any hajime headcannons?

-this guy's got anger issues too, he's just slightly better at hiding them

-completely oblivious to the fact that everyone crushes on him it's hilarious

-His relationship with his parents is not good, not bad, just... average. They just never connected and conversation was usually just polite. It's kind of ouch to feel how your parents just don't really feel particularly strongly about you as a person beyond being their child, but he's fed and housed and schooled, so it's not like anythings wrong per se. This is partially why he was so obsessed with being extraordinary

-The only person to rival Imposter in how much imposter syndrome he has

-runs hotter than the average person (miggy gave me this one lol)

-dimples!! And sharper teeth than the average person

-interested in philosophy, art and the supernatural, post-wakeup, because it's all things that are impossible to do "right" and the supernatural hasn't been proven yet. (Cue ghost Junko)

-hes an only child and sometimes you can really tell.

-if he was a flower he'd be a 🌻... To Face Another Day and such...

-he is at risk at having a bit of an alcohol problem post-wakeup if he had access to that sort of thing. No one operates at 100% when drunk and it's the only time he can be dumb and clumsy and bad at things anymore.

-Brain empty no feelings chemicals (samesies) means he's also gotta be careful with drugs (forcibly dousing brain with Chemicals) but (thankfully??) he actually has an aversion to drugs in general, even strong painkillers.

-strong aversion to needles post-wakeup, and absolutely can't stand having his wrists held or restrained. No sexy handcuffs for this guy thankyouverymuch

-his hands are like. Flat? Wide? His fingers splay out far and the thumb is extra curved.

-he didn't inherit everything that the other kids have, that didn't come by talent but rather is individual based. Ibukis hearing, Akane's danger sense, and Fuyuhiko's pain tolerance for example.

-hes hairy but he doesn't like having a beard.

-kinda has that thing where you're really resistant to being told what to do even if you were gonna do it anyway. Like "ok well you told me to so now I won't"

-mentally checks out sometimes. Just runs on autopilot. It's hard to tell the difference and it scares him. One of the methods that help are aromatherapy and meditation

-he and Impostor have like, a very unique relationship. You couldn't tell from the outside but he can feel the difference

-sometimes the emotions just aren't there. When they're super strong though, they can overwhelm him to the point where he forgets to be the best at stuff and can make human mistakes once again. FX if he was absolutely furious he'd punch someone with normal strength instead of Ultimate Boxer form or whatever

-he is pretty good with people, he's just a guy you can trust! but they still get on his nerves often.

-if he doesn't get something he CANNOT let it go until he understands it. Thankfully people are hard to neatly pin down so being around his friends keeps him from being so bored.

So I saw a few people do there own Smurfs au and I thought to myself why can't I? So this is based on a dream I had but what if Smurfette wasn't created alone. And what if Vanity, Jokey, Clumsy and Brainy were also Smurfettes created by Gargamel.

And Well Brainy he is known for a lot of trouble.

All these qualities can make them Naughties as well. Now this au is a Blend of the Cartoon and live action movie. Not the lost village.

Vanity Smurfette

Second Eldest right after Smurfette. Gargamel named her after she wouldn't stop staring at herself in his mirrors. As a Naughty her Vainess is 100%. To the point where she would call her own Sisters ugly. However deep down she had some insecurities. This all changed when she was forced to hang out with Farmer. At First the Naughty hated working in the fields. However Farmer always treated her like a lady. And she had to admit to herself that he was very attractive. Because of his Kindness towards her she decided she wanted to become a real Smurfette.

She has a crush on Farmer but isn't to sure he actually notices her. ( He does he just to shy to approach a beautiful woman)

Her phobia is 🐍.

Jokey Smurfette

Like her actual male canon character this girl loves Jokes and playing pranks. Even on her own Father Gargamel. Third Sister in line she sometimes felt completely invisible so she would do pranks to get attention. She suffers from Middle child syndrome definitely. When she gets to Smurf village she is helping her sister Smurfette wreck things in the village. However she still tried to make them laugh. She would exceed at almost all of them except a certain grump. No matter how hard she tried he would not laugh. This frustrated her. However she decided to make it her life goal. To make Grouchy Smurf laugh. It wasn't until he cracked a tiny smile that she decided she wanted to be a true Smurfette.

