watched 6 hours of cartoons with a close good friend and this is what happened.

"The real me is completely different from Wei Zhiyuan. Our personalities, the way we think, they're all very different," says Kurt Huang, who's been described as a "typical leo" by those around him.

Although he seems like the silent and dark type, Kurt Huang actually has a bright and straightforward personality. Since he was young, he has always been very "open" in that he expresses his feelings directly, is very straightforward with his words, and is incapable of pretending. This realness helped him gain popularity through variety shows. But for his acting work, which is what he loves the most, this realness made portraying characters all the more challenging.

Kurt Huang has long known that he's unable to "play" a character. Therefore, whenever he gets a role, he transforms into that character from head to toe. Instead of relying on his imagination or trying to figure out the character so that he can play the role, he lets himself become that person, to give the rawest reactions from a first-person perspective. He explains, "Wei Zhiyuan is someone who does not easily show his feelings, but I couldn't simply be expressionless or wear the exact same expression all the time! So I had to truly "become him" to know how he'd feel and act in each situation." 

In addition to his complete understanding of his character's personality, he also has high work standards and pays a lot of attention to detail, so that he can portray the role as accurately as possible. For instance, he carefully considered how he as a 26-year-old could express the pure emotions of a teen boy as well as the unique brotherhood that's portrayed in the show. He explained, "Many might think that Wei Zhiyuan's feelings for his brother are like that of a family member or a significant other. But that isn't the case. He was abandoned at a young age with no one to rely on, so his brother became his whole world. It's an important difference."

You can read a script thoroughly to thoroughly understand the character, but letting yourself truly become that character in the flesh, is a much greater challenge. In the past, Kurt Huang would find the similarities between his character and himself and use that as a starting point. However, this time round, he wasn't able to find any similarities between Wei Zhiyuan and himself as he doesn't have siblings and is an open book, so what was he to do? Two months before shooting started, he began implementing what he termed as an "extremely twisted" method: to lock his human interaction- and outdoor-loving self at home, and force himself to be still.  

During this time, he was in his room every day taking character notes, which filled eight pieces of A4-sized paper. He also shared that in order to better understand his character's emotional journey, he wrote about all of Wei Zhiyuan's "firsts," such as the first time he touched Qian and the first time he called Qian by his name. In his view, these are the moments that really made Yuan's heart flutter, and doing all this helped him better get into the role.

He can talk about this lightly now, but Kurt recalls that going through that period of repression was very difficult, and at one point he even felt as if he couldn't take it any longer. As he continued to live in Yuan's inner world, even his mother got worried. To make his portrayal as realistic as possible, he continued to live like this once filming started, even when the cameras weren't rolling. "Once we finished filming, I started filming another project and was finally able to pull myself out of this mindset. But when we started promotions (for Unknown), initially, I didn't really want to think back to that time as it was very very hard. But my manager encouraged me and said that thinking about that time and talking about it could be therapeutic in a way, and that helped me find the courage to talk about it."

I gotta say, one of the many reasons I love The Owl House is just how well they do sibling dynamics. Like,

These two. On their own they each could be considered functioning adults (generously speaking), but put them in the same room together and they immediately revert back to teenagers.

On top of being comedy gold, these three are the most relatable and accurate portrayal of siblings I've recently seen in media.

Look at this, pretty sure this could be an exact photo of me and my own sister on any given day.

wtf is up the weird portrayal of werewolves in pop media?⁉️

i think it would be so so so cool to see some werewolf novel like ACTUALLY based off wolf pack behavior, instead of whatever weird sexualized idea the medias turned it into. an actual wolf pack would never be able to function with like a billion alphas constantly attacking each other for females attention. animals fhat fight to mate don’t even do that. wolves wouldn’t have survived as long as they have if this weird concept we have shoved onto them was actually accurate.

wolves RARELY fight within a pack, and are incredibly social animals. majority of wolf fights happen over territory, and within neighboring packs, though they avoid confrontation or aggression with other wolves when necessary. they’re actually pretty goddamn intelligent too, they’re actually better at independent problem solving than dogs. they know not to mate with siblings or offspring to avoid inbreeding and just overtime mutation.

