Vampire Cinder has fought a long, storied rivalry with Huntress Ruby Rose. Their final battle comes, with the eternally young and beautiful Cinder meeting an old, weary Ruby with grey hairs and wrinkles. "Your eyes are as pretty as the day we first met."

Ruby gripped the hilt of her scythe as she made her way closer to the cottage shack rumored to house Cinder. The sun had already started to set, what little light was left made the grey in her hair shine a faint silver. After all these years, she finally had a way to stop Cinder. And she was certain today was going to be the last time she’d have to meet her. 

As she reached the door, she kicked it down, thankful that her strength hadnt faded with age. But as she walked in, she was met with glowing amber eyes with red rings around the pupil staring at her from the shadows. 

“You could’ve just knocked,” Cinder spoke softly as she stepped out from the shadows and towards the edge of the light, a smile crossing her lips. “Your eyes are still just as pretty as the first time we met.” 

Ruby moved her scythe, blade facing Cinder as she readied herself for a fight. “I’ve come to end this.” 

Cinder let out a laugh and sat down on her couch. “As you’ve said for years, and yet, here we are, meeting once again. What makes you think this time would be any different?” 

Ruby tightened the grip on her scythe and took a step closer to the unintimidated vampire. Her breathing started to slow as she felt her heart race. And yet, nothing she did seemed to phase the vampire in front of her. “I finally have what I need to defeat you.” 

“Let me guess, another cross?” Cinder asked as she reached for a nearby wine glass. “Or maybe you have holy water with you. Oh, I know, your blade is made of silver now.” 

“I know now that you’re a vampire because of the grimm inside you.” 

A frown crossed Cinder’s lips while she grabbed a wine bottle from the rack. “I see. So what, you’re going to blast me with your eyes this time?” 

Ruby lowered her scythe, silver eyes still glued to the vampire as she watched her remain unintimidated. And yet, something felt… off. In years past, Cinder would be gloating about keeping the upperhand, for Ruby walking into a trap. And yet, she seemed to not care about any of that. “You’re… not worried.” 

“Maybe I want a drink before we get into this fight again.” Cinder poured herself a glass of wine, and then a second before offering it to Ruby. “Join me?” 

“How do I know you’re not trying to poison me?” Ruby asked. 

Cinder sat the glass down and took a sip from her own. “Suit yourself.” 

Ruby folded her weapon up and sat down across from Cinder, still keeping watch over her. She had been in this fight with Cinder for longer than she wanted to count, and yet, this was the first time Cinder hadnt made a move against her. No attempts to turn her, stab her, lead her into a trap, just a pair of wine glasses and what looked to be one of the last bottles of wine that Cinder had. 

“Once you’re finished with me, what do you intend to do next?” Cinder asked as she swirled the wine in her glass. “Move on to the next monster? Or do you plan to settle down finally.” 

“Why do you care to know?” Ruby reached for the glass in front of her and sniffed it. “You’ll be dead.” 

“Just because we’re rivals doesnt mean I cant care about your wellbeing. Your heart, it hasnt stopped racing since you’ve walked in here. You dont have much longer either, do you?” 

Ruby looked away. “I’ll be fine-” 

“But you wont. Your silver eyes, I know they’re destroying your sight and your heart. How many more times can you use them before you destroy yourself in the process? Dont you have anyone to live for?” 

Ruby could only sit in silence at the question. Years ago, she could’ve answered with a resounding yes. But now, her family and friends were just a memory and graves that she visited when she could. When she looked at Cinder, all she could see was pity in the vampire’s eyes. 

“You dont, do you?” Cinder more said than asked. “I know how that feels.” 

“Again, why do you care?” Ruby finally took a sip of her wine, still not used to the bitter taste. “I’m here to kill you, arent I?” 

“Yes, but that doesnt mean you’ll succeed.” 

In a flash of an eye, Ruby felt Cinder’s fangs against her neck, unsure of when the vampire had moved. The hand she’d normally use to grab her scythe had been pinned to the couch and she could barely move. 

Cinder pulled her fangs away and whispered to Ruby. “I’m still in my prime and you’ve aged well past yours. Using your eyes will be sure to kill us both, and then there’ll be nothing left. No stories of either of us, no one to remember us, just two rivals faded into obscure legend by the few traces we left. Is that really what you want? Or are you just looking for a way to punish yourself?” 

Ruby closed her eyes. “If you’re going to kill me, do it.” All she could do was stay still as she felt Cinder’s fangs brush against her neck once more, only to pull away. 

“I have no intent to kill you. In fact, I… I’m ready for this rivalry of ours to end.” 

Ruby opened her eyes. “I-I dont understand.” 

Cinder moved back to her seat and picked up her wine glass. “There’s nothing more for me to gain with it. Turning you or killing you when you were younger would’ve gotten you out of my way, but now… Salem’s gone, vampires are starting to become more accepted and there are other ways to get blood now besides just abducting people to feed from… So, I leave us with a choice: either we both die, or we both get to live out the rest of our lives atoning for what we’ve done.” 

