number of times I have cried listening to it is unreal. Intro: Nobody Else is very much how I felt this year and LMM has made me cry more times than I care to admit. This album makes me feel what I’m feeling, gives me comfort, and helps me pick myself back up again. Another one that will grow with me. This year through the loneliness and in times that I felt I had no one, this was my companion.  

↬ MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 — BTS

Come onnnnnn. Perfection!!!! Quite literally the album that has been there with me through every step of this pandemic. I still cry watching the Ego mv. Why? No clue, just makes me sob tears of happiness. Black Swan? Possibly one of my very favorite songs EVER. OF ALL TIME. My Time? Relatable as fuck. Friends? The cutest thing I’ve ever heard. Moon? I’m sobbing again, that’s my emotional support Seokjinnie. Just, the album is a goddamn masterpiece, I don’t care who disagrees, my opinion is fact on this one.

↬ love is not dying — Jeremy Zucker

⟶ Top tracks: full stop, oh, mexico, hell or flying, lakehouse

Jeremy is another one that I just feel emotionally related too. Like I just get what he says and means and it hits me right in the heart and mind and gut. Another companion album. I think full stop is one of the most relatable songs I’ve ever heard- lyrically and the way it builds and becomes a bit chaotic… like whoah. I feel that in my chest. Also, oh, mexico is another song I related to so hard this year. This album has just made a massive impact on me and I love it.

↬ folklore — Taylor Swift

So Taylor surprised everyone with an album. What the fuck, ma’am? This is my second favorite Taylor album to date, second to only her second surprise album of the year. Like what? I’ve cried listening to this album and absolutely sobbed listening to seven. She just really popped off with this one and I don’t think I need to explain to you all why this album is so good. If you’ve heard it, you know.

↬ evermore — Taylor Swift

Oh here we have another surprise album, and now my favorite album by Taylor. I think this album perfectly displays Taylor’s insane lyricism better than any of her works. This album just hit really different for me, every song was my favorite on first listen and I still have the hardest time picking favorite tracks. It’s just beautiful and it’s great and I love it a lot.

↬ SAWAYAMA — Rina Sawayama

Have you heard it? If so, you know why it’s on this list. Pop perfection. Rina is a goddess. That’s that. It’s just amazing. Rina is a visionary and this album displays that perfectly. Comme Des Garçons was the first song of hers I ever heard and I was immediately obsessed. Next level, this woman. A queen.

↬ Petals For Armor — Hayley Williams

⟶ Top tracks: Crystal Clear, Why We Ever, Over Yet

Wow. Just, bless Hayley for this. Crystal Clear has quickly become one of my very favorite songs ever and Why We Ever is a little too relatable. And I distinctly remember hearing Over Yet for the first time in May and feeling joy for the first time since the pandemic started. This album is one to listen to when you’re mad, sad, when you need comfort, or when you’re ready to heal. Honestly, another companion.

↬ Nectar — Joji

⟶ Top tracks: Like You Do, Your Man, Sanctuary, MODUS, Run, Mr. Hollywood

I could honestly list nearly every song on this as a top song. Holy shit. Joji is another visionary. He’s insane and I’m obsessed with this album. I swear, every time I listen a new song jumps out as a favorite. Like You Do is a song that just means so much to me. A masterpiece. This album is my go to when I’m looking to get into my feels. Also Daylight isn’t listed in the top tracks but what a fucking bop. I’m just in love with this album. For real, obsessed.

↬ Plastic Hearts — Miley Cyrus

⟶ Top tracks: Angels Like You, High, WTF Do I Know, Midnight Sky, Never Be Me, Plastic Hearts

I’ve never been like an avid listener of Miley, just a few tracks, but this year I got more into her. And this album, goddamn. Every song is a contender for top track. How does that happen? Midnight Sky? Huge for me this year. Like I cannot tell you how massive of an impact this song made on me. Angels Like You is such a perfect song. High is a little too relatable. Just seriously, wow. Kind of speechless, I just adore this album.

↬ Positions — Ariana Grande

The way I cried my first time hearing pov. Ari what are you doing to me? That song is just such a beautiful way to look at love and this whole album is just so healing. A happy spot on this whole year. 34+35 is a thot anthem and I’m obsessed. This album is just another example of Ariana’s talent and we were all blessed to be able to hear it.

