All jokes aside, Americans do owe a seismic debt of gratitude to Jack Smith, especially if it is true (as has been reported) that the DOJ initially slow-walked or stonewalled the investigation into Trump himself (at least until the J6 Committee). He was only appointed to the job last year, and he's already secured indictments for two separate sets of federal crimes, in two different (and wildly politically different) jurisdictions, with felony charges numbering in the dozens. These charges include espionage, conspiracy, obstruction, etc -- aka all the things we saw Trump do in real time, but have been relentlessly brainwashed ever since to try to make us forget that he did.

So it's just... Nice that our collective trauma of 2016-2020 has been legally validated, yknow? That grand juries of private citizens in both DC and Florida, when they actually have to look at the (overwhelming) evidence, do really, empirically agree that the son of a bitch is in fact really fucking guilty. These indictments were not easy to get, we should and must thank Jack Smith for working at speed to get them, and now especially with the trial in DC being assigned to an Obama appointee who won't favor Trump endlessly like Cannon in Florida, there is actually a real chance he goes on trial before November 2024. And while we don't know what will happen, there's no reason to think that Smith and his team will stumble at the last hurdle and somehow fail to secure a conviction. That, especially considering the magnitude of the threats and MAGA rage he has been faced with, takes considerable courage.

And that, all reflexive Dooming and Glooming and endless (and at this point, profoundly inaccurate) moaning that Trump will never see an actual systemic repercussion quite aside, means something. We will still have to deal with his crazed fascist followers, but it's been a string of three high-profile indictments now and nary a peep, far less the promised rioting in the streets. It's almost like bullies are cowards and fold when you challenge them, and that we might actually get through this terrible, terrible time by the skin of our teeth and still have a democracy, however flawed, in the future. And I don't know about you, but I think that is, and remains, incredibly fucking important.

Hero hated mornings.

Aside from them being the worst time of day for waking up, they also never seemed to lose the feeling of the last night. The air felt the same, their things sat in the same spaces, and the only thing that ever seemed to change was what side of the bed was abandoned.

Not that that last part really mattered to the crime-stopper, but they somehow couldn’t seem to crush the spark of hope that sat in their heart. And with every new morning came the same-old shattered spirit.

God, what was the villain doing to them.

It seemed that no matter how high they held their head all day and all night, when the criminal was gone by morning it was always two steps back. It didn’t matter what the hero said before they fell asleep together, it didn’t matter if they begged the other to stay or to lay awake with them one morning. The villain had priorities, and attending to their nemesis’ wants was never at the top of their list. Hero eventually came to the conclusion that their name probably wasn’t on the list at all.

They hadn’t left the house that day.

And they didn’t feel like leaving today either, but they had used up all of their heartbreak-holidays now and another “sick day” would kick them from the force. So they hauled themselves up and into the kitchen, starting up their usual pot of coffee as they relished in the last of Villain’s scent on their pyjamas before dressing into their suit.

Maybe they could entice the villain for dinner tonight so they could meet at six instead of eight…

“So quick to get rid of me, huh?”

The hero spun around fast enough to give themselves whiplash and send them flying backwards into their closet. At the sight of the Villain, Hero wanted to die of embarrassment, they had always been the cool, calm and collected character and right now they were a blushing mess.

“Meaning the shirt, love.” Hero hadn’t even realized they had asked a question until the villain was answering it. And the villain huffed when the words got lost on the crime-stopper’s tongue once more.

“Wha… what are you doing here?” They gulped, audibly, before turning even redder, ears burning and eyes bulging.

Villain took a few steps closer, crowding the other against their closet doors. “I came to see you, obviously.”

“A-ah, yes, but uhm, why?”

The villain looked at them as if they were stupid. Had the hero’s pleas and begs finally worked? Had the villain had a last minute change of heart?

“You’re still wearing my emblem. It’s kind of my signature piece, yknow? Can’t really leave as ‘Villain’ if I’m missing the one thing that makes me, me.”