Ruby nodded and stood up, her hand reaching for her scythe. She unfolded it one last time, staring at the blade and then at Cinder. She could end it all now, be done with everything. No more Cinder, she’d certainly die, but then again she would die anyway. It was all down to her choice. 

And yet, all she could do was drop the scythe onto the coffee table in front of her and start to walk out. “We’re done.” 

“You’re not going to finish your wine?” Cinder asked. 

“I’m not a fan of the stuff.” 

“Then maybe I’ll find you next time we can get something to eat together.” 

Ruby paused at the door of the cottage and sighed. “I thought you didnt get anything out of eating.” 

“I dont, but I want to make sure that I see you again,” Cinder answered back. “You still deserve someone at your side until its your time to pass.” 

“Fine,” Ruby said, waving her off. “Just make sure you dont give me a reason to regret this.”

Jaune: But, this is what, Himmel would have done.

Nora: ...

Nora: Yeah... it's what he would have done.

Nora: Hmm. You know what... they're actually not that bad!

Jaune: Atta girl~!

Yang: What the?

Blake: I can't go to sleep yet, Jaune! I need to find out what the, White Fang are up to!

Jaune: It's what the hero, Himmel would have done.

Blake: Yeah... Yeah, it's what, Himmel would have done... Imma.. Imma go to bed now...

Jaune: Good night, Blake.

Blake: Good night, Himmel...

Yang: What? There's no way that would...?!

Blake: Zzzz...

Yang: The hell?

Cinder: I have done it! I finally have the, Maiden powers! And, at last I can finally act my revenge upon the world!

Yang: Shit! She's too strong! What are we going to do.

Jaune: I know what to do!

Yang: That's great! What are you going to... Wait?! You're not going to say...?!

Jaune: Cinder!

Cinder: What do you want you fool! Here to play the white knight!, and be a hero?!

Jaune: This isn't what the hero, Himmel would have done!

Yang: Oh come on! That's not going to work!

Cinder: ...

Cinder: (Sniff.)

Cinder: Your right... this isn't what he would have done...

Yang: Excuse me...?

Cinder: I surrender... I'm sorry for what I've done...

Jaune: Himmel would have been proud of you.

Cinder:(Sniff) Y-You really think so...?

Jaune: I know he would have.

Yang: ...?!

Yang: What the hell was that?!

Yang: Jaune?!

Jaune: Oh hey, Yang. What's up?

Yang: Okay! Explain yourself! Why are you always saying, 'This is what, Himmel would have done!' You've said that to so many people, and they've actually done the thing they were ignoring! You got, Nora to eat her vegetables, Blake to get some sleep, you used it to get a terrorist, Cinder fall to surrender. Hell, you even used it on yourself when, Cardin was beating you down to get back up, and fight!

Jaune: Is there something wrong with that?

Yang: He burst into tears, and gave up the match! I don't get it, what's going on?!

Jaune: 'Himmel Logic.'

Yang: 'Himmel Logic?'

Jaune: Yeah, 'Himmel Logic.'

Yang: The hell does that mean?

Jaune: It's simple, 'Himmel Logic' is a simple thing: 'This a what a hero would do." Seldom is it a grand thing such as defeating a monster, and saving the day. It's the simple things such as eating your vegetables, helping out someone in need, getting some sleep. Simple things that anyone could have done. The phrase: 'This is what Himmel would have done.' Is merely a catalyst to inspire others to do the right thing.

Yang: That's... That's stupid.

Jaune: It may be, but it works. Look, why don't you try it out on, Ruby. She's been evading her homework for working on, Crescent Rose. Maybe, if you apply, 'Himmel Logic' to it, she'll go, and do it.

Yang: There's no way that will work...

Jaune: Perhaps, but this is what, Himmel would have done.

Yang: Ughh... fine! Fine, I'll try it out on, Ruby. But, if this fails you can never use... 'Himmel Logic' again!

Jaune: I'll take that bet.

Yang: Haa... Okay, here goes nothing...

Yang: Ruby how goes your homework?

Ruby: Homework? Pff... I haven't been working on that. my baby needs work done! I finally figured out how to make her a semi-automatic rifle!

Yang: But, it's important that you get that done, Ruby.

Ruby: Pff... Who cares about that silly report when I have this beauty before me!

Yang: But it's worth three percent of our grade!

Ruby: Who cares.

Yang: But... Oh gods... The hero... Himmel would have done so...

Ruby: ...

Ruby: That's true.

Yang: W-What?

Ruby: Crescent Rose, can wait, I got to finish my homework.

Yang: ...

Yang: What the fuck?!

Yang: Jaune?!

Jaune: Hey, Yang. How did it go?

Yang: It worked?! It fucking worked! I said, 'The hero, Himmel would have done so. And, she put, Crescent Rose to the side, and is working on her homework! She never puts her baby away when she's working on it! No matter what we do, she won't put that thing away when she starts working on it! But, I say that one stupid line, and boom! She put her gun away, and is now doing her homework! What the fuck?!

Jaune: Himmel is a hero. A true hero. His actions were noble, pure of heart, and always done out of a sense of selflessness. Because of this he became such an great example of what a true a hero is. That his example inspired others to do what is right. As I told you before: Even if it's the little things, it's what a hero would have done.

