#canon event theory because there are so many faults in it

anyways enough about who would miguel date or blah blah blah that is not the foundation of his character. let me return to discussing how miguel is probably projecting all his self hatred and guilt on to miles. he wants to fix his wrongs and that's why he is so aggressive about "canon events". he claims miles destroyed an entire world, when really he just got to interfere with the canon and his life is still "fine" whereas miguel lost his entire world and his family and he resents miles for this. i also think it is why he took upon himself to lead the spiderverse to make sure other spider people don't end up in the wrong universe because that is what caused him to lose his family. he went looking for other versions of himself and now the cycle is happening to miles, not out of curiosity but because of a mistake.

I often see people saying that Miguel hates children. All I can say to such people is that their views are too shallow. And that's why they're wrong:
Tumblr media
Let's think logically. Miguel, like the entire HQ, is sure that the violation of canon events will result in the destruction of the entire universe. He has reason to believe so - before his eyes, the whole world disappeared through his own fault. That's it, it's all gone. Of course, Miguel will be sure that it is not worth violating the canon. Moreover, he knows that the universes are connected, and if you lose too many of them, then the entire multiverse will collapse, this is logical. It's like a spider web - the more holes there are in it, the sooner it will break.
Tumblr media
Miguel leads a squad that maintains the stability of the canon by dealing with anomalies. He must be sure that each of the spider-men will be reliable enough to prevent a violation of the canon event. He has no other option, he will not just forget about the minor mistakes of any spider-man from the HQ. Not because he's angry and strict, but because the safety of all universes depends on it, God damn it.
Tumblr media
He's in charge for a reason. He knows what he is doing and why, he knows what a mistake will cost. "I don't always like what I have to do. But I know that I have to be the one to do it." He knows that the canon event often costs someone their life, he knows that some spider-man will feel bad about it, but are there any other options?... Yes, in the question "one person or the whole universe" he chooses the universe, but that doesn't make him an asshole. He's trying to save millions of lives in the only reliable way he knows how.
Tumblr media
And now back to his "hatred of children." Miles. Yes, I can understand his desire to save his father, but it could destroy his universe. And yes, it is not a fact that it will be destroyed, but judging by what Miguel saw, the chance of the collapse of the universe is GREAT. And it's not just about Miles's universe, it's about all universes. A web with many holes breaks faster. If saving the universes costs Miles's father's life, if Miguel has to keep Miles at HQ by force to prevent him from making a mistake, he will do it. I don't think Miguel likes it. But he knows he has to be the one to do it.
Tumblr media
Gwen. A lot of people didn't like the way he treated her, but listen - there were reasons for that. As I said, Miguel needs to be confident in every spider-Man at HQ, it's a matter of keeping the universes safe. And Gwen let Miles go, let go of someone whose actions could destroy everything. Miguel can't count on her the way he used to, not after she let Pavitr's canon break and didn't catch Miles. He sends her home not because he hate her, but because the HQ is not a place for those who think with their gut. Here you need to think with your head, only this can be 100% sure. You can't make mistakes. HQ must not allow the disruption of the canon. They must not allow the chance of death of millions of people. So Miguel wasn't mad at Gwen. He was disappointed in her - because she couldn't make a hard choice.
Tumblr media
For the same reason, he doesn't take Peter B. on a mission. Peter didn't stop Miles when he had the chance, but unlike Gwen, he hasn't questioned Miguel's theory about the canons yet. Peter believes him, but is clearly not sure what to do next. That's why Miguel takes Jess and Ben with him, the ones he's 100% sure of.
Tumblr media
Next... Gwen's father. No one, damn it, keeps their finger on the trigger when they don't really want to shoot. Do you think he wouldn't have shot his own daughter? Oh no, he would have done it. And Miguel understood that - that's why he intervened, even though he shouldn't have been there. After all, remember - a vulture could disrupt some kind of canon event. But which one? Facereveal Gwen in front of her father, perhaps? Nevertheless, Miguel intervened. After all, he knows what it's like to deal with an Irish father named George, who is ready to raise his hand against a child.
Tumblr media
And then, even seeing Gwen's insecurity after everything that happened, he suggests that she "join the club", he knows what it's like to be all alone. And he clearly doesn't want that for Gwen.
Tumblr media
Miguel is not a bad character. Not a villain. He doesn't hate children. He's just trying to protect the universes the best he can, and he's ready to be the one who has to make the hard choice. I don't think he likes it all. He keeps doing it because he doesn't know any other way. He tried to find it - and the more he tried, the more damage he did. He’s only on the “prevent other worlds from being disrupted” step of this process and he’s already way past worn out.
Tumblr media
Look at it from this angle - if you had been working on a project for a very long time, which you had already failed once (and it was so terrible that you don't want to remember), which required all your time and effort, required you to lead people you didn't know very well, required you to constantly make choices, after which you would they always looked askance, and you yourself would feel extremely lousy, but which would clearly benefit many people... And then there was a high chance that another person would ruin everything for you, because he has another untested work plan. And this person is not listening to you, this person is not interested in your arguments, he is absolutely stubborn. Wouldn't you freak out about it? Wouldn't you be angry? Wouldn't you try to stop this person with all your might? This is not hatred of children. It's a damn fear.

