As someone who fell in love with novels because they whisked her away into adventures she didn't feel important enough for otherwise, hearing you recount your shared story like this tugs on all of her heartstrings

She'll laugh and cry and gasp at all the right moments. From now on, she treats your journal like a sacred thing. After all, it's the most important story in the world

He was already sneaking peeks over your shoulder when he was stuck to you as a not-ghost. Man has 0 concept of privacy

You knew he was looking because he was commenting on your handwriting and gossiping about any tidbits he thought were juicy

Considering how you barely knew him at that point, you didn't write in front of him again for a very, very long time

It actually created a lovely habit - at some point during the day, you'll take half an hour to yourself and journal

It's been months now and you've forgotten why you had the habit in the first place, so when it's raining one evening you just stay in the inn and write next to the fire

The difference in Lucio's approach speaks volumes. He asks what you're doing, and when you tell him, he asks if he can hear some of it

He makes no move to get up from where he's polishing his sword (it got wet)

He listens while you read, interjecting with a comment or two, perfectly content

He's a bit sheepish about what you had to write about him in the beginning, but hearing how much he's changed fills him with healthy pride. Oh, he adores you

Oh mannnnnn Neopets reviews…how do you feel about my fav, Blumaroo?

Blumaroos are very vaguely based off of kangaroos, but they don't share too much in common other than jumping ability and the -roo name. Instead, they have a great abstract design that feels pretty realistic while being a complete fantasy creature, with floppy trunk-like noses and details that they can bounce on.

Visually, the soft pink accents of the nose are complimented by the ears, and this base works as a good neutral to match any color. They have these nice dot eyes and smiles that capture their happy-go-lucky nature, and just have a nice shape to them. I also like them having their own land and distinct personalities; it helps them stick out a lot in my mind.

Customization-wise, the Blumaroo is a mixed bag. On the plus side, their old artwork was dated and needed a refresh (note the almost complete lack of shading). I like the way they're fatter now, the loss of the belly button is an improvement because it felt weird that they had one to begin with, and they come across as a bit happier in the new art.

But on the minus side, the lose of their old pose is a tragedy. Blumaroos bouncing and standing on their tails was one of their most interesting characters, and while it's obviously still a trait of the species, it's a shame that it's no longer shown in their art. This is particularly sad because their adorable heart-shaped feet are also hidden from view, which has the side-effect of no longer carrying the pink through the design as well as it used to.

I get that customization needed to regulate the poses a bit more, but seeing as each item has to be redrawn anyway, would it have been that hard to keep them on their tails? It's not like the Lutari where the pose would've made it difficult to see clothing or something. It's otherwise a fine conversion, but man, it would've been perfect if we got both the new art and old pose together.

Favorite colours:

Plushie: Blumaroos already look pretty huggable, but the plushie form ramps it up to 11. I love the soft blue color with just a few pops of color on the eyes and tail patch—it gives the impression of an old and much-loved plushie. The converted version isn't bad, but it unfortunately can't compete with the unconverted version, which has much bigger, floppier ears, a thicker tail, and a very cute pose.

Tyrannian: Speaking of colours that looked better unconverted, dang, the Tyrannian Blumaroo got it rough. I love the original's brows and horn-ears, with this nice neutral dappled brown serving as the base. The converted version had to change some things obviously, but it also feels like they didn't really try—why doesn't it keep the same expression (unconverted Darigan Blumaroos have different eyes, so it's obviously not a problem to change them)? Why is the brown on the tail so much lighter to the point where it's barely noticeable? Why is the ruff now red instead of the dark brown of the wings? Why are the horns so small, and why is the perspective wrong on them relative to the ears? Bleh. At least the original's still great.

Oil Paint: Thankfully, here's a Blumaroo color that looks great with the customized pose. Such a beautiful color palette, combining little strokes of colors with pretty flower-like blotches interspersed throughout. I love how the colors also flow with the body, like how the torso goes from green to red, or how there's red right around the feet. Lovely all around.

it's pretty slow pacing wise and boring in a beautifully artistic way and deeply sad and alters my brain chemistry every time I read it, but I think its's probs one of those books that can be hard to get into if you don't vibe with the style.

Finally posting my

"100% mortal" Au assorted doodles

The story is basically set in an au where wukong and macaque had mk and live happily on flower fruit mountain.

