first time requesting kinda nervous 😳 how the proxies (emphasis on toby and ben ofc) would react to meeting a fangirl
please..
✦ . jeff the killer
At first? He eats it up.
She’s squealing, telling him how “hot” he is, asking about the murders like they’re the newest trend—and Jeff’s smirking like a celebrity caught in public.
“Damn. You read the whole thing? You must be real desperate.”
He’ll let her fawn over him, lean in close, give her that predator grin. He likes that power, but it gets boring fast. The second she asks for a selfie, he’s already pulling a knife.
“You think I’m some fandom character? Cute. Let’s make it real.”
Fangirl or not—if she treats him like a fantasy? He’ll remind her what the real Jeff feels like.
✦ . ticci toby
Toby would be so weirded out. The second she starts gushing about his “axe aesthetic” and how she read “sooo many x readers with him,” he’s just standing there like: 😬
“Wait. You… like me? Like… that?”
He’ll stutter, glance around, then get real uncomfortable when she tries to touch his hoodie or talk about his stutter like it’s “cute.”
He might end up blurting something violent just to shut her up. Snapping like a cornered dog.
“You know I’ve g-gutted people, right? Like for real. This isn’t so-some fantasy, girl.”
But if she’s persistent? He’ll probably flee the scene before he short-circuits.
✦ . eyeless jack
Stone. Cold. Silence.
She’s freaking out—“OMG JACK I LOVE YOU,” waving her phone around showing art of him shirtless, gushing about his “dark aura.”
Jack just… stares. Doesn’t say a word.
“You love me, huh?” Leans in. Sniffs her.
“What part of organ consumption do you find romantic?”
She keeps babbling. He calmly says,
“Take one step closer, and I’ll remove your fingers and make you watch.”
Jack does not want to be romanticized. The only way he’s tolerating a fangirl is if she comes with an organ donor heart on her driver’s license.
✦ . masky (tim wright)
Tim’s immediately suspicious.
Fangirl energy? Red flag. He thinks she’s either a plant from the cops, a proxy from another faction, or batshit unstable.
“What the hell is this?”
When she starts talking about his trauma like it’s character development, it pushes his buttons fast.
He might pin her to the wall just to see how quick she screams.
“You like killers so bad? Then act like prey.”
No patience. No tolerance. She gets too touchy and she’s knocked out cold.
✦ . hoodie (brian thomas)
Brian just… vanishes. The minute she starts gushing about his “mystery” and calling him “babygirl,” he’s halfway across the forest.
If she catches him off guard?
He’ll give her the iciest stare ever. Total silence.
“You’re not supposed to know I exist.”
If she pushes it, though—tries to flirt, pulls the “I can fix you” line—he’ll pull his gun and level it calmly at her head.
“No. You can’t.”
End of conversation.
✦ . kate the chaser
Kate’s first instinct? Mockery.
“Oh my god, are you… serious? You’re crushing?”
If the fangirl is cringe, she’ll go hard. Insults, intimidation, laughter.
“Lemme guess. Daddy issues and a Tumblr archive full of fake blood edits.”
But if the fangirl is confident, maybe even a little unhinged? Kate will be curious.
“You’ve got guts. Let’s see if they’re pretty on the floor.”
Don’t fangirl at Kate unless you’ve got the spine to back it up.
✦ . ben drowned
Ben is loving it.
She’s talking about his glitches, his tragic past, how he’s her “favorite haunted boy.” He lounges back and smirks, soaking in every second.
“Damn, you do got good taste.”
He’ll flirt back, call her Player 2, maybe even offer to show her the inside of his code. But if she starts crossing lines—calling him her “anime husbando” or posting about it online—he’ll crash her phone.
“This ain’t a play date, baby. This is a curse.”
Still, he’s the most likely to entertain a fangirl. For a while. Especially if she’s hot.
✦ . clockwork
Natalie hates it.
The minute a girl starts calling her “mommy” or complimenting her “yandere energy,” she’s already planning how to break her fingers.
“You think murder’s cute? You think me ripping someone’s throat out is adorable?”
She’ll mock the fangirl’s voice, imitate her squealing, then lean in and whisper something truly vile just to shut her down.
“Say one more thing about my clock and I’ll turn you into a organless corpse.”
But if the girl’s genuinely respectful? Nat might spare her. Maybe. Barely.
✦ . laughing jack
LJ is delighted. He thinks fangirls are hilarious.
“You read stories about me? Did they get the part where I pulled a kid’s intestines out like party streamers?”
He’ll lean into it, play the part, even sign her arm in fake blood if it makes her scream.
But deep down, he’s analyzing her. Seeing how far she’s willing to go. How far he can push.
“Ohhh, you’re obsessed with me? That’s adorable. Let’s test it, sugarpop.”
She might think it’s fun and games. Until the lights in his eyes go out and his smile fades.
✦ . slenderman
Utter disdain.
He senses her miles away. Her obsession. Her idealization.
“You perceive me as fiction.”
She comes running with fanart and poems and glittery Tumblr edits—he doesn’t even blink. Just tilts his head.
“Fascinating. You mistake horror for romance. Let me correct your delusion.”
One look from him and her mind could shatter. He’s not here to be idolized.
He is the myth. And myth doesn’t bend for fangirls.

Oh pls not this shit again. It’s literally stated on their CN official page — “heterosexual plus respect the characters, their sexuality, design etc”. And no, mc will always be a woman it’s been proven and said numerous times in the game and especially by the developers themselves in their interviews. Listen to what Raf said in CN, it’s about her appearance as a whole, not about genders overall not even close to that. So stop twisting canon material just to fit your delusional fujoshit narrative.