Yang: Grr...! I hate the fact that you are right about what you said... It's stupid, and makes no sense!

Jaune: Yes it does.

Yang: I know it does! That's why I hate it!

Jaune: Ha-haha~!

Yang: Well, you know what, Himmel would have done, Jaune?

Jaune: What?

Yang: Himmel would have done her~!

Jaune: Ahh.. Yang... This is what, Himmel tried to do so... He showered her in love, and affection, it's just that she never knew what love was until it was too late for them to experience it together... But, I have time... Plenty of time to make her understand, that she is loved, and that I love her.

Weiss: Hmm?

Weiss: Why are you staring at me? Is there something on my face, Jaune?

Jaune: No, there's nothing on your beautiful face, Weiss. Nothing at all, but perfection,

Weiss: Oh good.

Jaune: ...

Jaune: Haa... You know, the guy isn't always the dense one.

Yang: It's rare, but it's been know to happen...

Yang: ...

Yang: Wait, hold on...? You used, 'Himmel Logic' on me to convince, Ruby to do her homework!

Jaune: And, it worked.

Yang: You bastard!

Seduction Strategy

Yang: Jaune, I need your help.

Jaune: With what?

Yang: You see a friend of mines was having trouble pleasing his partner last time. She wasn't-

Jaune: He or she?

Yang: Pardon?

Jaune: Like is this person a he or she? Is their partner a girl or boy? I mean you and this person are two different people so-

Yang: Okay. I-I need help. I need another way to please Blake in bed. I've tried everything but nothing works.

Jaune: Why me though? I’m not in a relationship.

Yang: Come on, what about your sisters’ advice?

Jaune: Have they ever worked though?

Yang: Okay, yeah, j-just guess. I’ll take anything.

Jaune: I mean what are Blake's interest.

Yang: Well. She likes fish. And reading books. And that's it.

Jaune: Okay does she have a favorite book?

Yang: Well, she does, and it is called “Ninja of Love.”

Jaune: So read the book and find some way to focus that into sex.

Yang: Hm. Really?

Jaune: I mean, “Ninja of Love”, doesn’t that scream sex?

Yang: ….

Afterwards Yang read the book and put her plan into motion. Blake was heading to their room to figure out what Yang wanted after she texted her. She walked inside and;

Blake: Yang. What did you- *gasp*

Blake was in shock. She saw her girlfriend was wearing a very sexy ninja outfit. Her hair was in a ponytail. She was wearing black but the skirt was short. And her top was tight, revealing her breast. Yang smiles as she saw her girlfriend blushing at her and decided to make a move. She walked towards the bed, swaying her hips as she slowly laid down, giving Blake a lot of the details.

Yang: Hi Blake. Care to learn the ways of the ninja.

Blake: Yang. Why are you-?

Yang: Oh. Sorry. I should probably mention I read one of your favorite books and I was wondering… would you like to reenact a few scenes with me?

Blake gave Yang her answer as she strips down naked. Afterwards Yang and Blake were going at each other for weeks. Then when Ren asked on how she did it, she replied to ask Jaune. Ren was confused at first but she said “Trust him.” Ren then goes to Jaune for advice.

Ren: Jaune. Yang told me how you helped her. Can you help me with Nora?

Jaune: Ren. Come on, you know me, I am not qualified to help with your relationship problems.

Ren: I mean so far you have been able to help everybody with their issues by talking to them and listening. How is this different?

Jaune: Look man., figure that out yourself.

Ren: Jaune, please?

Jaune: Fine. Um. Just wear an apron that states "Baked With Love" and say "I have a new pancake recipe for you to try." I guess.

Ren: Hm. Alright I’ll try.*leaves*

Jaune: Don’t blame me if it doesn’t work.

Later that night.

Nora: Ren. What do ne-e-eed… Oh my

Nora was stunted for words. She was looking at Ren completely naked with just an apron as she stared at his butt. Ren turned around revealing “Baked With Love” imprinted on the apron and said the words exactly as Jaune told him.

Ren: Hi Nora. Sorry to have called you so late. But, I made a new pancake I need you to try.

Nora: R-really? So where are the pancakes?

Ren: Oh don’t worry. *pulls up his apron* I have a special one made just for you.

Nora saw what Ren was doing and she liked it. Afterwards Nora was blowing Ren like no tomorrow. Both Ren and Yang were enjoying the results of Jaune’s guesses. However one thing they never accounted for is Oscar listening in on them. Oscar wanted the same result so he can finally score with Ruby, so he asked Jaune for help. However;

Oscar: Jaune, help me score with Ruby.

Jaune: Nope.

Oscar: Please?

Jaune: No!

Oscar: Please.

Jaune: No!!

Oscar: PLEASE!!

Jaune: NO!!!!

Oscar: Why not?!?

Jaune: First, Yang will kill me! Second, you’re too young, so I don’t know why you’re thinking about this, after everything you’ve been through. Third, Yang will kill me!

Oscar: I'll tell Winter you almost got Weiss killed.

Jaune: You little bastard, you wouldn’t.

Oscar: I would. And she could kill you faster than Yang can.