She has a crush on Grouchy, however she feels he will never feel the same way. ( He does his ego won't let him show it)

Oh and to Vexy and Grouchy shippers 😔. At first I shipped them too but now I feel the romance was rushed way too fast so I'm Pairing her with Marina. ( Vexy x Marina)

Clumsy Smurfette

Probably the most innocent thing in the entire world. Even when she was a naughty. Gargamel called her a mistake because of her innocent nature. When she arrived at Smurf village she didn't really want to cause trouble however trouble just seemed to follow her. She would accidentally wreck everything in sight. Being second youngest also meant her sisters were a bit protective of her. Of course she was always hurt by Vanity mean words ( she apologized once they all became true Smurfettes) To her surprise Handy seemed to like having her around cause even after accidently broke something she was willing to fix it immediately. When The Smurfs found out the Smurfettes were all Naughties. Hefty and Handy took it the hardest. Seeing Handy cry make Clumsy want to be a real Smurfette

She has a crush on Handy but is too shy to pursue it. She held it back when He started Dating Marina but when Marina broke up with him and starting Dating Vexy she fell in love with him again ( Handy did like her but he just fell for Marina he fell for Clumsy later though)

Brainy Smurfette

She is the youngest of the Smurfettes something her older sisters minus Clumsy who she is very close to do. Because of this from the beginning she tried to act older than she was. Like Clumsy she was often bullied by Vanity however unlike her she didn't take it lying down. Her sisters were pretty overprotective of her at First. Now when she was created she was blind at first. She got her name through her personality not her glasses. Because of her blindness and brash personality she was causing the most trouble. Papa smurf however could tell something wasn't right and after the Smurfette collided with Gutsy Smurf even though she was right in front of him he relaized want was wrong. He gave her glasses so she could see. After that Brainy came to respect the village leader and even was interested in the magic he did. Because of Papas kindness and totally not cause she didn't want to be left out or cause she had a teeny crush on the Smurf she fell on she decided she wanted to be a real Smurfette

She has a TEENY crush on Gutsy Smurf. If you ask or tell her she loves him be prepared for a hours long speech on how there not compatible ( she is obviously lying of course 😊)

Gutsy likes her too but like Brainy don't tell him unless you want to be smurfed out of the village)

Polū Aguirre is a uni student studying Marine Biology while working at the aquarium. Struggles with chronic illness and ADHD meant that they didn’t graduate undergrad til their mid-twenties, but they’re determined to make up for lost time now they are coping better and have a better understanding of their limits and capabilities. They are doing their Masters degree part time alongside working at the aquarium.

Polū’s mum was born and raised on Sulani but moved away to Oasis Springs where she met their dad. Polū’s most treasured memories from childhood are of going to visit their grandparents’ beachside house in Ohan'ali Town and exploring Mua Pel'am. They feel a very deep connection to the islands and most of all to the oceans that surround them. The trips they’ve taken to Sulani for fieldwork and volunteering projects have only made them more sure that all they want is to get a permanent job there working as a conservationist and be able to spend the rest of their life in Sulani, protecting their beloved ocean. But to do that they’re gonna need to study.

Fortunately, in the meantime they enjoy working at the aquarium and are grateful to have a job in their field. Their favourite part is talking to guests and getting to share their knowledge and enthusiasm. They are a massive Elasmobranch nerd and adore working with the rays and sharks (they give a very impassioned ‘sharks aren't evil’ talk to visitors regularly). Their bubbly (hehe) and slightly chaotic ways make them a hit with both the staff and visitors.

you had met your boyfriend and his older siblings at their house. they were all waiting outside dressed comfortably.

“i’m not late am i?” you asked, smiling at the siblings as you approached.

“not at all.” taiju reassured with a quick check of the gold watch on his wrist, sparring you a hug.

you hugged him back, before letting go and hugging yuzuha.

“yeah yeah. let’s go.” hakkai huffed, climbing into the driver’s seat of his car.

he was the one that had offered to drive, since he had offered to take them out to the movies.

the shibas were big fans of the super mario bros since they were younger, and you understood why they wanted to watch the movie.

taiju climbed into the front seat after arguing over you sitting in the front.

you insisted sitting in the back as taiju was much bigger than you, and you’d rather him be comfortable.

you also felt like he argued because he didn’t want to sit next to hakkai as, well..

the younger male gets pretty vocal and touchy when music is on in his car, especially his favorite songs.

no one wants to be a victim of that.

“did you get the snacks kai?” yuzuha asked, tilting up from behind his seat.

hakkai merely let out a ‘mhm’ as he continued driving, a smile present on his face.

the smile was on his face the entire time he had drove. the entire two hours.

