It is based on one of my favorite scenes that I wrote in my fanfic 'Our Hands Are Tied' (specifically chapter 11) and I just LOVE how this turned out. 🥰

When High King Peter speaks, Narnia listens. When he enters a room, all those within it get down on their knees, to show their respect for his sacrifice. He is only now beginning to worry that his subjects are frightened of him. Never would he intend for such a thing. Never would he harm an innocent, or an unarmed, person. He is not a cruel man, and he never could be.

Two years after stripping his siblings of his titles, Peter is beginning to struggle with his public image. He rules side-by-side with his husband, the King Consort Caspian of Telmar, and his people are now beginning to spread rumours that High King Peter has grown cruel since the marriage—that he punishes anybody who so much as hurts his husband's feelings.

These rumours aren't true, and Peter doesn't know where they come from. Peter suspects King Miraz, Caspian’s uncle, who still reigns over Telmar—but Caspian suspects somebody else entirely, and knows that these suspicions will completely crush Peter.

A new fanfic I'm currently writing, although whether I'll post it or not I don’t know, I'm just having fun with it. I love Peter and he is a good person in this fic but I want to explore his occasional selfishness, but more than that, I've always wanted to explore the idea of Edmund taking a darker turn as a character (in this case with good reason, and with help from his sisters).

I plan to really explore the brotherly relationship between Peter and Edmund, and of course Peter/Caspian is very central—but Caspian/Edmund is also involved in this fic, although the feelings are a bit one-sided (rn only in the past, but it will come up again when they see each other). I'm not sure if maybe their relationship will be less one-sided later in the fic but their relationship is very important to the plot.

Anyway I'll probably post more stuff about this fic with the tag "down the high king peter", and if I post the actual fic it'll be on AO3 and I'll post about that on here when it happens as well <3

Caspian and co were like "gosh this duel idea is great and all, but how the heck are we gonna get Miraz, whos army is like three times bigger, to agree to it??"

And the Pevensies were all like: "No yeah we'll just send this little shit right here, he can provoke anyone into doing anything, trust us"

While Edmund so-you-bravely-refuse-to-fight-a-swordsman-half-your-age Pevensie just raised an eyebrow, grinning.

Can we talk about how chaotic Narnian battles would feel?? Especially in Prince Caspian. Like, imagine you’re a little Telmarine soldier waiting for the catapults to go and you’ve got all your regiments in nice orderly rows and these two 16 year olds suddenly yell “charge” and the ground opens up beneath you, a mouse with a sword the size of a large pencil takes out your bestie, a griffin drops a dwarf 5 ft away from you and he comes up swinging. As you try to rationalize this, you’re stabbed by a twelve year old with a British accent. Finally, a really freaking big lion shows up, roars, and your entire army collectively pees their pants. At one point in the movie (yes I know the movies aren’t quite the same as the book but they’re still good) Peter says like “we have the element of surprise” like dude, you have drafted the trees I’m pretty sure everyone’s gonna be surprised no matter what.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Social Medias

I've recently been writing an AU of The Chronicles of Narnia with @thedivinemischievousspark, based on the idea that the Pevensies live in the modern world rather than during the war! The AU is basically Prince Caspian being sent to their world years after the events of the second movie (ignoring the third one because it doesn't work as well with the plot) when all the Pevensies are adults and have given up on the idea of ever returning to Narnia again. It's Peter x Caspian (and also Susan x Caspian at the beginning), but right now none of it has been posted, not sure whether it'll be posted yet (if it is it'll be on AO3) but I wanted to share their social medias! Here they are below:

Susan

♡ Job: Beauty Specalist ♡

♡ Lives: Alone in a London flat ♡

♡ Doesn't love doing social media, only has it out of social pressure, posts mainly shots of her clothes but occasionally something related to what she's doing. She shares all her Instagram posts to Facebook. Is single, having never properly gotten over Caspian, and doesn’t have many friends. She wishes to move on from her past in Narnia ♡

Lucy

♤ Job: Studying Folklore at uni ♤

♤ Lives: With her brothers in a terraced house ♤

♤ Only recently bothered getting Instagram but she enjoys it, although she also uses TikTok an awful lot ajd has Snapchat. She always makes appreciation posts about her siblings, likes posting little quotes, and styling pretty pictures to make her life seem magical, like it was in Narnia ♤