Jaune: Damn, you right. Fine. Um… go to the store. Buy some whip cream and gum drops. Get naked. And make yourself look like a gingerbread man.

Oscar: What? Why?

Jaune: Ruby loves cookies. And you almost look like a cookie.

Oscar: Jaune that isn’t going to w- oh yes!

Oscar was feeling the up most pleasure as Ruby was bouncing up and down from his pine tree in her team bedroom.

Ruby: Yes. Harder. Harder!! Make me your wife, Gingerbread Man!

Oscar: Yes ma’am.

Afterwards, Jaune, finally thinking he’s done, was relaxing. That was until Cinder Fall appeared out of nowhere. She was very angry too.

Cinder: Seriously?

Jaune: What?

Cinder: I mean, come on, you can help everyone get laid but not yourself. Pathetic.

Jaune: Okay. What’s your point? Why is this your business? Also how did you get in this house?

Cinder: Okay?! Look Arc, I'll show you pity for today. If you can get me to sleep then you get me as your reward. No attempts on your life at all.

Jaune: What if I say no?

Cinder: Why would you?

Jaune: I mean Pyrrha was better looking than you. So is Winter. And Penny.

Cinder: I am very capable.

Jaune: Really?

Cinder: Must I-

Cinder stops and thinks for a minute. Jaune knows she loves to prove how better she is than everyone else around her. She thought for a moment and realized Jaune was toying with her emotions and pride. She smiled, giving him some credit but a failed attempt was still a failed attempt.

Cinder: Ah. You almost had me. Try again.

Jaune: Okay. Hand please.

Cinder: Why?

Jaune: Give me your hand and find out.

Cinder grabs his hand. Jaune uses his semblance to amplify her powers. Cinder felt a surge of power flow in her body as her maiden power suddenly activated. She then stares at Jaune, with smug look on his face.

Cinder: Wha- what did you-?

Jaune: Liked that huh?

Cinder: Um… no.

Jaune pulls Cinder close where her back is towards his chest.

Jaune: You know Cinder, instead of having to track down maidens to gain power. How about I let you take a bit of mines?

Cinder: Um… well you see- Ah~.

Cinder can feel Jaune’s sword rubbing on her butt as she blushes. Jaune continues to smile as he sees her so flustered. To Jaune, Cinder look so cute. However, he wonders why she so was easily tempted. He thought about it and came to the conclusion that;

Jaune: Oh. Cinder Fall, is this your-

Cinder: S-shut up!

Jaune laugh sand gently places his hand on Cinder’s face, turning her towards his own. Cinder was amazed by the glow of his eyes. She was enjoying this. She could feel his power coursing to her veins. She want more so bad she was close to kissing him however-

Cinder: No. You fool. We can’t. We’re enemies.

Jaune: So what? I mean we don’t have to love each other to make a fire. So, are you going to make the first move and express your dominance? Or am I going to show you how strong I really am?

Cinder giggles and turns towards him with her chest to his.

Cinder: Is that a challenge?

Jaune: If that’s how you want it to be.

Cinder: Then don’t hold back.

Jaune: Same.

Jaune and Cinder, without hesitation, kissed and spent a whole night in a ‘hatred’. Cinder was screaming in pleasure as Jaune brutally ‘stabs’ her.

Cinder: I am so glad I killed Pyrrha! ~

Cinder: (Swings door open quickly ignoring the note.) My Queen! Those brats have broke into the castle we must stop!

(Pauses while looking at the scene)

Jaune: (His head on Weiss's lap as she runs her fingers though his hair) Alyx was a brat but she still was like family she didn't deserve what that cat did.

Salem: I understand life is usually cruel. Now tell me more about this Curious Cat.

Cinder: WTF?!?

Cinder stalked through the halls and corridors of EverNight Castle. Her twin obsidian blades ready to strike down the intruders... if she could find them. Normally she would have zeroed in on the sounds of conflict and combat, but there was none. The grimm she passed, when she did come across them were just wandering about aimlessly, that was if they weren't sitting or laying down.

So without the sounds of a fierce pitched battle to guide her, Cinder was forced to actually search for the interlopers... who she knew was team RWBY and their friends.

Cinder: This is RIDICULOUS! I must ask my queen for help, to locate these brats.

Cinder made a turn at the next corner and stomped her way toward the throne room. She emerged from one of the side halls into the main corridor and turned towards her destination. Five minutes later she stood there before the large double doors... in total shock.

Cinder: I...

A Beowulf, dressed in a tasteful skirt and blouse ensemble, matched with a set of sensible heels, and topped off with a pearl necklace, and a pair of wire rim glasses... stood before the doors baring her entry.

Cinder: I...

The Beowulf pointed to a sign near the door, well a set of signs in fact. It took ever ounce of her will power to draw her eyes off the figure before her, and look at the signs.

(1) If the doors are closed there is either a meeting or session in progress. Unless it is an EMERGENCY no admittance.

(2) Sessions are by appointment ONLY.

(3) This is a ZERO TOLERANCE work place. Anyone causing a disturbance, or harassing staff will be asked to leave. Failure to do so will cause the authorities to be summoned.

