Hey i dont know if this makes sense but i love your bibleposting because it actually humanizes the bible and the people in it? I was raised in a fundamentalist christian church where everything was untouchable and there was no room for interpretation and ive been trying to deconstruct and idk after being told youre nothing because youre just human its so nice to see interpretations of the bible that are about people as much as they are about god
I guess im trying to say thank you for doing that and thank you for being cool lol also your art fucking rocks
Ahh thank you <3 I'm about to go on a slight rant, but I think that's where me and my parents fundamentally disagree about it haha. While it is a sacred text, it's also a historical/ancient book that's been cowritten by many different authors in a language I -- and I can probably guarantee my pastor-- don't speak. It's been translated and rewritten several different times, and has been cherrypicked through by men who are now probably dead to determine what's canon and not. It's fine to regard it as a holy text, but it isn't above discernment or interpretation. The pastor tells us his interpretation of it, and suddenly every other reading is wrong? That isn't a discussion at all. It's a Bible study not a Bible lecture. The bible and its scripture should not be untouchable, to claim it so is to speak for god
Okay rant over. I love humanizing characters! If the authors of the bible were so touched by their encounter with god that they wrote down pages and pages of it, then I find it fascinating to explore their experience. Not to bring up good omens but I just finished watching it so I will, but when they bring up that job loved his children, they were right. Did Job not love his former children? Did Isaac want to die? Didn't Moses feel anxious having to return to Egypt? Elijah was afraid. Jesus didn't want to die. Jesus was afraid. Exploring the humanity in these stuff is so interesting because in reducing a man to a myth, you make it so they are no longer a man. We can't live up to myths. We're human

I will never move on from how not only did the Crows steal the tank from the Ice Court, but the entire time Wylan is smiling to himself and then absolutely LOSES IT once they've escaped. Like the crew has just stolen a tank from a high-security prison, narrowly escaping death, but Wylan physically can't stop laughing and is quite literally snorting with laughter at the image of the Fjerdans firing uselessly in the tank's direction with the Fjerdan might banner caught in its treads. He could have died but he's laughing hysterically at how stupid the Fjerdans look as they failed to prevent literal children (who have STOLEN ONE OF THEIR TANKS) from escaping their high-security prison. This has got to be one of my favourite underrated Wylan moments.

Eddie steals the Hope Diamond; spicy six heist au
"I thought the centerpiece of this museum was a t-rex skeleton. What’s an elephant doing here?”, Eddie asked.
“That’s Night at the Museum, man. You’re thinking of the movie”, Jonathan said from next to him.
“Kinda disappointed to be honest. I go right you go left?”
Jonathan went to the left of the entrance while Eddie went right. Nancy was speaking to them both through earpieces. Getting a map of the museum was a fine way to get a general layout. But nothing beat getting actual feet on the ground.
Eddie moved around, letting the traffic of the museum move him. He knew he was moving in a non-linear fashion, but it was hard not to double back when he saw an interesting diorama or model.
“Eddie, don’t get distracted”, Nancy warned.
“Who me? Perish the thought”, he said, fully intending to do recon in the fossil exhibit, only to pass by the hall of gems and minerals. He let out a low whistle.
“I know who you would be perfect for”, he murmured to himself. But Nancy could hear him loud and clear through the earpiece.
“Eddie…we are not stealing the Hope Diamond.”
Eddie liked jewelry. And he liked Steve. Scratch that, he loved Steve. And he loved putting him in pretty things. That diamond necklace was a very pretty thing.
“It can be our little secret Nancy. I wanna surprise Steve with something nice.”
“Then buy him a legit diamond with your cut. We have a client that we need to keep happy.”
“I can multitask.” There was quite the crowd around the diamond, watching as it rotated in its case. Obviously he knew it wouldn’t be easy to lift it, even with their team. But they were already going to be in the museum to steal something from the Ancient Egypt exhibit. Why not get something else on the way out?