“is it me? or have we been driving forever?” yuzuha questioned, looking up from her phone that was hooked up to the car.

you checked the time and seen that you had indeed been driving forever.

you had left around 12:27 in the afternoon, and it was now 2:49.

now that yuzuha got taiju’s attention, he took a look at their surroundings and squinted at the male next to him.

who was snickering.

“hakkai where are we going.” taiju demanded, rubbing at the middle of his furrowed brows.

“super mario bros.” hakkai replied, snickering even louder than before.

if hakkai was laughing, he probably wasn’t being serious about what he was saying at all.

which led you all to the point you were at now.

going through hakkai’s phone.

“strawberry shortcake near me. sibling activities. ingrown toenail. mitsuya takashi clothing line. are there really hot milfs near me.” taiju listed off, raising his eyebrow at each search.

you slapped hakkai’s shoulder hard at the last search mention.

“how to prove i am not a homosexual. hakkai shiba girlfriend. hakkai shiba beach-” “can we not?!” hakkai questioned loudly, cutting his brother off.

hakkai was a flush red, eyes frantic as he looked at the road and his brother.

taiju shot him a look, about to continuing listing off the most ridiculous things in his search history.

however, the car came to a stop and hakkai snatched his phone from taiju’s hand, stuffing it in his pocket.

“we have arrived at out destination.” hakkai mimicked the gps, gesturing to the mall that stood before you.

everyone, save for hakkai, looked out the window to their right and raised their eyebrow in confusion.

sure, everyone has been to this mall at least once or twice before, but everyone knows they don’t have a movie theater inside of it.

nonetheless, you piled out of hakkai’s vehicle and made your way inside.

hakkai led the way since he was the only person that had actually knew where he was going. for once in his life.

“we’re gonna miss the movie.” you stated, looking at the time on your phone.

it was 3:47, and if you don’t find the movie theater and get your slushie in time, you might actually miss the first part.

and probably lose your good seats, if hakkai even bothered to book good seats.

after a bit of silence and a lot of twist and turns, hakkai stopped in his tracks with a huge, mischievous grin on his face.

“we’re here.” he cooed quietly, gesturing to the place he was standing in front of.

the three of you looked at the sign and squinted in confusion. the sign had read ‘all out warzone’ with a picture of a little grenade.

“uhm. where’s the movie theater.” yuzuha questioned, holding back the sigh that was deep in her throat.

she already knew the answer.

there was no movie theater in the first place. it was a trap.

to probably get taiju outside.

when the four of you got in, it was revealed that the place hakkai had taken you to was a glow in the dark nerf gun place.

 he forced you guys to split into two teams, girls vs boys.

taiju protested, not wanting to be on hakkai’s team because apparently, hakkai sucks in everything he does.

which is true, if you remove the fact that he could successfully come up with a good plan.

could he execute it properly though? hell no.

but that didn’t matter.

you and yuzuha took your shoes off and switched into the places socks that they provided.

“if we’re gonna win, we have to take taiju out first.” yuzuha stated, strapping the bag of nerf bullets on her.

she had tied her hair up into a high ponytail and took off her hoodie, really getting into this.

you nodded, doing the same and beginning to load up the black and gold gun yuzuha had advised you to pick up.

“problem is, he’s used to getting hit everywhere.” you groaned, looking at yuzuha for just a bit.

yuzuha nodded, remembering her brothers’ days of being delinquents and constantly getting injured.

“which is why we have to get him in his ear. or his lower back, a bit above his butt.” yuzuha chuckled, pushing the jammed bullet out of the gun.

you giggled quietly at yuzuha’s odd statement. but you could only assume it was because she knew her older brother.

after they’d fixed their bond, they always playfully wrestled with each other.

easiest way to find each other’s weak points, and the most effective way to make them more stronger.

your phone buzzed, making you look down at it.

[4:03pm] kai kai <3 : hey are you guys ready yet? [4:03pm] kai kai <3 : me n taiju are getting bored.

“we ready?” you asked yuzuha with a grin, cocking your nerf gun to get it ready to start firing.

“oh you know i am.” yuzuha chuckled, stretching and cracking her knuckles.

you just know the parents and their kids were walking past with worried looks.

some were already rushing their children out of the arena.

“that’s cheating.” yuzuha yelled out, attempting to wrestle her gun out of taiju’s hands with a loud laugh.

in the start of their war, yuzuha began to spray nerf bullets at her older brother without giving him time to think.

so naturally, he shoved her gun downwards and began to shoot her ruthlessly.