Of course, they had come back for the pin. Not to really see the hero nor be with them.

dawg I just had to move all my shit to a brand new world because calamity loves me and decided to do its worldgen weird.

i am going to share this tale with you for the haha funnies. i am not complaining. in fact this made me so incredibly joyous and i thought it was HILARIOUS

ryder is currently pre-skeletron. so i decide that now is the time so i can go into the dungeon and get some nice and tasty weapon upgrades. with that as well comes the time for me to get some sea prisms. i think "huh, i've been neglecting going to the sunken sea. perhaps now is the time!" i say, having no idea of what would unfold for the the next hour

i find my prisms. i start exploring. i find some honey and realize "oh hey, i'm right next to the jungle." a jungle shrine is to the left under the sunken sea and i think "oh hey! nice!" so cool! my sunken sea's next to the underground jungle!

HOWEVER. and i mean HOWEVER. this. this is where it begins. the tomfuckery begins here

as i'm exploring the place, luiafk does me its nice little favor of bringing nearby items towards me. it is great for collecting blocks from dynamite holes while i'm busy actually mining. BUT.

Beast Boy

-I imagine that beast boy would sometimes struggle with his own powers too, maybe when emotional so he'd relate to how you weren't able to control your own either.

-He'd be really sweet and loving and understanding towards you not being to control them and try and help you to understand them and control them better.

-If they hurt a citizen by accident and you threw that upon yourself as your own fault, I feel like he'd be the one to get you to take a break from crime fighting for a little while and help you train instead and support you on days when it gets really bad

-He'd probably not understand alot at first and underestimate it almost

-But after that he'd be right by your side ready to help at any point you feel it coming out of control again

-To me he'd be like the type of person to baby proof your room 💀

Raven

-Raven, to me, would be the type of person to understand straight away because of her having her own powers and obviously not knowing how to control them at first

-She'd help you work on them and improve your control but remove you from a fight if it was getting worse and there was possible harm about to be caused

-She wouldn't really know how to really comfort you if you got upset about it so she'd kinda just hold you and hope that made it better whilst whispering sweet little nothings into your ear to give some support and let you know she understands

-If you accidently hurt a citizen or a team member whilst using your powers and putting it upon yourself she'd go to amazing lengths to show you it wasn't your fault and assure you that youre doing amazing and that even though you may not be able to Control them now, that doesn't mean it can't change

-Starfire would be the type of person to believe it was so cool that you could do whatever you wanted with your powers before you had to explain you couldn't control them

-After that she'd work hard to help you train to control them and help you learn more about them too and give you ideas on how to cope when things got really bad

-She'd collect you cool things and be like, 'Oh here! This could be calming for you!', after picking up little kits for you both to do to relax and to relax your stress levels to see if that did anything to help

-She'd overall be soooooo sweet and caring and willing to learn anything to help you cope and control your powers

-She'd be the type of person to force you to start drinking healthy smoothies and getting you to go to yoga classes claiming she read they'd help

-She'd have a constant sweet drawer stocked in her room for you to take from whenever you felt like it and like pre written notes for you to read when she was away and it started getting worse to make it feel like she was physically there

Cyborg

-He wouldn't really relate to not being able to control your powers just adjusting to having them yknow?

-He'd be shocked at first and then start researching and asking you questions about your powers to try and find a way to make then more manageable

-He'd let you train with him as much as you want as he's like 3/4 robot so it wouldn't hurt him

-If you hurt a teammate or civilian he would encourage you to take a break to work more on your powers and help you understand how you got them and try and find the reason they started

-He'd take you out on walks away from the city and help you calm down by having a picnic or watching the sunset

-he'd just be so sweet about it and have it in his best interest to make it better for you

Robin

-I think that Robin would understand like straight away what was wrong with you because of how many people with powers he's been around his entire life (nearly)

-He'd ask others about their powers to understand your situation better and do lots of research on what he can do

-He'd (try and fail to) make you food and after that didn't work he'd probably take you out into the city and find things to practise your powers on to give you better control over them

-When you're stressed or worried about your powers and not being able to control them he'd give you a hug and invite you to come and train with him and if you didn't want to do that he'd find a cute movie for you both to watch and get you to relax through take out and movie between you both <33

i dont really infodump in general at all but im doing it cus i need some ideas off my chest. do you freak with angst? perhaps an unhappy ending?

