Still weird seeing Twilight be so honest with Yor about struggling to turn his brain off and just *be*. A good kind of weird, of course. I could never imagine volume one Twilight being so open with her (or anyone, really). This chapter was so nice with its references to all the way back then and showing how far they've come since. Still some sneaky Project Apple seeds being laid, of course, but overall, this was a pleasant checkpoint. A little calm before the next storm, which was sorely needed after the last arc

I’m sorry but I don’t trust Virginia or Clémence. They’re the two passengers we learn the least about (unless you count the sexist doctor) and their whole deals are having unknown goals and needs.
Virginia is definitely the easiest pill to swallow, considering how she treats Ling Yi and Yuk Je. But I still feel like it’s particularly weird that we know so little about her. Why was she shipping what she initially thought was a sex-worker to New York? How did she get into it? And since this was all a simulation, what is the connection to her real life? Also, it might just be my general mistrust of her because we know so little, but I have a feeling Virginia knows something about or is very important to life outside the 1899 simulation. When Maura talks about truths to be found in the brain, Virginia immediately talks about allowing people to live in oblivion. She denies the simulation until pretty much the end, and while it could just be because Maura was a doctor, Virginia was very quick to assume that Maura could help her with the glitch corruption of her hand.
But Clémence though. Clémence I wanted to trust, but there’s just so much about her that is making me suspicious of her. First off: like Virginia she is drenched in important symbols. The most notable are the earth symbol/triangle earrings and hairclips, but she also has a flower embroidery on her collar that looks too much like a bug to be a coincidence. Secondly: we barely know anything about Clémence beyond the fact that she is married to Lucien and disillusioned about it. Yes, she’s drawn to Jérôme in a similar way to how f. ex. Ling Yi and Olek are drawn to each other, but it doesn’t really say much about Clémence as an individual. Jérôme and Lucien have a known simulated trauma story. We know what their moral compasses are and how they react or don’t react to injustice and what haunts them. Jérôme desperately wants things to be right. Lucien wants to live. Jérôme is constantly walking in ready to fight because he has no other choice. Lucien reacts to his deadly situation by taking it out on and isolating himself from Clémence. But what about her.
Most of the time she seems bored and stuck with Lucien, yet she actively seeks him out and seems to try and form some kind of relationship with him beyond a technical marriage. But why would she do that when she doesn’t seem interested in keeping up a facade for the other passengers and has a clear attraction towards Jérôme? When her and Tove go into the room where she puts on trousers, Clémence does tell Tove that she envies her (which... Tove is a rape survivor carrying a child from said horrible trauma who just lost both her siblings has a verbally abusive unstable mother a barely there father and is also a working class woman at the turn of the century, Clémence what are you on about) and tells her about how she wanted children until her sister had some and she began to find them annoying. Clémence expresses that she’s realized that you rarely known if you truly want what you want until you get it, but this doesn’t really say anything about her beyond what we already know about her marriage.
And finally: we don’t get a single peek at her simulated trauma. Maura has one. Eyk has one. Lucien and Jérôme share one, and that pretty much seems to be the case for Ling Yi and Yuk Je as well, and Ángel and Ramiro (not to mention the Danish family). We don’t know of a single thing that could actually haunt Clémence. Even Daniel and Elliot get simulations, and we know there was one for Olek even though we don’t see it from his perspective, but there’s nothing for Virginia or Clémence. Not even as much as a hint as to what they might be.
Let me make myself clear: I highly doubt that either of them could be a Ciaran reveal. But I have this feeling that I can’t shake that the both of them are connected to the simulations in a way the others aren’t. They know something, or knew something that they came to forget similarly to Maura. But either way these two are hiding something, just something I just know it.

I cannot for the life of me find the original post (tumblr is a hellsite) but this was sent in an atla gc:
Tumblr media
@the-badger-mole
and tbh i always kinda felt like kataang was weird exactly because of that one-sidedness??? like there's one episode of katara maybe sort-of seeing aang as a love interest (when the fortune teller tells her she'll marry a powerful bender), but then the rest of the show is her being passive in the relationship or actively pushing aang away (like their second kiss). and then at the end she just randomly decided "okay i like you i guess."
whereas aang got a bunch of pining moments and you actually believed he was in love with katara.
and most of their relationship was about how she helped aang - he did contribute to her character development over the course of the series especially as a bender of course but it didn't feel as emotionally/spiritually deep as katara's literal one episode sidequest with zuko.
but then someone else wrote "I would argue the opposite? Kataang is where Katara choose the peaceful nomad which subverts the trope presented where zutara is where she chooses the strong protector/combatant. Aang as a character is a subversion of the typical hero while zutara is like,,, coloniser romance idk"
and honestly... i kinda get that. aang was problematic in a lot of ways, but he was definitely a subversive protagonist, and i can see the power of allowing the woman to choose the pacifist vegetarian over the extremely obviously hot jock badboy. this is an incredible oversimplification of their characters of course, but the point stands.
Basically, Kataang is the ship we all logically want - the sweet, friendship-based, seemingly subversive one. But Zutara is the one that actually makes sense in the story, with these characters, not their tropes. Aang is subversive, but he and Katara are also kind of terrible for each other - he isn't mature or selfless enough for Katara, who needs someone to force her to take care of herself because she's always the one taking care of everyone else (wonder what that's like). That's why she and Zuko are so perfect, because he not only takes care of her, he makes HER prioritize herself. Aang... does not. He's pretty selfish, which yes is partially due to his immaturity (I personally don't count Korra as canon because it treated ALL the og characters terribly so I'm speaking purely from his 12 yo self), but it's also just a basic incompatibility thing. And Katara is actually equally bad for Aang - she enables him waaay too much, and he needs someone who doesn't. Who forces him to stand up on his own two feet and take responsibility. She's too much of a mother, and her relationship with Aang is too mother/older sister-ish.
With Zuko, on the other hand? Katara started out HATING him, forcing him to prove himself to her instead of handing him everything she had like she tended to do with Aang and Sokka. He had to earn her care, and as a result he appreciates it way more and demands way less of it. He's a far less selfish character generally for the same reasons, and is much more mature/has a better understanding of life and gray areas. Southern Raiders is a great example of this - he's down for whatever Katara decides because he understands that there's no one right answer, unlike Aang who simply preaches forgiveness. I'm not necessarily attacking Aang about that either - I do believe that grudges eat away at a person, and taking a life does haunt you, so forgiveness isn't necessarily bad advice. But it's not what Katara needed. Aang is great as a friend, but I don't think he's what Katara needs from a romantic partner. Zuko just... is.