(4) I am the boss, but my secretary is in charge. If she says NO then it's NO. There are no exceptions.

Cinder: Secretary?

The Beowulf nodded its head and using a metal ruler tapped the desk name plate.

Cinder: Grendelsa Grimmsald, Executive Assistant to Doctor Salem Salem?

The Beowulf who Cinder now knew was named Grendelsa nodded.

Cinder: But, I...

Grendelsa: *Grunt like growl*

Cinder: I know I don't have an appointment, but this is an emergency! The castle is under attack! I must speak to Queen...

Grendelsa: *Growl like grunt*

Cinder: I mean Doctor Salem.

Grendelsa pointed to a set of rather comfy looking waiting room chairs, and Cinder knew instantly she had no choice. So she sat down, and after a few seconds wiggled her butt into the plush cushioning getting more comfortable.

Cinder dozed off, and awoke with a start at the sound of the door opening.

Salem: I understand it is quiet the commute so I will have Grendelsa arrange for some accommodations for you, as in my opinion there is a need to have a few more sessions over the next week before I feel confident that we can space them out further. Is that acceptable Ms Schnee? Mr Arc?

Weiss: More than. Thank you for your hospitality, and all your help.

Cinder shot to her feet, her eyes wide in shock. Salem, her queen. Malevolent Evil Incarnate was in a black pant suit, wearing glasses and SHAKING HANDS with the SCHNEE who was holding the hand of the blond wanna-be knight from Beacon!

Jaune: I still don't...

Salem: It's alright Mr Arc. These things take time, and we progress at the pace that you set. There is no rushing this. Your mental health is very important, and with Ms Schnee's support and my assistance we will help you find resolutions.

Weiss: Can we give it a couple more sessions Jaune? I really do think this is good for you, me and us.

Jaune: Okay. I'll try a few more times.

Salem: Excellent. Grendelsa will make all the...

Cinder: WHAT THE FUCK IT THIS!!!!

Salem: Ms Fall. Those types of outbursts are not acceptable!

Cinder: WHAT THE FUCK, SALEM? THEY'RE FROM BEACON! THEY'RE YOUR ENEMIES!

Salem: Lower your voice or you will be escorted out.

Cinder: WHAT ARE YOU DOING!?!?!? ARE YOU GIVING THEM THERAPY???

Salem: You were warned Ms Fall. Ms Grimmslad if you please...

Twenty minutes later Cinder found herself sitting outside of the main gate of EverNight Castle, right next to Ruby Rose, Yang Xiao Long, and Blake Belladonna.

Ruby: You get kicked out too?

Cinder: ...

No One Falls AU

In my AU, where nobody fell down the bridges, both Winter and Penny got severely injured. The girls (and surprisingly Neo) came just in the for the Schnee after defeating Cinder, who, again, ran with the relic after the massive silver eyes outburst Ruby had due Penny getting attacked. Jaune made it to Vacuo and started healing Penny there. After Team RWBY+ Neo and Winter got in Vacuo, it was just a matter of time till the Kingdom’s forces found them.

So yeah, Neo after getting by double-crossed by Cinder and saved by Ruby, doesn’t really know what to do now.

My drawing is Weiss having a breakdown due Penny and Winter’s conditions, she blames herself. I’ll give more details on later posts cus making an AU is very fun lol.

A Fond Farewell

With Rooster Teeth beginning its draw down, an era has truly passed. The company has lasted more than two decades. 18 (soon 19) seasons, five mini-series, and cameos and references in Halo itself for Red vs Blue. 9 volumes alongside two movies, a chibi series, Ice Queendom, and its own games for RWBY. And so much more beyond that, RT Shorts, podcasts, Achievement Hunter, The Slow Mo Guys, and on and on. That’s a lot, especially for a little startup launching off a web series. I was listening to “This Isn’t Goodbye, It’s See You Later” by Richie Branson while I was making this little memorial post. It’s a song made for another Rooster Teeth show, Camp Camp, and I have to say it’s some very appropriate music for this moment.

The day the news dropped, I wrote up a little comment in response to Rooster Teeth beginning its closing down, and I thought I’d share some of it here. I grew up with Rooster Teeth, a bit of a cheesy line I know, but it’s true for a lot of us. I was just a little kid way back in the early 2000’s, a kid that liked Halo (a game I didn’t even own for a long time, but played at a friend’s house), and was just getting curious about what I could find about it on YouTube. And that brought me into the world of music videos and skits and montages made for that little game I liked.

From there, I discovered a small web series called Red vs. Blue. I’d sneak onto my folk’s computer to watch it since they didn’t appreciate the language, and in doing so I dipped my toes into the wide world of the internet for the first time. As I got older, I eventually hopped onto Reddit for its discussion threads of Rooster Teeth’s latest show, RWBY. I began my first in-depth fandom interactions, speculating about the show, enjoying the flood of fanart, even got into fanfics about RWBY (those fics have had their own amazing evolution alongside the show) and to this day it’s the fandom I’ve followed and bookmarked the most fics from. All the while I was making friends and bonding with people through the community this company and its shows have created.