“it’s not cheating if there’s no rules!” taiju taunted, shooting the smaller girl in her thigh repeatedly.

you stood on top one of the towers that were build for scoping and ducking, aiming your gun at taiju.

while he was busy with yuzuha and wrestling her for her gun, it gave you the right opportunity.

you began to spray your gun, letting three bullets get him on the shell of his ear and another six to his back.

almost immediately after, you felt two bullets hit you in the side of your face, pulling your attention away from the elder shibas.

you turned to your left and looked into the other building.

hakkai was squatting inside, winking at you with a little cheeky grin.

the grin didn’t last long, however, as yuzuha began to ruthlessly shoot hakkai wherever she could see.

which just so happened to be in his face.

hakkai (dramatically) rolled down the hill with a loud groan, holding his face in false pain.

“you okay teammate?!” yuzuha yelled out over the music, looking up at you from the floor.

“i’m okay! is taiju okay?!” you yelled back, still seeing the male doubled over near one of the ledges.

taiju waved his hand a bit, gesturing that he was just fine and if not, he will be fine in a few seconds or so.

for another hour or two, you guys ran around shooting each other and doing the nerf activities laid out for you.

when it was revealed that you only had 5 more minutes left, taiju pulled you and yuzuha to the side.

“you know, hakkai really fucked us over earlier when he tricked us.” taiju mentioned, leaning against the wall.

you and yuzuha both nodded in agreement.

as much as you didn’t want to admit it, you were really looking forward to watching the movie with your in-laws.

“so how about we get him back for it.” taiju suggested with a smug look, looking at the nerf gun in his hands.

you knew what he was getting at.

hakkai was in hiding, waiting for the right moment to strike at you or yuzuha.

he had no idea what was going on, and was waiting for someone to come into view so he can shoot.

“hakkai!” yuzuha called out loud enough for them to hear, finally finding the youngest shiba in his hiding spot.

she had to admit, it was pretty fucking good for how tall and skinny he was.

hakkai turned and got ready to shoot at yuzuha.

however, he never got to as taiju snatched the gun away from him and tossed it a few feet away.

“bro we’re on the same team.” hakkai complained loudly, rubbing his forehead in fake annoyance.

“and you promised the new super smash bro’s movie today.” taiju snapped back, crossing his arms.

hakkai rolled his eyes and went to grab his gun, ignoring taiju’s nth comment about not watching the movie.

you kicked it away even further, sighing and shaking your head in disappointment at your boyfriend.

“any last words?” you asked, tilting your head as the three of you cocked your guns at the same time.

“how dare you betray me?!” hakkai yelled out, backing into the wall.

safe to say, after the three of you ‘jumped’ hakkai with nerf bullets and soft fists, you were banned from all out warzone.

and hakkai had to take the three of you to see the super smash bro’s movie.

you never heard the end of your ‘betrayal towards your amazing, loving, and caring boyfriend’ for months.

I can see Eddie refusing sleep at all costs- like if he were to get anywhere behind schedule he would try to stay up late, what would howdy and/or frank do if they saw this?

Eddie would definitely overwork ‘imself. He’s the loyal mailman of the neighborhood, every neighbor is counting on ‘im to deliver their mail!! (They all insist he takes breaks an’ days off but he doesn’t really listen)

When Howdy or Frank start noticing Eddie is overworkin himself (More clumsy an’ forgetful/spacey, even a lil cranky since he’s putting all his energy into his job), they team-up together to care for Eddie! Gotta get him in somethin’ cute, give ‘im a teether or sensory toy (he always has to keep those lil paws movin’!), before cuddlin’ all up in a nest of pillows and blankets!! Sometimes, if Eddie isn’t super fidgety, he gets to be wrapped up in a big ol’ blanket burrito! Snug as a bug!!

More Eddie CG/Little headcanons below (TW/CW: mentions of oldest child syndrome situation) V

Goin’ off the headcanon of Eddie needin’ to take care of younger siblings, I would imagine him haven’t quite a tough time actually going into little space. When ya got others to look over, sometimes it’s hard to take time for yourself and just be a kid! Bein’ a caregiver allows him to actually have an option to care for others, not forced (totally not projecting ‘ere… e3e). But sometimes he falls into the old habit of putting others before himself.