Crocodad Theory: The not-so-Crack-pot Theory.
Making this post in order to replace my old Crocodad thesis since I think I can do better now. Plus I was still using the old theory name then and I dislike seeing it pinned on my tumblr now. You can find that older post HERE if you desire to!
Tumblr media
Crocodad theory, chances are you have heard about this theory if you are even slightly invested in the One Piece fandom. But despite its infamy, and outside its stanch believers like myself, it's mostly considered a crack theory and used for a laugh.
Now let's be clear, Crocodad theory is not a crack theory. A crack or crack-pot theory is more of a headcanon built on vibes, it's a fun idea made up out of thin air and isn't really serious. If the Crocodad theory was a crack theory it would have evaporated into the nether by now. It's over a decade old, after all, and yet it persists to this day! That is because the Crocodad theory has real evidence from the canon, the One Piece offshoots, and maybe even Oda himself.
If you weren't aware of the Crocodad theory, sometimes lovingly called Dadodile, let me summarize it very succinctly. The theory is that Crocodile is a transgender man and gave birth to Luffy. Crocodile is Luffy's other father and his birthing parent. If you think that sounds ridiculous or even hilarious, let me walk you through it because I assure you- that is intentional.
Let us begin where the theory began... Impel Down.
The possibility for this theory was born in 2009 with these panels:
Tumblr media
The simple fact that Ivankov exists and that he knows Crocodile, from "when he was just starting out" mind you, makes this not only possible but probable.
What other "secret" could Ivakov be speaking of here? It's definitely not his weakness to water, that would just be bad storytelling. It could be that Crocodile is the child of Rocks which is possible considering we now know Ivankov was at the Gods Valley incident. But if I could speak as a writer for a moment, it would really be a waste for an author to introduce a character that can change genders and then bring back one of the first big villains like Crocodile, AND THEN connect the two with the mention of weakness but not make that secret that Crocodile had once been a woman. Or even at least a part of the reason.
But if that reasoning falls through for you, here is some in-canon evidence for the idea that Crocodile is transgender:
First of all, the agents' code names are so gendered: Every single digit agent is Mr with a Mrs, or Ms partner.
Crocodile’s name. His moniker is different from almost every other powerful pirate the story introduces to us. He isn’t just Desert King Crocodile, he is Desert King Sir Crocodile. Again it is oddly pronoun-centered. As if he is trying to remind people that he’s a guy.
The introduction of Bon Clay. Bon Clay is our first canon queer character in One Piece. He makes mention of being a girl many times and feels like a joke character when we first meet him. But as we know in One Piece, a pirate crew is a reflection of the Captain. Crocodile isn’t prejudiced to queer people like Bon Clay alludes to others being a few times. Crocodile even allowed Bon Clay to be both the male and female of his team!
Next up was the reveal of Baby Crocodile and how it’s deliberating ambiguous what gender Crocodile is. In every other Warlord's childhood look reveal, their gender is obvious, so why was Crocodile left out of that?
Tumblr media
Then of course we have Gold Roger's execution, and how almost everyone got a reaction panel. But not Crocodile. No, we only see the back of his head. Oda has shown that he loves to get every single character's reaction to major events, sometimes to a fault. So why is he trying so hard to hide Crocodile from us? It just isn’t Oda’s style to leave someone out unless there is some kind of secret he wants to build up too. Now be sure to keep this in mind for later.
Tumblr media
Last but certainly not least is just how much of an absolute troll Oda is. This will not be the last time I bring this up, Oda is a HUGE troll. He loves to play to his favorite fan theories and he decides most everything on how funny it is. And wouldn't it be funny if the first antagonist in the Grandline was secretly the birth parent of Luffy?
I mean just look at this! Oda, you absolute troll.
Tumblr media
Bottom line: Trans Crocodile is more likely than not.
But this is where a lot of people decide the rest of this theory is crack, they take Trans!Crocodile and leave Crocodad out for reasons I honestly can't understand. Despite that, Cracodad has just as much if not more evidence than the Transgender part of this theory.
Before I begin I would like everyone reading to keep a few things in mind. All throughout the Impel down arc and the journey to Marineford, and even the first few chapters into Marineford, Crocodile could not have given a shit about Luffy, Ace, or the war at all. He did not care who won the war or if everyone involved died. He came to the battlefield for the sole purpose of killing Whitebeard. PERIOD. He was never once shown reacting with any concern when Luffy began facing down anyone strong. Not even Magellan. Crocodile had been around Luffy, seeing him do inspiring things for a massive amount of chapters by the time we get to Marineford, and yet Crocodile literally didn't care if Luffy lived or died, he just wanted to fight Whitebeard.
With that clear let's move on to what happened after Luffy's father was revealed to the world in Marineford. This moment is where the most obvious evidence first came about:
When Sengoku announces Luffy's father to the world we get many reaction shots, but once again Crocodile is conveniently missing from the lineup. He even disappears for a whole chapter! The young man who took down his decade-long plan to take over Alabasta just got announced to be the most wanted man in the world son, and we get no reaction from Crocodile... its suspicious.
Crocodile stopped Ace’s execution: Now Crocodile explains this by saying he ‘didn’t want to let Sengoku have the pleasure of victory’ but seriously? What kind of petty ass BS reasoning is that?! Crocodile has dreams and ambitions, and yet he gives up trying to be the one to take down Whitebeard to randomly save someone he canonly mocks in Impel Down? Someone he doesn’t care about. Some people will tell you it’s because Luffy inspired him like Luffy does many others, but what exactly is Luffy doing in Marineford that he didn’t in Impel Down or even Alabasta? Nothing. That means Crocodile has an entire about-face for no believable reason while completely off-screen. Which we've already said isn't Oda's style.
Daz and Crocodile face Mihawk to help Luffy: When Daz blocks Mihawk’s strike, Luffy questions it. Daz answers: It’s an order from above! That means Crocodile ordered Daz to specifically protect Luffy. Again, why? What reason did he have to do that? If this was some latent Crocodile has been inspired™️ moment, why wouldn’t Oda show it? Oda loves to hype up those moments, and loves to detail it all to the smallest piece. But Crocodile just randomly decided to have his main man Daz look out for this person that he COULDN’T HAVE GIVEN A CRAP ABOUT JUST TEN EPISODES BEFORE does not fit within the story. Then, right after Daz blocks Mihawk, Crocodile appears out of the woodwork to block another attack.
Tumblr media
When Mihawk questions why he’d protect Luffy, Crocodile’s only response is “I’m not in the best mood now, Mihawk, you better watch yourself.” It’s interesting that he has no reason, none, he just comments that he’s in a shit mood. Maybe because he just found out he once stabbed his own child in the gut and left him to die?!
Crocodile vs Akainu: The brother killing Lava Man™️ is probably the most dangerous person in the war. He has no mercy, no morals, no restraint. So the fact that as Luffy is lying comatose and weak, with Jimbe slumped over him, Akainu about to deliver the final blow, Crocodile coming out of nowhere once again is so telling.
Tumblr media
The fact is: Crocodile went above and beyond to save Luffy. That final stand against Akainu is so powerful. Crocodile doesn’t just save Luffy, he rushes to Luffy's aid, slicing through Akainu and reassembles to stand protectively between them. He did not need to do this at all. Oda didn’t need to have him do this either!
There were plenty of other characters that could have essentially done the same exact thing, but Oda chose to have Crocodile, someone who shouldn’t have been on Luffy’s side at all, save his life in the final moment.
Lastly, without a word, Crocodile uses Sables to get Luffy to Law’s ship. He risked his life, faced down the one person who could kill him without a second thought, and sweeps Luffy away to safety without any stated reason at all. In fact, everything he says is deliberately vague. Crocodile doesn’t believe in loyalty, he dumps people if they are weak (see; Alabasta Crocodile vs Luffy desert fight) so his line of “you gotta protect the one you wanna protect! Don’t let them have their way!” Feels so out of character. Crocodile has to have a reason for this odd behavior. And no, it doesn’t end there! In the defense of Luffy, Crocodile has an awesome and powerful moment where he stands in unity with all the Whitebeard commanders. HIS ENEMIES. Crocodile stands in unity with the people, he himself stated he hated more than anything, for Luffy!
These are the moments that alerted people to what would soon be called the Crocomom theory, now called Crocodad. But just because it began there doesn't mean there wasn't foreshadowing from before Marineford.
Let's go over all of that now:
First to talk about is once again Crocodile's crew. Miss Father's Day debuted in episode 124 of the anime and chapter 205 of the manga. She has a green amphibian theme to her, which is interesting because she is a woman with the moniker Father's Day while also having a theme of an animal that is famous for being able to change its gender. Her debut episode even has her introduced along with the reveal that Luffy's using his blood to fight Crocodile.
The next point is something Oda has never explained. Crocodile has strange relationships with children. From hiring a sixteen-year-old Miss Goldenweek, leaving her out of the Mr. 3 assassination order, and her history of actually sinking Crocodile's ships before getting hired, all the way to how Crocodile lectured Luffy in their fight. It just had the cadence of a parent. Not even Luffy's parent, just a parent. He lectures like someone who has experience with children.
Next, Luffy does not look like Dragon. That is a direct quote from Luffy in the manga. But you know who he does look like?
Tumblr media
That's right! Luffy looks a lot like Crocodile. If you need more convincing on this, there is a great post by Dashevacotton that puts together many of the best canon pictures of Luffy dressed up like Crocodile. That post is here!
Crocodile and Luffy are incredibly similar. Not just in looks, but in personality, and in their general life.
These two have so much in common. From having a way with animals, to the amount of unadulterated loyalty they've inspired in their crews, all the way to the cadence of their speech.
Crocodile and Luffy even have a similarly goofy reaction to seeing the underground passage to the Alabasta Poneglyph.
Episode 123, episode time 13:16 Crocodile spots the entrance and laughs, "Ha, now I see secret stairs." Also in episode 123, episode time 20:47 Luffy looks around and spots the secret stairs. "That hole... it looks gator-ish."
Even what we know of Crocodile's backstory is that he had a rapid rise to fame just like Luffy by being a rookie who came in and beat down non-canon characters like Douglas Bullet to the shock of the world.
Next, let's bring up an earlier point: Oda-sensei is a mega troll.
This isn't exactly new information, Oda once deflected to bringing up a dick fight instead of answering if Zoro or Sanji was stronger. He is a Troll. He loves wordplay, and he likes to hint hint nudge nudge us all day long. Just look at Oda having Sanji call himself a prince in Alabasta as a joke, only to realize years later that he actually was a prince.
It's because of Oda's tendency to play around and make knowing jokes we've gotten some pretty compelling evidence for the Crocodad theory.
First would be the wordplay!
-Crocodile is closely linked to a Bananawani-> Monkeys like Banana -> Monkey D. Dragon is a reptilian Monkey attracted to Banana reptile. Fight me - A 'crocodile smile' is a term most often used to mean a fake or ingenuine smile. Crocodile's scar has been liked to look like a 'crocodile smile', which would mean Crocodile is the only character that always has a smile on his face. What a fun bit of wordplay to foreshadow the birth parent of Joyboy!
Then there is this SBS alongside the One Piece School spin-off manga by Sohei Koj.
Tumblr media
What a great way to get out of revealing Luffy's parentage without actually revealing it!
And of course, we have the One Piece Mafia Theatre episode of the anime.
Tumblr media
Oda would certainly make this canon just because of his troll tendencies. This is a hilarious theory because the story supports it yet only a fringe group believes in it. It's hilarious and therefore it's probably true.
Lastly, the symbolism makes this theory truly great.
I've already mentioned how Crocodile's scar being a 'crocodile smile' and thus giving him a permanent smile on his face would make him the most meaningful candidate for Luffy's birth parent. Joyboy, our Sun God Nika, was born from a man with a permanent fake smile; who is also named after an animal with the world's biggest smile.
It's just such a perfect setup, it makes my writer's heart swell.
Since Oda has stated a mother in One Piece would stop the adventure, it would fit that the first major villain in the Grandline to try and stop Luffy's adventure ended up being the man who gave birth to Luffy.
If we are going to speak of symbolism, I'd be remiss not to mention what a crocodile spiritually symbolizes. I really don't think I need to explain why adaptability, creation, ambiguity, and duality mean so much to this theory.
Tumblr media
This theory could die or be confirmed any day now that we've entered a God's Valley flashback. I will love it either way but truly, honestly, I believe this. I hope I convinced a few of you to. If you are interested in the succinct list of Crocodad evidence that post is Here!
So in conclusion...
Crocodad is canon!

Answering some asks about the dad Murase lives AU under the cut because you are forcing me to think about what I've created (❤)
Tumblr media
@inkingkitsune
Murase had to know about N's less-than-savoury work. He was hired as a security guard (thanks to his brother) for a military facility for which he was told to kill any trespassers on sight. And his brother had been legally dead for a decade! But the main difference between the two brothers is that while N will still do horrors in the name of his job, Murase has spent his life after the war trying to help people to atone for what he had to do to survive. I think having to face concrete proof of what his brother did/does, especially without the immediate pressure of war and survival to "justify" his actions, to a kid he's grown somewhat attached to? That would be really hard on him.
-
Tumblr media
Frankly I had never heard of that theory before, and after considering it, I can't agree with it. The government has expressed barely any interest in Chuuya, N seems to have acted on his own. The PM has so many ability users, and abilities are so unknown to the general public, with or without Chuuya, it was an important move to make, and there was no normal legal way of getting it.
As for Oda... I fear he's going to suffer the same fate. In another post I did wonder if Mori would try to be more careful with Dazai, since we know he was very careful to nurture Chuuya's loyalty and bond to the mafia. But after thinking about it, while Mori felt bitter after Dark Era (please read the light novel), he says he would still do it because the permit was so important to get. Chuuya going away here wasn't his fault, so I see no reason he wouldn't do things especially differently. Maybe he'd feel even more bitter though.
-
Tumblr media
If Oda dies the same way... it's a fun question. Dazai would leave, Dazai would still refuse to work for the government, so his options are limited. I can't imagine Chuuya leaving at 16, join the ADA, and the mafia not knowing a thing about it? So what would Dazai do? Chuuya left and joined a group and now that group is his only option in Yokohama. If he wants to join them, he'll still have to wait two years for his records to be erased and hidden. And he knows Chuuya is gonna be there, and he knows him!! How frustrating and stressful is that wait going to be?
I'd like Chuuya to be gone when Dazai first joins, so Entrance Exam can still take place in a similar way. Maybe he accompanied Ranpo on his contract out of town? I do wonder if he'd confront Dazai publicly or in private... I'm still not sure how much he told the ADA about his own origins.
-
Tumblr media
I've decided that Chuuya leaves after the Dragon Head Conflict (after loosing a second set of friends in the same year), because this time, he has someone waiting for him to offer him an out. And this is interesting from a skk point of view. At that point, Dazai has already met both Oda and Ango, and technically, Double Black has made a name of themselves. Chuuya would be leaving at the creation/peak of Double Black, barely giving it enough time to get their name. But all that we know (so far) of what they were up to as teenagers has happened already! And Dazai has met Oda and Ango, he has a support system now! They'll be fine. Well, as fine as their canon counterparts anyway.
This is also funny because their "history" is less than two years of absolute hell, then a 5/6-year gap, and suddenly they're coworkers again.
-
Tumblr media
Honestly I don't know if Murase would have an opportunity to see it or its repercussions? I doubt he saw Chuuya directly after Verlaine (you know, mafia and all that), and I think Chuuya would be the one to seek him out after the DHC. I truly think you could count the amount of times Corruption was maybe used by Double Black in canon back then on one hand, and in this AU, it's literally only twice. Unless Asagiri planned for another big event and hasn't told us yet, I don't think Chuuya has had to use Corruption again in this AU until Lovecraft.
MAYBE someone would notify Chuuya's dad guardian that his son charge was badly injured, but with Yosano in the room, I doubt it would make it back to him. Same thing with Dead Apple. Murase lives in a blessed world where he knows Chuuya's powerful, but doesn't know the extent of it.
Tumblr media
Have a lil' doodle for making it all the way down here! (it's Chuuya's first week or something)

