Okay I’m going to bed but I just wanted to say how amazing I find it that Watcher’s two biggest shows - Puppet History and Ghost Files - are natural evolutions of shows that Buzzfeed tried to stifle, dilute and, in Ruining History’s case, outright cancelled. (That shit is on Buzzfeed Multiplayer. I know they didn’t give it a chance)

This is total conjecture but I bet a lot of Watcher’s money from fans comes from Professor plushies and Ghost Files t-shirts (I myself have three!). And they’re both these wild, crazy, creative beasts that are just so much fun to watch. I had no idea where Puppet History was going this season and I’d have it no other way.

It’s probably really parasocial of me to say but I’m so proud of those Ghoul Boys.

Everything Announced At Xbox&Bethesda Developer_Direct Event

Today Microsoft held its Developer Direct presentation, focusing 5 games coming to Xbox, PC, and Game Pass this year. We also got a fresh look at some anticipated titles, as well as a neat little rhythmic surprise from the developers of The Evil Within, Tangoworks Games.

MINECRAFT LEGENDS

First announced last year, a spin-off of the ultra-popular sandbox survival game, Minecraft Legends is, perhaps unexpectedly, a multiplayer action-strategy game. The title will have both a narrative co-op mode, as well as a PvP mode with procedurally generated environments, which is much of what we saw today.

FORZA MOTORSPORT

Turn 10 showcased some wildly pretty footage of the upcoming Forza Motorsport, which is expected to arrive this year. This presentation focused on the finer details of Motorsport’s visual flair, including highly detailed dirt, damage, and “battle scars” that’ll build up on your digital cars, as well as extra detail added to the game’s dynamic time of day and trackside vegetation.

Developers of The Evil Within and Tokyo Ghostwire just shadow dropped a new game, Hi-Fi Rush. This game was today’s biggest surprise, putting players in the role of an aspiring rock star with a rhythmic robot arm who kicks butt on the beat with a flying V guitar, it was released after the show ended and it is of course available via Game Pass.

Arkane, the studio that brought us Dishonored, Prey 2017, and Deathloop is currently working on Redfall, an open-world, sandbox FPS with four-player co-op. With some friends, you’ll wield appropriately gothic firearms to take down oodles of blood-sucking vampires.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Necrom

ESO continues on with a new expansion: Necrom. Expect a brand new class, the Arcanist, and some terrestrial and extraplanar adventures as there’s a new peninsula to explore in the mushroom kingdom of Morrowind. You’ll also get to go for a jog in Apocrypha, one of the Elder Scrolls’ lovely hellish realms. Coming on June 5 and June 20 for PC and consoles, respectively.

Naughty Dog co-president says the studio is "moving on" from Uncharted

Speaking with Buzzfeed, studio co-president Neil Druckmann said the team is "moving on" from it.

"Uncharted was insanely successful," said Druckmann. "Uncharted 4 was one of our best-selling games, and we're able to put our final brushstroke on that story and say that we're done. We're moving on."

Does this mean the studio is finished with the series for good, or just Nathan Drake's story? Only Naughty Dog knows for sure.

But, that's not to say another Uncharted couldn't come from a different Sony studio. In April 2021 it was rumored that Days Gone developer Sony Bend was at one time working on an unannounced title in the franchise.

The report stated Sony assigned a group from the studio to develop the new Uncharted game under Naughty Dog’s supervision. A second team from Sony Bend was also partnered up with Naughty Dog to work on a multiplayer game.

Mobile games firm Metacore has acquired Supercell's Everdale title.

The Finnish studio ended development for the multiplayer mobile title in October 2022.

With the acquisition, Supercell has given its ownership of Everdale and all of the game's assets to Metacore.

It’s a fun game to play with friends and can be both a barrel of laughs or completely horrifying. Each character has a unique skill set, and killers even have special abilities based on their franchise. You can even play as Michael Myers or Pyramid Head. Steve and Nancy from Stranger Things are there, even the Demogorgon. What’s great about this game is that you can choose many characters from iconic horror movies. To escape, you have to fix the generators scattered across the map before the killer can get to you. You are placed on a map with one killer and three other teammates. It is another co-op game where you have to survive until the end. If you’ve ever wanted to experience being both the Final Girl and Jason Vorhees, Dead by Daylight is your game. It is one of the most fun multiplayer online games that you don’t want to miss. You also have to sidestep a couple of obstacles on the ground that will attract the monsters. The objective is to find items to help you escape or distract the monster long enough for you to do so. Lost in the middle of the woods, you must find your way out and around the horrifying monsters lurking in the dark It is a co-op game where you end up in a car accident underneath a bridge and somehow live. In this terrifying horror title, silence is literally the name of the game. With a simple yet unique concept, this is an interesting game that you (probably) won’t regret playing. Ironically, this game does a good job of increasing your fears and anxieties. While it isn’t horror per se, you are kept on the edge of your seat the whole time, wondering how this game will end. You have to answer truthfully each time because the game can tell if you’re lying. According to the game, it is meant to understand the root of the things you’re afraid of. All you need to do is answer a multiple-choice question about your fears and anxieties. The Watson-Scott Test Photo from SteamĮver wish Buzzfeed quizzes were just a tad existential, horrifying, and/or sentient? Then maybe you should check out the Watson-Scott Test. The art style gives off an old, creepy Lovecraftian horror vibe. The game does a good job of giving you an immersive experience with the sound effects and voice acting.
