Thoughts of Hometown
Mucha's initial 4★ story (3/3) ( 1 - 2 - 3 )
Location: park (morning) | Characters: Mucha, Aoi/MC
Tumblr media
Aoi: It's so pleasant…! The weather is so nice.
Mucha: It is. Sometimes it is nice to spend time in a place like this.
Aoi: Indeed. I haven't had a chance to sit on a park bench and dawdle lately.
Mucha: It is so easy to forget to take a day off and inadvertently end up working.
Aoi: Hahaha…
Mucha: I have prepared a very special treat for you today, miss deputy director.
Tumblr media
Mucha: … Here.
Aoi: This is…?
Mucha: It is a baked good called trdelník². Please try it.
Aoi: Wow… Thank you very much! I'll eat it immediately.
… Mmh, it's delicious! The surface is crunchy, but the inside is chewy…! It tastes rustic and somewhat comforting. I've never had anything like this before…!
Mucha: I am glad you like it. Actually, this is a pastry from my hometown. I love it too and used to eat it all the time when I was back home.
Aoi: ! I didn't know that! I wondered why I had never seen it before.
Mucha: Because it is not sold in Palette City. I prepared this for you to enjoy.
Aoi: Ah… Sorry to bother you. Thank you for taking such good care of me…
Mucha: No, do not worry about it. Because this is my own selfishness.
Aoi: Huh…?
Mucha: I took you out to the park and gave you sweets because I wanted to. However, if you are so pleased with my work, then I will be selfish.
Aoi: (I'm sure he's just saying that so I don't feel bad… Mucha-san has always been a great help to me. I wish I could do something for him. But I hardly know anything about him…)
.... This isn't something you can call selfish.
Mucha: Is it?
Aoi: I don't know much about you, Mucha-san. Please tell me. What do you wish for? What do you want me to do for you? It's okay to be more selfish.
Mucha: … Really?
Aoi: Yes. Anything you want!
Mucha: I see… Then–
Aoi: Uh…!?
(Mucha-san's head is on my shoulder…!)
U-Uhm… Mucha-san, what are you…?
Mucha: It is a beautiful day and I thought I would try to get some sleep. Thank you for your shoulder.
... I was allowed to be selfish, am I right?
Aoi: That's true, but…
Mucha: You should not be too quick to speak your mind, okay? I may have been too late in advising you.
Aoi: …!
Mucha-san, you're really mean, aren't you?
Mucha: Fufufu, you think so?
Aoi: (Mucha-san… Looks like he's having too much fun…!)
(I didn't think he would go this far... But now that I've said it, I can't refuse…)
Mucha: … I'm always just living the way I want to live.
Aoi: ? Is that so…?
Mucha: Yes, I also prepared sweets from my hometown. I was contradicting myself with my words and actions…
Aoi: Speaking of which… The other day you said you didn't want to tell anyone about your hometown.
Mucha: Yes... But I wanted to tell you a little bit about it. It was a roundabout way of doing it.
Aoi: I’m happy. I feel like I got to know you a little better, Mucha-san.
Mucha: …
Aoi: I'd really like to know more, though. So that I may be able to help you.
Mucha: … Please forgive me.
Aoi: No. I don't mind. If you feel like talking, then talk. About your hometown. And yourself.
Mucha: ... As I thought, being by your side makes my heart waver.
Aoi: Huh…?
Mucha: …
Aoi: Mucha-san?
(... Did he fall asleep? I'm curious, but I'd feel bad if I woke him up.)
(He must be tired from always doing so many different jobs. He's always totally seamless, maybe he's just uptight.)
Mucha-san... Have a good rest.
Mucha: … Thank you very much.
Aoi: … Uh? Y-You're awake!?
Mucha: I am. In the first place, I was not sleepy at all.
Aoi: Mucha-san…! So you were just pretending!
Mucha: Fufu, I am sorry. I was wondering what your reaction would have been.
... I think it reminded me a little bit of the peace of home. It was thanks to you.
Aoi: That must have been nice…
Mucha: Well, there is still some trdelník left. While eating this, please tell me a lot about your hometown.
Home is where the heart heals. Let's take a short rest together with our hometowns in mind.
Aoi: Well then. My hometown is–
²: Trdelník is a kind of spit cake. It is made from rolled dough that is wrapped around a stick, then grilled and topped with sugar and walnut mix. [Source: Wikipedia] It's a Czech sweet, so it's a sweet from Mucha's hometown. And fun fact, it's also Mucha's favourite food!

sharing a bed with the star wars characters
prequels:
anakin skywalker:
he’d definitely be kinda an ass about it at first
partly because he doesn’t want to force you to deal with his terrible sleeping habits
he’d try and find other places to sleep but to no avail
he ends up finding your presence sort of calming
neither of you really felt the need to talk, it was a calming silence looming over the room
every once in a while he’d look over to check if you fell asleep and once he saw how peaceful you looked, he’d gradually fall asleep himself.
additional headcanon: this motherfucker most definitely moves around in his sleep- you’ll wake up and find him in some weird lil contortion that his body should not be able to do
padmé amidala:
she probably wouldnt care that much, if at all
she might be used to larger living quarters, but it doesn’t bother her
after she made sure you were comfortable she’d probably claim her side
there is one singular pillow between you two just in case
you’d converse until the former senator’s replies were replaced with soft snores
she sleeps with her hands neatly folded together on her stomach
obi-wan kenobi:
the most polite sleep buddy you can dream of
he’d offer to sleep on the ground, like the gentleman he is
if you weren’t tired, he’d make you both tea as you both talked until the mood softened
his #1 priority is your comfort
the pillow ratio is so uneven but he’s perfectly content with it
safety might also be tied for #1
he wouldn’t fall asleep until you did
he’d also wake up super early to get you both caf so you could have another chat session
original trilogy:
leia organa
with leia, it’d be similar to padme where the girl doesn’t really give a shit.
its different than whats she used to, but she could definitely use the comfort
before you both fall asleep you have a nice comforting conversation, or a vent session depending on how you’re feeling
shes a very soothing presence and you both end up falling asleep relatively early.
she’ll wake you very gently in order to let you get ready
its just a very relaxing, very tranquil night
additional headcanon: she’s so worried that she’ll accidentally hit you that she puts 3 pillows in between you too but ends up moving them because shes also worried that you aren’t comfortable.
han solo:
after his initial frustration at the situation, he’d start making sly sexual jokes (because he’s han)
“just keep your hands to yourself over there, pal”
depending on how exhausted he was, he might get bored
he’d take the outward facing side of the bed “for safety”
he’d probably get worried about chewy at some point and go to check on him
this man sleeptalks
it’s the softest his voice has ever been as he mutters incoherent little sentences
you tell leia about it the next morning
luke skywalker:
he probably doesn’t even notice that you have to share a bed
he’d either be really energetic or terribly exhausted. no in-between
hes probably the type of person who gets a burst of energy whenever he’s around another person
if he’s tired he’d fall asleep almost comically fast.
you’d turn the light off to say goodnight and he’d already be passed out
otherwise, you’d probably swap stories until one of you finally grows weary
if you started to ignore him in order to allow yourself to calm down, he’d look over your shoulder as you read or do basically in order to get attention
he’d also be protective of you, making sure that the door was shut at least 3 times before getting comfortable
you’d both sleep far past the time you were supposed to so someone would have to barge in to wake you
sequels:
poe dameron:
i don’t think poe would care at all
the only topic of interest was where BB8 would sleep
because the charging pod would only fit in the opposite corner of the room, poe was trying to convince you to let BB8 sleep on the bed as well
you would’ve caved if not for the fact that the bed probably wouldn’t fit the two of you, let alone a droid
you ended up moving the bed closer to the corner so you’d be near BB8
he talked while he got ready to sleep and you learned a lot about him, his mother, and his night time routine
he had an oddly soothing voice so you didn’t mind at all
also he had a strangely thorough nightly routine for someone in the resistance
finn:
finn would be so worried that you’d be uncomfortable that while you were in the bathroom he set up on the floor
after about 10 minutes of him complaining that the floor was too hard (but insisting that he was definitely fine) you finally coerced him to sleep on the bed
his body was basically falling off the bed so you added a few pillows to make a section for each of you
you both talked for a while and you could see him growing more relaxed
he fell asleep while you were talking about your past family vacations
rey skywalker:
like luke, rey would probably be too exhausted to care all that much
she’d enjoy the comfort of someone else but would also keep her blaster near by
since she travels a lot, it wouldn’t take long for her to get comfortable
but she does leave literally every choice up to you
she doesn’t care what side of the bed she sleeps on, which pillow she gets e.t.c
she probably would’ve slept on the floor if you didn’t make a decision fast enough
by the time you got back from getting ready, she’d be dead asleep, drooling on the pillow

Crazy
pairing: Luke Skywalker x reader
summary: Y/N goes a little crazy when Luke doesn't return from his patrol, and she definitely outs their secret relationship.
word count: 3624
warnings: cannon typical injury
masterlist
"Do you have to go?" Y/N asked, grabbing Luke's arm before he slipped out of the bed.
"If I don't go now, people will get suspicious and come looking for me." Luke kissed her neck, and she rolled onto her back.
"I'm sorry you're so popular, but that's not my fault." Y/N said, eyes still closed and still hanging onto him.
"Y/N," Luke whined, falling back into bed with her as she pulled at him.
"I think you're sick today." Y/N said, placing her arms around him and making him as close as he could be to her.
"There will still be people looking for me. I have to go." Luke kissed her head, untangling himself from her. "You should probably get up too, Y/N." Luke began putting on the extensive layers he had to have on in order to not freeze on this ice planet.
"I don't want to." She mumbled, and he rolled his eyes fondly at her.
"Come on." Luke pulled her up, and she finally opened her eyes. Luke had two layers out of the five he normally put on for missions, and Y/N pouted.
"Why did you put your clothes on?" She asked, and Luke let out a small laugh.
"Because it's cold. You need to put your clothes on too." Luke grabbed Y/N's long sleeved under shirt, and she lifted her arms up so he could put it over her. "Are you ready to go to work today?" Luke asked, getting dressed himself after helping Y/N.
"No." She muttered, wiping her eyes. "Can you do my hair?" Y/N asked, and Luke smiled at her.
"I can't do it as well as Leia does, Y/N. You know that." Luke said, but he still moved behind Y/N and began braiding her hair in two sections. "Here's your hat, love." Luke put the hat on Y/N, and she smiled at him.
"Be careful." She said, leaning on her tip toes to kiss him. He kissed back, lips warm against her cold body.
"I'm always careful." He smirked as they parted.
"Keep talking like that and you'll sound like Han." Y/N smirked, and Luke huffed out a breath. "I'm serious, Luke. I don't know what I'd do without you." She placed her hands on his chest, wishing he would be closer to her than the millions of layers between them to keep them warm.
"I know. You'd go crazier than you already are, Y/N." Luke smiled, hands rubbing his hands up and down her hips.
"Stop it!" Y/N whined, hitting his chest.
"I love you." Luke said, bringing her close.
"I thought you had to leave." Y/N rested her head on his chest.
"I do." He kissed her forehead.
"I love you too." Y/N kissed Luke one more time before the separated and made their way to their respective jobs.
~
"Han? Where's Luke?" Y/N asked as soon as Han walked into the control room. She knew Luke hadn't checked in yet, and he never forgets.
"He's checking out a meteorite that hit near him." Han answered.
"Alone?"
"With all the meteor activity in this system, it's going to be difficult to spot approaching ships." Y/N's question was disregarded, and she felt her heart race. Something wasn't right.
"General, I got to leave. I can't stay anymore." Han said, and Y/N looked over at Leia. She knew the princess had feelings for the captain, even if she would never admit it out loud.
"What?" Leia turned to see Y/N staring at her.
"Tell him how you feel, Leia! You don't really want him to leave, do you?" Y/N asked, and Liea turned to look at Han again, who was still talking to the General.
"When are you going to tell Luke how you feel, Y/N?" Leia whispered, and Y/N rolled her eyes. Luke and her were still new at the whole love thing, so no one knew about what happened behind closed doors.
"Well, Your Highness, guess this is it." Han said, and Y/N and Leia turned to see Han now behind them.
"That's right." Leia nodded.
"We hate to see you go, Han." Y/N said, and Han shoved her slightly.
"Don't tell me things you don't mean." He smirked, before looking at Leia. "Well, don't get all mushy on me, Princess. So long." And then Han was out the door. Leia and Y/N shared a look before Liea was after him, leaving Y/N to wonder where Luke was.
~
"Han!" Y/N yelled, making the man stand up and move from under his ship.
"What now?" He asked, and Y/N shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts.
"Where's Luke?" She asked, and Han's face immediately changed to concern.
"What do you mean?"
"He hasn't come back yet. Leia and I don't know where he is, and the temperature is starting to drop and-"
"Hold on, honey. I don't know where he is." Han informed her.
"Nobody knows where he is." C-3PO informed them, and Y/N and Han turned to see the gold machine standing beside them.
"Nobody?" Y/N muttered.
"What do you mean, nobody knows?" Han asked, and Y/N's heart picked up its pace as if she was sprinting. "Deck Officer!" Han was yelling before 3PO could speak.
"Excuse me, sir, might I-"
"Shut it, 3PO." Y/N mumbled, following Han.
"Do you know where Commander Skywalker is?" Han asked.
"I haven't seen him." Y/N shut her eyes as the man spoke, trying to think of the best case scenario as stomach churned.
"Is it possible he came in through the south entrance?" Y/N asked, eyes still closed.
"Yes."
"It's possible? Why don't you go find out? It's getting dark out there." Han commanded.
"Yes, sir." The man responded, and it was quiet until Y/N felt hands on her shoulders.
"Y/N?" Han's voice cut through her thoughts, and she opened her eyes. "Are you alright? You're breathing really heavily." Han said, and Y/N nodded, although her breath intake increased.
"Hey, calm down. You're going to make yourself pass out." Han put a gloved hand on her face, and Y/N didn't react. "You probably need some sleep, I'm guessing. Are you tired?" Han had no idea what he was doing, but Luke's best friend was freaking out and normally he dealt with this sort of stuff.
"We need to find Luke." Y/N muttered, suddenly grabbing a helmet and scarf. She was putting them on, glassy look in her eyes.
"You need to stay here, Y/N." Han said, hands still on her shoulders. "Are you okay? You're shaking." Han was staring at Y/N, concerned. She was blinking rapidly and shaking behind the eye shield.
"I'm just cold. Come on, we need to find Luke." Y/N said, putting the helmet on.
"No, I'm going to find Luke. You're going to stay here." Han barely gave her time to finish her sentence. She began to walk away and he grabbed her, pulling her back. "Y/N, seriously. You're not going."
"Let go of me, Han, or I swear to-
"Stop fighting! You're not going!" Han yelled, and Y/N struggled in his arms weakly.
"I have to go! I have to help him!" Y/N yelled, but Han held onto her tightly.
"You can help him by staying here and working in the command center." He then moved to hug her, and she started to cry in his arms.
"Save him, please." She cried to him, and Han felt his heart break. Although Luke and Y/N never said anything about their relationship, Han knew there was something going on.
"I will. I promise."
~
"Sir, all the patrols are in." Y/N and Leia turned to hear the conversation between the two men.
"Still no-" Y/N turned her head as the man cut himself off, the pair obviously not wanting to say more because Leia and herself were there. "Still no contact from Skywalker or Solo." The man said quieter, and Leia grabbed Y/N's arm.
"Mistress Leia, Mistress Y/N, R2 says he's been quite unable to pick up any signals, although he does admit that his own range is far too weak to abandon all hope." 3PO informed them, and Y/N took a deep breath, wishing her emotions away.
"Your highness, there's nothing more we can do tonight." One of the men said to Leia, and Y/N turned her back to them, trying to clear her mind. It was going to be very cold at night, and Y/N knew it would be hard to survive.
"The shield doors must be closed."
"What?" Y/N cried out, spinning to face them.
"Y/N, we can't do anything until morning." Leia said, pain in her voice.
"They're going to freeze out there!" Y/N cried, and she heard Chewy let out a growl.
"Close the doors." Leia said, and Y/N felt her world collapse in on her, head spinning.
"He's going to die." Y/N mumbled, tears spilling out of her eyes. She looked to Leia, who had a sad frown on her face.
"We don't know that. Han and Luke are strong, Y/N, they can do this." Leia tried to comfort her, but Y/N just shook her head as more tears went tumbling down her cheeks. Just as she was about to fall, to let her body go numb, Chewy grabbed onto her, turning her to him and wrapping his long arms around her as she cried into his fur.
"R2 says the chances of survival are 725 to one." 3PO said, and then the loud clash of the door closing sounded, causing Y/N to cry out. 3PO kept talking, but Y/N drowned him out, sobbing into Chewbacca.
"I'm sure Luke and Han will be back in the morning." Leia's hand was at her back, and Y/N turned her face to see the princess, still holding tight to Chewy.
~
She slept the worst she has ever slept in her entire life, tossing and turning, her eyes not wanting to stay closed. Still, when she woke up, she was expecting to be in Luke's arms. Instead, she woke up next to a furball, and the pain of yesterday's events came crashing down. Y/N picked herself up, wiping a hand over her face. Her head was spinning, and her chest was hurting from her heart beating out of her chest for so long. She came out of the Millennium Falcon, which she barely remembers falling stumbling in and falling asleep, to see Leia pacing in the hanger.
"Did you even sleep?" Y/N asked, pulling her sleeves down.
"Did you?" Leia looked to Y/N, seeing the bags under her eyes, and then back to the open door. "They sent the rescue team out a little while ago. I'm waiting for word that they found them." Leia said over the irrelevant chatter of the rescue team.
"Hopefully they find something more than just frozen bodies." Y/N said, and Leia frowned at her.
"Have hope, Y/N. I'm sure they'll be okay." Leia put a hand on her shoulder, and Y/N smiled at her.
"Echo Base, this is Rouge Two. I've found them. Repeat, I've found them." Came through the comm, and Y/N and Leia both let out a sigh of relief, hugging each other. Y/N almost felt herself fall as her knees buckled, but Leia righted her.
Y/N and Leia awaited the plane that would be carrying Han and Luke, and Y/N rushed over to it as soon as they landed. Luke was being pushed on a medic carrier, and Y/N followed with it. He was pale, a black eye and cuts adorning his face. Y/N pushed the hair out of his face, feeling his cold skin.
"We need to get him into a bacta tank." Someone said, and Y/N looked up.
"Will he be okay?" Y/N asked, and someone in front of her stopped, making her stop. Luke kept going, and Y/N tried to get around the medic.
"He'll be fine, Ma'am. He will need to spend at least ten hours in the bacta tank, which is a hard sight to see. Are you sure you want to stay with him?" The man asked, and Y/N furrowed her brows in anger.
"Get out of my way." She said, pushing past him and running to keep up with Luke. She watched as he was hooked up to a breathing tube, and then stripped down. The droids slipped a machine over his arms before lifting him into the tank. Y/N made her way forwards toward the tank, placing her hands on the glass as she looked at Luke. He was completely unconscious, and every so often a droid attached to the tank would shock him, causing his back to arch and his body to tense.
Y/N stayed at the tank for twelve hours, sitting next to and leaning on it while watching Luke. She needed to make sure he was okay.
"You should get some sleep. He'll be pulled out soon." Han said, putting a hand on Y/N's shoulder. Han and Leia had been in and out with C-3PO and R2-D2, but Y/N had stayed the entire time, only eating a small portion of the food they had brought.
"I'm okay." Y/N said, smiling up at Han and wiping a hand across her face. He grimaced, and Y/N looked up at Luke, wishing he could just be close to her. Watching him float in the tank lifelessly was unsettling, and all she wanted to do was cuddle with him for an entire solstice.
"You need to sleep at some point. Chewy told me you barley slept on the Falcon last night, and it's getting late." Han told her, and Y/N looked back to him
"Exactly. I slept last night so I'm fine." Y/N told him.
"You need to eat and sleep, and then Luke will be out." Han pushed, and Y/N stood up.
"Why do you care? You were going to leave anyway." Y/N crossed her arms, and Han looked almost hurt.
"I was just trying to help you. Don't want you looking like more of a mess than normal when he comes out." Han said, and Y/N punched his shoulder.
"That's for leaving me here." Y/N seethed, and Han rolled his eyes.
"You would have died out there in your state. I was doing you a favor." He explained, and Y/N pushed Han. It wasn't hard, since she was so weak, but it still angered Han.
"Doing me a favor? I was trying to save him and you stopped me."
"You were going crazy, Y/N! You can't blame me for not taking you." He said, and Y/N frowned.
"I also promised Luke I wouldn't put you in danger if he were to go missing." Han said softly, and Y/N looked to her unconscious lover.
"Why?" She whispered, placing a hand on the tank.
"He loved you, ya know."
"Yeah, I do." Y/N let a tear slip out of her eye, and Han wiped it away.
"He'll be okay." He said, bringing Y/N into a side hug.
"I know, but I just want him to be okay now." She mumbled, placing her other hand on the tank, leaning against it.
"Will you rest now?" Han asked, hoping he'd get to her after that talk.
"I'm okay here." Y/N said, and Han sighed, but left to sleep anyway.
~
"Mistress Y/N?" Y/N woke up to 3PO's voice, and she looked around to realize she was still in the room they were keeping Luke in. She sat up, looking up to see Luke still floating in the tank. "They're taking Master Luke out now." 3PO informed her, and she stood to see Han and Leia also in the room. The droid detached from the tank, and Y/N stood with the others to watch Luke be lifted out of the tank. They set him on a bed, then toweled him down. They put new clothes on him and then whisked him away, Y/N in tow. Leia and Han met her on the way, and the three of them followed the bed until a droid stopped them.
"No humans allowed until Commander Skywalker is awake." The droid said, and Y/N scowled.
"I'm his girlfriend." Y/N explained.
"Doesn't matter. Commander Skywalker needs his rest." The droid responded.
"Well how long is that gonna take?" Han stepped up, defending Y/N.
"A least a few hours."
"What? No, I want to see him now." Y/N said, trying to get past the droid. It didn't budge.
"I'm afraid you can't. Please go to your room, and we will have you notified when he wakes."
"No! I'm going to be with him in there." Y/N tried to push the droid away, but he did nothing.
"Move, you big bag of bolts!" She cried, but the droid did not let her through.
"Y/N, it'll probably be good for you to get some sleep." Leia put a hand on her shoulder, but Y/N shrugged it off.
"I don't want sleep, I want to see him!" She yelled, but the droid still stood in her way. "I swear to the Imperial Army I will rip you apart piece by piece if you don't let me through." Y/N threatened, however the droid seemed uninterested.
"We'll get clearance from the General. This isn't the hill you want to die on." Leia said, and Y/N turned to her. She looked at Leia, and then at Han, and suddenly she deflated.
"I just want to be with him. Make sure he's okay." She said, crying for what seemed like the millionth time. Leia wrapped her up in a hug, and she let out a breath against her.
"He'll be okay. He's in good hands. You should get some rest." Leia pulled away and winked, and Y/N just nodded. It appeared that Leia had a plan, and knowing her it was probably a good one.
"We're terribly sorry about that." 3PO said as they walked away, and once they turned the corner, Leia began to talk.
"We're sneaking you in here tonight." She mumbled, and the group continued walking.
"How?" Y/N asked, looking at Leia, but she was looking straight ahead,
"It's cold enough at night that there aren't many alive rebels that work in the medical wing, and droids are charging." Leia explained, still looking ahead as they began walking.
"I'll come get you from your room in two hours." Leia finished as they came up to Y/N's room. She honestly almost forgot she had her own room, spending so much time in Luke's.
"Thank you." Y/N smiled at them both, hugged Leia and then went to her room.
~
She couldn't sleep. She knew Luke was perfectly fine, but not being able to see and feel him made her on edge. She almost fainted at the knock on her door. Y/N opened it way to eagerly, smiling at Leia.
It was cold in the hallways, since it was night now. Y/N shivered as she walked through the empty space, making her way slowly to where Luke was.
"Do you know which room he's in?" Y/N asked, coming up upon the many doors leading to rooms.
"While you were throwing your tantrum, I was watching to see which room they put him in." Leia smirked, opening the door to her right. Y/N smiled, hugged Leia, and then quickly went into the room.
"Oh, Luke." Y/N mumbled, seeing Luke laying on the bed asleep. His hair covered his closed eyes partially, and his skin was still pale, making his injuries seem worse. She pushed herself onto his bed, laying down next to him. "You dumbass." Y/N whispered, clinging to him. His body was warm, and Y/N kissed his cheek, hand going to rest on his chest and leg wrapped around him.
Finally, finally, she fell into a peaceful sleep.
~
"You're not supposed to be here." Y/N woke to the stupid droids voice, and she sat up.
"I'm sorry." Y/N mumbled, moving from Luke. She looked at him, and he was still sleeping. She felt like she hadn't gotten any sleep, and she realized she hadn't been asleep for long.
"I'm going to ask you to leave, Ma'am." The droid said, and Y/N let a little breath out.
"It's fine, Med. You can go to your next patient." A human said at the door, and Y/N smiled slightly.
"Thank you." She said to the man at the door, who nodded and turned the light off.
~
Lips on hers. That's what she finally woke up to.
Chapped, bruised, swollen lips, but they most definitely belonged to the one and only Luke Skywalker.
Y/N opened her eyes, pushing Luke away lightly. She was still in his bed in the medic wing, and when she sat up, she noticed Han, Leia, Chewy, 3PO and R2 were also in the room. Y/N blushed, and Luke brought her closer.
"What happened?" Y/N asked, and Luke shook his head, cuddling closer to her.
"I got taken by a snow monster, and it was really cold." Luke mumbled, and Y/N rolled her eyes, holding him close as well.
"Well, it seems you two get along very well. When did this happen?" Han asked, and Y/N sunk farther into the bed.
"A lot of things happen behind your back, Han." Luke said smugly, and Y/N smiled.
"It's cute that you think this was behind my back."
"I'm glad you're okay." Y/N said, looking up at Luke and pretending Han hadn't just spoke.
"I am too. I heard you went crazy and threw a tantrum without me." Luke smirked, and Y/N hit his chest, beginning to move away. "It's kinda cute." Luke said, pulling Y/N closer to him.
"You're about to die again, Commander Skywalker." Y/N threatened, and Luke rolled his eyes and brought her close up to him.
"I'm so glad you're not already crazy."