Hi! If it's okay to ask/request, could you do TFA Decepticons and Autobots, of your choice with Human Reader? Can be romantic/platonic
Reader's a fan of fnaf-related, from games, books, lores, movie, etc…
A/n: Absolutely Anon, thank you for the request! Sorry for any grammatical errors or making the characters to OOC. Sorry for any misinterpretation of the prompt anon, these can be seen as platonic or romantic (sorry for not including the fnaf movie, i haven't seen it and it wouldn't do justice to write about it, but I'll definitely go back and write the headcanon after i watch it)
TFA Autobots/Decepticons x GN!Fnaf Fan Reader (Platonic/Romantic)
Optimus
At first he would think it was based off of real events, in which you've had to remind him they're not. It's just a videogame
I think he'll find it odd how you could be so interested in something entirely fictional (he's not judging tho, man is a history nerd and he knows it) he may be just a bit concerned in the beginning
But it all shifted when you mentioned the books
That peaked his interest and you give some recommendations on the first ones to read. Obviously reminding him that what happens in the books doesn't happen in the games
I feel like he's a night owl and will definitely be reading them late at night. Sometimes you even join in and it becomes a fun little geeking out session, especially when he has so many questions and you're happy to answer
Ironically more into the horror aspect of fnaf (especially in some of the books because damn, messed up shit do be happening) and he's eating it all up fr (rip matpat mpreg that he read because, you little shit, you'd definitely tell him about it. Man was beyond flabbergasted and also learned about the theory side of fnaf) (definitely one was to make an impression 💀)
I think he's definitely more of a casual fan of fnaf
Bumblebee
Probably the most open to learning about your interests, especially fnaf
He thought it would be something simple like the video games he's played while on earth, boy was he wrong
You've got him hooked on the lore, it confused him at first but you guided him through the most confusing bits, like not canon works like the books, security breach, the peak of the fandom etc.
You guy's definitely watched "An Undeniably Canon Five Nights at Freddy's Timeline" and he was definitely hollering while watching it with you and it helped him understand the lore just a bit better (bonus that y'all watched it like a movie night!)
In absolute awe of the Fnaf songs, each one is a banger
He'll definitely ramble about it with you if it's your hyperfixation and he's always happy to learn more about what makes you happy
Bulkhead
More reluctant on it especially because it's in the horror genre and i don't think he takes it too well
He understands the idea and how it can be interesting but you might need to leave out agony and renment, might frighten him too much
Please don't show him the VHS tapes, that'll certainly scare the color off of him
He listens to the songs and thinks the community is very creative
Definatly likes the more cute and wholesome side of fnaf
Overall he's open to you but be mindful of his heart, he's a softie
Prowl
I feel like he may be the hardest one to introduce to but it's not your fault, it's bumblebee's (He's bothered prowl with videogames and stuff before)
But i think he'd give you a chance, seeing that he cares alot about you and this means alot to you
I think he'd be more intrigued with the horror mechanics of the game, learning how a mix of jumbled sounds and scenes could scare someone
He'd be down to play it/ watch you play it/ watch gameplays
He definitely jumps ip from the jumpscares. In his defense he was caught off guard
Overall he'd be supportive, listening to you explain the convoluted story and all the details
He'd remember just about everything you tell him. It's how he shows he cares, actively listening and remembering things you like
He'd find it cute how you like fnaf so much, reminds him of how focused and happy nature makes him
Ratchet
He at first waves you off, saying that he's to busy or tired to care
But this guy's got a soft spot for you
So he might not take the deep dive into fnaf, but he definitely listens to you
He'll let you ramble while he's working on something. Sometimes you feel like you're being overbearing and stop talking, he notices of course, "I'm still listening, this William guy sure is a piece of work"
He remembers everything you tell him, so you find yourself over the moon when he remembers some reference you said like a month ago
Finds himself pleasantly surprised that it's more interesting than just a horror game, but i feel like he'll deny that (but watch him ask what else happened)
Blurr
He probably is taking this more seriously than what he needs to, but you appreciate it
"So you're telling me that the sorrow he felt for losing his youngest son led him down a desperate path that ended up killing his own daughter on accident, but by then he was so broken he killed Henry's daughter, while also pushing away his eldest son, which would lead up into Micheal vengefully chasing down his father until Henry managed to trap everyone and put an end to Williams torment on all his victims and family?" He'd practically babble almost incoherently fast
Yeah that's practically it
He'd definitely like the more theoretical parts of Fnaf like how William had gotten away with it that long, why they didn't find the body's, etc.(he's practically a police officer as well, this is all up in his alley)
He's a quick learner and basically devours everything you show him, both invested and interested to learn why you love it so much
He found his answer and a hyperfixation!
Megatron
Being on earth for as long as he has, just collecting dust and not being able to go anywhere is pretty crushing... And boring
He'd listen to you ramble on the premise that he's so utterly bored that he'd listen to just about anything
He'd be on the edge of his seat waiting to hear what happens next, he'd be interested if you also showed him just about everything
He'd grow used to it and doesn't sincerely care what anyone else thinks, letting you ramble and just enjoy yourself
He'd be lying if he didn't say he enjoyed that time together
He'll let you sit on his shoulder and just go off
He's basically unfazed by it but enjoying it
Starscream
Probably freaks him out ngl but he'd shake it off under the impression that he couldn't be afraid of such a silly human story
Oh boy wait until he hears about the spring lock failure
But as much as it would freak him out man is invested to know everything
He'd jump up and scream at the jump scares when watching the gameplay. Every. Time.
He'd be in a love-hate relationship with fnaf, loving the complexity but hating the horror aspects
Honestly you rambling about it helps ease him into it, you're calming and so happy when you talk about it
Black Arachnia
Might not be as interested in the beginning, halfheartedly listening until you mention Springtrap
He reminds her of herself, an abomination both organic and technology. Both painful experiences and the agony of never being what they once were
She ends up enjoying listening to you explain how agony and remnant works. It's reminds her of her experiments to return herself to normal
She'd listen to you as she works, using your voice as a way to ground herself as she works
Definitely shocked at the family drama, but she loves the tea
Overall happy to be able to have one more thing to talk to you about.
Blitzwing
He's having a field day
"Such interesting methods of disposing the bodies- Yeah, what a cold hearted killer- Oh! Killer like the music!"
His three sides are all equally interested in it, job well done!
One is analyzing the crime aspects, one is taking the story at face value, and of course the other one is just as/ if not more ecstatic about it
He loves it and loves learning more about it and rambling with you
Will listen to a Fnaf playlist with you happily, especially because it reminds him of you
Idk but something tells me he'd laugh at the jumpscares, thinks the suspense is funny
Lugnut
He's surprised you fan remember so much about Fnaf. Like theres just so much
I feel like he'd boast about how much you know. "Look at the genius before you, they know more about this subject than anyone!"
He's super supportive
He'd drop just about anything he's doing to give you his full undivided attention
If you sometimes forget that you've already told him something and say it again you're doing him a solid. He doesn't have the best memory but hes enthusiastic!
He's proud of you and isn't afraid to show it, as you shouldn't be afraid to share of what you like with him
Shockwave
Man has been working on the clock for ages. I feel like when he'd listen to you introduce him to fnaf he was honestly so overworked and stressed that he just needed a distraction
And indeed it was a distraction
If you're the type to go into long rants for hours, sign him up
Definitely asking questions and just actively indulging with you
It's honestly adorable
If anyone asks what you're doing at his desk, he'll just shoo them off saying that you're a key part of his work
He's interested, hooked and loving it
Show him the music and that's a new guilty pleasure for him. He listens to them while he works quietly, never thought he'd enjoy it so much
Definitely eager to learn about everything; books, games, you name it, he wants to know
Loves spending more time with you, especially bonding over your interest!

kyubey's main defense for "why do you cause the suffering and deaths of billions, if not trillions, of children?" is something about how the magical girl system (girls contracting, girls turning into witches, etc) creates energy to combat entropy and the heat death of the universe. while kyubey and incubators as a whole are presented as extremely advanced, logical, and emotionless as a species, this "defense" shows how irrational and paranoid they are.
the universe is still in its "early" years. it is not near its end or even its middle years in any sense of the word. entropy and heat death will not be any concern in the slightest for trillions of years, and that's an absolute low ball amount based on my pathetic math skill guess of the figures. the actual year estimates until heat death i can find all have numbers so large they aren't even written out normally, they're written using scientific notation. a few have said numbers listed like "1.7×10^106yrs (if protons decay)". that is a truly unfathomable amount of time.
yet the Facts And Logic, "why is human thought so irrational?" species is so worked up over this far future event (that is not an immediate threat in any way, shape, or form) that they use their irrational paranoia over it to justify murdering children and causing them to turn into the literal personifications of their own personal misery. "for the greater good" and "the ends justify the means" don't apply when the argument is this backwards.
even if you want to headcanon that maybe entropy was approaching at some point, and they had to beat it back before, which is why they're so worried — it's implied in canon that the present day pmmmverse is in no immediate danger. besides the fact that they'd likely be issuing contracts to literally anyone and everyone if that were the case, all that is said is that madoka witching out caps their necessary quota or something, so they don't need to worry about it for now. this sort of implies that it's not a current crisis, or else why would they stop the second they met this "cap"? why not continue elsewhere to get extra energy?
if incubators are immortal and are concerned for that reason, they have a literal infinite time to figure out a better or more convenient solution. current human theory already has questioned whether things like creating other/new universes intentionally is possible (and seeing that ours exist, "creating universes" is clearly possible Somehow). why not try to contact (adult) humans and exchange information or theories? sure, incubators are supposed to be highly intelligent and almost see humans as cattle, but they've been outsmarted by even human Children before in canon (madoka's wish being the prime example, and that was something thought out by a middle schooler). logic can only go so far, and this is said by someone who, irl, tends to look and act like the -_- emoji when not masking. humans could toss "dumb/silly" ideas at the wall, and incubators could use their advanced technologies and experience to see if they would work. perhaps a solution to escaping the universe/preventing heat death/etc could be found via cooperation, as opposed to "we must murder children because we are scared of something that will happen a zillion years from today, it's not our fault 🥺". many a human idea has been born simply out of "i wonder if this will work?" as opposed to only sticking to logical steps or only doing one thing forever, because you know that One thing For Sure works. even if it's tedious/more trouble than it's worth for the outcome. but incubators do not know or try this, because due to canon implications, it seems their MO has always been "lets murder the populace for miniscule amounts of energy" (as seen by the alien magical girl in one of the games) instead of "maybe we should try to find a solution together".