so i had an idea of like. what if nagito DID actually bomb the island, taking everyone out alongside himself?

so when nagito finds out that he alongside all the other participants (aside from chiaki) are remnants of despair he just wants to end everything for good bc he doesnt think the ones he called "symbols of hope" deserved to live. so bombs are spread all around the islands forreal this time, and hes still just as vague and ominous, never really specified how many bombs there were, what island it was on, and left it up to the survivors to try and figure it out. so they'd all been searching for days, but to no avail, and at the very last moment when fuyuhiko finds them at the military base (nagito had just freshly died + placed them on the truck), he drags the others there to check it out. once nagito's video message to them ends, the bombs go off alongside a chain of other explosions across every island. the remaining survivors ran out of the factory, barely on time, and everything started crumbling around them, and all the others were downed one by one, crushed underneath falling structures with no time to be saved

but somehow haj and fuyu survived (who were farther away and had more time to react), the others dying right in front of their own eyes. but they ran away, retreating to the warehouse immediately. and hajime just takes a minute to crumble in fuyuhikos arms wishing he couldve saved them. until they hear music echoing in the warehouse. they walk down, and past a curtain, they find nagitos body with a spear through his head. (the fire/poison didnt go off btw, it wasnt really necessary in his plan.)

im sure u can imagine hajime was fucking raging at that point just breaking down and stressing out, how mad he was at nagito for running away like this and inflicting all this pain onto everyone, and monokuma let him do it since yknow, technically he couldnt punish him for a crime he hadnt committed yet, and all this happened in a matter of minutes. but fuyuhiko snaps him out of his panic for a second and knocks something through hajimes head, and the realization hits; it’s just them now. they’re the only ones left

and neither of them know what to do

but their first thought was to get out of this factory as fast as possible, so thats the first thing they do, navigating through the fire and leaving the entire fifth island, and hope that maybe they can find a way out of here, or ask monokuma or monomi for help (since the island is in shambles, they must have to let them go right?), so they wander around, hoping maybe then something would happen, but there wasn't any sight of monokuma or monomi. the fire kept on spreading, the smoke was getting worse, so fuyuhiko and hajime eventually retreat back at the military base (one of the few places untouched by the bombs) so they could catch their breath, collect their thoughts, and make a plan (or hopefully monokuma would come to them, if they stay in one place.)

they just kinda sit inside of a garage for a while, talk a little and comfort eachother through it, hajime is crushed by guilt and horror, but he realizes they wont accomplish anything just by sitting here. and if he couldnt save the others, he can save him and fuyuhiko. so haj leaves fuyuhiko in the garage with determination to think of something to get them off this island somehow. he looks for ways of escape, like the helicopter outside, but no fuel. he looks for materials or tools for a boat, but the island had been extremely lacking in that, everything was either burned or missing by now, so even their most plausible idea was destroyed. when hajime returns to the garage in a panic, pacing around, fuyuhiko realizes they arent getting off this island. they cant wait here forever. but hes known this for a while, and he knows what he has to do now

eventually, he hands hajime a pistol(acquired from the truck of firearms outside), and asks him to kill him so it could finally be over

obviously hajime refuses at first, but fuyuhiko begs him, because he isn’t a good person and he doesn’t have much else to live for, while hajime has singlehandedly saved everyones asses, he deserved to escape more than anyone else here, he basically tells him 'its time you take care of yourself.' by now, hajime was crying, but they’ve been at this dead end for so long, he knew he had to do it or else they’d never be getting off this island. so hajime just had to accept it, so he just holds him close, says his final goodbyes before making it quick for him

pulling that trigger hurt him more than anything, knowing he'd failed to the end, but anyway boom monokuma comes out congratulating him, ends the simulation, and hajime is the winner

also postgame babey; when things end here, hajime would wake up from the simulation, and since he never got to choose his own future alongside everyone else, he wakes up as izuru kamukura, inside the abandoned pod room. he's not entirely empty i think, izuru and hajime still would have "merged" afterwards, but his memories of the simulation are very fuzzy very quickly, so hajime is somewhere in there, mourning, justi n the deepest parts of his mind. but thats a whole thing to get into. the survivors, fuyuhiko, and everything that happened, are just kind of like a vague nightmare that sticks with you no matter how much you try to forget it

but he just leaves the pod room, and lurks around the city without any other purpose to serve anymore, all alone. the future foundation hasnt found him since

