oh im SO busy today so this is gonna be brief. most of today was some golden guard stuff! which. makes no sense to yall cause its a background aspect i havent talked a whole lot about, but yeah, i'm doing some fun things with the previous golden guards. to flesh them out a bit! and for some fun collector things. needless to say he WILL take the absolute wrong lesson <3

but thats a secret! for later! i also wrote the start of a king&collector scene which is always a delight, i love these two so much.

my favorite part of what i wrote today:

“Wanna see town.” They sprawl with their hands dangling over the edge, where the Isles are so itty-bitty down below. Their web is still empty in a lot of places. It’s hard to make a web from the sky. They gotta make it connect in all the places down below! “Make the web better.” “Is that what you’re trying to build?” King clambers next to him ‘n the star is OFF, though not so fast. Harder to talk! “A web? You mention it a lot.” “Well yeah.” They flip on their side to look now at their best friend, who is studying the ground like they just were. “There used to be this whole web across everything. All this stardust that touched every bit of the Isles! And sometimes across the sea maybe if the itty people went that way.” They frown. “But now it’s gone. ‘n I don’t like how it looks.”

okay, so techno is a roman demigod and a child of minerva. I know that in the books minerva wasn’t rlly honored at camp jupiter, but idk I feel like it fits him more than bellona? besides, the au isn’t a perfect replica of the books lol

techno’s also a legacy of mars and a legacy of the greek goddess demeter, but that isn’t revealed to him until later.

dream is someone I’m having more trouble with. so, like in the books, there was a titan war, and dream played a very influential role in that. I want to keep the prophecy of the child of the big 3, or at least something similar to it, so I kinda want dream to be a child of poseidon. however another part of me kinda wants to make him a child of nike—esp bc athena and nike are two gods closely associated with each other, and it would be good symbolism w/ techno & dream being the main focus of the au.

so, long story short, leaning towards dream being a child of nike, but might have him still connected to the big 3 gods in some way

i have such a love/hate relationship with writing because on one hand: it’s time consuming, stressful, ew wtf is this dialogue, etc, However, it’s also like, “omw to rewrite my favorite already existing, mentally unstable, irredeemable characters and make them slightly less mentally unstable and more redeemable so they can match what’s in my head !!!”

So, I like to think that Quixis is C!Sherbert, but also not C!Sherbert. Sort of in a similar vain to Hardcore!Sherbert or Craft!Sherbert. But unlike them, Quixis doesn't exist at the same time. They're from the future. C!Sherbert's future. But also. Not.