And yes, my point still stands. Instead of writing about existing canon queer characters where an actual woman fancies another woman you’d rather write about a man in a twisted way. This is one of the reasons you don’t get some good fem queer rep bc it’s unnecessary when men and your delulu exist. Pathetic ash 🫩
First of all, drop the anonymous bitch, because this is the last time I will respond to your stupid ass anyway, coming on my page throwing around hate for literally no reason whatsoever. Get a life or a job cause you're clearly missing both.
What is canon to the game is canon to the game and I never implied what I wrote on that fic is canon? Are you lacking comprehension skills? Point to me where I ever said or even implied MC is not a woman. Oh wait, you can't💗 because I never said as such. And Rafayel's character clearly states he will love her in ANY form, whether is gender, sexuality, appearance etc. You're just not smart enough or just a bit too homophobic to take it as it is clearly stated in the game.
Whether is the EN or the CN or the other languages, Infold is the one controlling whatever makes it in the game. So if they didn't want to imply that, they would have outwardly make Rafayel—or the other Lis—express their conditional love toward MC.
Being any kind of artist gives you freedom of speech, experimentation and all the likes, and guess what, you should focus your energy on consuming the content you actually like instead of yapping in my inbox while anonymous, mind you. Who is the pathetic one again? Yeah, thought so💋
As if your little yap session is going to stop me from writing whatever the fuck I want to write on my OWN page. You're fucking delusional if you think so. I don't have to justify myself in front of a random anonymous, so leave my page and block me. It's like the third time I'm telling you, do you not comprehend?
Anyway, I will keep enjoying my art and my life because I have one. Can't say the same about you. ;)
Kisses💋

Hi! I was wondering, will the full game cost money? I’m assuming yes because of how much work is being poured into this. Also, do you have a price range for the full game?
SO...... THIS IS ACTUALLY SOMETHING I WANTED TO TALK TO U ALL ABOUT AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO SUMMON THE COURAGE FOR IT FOR LITERALLY THE PAST IDK HOW MANY MONTHS...... I WAS GONNA TELL U ALL ON MY BDAY NEXT WEEK SO U COULDNT BE MEAN TO ME WHEN I ANNOUNCE IT SKXISOOSOS BUT I GUESS ILL JUST SAY IT NOW...... (sorry anon im using ur question as an excuse to make an important announcement)
Yes, Alaris will be paid, and it will be $15 USD ($12 USD for Early Access)
NOW..... FOR THOSE OF U WHO HAVE BEEN HERE A LONG TIME..... i know i have said in the past i was planning on alaris being $5-$7 but i cant emphasize how many times i was told by gamers and dev friends alike to increase the price. ppl literally BEGGED me bc i was Severely underselling myself and my work. even now with me making the price $15, ppl have been telling me its still undervaluing the worth of the game.
i know $15 is much more than i said the game would be and for a long time, i wanted to keep the price low for accessibility reasons. but as time has gone on and the amount of work i've put into this game has increased, it seemed less and less fair for me to price the game at $5-$7. having worked on the game for 5 years now, that price would literally be compensating me $1/year which just kinda..,.,. feels like someone spit in my face KXKSOSOSSO.
on top of that, i'm at a different point as a developer than when i first started alaris. when i first started the game, it was my first game ever, i wasn't in it for any kind of commercial success and i just wanted to make a silly little game with my little fingies. but five years down the road, a lot has changed. i've invested way more time and effort into this game than i originally had expected, the player base has gotten bigger than i would've imagined, and my experience as a dev has come a long way. the product is just different from what i had first imagined, and as someone no longer completely inexperienced, i also see myself differently (in a good way)!
alaris has always been my child but it's more than that now. it represents five years of growing as a developer, and i think the art assets and writing rly showcase that. i honestly think $15 is an extremely fair price for the game given the amount of content in it. it's partially voice acted, has 60+ backgrounds, will have 50+ CGs, 15 character sprites, 350k words, 6 routes, like... the list goes on ykwim. and compared to other vns of similar lengths/quality, $15 is more than reasonable.
i know some ppl will say they can't afford this which is totally fair, and i do plan on eventually having sales on the game so that it can be around that $5-$7 price (much later down the road). but i hope you all can understand where i'm coming from as a developer and someone who does have their own bills and life expenses to pay for. and more than that, i hope you can support this decision as a player who also sees the same value in the game that i do <3

I wonder if its just me or that the fandom at large doesnt seem to care about Wendy. Like, yeah sometimes they bemoan about how she got sidelined and raise about the cancelled stories but like, I dont see as much fan content about her. In fact I see more Pacifica art around, despite her not being the main character at all. It only seems wendippers care about her the most.
Oh yeah. Even in the fandom it feels like Wendy barely gets much attention and it upsets me a lot given I think she's a character that has so much more to give and for us to learn about her. Ironically like you said, despite how the fandom is about it, what little wendip community is out there still, gives her more appreciation than most other parts of the fandom do and continue to wanna see more out of her character in official content. And as someone who similarly wants to see more Wendy development, I'm with them on that tbh. It's a win/win really as Wendy developing will benefit all fans. I think part of the problem is that cause many fans associate her with that ship and ever since canonically at least, it was sunk, people just sort of stopped caring about Wendy and moved on to other characters, given the show sorta stopped so too. I mean, whenever I look through season 1 era GF content and blogs, there is a ton of Wendy content (and not just wendip stuff but a mix of things related to her) and barely any Pacifica content, given of course, everyone hated her then, lol. But by season 2 onward, it was vice versa.