this weird idea that a werewolf would be a secluded horn dog that wants nothing but a mate is not only weird but wildly inaccurate. wolves are pack animals, and so are humans. lone wolves will occasionally attempt to join other packs even.

if there was a werewolf in your neighborhood they’d probably be those super friendly neighbors who are always throwing parties and bbqs and have like 10 kids with like half of them being adopted. they’d be at every sports game or band concert, with the bleachers filled out by this one massive family. wolves mate to breed, in other words they mate to have children, to start families. wolf packs are literally just families.

werewolves would be the family with like 10 goddamn kids always rough housing, with a billion pictures on the fridge and family photos and shitty framed art from when the kids were puppies all over the walls.

there’s too much of the stereotypical alpha wolf claiming some poorly written female protagonist and attacking members of his own pack for her. what about werewolf packs with adopted kids they’ve claimed as theirs? kids friends being treated like members of the family, and so many school prizes and pictures all over the walls no matter how old they are. magic using kids who’s parents can’t handle it, or queer kids who have been kicked out being picked up by them. queer werewolves. werewolf kids with a friend from an unwanted family being unofficially adopted by the pack. so many dog jokes. werewolves working at daycares, as doctors, werewolves living normal human lives with no weird hypermasculine stuff going on. werewolf packs having their plans center around the next full moon, treating it like some anual holiday where they all go out for the night. non werewolf kids never being left out on full moon nights. non wolf kids riding on the transformed adults backs, dog pulled sleds in the winter. the bathroom smelling kinda like a wet dog, with fur in the drain. paw print vs hand print art made by pups framed and hung around the house. a wall dedicated just to measuring their pack of kids height. werewolves falling for humans and just snuggling up with them during full moon nights. domestic werewolf lives‼️

Everything I know about the royals comes from Tumblr memes and one bonus episode of a totally unrelated podcast but now I'm morbidly curious, so: what's up with William? And the Middletons? Or if that's a longer story than you want to explain, do you have recommendations for where to read about this that is likely to be fairly accurate?

I don't have any facts I just have pure fucking speculation if that's okay. :)

Like I've been saying for a long-ass time the one thing I absolutely LOVED about The Crown was its portrayal of generational trauma. It very skillfully showed how being a shitty husband who cheats on his wife and treats his kids like garbage was passed down from Prince Andrew of Greece and Denmark to Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh to King Charles and then to Prince William. Hell, it probably started long before that but holy shit THE CYCLE OF DYSFUNCTION AND ABUSE BE REPEATING ITSELF.

And if you really want to dig into it, well.... I think he and Harry followed a pattern that a LOT of siblings of bitter and messy divorce fall into, one kid sides with the mom, one with the dad. It's been said a LOT that Harry was Diana's favorite son, so it probably started with that. And OF COURSE William is gonna side with Charles because well... he's the heir. They have that shared trauma.

And then there's the way the whole "heir and spare" thing absolutely perverts any relationship they might have had as brothers. Charles managed to have a decent relationship with his siblings, I think, because first of all, Anne was a girl, and then Andrew and Edward were significantly younger than him and Anne, so there wasn't this unnaturally massive imbalance of power between them. One of the reasons I've come to believe the monarchy should be abolished is because of how badly it damages the structure of a family in a way that no one should have to deal with.

I think Diana might have been able to guide William into being a better person if she'd have lived, but idk. It may be wishful thinking. His relationship with her became kind of strained when he was a teenager and she was going on TV to tell the whole fucking world about her sex life. I think Diana did the right thing exposing the family like she did, but I can also understand how a 13 year old boy would be absolutely humiliated by that.

THEN there's the whole way he was a MASSIVE heartthrob as a teenager, and was intensely sexualized for it. Like it will absolutely mess with you when you have girls screaming and throwing themselves at you when you're still trying to figure your own sexuality out. It will also massively inflate your ego and convince you that the whole world loves you and there's nothing you can do wrong.

as for his relationship with Kate. She's much harder to pin down because she hasn't spent her entire fucking life in the spotlight, and the Middletons are sill granted a certain degree of privacy that the Windsors aren't. I don't think they're as absolutely fucked up as Diana's family was but I still definitely think her mom was a major driving force behind her staying with William.

