Ignorance is Bliss

The housewardens of Night Raven College come to a crippling realization about the truth of their world. They all handle it in different ways.

Riddle, who knows he's in a game, that everyone here is fake. What did he learn all these rules for? What was the point of his suffering? He's just a character to be watched by others for amusement's sake. Was the Queen of Hearts a mere character too? Did any of this have meaning? But then he sees you. You're real, and he's enraptured. What are the rules of your world, the real world where life isn't some story to be played? Though Riddle can't help but envy you, he really does wish to get to know you better.

Leona is hit by the revelation after his overblot. Everything he's gone through was all a part of some game. Just a way to keep players entertained. You're real. You'll never have to deal with the crippling realization that everything you say's a part of some script, that whole life's a game you'll never be able to leave. More than anything, Leona hates the fact that he knows your kindness towards him is all fake, but he still can't help but be captivated.

Azul is envious, just like Leona. He's gone through all of this just for entertainment? His overblot, his family, his world- none of it was real? And you're there, watching his suffering like it's some game for you to play, because that's really all it is. A game. He's a character in a game. But, seeing how real you are, even if your words are conveyed through the black sprite of a self-insert protagonist, how genuine your kindness is - it draws him in. He's meant to be a cold, rational individual, but perhaps he can be a bit softer with you. You won't mock him. You won't leave. And besides, if this really is some odd game, can't Azul get more of your gems with gap Moe?

Kalim is rather accepting of his circumstances. Sure, he's heartbroken to see the truth - that his whole life's a part of some gacha game meant to make some massive corporation called Disney more money, but can he really do anything about it? Besides, Kalim has always been someone who believes in making the best of the terrible hand he's been dealt. He's stayed kind in the face on constant poisoning attempts, and he's kept his heart in a world where there was no one he could trust. And in his attempts to make the best of his situation, he can't help but get closer to you. After all, you're a real person, and you don't gain anything from turning on him. You appreciate his kindness, and even if there's a fourth-wall separating the two of you, Kalim's grateful.

Vil is shaken by the revelation. This is all a game? You're just here to be entertained? But in spite of how worldview-shattering the realization that he's just a game character meant to Garner profit is, he can't help but he oddly comforted. Nothing's wrong with him. Neige 's performance was supposed to be worse than his, and the ordeal at VDC was just as unfair as he thought. Though Vil isn't exactly fine and dandy, he's not quite broken either. And, in the actual fanbase of this game he's in, people like him better than Neige? And you're one of those people? If it turns out you write fanfic or draw fanart of him, he'll be very appreciative.

Idia's shocked. His brother's death, his overblot, all the overblots, they were setups for him to be a character in some non-otome gacha game? It's weird. Idia's all too used to not being in control of his life, though. He just tries to cope in any way he can. He's definitely going to try and learn about his fandom, what type of ships and fanfic and fanart and the like are made about him. He's one of the most likely to try and ask you about the fandom. If you make fancontent for him, he's going to be especially interested. Be warned, though, he will nitpick your characterization of him so hard. At least your stats are better now, I guess?

Malleus is already an isolated individual, and now you're telling him what little connection to others he has is fake? In all honesty, he's definitely the most attached to you out of all the dorm heads. You're the only real friend he'll ever be able to have. The only real friend any of them will ever be able to have. He does find comfort in his massive fanbase, though. You're telling him all these people care for him, and because of the difference in the way time passes in game vs in reality, they won't die in a matter of what feels like seconds for him? As shaken as he is by everything, it really is a comfort.

Can I just rant about an Otome game I recently rediscovered.

If any of you know Prince of Tennis, this is a Prince of Tennis otome game for the DS called: Prince of Tennis Motto Gakuensai no Oujisama

You have a potential of 37. YES 37 guys to date, all characters from Prince of Tennis.

It's a very simple game, but whoever the writers were, they knew what we ladies wanted lol.

Spoilers about the game and gameplay below the cut

First off, you can choose which school you go to. Prince of Tennis is kind of like Haikyuu, but with tennis. So if you're interested in a certain character, you would have to choose to go to their school.

Second, the story is totally something a fan author would write lol. It's totally a Y/N moment. You're part of the school festival committee and you're helping the tennis team build and manage their booth for the school festival. The story only spans I think, 2 weeks in game and if you really speed run it, in real time it would take around 30 minutes to an hour to finish one guy.

The way to romance a guy is pretty simple, and also very slice of life type. There's no complicated backstory, since you're just an average high school girl. Basically you just try to keep talking to the guy you're interested in and you get to know each other in the span of those 2 weeks. Sounds boring right?

But the dialogue in some of the routes is extremely fluffy.

Example: There's at least ONE scene where the guy worries about you.

One of them is when it's a particularly hot day during the school festival and you pass out. Cue the guy panicking and taking you to the infirmary, worried sick.