Part two of my kill for hire reader?!?!?! Like the brothers all court her? Different endings on who she chooses?!?!?!
Go for the Kill
Prior notes: @eemr1000 @livingdeadgirly @k3ythesapphic COME GET YOUR FOOD BEFORE THE MOLES GET IT. Tbh I struggled a little but i think I did okay.
Pairing: Lin Kuei Bros x Afab reader
Warnings ‼️: Just get inside!
Tumblr media
You made quite a reputation for yourself. You have been most useful to Lord Liu Kang. Thanks to the help of the Lin Kuei your skills have grown substantially. And look at that, you made three new friends as well. Well, they want to be more than just friends.
It didn’t take long for the brothers to recognize that they all liked you for their own reasons. Bi-Han liked how deceitful you can be just to get the job done. Kuai Liang applauds your tactics and finds your intelligence to be quite attractive. Tomas saw your huge potential and finding out you are actually sweet drew him in.
Yes, yes, you certainly have a nice set of bachelors just waiting to nab you for themselves. But, uh, who are you gonna pick?
I mean they haven’t even asked you out yet. You’ve been busy with more killing assignments so they haven’t gotten the chance to have you alone. It’s fine, it gives them plenty of time to think and prepare a way to court you. They have their own ways, it just depends who gets to you first.
You get back to the Lin Kuei temple after another successful killing. You’re a bit tired and just want to settle down for the night but you can already hear all three of them making their way towards you. Well, now it’s just one since Bi-Han decided he gets to see you first. It wasn’t a mutual decision he just pushed his brothers out of the way.
“I see you are successful once again. I do not expect anything less from you.” He compliments you as if you haven’t been killing for who knows how long. You noticed he grabbed onto your hand, ready to drag you away from everyone else.
“It is incredible how perfect you still look. You look like you barely broke a sweat.” Now Kuai Liang was coming in. He grabbed your other hand with the same intent Bi-Han has.
“You must be tired after that assignment. Maybe you should relax for a little. I can help you.” Who do you think just snuck up behind you and wrapped his arms around your waist? That’s right, Tomas.
You could feel tension in the air building up as you looked at all three brothers. They weren’t looking at you but they were glaring at each other. Something’s off but you can’t tell.
“Come with me, I have something important to discuss with you.” Bi-Han spoke.
“Whatever you have to say, brother, can wait. I have something important to tell her as well.” Then Kuai Liang spoke.
“I have something just as important to say to her.” Tomas pitched in.
“Why don’t you all just tell me what you want to say.” You were snappy since you were tired.
There was silence. They were unsure about confessing right now. But if it has to be done, so be it. Bi-Han will go first obviously. He pulled you in close, glared at his brothers, then looked down at you with a less cold look.
“Ever since the first time I saw you kill that fool, I knew you were the perfect woman for me. Skilled, precise, vicious even. You belong next to a grandmaster like me. I would hate for some incompetent fool to have their hands on you and ruin a perfectly good woman like yourself.”
To be honest, you were shocked. Did Bi-Han really have his eyes on you this whole time? You would have never guessed.
I mean it’s not like he deliberately made time to train you every time you were at the temple. It’s not like you caught him giving you that devilish smirk whenever he watch you kill someone else in your own devious way. And when you asked everyone else if he has ever smiled at them that way they all thought you were mad. Cause when the fuck does Bi-Han ever smile. There was never even a twitch in his lips at anything enjoyable other than you. Alright so there were signs you just didn’t think too much into it.
Now it was Kuai Liang’s turn. He yanked you away from his brother and held you close. He looked at you more warmly and a less cold expression overall.
“Your beauty and intellect has awed me. I have never met a woman with your skills. You are a rare kind of person that I would hate to let go of. My desire for you burns brighter and hotter than the fire I produce.”
Kuai Liang’s words were sweet. You believed him since he was always such a gentleman to you. He always complimented and applaud you for your plans. Your ways of execution were unlike anything he has seen. You always appreciated that you felt equal to him. He never held back when you two would practice which helps make sure you were always at your best.
Don’t forget about Tomas. He pulled you in by your waist. His head rested on your shoulder, just appreciating your presence before confessing.
“It’s been so long since I’ve seen someone with such skills that could rival a hunter. Not even in my homeland did I see many like you. I see so much potential in you and I want to be next to you as you develop your skills further. No one could rival you.”
You always heard Tomas cheer you on. He wanted to know your tricks and you would happily share them with him. You two had a closeness that came from your sneaky skills. He was great to practice with when preparing for your next assignments, except you wouldn’t actually kill him of course. You appreciated that he saw that you were actually sweet and never questioned if you were just putting up a persona or not. He wasn’t afraid of hearing that sweet voice of yours and think that you were about to poison him.
He let you go and now they were all looking at you. It’s your call. Whoever you will pick will have you for himself. Now pick. Who will you be with?
Bi-Han
(So…this is your choice)
You walked up to Bi-Han. You had your eyes on Bi-Han for some time. He is strong, he helped you better your skills, he’s got a handsome face, and a voice that sends shivers down your spine. Clearly, you’re digging him too.
That devilish smirk came back. In his mind you made the right decision. A woman like you is fit for a grandmaster. Your devious tactics combined with his high title is a great combo.
You didn’t even have to verbally say yes to him he took your approach to him as the answer. Unexpectedly, he picked you up and threw you over his shoulder.
Well he can’t have you in front of his brothers since they wanted you just as badly. You didn’t know where he was taking you but you recognized soon that he took you to his office. Just for extra measures since the locks apparently aren’t good enough, he froze the door handle. Now no one could get in and no one can get out.
Bi-Han wiped all the papers off the desk before placing you down on it. He leaned his body against yours to the point he pushed you onto your back. You heard a little hum of desire before he spoke up.
“Finally, we are alone. I have you all to myself.”
Kuai Liang
(Is this correct, reader?)
You walked up to Kuai Liang. You need a gentleman like Kuai Liang. Not just that but his body drew you in. So warm and well built. All those times he would pin you down during practice made you fall for him hard. Even his serious expression was attractive to you.
You made Kuai Liang a happy man today. A lovely lady like you is something he has dreamed of. One that is just as tough and precise when plan making as he is.
“You have quite a way with words, Kuai Liang. I can tell it came deep from your heart.” You commented as you placed your hand on his chest.
He looked at you so lovingly. In your heart you felt like you made a good choice. He held your face as he leaned in to place a kiss on your forehead. The kiss felt hot. His desire truly does burn hot.
You heard a groan come from Bi-Han. At least Tomas can act happy for his brother. Kuai Liang will surely get shit for this from his brother. But it doesn’t matter. He has you and he couldn’t be more happy.
“Do not worry about him. He is just upset that I have a beauty like you in my arms now.”
Tomas
(Your eyes see true)
You walked up to Tomas. You want someone who sees so much in you. To hear that you remind him of his homeland made your heart melt. You never heard something so sweet.
Tomas was ecstatic. Being picked is such a wonderful feeling. He picked you up in his strong arms and twirled you around as if you were a princess. Hey, I bet he would give you that princess treatment you deserve.
You giggled as he placed kisses all over your face. His beautiful huntress. All his.
Of course Bi-Han groaned and wanted to start a fight with Tomas. For once, Tomas would not let his brother get in the way of his happiness. He threw a smoke bomb in Bi-Han’s direction which made him go into a coughing fit. At least Kuai Liang was happy that his brother found love, and that he didn’t get hit with a smoke bomb. He turned his attention back to you again.
“Perhaps we should go somewhere more private, my dearest.”
Bonus: All of them
(I’m the writer I get to have a say!)
“Well, you clearly all like me. Why not I just date all of you.” You said it so casually.
You stumped them all. It wasn’t because they didn’t think of that it’s because it’s not something one would usually say in a situation like this. But you ain’t the usual kind of gal, are you.
“Can’t I love you all equally? Don’t brothers have to share anyways?” You keep bringing up these points which stump them further.
Ah yes, the tactic of confusion.
You can easily love them all. They will get their own special treatments. There is so much to love about each one of them. You were already debating on this before so you had this all set in your mind.
“Perhaps you can. I am unsure how this could work but it will not hurt to try.” Kuai Liang answered.
“Yeah, I think this could work out. You always find a way to make things happen. it will make everyone involved happy.” Tomas added on.
Kuai Liang agreed with Tomas which made them both on board with this. Bi-Han was more hesitant. He should have you all to himself. But it would make some things awkward around her. Oh fine! At least he still gets you.
“Fine. We will have it your way. But I get to have you first.”
Bi-Han picked you up and threw you over his shoulders. You get a sense of deja vu but you never experienced this, right?
All the brothers start to argue and insist he put you down. It was a no from him every time. You sigh as you realize this could get a little complicated.
Oh dear, looks like Bi-Han needs to learn that sharing is caring.
After notes: Alright yall I gotta go gamble and fight senior citizens for pickle rick, giants football, and a Japanese switch. I will throw hands. Sorry if this ain’t the best I did my best. Adiós!