I think there actually was some initial mutual attraction and that they may have even actually been in love. Buuuut then he waited ten years to propose to her, during which he cheated and they broke up and got back together. Honestly, I don't know what Kate's damage was with all of that, whether or not she was able to convince herself that William wouldn't be another shitty husband, or if she was willing to put up with his bullshit if it meant she would be queen.

Diana was more or less picked out as a bride for Charles because it was assumed that she would be a meek and beautiful wifey who never caused any problems. I mean, she was 19 and he was 32 for fuck's sake. She very much wanted to be queen. BUT what everyone wasn't counting on was that Diana would *gasp* have some serious emotional needs. She was deeply traumatized by her own parents' incredibly bitter divorce, overwhelmed and deeply lonely in her position as princess, and on top of that, suffering from bulimia and then post-natal depression. She needed love and support and Charles spent the whole marriage balls deep in Camilla.

Kate had a much more stable upbringing and had more than a few months to get to know both William and what her role as a princess would be. Ultimately, the vibe I get from her is that she's willing to be the perfect meek beautiful wifey who puts up with William's bullshit if it means she can be royal, which is exactly what Diana was supposed to be.

And I don't mean that to knock or belittle her. She's good at it. She looks incredibly happy when she's doing that. It's her career. It's an exchange I can actually really understand making, especially when your only other prospects involved working for your parents' party company.

But I could be extremely wrong about all of this Maybe she's absolutely miserable but she feels like she has no other options and worried about losing her kids and is terrified of what happened to Diana. It's hard to know, and I wish The Crown would have at least committed to *something* rather than just brushing all of this off.

     “We have one last gift for you, Lilah,” my mom says, handing me an envelope. I grab it from her, tearing it open. I look inside and drop it in shock. Multiple paddock passes fall out of it. 

     “Oh my god! You didn’t!!” I shout, picking them up. I see passes for multiple races. 

     “Since Logan is in Formula 1 now, we got you two passes for every race in North America but Las Vegas. We figured this would be a Christmas, birthday, and graduation present all wrapped into one,” my dad says.

     “Thank you so much! This, this is amazing,” I grin. I launch myself at my parents in a hug. They laugh and hug me back. I do a little happy dance, before grabbing the passes. I inspect them, grinning. 

     “We figured you’d take Tucker to at least one race,” my mom says. 

     “I will probably take him to every race, considering you guys don’t like watching it,” I shrug. My parents nod, and my siblings make noises of agreement. I set my passes down, grabbing my phone to call Tucker. 

     “Merry Christmas!” He greets me. 

     “How would you like to go to four Formula 1 races this year?” I ask, not bothering to greet him. The line goes silent. “Tucker?” I prompt him. 

     “Are you serious?” He shrieks in my ear. I pull my phone away from my ear, wincing. 

     “Yes, I’m serious. My parents got me two passes to almost every race in North America this year,” I tell him, grinning. 

     “Yes! YES! I would love to go!” He yells, causing me to pull my phone away from my ear again. “Where do we sit at each of them?!” He asks, excited. 

     “They’re paddock passes,” I explain. I pull my phone away again, knowing he’s about to yell again. 

     “HOLY SHIT, LILAH! TELL YOUR PARENTS I LOVE THIS SO FUCKING MUCH!” He screams. I turn to my parents, and they’re covering their laughter. 

     “We love you too, Tucker,” my mom calls out to him. 

     “I’ve got to go now, Lilah, but we will be discussing details of this later,” Tucker says. 

     “Sounds good. Merry Christmas, Tucker,” I say. He wishes me a merry Christmas before hanging up. I grab the passes to go put them somewhere safe. 

     I sprint down the stairs to thank my parents again. “Thank you again!” I hug them again. 

     “Of course, we want you to get every chance you can to meet Logan, so we thought this would be good,” my mom says. My dad nods in agreement. 