One of the other scenes involved the guy getting into a fist fight with another student and your character sort of tries to stop them and gets in between but instead you get hit (yes, really) So your guy is obviously panicking and angry. (The dialogue for the guy went something a bit like "...I can't believe you got in between us and got hit! I don't know what I would do if you--" and then he cuts off there cause guy hasn't confessed to you yet)

AND THEN there's another one where you go into the storage room with the guy and you're trying to find something in one of the boxes, but the box is too high and it ends up almost falling on you but you somehow evade it, except that you now have a sprained ankle. And then, of course, the guy is again extremely worried.

I'm not even kidding about how angsty/fluffy some of these scenes are. Like, I'm rambling! and remember there are 37 DIFFERENT GUYS WITH DIFFERENT SCENARIOS! (Actually I could probably get some writing ideas off of these lollll)

I am SO glad I found this game again (Playing it on a DS Emulator and I patched the game so that it was translated to English)

Hear ye! I've come with updates for Keyframes! This time, I'm shooting over some previews for our CGs!

Currently, we have one artist who's breaking sweat getting these done for our players so be sure to thank @tsyshen for her efforts!

The rest of the CGs are a work in progress, but we can give you a bit of a hint as to what you can expect in the extended demo with them!

All these papers strewn about must mean you're studying. And jeez-- that monstrous burger sure looks intimidating. But it looks like you're hanging out with a large group of people in these events!

And believe it or not, the rest of the previews I've got to show you are from the same event-- the BBQ party you've played through in the Otome Jam Demo!

We've talked about this a little bit beforehand, but some of the CGs in the extended demo and the game moving forward can change depending on the choices you've made!

Regardless of these changes- there's quite the celebratory mood in each shot, don't you think?

If you haven't heard already, the plan for the CGs in our VN stray a little from convention. In that, not all of them are going to be specially romantic or dramatic, or these full on screen images. Rather some of them are just photos reminiscent of something that you would even find in your own photo gallery.

I can't wait for everyone to see the full photos as well as the subtle changes amongst some of them! I hope it feels as authentic as taking silly pictures with your friends and may everyone make happy memories with our cast!

A lot of people tend to agree that Mephisto keeps around Amaimon specifically because it pertains to whatever plans he has meticulously crafted. But I think it's worth emphasizing that they do play games together, as demonstrated by small omakes.

And I'm by no means implying that they are buddy, buddy with each other, canon has supported that much, but I do think Mephisto keeps him around at least partially because he's so goddamn lonely.

I truly think Shiro was probably one of the only true friends Mephisto's ever had, at least in the past few decades, which makes me wonder just exactly what his social life looks like to begin with.

Mephisto's a huge attention whore, as demonstrated by his eagerness to be on TV around the time when civilization was beginning to become aware of the existence of demons, so, to a certain extent, he definitely craves social validation.

I can't imagine him being much of a fan of cocktail parties, just because I feel like he'd find himself "above" that sort of thing, in the sense that I feel like he'd find them to be a stupid and superficial human ritual, (mind you he thinks humans are cute, most definitely in a condescending "why do you even care about that sort of thing" way but maybe also as genuine admiration on his part, because he can't have that for himself) but he might indulge them every once in awhile as a means of fulfilling personal social quotas (and social networking as a means of maintaining his status as a socialite) because who else is there to intellectually stimulate him (as if priveleged, psuedo-intellectuals could ever do that pffftt, not like he has much of a choice though.)

He definitely engages people in a superficial way as a means of getting some, and in a way, it works for him, simply because I don't believe Mephisto has it in him to be vulnerable with anybody like that.

This sort of behavior may also give reason to why he's always observing others and their interactions, perhaps as a means of living through others, because he doesn't allow himself to do the same. This could also serve as an explanation for his degenerate ways, because you can't be out here binge playing otome games without some social ineptitude on your part (I'm mostly joking but it's far too fitting tbh.)

So, who else is there to keep him company, except for his little brother, who he can't even really share much of an intellectual connection with because... I mean, it's Amaimon? Amaimon definitely does not care to discuss the endless possibilities of the universe, but he will most definitely indulge Mephisto's litte video games, so long as it doesn't require much effort on his part.

this one is less of a lyrical association and more of a feeling. something about the chords and melody line make me think of the sorcerer. especially the minor harmony in the chorus, and over all the post production of the vocals as well. the reverb has got to be either long hall or church, the way it rings in your ears unlike studio does. yes i'm insane

there is something so carnally nb!solomon about the lyrics of this song, which is why i quoted so many of them. to me, nb!solomon is terrified he has made a wrong decision in following you to the past. it terrifies him that he so quickly chose to break time just for you, no matter the consequences. no matter if he loses his immortality, becomes stuck, passes on. he has lived so many lives and yet the only one that matters anymore is the one he wants with you. goodness me solomon.