You had nightmares. Why wouldn’t you? You witnessed your family being killed and you were forced to survived on your own at the ripe age of five for nearly a month.
You had nightmares about what happened to your family. You had nightmares about what happened while you were all alone. Now you also have nightmares about your new life. You feared you’d lose them the same way you lost your last family. You feared a lot of things and those fears haunted you when you tried to sleep.
When the nightmares only left you startled and scared to sleep alone you’d climb out of bed to wander down the hall to Ben’s room. You’d slip into the dark room and into his bed. The motion would stir him but he’d sense it was you. He never asked why you climbed into bed with him. He just shared the covers, roll over and go back to sleep.
Being with Ben never failed to help you sleep. He was a few years older than you. He was bigger and more comfortable with the force than you were. You knew you were safe with him. You knew he’d protect you. You never struggled to sleep with him around.
The next morning he’d always wait until you woke up before leaving the room. He didn’t want you to wake up by yourself in case the nightmares were worse than he sensed. He didn’t want you to panic. He didn’t want you to wake up and think you were all alone again.
“We all bad dreams sometimes,” He would tell you when you felt embarrassed for sneaking into his room. “There’s nothing wrong with wanting some company,” He would assure you. “Let’s get some breakfast,” He would take you by the hand and lead you toward the food. Food always helped take your mind off of the bad stuff in your head.
There are nights, however, when you wake up and know that Ben’s presence wouldn’t be enough. Nights where you wake up too terrified to even attempt going back to sleep. You didn’t want to close your eyes and you didn’t want to stay in your dark room. Your solution was to wander around the Falcon.
On these nights it was a toss up on who would find you. Sometimes Leia would sense your distress and come find you. When it’s her, she’d eat a late night snack with you and tell you stories about different planets. She’d explain everything in such vivid detail that your mind would sore with the possibilities of what everything looked like, sounded like, and tasted like. You’d be so focused on that that you would forget what had you so terrified.
That is until she decided to lead you back to your room. She’d tuck you into bed, turn on a nightlight, and tell you another story. A fantasy story in hopes of giving you pleasant dreams. She’d will the Force to wrap around you. She’d give you a security blanket and let the Force assure you that you were safe. She’d stay with you until you fell asleep.
Then there’s nights where instead of Leia finding you, Han would. He was no stranger to late nights and avoiding sleep. He understood you were going through a tough time and wouldn’t force you to try to sleep.
Instead, he’d scoop you up in his arms. Sometimes he’d take you to the cockpit where he’d show you all the buttons and tell you what each of them do. He’d show you how to fly and even let you steer a little bit. When he didn’t take you to the cockpit he would take you to which ever part of the ship that needed to be fixed. He’d show you what was fixed, explain why it was fixed, and the two of you would attempt to repair it.
Try as you might, you always ended up sleeping before the job was finished. Sometimes you’d find yourself leaning against a wall dozing off. Other times you’d fall asleep in his lap. The sight always brought a smile to Han’s face. He’ll let you sleep all night on his lap but occasionally he’ll carry you back to your room where he’ll tuck you in, kiss your forehead, and leave you to rest.
Finally, there’s the nights where you’re nearly inconsolable. You’ll wake up sobbing. You’ll dart out of your room and just run around trying to find either Han, Leia or Ben. Rationally, you knew where their rooms are but when you’re this terrified you easily get lost.
Before Leia has the time to sense you or Han even notices your cries, Chewie finds you. The first time this happens always comes up in your mind when you think of the large fur ball.
You were running down one of the halls. You were sobbing and crying out for someone when you heard a roar behind you. Spinning around you saw Chewie looking at you with a tilted head. You try to quiet down but the tears still fall and your lip wobbles.
A soft sound comes from his chest as he kneels to the ground. Even kneeling he’s gigantic to you but all intimidation disappears when he opens his arms. You whine and run into them.
You nearly disappear in his arms. He holds you against him and you cuddle into him. He sits down somewhere and keeps a continuous rumble coming from his chest that lulls you to sleep.
In the morning Han is the one to find you both in the common room. Chewie hadn’t slept a wink. Han remembers seeing Chewie ready to fight anyone who even looked as if they wanted to harm you. Even when he tried to take you from Chewie’s arms, all he wanted to do was put you in your own bed, the Wookie growled threateningly.
“Alright, alright, keep ‘em then,” Han says holding his hands up. Chewie softens when you stir but you don’t want up.
From that day onward everyone knows not to take you from Chewie when you fall asleep in his arms. He won’t let anyone near you until your awake. He felt overly protective of you. He knew you had been hurt before you came into the family and he vowed to protect you, like he had vowed to protect the rest of the family. He knew you put a lot of trust in him when you fell asleep in his arms and the last thing he was going to do was lose that trust because someone got too close and tried to snatch you.
Every time you ended up falling asleep in his arms ended up being a sleepless night for the Wookie but he never complained. If the only way you would calm down and get some rest was in his arms then he’d hold you and protect you.
You’d never admit it, although they had to know, that sometimes you’d seek certain people out when you just didn’t want to sleep. You were used to functioning on just a couple of hours so on the nights you simply wanted to do something you’d seek Han out to learn more about the Falcon. You tried not to bother Leia since she liked to sleep.
Sometimes you’d go bother Ben just to annoy him and have a friend to talk too. He’d play the annoyed brother part until he ultimately indulged you in whatever whim you had in mind. Sometimes you just wanted someone to talk to and other times you were feeling mischievous.
No matter what happened, though, you knew you could count on them to be there for you. They may not be the best at saying how they feel but you could see they’re love for you through their actions and you loved them just as much.

Chapter fifteen
“No Rin.” “Please.” “No Rin.” “But babeeeee.” Suna whined, he held out his EJP jersey in his hands. “Fine just this once, I don’t want anyone coming in.” You said and he nodded, you turned around and began to take off your sleeping shirt and Rin pouted, “Babe gimme a show.” He whined once more. You turned with your chest covered and threw your sleeping shirt which landed perfectly on his head.
You put on the cold jersey and saw how it still looked like a dress even though you have gained so much weight. Probably because Rin has gained so much muscle. You turned to face him and his mouth stayed hung open, you giggled and neared him. You rested your hands on his thighs and gave his cheek a small peck. “You okay there?” You asked. His arms wrapped around you and he lifted you on the bed like a rag doll. “Why” kiss “are you” kiss “so” kiss “beautiful?” Kiss.
“Stop being so cute then my heart can’t contain it.” You scolded as you brushed your fingers through his short hair. “Mommy...daddy?” You both heard behind the door, the doorknob slowly twists and you push Rin away, he falls off the bed and lands on the floor, right on his ass. The door opens and you see Rini there, “What’s wrong?” You asked him, “My tooth.” He said. “What about your—oh he’s bleeding—“ Rin said. “Take him to the bathroom and rinse his mouth, I’ll check out his mouth after I change.” You told Rin and he nodded. He carried Rini to your bathroom and helped him rinse his mouth. You quickly changed out of his jersey and put on the shirt from before. “Alright lemme see.” You said as you walked in. Rini was sitting on the counter with his mouth opened, sure enough he had a loose tooth and was too afraid to pull it out. There was nothing you can do but wait for it to fall off by itself, you wouldn’t dare to traumatize him by pulling it out yourself.
You carried the boy back to his room and saw Chewy sleeping on Akira’s bed. He woke up due to the noise and sensed Rini’s slight discomfort over his loose tooth. He carefully jumped off and yawned. With ease he climbed on Rini’s bed and cuddled with him. You tucked them both in and kissing Rini’s head goodnight you made your way out to an annoyed looking Rin watching TV. His arms are crossed over his chest and you can clearly see his flexed muscles. You both were about to go to sleep so it didn’t make sense for him to start watching TV. “Aren’t you going to bed?” You tilted your head.
“Not anymore.” He replied a little coldly. “What’s wrong?” You asked with a small pout, “Nothing..” he replied, you sighed and sat next to him on the couch, “doesn’t seem like nothing, did I do something?” You asked but he stayed quiet. “Rin we gotta have communication, if you don’t tell me what I did wrong then I can’t fix it.” You said. “Why are you so hesitant to let people know we’re together? Are you ashamed of me? Is that it? Why do we have to hide our relationship from our own children.” He asked and it finally clicked, “I told you I’m just a little hesitant but I realized now that I shouldn’t have to hide our relationship. I’m sorry now I seem like such a big jerk.” You sighed and you laced your fingers with his. “I get that you’re hesitant but maybe we should at least tell our kids and then slowly tell our friends? You’ll be surprised by the number of messages I get from the twins asking if I made a move yet.” He said and you couldn’t help but chuckle.
“Okay, we’ll tell the kids.”
Tumblr media
“Bye I’m off!” Rin said at the front of the door, the kids automatically stopped what they were doing and ran to see their dad off. You followed behind them and Jamie yelled out her farewell since she was on bed rest. The kids hugged their dad and said their goodbyes and you waited to give him a kiss on the cheek and then expect to get bombarded with questions by the twins. You weren’t expecting him to hold your face and kiss your lips in a deep and loving way. You heard gasps and began smacking Rin’s arm because you couldn’t breath and he wouldn’t let you go. He finally pulled away and you punched him and called him a jerk, immediately the kids began asking questions and running around you as Rin laughed and waltzed to his car.
They couldn’t help but notice your dumb smile.
So this is love?
They wondered and smiled in amazement. You realized it was quiet and you looked down to see the kids staring, your cheeks flushed up. “Mama you’re in deep huh?” Akira asked, “Akira how do you know what that even means?” You asked, “Aunt Jamie.” She smiled. “Jamie I swear to god.” You growled as you made your way to the living room. She was sleeping with her hand over her baby bump. You sighed and put a light blanket over her. “Aunt Jamie is resting so don’t make too much noise, it’s hard for her to sleep with the baby inside since they won’t stop kicking.” You told the kids and they nodded.
“Humpty dumpty had a great fa—“ you were interrupted when your phone rang. Akira was asleep already in her crib but Rini couldn’t sleep so you tried reading so some books to him that your aunt donated. “Hello?” You answered without checking the caller ID, “Y/N..” you heard Jamie’s wobbly voice and you immediately sat up on your futon. “What’s wrong?” You asked, “H-he hit me a-again...” she stuttered. “Where are you?” You asked, voice filled with concern “I’m at home but he left with his buddies to go drink again..” she sniffled. “I’m on my way.” You said and she hung up, you made her promise to call the cops in case he came back. You grabbed the baby carriers and carefully placed Akira in, you were glad she was still asleep. “Come on Rini, let’s go see aunt Jamie okay?” You asked and he giggled. You exited your apartment with a carrier in each hand, their diaper bag, your wallet inside their bag, and a metal baseball bat that Tobio gave as a safety gift.
You drove past your crappy neighborhood and eventually entered Jamie’s nice and fancy neighborhood. You passed a fancy car after another fancy car but your heart almost fell out of your butt when you saw his car. You went into the drive way and quietly pulled the garbage can behind his car in case he made a getaway. You were tired of this sorry excuse of a man hurting Jamie and you were going to do whatever it takes to make sure he’s locked behind bars. You left your babies inside the car, you wouldn’t do this at all but it was nighttime and nobody was around. You locked the car and walked with your bat to the front door. You unlocked the door with the key Jamie gave you and slowly walked in.
“Are you an idiot?! You fucking good for nothing I swear!” You heard his yelling, immediately you called the police in case Jamie couldn’t, you didn’t respond in case they’d talk you out from trying to save your friend. “Don’t you fucking touch me!” You heard Jamie yell. “You’re my fiancé I can touch you however I want.” He growled. “I said no!” She yelled once more. You closed your eyes and prayed to whatever God out there to help you out. Your prayer was interrupted by glass breaking and another scream. You immediately turned to the kitchen where the noise was coming from and saw the 6”2 man hovering over Jamie who was on the floor sitting against the wall, you almost fainted at the blood and dark liquid you assumed was wine, and your anger rose when you saw her hand over her eye. She was obviously in pain. In his hand was the broken wine bottle. He lifted his arm once more but you blacked out and swung the bat. You hit his side and he growled in pain. He turned to see you and his eyes darkened. “You fucking bitch, this is all your fault. If you haven’t became friends with her worthless ass then maybe she wouldn’t have tried to leave me.” He seethed. He made his way to you and before you can defend yourself with another swing the police had barged in and listened to everything.
Jamie was taken to the hospital and was released in the early morning. Tobio helped you moved her stuff out because she suffered a broken wrist and a fractured leg. Your tiny studio apartment couldn’t hold all her things so she had to pay for a storage unit. You couldn’t help but laugh at the look on her face when she saw how empty your home truly was. You slept on the floor in a futon while your kids slept in cribs. You couldn’t afford dressers so you kept their clothes folded neatly on bookshelves. There were baby toys everywhere but no TV. No couch, no alcohol, no nothing.
“Welcome to my home.” You did your little jazz hands, she chuckled and smiled. “Thank you for everything.” “No problem, I know it isn’t much but just for a bit until the trial is over okay?” You said and she nodded. You placed the kids in their cribs and fixed the futon you were sleeping on. “You can sleep here.” You patted, she nodded and made her way over with her crutches. “Do you have another futon?” She asked. “Yeah I’ll pull it out right now.” You said and she nodded. You helped her down and tucked her in. “You’re the only friend who decided to help me.” She spoke suddenly, catching you off guard. “All of my other friends could care less whether I died or not, they’d probably fight over who can keep my clothes.” She said with a dry chuckle. “I appreciate you yn, thank you.” She said and closed her eyes.
You looked at your best friend completely passed out and reminisced I’ve show much you’ve both grown. From enemies to besties.
Tumblr media
“Don’t forget they have a limit of 5000 yen.” You warned Tobio and he rolled his eyes. “Yeah yeah, whatever lemme spoil my niece and nephew in peace.” He argued and you sighed. “Just don’t buy them slime, please.” You practically begged. “That was the first thing they asked when I arrived.” He said as he buckled them in their seats.
Once in a while Tobio loved taking them out to give you a break and you appreciated that so much. When Tobio entered your home to grab a quick water, Rin’s car was pulling up and you were slightly nervous as to what could happen. You haven’t exactly told Tobio you were dating Rin again, and Tobio totally flipped when he found out Rin was moving in.
You had told Rin that Tobio wanted to take the kids out for the day and he was a little hesitant, not because he didn’t trust Rin but he wondered if they liked Tobio more than him. He understands he was like a father figure to them and he knows that he’s not on Tobio’s good side. He’s also jealous because he hasn’t taken them out for a father and child day as well. He would love to go to the mall with them and spend money on useless shit. You’d be angry but he’s sure he can handle it.
Rin parked his car and took out his gym bag, he also took out a bag of some thick ass pads, aloe Vera gel and a bottle of something called witch hazel and he made sure it was the alcohol free kind per your request over text. At least you were kind enough to send him pictures so he’s not wandering around the store like a fool.
He was confused about the pads because you use a thinner pad when you’re not using tampons and wondered if your vagina got bigger because you gave birth. But he thought that you feel the same as always so he’d rather ask then overthink things.
“Welcome back Rin.” You smiled as from across Tobio’s car, “Thanks.” He said simply and leaned in to give Akira a kiss on the head, he went around to do the same to Rini and then he pulled you close for a small kiss. “Well what do we have here? I know y’all are together but this was the first time I’ve seen y’all kiss.” Jamie said as she stepped out. You both flinched thinking it was Tobio and Jamie laughed, “Don’t worry he’s in the bathroom. But when are you planning on telling him? You can’t hide your relationship forever.” She rested her hand on her hip.
“I don’t know to be honest.” You sighed and leaned against Tobio’s car. “Maybe he should warm up to me first before we tell him?” Rin asked, “If it isn’t Suna Rintarou.” Tobio walked out of the house. Rin stood straight and gave a slight bow, “Thank you for being there for yn and the twins when I was gone. It’s nice to finally meet you.” He tried to be as respectful as possible.
Tobio crossed his arms over his chest with raised brows, “I can’t say the same for you.” He spat and you felt a pang in your chest. Tobio looked so angry. “Tobio, he’s doing his best. He’s been nothing but respectful and helpful around the house and with the kids.” You explained, “Look, I get that you’re hopeful and forgiving but he ruined your life—“
“He gave me the twins—how is that ruining my life?” You defended. Tobio rolled his eyes, “Whatever, I don’t wanna fight.” He mumbled and you nodded. You stepped away from the car so he can finally take the kids and as he passed by Rin, he purposely bumped his shoulder. You were about to say something but Rin just shook his head and brushed him off. “Bye Tobio, I’ll see you after.” You said but he just mumbled a bye and glared at Rin.
He soon left and Jamie broke the silence, “Yeah so he definitely hates Rin.”
“No shit Sherlock.” Rin sighed and rubbed his temples. “He’ll probably strangle me and give me an earful if I tell him now. We just gotta keep it a secret a little while longer.” You said and they nodded in understanding.
Rin went to shower as you began cooking and Jamie went on a livestream for a bit. She was playing music from your TV which wasn’t pg so you let I slide since the kids weren’t here. “Hey yn do you remember any cheer drills from highschool?” Jamie asked as you turned off the stove to let the food cool for a bit, “Um...not really but didn’t you guys used to do spins and stuff? I saw it a lot during the volleyball games.” You answered, “Yeah you’re not helping but thank you.” She smiled as she put her phone in front of a water bottle. You shook your head and tried not to laugh at he sarcasm.
She took a few steps back to try to recreate an old cheer, obviously she couldn’t jump or do high kicks but it was funny to see her try and you made sure to keep an eye on her in case she overworked herself. You turned back to your task for a split second when the rice cooker beeped. Jamie squatted—well she tried and suddenly she felt a splash down her legs. She gasped as she saw her mustard yellow skirt now wet. “YN—“ she slightly raised her voice in a small panic. “Yes?” You immediately asked and walked to check on her, “My water broke.”
“Lies.”
“This doesn’t smell like pee.”
You were immediately at her side in order to help get her ready for a trip to the hospital. “Are you feeling any contractions?” You asked and she shook her head, “I feel fine.” She replied. “Turn off the livestream.” She said and you quickly turned off her phone. “Okay we’ll call the midwives and see what we need to do for you.” You said and she nodded. You immediately called the midwives and they asked what happened until Jamie winced and groaned. “Jamie, what’s wrong? Do you feel it now?” You asked and she nodded. “Yeah if we don’t leave now I’m having the baby in your house.” She sighed.
The midwives agreed to meet at the hospital with you and you tried your best to guide Jamie to the car. “Rin!” You yelled, he immediately stumbled out of the bathroom wearing some basketball shorts and a t shirt, his usual stay at home wear. “Take her to the car and I’ll go get her bag, her water broke.” You instructed quickly. He was quick to carry her, causing Jamie to smack him when he made a face that he can feel her ‘pee’ after he just showered.
He carefully placed her in the passenger seat of his car since it was smaller and he saw you rush out of the door. “Hnnnnnnn. Fuck my pelvis—“ she groaned and began taking deep breathes.
“Please don’t give birth in my car.”
“Shut the fuck up, Rintarou.”
You kicked Rin to the backseat with Jamie’s bag much to his dismay and you reversed and made your way to the hospital which was about a good twenty minutes away. He called Hana who happened to be on her way back already because she finished business early.
Halfway through the drive Jamie asked to hold your hand for comfort. You’ve done it before, when she faced her ex in trial, when she started a new makeup line or product, before she had an event, before her wedding with Hana. You were always there. “I’m scared.” She mumbled as she looked out the window, “It’s okay to be scared, I was scared when I was in labor.” You replied. “Who was with you?” She asked, “Tobio, and my aunt. Miwa and Hana came when I returned home.” You answered as you stopped at the red light. “Not even your mom?” Her voice cracked, “Nope, not even her. I did call to let her know I was due soon but she just called me names so I hung up.”
Rin looked down at his hands and he rubbed the sweat from his palms on his shorts. It hurt listening to this, if only he didn’t change his number, if only he didn’t lie to you, if only he never laid eyes on you.
If only he never met you.
Tobio was right.
How can you say he didn’t ruin your life when these past five years have been nothing but hell. When you were out of the house and Rin was home with Jamie and the kids he would ask Jamie what happened the last five years because he knew she wouldn’t sugarcoat anything.
He felt a jab in his chest when he heard about all the negative things, and no matter how many positive things Jamie said happened. It was never good enough for him to forget all the shit he put you through.
And that’s why he’s so clingy now, that’s why he’s happier and eager to help and please you in whatever way he can to make up for all this lost time where he should have been by your side. He’ll prove to Tobio and anyone else that he’s good enough for you, that he can be trusted and that he truly loves you.