↬ CALM — 5 Seconds of Summer

⟶ Top tracks: Wildflower, Lover of Mine, Best Years, Teeth, High

I don’t care if y’all think it’s cool to like 5sos or not, this album is so fucking good. It far exceeded my expectations. Some of these songs are some of my favorites for the year. Wildflower is a fucking happy pill and Best Years makes me fucking cry. High is too relatable, and Teeth may as well have been written about me. And Lover of Mine perfectly relates to the most important relationship of my entire life. I’m gonna say it, Luke Hemmings is such an underappreciated lyricist. The man is good. I love this album a lot. 

↬ Manic — Halsey

I never really listen to Halsey so it took me a long time to give this album a try and wow I’m so glad I finally did. It became an instant fav. Honesty, anything Yoongi touches is a favorite for me so obviously that song would be in my tops, but Forever … (is a long time) is so relatable and just so fucking good. And Finally // beautiful stranger is honestly my favorite Halsey song ever. It’s stunning. This album is amazing. Period.

↬ Future Nostalgia — Dua Lipa

This album is just disco pop perfection and I’ve been obsessed all year. It’s the perfect album to listen to when you just wanna fucking dance and forget about all the shit that 2020 gave us. The perfect escape and it’s so so fun and the songs are just bops. I’ve probably listened to this album a hundred times because it’s just the perfect escape. If I wanna let go for a bit, this is my go to.

↬ Punisher — Phoebe Bridgers

⟶ Top tracks: I Know The End, Chinese Satellite, Garden Song

This album makes me feel some shit. Like holy hell we are in our feels. Phoebe’s songwriting is superb and these songs just hit. I honestly only listen to this album when I really need to get in touch with myself because it literally doesn’t allow me to avoid my feelings. But it’s pretty much perfection and I think it’s going to grow with me throughout the years. I just love it. I remember being blown away on my first listen, it’s just unbelievably good.

↬ Ungodly Hour — Chloe and Halle

⟶ Top tracks: Tipsy, Baby girl, Ungodly Hour

I don’t even know how to explain how good this album is. Like, have you heard it? You get it. These girls went the fuck off and all we can do is thank them for it. Thank you for your service ladies. This album is just a vibe from start to finish. And Ungodly Hour is one of the best title tracks of the year. That’s just that on that. Give them all the awards.

↬ IS ANYBODY OUT THERE? — DPR LIVE

This album isn’t just an album, it’s an experience. This man takes you on a musical journey. It’s a story. It’s flawless. I adore it. DPR LIVE is so underrated and I can’t wait for him to get the hype he deserves. This was the most surprising find this year and I’m so thankful I found it. Just so god. From start to finish, you just get sucked in and then it ends and you’re just left like, whoah. Amazing.

Top 50 NaLu Anime Moments {Pt 3}

I am so sorry it took me so long to write this! This week has been a roller-coaster to me, especially since Tuesday. I got so busy, and every time I would log into tumblr, I would only look at my dashboard and have absolutely no energy left to write. Without any further delay, let me show you guys the rest of my top 50, and today we’re covering moments 30 through 21.

30. “I’ll be lonely, you idiot!” (Ep 265).

This moment still makes me so emotional. Like... i’ve said this before on my previous top 25 moments, so there’s nothing much to add, but I love this moment because it shows how much Lucy began to rely on Natsu. How much she needed his presence around her, despite always kicking him out and scolding him. And then to lose all that? Just like that? To be filled with such a huge sense of security, the certainty that someone will always be there for you, and to have that ensurance taken away from you? That must’ve hurt. That must’ve broken her heart and it’s no wonder she’s so upset with Natsu when he comes back (again, I get why Natsu had to leave and I’ve already given my thoughts on it, but I also get Lucy’s side) and must’ve stung extra harder bc she’d just lost Aquarius, something she also never thought would happen. But yeah, this is why I like this scene, despite it being sad. It was great character development for Lucy, showed the development in NaLu, and it also pushed the ship forward by giving if conflict and separation, which only resulted in bringing them closer in the future. Also, I also like how Natsu only left a note to Lucy and no one else. She really is his most precious person, along with Happy.

29. “Let’s save the tears for when we win.” (Ep 159).

As a big sucker for moments where Natsu comforts Lucy, this one’s gotta be in the list. Despite being in a team of 5, despite her whole guild being there, only one person came to pick up Lucy and lift up her spirits and that was Natsu. It could’ve been anyone, really. Erza or Gray. But Mashima thought (and I agree) Natsu would make the most sense, because of how deep the NaLu relationship runs, to showcase how they’d grown even stronger since Tenrou Island, and it worked! Natsu, who’d once called Lucy useless to her face, coming up to her and telling her she was amazing, even though she lost? Lucy, who was always so annoyed with Natsu and his fighting, looking up to him with tears in her says saying “i’m all fired up”? That’s the kinda development we strive for.