I guess because of all that, those in the fandom who ship dipcifica don't as much care about her as a result. Of course, it's not all of them given I'm sure there's dipcifica shippers who wanna see more Wendy development and wendip shippers who in turn wanna see more Pacifica development. But it is also disappointing overall tbh, given both Wendy and Pacifica are so much more than their most popular ship. they have personalities of their own and stories that can be told with both established and to be created lore. And it is possible to do that. Using The Owl House as an example, Amity got a ton of development and lore about her that wasn't revolving around lumity. Fans of that show were able to like and learn about her through a lens that wasn't just wanting her to be Luz's girlfriend. And it benefitted that ship too given as result, it made lumity that better of an end goal, as Amity changed for the better in a way that made her and Luz being together feel more worth it and deserving (which hot take, Pacifica isn't still IMO developed enough for that to work with Dipcifica, hence why alongside his own belief about it, Alex never has fully canonized that ship).
It is possible to give Wendy (and Pacifica) a similar type of development and lore without lumping it up with shipping. Wendy is arguably the least developed main character and so, deserves more. I want Wendy to be more than just the cool character that Dipper had a crush on. I mean, similarly to that in a way, Vanessa in season 1 of Phineas and Ferb was sort of the same and more so a Candace 2.0 but overtime, became a more interesting and developed character with her own personality and story in series that made learning about her fun and gave us more to enjoy about that character. We've seen in the show there is more to Wendy from stuff she's said and lore that books have dropped. There is a lot more to her that we can learn. I think there are GF fans who want to see more out of Wendy, but with a lack of anything to really look into on her beyond all the shipping stuff which many have moved on from, there's not much to do with her. So, she gets sidelined. When Gravity Falls itself stops sidelining Wendy, fans I feel will stop doing so too.
Tumblr media
Also side note, Wendy and Mabel content would be honestly really cool to see more of. They have a real big sister and little sister type bond and seeing Wendy perhaps giving Mabel life advice and being a sort of mentor to her would be amazing. We've already seen a bit of that in Society of the Blind Eye, so more of that would be welcome. Point is, there is so much Wendy could be used for with proper development...it's just a matter of actually trying it out and seeing what works.

okay wait I did figure out how to make this selfship story line me yet not me . walk with me (or don't..... this is a deranged storyline)
so like. kaixiang (or whatever her name is, let's call her that for now) is from this far east land called serica (term for silk road china in ye olde greece). in some timelines, the kremnoan detachment makes it over there and try to make it a homeland because they conquered the locals rip. and that's how kaixiang meets mydei. in some other timelines, kaixiang just makes it over to okhema while fleeing from the black tide and meets mydei there. they get real close in all the timelines and mydei's memory glitches get extremely very wonky around her. in all timelines she gets killed by lygus.
"but mao," you ask, "why on earth in a greek-coded world would there be a chinese person? why is the timeline so wack around her? why is lygus killing her all the time?" and that would be because kaixiang is not actually an amphorean. she is a virus 😎
ENTER THE REAL KAIXIANG (mao? this is Me). they are kind of a girlfailure and they have the appearance of a NEET most of the time when they're doing overtime (and they're always doing overtime somehow). nevertheless the erudition gazed upon them, which I guess? makes them an emanator? I don't understand hsr lore. anyway this loser nerd decides they aren't on board with the whole destruction heat death thing so they've been trying to interfere with the amphoreus simulation via a trojan horse virus, which manifests as an AI modelled after themself. kaixiang is like mao's mary sue insert character SKFHSKSB it's very meta that way.
so mao releases kaixiang into amphoreus but doesn't really pay attention to what's going on in each cycle. they just kinda let the simulation run in the background while doing their NEET hobbies, it's kinda like doing hsr dailies on auto. at the end of each cycle they check to see what the outcome is and they mald because lygus wipes the virus each time.
unbeknownst to mao, kaixiang kinda develops a kind of sentience throughout all these cycles and realises that amphoreus is a doomed project. she has gotten really attached to the world and is super depressed about the thought of losing everyone. so in one of the final cycles (the one with TB and danheng), she acts as a virus does and copies all the amphoreus data for the major characters SGLHDKDJD then sends it back to mao. mao the girlfailure receives this data. they decide to download the amphoreus character data into tangible bodies for......some unethical reason I don't know yet.
anyway the amphoreus characters escape the planet in this way and they have memories of all the cycles including their doomed fates 💀
mydei makes a BEELINE for mao because he thinks they're kaixiang but they're really not. this is very tragic for him because every time he sees this little loser NEET, he sees his lover/friend/fuckbuddy of like ten thousand timelines, but it's really not them. I do think when mao discovers that kaixiang consistently lusted after mydei, they are like "yeaaah I would do that" because kaixiang was originally based on their consciousness and. well. they find mydei really sexyhotbeautiful.
I THINK? it does work out. mao locks in and binge watches all ten thousand cycles where the wankai ship happens and is so inconsolable by the end of it that they go to mydei and bawl pathetically. and they're like IM NEVER GONNA BE HER YOULL NEVER LOVE ME LIKE YOU LOVE HER (<- they are nonsharing with their own AI self and believe their f/o mydei would never go for them.) but he finds it kinda funny because kaixiang did have a pathetic miserable side to her and he's like ah yes. this is my sexyloserbeautiful wife. we are reunited.