Why do you write/enjoy noncon/dubcon?

in the wise words of one of my friends: because it's hot, next question.

but for a more in depth answer, i'll elaborate on some possible theories below. warning for obvious discussion about rape.

there's something incredibly fun about exploring the absolute worst in humanity, and that includes rape. delving into those extreme situations and emotions is enticing, both as a reader and as a writer. it's interesting exploring everything attached to the act of rape itself, because it's so dark and taboo. it's also a safe way to explore such horrendous topics, yknow? like it's purely fictional, and no one is getting harmed, so it serves to ease some curiosity whilst still remaining safe.

and i could probably make the point about being a victim of rape myself, writing and enjoying noncon/dubcon stories allows me to gain control back over the situation in a sense. a sort of reclamation of that which was stolen from me, but now i am in control of the story and its outcome. it's almost cathartic to an extent, even if i am technically the victim in these stories. it's still my retelling, and my story, and my ending. as a rape victim myself, i am here to say: fantasising about noncon/dubcon scenarios is absolutely A OK. i do it too. gaining that control back has honest to god helped me with healing, and even if you haven't been raped before, it's still okay to fantasise about it for the reasons below and more! we're all adults and understand the implications, you shall not be thought crimed on this blog.

a lot of noncon/dubcon is less about the act of rape itself too, and more about the power struggle. the loss of autonomy, being manhandled and physically overpowered into submission. which parallels what a lot of other kink/bdsm is centred around, the exchange of power. of course, i am not claiming all kink/bdsm is rape play, but the themes are consistent throughout i think! it just so happens that rape is at the more extreme end, but i don't think it's solely about the act of being raped itself that is so alluring.

because typically, when it comes to fantasy, you're going to imagine something out with the realm of normality, right? rape seems as far from normal as possible when it comes to sex... but because it's just a fantasy, and you're in control of what does/doesn't happen throughout the scene/play, then it's fun, right? if you enjoy those things i mean.

but when fantasy becomes reality we can all collective understand that rape irl is not fun or cool B-) these two things can coexist.

I was just curious, feel free to ignore! or take this as an opportunity to just talk randomly about your guys if you’re in the mood for that, no need to answer those questions if they’re a lot! :) also sorry if you’ve posted about this before/recently and I missed it!

gasp...... im always delighted to have an oppurtunity to talk about my blorbos. im sure ive posted about this before - But i will happily summarize again. I did an overview on where each of them were from Here (as well as some talk on accents), and I have the basic overview of their individual backstories in their character summaries linked in my pinned post

this is long so im gonna put it under the cut oop. hope you dont mind an essay

Meeting and School Years

The story of their dynamics really begins as many dreaded childhoods begin: at school. They all were attending the same industrial school as kids/teens, which is where they met. (if you dont know what an industrial school was, they were basically a type of charity run boarding schools created for 'vagrant' children. as a girl's school they wouldve been taught Employable Skills alongside sewing and cooking and such, alongside regular School Stuff)

Jamie was initially there before the other two were, only being around when they were 12 and Josie was 10 that the two of them met, Josie having ended up being sent there some time after her brother died. Jamie had been heavily ostracized from their peers prior to this, so kind of latched onto Josie after they started talking as they, well, didnt really have any other friends. The balancing out of the overly energetic and talkative nature from Jam was also helpful for Josie in a way, giving her the time to adjust and talk on her own accords. Jamie had a habit of sneaking out of the school to wander off into the nearby woods to play, and eventually began inviting Josephine on those 'adventures', which had its highlights and its dangerous moments- kids stuff, yknow how it is.

About a year later, Alex ended up at the same school after being 'transfered' from a reformatory school, long since having already been involved in criminal areas as a kid. (at this point the ages are 15, 13, and 11 for Alex, Jamie, and Josie respectivly)

Alex ended up becoming friends with the other two sort of on accident, when he punched out another girl for bullying Jamie - even back then, he didnt take well to bullies - and subsequently took the fall for such an action. After that Jamie basically wouldnt leave him alone, and dragged him along into the friendship and introduced him to Josie.