Gonna just post this all together lol uh big post, lots of words, whatever, enjoy
Anyway, meet Roronoa Hikoboshi and Orihime! Hikoboshi resembles Zoro’s dad, he takes over the restaurant eventually while Sora is off sailing, Shinjiro is off sailing, and Takehiko is just causing massive amounts of problems to every type of authority out there lol. Orihime is actually Pudding’s daughter, her only child in fact. Idk, Pudding just eventually gets over Sanji(good, hes way too old for you sweetie tbh; narratively I enjoy their story but ooooooof couldnt she have been at least 18?), meets a new gentleman whos just as kind to her. He, too, has an interest in baking and they open a bakery together, which eventually moves to the exact oart of the All Blue where Sanji resides. Hikoboshi and Orihime meet when theyre 15/16 years old and immediately theyre pretty infatuated. With Orihime being a fairytale and love at first sight kind of gal and Hikoboshi being just as much as a hopeless romantic as his father. When the two want ther parents to meet—its pretty awkward at first lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hikoboshi and Orihime is directly inspired by the myth and Tanabata festival itself. As I said, Hikoboshi more so resembles his grandfather Arashi. Orihime is supposed to look like her father the most, however I wanted to play with the idea of her resembling Big Mom a bit? Mostly just the hair honestly, which starts off as brown but as he gets older it gradually changes to pink. Which makes me think about the possibility of Pudding maybe holding some kind of issues against her early on???? Idk but I would like to explore the idea! Btw, their moles are supposed to reflect their respective stars’ positions, Vega and Altair!
Tumblr media
But anyway heres my designs for Zoro’s parents. Arashi was s two swords style user trying to work his way up to three swords style before he died. He grew up an orphan on the very outskirts of the village after both of his parents passed away when he was roughly 10. Tera grew up on the same island but she wasnt born there, her father bringing her there when she was eeeeeh like 4-6. She didnt grow up in the village though, in fact she didnt up grow up having a home town to name, she doesnt know where in the east blue her family is specifically from, they camped out in a tiny cabin in the wood with a few other bandits. She gets lost a lot, which is where Zoro gets it! She actually ended up having to choose between “carrying on the family business” (being a thief) or Arashi, and she chose Arashi because she’s actually really bad ar being a bandit. They met when they were 18, married a year later, but it took four years to finally have a family of their own. And turns out Zoro is the only kid they ever would have. Quick little details; when Arashi was fatally wounded by the pirates attacking the village, his swords were both essentially destroyed and later buried with him. And so was his earring. Same with Tera, who had genetic illness, Huntington’s disease, however she actually died of pneumonia in the winter time, but her Huntington’s symptoms were prevalent and Zoro was aware of what was going on. She, too, was buried with her earring, two of Zoro’s earrings specifically just being replicas in memory of his parents. And gonna state it outright here: no Zoro doesn’t have Huntington’s disease, but it is a fear of his that he pushes off to the back of his mind constantly. Tbh I just think it makes him more human as a character to have such a natural fear, idk.
Something I kinda REALLY wanna expand on is my idea of Arashi and Koushiro having a relationship somewhat similar to Zoro and Kuina; Arashi being a few years younger than Koushiro who has actual training to begin with, Arashi having no formal training, just his parents’ swords that they left behind. Now neither of them even knew they were like distant cousins, to Koushiro Arashi is just this younger kid with an obnoxiously loud desire to go above and beyond to learn two swords style when he doesnt have any formal training nor does he even know one swords style! Koushiro finds Arashi annoying and even talentless—and yet for several years they met in a field so Koushiro could pass his formal lessons onto Arashi. Arashi couldnt learn at the dojo because he couldnt afford it. The lessons would stop once Koushiro is being prepared to take over the dojo one day and also when he meets his future wife—so hes about 21 give or take, Arashi is around 17 at the least. Their relationship was mostly bickering because Koushiro doesnt like Arashi’s rash attitude and tendency to goof off. And Arashi found Koushiro to be uptight and too grown up. Arashi never could surpass Koushiro in a dual, both one sword style and two sword style. Hes just always been several steps behimd Koushiro and that’s what pushed him to train more. Fast forward to present day, and honest to god Koushiro NEVER connected Zoro to being Arashi’s child. For one thing, he didnt know Arashi had a kid, thats how strained they became, and another, Koushiro, to be fair, doesnt even see an ounce of Arashi in this kid whatsoever. The ego and eagerness to go above and beyond, sure, but what little kid ISNT like that?? Anyway, it comes as a shock and a part of him feels more obligated to take care of Zoro after having witnessed Arashi’s death himself years prior when Zoro wouldve only been a toddler.