I have to agree. I will argue that cwac is well written but it's essentially just different characters with a bnha coat of paint, it was written so many years ago where it could've technically been a direction taken but canon has deviated so far from it no longer resembles anything close to it. The problem begins when some take it as a canon interpretation when it was not leading to infighting and misreading of canon events and character, although this is no fault of the author who I believe is still very talented.
When I first got into the fandom circa 2018, right before Hawks debuted, I was super obsessed with Deku and so CWAC was up my alley. But the moment I started paying attention to the villains, somehow it clearly dawned on me how not only OOC the story was but just how much the author clearly dislikes characters like Shigaraki or Dabi and how much it shows, fairly juvenile-y.
I won't argue that the author isn't talented, but over the years a friend who was also a very Big Writer at the time of CWAC's popularity 2018-ish has told me how discussions about the League went very badly.
The issue still is the fandom. I absolutely blame DFO on CWAC and the other work of the author that the name escapes me. Even now, when I look at DFO dynamics or the weird afo inko obsession they absolutely clearly have elements from the fic, so essentially what CWAC did was establish such a clear fanon that even non-fic readers have taken it as part of the theory.
I mean, again this is more the issue of the fandom in general just clinging on to very old perceptions of characters and plots. I'm going to rant about that below.
I'll use Tomura as an example because what made me dislike CWAC was the handling of him when I started to realize just how rich Horikoshi made Tomura 's character. Some shig-haters never get passed Kamino in what they think of him, and there are the LOV stans who haven't caught up with the idea that actually the MLA arc was *bad* for the League and are still in the viewpoint that the villains are revolutionaries. So there's these spaces where Shigaraki is just seen as a murderous incel versus Shigaraki is Che Guevara incarnate.
And these echo chambers are so removed from each other that very often little nuance penetrates, so you have incredibly established fanon truths that are rarely deviated from and people just stop examining the source material. Then conflict arises when you leave the echo chamber and talk to someone else.
Also worth mentioning is that the fandom echo chambers manage to function as they do by assigning moral values to any "thought crimes" that don't line up with accepted fanon-"canon". Don't think the League are super-radicals who will actually liberate society and create a Marxist utopia? Well you're a capitalist pig who supports cops, bye. You can see it with the very hardcore hero stans who think liking a villain means condoning murder too, "why do you like terrorists?" Or come into my inbox to tell me Jin's murder was justified. Fandom is very good at policing itself into cliques, to the detriment of everyone, I think.
It also, I think, created the situation where people in this fandom genuinely hate the work, keep reading it in bad faith due to those ingrained fanon expectations and preconceptions of what the work should be, and then get more and more resentful as time goes on and their views are not even acknowledged.
Seriously, just look back at the reaction of hero stan Twitter and reddit bros at Himiko's whole fight with Ochako. There was so much hatred of how Himiko was being redeemed.
There are still canon DFO fans. I feel sorry for those who had to look at this chapter and realize that what they've sunk so much time into was not real. Disappointment hurts, man.
Anyway, thanks for listening to me rant. I find it fascinating in an academic sense how so much of fandom was shaped by a fic and I wonder if at some point someone will examine it critically.

I feel really bad for the originator of the Ashford theory, reading those posts you screencapped. It's not a 'crack theory' (unless they're putting it down because Jonsas took a serious hold of it), since structural foreshadowing is a basic storytelling tool. Hiding poetry in history, which seems a past-time GRRM particularly enjoys--- it's not just there to be there, but to lesson us in reading the past and make us understand the current story more deeply.
We should be confident in our analyses, regardless of whether we share a ship in common (I am do believe in Jonsa, but this goes for everyone), because storytelling can generally be trusted to be intentional. Anybody who wants to act like being incurious is more intellectually justifiable because it's less emotionally fraught is not worth spending time on. It is actually disappointing when stories are not considered and thoughtful (which is not a testament to so-called 'complexity'; The Little Prince is considered and thoughtful)--- fault in reading too much into things usually lay in perspective, less in doubt of substance.
Then again, Originator of Ashord Theory being possessive as claimant probably points more to dismissing it as crack because other people have taken ahold of it in a way they didn't like. If I am perfectly honest, were it not them having noticed it, someone else would have later (and someone else on Reddit did).
It's exactly the sort of thing I look for when I am engaging in a story because it is a tool I see used often. It was what attracted me to Jonsa, not that I was looking for evidence.
(about this ask)
The issue definitely wasn’t a lack of confidence in their own reading, they’re a tumblr BNF! I think Jonsas have written so much about it and so convincingly, it’s become widely viewed as a Jonsa theory and eclipsed the original intent which is their problem with it. Sometime ago someone shared an AltShift video here (a YouTube BNF), and he had included the Ashford Tourney as evidence for Jonsa, so I do think the goal of the blogger now labeling it “crack” is to detract from the Jonsa of it/for shipping reasons, not because they don’t believe in their own work.
As for the broader idea, I certainly agree that pre canon characters and events are written to add depth to the canon events. We can all expect that and look for parallels and contrasts with assurance that they are conversing with each other. It seems to me that every part of the fandom attempts that in some way, we simply come to different conclusions about what those things mean. I can look at something and accept a Jonsa interpretation but also understand, there’s another factor here too. And while I agree that many things are intentional in ASOIAF, I’m also aware that things can subconsciously influence and slip into a work. I recently watched this clip of Spielberg being told, he didn’t recognize this on his own, that he had included his parents love story in a film. Anyone might think, it had to be deliberate, but it wasn’t!
So, not saying anyone should be less confident, I just think it’s good to be aware that after a parallel is recognized, our interpretation of it is where we can all take off in different directions. For example, Jonnel and Sansa is perhaps the most beloved Jonsa foreshadowing (if it isn’t the Ashford Tourney 😅), and I absolutely think it’s groundwork for canon events. The question isn’t if it is, but how. Will it be a parallel, only, the point of the marriage this go around is to right a wrong? Give the girl her home back? (If say, Robb’s Will is recognized). I’ve questioned that simply because it seems like a big task to get everyone on board with Jon being legitimate and becoming their Lord and/or their King only to have them then immediately turn around and all accept he’s actually a Targ and will marry his “sister.” I wouldn’t be mad if that’s what Martin did, but when I think about how much agency he likes to give non POV characters, I’m a little skeptical he’d pull that turnaround off.
So then I think, well, maybe the idea is that unlike Jonnel, Jon will refuse Winterfell again and insist it is Sansa’s again only to ultimately be rewarded in the end by marrying her when she has the power to choose, and she chooses him? People have been very outspoken about how dumb they think the idea of Sansa being QitN is, and maybe that’s too much of a leap for the North because Martin does like his realism, but considering all the female heirs talk going on, Martin is certainly going to say something there, and Jon will have some complicating factors that might make Sansa more favorable to people.
Basically, Jon is a good person, he’ll do right by the Starks, is that the entire point? Look at the way the older generation of men treated women, this generation will be better? Or will Martin use the extraordinary circumstances to benefit Sansa / female heirs? Create an entirely new normal for the North? The story will talk to itself, but what exactly is it saying? That we can endlessly debate!

idk if zuko is a peoples pleaser or he just felt untitled to katara’s forgiveness but he does say “she hates me and i don’t know why, BUT I DO CARE WHAT SHE THINKS OF ME “ and before that he does safe katara from crushing rocks 🪨 and katara lends her hand when he is falling and appa caches him, i think zuko genuinely start to care about katara and sees her as an ally or friend and the southern raiders quest wasn’t JUST for Zuko’s selfish reasons, a part of it was, sure, but not the whole reason, Zuko’s cares about kataraa or at least cares what she thinks of him, we all that saying doesn’t he is in love with her or at the end he ends loving her in a romantic way lol nothing about what happened in canon or the way the writers wrote was about falling in love hahahah
There's a difference between "I care that this person I'm trying to befriend thinks I'm absolute scum" and "I am recognizing my mistakes and want to be better."
Zuko full on made up some bullshit theory of Katara directing her anger towards her mom's killer onto him instead of recognizing the simple fact that Katara was still pissed at him for the events of Ba Sing Se - in which they talked about her MOM, hence her bringing Kya up again.
This is the complete opposite of what zutarians claim Zuko did - they claim he wanted to be better for Katara, not just in the sense of being inspired by her into becoming a better person but in wanting someone worthy of dating her. Meanwhile he is REAPEATEDLY told why she hates his guts, and goes "This cannot possibly be my fault. She's projecting her issues onto me. If I help her fix her trauma, she'll HAVE to be chill with me being part of the group."
And him saving her doesn't change that - they're on the same side, on the same team. OF COURSE he's going to save her. Doesn't mean they have some deep bond.
I believe Zuko WANTED them to be genuine friends, hence him saying he cared that she thought he was a terrible person, but the way he went about it was COMPLETELY wrong and selfish.
It just so happened that, in true Zuko fashion, following the wrong path eventually led to him doing the right thing - aka actually listening to Katara, understanding her grief, realizing that VIOLENCE WASN'T GONNA FIX HER TRAUMA, and finally, looking genuinely surprised when she decided to forgive him, because, by that point in the episode, he was no longer demanding her friendship and forgiveness because he felt entitled to it, but was instead started actually showing genuine empathy towards Katara and her family. And the key thing is HE HAD NOT EVEN REALIZED IT UNTIL THE END OF THE EPISODE, aka it wasn't a case of Zuko making an effort for Katara.
Not to mention: That was ONE episode. Just one. One single instance of Zuko allegedly wanting to be better "for Katara" (which as I've already explained, it's bullshit). Meanwhile we have three seasons of his character arc having NOTHING TO DO WITH HER because, surprise surprise, Katara was not important to Zuko at all for 95% of the show, including during a good chunk of his "good guy" days. She is completely irrelevant to Zuko's redemption, no matter how many shippers insist otherwise.