So Howdy an’ Frank usually have to ease him into lil space. They start off with Eddie’s own tatic! Usin’ certain nicknames and praise, but with more mentions of ‘im bein cute!! Bein called and feelin cute helps Eddie to comfortably regress! Usually Howdy and Frank gets him to take naps and sleep, but if he wakes up still regressed (doesn’t always happens), they get playtime, usually consisting of lil origami toys, like the jumping frogs!

one thing that i love about infinity train is how REAL the characters are, despite being in a fantasy setting, and the narrative of how experiences shape individuals. the way they speak and act are so realistic, their choices are understandable and their arcs are so well-written. all of the characters have glaring flaws they need to work on, but it's also clear that these flaws are the results of some kind of trauma or the way they were treated.

tulip was disillusioned with the world, angry and distant. and this is a direct reaction to her parents' divorce and her inability to cope with it. which is sympathetic, of course, it's a hard thing to go through as a child. the show also reveals that tulip blames herself for her parents' divorce, which can hit close to home for many people.

lake was similarly angry and defiant, even outright hostile in certain situations. again, this comes as a response to the way she was treated in the train, the way she was never granted her freedom and individuality, and how she was trapped in a role she didn't want to play. it's no wonder that many queer people identify so much with lake, because the rules of the train mirrors real life.

jesse has people-pleasing tendencies that reach the point where it actually hurts people. we've all seen protagonists who are people pleasers or eager to appear likeable to people, but usually it only hurts themselves. jesse's case is the prime example of "a friend to all is a friend to none". you can't please everyone, there are people you should oppose or ignore. otherwise, you end up hurting people who actually matters in your life.

simon and grace are straight-up villains, or anti-villains at the very best. grace is manipulative and cunning, playing on people's feelings and insecurities to serve herself. simon is controlling and somewhat egotistic, refusing to change his mindset, regardless of what happens. again, both these characters are shown to have reasons for why they became what they are, even if it doesn't justify their actions. grace grew up in an environment where she was neglected and felt lonely, and found out that her only sure way of making any sort of connection is to manipulate people. simon is implied to have dealt with someone's death before he got on the train, since he seems to have an idea of what funerals are like. that, paired with samantha the cat accidentally leaving him behind in a crucial and dangerous situation, he develops some very intense abandonment issues. again, both these issues can be very relatable to a lot of people, even if we aren't as bad as either of these characters.

min-gi was shown to be insecure and uncertain, but at the same time, arrogant and condescending. the pressure he recieved from his parents has fueled his gifted child syndrome while simultaneously making him depressed and burned out. ryan is probably the closest we have to a "conventional main character", hyperactive and quirky. but he is also not exactly perfect in all other aspects, as he wants to push things forward and refuses to give min-gi some time to think and make a decision. as a child who grew up with lots of other siblings, ryan struggles to prove himself to his family, since they don't seem to pay him much attention. both these scenarios are especially relatable to asians, but of course, anyone who may have trouble pleasing their parents and living up to expectations.

i just gave a character analysis of each protagonist, but my point is that while other cartoon protagonists tend to lean more on the heroic side, the characters in this show doesn't. in most other animated shows i've watched, the flaws a protagonist is allowed to have are either "heroic" flaws such as being too forgiving or being self-sacrificing, or shallow flaws such as clumsiness or being kind of an idiot.

but not in infinity train. the protagonists in this show aren't heroes, they are normal people. they don't have a magical destiny, they don't have to fight for the good of the world, they aren't the "chosen ones". their ultimate goal is to get out of the train (or in simon and grace's case, to be superior to everyone else, to "win").

so it really feels good when one of the characters does choose to do something nice. when tulip chooses to empathize with and help amelia, when lake bonds with alan dracula and jesse. when grace chooses to change for the better and face the consequences of her actions. when ryan chooses to stay with min-go despite getting a door, and when min-gi does the same later on.

i watched this show about a year ago, and it's still one of the best animated shows i've watched. it's so uncomfortably real sometimes, you stop and go "am i like that?" when a character does something wrong, you know that the show addresses it and their actions have consequences. the show doesn't hand out redemption arcs to everyone or sweep things under the rug like some shows *cough* steven universe and she-ra *cough*

there's a reason why a lot of people seem to relate more to villains than heroes, because villains are allowed to be flawed while also being sympathetic. infinity train managed to create a cast of protagonists who are exactly like that. they are more than heroes, they are people.

It’s yes I can reassure you and praise your right behaviours, positively reinforce your actions and correct your thought patterns (but i can only do so much and i cannot praise you for the bare minimum in everything)

Over why did you sacrifice me and why did you let me near patriarchal offenders unsupervised and why do i have to sit here praising you as you waltz some of my most traumatic memories to recount either the lessons you’ve learned or explanations (excuses) why you allowed it to happen

Sometimes it feels like the same pattern from the time my face got cut open on the door jamb.