But one day some demons attack and while wukong and macaque are busy trying to fight them off (i hc that killing kinda gives wukong a PTSD episode of the circlet) one of them snatches mk and books it.

The demon runs in megalopolis where he tries to hide behind a certain noodle shop to try and calm down the little twerp.

Pigsy hearing the commotion comes out and realizes this dude is trying to keep a kid that it VERY CLEARLY NOT HIS so he punches the demon and now has to look after a tiny monkey demon who is super young (like age wise mk is around 5-6)

So pigsy decides to house the kid while he searches for his parents. The kid says he lives on a mountain with his dads. Pigsy then dives back in his old demon community (i HC that pigsy is part demon and he left the community like you leave a bad neighborhood) to see if anyone knows where he can find two young monkey dads.

All his contacts in the city tell him that monkey demons are actually super rare these days because of Erlang Shen burning down one of the biggest hub where they lived. But Pigsy was never a fan of history (that is his boyfriend Tang job) so he keeps searching.

He ends up having to take care of mk for months.

Finally he hears that there is a small settlement of monkeys left near the city where the kid may be from.

He arrives at the town which looks fairly empty up until the temple which is full of monkey statues.

There he finds one young dude who is very clearly a monkey demon but looks like he didn't sleep in a week. He apologize for not greeting him and explains that he lives there with his husband and they take care of the temple of his ancestors.

(yes they took a while to think of that lie)

So pigsy shows him a pic of Mk and asks if he knows the kid and the guy FREAKS OUT. He runs towards the temple where he emerges from with another monkey guy who looks as equally exhausted and they ask to be brought to the kid immediately.

Pigsy brings them back to the shop where mk and his dads have the fluffiest reunion.

And pigsy now has a family of regulars with these 100% mortal demon monkeys!

Now for what our fav mystic monkeys have been doing in those months.

They started to search everywhere in the mountain, but not finding him they started to search everywhere else, to the demons hideout, to the celestial realm asking for help, they even went to a lot of their older enemies and allies to check if he was there. Macaque couldn't find him because in the chaos of megalopolis he couldn't discern where his son was.

And wukong couldn't see him because his staff was near and making it difficult to find mk small signature.

I’m officially celebrating her birthday for the first time and I gave you guys a lil treat as a thank you for supporting me while I have been developing and building her character throughout the years.

🌸She’s my fav oc and I’m certain that she will be for a long time. My main goal while making her at first as an oc, was to give her qualities that are different from mine, for example I’m more of a pacifist but she’s more of a fighter etc. While building her character, I learned from her a different perspective which I needed for some of my issues irl and I loved how strong she is with the rough circumstances she faces.

🌸The flowers I have included in this piece are irises, columbine flowers and Worsleya procera. Also I love spring so spring vibes were SO FUN TO DRAW!!

🌸Now for what I have in plan for the near future, I will try and finish Leo’s birthday present, which is on the 27th of May and it will include two parts. One of them is part of the Flower theme birthdays, which I’m gonna keep doing until I include the all of the main LL cast too. The second part will be about announcing my new series, which Leo’s gonna be the main component. In between I want to draw sketches or not full finished drawings, cause I’m interested in drawing more stuff and it feels healthier on my burnt out issues to let myself go with the flow.

what cologne(s) do you headcanon as daniel wearing (either during his mortal or immortal years)? i often see mention of armand noticing/enjoying the scent of daniel's cologne or aftershave in fics by you and others and i'm always curious to hear what particular fragrances people imagine he might pick out for himself (or what armand might pick out for him)

HELLO ANON i am so sorry it took me forever to get back to you on this one, it's one of my fav topics!!

so i don't see daniel as a hugely picky guy when it comes to scents. he's loyal to a particular deodorant brand because it's easy to get the same thing every time he goes to the store, he puts on aftershave because the girls and guys he's been with have commented on liking the smell. pre-armand i see him picking up stuff at the drug store, some old spice or mitchum or (once, on a whim) some jovan because he was curious what 'sex appeal for men' could smell like.

and then in the chase years he just doesn't care. he's living out of hotels, he smells like the shampoos and stuff provided in the room. he grabs whatever he can identify as deodorant from the drug store, which has led so some mishaps. he's gone around more than once smelling like flowers or baby powder because he accidentally grabbed something for women, but he can't read the labels and frankly he's too stressed to worry about it.

