i had a lot of fun with the ‘clothbound classics’ stickers i made, and decided to branch out! these aren't precisely ‘classic’ novels (though i would argue the hunger games is a sufficiently biting social commentary that it will, with time, become one) but i like them, and i thought they’d look good in the same style

Having finished 'The Metamorphosis', I have moved onto the next short story I possess of Franz Kafka's; 'In The Penal Colony'. I must say, I'm immediately enjoying it more.

It's so much easier to read - I had found that, in 'The Metamorphosis', Kafka had a tiresome tendancy to overwrite. Thankfully, there has, thus far, been no such issue.

So I’m watching some old-ish Charlie Cox interviews and I’m CONVINCED these two books lying horizontally are Penguin clothbound classics. I think they’re Cranford by Elizabeth Gaskell and The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins, and I wish there was a way to confirm this😂

Fanbinding Battle Lines!

I finished the fanbinding for @septemberrie 's Silrah bodyguard AU, Battle Lines, earlier this week and I forgot (of course) to take photos of the process but here is the end result! This has been a learning experience and there are definitely things I want to change for the next binding (the level of detail in the foil for example! Took me d a y s) and I am excited to try again but I am incredibly proud of this first ever full pdf to hardcover book bind!

Disclaimer that the wings and crossed swords were from a Google png search so I did not design but as this is for fully personal use its OK. Unexpectedly it was the swords that caused more problems at foil weeding! Wild. And there are paired birds on the endpapers!

This was so much fun, and I am now going to be a menace turning all my favourite longfics into glitzy hardback books!

i recently fell in love with coralie bickford-smith’s penguin clothbound classics series, and upon seeing some of my favourite books haven’t been (or at least, have yet to be) redesigned in this really slick, symbolic style, i decided to take a crack at them myself!

I've been loving the thought of Bucky getting kind of possessive recently and honestly, it's way too hot

Because I love the thought of him dropping you onto the bed and barely giving you a second to think before his lips are back on yours and his bodyweight is pressing you into the mattress.

"Such a good girl for me." He hums between bites to your neck, letting himself take the extra few moments to ensure he's left a trail of bruises in his wake.

But he's right and you know he is. You're only a good girl for him.

One of his hands trails its way up your bare leg, starting at your knee. It moves painfully slowly, the wait making you more desperate than you thought possible in such a short space of time.

"Bucky, please." You whine, begging for more, begging him to really touch you instead of just the featherlight graze of his fingertips.

The very tip of his index finger drifts over the thin lace of your panties, admiring that they're soaked through with evidence of your arousal. "Is this all for me?" He teases, tapping gently on your clit through the slick fabric, watching your expression because touching you like that just isn't enough.

You nod but that's not the response he wants and you know it. He wants to hear you. So you indulge him.

"God, you're beautiful." He trails two fingers in gentle circles over your clit before replacing them with his mouth. His tongue flicks methodically over the most sensitive part of your body, lapping like this is all he needs. For a second, you think it might be.

Your hands find their way into his hair, desperate to pull him closer. You can't help but notice that his tongue feels so different to his fingertips, despite the fact he uses very similar motions. His tongue doesn't offer the same friction or pressure but it's a truly wonderful feeling in its own way.

Half of the excitement of this is watching the way he loses himself in the taste of you. You feel him groan against your sex, his eyes squeezed shut and you know he needs this. He needs to feel the way your body reacts to each calculated flick of his tongue. He needs to feel you come undone against his mouth and he's determined to make you do just that.

His fingertips dig into your hips and thighs, his grip matching the intensity of his mouth and everything about this feels Heavenly. You know he's going to leave you marked with little crescent shaped indentions from where he's gripped you too tightly and his blunt fingernails have bit into your flesh but part of you loves the thought of it.

"You taste beautiful. You're such a good girl." You hear him mumble, kissing the insides of your thighs, taking a second to catch his breath, his fingers taking over in his mouth's absence.

"I'm your good girl, Bucky." You whine, leaning into his touch and you feel his lips curl into a soft smile against your skin.

i’ve been working on this since january. i’m both so fucking glad it’s done and also a little bit disappointed with it. i made my own book cloth and you can see where the heat n bond has seeped through the cloth bc it go too hot, the small spines i really should have thought of while making the typesets, and should’ve upped the font size to make it larger. i think i was so focused on finishing it that i maybe got a little lost in the details u know?

but anyway! i wanted to try my hand at the inspired by clothbound classics covers, and i’m pretty satisfied with how that came out! it was a lot of fun to decorate these with their charms on the bookmarks (my fav is the little tiny perfume on teenage wasteland. like how cute!! and tiny!!) and to try not to get too caught up in reading when i was editing.

i love all of these stories so much and i’m so excited to have made them all into physical books!