He and Jonathan finished cruising the museum and returned to the apartment space they were currently using to plan this job.
As expected, Nancy had a map of the whole place, all floors included spread out on a large table in the living room.
“We start at 1200 hours”, Nancy said. “By the end of this, we should have some T-rex teeth and have enough to pad our accounts for quite some time. Eddie, did you get a good look at the teeth.”
“I did. Between me and Bucks, we should have some decent replicas in time.”
Nancy nodded. “Don’t forget to reference Jonathan’s pics too. We need them to be flawless.”
“Alright, so everybody know their parts?”, Robin asked.
“I’m one part of the distraction with a pizza delivery”, Argyle said. “Once the guy’s out there, I keep him occupied for as long as I can.”
“Jonathan and I will handle the security cameras. We go in, knock ‘em out, and make sure it switches to our pre-made loop”, Steve said while twirling a pen in his hand.
“Steve keeps guard by the door and I keep an eye on the cameras. If we need any interception, he’ll run point”, Jonathan added.
“Once everything’s set, Big Wheel and I will do the switcheroo”, Eddie illustrated by juggling some of the stones he’d bought at the gift shop. None of with were as eye-catching as the diamond.
“Once we bag the teeth, we meet up with Robin in the van and then we’re out”, Nancy said.
Argyle raised his hand up for a high five which Jonathan answered. “And another one in the books.”
Steve pulled Eddie away from the others into the kitchen and gently pressed him against the fridge. Eddie initiated a kiss, ready for some lovin’. Going over a plan always got Steve hot for some reason. Not that he was complaining.
But then Steve pulled away and looked him in the eyes. “Nancy said you’re planning on doing something stupid.”
Ah, this was an interrogation.
“Is it stupid to act on my desires and do what I please?”
“Is this like the art museum where you just had to touch that Pollock painting?”, Steve asked.
Eddie avoided his eyes. “Something like that.” If Steve kept at it, he would end up telling him everything. And he wanted it to be a surprise. He just knew the look on his love’s face when he presented the necklace would be worth more than all the gems in the world.
He cradled Steve’s face and kissed him and then kissed him again. “Just trust me, baby.”
He’d never do anything to put Steve in danger. And he wouldn’t do this if he didn’t think he could swing it.
As Nancy had planned, the op began at midnight. The pizza gambit, which Nancy had only been 40% sure would work, actually did. When Steve and Jonathan successfully made it to the surveillance room and took over, she breathed a sigh of relief. Now she only had to worry about the wild card in the group. Eddie pretty much always deferred to her leadership. But anything regarding Steve was like invoking impulse.
Nancy was working on removing the first tooth when she saw Eddie looking up at the cameras. He bit his lip and then turned to her.
“I gotta do it.”
“You realize it’s stupid and reckless, right?”, she said in a whisper but kept her eyes on the fossil.
“Love makes you crazy. But I don’t need to remind you. Madrid ring any bells?”
Nancy paused in her work. Madrid, right. “Just don’t get caught or it really will be like Madrid.”
Eddie was already making his way from the fossils to the gems. He turned his earpiece on.
“Robin, Jonathan, mind giving me a little help?”
“Holy shit”, Jonathan hissed, pulling Steve’s attention from the door.
“Nancy was right, you are stupid”, Robin said with a shake of her head as she watched the feed from the van.
“What is it? What’s Eddie doing?”, Steve asked, coming over to look at the monitors.
Jonathan changed the one Eddie was on just in time. “He’s uh, taking a little detour.”
“I’m going. Where is he?”
“Steve, stay focused”, Nancy said. “Eddie will be fine.”
They heard footsteps and Steve’s head whipped towards the door. Thankfully, he was already changed into a guard’s outfit. He stuck his head out and saw a guard headed their way. If he looked in the room, he’d see two unconscious dudes on the floor and two guys who didn’t belong there.
Steve came out and closed the door.
“Hey!”