You lost your temper and slapped me round the face hard enough to make me spin and fall into the side metal of the door. Then as my face was stinging, maybe bleeding, and i was frozen in ricocheting silence, you crumpled to a heap on the floor of the upstairs landing.

I don’t think I was back in my body until after you’d been squeezing me to you, apologising. I think it was likely my lack of reaction that made us shiver apart so you could bury your head in your hands. I can’t remember if you were saying it, or whether I intuited it, the way you were blaming yourself and saying you were a bad mother.

I just recall I was desperately trying to convince you you weren’t. Accidents happen and I’m ok and I’m sorry I was bad and I won’t do it again and I love you mummy you’re my favourite person don’t cry its okay I’m sorry I love you

Don’t know how that one ended. I think I was around 6. Maybe younger. Clumsy in my chubby handed petting and reassurance.

Funny how just a couple of years ago you were telling my nephew you never hit us as kids. He didn’t believe you and looked to me. You were affronted when I said that that was just not true, then after you pressed and I cloaked some examples in vague recollection, you conceded. it was like watching you remember.

Maybe you don’t have access to some of the memories I do. Maybe I presume too much in that.

Kinda funny (not at all funny) when people act like dyspraxia is something you grow out of, as if it doesn’t literally get worse over time for a lot of people.

Even when it stays the same, it still *feels* like it gets worse. Adults will help with things like getting dressed and bathing when you’re a small child, but when you’re 25 and can’t competently do literally any job, you’re kinda fucked. Growing up makes dyspraxia harder.

But even beyond that, some people progressively lose physical and cognitive abilities as we age (and some don’t, and we don’t really know why this varies). I’m terrified of losing those handful of things I’m really good at, that help me cope with the rest. Sometimes I think I already feel it happening.

But yeah sure dyspraxia is “clumsy child syndrome”

Hey Anon! I know it's been a hot minute (or several hundred hot minutes) but I got your little headcanons right here. I hope you stuck around long enough to see this. I'm sorry for the delay. I've been very busy this past month which makes my writing even slower than usual. I think these characters would know they're attractive to some degree lol BUT let's say they didn't!! So this is a little "what if..." scenario.

ONE PIECE BOYS REALIZING THEY'RE ATTRACTIVE

Portgas D. Ace

He doesn't know when it happened. In fact, he never realized it before—how much his self image had taken a toll.

He heard so many unpleasant comments growing up that left him feeling unwanted, unneeded.

So when he grows up, he doesn't think too much about his looks.

He finds confidence instead in his strength, and in his adventures. Every accomplishment making him feel greater and bigger than before.

His fashion sense leaves a lot to be desired. He wears what is comfortable, or sentimental without further thought into it.

So when a random person at the island they were stopped in complimented his looks Ace was taken aback.

They said he had 'a face you could never forget' and at first he thought it was an insult.

So he challenged them to explain, when they—panicked—insisted it was a compliment, and it meant that he had good looks and charm, Ace was mind-blown.

It took him several minutes to get the cogs back in his brain going but once they did there was a full body blush taking over him. All this time he had no idea and all this time he had been hesitant to approach you.

With his newfound confidence in his appearance and not his physical strength, Ace takes the initiative. It was now or never.

His attempt at flirting is laughable. You do your best not to do it outright however, partially because you don't want to hurt his feelings and partially because you're actually left feeling bashful.

It was a clumsy attempt but seeing the blush on your cheeks was enough to satisfy him. Maybe he wasn't too late after all.

Trafalgar D. Law

There was never time to think about his appearance, much less compare it to others.

The last time he even worried over such a thing was when he was a child and sick with Amber Lead Syndrome and for very different reasons.

His life had led him down many roads, and he used people as he saw fit; a means to an ends.

In the back of his mind, he was aware of his charisma and maybe—his looks somehow contributed. He was never too sure.

It isn't until you compliment the tattoo on his chest, and place a warm hand against it that he considers, for a very brief moment, that you find him attractive.

You look up at him through your lashes, lips slightly parted—and he uses your moment of distraction to test his theory almost immediately.

He reaches out to place a hand over yours, keeping it against his chest, and swoops in towards your face.

“You like my tattoo,” he asks you as a crooked grin stretches his lips. His breath fanning your cheeks. “Or what's underneath it?”

You flush furiously and he can't help but chuckle. He couldn't believe he hadn't noticed—or rather—forgotten that by many standards he was considered attractive. He made a mental note to take advantage of it in the future, multiple times, especially when it came to you.