with armand? cologne-wise, he's getting an upgrade. no more drug store stuff, armand would drag him to the counter at a high end department store and get him something from a long established luxury brand. and daniel doesn't mind- it's the 70s, everything is woodsy and musky and it's all the same to him. he likes the experience though, being waited on and getting the nice packaging, and likes only having to use a bit because the scent actually lingers.

but like, deodorant? armand would have that man going without. i think he's a weird little scent freak and being a scentless being himself would be all about natural smells; the warm, human scent daniel gets the night they go out and end up playing basketball with some strangers in the street. a little sweat mixed with his shampoo and the detergent that lingers on his clothes, that's the ideal, fuck adding any extra scent.

and daniel feels weird about that, it's not the norm now, at least not where he's from. but on the other hand it gets armand on him like an animal and if it gets him a taste of the blood- whatever. it's fine, he'll live.

so YEAH tl;dr i don't think he cares too much haha he goes for convenience when its his choice, and when it's not his choice he's not gonna argue much anyways.

TANA fanart thingy

Caught my eyes ever since I saw her, and gotta be my fav from TANA design-wise!!? So out of all characters that have been posted in @tanalogyosc she ended up being the first who I try to draw as a human.

i feel like the roots of her hair should be more yellowish uh

I know I couldve just ask where she'd be from if she's on earth but at the end I just looked for the origins of her name. The name "Yasmin" is Persian (first names doesnt usually matter, at least), her last name is possibly English, but the flower jasmine itself is originated in mostly South Asia?? At first I just made her design based on English people, though, I find that instead of pale-ish western skintone (someone said about Brits barely see any sunshine even on summertime), a rather Asian one fits her most! Her hair was also dark brown in the beginning, till I decided on light blond. Eyes are the last one I colored, and I colored it green almost instantly because I just thought that it fits lol (and theyre the only place I can color as green that's not her clothes/ accessories) the thing on the middle of the flower (pistil?) is also green if that makes any sense.

I'd make a full personality analysis if it werent for the fact that I dont know her very much😔

was thinking about reyson (my beloved) again, and then an epiphany hit me.

alfred & reyson are very similar, character concept wise.

while their personalities are quite different, they are similar in a few things... [spoilers ahead]

homeland's association with 'green' nature. IDK really how to word it, but how firene is full of lush fields and such, and herons resided in serenes forest. both homelands were associated with peace, and would eventually go aflame.

desire to overcome their physical nature. this one was the key thing that made me think about their similarities. reyson's 'issue' comes from his own physicality/biology of being a heron laguz. heron laguz are pretty fragile. reyson simply punching oliver that didn't give serious damage to the latter, resulted in reyson fracturing the bones in his hand. even bad vibes can make him sick... alfred on the other hand is held back by his illness that he's had ever since he was a child. both characters wish to overcome this, and both have a similar 'ideal' they desire to achieve...muscles. alfred is allllll about muscles and training. most of his supports are about this fact. reyson is a bit more lowkey about it, but it's clear he thinks of tibarn as his ideal. "I wanted so much to be like Tibarn. Big body, strong wings…" (from feh, but i know the 'big body strong wings' is a thing from the actual duology somewhere, i just can't remember where). reyson even tries eating like tibarn, which almost gets him killed. both reyson & alfred cannot achieve their desired state because of their 'physical nature', but they do try.

related to the last point kinda, but both are noted to act atypical of their expected decorum (side note i really like the word decorum idk why). reyson is noted to not act typical of herons. wanting revenge & violence at first at those who burned his home down, acting more aggressive. it makes sense when you consider who he lived with after the serenes massacre... it's also noted how rafiel acts like what's expected of herons, which is contrasted by how reyson acts...well not. for alfred, he is described as 'a barbarian in prince's clothing' by céline. his diamant c support also had diamant doing prince™ things, and alfred's all like "what's your fav muscle 😁."

their designs are also very (very) pretty & on the more feminine side, but their ideals lay more 'typically masculine'. reyson has an androgynous appearance, while alfred has flower motifs + frills and such. these contrasts with reyson's more 'fiery' & 'aggressive' personality, and alfred's thing with muscles (both things are typically associated with masculinity.)

and uhhh yeah. mini analysis over! i've always loved reyson, and alfred just got better the more i got to know him. like i said, they do differ in personality in a lot of ways, but it's cool how two characters with similar setups can be so distinctive.