Funfacts!
I’m sorry I forgot to do this in the last chapter please forgive me 🧎
The kids are happy that their parents are together and they started drawing their family portraits with you two holding hands
Rini accidentally swallowed his tooth in his sleep and cried that the tooth fairy would give him money but Rin made sure to sneak money under his pillow the next night
Jamie’s ex is still in prison and is pissed she left him for a woman (but we stan Hana)
I know same sex marriage isn’t legal in Japan but once again this is a fanfic so I make the rules 🧍
Rin is actually scared of Tobio
But Rin is more scared of Hana
Rin wants to procreate with yn wearing his EJP jersey 🧎 daddy please
Tobio likes to spoil his niece and nephew a little too much. Yn always has to warn him or scold him. Tobio almost bought Rini a real sword because he liked it so much.
Rin is pretty jelly of Tobio’s relationship with his kids and wants to know his secrets
This is Jamie’s 3rd pregnancy, the first was with her ex but his little swimmers were too weak, and the second..y’all already know 😔 if not then reread chapter 1 when yn scolds Jamie for chasing after the kids
After the baby is a year old then Hana will try to get pregnant with the same donor that Jamie had
Idk if I told y’all already but Tobio is the donor 🧐
The thick pads and stuff that Suna got was for YN to make padcicles for Jamie.
Also I am very hungry

The Forman Kitchen
Point Place, Wisconsin
The morning at the breakfast table, things still hadn’t changed between the three teenagers, but they were at least able to be around each other without fists flying, so y/n took that as a plus. Y/n could barley eat though. She had woken up feeling sick to her stomach; the thought of food repulsing her. She nibbled on her toast and couldn’t even sip on her orange juice without wanting to vomit.
“Y/n, are you okay?” Kitty asked concerned. “You’ve barley touched your breakfast.”
Y/n groaned. “Just feeling a little sick is all.”
Kitty hummed and pressed the back of her hand to y/n’s forehead. “You don’t feel warm. Maybe it was something you ate.”
Y/n groaned again and put her head down. “Maybe.”
“Hey Dad, can you pass the bacon?” Eric asked, stretching arm out.
Y/n gagged and groaned. “Please don’t say bacon.”
Eric smirked and grabbed a piece, biting into it. “Mhmmmm…bacόn.”
“Please stop,” she grumbled, her stomach churning.
“It’s so juicy and chewy and the fat at the end is the best part,” Eric continued, laughing.
“Oh, God! Did you have to say that?!” she screeched as she made haste to the nearest bathroom. She could feel the contents of her stomach rising before she made it to the bathroom.
“Did you really have to do that?” Kitty asked, disappointed.
“Yes,” Eric responded. “Yes, I did.”
Kitty shook her head in disapproval and brought her fork of food to her mouth.
Red glared at his son before returning his attention to the newspaper.
“What?!” Eric asked. “She started it!”
“Oh, boo hoo, she broke your dolls,” Red mocked.
 “G.I Joes,” Eric corrected.
“Whatever,” his father answered. “Whatever she did isn’t worth making her throw up over.”
Yes, it is, Eric thought.
Y/n returned to the kitchen, her skin ashen and her eyes sunken. “I think I’m going to go back to bed so I don’t barf all over the table.”
“Well, okay honey,” Kitty said getting up and taking her plate to the sink. “I’ll bring you some soup later, okay?”
Y/n shook her head, making a face of disgust. “Please, Mom. I can’t even think about food right now.”
“Well, you have to get some food in you,” Kitty responded. “Otherwise you’ll get even more sick.”
Y/n nodded. “Okay. I just really want to go back to bed.”
“Okay sweetie,” Kitty responded, rubbing her daughter’s shoulder. “We’ll see you later.”
Y/n nodded and stole a glance at Hyde before she made her way upstairs.
“Eric, I need you to mow the lawn later,” Red demanded as he finished his breakfast.
“What? Why can’t Hyde do it?”
“Because unlike your sorry ass, I actually have work,” Hyde replied.
Eric glared at him before turning back to Red. “Why do I always have to do it?”
“Because I said so!” Red barked.
                                                   --Time Skip—
“So, you think you got food poisoning, huh?” Donna asked that night over the phone.
Y/n nodded before she realized she was talking over the phone. “Yeah, I do. Every time I move, my body screams at me. My back is hurting so much. And my stupid cramps aren’t helping any either.”
“Have you been throwing up that much?”
“Yeah,” Y/n replied, wiping her sweaty and oily hair out of her face. “I think I pulled a muscle in my back or something because of it. Even my boobs hurt.”
“Nausea, back aches, and tender breasts,” Donna counted off. “Hey, you may be pregnant.” Donna chuckled at her own joke.
“Ha ha,” Y/n chortled. “You’re funny. Definitely not pregnant.”
“Yeah? And how do you know?”
“Because I’m supposed to be getting my period in a few days. These could be symptoms of PMS. Or maybe both.”
“Supposed to,” Donna pushed, putting emphasis on her words.
“Shut up,” Elena laughed. “Stop saying that. I’m not pregnant. Eric would throw himself off a cliff if that happened. Or Hyde. Or Eric would push Hyde off a cliff. One of the three.”
Donna chuckled. “But seriously, are you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. Just can’t do much for a couple of days.”
“Okay, well if you need anything, you know where to find me.”
“Thanks Donna,” Y/n said. “I’m going to go to sleep. I’ll talk to you later.”            “Alright, rest easy. Talk to you later.”
Y/n hung up the phone before turning back around and falling back asleep, feeling her stomach churning. Pregnant.
The word echoed in her head as sleep quickly enveloped her.                                                                             --Time Skip—
“Guys!” Kelso called as he barged through the door in the basement. “The Omen is on TV right now!” He hurriedly made his way over to the television set, switching on the movie.
“Kelso, what the hell, man? We were watching that!” Hyde piped up.            “C’mon, it’s Halloween season!” Kelso argued. “Tis the season to be jolly!”
“That’s Christmas, moron,” Jackie said from behind him.
“Well, whatever! I think we should get in the spirit.”
The gang groaned as they leaned back into their seats.
 “Hey, where’s y/n?” Hyde asked.
“Oh, she’s upstairs sleeping,” Donna answered nonchalantly.
“Still? It’s six o’ clock,” he responded. “She’s been upstairs since this morning.”
“Well, food poisoning is a real bitch,” she replied. “And so is PMS.”
“Alright, TMI,” Eric said and got up to turn up the volume on the TV.
“Oh, Eric, don’t be such a prude,” Fez said. “It’s completely natural. In my culture, we honor women whenever they go through their monthly ordeal. It’s kind of a big deal. We thank the gods and celebrate their womanhood. Then, we bring them flowers and chocolates and some candy too. Or whatever else they’re craving. They get a week off and can stay at home in bed while their husbands, brothers, fathers, or sons take care of everything.”
“Wow…can I join your culture?” Donna asked.
Fez chuckled. “Sure, if you feel like eating bugs for breakfast.”
Donna grimaced. “Never mind.” She turned to Eric. “Why don’t you do that for me?”
“Because a woman shouldn’t bleed for seven days straight and still live,” he deadpanned.
“Yeah, I don’t trust anything that can bleed for that long and not die,” Kelso said.
Hyde looked at him amused. “You can’t even be with a woman for seven days straight, let alone be there for her during her monthly problem.”
“Not true! I was with Jackie for three years!”
“And you cheated on me at least once a month!” Jackie responded. “Hey…wait a minute!”
“You guys, women are sacred. They need to be honored and cherished during this time because the pain they go through, we will never understand,” Fez said gently.
“We don’t understand?” Hyde said. “Have you ever been kicked in the nads?”
“Okay, sure, but imagine getting kicked in the nads for at least 3 days straight,” Donna responded.
“Oh, God!” Eric said, squirming in his seat. “I can’t even imagine that!”
“Well, sometimes, it’s even more painful,” Jackie added.
“What does it feel like?” Kelso asked, staring at her.
“Well, it can feel like someone is taking a knife to your pelvis and slowly twisting it,” Jackie responded causing all the men in the room to squirm, except for Fez.
“Fez, man, how are you not effected by this?” Kelso asked.
“I grew up with five sisters,” he responded, shrugging. “Nothing I’m not used to.”
“Are you guys seriously talking about periods?” Y/n asked as she slowly made her way down the stairs.
“Hey, you’re up,” Donna stated. “How are you feeling?”
“Pretty lousy,” Y/n said. “But I’d rather be miserable with company than go through it alone.” She plopped down on the couch next to where Hyde was sitting.
“Are you going through your…girl problem?” Kelso asked nervously.
“What? No,” Y/n replied. “I mean, I could be, but it could also be food poisoning.”
“Well, what did you eat?” Hyde asked.
“Nothing out of the ordinary and nothing that you guys didn’t eat,” she replied.
“Must be the PMS thing then,” Donna said, laughing when Eric shifted uncomfortably in his seat.
“Can we please stop talking about my sister’s cycle? It’s giving me a very vivid image that I’d rather not have.”
“Y/n, do you need anything?” Fez asked sweetly. “Chocolate? Water? A hot water bottle?”
Y/n smiled at him. “Why, yes, Fez. That would be lovely.”
“Okay, I’ll be right back!” Fez beamed and hopped out the chair to run out the door.
“Hey, man, why are you taking care of my chick?” Hyde asked, stopping Fez at the door. “That’s my job.”
“Then why aren’t you doing it?” Fez shot back.
Y/n’s mouth fell open in a laugh as she covered it with her hand. Donna and Jackie tightened their lips to keep themselves for laughing.
“’Cause she didn’t ask,” he responded.
“She shouldn’t have to,” Fez said calmly. “You should just do it for her. That’s how you keep your woman happy.”
“Then why couldn’t you keep Jackie happy?” Hyde quipped.
Y/n gasped. “Steven!”
“No, no it’s okay,” Fez said, oddly calm. “You know, Hyde, normally that would bother me, but not today because I’m not the one having another man making my woman happy.”
Hyde grabbed the nearest object—a magazine—and threw it at Fez, but before it could hit him, he slammed the door shut; the magazine hitting the door with a thud.
“He’s right, you know,” Y/n responded with a smile.
“Do you really feel that way?” Hyde asked her.
Y/n shrugged. “Not really. It would be nice though.”
“I see,” Hyde said and stood from his chair, stalking his way to his room.
“Steven, wait!” she called after him. “I wasn’t being serious!”
He flapped a hand at her without turning to look at her and slammed his door.
“Wow,” Jackie said, puffing out her cheeks. “That escaladed quickly.”
Y/n shrunk down in her seat, feeling guilty. “What else is new with this group?”
“This is great!” Eric beamed, causing everyone to stare at him in confusion. “Now Hyde is mad at you too! Not just me.”
Y/n groaned and stood up slowly. “You’re an immature dillhole. I’m going back to bed.”
“What should I tell Fez when he gets back?” Donna asked.
“That I’m upstairs and he can come up.”
“I don’t think Hyde will like that very much,” Kelso mentioned.
“Who cares?” Eric griped.
“Look, I’ll deal with Hyde later,” Y/n responded, ignoring her twin. “Right now, I just want to feel better.” She trudged up the stairs, leaving the group alone.
 “What a mess,” Donna said.
“Tell me about it,” Jackie responded. “Eric, are you still mad at them?”
“Of course, I am!” he responded, surprised that Jackie would ask him such a question. “How can I not be?”
“Well, you can try not being mad,” Jackie suggested sarcastically.
“Eric, give it a rest, yeah?” Donna said. “It’s been over a week.”
Eric growled and leaned back in his seat.
“He was supposed to be moved out by now,” he mumbled.
“Shut. Up. Please,” Donna snapped. “He literally has nowhere to go. You have to be a real prick to throw him out on the streets. It’s not like he murdered your sister.”
“You just don’t get it, Donna!” he whined. The whole group groaned.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah we don’t get it because it’s not our sister and we would be pissed too if Hyde was nailing her, blah blah blah. Seriously, Eric, I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say we’re sick of hearing about it,” Kelso said, irritated. He just wanted to watch the movie. Why wasn’t anybody respecting that?
Eric furrowed his brows at his friends. “You guys really feel this way?”
“YES!” Jackie, Donna, and Kelso said in unison.
“Oh. Well, then, fine,” Eric grumbled and stood up.
“Where are you going?” Donna asked.
“Since you guys are tired of hearing about it, I’m going to go somewhere else.”
“Oh my God, you are such a drama queen,” Donna groaned. “Just sit back down and watch the movie with us.”
“Nah, I’m good. See you guys later.” With that, he grabbed his coat and shut the door, leaving the three teenagers left to watch the movie.
“He’s gotten more annoying than usual,” Jackie commented.
“You know, Jackie, normally I would be offended by that, but this time I have to agree with you,” Donna responded.
“Well, now we can watch the movie,” Kelso said.
The three sat in silence on the couch until Kelso tried to sneak his hand up Donna’s leg.
“Kelso!” Donna screeched as she slapped his hand away.
“Damn, Donna! I was just looking for the remote!”
“The remote is on the table, you idiot,” Jackie pointed out.
Kelso looked between the two girls with a hurt look. “Women are mean!” He stomped out the basement, forgetting the movie.
The girls looked at each other and shrugged, returning their attention to the TV before Donna got up to change it back to the channel they were watching.
                                                 --Time Skip—
Y/n stared down at the home pregnancy test, shock filling her. Positive. The test was freaking positive. She was going to be a mother. Oh God, how would everyone else react? What kind of mother was she going to be?
“Oh, Y/n, how could you?” Kitty asked from behind her, hurt playing on her face.
“Wait, Mom--!” Y/n tried to call after her mother before Red showed up at her side.
“How could you be such a disgrace to the family?!” Red shouted, his face turning pink. Kitty turned to her husband’s side and started sobbing. “Look what you’re doing to your mother!”
“No, but Daddy—” Y/n said, tears welling in her eyes.
“Wow, you’re such a whore!” Eric laughed as he suddenly appeared by their parents’ side. “And here I thought Laurie would be the one to get knocked up from some rando.”
“What?” she asked her twin, tears cascading down her pale cheeks.
“Wow, little sister, you certainly top me,” Laurie said, smirking.
“Laurie?” Y/n questioned.
“I’m leaving you,” Steven said coldly, appearing in front of her. “You were just a fling. You knew this from the start. I can’t have a baby with a loser.”
“You said you loved me!” Y/n screamed.
“I lied,” Steven said and smirked. “I only strung you along so that I could nail you. Now, look at you. You’re fat and alone.”
Y/n looked down and saw that her stomach had enlarged. “What?” she whispered.
“We can’t have you in the family,” Kitty suddenly said. “We can’t have a whore in the family.”
“You have Laurie!”
“At least she didn’t get pregnant!” her mother shot back. “You and your mistake can get out of our house, out of our lives. You’re no longer welcome!”
“No, Mom! Please, I need you. I need Daddy and Steven, please. I can’t do this alone. I need you more than ever.”
She went to grab his hands, but he jerked away from her. “Well, you’re gonna have to do it alone.”
Tears cascaded down her face as she tried to blink them away, but as quickly as they appeared, they disappeared. Suddenly, Y/n found herself sitting alone in a total darkness, a single light shining above her.
“No,” she whimpered, looking around. “No. No. NO!”
Y/n jerked awake, sweat coating her forehead. Her breathing was slightly heavy as she glanced at the clock. 2:08AM. She sighed and fell back onto her pillow, fingers threading through her sweaty and knotted hair. She couldn’t believe she’d been asleep for eight hours.
Her room suddenly flooded with light as Kitty, dressed in her pink robe, hair a rat’s nest, stood in her cracked door. “Y/n, honey, are you alright? I heard you yelling.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine,” Y/n replied. “Just had a nightmare.”
“Oh, honey, it’s okay,” Kitty replied and moved closer to adjust herself on the bed. “You know, when you were little, you would get nightmares all the time. And the only thing that would soothe you and get you to go back to sleep is when I would gently caress your hair until you fell back asleep.”
Y/n smiled softly. “Too bad I’m older now, huh?”
“Oh, nonsense,” Kitty said and leaned over, caressing her hair back. “You’re never too old for your mother’s love.”
Y/n smiled and turned on her side, facing Kitty.
“You wanna talk about it?” she asked her daughter after a moment of silence.
Y/n thought about it for a minute. She actually wanted to talk to her about it, but she knew if she did, she could open up something that she really didn’t want to. Even if it were just a dream, Kitty would know that it was something much deeper than that.
“No,” she responded after a beat. “I’m okay. Thank you, though.”
“Of course sweetheart,” Kitty cooed. She continued to smooth Y/n’s hair, effectively calming her down. Fifteen years later and it still works.
Y/n could already feel sleep overcoming her again. “Thank you, Mommy,” she mumbled as her eyelids grew heavier.
“You’re absolutely welcome,” Kitty responded and leaned over to kiss her forehead. “I love you.”
“I love you too,” Y/n whispered before falling asleep once more.
                                                 ⧝⧝⧝
Y/n woke up the next day, just as horrible as the day before. She dragged herself out of bed and trudged downstairs to see her family eating lunch.
“Morning Sunshine,” Kitty cheerfully greeted her. “You must be really sick to sleep in till noon.”
Y/n grunted back and grabbed some orange juice and sat down. The smell of their lunch making her nose curl, repulsing her.
“How’re you feeling, kitten?” Red asked.
“I’m okay,” Y/n responded. “Could be better. Still feel kinda nauseas and tired.”
“You want some dry toast?” Kitty asked. “You haven’t eaten much.”
Y/n nodded tiredly and put her head on the table. “I’d love some actually.”
Kitty smiled and got up, popping bread in the toaster. “Oh, your foreign friend dropped off some stuff for you. I left it here on the counter.”
“Hm?” Y/n hummed, looking at Kitty.
“He said something to do with your menstrual cycle, so he dropped off a hot water bottle, some midol, and a box of chocolate.”
“Oh, come on, Kitty, not while we’re eating!” Red exclaimed, disgusted.
The whole time, Eric and Steven had been quiet. Steven glared at the gifts through his aviators. Eric rolled his eyes and continued to eat his lunch.
“What a sweet boy!” Kitty laughed. “You know, I don’t think I’d mind if you ended up with him.”
Y/n smiled as Kitty set a plate of two slices of dry toast in front of her.
“I’m going to make you some tea as well. You gotta get some liquids in you,” Kitty stated.
“Kitty, don’t put ideas in her head!” Red said, throwing down the paper he was reading.
“What do you mean by that?” Y/n asked, offended. “Is it because of his skin color?”
“What?” Red asked, scrunching up his face. “God, no! I don’t want you dating anybody. You’re too young.”
“Dad, I’m eighteen,” Y/n deadpanned as she nibbled at her toast. “Eric and Donna have been dating since they were, like, eight.”
“No, we haven’t,” Eric argued.
“Shut up, yes you have,” Y/n said.
“Eric’s different,” Red continued. “Eric is a man, or as close of a man as he can get. Besides, Donna is the best he’s ever going to do.” He started laughing, but he was the only one who found that funny.
 “Thanks Dad,” Eric deadpanned.
“Red Forman!” Kitty exclaimed.
“What? It’s funny!” Kitty gave him a hard look making him shut up. “Fine, it’s not.”
Y/n managed a small smile before bringing a piece of toast to her lips. “Don’t worry, Dad. I’m not even seeing anyone.”
Eric stopped mid-bite to give side eye to his twin sister. Y/n returned a hard, cold stare to her brother as if to say don’t you freaking dare.
“So, Fez gave you those huh?” Steven asked.
“Yeah, I guess,” Y/n replied. “That was really nice of him.”
“Yeah, real nice,” he responded slowly.
“It was,” Y/n replied, staring at her boyfriend in suspicion. “You got something to say?”
“No, why would I?” he responded. “Why would I have anything to say that my best friend is flirting with my…other best friend?”
Kitty stood at the stove as she waited for the tea to heat up and squinted her eyes at Steven before looking to her husband who was giving him the same look.
“What’s your deal, Hyde?” Y/n asked him, growing annoyed with him.
“Oh, nothing,” he responded. “I’m just saying that he’s never done this for another girl before unless it was Jackie.”
“Steven, what’re you getting at?” Red asked him.
“Oh, I don’t know. Why don’t you tell me, Y/n?” Hyde said, staring coldly at her.
Y/n returned the glare. “If you’re insinuating that Fez likes me, you are terribly, terribly wrong.”
“Then why would he do it for you?” he asked impatiently.
“I don’t know!” Y/n responded, flabbergasted. “Because he wants to be nice?”
“Nice, ha!” Steven hollered, causing everyone to look at him in surprise. “Guys don’t do things just to be nice.”
Y/n gave him a look. “Why do you care so much what he does?”
“Yeah, Hyde. Why do you care?” Eric asked with a smirk.
Steven realized what he was doing and looked at everyone who was looking at him with furrowed brows. He straightened his posture and looked down at his lunch, clearing his throat. “I don’t. I just find it rather odd.”
“And if Fez does like me, what’s it to ya?” Y/n asked, cocking her head to the side.
“It doesn’t,” Hyde replied coldly, taking a sip from his iced tea.
Y/n lifted an eyebrow at him before finishing off her toast.
“Is there something going on between you two?” Red asked.
The couple stole a glance at each other before looking to Red.
“No, not at all,” Y/n replied casually.
“Why would there be?” Steven asked.
“I don’t know. You’re acting weird,” Red commented. “Stop it.”
Steven grinned at him. “Yes, sir.”
“Here’s your tea, sweetheart,” Kitty said, bringing over a mug of tea. “And I put in some honey, Honey.” She laughed at her own joke.
Y/n chuckled softly. “Thanks, Mom.”
“Oh, by the way, Sasha called for you yesterday,” Kitty said, sitting back down.
Y/n perked up. “She did? Why?”
“I’m not too sure. She wanted to talk to you about something, but I told her you weren’t feeling well. So, I took down her number and told her you’d give her a call back when you feel better.”
“Yeah, I’ll call her back once I can stop vomiting.”
“And yet, you’ve been able to achieve that this whole time,” Eric said sarcastically. “Must feel nice to finally be able to achieve something for once. Congrats, sis.”
Y/n glared at him. “If I could control it, I’d do it on you right now.”
“Okay, that’s enough,” Kitty cut in. “Finish your lunches.”
“I can’t. I’m going downstairs to watch TV,” Y/n whimpered.
“Okay. Don’t forget your tea!” Kitty called out.
Y/n turned back around and grabbed the warm mug between her cold hands and made her way downstairs. On her way, she grabbed the midol and the hot water bottle.
At this point, Steven was seething as he watched his girlfriend take Fez’s gifts.
“Alright, well, I’m heading out for a few,” Steven announced, quickly getting up. “Thanks for the lunch, Mrs. Forman.”
“Oh, you’re welcome, dear,” she responded.
 “Wanna come?” Hyde asked Eric.
Eric looked up at him. “What for?”
“Just come on,” Hyde pushed and grabbed Eric by the shirt, tugging him out the door.
“But I’m not finished!” Eric whined.
“You are now,” Hyde said before closing the sliding door.
“What’s with them?” Red asked.
“I have no clue,” Kitty responded, not caring. “They’re always up to something.”
Outside, Eric shoved himself out of Hyde’s grasp. “What the hell, man?”
“Get in the car,” Hyde ordered, unlocking the El Camino.
“What? No,” Eric said, standing in his place.
“Get in. We have to talk.”
Eric crossed his arms. “I have nothing to say to you.”
“Great. Then you can just listen,” Hyde responded standing in front of the driver’s side door, waiting for Eric to get in. His arm rested on top of the car casually as if not a care in the world. “You going to get in?”
“Why should I?”
Hyde groaned. “Just get in the car, man!”
“Are you kidnapping me?” Eric asked as he slowly made his way to the passenger’s side.
“Of course not.”
“You gonna take me to the middle of nowhere, take my clothes after you convince met to skinny dip in the lake, and abandon me while I walk around naked and afraid like last time?”
Hyde rolled his eyes. “I came back for you, didn’t I?”
 “Three hours later!”
“For the love of God, just shut up and get in the car!”
“It was so cold,” Eric whimpered as he slid in the front seat and shut the door. “Where are we going?”
“For a drive,” Hyde responded and backed out the driveway. Once they were on the road, Hyde broke the silence. “Listen, man. This whole thing between you, me, and Y/n has gotten way out of hand.”
“You don’t have to tell me.”
“What happened to you shuttin’ up and letting me talk?”
Eric sighed, making a face. “Fine.”
“Look,” Hyde began. “I know you’re pissed off at us for dating and going behind your back—”
 “And lying.”
“…Yeah, and lying about it. But I need you to know that everything I said is true. Y/n is the best thing that’s ever happened to me and when I say that I will do whatever I can to make her happy, I mean it. And this whole ending a friendship over it is stupid.”
Eric stared at Hyde in disbelief. “You’re serious about this? About my sister?”
“Yeah, man. That’s why I’m here talking to you,” he responded and turned onto the main road. “I know we could’ve gone around it differently, but come on man, what would you have done? You’ve been saying that we need to put ourselves in your shoes, well put yourself in our shoes. Imagine if Donna was my sister, but you really liked her. What would you have done?”
Eric was silent for a minute. “Well, we probably wouldn’t be friends considering you kissed her and tried to get with her.”
Hyde gave an exasperated sigh. “Man, will you focus?”
Eric thought about it for a second. “I guess I can understand that.”
“And I want you to know that I won’t disappoint her. I will take care of her and make sure she gets everything she wants and needs. I’m not going to be like the rest of my family and be a deadbeat and end up in prison. I will do good for her.”
Eric turned his gaze to him and suddenly felt an anchor of guilt settle in the pit of his stomach. “Oh, man. Look, Hyde when I said that…I didn’t mean it. I was angry and—”
“It’s fine,” Hyde said, cutting in.
“No, no it’s not,” Eric turned to face him. “It was wrong of me to say that to you. It’s just that…she’s my sister, man. My twin, you know? My favorite sister. I can’t help but feel, you know, maybe a little overprotective of her.”
“No, but you were right,” Hyde confessed and turned onto the highway. “I probably was headed down that path anyway. But being with her has actually made me want to be better.”
Eric looked at Hyde like he had two heads. “You look like my friend, but you don’t sound like him. Where’s Hyde?!”
Hyde chuckled and turned off the highway, noticing Eric calling him his friend. “I know. It’s sickening.”
Eric laughed and turned back around, facing the front. He noticed they were entering downtown. “Hyde…where are we going? This isn’t just a drive anymore.”
“You’ll see in a minute,” he said and continued down a narrow road before stopping in front of a super store. He turned the car off and sat back quietly. “Just so you know, this wasn’t easy for me to talk about it. So, if you tell anyone, I’ll deny the whole thing.”
Eric nodded and looked at Hyde seriously. “I’m still not happy about it, but I guess I don’t have a choice but to accept it. You two really do seem happy.”
Hyde nodded and looked down. “We are, man.”
“Just…don’t hurt her,” Eric said. “Then I’d have to kick your ass and then I’d end up getting my ass kicked and then Red will kick my ass for getting my ass kicked and then he’d hunt you down like a dog and then he’d kick your ass.”
Hyde sat there in stunned silence. “Wow…that’s…detailed. How long have you been sitting on this?”
“Pretty much since I found out.”
 “Wow.”
“Yeah,” Eric replied. “Also, one more thing. I don’t wanna hear or see you and my sister doing anything. The image of you two doing anything makes me want to hurl.”
“Deal,” Hyde chucked. “So, are we good?”
Eric looked at him for a moment and grinned. “Yeah, man, we’re good.”
Hyde nodded and the two boys lifted their hands, bringing each other in for bro-hug.
“Can I just ask you one question, though?” he asked.
Hyde hummed.
 “Why her? Why Y/n?”
Hyde sighed, shaking his head. “I don’t know, man. She’s different. She’s smart and actually funny, interesting, and genuine. Really sweet and cares about others beside herself. Besides, she’s smoking hot.”
“Well, I’d never thought I’d hear my best friend put my sister and ‘smoking hot’ in the same sentence,” Eric retorted and pretended to gag. “Really, really unpleasant.”
“I know. I just said that because I think it’s funny,” Hyde laughed.
Eric slugged him in the shoulder. “And every time you say stuff like that, you’ll get hit.”
They laughed lightly together before Eric slapped a hand on Hyde’s shoulder. “And, uh, don’t worry about my parents. Your secret is safe with me.”
“Thanks, man,” Hyde replied. “Well, let’s go inside.”
“Why are we at this one?” Eric asked, joining Hyde outside the car. “You know there’s like three different stores in town. Why this one?”
“Because this is the biggest one in Point Place and they have everything I want.”
 “Which is?”
 “You’ll see.”
As they entered the store, Hyde went for the first thing he saw: flowers. Specifically, half a dozen red roses. Then he went towards the freezer section, grabbing a pint of her favorite ice cream: mint chocolate chip.
 “Ice cream?” Eric questioned.
“I heard chicks really dig ice cream during their…problem time.”
“Yeah, Donna eats like four of those.”
“Damn,” Hyde sighed. “I’m, uh, I’m not very good at this. All I know is I want Y/n to feel better and I was kind of a jerk earlier.”
“Yeah, about that,” Eric piped up, browsing the ice cream flavors. “Why were reacting that way?” Eric’s eyes grew a fraction wider. “You were jealous, weren’t you?”
“What? No. I don’t get jealous.”
“You so did!” Eric laughed. “You hated that Fez bought all that stuff for her because you felt like a bad boyfriend for not thinking about it earlier!”
“You wanna get your ass kicked this early in the day?” Hyde threatened.
Eric continued to laugh at him. “Just admit it. You totally did.”
Hyde rolled his eyes as he found his way to the soft drink section and grabbed a few bottles of ginger ale. “Okay, fine, maybe a little. But he shouldn’t have been hitting on her. She’s my chick. I should be the one getting all the stuff she needs.”
“And that’s what you’re doing now,” Eric stated, looking around. “Is that why you brought me here? To help you find stuff that she would like?”
“No,” Hyde answered as they entered another aisle. He found a tin box of saltines and bent down to grab them. “I know what she likes; I don’t need you for that. I mainly brought you here so that we could sort crap out.” He picked up a box of assorted chocolates, something he knew she’d like.
“You trying to tell me something?” Eric smirked, causing Hyde to chuckle. “Don’t you think you maybe going a little overboard?” He asked when he noticed Hyde putting everything in the basket.
“Maybe,” he answered honestly and led Eric away from the grocery section. “I just want her to know that I care.”
“Well, she’ll definitely get that message,” the twin responded and noticed where Hyde was leading them. “Seriously? Condoms?”
“You don’t want me to knock her up, do you?”
“I’m still trying to accept you two and by you doing this in front of me is really bumming me out.”
Hyde laughed cruelly. “That’s kind of funny.” He quickly grabbed a pack and threw it in the cart. “Just don’t look at ‘em.”
Eric sighed and looked away. “What else are you giving her?”
 “Besides a good time?”
Eric dramatically screeched and squirmed. “Please. Stop. Saying. That.”
Hyde burst into laughter, laughing at his friend’s discomfort. “That will never get old.”
“You’re a sadistic son of a bitch, you know that?”
                                                   —Time Skip—
Y/n laid on the couch in the basement, wrapped up in a blanket, mindlessly watching tv. She was in and out of consciousness for the good part of the afternoon. Even though she was sick, she was still upset about her little dispute with Hyde.
When did he become so jealous? Why would he think that of Fez? And worse of all, why didn’t he trust her enough? It hurt, but she was more curious as of why. She could feel her stomach beginning to churn again as it was ready to bring back up what she brought down earlier.
Please, God, no. She quickly sat up, the room spinning for a minute, before she ran back to the bathroom and found herself with her head in the toilet. This had to be the forty-fifth time in the last couple of days of her spending time kneeling in front of the toilet, emptying the contents of her stomach into the light green basin.
She held her hair back as tears pricked the corner of her eyes. It hurt so much and all she wanted in that moment was just to stop. What in the hell did she catch that made her feel this violently ill? After she was sure she was done, except from the dry heaving, she wiped her mouth and flushed the toilet. She sat against it for a little while longer, wishing her stomach would calm down enough for her to get a good sleep in. She couldn’t help but let a few tears escape. Her back was hurting, her body was aching, and her throat was burning. And on top of all that, she started cramping earlier in the day and the pain hadn’t subsided.
“Y/n?” she heard from the basement living room.
She groaned in response and heard footsteps approach the door to the tiny bathroom. She twisted her face in pain as another surge of nausea reared its ugly head. Hyde appeared in the doorway just as he saw her turn her pale and tortured face into the basin once again. He could hear her whimpers through each retched gag.
“Awe, Doll,” he cooed and knelt down beside her, rubbing her back. He gathered her long hair in his hands and tried to look anywhere besides the toilet. He gently shushed her and reassured her that he was there now for her.
Once she was finished, she fumbled for the handle, and pulled down. Hyde handed her some tissues to wipe her mouth. She gratefully accepted it and sat up fully, leaning against the wall.
“What’re you doing here?” she croaked. “I thought you were pissed at me.”
“Well, that’s why I’m here,” he responded and helped her off the floor. He wrapped a protective arm around her waist and guided her back to the couch where Eric also sat.
“Are you here to fight? Because this isn’t how I envisioned our first fight.”
He gently sat her on the couch, handing her the blanket and chuckled. “No, that’s not why I’m here.”
“Then what?”
“Mainly to give you these,” he responded and handed her the roses.
Y/n’s face softened as she weakly grasped the flowers in her fists. “What’s this for?”
“An apology,” Hyde responded and took a deep breath. “I know I was a jealous jerk earlier and…I’m sorry, okay?”
She looked at him in the eye. “Why were you?”
“I don’t know,” he responded and rubbed his neck. “I just…I just didn’t like seeing some other guy bring you things that I should be bringing.”
She meekly set the flowers down on the coffee table in front of her. “Steven, do you not trust me?”
“What? Of course I do.”
“Then why did you act like Fez was going to hook up with me and I wouldn’t be able to say no?”
“No, it’s not that. I…I—can you hang on a second?” he turned around to look at Eric. “Can we get a minute?” he asked impatiently.
Eric’s smug look never left his face. “Sure. Doll.”
Hyde stood abruptly, intimidatingly. Eric laughed and ran upstairs.
Y/n knit her eyebrows together. “You guys are okay now or something?”
“Yeah,” he cleared his throat and sat back down. “That’s another story.”
Y/n nodded. “You were saying?”
“Look, Y/n, when I saw Fez jumping in to immediately take care of you, I guess it felt like I…wasn’t doing my job as your boyfriend. And then when you said it did bother you, I knew I wasn’t. And…that maybe what everyone thinks is true.”
“Which is what?” she pressed.
“C’mon, you’re really going to make me say it?”
 “Yes,” she responded sternly.
Hyde sighed and tore his eyes away from hers. “That…I’m not good enough…for you. There. Ya happy?”
Y/n sighed, giving him a sad look. “No,” she responded gently and grabbed his hand. “No, I’m not happy. You can’t think that. You can’t let Fez get to you like that and it really didn’t bother me that you didn’t jump up to help me either. I’m a big girl. I can very well go get the stuff myself.”
“So, you don’t mind?”
She smiled gently. “No. Yes, it’s nice if you did that stuff for me and trust me, I’d love it, but I’m not going to make you do it for me. I want you to want to do it for me.”
He smiled at her and kissed the side of her head. “I did get you some things though.” He leaned down and grabbed the white bag, laying out the contents on the table. “I got you some ginger ale and saltines to help you with the nausea and then when it passes, I got you some chocolates and ice cream to satisfy your cravings.”
The look of sweets made her stomach churn, but she smiled through it and leaned her head on his shoulder. “Thank you, baby.”
“You’re welcome,” he said quietly and kissed her head once more. He noticed that she was shivering and gently stood. “I’ll be right back.” He high tailed it to his room and brought back a sweater. “Here.”
She grabbed it gratefully and threw it over her head, inhaling his scent: musk and woodsy. He settled on the couch next to her as she cuddled his side. He grabbed the blanket and threw it over both of them.
“So, how was your day?” he asked her.
“Fantastic,” she responded. “I spent the day throwing up my body weight and writhing in pain.”
“Sounds like a blast,” he chucked.
“Oh, yeah, it was like a party in the toilet,” Y/n responded and chuckled when Hyde made a face. “How was yours?”
“Well, you know, it was fine,” he responded.
“You and Eric work things out?”
“Yeah. He’s still not happy about it, but he seems to—or trying to at least—accept it. I made him see the bigger picture here.”
 “Which is?”
“Us doing it.”
 “Steven!”
He threw his head back laughing. “I’m kidding.”
“You better be,” she said and reached over, grabbing the ginger ale. She laid back into his side and took a sip. She hummed and set it in her lap.            “Thank you, Steven. This is probably the best thing anyone has ever done for me.”
He smiled at her gently. “Anything for you, doll.”
“Awe that’s so cute,” Eric called from the staircase. “It makes me want to vomit.”
Y/n scowled at him. “What do you want?”
“Well, I wanted to talk to you,” he said and sat down in the opposite chair.
“You want to yell at me again?”
“No,” he responded and looked at the ground. “I’m sorry for the way I reacted. I know I was an ass and I should’ve handled it better, but c’mon, my best friend and my sister, hooking up. I never thought that this would happen and to say I was shocked is an understatement.”
“I know,” she responded. “But you still said some pretty hurtful things, Eric, and you can’t take that back.”
“I know and I wish I could. You’re my sister, the best one at that, and Hyde, you’re like a brother to me and I just…it hurt, okay? I can understand not wanting to tell anyone else, but to hide it from me? I felt like you couldn’t trust me.”
Y/n cast her eyes down, feeling guilt. “I’m so sorry, Eric. The last thing I wanted to do was hurt you. Lying to you wasn’t easy for me.”
“Then why did you do it?”
“How would you take it if we just straight up told you?”            “
Yeah, Forman, what would you have said if I straight up said, ‘I’m nailing your sister.’ I bet you still wouldn’t have taken that lightly.”
Eric shuttered at the thought. “Yeah, definitely wouldn’t have. But it still wouldn’t have been as bad as me catching you.”
Y/n looked at her twin for a moment before letting out a groan. “Dammit, I hate it when you’re right.”
“Yeah, and it’s not like I’m not going to kill you or anything.”
“Well, to be fair you did try to disown us,” Hyde defended.
“Okay, yeah, but I just didn’t want to look at you guys at the moment,” Eric said.
“But kicking us out of the group and the house was the logical answer?” Y/n squinted at him.
“Yeah, not my finest moment,” he agreed and sat down next to Y/n, causing her to shift over. “I’m really sorry, Y/n. I hope you can forgive me.”
Y/n looked at her brother, eyes getting all misty. “Only if you can forgive me.”
Eric smiled at her. “C’mere little sister.” He brought her in and hugged her tight.
Y/n reciprocated by wrapping her arms tightly. “I’m only two minutes younger.”
“Still,” he chuckled. “Besides, if I don’t forgive you, then I won’t have a sister anymore.”
“We have Laurie,” Y/n responded, pulling away.
“Do you really want her close?”
Y/n paused, pretending to think it over. “No, I really don’t.”
Eric chuckled. “Look, Y/n. I know I was a jerk, but you’re not only my sister, you’re my best friend and I don’t want anything to come between us.”
Y/n nodded, smiling and wiped at her eyes. “Me too.”
“I’m still not entirely happy about you two and to be honest, I’m not sure if I ever will be, but I want you two to be happy and if it’s you two that make each other happy, then so be it. I just don’t want to see any of it.”
“You got it,” Y/n responded, feeling lighter about the situation.
“I’m going to give you the same speech I gave Hyde,” Eric continued as Y/n’s eyebrows knitted together. “I’d never thought I’d have to say this to my sister about my best friend, but don’t hurt him. I may not be able to kick his ass, but I can for sure…try to kick yours.” As he was saying it, he knew it wasn’t true. Even if it was, he wasn’t going to do it anyway.
Y/n cracked a wide smile, a smile that she hadn’t been able to muster for the last couple of days, and nodded. “Okay, bro. That sounds fair.”
He turned to Hyde. “Just so you know, if you get her pregnant, I will have to find a new and interesting way to kick your ass.”
“Trust me, man, that ain’t gonna happen,” Hyde responded.
“Yeah, we’re careful,” Y/n responded, adjusting herself to be laying against Hyde. Her stomach and back were starting hurt again and she was desperate to find some relief. Hyde threw an arm over her shoulders, bringing her closer. “Besides, Dad would literally stick his foot in both of our asses.”
“And somehow, he’d still find a way to blame me,” Eric said.
“Hey, Y/n baby,” Fez called out, entering the basement. “How’re you feeling? You get my gifts?”
“Hi Fez,” Y/n greeted with a tiny smile. “I did, thank you. It was very nice of you, but I’m not feeling too much better.”
“Sorry to hear that,” he responded.
Y/n shrugged and snuggled deeper into Hyde’s side. “What’re you doing here anyway?”
“Just wanted to come by and see how you were feeling,” he responded.
“No, you didn’t,” Hyde spit. “You came here to see if she was alone, didn’t you?”
Fez made a face at him. “What’re you talking about? No, I’m not!”
“Yes you are!” he said and stood up. “Now, knock it off before I make you the first person to touch his chin to ass!”
Fez looked offended, placing his hand on his chest. “Have you been spying on me?!”
“Steven, honey, it’s not that big of deal,” Y/n said, trying to calm down the situation.
“Yeah, honey, listen to your lady,” Fez said, starting to get nervous.
“No, Y/n, he needs to understand respect,” he replied.
“I’m sure he gets it now,” Y/n said, signaling Fez to run now.
“No, he doesn’t,” he responded. “If he—”
He was cut off by the slamming of the door as Fez ran outside, away from him.
“He’s not getting away that easily,” Hyde commented before darting to the door.
“Hyde, no!” Y/n called after him. She jumped up from her seat, despite her stomach and head screaming at her.
Hyde ran out the door, causing it to slam against the wall. Y/n followed him out the door, ignoring the sudden faint feeling she had.
“Steven, stop!” she called again, her voice weakened and wavering. She could see Hyde quickly gaining speed on Fez.
Fez screamed as Hyde tackled him to the ground on the Forman’s front lawn. Eric was behind Y/n in a flash, watching the scene in front of him unfold. Hyde struggling to get Fez in a choke hold, Fez fighting to get out of his grip, and Y/n yelling at him to stop.
“Steven, enough!” Y/n shrieked weakly, her voice quieting as the world started to spin, the edges of her vision darkening. “Steven, please…”
Her vision darkened as she hit the ground, making the two boys suddenly stop to jerk their attention towards her. Eric dropped to the ground next to her.
“Y/n!” Steven shouted, letting Fez go and running over to her. “Y/n!”
And that was the last thing she heard before she was swallowed by darkness.