★Lùcio doesn't own a normal pair of shoes. All of them are heelys. If he's not in his skates he's barefoot or heelys 🫶🏻
★I think it would be funny if lifeweaver was scared of bugs. He loves them so much and appreciates them more than anything but ask him to hold one? He'd love to! But he starts to freak out (more than) a little "aw look! It's a- ITS ON ME-!"
★Back when Lifeweaver and Symmetra shared a dorm, Niran would constantly forget/not have to energy to brush his hair, putting it off until it was so bad he thought he would have to cut it. Satya sat down and brushed through his hair for 3 hours. He's still so grateful, even if her reminding him to brush his hair every. day. got annoying but he appreciated it.
★Brigitte listens to all types of music. Her playlist goes from Black metal to k-pop then to some Spanish song Sombra told her to listen to. D.va banned her from the aux cord in the car after cannibal corpse played after Ke$ha<3
★Cassidy carries his mom's Rosary with him at all times — he's not a religious person but it was his mom who would wear it everyday and it's nice to have something to remind him of her
★Genji gives sparrow feathers to people he trusts with his whole body and soul. Cassidy carries one in his hat, Kiriko has one in a frame in her room, Mercy has hers tapped on top of her computer. He has a spare one he's been thinking about giving Hanzo but every time he thinks about handing it to him, he starts to get nervous.
★Junkrat didn't tell Roadhog he was making him a trap until he had already made like 50. Junkrat kinda just handed it to him during a fight, Hog threw it, It worked. Rat made 100 more for him
★ Illari made Hanzo a blanket made out of 100% alpaca wool as a birthday gift and expected him to set it to the side and use it a few times. No. This man takes that blanket EVERYWHERE. Overnight mission? He'll bring a bag and that blanket. Genji forced him to movie night? Blanket is going with him.
★ Ashe used to have hair down to the middle of her back, Cassidy loved it so she kept it. Then when Cassidy left for Overwatch she cut it herself in the middle of a 'i hate him' breakdown. He never grew his beard out because she didn't like it, he didn't start actually growing one until a few months in blackwatch. ALSO When Cassidy was still in the deadlock gang he would kiss the mole above Ashe's mouth before he would actually kiss her( I'm so normal about deadlock Cashe I promise )
★D.va and Genji have game nights where they'll play board games instead of playing online. While they do have online gaming days (it's most of the time tbh) but after a stressful week, CandyLand was the way to go<3

ok i was trying to nap because i'm sick and i couldn't sleep and instead i was thinking about house medical doctor. and like. ok. chase is my special favorite, right? i want to punch him in his face, right?
-
I was thinking, though. It's easy to… smooth over and buff out characters to make them more appealing. To focus on traits and interpretations that you like. And to be clear I do think Chase has a lot of good qualities, both in terms of being a likeable character (he's clever! He doesn't take himself that seriously and isn't ego driven, unlike many others in the cast!) and being a fun character to watch (he's always pulling weird faces or being sarcastic!).
But he also has some real fucking character flaws, so let's talk about them. Because I want to. Because I don't like smoothing people out to fit a Narrative. I want to talk about his apathetic moral vacancy.
Like. Chase is apathetic. He truly and honestly doesn't give a shit about other people a lot of the time. He's not aggressive about it, he's not cruel — he tends to be fairly polite, although he's not great at hiding it ("the nurse's phone can take pictures!" "………cool"), he doesn't often talk shit. When he dislikes a patient, he at least tries to hide it (contrast with Foreman, who genuinely sucks at this). But that doesn't mean he cares. He is absolutely fine with lying to patients (Post Mortem), or with billing people for tests and not telling them (Safe). He doesn't care if that's shady. He's super ethically flexible, is the only one of the fellows to be openly pro euthanasia, has zero moral issue with treating Dibala. This clearly isn't because Chase believes so strongly that being a doctor should make you neutral to petty political beliefs, he just… doesn't care much. It doesn't bother him. I don't think he'd go out of his way to be harmful or cruel to someone, but he also isn't going out of his way to help them either.
While we do see him advocating for his patients and getting involved now and then (mostly with children), he never really has any moments where he takes a stand or fights for someone. Cameron, by contrast, does this constantly (The Itch, Acceptance, Fidelity…). Foreman also has several episodes (Fools For Love, Whac-A-Mole, a lot of his S3 development tbh) where he finds and bonds with and over-invests in a patient. The closest Chase ever comes to "getting way too involved in someone's life because he cares" is Moira in Chase, and she's preeeetty explicitly called out as him rebounding and acting out; he's doing the Wilson-Amber reinvent yourself after trauma thing, and it wears off pretty quickly. In Cameron and Foreman's cases too, it's more about their personal issues than the patient in question… but Chase's situation was really about him.
Speaking of being morally vacant! When Cameron might be infected with HIV (Hunting), he expresses some concern and House immediately mocks him for being fake. I don't actually know that it was (he certainly keeps up the thread of suggesting she should take some time off, he's not just being performative), but it's telling that the first reaction to Chase showing concern for anyone is "lol, who are you kidding?" Cameron accuses him later that of not being a good guy. She wants to get laid and live life on the edge, and the person that jumps to her mind when she wonders "who would be down for doing me on meth" is Chase. Nor is she wrong. Chase is an opportunist. Tritter calls him one, and Tritter is correct. He rats to Vogler to save his job, and is barely sorry for it; I'm not sure he ever apologizes. Everyone expects he'll immediately run to Tritter and a huge source of tension in Finding Judas is that Chase can't win: Foreman and Cameron already assume he has, that he's too spoiled and weak to not. Later in S3, when Cameron propositions him, he again goes "free sex?" and signs up, despite calling her out on what a demeaning offer she's making. He tends to pick the easier options. He stays a diagnostics fellow for years longer than anyone else, because it's a safe space. It's easy. He'd rather be a follower than take any risks. (I think there is no room for a reality where he refused his dad's money out of spite or pride. Why would he refuse a trust fund? It's easy. It's right there.)
We actually do see him lash out and stand up for himself here and there. He pushes back against Cameron a few times, actually (Act your Age, Saviors, Teamwork), and he's also pushed back against Foreman and House. But it's only for himself. I can't think of a time he went far out of his way to defend one of his coworkers, or his boss, or a patient. He did get mad enough to, uh, kill, when Dibala threatened Cameron. Which: fair enough? But he doesn't care much for things outside of his immediate influence. He has no problem shrugging off Cuddy in Living the Dream, or an armed gunman in Last Resort. He has no moral stances or political beliefs that we know of (besides, uh, fat people suck and the US immigration system is annoying). He very much does care about people, he's pretty clear that at least some of his apathy is a defense thing after a deeply fucked up childhood, but it's always despite himself. He prefers to do his job and go home. There's an old not-joke about how all surgeons have god complexes. Chase being a surgeon is kind of a retcon, and in a lot of ways he doesn't fit the stereotype — he's not particularly arrogant or superior, he's not even ambitious. He does get touchy about being called wrong, or accused of making mistakes, but I don't think he's any worse than the others on that front (or more prone to making mistakes). But that indifference? His sort of general aloofness? He cares about himself, and his little circle, and watches his own back, and that's it. He doesn't dislike other people, but he doesn't care much either way. Foreman accuses him of being fake. Everyone accuses him of being morally vacant, an opportunist who will do anything if it improves his own situation. And… yeah. Kinda.

