Carry On Countdown | Day Fifteen: Familiar

This year I decided I wanted to honor the incredibly talented fic writers of this fandom, so I chose one fic per prompt to do an illustration for. I didn’t double up on authors so that I could do this for as many people as possible. I realized while planning this that there are way too many fics and authors that I love, and even after having picked 30 of what I consider some of my very favorites, I could have easily kept going. Please check the fics out if you haven’t, they all come highly recommended.

Gosh aren’t they gorgeous tho ♥ Especially the latest and largest, though I have to give all the credit to the paper on that one haha, it’s stunning IRL, I could almost stare at the gold lattice forever rather than read, but I’m so happy with how it turned out between the pages as well!

My Drinking Game as another test run, I got the spacing how I wanted it! Yay! It’s so much handsomer and less cramped! Also I gotta say, if it wasn’t such a large usage of paper, this would be my ideal way of checking for typos - I found a couple after setting it down to ink lol, they’ve been fixed now at least ♪ Paired here with the emerge, transformed three-parter, one of my all-time-favourites <3 I reread it the night I finished it and cried again, a little bit of tender mercy always wrecks me hhhh ♥ There are so many beautiful evocative lines! I’m so happy to hold it ♪ And as you can see above, that was the one that got the cute little ghost dust jacket :D

Another test run of what I’m calling volume 1 of my Vargas Drabbles lol, so not including Have you lost your mind? since that one’s currently unfinished. I do fully intend to print it once it’s done tho :3c Hopefully that one will cause me fewer problems! I hate measuring, so I may have flubbed two covers before finally getting this one into good enough shape XP And my red yarn is still in storage so >.> Did I go purchase another ball of red yarn? I’ll never tell. You can’t tell me it doesn’t look great as a bookmark tho <3

And my current happiest! Ah!! It turned out fantastic on all counts! The cover paper obviously, as I couldn’t Not lead with that, but also the size of the spine and the way the pages settled against each other while glueing - I used a different type of paper for this one and I think I’m completely converted over, it feels amazing to work with. Whatever I was using before had to have been like 15lbs lol, I’m literally just using normal 20lb printer paper but it feels and looks and behaves so much nicer <3 The size of Helix also allowed for a slightly larger bookmark, which was perfect because we had this soft gold ribbon that was all of a couple millimeters wider than the other ribbons/yarn I’d been using, and it looks so so so pretty with the gold detailing!! I’ve put it between Ch. 1 and 2 and getting to see the actual physical size differences of the chapters is so fun ♥

I don't know. It's been a while since I'm genuinely emotionally invested in a videogame before.

Colony management is the real Horror of the game. All of them make me feel sick to my stomach but some of them make me laugh hysterically as well.

The way it's presented also enhance the horror for me. Oh this is countless humans' suffering in abstraction that I am signing as business project......I feel ill. But then I also get to sell indulgence papers to people in my colony? That's hilarious let's gooo

Oh, I call her just about anything under the sun! Babe, Sweetheart, Darling, anything goes! For goofier names, it's usually about 67% genuine and 33% to make her roll her eyes at me! Recently I've somehow started going *Borat voice* 'Mai Wife' and she thinks it's soooooo funny! I love herrrrrr!!!

Ah, I tend to use more traditional petnames. Dear, Darling, stuff like that. 'Honey' finds itself in use somewhat infrequently. I've also, ah, started picking up habits from friends, and so occasionally I'll call it 'Sugar'

13. (what physical features stand out?)

HER PAAAAAAWS! HER CUTE LIL PAWS!!!!! Like, okay hear me out. as cute as her drowsy eyes, round ears, and pointed snout are, her paws are where it's at! first of all, they're cute and small, as previously discussed.

but SECONDLY, they are so so skilled. The way she deftly sews a piece of fabric feels like magic! It's like watching a wizard bring a creature to life. And her paws are always a bit scuffed, a rough from caring for her younger siblings, and just lookin' at em you can tell what kind of animal she is inside: hardworking, dutiful, and loyal! And that's why i love her paws.

Hm... Well, I'd like to say your eyes. They're very kind, and wiser than your demeanor suggests.

But truthfully? It's your tail. That distinctly canine feature... I can always tell just how you're feeling. I mean, yes it's a beautiful tail, you have a very thick and luxurious coat, but it's more about how you express yourself with it.

I don't think I've ever told you this, but when you were first coming into the shop, I could tell how happy you were to be talking with me. You were never curt or impolite to Mable, but it was only once I started opening up to you that your tail started wagging! It made me feel very... seen, I suppose. Appreciated. And now that we're together, it still makes me feel that way, because I can see your tail wag furiously when we see each other!

Jumping around like a happy little man, I have watched three more Takarazuka shows in the past two weeks (doubling my list) and I'm so happy... Getting into this thing was the best decision of my LIFE!!!!!

i went to a state fair today!!!!!!!! god it was really fun. i didnt buy much but i got a cute cat necklace + a knitted squid keychain..... also my whimsy and charming aura won out so much that i literally got a little terrarium that one of the stalls was using as decoration. for free. (the lady running the stall said it was because she didnt want to bring it home with her.. i just think its kinda funny that she chose me in particular. because she wasnt like actively offering to people. it seemed like she just kinda realized she didnt want it and gave it to me instead lol. i am just sososo charming <3 people love me <3 <3)

SEPTEMBER WRITING GOALS & AUGUST SUMMARY!

[ It’s a new month! Who is excited?? August was amazing, I loved it! I wrote a lot more than I did the other months. I ended up at 52.000 words, just shy of my 55k goal. For comparison, the month that I’ve done the second most writing is May, when I wrote 23k. I actually did not complete any of my goals, but still I made such huge progress and I worked on all the goals ( even if I didn’t complete any ). So It’s all good! I probably needed a ‘ warm up month ‘, since I haven’t been doing writing goals for over a year. I’m working on sending more asks too! I sent 70 asks this month, when my goal was 100. People are so kind to me ( I received over 100 asks fjsdjfjd ) so I definitely wanna work on that! 

Here are some goals I’ll try to complete this month. Both writing and rp-goals, including writing across all my blogs, personal projects, and writing on discord.

55 000 words in total.

20 000 words for Nnoitra.

Send 100 asks.

Make more icons for Byakuya.

Make more icons for Shinji.

Set up Shinji’s blog so that it’s no longer dash-only.

Set up Nnoitra’s Shinigami!AU.

Write an in-detail storyboard for my novel.

Double the word-count on my novel ( 4k ).

Finish writing chapter 3 on my Star Wars OC story.

Continue working on the storyboard for my original crime-story.

Set up a schedule for replying to discord threads ( I am too forgetful ).