The trio spent another couple years at the school, where they learned to balance around and support one anoher in this place that Kind Of Sucks. Alex had plans to leave and meant to break away from the place when he was 17, but the other two insisted on coming with him.

Teen and Adult years

To what im sure is no surprise, Alex basically planned to continue being involved in crime upon his leaving. The other two were a touch involved as well, so to speak, in the matters of surviving on their own. I generally imagine Alex's plan was to return to Birmingham, so thats likely where they ended up.

The rest of this part of the timeline is less specific, a collection of key points between now and the decent to the neath. Important things include Alex's 'pretending' to be a boy for easier access into some spaces stop being pretending, and officially starts to go by Alex. The other two are pretty much okay with it . Jamie starts being involved with artsy groups and eventually gets a job at a theater - it is here they first meet their future ex. Josephine pursued further less typical education outside of the school, before her want to seek answers about personal matters overweighed that desire to just learn things.. and a whole bunch of other things, like Joise returning to Liverpool to seek answers there, Alex becoming more and more tied up in criminal activities (and arson) on the surface, Jamie playing games of copy get to try and climb higher (alongside burgeoning worsening mental health problems but thats another story).

So suffice to say - a lot of time and a lot of things occured. how did they end up becoming so important to each other? well, it was simply a matter of time and the commitment of having only a couple people you can rely on in a world that otherwise cares little for you. Build up of connection, and a support of friendship.

It was the same reason their dynamic ended up falling apart.

Ive talked before on how I don't really know how to qualify their relationship; its not romantic (especially considering the younger years), but its not entierly platonic. There's defiently familia aspects to it, but I wouldnt say they're directly siblings or such (though Jamie def has middle child syndrome lmao). Its a kind of found family relationship that doesn't quite fit within the expectations of expected dynamics.

The 'break up' so to speak wasnt neccearily because of one specific reason. When you have three young adults all in closed spaces, each dealing with their own issues, none having learned how to properly communicate..... well, when the foundation begins to crack, eventually the building is going to topple.

There was no 'final deciding argument' but rather many small ones, over long periods of time. conversations becoming less easy, time together less friendly. what once brought great joy and support instead brought feelings of tension and hurt. Some bends to the foundation simply become to great to support the weight, and it was a slow crumble, day by day.

The final descion to come to the neath was still based on one another, especially as Josie planned to leave one way or another to track down her brother's killer, and by all accounts they still came together. But by then the dynamic had already become fragile, and it would never quite be what it was again.

Sometimes thats just what happens when you grow up, and the people you love and the cricumstances change. Sometimes things just dont work anymore. Perhaps they never truly did.

i saw a really cool exhibition on mummy portraits that would be painted on wood and placed above the face on the sarcophagus and it made me cry and this is one of my favourites from that exhibition. the soul in her eyes……. i think there is research into who she was and who might’ve painted her but i didn’t take pics of that info and there’s nothing online :(

i think maybe juniors suit at first is just like. “spider kids halloween costume” or smth similar and tucker wasn’t really wearing one at first just like. a mask and a hoodie like he isn’t really getting into the whole superhero-ing thing he just kinda wants to not have his kid get caught by the government bc he’s pretty sure if he did they’d both be like. experimented on. and maybe he cares about the kid okay what of it. anyway the tuckers are doing their thing and church keeps talking about how fucking stupid this is and how tuckers gonna get himself killed etc etc and this goes on for like a few months like a minute and they have a little groove going and maybe they have some established villains and yknow things are going good and tucker says to church like, maybe they should get costumes or something and church is like. shut the fuck up that’s stupid. and tuckers like damn i was just suggesting

but then. but then. church dies.