An alternate first meeting between our Yue and Macaque is him using his future hearing, hears about how Heaven is planing to send a bride for Wukong from LOES, goes there to see what's going on and just falls in love with her. Oh, and meeting RinRin and Shanzha.

Maybe when the clan tried the tactic of drugging Yue, she just willing goes along with it as a plan from her aunts and uncle to get out of the lands safely with Macaque tagging along in the shadows as back up.

Edit: this was a quick rant with a brief explanation. It's not meant to go into depth on any subject matter and has a hostile tone throughout, including the notes. I ignore men and politics in real life, I have no desire to learn about them or explain anything beyond the post's scope. This is drawn from when I had a passing interest in learning about the diseased male thoughts. I've clarified and expanded the original post.

Barbatos does have the admirable Sigma traits, but he is just as hopelessly in love with the player character and panders just as much as the other males in the game which is only one of many ways that negates a self-respecting Sigma 😂

I honestly hate that words like Simp made it into Obey Me. In a sexual context it has been appropriated from incels and MGTOW language. It's 'reclaimed', redefined and is used unironically again everywhere, but it is still completely sexist bullshit. Women can't even get basic respect and sympathy from a man without this type of men degrading, jeering at and insulting both.

It's a term heavily used in this fandom so I can't really fault the writers. They use catchy slang to stay hip and contemporary, especially with Levi and his jargon. It's in awful taste to use a misogynistic term FROM a character who is identifiable as an incel, towards a character meant to represent anyone, in a game and genre specifically intended for women.

I doubt that anyone who uses the term on themself cares about the implications or origin of trendy labels. The term Simp, used in a sexual context such as this, is from the Manosphere (Far Right, Masculinist, Anti-Feminist, Anti-Woman and LGBT-phobic "Movement".) It is an acronym that means "Simpletons into Mediocre P*ssy". For Levi to call himself a Simp is to specifically refer to MC mediocre pvssy. These are characters meant to represent idealized fantasy men and yet the writers decided to invite concepts from men who violently oppose, objectify and hate Women and LGBT?

While it's believable that Levi could operate out of this belief system, they shouldn't have actually done it. 🙁 OM runs absolutely counter to Masculinism, the character are PROUD "SIMPS" that aggressively pursue, "paypig"/throw money, gifts, fawn over, pander to and compete against one another in hopes of getting attention from someone who can be interpreted as a woman. The characters are "pathetically" obsessed with gaining favor, monopoly over and a romantic and/or sexual relationship with the player. It is ANATHEMA TO THE MASCULINIST CONCEPT. Masculinism is, in other words, male supremacism and a call to arms for "oppressed men" to reject progress towards equality, retake full patriarchal control and force everyone else to submit to their ideology and social order and accept the "inherent worthlessness" of equality, the female sex, non-whiteness, LGBT, Liberal/Left and those that disagree with them.

OM promotes a progressive and LGBT friendly stance while remaining solidly as the otome genre's woman oriented escapism + power fantasy, romance game. That isn't to say OM players/Otome/Joseimuke players aren't also literally Simps who paypig for mediocre prick, but this game is supposed to be about "good men" and romantic fulfillment.

RRRRRRRRRR I ALSO LOVE THINKING OF VOICE ACTORS SM (I played Ikemen vampire and fell in love with Kenjiro Tsuda so fucking badly every time I hear him in any anime I become FERAL), and I had some hcs about VAs and ML/Eldarya in my notes so I'm sharing my thoughts with you...

I honestly didn't think of a japanese dub since we're talking about an european game, so it'd be a little weird for me to think about the VAs in japanese. But here goes my hc:

AARON: Darren Korb

I had to add somewhere my lovely Zagreus (Hades game). I absolutely am in love with his voice and I actually think that the monotony and deep pitch of voice would fit Aaron perfectly. It brings youth when you hear it, but what can we say… Aaron died when he was young so his voice is naturally as such.

BELIATH: Liam O’brien.

Since I’ve seen the whole campaign of DND from Critical Role (yep, Vox Machina mentioned here) I always admired Liam's voice a lot. There was something about it that had me barking deep inside. I am a person who feels attracted to voices, and his voice made me feel something. After rewatching Vox Machina I could say that I believe Beliath’s voice would be pretty much like Vax’ildan. It is deep and sexy, a little raspy and dbghjsjkghsdjkagnjdfsbgaj<3

RAPHAEL: Griffin Puatu

I deeply hope that I am not mistaken and this is the current voice actor for Sunday (HSR), but his voice brings me so much peace that I couldn’t help but assign it to Raphael. It is simply so calm, low and soft, it’s relaxing and comforting.

VLADIMIR: Paul Amos.

I know Jacob Frye’s character isn’t much like Vladimir, but it was hard for me to think of any other character that had a slight ‘british’ accent, but this is it. I believe Vlad’s voice wouldn’t sound as energetic and it would be more monotonous, but I can’t think of anyone else.

ETHAN: Reuben Langdon.