     I smile at them before starting to mess around with the new camera lens they got me.

Miami GP

5 months 24 days

     “I can’t believe we’re actually in Miami to watch a Formula 1 race,” Tucker says, his head going every which way as we enter the paddock. My head is also turning every which way, trying to see everything I can.

     “I can’t believe it, too. Come on! Let’s go look at the hospitalities!” I grab his arm, dragging him towards where you can see the hospitalities. We spend the next 10 minutes looking into as many hospitality windows as possible. “This is so cool!”I laugh happily. 

     Tucker sees something and takes off. “Come on, Lilah!” He shouts over his shoulder. We’re in front of the Williams hospitality. I linger, not wanting to leave. I know that there’s still basically 6 months until I meet Logan, but I’m hopeful that I’ll still get a glimpse of him in person before then. “Lilah, let’s go! I want to get some Ferrari merch before it sells out!” Tucker calls out to me. 

     “I’m coming, I’m coming!” I say, turning to follow him. I take off after him, not looking back at Williams hospitality. I catch up with him and we head towards the area selling merch. “I want to grab some Williams merch,” I say, when we arrive. We split up in the store to go to the different team sections. I grab a Logan hat and a Williams jacket and head towards the check out. Tucker appears behind me, and I laugh when I see his arms loaded with Ferrari merch. “Got enough merch?” I snicker. 

     “No, I need you to hold these for me,” he says, a serious look on his face. My jaw drops in shock, before he breaks out in laughter. “I’m kidding, this is everything,” he says. I nod and we check out. 

     After checking out, we head up to the paddock club. We take a seat just as FP1 starts.

Logan’s POV

1 minutes 12 seconds

     I glance at my wrist and then around the hospitality. My timer says there’s only a minute left until I hear my soulmate's voice, but everyone around me are people I’ve talked to before. The door at the entrance opens, and I look up hopeful. I sigh in disappointment when James Vowels walks through the door. “I’m coming, I’m coming!” I hear a female’s voice say as the door closes. In an instant, I’m out of my seat, pushing past a confused James. My wrist is burning, but I ignore it. I slam the door open and sprint out. My head is whipping in every direction, trying to find the source of the voice. My face falls when I can’t pinpoint who the owner of the voice is. I glance down at my wrist and my face falls even more when I see 5 months and 24 days. 

     I head back inside the hospitality. I spot James and Alex standing at the door, watching me. “What’s the matter?” James asks me. 

     “I heard my soulmate’s voice, but I won't meet her for another 5 months, 24 days, and some hours and minutes,” I sigh. I get looks of pity from both Alex and James. I just shake my head and head downstairs to the garage.

     “Man, what a disappointing race for Logan. To finish last at your home race must hurt,” Tucker sighs, as we walk out of the paddock. 

     “Yeah, I hope he has a good support system of friends to cheer him up,” I nod in agreement. 

     “If only you two had met before, you’re really good at cheering people up,” Tucker says, bumping shoulders with me. I grin, thanking him.

     “No!” I shout when I see Logan’s car pull over to the side of the track. I groan, my head dropping into my hands. 

     “His car was giving off a critical error, so it’s good that he stopped,” Tucker shouts over the crowd of the noise and cars. I nod, letting him know I heard him. 

     “Still sucks though,” I grumble, arms crossed. I sigh and turn my attention back to the race.

COTA

7 days

     “How do you feel knowing you’ve got one week until you meet Logan?” Tucker asks as we lay in our beds at the hotel. 

     “Nervous, but excited. What if he doesn’t like me?” I turn to look at him. 

     “He’ll like you, it’s hard not to,” Tucker scoffs. His phone vibrates and he grabs it. 

    I turn away from him to stare at the ceiling. “Thanks, but can we talk about how amazing he did today?! He finished P12!” I exclaim. 

     “P10,” Tucker says. 

     My head whips toward him, with a confused look on my face. “No, he finished P12.”