and juniors spit. okay so junior shoots web from his mouth right and he can wrap up tuckers wounds with it and they’ll heal faster. right and so like. church gets killed and tucker is a little bit freaking the fuck out but trying to stay cool and collected bc that’s him that’s tucker he’s mr cool he’s professor collected and then. junior starts trying to like. cocoon church. to try and maybe heal him. and tucker totally flips out at this point and starts yelling at junior to stop and how this is his fault and how he never wanted ANY of this and then cops start coming in so they have to run and they’re separated and tucker ends up alone. just. completely alone. his son is missing his best friend is dead. so he just. goes home. to his and church’s shared apartment. and junior doesnt come home but like. what the fuck is tucker supposed to do about it. he’s just a guy. and a few days pass and church’s family wants to come pick up his stuff and tucker realizes he should probably go through church’s shit to make sure he doesn’t have anything in there that would reveal the existence of junior because church’s dad is HELLA sus* and in looking through his things he finds that church. made him a web shooter.

and not ONLY does he find that. okay so like in the beginning of the story junior isn’t doing crime fighting yknow he’s just a normal spider monster baby and church is like “we need to get rid of this thing” and tuckers like “no we can’t” but well ANYWAY as previously established church is a giant fucking nerd who’s into superhero comics and shit and so they just kinda. plop junior in front of like some saturday morning cartoons and junior sees these superheroes in the shows and in the comics and then once when he and tucker go out there’s a robbery in the store they’re in and juniors like. this is my moment. and that’s how this starts.

but ANYWAY as tucker keeps looking through church’s shit he find church’s comics and there’s writing all over them and tucker recognizes some of it as juniors very crude drawings but others as church circling things and writing stuff and tucker realizes that at some point church and junior were looking at church’s superhero comics together to like, design outfits and stuff. and tucker sees some of the drawings and like neither church nor junior are artists so they’re Not Great but they’re SOMETHING and tuckers so struck he’s just like. oh god i need to go find my son. i need to make things right. and so he goes out with the sword and the web shooters and an outfit made based on junior and church’s designs and he goes and he find his son

(*decided against having the director be church’s dad here instead i want the director to be an alternate church. on earth-69 church’s dad is just some random guy who was kinda shitty and probably like a tech genius but died when church was kinda young and church was raised by the counselor who, in turn, had a ranking job in charon and also got church a job there. this is because i think it makes more sense for tucker’s villains to be more chorus/charon based. whereas the freelancer stuff is more multiverse. like i think hargrove is ALSO doing multiverse stuff which is how tucker gets dragged into it but earth-69’s plot is tuckers story and that doesn’t really have anything to do with pfl. pfl is the atsv charon is the itsv.

wash is still a villain/anti hero for tucker but that’s bc wash is still important to tuckers story. okay. multiverse stuff is actually soooo helpful bc i can have wash be working for charon on earth-69 while he’s still a part of freelancer of elsewhere)

ok i feel like making more in depth posts about those games i just listed but since they're so many i'll separate them by genre

Also admittedly I sorta just tossed these games into genres very haphazardly so i dunno if i particularly categorized them right. anyways, here are the ~~~mystery games~~~

This is basically ace attorney but with birds, which makes it an instant favorite. Also, for some reason, the french revolution is involved. i really don't remember why. I remember also a twist ending that's fun, plays on the expectations an ace attorney player would have and stabs them with a knife.

another bird-themed mystery game thing, point and click. It's got a nice aesthetic, and the voice acting is honestly quite good. i like going around and detectiving and also being a bird. it's fun.

there are a LOT of furry detective games for some reason. i think this one is based on a french comic? actually maybe i shouldn't have picked this as an "obscure game," i think this is, actually, a pretty big deal in france maybe?? the lady cats look real weird. i don't remember literally anything about this except that. somehow. the game ends somewhere underground.