Jun Esaka never said that Sasuke Retsuden or Sakura Hiden weren’t canon.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sakura haters genuinely don’t seem to understand what a spin-off is, and honestly, it’s concerning. The way some them instantly jump to “non-canon” the moment a work is called a spin-off just shows a complete misunderstanding of what the term actually means. A spin-off is simply a story that branches off from the main plot. It often focuses on side characters, different events, or expands the lore of the universe. That’s it. Being a spin-off does not mean it isn’t canon.
The Last: Naruto the Movie is a spin-off. So are the Naruto novels. And guess what? They’re still canon.
In her tweet, Jun Esaka never said her novel wasn’t canon. All she said something the lin of: “If you don’t like my novel, don’t read it. It’s a spin-off, not part of the main story, just an extra part.”
Tumblr media
That doesn’t mean it’s non-canon, it means it’s not part of the main manga storyline, but still contributes to the Naruto universe in a meaningful, canon way. Yet Sakura haters immediately twisted her words to suit their own narrative, ignoring context entirely.
And let’s talk about how far this has gone. I can't believe some people actually sent death threats to Jun Esaka, over a fictional novel because you can’t stand the fact that Sakura got development or attention in the story. That’s just unhinged and outright disgusting.
It’s one thing to dislike a character. Fine. But to take that hatred so far that you harass and threaten the author? Over a spin-off novel? That is disturbing, and if you think that kind of behaviour is normal or justified, you seriously need to re-evaluate yourselves.
In conclusion, just because you hate Sakura doesn’t mean you get to rewrite canon. Just because something doesn’t centre your favourite character doesn’t make it invalid. And just because it’s a spin-off doesn’t mean it isn’t part of the official universe.
Stop spreading misinformation. Stop twisting definitions to suit your bias. And most of all, stop harassing creators for telling stories you don’t like.

Ok so this might be pointless rambling and I don't know yet where I'm going with this but ever since I finished the main story of KCD2 two days ago I was (like many others) wondering what's next. The story definitely landed; the pacing, the beats was there for Henry's story to culminate as it did. There were some hints in the story or in the dialogue indicating an end of the story; while others did the very opposite, pointing us towards loose ends that are practically begging to be wrapped up. Of course, they might be there only to let us wonder and weave headcanons and are only showing us the possibilities of what we can imagine for the characters in their future.
I watched the recently released documentary about the day before the launch of KCD2 and in one of the last segments ("What's next for Warhorse?") two interesting points were raised: one, that KCD was originally imagined as a trilogy, but that KCD2, due to its size, might have cannibalised the third instalment, and second, that it was "a conclusion". And also it's a pretty random point to leave the characters off when you look at the overarching theme. Revenge was achieved on both Toth and von Aulitz; but Wenceslas is still in captivity, from which he's supposed to escape in November 1403, and of course there's the wedding... It would make sense that the larger story would end with Wenceslas being freed, thus really concluding the narrative.
But I don't think there will be a KCD3 in a sense that there would be a direct sequel. Development takes years; to wait 8 years or so to fully conclude the story could seem derivative? idk. What I'm going for (I think) is that KCD2 doesn't necessarily need a sequel (much as I would like to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance II to XVI), but an epilogue. "Need" being a strong word, because the story has a satisfying conclusion, it's just the bread crumbs that the game itself leaves invite this kind of speculation. So once again, idk!! I guess a big DLC, unannounced as of yet, would make the most sense. Since we would be heading into autumn and it's apparently eternal Bohemian summer in KCD1 and KCD2, it could be easier to isolate different weather patterns for a DLC set in autumn/winter. Anyway would love to see it.

Jiang Family Analysis
Ok, so, I've wanted to make this post for a while because I've always had some distinct opinions about the Jiang Family, though not all of them are bad, per se.
Just a few disclaimers before I get started:
THE FOLLOWING IS MY PERSONAL OPINION AND MY OPINION ONLY. I HAVE (WHAT I THINK IS) SOUND REASONING FOR IT, BUT IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT OR AGREE WITH IT, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO READ THIS. I AM NOT TRYING TO PRESSURE MY VIEWS OF THESE CHARACTERS ON OTHERS. THIS IS SIMPLY HOW I SEE THEM. THIS IS ALSO NOT VERY JIANG PARENT FRIENDLY, SO BE WARNED. IF I AM FACTUALLY INCORRECT, YOU ARE WELCOME TO CORRECT ME IN THE COMMENTS.
Ok, here we go!
Jiang Fengmian:
I honestly have no respect for this man. Like, zero. I am glad he took in Wei Ying and gave him a home, but in doing so, he also destroyed his own home. Obviously, Madam Yu's abuse is not his fault; he didn't force her to abuse Wei Ying, but on that subject, he completely lacks backbone here, as well as pretty much everywhere we see him. The first and main reason I don't like him is the fact that Jiang Cheng's hurt and confusion on why Jiang Fengmian chooses Wei Ying over him is obvious. It's so incredibly clear. Madam Yu straight up tells him he's favoring Wei Ying over Jiang Cheng, and he does nothing to fix it. Over and over again, he's faced with problems he could so easily solve if he were to speak clearly and truthfully for one—because we know that he does love Jiang Cheng—and he chooses not to. Another example of this is the rumours that Wei Ying is Jiang Fengmian's son. I can't quite remember if it is stated directly in the novel, but we do know it was a prevalent rumour that would've certainly made it to Jiang Fengmian's ears. I am certain he knew Madam Yu may have thought Wei Ying was his son, or at least knew many people did, and yet again, he does nothing to address this issue. Another issue we see him use the "if I don't say anything, it can't get worse" approach, is with Wei Ying's abuse. He knew Madan Yu regularly abused Wei Ying, which, yes, while sort of period-appropriate, the level of abuse he received was not the norm, and the time it occurred at never excuses child abuse. Yes, Madam Yu usually did it when Jiang Fengmian wasn't home, but he was well aware of it. He could've put his foot down at any point—he was the godamn sect leader—but he chose not to. While I don't know if this was a sick way to attempt to appease Madam Yu, or just pure cowardice, I do know that no man with enough conviction to bring in an orphan, but without the backbone needed to protect them from abuse, should ever raise a child. We also see this failure to address issues with the general deterioration of his family and how he never seems fully present with them.