ATSV SPOILERS AHEAD !!!
ok listen. i love miguel. his character is absolutely phenomenal. but he is so incredibly wrong with his theory.
there are like… so many things that just don’t make sense going after his logic. IF we assumed that miles was the ‚original anomaly‘ then:
wouldn’t the whole universe of earth-42 be collapsing as we speak??? because aside from the fact that there is no spiderman, it seems to be fine. no holes. no glitching. no nothing. the spider was supposed to bite someone there. but it didn’t. canon disrupted right? NOTHING HAPPENED.
mayday wouldn’t be allowed to exist. which like… this makes so much sense why miguel is trying so hard to ignore her here:
Tumblr media
according to his theory, she would disappear just like his daughter (i bet the fact that shes alive and well is eating him up inside) and i really doubt he has told any of this to peter b. bc he would definitely lose his support then.
miles universe wouldn’t be unaffected right? like all of the universal disturbances happening (including what’s happening in pav‘s universe) are caused by spot. or more generally: by people messing around with this stuff in the first place. WHAT CAUSED ALL THIS MESS WAS KINGPIN TRYING TO BRING BACK HIS FAMILY. HE WAS TRYING TO PERMANENTLY BRING THEM INTO HIS UNIVERSE. now correct me if i’m wrong but that is VASTLY different from just… saving someone that was „supposed to die“. AND MIGUEL DID SOMETHING EXTREMELY SIMILAR BY TRYING TO PERMANENTLY PLACE HIMSELF IN A UNIVERSE THAT WASNT HIS.
Tumblr media
THAT is what made the universe collapse. THAT is what miles and the others prevented from happening when they stopped kingpin. SPEAKING OF: wasn’t penny losing her robot like a canon event? now how could a canon event be triggered in a fight that, considering that miles is an ‚anomaly‘ in the first place, shouldn’t have happened that way?
Tumblr media
it’s such incredibly flawed logic and i can’t wait to see miguel realise that in btsv. it hurts sm knowing that he’ll have to come to terms with the fact that… what he is doing won’t prevent any of this from happening again. this whole ‚protecting the multiverse‘ thing is him trying to repent in a way for what happened to his family. but he’ll have to face the fact at some point: he simply fucked up. it is in fact his fault. it’s so tragic that he insists on being the good guys, but it blinds him to reality.
what i think makes way more sense is the original notion of parallel universes miles learns about in the first movie. the whole point of the existence of parallel universes is that they are NON-LINEAR. they’re this web of possible events. POSSIBLE. NOT NON-NEGOTIABLE!!!!! with the existence of parallel universes there’s agency. there’s freedom. because you aren’t disrupting any set future. ITS YOUR CHOICE. THERE ARE A MILLION POSSIBILITIES.
Tumblr media
and here we’ve arrived at the whole core message in these movies: DO IT LIKE YOU. NO EXPECTATIONS. JUST KEEP GOING. what both uncle aaron and peter b. tell miles in itsv and what miles repeats before absolutely obliterating miguel. everyone telling him how his story in supposed to go. as spiderman and as miles. him wanting to spread his wings. FREEDOM TO DO THINGS YOUR WAY. YOU GUYS I LOVE THIS MOVIE SM.

Okay, Dani, here are some random plot thoughts.
I am looking at this very clinically to spare myself some pain over the latest chapter.
1. Why do the Faeries stand by the PoD?
I did some deep dive into the canon lore I could find. Some theories are that they are fallen angels, cast out of heaven. Like Lucifer was. All of faeri having angelic blood within them. But Lilith and Sammael were also the ones responsible for the creation of warlocks, witches and faeries.
So, the Fair folk stand with the PoD because of heritage.
2. What's up with Lucifer?
Lucifer wants one thing - vengeance on Michael and God for being cast out of heaven. He can't go to heaven, and he doesn't have a physical body. So he has to bring heaven to earth.
Back in the days Michael didn't just defeat Lucifer, he also killed Sammael.
Lucifer wants powerful demonblood to be able to kill Michael.
3. How does Arthur fit into this?
The little first draft of Lucifer/Arthur you revealed got me thinking. What if Arthur and Lance aren't only shadowhunters and demon blooded. What if they somehow are connected to the Fair folk? What if Arthur and Lance are both descendants of Sammael/Lilith AND Lucifer. So, Arthur is just not the trigger of the prophecy but also the blood Lucifer needs for his weapon.
4. Why doesn't Lucifer take part in the destruction of Idris?
Since all Lucifer wants, is heaven, he needs to lure the angels out of hiding in there. What better way to do that than to have the angels little pet project Nephilim destroying themselves?
5. Arthur's visions
Arthur has seen Kincaid put a sword into Lance too many times to count. But Kincaid being a nightstorm, it got me thinking of his middle name Mikkel. Mikkel sounds like Michael. What if OtherMax brought back Michael's blood (which he gathered through the inevitable fight where Lucifer won).
So the reason Kincaid is having blood they can't really analyze is because it's pure angel blood from an archangel - Michael.
This could mean in the end that the vision Arthur's been seeing is Lucifer and Michael, who both have possessed the bodies of Lance and Kincaid?
6. OtherMax and canon events
OtherMax has spoken about them, and I think during this scene
Tumblr media
He spoke about the math he did to try change the events of Arthur's death.
Since he can't change that, he made the decision to try and stop whatever he could due to that. Hence, he helped the Knightstorms conceive. There has to be something in their bloodline that's important, since otherwise he wouldn't help these assholes.
I also still kind of wait for OtherMax to keep his words and hunt Kyle down for not loving and treating Kincaid the way he should...
OtherMax didn't know about Arcaid because in his timeline there was no Kincaid and Arthur died.
7. Another way the plot could go
Lance and Kincaid join forces and together they defeat Lucifer. Bring heaven and hell together. Fire and Ice. Through that, the burn their own bodies free of whatever angelic/demonic bond they might have.
8. Completely unanswerable questions.
What if Mikkel, who was a witch hunter, is the one who killed the faeri woman who declared the prophecy?
Lucifer said "I'm not actually here. Just like you're not." Is this some kind of astral projecting going on? Arthur can be simultaneously in two dimensions, and that's why he can't be healed in the wrong one.
Hermes is so adamant about keeping Lance safe (the entrance to Pandemonium closed) because he lives during the time of the Void so he knows and doesn't want that again, does he?
When everything is over, what if the angels are so grateful for restoring the earth free from the opening of Pandemoniun, they bring Arthur back?
------
Rafael, my precious, I think you've lost sight of your goal. You're too concerned about keeping your post as Consul to save it for Cami that you at times make the easy choice of hiding behind politics.
David, my love, this is in no way your fault.
Max, do not do something stupid. You are not responsible. All you've done is try and protect your family.
Lance, don't be like your Dad. Don't punish yourself and, therefore, the ones around you. I'm sure you'll find help in the one you hate the most.
--------
I might get back, but for now, I'm going to go and cry in a corner for the pain EVERY SINGLE ONE of my loves has to go through.
Babygirl, you can get clinical with me anytime 😎
Some comments on some of these (ignore the numbering)
Faeries indeed stand with PoD with heritage. While warlocks hate the nephilim's cruelty, the fey hate their hypocrisy. After all, the fey were created when angels slept with demons. So, the whole 'ew demon blood' approach is just pure arrogance and prejudice. To the fey, Lance is a shaodwhunter with demon blood. So, they seem him as one of them. Most importantly, even though it is not part of the prophecy, as Kieran mentioned before, the girl said who said the prophecy told the fey that Lance will put an end to faerie discrimination by nephilim. So, I think they believe that and took it pretty seriously.
The third point has me shooketh. Oof. Okay.
Lucifer wants Michael specifically, not all the angels. As we've seen, Michael doesn't care about Idris at all (he didn't help when Idris was taken over by Bell or at any point). So, destroying Idris isn't enough (or so Lucifer has learned).
About Other Max and his threat to Kyle. I know a lot of you thought it's because he cared for Kincaid (because of Arcaid) but it had nothing to do him (since Kincaid didn't exist in the Other timeline). It's mostly because Other Max felt guilty for changing a timeline like that and for giving Kyle a son because I think he knew Kyle would end up hurting this kid in some way or the other. BUT YES TO BEATING HIM UP.
I LOVE FIRE AND ICE AH.
I'll explain Arthur's powers later. But it is similar to astral projection. He is not physically in the dream world (other wise people will notice because he'll physically disappear every time he gets a vision)
YOUR GUESS ABOUT HERMES IS SPOT ON. He was indeed alive during the time of the Void (when the entrance was just open) and this is why nephilim were created (to fight demons and close the void). So, Hermes knows it's a clusterfuck if it happens again.
Oh, sweet slower. When have the angels ever been nice to anyone? They're selfish fucks.
Okay I love you very much and you're the best BYE ❤️