Asking Something of You
A/N: I wrote this like last week and in light of anything dropping tonight, I decided to post this. Not even sure I've processed anything that's happened in the manga recently, but I hope you enjoy! To make note, I don't blatantly drop big things in this (just light threads) but the last bit is post being boxed.
Pairing: Satoru Gojo x Reader
Summary: Four times Gojo asks something of you and the one time you ask something of him.
CW: Nothing in particular because I didn't want to make this one sad tbh.
I.
Your phone rang as you walked through a store with Shoko. It was the first real break either of you had in a while. “Are you busy?” asked the voice over the phone.
“Very busy,” you answered as you shifted a shopping bag to your other arm. Shoko looked at you and you smiled at her. As if she could telepathically understand who you were speaking to, she shook her head. Gojo hadn’t been around for some days, but you also didn’t want to abandon Shoko.
“Whyyy?” he whined. “It’s an emergency!”
“Call emergency services,” you said.
“But you’re the only person who can solve it,” he argued.
“What is it that you even need?” you asked him. You looked at the dresses that Shoko was pulling out and comparing. With every option, you would nod or shake your head.
“Wanna see you is all,” he said. Endearing, even if annoying.
“You can see me when I’m done with Ieiri today,” you said. “Until then, you can hang tight, right?”
“Not sure I’ll survive long enough,” he said.
“I promise I’ll give you all my time when I get back, okay?” you said.
“Fine,” he said. “But I get to pick what we do, okay?”
“It’s gonna be one of those cheesy movies, isn’t it?” you asked. You could already envision his smile at your question.
“100 percent,” he answered before hanging up.
II.
“(Y/N),” said Gojo over the phone. You stared at the clock in confusion. It was early in the morning.
“Hm? What do you need so early in the morning?” you mumbled. Your mind was half-awake as the other half fought to remain asleep.
“I need you to help me out,” he said. “I need to get Megumi and Tsumiki to school, but I also have to do a mission…” You recognized the names as the two kids that he’d adopted recently. You hadn’t met them just yet since they’d been adjusting to Gojo and you hadn’t wanted to overwhelm them too much with too many new people.
“Do you think it’s fine if I meet them?” you asked. You’d sat up on your bed and begun to move to get ready.
“I’d love it if you did,” he answered. “And I’d appreciate your help…you’re the only person I can trust.” He sounded tired.
“Okay,” you said as you pulled clothes out of your closet. “Send me the address and head over there after I get ready.”
“Thank you, I owe you,” he said.
“Don’t sweat it,” you said. “I’m happy to help.”
III.
"What is it?" you asked him. Your cup of coffee had gone cold ages ago. You'd barely taken a sip from it when Gojo waltzed into your classroom and just sat down without saying a word.
It was odd to see him so serious but the small frown on his face indicated that something was wrong. "There's a mole in our midst," he answered. Your eyebrows furrowed. Mole?
"Huh?" you said.
"Everything that's happened was too precise…like someone within our ranks has been leaking it," he said. You couldn't deny that.
"Any ideas?" you asked. You had no names. All of the students that you and Gojo shared were trustworthy. None of them seemed to be acting strange nor had you gotten suspicious or anything.
"Not yet. I'm gonna tell Utahime to be more cautious, though. What happened can't happen again. We got caught off guard. What if it'd been worse?" he asked. You didn't want to think about it. Yuji'd nearly been killed and the injuries that some of them had sustained weren't great.
Things were turning upside down so quickly. "I'll keep an eye out," you said. "I'm guessing that wasn't all you wanted to say?"
"I'm gonna head out and investigate some stuff. You willing to keep the fort down while I'm gone?" he said.
"Absolutely," you answered. You'd probably have to move around the upperclassmen to later in the day to fit in the underclassmen. Manageable. A bit annoying but manageable.
He got up and stretched before beginning to walk out. "Thanks, always know I can count on you," he said. "Oh, by the way, my phone will always be on in case you need anything."
"Take care of yourself!" you said as he waved goodbye.
IV.
“Satoru, you better take care of yourself,” you said angrily as you looked your husband in the eyes. Even leaning down, he was still so tall.
“You gonna miss me?” he teased.
“So much,” you answered. “That’s why you better take care of yourself, okay?” The two of you were splitting up to cover more ground. The sudden situation had taken a turn that none of you were expecting. But importantly, you had to find the students.
“Promise to call me if anything happens,” he said.
“I should be saying that to you!” you said.
“One more thing, if something were to happen to me, don’t act rashly,” said Gojo.
“You say that as if you know something, Satoru,” you said softly. You didn’t like to think of a possibility where he would get hurt.
“I don’t. But I also don’t want you getting hurt. If something were to happen to you…” You smiled at him.
“Nothing will. Just as you’ll be okay. We’ll meet back up once this is over and it’ll all be okay,” you reassured him. You turned to start heading off to find the others.
“Just promise me that you’ll take care of yourself,” he called out. You turned around and raised your thumbs up.
“I promise it,” you said. He smiled and disappeared.
V.
“Satoru,” you said. You didn’t know if you wanted to cry or smile at seeing him again. Your husband in the flesh in front of you again. His arms around you were real. His warmth was real. The tears that you’d pushed down while he’d been trapped away surfaced up.
“I’m sorry,” he said. “I shouldn’t be the reason you ever cry.”
“I’m just happy, Satoru,” you said. “I’m so happy that you’re right here…”
“You’re okay? You weren’t hurt too badly or anything?” he said as he pulled away. His eyes scanned your body quickly as if trying to find any injury.
“I’m fine now,” you said. “But Satoru, are you going to fight?” He nodded. There couldn’t be more time for the two of you right now.
“Promise me that you’ll come back, yeah?” you said.
“I will,” he said.
“I know,” you said. “So, go win.” He kissed your forehead before leaving you to go fight.
He’d win. He’d promised that he would.

I think both Steve and Robin initially *do* have a lil’ bit of ick RE each other being nude/seeing each other as sexual beings - BUT I also think that that is something they’d overcome fairly quickly.
(Robin moreso, actually. Once it really hits her that she can trust Steve, I think her view is very much “you’ve seen plenty of girls naked” and that can useful. Steve is more hesitant *because* he doesn’t want Robin to feel uncomfortable)
They’re best friends! Steve would absolutely want to consult Robin on certain things because she’s so smart (and this, along with the fact she figured her shit out before him, also means he tends to assume that she knows more/everything about lgbt-stuff). Robin would definitely want Steve’s opinion because he’s better at people than her and has more real world experience RE romance.
Also, RE the notebooks; Robin *absolutely* leaves Vickie/her girlfriend instructions on how to look after Steve when she has to go out of town. E.g. he needs to hear he’s objectively beautiful at least once a day. If you can ask him for help with chores or something so he feels useful.
oh yeah, there’s not 100 percent comfort immediately, they’re awkward teens lmao. but i think they find their way there fairly quickly, if only because i imagine they’re pretty honest with each other, and that brings about weird sexual questions haha.
i see it both ways tbh, like steve not wanting to make robin feel uncomfortable, but also robin hasn’t really had any experience with the opposite sex, so i could also see her being a bit more uncomfortable. i guess it just depends.
anyway, yeah, our girl robin is a bit of a hypochondriac. she’s had steve check out moles and weird spots, and a lump on her boob once (steve’s been around more!! surely he should know if something’s wrong lmao!). and who else better to ask awkward sex questions to than your best friend!
robin tells both vickie and steve that they need to check up on the other so they don’t get lonely lmao. it works the first few times, but eventually they figure out she’s putting them both on babysitting duty. but she just worries!!! she likes to know someone’s with them in case of an emergency.
but yeah, she’s got that day to day check up list prepped and ready baby. “he likes to feel useful. he doesn’t like cooking for one, so have dinner together at least a few times. he likes it when you notice if he’s done something new with his hair etc”