My take on this is that it's a sort of defense mechanism he developed from when he was first married to Yu Ziyuan, which was arranged, and I assume neither of them was happy with. Her verbal abuse (educated guess, we don't actually know anything about the state of their marriage pre-Wei Ying, but with Madam Yu's anger issues during the timeline, I kinda doubt they would've been a recent development, especially since anger seems to be how she expresses unhappiness) would've made it hard for him to stand up for himself, and he chose the route of "well, if I don't say anything, it can't possibly get worse" as a way of defending himself and helping himself cope with the unhappy situation. I feel like most of his issues are rooted in a fear of being wrong. Think about it, if he doesn't take a side, he can't get yelled at for choosing the wrong one, and if he never addresses a problem, it can't get worse—at least, so he thinks. Inaction is still abuse and neglect, intentional or not.
Madam Yu:
Again, I have very little respect for her. I enjoy her character base—a strong warrior woman forced into an arranged marriage with a complete pushover, and going mad falling for rumours and whispers about him being unfaithful, but as a person, she disgusts me. First and foremost, her behavior towards Wei Ying. This is the main issue I have with her, though I have bones to pick with her about her treatment of her bio children. Being angry at your husband because people are saying he cheated and then had a child, which he proceeded to bring back to your home to raise, is one thing; that's mostly valid. But taking that anger out on said child and systematically abusing them is completely and totally inexcusable and an abhorrent thing to do. Wei Ying did nothing wrong, a fact that he never seems to grasp, even near the end of the story, where he starts to heal and grow as a person. Madam Yu did such irreparable damage to him that he automatically assumed everything was his fault, even and especially when it was not. And all of that was for no reason other than petty bitterness, anger at his skills, and disdain for his mother. I also believe her behavior towards Jiang Cheng is mostly to blame for his later issues in life. She was the only parental figure who showed him even a shred of attention and investment in his progress, so as any child would do, he tried to model himself after her. This also does kinda loop back around to Jiang Fengmian, as if he'd showed even a little bit more affecttion towards Jiang Cheng, he might've turned out with healthier ways of expressing emotion. Madam Yu showed him that the only way he'd ever be important or worthy to anyone was if he was better than Wei Ying, better than someone—anyone else. This obviously left him with deep-seated self-worth issues and unhealthy ways of coping with grief, guilt, and uselessness. Lastly, her treatment of Jiang Yanli. This isn't something I've seen talked about a lot, but it's definitely there. I feel like Jiang Yanli is Madam Yu's Child She Doen't Pay Attention To like Jiang Cheng is Jiang Fengmian's. But instead of being bitter about it, Jiang Yanli focuses on being a positive parental figure to Jiang Cheng and Wei Wuxian and keeping their broken family together.
I really think Madam Yu's incessant anger is a product of feeling trapped in her environment, with a husband and children she never wanted, in a place she never learned to call home. This obviously doesn't excuse her abuse towards literally everyone in that household. It also doesn't excuse how she constantly would drive a wedge between Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng, isolating Jiang Cheng from his peers and driving home the thinking that if he was better than them, he shouldn't associate with them, and if they were better than him, they were rivals.
In summary, for both Madam Yu and Jiang Fengmian, I truly believe that had they been in a happy relationship, or not been in a relationship at all, their children's lives would've been so much better. You can blame Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng, and Jiang Yanli, all you want, but at the end of the day, it was their parents who taught them how to act, and they were terrible role models. This obviously doesn't excuse any bad decisions they made, but it does explain them.
Wei Ying:
Wei Wuxian is a tragedy. Abandoned as a young child (though not willingly) and taken into an abusive home where he was taught that he could never leave because of the debt he owed them and that everything bad that happened was his fault. Then, as an adult, he was shamed for doing whatever he could to survive and protect his loved ones, even by his own family. He tried everything he could to save everyone and be the good guy because that was his job, in his mind. He had to save everyone and be righteous, but he also wants to, which is what makes him such a fundamentally good person. Then, when he does an objectively good thing and saves innocent people—which is what he's been taught to do his whole life, by the whole cultivation world—he's condemned for it, society telling him, "No, not those innocent people. You can only save the innocents we tell you to; otherwise, you're a villain." He tries everything to be good, to take care of those he cares about, does everything he's told, and fails.
Because he was doing the very thing cultivators prided themselves on, he was pushed off the edge. Even after he comes back and his name is cleared, it's never quite the same, because everyone still associates him with the "Evil" Yilling Laozu who haunted their cautionary tales. Because the cultivation world deemed him unclean and evil, Wei Ying—barely an adult at the time—was pushed to death because he tried to save innocents who deserved to live.