     “He may have finished P12, but he’s now P10 because Hamilton and Leclerc were just disqualified,” Tucker tells me, staring at his phone. He turns it towards me and I read the article from Formula 1. 

     “OH MY GOD LOGAN JUST GOT HIS FIRST POINTS IN FORMULA 1!!!” I screech, flying out of bed. I do a little happy dance around the room. Tucker watches me, laughing. He holds his phone up, recording me. I stick my tongue out at him. “Yeah yeah, you can laugh. You’re just the same way when your boyfriend does something you’re proud of,” I wave my hand. 

     “I know,” Tucker grins, “This video is going to Carter.” 

     “Tell him hi for me,” I say, falling onto the bed. 

     “I will,” Tucker responds, typing away on his phone.

Logan’s POV

7 days

     “How do you feel about getting your first points?” Alex sits down across from me on the plane. 

     “Happy, excited,” I respond, grinning. I post the picture I took when learning that I earned points on Instagram. I subconsciously rub my fingers over the timer on my wrist. I notice Alex glancing at it. 

     “How much time is left?” He asks, leaning forward. 

     “7 days,” I breathe out. 

     His eyes widen, “Getting close then. Are you excited?”

     “Very, I’ve been waiting for this for years. But I’m also extremely nervous. What if she doesn’t like me? What if she doesn’t like what I do?” I rhetorically ask. 

     “Well, considering you heard her voice while at the Miami GP, and you meet her during the Mexico GP, I’m going to go with she likes what you do,” he points out. 

     “Yeah, you’re right. But that still doesn’t mean she’ll like me,” I groan, burying my face in my hands. 

     “I doubt she’ll dislike you, you’re a likable guy,” Alex says, putting his hand on my shoulder. “You’ve got this. It’ll be okay.”

     “Thanks, Alex,” I sigh, looking up at him. 

     “Of course,” he nods, getting up to go sit with his girlfriend, Lily. 

     I close my eyes to sleep on the flight to Mexico.

“The Talk” Part Two

Aka What’s THE important conversation they have?

TIGHNARI & COLLEI

“Do you feel safe with me?”

Tighnari has seen the flinches. He knows that Collei didn’t sleep the first couple of weeks she was here, often taking naps during the day after he’d leave for patrol. He started announcing long trips for that very reason.

He’s taken great lengths to become a trustworthy person for Collei, but, months after taking her in, there are still moments that she flinches.

It breaks his heart.

It accumulates one evening when Collei asks for some time alone in her hut, and Tighnari leaves only to return in the morning and see her greet him with her bow ready in hand, as if his routine of checking on her every morning hasn’t ever happened at all.

It begs the question.

Collei, at first, doesn’t react—which Tighnari appreciates. She’s a smart girl; she’s considering her response—not the “correct answer” or even padding down a worse response. She’s simply considering what the truth of his question is.

Her answer? “I will.”

Tighnari can understand that. He will be continue to show her he is only here to protect her, and he hopes, with time, the flinches and weapon-ready greetings will lessen with her growing feeling of safety.

With him by her side all the way.

SHENHE & CHONGYUN

“Are those feelings necessary?”

Shenhe is a bit of a reactionary person. She isn’t reacting based on her emotions—she can’t—but she understands that action gets things done over talking.

Talking is confusing. It can be misconstrued, intentionally or not, and actions are harder to misinterpret.

So when she stumbles upon a crying Chongyun, she readies her spear.

She doesn’t ponder on the implications behind her intense desire to act. She just focuses on who she needs to take action with.

“Who do I need to kill?”

It startles Chongyun.

In the proceeding babble of surprised squeaks of her name and quick protests of “please don’t kill anyone,” she decides she needs to be clear.

He’s crying. Who’s responsible?

“No one” is his answer.

“…Who is this ‘No One’?”

Chongyun explains it like this:

He is crying not because someone has hurt him, not because he is hurt, but because of some feelings that have overwhelmed him in the moment and they just need to pass.

As to what brought on these feelings, Chongyun has little to say except that it is private and has to do with his worth as an exorcist. That there is no human—aside from Chongyun himself, he says—that is cause for his tears today.

