Realized I’ve never shared my Techno design online before, and then I realized the TCU could do with some character designs, so! Here’s quick sketches of TCU Emduo a la around the midway point of Antarctic Empire, before the takeover, feel free to zoom in to read:
(YES I am aware of how kimonos and such are supposed to be draped. I have draped Phil’s robe like that on purpose. You get three guesses as to why.)
(Notes written somewhere between a historical record and a spy’s account, desperately trying to figure out their Deal)
(Techno has a tail, but I’ve got Opinions on the tail design and I’m gonna need to work on that before I draw it in.)

You know what? This outfit doesn't get appreciated enough
Like just look at it
and HELLO LOOK AT THE FUCKING LEATHER JACKET SHE WAS WEARING WITH IT
ughhhhh her jackets don't get appreciated enough normally, but this one is criminally underrated because it's so nice

Thinking about DAI Corypheus having one of THE most banger villain moments in the entire series ("Beg that I succeed for I have seen the throne of the gods and it was empty") only for him to be literally the most nothingburger antagonist to have ever existed

"When we look at the comic, one of the iconic things about Captain Marvel's design is her sash," [Andy] Park says.
"In the comic book world, you can take a lot of artistic license with character design because it's all about the graphic read of the visual. That's why you give super heroes capes, because it looks cool. Because if they're flying, it can flow in the wind. But as The Incredibles has taught us, capes are very impractical. That's a human reality. Having capes and having things flowing when you're trying to fight enemies is very impractical because not only can you get it caught on things, your enemy can use that against you as well. So even though I did explore having a sash- or just something flowing from her belt--at the end of the day, knowing in the story that she's a soldier in the military, the directors and producers ultimately thought it didn't make sense.
There would have to be a story reason why she would be wearing a sash, or something flowing like that, and there wasn't."
— The Art of Captain Marvel
We were robbed and continue to be robbed in The Marvels. Carol hasn’t had a bad suit in the MCU, but there’s always something keeping them from perfection.
Also please note my husband came up with a solution for the “needs a story reason” problem in less than two seconds. Lieutenant Trouble could tie it around Carol’s waist after picking the new colors on the suit. It could have been her flying scarf 🧣 that she plays with, emulating her mom and auntie as a little pilot. It’s that easy.