Devil may cry has deeply affected my daily life. I see Ethan’s voice similar to Dante’s (DMC4 btw, in DMC5 he sounds more mature and I know Ethan has a young tone yet). He quite sounds like a teen, and has a tone to mock people that is capable of pissing off anyone he wants.

IVAN: Johnny Yong Bosch.

Just talked about Dante and now talking about Nero. When I played dmc5 there was something about Nero that reminded me of Ivan, so obviously I need to think of Ivan’s voice as Nero’s. I believe he would have voice cracks whenever he gets alarmed or raises his voice a little, but he normally has a teen, youthful tone.

NEIL: Graham McTavish

My mind goes blank when it comes to this man, and it was a hard decision but the only one I see is Graham McTavish, Dracula’s voice in Castlevania (the animated series). He has a deep voice, shows authority and it’s pretty elegant. It made me shiver when I heard his voice, yet it’s grrr. I don’t know if it will fit Neil that much but it is my hc… he’s an old vampire just as Dracula might be :^

Spoiler warnings for the Shout Your Heart Out Devilgram but...

for those of you who expected a good romantic romp with Diavolo after being given literally crumbs these last two seasons...

The entire Devilgram is nothing but you third wheeling as Diavolo reads from an entire scroll, in front of an entire audience, how amazing Lucifer is. That's it. That's the story. Dude is literally just listing off every quality Lucifer has and at the very end, all MC is treated with is what essentially feels like to me, a pity kiss.

And considering that NB has significantly decreased in its romance, I couldn't help but feel cheated. Like, who is this for? Clearly, the DiaLuci shippers, but Lucifer behaves so indifferently to Diavolo, that it even drops the ball on that. It especially fucks up the DiaMC moment by having our entire existence in that story serve as a fucking wingman for another character.

I already ranted about this with a few others on Reddit, but the entire Devilgram just left a sour taste in my mouth, and it's gotten to the point where sometimes I can't tell whether Diavolo's obsession with Lucifer is written for laughs or purely romantic, but I'm tired, y'all. I don't even know if it's right to call it queerbaiting or not, but Diavolo says so many off the wall things about Lucifer that it's hard to interpret his feelings as anything less than friendship. Either say the quiet part out loud or stop waisting my emotions in believing these characters actually care about romancing me, seeing as you've been lacking in that aspect for MONTHS.

And I know this sounds so fickle, but as a yumejoshi we rarely get games like this where an MC is non-descriptive with the ability to self insert as we please. Despite what you assume, otome players don't tend to self ship. Most enjoy reading the story seperate from the MC and that's a pretty large sum of people in that fandom. This story is literally a slap in the face to that.

Lilke, tell me the truth, y'all. Am I overreacting? Is it crazy to assume that an otome game, or what advertises itself as an otome game, should focus on the MC and their relationship with the LIs? And if you weren't going to make Diavolo a serious romantic option, then why make him an LI to begin with? Frankly, he was better off as a nondatable because it doesn't even feel like he gives a shit about the MC. At least in the OG game, there was a balance. Now we don't even have that.

Like, fine. Give the people their fanservice, but it just feels shitty that in a game where the point is to romance characters and have them love you, you're treated as an afterthought by the characters you're suppose to be dating.

I finally did it; I stuck with one single otome game, and finished it up!

Although CxM is my first blog post, I am not new to otome. I like to think I have a fair bit of experience to chalk up a decent review about these games, so this is my go at it!

SYNOPSIS: Collar x Malice takes place in a quarantined Shinjuku, Japan, where citizens live in fear of Adonis, a criminal organization that believes it will revitalize Japan with its own warped sense of justice and judgement. The story begins when Ichika Hoshino, a rookie cop, is attacked and has a poisonous collar placed around her neck by Adonis, who declare they are testing her as they believe she has potential to be one of their sympathizers. Ichika must now work with a group of ex-cops to discover the truth behind the Adonis crimes and to remove her collar.

TIME TO BEGIN THE REVIEW!

I was absolutely blown away by Collar x Malice. Don't get me wrong, I love all the otome games I play, but this one topped the charts for me. I am very, very particular when it comes to what I like and dislike about otome. I absolutely can't stand when the story is boring, but also don't like when the plot takes away from the romances with the love interests. I think CxM has perfected the balance of story-to-romance. I found myself both wanting to solve the mystery of the game while also loving the time I got to spend with each of the LIs. Of course, some routes I found better than others, but that's to be expected! I genuinely enjoyed each of the LIs and what they had to offer. Usually, there will be a LI or two I'm not too fond of, but let me say, all these boys have replay-ability. I will be revisiting this game again.

My first impressions were so-so; they are almost always completely based off of the LIs' designs (lol, a little bit shallow but what can you do). I definitely had preferences towards Yanagi and Okazaki initially. I was indifferent to Sasazuka, and did not feel like I would enjoy Enomoto and Shiraishi all that much. But let me tell you this.