“Hey”, Steve replied.
“What’re you doing here?”
“What am I-? What am I doing here? Why are you speaking to me like that? Like you don’t know me?”
“Because I don’t”, the guard said.
Steve let his shoulders sag a little and made his eyes a little bigger. “I know what he made was kind of a fling but I thought...I don’t know maybe it could be something more.” The guard looked taken aback but not indignant. Good. “You really don’t remember me?”
“I think I’d remember a face like yours.”
Eddie listened while Steve flirted and it both made him proud and made him burn with jealousy. He’d have just the thing to show him who he belonged to later.
He knew Nancy was done when he heard two clicks. Eddie had closed the necklace up in a box prepared just for the occasion. When he rendezvoused up with Nancy, her eyes narrowed at the box.
“So you were going to do it anyway.”
“You know me, I’m like a dog with a bone.”
They got to the van and were shortly joined by Argyle.
“How was having the easiest job today?”, Robin asked.
“Easy, my ass.”
“Yeah, your ass. All you had to do was smoke with a security guard”, Eddie said.
“It was so goddamn tedious. He just went on and on about Robocop.”
Jonathan and Steve returned just about a minute after and Eddie immediately pulled Steve into his lap.
“There’s my baby.”
“And that’s officially another one in the books”, Argyle said, high fiving with Robin. “Celebration dinner?”
“I’m in the mood for French”, Robin said.
“If you guys are going out, you can drop me and Steve off at the apartment”, Eddie said while stroking his thigh.
The other groaned but Robin made her way there anyway. If going over the plan made Steve hot, a successful one with no hitches made him hornier than anything. He was already kissing at Eddie’s neck so he wasn’t sure what they were surprised by.
The others took off for dinner, leaving them alone with the fossil teeth to deliver in exchange for cash in the morning. Steve had Eddie pressed against a wall, kissing him but this time Eddie pulled away.
“I got a gift for you, gorgeous.”
“Hm?”
“But I need you to strip first.” All he needed was Steve. Anything else would get in the way of his beauty.
Steve smirked and turned away from Eddie. Just to be cheeky, he took off his shoes and socks first. Then he turned away and took off his shirt while heading to their room. He left a trail of clothes behind him, which Eddie dutifully picked up so he wouldn’t be chewed out by Nancy later.
When he got to the room, Steve was perched on the edge of the bed, one knee up to his chest.
Eddie almost forgot his actual intention and took him right there.
“Well? My gift?”, Steve reminded him.
“Right, right. The gift.” Eddie dropped the clothes and got the box. He got down on his knees and opened up the case, presenting the necklace.
“Eddie..”, Steve’s voice was breathless and he sat a little straighter. “You didn’t...”
“I did, baby. I saw it and I thought of you.”
Eddie got up and sat behind Steve to put it on him. He kissed his nape once he was done and Steve turned so he could get the full visual.
“How do I look?”
It was as Eddie had suspected. The hope diamond was a nice piece of finery on its own. But on the neck of the most handsome man in the world, it truly shined. Eddie could understand why a blue rock had been coveted for so long.
“You make it look so good”, Eddie said before leaning in for a kiss. Honestly it was like the necklace had been made for Steve specifically. As Steve laid out under him, Eddie got to observe the work of art he was. God, he deserved to be immortalized.
“If this was just a regular gift, I wonder how you’re gonna top it when you propose”, Steve teased as he lifted Eddie’s shirt over his head.
“Sweet thing for your engagement ring, I’m giving you the moon.”
Steve’s peal of laughter turned into sighs as Eddie nipped at his chest around the necklace. He didn’t doubt that Eddie would at least try a moon heist. He just wondered how much grief the others would give them for it.