thinking about my specialist girl from the ground mudrock and i think its sooo funny that shes like somewhat wildly important to theresis’ plans of gathering sarkaz subraces because shes one of the only known gargoyle sarkaz still around and regardless of them being like fundamentally opposed on a lot of ground (mudrock would NEVER follow theresis) they still would be unable to work together because mudrock is Like That. All of the sarkaz in theresis’ court are these master manipulator lich king style tacticians who don’t even like theresis but are still working with him in order to create a better future for sarkaz and like if mudrock was in that court she would be playing advanced whack-a-mole with each of them whenever she isn’t just picking up random rocks and shit talking the kings behind their backs with said rocks. like even if mudrock was never found by rhodes island nor had any sort of debt to them she would still be opposed to theresis because he’d give his grand speech about uniting sarkaz and taking over the world and mudrock irrelevant of any disillusions she already had with reunion would be able to tell hes not like the Actual king of sarkaz and just go “skill issue tbh”
i bet theresis is gonna light up like its christmas when he reads the latest intelligence report of whatever scouts/spys he has a rhodes islands and has to read “a gargoyle sarkaz was confirmed to have residence at rhodes island” and then immediately sigh with the tiredness of a man centuries more his age when he reads the rest of the report “she was spotted filling her suit with mud and sloshing through the halls. when asked, she said this was to let her friends walk around for a bit.” and then utterly SEETHE when the report ends with “she was also confirmed to be interested in the doctor and want to take them and, by her own words, ‘give them the volcanic heat pelvic crusher’.“

Well,If Are we talking about rareships,I HAVE A LOT but i will chose 3.
Flippy X The Mole,Russell X Cuddles and Disco Bear X Lammy.Just because i see them more interesting to talk.
HI SORRY FOR TAKING FOREVER WITH THESE BUT IM HERE NOW
Anyways ima list these out ig
Flippy x Mole- tbh i've never thought abt this, but they seem very cute!! Canonically Flippy has never hurt Mole (if you ignore that one deleted scene in the flippin burgers episode) and so I think already flippy respects Mole and wouldn't ever hurt him. PLUS they are very old man yaoi coded. A blind ex-spy and a war veteran? They would probably settle down together after their very dramatic past, and would live happily married in the tree town
Russell x Cuddles- IVE BEEN MEANING TO POST ART OF THEM BUT ITS MOSTLY WIPS SRY! Anyways, i think they would initially hate each other cause theyre both exes of Giggles, so they would compete to "win giggles back" or some dumb hetero shit. I think Cuddles would think Russell is some "big dumb tough guy that's just some dumb pirate", and Russell would think Cuddles is an annoying shit head. HOWEVER, they would probably argue and fight a lot until they decide to actually talk stuff out, then either:
A) they forgive each other and become friends, then lovers or
B) They hate-make out. Either way a win-win
DB x Lammy- also never thought abt them! Personally I think Lammy is very weird girl-coded, so she would have a creepy demeanor to her cause shes been to jail and others can't tell if shes a murderer or if Mr. Pickels is killing anyone. ANYWAYS, I think because of that she doesnt have a lot of people shes close to. DB is a HUGE loser so he would flirt with anybody, and tbh I think Lammy would dig a boy failure like DB

Since you’ve got some time, I’m gonna ask you a quick question about c!Annika and Keith;
What do you think they’d argue about the most, regarding their jobs? I mean at the end of the day, Keith’s got the final say, and she respects him enough not to be herself (as in jump him or something), but it doesn’t mean Annika’s not gonna go down without a fight.
ALSO THIS IS KINDA UNRELATED BUT How does Keith’s trauma impact his relationships with the people around him, and the thoughts he has surrounding those people? Does he ever, god forbid, cry about it or anything?
Hello - I was going to have answered this sooner but I ended up having to help a friend out 'cause of some stuff that came up. Now I'm back home, I can dedicate that spare time I had ;u;
Ok, so, I reckon they would mostly argue about who to delegate missions out to - as Annika would be Keith's best operator and most trusted, she is almost always the first person that would come to mind for him. But, sometimes, there is need for a little more stealth and little less destruction. He knows she is capable of it, but sometimes he questions whether she wants to be capable of being stealthy.
I can imagine that maybe they're in a briefing, they're talking about a new contact or discussing a new piece of intel, just something that might given the faction the upper-hand in their endeavour to achieve the goals of the original Perseus. For the first time in a while, the first operator out of his mouth to set on this task isn't Annika. Perhaps she would be annoyed he's trusting someone else with it? Maybe it's someone she would have chosen to be the last person suited to the task. You can bet that she'd call him out on his decision if she thought it stupid, maybe even in front of people.
Keith wouldn't like that.
He appreciates that she'll have an opinion and if she disagrees, he'd gladly hear her out, but don't undermine him.
They'd probably hash it out privately, discuss why they chose or don't choose that operator. After all, he trusts her opinion and instinct, but like you say, he is also in charge. He'll take her considerations on board and might revise the plan.
I think this would also count for actually devising plans, discussing tactics - Keith prefers the covert, the stealth, the working in the shadows and being secretive. He'd rather be the kind of person who sneaks in and out without a trace - he worked as a mole for the better part of his time in the faction, so he's used to that. Whereas Annika is a little more... explosive, should we say XD their ways of approaching things might cause some arguments. Again, as a leader and his top operator, they're able to compromise if compromise can be achieved, or respect the decision made despite disagreeing.
With regard to his trauma?
That is a superb fucking question. I love it.
So, Keith's trauma is centred around both of his parents, but mainly his father and his treatment of him.
Because of his mother's intermittent apathy and then babying of him (mostly in a very mocking way when he'd get upset about his father's treatment), Keith actually resents women if they remind him of her. As a general rule, though, and this is probably due to how his mother acted and treated him growing up, he'd come to believe that women are only good for a limited number of things - pretty sexist, tbh. Sees them probably as weaker than him in more ways than one etc.
Don't get me wrong, there are very few women that would be the exception to the rule, but generally he regards women very poorly.
The biggest trauma, though, is his father.
Because of how his father treated him, alienated him, made Keith feel like his very existence was baseless and unfortunate, he grew up chasing after validation and support to the most harrowing extremes. Hell, wanting acceptance for who he was literally pushed him into accepting terrorist ideology and giving up on the country he was born in.
But it also left much deeper scars.
Any male that might step in as a father figure and show support could easily exploit Keith as he would be blinded by that broken inner child begging for acceptance. Perseus could have patted him on the shoulder, told him 'good job' and he would have gladly burned down the entire world to hear it again. It would be the same for other males that might show a smidgeon of acceptance, that take notice of him trying his best to 'do right by his roots'. It's fucking wild, but he'd probably have that annoying little brother relationship with people like Stitch.
On the other hand, Keith would literally murder a guy for treating him even a fraction like what his father did. You have a mercenary that makes a snide comment about him? Keith would see that as them calling him weak, seeing him as an outsider, and he wouldn't hesitate to walk over an sock the guy, maybe even something more violent.
Keith is capable of causing someone the worst kind of torturous harm if they cross him in a way that reminds him of that deep-seated trauma. It's probably best to just leave him to it.
Keith also has cried about it, especially when he was younger, until one day he decided to stop.
"Men don't cry." He'd think. "Men do not cry."
essentially, he turned his emotions off. They didn't really serve him.
Any emotion you see if probably fake, unless you can work past that barrier and wiggle your way deep into his conscience.