Oooooh! They more or less wear customized ARC armor, but Apex keeps misplacing his kama and Codex just doesn’t like wearing it cause it gets them stuck in the vents sometimes!

And ship-wise, it’s actually Lex/Cantina in a mutually Ace relationship. Codex is also Ace and Aro, Apex is always with Rush and they both tend to crush on Ponds and Windu, Hex is always with Prost and Hetic (in How to Care for Your Corries specifically they are working on adding Kix and Jesse), and for some reason I just really like Flex/Fives/Echo 😂😂😂

As for body mods I’ll have to double check my spread sheet at a later date to be sure but:

Codex: none visible, they have a belly button (where one would be anyway cause clones=no umbilical cord is my fav headcanon) ring that doubles as a tracker and they’re trying to convince Hex to let them get a neural implant. But that’s all~

Apex: has prosthetic forearms similar to Anakin’s but both arms, a prosthetic foot, and a prosthetic hip. He doesn’t like piercings but he did let Hex tag him with one (nsfw) for tracking purposes.

Hex: fully prosthetic arm. He’s also got some (nsfw) piercings. His tracker is also a belly button ring.

Flex: surprisingly intact. They have several piercing holes down the shell of their ears (both) but they lose the jewelry very often. Their nipples are also pierced but they rarely use the jewelry.

Lex: the only one with in tattoos. A flower representing Cantina on their foot, a large back piece (haven’t decided of what yet but it’s for their batch), a vulpex named Foxy on the outside of their ankle, and the Commander Fox Prayer in Mando’a on their forearm. I think I gave them a prosthetic too??

4. Say you’re recommending the show right now, how would you pitch it?

IWTV has quickly risen up to Utena levels for me where I'm so in love with it that I can't properly explain WHY it means to much to me and why I like it so much in like a proper way I'd just have to be like: listen. Trust me. Maybe show a clip....the one they used on Norton (dabble in fucker) was actually a really good example of like great Louis scene but also removed enough from any sort of spoiler context

It has not! Somewhere between my rewatches episode 6 has become my firm fav episode, I think before then it was the first ep.

In terms of fics Prey Drive and Wolfkiller might be my favs right now kinda in terms of wow I really did that? I pulled that off? I was so scared especially for Wolfkiller that it would turn out bad but they didn't!

Pretty quite, but is able to hold a convo and will talk to you if you talk to him

REASONS TO LOVE SHINTARO AS A CHARACTER:

first of all; hes a gamer boy depicted as he really is and not what he thinks he is: a fucking loser who fails at every social situation and also stinks

aside from the jokes, i think he has two main songs in the whole series: toumei answer and lost time memory. im just gonna share lyrics from each song that makes me go INSANE thinking about him:

"The alarm that starts ringing/Says to my lonely self: you're a coldhearted fool" <- his guilt here is delicious to me like he blames himself for her death and yes he did act shitty and he abandoned her but he didnt do it out of malice he did it bc he didnt know how to approach her but he thinks he killed her and its also killing him OUGH

"The color of your hair/The shape of your smile/Someone might have already forgotten it" <- and then HES the one who forgets everything about ayano bc of the trauma like here he laments that her absence that has already changed his entire world might be this insignificant to someone else AND YET AND YET HIS MIND LOCKS HER OUT ITS JUST. OUGH

i get it hes not a very likable person and he does act shitty and bratty and the anime really doesnt give him the floor to change BUT!!! give him a chance and he WILL become ur poor little meow meow. guaranteed.

he's just a stupid guy and the thing abt shintaro is that he will ALWAYS do what's right. he has a very strong sense of justice and he's very clear on his principles. and he will always speak up for others and stand up for what he thinks is right. and this like... a HILARIOUS virtue for a character who is ALSO so awkward, difficult to approach, bratty and self centered. like that's so funny.he is such a special little guy and HE IS AWESOME

he's so cringe fail and an asshole but he's also the hero and deserves praise for it. like cry about it. he is a good guy but he's also the worst. but also he's the best. hope that helps