Roronoa Zoro

Zoro lives his life straight like an arrow—shooting forward, and never looking back. He is focused, and determined.

His lifestyle leaves no room to wonder about shallow things such as appearances. He barely pays attention to the appearance of others. It simply just doesn't captivate him.

But something about you does—maybe it's your stubbornness, or the way you're always so loud. How else was he supposed to ignore you?

All he knows is that he heard you compliment the stupid ero-cook on his equally stupid attire. He heard you call him handsome, and stylish.

What exactly was handsome about him? And not Zoro? What exactly made him stylish? The stupid tie? Zoro could wear a tie too if he wanted to.

Except he didn't own any ties, or any shirts that would go with a tie. He barely owned shirts as it was.

He considers asking Nami for a loan, so he can maybe buy a damn tie but she would ask him what the money was for and Zoro simply didn't have enough shamelessness to survive her teasing.

He spends days chewing over this, grinding his teeth at night so hard he would wake up with a sore jaw.

One day Robin inadvertently gives him a glimmer of hope by telling him blue looked good on him, as he wore the one navy blue shirt he owned. It was sleeveless and apparently, per Robin, made his arms look attractive.

She hadn't called him stylish or handsome but he'd take it. Feeling high off the adrenaline, and stupidly bold, he smiles crookedly at you as you join the table. He flexes a bicep before he addresses you next: “What do you think? Attractive or not?”

You laugh, taken aback by the sudden inquiry, but seeing the crestfallen look on his face you quickly amend: “Very attractive, Big Muscle Man. I like your shirt.”

i talk about dark's innerworkings a lot bc he's got more age, facades, and likewise a bit more personality complexity than daisuke, but daisuke's own thematic struggle of 'i can't do anything/i can't do this' vs 'i'm the only one who can do this/i have to do this' in tandem with 'i choose for myself/i take responsibility for others' is just as key to who he is overall as it is for dark. it's why i always emphasize that it's only when daisuke's out of focus that he's a nervous wreck, but once he has his focus set, then he dedicates himself completely for the sake of something. ('whatever dark sets his sights on, he gets!)

of course in canon this doesn't mean he's got any kind of golden child protagonist syndrome because not everything goes right for him. in fact, so many things go wrong: he can't fix any artworks, he can't create them, he can't always save them by trying to talk things out or witnessing them and trying to reach their hearts. he's watched people precious to him not only get hurt but die, and he's had to overcome moments of enormous grief. the only thing he can ever really do, like dark, is steal artworks away, then hoard or seal them, ultimately someday watching them break if hiwatari doesn't step in at all. thankfully, hiwatari usually does, and especially during the final chapter when hiwatari's about to completely disable himself for the sake of breaking and sealing away the kokuyoku alone, it's daisuke who lends a hand and says 'this time, i can save you.'

daisuke's chara growth is about going from someone who completely denies that he can be any sort of 'great phantom thief dark' (ch 1, the very first time he transforms!) to being someone who has the capacity to 'fly with dark,' and accepts dark not only as a partner but as part of his own self - a legendary phantom thief that can steal anything. he's about developing confidence and a firm sense of identity while rejecting any opinions or so-called absolutes and destinies that he doesn't choose for himself, and/or that don't suit him. it's satoshi who comes off as the cold, independent genius, the prodigy who doesn't need and rejects others- but in reality? satoshi has always been fragile and lonely. it's always been daisuke who, like dark, had an immense internal steadiness that belied any superficial clumsiness or anxieties.

He doesn't have that until he goes to Solstheim, but tbh I think I'm gonna have to mix in some blue to his previous armor designs, methinks hehe FOR JENAIS: Obviously he mostly wears black with red accents, because that's His Robe. Despite that, I associate him with green, and draw him with the color green a lot hehe. Orange is for warmth, fire, and all around like... idk. just Warm. And then the green for Jenais is definitely for envy, necromancy, and even a bit of Hermaeus Mora coding... >:3c

Ragnar likes birds, mainly hawks! It really just finds them fascinating to watch, and feels that they guide it in the right direction... Hmmmm... :3c And Jenais likes elk! He's always admired their antlers and grace, even as a child.