A/N: yay pt 2 enjoy!
MAIN MASTERLIST | CHEEK TO CHEEK MASTERLIST
“Her clothes came back with traces of bomb ingredients and she still has no memory of anything that happened to her or anything about this bomb.” Sam briefs the three of you.
It’s later in the day, now, about five in the evening when Sam gets word back from his agents.
“What if she was forced to make the bomb?” You find yourself offering.
Sam waits a moment while looking at you before he responds, “How sure are you that she didn’t do it?”
“Very.”
He sighs, “You were seeing German but my agents said she told them she doesn’t know a lick of any language other than English,”
“That she remembers.” Bucky interrupts.
“That she remembers. Sharon, I want you to look into German bomb manufacturers around here.”
Sharon nods and stands and makes her way out of the room. The three of you occupy a smaller conference room, about a third of the size of the one you were in this morning.
“I want to try again. With my visions. Maybe, with something from evidence.” You suggest.
“Are you sure?” Sam asks, more out of concern than of skepticism.
“Yes.” You reassure him. You haven't paid much attention to Bucky since Sam called you down just now, you find yourself getting a bit invested into the cases and wanting to solve it and figure out what happening, and you don’t want to let Bucky’s pretty face distract you. Such a pretty face it is.
You roll your eyes at that voice again. Being surrounded by so much information is kinda making your brain go haywire, you find. These voice haven’t bothered you since prison, only every once in a blue moon, but they’ve been non-fucking-stop since you’ve gotten on the case.
Makes for a good seat, too. “Shut up, would you?!” You yell, quickly realizing that you said that out loud instead of in your head. Embarrassment floods your body immediately and you look up to see both men staring at you in surprise.
“Uhm, sorry. It’s nothing, can I see the box?” You gesture towards the large brown box labeled evidence.
Sam plops it at your feet and you sift through the copious amounts of plastic bags until you come across a piece of fabric.
“It’s a piece of the dress she was wearing when she was found. Another piece was sent off to the lab which is where they found all those bomb-making chemicals on it.” Sam informs you.
You take a deep breath and remove the cloth from the bag and roll it around your fingers. You’re fingers grip it hard and feel it softly, trying to conjure up something, anything, in your head.
“It’s not a carrier,” You begin, the ship showing up in your mind, but your knowledge is foggy from when you were a Marine.
“Submarine?”
“Destroyer?”
“Cruiser?”
“Battleship?”
“I - I - don’t know… fuck,” You clench the fabric in your fists in an attempt to cease their shaking. All these ships look the fucking same anyway.
Not to the Navy, they don’t.
You ignore it and continue, “I - I - I see a man,” A whine escapes you as the emotion becomes overwhelming, “He’s bald and - and white and like forty? Maybe? Uh,”
You sniffle, “Prince, Prince, Prince, Prince, I don’t know why I’m seeing Prince.”
“Like the singer?” Sam questions.
Bucky gently takes the cloth from your hands, “I think that’s enough for now.”
You try to catch your breath and hastily wipe the tears that escaped your eyes. “I was a Marine, why can’t I remember the ship?” You ask more yourself than the other two people in the room.
Maybe it's all the crazy taking up so much space it’s gotta push some of the older info out.
Ignore. It.
“Cruisers are named after battles and destroyers are named after names, maybe Prince is a destroyer ship. I’ll have an agent look into all current operating ships and see if any matches come up. Barnes, go give Sharon the description of this bald white guy, see if she can use it to match with a bomb manufacturing place.”
“Yes, sir, Cap.” Bucky stands from his seat beside you and exits the room.
The two of you sit in silence, now; you’re not really sure what to do. Should you leave again? Wait until they need you? Stay? Make small talk with Captain America?
“Can I ask you something?” Sam interrupts the quiet.
“Sure.”
“Why are you so adamant about being here? You’re pretty good at this investigative stuff and I think you have a lot of potential for it.”
You give an appreciative smile at his compliment before answering, “I was a Marine for two years where I followed orders from assholes and worked alongside people that treated me like I was garbage. Then, I was kidnapped by HYDRA and tortured to comply working under an organization I didn’t want to with people who didn’t even treat me like a human being. And now, I’m brought here to live and work in a place I don’t want to be at with people who don’t and will never know who I actually am. So, you can kind of see why I’m adamant.”
Sam looks down, and you don’t want to make him feel bad, because he gave you the best scenario he could given the circumstances of everything.
“I just want a little bit of control with my life for once, is all. But, I know what I have now is very lucky for me, so I’m grateful, even if it’s not what I want.”
He looks back at you and now it’s your turn to give him a reassuring smile. You have a feeling you’ll grow on each soon enough.
You’re glad your powers didn’t fail you for your first case, because that would have been terribly embarrassing. Sharon was able to find a German bomb-making company with employees who have recently gone missing that match the descriptions of the man you saw and the Jane Doe.
Now that their identities have been found, there’s still the question of where this bomb is and if it’s even real.
You can’t help but let it keep you up that night. When you were doing jobs for HYDRA, it wasn’t a matter of making sure every rock was left turned over; you performed the job because the alternative was being tortured.
You glance at the clock, 1:32.
You remember one particular mission you didn’t complete because it involved you having to kill kids. And when you returned with an unfinished mission they tortured you so bad that you begged them to just kill you. And they said that they would never kill you because then the horrors would end. It was the easy way out; and they would torture you for the rest of time before they ever kill you. It was too much mercy to be shown to a prisoner.
Another glance at the clock that tells you only six minutes have passed causes you to get up. You can’t get too deep into your thoughts, especially if tomorrow is going to have you busy helping with this case. You have to make yourself busy.
So you cook. You go through the pantries and cupboards for ingredients; brown sugar, white sugar, eggs, flour, vanilla. You became very good at estimating and perfecting the things you wanted to cook. You never had a phone or laptop to look up measurements for something or a cookbook to follow, so you had to experiment yourself until you got it right. When you lived in your apartment, sometimes you would venture out to bookstores and try your hardest to memorize the recipes in cookbooks in order to replicate it at home.
You quietly mix together all of the ingredients until a thick dough forms. Cinnamon and brown sugar cookies. One reason you liked cooking so much is because, even though it was hard without any instructions to follow, it was one of the few times your voices were quiet. Actual silence. You cooked without any electric supplies or music for this reason, too.
You sit on the ground in front of the oven and watch as the balls of cookie dough slowly melt and rise up again, forming the perfect circular shape with the perfect amount of chewiness and crunch when you take a bite.
You softly unstick the cookies from the pan with a spatula and glance at the clock again. 3:02.
You remember Bucky’s words from this morning; how he sticks around for these kinds of missions in his spare room.
“Hey, F.R.I.D.A.Y.?”
“Yes, Agent?”
“Is… Is Bucky here?”
“Yes, Agent.”
“Is he awake?”
“Yes, Agent.”
“But, is he, like, awake - awake? Or like falling asleep, but still technically awake - awake? Or is he -”
“Would you like me to lead you to where his quarters are, Agent?”
The hallways are quiet, but you’re grateful that there are lights along the floors so you’re not completely walking through the dark. Seeing a sliver of dim light show underneath his door makes you feel a little better about the late hour. After about five minutes of contemplation, you raise your fist and leave three soft knocks on the door.
Bucky opens the door a few seconds later and seems wide awake. You see behind him a notebook open on his desk with some music playing softly in the room.
You speak before he gets a chance to, “I made too many cookies, do you want to help me eat them?”
A smile grows on his face as he silently nods after a moment.
“Hey F.R.I.D.A.Y., mind turning everything off, please?”
The lights turn off and the music stops as he closes the door behind him. The two of you quietly walk side by side back towards the elevator, because it seems like Bucky’s room is right below yours.
He wears a black long sleeve shirt and dark gray cotton shorts, paired with white socks on his feet. What you would do to add some color to this man’s closet, you think.
A cloud of sugar and warmth hits him in the face when he enters your room. The combination of your smell and the smell of cookies and the sight of you in cute little pink shorts and an oversized college sweatshirt that has a big bear on it and the yellow and orange polka-dotted socks on your feet and all of your things everywhere makes him feel like he just entered his dreams.
“It smells amazing in here.” He compliments.
He watches you smile and grab the pan that has since cooled enough for you to grab it and walk over to plop down on your bed. Bucky follows and sits himself down utop one of your soft fuzzy blankets.
“Are these brown sugar cookies? These are my favorite,” Bucky says as he shovels one in his mouth whole.
I know they’re your favorite.
“Mmm - almost feels like I’m back at your apartment.” He smiles nostalgically, looking around and taking in the wonderful colors of your personality that brighten up this room.
“Good, means I did a good job redecorating. It’s okay that I did decorate, right? There isn’t a security deposit I’m going to lose?” You joke, and for a moment, it really does feel like the two of you are back in your apartment, before all of this chaos hit the fan.
The two of you eat and eat and eat, sharing playful small talk in between bites, until the two of you are  stuffed to the brim with dough and are laying side by side on the bed, empty tray by both of your feet.
“Hey, Bucky?” You ask out into the calm, open air.
“Mmm,” He hums.
“I’m sorry for spitting on you. And then avoiding you. And then yelling at you and saying those awful things,” You turn on your side and lay a hand on his arm, “I didn’t mean it, I was just upset.” Your eyebrows quirk up at him, silently begging him to forgive you.
He sends a playful smile at you before mirroring you and turning on his side as well to face you, grabbing your hand from his arm and holding it in his large one, “It’s okay, doll. I would’ve been just as upset as you if I were in your position. I’m sorry things didn’t… work out the way they should’ve for you.”
“Not something you gotta apologize for, Bucky.” You whisper.
The two of you lay there, hands intertwined in each other, eyes locked. You’re not sure how long the two of you lay like that, or how long Bucky stays, but sleep finally comes to you at 4:55 in the morning.
The next few days pass in a bit of a blur. One of the private hackers was able to get a list of ships in communication with the found German bomb-manufacturing company and Sharon was able to find one of the ships, named The Princeton - which is why you kept seeing something about prince in your head, not because of the late musical artist - which was having a scheduled bomb test aboard. A bomb testing that was swapped with real bombs instead of fake ones, seemingly by the man you saw in your visions, the same one who tried to bury Jane Doe. All of the Marines aboard remained safe and unharmed, and you officially closed the case on your very first mission.
Sam thought you did very well, but still wanted to keep a slow pace with your advancements on the team. He set up for you to train with him a few times a week in a private training room, and perhaps with the next set of agent trainees Bucky will be tasked with at the beginning of the year in a few weeks.
With the mission being completed, Bucky returned home to his apartment to sleep and stay until he’s called once again for another mission. He kind of… can’t wait? After Steve retired, he didn’t see a big reason to continue with all the fighting; he didn’t really see a reason even before Steve retired when he was still staying in Wakanda. He enjoyed that quiet lifestyle, tending to his gardens, feeding his sheep, cleaning up around wherever he could, talking to those that lived around him, hanging out with the children. It was paradise for him.
But now, with you around, actually around where he doesn’t have to hide you from his closest friends, the prospect of more missions doesn’t seem all that horrible. Maybe it’s the thought that you’d be around him that makes it more bearable for him, or maybe he’s just simply had a change of heart over time.
He finds himself returning more and more to the tower when he doesn’t have to; finding the smallest excuses to go - sometimes he doesn’t even run into you when he does. But he tries to.
He’s roaming around the open gym, opting for thirty miles on the treadmill instead of out and around his neighborhood, panting a bit while he wipes down the machine before leaving to go work with the weights. He feels a tap on his shoulder and he turns and plucks a headphone of his ear, coming face to face with an old trainee, now trained agent.
“Nuñez, what’s up?” Bucky greets him with a rough shake of the hand. Don’t get him wrong, he was a fantastic soldier to train, and he turned out to be an even more fantastic agent. But he has no idea why he’s talking to him while he’s in the middle of a workout.
“Hey, Sergeant, sorry to bother you. I - uh, I was wondering if I could talk to you about something?” He stutters out.
Why is he so nervous?
Bucky urges him to continue with a nod of his head.
“So, uh, I wanna ask you something, y’know, man-to-man, rather than Sergeant-to-Agent, and - and - feel free to tell me if I’m overstepping with this! I just didn’t - didn’t -”
“Spit it out, Nuñez.”
“Okay, okay. Remember the last briefing we had?”
“It was about five days ago, yes, I remember.”
“Right, right, of course. Well, there was… this girl sitting next to you.”
A part of Bucky freezes and he hopes he’s talking about Sharon.
“Agent Carter?” Bucky asks.
“No, no, not Agent 13. The other girl sitting next to you. Black hair, kinda short.” He tries, but Bucky knows exactly who he’s talking about.
“What about her?” Bucky tries to turn on a bit more of his Sergeant voice, anything to end this conversation because he has a feeling where it might be going.
Agent Nuñez pasues, “Well, uh, who is she?”
“Why?”
“She’s pretty.”
“She’s pretty?” Bucky repeats.
“Yeah. I wanted to know who she is, I haven’t seen her around and I don’t remember her from any of the trainings.”
“She’s a new agent in training, she’s being trained under the Captain.” Bucky tells him.
“Oh… What’s her name?”
“Nuñez! Enough with the twenty questions!” Bucky bursts out, because why does he have such a fascination with you? It’s like he wants to -
“I just wanna ask her out or something, but I don’t know anything about her!”
“Well, that sounds like a good reason to -” Bucky stops himself when an idea comes into his head, and before he can think twice about it, he’s speaking once more,
“Actually, I just remembered, Nuñez. She’s taken. She’s in a relationship. So, yeah. Sorry.” Bucky slaps a hand on the Agent’s shoulder for good measure.
“Oh… that sucks. It’s always the pretty ones that are taken, huh?”
“Yeah, buddy. Anyway, see you later!” Bucky breathes out, desperate to get out of that conversation and just continue with his damn workout…
Why did he just lie like that in order to stop a guy from asking you out?