28. “You’re Lucy of Fairy Tail, aren’t you?” (Ep 23).

I swear, this ship makes me want to scream. And here we come back to a time when Natsu and Lucy were still growing as a team, and still didn’t know each other that well, but already had so much faith on one another. This, I feel, is the first time (after, you know, the tower jump) where it showed that they actually cared and understood each other, mostly Natsu, in this case. Everyone else told Lucy not to cry, not to blame herself because of what her father did, meanwhile, Natsu merely reminded her of who she was. Where she belonged to. And like Lucy said later in the arc, she believed her mother would want her to follow her heart and do what she wanted, and this was probably the first time someone other than Layla showed Lucy that her choice was hers to make, and hers only. Like i’ve said before, what Natsu said, what he did for her here, helped shape Lucy into the person she is today, as well as it’s what also helped Lucy to start relying more on Natsu emotionally, whereas she relied mostly on him physically, to protect her.

27. “Lucy!” (Ep 303).

This moment... is much lower on my list here, whereas it was so high on the first one, but that’s mostly because my opinion has changed, as well as new moments have arrived that I loved much more, and some other moments too I now realize I took for granted, and took a high spot in my list. But nevertheless, it’s still a very special moment. And despite my problems with the animation, I have to admit that I like the desperation in Natsu’s eyes as he holds onto Lucy for dear life, after almost losing her (big sigh bc we know what happens a few eps later); and he even forgets about the other people around them: Mest, Brandish, even Happy! I like how she came first here to him, how he didn’t even hesitate before grabbing her. Now, how he came from that position to groping her boobs with all his might later, I can’t even explain, just... you know... Mashima.

26. Natsu and Lucy versus Jacob. (Ep 299).

Listen, this... this is one of the funniest fights I’ve ever watched on anime. While I like the pacing better on the manga, I really liked the execution of it in the anime, and hearing Natsu and Lucy’s “dirty talk” was one of my dreams coming to life, lmao. Natsu and Lucy once again showing how great they are at teamwork, and why they work so damn well together, how their thoughts align and how their trust on each other plays a huge deal on their victory. Plus, hello, it’s this moment which gives Mavis the inspiration to defeat Zeref, so it’s an extra big moment, i’d say, despite being severely underrated. Still on topic, I liked how when Lucy was undressed in front of him, Natsu was like “how is this supposed to be hell?” and say what you want, but just because he didn’t blush didn’t mean he wasn’t enjoying that view.

25. “Thank you for protecting our future.” (Ep 187).

Not really a NaLu NaLu moment, but still a very sweet NaLu moment. In case you don’t know (and for that reason, you should not be reading this list), the one in the picture is Future Lucy, and what makes this moment so special is that, even though that’s not present Lucy, it’s still his Lucy. He trusts her word completely and understand she effort she’s made, and all the horrors she’s been through, and he kneels down to the ground, craddles her head and presses his forehead to her, to express how grateful he is for what she’s done, and to show that he appreciates her, even if she’s not from his time. And this must’ve meant so much to this Lucy, because she lost her Natsu; she watched him die (the anime even does a little flashback), and she is back at the warmth and the softness only one person could give her, and she thought she’d never have that again. And then there he was, right in front of her, still the same man she’d always known. Still believing in her. Also, a small bonus: present Lucy is watching all this with a sweet smile and a soft blush on her cheeks.

24. “Don’t worry me like that.” (Ep 310).

And now we’re back to me wanting to scream because of these, bc hey... look at this! How come these two f*ckers started a goddamn a relationship and not even realize it? Like, it’s not even possibly platonic at this point in the story! There’s no friendship that can explain this, especially when it’s purposely being parallel with Gruvia, a canon romantic ship, and especially because we know what led up to this moment. And then you have Lucy holding onto Natsu, so relieved that she found him and squeezing him closer to her, despite not knowing what happened to him or what he’d just done, and Natsu whispering her name, listening to her voice once again when he thought he’d never listen to it again, having her so close to him when he thought he’d lost her... and you want me to not ship that? You want to tell me that’s platonic? I can’t even. I literally can’t even. That’s all I have to say about this.

23. “I want a piggyback ride.” Drunk Lucy round 1. (OVA 4).