so…that avatar show, huh?
me no likely:
they made aang leaving an accident. like he didn't deliberately try to run away from his problems, it was just coincidence on a midnight fly and he even says he will go back when he clears his head (then everyone else frames it as intentional??? Even himself???)
Kataras character literally feels like her ember island counterpart and made her perfect and I hate that she doesn't get mad at aang talent at all because she can't be TOO MEAN NOOO WHATEVER WILL WE DO IF SHE HAS FLAWS??? OR A REALISTIC REACTION TO FRUSTRATION OF NOT BEING ABLE TO DO SOMETHING SHE VALUES A LOT CUZ ITS HARD??? (took away all of her development about having to be the bigger person and gave it to sokka??? Fun loving joking sokka??? Even tho it ties in with her toph conflict later?)
jet blows up things with jelly and hurt civilians but…the entire point of jet was that he hurt people who did nothing wrong and there was definitely fire benders doing something wrong so he can justify his actions?? And the entire point was that he needed to REALIZE his actions were unforgivable before moving on from his vengeance to ba sing se?But now he does nothing wrong because we can't have the pretty boy terrorist be TO00000 BAD
i get that we are supposed to emphasize the power of friendship thing in the bumi episode but it just seems like instead of aang realizing he is going to make hard choices with no right answer his friends take that decision/responsibility AWAY from him? And the point in the show is that while he cant rely on others and has to do it alone???
azula sounds like she's complaining about zuko like a normal teenager gossiping to her friends even tho her entire beach episode was emphasizing how she is NOT A REGULAR KID AND DOESNT ACT LIKE IT. Or being mad zuko got banished and got himself an opportunity? No azula only cares about her dads orders/approval at this point she doesn't take zuko seriously as a threat? She was glad he was gone and tried to take him prisoner? Complaining that she is "risking her life undercover?" Did we watch??? The same source material???
would have been so easy to show badger moles and benders but noooo lets just make them savage animals that don't react to VIBRATIONS AT ALL ya know THE EARTHBENDING TECHNIQUE
why the hell is kyoshi getting mad at aang for not fighting WHEN SHE IS TRAPPING HIM IN A DREAM TO LECTURE HIM INSTEAD OF LETTING HIM FIGHT??
Good!
Never recovering from zuko and leaves on the vine playing at the same time
at least sokka got some development?? It could have been worse tbh
I like that they explained the avatar possession stuff can only happen in certain places
my cabbages made everything worth it
giving iroh and lu ten a bit more depth! I like that everyone subtly framed it in a good way but zuko was more empathetic
im a mixed bag on how they handled suki (great to show that she is unsociable from being an isolated warrior all her life but I hated that they just…beat up sokka for no reason by taking out his misogyny arc…. And didn’t frame it as a bad enough thing?? And then they just… got over it? With no real apology? Cuz it’s fine now that they think the other one is hot!! Problems solved!!!)
i like that they made jet and kataras relationship less “ooooo hot bad boy!!!” And more a mutual relationship (then they threw it out the window for no reason cuz JET IS BAD BUT NOT TOO BAD! KATARA NEEDS TO GIRLBOSS!!!! U guys can make empathic characters while still making them bad not giving him misogyny problems he never had???)
sokka and katara sibling moments? They were okay
(I’ll update when I watch more)

for the ask game, spy x family 🕶💣
Sorry for the delay! I got ambushed by rl and then ambushed myself for several more days and-- anyway, I had to put this under the cut because it got long. Thanks for asking!
my favorite female character
yor yor yor. I like her for a few reasons, but I think the main thing is just generally her main emotional arc thus far. how she wants to 'belong' but how she also needs to 'fit in' and how it also circles around the idea of normality. she thinks she wants to be normal when what she wants is to be accepted. and she knows she needs to be *seen* as normal for safety reasons (sth sth societal commentary even outside of the cold war backdrop) but she doesn't understand *how*. what does it mean to be a mother and to be a wife and what aspects of that does she want to fulfill for herself and which is she just doing because it's part of her cover.
she has all these needs and wants and hasn't yet figured out how to even begin untangling them. and despite that, she's still one of the most emotionally intelligent characters in the series.
my favorite male character
loid. he's the obvious option but still. I always tend to appreciate the anxious types and whilst technically all of the main three have their own little anxiety spirals, loid's way of overcomplicating things is my favourite. he's a very intriguing mix of anxiety, denial, and competence.
I am very much enjoying the length of time it's taking to wear him down. we only got full confirmation he's actively compromised as of the mole arc which is super recent but for me the pacing is just right. he has to earn that character development and be dragged through kicking and screaming.
my favorite book/season/etc
volume 10 (starts with [redacted] arc and has some good handler moments (though I *think* my favourite handler chapter is later on))
my favorite episode (if its a tv show)
genuinely not sure. I do think the very first episode has a really good mix of comedy and earnestness with a hint of the underlying tragedy in growing up during wartime. it spells out everything to expect down the line in a very nicely balanced way
my favorite cast member
I... don't know? I think for Yor's VA this is my favourite role of hers whilst Anya's VA I prefer most as Frieren but like. IDK tbh. Can I skip?
my favorite ship
Not super into shipping in this fandom, but overall, I'd say twiyor. the fact that it's a 'fake' relationship but they enter into it on honest enough terms that they actually make something really healthy for both of them out of it. they each mutually get something out of it too.
yor wants to be useful. she's grown up providing for yuri and now he's gone all she has left is her job, but this 'relationship' and her new family give her the opportunity to *do* something. to defend and protect her people. and to give her someone to confide in, where she's never had that before.
for twilight, he's always been planning and preparing for all possibilities. always acting, never letting anyone see what's beneath, until he had forgotten even himself. one of my fave twiyor moments was in the recent chapter where twilight gets home and immediately his legs give out, because he feels *safe*. he's let his guard down with yor and even if he's worried about being compromised, he let it down because he trusts in her character. the remedy for someone so full of masks is someone devoid of them, and for all that yor is the thorn princess, she has never faked *who* she is.
and tying back to what I was saying about yor and normality before. the fact that loid knows what it's like to pretend means that he's in the position to tell yor that she's good as she is. she doesn't *need* to fake her whole personality to fit in. sure, they both have their covers, but for the large part, what's beneath is genuine.
a character I’d die defending
I think nightfall's character may not be as developed as most people would like at this stage, but the way she's written is very deliberate. she's a compare/contrast with yuri (and also to some extent, with twilight) and she shows how love and obsession intertwine. how *obsession* can be dangerous. the mole arc to me is waving a big red flag above nightfall's head and saying that if she doesn't change something, if she keeps metaphorically diving headfirst in front of twilight, then she's going to end up the one riddled with bullets.
a character I just can’t sympathize with
not that we're likely supposed to but donovan desmond
a character I grew to love
handler! it's not that I ever disliked her as such, but for a long time she just seemed a kind of girlboss-esque character with a neat character design. she had her moments (bond arc speech and also propaganda chapter my beloved), but it wasn't until we had her focus chapter where we followed her day that I was like "oh." Like, I knew that she'd lost her family, but I was falling for the facade that she was on top of everything. And the realisation that she wasn't? That she was deep in depression, but you know who might dig her out of it? Her pet dog and a little girl. Definitely got to me.
my anti otp
anti otp is a bit strong a feeling for it, but I think the way I read damianya differs from a decent chunk of the fandom. I tend to see it as one-sided and am perfectly happy for it to stay that way or for them to just end up becoming better friends down the line, but I know what I'm against here so I'm not going to place any bets.