The futures priceless babe
TW: alcoholism, abusive parenting, panic attack
Ethan Green was 16 the first time Lex put eyeliner on them. It had always been a long running joke between the two of them that Lex would have been a hot dude and Ethan the prettiest girl. So they had put Lex's hair in a ponytail under a hat and given her a fake emo dude fringe. She'd laughed her ass off and taken a whole bunch of shitty pictures before turning to Ethan and saying "Your turn".
They'd protested and tried to wiggle away but Lex, not one to give up easily, had pinned them down and to the best of her ability drawn shaky eyeliner on them. They'd complained the whole time but then something on Lex's face changed and they stopped.
"Holy shit Ethan, I know this was a joke but you look really good"
"You're kidding me. Me? Look good? In makeup?"
"See for yourself"
Lex pointed at the small mirror above the sink and Ethan went to look.
"Holy shit". Lex was right, they did look really good in makeup. They looked different. But a good different. And it made them happy in a way they couldn't explain.
Later that night, when they were back in their own house and the eyeliner had been safely washed off to avoid endless questions from their dad, they did some googling. They learned a lot that night and fell asleep happier than they had in weeks.
They come out as non binary a week later.
---
The second time was different. It had been about 6 months since then and nothing had changed. Lex and Hannah came round a lot, school was boring, they smoked, they laughed, things were normal. Ethan pretended not to notice that both of them were getting thinner. They pretended not to see the bruises in the places Lex would only show to them. It was an unspoken rule between them that no one talked specifically about what was going on with their parents. It was always "mum's a bitch" or "dad's being difficult". But they couldn't ignore it when Lex and Hannah showed up at their place at 3 am in the pouring rain.
Ethan had smuggled them inside, being careful not to wake their dad and sat them down in their room. Lex was frantic. She was all over the place, not speaking in full sentences and pacing around Ethan's room like she was trapped.
"Lex. Lex. Lex!" She spun round to look at them. "We don't have to tell me what's going on if you don't want to but please calm down. Come sit on the bed, I'll get you and Hannah some clean clothes and then we can talk, yeah?"
She just stared at them. Hannah was sat in the corner biting on her chewy necklace harder than they'd ever seen, staring into space with tears rolling silently down her face.
They didn't know what to do.
Luckily for them, Lex still had half a brain so she got Hannah her blanket and a pillow from Ethan's bed and laid her down on the floor where she was. Hannahs sniffles quickly turned to snores and that seemed to settle Lex a bit. She turned back to Ethan.
"I'm so sorry" She came over to sit next to him on the bed. "Mum.. she.. I thought she was going to try and kill us E. She was so angry. I've never seen her like that before. She's usually... well she's usually a dick." Lex gave a sad laugh before continuing "But tonight was something different. She accused Hannah of stealing her vodka and I just couldn't stay there with her yelling and throwing shit and I had nowhere else to go and I'm so so sorry"
Ethan stared at her. "You have no reason to be sorry. That's.. god Lex I don't even know what to say. How can I help?"
"Hug me? Please?"
So they hug. And the hug turned into cuddling, which turned into spooning and Ethan was almost asleep when Lex says
"Ethan. Is that an eyeliner pencil?"
That woke them up like nobody's business. They'd completely forgotten about it amongst all the chaos but they'd bought it yesterday and had been wanting to try it for themselves.
"Um.. yes?"
"Why?"
"Why what?"
"Why is the sky blue. What d'you think? Why do you have an eyeliner pencil?"
Usually Ethan would be embarrassed beyond belief but Lex is smiling and after today that's such a relief that they just go along with it.
"..to do eyeliner"
"On you?"
"Yeah"
"Oh. Okay"
There's a moment of silence before Lex speaks again.
"Do it for me?"
"What?"
"Put it on. I wanna see you in it."
Something about that gives Ethan butterflies, though they'd never ever admit it. So they do. It's their first time putting it on so they're shaky and it comes out wonky but the look on Lex's face is worth it. For a split second she absolutely melts, her face just lights up and she looks at Ethan like they're the prettiest person on the planet. They feel their face go red and suddenly feel very exposed and awkward. They laugh through it and call her a dumbass for wanting to see them in eyeliner at a time like this but deep down they're so happy.
Lex pulls them onto the bed and their heart is racing but she just says "I may be an idiot but you do look good in eyeliner". They fall asleep cuddling and Ethan wakes up the next morning with panda eyes and (after much teasing from Hannah) learns the importance of makeup remover.
---
It's been a year since Lex and Hannah moved in with Paul and Emma. Emma teaches Lex how to cook something that isn't pot noodle and Paul and Hannah just seem to get each other. It's basically the perfect life for them. Ethan is trying very hard not to be jealous but it's really hard when at the end of a day of being part of a happy family, they have to come back to a quiet house that smells of dust and is full of anger and fear.
That's when they start drinking. They know it's wrong. They know but they can't help it. It starts off as a one off thing. One evening they've just had enough of everything. They know they should call Lex but it just hurts to see her living the life that they so desperately want. It's selfish. It's ridiculous. They don't care. So they drink. And it helps. To start with it really helps. They're a lot happier because they know they have an out. If things get too much they'll have a few (or more than a few) beers and it goes away. But then they start to want it more. It's almost constant. The need is just sitting there at the back of their brain. 'This would be more fun drunk' 'god this class is so boring, gin would help you make it through' 'ugh god Paul shut up and let me get home so I can get blackout'. That's when they know it's out of their control. And it freaks them the fuck out. But it's okay because they can still hide it.
Until one day Lex shows up unexpectedly. She lets herself in as usual and comes up to Ethan's room. She knows something's off as soon as she walks in. The lights are off, the curtains are shut and Ethan is lying on their bed. To start with she thinks they must have just been tired and fallen asleep until she steps further into the room and trips over a bottle. Her heart stops.
"Lex"
"Ethan" her voice is shaky "What is going on here"
" 'm sorry lex. 'm not your mum, promise"
She turns the light on. Their room is a tip. The floor is covered in dirty clothes, the underneath of their bed is full of bottles and their bed clearly hasn't been changed in months. But it's how Ethan looks that scares her the most. They're lying almost fully naked in their bed. Their skin is pale and their hair is greasy but that's not what's making Lex tear up right now. They've taken their eyeliner pencil and drawn all over themselves. Circled ever scar, every bruise, every place that they've been hit. They're covered.
The rest of that day moves like clockwork, robotic and stiff and uncomfortable. Ethan doesn't remember any of it but they're later told by Lex that Paul and Emma came over. They took them back to their house and sat them in the shower. Lex says that they tried to drag them to bed but they kept wanting to apologise to Hannah. They cried the whole time.
---
Ethan has been sober for 3 months and every day they are more like their old self. Lex and Hannah start to trust them again and it feels good. They have bad days of course but on the whole they're doing a lot better.
One day Lex invites them over to hers and the whole family sit them down. Paul speaks first.
"Ethan. We know you've struggled in the past but you've been doing really well as of recently. We're all very proud of you." Everyone agrees and Ethan starts to tear up. "We've discussed it as a family and we want to adopt you"
"What Paul is trying to say" Emma chips in "is that if you want to move in with us you're more than welcome to. We can't officially adopt you because you're 18 but if you want to get out of your house, god knows I'd want to, you can do that here."
"You're serious?" Ethan looks at Lex in disbelief but she just grins and nods at them. "Absolutely"
"Holy shit. Holy shit! Yes oh my god yes, please!"
Lex leaps at Ethan and tackles them into a hug. "You don't have to say please you dumbass"
Over the next couple of weeks they slowly sneak Ethan's stuff out and move it into Lex's room. The night they officially move in, Hannah gives Ethan a makeover to celebrate.
---
They woke with a start. Rain was hammering against the window and the thunder was almost constant. Ethan froze. They'd always hated storms ever since they were a little kid. Something about them just made them stressed. Now they're shaking in fear at this fucking storm and Lex is right there. She's never seen them like this before. They start to panic. There's so much happening and the storm is outside and they don't want Lex to wake up and what if Hannah hears them crying and-
They feel Lex's hand on their shoulder. Without meaning to, they curl into an even tighter ball and start sobbing. They'd hoped Lex would never see them like this, it's so fucking embarrassing.
"Ethan"
They can't even look at her. She pauses, figuring out what to do.
"E, please, focus on your breathing. In for four, hold for four, out for four. Like you do with Hannah when she's struggling. Can you do that for me?"
Ethan still doesn't move but they do what she's saying and soon they've calmed down a bit.
"There we go that's better. Can you look at me?"
They shake their head. Thunder crashes again outside and they flinch. It clicks in Lex's head.
"Oh! Is it the storm that's bothering you?"
Ethan almost starts crying again but nods. "I'm sorry" he mutters "it's stupid"
"Hey" Lex laughs gently "It's not stupid at all. C'mere, lie down. It's just a storm it's not gonna hurt you"
Lex grabs Ethan's new eyeliner and doodles on their arms to calm them down like Emma does for her when she's having a bad night. Later on, Ethan will remember what it was she drew and get a tattoo of a tiny little hand drawn house with two little stick figures in the garden.
They lie together in the dark for a while. Every time there's a roll of thunder Ethan scootches closer to Lex until they're basically spooning her. She turns round so they're face to face and even though the storm hasn't calmed outside, all Ethan can think about is how close she is and the feel of her breath on their neck and they want to kiss her so badly it hurts. So they do. And she kisses back. And it's not perfect because Ethan is still half crying and Lex is way too eager but they're both so happy. They fall asleep that night with Ethan's head on Lex's chest, listening to her heartbeat. Ethan never worries about another storm again.
---
The day they move into their own apartment makes them both cry. Emma tells them about a thing her sister used to do whenever she moved house and they decide to do it together, the whole family. They get out sharpies and Ethan uses their eyeliner and they write on the walls of the living room. Dreams, hopes, wishes, memories they never want to forget and moments they want to last forever. They all cry and laugh and at the end of the day they sit on the floor and eat cake in a room full of boxes and love. Ethan draws a love heart on each of them with the eyeliner and none of them rub it off.
One day Lex will put eyeliner on Ethan on their wedding day and Hannah will call them both pretty. It will be one of their favourite memories, but that night, falling asleep with each other in their new apartment. That's the happiest they've ever been.