Watching the shows and people grow over time was, looking back on it, just like watching myself grow. I was never really a social media/internet kind of guy, until it came to Rooster Teeth. The shows, shorts, podcasts, it all opened up a whole new world for me. It’s sad to see it coming to a close, and I hope it gets picked up in the future. But I’m happy, too, that it’s left so much behind, and had such an impact on me. It’s left me with so many good memories. Rooster Teeth, its shows, those that created and worked on it, and above all the community around it will always have a special place in my heart.

So, I bid a fond farewell to Rooster Teeth and its crew, and anyone who may drift away from the fandom in time. I wish you all the best.

Ruby’s fingers tapped against the crown she held in her lap, her heart racing as she stayed quiet in the airship. Her eyes stayed on her scroll as she watched a few more calls from her teammates go unanswered from her. As her scroll finally went quiet, she turned it off and took a few breaths to try to steady her heart. 

“Not how you thought it was going to be, was it?” Cinder asked. 

“I uh… I thought it’d be easier.” 

“To betray everyone that trusts you?” 

“To follow what I think is truth.” Ruby let out a soft sigh and leaned back in her seat, fingers gripping around the crown. “I-I knew I was going to have to tell them eventually, but I thought… I thought I had more time. I could work both sides, make sure we know what Ozpin is planning so we can keep out of trouble and make sure no one would get hurt. But now Yang knows and I had to fight her… I dont want to fight the rest of my friends as well.” 

Cinder nodded and put the airship on autopilot for a moment. “I wish I could tell you it’d get easier, but it wont.” 

Ruby nodded and looked out the window to watch the world around them pass by. She was no stranger to watching everything pass by below, but it felt different than it had before. No patching up after a mission completed, no terrible jokes being made to laugh at, no complaints about the cooking or not being prepared for some unforeseen issue… just quiet. Even Cinder seemed more reserved than normal instead of flirting like she had on the way to Beacon. 

Finally, Cinder spoke. “Salem probably knows your plan didnt go quite as unnoticed as you said it would.” 

Ruby nodded. “What do you think she’ll do to me?” 

“I’m not sure. Probably make an example of you, but since we do have the crown, I’m sure you’ll get off easier than if we didnt have it.” 

“Yeah…” Ruby said in half agreement. She glanced down at the crown as her fingers ran over it once more, the desire to put it on becoming stronger the longer she held it, almost as if it was begging for her to wear it. Begging to show her the choices that lay in her future as a soft voice whispered in her ear. 

“*Wear me.*” 

Ruby felt Cinder’s hand on her arm, not aware that she had already started to move the relic to her head. Her arms shook as she lowered the crown back to her lap. “S-should I… not wear it?” 

Cinder shook her head. “Not until after Salem has. Its our job to deliver the relics to her, not use them before her.” 

Ruby nodded and put the relic into her pack as she watched the ocean turn to land as they approached Evernight Castle. No matter how many times she saw the barren, grimm infested lands, it always made her heart race in fear. Watching the grimm down below climb out of the grimm pools and make their way towards the castle… it was unnerving. 

“Just make sure you hand the relic to her,” Cinder said as she brought the airship down to land. 

Ruby took one final deep breath as she felt the airship land, her stomach almost in knots as she stood up. The air around her tasted stale as she made her way into the castle and towards the throne room where Salem sat. Her fingers fumbled with her pack with each step as she struggled to get the relic out. 

She followed Cinder into the throne room,staying behind her and following her lead just as she normally would. Once she saw Cinder stop, she dropped to her own knee, relic in hand and near her chest as she waited to be spoken to. And yet, the world around her seemed to be quiet as she heard the faint whispering in her head once more. Ruby’s eyes went from watching Salem down to the crown until she felt her fingers leave it as it was pulled away. 

“You both have done well,” Salem said as she held the relic in her hands. “And for that, you deserve a gift.” 

Ruby looked up at Salem, confused as to what she meant until she felt a sting on the back of her neck as Salem placed a hand on her shoulder. Her muscles clenched as she felt something crawl under her skin. Sweat dripped down her forehead as her body felt like it was heating up. And then… the pain and heat were gone. 

Salem pulled her hand away and smiled. “This will make sure you’re able to succeed with claiming the next maiden’s power to secure the next relic. But for now, rest. I’ll let you know when you’re needed again.” 

Ruby nodded as she stood up, legs shaking under her weight as she nearly collapsed, only to be caught by Cinder. 

“Dont worry, I’ve got you,” Cinder said. 

Ruby sighed and put her arm around Cinder to keep herself balanced. “I-I guess I’m more tired than I thought.” 

“Its fine. We’ll go to bed and rest. And tomorrow we’ll make sure you’re ready to fight your friends if we run into them again.” 

Ruby looked away as she felt her heart sink. Her friends, her teammates… she was sure they’d understand reason if she could get just a moment to talk to them, to help them see things from her point of view. And yet, she was also certain that they would become her enemies whether they understood or not.

The Mermaid Queen

Ruby: Jaune! How are you so calm about this?!

Jaune: My marriage to the Mermaid Queen will bring an end to this pointless war, it must be done, Ruby.

Ruby: But, they are making you marry a monster! A-And, are forcing you to have a child with her!