The saddest thing of all is that he never defends himself. He'd defend the Wen Remnants and keep the Yin Tiger Tally out of the hands that would abuse it, but he never once tried to defend his own actions regarding demonic cultivation and why he uses it. He lets people assume the worst of him because he thinks he deserves it.
Jiang Cheng:
Okay, here's a complicated one! I'd like to start this with a message to all the Jiang Cheng haters and stans who claim that Jiang Cheng is purely good/bad and that the other is selectively reading the text: Congratulations, you're both reading the text selectively. Jiang Cheng is a complex characters who makes bad decisions and good decisions and has reasons for most of his actions, just like any well-developed character.
Jiang Cheng is perhaps the most tragic of all the characters. He was happy until Wei Ying came into the picture, and he had to adjust to another sibling in the house. Then his mother started to push him to be better than Wei Ying when he really doesn't want to, but he has to want it, because he can't afford to lose the love his mother gives him when his father ignores his existence exept for an occasional dissapointed glance. He has to show him as well, then he'll love both of them the same. His mother starts to double down on both Wei Ying and him, alienating them further, leaving Jiang Cheng isolated from most of his peers. He only had Wei Ying and Jiang Yanli, and maybe Nie Huaisang. That, along with the poor emotional processing he copied from his mother, causes him to drift further away from others his age and become more attached to Wei Ying, as he's his only friend at this point. He never learned how to properly socialize as a child, and doesn't see the point now, because Wei Ying promised to never leave. Another tragic part of Jiang Cheng is that I don't think he realized how he was trying to chain Wei Ying to him and Lotus Pier. I truly think that he was just desperate and lonely and didn't think about how their promise would affect Wei Ying's life.
When Wei Ying leaves with the Wen Remnants, Jiang Cheng was angry, confused, and terrified of losing Wei Ying, so much so that he was ready to take him back by force. I think that if circumstances had allowed it, he would've taken the Wen Remnants to Yunmeng just to get Wei Ying back because he's his only friend, the only one he has left after Yanli marries out.
I think a lot of Jiang Cheng's character is created from his crippling fear of being alone because he's never had to be before and it terrifies him. Madam Yu, as I explained earlier, was not a good emotional role model and only taught him to mask all of his other emotions and express everything through anger, which makes him come across as rude and asshole-y to others. Often, I see "Jiang Cheng character development" portrayed as Wei Ying learning to read into his anger, but that is NOT character development. Character development is having that man learn to express emotions other than rage and hate. Let him learn to show sadness, happiness, love, fear, all the things! Wei Ying shouldn't have to learn how to read his shouting, and Jiang Cheng should learn how to Emotion properly. This obviously wouldn't be an easy process, but it is something he could do if he pushed himself to, with the help of his family and friends.
Jiang Yanli:
Okay, so first of all, Jiang Yanli is our queen here, okay? I've seen people portray her as more on Wei Ying's side, or more on Jiang Cheng's side, or absent like Jiang Fengmian, and (in my opinion) that is Incorrect. Jiang Yanli is the glue that holds her family together. There is a reason they stayed together for so long, and it was Yanli. I see her as the eldest daughter who sees all the cracks in her family and tries desperately to fix them and put the pieces back together. Siblings suffering from a lack of a positive parental figure? Okay, she'll be the parental figure. An arranged marriage that will help her sect and make her mother happy with her (for once)? Alright, sure. A nephew or niece will surely bring her brothers together. She is also such a tragedy because she never once complains about having to do so much work to keep her family together. She just smiles and makes more soup and tries her best to mediate her brothers' latest argument. She's constantly fixing, mending, mediating, giving advice, and making her brothers smile, and it never shows. She had to give up her childhood to parent her brothers, and she never even mentions it. She gives her brothers both unconditional love and support and hopes it's enough. She may not understand everything they do, but she loves them and will never let them forget it. She tried so hard to keep her family together, and it wasn't enough. It might've been, if she had survived, but even then, Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying were already pretty at odds. Honestly, the most impressive thing about her is how she managed to be the perfect, loving, caring shijie to Jiang Cheng and Wei Ying without much parental guidance herself. Madam Yu was never happy with her and ignored her most of the time, and I assume Jiang Fengmian was her main parent until Wei Ying came into their lives and he diverted all his attention to him, which she never held against Wei Ying. She is one of the kindest, gentlest characters in mdzs, yet also one of the strongest.
So, that's my take on the Jiang Family! Remember this is just my opinion and take on these characters, and some of this is pure inference and educated guess, as we don't have a lot of canon evidence for what Jiang Fengmian and Yu Ziyuan's marriage pre-Wei Ying, and we also don't have a lot of info on the Jiang Family from pre Wei Ying and from when they were children, so I tried my best to fill in the gaps.
Hope you liked this! It's like 2 am where I am rn and I'm exhausted, so sorry if this doesn't make sense lol! I promise I'm still working on Chapter Four of my Yilling Wei Sect AU, I just took a break to write this cause I needed to get it out of my brain. I may do the other main sect families later this week too!

Hi, how are you?...
I want to say that I'm obsessed with your game that I become dedicated to it
And i want to ask you some questions but I'm really sorry i know they are alot and probably pretty annoying. If any of my questions bothered you please feel free to skip. And if there's any kind of spoiler, i don't mind any. And thank you for your beautiful game.
1_ What would happen if the LI discover that the MC is actually a killer, psycho?