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER. PLS.

Mineo Enomoto

Honestly, I played this man first to get him over with. LOL. I hate to say it now. Enomoto gave off middle school vibes, and it wasn't for me in the beginning. BUT. He really grew on me! Honestly, for being THAT character, you know, the one with no experience with girls, it ended up being super cute. Once you got past the eyepatch thing, he was truly a really good guy and it was adorable to see his relationship develop with Ichika. Definitely not a story heavy chapter, and was a great light introduction to the game, especially with how the game gets darker later on. Enomoto wasn't my favourite, but I still am excited to play his after-story in CxM unlimited.

Takeru Sasazuka

Oh, Sasazuka. Your route was great.

This man was a tsundere if I've ever seen one. He was curt, he was rude, but he was such a good LI. I actually found Sasazuka's backstory to be really good, especially the role it plays in the plot. He had MEGA character development from the beginning of the route to finish. It was lovely to see him fall so hard for Ichika, who he had been calling stupid cat for half the game. Not to mention, Sasazuka's CGs are FINEEEE. I hit that Switch screenshot button a few times. Funny enough, when I went to go play Yanagi's route it didn't register my completion of Sasazuka's, so I actually had to play his route twice. Of course, I sped through most of the dialogue, but I did find myself stopping to replay and read the cute moments between him and Ichika. I enjoyed them as much as I did the first time. I really enjoyed both LI and plot in this route.

Kageyuki Shiraishi

I played Shiraishi's route fourth. At this point, I had a good gist of how the story was flowing, but I did NOT expect the plot twist of Shiraishi's route! I was hesistant to even play Shiraishi at all, because long-haired men (not to mention the cat aesthetic he has going on) aren't usually my thing. Personally, I loved the route's plot more than I did the romance with Shiraishi. This isn't me saying he was bad, but his story was so well done, it's hard to not like it more. I found with Shiraishi, he was slightly overhyped in online reviews. A lot of people say Shiraishi is their favourite from the game, but he wasn't mine. I think I went in with my expectations a bit too high, especially after how much I loved Okazaki's route. At the climax of his route, I felt things were a bit rushed because I was confused as to what was going on, but it was such a minor confusion that I figured things out pretty quickly. Again, I'm really looking forward to playing his after-story!

Aigi Yanagi

It took forever to finally get to Yanagi's route. Honestly at the point I finally got to play his route, he has been a side character for so long that it was hard not to see him that way (LOL, sorry Yanagi!). One thing I was surprised about was that Yanagi's route really put romance on the back-burner and put the story in the front. I get it, since Yanagi's route was the big reveal and finale, and honestly it really worked for the overall story. It's not like Yanagi's route wasn't romantic, but it was a little hard to focus on him when you could feel the Adonis leader's identity reveal just around the corner. Yanagi also had the longest route, with seven chapters instead of six. I would say he got some of the best CGs of the game, probably since he is the poster child of CxM. The whole Yanagi backstory is absolutely fantastic as well, and they did a really good job diving deep into his character.

Kei Okazaki

Of course, I had to leave Okazaki for last. Okazaki is by far my favourite Collar x Malice LI and may quite literally be overtaking Toma (Amnesia) for the top spot of them all. I knew I would love Okazaki from the start and I was right. I love his character design, the voice acting, aloof personality, route story, EVERYTHING. While I would not classify Okazaki as any sort of yandere (my favourite trope), he checked all the boxes I usually look for in my LIs (self-sacrificing, obsessive, etc). His entire life outlook changed after getting close with Ichika, and was it ever emotional seeing him go though all that inner turmoil. Let me tell you, this man had me RUNNING to Collar x Malice Unlimited for more. The amount of times he popped up in Yanagi's route made me want to just go replay his route again. Not to mention, his tragic love ending has to be the best in the game. I accidently got it by misclicking, but holy crap?? The CG was crazy! And once you get the tragic love end, you get the bonus CG, which also happens to be my favourite from the game. Anyway, this game has left me an Okazaki fan through-and-through, as well as clogged up my Switch library with screenshots of his face. I could say A LOT more, but trying to leave this spoiler-free for friends who potentially want to play.

Do I recommend Collar x Malice? Of course!

The game really hits both the story component and romance component, and I definitely got my money's worth with over 60 hours of gameplay. Of course, there are some minor bugs (looking at you, Sasasuka route) where dialogue seems to be misplaced or the self-inserted name still comes up as Ichika, but believe me, this was so minor and infrequent that I don't think it affected the overall quality of the game.

I am actually sad that the game is over! I'm scared to finish Unlimited too, because what will I do then?!

Overall, Collar x Malice definitely left a lasting impression on me and has become one of my favourite otome. I had a blast playing it and will definitely be back to do it all again. I hope I can break free of my habit of comparing every LI to my favourite, because Okazaki will be hard as hell to beat.