Burned Chapter 15
Roy had been expecting a call in the wee hours of the morning. Even if there wasn't any news on the case, just an update, something- from Hughes.
They'd gotten home around midnight. Ed had grabbed a brief shower- it'd taken awhile to scrub the dirt and blood off himself, Roy had assumed- but the boy had made an appearance in the kitchen, looking cleaner, but exhausted.
He'd managed to coax the boy into drinking half a cup of tea- with a splash of milk disguised by copious amounts of honey- before convincing him to head upstairs, because it was investigation's department, and there was nothing he'd be able to do anyways.
Roy had fallen asleep downstairs on the couch, waiting for the phone call from Hughes that never came. He woke up at 3:13am with a sore back from falling asleep slumped over. He slogged upstairs, still just as exhausted and frustrated as when he'd fallen asleep.
He noticed a light creeping under the door of the other bedroom- Al's room- and he frowned, lightly knocking on the door.
"Come in." Al's muffled voice replied.
Roy did. Al was seated in the center of the room cross-legged, various research reports and open books spread out on the floor around him.
"Is everything okay, Colonel?"
"Yeah. I was just heading to bed and noticed the light was on. Wanted to make sure you were alright." only now, it was dawning on him that Alphonse didn't sleep. When he'd first begun staying at Roy's home, he'd turn his lights out at night, but as he'd grown more comfortable, he'd taken to quietly reading and doing small tasks at night.
"Oh yes, I'm fine. Colonel... is brother okay? I saw him when he came in- he was covered in blood. And I know he's not hurt, but he wouldn't talk to me about it. He just went right to bed. He only keeps things from me that are bad. Horrible, even. Because he doesn't want to upset me. But I notice. This has something to do with the ladies that keep getting killed, doesn't it?"
Roy sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. How was it he always underestimated Alphonse Elric at every turn? When he'd first met the boy- an eleven year old with a soul trapped in a suit of armor who passed the written state alchemist's exam- to now- the perceptive child sitting on his floor, reading during the day and night because it was physically impossible for him to sleep.
He was too tired to come up with a decent lie. And besides, the way those quiet soulfire eyes bore into his own, he knew Alphonse wouldn't believe it, anyways.
"Yes, Alphonse, it is. Hughes and I have been trying to keep your brother out of it- but tonight he found a body. Hughes is handling it. In fact- I'm expecting a call from him anytime now. If the phone rings and I don't get it- will you get it for me?"
"Of course." Alphonse sounded much cheerier at this- he just liked to be kept in the loop, Roy realized. Knowing Ed, he tried to shield Al from anything not related to them getting their bodies back- he felt the military issues were his cross to bear, and his alone. It wasn't true- Alphonse was more than willing to help his brother- but Ed felt it was his responsibility, his duty, as the older brother to keep Al away from such things.
Still, that wasn't a problem he could solve tonight anyways. And with Alphonse awake and ready to answer the phone, he was free to go to bed. The day had been exhausting.
"Thanks. Goodnight, Alphonse."
"Goodnight, Colonel."
Roy quietly shut the door behind him and started towards his room. He was about halfway down the hall but stopped past the door of Ed's room when he heard a muffled whimper. He paused, sighing, before he palmed the door open and stepped into the darkness quietly. Ed was curled beneath the blankets, but after a day as hard as this, it wasn't hard to see the kid was probably going to have nightmares.
Ed was wrapped in the sheets, his blond hair strewn about behind him on the pillow. His hands grasped at the sheets and he squirmed slightly in his sleep, a half-sob half whimper breaking the quiet of the night as his legs twitched restlessly.
"Easy, Ed. It's alright, buddy." Roy picked his way over beside the bed, his earlier exhaustion forgotten.
In the early days, when Ed had first been healing here, he'd learned that during nightmares, speaking to Ed could calm him down adequately. He understood the fear of being in the dark and alone- hearing someone talking to you made the darkness less lonely, and not nearly as terrifying.
"I know. You had a real rough day today. We all did. But you the most, probably." Roy was beside the bed, now, and he reached over, gently brushing the boy's bangs away from his face. Ed's breathing had slowed slightly, and his face was no longer screwed up in distress, though he was still breathing fast and his fingers still worried the sheets slightly.
"You did good though. You were scared- I know you were scared- but you stayed calm. Calmer than me, in fact. When I saw you come in covered in blood- I thought I was going to faint. I was scared I'd lost you all over again."
Roy paused mid-way to brushing Ed's hair from his face, realizing his hand was shaking. He took a deep breath to steady himself before he continued, reaching down to gently brush Ed's golden locks aside, more as a gesture of affection now than to be able to see Ed's face.
"I'm proud of you, Ed. Of how far you've come- you've always been a brave, stubborn little brat- but seeing you grow up into the alchemist I knew you could be- I never knew how rewarding that'd be."
Ed let out a long breath- he was no longer panting anxiously. Roy cracked a slight smile. Ed was relaxing- yet again it was proof that just talking to the boy was enough to calm him down. With Ed's face relaxed, he wiggled his toes beneath the blankets and shifted slightly, snuffling into the pillow. it was cute, almost. Roy couldn't help but smile. Ed looked so much younger while he slept.
He pulled out the chair he kept in the corner of the small bedroom, sitting down heavily and blinking.
"You don't have to be so strong you know. You're only a kid. You don't have to hold the weight of the world on your shoulders. I mean, I understand trying to protect Al, but you're human- you're just a kid. You aren't alone. You have me. And the team. Just... try not to be such a hero, kid. It never got me anywhere."
He sighed, leaning back in the chair. The weariness that'd been slowly stalking him overtook him once again, settling deep into his bones. He'd just rest his eyes for a moment, and then head off to his own room for the night...
"Hey. Hey Roy, wake up! Hey!"
"Brother, you really should be nicer..."
"This IS nice Al! I made him toast! I don't just do this for anyone!"
Roy peeled his eyes open to see Edward, clad in black jeans and a loose-fitting T-shirt, with his hair in pony tail and a plate full of toast in hand, with Al behind him in the doorway.
"Besides, he's the one who fell asleep in my room!"
"...in my house." Roy groused, reaching up to scrub an eye with one hand. The crick in his back felt much worse, now.
"You're awake!" Al chorused, sounding pleased.
"Eat this toast. I made it myself cuz you pretty much died in the chair."
Roy opened his mouth to yawn, only to have a piece of toast shoved in his mouth. He started coughing.
"Brother!" Al scolded.
"What? I'm feeding him breakfast. That's what you're supposed to do!"
Roy coughed, spitting out the toast slice in one hand and swallowing the bite in his mouth.
"Yeah, it's good. Chewy, though..."
"That's cuz I put peanut butter on it." Ed beamed. "We're out of bread, by the way." he looked a little sheepish.
Roy frowned, becoming more awake by the second. "Why do I smell smoke?"
"We put out the fire!" Alphonse chimed in, trying to be helpful.
"Don't tell him that!" Ed protested.
Roy frowned. How was it 2 alchemist protegees couldn't make toast without nearly burning his house down?
Still, he had bigger things to worry about. "What time is it?"
"Noon. You pretty much died in the chair, like I said. And Alphonse found a cat, and I don't like it, but he put it in the living room anyways."
"It was raining! I couldn't leave it!" Al protested.
"Wait, noon!?" Roy was stumbling to his feet.
"Yeah."
"What about that phone call? Did the phone ring last night? Did Hughes call?"
"Nobody called except Hawkeye. She said we could stay home from work today cuz she heard about what happened." Ed took a bite on his own piece of toast, frowning.
"Of course she did." Roy made a mental note to thank her later, stumbling into the hallway and into his study and going for the phone. It was nearly noon, and Hughes hadn't called? Something was up.
He dialed the familiar number and waited.
"Detective Hughes here." Hughes sounded half dead.
"Hey." Roy tried to keep the irritation out of his voice. "I was expecting a call from you. Maybe not news, but just an update of some kind since last night."
"Sorry. I haven't been home. I've been chasing leads."
"All night?" the silence on the line and the lack of cheer in his friend's voice confirmed his guess to be true.
"I have to solve this, Roy. This guy- whoever he is- made a mistake. The killing last night- was done by the theater where a political rally was being held. All those spectators watching- someone had to have seen something. There was a sign in sheet passed around, I've been interviewing. We're on interview... 87? Of approximately 150. I can't talk long- one of the candidates who was giving a speech, Susans- she's coming in soon."
"You need help. You've been up for nearly 24 hours straight, you have too many leads to handle and you're not thinking clearly. I can be over there in half an hour..."
"No. You need to stay and keep an eye on Ed. I don't want him involved in this. We're close to a break, I can feel it..."
"Hughes..."
"I can feel it Roy!" Hughes snapped, and Roy paused. Hughes wasn't one to shout normally.
"How can you be so sure?"
"Because... the killer's been too rash. He made a mistake. Ed said the victim's pink purse was left behind at the scene. When my team got down there, there was no purse."
"Whose to say robbers didn't just take it?"
"They would've taken the money. Our victim was a school teacher, and she'd just been to the bank. The clerk remembered her cashing her paycheck. And we found it. All 174 cens of bills in that alley. Crumpled up and bloodstained, but all there. They just. took. The purse."
Roy frowned, turning the fact over in his mind. "But if Ed saw it..."
"Then the killer came back and took a souvenir. Between the time Ed found the body and before investigations arrived, the killer came back for a memento."
The phone receiver clattered to the desk as it slipped from Roy's fingers and his blood ran cold.
Whoever the hell this sick bastard was... he'd come back for a souvenir.
Ed hadn't seen the killer, but perhaps he'd still been there, lurking in the shadows, waiting for a moment to strike while Ed had been close by.
Roy picked up the phone again, trying to calm his racing thoughts. Once again, Edward was lucky to escape alive.
"So someone has to have seen it. 143 spectators. 3 Politicians. 14 staff. Someone saw something. Our killer is boxing himself in. I can find this, I just need Ed safe with you and out of the picture..."
"At least let me send Hawkeye. She can help you. Don't tell me you couldn't use a 2 hour nap and some more manpower, because that's a lie and we both know it."
Hughes sighed. "Yeah. Sure, send her over, but keep Ed safe. He was there last night- the killer might've been there, Roy. Watching him."
"I know."
"This killer has been getting more aggressive. I don't want his luck to run out."
"Understood. I'll have Hawkeye and some staff drop by. When you get a break- call me. Okay?"
"Okay. Thanks, Roy." Hughes sounded exhausted but grateful.
"Take care of yourself, Hughes."
Roy hung up the phone and sighed. He was anxious for a break in the case too- the case had become too personal. Part of him resented not being able to go and help himself, but when he thought of Ed being anywhere close to this lunatic again, he knew why it was important to keep away.
"Mow?"
A ball of orange fluff jumped up on the desk next to him and started to rub his arms and purr.
"What the hell!?"
"That's Iggy." Ed frowned, crossing his arms and looking up at Mustang with distaste. "That weird ass cat Al found. I don't like him, he's shifty."
Roy looked down. The cat was rather bedraggled looking, and it's eyes were lopsided, looking in two different directions. It was kind of unnerving.
The cat started to purr like a motor, pawing at his hand and begging for pets. The cat was also drooling.
"Oh yeah. It might have rabies. Hughes have any news on the case?"
"No. Nothing yet. And you're not involved in the case anyways."
Roy frowned, picking up Iggy the cat and setting him on the ground. The cat promptly fell over like a drunk, sprawled out on the rug, and fell asleep.
"Right. When you find him, I want to help hunt him down."
"Ed. No."
"It's personal now!" Ed stomped his foot. "Like it or not, I AM involved, and I'm not gonna sit around like some useless child!"
"I never said you were a useless child. But we could use you elsewear."
"Yeah? Like where?" Ed raised an incendiary eyebrow.
"Here. Helping me figure out how to vote in this damned election this afternoon. And helping Gracia and Elicia. Hughes hasn't been home from the office in awhile, I'm sure Elicia could use a hand with the shopping and you and Al can help with Elicia."
There was a small poof as Iggy the cat farted himself awake before promptly dozing back off again.
"And also- we gotta find somebody to adopt this cat."
There it is, folks! An OC kitty!

My watch dogs 2 headcanons
Sitara:
Aro/Ace (not just because she wears the flag colors lol)
Dedsec is a big queerplatonic relationship for her. She loves all the guys so much and would kill for them, but as soon as someone mentions her fucking one she kinda just *vomit emoji*
Hyper protective of kids. After the mission with her niece she dedicates at least 10 hours a week to developing software to protect kids on the internet/root out pedos
Hardcore listens to nature noises while she paints/sketches
Fantastic at calling people out on their bullshit. She does NOT let the guys get away with anything demeaning/sexist, even by accident. To their credit, they always apologize and try to do better
Loves weird/facey tea flavors. One time she brought back a bbq boba tea and everyone else gagged.
Knows everyone’s triggers and actively purges them from Dedsec feeds before the others can see
Crazy wine aunt vibes. Will care for you when sick, but will roast you for how you acted like a baby after.
When she gets panic attacks, she needs weighted blankets. Like, enough to break a few ribs. Wrench sat on her once. It actually helped.
Loves She-ra. Hacked the studio to watch the eps being made and yelled at the screen like a banshee the whole time. The boys were very afraid.
Horatio:
Actual only straight person in the group. The butt of so, so many jokes.
He, like Marcus, LOVES fashion. While he can’t wear what he wants all the time due to his undercover persona, he buys fashion mags like nobody’s business. Can name his ten favorite designers off the top of his head.
A little bit very OCD, though you can’t tell by looking at him. Ratio is very anal about what goes where. Everyone knows not to go near his station in the hackerspace.
One time Wrench knocked over his desk (nearly destroying his rig) and Ratio’s stuff went flying. Wrench almost had a guilt meltdown. Luckily, Sitara had a picture and they managed to put everything back almost exactly. Almost.
Stress cleans. When his undercover stuff is really getting to him, he’ll kick everyone out of the hackerspace and just. Clean. For hours. When they’re allowed back in you could eat off the floor.
Since he can’t be around all the time, he gets little gifts for everyone and leaves them at their stations to show that he’s thinking about them.
Wrench:
We been knew that the boy is suicidal, but he’s manic-depressive bipolar as well (also not shocking)
ADHD
Self medicated with every kind of drug out there.
Marcus and Josh eventually beat him down enough to take Meds That Are Actually Helpful. Sitara mediates. It was A Process.
All of his fingers are broken from one thing or another, it made him really self conscious when he Marcus and Josh started dating. He didn’t like holding hands because he felt his were ugly.
Texts solely through emojis like fucking hieroglyphs. Half the time nobody knows what he’s saying. He has no intention to stop. It drives everyone nuts.
Likes to be the middle spoon, with Marcus as the big and Josh as the little
DO NOT let him consume more than three cups of coffee. He will not sleep for days.
The first few weeks of sleeping with Josh and Marcus he doesn’t take his mask off. He’s terrified. Finally, they manage to get im comfortable enough to do so and his boyfriends have a great time kissing every inch of his face. He laugh-cried from relief.
He and Marcus have terrible hacker movie night. They watch cheesy hacker moves and laugh at how bad everything is.
Squishy toys help relax him when he’s having a bad manic episode or an anxiety attack.
Josh:
Also hardcore ADHD
Somewhere on the autism spectrum as well.
Marcus’s first gift to him as his boyfriend was a chewy necklace, since he needs his hands to hack. It actually helped more than he thought it would.
Most of the time he totally forgets he has it, though
Unironically enjoys black and white television. He’ll have I Love Lucy running for audio while he’s working. Sometimes he even turns on the blind narration.
Horatio and Marcus switch off on making him blind narration eps. They have a ball with it.
Lists. Lists. Lists. This boy has a timed checklist for almost every day. His phone will ping and won’t stop until he Does The Thing. When he’s really in the zone and doesn’t hear it everyone at Dedsec kind of wants to kill him.
Sometimes Marcus and Wrench need to tag team who coaxes him into the shower and who does his laundry while he’s distracted because this boy is a fucking disaster. They both fucking hate his green hoodie.
Must Hack. There is nothing else But The Hack.
Will crack if you say enough bad puns. It’s really the only humor he can get behind
When he does his happy stim (flappy hands) everyone at Dedsec just does from cuteness overload
Loves slow, lazy kissing in the morning or right before bed. It’s the only time his brain slows down enough to really enjoy it before he goes into work mode
Marcus:
He and Ratio have the deepest discussions about fashion. They both lose their minds at John Boyega and Orville Peck
Marcus loves to shop! He drags Wrench and Josh with him for opinions, though neither of them really care they love how happy it makes him. Sitara is his real shopping companion, she Knows what looks good on him.
He’s the only neurotypical person in Dedsec. Boy was THAT and adjustment. Marus spent months after he joined reading up on everyone’s conditions and how to best help. He feels like a pro now, but is eager to learn. He stayed updated on all medical research.
Marcus works with Sitara to prepare little emergency ‘fit-kits’ as they call them, for everyone. He can pull them out when someone’s having an episode and help them through it.
It can be a struggle to make sure both his boyfriends are on their meds and keeping themselves healthy, but he’s happy to do it. Marcus can take almost anything life throws at him
Organizes hack offs within the group just to show off, basically. The only one who has beaten him so far is Josh.
Josh isn’t into clubbing, so Marcus and Wrench party hard. When they come home they binge one of Josh’s old shows until all three fall asleep on the couch.
Tasers pedos and rapists on sight, unless he’s on mission.
He goes back for them after
Terrified of motorcycles but loves weird cars.
He’s jewish and keeps a menorah at the hackerspace. Everyone loves to help him celebrate.

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE
Most new parents are a wreck trying to learn how to take care of their tiny humans. You enjoy it though, the crying and changing the dirty diapers. You couldn’t be happier right now. Although, if Kylo could be here with your tiny family that would make everything perfect.
The doctors ordered you to stay overnight in the med bay for a few days. Thankfully the twins are pretty docile in the middle of the night. A nurse droid helps you take care of them, mostly because one of your arms doesn’t work and you can’t take care of them both at the same time.
Rey, Finn, and Chewy come to visit you. Rey’s upper arm is bandaged up from the graze of Kylo Ren’s lightsaber. She gives you a tight hug then Finn and Chewy join to make it a group hug.
Rey coos over the little babies, they’re so much more active now with their eyes open too. Rey holds Ani and Finn scoops up Ellie. They take turns until Chewy, he holds them both in his fuzzy arms.
You can’t help but think about Poe. He must feel so guilty and honestly, you are upset with him. Who wouldn’t be?
The trio can’t get enough of the babies. Especially Chewy, he speaks softly and quietly around them. He definitely has grown an attachment to them both. You know they’ll love him as they grow up.
Rey walks up to you as Finn infatuates over the twins in Chewie’s arms. “How are you? Are you doing okay?” Her hand comes up to touch your uninjured shoulder. You glance at the babies then sigh, “Yeah, I’m doing good.” You smile wide.
Your eyes go to the bandage on her upper bicep, “How’s that feeling?” You tilt your head to make a gesture towards it.
She looks down at her arm then back at you, “Better. I barely notice it’s there.” She laughs.
Leia comes into the conversation, saying something about how you need to get your own bandages changed and it’s time to go. You hug everyone as they leave, seeing the twins are now in their cribs sleeping.
Your last night in the med-bay is going to be easy, you’ve gotten into a routine now. Thankfully the nurse droid is coming with you to your quarters tomorrow to continue helping out until your arm is healed.
Just as you’re getting changed into a new hospital gown after a shower and bandage change, everything goes silent. The droid is tying up the back of the gown so it doesn’t slip off your body. You quickly dismiss it as you look around for him When your eyes meet his, you smile so big. Tears are already threatening to spill onto your cheeks, it hurts to see him.
You take large steps towards him and he instantly pulls your body into an embrace, his back quivers gently and you can tell he’s getting emotional but he’s trying to hold it back. Your fist grips the fabric of the long-sleeved shirt he’s in as you silently cry into his chest.
He lets out his emotions too, he’s sniffling and his chest is shaking every time he takes in a deep breath. His hands are holding onto your body like he never wants to let go. His face is hidden in your shoulder, your wet hair tickles his face. You can tell he’s crying.
It’s like an unspoken passion between you and him. You miss each other so much. You wish you could be with him right now with your children.
He slowly begins to pull back, his face is red and his eyes are wet. You bring your hands up to his face, your palms rest on his cheeks and your thumbs wipe under his eyes. His eyes closed as he leans into your touch, “Come see your babies.” You mumble out, his eyes open to stare at you and a smile erupts on his sad face.
You grab his hand to pull him over to the cribs, their sleeping faces are so precious. He glances between you and the babies, “We made these cute kids?” He laughs, his hand goes up to their faces to touch their soft skin.
“What’s their names?” He asks, his eyes never leave their faces. “Ellie and Anakin.” You lean into his side. He looks down at your face in shock, “Like my grandfather?” He asks, getting choked up again. His arm lays across your shoulders to pull you closer, his head falls as his bottom lip quivers.
“Kylo...” You croak out with a frown, you bury your face into his side. “I’m just happy. I’m so... happy.” He says with a voice crack, he clears his throat.
“Me too. I want to be with you.” You mumble into his side, but it’s muffled.
“What did you say?” He asks, he has an idea but he wants to hear you say it again.
“I want to be with you... and our children on a peaceful planet where they can grow up and we can grow old together.” You lift your face as you spoke, although your eyes are trained on the ground.
“You don’t know how badly I want that too. But this war, I need to stay in it. I’m the leader of the First Order.” His voice is tough now. His hand moved to your cheek to pull your face up. You just nod, you know it couldn’t happen until the war is over.
The nurse droid beeps behind you, “Time for bed.” The robotic voice speaks out, Kylo and you turn your heads to look at it. “Is that who keeps you company now?” He almost laughs but he holds it back.
“Who is this?” The droid asks as it walks over to you both.
“This is their father.” You look up at Kylo then back at the droid.
The nurse droid looks between you both then the babies, “The boy looks like him.” It speaks. It doesn’t recognize him as an enemy, thank the stars.
The droid then proceeds to back up and tend to your hospital bed, folding the sheets back so they are ready for you to climb in. Your hand reaches up to Kylo’s face, your thumb runs over his scar as you stand up on your tippy-toes slightly to kiss him. “Come sleep with me tonight.” You say against his pink lips.
Kylo nods and smiles as he pulls away and lifts you up easily. He walks over to the bed, laying you down in it before climbing in with you. “I won’t be here in the morning.” He says as he wraps his arms around your waist to pull you closer.
“I know. I just want to lay with you for a little. Like old times.” You yawn, laying your head on his chest practically on top of him as you close your eyes. You listen to the gentle thump of his heartbeat, it feels like he is actually with you as you fall asleep.
He was right. When you wake up, he isn’t there. Your legs are tangled in the hospital sheets, your arms are wrapped around a pillow. The droid is already tending to the children, feeding Ellie while Ani coos in his nursery bed.
You slowly sit up and stretch, making a weird noise which made the droid turn to look at you. “Everything okay?” It asks and you nod. You gently slip out of bed, your slippers are lined up so you put your feet into them.
As you make your way to the crib, you can’t help but smile. Ani’s hat is off and his hair is wavy, thick and dark. You lean over the crib to kiss his little belly over his clothing, then you kiss his neck and smell his baby scent.
You gently pick him up after swaddling him, supporting his neck as you rock your body back and forth.
Rey appears behind you and watches how you both interact. “It’s time to go home to lil babies.” Her accented voice speaks.
A human nurse rolls a wheelchair up behind you, a bag hanging on the handle full of your belongings. You sit down in the leather seat as the droid transfers Ellie and Ani into different cribs with wheels.
You wish you could hold them both but your other arm is still in a sling. Rey proceeds to wheel you out of the med-bay.
She wheels you down different hallways until you come upon the door where you have been living. You take a deep breath before Rey rolls you in. Everything is normal like how you left it.
The droid rolls both the bassinets into your room next to your bed and begins to unload the baby supplies and put them on top of your dresser.
You stand up once you’re close enough to the bedroom, waddling over to make sure Ellie and Ani are okay. You take another deep breath as you look around, everything is becoming a reality. It’s a bit surreal.
The droid folds your clothing and puts it away for you in the drawers. “Thank you.” You tell them and it nods.
Rey comes up behind you, her hand clasps yours in support and she gives you a sympathetic smile. “It will be okay. I promise. If you want I can stay the night. I’ll sleep on the floor.” She looks at you then at the droid who was looking at her.
“I really appreciate it, Rey. I think I’ll be okay though. I got some help.” You laugh as the droid goes back to its job. Rey nods then look back at the door. A fist knocks on the already open door, your eyes instantly widen. It’s Poe.
Rey steps back from you but doesn’t leave your side. “Is it okay if I come in?” His deep voice speaks. You slowly turn yourself around to look at him.
His dark hair is disheveled, sunken eyes and quite a bit of scruff has grown on his face. He hasn’t shaved. He was in some sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt with slippers. He looks a bit rough.
You nod, gulping as he takes a step forward. “Look, I just want to say how truly sorry I am. I didn’t want to lose my temper like that. Especially hurting you in the process. I didn’t want any of this to happen.” He looks down at his feet in shame.
You look over at Rey and you nod at her so she can give you guys some space. “I’ll be outside.” She sighs as she slips past your bodies.
Your arm comes up to squeeze his bicep and he looks up with tears in his eyes. “Poe. I’m not happy about what happened but all I can say is that my babies are okay. That’s all I care about right now. My arm is healing and it hurts but I’m okay.” You smile softly, “I forgive you.”
Once those words left your mouth, his jaw quivers as he holds back his emotions. You pull him into a hug with your arm, he’s gentle as he wraps his arms around your waist instead of your shoulders to look out for your wound.
You comfort him but rubbing your hand up and down his back, his hands grip your lower back as he buries his face into your neck. His tears are wet against your skin, sniffling as he pulls back to look at you.
“Wanna meet them?” You ask as you grab his hand to pull them over to their cribs. He looks over the babies, gasping in awe as he stares at them. “They are so beautiful.” He sighs happily. “I’m proud of you. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there for you.” He backs up and runs his fingers through his knotty hair.
The droid is in the corner of the room preparing bottles for when they wake up later. “It’s okay.” You yawn then smile at him. “I should go. I’ll let you get settled.” He pats you back softly before he leaves the room.
Rey takes his spot to explain what she’s doing today and how she’ll come to check up on you between breaks. She leaves you alone with the droid then Ellie wakes up.
She softly coos then it turns into a cry. Your head whips around as you scurry up to her and scoop her in your arm. The droid hands your hand in the sling the bottle so you could feed her yourself.
-
Your day goes by quickly, you nap and the droid takes over and then you take over with its help of course. Rey does come to check up on you and to bring you food. You obviously tell her that she doesn’t need to wait on you but she ignores it.
You miss Ren. Your heart is aching to see him again, to see him hold his children in person. You don’t want to turn your back on the Resistance but they turned their back on you first when they left you on Crait. Suddenly, the memories come flooding back into your brain. All of the pain and anguish you had to endure during your time as a prisoner. Kylo is your hero. He saw potential in you and he took a risk to take you under his wing. Why did the Resistance leave you to die?
The droid interrupts your thoughts and you ease back into reality. You didn’t even realize tears were freely falling down your cheeks. “Are you okay? I can call for help.” The droid goes to push a button on its chest but you stop it. “No-no-no. No need for that. I’m okay. Just wrapped up in my thoughts.” You nod in reassurance.
“Just thoughts.” You sigh as you focus in on your sleeping children.