Jaune: Are you asking me where is the love in all of this, Ruby? If you desire 'true love,' I suggest you find a commoner, Ruby, and ask them about their love life. I am a noble; marriage between royalty is simply a game of politics.

Ruby: But, for your parents to just give you up... They didn't even fight for you.

Jaune: It was my idea, Ruby! This war has been going on for nearly a century. We have brought total calamity to both our kingdoms over what? If it wasn't for the long lived races like the elfs, and dwarfs we wouldn't know it was fought over something as stupid as nobles pride!

Ruby: But, to give up everything, and everyone you ever known just to end this pointless war...

Jaune: Would you rather I not marry, or continue in this pointless war?

Ruby: ...

Ruby: Marry for peace...

Jaune: Now you understand what must be done.

Ruby: But, can't you just bed her, and have a child with her, and come home, do we need this whole wedding thing?

Jaune: Ruby... turn your eyes, and stare at, Salem the Mermaid Queen.

Ruby: Okay...

Ruby: What am I staring at her for?

Jaune: So you understand this one simple thing,

Ruby: And, that is?

Jaune: Smash.

Ruby: W-What...?

Jaune: I saw this woman, and the first thought in my mind was how much I wanted to bed this woman!

Ruby: But, she's not a human?!

Jaune: I don't care about that! She's fucking hot!

There was something intoxicating about Cinder. It could’ve been the way her golden eyes almost seemed to glow in the sunlight or the way her teeth showed with her smile. Maybe it was her personality. It couldve been the feeling of her hands on Ruby’s shoulders or the gentle brushing of hand against her own. Or maybe it was the fact that Ruby was pinned to the wall, Cinder’s body pressed against her own as she felt a hand on the inside of her thigh. 

Moans escaped her lips as she pressed into each kiss that Cinder gave her, legs starting to buckle as she kept them just a bit too straight. The world around her didnt matter, only the moment she had with Cinder did. 

Cinder slowly broke the kiss with a soft moan of her own, her hand slowly moving up Ruby’s thigh until it was just shy of Ruby’s crotch before pulling away. “What would your friends think if they could see you now?” 

“They would think that I’m madly in love,” Ruby answered as she tried to follow Cinder’s hand, not wanting to let her touch leave her, a shiver ran down her spine in anticipation of more of a feel from Cinder. “Is that a bad thing?” 

“Only if you’re fine with them seeing you wrapped around my fingers.” 

“I’m not wrapped around your fingers.” 

“Arent you?” Cinder asked with a grin.

Ruby looked away to hide her blush that started to grow. If it meant feeling more of Cinder’s touch on her, she wouldnt mind being wrapped around her finger. “N-not really. What we have is just a… you know… a uh… a friendly… arrangement.” 

“Is that what you want to call it?” 

“What else would we call it?” 

Cinder tilted Ruby’s chin with her finger. “We call it exactly what we are.” 

Ruby shuddered at the touch, her breath hitching as she stared into Cinder’s eyes. There were definitely words she’d use to describe them. Partners. Girlfriends. Lovers. She desired so much more from Cinder, more than she was willing to let herself have. And yet, those thoughts kept running through her mind even now as she leaned in for another kiss with Cinder. 

Only for Cinder to put a finger to her lips.

“No more, Rosepetal,” Cinder said with a sly grin. “Dont you have a mission to go on with your friends?” 

Ruby pouted and let out a sigh. “My mission can wait. Right now I dont… I dont want to leave you.” 

“And why not? Wasnt being a huntress your dream?” 

“Yes, but, when I’m with you, everything seems to… melt away. I dont want to be away from you.” 

Cinder leaned in close enough that Ruby could feel her breath against her neck again, a shiver running down her spine. “Then I’ll have to come with.” 

“Or you both could behave instead,” Weiss said, annoyance dripping with her words. “Please at least tell me you’re ready to head out.” 

“How… how long have you been here?” Ruby stammered out, face red with a blush as she looked behind Cinder to see her team watching them, Yang notably absent.

“Long enough to know that you like being pinned against a wall,” Blake answered. “Yang’s waiting outside though. Something about regretting sharing an apartment with you two.” 

Ruby used her semblance to get around Cinder and put up a fake smile as she faced Weiss and Blake. “R-right, well, I’m ready now!” 

“And your bag?” Weiss asked. 

Ruby gave a nervous chuckle before darting into her room in a flurry of petals to pack her things. She hadnt realized just how distracted she’d become as soon as Cinder came home. She had plenty of time to get things packed, and yet, time had escaped her. 

It wasnt long before she came back out with pack in hand. “Okay, now I’m ready!” 

Cinder gently squeezed Ruby’s shoulder while her other hand ran down Ruby’s side and to her ass before giving a squeeze. “You’ll come back in one piece, right?” 

“I will,” Ruby said as she turned around and pressed into Cinder. The blush on her cheeks deepened as she felt Cinder’s hands roam her side, her own legs starting to shake. “You… you could still come with us. There’s still plenty of room and-” 

“Not if the two of you are going to keep acting like this.” Weiss grabbed the collar of Ruby’s shirt and started to pull her away. “If I wanted to watch anyone get handsy, I would’ve stayed home with Sun.” 