Shenhe… doesn’t get it.

So she asks. “Are these feelings necessary?”

Chongyun was clearly stumped by this question, so much so that his tears started to dry from confusion, before he answered plainly, “Yes.”

Feelings need to run their course. Sometimes they just need to be felt.

Shenhe can work with that.

She sits with him after that. He looks tired, but he tells her it has nothing to do with physical sleep. He just needs time.

Again, Shenhe can work with that. She doesn’t know the reason sometimes, but her feet will take her to the mountains after a certain time spent among the crowds of Liyue, and she thinks this is Chongyun’s needed moment in the mountains.

However, she would never have minded a friend beside her during that time, so she stays with Chongyun until he falls asleep on her shoulder.

She takes him to the inn he is staying in and tucks him in afterwards.

DILUC & DIONA

“Isn’t that how fathers are?”

Diona will sometimes stop in at the end of the work night, mostly with the intention of pestering Diluc. She’ll pose questions deigned to undermine Diluc’s business strategies, and then she’ll laugh to herself for any nonresponse or negative from Diluc, like she accomplished a great feat by proving the brewery business is inferior, neglecting the fact that she, herself, is a bartender.

Diluc finds her to be a too-accurate portrayal of the annoying younger sibling.

Still, she’s a kid. He won’t force her out of the tavern, especially so late at night when she tends to enter now and then.

Besides, he thinks she’s just trying to waste time when she visits.

Tonight, she makes a request.

“Hey, stupid! Walk me to Springville!”

Or, rather, a demand.

“No.”

“H-hey! Act like the adult you are!”

The statement raises a brow from Diluc as he asks in return, “Where are your parents?”

And Diona goes mute.

She’s quiet long enough that Diluc throws a glance over at her from where he stretches over the table, cleaning the last of the corner tables in preparation for tomorrow’s opening, and he sees a sad look on Diona’s face that quickly turns to anger when she catches his eye.

“As if you wouldn’t know!”

“I don’t.” Shutting her down quickly usually brings about answers sooner.

“All drunks are the same! You should know better as a fellow alcohol-despiser!”

Drunks are despicable, Diluc agrees quietly, but he thinks there’s a more important part of the conversation that Diona is avoiding. “Is your father home, Diona?”

“Of course he isn’t!” She’s furiously spitting now, pouting, a shine to her eyes that wasn’t there before or that Diluc hadn’t noticed. “Why would he be when a drink to a drunk is too strong a temptation?”

And then her question hits Diluc in his heart.

“‘Isn’t that just how fathers are?’”

Kaeya surprises both of them from where he leans against the tavern’s door. He’s been doing that more often—checking on Diluc after hours.

“Well, Master Diluc?” Kaeya prompts, a smile on his face, knowingly putting him in an impossible situation.

Diluc turns back to Diona, who quickly stops wiping her face.

His father wasn’t like that—Kaeya would know.

And so Diluc thinks. And thinks, and thinks, and thinks to the point Diona gets impatient and drags him out to Springvale so she makes her way home safely.

It isn’t until Diona is just about to leave that Diluc says, “Fathers are fathers; they’re unique to each kid they’re the father of.”

Diona startles, but when she stares back up at him with wide eyes, paying attention, Diluc continues, “So, I think it’s up to you to decide whether your father is right for you.” Diluc pauses. “Sometimes it is good to compare fathers, but only you know how your father acts at home.”

Another pause.

“Tell me if I need to have a ‘sit-down’ with him.”

It doesn’t answer her question. He didn’t help her much. But Diona has been acting like an adult for a long time now; it’s important she feels like one to feel confident enough to speak up about matters like these. And because Diona asked, Diluc can look into the matter himself now.

DEHYA & CYNO & AL HAITHAM

“Do you guys know how much you mean to me?”

When she tells Candace she loves her, it’s different.

There is a fundamental acceptance from Candace that she doesn’t feel from the boys.

Cyno and Al Haitham have never been one for “feelsy” moments, and nor has Dehya for that matter.

But she tries with Candace. Or, rather, tried.