OH BOY HEHEHE... we'll start with Ragnar again here. Ragnar has inherited my struggles with knowing myself and identity, as well as unhealthy selflessness. I think we could get along but communication might be kinda hard skjflsdj AS FOR JENAIS... those that know me know that he's a massive projection of a lot of Problems I have/had, especially around the time I developed him, lmao. He's very much gifted kid syndrome/burnout, he's been used as a vessel for me to explore being arospec, and in general he's kinda like if I just flew off the handle, but worse. And no, we would not get along, at least not at first... but I'm not sure I have the patience of a saint that Ragnar has to actually deal with him for long enough for us to actually get along KSDJLKDF

HAHA WELL... funny I'm answering this today, since Ragnar has taken the reigns and developed itself in a direction I didn't think it would be going. SO LIKE. It's outwardly against lying, but actually lies QUITE a bit. Mainly about itself, its thoughts and feelings and such, as much lying to itself as it is lying to others to keep its appearance up. As for stealing and killing, it will do it if it must, but prefers not to. It generally stays away from stealing, as it never finds a valid reason to steal-- where as killing has become an inevitability in many cases. As for Jenais, well, his answer should be obvious: neither of those things are wrong, and in fact, they're pretty damn fun! >:3

26. how do they move? are they clumsy? light on their feet? do they use mobility aids?

OOH OK so Ragnar is very sure with his movements. He's very graceful, but his movements also hold weight. He's light on his feet but he's very muscular and has a good bit of body fat, so despite the grace it's easy to see that he could pack a hell of a punch if he needed to. He's quite sturdy too, and hardly ever loses balance. Jenais... I like to describe how he walks as almost like stalking, creeping, etc. He's fairly good at being sneaky, but even when not trying to hide, he moves with a strange sort of... I can only really describe it as a predatory gait, I guess?? Like he's ready for anything, always planning something. He's NOT sturdy at all though, and is easily knocked over. He used to be much more clumsy but has grown out of that for the most part. His posture isn't great, either, which adds a bit to his freaky, evil, creepy charm.

35. do they ever return home?

YOU WANTED TO HURT ME WITH THIS ONE. POINTS. I KNOW YOU DID /LH Short answer for both of them: No. Ragnar never had a home, how could it return? Jenais can't find home in the house he grew up in. Nothing is left but ghosts-- and the memories haunt him well enough as it is.

Yes, Dewey is reckless and clumsy. He has middle child syndrome, it's in his nature. This means he gets into the most trouble. He's not a trouble maker, he doesn't seek it out, it just finds him.

He tried to climb a super tall tree once to prove that he was cool to his brothers + Donald, but he didn't make it past the second branch before he fell and scrapped himself against the tree. He thought it was the funniest thing ever while Donald was freaking out that he was hurt. He would've been a hatchling at the time, so his sense of danger was non existent.

His hair sticks straight up, and if you measure it he's taller than Huey. Unless you count the hat, then Huey is taller. If you take off Huey's hat and flatten Dewey's hair, they're about the same height.

Three fun facts about me:

I am currently learning how to write in proper Scots, which is a lot harder than it looks or sounds. It's not something I was taught how to do at school, but we certainly read enough of it for me to have picked up some basics.

I went to the University of Edinburgh for my degree and I studied Biological Sciences with my Honours year being spent specialising in Zoology. I've never had a job that required it, but I did learn a lot and I like to use some of what I learned about ecology, animal behaviour, genetics and general biology to put some of it into my worldbuilding.

Despite having been formally diagnosed with Dyspraxia (aka 'Clumsy Child Syndrome as it was known in the early 90s) as a child, I have never actually broken any bones or had any injuries serious enough to require hospitalisation *knocks on the nearest bit of wood available*. Do not ask me how I have managed this because my spatial awareness is basically non-existent.

Favourite season: Autumn because it still gets sunny and all the plants have stopped spread pollen everywhere.

Continent where I live: Europe

How I spend my time: When I'm not writing, I'm either playing FFXIV or some tabletop game. I spend two nights a week GM-ing and one night every fortnight playing in another. I also play tabletop wargames, usually Warhammer 40k, but my group are trying to encourage more of us to get into Age of Sigmar and smaller skirmish games.

Are you published?: A few times. I got a poem published while I was in Secondary school and I've been published in the Baby Bestiary a couple of times.

Introvert or Extrovert: Mostly Introvert with some extrovert tendencies that were hammered into me as a kid. My family are all very extroverted so I got dragged into social situations a lot.

Favourite Meal: Tuna Pasta (salad to differentiate it from the casserole bake). I could quite happily live off the stuff if it wasn't so fattening. Otherwise, put pretty much anything sweet in front of me and it will probably disappear pretty quickly.