A Remarkable Christmas  1b/8
Chapter Two
Christmas Morning
It’s Christmas morning and Scully is playing Santa before she and Mulder take the time to spend the early morning together.
Tumblr media
Mulder jerked in his sleep, a snore escaping as he did, and Scully grinned. She knew he would not wake when she left the bed. Regardless, she got up quietly, pausing at the door to be sure he was still asleep before she left the room. When he did not move, she smiled again and walked down the stairs.
Heading straight to the kitchen, she let the Christmas tree be her only guiding light. Trying to be as quiet as possible, she took out the ingredients needed for pancakes, humming softly to herself as she mixed up the batter, readying it for the morning.
Covering the bowl with plastic wrap, she placed it in the refrigerator, and took out the pack of strawberries. She rinsed and cut them, still humming as she heard Bella move around in her bed, whining softly in her sleep, then breathing deeply once again. Smiling, she finished her task, placing the bowl of cut strawberries beside the pancake batter, and cleaned up the mess she had made.
Turning around, she looked at the room full of decorations and shook her head with a smile. All of it was so beautiful and while it was a lot, Mulder had been right, they had needed every item from the bins. The new ones had been added and Faith had loved all of them.
She took a strong liking to a wooden gingerbread girl that had big green eyes, long brown braids and a sweet happy smile. It was like the pumpkin at Halloween; carried everywhere and brought into her bed at night.
“God, she’s really going to be a hoarder isn’t she?” Scully had groaned and Mulder smiled with a nod.
“We’ll get an extra shed for all the things she finds important: leaves, rocks, notes from friends, schoolwork…”
“Mulder, please stop. I… I feel itchy just thinking of the mountain of stuff we will have if we get an extra shed. You have enough crap in this house and out in the shed already. The basement too, Mulder…” She had moaned and he had given her a sheepish grin.
“Okay, okay. No extra shed,” he had laughed, pulling her close and keeping her in a tight hold. “We’ll just have to put up a storage system in her room.” She had tried to get away, huffing in mock exasperation, but his grip had been too tight. He had kissed her, causing her knees to go weak, and she had forgotten about anything else but the taste of that kiss.
Shaking her head once again, she walked over and listened as she stood at the bottom of the stairs. Hearing him snoring lightly, she knew she had time to carry out her surprises.
Stepping into the office, a place that had not been used in a long time, she bent down and reached under the overstuffed chair to take out the wrapped gifts she had gotten for Mulder. Knowing he would have found them in any closet, on purpose or accidentally, she had hidden them under the chair, knowing he would never think that was where they would be.
It was just a few gifts, but she knew he would love each of them. Placing them under the tree, she walked back to the office and opened the closet door and took out the gifts for Faith from Santa: a small dollhouse, little chunky bodied dolls, and a doctor's kit which would be used properly and not in any naughty manner, as the one had in the past.
They had also gotten her some clothes, a couple of stuffed toys, and a new green fuzzy blanket with black alien faces on it. Faith would not understand the day, nor all the gifts, but they would.
Taking the wrapped gifts first, she set them beside Mulder’s under the tree. Going back to the office, she made two trips to set the unwrapped Santa gifts in front of the tree. Standing back, she smiled, thinking of all the parents who were doing the same thing tonight; adding magic into their child’s life.
She thought of her parents and how it must have been to keep the magic of Santa alive for four children of different ages and temperaments. Thinking of her youth, she remembered the happiness of Christmas morning; coming down the stairs, the rainbow colored lights of the tree so beautiful and calming, the pile of presents which had appeared in the night, and the smiles on her parents' faces as they opened them.
Sighing contentedly, she went back into the office one last time, took out the bag of stocking stuffers and walked over to the stairs. A new stocking had been added this year; a red and green one, smaller than the others, with a black paw print and the name Bella written in gold inside of it. Mulder had insisted on it, of course.
Into Bella’s stocking, she put a pack of bones, some treats, and a new chewy ball on which to gnaw. Faith’s stocking received some puffy snacks, a squishy snowman, and a small plastic snow globe which held Rudolph and Clarice together in the woods. Into Mulder’s stocking went a small bag of sunflower seeds, a new penlight, and a Sasquatch family magnet for the refrigerator. She smiled as she added that, knowing he would find it very funny.
She stared at Jackson’s stocking and sighed, the familiar tug of sadness pulling at her heart and settling into her stomach. Not knowing him, not really, she decided that she would add a letter to him every year at Christmas, telling him of what had transpired over the year. The likelihood of him ever reading them was low, but she thought that if he actually did, he would see that his presence had been missed.
Putting her letter inside the stocking, she patted it and took the plastic bag to the kitchen and put it away. She set the table, readied the coffee, and placed their mugs by the pot. Nodding as she looked around, she smiled. Walking past the snow globe, she turned it over, and set it down, watching the snow falling silently inside.
After it settled, she walked up the stairs and slipped back into bed, seeking warmth and cuddling close to Mulder. He mumbled in his sleep and put his arm around her, drawing her closer. Smiling, she felt her breathing match his and she fell asleep.
_________________
“Scully! Scully, wake up!” She heard him saying softly in her ear. “Scuuulllyyyy… come on, wake up.” She moaned and he laughed, the motion felt within her own body, at the position they were laying.
“Mulder…” she sighed and opened her eyes, discovering it was still dark outside. “Mulder! It’s not even light out yet. What is our Christmas rule?”
“We get up before our girl so we can have our Christmas first, at least for as long as we can before she wakes us up. Come on, I’m pretty sure Santa has been here,” he said quietly, holding her close and kissing her neck.
“Mmm, okay. I’m up,” she sighed, as she stretched, not exactly sure she was ready to leave their warm bed.
“Good. Let’s go!” He jumped out of bed and she gasped at the cold air that entered and then laughed at his excitement. She moved a bit slower, having been up later than he had.
She used the bathroom and brushed her teeth as he waited for her in the bedroom. With a sigh of finally, he handed her her robe and some socks, already wearing a zip up sweatshirt himself, and waited impatiently as she put them on. Reaching for her hand, she smiled and stopped him, leaning up for a kiss.
“Merry Christmas, Mulder,” she whispered and he kissed her again.
“Merry Christmas, Scully,” he whispered back. “Now come on!” They laughed quietly as they went down the stairs and into the rainbow lit living room.
Bella shook herself awake, standing up and stretching, her tail wagging as she saw them. “I’ll take her out,” Mulder said, opening her crate and clipping on her leash.
Scully stopped by the stockings on the way to switch the coffee on, taking out the bag of Bella’s chewy bones, and then walked over to the tree, waiting for them to come back inside.
“Mulder,” she whispered, with a smile and a shake of her head, when she saw that a four piece alien family had been added to the dollhouse family.
The door opened quietly and he shivered as he and Bella came back inside, shutting the door behind him, and taking off his coat and boots.
“Smells like it might snow again. We could keep that white Christmas after all, or it could end up being far too warm and it all melts away… that’s climate change for you.” He unclipped Bella and she ran over to Scully, licking her good morning as she bent to pet her.
“Merry Christmas, Bella,” she said, rubbing her soft ears. Bella wiggled and licked at her nose and Scully laughed, opening the package of bones and giving her one. She took it and ran over to her bed to chew on it.
“Mmm, that coffee smells good,” Mulder said, as he walked into the kitchen.
“I saw your addition of gifts to the ones from Santa,” Scully said, joining him by the coffee pot.
“I don’t know what you mean, Scully. I didn’t add anything. What’re you talking about?” he asked innocently, pouring and preparing their coffees.
“Nice try,” she said, taking the mug he offered to her. “That has your name all over it.”
“I seriously don’t know what you mean. It must have been Santa and the magic of Christmas,” he said with a smile and she grinned back. “Come on, let’s open gifts!”
She laughed as she followed him to the couch and set her mug on the coffee table. Walking over to the stockings first, she reached to take Mulder’s down, when she saw that an additional letter had been added to Jackson’s stocking. Her eyes filled with tears as Mulder came to stand beside her.
“I liked the idea, and I wanted to add my own letter to him as well,” he said softly, putting his arm around her. She nodded, squeezing his hand on her shoulder and reached again for his stocking as he reached for hers.
Looking at him quizzically, he shrugged. “I told you, Santa must have been here.” She smiled as they set the stockings on the coffee table and he continued over to the tree, gathering their gifts for each other.
He set them on the coffee table next to their stockings and sat down beside her on the couch. Looking over at her, he smiled and reached for their coffee mugs, handing hers to her. Clinking their mugs, they sat in the silence of the room, staring at the tree.
“I think we should do this as long as we can, take this time for us,” he said quietly and she nodded. “It’s not about the gifts, as neither of us needs anything, but this quiet before the Christmas morning truly begins, I enjoy spending it with you.”
“Good thing you married me then, huh?” she teased and he laughed, nodding his head.
“Okay! Open your stocking!” he said, setting down his mug and taking hers, putting it back on the coffee table. He picked up her stocking and laid it on her lap.
“This feels heavy,” she told him, lifting the stocking and finding it was quite hefty.
“Santa must have known you’ve been a really good girl this year,” he said with a shrug.
She smiled and reached inside, finding a handle of sorts, and frowning. Pulling out the item, she discovered it was a compact black umbrella and she chuckled softly. Remembering many days and nights spent under one like it, she turned her head and smiled at him.
“Open it,” he said, smiling back.
“Open it? Inside? And risk the bad luck?” she asked, astonished at his suggestion.
“It’s a superstition that I don’t believe in, Scully. Open it.” Smiling, she undid the Velcro strap and loosened the umbrella, pushing the button to fully open it.
“Oh, Mulder…” she whispered, holding it above their heads and looking up. While the outside may have been a plain unassuming black, on the inside it was as yellow as a sunny day. “It’s beautiful.”
“To remind you that the gray skies won’t be around for long,” he said softly and she sighed, meeting his eyes and smiling.
“I love it. Thank you.” She kissed him as he took it from her, closing it up again.
“Keep looking,” he said and she reached in the stocking again.
A dark chocolate bar and a pair of socks with flamingos in Santa hats. Laughing, she set them aside and picked up his stocking, handing it to him. He dug in excitedly, exclaiming over the items he found, jumping up to put the magnet on the refrigerator.
Coming back to the couch, he handed her another weighty gift. “Your turn,” he smiled and she ripped the paper off of the package.
“Mulder…” she said, lightly touching the book he had given her; a copy of Shakespeare’s sonnets.
“It’s not exactly a first edition or anything, I mean I do want our daughter to go to college one day." He laughed and she smiled. “But it is old and I knew you would like it.”
“I love it. Thank you.” She flipped through it and read one of her favorites out loud, smiling as she closed it. “Okay, your turn. The middle one in your stack.”
He smiled as he took the one she said, tearing open the paper and lifting the lid from the box. Inside was a new pair of black gloves. He tried them on, nodding appreciatively.
“I foresee many snowmen being built in our future and I felt it best you were prepared,” she explained and he chuckled.
“They’re perfect, thank you.” Taking them off, he handed her the next gift with a huge smile on his face. She narrowed her eyes at him and he pushed it closer to her, bouncing slightly as he bit his lip and grinned.
“Oh, I’m a bit nervous,” she said, holding the small box in her hands. She tore the paper carefully at the edges, as he chuckled softly. Ripping the paper off completely, a white box sat on her lap and he huffed.
“Open it!” he demanded with a laugh and she did so slowly, lifting the lid carefully. “Oh my God, Scully, you’re killing me.” He rubbed his hands up and down his thighs, sighing loudly as she giggled.
The lid off, she pulled back the green tissue as slowly as she had opened the box and he muttered menacingly under his breath. When she had finally opened the tissue, her eyes nearly popped out of her head.
“What in the hell is this?” she asked, staring at the shirt that lay in the box and then at him. He grinned wider than ever as she looked back at the shirt, taking it out of the box, completely speechless.
It was a white shirt with a black box frame in which a gray smiling alien was centered, a red heart near its left cheek. Underneath the pictures in white typewriter font were the words: He abducted my heart, with a black arrow pointing to the right.
“Isn’t it perfect?” he laughed and she opened and closed her mouth, not sure what to say. “Wait! You haven’t seen the best part.”
“The best part? Does it also glow in the dark?”
“Ohhhh, that would’ve been good, but no, it’s this.” Unzipping his hoodie, he showed her the shirt he was wearing underneath.
“Oh… my God, Mulder,” she breathed and then burst out laughing.
His shirt was black with a gray box frame, the same alien, but with the heart near its right cheek. The words written underneath were black and in the same font, but they said: She abducted my heart and the arrow pointing to the left, was white.
“Huh? How perfect is this?” He pointed back and forth between them and she shook her head, taking off her robe and putting it on over her long sleeved pajama top.
Holding it out, she looked down at it and then at his. “It’s the most perfectly ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen." She laughed and he nodded as he looked at them together.
“It absolutely is, no question. Which is exactly why I had to buy them, it’s the perfect gift. I think I beat you, my gift is best.”
“I wouldn’t go that far,” she said with a laugh. “But it’s a good around the house only shirt.” He looked shocked and she stared at him. “Mulder, no way I would walk around wearing this outside.”
“Would it change your mind at all, if I said I also have one for Faith?”
“What?!”
From his sweatshirt pocket, he pulled out a light green shirt. A black box frame held two larger alien faces and one smaller one, two small red hearts under its face. In white letters it said: I’ve abducted both of their hearts.
“Mulder,” she whispered, taking the shirt from him, and scrunching her chin. “I love this so much. But the answer is still a firm hell no.” She looked at him and he laughed with a nod, admitting defeat. She leaned over and kissed him, thanking him for her gift.
“Open the top one now,” she said with a grin, knowing what was inside of course, and realizing it would be a bit of tit for tat after her gift.
He laughed as he took the two teal colored bags with the large orange fox on them, out of the box. Black acorns, leaves, and swirled designs were drawn on the bag. In white letters, interwoven between them, were the words Stay Foxy.
“I thought you might enjoy using something with your own name on it so as not to rely on Bob all the time,” she teased and he laughed again.
“So, I’m supposed to take these to the store and other places, use them, but the shirts are too much?” he teased back and she laughed.
“One hundred percent. No one knows your name unless you choose to tell them. These shirts are very cute, but we’re not a matching t-shirt family. At least not in public.” She smiled and he nodded.
“I know. I’m just teasing and perfectly happy to wear them here.”
“Of course, Faith’s is pretty cute…” She shrugged and he grinned.
“I’ll convince you yet,” he whispered, and she laughed, shaking her head. “Okay, you’ve got one more.” He handed her a large, thin envelope sized package and she gave him a curious look.
Sliding her finger under the tape, she opened the envelope and pulled out the contents. It was printed information about a vacation home in Martha’s Vineyard. A small bungalow right on the beach had been rented for a weekend in the middle of January. He had included pictures of the town and an itinerary that did not exactly appear to include Faith.
Looking at him questioningly, he smiled. “Skinner and Rachel have agreed to watch Faith for that weekend.” She raised her eyebrows at him and he nodded, his own eyebrows raised.
“Wow, that’s…”
“I know. We’ll have some alone time…”
“I was thinking more like that’s a big step for them,” she mused, looking at the papers again. “I’m both elated and completely terrified.”
“I’d say that is the general consensus, judging by the amount of phone calls I’ve had from Skinner." He laughed and she sighed.
“I love this, and it might sound crazy, but I’m happier they will be having the time with Faith.” She looked at him and he raised his eyebrows.
“I did add amazing sex to the itinerary, didn’t I?” He took the papers from her and searched through them. “Yup, it’s here in bold, so it’s definitely a top priority.” She laughed as she took the papers back, seeing where he was pointing, and had indeed written amazing sex in bold.
“Thank you, Mulder. This will be wonderful. For all parties involved.” She set the papers down and held his face in her hands, kissing him softly. His tongue licked at her lips and he pulled her easily onto his lap.
“Hmmm… you have one more gift,” she murmured against his mouth and he kissed her again, nearly causing her to forget, but she wanted him to have the gift before Faith woke up. “Okay, let's pause this for later, I want you to open the last gift.” Kissing him once more, she climbed off of his lap and stood up, shaking her head, smoothing her hair, and breathing hard.
“Sure I can't persuade you?” he asked, looking rumpled and delicious. The desire to continue what they started was strong, but she had planned this and Faith was due to wake up very soon.
Turning around, she picked up his gift and handed it to him, sitting on the coffee table, instead of the couch. He looked at it and then at her.
“Open it,” she said softly, and he began to do so carefully. She watched him as he opened the box, feeling nervous about how he would feel about the gift and the idea that had been knocking around in her head.
“It’s a journal,” he said, and she nodded. “A really nice journal… but I… I’m sorry, honey…”
“I’ve been thinking,” she said quietly, taking the leather bound writing journal from him and thumbing through the blank pages. “I know you started the journal for Faith, and I love it, but I’ve been thinking about something else.” She looked at him and he smiled, waiting for her to continue. “You should write a book, Mulder. A children’s book.” He looked shocked and she laughed softly. “Hear me out.”
She handed the journal back to him and took a deep breath. “You’re an amazing writer, always have been, and I think you should take the stories of our cases, and put them into a children’s series.”
“Scully,” he said with an incredulous laugh. “They are hardly stories for children.” She smiled and nodded, knowing full well that most of the cases would not classify as child friendly.
“So, you change things a bit. Make it funny or just a little scary,” she said with a shrug. “I know it’s sometimes easier to type away on the laptop, but for me, there’s something about seeing your own handwriting filling a book with ideas that seems to make it real.” She looked at the journal and opened it to the first page, where she had written an inscription.
He looked down and read it out loud. “For the beginning of your journey. Write it down. Put it in a book. Love, Scully.”  He raised his eyes to hers and she smiled, remembering the last time she had said those words to him.
“I know you can do this,” she whispered with a smile. He stared at her and then closed the journal, setting it beside him and pulling her into his lap again.
“Thank you. I love it and I love you,” he whispered as he held her close.
“I love you too.”
A cry from upstairs broke the silence of the room and she pulled back, kissing him softly and leaving his lap. He picked up the journal and stood beside her with a smile.
“I think this will be a great idea,” he said, looking into her eyes.
“I know, that’s why I got it,” she teased him, and he laughed as Faith cried again.
“You wait here, I’ll go get her,” he said, and she agreed. “Oh!” He turned around and grabbed the alien shirt for Faith, kissed Scully’s laughing mouth, and ran up the stairs two at a time.
Smiling, she looked around the room once more, taking in its beauty. She heard Mulder speaking to Faith, telling her about the shirt he was putting on her and how much Mama truly loved it.
Shaking her head, she looked down at her own shirt; at the gray alien with a red heart, and she smiled.
He abducted my heart.
Yes, he surely had, she thought with another smile, as she heard them on the stairs, and Mulder announced they were coming down. Excitement bubbled in her stomach as she waited, ready to experience the wonder and excitement of Christmas through the eyes of her daughter.
________________________________________________
Oh, I just love them happy and being normal and loving. I hope you enjoyed this story. My friend Cheyenne created the picture of the shirts mentioned in the story. I saw that and HAD to add it to as a gift. It is SUCH a Mulder type of gift.
Also, I saw the bags Scully gives Mulder in Michael’s during Christmas time, when the world was still normal.... I had to include that as I think she would enjoy teasing him with something like it. ❤️
Here’s a picture of the shirts in case anyone was curious about them. Well, the ones Mulder and Scully wear anyway. Faith’s was not a part of it until I added it into the story. 😊👽