Candace made it clear the first time Dehya threw a punch to her shoulder lovingly that that was not appreciated. Dehya learned fast after that what was appropriate.

The boys are different. Dehya’s lived all her life among large groups of men and with the higher society of Sumeru, and she’s bounces between the right type of affection to show Cyno and Al Haitham.

A thrilling spar only gets her so far. There’s more she wants to say that a blade cannot portray.

It comes out during their usual get-together at Candace’s. It’s been quiet, peaceful up until that moment, but the air was practically suffocating for Dehya, threatening to burst open her chest with the words she couldn’t organize into something sensical to say.

With some not-so-subtle pushes from Candace, Dehya feels the pressure rise and burst forth into words as a loud whistle deafening her ears denies her from hearing her own voice until the bubble pops into silence.

Al Haitham and Cyno are staring at her.

She feels her nerves simmer back to boiling. “Well, geez, guys, it’s not like I haven’t told you this before!”

And as soon as she says it, she realizes that that is true. Her verbal words now just weren’t verbal before.

The punches, the get-togethers—even the sparring that didn’t feel like enough before!—all these actions were their ways of showing love. It was their ‘right’ way of affection.

And now, as Al Haitham turns away with a huff, “Obviously,” and Cyno stands up to ruffle her hair—which she immediately moves to bat his hand away—she hears instead, “You mean a lot to us, too.”

And that’s enough.

zhongli enjoys making you tea late at night. he starts his preparation as you take your time to wind down, taking his pick from a wide selection — perhaps a light, sweet jasmine should suffice for tonight, he thinks. zhongli also enjoys taking his time to clean. whilst his workplace desk may not be an accurate portrayal of his cleaning, your man is usually the one doing the cleaning in the household. cleaning is a purifiying ritual to him — for he knows that he is in control; and out with the old, in with the new. with every sweep comes a new space ready.   

[xiao. | 魈]

xiao likes to cook for you. between his duties of being a yaksha and protecting his home nation of liyue, xiao enjoys flipping through the messily-scrawled notes that smiley yanxiao had shoved into his hands before he left the inn. the yaksha takes pride in his almond tofu, setting the dish down and watching your face light up. as the years go by and the two of you adjust to living together, communal dinners become a norm, with the two of you cooking side by side. xiao doesn’t clean often, but he takes care to do the laundry because he knows that you absolutely despise doing it.

the head of the kamisato clan is not one to claim the kitchen — as much as he’d like to be someone efficient with pots and pans, this man could.. burn water… but nevermind. dinnertimes usually consist of you cooking and him cleaning. (you’re thankful, though. cooking takes a lot out of you and honestly, you can’t imagine cooking for two AND cleaning up.) i’d like to think that ayato is more than happy to assist you with the cleaning as well. the man can literally mop, sweep, dance to dancing queen, and twirl you in his arms at the same time. ayato can be preeetty helpful around the house. 

[k. kazuha | 楓原万葉]

kazuha is actually not too bad at cooking. he’s travelled to liyue a lot with beidou, and so, xiangling and him met and they hit it off right away. he was more than happy to share inazuman cuisine with her and in turn, she taught him different liyuean dishes that quickly turned into the alcor’s favourites. he loves making you dinner, and the dishes on the table are typically a mix of inazuman comfort foods and more extravagant liyuean cuisine. on a good day (pepper him with enough kisses), he may just do the dishes for you too. ;)  

[thoma.]

mr fixer is definitely multi-talented — and both cooking and cleaning is right up his alley. thoma is able to cook a wide range of dishes because of his closeness to the kamisato clan head; meetings with foreign diplomats allow him to practice cooking dishes from wherever they’re from. his favourite dish to cook for you is a classic sweet madame, a favourite comfort food from his hometown of mondstadt. nothing much to say about his cleaning skills, for his title of housekeeper speaks for itself. he loves dancing with you in the living room as the two of you clean. 