2 _ How our relationship with LI would be if MC is gold digger? Like how are they gonna look at us or treat us?
3_ ✨✨This one is the most important to me. I know this is wierd one, But I don't really get how the LI is supposed to be a yandere? I love yandere characters and I know what is a yandere, but my point is i don't understand what makes them a yandere. They are attached to us but they don't act like how a yandere would act. . I can see Vin as a little bit yandere. But the others, not really. Especially Crux, from my own perspective I see him as someone who only have interest in Mc but not enough to make him a yandere, and you mentioned before that he doesn't mind having a poly relationship, so I don't really get what makes them a yandere?
4_ What will happen if Crux saw that MC looks like him in the personality, Her personality is similar to his and may be worse than him a little bit, like crazy strong smart bitch but not mad bitch ?
5_ I would love to know how big th LI's ass😇? And how would they act if Mc kept touching and grabbing it?
6_ does Mc know she's in omegaverse?
💕I really want to thank you for answering my questions, And please if any question sound a bit wierd like 🧐😳🤨🫥 , sorry. And I know they're kinda 🤨 but it's not my fault, It's the games, books fault. Not me. And also there's more questions I would love to ask but I'm kinda embarrassing 🫣, I already asked you a lot . Sorry if there anything wrong with my English.
Vin and Crux would think that's great. Black would (need more information) but it's not a dealbreaker.
The concept of golddigging anyone but Crux is funny to me. I guess you can do a Bonny and Clyde style crime duo with Vin, but Black's staunchly anti-capitalist and hates money, LMFAO.
Every time someone asks me this one, I'm like "Explain what you expect a yandere is like" and it's crickets in my inbox. The closest to an explanation I got was like "Yandere, you know, like the other guys!? You know what this means!?" Anons, I'm 30 years old and I grew up with a very different type of yandere in anime... Usually that sort of thing is revealed way, way late in the piece of media as a surprise twist and something that's developed. Which has always been my plan???
He'd think that's hot.
Vin and Black have huge asses, Crux has cardboard.
Guys... Check the timestamp of the Omegaverse post lmaooo

The amount of hanging plotlines make me think that Amano is probably not planning to end it here, but the sales is kinda low so she was forced to end it. Also, it could be that she doesn't wanna write this series anymore. Idk what's true, however. But still... The amount of chapters should have been enough for some Totomaru character development, or just a semblance of a backstory even. If your name is not Ron, fuck you. I guess. Heck, even Ron's writing got... Stilted. So I'm really leaning on she doesn't wanna write this anymore.

how genderbending the warriors (2024) is done not for the sole sake of "bad-assery"
okay here we go feminist ramble time for our newest chick on the block: warriors. now i'll be honest, prior to listening to the album, when i first heard that the warriors main girls were originally dudes in the movie and the novel, i thought that the decision for the genderbending, in lmm's perspective, were from the following: 1.) girl power move in like a very basic meaning of the word "bad-ass" 2.) simply a twist on a cult movie about big gang bros loved by the film bros, and 3.) a way to have the schuyler sisters back together gjfkdfldf
but when i read more about warriors and its development and how lmm took inspiration from the gamergate controversies of 2014-2015 aka among the peak of gamerbro misogyny campaigns, that's when i realized that Oh Shit Is Serious - because adapting a story about a group being framed and targeted and harassed for something they are accused of doing without any substantial proof other than a man screaming "THE WARRIORS SHOT CYYYYRUUS" with 21st century misogyny campaigns in mind makes the theme of fighting back a lot more complicated and a lot more resonant, going beyond just marketing a cast you can call "badass"
take the hurricanes' quiet girls, for example. the hurricanes (concept album version) is the only gang that lets the warriors off the hook and with a stern warning: quiet girls don't make it home. here, the hurricanes berate the warriors for not saying shit or attempting to defend themselves from accusations they know well aren't true. THIS MESSAGE IN PARTICULAR is what stays and influences ajax, fox, and swan til the very end of their stories.
literally one song after this does ajax show how easily she resonated with the hurricanes' lesson by finally sticking with her gut and actually choosing to fight back against both the baseball furies AND against the sleazy undercover cop. the latter encounter is one of the instances that really solidifies the recontextualization of the story because in the OG movie, ajax (a dude) WAS the sleazy fuck up harassing a woman in a park - and now with the literal character switch, ajax goes from being just a rebellious gangbro dude bro into someone whose want to fight is warranted. such a want to fight is seen in fox seeing as fox is the first to comment on the quiet girls scene and that, in the concept album, she is the one that instigates the rumble against the police in union square - saying that she is sick of being afraid of them and their 'fuckin powder blue' colors (also notice how she is the only warrior that really does say fuck the cops i think that's cool BUT I'LL TALK ABOUT FOX MORE NEXT TIME)
to a less obvious extent, swan also gets the receiving end of this recurring theme - by the album's finale, the usually violence-averse caution-first interim leader becomes a lot fiercer in protecting her crew. but perhaps among what i consider to be the biggest recontextualized change in the feminist sense is MERCY and her motivations to join the warriors in the first place. according to the wiki, her attraction to swan and the warriors and um seeing the orphans as wimps is what led her to switch sides BUT IN THE CONCEPT ALBUM, mercy's motivation to become a warrior is deepened, rooted in admiration rather than attraction - wanting to be like those women who hold their head up high. and again, we see this in Sick of Runnin' when she takes part in the rumble, finding her bravery within their ranks as they fight back. here, mercy becomes less of a swan tagalong and more of someone that wants what the warriors have: pride.
of course now that i type this out i realize that warriors is not based solely on the feminist rhetoric as with their theme of hope amidst adversity, the story is more intersectional and rooted in community struggle and wanting for more than that. but nonetheless, i genuinely believe that the twt filmbros arguments on why the genders should not have been changed in the first place just for "woke" points is kinda like,,,very shortsighted because not only does the narrative of women narrowly escaping unwarranted accusations actually fucking fit, but the act of learning to fight back amidst all odds - be it that of disbelieving, predatory men or the power of oppressive pigs - stays resonant for women yesterday, today, and the days to come.
ultimately, warriors (2024) is not solely a tale of female badassery - rather, it is a tale of the need for such "female badassery" in the face of past and present realities, which is why it somehow fucking worked.

