Shippers, I need help! (And read it all before you block or something puh LEASE I need as many opinions as possible)

So I ship stuff, right. Average shipper. I like shipping characters.

However, I have some limits for myself. I’m never gonna ship characters who are related, I’m never gonna ship someone under 18 with someone over 18, I’m never gonna ship someone with anything that can’t consent. Because I find all of that gross, and I have opinions on people who ship that stuff that I keep to myself. But those opinions are there. So I call myself antiship.

However, many antishippers are pro censorship, and actively seek out proshippers to harass them and “expose them,” literally ruining opportunities for them. I am against all forms of censorship completely, with no exceptions. So some people call me proship.

I’m confused, because I don’t ship these things personally and I avoid them, and have multiple tags and users blocked for my own safety. But I’m finding that I don’t agree with many of the values of my fellows.

So what would I be? Some people call me proship, others say antiship, some people say peaceship? What would it be?

I am not proship but fr they have done absolutely nothing to you. No proship is forcing you to read or watch their things, no one's even asking you to. Putting proship dni everywhere, even on things that have no relation to shipping discourse, is ridiculous.

Honestly, just because of anti's behaviour, I would lean more towards proship. At least they have some respect. I ain't never seen a proshipper call an anti an "antishitter" and it is *very* revealing. I ain't rarely seen a proshipper send hate messages to anti much less start full on harassment campaigns.

The so-called "mean" proshippers are better than you at remembering there's a person on the other side of that screen. If you can't even show the bases of respect to the IRL ALIVE IN YOUR WORLD person you're talking to, maybe you're not qualified to talk about what is or isn't respectable. Empathy, compassion and respect don't only exist in fiction.

The Fiction Protection Flag

Hello folks! I have returned with a darker version of the Fiction Freedom Flag (which represents the Proship/Profiction/Antihara/Comship/ETC community as a whole, regardless of term preferences).

I call this flag the Fiction Protection Flag. If the Fiction Freedom Flag was meant to spark unity, creativity, and joy, this flag is meant to spark anger, grief, and rebellion.

The colors are actually based off of an Antishipper flag I found once. I thought the colors were pretty, So I simplified and edited it a bit to make it more pleasing to the eye (for me anyways) and reclaim it for a better purpose.

As usual, a dove was used to represent the "Dead Dove Do Not Eat" phrase that often encapsulates the community. This time however, it is a lonesome black dove carrying a flower. This is supposed to represent a tribute to the victims of Antishippers and Harrassers.

The specific stripe meanings are as follows:

Burgundy - Mourning of Comrades Who Took Their Lives From Harassment: Exactly what it says on the tin. This stripe serves a similar purpose to the black dove on the flag, but more specifically represents victims who were driven to take their own lives because of Antishippers. The Stripe of Grief.

Scarlet - Rage Against Abusers and Harassers: Also pretty self explanatory. The fury of a mother bear protecting her cubs. The anger of the oldest child who's sibling was bullied. This is the rage I am referring to. A desire for peace, frustration with the horrors of the world, ETC. The Stripe of Courage.

Lilac - Unity: This stripe is actually taken straight from the Fiction Freedom Flag's Stripe of Camaraderie. It represents the unity and solidarity of Proshippers, Profictionists, Antiharrassers, comshippers, etc. The stripe of Community.

Iris - Protection: Another stripe taken from the Fiction Freedom Flag's Stripe of Justice. This stripe represents our collective community supporting each other and defending ourselves and our comrades against harassers and abusers. The Stripe of Strength.

Indigo - Justice: This stripe represents morality and the carrying out of justice and the laws of compassion and understanding. It screams for karmic retribution on the abusers and harassers that have unrightfully harmed others under the guise of adhering to purity. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. The Stripe of Order.

We say that fiction ISN'T reality. It doesn't affect reality, on a ONE TO ONE BASIS. Think critically for just a second, PLEASE.

It's literally not real. I'm not even into most comship tropes, but I have enough common sense and media consumption skills to know it literally isn't real, and that if I ignore the warnings it's literally my fault.

The Fiction Freedom Flag

Presenting: The Fiction Freedom Flag! A proship/profiction/antiharassment/comship/ETC flag for all folks of any labels that share the same beliefs of the mentioned identities. I took inspiration from certain aspects of culture in these communities, as well as from multiple already existing flags. This flag is meant to be a flag that represents everyone that is against the censorship of fictional dark media and the harassment of those who create it, hence the more general name than "the proship flag" or "the profiction flag." I noticed there wasn't a lot of consensus when it comes to a singular flag representing these identities, and this was a result.

The two doves are a reference to the popular phrase "Dead dove do not eat" within the fanfiction community in relation to dark works. I decided to go with two instead of one for both symmetry reasons and also to show the aspect of solidarity between proshippers/profictionists/antiharassmentists/comshippers/ETC.

The heart with the cross-bones is a reference to the 🌈🍖 Symbol. I suppose you could also call this flag the "Fiction Pirates" Flag! 😊

Finally, here are the stripe meanings as shown above, and more detailed explanations below:

Pink - Romance, to represent fictional relationships that are romantic in nature, whether purely romantic or involving other forms of attraction as well. The stripe of love.

Red - Sensuality, to represent fictional relationships that are physical, whether sensually, sexually, ETC, and whether purely physical or involving other forms of attraction as well. The stripe of passion.

Lavender - Friendship, to represent both fictional relationships that are platonic, whether purely platonic or involving other forms of attraction as well. This stripe also represents the solidarity of the proship/profiction/antiharrassment/comship/ETC communities. The stripe of camaraderie.

Teal - Freedom of Artistic Expression, to represent the creation of fictional content no matter the material, whether wholesome, dark, and everything in between. The stripe of creativity.

Blue - Reclamation of Injustice and Trauma, to represent the way our community tries our best to redirect the harassment, injustice, and pain given to us by censorshipists and antishippers, and turn it into something that sparks joy to the people we care for. The stripe of healing.

Purple - Unity under aggression, to represent the community standing up for and protecting innocent people who have been wronged by harassers and abusers. The stripe of justice.

go offline (seriously. Online is not necessary)

block tags and block people. (Your online safety does not have to cater to others I promise)

Follow unrelated tags to drown it out (like art tags, Uhm… gardening?)

Get hobbies (seriously, distract yourself if possible!)