While I love Lucy jumping on Natsu and wiggling her body onto his during the christmas ova, I have to admit this moment here has a special place in my heart, which makes it higher on the list. Maybe it’s because it was the first time we saw Lucy drunk, and was still a time when we started to really get NaLu moments, and Lucy’s feelings were still 50/50 to us, and then you get this, and Drunk Lucy is all f*cking over Natsu; she has hearts around her when she’s happy because she saw two Natsus, she makes him omelet (how? idk) and wants to feed it to him, is upset when she thinks he rejects it, wants him to make her purr... this alone should tell you a lot, is all touchy-feely with him, and basks in how warm he is, with her eyes closed. And Natsu, my boy... you coulda just run. You didn’t have to stay there and you didn’t have to obey her, lol. I bet he was freaked out because Lucy had never given him this much attention before, so he didn’t know how to deal with it. Always nice to see some Lucy > Natsu action, so let us all thank Mashima for the existence of Drunk Lucy, who makes this more possible than regular Lucy bc she lives in denial, lol.

22. “Beautiful”. (Ep 73).

A classic moment, and one that is immensely loved within the NaLu fandom, and rightfully so! Not only is this the most beautiful tree i’ve seen in anime, but also gave so much more depth to Natsu and Lucy’s relationship, despite being a simple omake. I’ve mentioned this before, but after Phantom Lord arc, there was very little development on NaLu, and most of their scenes together were reapeats of things we’d seen before: them reuniting after the team is separated, working together to solve it, reuniting again, trusting each other, yada yada. Very nice, but still, mostly just friendship and nothing that really stood out. This moment here, where Natsu uproots a tree for Lucy just because she was sick and couldn’t come to see it, then putting it into a boat so it could float all the way over to the front of her house... can be seen as a platonic gesture, and probably was made with that intention on Natsu’s part, but the thing is, these kinda things only happen with them. Yes, Mashima could have given this moment for someone else like Erza or Mirajane, or even Wendy, who was new to the series and probably didn’t even know about this: so why didn’t he? The answer is quite easy, and y’all know it. Development. Growth. Natsu was upset Lucy couldn’t come and join them, didn’t even crack a smile during the whole festival, but he wanted Lucy to be able to, even if he didn’t get to see it. He wanted to make her happy. That’s very special of him, and I think there was already a little of romance there, he just didn’t know what it was, so he just followed his feelings and went for it. Okay, enough gushing and analysing, time to end this list.

I really truly love this moment (love dragon cry in general), and I love how Wendy interrupted them and knew immediately she’d walked into something intimate, the poor thing, lmao, I wish that was me. But really, this is just Natsu taking any excuses he can to stand super close to Lucy even when it doesn’t make sense, because we all know he’s just got it real bad for her.

Regarding the- 'will kara get a love interest in season 5' thing. I just hope that they don't bring Mon el back. Yes, I know that he did drastically improve from what he was in season 2 but still I just have an argument whenever people use the- 'male characters have love interests, Kara should also have one, she shouldn't be a lone island.' .Yes, they are right. Kara should get everything which male heroes get. But there's a difference. (1/3)

Lois, iris, Dinah Lance and almost all women who are the love interests of men are literally perfect. They have the same moral code and fight for the same things the male hero does. So, inspite of Mon el changing, I think kara deserves someone who is already as awesome as her and doesn't have to be kicked and dragged to become a hero. I still feel like this show doesn't really write romance well, and neither does any other arrowverse show but I hope (2/3)

when they leave their- 'there should be drama in a relationship' doctrine at the door this time, if Kara gets a relationship. (3/3)

okay so personal feelings about Mon-El aside, i do understand and agree with basically everything you’re saying. like more than anything i just want to see some god damn Happy and Healthy Relationships?? that are Stable and Good?? why is that too much to ask? i’m TIRED of Doomed Relationships, it’s boring!

i think for Kara’s character it makes sense that /she/ wants a relationship bc she’s desperate to find someone that understands her burdens and such. that’s been established since s1. that’s /why/ she was so invested in Mon-El at the start.

so like i said before, with this being CW, romance is almost guaranteed in the future and i’m not opposed to that, but i am weary about how it will inevitably be handled.

also, just a personal opinion, but i really think it would be just fucking lovely if they would actually let Kara own and express her anger, PTSD, trauma, etc and finally set some freaking boundaries with the ppl in her life. and if those ppl could finally own up to the bullshit they’ve put Kara through that would just be a wonderful cherry on top. i want THAT before and romance lol.

That Summer Chapter 145 Summary!