I have a life-long goal to recreate (at home) the food I eat in restaurants. and one of the sub-goals of that big goal is to get good at making vegan ramen broth. there are three vegan ramens from 3 different restaurants I've been trying to recreate and tonight, I think I cracked the code. there is room for improvement, but it dawned on me that two of the three restaurants almost CERTAINLY use tomato, which I haven't tried in my homemade recipes before tonight. tonight I also added homemade almond milk INSTEAD of coconut milk and it definitely has the flavor profile I was looking for. I also added yellow squash to my broth and I think it helped balance out the other vegetables.
Overall I used:
Handful of shiitake mushrooms, cut in strips, added to the hot pan (without oil) to release moisture and cook. Then I added a generous amount of olive oil and...
One large white onion, two bulbs of garlic, one bunch of celery, four large carrots (all chopped) (salt added) -> cooked until reduced
Then I added water, brought it up to heat, simmered for about 30 min and added:
Two yellow squash (chopped), 6 campari tomatoes (blended in water), added ginger powder, more salt, pepper, soy sauce). Then simmered for an hour.
At the end I added sesame oil, homemade almond milk (almonds blended in water and strained), and chili oil
And for now, I think it's one of my most successful broths, without requiring homemade/store-bought vegetable broths or bouillon

My friend dragged me back into hetalia but I offer you- in-universe meme thought of just Alfred's tiktok. He's linking an 40 page google doc of Matt's crimes in his bio. Gilbert also has one but it's literally just Britney Broski's tiktok but Gilbert.
haha, I've had the headcanon for awhile that Alfred is legally not allowed to use tiktok or any other social media site that isn't American-owned and operated. there's already a federal law banning installation of tiktok (specifically tiktok, not just foreign social media) on government devices, and imo re: hetalia Alfred would be explicitly included in that bill. it would be the' No TikTok on Government or Alfred F. Jones's Devices Act' lol. sorry baby boy, the Senate said NO.
he could have other social media though, and he's probably a very regular user. he also likes to livestream a lot; he'll go down to the National Mall in DC and basically do a livestream tour of the Smithsonian and federal buildings/monuments etc. and the zoo. and wherever the hell else he feels like provided the Department of Defense doesn't yell at him for it.
also he has a podcast with Matthew except instead of it being a proper podcast in a studio, it's just a recording of their conversation during fishing trips. one episode was two hours' worth of Alfred trying to convince Matthew to go catfishing with just his bare hands or, as it is regionally known, noodling. I think Matthew would prefer the bio link to a 40 page document of his crimes tbh.
I can't comment on the latter for Gilbert because I don't have tiktok and don't know any tiktok content creators ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I like to portray Gilbert as largely blind, so I'd have to go pester the visually impaired community with questions before answering because I'm really not sure the details of how some social media sites compare to others when it comes to accessibility.

I low-key think we might be overthinking the whole "Beatrice real first name" thing. I think she really is just Beatrice.
First indicator of this is Lilith. When we meet her mom in s2, she still calls her Lilith. Of course, that could potentially be hand-waved as her mother either respecting or preferring Lilith's religious name because of the expectation that she would be the next Halo Bearer.
The next in-show indicator would be Duretti. When Cardinals become Pope, they're supposed to pick a new name. For example, Cardinal Bergoglio became Pope Francis. Cardinal Maffeo Barberini became Pope Urban VIII. So, Cardinal Duretti should have been Pope <smth else>.
In irl history, yes, nuns adopting religious names began as far back as the sixth century. However, in 1962, Pope John XXIII called the Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican (or simply, Vatican II) to, essentially, update the Church so it can better connect with people. It took a few years for this particular change to occur but after 1969, nuns were allowed to use their baptismal names. It's a matter of preference.
Also, the "Mary <name>" thing I saw some people float around for the OCS sisters in general, I just want to point out that that particular practice was usually done only by congregations that were named after the Virgin Mary which... the OCS is not.