Oh no, she found tier-lists again | DRV3 version
❗WARNINGS❗: huge text, some negative opinions and spoilers !!!
Well…. Happy new year of Rabbit, ahah! 🐇🎄 I went missing again for a while ;) But it doesn’t matter, because despite all the difficulties and festive fuss, all these weeks I continued to play DRV3 – my progress reached the beginning of the 4th chapter since the last post... And oww, if you only knew how much I love a full-fledged playthrough, how many emotions have been received, how many thoughts..! It was to be expected that no Wiki, fan's articles freetime- or other events would replace this experience. And of course, the kind of information that I’ve been posting about myself a long time ago, and that (because of my love for such stuff) also included all the Danganronpa characters Tier Lists, became… a little bit irrelevant ^^” So now, in order to avoid any misunderstandings and to make my position clear to all passers-by, I decided to update the V3 related tier lists!
1st category, which has finally become more definite for me – female characters:
Tumblr media
What was my problem? Well, I treated all DRV3 girls (except Kirumi and Tsumugi) in a sort of same-neutral way with a slight negative shade, but now I know how I feel about them.
First of all, I want to clarify one thing: although in the orange group all the girls seem to be in the same position, in fact, for me personally, they are located in TOP3 xD In other words, after Kirumi, my favorite girl is Tenko. I like Tenko more than I like Miu. But also I like Miu more than Kaede.
Yes, perhaps someone would find such a clear distribution odd, if not wrong… But I didn't signed the orange tier that way for no reason. I have clear reasons to «underestimate and compare» each of them. Everyone has some shortcomings that repels me more or less, so… OK, just read it, I’ll go right-left:
Kaede Akamatsu. Ooh, I'm like walking on thin ice right now, judging her in some way, because I’ve seen from the very beginning HOW MUCH 90% of DRV3 fans love her and how upset they are that she never managed to become the main character…
But, you know, I’m not upset and I’m not afraid to talk about it. Her action in the first chapter only strengthened my belief that Shuichi is in the right place. Yeah, I understand why Kaede can be loved. I also like her energy, enthusiasm, companionship, liveliness, positivity, belief in the best, the ability to quickly get it together and not give up (in this regard, she's similar to Kaito, and Kaito is my favorite male character)… And I’ve often heard the phrase like «Yes, Kaede has her faults – and that’s fine, it makes her just like real people». But you know, it’s one thing to love a character DESPITE the fact that they does wrong things in the canon… When, in the case of Akamatsu, she seems to me to be loved for EXACTLY what she did. I mean- come ooon, by the murder attempt she betrayed not only Shuichi, not only all her friends (who prefer to see through rose-colored glasses), but herself first and foremost! By saying «I believe in you», she still succumbed to the selfish desire to "save everyone", although Shuichi's plan COULD'VE worked in theory – and without any victims that Monokuma needs so much for his killing game. Kaede is considered strong, but I don't see a drop of strength, not a bit of heroism in her wilfulness "for others", cause all this time she could confess, tell about her concerns to the same Shuichi, but chose to remain silent, fearing that «no one would want to be friends with a murderer» (selfishness again) and wishing at trial to figure out who's Mastermind in some unknown way. Overall, this foolish hasty action makes her interesting, right – everything would be okay if we stopped here… But I just can’t understand why she remains a heroine worthy of such blind compassion for so many people! 😩 She took on too much responsibility by agreeing to be the heart of the group, didn't handle with it, and on top of that, finally left it all on the shoulders of the survivors by making them promise her an unsustainable thing. For me, Kaede is a weak, insecure person who has pave the road to Hell with good intentions – and to some extent she admits it, saying repeatedly that she’s not really such a good motivator and that she’s highly susceptible to positive reactions from others.
Simply speaking, I like Kaede, but I can’t forgive her completely for the way she treated everyone (and Shuichi in particular) + I’m annoyed by the fact that the rest fandom are see her in the wrong light (we should take Kokichi’s assessment as an example – it has always been quite fair). It would be nice if Kaede could stay a survivor and go through a good arc of self-consciousness, admitting her mistakes and complexes. And also, to be honest, sometimes I’m both laughing and annoying by some of her carelessness / excessive curiosity, which she mostly exhibits in FTE's with her classmates (with Kibo, for example).
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
The next one is Miu. Weeell here, the reason that prevents me from fully loving her is obvious (perhaps) :’D But let’s start with her merits (in my view).
First, how Miu combines incredible self-confidence + rudeness with blatant cowardice when you just give her the slightest resistance – it's both amusing and interesting phenomenon. Seriously, she is a MASTER of giving funny (and often inappropriate) comments that will relieve any atmosphere! 😄 Plus I cannot fail to acknowledge how talented she is and how valuable her ingenuity is. And this intuitive ability to guess the right culprits based only on inner certainty… (if only she could find impenetrable arguments, she'd be truly golden-mind, ahah!)
However, it’s time to name the chief characteristic that pushes me away from her. That’s her vulgarity.
Don’t think anything wrong, these horny jokes and comments are mostly harmless. I wouldn’t mind saying something like that in a joke too xD But Miu's FTEs and Love Suit event… There’s a certain hyperbolic overkill here. DR scriptwriters EXTREMELY love to hyperbolize everything and in almost 100% of cases it leaves a negative impression. You just want to erase it from the memory forever. So, honestly, if it was a little less vulgar, I wouldn’t be so picky. For good, Miu could have opened up as a character even better (although I haven’t gotten to her death) and she, with that emotional jumps, needs psychotherapy (like almost any Danganronpa's child). I hope her true fans took care of that, yeap..~
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
And finally Tenko 💚 Honestly, I didn’t expect she’d end up being my second favorite girl :0 thought I’d be completely neutral… But she’s wonderful. Really. Sincere, devoted, heartfelt and generous, bold and cheerful – a real lifelike fountain of energy!
The shortcomings that were embedded in her just for meme (it’s pretty obvious if you look at most of her sprites) even all together are no match with the shortcomings I don’t like about Kaede and Miu. On the contrary, the fact that her misandry and excessive attachment to Himiko are imposed on the player – exactly allows me to ignore them against the backdrop of adequacy, which she demonstrates most often. Misandry generally seems to me insignificant, because at certain times she felt sympathy / respect for both Shuichi and Kaito (who is considered the most manly man). Yeah, she can be fiery, she can be weird and she even got really clingy to Himiko, regardless of her personal boundaries, but until her own death Tenko was in a continuous personal movement. She is another character who has earned a longer life, but was just unlucky… in every possible way.
Meanwhile, I’m getting to the yellow category!
It’s ironic that here I put the girls who remained among the few survivors, and they’re supposed to have plenty of time for me to like they, yeah..? ^^”
But no, I’m definitely gonna be a little biased. This is the case when the first impression turned out to be so negative that there is hardly exists anything to block it. At most, my attitude towards them will develop into completely neutral… And I’ll be brief, ok.
Himiko seemed to me either boring (due to her slowness, passivity, immobility and completely childish way of thinking) or completely useless (for exactly the same reasons) from the start. She is morally weak, easily susceptible to stress and manipulation. Yes, later she's rehabilitated; she grows over herself, becoming a little more active and emotional, but that only happens after Tenko’s death.
And Maki. Maki I like much more than Yumeno – she might well be in the same category as Tenko/Kaede/Miu. Most of the time, she means well. Her story is worthy of sympathy. But the character and personality… So prickly, cold and detached... Even after «Kaito’s therapy» reinforced by Shuichi’s help and belief in the second trial, she keeps. leaving. her crude. insensitive. comments. like she’s the only sane person who knows everything.
Yes, I understand that transformation/adaptation requires more time and it would be so much weirder, if she become a sweetie-deary in just a couple of days… But really, she can be neutral or at least a little empathic-respectful, while staying true to herself! I even read an article in which the author complained that Maki's crush on Kaito had ruined her personality. And even though I haven’t gotten to chapter five where their relationship (Maki's crush) blossoms, I can partially agree. In both her and Himiko's cases, characters development occurs mainly due to the influence/death of another character = a potential lover that doesn’t seem right to me. Anyway, if my first impression changes, I’ll let you know.
The last one – gray category (I remind you that it doesn't mean full-fledged hatred!)
Tsumugi and Angie… Okey, first of all, Angie went down a great deal in my eyes after chapter three. REALLY. A LOT.
Earlier, based only on fanworks, I thought - well, she's funny. Strange, silly, a little creepy, but in general, she seems amusing and pleasant, maybe she's even a sunshine..? But NO. Not for me, at least. I had no idea how manipulative, selfish, thoughtless and – I'm not afraid of that word – insensitive person she really is, that (as it turns out from her FTEs) just got used to getting away with anything, because she’s a preacher. Her way of recruiting a new student into the student council sect just underlines just how dangerous she could be – and those who think it’s cute actually fall into her trap :'^
But really, she either scared me or simply annoyed. Especially with that habit of changing decisions on the go, contradict any logic, and hiding her own desires/intentions behind the mask of the divine's dictates. I’ve seen theories that she’s actually brilliant, and all her decisions were to the benefit of her classmates, but I don’t really understand what makes its authors think like that. She always acted to please herself. And only.
My reaction to Tsumugi is less intense perhaps. First of all, I don’t like her because she’s a Mastermind, and I treat all Masterminds equally. Their philosophy and way of "having fun" are simply not close and incomprehensible to me. Second, she’s creepy too. I am repelled by her artificiality, her feigned "ordinariness" and affectedness with which she maintains this label in herself. I’m afraid to imagine what happens when her mask falls.
And now… Yes, it turns out that this post will almost half of my (I underline) personal opinion about female characters, ahah!
Tumblr media
But that’s because I love ALL the male characters in DRV3. No exceptions. Just the different shades of my love – and that’s what I reflect on the tier-list о/ Adoration, maternal love, tenderness, compassion, respect… I can’t even highlight what I don’t like in someone of them, 'cause all of them are dorks and the sweetest one!! No offence, the heart wants what it wants! 💞
Which means, finally, I can show you a huge (and a last, I promise, aphph) list of my feelings about this or that pairings!
Tumblr media
I don’t want to go into too much detail here and to be too much negative either, so I'll explain only those positions that are important or/and funny.
First of all, I’ve had a big change of heart about Angie, so it's about pairings with her too. I’ll start with the so-called «traffic light» that in my eyes almost broke into pieces. Seriously, they were always drawn by such faitful, sweet besties… I'm almost disappointed. What healthy friendship is possible in a Himiko/Angie relationship, when Yonaga only used Yumeno’s weaknesses without conscience, trolled her on her own show and imposed illusions?? What friendship is possible between Tenko/Angie, if Chabashira was starting to literally fear Yonaga’s permissiveness at the end + never adhered to her principles and ideas (and Angie was indifferent to her most of the time)??
Only Tenko/Himiko are stand out from this circle of bewilderment. I still haven’t figured it out, that's right. For now I’m inclined to think that it’s a bad idea – Tenko’s energy was not combined with Himiko’s impenetrable passivity from the very beginning, BUT! they’d have a chance if Tenko was still alive and Himiko kept trying to understand her (and Chabashira, in turn, would reduce the rush on her).
Next, Shinnaga, i.e. Angie/Korekiyo… *sighs* Honestly, despite their location in a more neutral category «I don’t know why most people think it’s a good idea» – I’m starting to treat them more like to NOTP. Yeah, I realize, a lot of people think they’re pretty similar. They are both creepy, to some extent connected with occultism, with culture; they have the opposite kinda sun/moon aesthetics and character's dynamic, but… Ship Korekiyo with a manipulative, spoiled girl, who is accustomed to sectarian power and that all her wishes are fulfilled without bickering..? Are you serious..? It’s literally the same as pushing him against his sister’s figure again 😣 Sorry, Shinnaga's fans, but this is a decision I can never understand .-.
And now to a more positive stuff! o/
(because by the time I explain why Saimatsu isn’t working either, Tumblr is clearly not ready yet ahah ;))
The platonic has changed a bit..~ I've basically added the category «good friends only» and quite seriously consider that many of these pairs of students are able to become friends. Especially I was pleased with some intersections between Gonta and Kiyo | Kibo and Kiyo, because Shinguji clearly lacks someone to share his interests (in addition to Rantaro and Shuichi).
But why Gonta and Kibo exactly? Well,
Korekiyo’s quite capable of teaching Gonta to be a gentleman from a cultural point of view
Gonta can always be interested in stories about bugs, and all Kiyo wants is a heareth disciple/listener
Kibo is interested in Japanese/Asian culture + all human aspects, in which Korekiyo is generally the main expert. [Yes, it may be difficult for Shinguji at first because of the slight robophobic prejudices, but he’ll get over it just by thinking about what a Kibo is really a delightful product of human labor!]
Of the girls, Kirumi and Tenko were included in the category of besties, as those whose personalities Kiyo most admired.
Kirumi herself finds Kiyo admirable (just read her thoughts about him on the Official Relationship Chart) + they are matched with temperament, love of similar aesthetics + she possesses such devoted, caring, "maternal" nature.
While with Tenko, as paradoxical as it is… Kiyo could discuss similar problems. This cloudy subject with inc*st and unhealthy attachment to a certain person… I feel like they could understand each other a little.
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
Kaede, for some reason, became the queen of the lesbian party for me XDD But really, she pays a lot of attention to girls at first acquaintance – she called Tenko cute, Tsumugi sexy (and get under her skirt), was kneeling before Miu (although they bickered each other a lot and measured by breast size lol). I just think it’s kinda fun!
✎﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏﹏
And almost all pairings with Kokichi turned out either self-destructive or destroying the world xD With Angie and Tsumugi in particular, they would have made the apocalypse; and Miu, Tenko, Maki, Kiyo and Rantaro, in my opinion, will gladly line up "ready to rip off Ouma’s head" line. That's just the way he is..:-) Hard to understand, units can handle it 😅
But that’s where I stop! As you may have noticed, I REALLY love DRV3 cast 😊😅 Tier-lists are just the beginning – next I would like to present my thoughts about Chapter 3 and Korekiyo’s role in it..;) That's the subject when I can’t be stopped... thanks for your attention and until next time, ehehe! ~
oh, and my askbox is always open!! see ya ✨