WEE WOO WEE WOO HERE WE GOOOOO

OUR BEAUTIFUL HB is chilling at a diner and staring out the window when someone takes a seat across from him. It's Eldo LOL she saw the news about his dad's scandal, and the power struggle that was happening. Eldo figures this is a good thing for HB, though, since if his dad has to step down from candidacy, he can go back to Korea.

HB denies it, saying that the deal has nothing to do with the election. Eldo pouts, asking what he's going to do about Jumi then. HB looks unamused, wondering why he even told her about that in the first place. Eldo doesn't care, saying he told her because he was lonely abroad and had no one else to talk to except her LMAO. She asks why he's not contacting her, but he doesn't respond :( She continues to say it would be nice if YW was still single, since it feels like a waste to have him belong to just one person.

Eldo says she never imagined he and YW would break up, though. HB looks kinda sad at that, saying that it was all in the past and that he threw both of them away.

But Eldo tells him to stop beating himself up, because although he's the worst, he's not that bad LOL why she gotta roast him every sentence T__T

Eldo: Hey, -I don't know what's going on,

She brings up a story from the past when they were all in elementary, and their parents would all have a gathering. At some point, HB and his dad would start attending, and all the parents would encourage the kids to get along. But HB stayed isolated :( Later on Eldo was running to bathroom when she spotted HB's dad hitting HB and scolding him for not making friends YIKES can I call 911???

Eldo was surprised that HB had gotten punished for that, because she didn't think that was reason enough to be yelled at over. HB isn't impressed, asking if she forgot she was reason he was isolated in the first place because she took the initiative to exclude him ALSKFJAKL. Eldo corrects him and says she never took the initiative, but just simply chose not to include him in stuff I'M DONE LOL.

But she also says that's the reason why she started to believe in karma—ever since she tattled on the fact that HB and YW went to the same academy, she thinks there was a butterfly effect that led her to be stuck abroad with him (which in her opinion, is the worst situation she could imagine).

She asks again if he's really not going to contact Jumi, and HB says what right does he have to do that at this point? :( :( :( Eldo agrees, saying he's way too late, and that had that been her, she would've gotten 5 boys a week confessing to her. That triggers HB, and she keeps taunting him asklfjakl. He says that even if they were the only two people stuck on an inhabited island, he would have no intentions on being her friend LOL.

He asks her to get lost, and she gets up to leave, wondering if she did an unnecessary thing. HB's confused at that, but all Eldo says is that if he plans on contacting Jumi, he should do it already. BOY LISTEN TO HER FOR ONCE.

Outside, Eldo meets up with a mysterious figure which is obviously YW by the way she reacts and calls him “Sunbae”. I'M CRYINGGG. She's glad to see he looks well, saying college life did good for him. She tells him that HB's over in the diner and watches him leave. She looks pretty happy as she leaves, saying she doesn't care if YW's gay and that he doesn't like her. She's still going to fangirl over him until she dies. UM GIRL MOOD? I'M PROUD OF YOU GOOD JOB.

HB's still chilling out at the diner, staring blankly at nothing until he notices the figure approaching him. He looks shooketh as YW walks up and says hi. BROOO WE GONNA DIE NEXT CHAPTER I CAN FEEL IT ALREADY. ORDER YOUR CASKETS.

Who or what sparked your love of literature?

Aw my parents fueled my book habit when I was a kid and took me to the bookstore all the time and since then all my teachers have always encouraged me and made me love books even more than I thought possible.

Do you have an ‘odd’ book habit? (page sniffing/never leaving the house with a book)

It’s true that I never go anywhere without a book. I got one in my backpack or purse or reading on my phone but it’s always there.

Do you have a book that you think has changed your life? How?

A lot of books and series have made significant impacts on my life (like I can’t picture elementary school without Percy Jackson being in my life) but like as a person I can’t think of any one book that has changed who I am. It’s been a team effort.

Which book have you reread most frequently?

I think I reread Hush Hush every year lmao idk why

You can meet any author and ask one question. What author would you chose and what question would you ask?

Favorite quality/qualities in a protagonist and antagonist

Wow this is s hard okay for protag I am a sucker for like stubborn, smartass with a martyr complex. Sad but true. Antags I love a good morally grey character or anti-villain. Tragic backstory but smart as hell. The worst (the best). Characters like the Darkling from The Grisha Trilogy, and Warner from the first Shatter Me book (I know he’s a good guy NOW but back then we all thought he was a sadistic and sexy villain).