semi-plotted fixit starter for @cracked-kyber-crystal | let me know if you’d like me to change anything.
The galaxy rejoiced around the young jedi. Darkness had receaded and people were happy. Life had won, at least this time. Balance was restored. Across the galaxy people took to the streets, voices raised in happiness and joy. With the death of Palpatine, the darkness had really fallen, and even those who weren’t sensative to the force could feel it.
But there were two people who felt the loss of life that it had taken to get to this point. Upon the young Jedi’s return to the Resistance Base, she’d been greeted by her friends, who had pulled her into a hug and she hadn’t been able to deny the relief that they had survived, but it wasn’t enough. But it hadn’t taken long for a familiar and comforting figure to pull Rey into a hug, and pull her away from the celebrations. Leia had lost everyone at this point. Everyone but Rey, Chewie and the droids, that was. Rey felt her greif, and instinctively tried to hide her own.
Just because she was ripped in half didn’t mean she wasn’t needed. So her loss was shoved aside to help Leia, who was tired, so tired. She could feel it. They had brought peace and balance to the galaxy after fighting for Leia’s entire life, but at a cost. One that Leia seemed to wish she had never had to pay. Rey assured her that Ben had found the light at the end, that he’d found his way home. Whether Leia noticed her voice catch at that was debatable.
But it only took a few days for Leia to seemingly recover. Rey could still feel her sadness, but it was tempered. Rey wondered how she did it, not aware they both were excelent at hiding what they truely felt, if only to protect themselves from the pain of loss. And Leia had dealt with even more than herself.
Still she felt herself growing more isolated. As the Resistance shifted towards rebuilding the Republic (oddly not so much with Leia’s help but distant guidence) Rey felt... too alone to care. This was worse than Jakku, it wasn’t a lonliness that she could pretend would go away when her family returned. He wasn’t coming back. That was the point of dying. And it hurt. She had to focus not to touch the edge of where he’d been. The pain of it was often too much to bare. All she had of him was a sweater with holes in it and memories of things. Not nearly enough.
She found herself needing to leave. The Resistance was moving to a core world, already renaming themselves, The Galactic Republic. Anyone and everyone could join, but there were laws, treaties and the likes. Things that made no sense to a girl from Jakku. She needed to leave, the feeling only growing stronger. She wasn’t... wasn’t what they wanted. Too violent and broken, she would not make a good negotiator for anything.
So she slipped into the Falcon, fingers brushing over well worn walls as she moved to the cockpit, where she found an unexpected ally. Chewbacca sat and eyed her, blue eyes somewhere between amused and annoyed. His growl wasn’t accusatory. <Where?> She didn’t know if Chewie had recognized her restlessness over the last few hours or just... knew, but she felt relief as she slipped into the pilot’s chair.
“Tatooine. His greatgrandmother’s there, I think.” The wookie nodded and flicked at the switches. A very annoyed beeping drew her attention and she looked back at the blue and white droid. “I can’t stay here, Artoo. We won’t stay there, I promise.” The droid said something else and she eyed him. “You are sure?” The droid could have sounded less pissed.
She sighed and turned back to the ship controls. She snagged the old headset and settled it on her head only to hear the squacking of a panicked controller. “Millenium Falcon you don’t have authorization to leave!” Connix was a sweet woman, but she followed rules too often.
“I’ll be back, Kaydel. I promise.” She just needed space. With that the ship spun around, it’s bulk elegant, even in the morning jungle air, and they shot up into the sky. She might not be happy, but there was some delight in piloting. The ship went into hyperspeed as soon as they got out of atmosphere and she leaned back into the chair, arms carefully wrapping around herself. She closed her eyes, trying not to think of anything. Of what ifs and what might have beens. That would only make her cry. Chewie asked her if she wanted food, and she shook her head, but he sighed and got up, going to the kitchen to make something.
At some point before Chewie finished she fished out the sweater she’d been carrying in her back. It was too big for her, but she pulled it on anyway, getting lost in the smell of the last person who’d worn it, the tears finally finding her eyes as she curled up into the chair, falling asleep with her arm wraped around her face, nose burried in the sweater.
---
Chewie found her and carried her to bed, settling her carefully in the captain’s quarters before slipping out of the room. He missed the Cub too. He just didn’t know how to tell her as much. He’d stayed with her even after his life debt was technically discharged with Han’s death. Not that he’d ever stuck around because of the life debt. He liked Han to much to leave. And now he’d found himself another orphan who needed someone to watch over them.
He let her sleep as they entered Tatooine space. He was perfectly capable of landing the ship, and dealing with docking fees. He knew that she’d hardly slept since she’d returned from Exogol. Losing a mate was troublesom for non-force sensatives, but as far as he could tell, it effected those who could use it so much  more. Maybe they felt the loss in a way everyone else couldn’t.
---
Rey woke up suddenly as the warmth of the planet seeped into the walls of the freighter. It was too warm, but she didn’t think of taking off the too large sweater, too focused on trying to figure out why she was on a bed and not in the cockpit. Artoo beeped at her from his self-proclaimed guarding spot. “... Wait we are?” She panicked, standing up, and hurrying out of the room, the sleeves of her largest garment rolled up as she hurried out of the room, snagging her bag as she went. As she moved towards the ramp she could smell the dust and sun. Not so different from Jakku then. Chewie was at the bottom of the ramp, talking to someone, and she moved down it. He growled at the man who scurried off. “You should have woken me.”
<Not sleeping is worse.> He told her. <He will supply a speeder. The droid has the location of the Lars farm.> He roared at her easily and she nodded. He noticed the black sweater. <That’s got a hole in it.> He pointed out and she glanced down eyes going wide and a deep blush finding her.
“Oh... right..” She hurried back inside. It wasn’t long before the speeder was provided and Rey climbed in with the droid. “Aren’t you coming?” She asked Chewie who shook his head, roaring about sand and how it didn’t get along wtih his fur. She sighed, and nodded. Alone then. Well mostly. She glanced at Artoo who was already plugged into the speeder.
The wind felt delightful, and it was fmiliar. Warm, hott, the sand spraying on her face. She suddenly wished she had her goggles and some cloths to wrap around her head. She had forgotten she might need those. Dressed in dark clothing, she knew she might stand out on Tatooine, but it helped a little.
The Lars Farm was... decrepit. She stepped off the speeder with... trepedation. This was a dead place. Long dead. Lost to the sand, almost. She moved around it, looking for something. What she found was a headstone peaking out from the sand and instantly her hand reached out. Wind seemed to leap up from around her, whirling and twisting. Suddenly it swept forward, clearing the sand from the headstones. Four of them. She didn’t know their ages, but the names were there. Owen, Beau, Clieg and Shmi. Though the last one had a longer name than the other three. Skywalker-Lars. She crouched down to look at the small, but beautiful stone, fingers reaching out to touch the sandstone curiously.
“I’m sorry.” She whispered. All that was left of this woman’s line was Leia. It would end there, and it wasn’t fair. “I couldn’t save him, and I’m sorry.” The tears came quickly and she knelt before the grave of a long dead woman who probably didn’t even care what Rey thought. It all hurt too much.
She didn’t know how long she cried, but she jerked to stand when a voice called out to her. “Hello? Who’s there?” The panic in the old feminine voice drew Rey’s attention. Rey turned to see a woman with a Bantha. She was old, weather worn. Rey was reminded of the old woman from Jakku.
“Rey.” Her voice was still full of tears but the name was at least clear.
“Rey who? This place has been desolate for so long, are you going to claim it?” The old woman asked, taking a step towards Rey who instinctively stepped back, almost falling over Shmi’s gravestone. She didn’t know how to answer the woman. There was no last name. Palpatine had lied, she’d known that as soon as he’d tried to taunt her with being her grandfather. She’d always been good at knowing when someone was lying. “Well?”
“Rey...” She paused, thinking. There was a name she’d have liked to have taken... if ther ehad been time to figure out what anything had meant, what being a Dyad had meant. “Solo.” She said after a pause, the woman snorted.
“Dumb name.” The woman glanced at the mostly burried house. “So are you taking it?” Rey glanced at the building, before shaking her head.
“No... just... paying respects.” She said finally and the woman snorted before walking off, obviously annoyed at... whatever Rey had said. She hugged herself, eyes closing as the sun beat down at her neck. The three buns she wore were an attempt at control, but they were loose and one of them a bit to the side. She just felt alone.

» ffxivwrite day #16 — lucubration
wolexarch, 1k words, T.
[ao3 mirror]
G'raha works late, and Shiori worries.
G’raha sits hunched over another dusty tome, the words blurring incomprehensibly under the dim light of his personal quarters. He blinks the bleariness out of his eyes and tries to force himself to focus on the pages again. He’s close, he’s so close. He knows the answer lies somewhere in here, but every time he feels he’s about to reach it, it slips through his fingers.
When he reads the same paragraph for the fifth time without absorbing a single word, he sighs and slams the tome closed in frustration, burying his face in his hands. By his fumbling hand are the Scions trapped in this shard with no way to return, the link between their souls and bodies weakening with every passing second, and his incompetent, useless self can’t even find a way to see them safely home—
“Please don’t take your anger out on the tome,” a voice behind him says, “it has done nothing to deserve this treatment.”
He turns to see Shiori walking in, a silver tray in her hands. He hadn’t even heard the door open. Yet as much as he would appreciate her presence any other time, right now he just feels irritated.
“If you’re here to persuade me to rest—”
“You know that’s the reason I am here,” she cuts him off, placing the tray down on the table. Tea, he notices, and some pastries, round and colourful; green, white and pink ones placed on top of a ceramic plate.
“Shiori,” he sighs, “I really need to work.”
“And you’ve done plenty of that, I’m sure. But you’ll help no one by working yourself into an early grave, Raha.” She moves the tome away and pours the tea in one of the cups. “Take a break. You know you’ll feel better.”
She slides the cup towards him and he stares at it, sighing. “Please leave.”
“No.”
“Shiori.”
“Drink, Raha.” She places the plate in front of him. “And eat. I know you’ve been skipping your meals lately.”
“How can you be so calm?” he asks, frustration bubbling to the surface as she pulls a chair to sit beside him. “Your friends' lives could be forfeit if I don’t find a way for them to return, but you would rather I spend my time sipping tea rather than making sure they don’t perish?”
He raises his voice despite himself and regrets it as soon as he does, noticing the way she tenses ever so slightly. Gods, he’s so tired. But he can’t stop. He can’t fail her, fail them, after all he’s done. He parts his lips to apologize, but Shiori speaks before he has the chance to.
“I can be calm,” she says, placing a hand on his knee and looking right into his eyes, “because the man I love is brilliant and bright, and I am certain that by his ingenuity my friends will find the way back home.”
He deflates, warmth and shame washing over him in equal measure. “Shiori—”
“I cannot be calm, however, when that same man is neglecting his health for their sake, as I would not soon see his life forfeit for the sake of theirs—or for any reason, mind you.”
He fidgets, unable to look her in the eye. “I’m not going to die,” he says, dejected.
“Then you had better eat and get some actual rest,” she says, smiling weakly.
G’raha sighs, picks up the cup and sips his tea quietly as Shiori pours more into a second cup for herself. He grabs one of the round—dumplings?—and bites into it. It’s sweet and chewy, the flavor not familiar to him, but still quite delicious.
“What’s this?”
“Daifuku,” she answers, picking up one of the pink ones, “it’s a dessert from back home. My home, I mean.”
Oh.
“You made this for me,” he says, guilty. Here she was, at gods know what time of night, having made him tea and pastries, and he had yelled at her to leave.
“And for my own sweet tooth. I haven’t had one of those in a while.”
“I’m sorry I raised my voice at you.”
“It’s fine, Raha.”
“It’s not,” he says, “I often get so absorbed in my work that I forget everything else, be it my own health or the feelings of those who care for me, undeserving as I am. I’m sorry.”
She sighs. “You’re not undeserving, Raha,” she says, standing up and leaning over him to press a quick kiss to his lips, “but I guess I’ll forgive you if you come sleep with me.”
He raises an eyebrow at her, smirking.
“Not like that!” she exclaims, the scandalized look on her face making him laugh.
“Considering the things I’ve heard you say at certain times, ‘tis quite amusing that you get so flustered by—”
“Shut up, old man.”
After he soothes her indignation with a few soft kisses and whispered half-apologies, she helps him out of his robes and joins him in his too small bed. He bundles her up in his arms like a doll, the thin fabric of her camise tickling his bare chest, and wonders, not for the first time, how could he possibly have gotten this lucky.
“Thank you,” he whispers instead, leaving light, soft kisses across the top of her chest, a hand sliding smoothly up her side to cup one breast in his palm. He rubs it gently, and she shudders against him.
“Behave,” she chides, wiggling, but it loses its impact with the way she giggles. “You need sleep, Raha.”
“Make me tired, then,” he mutters, pressing his lips to her neck.
“We both know you’d fall asleep halfway through it, the way you are right now,” she says.
He snickers softly, withdrawing. She was right, he knew, his eyelids already feeling too heavy for comfort. “In the morning, then,” he says, grinning, and she rolls her eyes at him fondly.
“Mm,” she hums, snuggling against him and eyes fluttering closed. “Go to sleep, Raha.”
He closes his eyes and squeezes her up against him, tight and warm. Lulled by the soft, rhythmic sound of her breathing, sleep comes easily.

TIVALI
17- From Paris to D.C
It was their last night in Paris. Tomorrow they will close the door of their Parisian apartment for the last time.
The apartment was almost empty. Tali and Adam's bedrooms furniture were gone to D.C. Tony and Ziva had to share their bed with the kids for over a week, much to the joy of Tali and Adam. Adam was long gone asleep on his mother's chest. Tony grumbled:
-"Tali, your feet are very cold"
Tali moved her feet away from her father's legs, then she smiled mischievously and touched Tony's legs again.
-"Tali ! Stop !"
Tali giggled.
-"you know what's gonna happen if you don't stop ? The king of tickle is gonna have to crack down on you"
Ziva raised an eyebrow, she was hoping that Tali would fall asleep soon but now that Tony had provoked her, there was no way this would happen and on top of that they will probably wake up Adam during the fight.
Tali giggled again and touched her father's leg with her feet again.
Ziva warned as she saw Tony moving on the bed::
-"Tony don't"
-"It's too late Ziva, She's gonna have to face her fate"
Tony jumped and grabbed the little girl. Tali started to giggle and struggle. Ziva smiled and nonchalantly said:
-"you are going to hurt yourself..."
After long minutes of a tickle fight on the bed, Tony and Tali fell from the bed and collapsed on the floor. They both said:
-"ouch!"
The next thing they heard was Ziva saying:
-"why do I always have to be right"
And Adam started to whine.
Tali and Tony still on the floor looked at each other with a guilty smile.
An hour later, Tali was still not sleeping. Ziva knew that she was obviously anxious about leaving Paris for a new life. Tony was asleep with Adam next to him. Ziva turned to face Tali and whispered: ⠀
-"do you want to talk about it ?" ⠀
The little girl shook her head and Ziva cursed herself in her mind for giving that aspect of her personality to her daughter. Ziva smiled and gave a boop on Tali's nose. It was always making her smile and this time was no different. Ziva started: ⠀
-"I know how hard this is for you Tali. It's going to be a different world and you'll probably feel lost at first. But one of David's biggest strengths is our faculty to adapt to a new situation. And you are a David as much as you are a DiNozzo. I've been through this. I was living my life in Israel, with my work, my friends, my habits and then I had to move to the U.S. I've met new people which were very, VERY different from the people I used to know, and they became my family. Changing is difficult but you should remember one thing: home isn't a place, it's the people you are with. If I never moved to D.C I would not have met Aba, I would not have had my baby girl (she booped her nose again) and I would not be as happy as I am now. You're gonna be fine" ⠀
Tali smiled and asked: ⠀
-"you promise ?"⠀
Ziva raised her pinky finger and said: ⠀
-"I promise" ⠀
Tali locked her pinky finger to her mother's and smiled. She cuddled up to her mother's side and closed her eyes. Her mother had made a promise to her and she was always keeping her promises. She knew she would be fine.
They were finally home. Their new home for their new life. The first night had been pretty rough, especially for the kids. It was a beautiful morning. Tony was moving some boxes around the house under Ziva's instructions. Adam was wrapped in a baby sling on his mother's chest and Tali was helping her father. Ziva asked them to move Tali's stuff to her bedroom and Ziva went to the garage to see what they should deal with next. After quite some time Ziva came back from the garage. She was surprised that neither Tali nor Tony were back already. She heard a sound coming from upstairs, a melody. She rolled her eyes and smiled. She climbed the stairs and opened the door of Tali's new bedroom. Tony was playing guitar while Tali was listening, dancing and clapping around him. She loved it when her father was playing some music for her and he loved to see his little girl dancing. Tony noticed Ziva:
-"Sweet Cheeks, thank you for joining us"
-"what happened to 'moving boxes' ?"
Tony, still playing his song, answered:
-"I wanted to check if my guitar was still tuned. Spoiler alert, it was not, and Tali asked me to play a song for her. I could not resist her David pleading eyes"
Ziva squint her eyes. She was leaning on the door with her arms crossed around her chest. It did not stop Tony from continuing his song, on the contrary he walked to Ziva and used all his charming skills to get a smile from her. It worked. How could she be upset at him for being so charming. Once he had reached Ziva. he placed a kiss on Adam's head, still playing his song and waited for Ziva to give him a kiss. She hesitated and finally granted him with the reward he was waiting for. The day went on until the house was finally starting to look like a functional house and not a cardboard boxes warehouse.
During the evening, someone knocked on their door. Tony opened the door. A man and a woman were standing on his doorstep with a young girl, probably around the age of Tali. They introduced themselves as Tony and Ziva's neighbors. Tony invited them inside and apologized for the mess. Ziva soon joined them with Adam and Tali in the backyard. Tony introduced them:
-"This is my wife, Ziva and this is Tali and Adam. Ziva this is Jerry, his wife Sharon and their daughter Emily"
Ziva greeted them and Tali asked if she could show her bedroom to Emily. After spending the entire afternoon together, the neighbor left. Tony was clearing the backyard dining table, Ziva was looking at him with a smirk. She said:
-"they are nice"
-"yes, Jerry looks like a fun guy. And he loves movies"
-"she's sexy.."
-"what ?"
-"Sharon.. she's a pretty beautiful woman"
-"really ? I haven't noticed"
Ziva threw the wet sponge to his face and did not miss her target:
-"Liar. The old DiNozzo would have drooled over her perfect body"
Tony walked to Ziva and grabbed her waist:
-"oh so this is it.. you are jealous"
-"I am not .."
Tony cut her off:
-".. you are jealous that I might find another woman more attractive than you. You are right, the old DiNozzo would have 'drooled over' her perfect body BUT today's 'very handsome and funny' DiNozzo is married to a very sexy woman and he does not care about any other women because these women cannot compete with the sexiness of my middle-east beauty"
He kissed her with passion to prove his point. The kiss was lasting for long minutes and was becoming more arousing every minute until they heard Tali yielling:
-"IMA ! I think Adam just pooped in his diaper"
Tony and Ziva sighed. The kiss was suddenly less sexy. Tony said:
-"YOU REALLY HAVE TO WORK ON YOUR TIMING TALI"
And Ziva walked inside to take care of Adam.
A few weeks later. The family was now living their life in a beautiful house. They were trying to accommodate to their new life as a family of four living in D.C. The first weeks had been pretty challenging for Tali but Tony and Ziva were doing their best to make things smoother. McGee and Gibbs have helped a lot to get the house ready. Tony was in the living room playing with Adam when his phone rang. He looked at the screen and saw "Elf lord" on it. He answered his phone by saying:
-"how's my favorite Elf Lord doing ?"
-"Hey Tony, you remember when you offered a trumpet and a drum to morgan and john so they could make a lot of noise and drive us crazy ?"
-"yeah ! That was a good one admit it! Your twins are really gifted you should be proud"
McGee felt the irony in Tony's voice. He smiled and said:
-"remember I told you I would get my revenge? That day is today"
-"you think you're going to scare me McHarmless ?"
-"come out and see for yourself"
McGee hung up the phone and Tony looked through the window. McGee was holding a puppy in his arms. Tony's eyes widened. He could not believe it. He rushed out from the house. He still had time to stop this as long as Tali was not aware of it:
-"what is this ?"
McGee smiled:
-"this is your dog"
-"no it's not ! Take it back to where ever you found it"
Tony peaked over his shoulder to be sure that Tali was not around.
-"won't happen"
-"you are taking this to the next level McGee ! You have no idea what's coming for you next if you do that. You can still back out"
-"UNCLE TIMMY !!"
Too late. Tony closed his eyes in despair. McGee walked past Tony and knelt in front of Tali:
-"look what uncle Timmy brought you"
Tali was already in love with the puppy. She petted the puppy's head and turned to her father:
-"oh he is so cute, look Aba"
Tony tried his best to smile:
-"yeah sweetheart, I can see. We really need to find a way to thank uncle Tim in a proper way"
Tali took the dog to show it to her mom and shouted:
-"come on aba ! Ima has to see it"
Before following his daughter Tony looked at McGee and said:
-"you brought this on yourself McDoomed ! We are at war !"
Ziva was sitting on the floor next to the couch in the living room and she was holding Adam in front of her to help him stand on his feet. Adam was focused on the little puppy that was chewing on the coffee table leg far away from him. Tony and Tali walked in, they were apparently trying to fix a disagreement:
-"no Tali, Mister Chewie is a dog and dogs do not sleep in children's beds."
-"please Aba, he is so little"
-"I said no Tali. We bought a very beautiful, comfortable and very expensive dog bed for Chewie so he's gonna use it, like every other dog before him"
Tali turned to her mom and complained in Hebrew. Tony continued:
-"hebrew isn't gonna save you. Ima agrees with me."
He turned to Ziva, so did Tali. Ziva saw her daughter's pleading face and her husband face asking for backup. Tali's face was breaking her heart but she knew that Tony was right. She had to support him on this:
-"aba is right Tali. Chewie has to learn to sleep in his own bed"
As the conversation went on, Adam let go of Ziva's hand and walked to the puppy all by himself. Ziva could not believe it. Her baby was taking his first step. She stopped the argument between Tali and Tony and said:
-"Tony look !"
He could not believe it either. His son was walking and he had no idea that this meant that from now on,  a brand new world of mischief was opened to Adam. Tony knelt a few feet away from Adam and called him:
-"come on buddy, come see Aba"
Adam looked at his father and turned his attention back on the puppy. He walked to the dog and collapsed right before him. Tony looked at the dog with threatening eyes:
-"you !"
The next morning when Tony walked to Tali's room to wake her up he was not even surprised to find Chewie sleeping in Tali's arms on her bed. His first thought was that this child was as stubborn as her mother and it actually made him smile.
It was a beautiful Sunday morning. The DiNozzos were still asleep. Only the sound of birds could be heard. Tony woke up 30 minutes later. He was thirsty. He looked at Ziva next to him. She was still deeply asleep. He had a furious desire to wake her up with kisses on her neck to enjoy this sunday morning before the kids wake up. But he is still thirsty. He will try that option once he had quenched his thirst. He walked downstairs, quietly enough not to wake up the kids, which would have been very unfortunate for his sexy awakening plan. While getting downstairs he could hear the sound of someone cutting wood with a saw. He thought 'what kind of psychopath cuts woods at 8am on a Sunday'. He grabbed a glass, filled it with water and walk to the window. He almost spit his sip out when he saw that the psychopath cutting woods was actually Gibbs. He cursed in his mind as he saw his bedroom plans going away. He walked out of the house. Gibbs raised his head to Tony and said:
-"nice outfit DiNozzo"
Tony looked at his pajama and said:
-"yes this is what normal people are wearing at this time of the day. Please tell me you are not building a boat on my driveway"
Gibbs smirked. Tony continued:
-"what is all of this ?"
Gibbs pointed at the tree in front of the house and said:
-"my grand daughter asked me to build her a treehouse, I am building a treehouse.."
Tony wanted to argue about the fact that it was very early for such a task but Gibbs cut him off by handing him a saw. Tony got the message. He sighed and grabbed some wooden planks.
When Ziva woke up she was surprised not to find her husband next to her. He was usually the last one to wake up and sometimes she had to threaten him to sprinkle him with a glass of water to get him out of bed. She heard a hammer blow followed by a curse coming from a familiar voice. She got out of bed and looked through the window. Tony was sitting on a branch of their front yard tree, a hammer in one hand and his thumb in his mouth. No doubt that he missed his target a few seconds earlier. She heard babbling coming from the bedroom next door. She walked inside Adam bedroom and found him standing on his crib, with the help of the wooden fence. He smiled as he saw his mother:
-"daddy woke you up with his loud voice ? you want to go see him ?"
Adam babbled again.
-"let's go make some coffee for him"
She walked downstairs and was welcomed by Chewie who was running around the house. She walked past Chewie's bed and saw one of Tony's most expensive pair of shoes in it. She looked at Chewie and said:
-"you are going to be in big trouble for chewing his favorite shoes"
Chewie was looking at her, with his tongue hanging out and his wagging tail. She poured two mugs with hot coffee and walked out of the house holding Adam by the hand to help him walk. As he saw them Tony said:
-"hey look who's there ! My little walking monster"
Gibbs welcomed her with a kiss on her forehead, Tony jumped from the branch:
-"coffee ?" She asked.
Tony answered positively as he took a mug from her hand and kissed her right after. She smiled back at him and sweped some sawdust away from his hair.
Tony took Adam in his arms and said:
-"wanna help aba build a treehouse for your big sister ? She's gonna love it"
They returned to their work after the coffee break. A few moments later and after a few more smashed fingers, Tali walked out of the house still in her pajamas. As she saw the tree house she screamed and rushed to Gibbs. She hugged him and thanked him. Tony jumped again from his branch and said:
-"what about me ? Can I have a hug ? I helped him building it ! And I've almost lost all my fingers because of it"
Tali laughed at the funny and childish behavior of her father and gave him a hug too.
It was around noon. The tree house was almost finished. Tali was playing with Chewie around the front yard. Ziva walked out from the house and said:
-"Time for our brave sunday workers to take a lunch break. Go wash your hands, lunch is ready"
Tony and Gibbs looked at each other with an amused smile.
-"yes Ma'am" answered Gibbs.
10 minutes later Tony walked out from the bathroom and found Ziva and Tali standing and smiling in the living room in front of Chewie's bed. They were looking pretty weird. He asked:
-"what's wrong ?"
Ziva faked to be surprised:
-"what do you mean 'what's wrong' nothing's wrong ? Why do you want something to be wrong ?"
Gibbs joined them. He looked behind Ziva's back and saw the shoes still in Chewie's bed. He smiled. Tony continued:
-"you look weird! What is it ?"
He knew Ziva and Tali were trying to hide something from him. He gently pushed them away and saw the crime scene.
-"no ! Nononononon ! Not my favorite shoes!"
-"these are just shoes Tony ! And if you had not left them lying around he would never have found them"
-"I'm gonna kill McGee !"
They left Tony mourning his shoes and everyone then gathered around lunch in the backyard. It was a beautiful and sunny Sunday. A perfect day to share family time.
During the evening, Gibbs and Tony finished the tree house and Tali hosted the big opening ceremony, with the ribbon, the scissors and the solemn speech. She was such a clown sometimes. She was such a DiNozzo.