“We’ll behave!” Ruby yelled out. “I promise!” 

“And risk watching you both get gored by a grimm because you’re too busy to notice anything else around you? Not on your life.” 

Cinder gave Ruby a small smile until she was pulled out of the apartment, her smile fading just as quick as it arrived. She’d have to wait until she could hold her close, to feel her squirm at the slightest touch… the longing and loneliness already starting to feel like withdrawals of an addiction.

Something... something... Cinder and Ruby not being able to keep their hands off of eachother. Verging on innopropriate but they are in love and entirely consumed by eachother while the rest of the world remains dead to them.

Favorite Jaune Ship

Okay, let me do this. My Jaune ships. Other ships I’ll do later.

Lancaster/SilverKnight (Jaune x Ruby);

This ship still holds a special place in my heart and to me was supposed to be one of the factors of the show. Jaune and Ruby's relationship started at Beacon. Jaune was Ruby’s first friend and was the first thought of being a part of a team besides her sister. Unfortunately, she was stuck with Weiss and Jaune had a crush on her. Ruby has times when she and Jaune talk but were always cut short for reasons. However, after the fall of Beacon, I was happy to see her and Jaune team up. But my hopes were short-lived when Weiss and Oscar came onto the scene. Now, because of them, the one relationship I could support died because the story tries its damndest to push Whiteknight and Rosegarden together. (Like seriously, this is one of the reasons why I hate Oscar to this day. Volume five, to this day, I believe Jaune should have unlocked his semblance for Ruby instead of Weiss.)

DragonKnght/GoldenKnight/DragonSlayer(Jaune x Yang);

Now normally this is a crack ship. This ship is just two people boning for almost no reason, but I can see a story behind this ship with Jaune and Yang being an alternate version of Tai and Raven. Jaune is Raven because both  have supportive semblances, use swords, and have a distaste for Ozpin’s methods. Yang is Tai due to mainly being raised by him alone. Throughout the story, we see how Jaune and Yang interact and how their relationship differs from Tai and Raven’s. How Tai and Raven fell apart and what they should’ve done to maintain it. How Jaune and Yang handle situations differently they’ll always find a way to bounce back by talking it out and giving each other space. Though I believe Bumblebee fans would be offended and probably say, “Blake could add that same effect”, I still stand by this.

SilentKnight(Jaune x Neo)

Cute, deadly, and very sad. I haven't read the book but I have heard about it. Also, I wish they made a movie starring her or gave us an episode but… okay. Back on topic, I find this ship enduring. They have only one thing in common but that's enough to create a dynamic between them. However what makes the ship sad is that Neo will be the only one hurt. Image Neo trying to be Ruby just to be with Jaune only for him not wanting to be with her. Loving and caring for Ruby more than Neo. Neo hates and becomes jealous of Ruby because unlike her Neo has no friends. Roman died. And Cinder betrayed her. Jaune probably being the best thing in her life but she will never have. So sorry folks, Silentknight was a no-go.

Topaz (Jaune x Emerald)

Same as Silent Knight except it's Emerald’s loyalty to Cinder getting in the way of her having any relationship with anyone. Jaune probably would talk to her but trusting her could be too much of a stretch for him. Emerald might as well be one of the few who could talk to Jaune one-on-one and be real with him but still, I don't think neither of them is looking to like each other.

Knightshade (Jaune x Blake)

These two never had a single one-on-one conversation. Like really they barely interact with each other. I would not be surprised if they both got drunk somewhere and were found sleeping in the same bed by accident. But I believe they are good friends.

Knightfall (Jaune x Cinder)

Okay, this can go either way. Jaune is done playing the good guy to a bunch of girls who are favored by everyone and want to destroy the world. Cinder decides to be a good person and wants to redeem herself. I highly doubt this would happen but I love the concept. Imagen Jaune has to tell Cinder to chill out all the time. Then having to be the most patient with her especially when following a plan. Cinder trying to be nice but pushing her feelings down so she doesn't show weakness is funny, sad, and insane.  

Martial Arc and Nora's Arc(Jaune x Ren x Nora)

You two do not deserve him. You had four volumes to talk with this man but you didn't. Ruby knows your leader better. Yang treats your leader better. Shit Weiss treated your leader better. Ya’ll barely maintain a relationship with each other. How will you two be in a relationship with this guy if you can't contribute or commit to it? F*** the both of you.

Whiteknight(Jaune x Weiss)

Okay, now this may be my f*** all worst ship. First, I’ll admit Jaune was just a fanboy seeing his female idol for the first time in real life. But as he continues he eventually gets over her a bit. Then in some way, he does try to get with Pyrrha, who was an upgrade. What I don't like about this ship is unlike Lancaster it feels forced. Like in volume five Weiss got stabbed by Cinder for no reason. It should have been Ruby considering Jaune traveled and spent more time with her than Weiss. And Cinder hates Ruby. Then in volume seven she basically used the man to get away from Bumblebee. And the only time she ever acknowledged this man was in volume nine when he turned out to be her favorite character in a story. I may be wrong but no, this is not my favorite.