Chapter 2. No Way Out

It's been a few months since the main storyline has started and I have been watching the female Hunter or main character of this world. It had already been a few centuries since I woke up from these memories that everything in the world was of an Otome Game I had played in the far past or future, I can't really tell.

All I know is that I had been by Sylus' side for as long as I can remember. When I had regained these memories was shortly after I had lost part of my arm and mechanical parts filled the gaps. When I shifted into a crow and I appeared as a "Mechanical Crow" it all came back like a tidal wave. I didn't think any of this was possible and I had long since forgotten that all of this was from a game which at the time only had 8 or 10 chapters out.

There could have been more but it's not like I could really remember. All I know is that the "Main Heroine" or "Main Character" was constantly reincarnating, falling in love with the same six men over and over again in different timelines. I don't remember who was her first love, but I was pretty sure it was Astra as he ended up cursing her and everyone she fell in love with.

I don't entirely remember my past life where I had played the Otome Game or what my life was like, I even thought that was some crazy dream. I just remember that everything that is unfolding now is how that game I had played is. I've watched her for a few months already seeing her meet Xavier first, then Rafayel, she seemed to already have been in contact with Zayne and Caleb already as well. Sylus and the other person haven't shown themselves in front of her yet.

Now here I was having to babysit while she tries to choose between one of the male leads. I just know she won't choose Sylus in this timeline since she just chose him less than a century ago. Although, time is warped in this world thanks to the Deepspace Tunnel.

I had told Sylus of all of this a few centuries ago but he didn't believe me. He still fell in love with her every time and was burned in the end. The last time being the worst to the point he nearly died, though I'm sure he blames the aether core for that. I don't blame him. I had loved her too, she was my closest friend at one point but she's doomed to commit the same crimes and mistakes over and over again.

If we are now matching the timeline of what was in the game, does this mean the cycle could finally break? Or will we end up repeating this again? What was the point of my memories coming back centuries ago just to remain stuck like this?

Of course there were always more questions than there were answers.

I sat perched on a branch just outside the young female Hunter's apartment yet again. I've been watching her every so often but Sylus hasn't told me to do anything yet. The rain was pouring down heavily and it was pitch black out as the red mechanical eye peered into her window.

The rain soaked me as I leaned against the tree in my human form. Some of my long hair strands sticking to my face. I could hear faint rustling in the bushes below. I dropped to the ground with a small splash and noticed the mechanical eye flee. It didn't matter, it was going to be gone in a moment anyway as one of the male leads was going to show up soon anyway.

I bent down and moved some of the leaves staring at two yellow eyes of an all black cat shivering. It hissed at me swatting at my hand reaching out.

"Are you alright Miss?" A voice says behind me and I look up slowly, my facial expression unchanging. It takes me a moment before I recognize that it's Xavier, the Ex-Prince, in front of me holding a blue umbrella over me allowing him to get wet in the process. I look back at the cat and bring my hand closer and it scratches me, drawing blood. That doesn't stop me from placing my fingers under its chin and it submitting to me and rubbing its head against me sensing I meant no harm.

It purrs and comes out into the dry spot of the umbrella and I gently scoop the cat up, cradling it in my arms. Xavier watches me silently still holding the umbrella. He stares at the cat in my arms but I can see his eyes searching my face trying to recognize me from somewhere.

"You're hurt," He states, bringing his hand close to mine and I swat it away. The cat in my arm hissing at him as well. Not saying anything I take the umbrella from his hand and he lets it go. I begin to walk away from him, not uttering a word and I can feel him watching me as I do.

"Wait, have we met before?" He asks and I turn around realizing he is a lot closer than I had imagined, not quite under the umbrella but close enough to see his sky blue eyes.

"Have we? That's quite a terrible pick-up line, I suggest you don't use it again." I say tilting my head and he scowls a little. A small smirk crawls on my lips. I turn away and continue walking. I walk down the streets down to Linkon City turning down in an alleyway after alleyway until I enter a motel. At the desk there is an older man who looks up at me and sees me holding the cat.

"I'll take room 503," I say and he hands me the key, a black shirt, two towels, and a med kit. I take it up and memories flood my head with a memory of watching in the game the main character and Sylus were once here as she had bandaged him up. I open the door and my eyes widen in surprise.

"What are you doing here?" I ask Sylus and he's digging a bullet out of his chest with a pair of tweezers. Now it makes sense why he gave me a clean black shirt, it wasn't for me.

"Am I not allowed to be here?" He says and I scowl. Closing the door behind me I use one of the towels and wrap the cat in it. It purrs and begins kneading it. I place the other towel on the bathroom counter and the clean shirt on the bed. I walk up to him and he's sitting on the floor against the wall. I wrap his arm around my shoulder using my legs to help get him to stand up.

I bring him to the small shower and he sits down on the floor again. I turn on the shower and wash my hands in the sink before grabbing the tweezers from his hand. I take a look at the three bullet holes and sigh.