Nashira Headcannons | AC Mirage OC
I guess these technically aren't headcannons since I wrote this character, but you get what I mean. These are little details about Nashira that didn't make it into the final story. Plus, I hope it's something that'll hold y'all over till I finish some of those other drabbles. Enjoy!
Nashira is an Arabic name meaning “the lucky one” or “bearer of good news”. It’s also the Arabic name of a star in the Capricorn constellation. I like to think Khalid named her after a favorite constellation of his <3
Halah is an Arabic name for “the aura of light around the moon”
I feel like Nashira would be the type to need glasses, but according to my research glasses weren’t invented yet in the 9th century. So Instead she uses a magnifying glass for words written in small print.
Nashira didn’t have many children to play with when she was younger so she mostly spent her days reading and playing with stray cats
I imagine she’d have a hard time relating to kids her own age. If other kids were talking about toys and games, Nashira wouldn’t really know what they were talking about. The same could be said when she’d talk about star charts and math equations.
She has a MASSIVE sweet tooth. Her favorite foods are candied fruits, namely dates. While her father spoils her with them (cause he likes them too tbh) he gets on to her about eating only snacks and not proper meals.
She’s 100% a grazer lol Who needs proper meals when you have studying to do, amirite? (AN: seriously though, you should try to eat proper meals especially if you’re studying. And drink lots of water!!!)
Nashira is notoriously messy and unorganized, as opposed to her father who is very neat and tidy. He gets on to her about not keeping her desk tidy only to clean it up for her anyway.
She’s one of those “I have a system and it works for me.” kind of people
I imagine her and Basim are the exact same age, whatever that is in the game lol. I know he’s 17 in the beginning of the game, so I imagine they’d meet at age 15 or 16
As for when Basim returns to Baghdad it’s not super clear how much time passes but I kind of just peg Basim and Nashira to be about 20-21 during the events of the game
One thing she liked about Basim is that he’s just as interested in learning more about the world around them as she is. She likes how he adds his own unique perspective on topics she’s only really discussed with people of a similar background to her.
Plus he’s kind of a “bad boy” and she thinks thats cool lol (teenagers amirite?)
Her most defining physical trait would be the many moles on her face, the biggest one being just above her left eyebrow. She’s always raising that eyebrow when she makes faces and I think that’s something Basim would adore haha
She raises a brow at him alot cause he’s always doing something cheeky
She doesn’t throw tantrums when she doesn’t get her way, but she will do a lot of huffing and puffing (as a kid she’d even stomp her foot if she’s really worked up).
That's all I got so far. My ask box is open if y'all have any other questions about her or anything to do with my fic Star-Crossed. I'd be happy to answer as long as it's not something that'll show up in a drabble I'm writting lol

5 Plot Twists I Want To See In Mysterious Lotus Casebook
1.) first and foremost, I really, really want Di Feisheng and Fang Duobing to become close. Not only would it complete the iron triangle little found family they’re all pretending not to be building, but it would be a great sign of growth in both characters. I don’t need them to be perfectly harmonious—tbh that would be too weird—but I feel like Feisheng is dancing around the edge of being reluctantly amused by and even fond of this impulsive kid who his ex old nemesis worries over so much, and Duobing seems to keep forgetting that Feisheng is The Worst until Feisheng does something that fits into his suspicions. The kid who grew up in an almost suffocatingly sheltered environment, totally unaware of his good fortune, and the kid who grew up in a literal hellscape that taught him all the worst things—I want them to find middle ground. Lianhua could finally catch a break for five minutes or they could bond over annoying him.
2.) I don’t want Duobing to fall in love with the princess and vice versa Right now it feels like they’re setting us up for those tropey shows where they meet and are soooo antagonistic but then they find love slowly through hijinks blahblahblah DULL bc neither of them wanted to marry each other and it feels like a cop-out to have that. I want the princess to get to have her own adventures! Maybe she can hang out with Qiao Wanmian and they can bond over dodging a bullet with fiancés.
3.) I’m of the opinion that something extremely shady is going on at Baichuan Academy AND Tianji Manor, and while it’s good to have an institution that goes between sects, BA needs serious reforms and changes. I want Qiao Wanmian to lead it. Zijin is welcome to fall in line or fuck off.
4.) This is potentially controversial, but I don’t think they should reform Sigu Sect at all. It’s so tied to the various biased memories of a small group, misinformed rumors and legends, a former leader who does not want to lead anymore and his protege who wants to be free, not tied down to leadership or admin. I propose that if anything, a totally new sect be formed—one that takes in the young hopefuls from Sigu, the abandoned Feisheng adherents (because I sincerely doubt they were all baddies, just manipulated), and others who haven’t found a place. This was the best of Xiangyi—his desire to help others and build a good place for them—and it could be a positive way to actually honor the legacy of LXY and co.
5.) I think a really good full circle with the mysterious “Master” behind it all could be either Shan Gudao (bc what the shit was going on 10 years ago???) or the evil guy from Di sect that hurt Feisheng as a child. I’m not totally clear on the Nanyin subplot, but I think there are more moles than we have been led to believe so far.
Feel free to sound off with the plot twists you want to see!!!