Peter

◇ Job: Works multiple barmen jobs ◇

◇ Lives: In a terraced house with siblings ◇

◇ Loves Instagram, finds it a fun way to commemorate his life. Posts videos/pictures of his family all the time, baking and working out, does photography to post. He glamourises his life using social media, but in reality is struggling trying to support Lucy and Edmund, and misses being king. He’s been fired a few times for being impatient with demanding customers. Has lots of friends but doesn’t get too much time to see them ◇

Edmund

♧ Job: Studying International Relations at Uni, is a student ambassador to help make money ♧

♧ Lives: In a terraced house with siblings ♧

♧ Doesn't use Instagram much, but lurks on it a lot. Likes Instagram shorts and YouTube shorts but has never tried TikTok and is never planning to. Sometimes he posts YouTube shorts of his siblings, but only rarely and isn't well-known ♧

Caspian

☆ Job: Unemployed (reigning king of Narnia) ☆

☆ Lives: In between Susan’s and the other's ☆

☆ Has been taught how to use Instagram by Lucy, and enjoys it. Is on public and has gained followers due to posting a lot of informative and well-tagged posts about sailing and astronomy. Has a lot of people thirst following him. Also has a TikTok account but he doesn’t understand how it works. Is enjoying learning more about London, but is desperate to one day go back to Narnia. He has also discovered a love for alcoholic cocktails ☆

The Pevensies are the most perfect siblings representation in media. They argue with each other, they throw disgust when they have to be around each other, they bicker like actually siblings. Peter's little "I had it sorted" is such a sibling thing cause he knows he was saved but he'd rather die than admit it was his sibling who did it. And then when things actually get tough, they don't suddenly start being chummy, they still act like siblings, they still bicker and shove each other, but now they're doing it for a common goal, they will not falter together, but they're going to arguing with each other the whole battle. Too many movies show siblings miraculously changing their attitudes in the final battle as if they'd never fought ever, but not Narnia. They are siblings until the very end of the movie.

one of my absolute favorite details in the "prince caspian" movie is the moment where caspian shows the siblings the stone table, and everything is lit up. lucy is the only one of her siblings to approach the stone table, and the other three do not follow until she's right up against it. she's the only sibling that we see who actually sits on the table in the following war council scene. she's almost laying down on the table, completely content to sit there, but we never see her siblings sitting on the table or on the steps of the table. in the war council scene, susan and edmund are sitting on the columns on either side of the table while peter is talking. (i will very much be making a separate post about that one scene bc there is SO much there that i need to talk about)

the only time we see one of the siblings sitting at the table with lucy is after the attempted resurrection of the white witch, and peter sits with lucy. however, he only does so after she pulls him over.

it's one of my favorite details both in the books and in the movies, that lucy's siblings never once are shown to be jealous or angry at her closeness with aslan. there's an understanding there, that, while they're all aslan's chosen and the kings and queens of the prophecy, lucy is aslan's dear one. with the table, there's an immediate, unspoken thing amongst the siblings that if any of them have the right to sit on the table, it's lucy

At first, his kisses are very careful and caring. Despite the fact that Peter is very passionate, he primarily thinks about your comfort. As soon as he feels that you reciprocate, he will definitely deepen the kiss and show how much he is in love with you. His kisses always cloud your mind, they make you dizzy. Peter prefers to kiss you when you're alone so that no one bothers you.

Edmund

His kisses are very domineering. He likes to leave quick kisses on your lips. Watching your embarrassed reaction, he always grins. Edmund always holds you very tightly and hugs you to him. He looks down at you and then kisses you. He also likes naughty kisses, when he can run his tongue over your lips or leave a quick peck on your nose after a passionate kiss. Edmund likes to kiss you in front of everyone, showing that he is the only one here who can make you feel butterflies in your stomach.

Caspian

His kisses are very gentle and sometimes uncertain. There is love and care in his every movement. Your eyes meet, he puts his arm around your waist and slowly approaches you for a kiss. You feel his smile on your lips, and you smile involuntarily. Caspian likes to hold your hands and kiss you on the forehead. It's like a way for him to show you that he's ready to protect you from everything.