"Was it the Ever Group?" I asked searching for the bullet with the tweezers before feeling the metal clink of the bullet. He winces in pain.

"Maybe," He says, not confirming or denying it. That would make sense it was them, otherwise he would have used his Evol to remove the bullets from his arm and chest. The Ever Group had developed bullets that could be used against those with Evols, which could actually hurt or kill Sylus. I dropped one of the bullets to the floor and started my search in the second hole. He touches my cheek, pushing my hair behind my ear.

"You didn't cut your hair," he says, his fingers sliding down my hair that is gently brushing the floor as he kneels next to him.

"It's annoying to have to cut my hair each time I transform into a human, but it will be cut once I'm done here. " I say and I watch from the corner of my eye him kiss my hair as he stares at me. I can feel the clink of the next bullet and pull it out, dropping it to the floor. I look away, trying to hide my blush. Why did he have to act this way?

"I haven't seen your hair this long in a few centuries." He says letting go of my hair leaning back against the shower. The water is soaking us both though I was already wet when I had walked in.

I didn't know I would be running into him here, otherwise I would have cut it beforehand.

"The Ever Group was watching her again," I say, changing the subject. I take out the final bullet and take out the gauze from the med kit while the shower rinses the blood from his arm.

"When it left the Ex-Prince showed up shortly after," I say watching his facial expression, while wrapping the gauze around his arm. He leans forward his face inches from mine and my breath catches. I meet his gaze and he is staring intently. I wrap the gauze around his torso as well.

"Did you meet him?" He asks, watching my face closely. I lean back a little, cutting the gauze and putting the remaining roll back in the med kit. I sat on the tile floor across from him, my legs crossing on top of his.

"He gave me the umbrella," I said gesturing towards the closed wet umbrella on the floor towards the front door.

"Is that why you were soaked from head to toe when you walked in?" He scoffs rolling his eyes. He takes my hand and brushes over my scratched hands that were bleeding again.

"Why do you have cuts every time I see you?" He asks gently. My scratch marks and blood dissolve from his Evol healing me once again. I don't say anything. It's true, almost every time I've seen him I've always been injured in some way. We both freeze when we hear a meow by the doorway. We look up to see the cat I had brought in and I can see him smile.

"Always a savior, aren't you?" He asks and I scowl. I sit up and he starts to get up at the same time. As I walk out of the shower one of his arms wrap around my waist, half hugging me, his face buried in the crook of my neck. He's honestly no better than a cat. I stay still enjoying his warmth staring at the cat that is watching us curiously.

"Are you gonna shower?" He asks and I can hear him taking off his clothes. My eyes unconsciously glance at the mirror that is fogged up, preventing me from seeing anything. My eyes snap back forward and I can feel my heart race and my face get warm. I stay facing forward and walk out, never turning around.

"Let me know when you're done I'll take a shower after you." I say walking out of the bathroom and closing the door shut. Thankfully I had already left one of the towels in the bathroom with him and I can hear him chuckle lightly. I walk up to one of the bedside drawers and pull out a can of Tuna that has no seasoning. I peel the tin back and the cat can seem to tell that its food as it begins purring against my leg.

I put the can on the floor and it begins eating ravenously. The bathroom door opens and Sylus is in nothing but a towel. I try not to focus my eyes on anywhere but his body but it's proving quite difficult. I stand up and walk towards the bathroom which still has the hot water running. He's humming a familiar melody lightly and my stomach churns. I close the door behind me and peel off my clothes jumping in the shower.

Less than five minutes later I grab the blade that was in my hilt I had dropped to the floor and grab my hair in a ponytail before cutting it again. Somehow it still winded up a little lop-sided, not that I care, it would grow back the next time I transformed. I hear a knock on the door and toss my hair in the trash. I realize only then that there is no towel here.

Shit.

The door opens lightly and I see a hand holding a clean towel. I grab the towel and wait for his hand to move before closing the door. However, I am still missing clothes and I sigh exasperated. Am I going to have to change into my crow form already? I walked out of the room clutching the towel that covered my body and walked over to the closet, grabbing what usually had spare clothes in it for moments like this, but nothing was there.

I turn around and watch Sylus' gaze lingers, steadily making its way over my body and I glare at him. I put my hand out open knowing that he is hiding or holding the spare clothes hostage. He smirks lightly before handing me folded up clothes and I notice that he's shirtless but is at least wearing pants. He says nothing about my hair being short again and I instantly regret cutting it as it could have provided a little move coverage in my current situation.

"Turn around," I demand and he crosses his arms, his smirk spreading wider before silently doing as he's told. I get dressed with quick speed and precision. As if he knows that I'm done he turns around. He bends down and pets the kitten and it bares its belly to him. I'm not sure why but Sylus is extremely good at taming animals, well humans as well, I guess. I grab the black button down that's on the bed, holding it open. Sylus stands up putting his injured arm through first before his good one.