What are your theories on the Afton family? I share my main one
My main theory is that Vanessa might be Michael's daughter biologically because of the green eyes trait that female members of the Afton family have. I will be honest when I make theories about Video Game characters being biologically related to one and another I will use genetics to back up my theories
You have just unlocked the next Renegade AU Lore dump.
Renegade AU Lore Dump: The Afton Family.
TW: canon typical FNAF: Sister Location events (disembowelment, hanging as a murder method)
William Afton: William and Ina share a half sister (Will and Ina are not related, they just have someone who is related to each of them via one parent in common). Whilst he engages in some of the science side of Faz Ent, that is his wife's domain. He's more of the business guy; bring in the funding and laying out the field for research to take place. His stake in this whole deal is trying to find a secret to eternal life. It can be argued that he's found it seeing as he just doesn't die, but he wants what he inadvertently gave several of the Security Guards whom worked at Freddy's (several guards are possessed or died and were brought back OK). In chasing this immortal human form, he devises a plan to get in contact with his half sister, and ruin her half sister's descendants life in order to procure a suitable vessel for immortality and the supplies to make the process happen.
Adelaide Afton: Mrs Adelaide Afton, William's wife. Just as mad as her husband, Adelaide sees the pursuit of eternal life as the pursuit of eternal beauty. She has killed and tortured to further her research and has used many robotic forms and has possessed many humans to further her ends. Adelaide is the lead scientist at Fazbear Entertainment, and due to her love for her research, she was mostly absent at home. Died during her research into remnant during 1985 by getting hit with the scooper. Possessed Balora to continue her research (her will specifically stated instructions on how to ensure that she possessed Ballora). She is far better at pretending than her daughter, Elizabeth, to the point where her daughter didn't even know that the robot who kept on going back to the scooper was in fact Adelaide, invested in her experiments as per the course. Enard was a minor setback in her availability at her labs, but she was able to return soon enough. Over the course of her research from 1987 and beyond, she possessed many different robots; a Funtime Freddy in Circus Baby's Pizza World (got crushed in the caroucell), Molten Freddy, and later The Blob.
Elizabeth: Died to circus baby in 1983. After the Enard fiasco, Faz Ent found her and placed her in the Charlie replacement robot that Henry had left unfinished. After being defeated by Charlie's mutual destruction tactics (whom afterwards was taken to a non-Faz Ent lab and upgraded into an adult form), Faz Ent themselves picked up Elizabeth from the scene. Due to her damage, both physical and psychological, she resisted repairs and sorted her own, resulting in scrap baby. After 2004, she stuck around (and whilst mildly jealous was happy to see that 'Charlie 3' was still out there). Years later, she could just tell that remnant created from herself was being used, so went to investigate, and found that an adult woman was being frequently administered the substance against her will (apparent from said woman punching whomever shoved the needle into her in thier face). She possessed the woman to attempt to ease the hallucinations the woman was suffering, but remained dormant as to not interfere with her life. Possessing her did not help, but Liz found other ways to help; by giving this woman the ability to survive inhuman amounts of blood loss.
Michael: The older brother bully, yet it wasn't wholly his fault; he was raised by his father to be aggressive and ruthless. Much like how William instructed Vincent's parents to raise their children to be stone cold and emotionless, by the time he had his own, he opted to attempt to raise a more emotionally charged killer after seeing the flaws of that… previous experiment. Him shoving his brother into Fredbear's jaws was just a cog in a much greater machine. During October of 1987, he found a job opening at the rental and storage facility that housed the animatronics of Circus Baby's Pizza world. His colleagues were a duo named Morgan Smith and Oliver Rocha. Morgan always wore a mask covering the lower half of his face, fitted with a voice modulator no doubt as he was far too young for such a scratchy slimy voice; only someone else trying to mask their identity would pick such a voice. Oliver on the other hand fitted his mature voice quite well; this man hid nothing and had nothing to hide. He saw his colleagues hang in the galleries before getting disembowelled by the scooper; he was unaware that 'Morgan' and Oliver survived. In 1997, he found his way to Location: C. He took the night shift with Mike and took it as an opportunity to kidnap the other guard to try and replace him. It didn't work, and Mike escaped a few weeks after. Michael saw a connection between the the mute lady Morgan Schmidt (Mike's disguise that Mina helped him with to get Mike back home) and the technician he saw strung up in Ballora gallery, Morgan Smith. He didn't connect these dots until 1999 that both were Mike Schmidt. In 2004, when Faz Ent was trying to reboot itself with the entrepreneur kits, he found his way to Audery's second attempt and helped Henry burn the place down after she managed to get all of the animatronics in one place. Audery escaped. Michael's fate is much less clear.
Evan: Patient zero of the 1983-7 consciousness transfer experiments. The experiment was a success and he actually recovered from his coma, albeit not the same. With his consciousness having been tossed back and forth between a lobotomised body and a robot, several of his emotions were stunted to the point of no longer existing; fear being one of them. This lack of fear is how he was able to join the military as an adult. He died whilst deployed, but his ghost returned to America to keep an eye on his son and on the other Aftons. In 2021, he possessed Gregory as he could tell that the child was being used as a test subject from the remnant concentration in the kid's blood, but more notably, one of the kid's eyes.
Not related to the Aftons: This section covers characters who are not Aftons by any stretch, but at one point or another are mistaken for one or could be confused for one. Or are just unfortunately linked to the Aftons in other ways. Mostly for clearing up who are not Aftons though.
Mike Schmidt: Anyone who thinks Mike and Michael are the same are few and far between, and even then it's just people who met Michael once whilst he was trying to impersonate Mike (and failing at it, so confusion was easily cleaned up).
Sylvia Blake (Officer Vanessa): William Blake (Sylvia's father) and William Afton may have been buddies, but they were not the same man. Mr Blake was not an Afton by name or blood, but is good friends with Mr Afton.
Vanessa Diego (Vanny): Also not an Afton. Her gran's half sister (IE, Ina Diego's half sister) was a result of Vanessa's great grandmother getting with William's dad (so William has a half sister who is Ina's half sister), but none of Ina, Joy, nor Ness are related to the Aftons in any way other than "Ina's mum banged William's dad and the result is an arsonist who keeps trying to ruin our lives". William keeps trying to make her his replacement body, and Execs treat her like she's William 2.0. A very defiant William 2.0 who does not want to be William 2.0, but the Execs insist that Vanessa Diego is an Afton when she is not.
Non Faz-Ent scientists: Not all scientists are Faz Ent. Plenty of them are independent or work for other less shitty companies and don't transfer kids minds into robots for a living. It just happens that the visible majority of scientists who don't also have another job are of Faz Ent origin, and it's those guys that keep making the news with a new kind of murder machine, which paints the rest of the community in a bad light and rightfully pisses off all the non Faz-Ent scientists.