But, don't let all this stop you from giving or implying that Beatrice has a different name in your fics! As mentioned, it's a matter of preference, so you can 100% still have Beatrice choose to renounce her old name and go by a new religious name instead. It being her choice rather than a requirement of the OCS would add some interesting layers. I especially like the ones that have Beatrice's name come from the patron saint of prisoners, St. Beatrice da Silva. It's a neat idea! But yeah, the circumstances behind the religious name thing would change some things up a bit like context, etc.

Given that Renfield tears a window out in order to escape and meet Dracula, climbs out of it (like Jonathan and Dracula), has strength rivaling Dracula's when wrestling him (like both Dracula and Jonathan lifting the same needs-12-men weight), and talks about "a madman's strength"... could it be that Jonathan's strength is meant to show that he's a "madman" too?
The lines between madness and the supernatural are blurred in the book, after all.
Madness, the supernatural, love, and the definitions of humanity versus monstrosity are all a huge delicious gothic soup in this book
Whatever Renfield's specific deal was, it didn't brush quite the same potential causes as Jonathan--if Dracula had been drinking from him, his ultimate death would have resulted in another vampire--and his great strength was shown as a factor well before he even got within arm's reach of the Count.
I personally think that, on top of the all protein bug-and-bird diet, our guy Renfield was ripped. Maybe the bugs and birds were taking Victorian steroids, who knows? But it's just as likely he was a muscly guy overall. What really interests me is
1) How he seemed able to tune in to/be affected by Dracula's presence the way local animals were able to (hello, PISSED dogs of England), and
2) Where all his intel on the Drac Attack Pack came from. He was a bit too canny for it all to come from gossip before or after being institutionalized
Not a vampire. Not even whatever Jonathan developed into. But Mr. R.M. Renfield was something unique before he died. What that was is anyone's guess

sorry, can you go into why you dislike some of the fandom/the author of heartstopper? im a lowkey fan but want to be aware of anything unsavory if you don’t mind sharing
of course! i like the comics and the show, but i don't really like being too active in the fandom because there are so many terrible takes/opinions on the characters and dynamics from people who clearly don't understand the story well, and these same people forced kit connor to come out and harassed several actors on the crew of the heartstopper tv show. (here's also a fair amount of fandom racism and sexism, but that's common in lots of other fandoms too)
in alice oseman's case, there was an interview where they started talking badly about asian dramas (specifically BL's) because they "weren't wholesome" like the stuff she makes (which would be white centric media, and that is quite racist) and has made several claims stating that her story is "revolutionary" because it has no sexual topics (you would know this is false if you engage with the comics and not the show) which isn't inherently wrong because sex is morally neutral and the characters are teenagers, but that statement just comes off the wrong way (to me at least)

Hello! Hate to bother you with something again, but-
do you have any more thoughts on Kledinger? If so I would like to hear them all <3
I, UH-
HAVE A SURPRISING AMOUNT OF THOUGHTS FOR THEM, DESPITE THE LACK OF CONTENT.
Tumblr media
You'd have to narrow it down more.
I guess something I've been thinking about lately is what would happen that would lead to them getting along. (Got a whole idea on how they first met where Heimer gets stranded in Noxus, and the only reason Kled doesn't just kill him at first is 'cause of Skaarl.)
Like...
Kled doesn't like city folk, but it comes from his experiences with Noxian city folk. Operating through their underhanded deals and tactics, holding onto their knowledge to use at the right time to stab others in the back in order to make it to the top.
Y'know, like how the Black Rose operates.
One time Heimer's telling a group of bandits they just defeated about how his device works or whatever strategy he used to get the drop on them. Going into his professor mode and sharing everything. (They all have no clue what he's talking about, but who knows maybe one is trying to follow.)
Then Kled pulls him aside like, "??? THE HELL'RE YOU DOIN'?! Y'know folks are gunna use this shit against you!"
And Heimer responds with something like, "... Hmm. Well, I suppose if they do, I'll just have to be smarter than them, won't I? It might even be a valuable learning experience!"
So Heimer resumes his lil lesson, while Kled just stands there like
"... huh."