LITERALLY don't remember anything about this. but the protagonist is a lady detective.

another furry mystery. this one is neat because you're just in your wheelchair, looking out from your room and finding out shit by watching. There's another game, Conway: Disappearance at Dahlia View (or whatever), where the protagonist is also in a wheelchair and looking outside his window, but Conway's protagonist drives me crazy for just being So Nosy and just, getting into places he Really Shouldn't. Anyways, the flower collectors felt nicer.

i just kinda realized that, like. this probably shouldn't be under the "mystery" genre. Like, yeah, I guess you're trying to figure shit out, but it's not exactly. like. mystery mystery. yknow? But it's a time loop! It's a time loop game. You're trying to figure out the stuff that's going on in this time loop. I think it's neat. Time loops are neat. It's fun.

this one also isn't really a mystery, honestly. Even though it calls itself "a mystery game" in the title. but I made my bed and now I have to sleep in it. Anyways, this one I don't particularly know how I feel about it. It's a very odd game. fun visuals sometimes. The scenery was nice. There are some good vibes. It's very odd. Anyways.

i literally don't remember shit about this game. there's a boat. you walk around in a house. I love walking around in houses. i love picking stuff up and looking at it.

I find this game to be a very interesting one...! I have no idea how to describe it. Also, there's some sort of....secret? Or something? on the title screen. I think there's a secret. But I don't know what it is or how to unlock it, and nobody else seems to know either, at least last I checked. you have to use law as evidence. but also, you play a cop so. y'know. acab. There's multiple endings depending on like, if you are a "good enough cop" or not. And also, you can use evidence in different ways when indicting someone, there are different level of crimes you can arrest someone for as well. Anyways, it's neat.

i remember liking this one because it involves timelines and you figuring out what's wrong with what people are saying based on what they say happened. Also, the culprits are daemons and you have to also correctly identify which daemon the culprits are possessed by.

honestly........this probably doesn't count as obscure (i see over 3k reviews) but i mean, like. it has the vibes of obscure. the environments and the music and everything is very, uhh, what's that genre called again? something-core? VAPORWAVE. that. also, there's a map and you walk around it and you collect things and i am always obsessed with that. honestly reminds me a lot of umineko, in terms of like. one of the phrases that keeps repeating is "the truth is not the same as the facts" (I think?). like, the ending is where you accuse people, and you essentially decide the "truth." and, yes, like, in some ways, the question of "who killed X" can be played with! Who is actually culpable? How far do you go? Idk. it's neat. also, your name is Lady Love Dies!!!! it's cool!!!! what a fucking name.

i don't actually know how i feel about this one either. there's stealth involved, though. and a lot of exploration elements, which I think is neat, actually, but i am such a soft nervous baby so I probably missed a lot of shit tbh. And there's a timed element too, so extra nervous baby mode.

uhhhhh. this one also probably hsouldn't have been counted as an obscure game, oops. I think there was a certain point where I just, really went wild for space games. I don't remember what this one is at all. I think there was some eldrich elements at the end, so maybe it shouldn't be considered a mystery, oops. Actually, this should probably be under horror. oops. oops!!

visual novel. I'm surprised it didn't have more reviews, because like.....i think this started as an actual? like? console visual novel game?? and got ported to steam later. anyways, i think this one is funny for one particular ending. maybe this also shouldn't count as a mystery, because you can, uh, determine what the "answer" is by choosing certain ways to write letters. but look, it's mysterious! you're trying to solve, like, a disappearance!! it's fine.

this one involves cults. once again, you get to walk around a place and look at things and pick them up. i like that in a game. does this count as horror? I think it does make things creepy and tries to scare you at points, i guess. ummmm i guess also this probably shouldn't count as mystery either. anyways, this is about cults so i mean, definitely a lot of dark shit going on here. you read a lot about death and sex and bad cult shit.

this one is an fmv game (game with real-ass people) and this one i think is kinda fun because you will shapeshift as people, meaning you can go to each person as some different person and see how they treat you and stuff. which is fun. though i think that doesn't end up mattering as much. i don't remember a lot of this actually. i liked the radio people.

corporate capitalism apocalypse type thing. sometimes i get so so sad about having to make decisions on shit. you make decisions on people living or dying. also, your boss grades your performance. there's one case about a cop android in particular that makes me so so so sad. anyways.

this one is by the guys who make the sherlock holmes game. this also maybe doesn't quite count as mystery?? because you also have to shoot stuff and things. but i mean, you also solve crimes and also sidequest crimes, so like. whatever. also, there is lovecraftian horror things involved. it is very much a sherlock holmes game except lovecraft.

i don't remember this game. but i do remember it being neat.