seriously though as a long time haver of excruciating headaches (I literally had one that lasted for five years where the only change was the location and type of pain), I used to get quite a few people who thought I didn’t like them because when you’re in agonising pain inside your skull you tend to be tense and squinting, your head tends to be scrunching pain, you try to keep your head from moving too much so your shoulders and back are stiff,; you’re not relaxed, and your eyes aren’t soft when you look at people.
if you think about how many shatterpoints were going on with Anakin at any one time, Anakin would basically be a walking migraine for Mace. If Mace sensed Anakin coming, say, Anakin was coming around the corner in the hall, Mace would be bracing for the onslaught of agony. his spine would stiffen, he might even close his eyes; he’s not ever going to be showing signs of being happy to see him.
With my experience with that kind of pain, I can see why even as a kid, even with Mace (who is canonically a compassionate man) trying to be soft and gentle, trying not to communicate too much of the effects Anakin has on him—because he would know it’s not Anakin’s fault—Anakin would be seeing the full body wince every time he was close to Mace, and think damn he must hate me, because he definitely doesn’t want to be around me and his body language is very negative every single time.
So anyway that’s my theory of these interactions.
and I mean to make it worse I can’t imagine that Obi-Wan, who was present for so many significant swerves and changes in events wouldn’t also have a huge amount of shatterpoints. so perhaps he made things a little worse by admitting that that’s just how Mace is, that’s it’s not personal. and Anakin being Anakin is like ‘yes it is. he hates us’.

I feel like that first scene Miguel has with Gwen is the perfect example of his story and his faults. He comes in, without invitation, thinking he is going to save the day and make a difference, and sort of is a little condescending to her just because he is older and bigger.
Fair to think that but because he is so busy trying to show how much more capable he is, he isn't paying attention to what's actually happening. She is actually aware of what's going on, and while she might appreciate help, she is just trying to figure out how to resolve the situation. She may not know everything and she may not be doing everything perfectly, but she is doing her best.
And so when he comes in all arrogant and whatnot, she's like, "Okay." And he gets his shit rocked. The same thing happens with Miles. And it really speaks to the generational divide. Even though I'm closer to Miguel's age, I feel like as people get older they are so insistent on having their way because of their experiences and are not open to considering that their way is only one way, not the way. He isn't totally wrong, but that doesn't mean the people younger than him have no idea what's going on either or that they may not have a point. I know you just reblogged a GIF set and weren't trying to start a whole discussion lol, but it really stuck with me that Miguel was like that (and I know part of it was the trauma).
It reminded me of how adults older than I am treat people, and still treat me, even though I'm very much an adult. And the other spider people supported him because they knew what he was talking about, like Peter, but rather than provide nuance to the situation, they just went along with what he said (again, probably because of his trauma).
I guess I'm protective of younger people because I know what it feels like to be dismissed, and I still go through it, and find it frustrating to deal with older people who do have experience, but are wrong a plenty of the time, are unaware of the reality of certain situations, and want ridicule you on top of that to simply show they are correct.
Rather than actively guide younger people, old heads wanna show off or tell you how things should be, and it's hard to listen to people who don't genuinely want to help you grow and improve things, but rather want you to fall in line and do everything how they think it best, even though they're not in the best position themselves.
hmm, I'm not sure it's arrogance per se, even though he certainly comes off a bit dismissive in that first scene with Gwen. It can easily read as cocky, but (if memory serves) I read it as much more out of concern. The thing is, if you are older and have more life experience, and also remember how grown you thought you were at that younger age, it's very easy to fall into that mindset of 'I need to protect these kids because they're too young to understand anything'. It's also very easy to become set in your worldview and opinions on how stuff works - and Miguel is clearly very emotionally invested in the canon events theory, even to the point where he dismisses the very idea that things can be different because he needs it to be this way because this way makes sense and gives him a clear purpose and clear rules according to which the world works. Idk, to me the most interesting part of his character in the movie is that he really cares so much and is trying so hard to save as many as possible and help as much as he can while operating under this assumption (a certainty to him) that total success (saving everyone not just from death and injury and destruction, but also heartbreak) is impossible. And to a certain degree he's right of course, you cannot avoid all harm and suffering, not if you're just one guy, and not even if you're a whole massive team of super spider-people. But he still tries to save the other Spideys from having to bear the responsibility. It was a canon event, there is nothing you could have done, it was always supposed to happen this way. And perhaps that's a very comforting thought to especially the older Spiderpeople like Peter B., who have already lost more in their longer lives. And then that's the main friction point with Miles, because he is the first one to actively and decisively challenge that notion that canon events (or fate, if you will) are both necessary and unchangeable. I think others may have had their doubts regarding the veracity of the canon events theory (Hobie certainly wasn't fully on board with the whole multiversal spider society idea in the first place), but I think to the best of their individual knowledge the 'evidence' supports the theory, because the big traumatic loss has happened to most (even Hobie) and there was nothing they could do to stop it. But this was, crucially I think, because they were usually alone when that took place (in the movie Miguel talks about the canon event in question being when a police captain close to them dies, but arguably the same probably applies to the Uncle Ben figure, commonly the catalyst for a Spider-man's becoming). But in the film when Pavitr's police captain is supposed to bite the dust he is saved because there were like four of them who could work together.
But crucially it isn't until Miles refuses to just accept that his father has to die that the real break occurs. The situation before? Well they didn't know. Cpt. Singh could still bite the dust another time & way. The timeline isn't so much endangered as delayed, if you want to be callous about it. But Miles just flat out refuses to even entertain the idea, cuz that's his dad and he's a Spider-Man and he's a hero, right? He has to try to save him. Interestingly he doesn't question that the fatal event is going to happen, or even when, he just thinks he can change the outcome if he tries hard enough. There's something very much of the ancient greek myths about this. In trying to prevent the prophecy from coming true you actually end up doing everything to ensure that it does. So basically Miguel believes in the prophecy completely, while Miles believes he can change the prophecy, but neither (at least at this point) questions the prophecy as such. Very interesting stuff.

Mario’s Lil Sis has 120+ hits and 20+ kudos, so I’d like to give you a bit more lore behind the series or AU it belongs to. These are more random ramblings so I’ll put a READ MORE here.
Yes, Lucia is part of the new and refurbished Mario Magus AU. It’s a series more magic-oriented, kinda like the Owl House in a sense. It has a real world/“Mario” world separation like the movie and old tv shows but it’s easier to go back and forth.
In the AU, Mario and Lucia are real people and have a licensing deal with Nintendo to have “mascots” retelling their stories for younger audiences. It helps me have an excuse to cherry pick what is and isn’t canon when talking about the media; it’s like the “Mario is a stage play” theory but more comfortable for me.
Things like Lucia being brainwashed by Natasha and Dimentio are canon, Mr. L, a lot of M&L and Paper Mario content up to Sticker Star are canon. Things like the Blorbs and baby characters are vastly censored incidents and story beats by Nintendo to make it more “child friendly” or more entertaining.
Lucia has Chaos Heart scars along her chest that basically looks like if you told a drunk guy to give you a heart tattoo. She doesn’t like to talk about it at all, but she’ll be forced to confront it mentally and physically later on…
Bowser Jr is real, but at least 95% of Sunshine isn’t canon because he was just a newborn when it came out. IRL Junior is vastly different than game Junior, and the Koopalings are adopted IRL while they’re just sidekicks in the game.
Bowser is not only ftm, but not as big of a villain as the games make him out to be. It was just like the inciting incident when Mario and Lucia first came to the Mushroom Kingdom, some battles here and there until the events that led to the Superstar Saga game came to be. (Which in universe is right before Bowser has Junior)
Bowser, not only with a new baby but after teaming up with his enemy, brainwashed, amnesia’d and possessed by “Cackletta”, he has a change of heart and actually reaches out to Mario during a breakdown after many sleepless nights dealing with a newborn Junior. I might make a fic out of this but in universe this was where the animosity between Mario and Bowser ended, leading to a peace treaty and later ally-ship between him and Peach’s kingdoms. The whole rivalry initially broke out because their parents basically killed each other in a war during their babyhood and they carried it with them cuz it’s not easy to forget that kind of thing, but they at least know that it was their parents rather than each others faults.
Lucia, Peasley and Daisy are in a poly relationship. What started out as jealous feelings of each other quickly became “oh they’re actually hot tho”. Lucia developed feelings first, because she and pretty much her entire family are to type to fall for people VERY FAST. (And her type is strong men and women) Peasley second because the moment he got knocked out outta his Dragohoho form and woke up in Lucia’s arms? Yeah no he fell for her and later Daisy in a similar fashion. Daisy? What started out as a silent rivalry turned into her actually finding him attractive and then collective panic until the idea of polyamory came up. I call them the Flower Throuple.
Polterpup is named Pesto and he’s the ghost of Lucia’s childhood puppy who died after being hit by a car. Because his death was so sudden he harbors no I’ll will and only just wants to continue the game of fetch that the car so rudely interrupted. Lucia only finds this out much later after she meets him and the obvious happens. She cries and holds him because he waited so long to find her again. Because he’s happiest with her, the idea of “passing on” isn’t a thing because all he wants is to be with her, essentially making him immortal until Lucia’s luck runs out.
There are certain creatures called Mimicks, basically imperfect copies of people made out of pure magic, like the fake Bowsers or Bowser Jr’s Mario disguise. They either have to possess other beings or steal their original’s soul, but rare moments they can be their own thing, but it doesn’t last for long before they need to find a host or another body, lest they want to die.
Okay that’s all I have rn. I’m glad you like my Lucia fic so much, I had no idea it would blow up like it did and it means a lot to me. Expect more fics in the near future; now with AO3 I more motivation and more flexibility. Make sure to check out my other works if you liked my Lucia fic, too!