After I'm done buttoning his shirt, I get on my tip-toes to fix his collar. Suddenly, Sylus places his hand on my back and pulls me into a half embrace.

"You're warm," He says before I can say anything, he lets go of me and walks to the window and opens the curtain. It stopped raining but the sky remains dark. There are no street lights in the alley, so all I can see from the window is a pitch-black darkness.

"It's time to go." He says walking out of the room. Noticing my hesitation, he turns and beckons me with his fingers. I feel a sense of deja-vu.

"Aren't you coming?" He asks and I follow him out into the night.

Just a rant

I was so excited for things to get better and for them to have a happy ending and for Summoner to able to choose routes and date one of them... I didn't expect this at all. This game was supposed to make me happy not depressed. We just said bye and left? Wtf?

I did not like the ending... It made me have a mental breakdown fr. This was my favourite otome game and I can't believe storytaco did that! So...we say goodbye to everyone but not Sirius? Storytaco made him look crazy and they did not show us how he felt about everything that happened. I wanted a cute romance in a fantasy world but I get this!!!!

He was a black dog that sat on the blueflower hill...wtf? Sirius is the dog star, I get it, but you're going to leave it at that?

What does Arcky mean when he buys our wish and contract and everything?

Schedar and Thuban grew up with us and they were our friends in our past life? No other details were mentioned about our past life! Polaris feels like some stranger...

What about Giana, Debris and Dubhe and everyone? Were they that insignificant for them to literally not tell us anything more about them?

There were no separate routes, hell, we didn't get to kiss them! (I'm just being honest and voicing my desires, pls don't mind that) I wanted to hug Sirius and comfort him and marry him! This isn't fair. They made him so out of character in this floor. He would never let us go without saying some romantic, cryptic shit...

If they end the game here... they better keep one eye open when they sleep at night.

Alright well first off, go spread some love to @tsyshen! She's our lovely sprite artist and solo CG artist at the moment. She really has been working hard with all of the tasks I've given her. (I love you Tsy and I'm so sorry ahaaaa)

Our current UI is by @rainslices and can you believe it's their first time doing something like it? Yeah, I can't either lol

Our BGs currently are all over the place, but if you're interested to find out who made the ones for the Otome Jam demo, then they're all credited on our itch page! As for the revamped ones, we've been commissioning a handful of artists to get them done. I've already shout them out here before but, in case you haven't seen them, say thanks to: roisale, inkdem, robin, and alexis!

I've had some pretty crazy requests made for all of them so be sure to give them love!

Now for the stretch goals-- we have thought some over but nothing is terribly concrete yet so take what I say with a grain of salt. But we were thinking of putting MC customizations under there, namely so that you can decorate your room/apartment as well as a potential sprite or backstories to put in game.

My favorite one, and I really hope we can hit it, are sprite customizations. I'm already planning for seasonal outfit changes in the base game. But I would killlll for more outfit changes for our cast during a season. I'm just the tiniest bit into fashion and I want to see everyone strut their wardrobe haha

Other stretch goals include routes with the rest of the cast and maybe some NPCs you'll meet in the game. From what I see, a lot of you are interested in a Cameron route so best of luck trying to get them!

Anything else we've thought of are slice of life engagements like random texts or phone calls from the cast that isn't story related. Just the little things that you kinda want to wake up to or laugh over just because.

But yeah...

In my heart of hearts I'd really like it if we hit everything but I suppose we'll see how it goes when we launch!

Okay... I'll admit... I'm whipped for Henri. And I cannot get over it because he's making my skin, stomach, eyes, mind and all my body become a mess.

For some reason... he keeps reminding me of Mamo-kun

And I'm a hoe for that man. If he was real I'd be happy to say yes to anything. Yes. I mean ANYTHING he asked me. That's playing dirty Cheritz.... good grief~ I'm torn and I feel in pain...

I feel like I'm betraying Harry. Teo is not even on the same league those three are. And as much as I love Jumin... I think the only one that can beat Henri would be Saeran. June is cute but I don't want to date him as much as I want to take care of him and make sure he is happy. I prefer Jumin lol that reminds me~ why is Henri so obsessed with being better than Jumin? e.e Well I can understand that Jumin is better in so many ways but Henri has his own charm too... although if I ever hear Jumin talking smooth and being seductive i'm dropping my dignity right there lol

I know it's just a game but... I have some doubts about it because I have never felt so torned between the characters inside an otome. Like, how can you compete with your first love? Mamo-kun was that for me. Even the first guy I liked irl was similar to Mamoru... and Henri has that same aura. He keeps teasing me so much... I'm falling for him and I cannot believe I am liking it... It's only day 1

I love when a character keeps teasing me... feels different when you can laugh and tease back.

Ah... I'm already inspired by him to write a lot of romance. Romance! Like sweet and cute, innocent and fluffy romance. I don't write that kind of stuff since I was eight!!