i think every game that makes flying the focus (and theres veeery few of those) should have a map with a lot of verticality to it. Yes we all wanna fly a dragon over a vast landscape but when youre high up everything is indistinguishable, the sky is empty, and that gets boring real quick. A flying game should have verticality in a way that lets you explore heights that are really high and places on the map that are overlaid with each other would feel more alive and give you so much more space to work with. In a way, itd be like the inverse of the subnautica map. The original map was amazing because it made the ocean feel so huge. "What do you mean theres five biomes underneath the earth?? what do you mean theres just vast caves under here?" and everything felt super interconnected too. There should be more things in the sky than just you too. Enemies, prey, companions.... etc.
my fave flying game is called 'aer memories of old' and it doesnt really have that verticality but its a good flying game imo because its got a map thats so rewarding to explore, there is a PURPOSE to flying around just beyond what the game wants you to do. The lore of the world is out there for you to find and piece together, and the map is filled with life and details. And recently theres been an uptick in developers trying to make flying dragon games but none feel like flying has any purpose at all other than be really showy and yeah it looks awesome but without a purpose for flying its gonna get boring for the player!!
"This is the dragon game you've always wanted" and its another purposeless multiplayer mmorpg with an insanely huge completely empty map and they focus so much on the five fucking billion dragon cosmetics (and god forbid theyre all free btw) instead of making a game that is fun to play and just put the responsibility of having fun on the shoulders of the player. "omg u can make any dragon in this game the models look so cool!!" ok but what about the game. can you tell me if you game is fun? is there anything to do? oh, just material gathering shit and crafting? and an mmo where you have to play with others for there to be any semblance of life in the world? ok
idk im just sick of seeing games advertised as a dragon survival game where the only survival aspect is like. 'find food' 'find water' 'find a mate to have an egg' repeat. repeat. repeat. surely theres other things?? what about migration? territorial disputes? becoming the apex predator? being a local tyrant or a benevolent protector? there is so much that could be done with dragons but all every dev wants to dip their ass in is multiplayer nonsesne with the most basic hunger and thirst and a basic as fuck combat mechanic and call it survival so that people can choose to kill each other. its so lazy

Something Extraordinary
historical platonic-romcom
an aromantic woman tired of feeling unworthy when the people closest to her leave her behind for romance, and a gay man in unrequited love who is planning on giving up and marrying a woman in misery and drunkenness
she kidnaps him the day before the marriage to stop him ruining his life, suggesting that they get platonically married instead - and on the ridiculous journey to scotland to elope, they have to convince each other if it’s what is best for them, and what they want out of life/love/and friendship
#something extraordinary#alexis hall#aroaessidhe 2025 reads#aromantic books#platonic-romcom that really delves into the characters and their relationship and it’s JUST what I crave so much#it’s the kind of aromantic narrative I want more of.#Someone who’s (mostly) content in their identity AND the narrative actively discusses and explores amatonormativity and being aro#(rather than just internalised arophobia; or aro but it’s barely part of the narrative)#I have read the first book in this trilogy and it was okay but not really my vibe; I skipped the second because of this.#I realise belle has some background development in that one but. well#I think this third book as the conclusion of her arc has the most important part of it to me#I appreciate how well this managed to have them both at separate points have to convince the other that eloping is a good idea#really digging into their characters and not feeling completely like ridiculous back and forth#(though of course it’s pretty ridiculous in many ways being the kind of book it is)#it’s very heavy on the witty regency banter which is fun to an extent but there’s a bit much for me - I guess I knew this going in#The pacing at the end is a bit weird with multiple timeskips.#I feel like it could have padded that out a little more and removed some of the earlier bits#Some of those parts like re: his parents felt like they could have used a bit More to them.#I also appreciate the ‘fuck you for planning to punish yourself by getting married to a woman without thinking about#what that’s like for her’ from MULTIPLE women lmao#aro woman x gay man friendships are very important to me. good dynamic.#anyway. did make me cry aromantically

despite not feeling like illario should be a parent or mentor figure to absolutely anyone at all. and of course lots of media has done "unhappy mentor to a young child that ends up getting attached". but have we all considered the idea of illario finding a fledgling that's been tossed aside or had their house stripped from them, sees his failure reflected back at him . right . and before he knows what he's doing and against his better judgement and his arrogance and his pride, illario brings them into house dellamorte. to start it's just to piss off caterina. give it about a month and he'll start projecting his own desire to succeed and since he can't rise above his own humiliation then this fledgling HAS to. and then he gets attached. and then during particularly gruelling and horrible crow training, illario reminds himself of caterina. right then and there he would have to decide if he can stomach turning into her, or if he can finally begin to understand the unconditional love that lucanis has always felt towards him