[childe.]

since childe has many siblings, he grew up taking care of the household as well. he learnt to cook simple dishes for his siblings, and when they demanded more variety (childe loved them to the point of spoiling…), the ginger started to incorporate more foreign flavours, and he definitely brought it over to your relationship. he absolutely enjoys cooking you dishes from snezhnaya, especially hearty soups and salads. just like ayato, childe is a really good multitasker. years of carrying his siblings on his hip while cooking and cleaning have made it easy for him to talk/give you kisses/hug/dance while cooking and cleaning. more kisses for you :-) <3

[kaeya.]

kaeya hates cooking. he can barely scrape together a kebab, much less a roasted chicken... but if you're free, work alongside him and you just might save your dinner. kaeya enjoys sneaky kisses though, often tapping his cheek for another kiss right after the other. his favourite dishes to make are his usual kebabs (takes less than half an hour) or a satisfying salad (takes ten minutes to put together, or zero if you buy it from good hunter and put it on a plate). kaeya does the cleaning around the house well though, if he has enough time. put him in a maid dress watch him sweep and dust and twirl you around the living room, and suddenly, cleaning isn't so boring anymore.

[diluc.]

diluc actually really enjoys cooking. being the owner of dawn winery means that there are many meetings with foreign investors, most of whom would bring over foods from their homelands in order to win over his favour. some dishes stuck with him more than others, and soon, he was searching for recipes in lisa’s library. he sees food as ways connecting to people — knowing that it brings smiles and content conversations, he always enjoys cooking for you. diluc may not like cleaning, but he sees it as a necessity. he understands that a clean space means a clear mind, and clutter is a distraction to his efficiency. it doesn’t help that he’s always having people over too. but in the end, he really only does it for you. he knows you love clean spaces.

We’d like to start off by apologising for any offence caused by the portrayal of our only trans character, Chris. It was not our intention to play into stereotypes and we fully understand the importance of accurately representing the experiences of transgender individuals.

Chris’ physical attributes were drawn to reflect his personality and life decisions, rather than conforming to a stereotype. Lore-wise, he is currently still transitioning/is new to taking testosterone.

We’d also like to provide some additional context behind Chris’ appearance. While we can’t generalise every transgender person's journey, we designed him with the personal experience of one of our artists — who was in a similar position.

As an elder sibling, they still presented themselves in a somewhat feminine way to not confuse their younger sibling and slowly teach them that people can change in a way that you may not understand, but there will still be recognisable features that keep them, them.

Also, we as a team are not all cis-gendered.

Percy Jackson tv show review (recent episode)

Things I liked:

I really like how they're diving more into Grover's character and allowing him to have the spotlight sometimes. I think it's great.

The actor who plays Sally Jackson is sooo good at playing a mom and I'm so glad they portrayed her the way they did.

As a child of divorced parents and a neurodivergent child and neurodivergent sibling with the same parents, the clip with Sally and Poseidon talking about Percy hit really hard, but it was such an accurate and honest portrayal of what some parents have to deal with because of the world.

I'm glad that kept some of the humor used in the books, in the show. Especially when they interacted with Hades.

The reveal that they had the lightning bolt was displayed very well imo.

Things I didn't like:

Even though I know they don't have time for this, but it still seems a little off whenever Percy knows who people are right away, like in the mattress store.

I missed the "I'm Crusty" "Yeah, you are" joke. Like the show is still good, but it's missing a lot of the humor the series is known for.

Something still feels a little off when watching the show cause the two are pretty different, but I don't what the feeling is alluding too.

Overall the show is still amazing and really well done, there's just a few they miss that they don't really have control over.

Anddddd a quick little thing that people need to be reminded of:

Even though the show isn't entirely book accurate, it's pretty close. People are forgetting that the series is owned by Disney so the episodes have a certain run-time they can't pass and have a limited number of episodes per season. With that in mind, the writers and directors and everyone involved is doing such a good job at portraying the show as close it can get too accuracy with what they're given and told. Disney is the one who hold pretty much all the power to the show, and things are probably getting cut. So, blame Disney for the show not being completely book accurate. Please do not hate on Rick or the writers, or anyone else on board because they are people, with a vision. while Disney is a company and the ones in charge.
